    Claims Handling

I had the side of my car scraped with a key. I have been a GEICO customer for at least 30 years. I never had a claim. No tickets, no accidents. I am 54 years old. I filed a claim and they will not pay it because the Pathfinder I bought a year ago had previous work done to it in the area where the car was keyed. I paid my insurance so that when I need coverage it is available. I have been severely let down. What can we do? Doesn't the insurance company have to pay to fix your car?

I am contacting your office regarding an ongoing problem I am having with Geico Auto Insurance company regarding an accident claim. I feel I am being given the runaround because I am a single woman. I am requesting your assistance. I can give you additional information such as the claims number when you contact me back.

On March 4, 2012, I was rear ended by a Geico policyholder, Irena **. The accident was caused by her. She rear ended me when I was stopped at a red light. We never heard the squeal of her brakes before she hit us. She was given a ticket for careless driving at the accident. My passenger and I did not go to the hospital at the time of the accident. We did go later to Largo Medical Hospital and was told we had whiplash from the accident and would be sore in the following days. My car was damaged and repaired twice by Dayton Andrews Collision Center on US 19, St. Petersburg, FL. My insurance company Farmers has quickly paid for everything, except the deductible and the car rental.

I have left voice messages regarding my claim, for the Geico claims agent Safeena ** at phone number ** many times. I have requested multiple times to have Safeena have her supervisor call me. I have not received a call back from that person. I called the Geico helpline and asked for her supervisor. I waited over ten minutes on hold and I was connected to Safeena, even after I told the woman on the phone that I didn't want to talk to Safeena, I wanted her manager. The last time I received a callback message from the Geico claims agent Safeena ** regarding my claim, she said they sent my claim for the $500.00 deductible and the car rental reimbursement was sent back for review on 4-19-12. She had previously told me that it was in review. My claims rep told me the original claim was sent 3-19-12. Please contact me as soon as possible so I can get this behind me and have some peace of mind.

After having an accident, GEICO sent checks to the auto body shop in my name and they cashed them without ever fixing my truck! I had no idea that these checks were addressed to me and were cashed. My name had been signed to these checks that they refuse to give to me, $11,000 worth! Then I was told that I was responsible for these unknown checks. They refused to give me any copies of the checks where I can take the body shop to court since they can't handle the situation. This body shop is one of the shops they recommended to me when they should have totaled out my vehicle if that much damage was done.

It's been 4 months of being without my vehicle and they refused to get involved in helping me retrieve it. They tell you they will call you back, but you never hear from them at all. They refused to even get their fraud department involved as well. I have never dealt with an insurance company such as this and do not advise anyone to use their service. In finding this web page, I also found out that they have had 2 class action lawsuits against them. I would like to start a third! They are on the news today now about their poor service to their customers! It's very sad when the Ohio Department of Insurance is letting them completely keep getting away with what they are doing and not being shut down! I guess GEICO has enough of everyone's money to keep a good attorney! Who's going to help us all?

GEICO is an absolute ripoff, beware! They sell you insurance and then when you try to submit a claim, they force you to substitute substandard parts or windshields that are terrible in quality. This results in reduction in the car resale value or trade (anyone who knows can see it's a cheap knockoff that's been put in). They are also unsafe as the windshield represents 60% of the strength and your roof will cave in during a rollover accident. Also, if the windshield pops out in an accident (which it is likely to do with a cheap substitute), the airbag will not deploy as it will have nothing to deflect off of.

I received the following letter from Geico: Thank you for your recent inquiry to obtain insurance. After carefully considering your application, we have determined that it does not meet our current overall requirements. We regret that we cannot accept your request for insurance at this time. This action has been taken for the following specific reason(s): Insufficient Driving Experience. Since underwriting standards vary from one company to another, it is likely that an application from you would be acceptable to some other company.

The letter I replied with: I've been driving cars, trucks, vans and SUVs since I was about 16 when I received my driver's license and I'm about to turn 21 in a few days, so I'm not sure of this lack of driving experience thing. I've never received any speeding ticket or traffic violation of any sorts so I apologize that I'm a tad bit baffled at why I was declined insurance. I'm currently insured under Geico, under someone else's policy and have been on her policy for some time now. So either way, Geico is still going to cover me if I happen to get into an accident. And as a rebuttal to your statement about other companies, yes, I have indeed received approved from other companies for insurance. I just thought as a longtime customer, you would value my business with you and try to keep me as a customer. Sincerely, a guy who just wants to be treated with some common sense.

I called GEICO to cancel my policy, and the gentleman on the phone told me to go online and type up "Please cancel my policy effective immediately." I did follow his instructions and did exactly what he said. I also told him that I was supposed to be charged the next day and I wanted to stop the payments. He told me that he was unable to do it on his end, and I would have to do it on my end. So once again, I followed his instructions and thought that I cancelled my policy.

Nevertheless, I was charged the next day, and my policy wasn't cancelled, because they told me that I didn't provide a reason. (I was never told to provide a reason.) And I guess I didn't stop the automatic payments, because this had to be done over the phone. (And the rep told me that he can't do it.) So, who is supposed to get this done? God?

I called again the next day and talked to another rep, and I was told that the only way for me to get a refund is via check (Isn't that convenient?!). When I asked to talk to her supervisor, the supervisor basically blamed me for calling them really late, not because they completely screwed up their own instructions. GEICO has the worst rates, customer service, and cancellation policy. (They're like a stuck gum on your shirt that you can't get rid of.) I just can't wait to get rid of them. Not only I saved over $90 a month on my policy with another major policy provider, I don't have to deal with their awful reps.

I have been a customer of GEICO for three years with a young female driver. She is a great student and has over a B average. When I called customer service regarding her going to college in the fall in Kansas, they told me that I will lose my multi-car discount and this is causing my premium to go from $247.00 a month to $512.00 a month. She is living on campus and only driving to her practice as she is an athlete and driving home at the end of the school year. Probably, she’s only driving about a total of 5,000 miles a year.

I checked with seven other companies and no other companies do this to their clients. I called GEICO four times and heard from the customer service representatives that this was the law that they had to write my daughter in Kansas to cover her in that state. I asked what law says that I have to do this. They could not answer. I contacted a local professional agent and they told me there was no such law! I called GEICO back and spoke to another agent and they said it's a GEICO policy. In other words, a way to double your insurance costs!

I was so angry. I am ditching this company as they are out to get you anyway they can and don't care about their customers. They especially don't like college kids that don't live at home. Every other company that I spoke to said as long as the car is registered in my name and in Texas, they still give the discount. Way to go GEICO!

I purchased a policy in NJ for my auto thinking I was saving money. 5 months later, I received an email about renewal. I looked at my insurance card and to my surprise it’s a 6-month policy. I can’t say 100% for sure that was or wasn’t told to me, to be honest. But I am pretty on top of that. When I called customer service, I was shocked to find this was the case. Direct withdrawal was coming from my checking and asked if last payment was for the last month of policy or to renew (I had no intention of renewing, so I didn’t want that to happen). After putting me on hold twice, I could tell she didn’t know. I was told policy was paid in full and good for 3 more weeks. I got a quote from Cure for just a little more money, but it was for one-year policy. When I called GEICO to give courtesy cancellation, I was asked about balance due. Such poor customer service: people do not know what they are doing on the other end of that phone! I would never recommend this company to anyone! It's a very bad experience.

I thought my experience with GEICO was bad, until I read some of these letters. Mine was a simple case of GEICO contacting me, offering me a rate quote, which I accepted. Then, when the first bill came, it was 20% higher than we had agreed. When I contacted GEICO, I gave them the name of the rep I had talked to and informed them of the situation. I was told they were unable to locate that person, and they were sorry. But, in spite of the rate quote that I had "supposedly" received, my cost was going to be the rate on the bill. It's classic bait and switch. My advice is avoid GEICO at all costs and report all problems to the attorney-general for your state. Maybe with enough complaints, these clowns can be run out of business.

My van was disabled (flat tire) on the expressway on 3-15-2012. When I returned on 3-16-2012, my van was gone. I have furnished a police report and statements from two witnesses. A GEICO investigator has requested phone records of my and my witnesses' cell and home phone. I welcome any assistance in resolving this matter including attorney advice.

I have GEICO for cars, motor home, home owners. I received a bill from Security First Insurance rate increase, called to tell them I can't afford, to drop things to make cheaper. They did, payment due on the 14th. I explained I started a new job and can't pay until the 20th. "No problem," they said. They cancelled my policy. I made payment on the 20th; they said to reinstate need $600 instead of the $450 down, or rewrite the policy. They quoted me $600 higher (said rate increased). What bologna! I had to put $600 down on a $1100 policy or they would charge me $1700 for the same policy. What a rip off. I am paid until July, switching everything from Geico! Insurance is a waste of money! I don't know how they can get away with these rate hikes and overcharging people.

I've been a customer of Geico for over 15 years. I delayed an auto payment by one day and received a confirmation from them of this transaction. I did this several days before the payment would be taken from my bank account. I also sent them an email to confirm they do not double bill me. I checked my bank account and it was overdrawn as a result of them not delaying the payment. In addition, they took the payment a few days later and my policy was paid in full. Then, put the payment through again. I spoke to customer service and even a supervisor, Laura **. They couldn't do anything, they told me it was my error. How could it be my error when I have a confirmation email from them prior to the payment? Then they charged me $20 on my account. Ms. ** told me it would be removed from my account, but it hasn't been yet.

I'm contacting my AG, Pam Bondi and the Better Business Bureau about this. I asked why can't they accurately bill customers and why would they continue to bill me once my account was paid in full. I got no real answer. I can't believe this happened. Their lack of customer service was shocking! It was like they don't care about their customers, even longtime customers. I won't be renewing with them. It's their error and they should take responsibility, not blame customers. I hope others check their billing and policy carefully.

I reported a claim for damage to my RV during a storm. Two days later, I received a voice mail from a claims adjuster stating I might not be covered due to the way my policy was written. Repeated attempts to contact the adjuster were useless. I finally called customer service to complain. The next day, the adjuster called me and stated there was no point in calling me back because the decision had been made and my claim had already been denied. She refused to let me speak to her supervisor and was extremely rude. Several calls to customer service over the next 2 weeks were useless, as I was told a supervisor would call back, but no one ever did.

I finally called and told them I would report them to every consumer site available if I didn't get a return phone call that day. I finally got a call and all I got was an apology for the way I was treated, but nothing more could be done. Bottom line is, when I took out the policy, I was told I had full coverage, but when I had a claim, all of a sudden I didn't have coverage for that item. They take your money, but provide no coverage and terrible customer service. Stay away from GEICO!

After several years and in good standing, even though they kept raising my premium due to accidents (Some of which I received a ticket for, which were dismissed in court; and in the others, I was rear-ended.), I received a letter in the mail that they would not renew my policy. Subsequently with that letter came a second letter offering me the opportunity to continue the multi-risk coverage they provide, even though they could not offer me liability/physical damage auto insurance. Why would I want to continue with any coverage with them?

I made a call this morning to see if they would make an exception based on the information I provided, but they really didn't care. To top it off, I went online to research and request additional quotes from other companies, and although I did not request a quote from them, they sent me one. This has been quite the experience, great customer service, and customer loyalty.

I had an accident on 3/4/12. Geico told me that my car was towed to an "unapproved" car lot. It took them 3 weeks to get the car towed 30 minutes to one of their approved lots, and another week to decide to total my car. Now, my policy only allows for me to have a rental car for 30 days. Geico refuses to extend the time even though it was their error in getting the car towed. It is now 4/17/12 and they have yet to pay one medical bill or send the lienholder the amount that was still owed on the car, not have they sent me the rest of the money so that I can use it to get another vehicle.

I have spoken to a dozen people at Geico, and depending on who I speak with, I get a different story. Does anybody have any suggestions? I am a widow and need my car desperately. I have been catching rides to work with coworkers but sometimes that isn't possible and I've had to miss work because I don't have a car. My fiance was also in the car and had to miss 6 weeks of work. Geico hasn't paid any of his medical bills or reimbursed him for his time off work either. I know the lady that hit my car, who has Geico also and they haven't taken care of her auto repairs either, so I know that my case isn't an isolated incident.

I brought my car to Gerber Collision in Las Vegas. Geico has a claim adjuster there named Richard. I came to pick up my vehicle on two separate occasions and the repairs were completely unacceptable. Richard refused to repair the car properly. Finally the shop manager had the car repaired correctly and it looked perfect, except the rear camera was not working now. Even though the damage was to the trunk and the camera had to be removed and the deck lid replaced, Richard said that they were not responsible for it.

I have spoken with Geico. They keep telling me James ** will call me. He is the field manager in Vegas. He still has not called. This is the worst insurance company out there. I switched from MetLife to save a few dollars. Big mistake! I never had a problem with MetLife. I'm going back after I file suit against Geico in small claims and resolve this issue.

I did a quote from GEICO in reference to my son getting his license at age 18. I was told in order to obtain an accurate quote, a deposit would be needed, an RMV check would be done, and if interested, the deposit would become the first payment. Then, a policy would come into place. This was done. When they quoted me a different price ($1000 to $3000 for six months), they told me all was okay - nothing done, no harm - and thanks for considering them. Well, needless to say, they sent over a 2A form; in MA, they automatically cancelled the policy with the current carrier because of the form. I still have yet to obtain my credit from the quote (bank notified and formal complaint done) and now it’s been a hassle to get my current insurance back and effective to the policy date. The lizard is slimy after all. I would not refer them to my worst enemy.

Geico is saying because I took the van into the auto shop for a low coolant light, and while the van was missing, the coolant caused the problems to the engine and that was a pre-existing problem. I have a police report that the owner of the shop where I took my van was doing a lot of illegal stuff, letting people drive my van and selling parts from my van to other people. I do not understand how I would be liable for the the total cost of everything when the van was reported stolen and I have no knowledge of what went on with the van during the time it was missing. My wife and I were involved in a "no fault accident"! We hit a deer at 70mph. We live in Montana. Deer are common. Fortunately, we were not injured. We called GEICO and reported the accident. They seemed very professional with the claim, but as the story grows, our experience has been absolutely terrible, frustrating and downright unprofessional! How does this company still exist? After reading blogs, reports, and page after page of websites created about GEICO’s lies, fraud, robbery, threats and incompetence, why do they get away with this? They are not insuring people. They are just stealing from the American people! Period!

So, our car was totaled. A week later, said they would pay off the car but not for what the value of what our car was worth. We said that we were not happy with that amount. They said that was all that they were going to give us, no ifs and or buts! Not a week later, the adjuster called and said that we needed to release the car. We said no, we have not agreed on a price and we have not seen any money! No money, no car! He then calls and threatens my wife by saying that if we do not release the car, we will face serious consequences! Not 30 seconds after that call, a car auction company called and wanted to know if we had released the car. Who called them? Finally, we said if he would agree to pay for the new tires on the car we would go with their offer. He said that they would do that. That leaves us with like a $1,040. Not a good down payment to get into something new, but we were so tired of this whole scandal. So then we find out that nobody seems to have the title to the car.

Once again, they say they will not cut a check until they get the title. Well, we have released the car. So now we are out of a car, no money and no title! We don't know what to do. We can't afford to pay a lawyer. Once again, we Americans taking advantage of by corporate America! Keep us hungry and we will stay under! No compassion, they just get all they can! Please, if you have any advice on what we can do, we would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.

Claim not paid! - Our brick mailbox was destroyed by a car driven by James on March 16, 2012. The car James was driving was insured with GEICO under the name Julia. Ann **, a GEICO employee, has been rude and given me the run around over and over again since the accident. Finally, they sent Todd ** out to take pictures and write the claim. After his inspection of the accident site, I received a check from GEICO and then on April 4th, they called to say sending the check was a mistake and that they had stopped payment on the check. Ann ** from GEICO says it will be months before they determine if they will pay for our mailbox. She says she is not sure they are liable even though their client who is fully insured destroyed our mailbox. She suggested, I call my insurance company and file a claim. Please tell me that this is ridiculous. Not only do I have a huge mess in my yard, I have a make shift mailbox that keeps falling over, so I don't get my mail half of the time. Would you please help me get this resolved? GEICO will not help me.

On April 5th, Casey called me. She told me she is Ann **'s supervisor. During the conversation, she said she was sorry for my loss and sorry they had to stop payment on the check they sent me to replace my mailbox. She told me it was a mistake that they had sent the check. She told me they are investigating the claim at this time. She also said, since the driver said there was a phantom car. She said, GIECO would not be liable to pay for my mailbox that the phantom should pay, not them. I asked her if I could quote her on that and she told me no, I could only say that she said they are investigating. I have checked with two other insurance companies and they both told me if there is a phantom car they treat it in the same manner as if the accident had been caused by a deer and their companies would pay the claim. I am extremely frustrated with GEICO. I get the impression they have no intention of paying this claim.

We have 5 cars currently insured and if I ever have a desire to change companies after this experience, I would never call a GEICO agent to get a quote. The only positive thing I can say about GEICO, is they have darling commercials! GEICO has horrible customer service, telephone manners, and from the experience I have had, I would say they certainly do not pay claims in a timely manner, if at all.

After several weeks and countless phone calls with GEICO, I am yet to be paid for the mailbox that was destroyed by a young man whose car was insured with GEICO. I am not in a financial position to hire an attorney, and I do not have extra money to replace my mailbox. This seems to be a case of a giant company walking on and taking advantage of an individual. I guess they think if they beat me long enough I will just give up. I have filed a complaint with the state of Missouri Insurance Commission-Consumer Affairs and I intend to file with the BBB.

Here is my complaint. I will start this out by saying this has nothing to do whether my claim was paid or not. It has to do with the customer service, or lack thereof, of your employees. I sent GEICO an email to determine if I had an issue that would be covered by insurance or if I would have to pay out of pocket. Next thing I know GEICO has started a claim for me and called to let me know an adjuster would be calling me for an inspection appointment. The adjuster that was assigned for the Brunswick and Saint Marys, GA area was named Dawson **. I sent him pictures of my damage and he called me back and said he didn’t need to come see it. He said to just take it to a repair shop and get an estimate that I was covered. He added to just call him back with the estimate and not to worry - he was the guy with the checkbook.

I did as asked. I tried to call and there’s no response. I sent an email and there’s no response. I had the repair shop fax the estimate to the fax number he provided me with. Next, the repair shop is telling me that a guy from GEICO named Max (I never got his full name) was out looking at it. So, since I have left several emails for Dawson ** and several emails with absolutely no response, I called the other contact I was given on my claim, Natalie ** (liability). I say there is someone named Max looking at my vehicle and I would like him added to my list of contacts on my online claim. That was ignored.

