Everything worked out fine. The shipment was on time after all, and the return was free for the extra rug.
I ordered a rug. The website froze and said it didn't go through so I ordered it again. Then I got two emails confirming both orders, so I called and cancelled one immediately. They didn't. Then I got double messages that both rugs would be late, which wasn't helpful since I ordered the rug for a specific event, which was a day before the updated, late delivery of the rug. Really bad customer service.
I bought a dining table from them in September 2022. It was damaged but instead of returning it I took a $155 credit. I paid for this table in September. In December they charge me again for the table. My credit card took it off my bill, January 16 they charge me again although this was completely paid for in September. I cannot get Them to remove this charge of $963. I now have filed with the court. This is the worst company I have ever ever dealt with.
I'm not even a customer of Overstock, but I've been received 4 text messages in the past week saying I've ordered something and it's out for delivery. I politely told them the first time that I'm not a customer of theirs and you need to direct it to the proper person. Overstock apologized and I thought that would be the end of it. Not quite! I received back to back text messages over the course of the week saying I ordered rugs and floor mats. The customer service got even worse after that. They said it would be taken care of but as of today I received yet another text from them. I blocked them and now I'm writing a review based off their terrible customer service. Judging from all these other reviews, it looks like I dodged a bullet. I will not be using Overstock in the future!
I ordered a green rug 10/29/22. A rug arrived 11/3/22. I did not open it right away as I was waiting for my new puppy to stop peeing. I just opened it 1/15/22 and they sent a dark brown rug. I called and was told the return period had expired but if I "joined" their company for $20 they'd do a return. I "joined" and called 1/19/22 and was told that even though I got that membership the most they could do was credit me $10 for a $150 purchase. THEY SENT ME THE WRONG ITEM. I was hold on for 50 minutes to speak to a supervisor whose name was not available and for 40 minutes there were 5 callers ahead of me. They sent me the wrong item. A $150 purchase. This is fraud.
I am a Oclub member, my husband brought a table and chair from his phone thinking because items are coming to same household and because we are husband and wife we would get our points. We were told because he used his phone and went through his email we can't get our points. It was about 1200.00. We buy from them always this was terrible. My entire house is full of their things. It just feels hurtful.
11/9/2022 we had furniture purchased from Overstock.com and delivered by Overstock.com for $5,041.44. The furniture, leather sleeper sofa, (2) large leather arm chairs and (2) leather ottomans, and Overstock.com's delivery team simply slid all the furniture across my hardwood floors across the house to the living room. The Furniture and my floors were destroyed. This was on 11/9/2022 and as of today 12/18/2022 I still have the torn and damaged furniture in my home. Remove and dispose of the old damaged furniture because they don't want it back!! WHAT IS THAT! I sent CEVA Logistics and Overstock the estimate to repair my my floors. CEVA stated they're not paying for the repairs and Overstock.com stated I have to continue chasing CEVA Logistics for the cost to repair my floors which they damaged and it was caught on video. Just ridiculous.
I spent a good deal of time proving their listing and website error on a shelf only for them to attempt to gaslight me as if it were my fault for the wrong item being sent. They were not apologetic. They did not address the screenshot proof I had. And they made no effort to make things right. Specifically a color on the website for a shelf displays a totally different color than what I received. Their website has an error where it shows a picture of the wrong color. The text of the listing even indicates the wrong color. And apparently I'm supposed to know this error and anticipate their incompetence?
Despite their wrong descriptions, wrong advertising, and supposed great customer service they wanted me to pay return shipping for their error! The only customer service options they had was some bizarre texting exchange using your SMS. Good luck actually speaking to anyone. They do not care about your experience. They do not care about the products or their website being accurate. They act as if they're doing you a favor which is insulting. Buyer beware. If you do business use your credit card in case you need to charge back.
I ordered 4 expensive tactical flashlights on 11/22 as Christmas presents. On 12/7 I had received no update on my order and when I went into my account and checked the status it was simply pending. It had not been processed or shipped. I called the customer service line and the rep told me that my only option was to cancel my order as it appeared that it was not in process. She said "I've canceled your order. Is there anything else I can do for you today?" No. I thanked her and hung up.
FOUR days later, I get an email from overstock telling me "we couldn't cancel your order because it was processing in our warehouse..." or something like that. Well, great! I have already ordered 4 more tactical flashlights from another vendor and they ARE en route. When I check my account again on Overstock, it doesn't say that the item is shipped. It is still pending at the warehouse. So now I'm getting 8 tactical flashlights, although I doubt I will get the 4 from overstock before Christmas. Now I have the hassle of returning the 4 to overstock and I only have "3 free returns" per month. Just great. So I will never, ever order anything from overstock.com again and I recommend that you think hard about using them. I will call overstock again today and see if they can cancel my order but I doubt it. It is very frustrating and unnecessary in my view.
