These guys were great! Very professional, on time, and they seemed to actually care about not damaging anything and doing a great job. I want to say these were probably the best movers I’ve ever had and that’s saying something since I have moved around a lot.
This is the first time I used a moving company to move me. I have always done it myself. Bellhop had my move completed in four hours! This move was a wonderful experience. They were on-time, efficient and worked well together. I will never again DIY. Thanks Bellhop!
Very prompt, professional and polite. Extremely proficient at their job and did an excellent job of moving me from a house with lots of steps to a ranch-style home. They were done in less than 3.5 hours and we had nothing break.
It was awesome experience. Tim, Dewayne and Evan were so helpful and mindful of our move. They went over and beyond to make a smooth move. Really nice and respectful gentlemen. Would use Bellhop again only to use the same guys.
Fast, professional, punctual, affordable, and efficient. The team clearly knew what they were doing and how to address my specific needs. They finished almost exactly to the mark they projected for the job. I wish I knew about this company in the past. I now have a new permanent moving solution.
Lance and his team are in time, hardworking and reliable. They’re the best! I highly recommend Lance and his team to other consumers. I wish there are more movers like them, making our lives easier & smoother. Bellhop is lucky to have these peeps in their company. Thank you!
This was the absolute best move ever! The two young men, John and Sean were courteous, friendly and efficient. They were proficient at moving both big bulky items and delicate items. They were true professionals and I would absolutely use Bellhop again and I highly recommend them.
I was kept informed from my first call to Bellhop to completion of the job. Pricing was explained from the first call, no surprises! Bellhop workers showed up on time and completed the job well within the time allotted! Work was done professionally, care and a sense of urgency!
I booked with Bellhop and needed a safe, furniture, and several boxes moved. When I booked I listed the safe and that it’s 500 pounds. Their website says for items over 200 pounds, book 3 people, which I did. I booked, and then I received an email stating it was confirmed. When the movers arrived, they were not aware of the safe and said they could not move it. The movers called Bellhop and were told I would receive a call in 10 minutes. That was around 11:30 am, I didn’t get a call until 2:36 pm, well after the movers had left. Multiple people tried arguing with me that their terms of service state they don’t move items over 300 lbs. That is false, that terms of service state they are not liable for damages for items over 300 lbs.
I was finally told this was stated in the FAQ…which I never encountered when booking. I also asked why I put in notes the safe and the weight of it and the booking was still confirmed, to which I was told they don’t always read that. I was given a partial refund, which I thought was fair. What I don’t think is fair, even though Bellhop charges a 2 hour minimum, the movers don’t get paid a 2 hour minimum…even if they finish early because they can’t move everything. We were also told the movers were notified they had a job the morning of the move, but I was told who my team was the day before. The guys who moved our things were very hardworking and did a great job. Just very disappointed in the experience with Bellhop itself.
Very satisfied with the communication and helpfulness of the service team. Both Bellhop associates Jose and Kevin treated the items with care and were very concerned about effectiveness of packing the truck to ensure nothing broke and all fit into the back. Thank you!
My movers were the Best. They were fast, strong, kind and respectful to all of my needs and stuff that needed moving. I could never say how much we appreciate the move they did for us. Very careful with everything. An awesome bunch of people. Thank you to all.
At first, the crew did a wonderful job. They were on time, efficient, and great to work with. However as we got settled, we noticed more and more damage to our belongings. A scratched table, bent furniture knobs, and a drawer that had been split from the dresser. I appreciated the moving service, but would likely choose a different company in the future.
They were great! Everything went smoothly. The staff was professional and respectful. The online communication and online payment was easy. The scheduling was easy. I am very happy with their service. I would highly recommend them. Plus I liked having a referral from our real estate agent.
The move was handled professionally. The communication was great. The two men who moved me was kind, careful with my things and efficient. I would use this service again in the future. The convenience of booking online made things smooth and I booked the move late at night on a weekend.
The team did a great job - fast, efficient and careful - they were definitely experienced and skillful and worked well together. Arrived on time and finished on schedule. Will most definitely use again to move the furniture back after construction.