It has been 2 weeks at this point. I have yet to get a response from emails and voice mails to Dawson **. I have yet to get any contact info on Max and I have yet to see a written estimate or see one added to my online claim. Now, out of the blue, GEICO submits an additional claim on top of my other one. Lo and behold, the phone rings. He introduces himself as Dawson ** and he would like to come take a look at the damage on a claim that showed up on his system. I tell him who I am and I haven’t submitted a claim and I am still waiting on something from my original claim. He remembers me and says, "Oh, I thought your claim was already taken care of." I said, “Well, if you had returned my calls in the past 2 weeks, you would see it was not.” I told him that by looking online I can see that Natalie ** submitted the second claim. His response: "What are you talking to her for? You should only be talking to me.” I again told him that I have left him messages. I also told him that someone named Max was the one inspecting my vehicle. He says, "Let me call you back in 45 minutes. I have to chew some butt about this.” I never received another call from him again. Again, I have left voice and emails with no response.

So I think to my self that he really is blowing me off. I decided to call him from a different phone. Guess what? He answered. So how is it I can call him numerous times from my phone and never get an answer and the one time I use a different phone he picks up? This is terrible service. I will drop GEICO based solely on having to deal with these 2. Now, I have discovered that Natalie has pawned me off to someone else. I think both these two have buried themselves in a hole and it is better to ignore the customer than provide service. Long story short, they have no problem taking your money for years, but will not lift a single finger when it comes to the service they should be providing. I would like nothing less than these two people fired - unless, of course, this is how GEICO operates.

A week and a half ago, I was driving to work and the driver in front of me stopped short, causing me to stop short as well. It was a bit close, but I did not hit the car in front of me. In a split second, however, it occurred to me that the car behind me might not have as much "luck" as I did so I quickly glanced to my rear view mirror just in time to see the Jeep Liberty smash into me and push me into the car in front. Somehow, a second later, I felt another impact from the rear. We got out of our vehicles and a man came running across the street asking if we were hurt. The girl in front and the lady in back both said yes but something didn't feel right so I said "I'm not sure".

The police were called. Statements were given and the car that struck me and pushed me into the car in front was cited for "following too close". You could tell by all the fluid from her Jeep exactly where the first impact took place. The car behind me and me both has GEICO. I spoke to family members later and they all told me to watch out because when two parties have the same insurance, it's not as if they are going to fight very hard to make sure you get fair compensation for damages. I shrugged that info off as them just being paranoid.

Later on, I got the worst headache ever and just before bed, my neck became very stiff. The next day, my insurance adjuster returned my call and got a statement. I said I stopped and was then pushed into the car in front of me but felt three impacts, the first of which came from behind. After my statement, he told me the girl in the car in front said she felt two impacts and that she said I struck her first and was then pushed into her. He said they needed the police report to clear it up.

I went to the police station and picked up a copy of the report. Then, I went to a doctor who said I had spasms in my back and neck muscles from the trauma and told me I shouldn't be at work and would need physical therapy and pain meds/muscle relaxers (the pain in my neck and back has been so bad at times since the accident that, even on meds, I've burst into tears). The accident report, as I expected, said the initial impact was when the Jeep Liberty hit me from behind. I really thought that would clear everything up, apparently not. Turns out, my family gives really good advice and aren't paranoid at all.

So, GEICO is saying that, even though the police report says otherwise, they are going with what the girl in front is saying since according to them, she is the only "innocent victim" and, since I do not have collision on my car, I am 50% (plus the deductible) responsible for the damage to the front of my vehicle not to mention 50% responsible for the back end damage to the car in front. I also assume they will deny part of the payment for my missed work and medical expenses. Even better, the girl in front, who claimed no injury at the time of the accident, has reported to GEICO that she hit her head once per each impact. I guess that's better for both of them because, not only does GEICO not have to pay for all of my car repairs and medical, but the girl in front can now try and get money from both myself and the lady who rear-ended me to compensate for the head bumps she somehow forgot about immediately after the accident but then remembered a few hours later.

I'm not sure I have any choice at this point but to get a lawyer. I did not hit the car in front of me before I was rear-ended and pushed into it. The police report says the exact same thing. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just as much an innocent victim as the girl in the car in front. I stopped before hitting her car and if the lady in the rear was paying attention and leaving safe stopping distance, I would be at work right now rather than sitting here, in pain, stressed out and wondering if there really is such a thing as justice in the world today.

GEICO has outright told me that there is no evidence (the guy who stopped to ask if we were okay must not have seen the crash because, even though he talked to the cops, nothing about him was mentioned in the report). I'm really, really angry. I am a very honest person and I like to think people usually care more about what's right rather than making a buck. I'm starting to see how naive that is. In the past week and a half, I've heard nothing but negativity about GEICO. As soon as the dust settles, I'm taking my insurance elsewhere. I know I'll pay more money because I've now been found liable for an accident that I had no control over. I stopped before hitting the car in front of me. I have no control over someone speeding, not paying attention, and rear-ending me but GEICO apparently doesn't care about that. So, my rates will go way up, but those upped rates won't be going to GEICO.

On March 7, 2012, I gave a friend permission to drive my car to pick up coffee. He was hit by another driver, when she made an unsafe left turn across his lane of traffic. She was coming out of a parking lot turning left. Her view was obstructed by a large parked SUV. She admitted to not seeing the driver of my car until it was too late, so she panicked and went for it any way. The driver of my car noticed her and stopped, yet because she panicked, she cut the turn too sharp and clipped the front end of my left bumper. To make matters worse, she didn't stop until she had scraped the entire side of her car and torn the fog lamp on my car out of its socket (not broken just removed by the driver's car door).

Now GEICO claims, based on photos provided by both drivers, that he hit her broadside and should have swerved or something to avoid the collision. Meanwhile, he was stopped! Had he swerved left she would have hit him any way. If he had swerved right he would have hit a parked car. Stopping seemed the best thing to do.

Here's the problem. GEICO is assessing my policy 15% negligence for failure to yield, yet the driver of my car had the right of way and the other driver admitted she panicked and just went for it. And the police officer said she was entirely at fault and the driver of my car had stopped! For the life of me, I cannot figure out how the driver of my car was negligent. Additionally, simple physics kicks in here. It could not have happened the way the insurance company said it did, because the car would have spun into the driver's door of my vehicle by simple impact and the air bag would have deployed.

I guess the fault lies in being on the road that morning. It's not a large amount of money we are arguing over, but for me, it's the principle of it. By assessing fault to both drivers, they can 1) charge both policies so as to increase rates, 2) it stays on my insurance record as being partially to blame for the accident and 3) it upsets me the most that the insurance company counts on most insured to not question their assessment and just accept their findings.

Personally, I am tired of the hoax. It's time that companies doing business in the United States adopt a policy of integrity and step up to the plate and do the right thing. Insurance companies make millions of dollars every year, and you get into an accident that blatantly was no fault of yours and you are assessed blame. It's wrong. Then to top it off, the supervisor now puts partial blame on the officer for not filling out the report thoroughly. Wow! How are you supposed to go up against an officer of the law? Frankly, it disgusts me.

I pay GEICO to insure me, and then they still find a way to milk more money out and tell you it's the law. I asked for a copy of the law but was never provided with one. It further upsets me that the insurance copies count on the insured to give up without a fight, and then when you question them, you are at fault.

I called Geico that day and reported the accident with all facts. I uploaded a diagram of the accident. Geico has done nothing. No adjuster, no rental car, not even a phone call. So, I called Geico and was told the insured has not answered/returned phone calls from Geico and until they do, Geico will not help me.

They suggest that I go through my insurance company, Nationwide, which I will not do. I would have to lay out my $500 deductible and wait until settlement. That $500 may as well be a million. Who has an extra $500 bucks lying around? Not me. Just a smashed car. The bruises healed faster! This isn't what I expected as the injured party. Much less than I expected. Geico Insurance sold us a policy on 3/12/12. About a week later, they added a $160/year ($80/6-month policy) increase because they claim my wife was involved in a (not at fault; was rear ended) car accident in 2008. They knew of this incident, as we had reported it to Geico, along with a police report back in 2008. The accident was claimed and settled through the other party's company since he was at fault. We were Geico customers at the time of the accident, as we had been for many years prior and up to 2010 as well.

In my opinion I believe they "low balled" me to get me back as a customer, then slammed me with this increase. I know insurance companies have a 60-day period to verify/re-evaluate a new policy in case a customer omits critical information, but in my case they clearly knew of the accident and should have factored it in the original price quote instead of hitting me with it a week after they sold me the policy. This may have been legal but it's bad business in my opinion. Please advise, thank you.

GEICO underpaid my insurance claim. My vehicle was involved in a collision and was declared a total loss. GEICO uses a company named CCC Information Services, Inc. (CCC) to appraise vehicles for insurance purposes. The report that CCC ran on my vehicle to determine its current market value was fraudulent. The vehicles used in the CCC Valuescope report were not comparable to my totaled vehicle. GEICO undervalued my claim by over $3,000.00. Even though I had $900.00 of rental car coverage, GEICO took away my rental car as soon as they made their settlement offer to me, which was within three days after the accident.

GEICO knows that most of their insured are forced to accept their settlement offer because they need that settlement check to go out and buy another car. To contest their settlement offer costs money; one would have to hire an attorney to defend you if you decide to take GEICO to court. Trying to negotiate with them did not work for me. I sent them vehicles of the same year, make, and model from dealerships located where my car was garaged to prove the value of my car and all GEICO did was come back with a counter offer of an additional $224.00. If you decide to contest the settlement offer and take them to court, you cannot cash the settlement check. If you file a lawsuit against GEICO, their lawyers will drown you in legal paperwork and the case could be in court for 4 months. GEICO is an insurance company that conducts business practices that are unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent.

The crash occurred when I, while traveling northbound on the street, a residential street, mind you, was turned into by a man traveling southbound who had neglected to use his blinker. I was in a well-lit area directly beneath a street light in fact, wearing a bright white jacket and equipped with a red flashing light on my bicycle.

In October of 2011, I received my first and only traffic violation while carrying Geico insurance. I had my driver's license temporarily revoked for 30 days and was required to file an SR22 with Geico. This needed to be filed in order for me to receive my license back in 30 days. When I contacted Geico, instead of filing the SR22 for me. They gave me a three week notice and cancelled my insurance policy (even though I still have two pre-paid months of coverage). I am now "hustling" to obtain another insurance policy.

They sent me their cancellation notice exactly one week before my 30 day license revoke period ends, which means if I don't have another insurance carrier by the end of this week, I will not get my license back and I will end up paying almost $250.00 for a new license. Geico is an absolutely awful insurance company. One little "accident" or "traffic violation". They will not just increase your insurance rates. They will instead cancel your policy. Never, ever, again will I refer Geico to anybody!

Because of Geico cancelling my insurance policy and sending me a notice of this exactly 5 business days before I am to receive my license back, I am being forced to "hustle and rush" to find an insurance carrier before this day, or I will end up paying for $250.00 just for a new license. Geico had no right cancelling my policy because of one traffic violation. I feel that they also purposely waited until 5 business days before my SR22 was required to be filed with the State of South Dakota, just to cause an inconvenience for me.

My letter to a Geico representative:

This note is to express the frustration we have gone through when dealing with the mechanical breakdown DPT. A year ago, my BMW had some problems and after paying for MB insurance for over 6 years I expected the problems should be resolved. But all I received was delays and goes around answers.

The engine and the transmission of my car had to be replaced and the MB department decided to go the cheap route and send the car to an off market transmission shop which didn't fix the problem and I had to deal with the repair shop for a year in a monthly basis. Then the engine was replaced with a used engine that had not been tested.

Anyway, we had problems with the engine since the beginning and after calling them, they keep asking for test from the dealer. Now, we finished the tests and the MB dpt. tells me that is out of warranty and is nothing they can do. Then a supervisor calls me and tell me to contact her and when I call, they told me they can't help me. Anyway, the engine is not starting 90% of the time and when it does, it dies on a stop light or when I slow down, I took it to the dealer and they told me that the engine is failing. Plus, I got a message on the car that says " Accelerate gently and drive slowly, avoid high engine loads, as catalyst damage result, please contact BMW immediately." We called the mechanical breakdown with this problem months ago and I just get the run around. Please help me. What can I do now?

The guy was right in the middle of filing a false police report, and he admitted the whole thing. The insurance claim (on his grandpa's insurance policy) was $12000. We were spared having to put this on our policy only because of a close-knit neighborhood and some detective work. Today, we received a notice from Geico that they are raising our insurance rate because of this and an incident when a 70 year old lady hit me last month (another accident in which Geico paid nothing). Because of the "frequency of claims" and our family's "bad luck", they want to charge us $700 a month, 4x more than we currently pay.

I am writing to complain and to request a full investigation against GEICO for misrepresentation of insurance, bad faith conduct and unfair business practices by changing the policy terms without notifying me, the policyholder, which is causing me great emotional distress.

As a GEICO customer, I have carried full coverage automobile insurance on my 1997 Honda Accord which I have purchased new in 1997. Mechanical breakdown was included in my insurance policy and I have been paying for it since 1997. The mechanical breakdown insurance (MBI) which was supposed to be for the lifetime of the car but was changed at some point to cover the vehicle for 7 years or 100,000 miles whichever comes first.

I purchased the car in New York and relocated to Virginia for my job and transferred my policy with GEICO. On 12/2/2011, I attempted to file a claim to have some repairs done on my vehicle. These repairs were supposedly covered on the MBI. After speaking to multiple customer service representatives, I have been told that the mechanical breakdown portion of my insurance policy has been expired since 2004. I have been back and forth with GEICO and I am requesting that they refund me the money they overcharged me for the last 8 years which should total $ 2,438.40. I was told that the mistake was made when I transferred the policy from NY to Virginia and the representative at that time should have removed the mechanical breakdown insurance from my policy.

They are supposedly looking into sending me a refund that should be backdated to 11/4/2006. To date, GEICO has been reducing the policy amount and applying credits to my account instead of refunding me the money that was falsely taken from me. There has been no resolution. I requested many times to speak to a manager and still have not heard from anyone.

After calling my bank, the rep informed me it will take a long process to put a freeze on the account, and he told me to call Geico back, and explain to them what occurred, and ask them to refund my money. So, I called again, and spoke to Paula. She informed me of a non-payment, in which I clearly didn't understand, so I asked her if she can send me an invoice of the charges that accrued on an old account from 2009. "Sure", she said.

Later, she told me her colleague will send me that email, since her computer is not allowing her to do so. This is the funny part! I was more than willing to pay it for that day's coverage and whatever fees I've accumulated for processing a policy. They sent the transaction to my bank which I didn’t understand. But I accepted it because maybe I called after a cut off period or something. Fine! I couldn’t understand for the life of me why once the first electronic payment was stopped and why there was a second debit in my account from GEICO. To make things worst, the second transaction did not appear until a Saturday morning, while I was on vacation in Las Vegas.

When I called GEICO to inform them what has happened, a sales rep instructed me to fax a copy of a bank statement showing the second debit to my account. She said that she'll take care of it plus any overdraft fees if applicable. The very next day (while on vacation), I woke up bright and early to follow through with the instructions given to me. I found out hours later from a supervisor that there's nothing GEICO can do for it was the weekend. Second, it's accounts receivable who issue refunds and they would most likely not issue a refund if the policy was active. They were basically telling me to wait until the check clears or gets rejected and pay any fees they accumulated for me or wait until Monday to speak with someone in AR and wait probably a week or so for a refund to be issued.

I have never in my life dealt with a company who have no customer service skilled employees or employees who cannot help customers in time of need. Luckily, I kept looking at insurance carriers after I went to GEICO, because this would have not been a happy beginning to a relationship between GEICO and I. I'm glad I'm elsewhere now. And if I ever need to change insurances again, I know now after reading the rest of the reviews to skip right on by GEICO.

I was told that I had a $1000 medpay but we would not get it because it would be paid directly to the provider, although all bills were paid including any deductibles. I was then told that I would receive a refund within 10 business days after receipt of proof of payments. The adjuster quit her job and our claim was never processed. We have been passed around from several adjusters for the past 3 months. No one can seem to answer any questions and they keep giving us the runaround. All the while they keep debiting our account although they have very poor performance.

Our company vehicle was involved with someone who had insurance with Geico. This accident happened in April 2011 and we still haven't received all the reimbursement for the damages. Instead of paying the shop for repairs or rental units, they had us pay and then submit to them. This, to me, is totally wrong. What if we didn't have the funds to pay up front?

I am still trying to get payment for some charges which they have had copies of since April and instead of paying us for the actual repair bill, they paid the estimate. One thing is for sure, I will not ever change my car insurance to Geico after this experience.

My minor child aged 14 was a passenger and victim in a rear-end collision in Houston, Texas while sitting at a stop sign. My daughter sustained major whiplash and was seen by a chiropractor for months. So did the driver. Jacalyn ** of the Claims dept. told me straight up my daughter was getting nothing because she was not hurt! Geico did however replace the entire bumper on the van because it was destroyed.

I hired Loancar & Associates after months of Geico ignoring me. To my shock Loancar did the same thing! They took the case right away but never called me. After several months Loancar said "Geico won't pay and it' s not worth their time as far as money is concerned". I dropped Loancar, called Geico and they made me deal with Jacalyn again. They even refused to pay the total doctor bill of 4000.00. How does this happen? How is it that an attorney can't even get an insurance company to pay? I don't know where to turn.

I owe 4000.00 to my daughter's chiropractor. She still suffers from shoulder pain now and then. She went through alot of pain for about six months. She had major whiplash. It's documented by her doctor! Geico said they will settle this for $3,300.00 which does cover the doctor bill and leaves nothing for my child. I think I need a whiplash attorney. However, withdrawal still happened. It caused me to bounce the last 2 outstanding checks I had. I called GEICO and learned that they have no record of my call to cancel autopay. They wanted me to provide a 14 day bank statement and cell phone statement showing call to GEICO and the duration. I won't do it because I'm not giving some GEICO employee 14 days of my personal spending habits to review. So I'll eat $105 in overdraft charges / returned check fees from Wells. If they return checks to Publix, I'll eat another $70 in returned check fees.

Second, that it will be the same price, if I split it in monthly payments or pay all at once (I specifically ask for this) and Third, that there's no problem with my record and there won't be any extra charges of any kind because he checked, and everything will be by e-mail.

