I bought accidental, heart and cancer coverage in 7/2002 via payroll deductions from a Conseco representative at an onsite job presentation with premium refund promised after 20 years via an additional refund rider. After paying for 10 years without fail via payroll deductions and no claims filed, I learned in year ten that premium refund for insures who bought policies at my age would not process until age 75. My mistake was following the sales pitch presented to me by the Conseco rep. This disappointment was not the sole reason for discontinuing this policy. The final straw was how several of my coworkers with the same policy were treated by Conseco when they filed legitimate accidental injury claims for on and off the job injuries each received.

They are using repeated stall tactics wherein each claimant had to suffer through repeated delays, phone calls not being returned by reps or claims department, or repetitive requests for additional info pertaining to their injuries (i.e., doctor’s reports, accident reports, etc.). It has been several months of boundless delays and still there’s no action on either of their claims. One of the two coworkers whom I recommended this policy to has since discontinued her payroll deductions and consequently cancelled her policy. The second coworker is still fighting for some action from Conseco and so far the stall tactics from Conseco continues on his claim.

My husband and I had a life insurance policy with Conseco for 24 years. At the time we were sold the policy, the type of policy was misrepresented. Conseco now wanted over $750.00 to keep our policy in force plus our premiums would more than double. We are retired and can no longer afford to keep the policy. Now we have no life insurance! At our age, we can't find a policy we can afford. There have been other people in the same situation as we are. I think Conseco should have to repay all the premiums for the past 24 years. We and others like us need legal help on this matter.

I certified a letter to CNO Services, LLC. on June 5, 2012, signed receipt required, showing all these things in plenty of time for me to receive the check. My husband and I purchased a disability policy in 1992 since he farmed full-time and we had 3 children. Being proactive, just in case of an accident, we bought from Capital American. In 2004, we were informed that the company was bought out by Conseco companies and an agent would be contacting us to go over the policy we had in place. Their representative came to our house and went over the existing policy and what we could do. We decided to stay with the company and to continue the policy. This is where we were lied to. We asked if this would affect our current policy and was told no, everything would stay in effect.

Little did we know that when the policy matures in September 2012, we won't get the money we have paid for the last 20 years. We'll only get what we paid for the first 12 years as that was the original policy and when they purchased Capital, the policies became obsolete. They started the timeline over when they gave us a new policy number. I believe we have been fraud out of 8 years of payments. I would never again purchase any policy from Conseco.

We took out a cancer policy in 1989 and a few years later, took out an accident policy, 1992. In 2009, an agent brought us the Return of Premium money for the cancer policy and assured us that in 2012, he would be back to bring us the money for the accident policy. We have not heard a peep as of Sept 2012, thus I began calling them. They are now telling me that policy was purchased in 2006, not 1992. Unfortunately for us, we changed banks in 1997 and no longer have access to the previous bank records showing the direct withdraws for this policy in 1992. Calling the company back to get the agent's name was worthless, said 2009 was too long ago. Huh? They want me to prove to them we started this policy 20 years ago, but they can't come up with a name from 3 years ago?

Somebody at that company is receiving commission checks for selling us this policy and has been for 23 years now. Why can't they put us in contact with this person? The salesperson was representing Conseco Insurance, the policy has Capitol American Life Insurance on it, the phone calls are answered by a company called Washington General. Talk about your typical corporate veil. They all use some sort of independent sales force and the last person to try to up-sell us on this insurance is out of Wichita, Kansas, Greg **.

Deceitful policies - My wife purchased a cancer policy through Conseco some years back. The agent did a good job avoiding reality and a great job selling a load of crap. You must read all the fine print! Well I recently was diagnosed with lung cancer, which we may have caught in time. We called Washington National and they were happy to help, "Send us your claims and we will take care of you promptly." We did almost $90,000 in claims, they are paying out a tad over $6,000. Their insurance is not worth the paper it is written on! Beware of Washington National Insurance.

Because my husband is nearing the age where he might die, the company - not wanting to have to pay the $100,000 - has decided to almost quadruple my quarterly payments. This is so unfair! In our later years, we are not making money and are living on Social Security. What can we do?