Half the team didn't show. Could only move a few items. Still got charged for a 5 man team and have to reschedule to move again. The guys that did show up were great but not worth the amount I paid at all.
1. They promised mattress covers - none provided, most of the mattresses looked like they had been drug through the mud. We had to hand clean them.
2. They didn't have a clue how to pack a truck (or too lazy to do it right?) We moved twice in 6 months. First move we fit everything into 2 trucks. Then we sold a significant amount of furniture (an entire dining room set for 8 with a china cabinet and sideboard, an upright freezer, 3 dressers, 2 outdoor rubbermaid storage things, 1 couch, 1 bed...) so we had much less to move. Bellhop's movers couldn't do the much smaller amount in 2.5 trucks! So, w are renting a Uhaul this weekend so my family can finish the move we paid Bellhop to do.
3. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my instructions. A list of things that absolutely must be moved... Uhaul truck this weekend.
5. Moving in the rain sucks! So move quickly. When you take it off the truck put it right into the garage or the house right? They left furniture, couches, chairs, and very expensive hand and electric wood working tools to sit out in the rain. Any idea how long it takes to dry out pillows, cloth couches and chairs? Or to sand the rust off boxes of hand tools?
6. Moving 101 - put the boxes and furniture in the room the client tells you to put them in.
The one and ONLY time we will use Bellhop.
Hired the company because I had to relocated as a effect of the floods in July. Found out the structure was ruined in my home. Hired 4, 3 showed. They tore up everything we had left from the door off the fridge to washer dryer new dining table chairs. Coffee table workers cussed us, stole from us. We had to make a police report. The company knew about this. I phoned them numerous times begging them to stop the move. The movers showed up with no plastic wrap for my furniture. I had to leave my house to go purchase some. They didn’t move all my items. I had to pay 300 to rent a Uhaul truck after the move to store my remaining items they left. I was initially quoted 1250. Bellhop said it went over the allotted time and changed the price to 1800. I told them these workers moved at their own pace and took breaks. They said, "We will take 500 off after boosting it to 1800 only for it to be at the original price.
I said, "But you boosted the price." Oh Kristin the manager even told he the movers did not wrap my items like asked she would terminate them. She phoned the workers. They laughed at her and began stating they had other jobs and could care less. They stood on my food cooler. The short mover did to unscrew my fridge prior to ripping the door off and denting it. I have holes in my walls as they didn’t use a dolly nor pack the truck correctly. They tore up my items more bringing them in the storage as well. They used explicit language speaking to us we were traumatized. After pleading with the company to stop the move during the move the company said no. Bellhop sent a Megan to try to get me to take 386.00 for my items being damaged, which I told her goodbye! There was thousands of dollars of furniture damaged why would you call me asking me that.
She said, "You won't get much in claims and should take my offer and not file a claim." They said I owed 457 and until I pay it my claims would not even be filed. I phoned them to pay the 457. A guy said I didn’t owe anything.. only for me to be told at a later date I did. They told me they played the call back and he did not say that they said they would send me the call. Never sent it because they were lying. This company destroyed all we had left, they did not include all the damage I included in my claim. Only covered a few items with a payout offer of 386.00. They really tried to offer me 170.00 for a 2,000 fridge they tore off.
In Total they offered me 386.00 for tearing up my headboards, footboards, coffee table, dining chairs, sitting chairs, oversized glass mirror, fridge, washer. They sat my white sofa pillows on my fireplace bare where dirt firewood etc was, now they need to be cleaned and I should never have to leave to purchase stretch wrap as they had none. Sure I have more items damaged but the way they packed my storage I can’t get to other items. Had they used stretch wrap some of my items may have been saved. It was traumatizing as my family watched in horror disbelief after already being traumatized by the disaster. I phoned the company several times. They did nothing during that move.
This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered. The movers don't care about your personal and valuable items. Their customer service team is rude and they should not be in business.