I have a flood policy that I obtained through you, which was then serviced by travelers. However, I paid GEICO services, everything about the policy except the enforcement of it. A year ago, I tried to get out of forced placed flood insurance from Bank of America. A three way call was made and you told me that I could lower my contents coverage, after I told you that it was a 3rd floor condo. You, GEICO sales rep, then asked me if I had a basement and water heater furnace etc. I replied yes. I was told that this would be covered in the event of a flood and that I should keep it. BOA still on the phone said that they needed to protect their investment in case of a flood and would not let me cancel the policy. Both BOA and myself believed we were covered in the event of a flood. I have contents and also building/structure coverage.

Well, there has been a flood. All the essential covered components in the policy are ruined and for some reason not being covered! My utilities and the building and structure have been damaged. How is this possible? You cannot mislead people like this. I called yesterday and was told by a flood rep that he has no ability to tell me about my policy. I bought it from you, didn't I? There is no problem in receiving my check, is there? You service the policy as my agent. You need to treat your customers better. I have every insurance with you and this has strongly made me consider finding a better carrier. I am contacting Consumer Affairs and the BBB next.

The point of this is that we have purchased a policy for protection that GEICO led us and the bank to believe. Even when we tried to cancel, we were assured we would be covered. Now when it comes time for a claim, I am being told that the building/structure is not covered. I asked where does it state this in the policy and there is no answer. Someone is interpreting my policy incorrect.

Since I wasn't going to pay for the whole year up front, they told me I had to sign-up for automatic debits from my checking account-- okay, fine. However, I told them that I wanted the down-payment with one account, and all future payments with another account. They said that was fine, but they totally screwed that up. They charged the wrong bank account the next month.

This caused my account to be overdrawn and checks to bounced, which caused me to pay almost $100 in fees! When I called Geico and told them about it, they would not accept any responsibility or whatsoever, let alone reimburse me for the fees. I don't want an insurance company that is arrogant; that will not admit they made a mistake, and will not do anything to fix it. I will never recommend Geico to anybody! I cancelled my policy the very next day, and urge all of you to do the same. Get an insurance company that you trust, not Geico!

My vehicle was involved in a hit by a U-Haul truck. I immediately called Geico and followed their directions exactly. I retrieved the police report, called Geico with the information, contacted the other person's insurance company and et cetera. Apparently, the insurance information on the police report was incorrect, and I was told that my claims representative would research the correct insurance information for U-Haul, and return my call.

I called several times because I did not receive any return calls from Geico. Finally, I decided to do the research myself. I searched U-Haul headquarters and got their insurance information through Google. Now, one would think an insurance company, especially one as large as Geico, could certainly find out who U-Haul is insured by quicker than I can. It quickly became apparent to me that I needed to file a claim through Geico because twelve days had passed and no one had even looked at my car to estimate the repairs.

Once filed through Geico, it took several calls to get the car towed from the tow yard. Once again, it was of communication and negligence which led to me, making several calls to get someone from Geico to tow it. One week later, Geico still cannot get the insurance information for U-Haul Truck Company. I called to give them the information I had on U-Haul which was names, contact information, a claim number and an adjuster. Two days later, they had no record of that information in their computers and I was being advised that I was nearing the end of my rental coverage, and that I would need to pay the remaining five days out of pocket. I was also told that I could submit for reimbursement from U-Haul.

In the meantime, Geico will be using the contact information that I researched on my dime to seek reimbursement for their expenses. I would think the least (and most practical) thing to do would be to pay the remaining five days on my rental, and seek reimbursement for everything at once. When I called to speak to a supervisor, I was told, "We work as a team, and anyone can help you.”

The problem is no one is helping me. The customer service is terrible; there is no follow through, and there is a dangerous lack of communication. Geico, however, assigned someone to see that your case gets taken care of; paperwork is filed, etcetera, but you cannot actually "speak" to this person because they have no direct extension or contact information. What good is this person's job if they cannot be held accountable for what they are supposed to do? This is a disgrace, and I highly advise anyone considering Geico to avoid them at all costs! Your 15 percent savings is tacked on to "the back end" by cutting corners, poor service, and an overall lack of morals.

My father went to the Infiniti and got an estimate worth $1050 as the rear bumper has to be replaced. My wife, Dana **, was in an accident involving her car and another car. The other car she rear ended, when it stopped abruptly to turn into a place of business. The damage done to her car was to the front and front right of her car.

In 4/12/2011, we called GEICO to file a claim, and they sent us to Richard **, Auto Damage Claims Adjuster, on **. From the time of the accident to getting the car in (7/27/2011), we were saving up for our 250.00 deductible. Upon dropping the car off we were informed that we didn't have to pay, until the completion of repairs.

The initial bid for repairs was never seen by either me or Dana. After work was already started on the 2005 Chevy Malibu, we found out what the total estimate price was. We immediately started to question and call the collision center and GEICO adjuster, looking for a reason to be spending over 6,000 dollars on our car. We brought up the question of what our car was worth and why we were fixing it, instead of totaling it.

All they told us was that they were fixing the car and it would be done on the 19th of August. They still have no answer for us, on what our car was worth and should we be totaling it or not. The initial research from Kelley Blue Book revealed our car is worth 4,910.00, in fair condition and 5,760.00 in good condition. And by definition it would be a stretch to classify the 2005 Malibu in good condition.

It took an excess of three weeks to fix the damages on her Malibu, where Dana had to call and try to extend our rental car coverage, due to a lengthened time of completion of repairs.

The Collision Center's communication was awful. After numerous attempts of Dana asking to call her, she is the only one handling these issues and I am still getting messages that she did not receive anything from the Collision Center of America.

Dana did try to pick up the car and there were issues with the Collision Center, when she found out that they told the rental place that our car was already picked up. On one occasion, one of the personnel of the Collision Center harassed Dana about her communication skills with me, that person said, "We left messages with your husband; maybe you need to work on your marriage and communication skills."

The number of calls was placed to GEICO, in regards to the rental car being covered for the extended period of working time on Malibu. The rental car was to be covered, due to us having no control of our car being worked on or the drama to ensue, due to lack of quality workmanship on the Malibu.

August 26th, 27th, and 28th, we called the Collision Center, but they did not return our call. On August 30th, Dan from Enterprise called back and said, "Your car was picked up, why do you still have the rental car?" On August 30th, JT from Collision Center called around 10:37AM; he said that the rental car can be squared up, due to the miscommunication on their part.

On September 3rd, I called the Collision Center, but did not return my call, again. On September 8th, Jeffry ** called and said that everything will be taken care of.

When Dana finally picked up her 2005 Chevy Malibu, she was exhausted from trying to get proper and fair treatment, she drove home realizing her car was unsafe. For starters, the power locks don't work anymore. The oil was never changed, or filled up to the proper level, with an oil indicator light on the display. There was even a dent still in the front right quarter panel; which I believe should have been fixed. Worst of all, she told me her breaks were still making noise.

Once again, she is back on the phone with the Collision Center, explaining that her car was not fixed to satisfactory. They sent a tow truck out to pick up the car. The Collision Center would not return, or cover another rental, even though it was their job to return us a safe and completely fixed Malibu. Dana is a plain housewife with 3 kids in school and no means of transportation

She called a GEICO supervisor (Jeffery **, Sept. 8th 2011), and tried to complain and find somebody who could get to the bottom of why, getting a car fixed through insurance is such a hassle. They said that they would check into it and let us know. After the first day, the car was brought back and we heard from the Collision Center. They stated that they fixed the car, according to what went wrong in the crash and that was it. They said the dent was there, it was fine that the power locks didn't work, and that our breaks were our responsibility.

Knowing this they also gave us a final sheet from NADA telling us our car was worth 7,175.00. This was the Clean Retail Value of the Malibu. To reinstate the definition of Clean Retail Value, as it is stated in their printout.

Clean Retail Values reflect a vehicle in clean condition. This means a vehicle with no mechanical defects and passes all necessary inspections with ease. Paint, body and wheels have minor surface scratching with a high gloss finish and shine. Interior reflects minimal soiling and wear with all equipment in complete working order. Vehicle has clean title history.

This definition clearly is not what shape the 2005 Chevy Malibu is in. The seats and interior is soiled, where a professional cleaning is needed, and might not even clean the stains. The fact that they knew and refused to fix the said breaks leaves the car in poor mechanical driving condition. All interior equipment is in poor working conditions. Leaving power locks not working, the CD player doesn't work leaving only a radio. And most important, this is the 2005 Malibus second major accident; CarMax even noticed clamp marks and frame damage on the car when I brought in for an appraisal.

In addition to their price sheet being for a car in excellent condition, Collision Centers added every option they could think of to make the Malibu look like it was worth more. You can see on the NADA price sheet all the options listed. I've highlighted and checked in orange what the 2005 Chevy Malibu is actually equipped with. The bids, estimates and values listed in this complaint are attached following the letter.

To conclude this, I would like to express how upset Dana and I are with this whole insurance claim. Dealing with GEICO and the Collision Centers of America was a fiasco. We were run around playing phone tag with multiple different representatives, as we were both called simultaneously, being told condescending information about the damages and repairs being done. And at the end of it all, it was us trying to tell you we were unhappy with the service, they are telling us, "We fixed your car now come and get it." We paid the deductable of 250.00 to get our car back. We spent the needed 155.52 dollars of brake parts, and three hours of my time in labor went in, as well.

I have photos that show you what the Collision Center never really looked at. We then took the 2005 Chevy Malibu straight to CarMax for an appraisal to find that it was worth 2,500.00 to us. We are no dealership who is going to get a Clean Retail Value for a car. Even the Kelley Blue Book prices in fair to good condition, still do not meet the expenses to fix the car. And as the final low blow, all the talk about us being taken care of with a rental car during this whole ordeal was just a smoke screen, as we received a bill from Enterprise for 564.17 dollars, on September 14th. All together, this is the worst experience I've ever had from an insurance company, auto repair shop, and rental facility that seem to be working side by side to make this happen. Bravo!

We would like to see a refund for our deductibles, our Enterprise bill taken off our names, as it's not our fault it took an extended amount of time to fix our car. I would like a written apology to my wife from the Collision Center for making personal comments about her life, which I'm pretty sure is against the law or business policy. And mostly, I would like the personnel involved to be investigated, for their business ethics and claims decisions. Our 2005 Malibu should have been totaled from the beginning, and none of this would have happened. I feel somebody was trying to make a dollar, or making sure their business had something to work on and our car was their opportunity. I feel used and cheated out of a proper insurance claim.

In final addition before sending this complaint, my wife Dana just had her car over heat, while driving on the highway for the first time since the repairs. The radiator was inspected and supposedly worked on by the Collision Center in the repairs invoice. Yet, another problem with the car after receiving a completed product out of the Collision Centers of America shop. It is not the owner's job to double check every fluid and piece of mechanics on their car, right after they get it from a shop who told us that it was complete and in Clean Retail Value. All in all, I've found nothing clean about their work, their customer service, their communication skills, and their overall responsibility to be moral and ethical in the work they do.

To the driver's credit, he did contact my relatives who owned the house where my car was parked in front of. He asked me to get a quote, I went to Service King and asked them to do high-end and low-end quotes. Service King initially stated that even on the low end my car may be totalled because of the extent of the damage. The Service King repair guy explained to me in detail that the extent of the damage is unknown and the quote may be more because he cannot see what damage is under the panel which would need to be removed. I give the quote to the guy and he then files the claim. Apparently, GEICO uses Service King but not that particular branch of Service King. So I took the car to another place, on the other side of town. I was 10 minutes late to my initial appointment (I got lost) and the GEICO adjuster cancelled my appointment and told me I needed to reschedule (he was sitting at his desk doing nothing).

I called, and ranted, and raved and got another appointment that same day but in another Service King. I went on the other side of town and took the car for the adjustment with the GEICO adjuster and her quote is considerably less than the initial quote ($2500 difference). I figured it would be lower but that bothered me and made me feel as though I'm not getting a fair quote. I was told that there may be additional damage but I can only get an appraisal for that if I allow them to do the repair. I feel it is only fair that I am given all of the information available to me before deciding how to proceed. Is there a way to get an unbiased opinion? I am a bit upset with this process. I don't want to get over, I just want what is fair.

I called my bank and the funds were still in my account.

After much research, I found out that the representative that took my payment over the phone on the 9th selected an old account line to an old debit card that was used years ago. And that is why my coverage was cancelled. I contacted Geico again and requested that they review the recording of my payment, because I am positive I selected a payment from my checking account which I do every month and the representative always make you recite the account number to them.

Geico never got back to me about the recording, and I also expressed to them to check the history of my account which will also show how I always pay with my checking account. They never responded about the recording, and then, I received a letter on August 30, 2011 saying they are denying my claim and any liability.

This is more than unfair when their representative clearly made a huge error by selecting the incorrect account. And I was not notified that my policy was cancelled. And now I am stuck with damage to my vehicle, and they are not taking responsibility for an error that they made. I had a new one put in three and a half years ago and when I took it back to have it checked, they told me that it had two times the freon in it and they took half of it out; the only way it could had gotten freon in it was when they were doing the repairs. Now, my compressor is burned up and they are telling me that they will not pay to have a new one put in. They say that there is no proof that there was any work done on the AC but it has always worked great and I have never had it in the shop for any repairs so it had to be done when they fixed my vehicle without my approval.

If I had been given the choice, I would have gotten another opinion on fixing my wrecked CRV before deciding where to have it fixed and they may have seen the AC was damaged but I wasn't given that choice.

After 40 years, as a good customer and good driver (paying over $120,000.00 to them), I thought that they would be glad to rush in and fix my car, but no.

I had a $200 deductable. My wife took off from work to look after the car (losing days of pay). The inspector estimated the bill to be $325 minus the $200, which bring my check to be a whole $125. But he refused to give my wife the check (even though she brought all the paper work they asked for). GEICO said that there was a lean on my car by a finance company, and they get the check. I paid off the car 8 years ago! They said that if I did some more running around for them, I could get a check. But I have already lost money by filing a claim. What did they do with the $120,000? Buy the gecko an island? I cancelled my claim.

I filed my no fault claim with my insurance company, GEICO, because I didn't want to deal with our company/commercial vehicle situation. GEICO sent me to one of their preferred repair facility. My car came back with additional damages. Then, when I called them, they told me that the scratches were already there, and it's just that the picture the body shop took was at a bad angle. Then, they broke a part on the inside of the car. They told me it's normal wear and tear. I can't wait for this claim to be closed because I'm done with them. After 10 years, I get treated like a step-child.

And every time you call the office, it goes to voicemail and no one calls you back till 4 to 5 days later if you are lucky. My auto body shop keeps calling also. On 15 August 2011, my street flooded due to intense rainstorms. My car was parked in front of my home and was submerged in a high level of water, and on the interior it was above the seats (to give you a visual idea of the damage).

My adjuster claimed that the car was not totaled after first inspecting the car, and issued a payment of $1,049 to me. Even someone who isn't a car expert knows that this amount of money will do nothing except get the seating replaced and carpets shampooed. Every person on my block who was parked on the street when the flooding occurred had total losses declared by their respective insurance companies, so it isn't like I am the only one this happened to.

I had the car towed to a mechanic a couple of days later. The mechanic tells me that the car is definitely totaled because of the damage, along with future problems that could occur with the vehicle. The mechanic told me that they would contact my adjuster and send in the supplement form to Geico to move forward.

After over a week of me calling both Geico and the mechanic everyday in order to be proactive, I finally had to contact a senior adjuster to complain, because the mechanic said that he kept contacting my adjuster with no response whatsoever. The adjuster claims that no one ever called him, which I know is not the case. Why would the mechanic lie to me? I was calling them everyday and being a royal pain.

Finally, two days after, I had called the senior adjuster and the car was declared a total loss. I called Geico customer service in their claims department to find out the status of my claim and they said that it had not yet been declared a total loss. A hurricane hit us folks in New York so Geico is inundated with claims, and Geico says that they won't extend my 30-day rental policy coverage.

I call Geico everyday, and everyone at Geico points fingers at one another in different departments. Geico is the party that is dragging this out, and there is nothing I can do. I will soon not only be left without a car at all, but no settlement check to buy a new car. I now have an attorney, and I may have to take action against Geico.

I am getting married in two weeks and then leaving the country for a week, so if this is not handled by next week, I will then be gone for a period of two weeks. I even told Geico that I am reasonable and I don't care how long this process takes as long as they cover me on a rental for the duration of that time. I am compassionate, and I understand that they are overloaded with claims because of the natural disaster that has happened.

I may now have to take legal action against Geico because I feel that they are liable for this negligence not only in relation to the time frame, but the quality of the adjuster's assessment of my vehicle. I have no other options at this point. If anyone else has a similar situation to mine, please contact me, and maybe together we can fight against this. Thank you.

After about 3 months, GEICO physician determined that I required additional medical treatment. GEICO refused to pay any of my claim for lost wages after that point. Four months later, I was seen by another GEICO physician who stated that I did not require any treatment beyond 90 days after the accident. This wholeheartedly refutes what the first physician said. At that time GEICO, stopped paying any benefits for my claim for first party benefits (Med/Wages/Nurse/Attn Care). To date, physical therapy has not resolved my injuries and GEICO refuses to pay for the spinal surgery that I need to resume a normal life and return to gainful employment.

On 8/2/11, GEICO rejected an arbitration award of $75,000.00 to bring my claim current. They made a counteroffer of $50,000.00 if I agree to make no further (future) claims regarding this loss.

This is ludicrous given that Michigan No-Fault Insurance Law allow lifetime medical treatment and wage loss benefits for three years following the loss. My car was stolen. It was an accident; the person who was driving had not been determined. The other person that was in the car stated that it was my son, however, I was not home and I did not give anyone authorization to drive this car. My car was hit on the driver side at the back and from the impact, this car went into a tree. The car that hit my car went in the same direction that my car was going and after hitting my car it landed into a tree. The car that hit my car went almost half a block down the same street my car was traveling before it stopped.

On the police report, the person that was in my car stated that the person driving my car was my son and he had run the stop sign. The other party said that they did not know what had happened because they did not have air bags and they received minor injury on the face. Later, base on the police report, they stated that the accident happened the way the police report said the accident happened.

The person who told them this on the police report never signed or came to court to state this and where my car was hit on the driver side in the back shows that whoever was driving the car, had to hit my car in the opposite lane that they were traveling because the car was hit in a T-shape going the same way that my car was going and they were traveling more than 35 miles an hour from what the police report stated.

