I thought having neighborhood post was a positive thing but when I wanted to teach people how to save money on the high utility bills the Ring staff I guess flagged it and told me it wasn’t what the people wanted so I feel Nipsco and Yelp as well as the mayor of Gary doesn’t care about the residents. All they care about is money and businesses. For the people who care about high utility bills this is for you. Unplug everything not in use. Turn your furnace off once your home is warm enough and turn it back on when you’re cold. Don’t let it run all day and night and when I leave my house for more than 6 hours I turn my fuse box off. No sense in powering an empty house and unplug the deep freezer every night and in 30 days you’ll see a big difference.

I would recommend not buying a Ring doorbell camera. Unless you buy a subscription they are totally useless. My wife bought one and I installed it, First it will not ring your already installed doorbell, you have to buy a ring inside doorbell to here if someone is pushing doorbell. It does ring a bell in the camera that that cannot be heard inside. It does give a alert on your phone to let you know something happened at the door but you can only see what the camera sees and not what just happened. The camera is slow starting that even if you are watching it only shows them leaving. There is no way to view something on history of what just happened without paying. If you have more money than your pockets will hold then buy a ring and then buy all that is needed to make it useful and keep paying every month.

We got 3 Ring devices as a gift about 5 years ago. 2 outdoor cameras (both hard wired) and the doorbell camera (also hardwired). We’ve had problems with all 3, from the lights not working (Ring actually replaced that one after numerous frustrating calls to the service department) to the camera not working on the doorbell device. If these were not gifts we would never use them. Total waste of lucre.

I purchased two extra batteries and charger for my Ring cameras. The batteries do not work in the cameras. They do not click into the cameras so they are useless. I called customer service, who eventually hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. I asked or a supervisor because the representative kept telling me my cameras do not have removable batteries. She was completely oblivious. I then sent an email to customer service, which after 5 days has not been answered. I am stuck with batteries that will not work.

At our previous address, we utilized the RING security system. In early 2017, in the process of moving to a new location, we cancelled our account with RING. We do not have a RING system at our current address. Today (12/12/2025), we received a notice that RING, LLC had charged our credit card in the amount of $49.90. We called RING customer service immediately to address the charge. The first person we spoke to said that we had not "properly cancelled" our account back in 2017 and that RING therefore, periodically could charge our card. This person provided information that RING had charged us in the years 2019 ($30), 2020 ($30), 2021 ($30), 2022 ($39.99), 2023 ($39.99), 2024 ($49.99) which admittedly, we missed when reviewing credit card transactions.

It would seem that the charges to our card were not based on some "improper cancellation", because we were not charged the year after we cancelled, rather RING restarted charges two years after we cancelled. We have not ever received communication from RING regarding an improper cancellation and they admitted they knew we did not have the equipment any longer. They also had our current email on file.

We have now been on the telephone with RING customer service for one hour. Though they refunded today's charge of $49.99, they will not refund the other charges that were made to our card knowing that we no longer had the equipment or service, and without our permission. Subsequently, after contacting the Better Business Bureau, Ring refunded charges from the year prior, but would not refund the rest. Obviously, Ring's "policy" of no refunds can be overridden, but they still refuse to return the other unauthorized charges.

Ring keeps missing major events that are happening and live real time. Or skips over events. I have Zmodo as well in my backyard which can cover part of my driveway which views a portion of my front yard. Oftentimes the zmodo will catch an entire event. Ring will just skip the event completely. Quite frustrating. I think I'm going to ditch ring and put zmodo in my front yard.

I’ve been a Ring customer for years, and their customer service has consistently been disappointing. They continuously tell you that they can't help you if your request doesn't fall under their customer service script. In short, my most recent experience was the worst yet. I placed an order on the Ring website, which processed my payment through Amazon Pay. Amazon Pay charged my credit card and then they canceled the order. When I contacted Amazon Pay, they told me to reach out to Ring. But when I called Ring, they said they couldn’t help because they “couldn’t find the order,” even though the purchase was initiated directly through Ring’s own website.

The refund should have been automatic when the order was canceled, but it wasn’t. Instead, I was sent in circles between Amazon Pay and Ring, with neither side taking responsibility. In the end, I had to dispute the charge with my bank just to get my own money back. This whole situation was incredibly frustrating and left me feeling like my issue would have gone unresolved if I hadn’t taken action myself. Based on my experience, Ring’s customer service needs serious improvement.