I recently used a Google-certified moving partner, Bellhop Moving and they severely damaged my $1900 television during the move. I've followed up on the claim I filed with them (with pictures, video and receipts) 3 times since 10/1 when the claim was filed. The move happened 9/27 - 9/28. I paid $4K for the move and expected them to cover the damages to the television. After being put off for 2 weeks, I've been told that they will not cover the cost of the TV, but offered me $50. What a joke. Now I'm out $6K.
If I could, I'd purchase a highway billboard for the sole purpose of telling people not to use this company. I hired Bellhop for a small move 5 minutes from my current home. I love the UI experience and was so impressed with the modern scheduling (so many moving companies are old school). I scheduled about a month in advance of my move. Less than 24 hours before my move, Bellhop called me and left a voicemail. They then sent me an email saying that they couldn't assemble a team for my move and asked if I'd be okay rescheduling my move for 10 days later. They told me on a Sunday (everything is closed), so I had to call 30+ companies and pay extra to find a company who would move me on such short notice.
While the customer service team did seem sorry, they did not seem to understand how difficult it is to reschedule a move 24 hrs before it happens. Moving is literally always time-sensitive. They did not seem to be trained in how to deescalate angry customers. They apologized, but offered nothing to make it right. I even said "please give me a reason to not leave a bad review, because I hate doing this and want to be able to recommend you" and they said "well, you do what you have to do." and offered to refund me, but that was it. I have moved several times with "old school" companies, and never have had someone cancel less than 24 hours before my move. This company made me angry cry (not pretty), pay extra, and did not do anything to make it better. Using Bellhop will make your move even more stressful than it already is.
After setting up a move for over a month with this company, 10 days before the move we got a call from customer services saying their system allowed a double booking and that we were going to reschedule us for the following week! We have to have the house empty by the July 31st. The move was set up for July 30th... We asked them to do the move any day before from Tuesday to Saturday and they came back saying no, they didn't have anyone for it! After the last phone call conversation they just cancelled our move, they keep on saying they care and felt bad but the bottom line was that they left us without a mover and now we have to try to scramble to see if we can find anyone that can do the move for us!!! Horrible experience!!! I would not recommend this company to anyone.. Please be aware they can cancel and leave you hanging!!!!
Where to start complaining about this TERRIBLE experience with BELLHOP!!!
1. I hired the service and the quote was for 4 hours. It took them 10 hours to complete the job. Complete messed up my preparations, and I had to lose an entire day because of this poor planning.
2. The movers were slow, we're not careful with my furniture. I have many furniture pieces broken, lost or scratched. I could see them throwing my furniture around, kicking pieces that fell on the floor. But this is not the least of the problems!
3. They disassembled my couch and kitchen table to move. That is ok. But I read from the website that Bellhop will assemble it back. Well, they didn't. I asked them not to re-assemble the couch and I needed to know where to put it, but the kitchen was never put back in place. I had to do it myself this morning. The worst part is that they never gave me the screws, the bolts. I have no idea where they are. I had to go and buy new ones. There are parts of the couch that I do not know where they are and I can't assemble it back on.
4. They wrapped some of the first but not all. However, waking by the apartments today I FOUND ONE PIECE OF FURNITURE HIDDEN in a far area of the apartments in the 1st floor. I moved to the 4th, they came in through the 2nd. There was NO REASON for it to be there. The only conclusion is that they hid it there because they broke the window glass door.
5. I learned during the day that they had another move scheduled for 2pm, but it was clear they wouldn't do the work in time. So they cancelled. That, which makes me assume they dragged their work to make it last the entire day and make their profit at my expenses.
6. All the time while moving things they would be talking with family members on the phone, stopped to check up on social networks. No wonder it took so long.
7. The truck driver had to jump on and help to get it done before 7pm (started at 830am). And in the end I was helping move the last loads of furniture.
It was a total disaster. I will do all I can not to have anyone else use bellhop again. Terrible, TERRIBLE experience.
Warning! Steer clear of this unprofessional and unethical company. Where do I begin? First, they took an unauthorized withdrawal of $483 from my account when I made it explicitly clear that I was only paying the initial deposit for a friend. When they showed up, they were clueless as to our agreement to deliver to two locations, and they refused to do so. After loading everything onto the truck, they threatened to unload it unless we agreed to just one delivery location. When we expressed our frustration with their failure to act according to our agreement, they threatened to unload everything.
