We got our little Yorkie from here less than 4 years ago. We were told she would be small- but we fell in love. She had a cold but our vet was comfortable with her prognosis at the time and she soon got over it. Around one year old she developed arthritis and back leg problems, then around two liver problems, then kidney problems. She did not even make it to her fourth birthday! They are not reputable- do not trust them!

I bought a Chihuahua puppy from this place a few years ago, once she turned about 1 years old she started to develop lots of health issues, losing fur, early signs of arthritis, back problems, and back leg problems, at the age of 6 she sadly passed away from her health issues. Her being the love of my life. I looked over her papers to find out her “breeder” since I was told this store gets their dogs from “good local breeders”. (I was too young at the time to know anything about puppy mills).
I looked over the papers I was given and found the breeder’s name was **, I did a few google searches and it did not take long to find a site with her name and her partner’s name (**) and their kennel name (Vertricia’s). I found all of their info on a puppy mill website. I was horrified. It wasn’t until a few years later I found them on this site, and saw the photos of the actual puppy mill my baby came from. This store sells puppy mill puppies, do not believe a word they tell you. Just search the name of the “breeder” on your papers and you will most likely find them on that site, if not now, give it a few years like it took me. Disgusting. Beware.

I am a responsible maltese breeder from the UK. I called these Guys because I thought something was very very wrong, and if I could gather enough evidence report them. First off, NEVER EVER buy a dog without doing RESEARCH. Toy dogs can be very difficult to manage, demanding and headstrong if you don't raise them properly, and are not bred properly. Don't ever buy a dog because you want something that you can dress up. One of my maltese dogs costs around $130 dollars a month, plus any injections and vet care (consultation for example cost around $70) and insurance is the best part of $1200 each year.
If you think you can cut costs and save then you should not get a puppy. Bet you didn't know each and every dog should be tested for diseases which costs $2000!!! Teacup puppies are a bad idea. Too many people are rushing into a decision, they often have health problems and in general regardless of where you get them from, are sick. NEVER get a dog for a Christmas present. NEVER EVER buy without seeing mum.
Right, now, this boutique is rubbish, money making scam they should not be breeding dogs. Think about what kind of breeder will let their dogs go to this place, without ever seeing them grow up or anything, they produce sick pups. The fact that this store considers pups "batches" is not good at all. This place is a scam, DO NOT buy puppies, you are lining the pockets of those with much greed. No money = no business = no puppy mill breeding which is ILLEGAL. So please don't buy a dog to be a fashion accessory because they are not!!! Thank you for reading this and remember sharing is caring - please get word out!!

This store is advertised online as puppy petite puppies for sale. There's a video of the puppies in a house, also on NJ newspaper. I call and a guy by the name ** give $550.00 dollars price for a female yorkshire terrier. When I ask about the puppy's age, health, he told me that his wife knows about it. I ask for her number, she didn't answer. I call couple times his number, he even sent me pictures of the puppies. And when I got there, it was a surprise for me. It was a store. Of course he wasn't there.
When I ask to see a puppy, ask for the price, the lady that works there told me $1200.00 dollars. Wowwww. The place is not even clean, puppies look sick, when you walk inside the door locks, the windows were closed. I have hard time breathing inside because I'm asthmatic. The guy ** was not there. I call the wife, and when she answer she told she is not the wife. Wowwwww. This people are up to something, and of course nothing good. This place should be shut down. God help me with this matter in the name of Jesus Christ.

We bought a puppy and was told it was neutered. We were given paperwork that said the dog was neutered. We were grooming the dog and noticed that there was no scar or shaved area and that the dog still had testicles. Took the puppy to the vet and found out that the dog wasn't neutered. Contacted them and we were told that we would have to go from Staten Island to Queens and deal with the traffic and tolls for multiple days. We told them that's not acceptable and wanted it done on the Island by a vet we trusted considering we were told it was neutered and had paperwork from their vet saying it was. We told tough luck and to sue them. Was extremely rude.

The man that answers the phone is a liar. From quoting false prices and stating that his wife is a breeder. There are too many yorkie pups day after day. I believe these people are puppy mill organized. Also, the pups are only 1 to 2 months of age. Way too young by standards of professional breeders to sell. This place needs to be shut down.

I emailed the guy ** and told me puppies were 550-750 for toy sizes. When I got there an extremely rude lady told me there was only one female Yorkie for 750. And I said what happened to the 550? She said they ran out of those and will be there on Thursday because they're "bigger". I looked around the cage and realized there were 4 other females. But they were 1,300 and the "micro" was 1,500. So then I was like, "Why did you tell me there was only one female". She ignored me! And then I asked what's the difference with the more expensive ones and she said "ears". Very nasty attitude. And she was grabbing them and throwing them into the cage. They were beautiful puppies. But you can tell they weren't healthy. They were shaking and scared. I can't imagine the type of mistreatment they receive there.

My husband and I called to find out prices and if they had Shih Tzus available. The man ** stated his wife is a breeder and gave us an address (which he said was his home). He said he only had one imperial Shih Tzu female left. We asked the price and he said 750. So he sent us a picture and we got there within 25 minutes. When we got there it was a side apartment and the woman said go into the storefront which was odd. Why didn't they give us that address in the first place? The place was packed and they said the female imperial Shih Tzu (which just means they breed 2 small dogs and figure the pups will be small and they charge more) was being bathed so I told the man there that I spoke to ** and he said she is 750.00.
The lady came out with her and said "Oh no she's 1,000." I said but he told me 750.00 on the phone. She said "Oh that was a different one. She was sold already." Then they recommended ** office (veterinarian) and we got a free exam. I called and asked how much the vaccines are and I explained her age. The man that answered told me $35 each. So we went to ** office a week and a half later and OMG the place was filthy. The office had their own pets in the waiting room barking and peeing all over. The exam room had urine on the floor. This was the most disgusting office I've ever seen. Also, when my pup was about to get her vaccine she said it would be $95, then when I was going to pay at the front the man said $100 and I said the vet said $95 and she came out and said she made a mistake. I feel both Puppy Boutique and ** office are scammers. Stay away and go with a private breeder and by recommendations.

My girlfriend purchased a male "teacup" yorkie in 2007. A year later it was 11 lbs and didn't look like a yorkie, was developing cataracts and eventually glaucoma in one eye. 6,000$ later the eye was removed, second eye developed the same, eye specialist prescribes drops and pills, blah blah blah… second eye will be removed this year. She gets into debates when walking the dog, people ask breed, she replies “yorkie” and they say, “no way!” Hahaahhaahhaha, it’s hilarious. These people are liars and crooks, their shop should be shut down. They even provided her paperwork. I looked up the paperwork company online, I could register my Maltese as a purebred german shepherd for 9.99$.

I purchased this 2 month old puppy, which i was told was a tea cup and he is not. I believe he is a toy, because he weighs 8 lbs. I paid over $800 which they should of charged me over $700 and they stated there is 1 year warranty. But on their paperwork that they give you it states you have 2 weeks to take the puppy to the doctors and see if anything is wrong with him. There is nothing at all about the 1 year warranty on their paperwork and they say it all the time. They also gave me medication for the puppy which I found to be unusual, so I ended up taking the puppy to the doctors to check if he was okay and to find out why he needed the medication. The doctors stated he was fine and saw no reason why he needed the medication. So I stopped giving it to him and then he got sick on me, so taking him back to the doctors costed me over $200.
By the time he hit 9 months he had "HIP DYSPLASIA". Going to doctors I learned it comes from the mother breeding so much. I then call the store to see if they can assist me with anything, since the puppy is 9 months old and they claim there is a 1 year warranty. And then they tell me that the only thing they can do for me is give me a new puppy. My mouth dropped and I said "excuse me, so you expect me to return a puppy that I and my 4 children grown to love and just exchange him for another one?" I mean my puppy was up to date with all his shots. All the money i spent on him and for me to just throw him away for a new puppy and start again. He said "NO" you can keep the old one and we will give you another one. I said "so you expect me to take the new dog and leave my dog like this" like are they serious? He claims there is nothing else he can do for me.
I just couldn't believe how irresponsible this pet store was! To sit here and sell puppies and not be responsible for them, like if they were toys. I feel bad for the puppies that are there. This puppy store should be "SHUT DOWN". Its obvious they don't care about the puppies. Its all about the money and keeping people quiet about their wrongdoing. Not once have they called me to see if my puppy is okay or to help me out with anything. Just selfish. But every dog has their day and I hope someone takes notes of all these complaints and close this store down and place these puppies in good hands.