I need help. The rating of Ring‘s Customer Service (the call center) with the Tech Team have been lower than average consistently, but the CEO Jamie Siminoff and the Board of Directors cannot care less. My painful experience shows it is the Customer Service and Tech Team that cheated me by saying I needed to wait for 72 hours for them to combine both my doorbell and Floodlight Cam Pro Wired under one email; but after 72 hours, I found that the Tech Team had wiped out my access to the Floodlight Cam.

Since then, my complaint to the CEO was intercepted and rerouted to the Tech Team, who has insisted the Floodlight belongs to another owner, despite the fact that I had given the Customer Service and the CEO my cell phone number, the full street addresses of the Doorbell in my residence and my Floodlight in my rental, and my email for each device. All of such information had been verified multiple times by the Customer Service. Moreover, the English and the logic in Tech Team’s response emails were full of errors making me think the email author needs to take English 101 class. At the same time, the Customer Service insisted that I either gave them the so-called Ring email address which I never had, or I had to power off the Floodlight for 15 days and set up the Floodlight again.

All of the above events were recorded by the Ring Customer Services. I can see the CEO and the executive Elizabeth.Hamren never bothered to read the customer complaints. They just tell their assistants to immediately route the complaints to the Customer Service and the Tech Team, knowing full well that the Customer Service and Tech Team are precisely the problem. The Board of Directors (A. Adam **, Greg **, and Randy **) do not seem to do anything about it while the customer ratings are less than 2.0 out of the best 5 starts in Google Review.

But even I was to power off the Floodlight for 15 days, then try to set it up again, it would be unlikely that I would be able to complete it. After I bought with purchase receipt the Floodlight Cam Pro Wired from Amazon, and my contractor installed it about 15 feet high above the ground, I was surprised that there was no QR code in the brand new box. Only the serial number was printed on the bottom of it. The Customer Service agents cut me off three times in a row, as none of them knew there was a way to set it up with the serial number and a 5-digit code in the regular setup path. In three days, I kept calling, looking for an agent who would give me the code. Eventually, I found one agent who gave me the code. I won’t be so lucky when trying to set it up again.

The following are the chronological events where the CEO can hear the recordings.
    - Fri 08/22/2025

Both doorbell and floodlight were working with different emails and passwords. Before this day, the customer support agents cut me off in a row because they had no answer when I asked for the 5-digit code, and they knew I would never got them again when I called back the same support number. I was also cheated by a supervisor who said and confirmed he would call me back the following day, but he never did. I wasted a whole day expecting his call.

    - Mon 08/25/2025

The Customer Service and the Tech Team cheated me by saying I needed to wait for 72 hours for them to put both devices under the same email.

    - Fri 08/29/2025

I found that the Doorbell email was changed to that of the Floodlight, but I could no longer access the Floodlight now. Instead of admitting their serious mistake, the Customer Service agents suddenly said I must give them my Ring email address, which I never had and never used it for setting up either the Doorbell or the Floodlight. Apparently, this so-called Ring email address was invented by them to create a way out. They could not explain why such a Ring email address was so critical after they had verified all of the information I gave them. They also said that if I could not give them the Ring email address, then I must wait for 15 days for the Floodlight to reset so that I could set it up again. They never answered my question as why my Floodlight access was terminated, whose email never changed since 08/22/2025 the day I set it up and it was working.

    - After Fri 08/29/2025

I filed a complaint and a follow-up message to the Ring CEO Jamie Siminoff, but have never got a response from him. Instead, my messages have always been routed to the Tech Team who was precisely the source of the problem. What was the CEO’s assistant thinking when doing the route? Did he/she first read my messages?

The Tech Team sent me an email repeatedly as below.
    ------------------------------------------
    “Setup attempt blocked.

We recently blocked an attempt to set up your Security Camera, which is currently linked to your Ring account. No further action is needed on your end – we’ve got you covered.

Did you give your Ring device to someone? You’ll first need to remove the device from your Ring account.
    1. Open the Ring App, tap ☰, and choose Devices.
    2. Select the device you wish to remove.
    3. Tap the Device Settings tile then tap General Settings.
    4. Select Remove This Device.