My sister was sold a policy in 2008. She was also diagnosed with dementia in 2008, and I am sure she did not understand the type of policy she purchased. She had thrown away copies of all documents because she did not know any better. My sister lived about 3 hours from me, so I was not aware of her condition and the debt she had incurred. As her care giver, I decided to keep the policy for various reasons and did not realize it was a Universal Life insurance Policy until I decided to change it from a $100,000.00 policy to a $50,000.00. The premium, as mentioned in other complaints, had doubled since she took the policy. She was paying $384.00 quarterly for the $100,000.00, and I was told it would go up to $577.56 to cut the policy in half. They also wanted an additional $1,150.00 to change the policy. Because she is on a fixed income, I decided to cancel the policy because she could not afford the difference or the additional fee requested. So, Washington kept what face value she had accumulated which was a little over $1,000.00 and told me that was a surrender fee. I did file a complaint with the Insurance Fraud Division in South Carolina and was told, due to the type of policy, I did not have any recourse.

The problem with this company is that they do not explain the type of policy in terms where most people can understand. It is almost like playing the stock market. It is my fault I did not inquire sooner about the policy. However, the only type of policy I ever heard of was more like a term life insurance policy. For example, if you purchase $5,000.00 life insurance for $20.00 a month, then when you reach $5,000.00, it is paid for. All the complaints seem to be the same. No one knew they were paying for a policy that would never be paid up; and when you tried to cash it in, you get the same response. Due to the increase of insurance, there is no money left in your policy. Sorry, that is a stupid answer. It is hard for me to believe that all 81 complaints are pretty much the same, and no one seems to come out top accept for Conseco (Washington). Is there anyone out there that reads these complaints not see how people are getting taken advantage of over and over? I get mad every time I think about her situation and the other 81 people that decided to take insurance with this company.

For years, my premium was $179 per month. As time went on, it kept increasing. It finally increased to over $400 per month and I just couldn't continue. I called so many times to try to understand why this was happening. They kept telling me it was the cost of business. What is that? I would like to participate in a lawsuit. I have had insurance with Conseco for 19 years, and automatic withdrawals for both my wife and I. Two years ago, I got a notice that my policy was in a "grace" period, and I needed to pay $272 or it would lapse; so I did! The next year, I got a notice of the same kind and this time it was for $282; so I paid it! This year I have received a notice for just over $300 or it would lapse. Guess what? I didn't pay it. I was paying $50 and $40 per month for myself and my wife. Suddenly, they stopped and started taking out only $50, so I contacted them and explained the situation.

After that, they changed and began taking only $40 and I called again. The next thing I knew they took $50 out on 4/5, then again on 4/6, 4/7, 4/8, 4/9, 4/10, 4/11. I had to talk to the bank and have them stop paying. Of course, it messed up my ability to do automatic payments again, but they were simply going in and taking my money even after I had spoken with not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 customer service reps. I did recoup $300 as they sent me a check and also the lapse notice if I didn't pay $320.10 roughly! So now, I am in a quandary as to what I need to do. I think this insurance company is very deceiving and not very reputable. I would join any type of class action suit should someone pursue it. Needless to say, I am totally dismayed and upset!

I too received a letter late last year stating that I should anticipate an increase in the cost of insurance but that I would not see an increase in my "premiums" unless I wanted to change them. It was a 12 page letter with many unintelligible charts and after repeated calls I discovered their definition of premium was my definition of automatic bank withdrawal. But I shouldn't worry about changing the amount of my allotment because they would make up the difference in my increase by tapping into my accumulated cash balance. I was also told that rate increases could be expected twice a year. That throws the convenience of an allotment out the window.

So I told them to start sending me a monthly bill. They told me they couldn't because they were unable to tell me what the cost of insurance would be because it constantly changes. I asked why now, after 16 yrs of consistency. They had an answer for everything. Those 16 years of premiums, sorry, payments were front loaded and the overpayment put in escrow for this eventuality with the promise that the premiums would never change for the life of the policy. The reality is that the balance will disappear in less than 4 yrs at which time my costs will have doubled.

Within the next 8 yrs they will have tripled. No adjustments to the policy can be made without losing the cash value. This whole process is a scam to rob us of all our cash balances by carefully "informing us", and at the same time not telling us the truth while at the same time, squeezing us for more money through logarithmically higher rates until you can no longer afford coverage and are too old to get coverage. The only option is to cancel as soon as possible and hope to retrieve your balance and put that towards a different policy.