Firstly, the people especially the owner Rachel was the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. 2nd they lied to me on the phone about the price. They said 650.00 on the phone for this particular pup and then raised the price to 900.00. Then I asked if the pup was a toy or a teacup. I think they thought I wanted a teacup, so they told me teacup that he would be 4-5 lbs full grown.. Well he's 12 weeks old now and is 4 1/2 lbs. I asked if he was from a puppy mill they said no.. I find that very hard to believe because I had bought a puppy there 15 yrs ago and he died that's why I went back to them. My dog I bought 15 years ago was from MO. Just like the pup I just bought .. The cages were crowded with too many pups per cage. Then I noticed the cage closest to the window that had Maltese pups that were older and I wondered what they do with the ones they don't sell..
A few days later I saw on the news a cage of Maltese puppies were found in Brooklyn abandoned .. It looked to me the same dogs the same cage and the same way they use shredded white paper with a baby blanket in there .. Plus they were already on the news a few yrs. ago for selling sick dogs. And the business has multiple names Puppy Boutique .. Puppy Petite .. NYC Puppy, etc. this woman Rachel the owner treats them like they're not puppies. She just flings them in the cages like its a stuffed toy .. This place really needs to be checked into why do these pups have to suffer just so she can make money. All the puppies were from the same place in MO. How can it not be a puppy mill?

On Saturday February 14, 2015 I called the store and spoke to someone named "James." He stated they had toy Maltese puppies starting at $550. I stated I would get back to him. Ten minutes later he sent a pic to my phone of a Yorkie. I asked him why would he send me a pic of a Yorkie when I asked about Maltese Puppies. He said they had toy Maltese dogs there now for $550 so I said I would be leaving shortly. I got there a 1/2 hr later and has to be buzzed in and they took my driver's license. But there was no dog there for $550. The next price up was $750, $900 & $1200. It was packed in the store and I had to wait for twenty minutes for someone to check me out with my dog. The lady at the counter spoke very abruptly and was taking care of 3 people at a time.
Just as I paid for my puppy he threw up on my daughter. I asked was the dog sick and she proceeded to say my daughter was rocking the dog so she was making him nauseous. I asked for paper towels and she pointed and said on the wall without looking up. I should have asked for my money back and just left then but my daughter was attached already. By the time we got home the dog had thrown up again just a little bit in the crate. By day three the dog seemed a little tired and wasn't playing or eating. They sent me home with about seven kinds of vitamins some kind of syrup in case of emergency and 3 cans of wet dog food and 1 bag of dry kibble.
I switched the dog's food and he ate but an hour later he threw up. So I called the store at 5 pm and was told to give him apple sauce and pedialite. I asked to speak to the owner and he proceeded to tell me the store was closed because I said I wanted to know if I could return the dog for another because of what was happening. He told me to call back in the morning when "James" would be in. So I go online to see that the store stays open until 9 pm on weekdays and it is now Wednesday......
Long story short: I paid $969 for a dog and a cage that was only supposed to be $550 and had horrible customer service and received a sick dog. Now I am on my way to take the dog to a vet because I'm afraid he will die if I don't get help for him and I know they are giving me the run around and will not change the dog or refund my money. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. IT IS A RIP OFF!!!

I got my princess here in 2012. I am giving 3 stars because I love my princess so much, and she is so healthy! She has the greatest personality!! When you get there, you will realize it definitely must be a puppy mill. There are millions of teacup Yorkies in cages, and you want to help them all!! They are all so cute and precious. The website at the time made it seem like there was one mom having puppies, but my yorkie was from like Illinois!! Anyways, they gave us medication to give Scarlett, and the vet didn't really understand why. My mom spent $1600 for Scarlett!!! The dogs are very expensive! But I am just writing a review because my girl is going to be 3 in May, and she is so perfect and very little (5lb). But the owner isn't very nice. Save the poor puppies!

I purchased my JC a pure breed tea cup Yorkie from The Puppy Boutique. I like others were advised on the phone the cost ranged from 550 to 700, I ended up paying almost a grand. Around JC's 6 month visit to the vet, I was advised that I SHOULD NOT attempt to mate my JC. I was advised he has an undescended testicle! My vet said that it is a genetic defect that is passed down from his father and he could pass it to his offspring! I love my JC and I thank God I have him!! After getting my JC, I purchased 2 more pure breed Yorkies but I purchased them off of private breeders! I do not regret my JC, BUT I am advising people to be careful of the Puppy Boutique!! They lie about the price, elevate it once you get there and their dogs are more than likely inbred!! Which causes Genetic defects!! I have to have my JC fixed because he has a higher risk of cancer due to his undescended testicle! BEWARE..

I have never dealt with a situation like this and normally I don't take the time to write a review but this place is honestly ridiculous and run by a total schemer. Let me also point out that it is very obvious that the only good comment on here is written by the schemer himself. Let me ALSO point out that he has NUMEROUS and I mean, NUMEROUS websites/phone numbers and store "names." I think I must have called him over 10 times because I came across all different ads with different numbers & store names and it ended up being him. Blew my mind that someone created so many different identities through the internet and scary if you ask me.
So here's my personal experience with this place: I came across an ad on Craigslist saying this man was selling purebred Shih Tzus for $550. So I call and speak to "James." James tells me "yes females are only 8 weeks and are $550" so then I asked him to send me a photo. Turns out he sends the same exact photo of a puppy whose probably over a year old now to EVERY customer. So then I tell him I really want her and if he could please hold her for me because I live 2 hours away but I will leave right away. He tells me "okay."
So I leave with my entire family to Brooklyn at night, excited to get this puppy and even talking about names in the car ride there. We get there and he gave us a FAKE ADDRESS. An address that was SUPPOSED to be his HOME. So I call him confused and he tells me "Oh, it's the puppy store in the corner." Um okay? So we walk in there and first of all it's filthy and they have to buzz you in the store. The staff there? EXTREMELY rude. Never came across such nasty people in my life. They had over 30 Yorkies, kid you not, and 2 Shih Tzus!!
Not only that, but when I asked the lady about the one I was supposed to pick up, she said "Oh, most of them sold this morning." I called this guy at 5:00 asking to him told hold a puppy that he knew was gone. All they had were 2 male puppies who looked very ill. And when I asked her how much they were, she told me 650 so I told her I spoke to James and so she went to the backroom to call him. She comes back and says... "James said 600 and is not going any lower." Like are you kidding, I drove 2 hours, got stuck in traffic to a price he never ever said, to a fake address, to lying about the amount of female Shih Tzus he has? Oh and they also ask for your ID in order to hold a puppy which fine, that isn't a big deal but what I found sketchy is that they don't even remind you or hand it back to you. YOU have to remember and ask for it, or else they keep it.
Honestly, it was the worst experience I have ever had and I don't want ANYONE going there. The guy and his employees work together to scheme people. It's literally a group of schemers that run a business to rip people off. Blows my mind that it's still in business.

