I wish I could give a zero. We had someone hit us with state minimums, so I had to report to Geico, but the claims dept is the worst. No call backs after 3 weeks, claims being denied, being treated like I was the one who caused the accident, and pure stress adding to the emotional distress we are already in.

I’ve been a GEICO customer for 10 years and have paid my bill on time every single month, which made this experience even more disappointing. An agent admitted there was a mistake on my previous bill, only for me to be charged over 5x the monthly amount I had agreed to pay the following month. When I called for answers, I was told I had been “informed by mail” — which feels like an incredibly ineffective way to communicate a major billing change in 2026.

To make matters worse, the supervisor I spoke with was extremely rude and condescending while trying to explain what was already a frustrating and delicate situation. After 10 years of loyalty and consistent payments, this level of customer service and lack of accountability feels unacceptable. Very disappointing experience. I was also told that I would receive a call from a manager about the situation, which never happened.

I am dealing with GEICO as a third-party claimant after being involved in an accident caused by a GEICO-insured driver who was found 100% at fault. What should have been a straightforward rental reimbursement claim turned into months of follow-up calls, emails, document submissions, and conflicting explanations. I submitted my rental receipts and was partially reimbursed for the first rental period. I then submitted two additional rental receipts totaling $2,298.71. When I checked the GEICO upload portal later, the files appeared to be gone, so I uploaded them again. After that, I spent weeks trying to get a status update.

During multiple phone calls, I received different explanations from different representatives. I was told that GEICO needed information from my insurance company, that reimbursement approvals were pending, that Massachusetts claims require an additional processing step, that a larger reimbursement amount had been approved, and later that part of my rental period was being denied due to a repair-shop delay.

I independently contacted my insurance company after being told GEICO needed information from them. My insurance company advised that GEICO had never contacted them. I provided rental agreements, receipts, body shop documentation showing when I picked up my vehicle, and repeatedly followed up by phone and email. Several emails received no response.

Eventually, GEICO issued a partial payment, but it still did not match the reimbursement amounts previously discussed with me. I am still seeking reimbursement for the remaining balance and have yet to receive a consistent explanation for why it has not been paid. The representatives I spoke with were generally polite. My issue is with the overall handling of the claim, the lack of communication, the delays, and the constantly changing explanations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend GEICO's claims process to others.

GEICO increased my rate by $120 a month. I tried to figure out what was going on. I was told it was for a speeding ticket. I got a copy of the ticket where they claimed I was going 15mph over, the ticket shows 5mph... This is the 2nd time they randomly increased my rate. So I decided I was done with Geico. When trying to cancel my policy, they stated I owed $102 because their system made a mistake and billed me incorrectly. I paid what they told me to pay. Now when I go leave, they make up a lie to charge me more? Go somewhere else, this isn't worth it. They do not communicate with you, you just check your bill and it's higher.

VETERANS BEWARE OF GEICO!! Today Geico sends a text saying they’re raising my rate from 442.00 a month to 1150.00 per month (coverage for my wife, son and I on two vehicles- one is paid off, one is financed with GM). I called them and they had my 24 year old college student (on dean's list) as driving with a permit which he has not since he was 19. They updated his info and then it went to 1800.00 a month!! I laughed. I then asked if they remove me from the policy as I am a disabled Veteran and don’t drive any longer (I’m the only one in the family that had several fender benders causing the rate to go up).

Get this! The agent says, "Well you will have to surrender your license to the motor vehicle division, then provide proof." He actually said that. Just to entertain his comment (and not surrendering my identification to anyone) I said, "Ok I’ll do it Monday." He stumbled then said, "Well it won’t make a difference in the new rate." Keep in mind my son and wife have never had an accident or moving violation EVER. I do not need to surrender my DL. If they were concerned of me driving and got into an accident. It simply wouldn’t be covered by them. Period!! What a crock. They claim they support vets. Then I told them we definitely would not be renewing our policy. If I did I won’t drive period. (Like I said don’t need to drive at all. Wife can.)

They said I couldn’t do that. I said, "Watch me." They said I would have to surrender my drivers license to DMV and provide them a copy of it. I said, "Maybe with Geico but you’re on notice." I’m shopping this first thing tomorrow and if I have to not drive for a year or so until one of them is over 3 years old so be it. They then said, "Well I let’s see what we can do." Raised all the deductibles and bare minimum coverage treating me like it was Christmas. Said 887.50 a month. I said, "Have a great rest of your day." Any advice here? Obviously going to shop and adjust to whatever. We got a new quote from State Farm for within 50.00 of our policy with Gecko.. I didn’t spell it wrong. Their colors change with the climate..

They suck. I have an older truck. It's a 2013 Titan that I have taken very good care of. It has 240,000 plus miles on it but burns no oil and drives just like it did the day I bought it. I put full coverage on it to make sure if anything happened to it, it would be fixed. I ran into the back of someone going less than 15 miles per hour and I have very little damage. But the air bag blew, which I believe it shouldn't have, they wanted to put my truck down as a total loss. Hell no! The damage to the front is less than $200 but they don't want to replace the air bag!!!! My truck is paid for! I'm not paying $50,000 to $60,000 to replace it! Do not go with GEICO! They suck!! I will fix my truck myself. I'd rather pay $10,000 to fix it than pay for a new one.