Lacey at Geico told me to get a notarized letter from Chakeita ** and I finally did because at the time of the accident, Chakeita was on house arrest and she did not suppose to be out that time of night. To keep herself from going to jail, she may have said anything because she did not want go to jail and when I finally got up with her, she was on her way to jail because she did not appear in court as a witness. She stated that she did not say those things on the police report and she did not go to court on behalf of Adam ** and Jacob **.

After she saw where the hit was, she immediately stated and went to get notarized letter stating that she did not know what happened.

Lacey told me to get a notarized letter from Chakeita and I sent the notarized letter to Lacey who work for Geico in the claims department and she wrote me a letter stating that it appears per the witnesses, who is Chakeita ** who gave a notarized statement to me to send to Geico (to let them know that she did not say that on the police report), and our insured, the driver of the vehicle was driving at a high-speed and ran a stop sign colliding with our insured vehicle. For this reason we are unable to make a payment. Chakeita ** never signed anything but the notarized letter explaining he know what happened. Anyone could said that on the police report and they never did a thorough investigation because these young guys got injured.

My car was stolen and it is a possibility that Chakeita ** could have been the driver of my car. Why would she say something like that on the police report and was not signed by this so-called witness.

Chakeita ** ended up in the jail for violation of her probation. My car was stolen and I feel that this was a bad faith deal because of the way that Geico Claims Department handled the claim.

This is my resignation from GEICO Insurance affiliate/ Life Quotes. Per our conversation, I want to restate my opinion of your appalling business tactics. Let me first summarize my complaints:

    1. You stated in your advertisement for the sales position that it pays '$23 per hour'. This is completely misleading. The real pay is '$23/ hour of talk time', of which on any given shift an agent is working, 'talk time' is usually only half of the time worked. For example, if I work an eight-hour shift (of which I must be logged in the computer for eight hours), I, on average will only be 'talking' approximately four hours, of which I receive $23/ hour. So the real pay is approximately $11 hour. Why do you not advertise the position stating this fact? Are you hiding this very important fact? Is this a bait and switch tactic?

    2. In addition, to receive the '$23/ hour of talk time' an agent must also achieve three different 'ratios' (submissions ratio, talk time ratio, issued ratios). Now, if only one of these 'ratios' are not met, an agent does not receive his or her '$23/ of talk time' or any commissions earned! This is not clear in the contract and was not clearly communicated to me before I signed up. For example, an agent can work a two-week shift, work 40-80 hours on average, sell 'X' amount of policies and receive $00.00 at the end of the pay period! This is completely absurd.

How can you expect people to work for two weeks, then find out at the end of the two weeks that they will not receive anything? Why is this very critical point not emphasized in the contract? And why was this not clearly communicated to me? Again, are you trying to hide something? Do you not think that knowing this fact would be a decisive factor for an agent considering the position?

I can honestly say that had I known this, I definitely would not have signed up and invested over $1,000! In addition, I had tried to address this issue, and have email documentation, with upper management, including CEO Bob Bland and president Drew Gregory, and my issues would not be directly addressed. Each time the issue was diverted and I would not receive a direct answer.

GEICO Insurance affiliate/ Life Quotes is able to get away with this because most agents, like myself, need to invest approximately $1,000 to obtain various state licenses to start the program. Obviously, after investing such a large sum of money, an agent is committed to the program, although critical points of the pay plan stated above are not made aware to the agent until after the investment is made! This puts the agent in an uncompromising position, as you can image.

I have wasted over month of work (of which I have sold over $20,000 in annual premium!) and wasted an investment of over $1,000, due to your lack of transparency and unethical practices and now I have almost nothing to show for it. I think your business practices are appalling and it is amazing to me that a reputable company like GEICO, whom I personally have auto insurance with, would knowingly participate in the these unethical, bait and switch business tactics. Furthermore, I would think the public would be just as appalled, especially under the current economic environment, to learn that a household name company like GEICO would be involved in such practices. I am sure that the Insurance Commissioner's Office of Maryland and Illinois would also be very interested in your business practices, as well as the insurance companies you represent such as Transamerica, Genworth, MetLife, Lincoln Financial, etc.

I would hope now that you would think it would only be fair and reasonable to reimburse me of my $1,000 investment and commissions on all the policies I have written and sold, of which I am the writing agent on, and the $23 per hour of the hours I have worked. Further, I suggest you change your job advertisements so no one in the future would to go through the same ordeal.

On July 14, 2011, two ornamental Japanese plum trees located at ** fell on four vehicles. One of which was my 2005 Toyota Corolla. Wind and rain damage cause the trees to fall.

Initially, my car didn't appear to have much damage. The windshield and front damage were immediately noticeable. The other damage was covered with debris from the tree and could not be seen until the car was in full sunlight. The car was towed to Joe Hudson Collision Repair, Honeysuckle Road, Dothan, AL. They are a GEICO-approved repair facility and have a GEICO adjuster on site.

The car arrived there on July 15, 2011 at 10:51 a.m. The adjuster was gone for the rest of the day and would not see my car until Monday, July 18. When I had not heard from him on Tuesday, July 19, I called and left a message and emailed saying call me about my car. When Mr. ** (whatever his name was) did finally call, all he wanted to tell me was to calm down and call him back.

I immediately notified GEICO that I was not satisfied with this service and to provide a neutral adjuster. I wanted all further contact to be by email. They had the address since it's where I get my bill. About half an hour later, I received a call from an unknown number on my cell phone. I did not answer as I was on my job. As soon as this call was terminated, the business phone rang. It was a Mr. ** about my car. These people do not understand the English language of do not call me, email me.

I finally received **'s adjustment on my car. This was on the GEICO website, not from him. It was barely under 5000$ or 90%, just enough not to declare the car totaled. The damages included the following: front driver quarter panel (repair, paint), driver door (repair, paint), trunk lid (repair, paint, replace logos), brace between windshield and driver door (repair, paint), windshield (replace), antenna (rewire, replace). So, 56 hours of mechanical labor and 23 of paint, plus windshield and pin striping.

I was notified on Thursday, July 28, that my car was almost done and I would be contacted for an appointment to pick up my car. Friday, July 29, when I had not received a call by 10 a.m., I called to see when my car would be done. It's done, we told you that yesterday. I have the emails.

I had a rental car from July 15-29. My boss paid for most of it because I can not afford rental insurance on my insurance since it has increased every six months for the last four years of coverage. This was all GEICO coverage. I returned the rental at 574$, and my ex took me to retrieve my car in Dothan, an hour trip from my job.

When I got to Joe Hudson, my car was at the parking lot. We did a walk-around and noticed many repairs that had not been accounted for in the adjustment and therefore not made. They are as follow: dashboard still covered in glass and has a gash just below the windshield...was not there prior, I have photos of dash); glass not cleaned from driver's seat, floorboard, around the gear shift, etc.; pin striping is peeling off; the following locations have paint issues; the brace has bare metal showing; the passenger rear door has a scratch and a swirl pattern damage; the rear passenger quarter panel has metal showing; the driver door handles are now missing coverage and scratched; antenna has not been replaced, was on back order and have still not heard from the repair shop that it was received yet; the interior brace between the windshield and driver door no longer is flush; gaps at top and bottom; the antenna wire that comes up said brace now protrudes out onto the windshield (it has not been replaced); the steering on the driver front tire is now like sitting in a locomotive where it was like a sewing machine; the fender tire well has been destroyed and when I turn it, it catches on the tire and ruins the tire. There is also fresh damage on both bumpers, which they refused to replace or repair because there was existing old damage. This is understandable. But what about the rest of these that they refused to take care of?

They did send a second adjuster, Jason ** on August 8, 2011. He said the dashboard repair alone would cause it to be totaled, but they wouldn't total it because they have already paid Joe Hudson (less my 500$ deductible, I have check). He took photos. I had already taken photos and uploaded to their claim site and a letter stating all of the above damages that were untouched.

I got a call today, August 11, 2011, from Mr. ** saying they would send me a check for 100$ for the glass cleanup. Otherwise, this was a done deal. I told him...see you all in court.

I've never been in a car accident and have never filed an insurance claim. I have years of high performance driver training along with advanced driver training from my current employer. Needless to say, I'm a very good driver.

I had made an inquiry to GEICO about my vehicle coverage for a sanctioned and insured HPDE (High Performance Drivers Education) course at Watkins Glen Raceway. A couple months later, I received a letter that they had cancelled my insurance for using my vehicle for racing.

I had naturally called GEICO to explain that an HPDE is a non-timed educational course designed to improve car control, ultimately to improve on road driving ability. They continued to accuse me of racing and being a high risk driver, solely based on a phone inquiry that I made to determine my coverage.

Why did I call GEICO in the first place? To determine if I needed supplemental track insurance, in case of an incident.

My complaint is they falsely, with no evidence or record, placed me into a high risk driving category. Their logic was that because I attended High Performance Driving Schools, I will be inclined to race my car on the street. I explained to them that that is like saying, just because I get drunk at home does not mean I'll go out and drive drunk.

In either case they would not give me a legitimate reason for cancelling my insurance. Again, I had always paid my bills, had never had a claim and only had one minor traffic violation for not obeying a traffic control device.

In May, GEICO started sending me letters asking me to provide them info about my husband (I'm divorced and my policy was indicated as such), insisting that my husband be included in my policy. I felt weird. They were greedy and aggressive with their request. Thinking of some office records mix-up, they would correct themselves, but they did nothing about it. I was very specific about physical damages to my car but I have not received any benefits being a member as yet.

I just found out that GEICO cancelled my car insurance policy-- without sending me an email notification. GEICO has my email address. I am was out of the USA since January 2011,, and did not receive any cancellation email. This is outrageous. I was told only today, July 2011, that GEICO cancelled my insurance because" of too many accidents".

I had one accident where a woman drove into my half open car door, and I was declared half responsible. The woman was on a cell phone, and not attentive to her driving. The second "accident" was when my friend drove my Jeep, and smashed the side mirror of another car by coming too close. That is all what happened and the accidents were both MINOR. Is it really possible that a company that receives my money since 2005 can cancel my insurance policy because of these minor accidents that were both way under $1000? With me paying most of it? I call that a criminal offense!

On April 16, 2011 my vehicle was damaged by a tornado. Bradley ** was the adjuster on my claim. After all his calculations he asked us to come in to discuss everything. During the discussion I asked if "I could buy the car back." He told me no. My wife and I were upset because it was a very good car and it was almost paid for. So we took what was offered to us after the pay off and went car shopping. The other day I found out in North Carolina that the law allows the consumer to be given the option to buy the vehicle back and get a salvage title. I'm very upset when I found out about that because I asked if I could do so with my car and was told that was not possible. I'd like to know what can be done now that my car is probably at a junkyard and is being parted out.

My accident happened on May 17, 2011. The lady did not yield to the yield sign and hit me on the driver side of my car. The police was called, the witness and the fire department as well. Two days later, a young lady by the name of Ronnesha ** from GEICO called. She was very pleasant on the phone and asked me questions. She told me to recall what happened in my own words. In my mind, I was thinking that this will be settled in no time. She proceed and asked the next question if "did I get hurt". My reply was yes. Ronnesha stopped the interview because the driver did not inform her that I was hurt. Ronnesha informed me that another claim adjust will contact me because I was hurt in the accident.

Days later, I got a phone call from Julia **. She was pleasant on this first phone call, it seemed that she was considerate. I also explained to her what happened and informed her at time that I did not see the doctor yet. At this time, I am off of work for a couple of days at the beginning. I had pick out a lawyer at the beginning as well. Because of that, Ms Julia would not talk with me because I did have a lawyer.

One week went by, I made another call to see what she needed to speed this claim up. Ms Julia returned the call with a huge attitude an in high tone voice, saying that she can not speak with me because I had a lawyer. She spoke to me like I was a child. She was very nasty at the same time. When she stopped talking, I informed her that I no longer have a lawyer and I want this claim done as soon as possible. She again said with this nasty voice, "Well you need a letter stated that you are no longer represented." Cool, I sent her the letter that the lawyer sent me. Mind you, it has been weeks--almost a month--after the accident.

After I sent Julia all the information that she has requested--rental car statements, bills that came in a month later, receipts from the police department,etc.--I then received the first letter dated 5/24/11 about my accident. It stated that I had to fill out these forms, medical forms. I called Julia about this because I did not understand it. She was nice about those forms, explaining that these forms did not apply to me. I returned the forms on 6/3/11.

I received another letter dated 5/31/11 about my car. It stated that the car was in the stored place and that if I leave it there, it will be accruing fees. But when I spoke with Julia a couple of days after the accident (getting my belongs from my car), I assumed that GEICO has seen the car already. No they did not, it was two months after the accident.

I received another letter dated 6/15/11 stating that my estimate has not been completed by an approved appraiser, and that this estimate must be completed before payment can be issued. I was asked to schedule an appointment, for which I did, (that took another week getting in touch with her) but still no answer since that date of that letter.

At the end of June, I got a phone call from GEICO about my car. This was after the fact that I had called Julia to inform her that I needed a rental car to go back and forth because I had to use all my savings to get me back and forth to work. I ran out of money over something which I think GEICO should be paying for any way.

The car adjuster called me and apologized for this long period of time. He said it should not have taken this long for me to be put into a car or to get this claim from him. Again, this was after the fact that I had to continually call Ms Julia to inform her that I am about to lose my job because I can not get back and forth to work. She had a huge attitude of "I don't care if you loss your job".

My car is my work. I live in one state and have to travel 21 miles to get back and forth to work (to another state). Her attitude is unacceptable. Going back to the car adjust, who was Randy **, he was very nice and professional about this car issue, he made sure that I had a rental car for a week before I receive my funds for the car.

Still having all my information to GEICO adjuster Julia **, I have been getting the run around about my money.

I called back Ms Julia about week ago and she still had this funky attitude about getting my money. Again, I informed her that I needed my money because I was about to be evicted from my apartment on the 20th. My paychecks are not enough to cover my losses from the accident. My savings are gone, my vacation is gone because of this accident and the slow pace of receiving my money to pay my past due bills.

I called Ms Julia again last week asking when I will receive my funds. She answered with an attitude and as if she were talking to a child. In her nasty voice, she said she was waiting for a doctor's statement. OK, If I needed this, why did she not tell me this a month ago, when I should have had my money by now, and not three months later.

Yes, we got into a screaming match because I did not appreciate her tone of voice. Yes, I was very pissed off because I needed my money and it was just sitting there on her desk when I needed to pay my past bills. I called Ms Julia on 7/8/11 and left a message on the phone and email asking for my funds. She returned my call on 7/13/11, stating that she has not even started on my paperwork. This was after the fact that she said all I needed was my doctor's statement, which I sent after the fourth of July. This was the last straw.

I asked for the supervisor's number. I called on 7/13/11 and left a message for Lori **. She has not returned my call. This despite the fact that when I asked Julia for the supervisor's number, she told me that 'she does not have time to speak with me as well'. I am up to my neck and over my head for this messed up service that I have received from this company GEICO. The employees working for this company need to find another job.

I don't think that any company should have someone's funds on hold because they don't want to do their job. I need my money ASAP like today 7/15/11. I have never been treated like this before from a company that is claiming that they are the best.

My question is, how long does it take to receive your funds? Should it take three months, especially when you have bills to pay and your saving is all gone? How selfish is that? When trying to solve and help the case along, the person had a ** attitude from the beginning.

Again, I don't have enough money to pay my bills this month. I can not borrow any more money from anyone because I still owe them. I have bills that are due as of writing this complaint on GEICO. I have my eviction notice on the 20th. I have student loan on the 24th, which is automatic out of my account. I have cell phone bill, which comes out on the 20th. I have court bill due on the 24th as well. Yes, I don't have much bills but it's enough that these past due bills are on my credit and a pay plain. I have a car note of 150 every two weeks, for which I can not mess the payment but because of GEICO's slow process, I am behind payment. I need help NOW!!! I am not patient anymore. I have left her messages, email, phone calls. Nothing.

When I called to do so I was told I owed some balance of $71.00 which I was in shock over because I have always paid EVERY month withdrawn out of my bank account of what GEICO has charged. Then I'm told I still owe a payment for June 12 2011, but as my bank account records show I PAID my June 12, 2011 payment in FULL. Then Im told well its because I owed more back in May 12 2011, but again as I have records PROOF of my bank account and GEICO's billing statements that I PAID in FULL my May 12 2011 payment. I have PAID in FULL every single payment I have been charged by GEICO every single month.

So I ask them "How can I be charged something that I do not owe?" In which they replied by saying because of a computer error on GEICO's behalf Im getting a charge for something that is not my fault. I have not received any notification nor did any of my billing statements from GEICO show that I owed a back owed charge for the months I carried and paid for with GEICO insurance. I am out raged that this company. I'VE PAID EVERY SINGLE BILL THAT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Their was never no records showing on my bill statements from GEICO that I owed a past due amount and I have every single bank statement and document to prove I did not have a remaining balance or late payment. Only when I called to cancel my insurance because I want to go with a better company they are trying to say I owe them money.

    This is regarding claim #0118949410101049.

I was involved in a car accident on 6/20 that was not my fault.

The police were called to investigate and process a report.

I contacted an agent, Emily **, who informed me that I was not at fault, and that my claim would be processed quickly in order to receive monies to put toward the purchase of a new vehicle (since mine was totalled).

It is now 7/5 and I am nowhere near a resolution. Supposedly the person that hit me only has $10,000.00 worth of liability coverage so it has to be split between my damages and the car I hit after she hit me. They can't seem to locate that guy so I'm in limbo.

    This also means that:

    A) my car is already gone. I gave in the title and I have nothing to show for it
    B) the amount I was quoted is probably nowhere near what I'll get since they also charge a fee to send the vehicle for salvage.
    C) the rental is not covered even though I received a confirmation # so in all likelihood I'll have to pay for the 3 weeks I've had a rental car.
    D) and now I have to wait and see if they can reach this other driver before I get a dime or the alternative is to file under my policy and pay a $1,000.00 deductible and hope I get it back as well as admit liability and pray my rates don't go up.

    E) Additionally... I had to turn in my plates last Friday and am now paying insurance on a car I do not own and a registration I do not have.

I cannot get anyone to give me a clear-cut answer on any questions, or anyone to help me directly with this issue without giving me the runaround. I have been a loyal paying Geico customer for a long time now and do not deserve to be treated like this. When I finally need them most... they treat me shabbily.

I told the representative 4 times, that I only wanted a quote so that we could do some price comparison shopping, yet this representative named Michael added my son to the policy, and then proceeded to demand payment for adding him to the policy! I corrected him, and told him that I only wanted a quote, to which he decided to argue with me and demand payment.