Spoke to James on the phone looking to buy a Maltese puppy... Asked him how much the puppy goes for. He said the toy one runs between 550-700 and the teacup runs 750 and higher. I hung up the phone and got to his store within 15 minutes. First of all the store was small and the puppies are all in cages, most with runny noses. I pick a puppy out and he brings the dog in the back for about 2 minutes. When he finally comes back out, he tells me that the dog is 850.00. I told him that we just spoke on the phone and told me between 550-700 for the toy. He said "oh that one was just sold". Plus he did not have any teacups in the store. So basically he lied. With all the reviews and similar situations that people have with them I'm very surprised that they are still in business. They also have different names and address. I do not recommend anyone going there. They should be shut down. Extremely shady!!!

I called the person "James" and inquired about the teacup yorkies. I was told $550 on the phone. When I got there I ended up paying $700 plus taxes. When I took my pup to the vet the vet said no way he was a teacup - he weighed 2.4 pounds at 9 weeks. The Puppy Boutique had said Marvin would be 4-5 pounds. I took him to the vet the 2nd time for his next round of shots, and Marvin is now 4.5 pounds at 14 weeks. Therefore he is NOT a teacup. I have not had anything wrong with Marvin other than that. Reading a lot of these reviews and people getting sick puppies and dying is just so sad that it makes me feel better about just getting lied about his size. Marvin is an awesome pup. I love him. But I was lied to on price and on the size my pup would be. I've had Marvin for 5 weeks now and haven't noticed anything wrong with him and I pray it continues that way. I would not buy from here again.

On June 22, 2014, my wife and I, in search of a Teacup Yorkie, found Puppy Petite online. We spoke to a fictional character named James. He sent me photos and quoted me prices, which were way off. We drove the 2 plus hours out there from our home in Orange County, only to fall in love with an adorable Micro Maltese. We bought Ollie for $1,300, much higher than the prices quoted on the phone. They provided us with antibiotics and a slew of vitamins and Karo syrup. I should have walked right out when I was given all this stuff but my wife was already in love with Ollie.
We took Ollie home and immediately his kennel cough materialized except it was not just kennel cough. He also had a yeast infection in his ears. Six weeks later, Ollie still coughs and his vet bills were about $500, hardly anything compared to what some others paid. Ollie still coughs but other than that, he is a very happy and healthy puppy. His weight is where they claimed it would be by now. He weighs a little over 2 pounds now but dogs this size are prone to many illnesses and ailments larger dogs will never have. He is very playful and as adorable as can be but we watch him closely because we were sold a dog that never should have been sold. I left this out. He had surgery according to them for a hernia but the vet we took him to see told us he still had a hernia and never had surgery. Avoid this store. If it does not bankrupt you, it will break your heart when your puppy either gets ill or dies.

On June 8th, 2014, my son bought a Yorkie the pup which was sent home with antibiotics and three jars of Nutra-Cal and what they call 911 which is Karo syrup. I took the pup to my vet and found out that he had Kennel Cough and after speaking to the store owner, the ENTIRE LITTER WAS BEING TREATED FOR KENNEL COUGH. The Associate allowed my son to make this 9$25.00 without telling him that he was being treated with Kennel Cough. Otherwise, had they been honest, we would have put a deposit and came back to pick him up when he was cleared. Of course I questioned it because I worked in a pet store and my store was not allowed to sell any pups with Kennel cough b/c they could get pneumonia after that.
My vet had given me some heavy duty antibiotics to cure the Kennel Cough and I called the owner and he said that he would work with me and I have to say he did until my pup got pneumonia June 29th, 2014. My husband and I have spent over two grand. This was after our vet had suggested putting him down. Personally I could not b/c this virus could be treated. The animal hospital wanted to make sure that this puppy was getting better and wanted to keep him another two days and that it was going to cost me another two grand - I could not afford it any longer. We spent the entire Monday, June 30th, calling the hospital and trying to see how he was doing and called the Puppy Boutique and asked them to call the store owner and inform him of what was going on to hopefully make arrangements for the store to pick up the tab and give us a healthier pup and b/c the store owner was not there could not do that but he took his pup back. However, because of their irresponsible acts, I am NOT SURE IF THIS PUP WILL MAKE IT.
I was a manager in my teens and worked for Doktor's Pet and if I argued with a customer, asked the customer to fax medical information or did not find my store owner as the customers request, I WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED. My pup was in trouble and I needed help and associate Alicia asked me to fax the pup medical records basically calling me a liar without really saying it even though I offered the hospital's phone no. to verify my story. Our pup was going be in training to be an emotional support animal and now we are lost without him. For the one week that he was not sick, we had so much fun with him. These last two days have put so much emotional stress on our family that I am hoping that this store owner will understand that I was sold sick a puppy and he cannot play with customers' emotions like they do.
I am praying that the owner will either keep our pup for a month to make sure that he will not get sick again provided that he has not died or give us another pup that we will have checked out by our vet. To me, it's not the money but the pup that these make us happy and as customers, we promise that we will take care of, not abuse and give them love and what do we as customers get in return I am sorry and thanks for your money but as the store owner telling you that it is not his or her problem and to me and my family it is. Our family cannot and will not rate this store because it is not worth rating and to anyone who is buying a pup, ask a lot of questions even if you think that they are stupid. Our family tried to save our puppy and all we have now is no puppy and two thousand dollars in debt.

Liars. I showed them the pictures and the puppy I picked from the pics. They told me the puppy was sold before I got there. They bought a puppy out from the back. I fell in love with her. She came home on a lot of meds.
I took her to the vet today. I met a young lady who also purchased a dog from there in January. We swapped stories and our experience was the same. The pics they sent her were the same pics they sent me. I asked my vet what were one of the medicines for. He told me for infection so I'm not sure if my puppy is completely healthy yet but I'm very nervous. I would never go back to this place and my dog is very hyper.

We contacted "James", who was very nice over the phone, and stated that his wife Mia had a long history of breeding Yorkshire Terriers since the late '70s. He gave me his website and I called back to confirm that we would take the 90 minute drive to "his house", in Brooklyn, where he had 9 Yorkies. It turned out to be a storefront. Two other couples in the store were also told the same thing -- we were expecting a house and not a "puppy-mill"! Mia didn't appear to exist and "James" appeared to go by a few names. The prices were higher than what was quoted over the phone but more troubling was the misinformation about Yorkshire Terriers. We had owned Yorkies in the past and knew that the info was wrong! Additionally, we looked at a few dogs that had obvious health problems. We were originally told over the phone that we could take the dog to our Vet for a check-up, and once in the store was told that we had to go to one of their Vets.
I never saw so many Yorkies in one place. There must have been at least 25 to 30 "Toy", "Tea Cup"and "Micro's". I never heard of a Micro! When my wife and I questioned whether or not there would be legitimate papers, we were told that we could pay for a birth certificate through the mail. When we decided to leave, we were told that these dogs are pets and not for show, and if we went elsewhere, it would be twice as much for the same dog. We did not trust in the health and well being of these dogs or the characters that worked in this storefront. We will do more to find a reputable breeder with a proper number of Yorkies in his litter, and not a storefront with dozens of dogs. This place also appears to trade under a few different names. Many red flags. Be careful.

Here is my horror story........ Back in 2009 my husband wanted to buy me a yorkie. I found the Puppy Boutique online with these most adorable little yorkies. I called and spoke to the OWNER. He told me female yorkies started at $1,000.00. I purchased coco. She was 8 weeks old and the most sweetest little thing. About 3 weeks later she was put to sleep for liver shunts. I was heartbroken. My baby was gone. She was so sick I had no choice.
Three days before my birthday she was sent to heaven with all her little toys. I can't believe I would even think about going back there to purchase another puppy. Thank God I saw this post. These people are horrible. The woman who owns this place should be shut down. The stories about rudeness, puppies looking tired, all that is true. I experienced it firsthand. BEWARE. DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR PUPPY FROM THIS PLACE. All you will get is heartache.

The staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the puppies. I saw one of the puppies had a stitch on her tummy and I asked why... and was told the truth.. without hesitation and no one lied to me. Of course the puppy I wanted got sold earlier in the day. Should have left earlier to get there... But picked out a beautiful little Maltese who is just perfect. As for the dog's health... she has bright eyes... clean ears and no wet poopers... They make you sign your life away when you purchase a puppy which is good.
You cannot enter the store unless they let you in and to hold any puppy they require a photo ID... and they also give you vitamins and food to start your puppy off to a good start. THE PLACE IS CLEAN PEOPLE... Most pet stores don't smell that good. While I was there they cleaned the crates twice... and the store was packed... They sold a lot of puppies that night and we were told it was busy like that all day... All the dogs were alert, playful and clean smelling... After purchasing your puppy, before You leave the store, you are told to wrap the puppy up in a blanket or put it inside your jacket...
Now does this sound like a bad place to purchase a dog??? I have a friend that purchased a dog from a well known established breeder and the puppy got sick and died... so it can happen to any breeder... Looking for a puppy... GO AND CHECK OUT THE PLACE FOR YOURSELVES. It was worth my trip... and I have a spunky little Maltese who already is the boss of the house... Couldn't have asked for a better experience.... THANK YOU, PUPPY BOUTIQUE, FOR MY BEAUTIFUL LITTLE PUPPY....

I found the ad for Maltese puppies online. The ad was for Puppy Petite, which I have now learned had at one time gone by the name of The Puppy Boutique. My family had just gone through the heartbreaking death of our 8-year-old Maltese. In order to help ease our pain, I wanted to get a new Maltese baby to love. I thought my prayers were answered when I came across the ad for Maltese pups. At first I didn't think anything was wrong. The person "James" (who I find out goes by different names), was pleasant enough - but was sort of evasive with information such as the puppies run between $550.00 and $650.00. I told him my situation and he seemed pleased that I would be driving 2 hours to purchase a puppy.
Well, I was led to believe that his wife has a side business breeding puppies out of their home, so naturally, I thought it strange that every time I called "James" there was no "wife " to talk to and that he always seemed to be a go-between. He was very slow at responding to my calls and emails, and kept ignoring my request to see pictures of the Maltese pups. He finally sent photos - all of which had a different background, yet he said they just took the photos so that I would have something "updated" to look at. That was last night.
Today I woke up and called, and asked if there was a contact number for his wife, "Maria." He gave me a cell phone number, but as fate would have it, the mailbox was full and could not accept messages. Finally, the voice of reason kicked in, and I did a Google search on the business name and address. WOW - am I thankful that I did! 125 negative reviews about this place came up - most of which described heartbreaking stories about how the puppies people purchased died within months or even a couple of weeks after getting them home.
There were a few "good" reviews - most of which came from people in Brooklyn, so I would not be surprised if in fact these people were personal friends or employees of the horrible puppy store these people run. There is an article on the internet about this particular business as well as many other puppy mill stores that practice bait and switch and who sell congenitally unhealthy dogs. I would urge every would-be dog owner to do their online research before purchasing a pet from anyone they do not know personally. In today's information age, there is no reason why a place such as this should still be selling puppies to an unaware public. Do your homework - trust me, if there is a shady business out there, a Google search will find it within seconds and save you financial and emotional heartbreak.

And I feel bad for those babies puppy they look so tired. My father-in-law thought one was dead because he wouldn't move or open his eye. This store should be close down. I didn't buy the dog I wanted bc the dog I wanted that the guy send me a pic on text was not there when I got to the store - after not even 2 hours.

So I traveled all the way from CT with my husband and kids. We get to the place and we were looking for a male Yorkie with grey coloring and they didn't have any in the shop. A few red flags about this place was that the guy helping us was wearing a leather jacket and it was very warm in the store just found it a little weird. I don't know if he was the owner? He very chatty, but something was off. He started showing us different breeds like a Maltipoo and then a Wheaten Terrier that was in a dead sleep, and he grabbed the poor baby who woke up and fell back asleep in his arms. He started telling us that they were great dogs and that Obama had one because Michelle was allergic and they were hypoallergenic. Then the dog picked up his head and a lot of water came out of his nose onto his jacket. He then played it off and said "Oh, you poor thing are you getting sick???" And we told him that it was a "great sales" pitch I threw him a thumbs up and started to walk out.
I was disgusted at that comment, like if that dog was sick, wouldn't they ALL be sick?? Then he followed us out and asked if we wanted to see more Yorkies. We said that was the reason why we were there and why didn't he say something earlier?? He started looking over his shoulder and seemed a little nervous. Don't know what that was about... I swear I felt like I was doing something illegal, he was so bizarre. So we had to leave the store and walk a few feet towards the back in a different entrance. I waited outside with my kids and my husband walked in and the guy took out two Yorkies. One had a dried out nose and was scratching his ear nonstop when he was put down and the other one was biting at the guy's leg. I mean biting like "going to town" on this guy. Very aggressive. He said the dogs were born back in October and they were $650. It was also very bizarre.
My husband asked why they were in the back and the guy said that they were nursing with its mother so when he asked to see the mother, the guy went in another room and took out this old Yorkie that had white around its mouth, white whiskers, and said that was the mom but the babies weren't even going by its "so called mom" and that was another red flag. This clearly was not a dog of breeding age, it was very old. I guess it was some type of storing room for the dogs that have issues??? I don't know. The address was 1690 80th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11214, Phone: 718-259-2295, and he gave us a business card that read Molly's Yorkies, a/k/a Mia's Yorkies and Nycyorkie.com is their web address. They advertise in the Daily News and on New Jersey Websites.
I guess they fool a lot of people. I grew up a few blocks away and the minute we stepped out we were expecting a private home but instead was a store. It wasn't a waste of a trip I still have family there so it wasn't so bad. But Very misleading and I'm sure a lot of people fall for it. Very sad, for animals and people who buy sick pets from them. We think about it now and still shake our heads, it was a odd experience but thankfully we didn't get any animals from them. They probably all get their dogs from the Midwest puppy mills and that's why they are all sick. BEWARE Please.

They lie to you over phone about the price first of all. When you walk in, there are about 12 diff. breeds of dogs in cages! Puppy MILL! I drove 3 hours from Mass. and had decided I didn't drive all the way to come home without a dog! So I bought a Yorkie. The dog was totally sick and weak. I had to force feed it and I sold it 3 days later for the same amount, $1,000. I just knew it wasn't going to be a healthy dog for 15 years! Just a disappointment! Very sad how they treat the dogs here. It's just another puppy MILL and you will be able to tell that as soon as you walk in!!!! Do not buy here!!!!!!!

I went to Puppy Boutique to get a Yorkie for my daughter's 6th birthday. I had seen that the place is clean so I figure I try it out. I was looking at the Yorkies...but to be honest, they do look like they are tired. So I was there for a minute figuring out which puppy I will buy. The lady came out with a half Yorkie and half Maltese. It was cutest puppy. As she saw me she wanted me so I told my husband I want her... So far she is healthy and no problems. She is a very smart puppy and we name her Bella.. We did not go to their doctor. I don't trust the free doctor they send you to. I took her to PetSmart clinic and has the best care...