Had a horrible experience with Geico today. Jennifer was very rude to me. She got very frustrated explaining my bill to me. My premium went from $3025 for November 2025 renewal to $3991 for May renewal. That is for 6 months for 6 cars. Geico go up on you unexpectedly without explanation. I tried to let her know that she’s rude and she was still raising her voice on me and not acknowledging my feelings. This company is horrible. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. My bill supposed to be just the difference of a new car that I added which is $445 per 6 months add to what I paid 6 months ago which was $3025 plus $445. Mind you, I paid close to $300 up to May 28 for adding a new car and a driver. I was expecting to pay close to $3500 and not $3991. Jennifer has no explanation for me. Instead she was very aggressive. I’m just frustrated and looking to change to a different company.

To my surprise Agent Heather very informed and reluctant to cancel has taken the time to review my policy. Surprisingly over the course of my 32 years an update is to done every 2 years but due to certain regulations the customer is reached out to GEICO and request the above update. Said update is written in fine prints in the Declaration of the policy.

My complaint is for 32 years of being a loyal customer. Not once received the update except on 5/18/26 to cancel the policy. All the perks and discounts were applied. On 5/19/2026 @ approximately 13:54 pm less than 24 hrs I reach out to GEICO. They didn’t honor the same. The offer was no longer available contrary a higher and very costly policy. Was offered no discount. The Agent reinstated the 32yr.

Let's start off overall that I think Geico is a decent insurance company for the military. The problem I have having five different policies with them one classic one RV and three cars. I had my one and only ticket in the last 30 plus years drop off the end of last month. Well the beginning of last month is when my policy renewed for 6 months. So I called in the other day to speak to them about rewriting my policy or adjusting it because now that one speeding ticket is gone and they tell me, "OH sorry, we can't do that till the next renewal date."

This is total bs. That one ticket dropped off is going to lower my rates probably close to 15% maybe 20. I've looked it up. So now I'm probably in the process of looking for a different insurance company because of this. The only other thing I can think of is canceled my policies and have them rewrite them. I shouldn't have to jump through these hoops to get satisfaction with the company I've been with for years and years. Not a very Happy customer. Ronald M ** USMC

While filling my claim, I found out I had no collision coverage. I did have uninsured motorists coverage. Which I thought I had added on top of having collision. Well no collision coverage. GEICO did nothing to help me with my claim on getting my damages repaired on my car. The driver had no license or insurance. Which I had stated from the beginning of all of this mess. They made no phone calls or did absolutely nothing to help me. So on top of spending thousands of dollars of auto insurance, I now have to spend thousands on getting my car repaired. This is the worst auto insurance. And has made this experience worse.

Second, for the next 6 months, I made sure I will pay monthly, and I signed up of monthly payments in advance, which, according to their website, came to about $233 a month. I paid one month, and they send me an email saying now it's $285 for this month and $259 for the remaining 4 months. I called and asked why, they said they had to recalculate it since I have to pay more if I pay monthly, $208 more than initially planned. Scammers. I am looking to switch. Useless company. See less.

I filed a claim with Geico last August and the experience with the adjuster extremely poor. Adjuster never reached out or called. No updates at all. I had to reach out multiple times before getting one short no information response. I finally had to reach out to the repair shop. Their update communication wasn't much better, but they provided timely response once asked.

The vehicle came out of the shop with the same issues. Reached out to adjuster. No response to date. Had to reach out to the shop. They asked me to bring it back in, they would check, adjust, and align. After the second round, the car felt OK, but not completely. I asked again, they claimed issues were addressed. The car didn't feel as loose and the steering didn't continue to turn even after I stopped turning. So my review after that was based on that. But, eventually overtime, the same underside issues returned more pronounced. The very underside damage issues was apparent and more prominent.

Recently, I took my car in for it's regular maintenance and inspection only to learn that the drive shaft is damaged. I haven't had any additional damage or incident, so it has to be that in reality, it wasn't changed as stated, and that's the reason I was and am experiencing the same issues as after the initial underside damage. Geico paid out for that repair but in shafted (no pun intended) The very damage that Geico reported as an accident instead of an unavoidable roadway debris incident and raised my insurance for is not even addressed.

I reached out to Geico on March 20th and 24, 2026. They (manager) promised me a call back that afternoon, a Friday like today, or the following Monday if he want able to get back to me. It's May 8th and yet another Friday, and no response or return call to date. This is the service I've received after 30 years of being with Geico and raised premium after my only major claim in 30 years. I guess they figured if I'm with them 30 years I'm not going anywhere so they can treat me like crap, especially since they reported my unavoidable roadway incident as an at fault accident. They figured I'm trapped with them. I'll pay a higher premium elsewhere than stay with this kind of mess. At this dismissive juncture, I do not recommend Geico. Their commercial promises and actual service doesn't match. It's FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

I called the representative assigned to me 12 times in one day. I texted and emailed her as well. I did not get any response.

After the vehicle was disassembled during the inspection process, I was told that if I wanted my own car put back together, I would have to pay out of pocket. That made absolutely no sense to me and was never properly explained beforehand.

The entire process felt unfair, stressful, and poorly handled. Communication from the adjuster lacked empathy and real solutions. Instead of helping their customer, it felt like they only cared about closing the claim as quickly and cheaply as possible. Insurance is supposed to give you peace of mind during difficult situations, but this experience did the opposite. I would recommend people carefully review their options before choosing Geico, because when you truly need support, you may not get the treatment you expect. Bad bad bad.