    ---------------------------------------

Does anyone understand the above email? If someone attempted to set up my Floodlight and was blocked, then why I still cannot access the device? Why do I need to do anything? Moreover, my iPhone is unable to do what it says, as the Help screens do not match that of the Ring app on my iPhone. Could anyone point out a path forward, as I am now totally stuck? My Floodlight access was wiped out by the Tech Team, and it looks unlikely that I can get a 5-digit code again to set it up after 15 days.

Not paying you get an alert minutes after someone leaves your porch. When you pay you do get alerts right on time. You can set zones even when not on subscription but they delay it unless you pay. Also when you pay the alerts are very specific. When you don’t pay it just rings nonstop over the wind blowing. There is a very clear difference between a paid account and nonpaid. I have had my Ring camera for a year and a half. It has been OK for about 80% of the time. For the 20% I was bounced back back-and-forth between Ring and my Internet provider. Nothing was ever resolved. Recently, I had someone try to break into my house. There was no alert. Then Ring started alerting to a person at my door when there was no person. The doorbell rang and there was no one pressing the doorbell. This happened multiple times. I called Ring. Each time I spoke to representatives who knew less than I did about their device and their app. At no point should a tech representative know less than the consumer on the other end.

They finally told me to reset my device and when it refused to connect, they told me to buy another one. I took out the battery. I disconnected the wired solar support. I set up the device as a new device and everything worked. This was 12 calls with Ring customer service during one afternoon. I would now recommend them to no one.

Ring is convenient security at its best. All required to access and control an entire Ring Security System is a cell phone. And, the phone doesn't even have to be yours. Ring will confirm without a shadow of a doubt that you are the owner of that phone and thereby the system - by sending you a text code. This security company starts with a flaw in security which is what Ring is all about. If Ring was one hundred percent certain there was not one dishonest person on the face of this planet, it wouldn't be a flaw in security. The convenience of being able to view and control one's home from afar, or for that matter possibly anyone else doing so, is indeed convenient. Ring devices integrate easily with Alexa and Amazon makes it almost instantaneous to do so. It's a user friendly system regardless of who is using it.

Ring should not be used as a stand alone security system, even with paid professional monitoring. If one has something worthwhile to be protecting then a more well rounded and secure security company/system should be in place along with Ring. Either that or skip Ring altogether and go right for the more well rounded and secure system. Depends on what your while is worth.

Well, my only option that would activate my existing mechanical chime is the Ring Wired Pro. I purchased directly from Ring website which had a banner across the home page that said they would include free professional installation on certain devices. On the product page, in big red letters, they stated I would receive a promo code after checkout which could be redeemed with their recommended installer for a free installation. I checked out and never received a promo code. I received the doorbell, still no promo code. I contacted customer service and was told they were out of promo codes, but to keep calling them back because they were working to get more. I spoke to two other representatives, and I was eventually told they would email me a code as soon as they received more.

Four weeks later, still no promo code. No further response from Ring customer service, and I cannot get past their AI chat bot now which just says they are not aware of any installation offers. Ultimately, I decided to install it myself even though that meant drilling holes into my brick wall which took 4.5 hours to do, burned through two masonry bits, and permanently damaged my personal drill in the process. And to top it off, now I have to pay a subscription fee to use the stupid camera features that were the whole motivation for buying it.

⚠️ WARNING: RING Doorbells Have a Major Security Problem. I’m sharing this because I think everyone needs to know: Ring doorbells have a serious security flaw. If someone nearby picks up your Ring device’s Wi-Fi signal and connects it to a regular 2.4GHz network, they can watch your live camera feed. How do I know? Because I can see my neighbor’s live camera feed. Yes, right now. This isn’t just a guess—it’s actually happening. I reported this to Ring’s security team right away and asked for a replacement device. That was over 40 days ago, and I’ve been stuck in a nightmare of delays, repeat calls, and broken promises ever since.

At first, they agreed to replace it—but sent me a refurbished unit instead. I had to call multiple times to explain that I bought a new device and should get a new replacement. They finally agreed—but then sent me another “certified refurbished” device. I’ve been calling Ring again and again. Each call takes 60 to 90 minutes, always during my work hours. Every time, I’m asked to send the same photos. Every time, I have to tell my whole story again to a new agent. And now? They’ve put me on a two-week waitlist for a new device and told me to call them back after that. This isn’t just frustrating—it’s exhausting. And it’s dangerous. Ring sells security, but they can’t even protect your privacy—or follow through when something goes wrong.