I requested to speak to a supervisor, who only ended up being Michael claiming to be a supervisor (unmistakable voice). So, I put my fiance on the phone, and he was just as rude to her. She hung up and we tried to call back, hoping to get someone different to no avail. Geico even advertises free quotes, yet they didn't give me a free quote. They wanted $250.00! As I said, I have been with Geico for over 10 years, but after this incident, I will find new a new insurance carrier.

On Nov 7, 2010 at 5:30pm, the rain had somewhat stopped. However, earlier that day due to high winds and rain, the power was out on the East side of town leaving no traffic signals working and no street lights on. Businesses had to close, including Target and Costco, due to the power outage. I entered into the left turn lane at this major intersection, with no traffic lights on, waited my turn, treating it like a four way stop I read in the DMV handbook, and proceeded to turn left. More than halfway through my turn, I get hit on the front passenger side of my 3/4 ton 4x4 truck, which I had only had 18 days and started my insurance with liability only, by a car barreling down the road, not even attempting to apply the brakes. I was turned completely to the opposite direction from which I came from. There were other cars stopped at this intersection that had watched the whole thing. Two of them got out to see if I was okay. With a few bruises, I was not bad.

I went over to check on the other people and one was screaming about her legs; no seat belts, I was told later. I couldn't really understand them as they were of East Indian nationality. The ambulance took them away immediately in three different ambulances. My truck was totaled as was their car. I talked to two witnessed as I was in shock and wasn't really sure what had happened. They told me they saw the whole thing and that they would wait to give their statements. They said the other car didn't have their headlights on. Well, it wasn't a wonder I didn't know what had happened. The police report, which took forever to get, states that the other driver was at fault, with a supplemental narrative included.

However, I have no witnesses because I was told due to the rain, the officer wasn't able to read the information he got from them because his papers got wet. So, no witnesses. I gave a statement to my insurance company within 24 hours, but I didn't hear from the insurance company for a month. I stated in both statements exactly what happened and that I didn't see them coming because they were too far away and they didn't have their lights on. Well, due to me "not seeing them" Geico decided I was 50% at fault, even though the police report says they are at fault. Of course my truck was towed away, considering I could not drive it and living in an apartment, I had nowhere to put it.

Meanwhile, I receive a towing bill at this time for $800 for towing and storage. I asked if anyone from Geico had been there to take pictures of my truck and they said no, so I went and took pictures myself. When I spoke with Geico, they asked if I wanted my truck and I told them no, I have no use for it now. They told me they didn't want it either. The towing company didn't even mention at the time that they would negotiate the bill, they waited until it got to $2,400 and then said they mentioned it after I received the first letter. Needless to say, my mom stepped in and talked to a Geico Supervisor, Vanessa **, who after explaining to her numerous times that it was not my fault, decided to change from 50% my fault to 25% my fault because I said I didn't see them coming.

Geico would not pay for the towing and storage bill. After they arrived at a value of what they thought my truck was worth, they sent me a check for $3,300. My truck is worth $6,000 not to mention the towing bill was now at $2,500. So we took the driver to small claims court with proof the traffic lights were inoperable and police report with supplemental reports. I asked for enough money to pay the storage bill and replace my truck. I received a judgement for the same amount that Geico sent me and no more.

How is it fair when you are not at fault and you end up with no truck and a towing bill, which is now the first thing on my credit report? How can I trust anyone now that I have been ** by Geico and the ** judge that probably didn't even look at my proof? I now have my first bad mark on my virgin credit history and can't imagine paying that bill and expect to get another vehicle with what would be left. I will never say anything good about Geico, ever.

GEICO said, 15 minutes to save 15% or more in car insurance or screw you up when the accident happens. They must have hidden the second sentence in the TV shows.

My Chevy Impala was hit by a midsized budget U-Haul GMC moving truck in the afternoon of March 16, in my apartment complex’s small parking lot. The rear turning light is broken but the bumper is okay. The truck driver parked in the small parking lot and admitted the scene. He gave me the ID information in front of the witness and I called GEICO that night. The second day, in the morning of March 17, GEICO's adjustor Alex **** called me to verify the accident. I told him everything including that a witness next door was with me when I talked to the truck driver. Another witness left a note on my car window and said he saw the accident and then left his cell phone number to me saying if I need witness. I thanked him and everything looks good for now. But GEICO began to play their tricks.

Nobody answers my calls and emails in the next two weeks. I thought they are trying to solve the claim and I am busy with my work. However, I didn't receive any call from Alex or GEICO, the following week. I called him back and left him a message but he didn't reply. The second week after the accident happened, still no reply from GEICO although I try to contact Alex everyday but no response. Until Wednesday, Alex happened to answer my wife's phone call. He told my wife that the truck driver was denying the accident. Holy! If GEICO knows that the other party was denying, why GEICO didn't contact me or the witnesses for verification immediately? Why GEICO did not ask me to send them pictures but just no calls and no emails for 2 weeks? Is that the normal way for GEICO to serve the customers?

So I had to change the adjustor. Finally, Nancy **** changed the adjustor for me. I thought it is going to work. But after Laura **** took everything down and contacted the witness, after one week, on April 6, Wednesday, she disappeared. I called everyday yet nobody answered again. It was Friday, finally, her colleague answered the call and told me that the note Laura recorded is that it is the truck driver’s responsibility and asked me to call next week. Today is April 13th, Laura finally calls me back after another week. They told me the opposite from what I heard from her colleague. The driver is not responsible to my accident.

GEICO'S decision is based on two reasons: 1. Witnesses are too late! Too late? Yes, they said too late. They think they are biased witnesses. For what reason? For two weeks late. Let's recall what happened. I told Alex the second morning that I have a witness with me but Alex never contacted her! Then they call this is a late witness or biased witness. The very second call from GEICO is already 2 weeks late and now 4 weeks late. GEICO told me that all the witness are late. Is it my responsibility or GEICO’s or Alex’s responsibility? They contacted the witness on the 3rd week and told me that they are too late in the 4th week. Good Job on GEICO to make fun with your customer.

    2. The height doesn't match. What part doesn't match? They said that the loading tailor height doesn't match my broken car rear turning light! They took the measurement so I asked what's the number they got. There was no answer! Okay, so now the fun part begins. A witness living upstairs saw the truck that hit me and now GEICO said that it was not that truck or what is in the pictures. This was like a GEICO adjustor was at the scene! In other words, the truck that hit me is not the one in my camera and was seen by the witnesses! What a drama? What truck did they measure? They didn’t tell me!

To find out the truth, I went to the budge rent truck today and took the picture of my car and the same type of U-Haul truck. The edge of the lodging tailor matched exactly the place where the plastic glass is broken and that is what the witnesses saw. Then, a guy in GEICO said, “Oh no! This is a Ford truck and not a GMC truck! You need find a GMC truck. I said, “Do you agree that the size is the same?” He said, “Yes, but you can't compare an apple to an orange!” Good. I went out to another Budge rental truck which is 15 minutes more drive just to find a GMC model. Here I find the same type of truck, a Ford and a GMC together! GEICO did play a good job to make fun with his customers and waste their customer’s time to do extra exercises. Pathetic! But it is true.

The conclusion is that GEICO sent out an irresponsible adjustor to slow you down. They don't answer your call or reply and then they will call witnesses as late witnesses. Then, GEICO made the decision from an irrelevant measurement which was not even checked with the witnesses or with the picture about the type and size of the truck. Why has it happened? Where is the justice? Is this the way GEICO tries to save money? By not answering the call?

My car was broken into on Feb 8th, 2011 between 9:30pm and midnight. The crooks bashed the back window, stole my hoodie, glasses, and a key to the office. The car was damaged inside - center console had scratches, all seats cut from the glass, door handles in front needed work. The headliner needed to be replaced. Lots of damage.

Geico took the car the next day, in at Fine Line Collision Center in Miami, FL, and that said it could be repaired. They work with All in Leather Inc., and had the car (providing us with a rental) for 28 days. My policy allows for 30 days. On the 28th day, All in Leather told me that we could come and look at the car, that they believed it was complete. My car looked even worse than it had when we took it in. All in Leather said that Geico didn't approve all the work (we were told by both parties up to this point that they had approved anything that needed to be done), and Humberto **, the Geico adjuster told me that this wasn't true, that he had approved everything. I was told that I had to come down to have a conference with all parties involved, as my car rental was due to expire on Sunday. Enterprise didn't work on Sundays, and it was now Friday afternoon.

On arriving at Fine Line Inc, I met Humberto, who's story had now changed. I was told that the car's damage was now 20k, the value of the car was deemed around 16k, and that it was a write off. They had already sent up the records to Tallahassee, and there was nothing I could do. He agreed that the job was indeed a bad one, and was supposedly "even ashamed to face us".

My car was paid in full. It works beautifully, and is mechanically sound. The insides are just a bit messed up now due to All In Leather Inc's shoddy work.

I was told by Geico that I have no say in the matter. I can keep the car and refuse their check, but they now have it classified as "uninsurable", and when time comes to renew the policy (in a couple months), I won't be able to insure it. They wanted me to sign right away, and just take the check. I refused, and asked for some time to think it over. They said ok.

I asked if I could buy the car back after they gave me the check. I was told No. I asked if I could get another estimate for the car for them to consider. They said No. I asked if I could just take what they could give to repair the car at my own chosen facility, so that I could keep the car. They said No. I asked if there was anything I could do to keep the car, as it's expensive now to go out and have to buy a car, and I need one. They said No.

Humberto told me I have 2 days that I can use within the policy, so that I can have time to purchase a car. Two days! To buy a car. I mean, shouldn't have they been able to tell if they couldn't fix the car a few days after they had the car? Did they need to wait until the 28th day to tell me, and then say, oh if you want we'll be nice and give you 2 days to get a car? "Out of the goodness of their heart", they've worked out a "deal" with Fine Line, and Fine Line will pay for 2 extra days. So I have 4 days to buy a car.

Dealerships are closed on Sunday. I work 8-5, and dealerships close at 8. I asked then if I could at least drive the car until I find one, that way I won't even need the rental. Now I'm told that I can, but they're not liable for any damages/accidents etc. So basically I'm not insured. Also, on bringing the car back, they're going to deduct from the check, the amount of miles driven. Added to this, they need a title, which I've ordered, and takes 7-10 days, and they said that it's my prerogative to pay the surcharge and get the title to them asap, as they won't take the car without the title either. And yes, I know it's only an extra $20, but it's just wrong on all accounts.

Please, is this even ethically allowed? Is there anyone I can go to for help? I'll give the stupid car in, but for Christ's sake, I *need* time to purchase a car. This isn't a small amount of money, and I had no thoughts of even making another car purchase for the next 10 years!

With that information, I sent an email to the president of Geico, T. **, expressing my disappointment in how I was treated but more importantly that the underwriter threatened to cancel my policy. This email was sent last 06-29-10. Apparently, he (president of Geico) did nothing because after I returned home from a surgery, I had a letter from the NCDOT that my tag had been revoked. The individual who hit me was killed and my truck was demolished. The accident report states it was the deceased individual's fault and it was said to be believed he was on a suicide mission. The impact of the collision caused the dash to be pushed in, resulting in leg problems, as well as 3 fractures, contusions and bruises.

I was sent to numerous doctors by my primary physician to determine what impact the accident had on my legs as there was a lot of pain, was well as my chest. To make a long story short, I received benefits through June 2010 from August 09. My accident was August 28, 2009. I had x-rays, bone scans and MRI's. I was placed on permanent disability.

The deceased had insurance with GEICO for $50,000. They have offered only $30,000 plus they want us to pay the medical bills (this was in agreement with Gallagher **). I am now totally disabled, my truck is gone (but I was reimbursed for the current cost of the truck) and my business is gone. So for the rest of my life, I am supposed to live on $30,000. I can hardly walk for any length of time and they say that my pre-existing condition of diabetes is the cause and not the accident; however, the doctor has indicated that it was the result of the accident that brought an onset of this. I also have a hematoma on one leg due to the accident which they say could go on for a very long time before totally healing.

I should not be responsible for any medical bills because I was referred by my primary physician to have these tests done and other specialists visited to determine my problems. I should also receive full compensation from GEICO as I am now totally disabled. I never missed work for any length of time previously and could have worked for several more years.

My son was driving my truck on Novemeber 28, 2010. He had my permission to drive. He was not speeding or anything when a raccoon ran out in front of him. He hit the raccoon and went off the road totaling my truck. Geico has not been helpful at all, and every time I see the Geico commercials that say they are a good company, makes me sense.

I carry comprehensive, as well, a rental on my truck. Geico would not authorize me a rental even after I asked several times. Now they are refusing to cover my truck since there were no witnesses to the wreck that will come forward and say they saw the animal. The police report says there was an animal involved and that my son said a dog ran out in front of him.

He had just been hit by a airbag and worst he was injured so he was not 100% what type of animal it was. The raccoon was dead on the road when me and a neighbor got to the scene. My son gave his sworn statement to Geico about the animal. Yet, they are refusing to cover my damages. I have now got to go hire a lawyer to file a suit because they refuse to honor there contract with me.

I have had a series of bad luck over the past year which unfortunately involved a car accident on Nov. 10, 2010. This was an accident in treacherous conditions on Hwy. 330, Running Springs CA., and an unincorporated town in San Bernardino County, CA. I was driving down the mountain when the boulders were on the road. Without explaining the gist of the accident, the reason for the complaint is that I did not feel that I received satisfactory treatment from GEICO.

Not only have they miscommunication with Enterprise Rental car on my situation, (which is another complaint I have filed) but without detailing a complete detailed description of how they came up with their findings of the outcome of the accident, determined that I was 60/40. I strongly disagree!

Because I have been a mountain driver longer than the driver of the other vehicle (aged 24) has been driving at all, and for the mere fact, he admittedly claimed fault, as we exchanged our insurance information, etc.

He also stated to me that this was his 2nd or 3rd accident (I don't recall which). I have told GEICO I want to appeal the decision and they kept telling me that they will get back to me! I received a letter dated Nov. 24, 2010, stating that they had come to their decision and that I could "request a reconsideration of our liability determination.” "A person other than the original decision maker will complete such a review and reconsideration. If you have additional information that you would like us to consider, please provide it to us. Today is Dec. 2nd, and I was just told on the phone, only because they kept putting me off that, they could not help me and that my case was closed!

This was Dorah **, Examiner Code F333 (800) 654-55896 x5024 Claims Department. I am appalled at this. They put me off then give me this letter of their decision, claiming to have fought for me. The weather conditions of the San Bernardino National Forest Mountains are driving conditions like no other, probably in the United States! In 15 minutes you literally go from 500 feet to an elevation level of 6,100 feet! I know, I lived in Arrowbear CA, from 1996-2005 and Crestline CA, $5,000 feet elevation from 2005-2008. I have driven up and down the mountain and had been hit three times by boulders, and their conclusion was I attempted to pass when it was unsafe to do so causing a collision! This is a falsehood! I am sick of these companies having you pay out in car insurance only to ** over, assuming you are really 100 percent at fault and stating that 60/40 was a decision I had to except! Please do something because I ready to go higher up on this. I am very disappointed in the service that GEICO has given me on these matters!

I got into a car accident where a Geico insurer admitted it was his fault. There was damage to my car. I wrote down his personal and insurance data and asked him to write in a few sentences what happened. In his writing he admitted to have not looked while driving in the lane I was in. He also signed and dated below his writing.

Geico said, I would have to wait for 1 or 2 months for some bogus reason (wait for the DMV) before any repair work could be done, although they admitted they would have to pay. I called my insurance (Mercury); let me bring in the car for repairs, they paid for the damage and sent the bill to Geico. While I was waiting, they kept insisting that I could also choose Mercury to pay for it and say the whole accident was my own fault. This way, I wouldn't have to wait 1 to 2 months before bringing in my car to the body shop. What?! So, their whole reason to let me wait is so they won't have to pay for it.

According to Geico they were waiting for paperwork from the DMV to prove that their client's car was actually his. Why would I have to wait for that and 1 to 2 months? No Geico for me, never. It's a shame that it had to go this way.

Damage: car body damage ($3300) which my insurance had to pay for upfront and subsequently sent this bill to Geico to be paid by them.

My husband was helping me get insurance for my car. He called Geico and told me that I qualified. He asked to call Geico the next morning and get the quote, but I specifically said to the clerk on the phone: "Please do not enroll me, nor take money from my account, because the State of California may insure me but if not, I will call you back." The state did not insure me, and the next morning when I went to my bank, Geico had plundered my account, and placed me in grave economic jeopardy. I am a disabled senior, licensed to drive.

When I called Geico, they couldn't have been more disinterested. I reported them to the California insurance watchdog people and they investigated Geico. They said that Geico told them I had given them my Visa number! The CA people believed them and not me. I found out from my husband that they had told him they could not give him a free quote unless he gave them a credit card number, so he did. What they did was illegal, though I did not know my husband had given them my Visa, I still (and I have a witness) told them not to go into my account for any reason. They finally returned the money they had filched from my account but it was devastating because I live on $845 per month, and am in bad economic straits as it is.

It made me ill because people believed I had written bad checks and I had to change my card number, which left me without a card for two weeks. It made me very frustrated and angry that they lied, misrepresented, and scammed me. I got another insurance company but that caused trouble. Geico is still sending me mail and even my bank would not go against Geico. How can I stop their ads to me through the mail?

Please stay away from these scam artists. They will come up with any reason not to pay out your claim. My car was stolen a little over a month ago. When I first reported it, I was told by Nicolas **, my claims adjuster, that I would have to pay for the rental car out of pocket and be reimbursed later, although when I signed up for the policy, I specifically asked about this and was told that the company pays for rentals up front. After I got off the phone with Nicolas, who was very rude by the way, I called Geico's customer service line to verify what Nicolas told me. The customer service representative again told me that in all cases, Geico pays for its rental cars up front. I called Nicolas back to question him and he told me that the policy had recently changed, but that under my policy, I could spend up to $30 per day on a rental and be reimbursed up to $900.

I then went to Enterprise and leased a car, thinking Geico would later reimburse me. Not only has Geico refused to reimburse me, but they are also fighting me so they don't have to pay off my stolen car. Just last week, Nicolas told me that my claim would close on Friday. He also told me to mail him a copy of the bill from Enterprise for the car. Well, today an investigator from Geico called asking me to set up an appointment with him to take an oral statement. I asked him what the problem was, and apparently, Geico refuses to pay my claim until they investigate my claim further.