So we said "OK just deliver it to one location and we would deal directly with their management." But they spitefully decided to dump the whole job and took everything off the truck, and we were forced to find another moving company. The manager called me and said they were willing to take off one hour, but still charge for two. I had to contact my bank and file a fraud claim because they were never authorized in the first place to take the money out of my account. These folks may advertise bargain basement prices, but they also deliver bargain basement service. Do not trust them, they will screw you over with impunity and leave you hanging - they do not care.
Only two movers showed up for the scheduled move. They were careless with my belongings which resulted in multiple damages. The compensation for those damages was insulting and caused me to have to pay a ton of money to have items replaced, fixed, and or cleaned. Offer Pad scheduled another move, but it was not until two days later which caused me a lot of issues on my transition between homes. I had to take off two days’ work to make up for the lost time.
Day two movers were better, but they did not get all my belongings moved and just left with a "sorry". Not acceptable and once again caused me to have to pay more money to hire another moving company to complete the job. Bellhop was what was provided to me through Offer Pad. I will never use or recommend Bellhop for anything! This "free" move ended up costing me more than what I would have paid for an independent mover that actually cared and could provide quality service. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
Absolutely worst and I mean worst moving company ever. My fiancee used them three times prior without ever an issue.... Not this time. Prior to us moving we found out that they contract long distance moves to a third party driver and only provide the manpower...Not what was told to us during our booking. Our day was set up for March 24th, 2022. At 8:00 a.m. They guaranteed it would be to its destination by the 31st. Bellhops called a few days prior to ask if the driver could get there on the 1st instead.... Didn't really have a choice, so we agreed.
That morning, Three out of the four movers showed up, and the owner of the moving truck showed up a little earlier than them. Everything started out good and they were professional in uniform, with a great personality. They began to move our stuff fast and took care. About an hour later the 4th individual showed up. Look like he just rolled out of bed with no uniform on and looked like he hadn't showered in a few days. This particular gentleman did barely any work. Let the other three move everything around while he huffed and puffed and sat around most of the time doing a poor shrink wrap job on tiny pieces of furniture.
The gentleman then decided about an hour into helping move all our stuff into the truck that he was going to light up a joint and smoke pot on the front of our property. Now while it is legal in the state we moved from, our realtor and buyer were supposed to show up at any given time. And just because it's legal doesn't mean it's okay to do that on somebody's property.
Things started to get slightly worse in the afternoon. The movers started to slack off and take their time....Pieces of furniture were not being wrapped properly and they were starting to be careless with boxes and furniture. They did not have enough shrink wrap, so I had to run to U-Haul and buy it out of my own pocket. They had no dolly, and a huge Tangled ball of straps that they used to strap our stuff into the truck. What really took the cake this day was that my wife had medication that was taken out of the kitchen drawer, deliberately. Even after we bought them lunch, tipped them and helped them move to make it easier. At the end of the first day the truck got loaded, and we came out to the driver pulling away without even locking the back door!
The arrival was FAR worse. The truck was on time at 11am, however the 4 workers that were supposed to be there at 11....didn't show up on time. Instead only 3 workers showed up, and they all showed up 45 min late, without warning. We had our stuff put into a storage unit,.because we are buying a house. According to the very nice people at the units, the workers showed up...yet again disheveled, no uniform, and were climbing the fence to get into the unit, rather than call or go to the office. The movers also gave the site staff issues multiple times prompting them to call us ...
We had to get a second storage unit, because the workers didn't pack the unit correctly. So this is now costing us an additional $300 a month due to their sloppy, half done work. Had it been packed properly we could have done with one unit....Instead, they just threw out stuff into the unit, put heavy boxes on top of fragile and Glass.
We had boxes marked with orange tape that we made our long distance coordinator FULLY AWARE, needed to be put in the front of the unit. Not a single box was put into the front of the unit. Between the loading, unloading and transit....damaged approximately $10,000 worth of our stuff. We had to spend two days unpacking the unit, going through every box, taking photos and repacking the unit. Defeating the whole purpose of hiring movers. What was Bellhop's response? They are still giving us a run around with claims and beating around the bush. Our "claim" was supposed to take 1-3 days....It's been well over that.