I believe there is a clause that the premium would not change. I may be wrong, but I will research my policy again.

At the time of this purchase, it was stated that this would be the best for a single parent raising four children. I am still a single parent who depends on her self to maintain her life as her four children are raising their own now. I wonder what is the motive behind all of this. is it greed? Who are the CEO and board members for Conseco?

I purchased a $50,000 life insurance policy from Conseco in 1993 with a monthly premium of $98.43. Now after 18 years of payment (a total of $21,949.89), Conseco is raising its monthly premium to $469.43, which I cannot afford to pay having only my retired social security and small pension. My options are to take the cash surrender of $1,902.65 and let the policy lapse. This is a Ponzi scheme and scam. It is a very well planned Conseco scheme to make a large amount of money by enforcing this scam. I am interested in finding a way to stop Conseco from enforcing it.

I took out a cancer and heart policy; the type that pays you money if you are hospitalized so you have money to pay your bills, etc. in 1985 from Capital American and Conseco bought them out. I paid on these policies through a payroll deduction since 1985 and when I retired in 2009, I called Conseco to inform them of having to set up an automatic deduction from my checking account for these coverages and I thought it was being done, as there was a monthly automatic withdrawal to Conseco on my bank statements. I called over to Conseco about two weeks ago to find out when these policies would mature and when I would be getting back my return of premiums since I had not had a claim or used any proceeds from the policy. I was told that the heart portion had lapsed due to non payment since August 2009. I told them I didn't know how that could be since there was a deduction every month, and they said it was only for cancer coverage.

Last year when my bill came, it was for a 6-month period, not the annual that I always got (and paid). I called and they said they had a system update and had to change back to my anniversary date of June 1. So, I paid the 6-month premium and told them to set me up for annual premium come June 1. I got the bill for June. It was for 6-month period again! I called and they assured me they would fix the problem. Two weeks later, I got bill again and it is for a one year premium, but now it was for $389.00! It is supposed to be $163.50. I called them up again now. They are saying that I have a term policy and the rates changed. I faxed the original Whole Life policy and have heard nothing since. They still can't give me an answer. They are still expecting payment of $389.00. Would it do any good to get a lawyer involved?

First, I will start by saying I signed up with Conseco Insurance on April 9, 2010. My payroll deduction date started on May 1, 2010. Payment mode is monthly, and my Health rates is Individual+child(ren). My plan states that if I get hurt off the job, I will receive $2,000 a month for up to 12 months as long as I am out disabled and could not work. I paid $32.00 a month.

On March 22,2011, I was in a car accident. I went to the emergency room by ambulance, was admitted, x-rayed treated, given medications, and released on March 23, 2011. I took my claims packet to my Doctor and Physical Therapist and they filled out the accidental claim forms and faxed them to Conseco on April 1,2011. And from April 6,2011 up to present, I have been on a non-stop merry-go-round with this company trying to get my benefits. I have spoken to over 10 different individuals including 2 supervisors in regards as to how my case is being handled.

It took them a month to tell me I needed to send in an itemized bill from the Doctor and the Therapist to get paid for the ambulance and physical therapy. They also informed me that I was not current with my payments, which was due to a problem with payroll on my job. So I sent in 2 additional monthly payments that updated my payment until April first. Well, April has come and gone. It is now the middle of May and they are still jerking me around.

The only thing they have paid me is the $150.00 for the ambulance and $240.00 for the 8 sessions of physical therapy. When I called and asked when was I going to start receiving my benefits, they replied that I need to send in a different accidental claim form. I sent in the accidental claim forms that was in my claims packet which was sent to me when I signed up. So now its a different form. I asked them why didn't they send those forms instead of the ones that they sent. So I had them fax the forms to my Physical Therapist's office and had my Doctor fill out the papers again. Now, I'm waiting on them to arrive.

Now, the other thing is my husband and I was in the accident together and he has his own policy with Conseco. He turned in the same paper work and he is going through with no problems. For example, he faxed in his bill from the emergency room then they have processed and sent him a check for $500.00. Well, I faxed in my bill from the emergency room exactly how he did his besides the name and the pharmacy. Then they told me I have to get an itemized bill from the emergency room. I don't understand why everyone I have spoken with, that has filed a claim with Conseco, say they have never had to send in an itemized bill for emergency room. They just sent in the bill. Since then, I have sent in 2 additional payments of $32 each just so that I will be covered up through June 1st.

