Kubota recalls mowers and compact tractors

Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas, is recalling about 121,000 Kubota zero turn mowers, compact tractors, and ride-on mowers.

Hot coolant can spray out from the overheated and pressurized coolant reservoir tank, posing a burn hazard.

The firm has received three reports of burn injuries from coolant ejecting.

This recall involves model year 2014 to 2018 Kubota with model numbers BX, GR, ZD and ZG, diesel and gasoline-powered zero turn mowers, compact tractors, and ride-on mowers.

The model number is printed on the side of the unit. Kubota is printed on the side of the mowers and tractors. The data plate has the serial number and is also located on the side of the unit.

Recalled units are orange and black.

The mowers and tractors, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Kubota dealers nationwide from July 2014, through September 2018, for between $5,000 and $35,000.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mowers and compact tractors and contact Kubota to receive a free replacement coolant reservoir tank cap. Kubota is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Cub Cadet recalls zero-turn riding mowers

Cub Cadet of Cleveland, Ohio, is recalling about 5,200 Cub Cadet RZT SX EFI zero-turn riding mowers sold in the U.S and Canada.

The fuel tank’s neck can crack and cause fuel to leak, posing a fire hazard.

The company has received 15 reports of the fuel tank’s neck cracking. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves Cub Cadet model year 2018 RZT SX EFI residential zero turn riding mowers.

The yellow, four-wheel mower with steering wheel control is sold with a 42, 46 or 50-inch cutting deck. “Cub Cadet” is printed on the front and sides of the mower, and on the seat’s backrest. “RZT SX” is printed below the seat.

Models included in the recall are 17AWCBYS010, 17AWCBYZ010, 17RWCBYN010, 17RWCBYN210, 17RWCBYS010 and 17RWCBYZ010 and were manufactured between December 2017 and June 2018.

The model number and manufacture date in MM/YYYY format can be found on a label located under the seat frame.

The mowers, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at independent Cub Cadet dealers nationwide and online at www.PowerEquipmentDirect.com from December 2017, through August 2018, for between $3,000 and $3,500.

Briggs & Stratton recalls riding mowers

Briggs & Stratton of Wauwatosa, Wis., is recalling about 18,300 Snapper, Simplicity and Massey Ferguson riding mowers sold in the U.S. and Canada.

The reverse-mow option switch can malfunction and allow the riding lawn mowers to unintentionally mow when being driven in reverse, posing a risk of injury to bystanders.

No incidents or injuries are reported.

This recall involves Snapper, Simplicity and Massey Ferguson brand riding lawn mowers.

The mowers were sold in red/black or orange/black color combinations with a Snapper, Massey Fergusen or Simplicity logo on the hood. Riding mowers with the following model and serial numbers are included in the recall:

Husqvarna recalls residential zero turn riding mowers

Husqvarna Consumer Outdoor Products N.A. of Charlotte, N.C., is recalling about 7,100 residential zero turn riding mowers.

An incorrect routing of the fuel line can cause it to wear and leak, posing a fire hazard.

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

This recall involves Husqvarna and Poulan Pro brand residential zero turn riding mowers with a Briggs & Stratton twin cylinder engine sold in orange/black and yellow/black.

On the Husqvarna models, “Husqvarna” is printed on the side of the mowers. On the Poulan Pro models, “Poulan Pro” is printed on the front of the mower.

The model number and serial number are printed on the left-hand rail frame in front of the left rear drive wheel.