Mind you, I am a busy law student, who now has no means of transportation, and apparently a car payment of $400 per month for a car that is no longer in my possession. When I asked the investigator if I could give the statement over the phone due to my situation, he refused. I honestly don't have time to play games with Geico, especially considering the fact that I'm the victim in this situation. My car was stolen. Not only has my claims adjuster been insensitive to my situation, but Geico as a whole, has inconvenienced me greatly and made my life a living hell all because my car was stolen.

The rental rates are too high for insurance companies to keep the limit to $25 a day. I can go into Enterprise as a consumer and pay $170 a week, but to get it through Geico, which has a closed contract with Enterprise, I have to pay $29 a day. It is a ripoff. These companies are ripping off consumers and binding them to contracts so they can fleece more money out of us.

I went online to purchase auto insurance because of cheaper rate, when I went thru entereded information to purchase policy, said would receive email to be able to print off card, it won’t be charged until checks. When got email stated I had policy in 2005 for $64.25 and that would have to be paid before another policy could be issued, since wasn’t able to pay amount due to being laid off I was going to do in middle of month when received money. So the policy that I have now that was going to switch from was running out I went to pay but Geico charged my account for $33.30 my premium was to be $42.29 so I called to see what was going on and was told the $33.30 was from a policy in 2009.

I never authorized for that charge nor received any emails, phone calls to say I was going to be charged that when I complained I was on hold switched back and forth for 1hour 25 minutes and told cant receive refund the policy started in 2009. They allowed over site of previous premiums but changed in 2010 but when stated when took $33.30 for other policy why not the $64.25 from 2005 could not get answer everything. They said discreated what previous stated from them but the $33.30 that I was not informed about was to pay my policy that I have now and being unable to going to be lapsed in insurance they won’t refund money. And now I don’t have insurance because I can’t pay premium due to not having money because of their charge.

I entered my information to get policy when I received mail to pay this amount first $64.25 then I can start policy. How did they get they were allowed to charge me $33.30 not one reference about that charge was made to me from calls emails. And if so how did I get policy started in 2009 if owed balance first was stated was in collection didn’t see it then they allowed it but changed in 2010.

They allowed there selves to go ahead and charge the $33.30 but not the $64.25 after you state you cannot afforded to pay that much at moment until middle of month. That if they can’t start policy with quoted $42.29 you want to speak with legal dept. or get number and address they put other people on phone. Well if you pay have now with the premium $42.29 then break up balance pay that way but when state you do not have funds to do that you make that clear they will not refund no money even though they stole.

Yes I say stole because I was never informed about being charged that and when they did its causing me to not being able to pay what I have to so I can keep insurance affective that I have now. I take my son to school every morning and pick him up there is no school bus that runs that he can ride so there action is causing me to have to take him to school in hopes that I don’t wreck or get pulled over. Because my insurance cards are dead at midnight and I don’t have the funds to pay it because of being laid off and won’t get monies until middle of month.

I immediately hung up and went online to get my policy information so that I could provide it to another insurance company (VIN, DL # etc) but all of that is no longer available. I called Gieco and told them that I still was insured for 45 more days and need to see my policy information. Gieco encourages you to go paperless so I do not have printed copies of my policy (only the ID cards). Anyway they said they cannot give me access to my information online because I have the policy set to cancel. This is crazy! I need that information to provide to another company so that I can switch providers. I believe this is why they cut it off. Do not use Gieco! He closed his CA bank account and cancelled his debit card from said bank. August 2010, he decided to obtain car insurance from State Farm and promptly called Geico to cancel his policy as he was now going to be on our policy. He specifically told the Geico agent, Rachel **, that his refund check should be sent to his new address in Indiana and to not electronically refund his money to his debit card since it had been closed for 2 months.

Of course Ms. ** did not follow instructions and sent refund back to his debit card, which was refused by the bank since, again, the account had been closed. It is now Sept. 20 and it has been over a month of constant phone calls to Geico to try to receive his refund from Geico. They have copies of newly acquired vehicle insurance and of the letter from the bank stating the refund was rejected due to the account being closed and still I cannot get his refund back.

While parked, I was carefully taking a bag out of my left rear car door. A female driver on a cellphone did sideswipe and severely hit my car door pushing it into the frame, missing my body about four inches. The repair is over $1000 and the female driver is, like me, a customer of Geico. The police report clearly states that it was not my fault and I have two witnesses who saw the female driver on the cellphone hitting my car door with me standing right in between my half open door and her oncoming car. She did not see me because she was on a cellphone. All other cars could easily drive by because my door did not stick into the street.

Geico first tried to make me responsible for the accident by saying that state law is that if a car door is open I am guilty. After seeing the police report, Geico still tries to make me guilty 55%. This is scandalous and unacceptable. The police clearly stated that I am not guilty but the driver of the oncoming car is guilty because she told them that she had not seen me. I know why she had not seen me, she was on her cellphone looking to the other side of the street.

So I called Geico to explain that I'm Darryl A S. And I'm insured under the name Darryl S., and not Darryl L. S. Also, my record is clean and they have the wrong person. Geico's rep told me to call MVA and get the matter straight. I asked her wasn't that her job and besides, MVA will not give out info like that over the phone to me.

Eventually I had to leave work early one day to try to solve the matter but I didn't make it there on time, so I had to take another day, in the morning, to go. Needless to say, I had to pay to get my record and it was clean and Geico had not taken the time to give them my proper info and ended up with someone else with a name like mine. I had to pay for a driver's record to prove they were wrong, not to mention having to spend two days to deal with the matter. I think companies should have to suffer consequences when they are so negligent and downright too lazy to look further into a matter, especially when someone has been using their services for 15 years!

On that information, a stop payment was issued for that check and a new one was issued. My caseworker and I both were making phone calls trying to get them to understand their mistake (the scan mark is on the back of the first check). They wouldn't listen, didn't care and "didn't understand why we put a stop payment on it if it were a good check.”

One person whom I spoke to said that "they had no intention of reinstating my policy" and "that any money received now would be refused and returned to me.” Refused? This was GEICO’s error and they were refusing to make it right. I also received a letter from K. ** stating that I "dishonored my responsibility" (she was referring my account to collections). I called and asked for her and the operator hemmed and hawed around leading me to believe that maybe that was a fictional name. Randy personally promised me he would get it reinstated. But nothing said about making up for the hardship caused by not having insurance for two and a half weeks. I hope an attorney is reading this. I have been insured with Geico for more than 9 years. Four years ago, I added my then 17-year old son to the policy. He went to college in Massachusetts 3 years ago and took one of the cars with him that was insured with Geico. On July 2, 2010, my son was involved in a serious accident in MA which totaled his car. It was not his fault and the other party was at fault and received multiple charges including a criminal charge. My son's policy with Geico was up for renewal in July. I changed the policy from the totaled car to the newly purchased used car. Geico advised me that since my son was a student in college and the car was garaged in another state for more than 90 days out of the year, they would have to apply a Massachusetts rate on the policy which increased the premium to more than $7,100 a year which is triple the original cost.

This car is owned by me, a Georgia resident. The car is registered in Georgia and my son is a Georgia resident who pays out-of-state fees to attend the University of Massachusetts. I have talked with multiple Geico agents to first understand what they were doing and then to attempt to get it changed. Geico has set 3 different rates within a week, sent multiple ID cards for GA then ID cards for Massachusetts and I've gotten conflicting reasons and quotes of their policies. I asked for the policy in writing but they said it would give away their internal rating information.

I asked about their policy for military that temporarily move out-of-state. I am now transferred to talk only with MA Geico agents. They do not understand why Georgia has done this! I contacted the GA Insurance Commissioner's Office. Apparently this is not illegal. I am appalled that any insurance company would be allowed to apply such a scam legally. I wanted to share this case with other Geico policyholders who may be affected and to caution any others who may consider Geico if you have children who will attend an out-of-state school and need a car.

Unaware of the procedure when you do not have an established account, I called Geico to ask them if I had to have an account in place or I could set up insurance the day I got the car. The agent told me it was best to set it up before to ensure you can drive it off the lot when you get it.

Okay, I thought. When I told him I did not have a VIN for the car because I hadn't picked it out yet, he convinced me that a frequent practice was to put the VIN of my current car (although already insured elsewhere) and put the policy start date on the day I would get the car. So I did so, paid the insurance premium and was told to call in and change the VIN when I got the car and then will be charged the difference in premium amount. It sounded legitimate. Also, he assured me that if I didn't get my car on the day expected, I could easily call up and change my policy start date.

Five days later, I have my new car and have just gotten off the phone with a supervisor at Geico who had to fix the problem of overcharging on my account. Apparently it was not a frequent practice and I was charged every time the policy date was changed for a NY State fee for my old car three times and once for my new car. The policy was cancelled, reinstated, cancelled, reinstated multiple times by agents who did not know what they were doing. And I was charged a fee each time. After an hour of trying to explain this was wrong to an agent, I demanded his supervisor who understood what had happened and told me that I should have never been allowed to take out insurance on the old car being that it was (1) insured by someone else, and (2) was never intended to be insured by me.

To top it all off, the quote I was originally given for my new car was about $100 below what it needed to be to include all the comprehensive coverage required with a lease. Guess he ** me in good. Needless to say, Geico has left me with a bad taste in my mouth from this "first car" experience and has lost my business for good. I will soon be switching to my parents' longtime insurance agent with Allstate. At least with him I won't be talking to 50 different people every time I need something. No good thing comes out of a car accident and for this person to say that a car accident might be good to me is not only unprofessional but insensitive. After a traumatic experience as such, no one should speak to another human being in such a heartless way.

Olga made this statement to me: "If you were driving, how were you able to take a picture?" A professional would never make assumptions about anything. The logical question should have been, "Did you take the picture?" I sent more than one picture to GEICO but Olga refused to assess the accident based on all the evidence I had sent. She even selected a picture that she thought would bolster her argument. That is an incomplete assessment of a situation and how can a logical conclusion be reached? Olga ** asked me to speculate on the reason why a bystander took a picture of the accident.

If this was a real investigation, Olga ** would ask the person who took the photograph and why they took it, not me. Her questioning was accusatory in nature, not investigatory, and she needs to be trained in proper investigative questioning. Olga ** asked me questions that I had already answered in prior conversations with GEICO. If she is representing GEICO, she should have all this information already and this lack of preparation is evidence of GEICO's incompetence. Unless she is trained in proper communication and logical questioning, I am asking GEICO to handle this accident by using other people who will be professional and not expect that a car accident will be a good thing for me or for any other human being.

My claim with GEICO claim department is **. I have a complaint about GEICO's claim department. About a year ago my vehicle was vandalized and GEICO paid me for my damages and property loss. If you look into my claim history, it took GEICO two and a half months to resolve the claim because GEICO was having problem issuing a check since it had a lean. I'm not the responsible party of the lean. The lean is for the previous owner. When GEICO had called the lean comp to get the endorsement on the check, the company refuses to disclose any information since it was under different name. They refused to speak to me since I’m not the person who had taken the loan. I try calling them to resolve the matter that time, but they would never speak to me. But after a year later the lean holder came back to collect their money.

My problem is GEICO put a hold on my bank account for that check they paid out. Why now? Why does GEICO has a hold on my checking account to get the money back? GEICO gave me the check a year ago and it was cashed. This claim was done a year ago and it’s closed. If the lean holder wants their part of the money, they can contact me directly or go after the original owner who had taken out the loan. They still won't speak to me but they want the money from me and will not give me the lean release upon the payment. This is not what I had expected from GEICO after a year of period. Can you please help me and take the hold off of my account? It has been 2 months already.

I couldn't pay my rent because of this. I had deposited my rent money on the middle of May and that’s the time the hold from GEICO hit my bank account. I had to lease a car but I couldn't do that because of this account going in negative balance. I have about $2000.00 in the bank and the check from GEICO was for $6200 for the total of the vehicle and my personal belongings. Now, they want difference that’s due. Can you please help me?

On 5/23, my Escalade caught fire. GEICO took possession and sent it to America's Best Autobody in Vero Beach who outsourced it to Treasure Coast Automotive. On 6/22, GEICO called me and said to pick truck up from America's Best. I paid $629 for repairs they claimed caused the fire and brakes damaged by fire. They said everything was repaired and gave me the keys. I complained the service ride control light was on, and they blamed it on my shocks. I spent the night in Fort Pierce, and when I tried to drive it home on 6/23, it started burning near Fort Drum. GEICO towed it back to America's Best. On 6/24, they said I needed an entire differential.

On 6/28, I paid $646 to Treasure Coast Automotive; and they said everything is repaired, except the left front wheel bearing. (We looked at it on the lift; they said 12-month warranty.) I made an appointment with Goodyear in Brooksville for 6/29 in regards to wheel bearing. On 6/28, my truck started burning at the differential; the ABS, brakes, and service stability system lights were all on as well as the service ride control. Treasure Coast refused to repair and said I need to call GEICO and have it repaired elsewhere.

After 2 hours, GEICO agreed to tow my truck near my home, but their guarantee shop Mike's AutoBody would be closed by the time we arrive. So they towed it to my house. I paid almost $1300 and lost 7 hours of pay, toll, and gas. The tow truck driver said my emergency brakes are gone. They damaged my vehicle and ripped me off. My vehicle is going to catch fire and is sitting in my driveway.

GEICO is giving me the runaround. I want my truck repaired by Cadillac, and for GEICO, America's Best, and Treasure Coast to pay for it because they made 3 attempts to repair and failed. They also robbed me of almost $1300. Goodyear stated I never had brake problems. I believe GEICO and its affiliates damaged my brakes. If brakes were damaged in fire, GEICO is covering all damages due to fire, but yet they billed me for brakes. And now, all my brake lights are on.

I lost 7 hours of pay, starved my kids for 6 hours because we were stranded, and my Escalade is still not fixed. GEICO needs to pay for repairs. They admitted the second time I returned my vehicle to them that they gave it back to me leaking and thought it would last 3 months, and they claim they didn't know it would catch fire. It's leaking from the same spots all 3 times.

I am being harassed by this insurance company, GEICO, which was looking for a policy holder who gave my phone number or once had this number. I have had this phone number for around 2 years. Apparently, some person has not paid their fees. Today is the third or fourth time I have called back to have them remove my phone number from the GEICO database. I have got many calls, and on returning the call to the number listed on my caller ID and then having to look up a real number from the website, I never found a option to speak to someone about this type of complaint. it was all automated, and they also give a fast callback number during their call.

I had to talk to some sales people and hope for the best. They were nice, I admit; and as always, they apologized and assured me they would fix it. I am sure the harassment is meant for a deadbeat, but I still think harassment of any kind is wrong and should be illegal. I also think it's wrong to use an automated system to harass anyone over and over, even if they do owe you money and especially if they don't.

I was on my way home, turning left into my neighborhood. I had my left turn signal on. I had completed 1/2 of my turn when out of nowhere a vehicle slammed into the driver’s side of my car. I was actually on the beginning part of the street I was turning on when he hit me. There was also an independent witness who gave a statement saying that she saw my turn signal. The other driver, of course, says different. The entire driver’s side of my car was crushed in. My husband had to walk to the scene to check on me and get the car (we have only 1 car). I immediately had bad pain in my neck and back. I was taken to the ER by ambulance.

The state trooper who investigated placed the other driver at fault for improper passing and careless driving. The trooper stated no improper action on my part. The other driver is insured with Geico. I'm with State Farm. I reported it to my insurance and Geico the next morning. Days later, there was no contact from Geico's adjuster. Having heard horror stories of dealing with Geico, we retained an attorney two days later.

We had to pay the rental car out of pocket since we didn't want to file with our insurance company. The adjuster finally contacted me the day after we hired the attorney. She just got basic info, like location, our address and damage. She said she would have a local adjuster come out to take pics. That adjuster never called or showed up. I had to go to my primary doctor, who sent me for an MRI. I can't say the results since it's under litigation.

The day after they denied liability, the local adjuster called me and wanted me to take the car to a body shop he wanted so he could take pics. At this point, my attorney filed with my insurance (State Farm) to cover the rental and medical bills. My attorney told me not to deal with Geico, to let them handle it.

I received a letter from the main adjuster that stated they took statements from the witness, pics of the scene and of both vehicles. And they determined that I turned into their policy holder's vehicle. This alone is an ignorant statement because if anyone looked at both cars, they would see the damage didn't correspond with their conclusion. The witness also stated that Geico never contacted her.

The main adjuster, Aligaretta **, boldly lied in her denial letter. Photos of our vehicle were never taken by Geico. Geico never contacted the witness. And they obviously didn't look at the State Trooper's report, which stated the at fault driver was the other person, as well as the diagram. I believe that once they discovered there was an attorney involved, they just decided to deny it right away, and then I became the enemy.

Geico has been an absolute horror to deal with. They boldly lie, boldly make inaccurate and false statements. And if you're not their insured, they treat you like crap. By denying and lying, they've made life terrible for me for the past few weeks. Because of me paying for the car rental, two weeks lost work, and having to pay my insurance companies $500 deductible, I wasn't able to make my mortgage payment this month and probably won’t be able to pay it next month. I also paid the ER copay ($150) and ambulance ($789) out of pocket. Yes, I will get the money back from my insurance company eventually. But that doesn't help me in the meantime.

It is such a clear open and shut case. An independent witness, Trooper's diagram and stating other driver at fault, the damage, and the scene all are very evident. Plus, the driver had prior speeding tickets and one at fault crash with another insurance company. Geico is treating me horribly, I believe, just because I got an attorney involved. To be bold, I think it just pissed them off so I then became the enemy.

This treatment isn't fair or justified. Even though I'm not their customer, they should treat everyone with respect and fairness. You would think that, given all the complaints against Geico, that the government would step in and do something. But then again, the government's never really been there for us, have they? I believe in the end, I will prevail. But how long? And how much money will I lose in the meantime? Plus, now I may have to have surgery and have extensive damage.

I would advise everyone not to support Geico. No matter who you are, at some point, you'll be treated the same as me if you are unfortunate enough to get involved with them. PS: Please don't list my personal info as this is under litigation and investigation. Thank you.

I believe this accident to have happened in 2007 and should be removed from my record as it is older than 3 years. I have also been told that the December 1, 2009 accident was charged to me as "at fault", when I was not. Geico is trying to punish me because I sued them, so they are placing false information on my record costing me higher insurance and spending hours on top of hours trying to get this fixed.