Every time I send in something that they request, it takes 10 calendar days for them to review it. Once they finish reviewing one thing, they turn around and ask for something else, so that's another 10 calendar days and so on and so forth. Today is May 20,2011 and I've been waiting 2 months to get my monthly benefits. By the time they send me my first check it will be June and I have a feeling that instead of sending $6,000, which will be the amount owed at that time, they will only send $2,000 and I will be going through this whole process again.

I'm at a point where once I'm done with this claim and I'm able to go back to work I will be dropping the policy with Conseco. It's been nothing but stress and headaches to deal with them. It's like they don't care that you can't work when you're depending on your benefits from them, then they jerk you around while your bills and mortgage and everything is piling up. I told them the utilities in my house will soon be cut and I will be homeless soon if I don't make a payment. But do they care? All they say is "I'm sorry to hear that", then they continue to play games. I'm fed up with their nonsense. What can I do about this?

I signed up for 2 health insurance policies (Heart and Cancer plans) since 5/03/2000 by an agent who visited our local elementary school and solicited teachers, staff and school bus drivers. We were told and led to believe that if no claims were filed on these policies, they would be totally reimbursed (no interest) and could be a good way to save for college tuition for our young elementary children. I was assured that the policy was a 10-year plan that would mature and could be reimbursed for college. I would have never signed up for a 20-year plan as I never planned to drive a school bus for 20 years.

I paid all premiums on time and honestly forgot about the plan until the ten-year mark was approaching and I called to inquire about my refund as I have not had any claims on either policy. I was shocked to learn and was informed that there has never been any 10-year policy and that mine is definitely a 20-year policy that will mature in 2021. I feel that I have been misled and this is insurance fraud to deceive people into buying something that has been totally misrepresented for me and my family's needs. I have four daughters that will never be able to use this promised "refund" for college or anything else. They are 27, 23, 21 and 17 years of age. I also was clear with the insurance agent Monica **, Agent no. ** that I only intended to drive a school bus for the years that my daughters were in grade school. My youngest will be a high school senior next year.

I am now planning to retire from after 12 years of service. I do not plan on making payments on this policy for another 10 years until it matures. I am requesting that Conseco do what is fair and return my contributions without interest since I was misrepresented and led to believe that this was something that I could retrieve after 10 years. I have called several times to get answers. I do not want to talk to their Jamaica Call Center. You have to ask for the Carmel, IN office to get information and even then it's a run-around. I am writing to the Virginia Insurance Regulators and the Bureau of Insurance State Corporation Commission as well as the Better Business Bureau. I hope that this can be resolved and that Conseco will work to rectify this unfortunate deception.

Now is the time for me to enjoy my life and instead, I am facing the possibility of having my policy cancelled through no fault of my own. Mr. Juan ** is my agent who lives in San Antonio, Texas, yet I live in Laredo, Texas. The only time that I met him was when he was named my agent. My original agent, Mr. **, had moved from Laredo. Once I did so, I never heard from him again. Is this standard procedure with all of your agents?

I have received several letters from your company regarding aforementioned policy; among them a form, Request to Surrender for Net Cash Value, yet you do not mention what the cash value is. When this policy was changed to the current plan, your agent, Mr. ** had phoned me asking if I was available since he was driving from San Antonio, Texas, specifically to visit with me at the company's request since the policy had to be changed to another plan. Obviously, this was the first fleecing and now you are requesting more money to keep the policy in force. This second fleecing has cost me in excess of $35,000 in premiums.

Considering you or your agent's conduct, I will seek the advice of the State Board of Insurance and/or an attorney to give me some guidance prior to signing any more documents. It is hard to fathom from your report of 2007 where there was in excess of $4,000 in cash value up the present date. Could it be that my age was a factor? I regret that all the correspondence I receive from you does not have a single person's name or a signature. I can only assume these are all form letters where the addressees name is fed into the printer, printed and mailed out. Again, this just proves to me a lack of professionalism on your part. I have had numerous conversations with Gail in regards to other options that are available to me and I have yet to receive a response from her or anyone else for that matter. In closing, I am asking you to consider refunding to me a major portion of the premiums that I have paid out to Conseco Life Insurance over the years, with this and the prior policy.

