    I have a Plan F through United American Insurance. I had University of Iowa insurance and then I switched to United American about five years ago. I've never been in contact with UAI other than when I switched. I have no reason to be in contact with them because they have met all my requirements. I'm not happy when the premium goes up, but I'm very happy with the insurance. The Plan F has been a good fit for me.

    I've had United American for over two and a half decades. Until this last year, I didn't have any issues. I wasn't crazy about that price bump, but other than that, I've always had a good experience with United American. Still, I will be shopping around for a policy. I wanna see what else is out there and what else might be available solely based on cost. If there's somebody else out there that's cheaper and doing about the same thing for the same price, then I'm gonna go with them.

    It was my secondary insurance for Medicare. I first went on Medicare. I got Medicare, and then I got United American. My Medicare pays the 80% first, and then United American would come in and pay a percentage of what was done by Medicare. They would do their part. And so, I really liked it because I never got a bill from the doctor. So, United American would pay what Medicare did not pay.

    Everything else is going pretty well the way it was supposed to. And we were really pleased with it. They've been very good. When I would go to the doctor, I never received a bill or a statement. Because we had got Plan F, which was right before they got away with that, and it was the best. I couldn't even tell you my agent's name right now. But he said it was like the Cadillac of insurance. And we did. I go to the doctor knowing that it's taken care of.

    I have a lot of experience with United American, and it has all been fantastic. Right now, I’m looking forward to a year of not having to use it because I got fixed. I was on seven medications for the last four years. Now, I take baby aspirin and a thyroid pill.

    My insurance guy, who is out of Denver, came up years ago and set me up on this. When I became eligible for Medicare, he came up and I’ve been on United American ever since. I have a friend that has Humana, and I gave her the phone number to call him.

    I was in the hospital, and just got a bill last week from Advent. I called United American, as they were supposed to pay $1,674, and they said they paid for it, but Advent says they haven’t gotten the payment. United American told me I’d receive a notice within 24 hours confirming payment, but it’s been three days and I haven’t received anything. If United American could call Advent and provide the information, that would be wonderful.

    I’ve been very pleased with United American since I started using them, and I intend to keep my supplemental. I had West Nile virus neuroinvasive disease, and almost died. I went on disability. I still have some issues, but I get around. As far as filing claims, I never have to talk with them. They negotiate a fixed price before I have any procedure done and whatever Medicare is not paying, they electronically send the invoice to United American.

    It was six years ago that I started with United American, and it’s been seamless. The clients get paid. It just happens. I don’t even think about it.

    I’ve had serious health issues in the past few years, and my hospitalizations have gone smoothly. I lived in Florida when I purchased this insurance. Then I moved to Massachusetts, and they don’t offer United American there. I got to keep it because I already had it. I was really lucky.

    I got laid off from my job right around the time I was turning 65, so I had to find insurance in a hurry. Boomer Benefits is the name of the company in Texas. They educated me and gave me an analysis of a few different plans. It was three or four plans, and I chose United American.

    Submitting a claim has been a very positive, but I actually don’t submit claims. My doctors do, and then I get notification that the claims are paid. I’ve never had any problems.

    I usually don’t give positive reviews, so this is very unusual. They have to be really good for me not to have something to complain about. I don’t have any regrets going with United American.

    United American is my father's Medicare supplement and he’s had plan F for years. I manage this for my dad now. Their premiums are not cheap, but he needs healthcare. For billing, I needed to use their website and set up an automatic payment of my choice. They offer quarterly, annual, and monthly payments. If you go automatic, you have to go monthly and that's a little more. You pay more cash over a year for the monthly payment than you would for a quarterly or the other. That's the only drawback that I find. I can get ahold of them online or by phone call fairly easily. In the three years that I've managed it for him, I haven’t paid out-of-pocket. It's worth checking out for the Medicare supplements.

    My experience with United American Insurance has been very positive. I’ve been with them at least 20-some years. I got the policy through my previous employer, and I still have the same one. I have basic insurance, and it's kind of expensive, but it is a very good policy. I’m very glad I have it because I’ve had issues where I needed to have good coverage. I have no negative issues at all.