It takes me in traffic almost 2 hours to get there from where I live and I don't mind and the guy that you deal with on the phone is a great guy. If these people thought the place was so bad, then why didn't you leave and buy your dog some place else, just saying . This place is shady and everyone is saying the same things. I bought my shih tzu in April 2013 and was lied to about the price. When I got there the price was 650 plus tax - I was told 450 on the phone! Anyways my dog seems pretty healthy so far but in the beginning it was hard. He got kennel cough and had a hard time adjusting. Now 3 months later he's healthy! However when I bought him I didn't notice a bump on his tummy, my groomer pointed out, it's a hernia that I'm going to have removed when he gets neutered. I wish I took more time to check him properly the day I got him, but the store is so pushy and they rush you to make a decision! I love my pooch but I hate that place!!! They must abuse the dogs because my dog would sit and lay in his urine when we 1st got him. Also if he heard a plastic bag he would be so frightened!! This store should really be shut down, they don't care about the puppies at all!!!

I called on internet and was told they were private breeders and when we showed up, it was a different place and was a puppy store. We drove 2 hours and spent $100 in tolls and gas. When we arrived, it was the same guy on the phone with a diff. name and they were rude and nasty. We were advised that they don't have any dogs for $500 as we were promised and I advised them I have emails and he said, "Take it or leave it." The place looked like a puppy mill. We were told that there was one dog for $600. We were promised that we could buy (over the phone) a female for $500 and this was a scam. We were told they don't hold dogs and there are none for $500. It would cost us $950.00 plus tax.
They sold us a small female puppy for $650 which came to $709 with tax. They made us pay the difference on the price which came to $709. We feel we are owed the difference of $209 of the $500 price. In addition, our daughter was very stressed out. She is 13 years old this week and this is her birthday gift. She was very upset about this whole experience and the long drive home in traffic. In addition, the dog threw up twice on way home and we are hoping the dog is not sick. They claim there is a 14-day return only if the dog is sick. They stressed out our family and my daughter.
This place is a bait and hook trick. They have many names and numbers on the computer net and should be fined and/or shut down. They were very rude and nasty and kind of creepy and scary with a buzzer on the door that locks you in after you enter or leave. They misrepresent themselves and play games to get you all the way over there with your children. It is a total rip off.
I am also a vet and served with the army after 911 and in NYC with the PA police dept. for tunnels and bridges at the time and currently work for the state of NJ. We were tricked and I should have known better. I have just read all the complaints on the web about this place and see this is their way of doing business. Also, they claim on the phone and web that it's a private address and it seems like a breeder in a family house with 12 puppies. That is why we went. I am taking the dog to the vet to make sure she is not sick because they said we can only have this one for that price only and she is small. The place was a real sham. So all said and done, with gas tolls and fees, she cost us about $800. So if she is ill, we are going to have a legal problem with this place for sure. They should be shut down for misleading people and families with false promises and lies to the public while breaking little kids' hearts - a darn shame and dirty pool in such a great country. Shame, shame.

First, I would like to say that I love my new puppy. His name is Aspen! I just want new puppy owners to be aware of a couple of things. When you get your puppy, do not listen to the instructions and cage your puppy all day. This is unheard of! I brought my puppy to the vet because he got very sick and my vet said puppies need to run around until they tire themselves out. I had my puppy in the cage all day and only let him out twice a day, just like the instructions say. Also, all of the meds that they want you to give your two pound puppy are insane. This was making my puppy sick and he would not eat. We were giving him 8 syringes and that caused him to vomit all day. When you get your puppy, try not to give him all the medicine they tell you. Give little doses if you must and please let your puppy explore and play. I almost saw my puppy die and would not want anyone to go through what I went through. He is all better now and is full of life!

I can't believe I fell for this scam. This has been a $1,090.00 lesson learned. Never buy from these people. They scam you out of your money. They told me their dogs range from $450.00 to $750.00. But when I got there, I was told another price. I was blinded by the cuteness of these dogs. Please don't fall like I did. They are located at 8002 17th Avenue Brooklyn, NY. Never buy from them! Okay first of all, I googled "yorkie puppies" trying to find a breeder. I came across one in Brooklyn about two months ago. I was texting this man and he said he has a bunch of puppies and to come to his house. He said the most the puppies would cost is $700 for one. I got his address and came to his house, which turned out to be a puppy store. Once I got there, this man I spoke to wasn't even present (weirdest scam ever). These people were not friendly and seemed aggravated people were even there giving them business. So nonetheless, I bought my puppy, which turned out to be $1,200 because "it was a female." I don't know what the difference is. We left.
Literally 2 days later, my puppy was lethargic and unresponsive. She was hypoglycemic. About a week later, she developed a horrible cough and was in the hospital for 3 days due to her kennel cough, hypoglycemia and her lack of appetite. Close to $3,000 later, she was sent home. She was constantly vomiting and not eating the entire time I had her as well. I took her to the vet again because she wasn't eating even close enough to what a normal, healthy puppy should eat. $300 later, she was sent home with prescription dog food because she was so underweight. Literally later on that night, I noticed my puppy was gliding her head along the perimeter of my apartment walls - guiding herself along the way. I picked her up and her eyes wouldn't focus on me. She was throwing up as she was walking and was completely unresponsive.
I was screaming her name and clapping and she couldn't hear a thing I was doing. She started profusely drooling from the mouth. I said enough is enough and rushed her to the emergency hospital once again. The vet said she was in a 100% mental retardation state and it looks like liver shunts (congenital liver disease), and she had to be admitted. She was admitted for 3 days again and was pronounced with liver shunts. Something she was born with, which means her parents had to have shunts as well (which dogs are not supposed to be bred with this disease). This disease is fatal if not treated and can lead to surgery, which alone is $5,000. She has to be on medication twice a day for the rest of her entire life. She still has episodes of weakness and falling over.
The last vet visit was another $3,000. This is the most insane thing that has ever happened to me with a pet. These people are liars and get dogs from puppy mills. They aren't breeders. I wish I would have known I was being tricked into buying a sick dog before I spent almost $10,000 since I bought my puppy. I called these people and they were rude and offered to give me a new dog. Who wants a new dog after falling in love with the one they already have? My baby is doing well now that she is medicated and has to be on prescription dog food for the rest of her life, which by the way both are not cheap.
Do not buy a dog from these people. It's a scam and every dog is sick. Do not go through the heartbreak, tears and financial burden that I went through. Buy a dog from a shelter and save yourself the hassle.

I was scammed to come out there from New Jersey, sit in traffic with my kids, pay $25 in tolls to get there and back, and have only the cash to purchase a Yorkie puppy for the talked about price of $450. I spoke with James **, who also goes by the name of Noah ** on his website, who acted like the owner/breeder. He gave me the address. I got there to find out it's a store that actually has an entrance on another street (same building) with a different address. Go in, the puppies are so cute and playful. My daughters were so excited and the manager, a different guy, didn't even look up at me or seem eager to sell. He said that he didn't think he had Yorkies for $450 - that they're all $550 and up, but he could give me a sick Shih Tzu for $450. I was crushed. My daughters and wife were crushed.
We only had enough for the Yorkie promised to us earlier that very same day. Without looking us in the eyes, he kept saying that they don't hold dogs for anyone. So then why couldn't the guy I spoke to on the phone earlier tell me that? The guy wouldn't budge in the price even when we told him that our dog of 10 years had died the week prior and we needed a new puppy to share our lives with and help with the emotional struggle my 4 kids were dealing with. He said that wasn't his problem. The nerve! They bait and try to hook. Don't go there! Be wary of puppy mills like this one. This is a horrible place! I do not know how they are even still in business! I purchased my puppy last Friday on 11/30/2011. They said they also carried Malteses, so I called and inquired about them. I explained to the man on the phone that I was driving from about 2 hours away and he said they had Maltese available. When I get there they should still be there. By this time I had already traveled to the place, so I went in to take a look. The people were very rude and shady from the start. They were telling me to hurry up because they close at 9, so I was a little rushed. They said they did not have anymore Maltese so I was out of luck.
Apparently the person who answers the phone is not even really at the store! I opted for a yorkie but then they brought me a sick looking one from the back. Who knows why it was less and what kind of conditions he was being kept in in the back. We decided to go with a morkie, a Maltese yorkie. He looked nice and healthy and we paid $750 plus tax for him.
The next day I brought him to the vet and he checked out fine. After I came home and researched about the Puppy Boutique I found millions of horror stories. I thought I got lucky until yesterday. My puppy is severally ill. He had to be rushed to the emergency hospital last night, costing me $130. My primary vet then had to come in and keep him over night and run test and that was $360. Today I was told I have to bring him to a specialist, so I had to travel to Oradell where he is now staying over night and the bill is being estimated at $1900-$3000. When I called the Puppy Boutique they said I had to bring him to their vet. I told them I refuse.
My puppy is dying and needs a specialist not a vet. My puppy was twitching at his lip uncontrollably, non stop foaming from the mouth, shaking, not eating, and hardly moving. They are suspecting that he has a shunt liver which will require surgery eventually. Just to figure out if that is the problem, I have to pay for all these expensive tests. They only want to cover up to $800 (the cost of the puppy) since I did not take him to their vet even though their contract says they will pay for medical bills.
I called and complained to the AKPC because it is quite obvious they sell sick puppies. They said they have checked them out plenty of times but they have their license up to date so there is not more they can do. They told me call the Dept. of Mental Health which I did and they said under the lemon law they have to refund me my money. We have only had the puppy for 10 days and look what has happened to us. I would never bring our little chili back because me and my boyfriend have already grown so attached to him. I called and asked that the breeder contact me and I’m still waiting! I’ll be lucky to ever see a penny from them! Spread the word! Do not buy puppies from this place!