On December 1, 2009, I was rear-ended and a police report to also state the same as well and a settlement letter from Geico that had my insurance policy at the time that I was not at fault. Outcome: I want the systems the insurance companies use to maintain a driver's accident record updated to have both of the accidents removed. If the accident in December 2009 can not be removed, I need to have it corrected to reflect that the accident was not my fault.

There is a police report with a citation for the other driver as well as a witness who saw him ran the red light.

We are being told that we can fight with Allstate to get our money back but that it could take months! It was not our fault! We were told yesterday that Geico was going to go into arbitration for it but that could take weeks as well. I'm not sure how things are supposed to work, but we pay our premiums and have not been in any accidents in over 20 years! My husband has been a mess, and I'm fighting with him all the time. But now, when she called to transfer insurance on the new one, they said her policy would go up an additional $60 per month plus a fee of $275. When asked why, they told her it was due to her age. She is 76, very lucid, no accident record or claims ever. How can they discriminate and legally get away with it? They never gave her a reduction in her payment even though the previous auto had depreciated in value from $1300 to $5000 and they would only have to pay out replacement value and then on top of it all, they ask her for so much additional money when she asks to continue her business with Geico.

It is an economic burden for my mother who is retired and a humiliation and degrading situation to be told they are discriminating because of her age even though she has never made a claim or been remiss in paying Geico for her policy ever. Is it legal for them to discriminate elderly responsible clients? She has a stellar payment record for over 20 years to Geico and this is how they repay her?

Therefore, we have added Stefan to your policy. “The email confirmed I asked for a quote, but also say the policy was changed and driver added immediately. Confused, I called. I said there must be a mistake as I asked for a quote, not to immediately add a new drive to the policy. Geico said it was their policy to immediately change the policy if a consumer asks for a quote for a driver that is less than 21 years old. I have been a loyal GEICO customer since 1996. I have never been in an accident so I have never had a problem with my coverage. Then, this past April, I was sitting at a stop light when I was hit by a drunk driver. My mustang was rear-ended and then side swiped as the drunk driver fled the scene. I had to swerve into a pole to lessen the impact. Thankfully, no one was hurt in my car, or the three other cars hit by the same drunk driver.

My car, however, was not so lucky. Both side mirrors, both rear quarter panels and my rear bumper were damaged. I promptly reported the incident to GEICO. They told me that we would have to wait for the police report to come back before they would know if I have to pay my deductible or not. I have uninsured motorist insurance which waives the deductible if the drunk driver doesn't have insurance.

And the claims rep said that my deductible would be refunded to me if the drunk driver did have insurance because I was not at fault in the accident. So either way, I'm not paying a deductible, right? After a few weeks, I called GEICO and asked if they had the drunk driver's information so I could take my car in to be repaired. They said that they were still waiting for the police report so I'd have to wait more. I was able to obtain the front page of the report from the police myself, but it didn't say anything about the other driver's insurance information.

Two more weeks passed and still no word from GEICO. They refused to pay for a rental so I had been driving my wife to and from work, in my town car--which is not easy on the gas as you can imagine. I spoke with GEICO again and they said to just bring the car in and we would deal with the deductible when we figure it out. So I did what they said. I have not been in an accident before so I didn't know any better. I guess that's what I get for trusting them.

When I finally get the call from the adjuster, she said that my 2001 mustang is totaled. She said it's going to cost $5,000 to fix the car and that's more than it's worth. Or they would give me $3,200 and a salvage title. Now, what am I supposed to do with $3,200 if that's not enough to fix the car and it's not enough to replace it? She explains that it would have been $3,700 but they are charging me the deductible. Even though they still allegedly don"t know the other driver's insurance information.

So what can I do but accept it? I tell the adjuster that I'm going to have to think about it and get back to her. I went to pick the car up today, and they charged me $180 for "storage." That was the last straw. So to recap, I was hit by a drunk driver on April 12th, 2010. It's now June 2nd, 2010. My car is still not fixed. A $3,200 check, supposedly in the mail, to get $5,000 worth of repairs done. I have been driving my wife to and from work in my town car for a month and a half and I'm out $180 for "storage." Thanks, GEICO!

I had told the representative that when I went online and made the change, it said that the payment will be drafted with my next payment due at the end of May and I explained to her the situation that my card was stolen and I was waiting on the replacement card in the mail. I told her that I will make the payment at the end of the month and she stated that it was fine, but that I would have to call and make the payment and not do it online.

During this time, my brother had passed away in the Bahamas and I had to travel for his funeral and was out of town. I got back only to find my policy cancelled and I was unaware because I was out of town, had I not been told that I could pay the end of the month I would have made the payment because I had more than enough funds in my account. I then called the company right away and was told that there was nothing I can do even though I was told that it was fine to make the payment at the end of the month which is not even here yet. I called back and spoke with a supervisor and was told to send a fax showing that I had funds in my account at that time and that my card was replaced. My wife's car was struck by another car. Geico Insurance is the company which covered the other driver. The damage to our car, the intersection requirements, and the damage to the other car clearly indicated my wife was not at fault. Geico ruled no fault and cited the damage indicated my wife had struck their client's vehicle.

However, due to the accident occurring without a police report and a witness, a decision of no fault would be entered. Geico allowed their client to submit her own pictures of the damage. When I asked if this was common, the rep responded that it helped to save time. It took 4 requests for the pictures to be e-mailed to my company. The rep explained on the 4th call that she had received a 'return to sender' notification when she tried to send the pictures to my insurance carrier.

I find it irresponsible and negligent for business to be conducted in this manner. My wife took her car to a repair shop to have pictures taken. She also cooperated with Geico fully with a statement. The other driver failed to call my insurance carrier for several days after the accident. The fact that an individual is allowed to take their own pictures of damage unsupervised is also negligent. Geico has allowed one of its clients to get away with fraud. What is worse, is they are taking part in that fraud.

He came home to visit less than two weeks, but they continued to bill me as if I had two full time drivers living under my roof. They did list him as away at college, but were billing me differently. I realized this recently as I have moved and have new insurance with another company. I cancelled my insurance with GEICO, and they have continued to collect automatic payments electronically from my checking account.

Since I am also a member of PPL, I called them first to learn my options and explain the traffic citation. The citation was received in OH, 84MPH in 65MPH zone. I was informed by PPL to contact Geico and see if my policy premium would increase. The rep from Geico placed me on hold a few times before explaining to me that because of my spotless driving record prior to this citation, my rates would not increase. That was Dec. 2009. I received my renewal policy in the mail this week, and my monthly premium is doubled!

I called Geico to complain. I was told the Geico rep with whom I spoke previously was incorrect. If anything, she should have said 'the premium will not change now, but will probably change when it is time for you to renew your policy.' I pleaded my case, stating my spotless driving record for more than 20 year, my loyalty to Geico for 10+ years, and the erroneous information that was given to me by the Geico rep but known of this mattered. Not only did my premium double, but I was told this rate would be in effect for at 3 years! Arrgghh! However, Geico told me if I were to bank with BOA or add renter's insurance, then perhaps they could lower the rate. This tells me that Geico could make some type of concession but chose not to in my case. I am very unhappy and quite disappointed with Geico. If this is how they treat the customers, then I would not recommend them to others. Mind you, I understand that my premium should increase due to my violation (it was actually 79MPH in 65MPH zone), but double the premium for 3 years is outrageous! It's robbery in my opinion. I am no longer a happy customer to say the least. My insurance premiums will be doubled for the next 3 years.

Upon contacting the police department for a copy of the police report, we found that no request for the report has been made. My son has been unable to obtain a rental car as he is one month shy of turning 25 and he has experienced difficulty in getting to classes and attending work. His vehicle is also sitting in a body shop lot and he may be held liable for storage for his vehicle. The agent has been unprofessional, unhelpful and downright rude.

Multiple complaints have been filed in regards to this matter. Apparently, Geico has had many complaints about it service delivery in spite of its push to deliver the message that it is affordable and consumer focused. In addition, it is likely that Geico will attempt to "total" the vehicle because of its age and there is no way that this will represent replacement value. The salvage value is substantially more than the Kelley Blue book value. My son is 24 years old and independent. He is attending nursing school full time but is working part time in an internship at the hospital. He has been unable to rent a car as he is shy of age 25. That is what I expected. I was told if I took it the Geico Express, it would take less time and they would guarantee the work. I haven't had to deal with an insurance claim, so I assumed the agent knew what they were talking about.

On March 22, 2010, I took my car and they did the estimate. Decided that if we wanted to split the hood, they would fix it or they would waive the deductible. The hood was not the issue. We were told that they would color match the car, my car is red, apparently they can't match a red car. We were told the car would be ready that Thursday. We received a call Thursday that they ordered the wrong fender, so it would be ready by Wednesday the next week. On Wednesday, we were told it would be ready on Friday. On Friday, I received a call from the insurance adjuster telling me the paint wasn't no right and it would be the next week before the car would be ready. She called me on Monday and asked me to come and look at the car. I did and the paint job was horrible. The front panel did not match the rest of the car. I know that the car is older and the paint had faded, but they didn't try to blend it so it wasn't noticeable.

I told them I was not happy and wanted to the car fixed properly. They told me that the back passenger car door was a pre-existing condition. To add insult to injury, I opened the driver's door to leave and the button that controls the side view mirrors was gone. I was in tears. I went in and got a person came out who lead me to believe that he was the manager of the Winner Ford who did the body work and paint work, who I found out was just an employee, told me as a courtesy he would order the part. I told him it wasn't courtesy they lost it. It was there when the car went in for repair. I told them that I would not ever recommend them for any repairs. Tuesday 3/16/10, received an email that Nicolas **, 508- was assigned to case. Thursday 3/18/10, initial appraisal given for $92 to look into engine problem only no authorization to repair was given at that time. Tuesday 3/23/10, Leary Auto determined the car needed a new engine and tried to contact Nicolas **. for a supplement adjustment and authority to repair. No response. Tuesday 3/23/10, Enterprise tried to contact Nick ** and Geico for an extension on the rental. No response.

Wednesday 3/24/10 through Tuesday 3/30/10, Leary Auto tried several times to reach the adjuster for repair authorization. Still no response. Wednesday 3/31/10, Enterprise still had not gotten the extension on the rental and Leary had still not gotten the repair approval. No responses to calls or emails. Thursday 4/1/10, I called Geico directly and spoke with someone in claims. I explained that neither the Auto shop nor Enterprise Rental could reach anyone in regards to my car. The person I spoke with then told me that the original adjuster Nicolas ** was no longer with the company and could not be reached. He apologized for the mistake and put in for an extension on the rental car until 4/8/10 and would contact a new adjuster ASAP.

Monday 4/5/10, spoke with Steve **, 603-,who told me he was the new adjuster from NH, that Geico did not have any local MA adjusters and were short handed. He stated he would try to get down to MA as soon as he could but he was only helping out. Thursday 4/8/10, Steve **, finally was able to finalize the appraisal and approve the work needed on my car. Leary auto immediately ordered the new engine which was to arrive on Tuesday 4/13/10. My rental was supposed to be extended for the full 30 days which ended Tuesday 4/13/10. So now, I would be without a car. I asked to speak with a manager.

Monday 4/12/10, spoke with the manager Robert **, 603, to ask for an extension on my rental beyond the allotted 30 days since it was Geico's error in delaying the repairs on my car. I was told it's not their fault the adjuster quit? The extension was denied. To finish off the disaster on Tuesday 4/13/10, I brought in the rental to return it to Enterprise and I was told the extension from 4/8/10 was never approved. I had to again call Steve ** to have him call for an immediate extension so I could return the rental car.

My car sat at Leary Auto from 3/15/10 to 4/8/10 (25 days) before anyone from Geico could get there and approve the work. Multiple calls and emails from Leary Auto, Enterprise and myself were ignored time and time again. No one ever followed up as they were supposed to, no one returned calls or email as they were supposed to and no one seems to be bothered that this happened to me.

Never have I seen such a lack of professionalism, lack of communication and sheer disregard for customer satisfaction. Considering Geico is new to MA one would assume [Geico] would do everything in [their] power to keep customers happy. Apparently that is not the case. I will not renew my policy nor will I recommend anyone use Geico as an insurance company.

I opened a policy with GEICO for a liability coverage on a truck that is parked. I did this only to be able to file an SR22 with the state of Washington. It was a bit high at 222 per month for the first 4 months. I did to it because I need the SR22 to not have my license suspended. It was a done deal in my mind. Two weeks later, I got an email saying I need to fill out some opt out forms for my state for certain coverages. Again, I do not drive the truck, just need the SR22 filed with the state.

So I go call GEICO to see what they need. They walked me through the forms online that same day and I figured all is done. Nope! My bill goes up by almost 100 dollars. They tell me the increase in the premium is due to the coverage being added for that first month. I was not informed by the rep about the waiver forms I needed to fill out. It was not my responsibility, I am the customer. The supervisor said he will call me back the next day. They did not call.

I was seeking car insurance online and called Geico to follow up on a quote I received. I ended up signing with Gieco but found a much better deal with progressive not 5 minutes later, so I called and cancelled with Geico. I was told that the cancellation would not cost me anything because I did this in such a timely manner and even had them send me an email confirming my cancellation. I then even called back again once I received the email spoke with another customer service representative and was told, "Your policy has been cancelled you will not have the payment taken out".

Today, 2 weeks later, of course they take out the payment and I am steaming mad. I spoke with a supervisor named Rhonda who said she would overnight the refund to us gave me her phone number and extension #. Low and behold, I have been trying to reach her and cannot get through imagine that. Stay tuned--this place is a ripoff. Overdraft fees from our bank, financial loss.

I advised Geico when I first placed the wheels and tires onto my vehicle. I didn't received anything from Geico at that time. Geico (Travelers) my homeowner insurance could only give me five hundred dollars, but I have a five hundred dollar deductible. So I received zero. On 4-6-10, an unknown person(s) broke into my garage and this time took my aftermarket wheels from my 2007 Corvette.

Geico advised me that "yes we knew the aftermarket rims were on your car, but you didn't add it to your policy. So we will not pay for your wheels and tires." They made me fell like a suspect, not a victim. My vehicle is still on bricks in my garage. I'm always current on my insurance. I advised them on two occasion about my wheels and tires. This is how they treat their customers. I am not taking a loss this time. I will see a attorney Monday morning and file a complaint with Maryland Insurance Administration. My original wheels are valued at about $6500, my aftermarket wheels and tires are only $2500. "Come on, Geico"!

Not true! I would never recommend Geico to even my worst enemy. I called to get a quote, they did not qualify me for any coverage because I haven't been at my previous insurance for more than a year?

Wouldn’t they want me to switch? I have no tickets. I have been in one car accident that was not my fault and is on my record as not my fault. They gave my sister who has 1 accident and 1 ticket a quote of $550 for one month! Not a premium. She has had her license for 7 years and mine longer.

I purchased a new Ford on June 19, 2009 and sold my used Buick on the same date to a neighbor. I had paid my car insurance on June 14th. This is my first time purchasing a car on my own since my husband passed away 2 years ago. When I finally purchased my car, the dealer transferred my tags from the Buick to the Ford. I paid all of these fees. The salesman took me to financing where I was asked for my drivers license and insurance card. He told me he needed to call the insurance company. (The insurance company has no record of him calling. ) When I finished he said that I was good to go. He handed me back my license and insurance card and I figured all of the new information was given to the insurance company.

I didn't know my car was not insured until I received a letter from the Department of Motor Vehicles asking me to verify my insurance six months later. I contacted the insurance company to get the information for DMV and found out that the insurance was never cancelled on the Buick or placed on the new Ford, therefore I had insurance on the Buick but not the Ford. I had received the title and registration earlier. I also had received an insurance card from Geico, however, put the card in the glove box of the car and never realized that it had the wrong car listed.

I was fined $941.00 from the Department of Motor Vehicles for not having the car insured and to further put insult to injury, I had paid Geico $421.80 for insurance that was on a car that I no longer owned and they refused to refund the money. When I cancelled my insurance to go with another company, they told me that I still owed $58.74 for one day the Ford was insured.

I called the Insurance Commissioners office who told me that I could not request a hearing, but told me to request Geico backdate the policy and pay the remaining balance for the new car to show that the insurance never lapsed. They then told me to take a letter from Geico to DMV and request that the fines be refunded. Geico said that could do that, Geico had already sent a fax to DMV stating that I was insured. The thing was I was insured, not my car.

My husband was with the same insurance company for his entire life and after he passed I made the mistake of switching to Geico to save some money. I would like for my mistake to be forgiven and a refund of the fines that I incurred or a refund from Geico for the premiums I paid for a car that I didn't own. I hope that you will take a closer look at this policy in regards to what takes place when people transfer tags and or purchase a new vehicle. I could have been better informed by the dealer to how to go about getting insurance on my car.

When I purchased my policy for auto insurance, I discussed with the agent the coverage for car rentals. I explained to them that I rent cars regularly for business and wanted to be sure of the coverage I had with my policy before deciding not to get the loss damage waiver from the car rental company . I explained that I rent cars in most states from airports as well as locally and that I rent trucks and vans on occasion when I need to transport larger items or more stuff then what would fit in a car.

The agents statement to me was that my coverage would transfer to the rental vehicle I rented. I rented a cargo van last month and another car kicked up a board and it struck the side of the van denting it. Ironically, the rental car adjacent indicated that some insurance companies do not cover cargo vans. I told him that I checked with my agent when I purchased the policy and he indicated that it did. The agent that handled the claim from Geico indicated to me that he thought it was covered but needed to talk with a supervisor before he would say it was covered.

After a week of him investigating the claim, he called me and indicated that the car was not actually covered. I then was transferred to a customer service person and was told by them that I would need to have a different policy to get that type of coverage and that she could give me a quote on it. I then told her that I should have been given that quote by the agent that told me I was covered and the only reason I am know faced with this problem was because an employee of Geico misinformed me of my coverage of the policy they sold me when I took it. Her answer to me was, I am sorry but there was nothing she could do about that but could send me a quote on the proper coverage. I am know faced with paying the $1-2K in damages to the rental car out of my pocket, as well as needing to get another auto policy from someone else.

They called back 3 days later saying they would only assume 90% fault and my son would assume 10% because their driver claimed she had stopped and that he should have see her car and stopped. Well, he tried to stop but there just was not enough time or distance. They would not budge so my son decided to settle and that’s when the fun started. They came up with number from their appraiser less 10%.

So he said ok, just wanted his money so he could get another car and end this. Then there was a call from the loss department saying since GEICO was not assuming 100% fault that there was a $300 charge for retention of vehicle and I could sell the car to a salvage yard and get whatever I could get for it. Like I want to deal with. I called my insurance and was told they do not charge if you keep the vehicle and that most do not. So my son ended up getting $566.18 less for just driving good and proper and for some thing that was not his fault 100%. GEICO sucks!