Now on April 21st, it's been almost a month of dealing with this company. We called, and tried to handle this with our long distance coordinator however he just went MIA...So we called and filed complaint after complaint. Got a different person every single time. Kept getting told...someone will call us back. Someone will get back to us. Having to explain ourselves every time. Absolutely disgusting customer service. No one is on the same page and the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.
After calling 15+ times and constantly keeping on top of them, we were refunded approximately $900 for the inconveniences. We filed a claim with more than 60 photos....However our "claim" settle offer was a whopping $995, which we don't agree with. They don't replace or repair, they reimburse based on "weight"....1000000% an absolute joke of a company. They may be great for short moves, but not for long ones. We will continue to fight to get reimbursed for the damages, the service we paid for that was a joke and the time we have wasted with Bellhops....IT'S NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE!!!!
Was initially impressed with ease and cost of hiring Bellhop. When the college age crew showed up, I was initially impressed but quickly grew concerned when I noticed no to little effort was taken to protect the furniture or the newly painted walls as the Bellhop workers removed my belongings. I expressed my concerns to the team lead. Despite this, furniture was still put in the moving van without any blankets, etc. to protect them from impact/rub marks. As a result, the furniture arrived at my new residence (~20 miles away), with multiple dents/scratches to every piece of a new solid cherry bedroom set and living room tables. A knob in my front loader washer was damaged and the dryer was dented as was the laundry room wall. There were also various scratches and dents to the newly painted walls and trim of our new house.
Most concerning was the workers' attempt to hide the fact that one of them let a dovetail drawer fall out of a table while unloading it. This resulted in the door being significantly damaged. He attempted to hide the damage by placing the drawer back into the table. I was only alerted when a neighbor told me he saw it happened and watched the workers laugh as they attempted to hide the damage. I will note that I have moved multiple times over the years with most being long haul moves. The amount of damage caused by Bellhop Movers far exceeded the total of ALL of my prior moves by a significant amount. In fact, on each of my prior moves, any damage (if any) was so insignificant that I did not even bother to mention it to the movers.
Mover Beware! My experience with Bellhop includes movers showing up 24 hours late, not using any blankets or pads (which I found out on delivery), and a whole household of items destroyed. Broken nightstands, dressers, tables, and chairs. To top it off, I received a credit of $403 for my damaged goods. A supposedly standard $0.60 per pound. My damages are likely $9,000 in fairness, so the $403 is a joke. I heard from my move coordinator Joan one time, 3 hours after my movers were supposed to start. She was out of office during my entire move and didn’t bother responding to any calls or texts.
The customer helpline phone number isn’t answered, by the way. Bellhop will tell you that they are short staffed. I have an apartment full of broken furniture. Bellhop May be cheaper than the alternative, but it is most definitely not worth it. Good concept. Horrible execution. And even worse customer service. They are not motivated by your dissatisfaction.
Completely unprofessional: They dragged and knocked furniture; the most hurtful thing is that they destroyed an expensive sentimental wedding gift that was barely 3 months old! The items were to be dropped in two separate locations so they were supposed to be arranged in the truck in a convenient way for the first stop, but they did not consider this at all! As a result, I am still stuck with stuff that was meant for the storage room in the new house and stuff that was meant for the house in the storage. The storage room is poorly packed as they literally THREW things, making it hard to access anything! Cabinets and lying on the side and I am worried I have more broken furniture and dresser-mirrors in the storage! I know accidents happen but the fact that they have gone totally silent on me means this is what they do. It is clear they only care about money!
Where to begin? Was it the fact that one of the movers left in the middle of the move? That Bellhops disassembled an entire room that I specifically told them would not be moved? Or the fact that they left in the middle of the move without finishing furniture assembly? Or was it the $1800 in damage they caused by running into our mailbox or over the irrigation unit in our yard? They also will not compensate for damages without getting an attorney involved. Don't walk... RUN.