All contracts and guarantees stated that "WE OFFER A ONE YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE, 2 FREE VET EXAMS, AND PROVIDE 14 DAYS FOR YOU TO HAVE THE PUPPY CHECKED OUT BY A VET OF YOUR CHOOSING TO CONFIRM THE HEALTH OF YOUR NEW PUPPY"
Please help me. The complaints online are horrific and others, I'm sure, are in my situation. They were sued last year by a Staten Island woman and court awarded her $5,000.

I purchased a Yorkie for $1,100. The store gave me a contract saying the puppy had no known illness; congenital or hereditary problems. The dog has liver disease and will die. The store refused to pay any medical bills, and refused to do anything. After doing my research, I found out that the Puppy Boutique and owner Stuart are NOT breeders. They buy all the puppies from puppy mills. All the puppies in the store have illnesses and diseases. Most people who have purchased a puppy from Stuart and the Puppy Boutique has lost their puppies with a few months.
Do NOT buy any puppies from this store. Go to your local pet store, and buy a healthy puppy. All the puppies for sale in the Puppy Boutique (8002 17th Street, Brooklyn are all sick puppies) will eventually die. That is why the price tag is less. You will spend a fortune on medical bills within two weeks of your purchase, and you will not be able to recoup money from Stuart. If there is anyone out there that has experienced this, you can take Stuart and the Puppy Boutique to the small claims court. You can Google, “Staten Island Woman Sues Puppy Boutique”.

I purchased my Yorkie from Puppy Boutique in 2004. Yorkie was born without testicles. Had to have surgery at 3 months. Bouts of kennel cough upon bringing him home. Rocco died just one month short of his 6th birthday of encephalitis of the brain which is common in cross bread pups. I was also given false pure breed papers. This company now has several company names because of all of the bad review/complaints. Some of them are www.***.com and www.***.com. Beware! They are all the same company and should not be in business! They breed these pups for profit to only have countless hearts broken and these poor pups suffer!

I bought a teacup chihuahua, 11 weeks old. The next day, I rushed her back. She was lifeless and they have her the syrup for blood sugar, she was a bit better. Then a few days later, I woke up to my son crying. She was dead, but was still alive, barely breathing and mouth tightly shut and pooping on herself. I rushed her to the hospital, they kept her and said the sugar was low and possible liver problem. We couldn't function the whole day or night. We are going to the vet now to see if she will survive. A lady I met at the Puppy Boutique was there because she bought two dogs there and within a week, they both died. This is a shame, these poor puppies and families that have to suffer due to negligence of the store.

I called to inquire about a Maltese puppy. I was told that the most expensive dog was $750.00 for a Teacup Maltese. When I arrived at the store, I found that their cheapest dog was $750.00, and not for a teacup, but rather a standard size Maltese. I decided to purchase one of their "standard" dogs for $750.00, we named her Mia. We were informed that all dogs were healthy and vet checked and they had no disease or breeding issues.
The day after we got Mia home, she began bleeding rectally and throwing up. I rushed her to the emergency vet where she was put on fluids for dehydration and kept for 12 hours and given fluids/medicine to stop her bleeding/vomiting. Two days later, she is still ill and has started on another round of medications. We are still in the process of doing tests to find out what exactly is wrong with her. Though I have tried several times to contact The Puppy Boutique about this issue, I have not been able to get through to anyone who is willing to help me. The consequences, aside from the emotional distress that myself, my husband and my three young children have been through, including economic loss of over $800.00 in vet bills, in addition to "normal" visits/vaccinations.

I always wanted a chihuahua puppy and I saw that the Puppy Boutique was near me and had chihuahuas. I went there 06/03/09 and asked for the chihuahua and they came with 2 of them from the back. I chose one and she cost me $989 because she was supposed to be a miniature. Also they gave me antibiotics and karo syrup. I felt that it was odd for them to give me antibiotics. After 5 days at home, she began vomiting and she didn't eat but I gave her antibiotics and it went away within a week. She is my life. I love her to death but now she has a cracked jaw and her tongue only comes out on the left side and she was always itchy in her ears. I just feel this is a very horrible place. She is healthy now but will always have a crooked mouth. The people at the business are very snobby and dirty. I do not recommend this place for anyone. I feel very hurt to see that she tries so hard to lick the right side of her mouth but she cannot and people make fun of her also. I love her flaws and all, but it emotionally hurts.

I bought my puppy from Puppy Boutique on 17th Avenue Brooklyn. His name is Sushi. A couple of nights ago, he escaped from the back yard. Well, needless to say, he got lost. So I found him. NYPD had picked him up and took him to the Animal Control Center (a kill shelter) on 110th street in Manhattan. I was so relieved he wasn't hurt. I was trying to get him as soon as possible so I called Puppy Boutique from my job to ask them to fax me the record of purchase for my dog. The first young lady told me she didn't have time.
So I called back to speak to the manager, "Stew." When I spoke to him and explained my situation, I told him it was urgent and I was desperate to get my puppy back from this kill shelter. He then proceeded to say he didn't have time and that he had customers in his shop. I stayed calm and asked him to please do me the favor. He then said, "Well, how did you let your dog get away anyway?" I still stayed calm because at that point, I needed the requested. He had a 3-hour span to fax me the paper. He never did.
Basically, the moral of the story is that this man who runs Puppy Boutique on 17th Avenue in Brooklyn does not care about the animal's life at all or his customers. He only cares about the money he can make from the small animals after they leave and you have to give him his precious money. He doesn't care what happens to his customer or the small puppies he sells. I would not suggest that you purchase from this store. I just feel sorry for the puppies that are there and his future customers.
I believe that this man would be shut down if anyone with the authority took the time to investigate just based on the rest of the stories I have read on this site. Remember, a breeder should care about the animals they are selling. If they don't, they don't take care of them like they should. If I didn't have the people that care about me, I would probably have a dead puppy. I had a lot of help getting him back and looking for him.
When I finally found him and found out I had a deadline to pick him up, I called desperately for help because my proof of purchase was at home and I was at work and couldn't have made it in time to get him. And this man and his associate couldn't take 5 minutes to fax me this document so my puppy could come home to my 3 -ear old son and myself where he is happiest and safe.