    When I have a question, I call myself. The representatives are decent and positive. They answer my questions, and I am very satisfied with everything about United American. However, the price is almost $500 a month, just slightly less than that. I’m living on Social Security, and it’s an enormous chunk for me. Their prices are too high, but I understand I’m getting very good results.

    I’ve been with United American Insurance since 2012, and my experience with them has been good. They’ve done what they said they’re gonna do. The price was the best in the world. The only problem I’ve had was the e-service being confusing for a while, just the address of it. I have to think about where I’m going. But I’ve conquered that now. That’s not a problem anymore.

    Another problem I had was that I got a bill two months ago, and I’d like to check and see if it was submitted to United American. And I pulled up my screen of process, but it only went back a year. And this was 13 months, so I couldn’t see it. Because these doctors are so late, and hospitals are so late in getting these bills out to you. But I can look and say that it was processed. Then I’ll send them their money. I did talk to an agent then or have somebody help me, but I don’t know if she knew what I was talking about or not. But it wasn’t a big deal. It was just  $100.

    When I had a problem in 2022, I had surgery, and my neurosurgeon kept sending me the bill, and I told them to bill my secondary insurance. And they said that they already did. So, I looked, and I couldn’t find any record of this. I called United American, and they said that those are S, or AMO, or AMB copy. And I told them that I have those for my Medicare records here. So, I just sent that right in, and they sent me a check in a week. It was fantastic. I’m happy with them.

    My wife also has the same insurance, but I have the high-deductible policy. She has the regular policy because she had cancer. She does what the doctors tell her. So, she has more doctor’s bills than I do. I have more doctors, and I don’t go, and I don’t get a lot of claims.

    I had open heart surgery and Medicare paid the 80 percent however United America never paid the hospital their share and now the hospital is coming after me for $1600.00. I paid for the additional insurance but UAI stiffed me with their bill.

    My broker told me about United American Insurance Company. My relationship with them has been ongoing since I turned 65, which marks nearly 12 years this coming August. My experience with UAI has been overwhelmingly positive. United American Insurance Company pays all my bills that I don't need to pay. I've contacted their customer service a couple of times for minor inquiries, primarily about offerings like gym memberships—something I'm interested in, yet unavailable through them. Despite not having this feature, I've chosen not to switch to an advantage program solely for gym discounts. In terms of cost and coverage, the premium has risen from $185 to $270 over the years. While this is significant, especially on my fixed income of $1100 from Social Security, I still see substantial savings compared to others who have to manage copays and additional fees. I've never been disappointed or upset over anything.

    An insurance broker set my mom and dad up with them because they were just getting nothing but problems with another company. And he suggested United American. And so, they switched over. And they had no problems with that after that. That's why we went with them.

    I've never had to file any claims with United American. The doctors or the medical people always bill them separately after the primary insurances been billed. And they bill United American second. And they come in and cover everything that Medicare didn't pay. I've never had a reason to even call them or talk to them, other than give my change of address.

    I would highly recommend them. As a matter of fact, my sister, when she retired, and she switched from Kaiser to Medicare, and she also took United American. It's expensive and rates go up every year. Or maybe it's because we get older every year and they automatically go up because of the age. They have competitive rates compared to others. Other than that, I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

    When United Healthcare was doing their sales pitch, they had me convinced that I was gonna save so much money. We actually have a really good agent. She's very knowledgeable about the types of insurance. She recommended it to us and helped us sign up for it. I had Florida Blue Insurance before, then I got my Medicare and got a supplemental, and we have Part F. Other than paying our monthly, we don't have to pay anything else. They always cover what Medicare doesn't cover, so we don't have to pay that 20%.

It's all been a good experience for my husband and I to be with them. It does go up every year. I don't know if they have a standard, but my husband's wondering why his is so much higher. He's not that much older than me, just two years. But that might be the case with a lot of insurance, that it goes up. The most important thing for me is when I need something medically, that it's covered, and I would give them an A+ as far as an insurance company.