I ordered 4 chairs and the quality did not meet our expectations. I returned them and was charged more than 20% of their value for the return labels. Their website states that purchases made during the holiday season can be returned with full refund. I spent an hour with the representative pleading my case to no avail. Extremely disappointed in their service. Beware when ordering here.
I ordered a gazebo for $3700. Part of the offer was a $100 gift card to be emailed within 24 hours. I didn't receive it after 1 week, so I chatted with customer service. They said I would get it within 2 days, I didn't. I then called after apologies they said within 1 day, again no. So I tried calling again same story, no gift card. I am left to assume that they are thieves. Side note 2 weeks have gone by and order has not shipped yet.
I’m incredibly disappointed. I ordered a lift-you-up chair for my mom at 8pm on Halloween & was informed the delivery would be in 9 days. Sadly my mom was rushed to the hospital that night. The next morning, before I even saw my mother at the hospital I canceled the chair explaining the crisis situation, after hearing from the doctor that my mom would not be returning home from this hospital stay. Overstock acknowledged my cancellation request that morning & asked that I not make multiple communication to cancel, they would let me know how far along the process was. By 9pm that evening, they sent me an email saying they are shipping out the chair early & it will arrive at my mom’s house in 4 days.
Mind you, no one lives there anymore. My mom is in the hospital & they put a rush delivery on a $700+ chair, which obviously added to my stress (and I live hours away from my mom). It was horrible to know that in the 10 hours after acknowledging my cancellation, they couldn’t communicate to their own warehouse. I suspect they did communicate & it was to rush it out to avoid losing the sale. I called them, clarifying the many dilemmas I was dealing due to their lack of communication & they basically said “too bad for you.” They could only refund me my money if I shipped it back. It would cost hundreds of dollars to ship it back, but if I bought their ‘special program’ they would ship back for me.
The special program was cheaper than shipping, so there I was, being forced into paying for more things just to fix the lack of communication they have. And only after I paid for that did they tell me that they would not refund me! They were happily going to keep my money & I could have in store credit! Oh, and I needed to find a way to bring the massively big chair to a UPS store (I have a tiny car) in order for the shipping label to work.
There was absolutely no kindness from the acct manager Thea, she was cold & rude. I had to remind her that if she was refusing to refund my money that I was entitled to the special program they made me pay for at the start of the communication - according to their policy it is free, when you spend over $400. The customer service rep before her was at least kind. He tried to help but didn’t have clarity on information, he’s the one who told me I would be refunded if I bought this special program. All in all, I expect to sue for my refund. This company truly needs to reconsider their customer service. Whatever you are buying on Overstock, choose a different seller. The more money you spend here, the bigger the risk!
Order Date: 11/09/2022. Order Total: $446.30. Eccotemp i12 indoor 4.0 GPM Liquid Propane Tankless Water Heater. This water heater was listed around $360.00 with various shipping methods. I needed this heater by this weekend. I decided to order from Overstock simply because they had an option to get this heater, delivered to me, on 11/11. Amazon's price for this same heater was $309.70 with free delivery by 11/14. I ordered from Overstock and paid an extra $73.00 for expedited shipping (arrival on 11/11). This morning I received an update stating the that the heater would now be delivered by 11/14. Naturally, I was unhappy and reached out to Overstock to refund the shipping amount due to the update and due to the fact that other merchants were offering free shipping by 11/14. The declined by request and told me that the item would still be shipped within the 2 to 3 business day window.
They explained that the 2 to 3 business day window would be as such 11/10, 11/14 & 11/15, and that since 11/11 is a holiday it is not considered a business day. When I ordered (early morning on 11/9) I was led to believe that this item would make it to me on 11/11, because the Overstock website estimated that the item would arrive on that date. Overstock has declined to refund shipping on this item. Overstock has also decline to reduce the shipping cost this a lessor amount.
I felt as if there was plenty of time to get this product to UPS in time on 11/9 to get it overnighted to me for delivery on 11/11. If 11/11 was an issue due to it being a holiday, then Overstock shouldn't have listed 11/11 as the delivery date and placed such a high price on the shipping to suggest to a consumer that they would be able to deliver by then. Shop elsewhere. There are plenty of other sites that will treat you, as a shopper, better.
Never received. Asked for a refund and spoke to 2 separate reps weeks apart who said they had processed the refund but I never received it. Make sure to follow-up because they try to take your money hoping you take them at their word when they say they refunded you, when they don't. Still haven't received refund.