I get there and the store was literally a zoo. It took almost 2 hours before anyone could help me. When I picked out the Maltese I wanted, I was told 900. I immediate called Jim and told him I was in his store and that he had only told me a few hours ago the dog would be $550. I got him down to $800 and then I was taxed. What the **?! About 4 years ago, my family pet of 7 years passed away after being hit by a car. My parents, my brother and I were all emotionally devastated. We decided to get another dog of the same breed (chihuahua). I haven't even heard of The Puppy Boutique until the day my parents called both my brother and I out there as they were already waiting. I'll never forget the first chihuahua my eyes laid on. He was so adorable. He felt so little in my lap when I was playing with him a little before deciding this was the puppy I wanted. I wish I could remember the monetary details of buying the puppy but honestly I can't remember. The only thing that rings in my mind is the fact it was not even within, not even two days, since we brought him home when he became lethargic and refused to eat. From the moment he was taken away from me (to the vet), I never saw him again. When my parents said I could not have him back, I didn't even want to ask whether or not the puppy was still alive. Update from Cheryl in Staten Island:
On my last post, we had taken our lil boy Theodore home, trying to help him gain strength to possibly undergo surgery for a liver shunt. Unfortunately, that never happen and we lost our lil boy a short while after. It has taken me some time to be able to talk about this for my daughters and I are still so heartbroken over our loss, nine months later. Theodore would have been two years old last week on Christmas. Sadly, he never made it past 15 months old. We will always hang his stocking, wish him a happy birthday and one day be with him again. No one should ever experience this awful situation with a pet. Not to mention all the pain and suffering he went through.
Tears run down my face as I sit here trying to make people aware of the awful business The Puppy Boutique is operating. I know our lil guy is in heaven, no longer in pain, but a void has been left in our hearts that can never be filled. Please, please do not purchase a puppy from this place. Find a reputable breeder or even go to a shelter and adopt. God bless all the little suffering pets from this puppy mill. One last word about this place: They never once tried to help us. Just kept asking us to fax them the copies of all the reports, then would not return our calls.

First of all...making a complaint on this website is the second step I did... It's nice to warn other people where not to go but these are breathing animals not objects of poor quality... Please do report any animal abuse to ** like I did so they can go investigate and make an arrest. This way the ASPCA can give them to loving people who want to adopt =). Here's my story... False advertisement... Went there and the man was more concerned with my wallet and jumped the price when I arrived. All dogs were dirty... lots of coughing... rolling around in urine... and could not see the back area of store where he kept emerging with 'cheaper' dogs, that were still overpriced. These are living animals not manufactured goods to manhandle. They breathe, eat, feel, etc. He was also in a rush but the store was still open because I kept asking a lot of questions he just did not want to answer.

When my family and I were looking for a puppy, I searched through newspaper ads and I came across a telephone number whom was listed as a private breeder. When I spoke with the man, he was very rude and stated that the puppies cost $500. On January 20, 2006 we went to the Puppy Boutique, after almost two hours, we purchased our Pomeranian, who had already had cold, for $900. Once in our car finally going home, our puppy vomited.
Through out his short life, we must have taken him to vet due to illnesses at least 15 times and spent thousands of dollars. Sadly on the weekend of April 18, 2008 our Pomeranian became very sick, we took him to the vet on Monday April 21st and they automatically hospitalized him. He had suffered kidney failure due to under-developed kidneys because of neglect when he was very young. On the depressing day of April 23, 2008 our puppy, Kiko, had to be put to sleep.
The reason I am writing this complaint is for our sick puppy and so no family will go through the heart-break and pain our family has felt due to our lose. Personally I wish that no body purchase a puppy from these terrible people, instead adopt or purchase from a real breeder who owns the parents.
Our puppy had to be put to sleep due to kidney failure.

Dec 22, 2006 We purchased a toy yorkie for our 4 daughters. We named her Lilly. She was adorable. We had Lilly for 18 months when on day we came home and Lilly was having a seizure on my living room floor. My 2 daughters witnessed Lilly's lifeless body. She was foaming at the mouth. We were crying hysterical.
Lilly was taken to the vet. We were told she would have to stay over night for testing but most likely her condition was due to a hereditary problem with her liver (liver shunt it was called). We were advised to take our precious dog to Red Bank, NJ because they have doctors in the facility all night. Lilly was too sick to be left unattended.
We gave them all of her lab tests and upon her exam it was confirmed Lilly had a liver shunt. Medication was a short term option. But was told by the vet she would die slowly. This was not a cure just to prolong her life. Surgery was $5000.00 but may not work. Lilly's liver was very bad. She was very sick and only 3.8 pounds. Her tiny body may not be able to handle the surgery.
My husband, myself and the vet all agreed Lilly should be put to sleep. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to do (since we just put our 13 yr old dog to sleep 5 weeks prior) The vet said this was a problem Lilly was born with and that we should contact Puppy Boutique.

On 9/16/07, we (husband, 4-year old son and I) purchased a teacup Yorkshire Terrier - Fig - from the Puppy Boutique owned by Jim and Gilda for approximately $1100.00. On 9/23/07, we had to take Fig to a Pet Emergency Center due to the fact that he was lethargic and vomiting. He was hacking frequently and having paroxymal fits before vomiting. The cost for the emergency visit was $785.
As recommended by the emergency vet, we followed up with our vet the next day where he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection that was likely contracted from the other dogs where he was purchased. Our vet wrote a letter on our behalf that I sent to Gilda so she was aware of Fig's condition. We had to give him regular breathing treatments with prescribed medication through a nebulizer and oral antibiotics.
On 10/5/07, we had to take Fig back to the vet due to loss of appetite, severe weakness and difficulty breathing. He was kept overnight and diagnosed with and treated for pneumonia. The visit costs $619.59. Our vet called Jim to inform him of Fig's condition and the cost for treatment. He agreed to reimburse us for treatment and so we proceeded with the visit. I frequently updated Gilda on Fig's condition. She informed me that they were in the process of moving and provided me with a fax to fax her the receipts.
Puppy Boutique did reimburse us approximately $1600.00 for Fig's medical expenses which included the $78.50 for a follow up visit with the vet. On 10/24/07, we took Fig to the vet for a regular check up and to continue with his scheduled vaccinations. Since he had presented with high white cells and high toxins in his lab work previously, lab work was done to determine if he could get his vaccinations and rabies shots at the time. This costs $60 and due to the high counts we were not able to administer the rabies shot and other vaccinations.
From the time of purchase, Fig remained sickly with unsatisfactory labs and an inability to retain food. On 12/14/2207, we had to take Fig to the vet again when his behavior was strange. He seemed disoriented and would walk around rubbing his head against any hard surface he could find and he would roam and walk in cirlces. The vet did lab work - bile acids test, liver profile and cbc with liver differential - which costs $240 and she prescribed medication for Fig to take with meals - Enulose - which costs $30. Fig was diagnosed with a congenital condition called Portisytemic Shunt. While we could try to treat the condition with the daily medication and a low protein diet, the prognosis for already sickly and weak Yorikie's with this condition was not good and it was likely that his condition would worsen over time and that he would eventually die.
We continue to care for Fig the best we could as we had grown attached to Fig, especially my son but today we had to euthanize him. The emotional toll, continued expenses and witnessing of Fig's continuous illness, frequent vomiting and dehydration was unbearable for all. This morning Fig could barely walk, was severley fatigued and dehydrated despite having had a full meal and water earlier. The condition does not allow his body to absorb nutrients and he became dehydrated quickly. In consultation with his vet, who said that the condition would continue to worsen we decided to euthanize him. The costs for euthanization and cremation $240. The pain and suffering of Fig, of my son and husband and I - immeasurable. This was my son's first pet. My desire is to be compensated for expenses and pain and suffering and to put Gilda and Jim permanently out of business. We are now certain Fig was likely obtained from a puppy mill.