Twenty minutes later, she was on the phone to Geico complaining about bodily harm. My husband took pictures at the time and even she said there was no damage, "Don't worry about it".

I called Geico and told them that this was the reason my husband bumped her car and that there was no damage and my pictures show that and also they sent out an adjuster that took pictures. I honestly can only see a very tiny white spot on the side of her car and our car is dark green. Also, it never bumped her car on the side of the car in the back. GEICO is guilty of discrimination. In November of 2007, a young man chased by an untethered canine, jumped onto disabled policy holders vehicle shattering rear window, and incurring injury. Although both full coverage and a good driving record were in place, GEICO refused to reverse decision of burdening policy holder with increased premiums and personal responsibility to collect damages from dog owner. Small claims pursuance apparently resolved. My burden was typing two letters, notarizing one, for and inept, unthankful and selfish neighbor.

My point being, isn't this a bit frugal for a multi-national corporation with a seemingly endless advertising budget? The policy holder had no control over the dog, or subsequent damage to his property. This is blatant discrimination of the old and disabled, whose limited resources and education mark them as vulnerable prey. Their incessant hard copy, internet, radio and television advertising has become invasive and intolerable. They mislead the consumer into believing their rates are lowest, when in fact many competitive insurers offer the same coverage for less-[All fore mentioned facts documented].

My vehicle was taken to Murphy's body shop through Geico, who at the time I had insurance through, in Dec. of 2007. The Geico representative, Mike R, has an office there on site at the shop. Red flag! My 2006 Kia Sorrento was in a minor accident on the Florida Turnpike and the driver's side front and back were damaged. I contacted Geico and they had my vehicle taken to Murphy's which was their top rated shop that they recommended. Geico rep told me it would take about 10 days for my vehicle to be done. After about two weeks went by, I called them because Geico had provided me with a rental car and I only had a certain amount before they stop paying.

When I called Murphy's, the receptionist had been trying to contact me to tell me that my vehicle was done but she kept getting a message that the line was disconnected. I have had the same cell phone number for over four years and said I never received any calls from their shop. She argued with me so my husband and I went to Murphy's. Come to find out they had the wrong area code on the paperwork. Mike R, the Geico rep, wrote it down incorrectly and before we got to the shop they changed the paperwork to show the correct number. Thinking ahead ,I brought my laptop and pulled up my cell phone records to show that they in fact had not attempted to contact me.

Then they tried to get us to pay for the extra days for having the rental care. We absolutely refused and went round and round with them. They finally reimbursed us for the rental car and we then went outside to get my vehicle which we noticed that Murphy's techs were jumping the battery. I didn't think anything of it because they said it was just from sitting too long on the lot. So off I went to the gas station right next door to the shop and when I went to leave, my car would not even turn over. The battery had been damaged in the accident and Murphy's/Geico did not even look under the hood to have anything fixed under there. So I had it towed to a Kia dealership where I got a new battery.

Six months later, my a/c went out. My car wasn't even two years old! Come to find out, a technician at Murphy's took off my a/c condenser and replaced it with a non-Kia part and it went out. I contacted Geico and Murphy's and they said that they did not do it and that I could not prove it and then proceeded to tell me that I must have done it myself. Ridiculous! I don't know the first thing about cars. That cost me over $700 to replace.

To top it all off, it is now two years after they "fixed" my vehicle and now the headlight is protruding out 1/2" and moves when pushed with my hand, the hood is 1/4" off on that same side, the electrical does not work properly, my inside door frame on the drivers side has been loose and now my drivers side mirror and window do not work. Since Geico stands by their work, they say on the estimate, I had another Geico rep come out to take a look at the shoddy work that was done two years ago and got nothing but a runaround. John, out of the Pensacola area, said that it looked like my vehicle was in another accident and that is why the damage is the way it is. My husband and I were flabbergasted. We could not believe the audacity of these people. They truly are about the bottom line and not the customer, so beware!

Today, February 25, 2010, I am still trying to get that policy cancelled, per the July request. They refused to stop taking money out of my account. I closed the account at Christmas to get it to stop, which was a huge inconvenience.

Now the battle is they owe me over 1/2 year of monthly premiums. The notice in the mail today states, due to lack of payment, the house is only covered until 3/24/10. That's 8 months after it was sold. Geico Insurance - Foremost Insurance is quite the racket. I talked with them again today, and they flatly refused to handle it online or over the phone. They want snail mail for a cancel and they want proof I sold the house, or per Kristen **, I cannot cancel the policy. Who ever heard of such a thing, cannot cancel a homeowners policy unless you sell the house! I did sell it, but I should not have to sell a house to cancel insurance? Kristen ** insisted through out the conversation, that this company will not consider the policy canceled without proof of a sale. I wonder if they treat car policies the same? " Must sell car to cancel"? Stay away from Geico - Foremost Insurance, Grand Rapids Michigan.

Today's phone call was such a joke. First I had Melody, then she transferred me to Violet, then she transferred me to Kristen. They all sounded like students with the manners of many teenagers and the professional tone of potato. Kristen said I could email her, at PIC 4th floor, her department. When I asked her what PIC was an acronym for, she said she did not know. How can you not know the name of the department you work in? What a true indicator of the quality of staff they have. It's no wonder they are not capable of resolving an issue.

The "service" in Geico - Foremost Ins. customer service office is in name only, not action. I have lost the premium for 8 months coverage on a vacant house. I have also had to change checking accounts, toss checks, and all the other issues that arise by changing accounts. Not that anyone cares, but this was my last bit of something I shared with my Mom and had to drop it.

I came to stop and tried to put fire out and called 911. After incident, I called my insurance company from scene and was told that it would be covered under my homeowners policy. On trailer were 4 snowmobiles not owned by me, 2 are damaged and 2 would have to be replaced. After returning home, I called my homeowners and they cover personal property but not anything with engine.

I called Geico back and after numerous calls and being passed to other agents, I have been told too bad, I carry full coverage on vehicle that was pulling trailer. My homeowners policy covered my loss of my personal gear but not damage to snowmobiles. I was told when I put coverage on snowmobiles that Geico only offers liability because they would be covered by homeowners policy and after incident have been told same thing.

I have asked Geico what coverage would cover me in said incident and answer was "I don't know". I feel completely mislead as a consumer. They have told me that it is my fault that I did not call my homeowners policy to see what it covers. After talking with several of their agents and the answer of I don't need that coverage, we don't offer due to covered under another policy, etc. As a consumer, I feel it is insurance agents duties to fully inform and insurance companies need to be more cognoscent of what they tell a consumer. I felt I had coverage to protect me and now have come to realize that's not case. I have damaged trailer which will cost approximately $200 to repair, 2 snowmobiles that need replaced approximately $12k, and 2 snowmobiles that need repaired approximately $2k.

I have complained about this once before. Geico is currently my car insurance company. I was involved in an accident last year where my car and another collided after trying to avoid a 4 car rear end collision. Her driver's side and my passenger side hit each other. As a result of this, Geico automatically found me at fault for the accident and paid for the damages to the other vehicle. I also filed this on my record without any questions or hesitations.

Because of Geico, finding me at fault for something that I am clearly not at fault for, they have almost doubled my premium. I just got a renewal notice and it has gone up again. Also, this is preventing me from getting insurance with another company. I have tried other companies and they all say I'm not eligible for insurance with them because I was found at fault for an accident. I have called numerous attorneys to fight Geico, but have had no luck finding one that does this type of work since I'm not injured.

I desperately need assistance to get this decision overturned. I was trying to avoid a serious accident and trying to prevent injury to myself and others, and all I have gotten from it is grief and high insurance. Not to mention a mark on my record for an at fault accident that wasn't my fault. I can't even get rid of Geico as a result of this either. I was decelerating from the speed limit of 25mph and was covering my break as I approached a cross walk next to a grocery store. The force of the impact pushed the bed of the truck into the rear wall of the cab section located directly behind the drivers seat. I was then taken by ambulance to the local hospital with severe pain from my hips and lower right leg up through my neck and into the back of my head. I have had trouble remembering words and forming complete sentences since the impact.

I thought I would be taken care of, given that I had Geico Auto Insurance and my policy included uninsured motorist coverage. I could not have been more wrong. Geico Insurance has refused to pay any lost wages despite the fact I was in the middle of a signed contract for a job worth more than $18000 as I am a licensed, bonded and insured general contractor. I have been told not to work by four different Doctors and Geico has been provided the documentation from these doctors stating as much. It has now been almost 8 months since the accident.

The ten thousand dollar personal injury protection that my policy provided was absorbed by the ambulance, hospital, MRI's and x-rays within the first few visits. Rather than honor my policy and pay out the full amount avail, so I could continue treatment (separated vertebra in my neck and fracture in my lower leg from when my leg hit the dashboard on impact that refuses to heal). Geico employee Lisa who was handling my claim informed me when I turned down the ridiculous offer only six thousand dollars (while I have at least 11k in documented needed further treatment) that I was "On my own" and that I would have to find a doctor who would be will willing to "Wait" for payment.

I Informed Lisa that I would be contacting an Attorney as I was "done" trying to communicate on my own with them in "good faith". Lisa responded to that by saying "If you call an attorney, they will take 1/3 of your settlement of $6000). Needless to say, I contacted an attorney, have seen yet another doctor who has since sent his assessment of my condition to Geico Auto Insurance. Now, they want me to wait another month and a half to see another doctor that they will choose.

How is it they can deny me when I repeatedly asked them for a doctor to see and yet 3 months later, after I have been forced to take on the debt and seek medical attention. Can they tell me I need to wait another month and a half (not till March 17th, 2010) to see a doctor they want me to see for "Evaluation" 8 months after the accident?

Separated vertebra in neck (doctor recommends cervical and cervical facet injections along with physical therapy). Lasting Fracture in lower right leg. Since June 27th 2009, I have been in a constant state of discomfort with nagging pain. My business has suffered greatly as I am a Licensed general contractor (Olympia Painting Company) and cannot do my job with my injuries. I had just taken out a full page yellow book ad weeks before the accident of which the bill still comes every month. I am on the verge of losing my home and have had no personal vehicle since the accident as I used the money they reimbursed me for my destroyed vehicle to survive for the last 8 months (just in case this very thing happened). I can only pray that the delay in care that Geico is forcing me to endure does not cause more permanent long term damage. I am seriously considering suing Geico insurance for Negligence and have already filed a complaint with the insurance commissioner.

I switched from Progressive with full coverage on my Mercedes 01 with a lien holder. I called to get a new policy with them, and the agent wrote my policy wrong! She only wrote me liability. I did not nor I have never had liability for my Mercedes. I have 11 payments left; car was stolen on January 29. And there's no coverage and no lien holder, and my date of bith and SSN were all wrong!

I know I have a great case and will be pursuing this once I get my nerves back together! Not covered! I added my son's 1997 BMW and told them that the liability was only for this car. Why didn't the agent tell me then that both cars were under liability?! I would surely like an attorney. They made corrections to my SSN and DOB when I called to report the stolen vehicle!

I took my car in for supplemental repair, and my Geico adjuster approved of it and arranged for the loaner. After I took the car to a collision center for repair, my adjuster never went to go look at it, because he was out for surgery. I tried reaching him several times, but his mail box was full for a couple of days. Finally, I got through to his voice mail, and he had a message on there that all his claims were going to be handled by another Geico adjuster named Daniel.

I called and left multiple messages with Daniel, and she did not reply. I kept trying and finally got through to her after 3 days. I provided her with the collision center where the car was and made her aware of the entire situation. She said she will call them.

When I called the collision center to check if she had called, they told me no she had never called. I called her back and spoke to her and informed her why she did not call the collision center. She said she will get in touch with them immediately and ask them to fill out a supplement claim form. At this time, my car had been there from January 12, 2010 through January 21, 2010.

The collision center filled in a supplement repair order, and a new adjuster was assigned who went out to look at the car on January 22, 2010 and never authorized a repair order. I called again to find out why no repair order was authorized and complained with Geico operator over the phone. They said the repair order will be sent first thing in the morning. But no such luck until January 26, 2010.

Finally, the shop got the repair order authorization on January 26, 2010 when the car was first taken in on January 12, 2010. After 14 days of my car sitting at the repair shop, work was authorized. Because of this, I ran out of my 30-day maximum rental policy, and the Geico supervisor made numerous excuses and tried to throw the blame around on the repair facility, all the while not once admitting their own mistakes and irresponsibility.

Also, just to get a hold of a Geico supervisor for adjusters, I had to call numerous times. At this time, I have called the general manager for Geico adjusters 3 times and left messages, but there's no reply. I have decided once my policy ends that I will be moving to another insurance company and never deal with Geico again. I will also let all my family and friends know not to go with Geico, otherwise they will be stuck with no rental car while their car sits in a shop for weeks at a time, so that an adjuster can go out and take a look at it.

On Sunday, November 8, 2009, my car was parked at a self-serve car wash. The car was parked along the vacuums that run north/south. The car driven by Geico's insured Mr. Donnell ** pulled out of the stalls that are constructed east/west. Mr. ** stated to the police officer on a written accident report that there was a severe sun glare on his windshield. Mr. ** hit my open door while I was inside of the car vacuuming it. Mr. ** neither reported or got in contact with his insurance company, Geico, until a theory of liability letter was sent to him. This letter was to let him know that Geico would make a determination in 7 days based on my statement solely if he did not respond. This is the only time Mr. ** decided to call Geico. He then gave a statement that said my door was opened into his car as he passed.

As I stated to Geico's representative over the phone and in writing, this is a car wash and logically, if a car is being vacuumed, your doors would be opened in order to do this. So the theory that the doors were not open already could only work if the car was parked on a public street or even any other type of parking lot, but not a car wash. Geico made a 100% decision against me and I did not understand or believe this to be fair at all. No way should their decision be based solely on their insured's statement and not even take into account the police's written statement of their insured's reason for the accident.

I have since sent some pictures and graphs of the car showing adequate space for a car to be parked and a door to be opened, and still a car can pass and not come even close to the parked car. The pictures go as far as to show a huge snow plow passing the car and still has more than enough space. I am awaiting another decision based on the submission of this new information.

A waste management driver in Gaithersburg, MD (DMV +5 points; no accidents). A routine trip to work. Waste management supervision and other waste management employees were watching when I had this accident. GEICO contact number 1. I filed a claim immediately--details of the accident and waste management witnesses--to GEICO representative Michael I. No problems, July 7, 2004. GEICO contact number 2. With all information gathered, a mutual agreement, a settlement for a replacement, not cash a replacement, was assessed at $2000. No problems, July 23, 2004. GEICO contact number 3. GEICO representative David A., claims examiner, said, "Our investigation reveals that your vehicle pulled from the right hand side of the road into the right front fender, ‘our our’ insured failing to yield the right of way to our insured." A vehicle ran into me and I’m the one insured by GEICO.

First of all, is the party who hit my car a GEICO client too? What does "our our " refer to? All facts were not included in this letter which questions who was a witness for whom? The driver of the red Ford Ranger was not Peggy ** the owner of the vehicle, which questions the status of the real driver of the vehicle. Your investigation does not list the name of the driver. Why? Nor all of the facts.

Fact: this letter, the third contact from GEICO, contradicts the waste management supervisors Terry and Mike and other employees who witnessed the accident. My waste management employer called several times to contact specifically the GEICO representative Michael I. and David A., but got no reply!

GEICO contact number 4. Therefore, I had to go to Fredericksburg, VA from Gaithersburg, MD where I worked. I could not find or locate this person, GEICO representative. Embarrassing enough, there’s no satisfactory replacement, such as, a manager or his boss, let alone resolve or settle the dispute. Waste management supervision continued to pursue. Terry and Mike have called several times GEICO’s Michael I., but got no reply to confirm damages or witnesses to the accident. Maybe GEICO representatives Michael I. and David A. got their wires crossed.

Facts are: 1. A red Ford Ranger in front of witnesses knocked the front bumper of my car. 2. The driver of the red Ford Ranger is going more than 50 mph in a 30-35 mph zone, which is much too fast. 15 mph over the limit is an arrest. 3. The replacement cost is $2000. 4. This vehicle ran into me. I emailed to the Berkshire Hathaway CEO, owner of GEICO, Warren Buffett. Sent to the boss expecting a reply. A driver of a red Ford Ranger (not the owner) ran into my 92 Honda Accord knocking the front bumper off.

I'm glad to know that GEICO treats their (very long term) customers like they are expendable, refusing to renew my policy because I listened to GEICO's request to keep my collector cars insured with GEICO, rather than going with the competitor. Because I bought and sold (too many), my policy will not be renewed even though we are very safe drivers and do not have accidents, etc. If I had gone with the competitor and insured all my collector cars with Haggerty and only kept my daily drivers with GEICO, this would not have been a problem.

As president of the Southwest Antique Car club with over 10,000 members, I'll be sure they are forewarned that no matter how competitive GEICO's prices are, they are in danger of non-renewal without warning, and even with a perfect 13 year driving record. I'll also inform our veteran's organization of how I was treated after being a member for more than 13 years. I tried talking to your customer service reps twice to straighten things out, but my requests were denied.

I was in a front end collision. Damages were in excess of $3500. Once picking my vehicle up, I notice that the majority of the lights on my dash were not working. I was then told that it look like my LED board had slide down, but they could not say that it happened during the accident because they didn't know. Everything was working properly before the accident, now my signals work when they want to on any given day, and they want me to pay $1100 to put in a new LED board. Geico doesn't want to touch it because they do not want to pay any more money out. Geico says it is a lot of other components before you get to the LED board and they are not damages. My vehicle was never checked for internal damage at all. Have anyone else had this problem after having a front end collision.

My daughter was in an auto accident back in Oct 2009 and this claims adjuster called one time and I haven't heard from her since. Multiple calls to her have yielded no reply except for a letter stating she had tried to contact me. They have my cell phone which is also my work phone so it gets answered 99.9% of the time. My daughter isn't hurt so this isn't 'big enough' for an attorney to take but now that my credit is being threatened, without help, I will be forced to see them in court. As a business owner I rely heavily on my good credit. I am now being forced to pay these medical bills myself.

I got a year policy from Geico. My car broke and I replaced it with another car in July 2009. Instead of replacing, they added on another car (sales commission for customer service, of course). I complained, wrote, called, emailed and finally had to pay $106 for an 'additional car' I didn't have!