As a frequent on-line shopper, I assumed that Overstock would be similar to an Amazon or similar website. My advice is "READ THE FINE PRINT". You can make returns to Overstock, however I made a purchase of a tablecloth for $29.99 and had to return as it did not fit but received a credit for $2.41 after Overstock deducted shipping etc charges. BAD NEWS! Unfair business practices and only when I called to complain did they refund only half my purchase price. Overstock is over-rated and I will never buy from them again.
I'd done their lame "rewards" program for a few years. It's a $20 annual program that gives you credits toward future purchases. Their prices for their drop shipped stuff is already inflated, so I often found it hard to buy anything that was a good value, but I did get a mattress, and was able to get about $40 of credits from that purchase.
An item I wanted to get was always out of stock, so I decided to wait to use those credits. Turns out the credits are for the duration of the membership, NOT the time you bought the item to use them even when you bought them within the membership. So I would have to pay another $20 to access the $40 in credits I'd already earned months ago. What a scam! It's paying to access something you have already purchased. Overstock already inflates their prices past retail. There is really no need to shop with them anymore.
Finally I was able to close my account and dispute a membership fee that I never authorized! Thanks to customer service Zus, he went above and beyond to help me after I numerous times of calling and nobody couldn’t resolve my problem! Thank you sir for your help! But Overstock never again, Your whole system sucks! I do not recommend overstock!
Still on the phone for the 6th time today and on hold on and off for more than 1 hour for close my account which was paid in full 6 months ago, and now I found out I was charged $21 for membership fee! Just now someone answered and told me I have to write a letter to the headquartered and request a cancellation and a refund! Absolutely ridiculous! Worse company ever, Do not give Overstock any business. Is a big scam!
We ordered an item from Overstock.com, we provided our home address, but the item was delivered to a wrong address in a wrong city. We contacted them, they blamed Fedex, and refused to provide a refund. Never again. Beware.
After so many researches to buy a sectional I decide one from Overstock, beautiful model, the perfect color matching with rest of the new furniture for a new house: white. The house was still under construction when I received the delivery so I couldn't open the big package to avoid it damage. Two months later I opened the package and for my surprise the sectional was Beige and not white. I call them to clarify their mistake, I had requested and paid for a white one but they refused the claim. In spite of that I did not request my money back. I just wanted they change the piece to white.
I recently purchased two end tables from Overstock that were pictured as white marble with walnut legs. There wasn't a choice of colors listed, but if you looked carefully, there was a small box that said "white wash". Because ALL the pictures (even the one that said white wash) were shown with the walnut legs, I assumed that was what I was getting. When I received the tables with very, very unattractive (think the ugly part of the 70's) white washed legs, I attempted to return them.
The only way they would accept the return is for me to pay $130 in shipping. These tables were $140 each (so shipping would equate to me buying one of them) and very small. They were making more $ on me to charge that much in shipping (I went independently and it was $55) but to sell with such deceptive pictures and then not accept returns where they pay for it I think is very unfair business practices. Be careful--don't use the pictures--look carefully. This is how they get rid of their "overstock" no one else wants.
All I wanted was a payoff letter. After 4 days and 6 calls still don't have it. Every time I called I was told it would be sent to my email within 2 to 4 hours. I spoke to a supervisor and he told me I had to put it in writing and send it to them and then they would fax it to me, I was not happy about that and asked to speak to his supervisor and then I got hung up on, mind you this was after being on the phone with them for 1 hour. I called back again and got a new supervisor and he explained to me that everything I had already been told was not true, I could only get a payoff letter sent in the mail (in 7 days). Seems they cannot email it to me or even fax it because they do not have the ability. Billion dollar Overstock does not have the ability to fax or email a letter. Let that sink in!
I ordered a memory foam mattress and they shipped it late and I find the mattress is dangerous to sit on. Terrible harrowing experience, lousy customer service and escalation team who takes 7-10 business days to respond but they they will respond in 2 days.
EXCELLENT. I was nervous to order a table from Overstock because they had poor reviews. However I really liked the table. The Table is solid wood; was very easy to put together; was packed well and it shipped fast. I have no complaints; only compliments. Very satisfied.
Edit: Refund pending in my account as of today, 13 September 2022. Still waiting for carrier to pick up range hood.
I am completely at a loss as to why it is so difficult to process a return. My very first attempt to return this item was 20 August 2022, the day the damaged range hood arrived. It is now 7 September 2022, and I have yet to have this issue resolved after repeated attempts on my part to do so. After being an Overstock customer since at least 2011, this will be the last item I purchase from Overstock. And at this point, I am considering contacting the Better Business Bureau, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office Consumer Protection Unit, the California Attorney General’s Office, and proceeding with a formal complaint through my attorney. I have contacted Overstock over four times now to get this range hood picked up from my house, returned, and money refunded.