    The experience with United American is a hundred percent fine. We’ve never had any issue with them. I went to United American – on the recommendation of a friend – as my supplemental when I turned 65 and went on Medicare.

    The service I’ve received through them is effortless. Since July 2018, I've been treated for lung cancer and had hip replacements. I also have atrial fibrillation and had the Watchman procedure.

    I have absolutely no complaints about it. The only thing, financially, I wish it were like a Medicare Advantage plan, but I know it isn't, and I know that luxury, I have to pay for.

    I get a quarterly explanation of benefits letter from them listing whatever Medicare paid and what United American paid, and what I might be billed, which I have never been billed. All of my chemo treatments, surgeries, radiations, immunotherapy, I have not spent a penny on. I look at the monthly fee I pay out of pocket as an installment plan for all that. Once, I had to pay out of pocket for that anesthesiologist who, for whatever reason, was out of network.

    Some friends of mine pay as much as $100 for a doctor's appointment. I walk in, sign the sheet, see the doctor and go home, so I would highly recommend it to anybody who has the means to do it.

    I used a different insurance company because I was working and I wasn't happy with it. It was a PPO and I had to go to certain doctors that were in their network. Being a nurse and working at the hospital, I knew who the doctors were and that's one of the things I wasn't happy with. With United American, I can go to anybody. I had an insurance agent when I first was applying for Medicare and he recommended United American. After I reviewed all the material he gave me, he was right so I went with United. He was excellent. I went through the application step-by-step with him and it was easy.

    I love United American. When my girlfriend was going on insurance, I recommended them. She said no and that supplementals go up every year and you never know how high they're gonna go. But my insurance just went up a fraction and compared to the benefits I get from it, it's worth it. I had a brain aneurysm and I had to have a procedure done to stop it.     I spoke with an advisor several times who told me which plan would be best for me, which she mentioned the Medicare Plan F. I then asked around and looked for some brokers and I found one I liked. I purchased the plan that the advisor recommended and the broker was the one who specifically chose United American for me. The only thing was their billing department messed up my account this year tremendously. They took all my normal payments out and didn't credit me for them. They claimed they sent me checks back. Also, my premium went up $32 in April but I got no notification of that or anything of the sort. We finally settled it. I sent them a money order with an additional payment just as good graces. But they still owe me money and I haven't heard back from them.

    The last time I spoke to them was 2 to 3 weeks ago. We got most of it solved. They told me that I was prepaid for November and December because of their errors, but I know I still have change left in there. They were supposed to get back to me and let me know how much additional money I have overpaid them but they have not. They dropped it after they told me I'm covered for November and December and they never got back to me to tell me what's still left. It's been a very positive experience except that ridiculous thing that I had to prove to them. That was most annoying and time consuming.

    I had United American as my supplemental insurance in 2021. When it was time for renewal, some insurance agent came here and talked to me into going into Medicare Advantage. I ended up canceling United American and going into Medicare Advantage which was the worst thing I ever did. I called United American to start back up with them. They said I was in my grace period, and I could start right back up with no issues.

    Now, I'm back with United American and I feel secure with it because I know that if I have to go to a specialist or the doctor's office, there's no issue. Whereas with the Advantage plan, you've gotta get a referral, and they could deny you. As elderly, I don't feel we should have to be denied something that the doctors are ordering. With the United American supplemental, you can go and you're taken care of. You pay your co-pays and you go about your business, and that's the way I like it. I don't like the tension of knowing what insurance companies are gonna authorize and not authorize.

    The only thing I worry about a supplemental is the cost. You start off with one cost then every year, as you get older, the cost goes up until you're 85. Just this past year, I went from 170 to 190. Also, when I called one time and told them I wanted to make my payment and I was gonna use my debit card, the rep said they don't do that and I had to mail it in. That was strange because when you have your debit cards, you don't use checks anymore. So I am having to run somewhere to find a money order to send in the mail because they don't do over-the-phone payments which they should do. I don't have a car and I have to depend on someone to bring me places. Other than those, I'm very pleased with United American.