But the sales woman was so busy, they didn't have time to take care of me. So I left.
I looked in their website, I saw one I liked very much, his name was Alex. He was $850.00 on the website. I called at the store and asked if I could have him for less money. So the answer woman told for $650.00 I can have him. So last sunday on August 17, I went back at that store but they told me the puppy Alex was not $650.00 but $850.00. That was impossible someone told me that. I liked him very much, he was looking like the one I just lost on July 6. I gave them $250.00 deposit and the sales women told me to come get him next Friday, August 22. He had to see the vet and have his health certificate before they give him to me.
So today Tuesday p.m. August 19, I went back see my little puppy Alex. And I saw before I went at the store on my computer before I went there the puppy was pricing at $650.00. So when I went at the store I showed them a printing of my puppy Alex saying he was $650.00 not the price they charged me $850.00. I spoke with the owners, and they still telling me this is not true. I said to them they are very not honnest. I am making a complaint againts that store I feel they are stealing me the $200.00. They are telling me a price , on the phone, they are showing a price on the website and when I go at the store they charge you $200.00 more.

The Dealer brought out two all tan dogs that were being shown to a man the dealer said had previously purchased from their store. The strange man told us how good the store was and how these dogs were the best Poms around for that price.
Well, the Boutique started the selling price $1200.00 because of the dogs unique color and small snout. By refusing to buy the dog at the above price they negotiated the last two Poms for $926.00. After having the dog for two months we noticed that our Pomeranian did not resemble her breed. The Puppy Boutique sold my family a mixed breed that they claimed to be pure.
Being decieved by The Puppy Boutique mentally hurt my family because we thought we owned a pure Pomeranian only to be emmbarised when the truth was reviled. Now, the dog is a member of the family but economically shes not worth the monies they charged.

The one year guarantee they advertise is absurd. I traveled all the way to NYC to pick up a puppy that I thought would be the same one that Puppy Petite emailed me a picture of. It wasn't, however I purchased him anyway. Before traveling to NYC, the owner emailed me and told me the prices for their teacup yorkies were between $500-$1500; however, they were realistically between $1000-$2500. I purchased my baby for $1600...only for him to die 2 weeks later due to congenital problems. When my puppy initially got sick I took him to the vet and was told he'd have to be hospitalized.
I immediately called Puppy Petite to see how they wanted to handle paying for his hospital bill because in their guarantee they state that they'll cover all medical expenses if it's due to congenital disorder. Puppy Petite told me that they would not reimburse me unless I took the puppy to one of their vets in NYC. Can you believe they wanted me to bring my puppy 400+ miles to NYC in order for them to cover the vet expenses? My vet estimated the costs to be $2000+ dollars and there was no guarantee that my puppy would survive. Due to the high costs, I chose to have my puppy stabilized and transported to NYC with an IV to Puppy Petites vet so they could cover the costs.
My puppy eventually died due to a congenital disorder and Puppy Petite refused to give me a new puppy or a full refund for the purchase price. I'm still trying to battle with them to receive a refund. Please do not purchase from this pet store, they have negative ratings from Consumer Reports and have changed their business name a couple of times to stay in business. They are also known as Puppy Boutique.
I made three trips to NYC, had several vet bills and my puppy died and they refused to give me a replacement. This caused monetary and emotional loss for myself and my family.

2 days before Christmas my husband and I decided that we would take our 5 and 10 yr. old children to pick out a puppy for Christmas. We fell in love with a Teacup Yorkie at the Puppy Boutique store in Brooklyn, New York. We named him Max. My 5 yr. old daughter chose this name because my husband asked why this dog was so much more money than the rest. The woman working there replied, because he would get up to 4 pounds Max! That was it we chose our dog Max. The next day was Christmas Eve and he appeared ok. Christmas morning he was coughing, not eating or drinking, and sleeping all day. I gave him Robitussin as told and Dec. 26 in the morning I brought him to one of the vets that the store recommends. They said he had kennel cough and would be fine!
2 hours later on my ride home to Vermont, the new puppy Max that we have now fallen in love with, is lifeless with his eyes rolling back. I pulled over and gave him the karo syrup I got when I purchased the puppy. I had bought a syringe to force water because he wasn't drinking and gave him water also. I called a vet in Vermont and they told me about a vet hospital only 10 minutes from where I was. This is our 4th day with our new puppy. Since we bought him at night we really only had him for 3 full days. He stayed at the animal hospital for 7 days in an incubator with an I.V. in him. We visited him everyday and watched him die slowly from pneumonia caused from the kennel cough we took him home with. We never thought in a million years that we would go through a horrible loss like we did. He died in my arms. The vet was crying when I arrived in the room to go visit my new puppy. She said that she was so sorry and feels horrible that she doesn't want to kill him, but he is suffering horribly today and will not make it out of the hospital. When I went to see him he was so little and gasping for air horribly.
My vet bill was $2,600.00. I called the puppy boutique and they told me to go back to the hospital to retrieve my dead puppy and mail him fedex so they can do an autopsy! I faxed everything along with mailing all the hospital records and a cd of the lungs x-rayed and filled with ****/ pneumonia. We argued for a week. They said if I ever wanted a refund that they needed the dog back. I explained that we loved our puppy Max and all we had left was a corpse to bury in our yard and sad memories of a love lost. They said that I had to ask the animal hospital to freeze him then ship him on ice fedex. The animal hospital said that Massachusetts state law forbids them to do such a thing! I told the puppy boutique that I had been through enough and there is no way that I can bring myself to go to the store, buy dry ice and a box, pick up my dead puppy, put him in the box, then fedex him.
They said they were sending someone from N.Y. to get my puppy Max. After the puppy sat frozen over a week I was informed that they I went to the animal hospital and picked up a box that looked like a lil. white coffin. Inside was my dead puppy with his favorite blanket! I buried him in my yard chipping away at the frozen earth for hours just to keep him nearby. After arguing with the Puppy Boutique on many occasions I eventually did get my $1,900.00 back that I paid for him. The $2,600.00 that I paid for the animal hospital trying to save my puppy I never saw again. They would not refund that. They have changed my view forever on puppy stores.

I went to Puppy Boutique because I had a chihuahua at home who needed a friend and I needed a Yorkie in my life. I lost a teacup Yorkie to a liver shunt problem so I was afraid to buy another Yorkie but even with my fear I had to take my chance. I went to Puppy Boutique and luckily I had a good experience with them and bought my Yorkie, Chili. However, Chili did have a few issues. His testicle never dropped. I never got him neutered because I was afraid they would have to open up his abdomen to remove the testicle. I bought a toy sized Yorkie and I wanted something like a 5 or 6 pound dog, but Chili is a hunky 12 pounds. He's much bigger than I thought, but we adore Chili so much. He's a year now and I want more. I wold love another Chihuahua but a teacup, but my husband said NO MORE dogs, we have 2 already and not much room for them. I loved the fact that they had such a huge selection they just kept bringing dog after dog out to see me and I was so scared to pick the wrong dog. But I loved the whole adoption experience I felt like I was adopting a child. It was great for me.

On February 3rd I purchased a Chihuahua at Puppy Boutique for $650.00. Immediately after arriving home I realized that she had kennel cough and wheezing. Within days it worsened and upon calling the Puppy Boutique to inform them, they quickly dismissed me and advised that I take her to the vet because she was due for a routine vaccination.

I bought a Chihuahua at the Puppy Boutique last year in November. They explained what all the medications and vitamins were for but I noticed that my puppy had problems breathing. When I took her to the vet they told me she had a cold. They said I should watch her and give her medication. I can't remember exactly how much I spent on antibiotics but I shouldn't have had to spend money on that anyway. She got rid of the cold about two weeks later but still has a problem breathing.