I’m posting this not just because I’m angry, but to warn others. If you own a Ring device, be careful. You may be sharing your front door view with strangers without knowing it. I’ve attached all the photos—again—because I know Ring will probably ask for them. Again. To Ring: This is a serious problem, and your response has been terrible. Fix it.

I've had a Ring doorbell and floodlight on the garage for a few years. Happy with their performance. I am dissatisfied with their new plan changes, which will automatically upgrade you to a professional plan at twice the price ($100 per year to $200 per year) upon automatic renewal. You must physically cancel this upgrade to stay at $100 per year, and your services will be immediately downgraded. If you cancel this automatic upgrade, they won't honor your previous plan (that has upgrades, which are now only found in their new pricing) and immediately downgrade you, even though your last plan hasn't expired yet.

Then they threaten that you can never upgrade to professional monitoring if you cancel. The way they rolled this out was rude and bullying, in my opinion. They have the attitude that, "You have our equipment installed at your home, so we (Ring Management) doubt you will spend the money to reinstall other companies' equipment, so you have to swallow our doubling the price or reduction of services."

Ring.com Customer Support Review - Disappointing Experience. I typically don’t write reviews, but my recent experience with Ring’s customer support was frustrating enough that I felt it needed to be shared. I’ve been a loyal customer for a while, but I’m seriously reconsidering continuing with them after this ordeal. It all started with an online order I placed. Ring was advertising a bundle with expedited shipping, promising a fast delivery. I placed the order, only to find that when the package arrived, only part of it was included. I thought maybe it was just a mix-up, so I contacted customer support through their chat feature to get clarification on where the rest of my order was.

Attempt 1: My first chat session ended abruptly when the agent disconnected mid-conversation. No warning, no explanation, just a sudden end to the chat. It was beyond frustrating because I had already waited in the chat queue for a while. Attempt 2: I tried again, explaining the situation and asking about the missing items. This time, I was informed that the remaining part of my order was on backorder, and it could take up to two weeks to ship. This was after I had already paid for expedited shipping, expecting a quick delivery. What made this even worse was that the website still showed the product as available, with expedited shipping options and an ETA of just a few days. I questioned why it was still being sold as in-stock and why I wasn’t told about the backorder at checkout, but the agent couldn’t provide a clear answer. I was left with the distinct feeling of being misled.

In the end, I was given no real resolution except a vague timeline for the backordered items. The support agents seemed to be reading from a script and weren’t able to offer any helpful solutions. I really expected better from a company that’s supposed to be on the cutting edge of home security and technology. Overall, I’m disappointed by the lack of transparency and the poor customer service I received. I shouldn’t have to deal with disconnections and conflicting information, especially when it comes to an order I paid good money for. I hope Ring takes this feedback seriously and improves both their customer support and their online order accuracy. Until then, I’m hesitant to continue doing business with them.

So when I need it most I do not have it. Perhaps they should figure out how to make a system that does not fail or one that if it fails when needed the most can be fixed remotely. No use getting frustrated with the help desk. They did not design the system. There are no photos because the system is offline. And I am out of town. My husband started a chat with a Ring representative, but they couldn’t help him and gave him their customer service phone number. Not thinking anything about it, he dialed the number, but it turns out it was an international phone number in England. He was on the call for 27 minutes. Shortly after we got a notice on our phone that we incurred international charges. That’s when he realized that they gave him a phone number that wasn’t even in the United States.

I chatted with someone at Ring about this issue, and they said “well he should’ve known it was a foreign number.“ I said, indeed he should have, but in the moment he was assuming that the number was toll-free since we are in the United States. She then said that he was chatting with the people in the UK. I am completely lost at this point. Why would he be on a chat with the ring team in the UK when we are in the United States? Basically, they were of zero help. I told them that we are being charged $55.72 for that call. They plan to do nothing about it. I could’ve bought a brand new unit for less than that. Come to find out when the trial expired I lost all my settings and started getting excessive notifications. I even checked my settings and they were still intact (minimal notifications, low motion sensitivity) yet I got excessive notifications. I contacted support and they informed me that I need a pro plan ($99 US per year) which I was actually about to agree to, but the fact that my settings all got zeroed out made me just want to return the whole lot of cameras, which I did.