    At the time, I lived in Indiana where I purchased the insurance. United American has insurance for seniors. I made an appointment and got to know them over the years. I've been with them for almost 20 years or more. I trust them. I know what they cover and not. I'm very thankful. They've been great for me. A lot of the medicines still go high but everything else has gone up so high. It's unbelievable. Our Social Security doesn't go up. If it did, it would go directly towards our monthly Medicare payment. There was something I had to do. The doctor said, "Why don't you go in? They get notice of Medicare pay. And then they'll pay the 20%." But it wasn't United American's fault. It was probably a doctor that asked us. I had to do it a few times until I got it straightened up. They started a bill after I got Medicare, and they took 20%.

    When I called United American when I moved, I told them my new address. The rep was as sweet as can be. United American changed everything I wanted. I'm very thankful for them. I told them, "It's okay this month." We moved here on the Month of May. I called them the first of the month. I said, "You go ahead and you can take the money out this month for my insurance payment. But next month, I will call you back and give you another bank account."

    I've never had one problem with United American except that they told me they would let me know when the rates were increased. It was five times a year they changed it. It seemed every time I was in the hospital. I had a lot of health issues at one time. That's how it is when you get older. They told me would raise the monthly rate but not one time have I had a notice. I have it through the bank so they could take it out. It's at the 17th of the month. I wish they let me know in advance when the price would go up.

    I like the supplemental insurance plan that I have with United American Insurance. I called them when I went to a cruise ship doctor because I wanted to know if I would be reimbursed and how that process would go. Unfortunately, the answer was, if Medicare covers it, they will cover it. But I'm fine with what happened. I received the statements and they were good. They were self-explanatory and I didn't feel like I needed a lot of clarity. So, that was a plus.

    One of the reasons I chose UAI was their price. I'm of retirement age and their price was competitive for the services that they were offering. But like everything else, it's going up and up. I don't want to have to look for another one, but before, it was a little over 200 and now, we're close to 300. I understand how this works, but sometimes I feel like insurance companies should work a little harder to keep the premiums down. So, it'd be really nice to not have to always get an increase and to get a significant increase. Other than that, I have recommended United American Insurance.

    I'm happy with United American's Plan F Medicare Supplement. My doctors are, too. It's made health insurance payment a lot easier. I don't have to fool around with getting a bill from a doctor, a bill to an insurance company, and waiting for the insurance company to pay. Plan F is not cheap, but I could foresee at age 65 I was gonna have some health problems because of my back.     I love United American Insurance. My experience has been great. I check every bill that comes in because I just got one and it has a couple of different things on it. I was looking at when I went to the dermatologist, and the charges are insane. They were charging me for a lab in Saint Pete. They were doing what they described as Mohs, but they just went in and they dug a hole. They sutured it up. It wasn't major. About four days later, I got this squeaky message. It wasn't even a formal one saying, "This is so and so with such and such dermatology." It was, "Hi, this is Frank. Everything looked good. The skin was clear on the edges or whatever it was. Just wanted to let you know, we got everything." I didn't even know if it was real.

    So, I questioned that for a little while because I had just gone in, but how could they call that Mohs surgery if you go in, you take one dip, you mail it off to Saint Pete, they read something, and they text you a week later and say, "We got it." I checked the date. I haven't had a problem anywhere, but I just thought it sounded almost like a robocall. It was, "Hey, this is Phil," to which I replied, "You gotta be kidding me." I realized it should be recorded, but I've been going to this lady for a couple of years. I'm not overly impressed with her. I love her demeanor. I love her bedside manner. She's as calm as Mother God, but that doesn't necessarily tell me much.

    I've had a lot of Mohs surgeries and I've had a lot of very involved Mohs surgeries. My nose isn't normal. So, I'm kind of looking for another visit soon because I have other places that don't look right. Usually, the lab bill is $425. Medicare pays 383, and United American picks up the difference. They have always paid without question. I wouldn't give this insurance up for anything. It's just when it comes to dermatology, it's really overbilled.