As I mentioned when I contacted Overstock customer support the previous three times regarding receiving this damaged range hood: The box arrived with holes, tears, dents, etc. The range hood is dented on both the left and right sides. I offered to provide images each time. We have since purchased the exact same range hood from a local Lowe’s store, and upon unboxing that range hood, we recognized that I had, in fact, been shipped a previously returned range hood from Overstock. We know this as when we unboxed the range hood from Lowe’s, we saw all the extra packing material protecting the hood that did not exist in the box shipped from Overstock. So not only was I shipped a previously returned hood from Overstock, it was not packaged properly and arrived damaged. I have no idea at this point if it was already damaged before being shipped to me, if it was damaged during shipment to me, or both. But this is entirely unacceptable.
I have provided the photos, as requested, screenshots from my initial attempt at requesting a return, and chat sessions from my previous chats. I also have photos showing how the range hood from Lowe’s was packaged as compared to how the range hood from Overstock was packaged. Absolutely, some of the worst customer service I have received from a company.
I received an email 3 days ago saying to expect my delivery yesterday and therefore made arrangements to be available. Now not only is it not here. It’s not even in the correct country, says delivered, and very clearly, even if it is still on its way, isn’t anywhere close to me. This is completely unacceptable, why bother me saying it’s going to be here when it’s not even close? I’m not impressed and have no clarification as to what is going on as it says delivered and even offers proof of delivery. I’m absolutely canceling this order or refusing delivery if it does one day arrive. I declined an important activity to be home for this and it was a complete waste of my time. Why is a “Canadian” site shipping from the US in the first place? Extremely misleading. Never again,
Purchased an outdoor rug from Overstock - in less than 3 months it began to unravel and shred! Obviously defective... I called their customer service and was told after a month, there's nothing they can do. Really... Mind you this product never made it through a full season or put another way, less than 1/4 of the year. I will never purchase from this company again. Always one to have nice items for a long time due to diligent maintenance and care, I prefer to purchase from a company who will stand behind their products even if the manufacturer doesn't!!
I bought a set of king size sheets. The fitted sheet split after 5 days. Had to jump through hoops to get a refund, e-label and all that. When I expressed my frustration that I had to be inconvenienced, especially after my delivery was delayed in the first place because they pared my address down to 3 lines, the customer rep accused me of lying and then had a field day mocking me. Don't use these jerks.
I had the worst experience from the Overstock.ca site. The customer service is horrible, they all say the same thing in robotic tone. I ordered the "nuLOOM Bohemian Textured High-Low Tassel Shag Area Rug", they cancelled my order without permission. I called them and they said they needed to "Identify me" which does not make sense because they already charged my credit card and let the transaction go through. Then, they said they will refund me but proceeded to ask if I would like to put on same order again since I wanted the rug. I agreed which was my mistake.
The refund never went through, they blamed that my credit card company refused but my credit card company didn't have anything to do with that and even gave a transaction authorizing code but Overstock still said they can't do anything about it and that I have to just dispute with my bank. I received the second order of my rug, it was delivered and I'm satisfied with it but I did lose the entire money for the first order. I don't recommend this company to anyone, it was my first time doing business with them. I saw a lot of reviews of people who also got scammed as well.
BE VERY AWARE that if you provide your credit card information to an Overstock.com representative that you are taking a very large risk. A rep named "Bon" took my credit card information to help make a purchase that wasn't working with the online ordering, said he would call me back in 15-20 minutes but did not. Within a few minutes of hanging up with him, my credit card company notified me that an unusual charge was made on my card of which I confirmed it was unauthorized so the card was shut down. Never heard back from "Bon" and my order was never placed as he said he would. Now in trying to help Overstock.com with their representative issue and fraudulent charge made, it seems that no one cares. It's been 3 weeks since I notified the company's Loss Prevention Department and upon following up with them, there has been no action taken or investigation underway. I'm now having to escalate the situation...
I ordered the Hi Riser Twin Bed With Pop Up Trundle. Upon opening the packaging, the bed frame was rusted in various different areas. The packaging was heavy duty cardboard and had to be cut apart to access the item. The packaging was also damaged. The bed frame is is very heavy. There was no way I could return the frame in the packaging it was sent in. Overstock wanted me to purchase packaging and ship it back to them. I can't lift it. I decided to keep it. I figure I'll just repaint it. I have attempted to leave reviews with pictures so other customers can be forewarned. Overstock denied my pictures of the bed frame and my reviews. Each time I submit my honest review, they deny it.
Ordered two accent chairs last January and got them a month later, assembled them and a few month later the wooden armchair broke in two pieces, called Overstock and they did not want to hear from me and not even repair it. Chairs like that should last years. Very bad customer service and very poor quality.