Now Conseco requests a statment from the doctor on his letterhead giving the type surgery.

I have had a Cancer Policy with Conseco for 10 years now. It is a policy that in which after 20 years, I can cash out or continue the policy. I have left my employer in which payments were taken directly from my check to Conseco. Currently I have been requested to submit my payments quarterly and a request for a cancelled check was done and submitted to have the payments taken by draft. Conseco claims they did not receive my payment, nor have I received a letter indicating that my account was cancelled. It was during my attempt to balance my check book that I noticed the check had not been processed. I attempted to call Conseco to discuss the matter and was told to resubmit the check and complete reinstatement paperwork to continue policy. This was done and the check submitted was cashed by Conseco.
I now receive a letter that my request for reinstatement was denied because my request was beyond the period for consideration, even though they accepted my payment and cashed it. I tried to explain that prior to my contact to Conseco, nothing was received from the company indicating my policy was cancelled. This feels like "Fraud" to me. I know what I submitted and when. This is why I do not like submitting payments through the mail, because then they can say pretty much what they want on its receipt. To this date, I still have not received my first check back through returned mail or anything. I used their envelope when I mailed the payment. I feel so betrayed.

Conseco made an unauthorized withdrawal from our bank account. This was after we sent a check of three hundred plus for a suspension of plan. After we paid for the continuation, they again took out another $178 plus. We spoke to several people who could not explain what it was for. We finally got a hold of Gail ** who passed us on to the specialist because she could not understand why they would do such a thing. Specialist Toni ** agreed with Gail and assured us a refund would be issued to our account within 2 to 5 working days. That was told to us in mid June. We are now in July and we have not yet received our refund. To me, they are not keeping their verbal agreement and with the unauthorized withdrawal, I should call them something else.

Conseco was notified on May 5, 2009 of my father's passing the day before and asked to stop the automatic draft of premiums from his and my mother's bank account. They failed to comply, extracted more funds from their account and now can't seem to get it together and return these funds and unearned premiums to my mother. This once again illustrates the insurance behemoth as the "organized crime". It is and is allowed to be. Conseco owes $1,310.60 to my mother for the drafted funds plus 13 days of unearned premium. For the thousands of dollars in premiums and claims never paid on, I'm sure we'll never see a dime. If a class action suit is ever filed against Conseco, I want to be the first to testify to their overt disregard for their policy holders and intentional design to defraud every way they can.

On Jan. 27, 2009, I called to see if my paperwork had been received and was told by a representative that I must also include a letter stating that I had received the letter from Conseco dated Dec. 19, 2008. When Conseco received my second letter along with the surrender form, they could then process my claim. I mailed this letter on the above date. On Feb. 26, 2009, I again called to inquire about the status of my request. I was told they were looking into it and yes, they confirmed all my paperwork was complete.

On March 9, 2009, I made another call requesting return of my funds. I was given more excuses with "I'm sorry and I understand your frustration." It was also mentioned at this time that there was a 20-day time period in which my funds were to be released to me according to law. On April 13, 2009, I made another call and got the same runaround. I got to talk to the manager, Patrick, again. He assured me he will personally look into the matter and call me back by Wed. the 15th or Thurs. the 16th. He told me that a check had been cut previously but before it was mailed out, someone saw an error in the calculations and now another check had to be prepared.

On April 17, 2009, I have not received a call from Patrick as promised, so I again called and jumped through the hoops with no resolution to the request. I am again told Patrick will call me back today because he is currently on another call. My husband had a policy with the same company, taken out at the same time as mine. We mailed in our surrender forms and the additional letter in the same envelopes. He received his surrender check then end of February/first week of March.

It seems everything I obtained from the medical facilities, doctors, ambulance authority, etc. are not what they will accept. I have contacted these facilities many times and they cannot understand why they will not accept these verifications of diagnosis, hospital stay, ambulance trips, etc.

I have had this policy for about 20 years and expect to receive reimbursement for these expenses. Conseco Health Insurance Company should be investigated by the WV Attorney General's Office. Conseco has caused extreme stress on myself and children by failing to accept the information I have submitted. I believe that Conseco's policy is to cause as much hardship on grieving families in hopes that they will not have to pay out benefits which the family of a cancer patient is entitled to receive.