I felt like the push and drive for subscription service was too aggressive. I don't have a problem with the price, because that covers "unlimited" devices, as I said, I was about to pay it. I have a problem with having my settings inexplicably defaulted if you don't pay up within the trial space. The attached pictures show my settings, which are still intact, and then all the notifications I still get regardless of the settings. No plan, ignore settings.

We have used Ring devices for several years. Overall, we have been pleased with Ring products. When we moved to our new home a couple of years ago, we transitioned our old Ring devices to the new homeowners and got new ones for our new home. Our daughter was the only one home when the electrician could come to install them so she got them set up. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that meant they are all tied to her account now and she doesn't live here. I have them in my app and didn't think it was an issue until I received an email saying my devices were inactive and they wouldn't renew my subscription. When I talked to technical support, they were terrible. Couldn't understand my question, their responses were difficult to understand, and the only option was for me to cancel my subscription and start all over... At least that's what I think they suggested.

When I asked if they could just move the devices from my daughter to me, they said they didn't have the resources to do that. Then asked if they could help with anything else. So... I am left to figure this out on my own. And I have no idea what to do and if I will lose my subscription in a couple of months even though I wanted to keep it!

I'm really not happy with the Ring app. It lags over wireless even though I have great wireless connectivity. Also the motion zones are horrible. My doorbells are tilted down at the suggestion of Ring, and I've moved the zone nodes all the way up to my house and I still get notified when cars drive by. It's a good 20 ft from the ring doorbell to the street. Ring can't seem to get it right so that the cameras know the difference between a car, a cat, a bug, and a human. Really disappointing! This uses the battery life and wears the batteries out faster. I may switch companies but I'm kind of invested in ring because I have the alarm and multiple cameras and sensors.

If that process wasn't enough of a problem even that does not work. So, after about 30 min of fighting this log in process I've decided to let my subscription expire in a month and move onto a system that works.

I put up decorations for Christmas and just had some lady steal one of the decorations off of my yard and tried to post asking if anyone knows this lady, and they denied my post again. All they allow is missing animals. Who is approving these things? I'm literally having illegal acts of theft happening and I can't even use its features of security. In fact, at 15 feet away from a GREAT router with PERFECT signal, your cameras will barely work. I had to purchase extra Chimes and WiFi devices for EVERY camera so they could all be super close to a signal. Now at least 1 camera is malfunctioning but Ring won't do anything about it. They say that it must be MY WiFi. But I tested my WiFi and the signal is great. Every other device says the signal is great. But my camera that is literally on the SAME WALL as my home WiFi router still has a bad signal and Ring won't do anything about it. The rep told me they would change me back to the monthly and "refund" the balance. I asked for that to be corrected, and all of the sudden, that would take 3 days blah blah. The whole thing was very untrustworthy so I decided to cancel the entire subscription and avoid further complications, and requested the whole amount to be refunded.

2 - The keypads are wireless, and Powered by rechargeable batteries. Documentation says these units will last six months between recharging. When it's time to recharge them, they slide out of their wall holder easily. Then can be placed back in their holders after charging. It is possible to hardwire the keypads to their power supplies. The keypads can conserve power by only activating their LEDs when you approach them. One can add multiple keypads to the system. I have installed three of them.

3 - Small, battery powered (coin cell) devices with great wireless range talking back to the base.

4 - Motion detectors work very well using coin cell batteries. They are wireless.

5 - Interfaces to Alexa like a dream. I have Alexa announce when doors are opened or closed. Alexa even turns on my kitchen lights when I come in the back door.

6 - Easy to install this system using the app. Easy to add more devices for expansion.

7 - My home is three stories. Before the installation, I worried that someone could break into the basement and enter the house while I was asleep. Not anymore. I have door sensors on all the doors and a motion detector to secure the area. I also installed a keypad that allows me to set my alarm in the garage, get my car out, and close the garage door during the exit delay. During entry delay, I'm able to get the garage door open and unset the alarm.

In conclusion... I am so impressed with this system. I can't say enough good things about this system. It's versatile, and interfaces with Alexa like a dream. I have been looking for such a system for a long time. I'm glad I didn't buy another product.