    I had cancer in 2017, and then I have osteoporosis so I've had a number of broken bones since then. United American picked up everything that Medicare did not. Even though they were more expensive than a lot of the other companies, I picked them because of the full coverage if Medicare approved whatever my services needed were. The only thing I would like to see from United American is to have some at-home care covered, like food service while recuperating. Sometimes, the hospital would discharge you and bring you home and lay you on your bed when you can't put weight on your feet.

    When I became of age for Medicare, which is 65, I knew I needed a supplemental insurance policy, and I've been with United American ever since. I love the company, and I've never had any issues with them. I pay my yearly dues and they're a bit on the high side, but that's okay. People get what they pay for, and thank goodness, price is not an issue for me. Even if it was a little higher, I'd still be able to pay it.

    I pay my premiums, and whenever I go to a doctor, I hand both my cards (United American and Medicare). What's not covered by Medicare, they pick up whatever residual is left, which is awesome. There are no co-pays, and there's no network. If I'm feeling ill and I'm in Chicago, I'll walk into a doctor's office, and there are no pre-authorizations. United American is a wonderful company to work with.

    United American has an annuity part that I can pay ahead for my policy and that should cover any out of pocket, which it does. However, the problem is that there's a misinformation that they give. When providers call the insurance company to find out if I met my minimum, they say no even though I did because of the annuity. I complained about it, but they don't seem to be doing anything about it. Besides that, I have no problem with claims being covered.

    My experience with United American has been perfect. They pay the 20% and I pay my 300 and some dollars a month and everything's going good. However, I have a claim issue right now with Quest because they said that the doctor ordered a particular lab test and they did not. It wasn't covered and they're charging me 500 bucks, so I'm fighting it with the doctor's help. I'm at the doctor's office right now waiting for him to come in.

    I purchased a Plan F through United American. I've had no difficulty with them. I have told others repeatedly that I'm very pleased and I've suggested that they look into the program. I've given them the name of the person that we deal with in terms of the annual reviews. I'm looking into whether or not there are any ways that they would also do some of the perks in terms of dental coverage. It doesn't seem that they take care of any of that. Other than that, I speak very highly of United American.

    I've been happy with United American Insurance. I found that the co-pays for the Advantage plan became so prohibitive that I decided I wanted to have regular medical insurance. So, with the Medicare, I bought the supplement. I have Plan F. I have a good plan and I have no problem. The premium is high but that's because of my age. My daughter also has a plan with them, but her premium because of her age is considerably lower. Unfortunately, she can't have Plan F because they stopped providing it before she did.

    Everything's fine in my experience with United American. They take care of everything but my copay. They send me all kinds of updates. I get mail from them four times a year. I had the $2,000 deductible plan. Then they sent me mail saying that I could change it, which I did at that time. Now, I got just the copay. As long as Medicare covers it, they cover the balance. Last year, when my wife passed away, they took care of everything, canceled her policy, and sent me a refund. They're great.

    United American is a very good company. I got a supplement to my Medicare coverage. My wife and I set it up. It was easy. The rep took care of everything. My wife has since passed. We were both sick and we needed to supplement it. We bought the old F plan. It was the right thing to do, and they've stood by us through all of it, and covered what they would cover. The F plan has been a good product and they’ve stood by it. They pay everything that Medicare doesn't pay on that plan. I was really sick at the time I bought it, and my wife had MS, and she needed MRIs. There was no other coverage that would pick up the MRIs. We would have been paying a lot of money out-of-pocket, and they just picked up everything. So if Medicare approved it, they covered the difference.

    I like United American Insurance. I've been with them for a long time and plan on staying. I had an issue that upset me. But we got over it. It cost me some money but I’m still sticking with them. They were taking a deposit out of my account for my wife and I, and we were together on one account. And on their own, without notifying me, went ahead and split the accounts and kept taking out the payment out of the same bank account for her only, but not me. I was in arrears, didn't know it, and we tried to negotiate with them with my broker because it wasn't my fault. I ended up having to pay the bill between January 1st and March 1st of that year, and the extra. I was very unhappy about it, but I like the company other than that incident. They are a good outfit.