In July of 2007 I called have my LifeTrend policy rolled over into a 403(b) retirement account through Pension Planners (Sacramento, CA). My agent at Pension Planners submitted the Letter of Acceptance to Conseco Life. They contacted me that I needed to first formally change my name on the policy since I had remarried. I filled out their paperwork and they changed the name. I called and asked about the roll over. Their response was that I needed to fill out and sign another paper, and also have my husband sign and then return the policy. I filled out the paperwork, had my husband sign and sent it and the policy back to them. Approximately 3 months later I contacted my agent at Pension Planners and he informed he he had not received any correspondence or check from Conseco. I informed him that I had their acknowledgment of a change of name of policy holder. He submitted a second letter of acceptance. There was still no response from Conseco. In March of 2008 I was offered early retirement and requested to have my 403(b) from Pension Planners and the life policy from Conseco Life both rolled over into my California State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) account. These additional amounts of monies would increase my retirement benefit for life. The accounts receivable agent, Ron Wilmore, at STRS sent a letter of acceptance to Pension Planners and also one to Conseco (dated 4/21/2008). The money from Pension Planners was received at CalSTRS approximately 2 weeks later. Nothing was received from Conseco. I called Conseco and was told that to end an account they needed to do an audit and that these "final" audits had to be done by hand. I was also told there was only 1 person that did these audits and it would take 3-4 weeks. I called again on 5/52008 and spoke with a man named Jeff. He verified all the paperwork was in order and he would take care of it. Still nothing from Conseco to STRS. I called on 5/20/2008 and again spoke with Jeff. He said he had sent it to Admin. on 5/5/2008 after we had talked. He said he would talk to a supervisor about it and call me back. I did not receive a call back. I called Conseco again on 5/28/2008. There was no Jeff, but I spoke with Danica who said that they needed an absolute designation form from Pension Planners. I told her that the request from Pension Planners was old and this new request was from CalSTRS. She said they did NOT receive a letter of acceptance. I called Ron Wilmore and he submitted a second request dated 5/28/2008. In June I retired and started receiving my retirement pay minus the amount from Conseco. Ron Wilmore said that he could keep the account open for 6 months since they had just received the second copy. In July I started the process of moving from California to Idaho. I called Ron Wilmore to check on the Conseco matter. He called Conseco on July 15, 2008 and then called me. He had been told that they would expedite the request and call him back in 2 days. There was no call back and further calls produced similar responses. On 8/28/2008 Ron Wilmore was able to set up a 3 way telephone conference with me, himself, and a Conseco supervisor named Melanie. I told her my frustrations and what I had been through for a year and Ron explained his efforts in this matter. She said she wanted a copy of his signature designation form AND a new letter of acceptance. She was told that this would be the THIRD letter of acceptance. She said the others were "stale dated" and that was why she needed the new one. Both Ron and I asked her if this was all that was needed and that the request would be honored. She replied yes. Nothing further was heard from Conseco and CalSTRS did not receive a check for my account. I received a package of information with a letter dated 10/7/2008 from Conseco. Monthly expense charges were going up AND upon their further review there was "shortfall" of $6,981.50 in premiums (an amount very close to what I was expecting to roll over into STRS) This policy , I was told had been "paid up" about 5 years before and no payments had been made NOR requested. The premium payments had been automatically withdrawn from my paycheck, pre-taxed. When I was told the policy was paid up (I paid for premiums for 5 years) the withdrawals stopped. The letter stated that I needed to pay that amount ($6,981.50) by January 5, 2009 or the policy would be placed in Nonforfeiture. I completed my move to Idaho. I received a letter from Conseco dated 12/19/2008 to temporarily ignore previous correspondence from them. I had difficulties with my new residence and was not able to call Conseco again until 01/15/2009. The woman I spoke to (did not get the name) pulled up my file after hearing my story of trying to close/end the life policy with Conseco. She told me all I had to do was have CalSTRS submit a letter of acceptance. I had to really "bite my tongue" when she said that. I told her that several had been sent and nothing had been done on the part of Conseco to honor my requests for almost 2 years. She had nothing else to offer, but that she needed a new letter of acceptance. I told her my time was up with CalSTRS on adding to my retirement account and now I just wanted the policy cancelled and the Conseco account closed. She took my new address, but I'm afraid I will never receive anything from Conseco to end this.