I purchased my doorbell on the 5th March, knowing that there was a subscription price rise coming on 11th March. Once my camera arrived and was installed, I purchased the subscription at £34.99 for the year. All Ring doorbells come with a free trial, which you cannot opt out of, however the wording (that, as of writing, is still there) on the website states that as long as you sign up before the price hike, the original price will be honoured but you won’t actually be billed until after the end of the free trial period.

The original price has not been honoured, and I have been charged the new rate. When I have contacted Ring support I’ve been told “we can’t refund, this is how our system works, we won’t refund you, there is no further escalation point”. I have genuinely never received such poor customer service, and I am astonished that a company that is part of Amazon is allowed to behave this way. I have never had anything but positive interactions from the Amazon customer service team, which makes this experience all the more disappointing.

Ring technology is great, I love the hardware and I love the system integration with the Neighbors app, except, Ring apparently has children monitoring the site and they freely delete any post that they deem as "offensive", example, describing a suspect is "offensive". Last week they spiked another of my posts when I caught a guy climbing my fence. The Ring CHILD hiding behind a no-reply email informed me that "just looking over the fence is not a crime." Can you believe this? Everyone is at work and the only thing stopping this guy from entering my home is a large, loud dog. The Ring CHILDREN take great delight in spiking anything that doesn't fit their love-every-criminal sweet talk dialect. They are going to get someone killed one day with their politically correct nonsense.

My late husband and I have had a Ring Home Security System for many years, and we were very happy with our decision. My husband set up the account with me as a co-user. Unfortunately he died suddenly in August 2022. As a widow, figuring out various accounts has been a challenge, but none - not even bank accounts - has been as horrible as Ring. Issue started several months ago when my control panel was showing signs of battery failure. The customer service rep could not have been less helpful. Called a second time, hoping to get a different person, but second person was no help. Finally, my keypad failed to work (plugging it in via USB never helped) and I called a third time. I am now installing a new system.

What's the issue? Apparently they have no way to allow me to become the account holder of record, so that I can get assistance on the system. No way. I offered to send a copy of his death certificate, my name on on his will as his survivor and copy of my ID. Not good enough. Everyone I spoke with at Ring said the same thing: Only the account holder, using their email, can get total service or change/cancelation of the account. My reply? "How in God's name do you expect my cremated husband to send this to you?!" The response? "I'm sorry. Nothing I can do.". I am switching to another sevice and will notify Ring on Monday. I'm anticipating a fight from them. News at 11. DO NOT USE RING.

I have had 1 Ring camera for a few years now. We have Basic service. The image and sound quality is so-so. The features are minimal and have not changed since I subscribed years ago. Took a long time to get it dialed in the way it was most useful for us. Today I get notice my bill is going up 25%. My service did not get 25% better, no features were added, the customer service rep I contacted could not provide a reason for the increase. Everything is automated, no labor costs involved. Basically no reason for price increase other than they can. When confronted with these facts, the customer service rep abruptly disconnected and ended our conversation.

This is the trend nowadays, bend over and take it because they can. Add to that the terrible customer service and restricting the authority to make decisions to retain customers. Well Ring, you are not the only game in town and I have choices. I will be exploring those choices and may just toss your old tech in the garbage.

Customer service is terrible, and what is even worse, is if you buy a house with existing Ring equipment or sell your house with Ring equipment. Unlike other security equipment, each time you buy/sell a house with Ring equipment, you have to do a completely new install/setup which includes a 15-day waiting period for the prior owner to relinquish the equipment. Customer is terrible and unwilling to help. I've called four times and get a different story and a lack of willingness to help. Do not recommend unless you plan to take your equipment with you.

Soooo.... my brother, sister and I decided to get a home security system for our 91yr old mother. Although she lives in a safe neighborhood you have to ask yourself "is there such thing as "safe" these days"? So, we decided on the Ring Pro system. After spending well over 1K for the Ring pro system, extra accessories and installation I quickly found out within a 2-month time frame it wasn't worth it. The first month everything was fine. The second month I found myself crawling up on a ladder and resetting each camera.

After 3 months I noticed the lights filling up with water. (Both cameras were installed "under" easements). After 4 months both cameras with lights were completely filled with water. (Not the camera but the floodlights.) After once again going up on a ladder I closely examined the lights to see if I could somehow get the water out, but, there was no way. After 4 months one of the camera flood lights failed never to come back on. So basically both Ring Pro camera systems failed due to water.

Basically, the only thing that actually worked correctly was the doorbell cam. Are You Kidding Me??? I should have read "these reviews" before I went this route, "my bad". I could have called Ring and got them replaced but what's the point, they would have sent the same junk that we would have had to pay for the electrician to install all over again. No Point in That!! At month 6 we decided to go with a US-based company (CPI) and install their product. I didn't really want to do a contract BUT so far everything works great. No problems at all and if you do have problems at least you'll talk to an ** and not an overseas-based call center. Oh, and those Ring cams w/ lights that were taken down, straight to the trash bin, what a shame. I regret buying anything from Ring and will never do it again, Lesson Learned!!! Those people should be ashamed for selling such a Cheap product, what a scam!!!

At first, I was elated with the battery powered camera system. Yet, if you live in a high traffic area I would strongly recommend you purchase the hardwired system. The recharging of the batteries is a frequent thing in high traffic areas. I like the Neighborhood feature of the system which use to allow you to keep track in your area. However, lately this company is placing more emphasis on lost animals than human safety. On New Year's Eve a neighbor came outside firing several rounds in the air from an automatic weapon. He did this on two separate occasions. I wrote a note for the neighborhood feature for people to be careful driving thru the area. They denied the post. I know of two incidents where people were injured by bullets fired into the air. Their Neighborhood feature is loaded with posts about lost pets. So now I am looking into a hardwired system.

I called Ring and they stated that they canceled it over to the new camera and both the front and back camera would be covered until January.

I get notice today that the backyard camera has expired and has no protection. I contacted Ring and they said they don't transfer Protection Plans and that I should have canceled the old Plan and they would credit my card back and issue a new Protection Plan for both cameras. "Cris" stated that they don't transfer. So basically the first person I spoke to lied to me. Shorting out in the first year and being lied to is not good business practice. I wonder why companies today even bother to have an option for English when you always get a foreign person on the phone who barely can speak the language. Let me guess, it's cost-effective to hire non-English speaking people to service their English-speaking customers. Well, I have a problem with this because it's just as frustrating as dealing with the automated system which by the way speaks proper English. My recent experience with Ring was so frustrating because the representative screwed up the entire purpose of my call.

When I canceled the subscription they gave a refund credit to an old credit card that was closed and no longer on file. I told the rep this and he assured me that it would be credited to the new card on file. Well, I received an email telling me otherwise. When I called them back to bring this to their attention, I was told that I would have to take that up with the bank that issued the credit card. This rep didn't own up to their mistake or even bother to correct the error. Whatever happened to the customer service that used to represent the companies? My bad, I guess this is the new norm and it really sucks.

My husband is a contractor and bought this kit for his work trailer which is left on jobsites. Box is very misleading in stating 24 professional monitoring. We found this out when our trailer was robbed blind last night. Alarm kit was set to armed. Took 2 hours to even send us a notification that the motion detector sensed something (thing goes off all the time in error anyway). When husband finally received this notification he check the cams and found the system offline after the guys robbed us then ripped the camera off the wall. He saw the video and manually activated the alarm. Throughout the robbery our “siren” never activated.

Our property was long gone before we received any type of notification. We called Ring today and were notified that in order for our “alarm” to “alarm” you have to purchase additional special sensors to actually activate an alarm. They had no worries about the fact that this product failed us horribly. Apparently the monthly fee we are paying is just for cloud space. A trail cam would be cheaper and probably function better.

When I called support, they said, in order to stop payment I need to do it on the website. Changing in the app is not sufficient. I asked for refund of the fees paid since I changed from professionally monitored to self on the app. They denied my request, saying they sent me an email about this. I never received any such email. At least I don't remember seeing such email and I don't find in my inbox now either (I could have deleted the email). After 4yrs with Ring I'm so frustrated by the downward-spiral of their service that I'm looking elsewhere. The Ring cameras and features are good and that's what initially attracts you to the product - BUT if you need to actually "view your recordings and download them" then Ring is a horrible/useless system. Their Customer Service is very polite but not helpful - they are trained only to deal with camera issues and setup. They cannot, or will not, help with Website, cloud and download issues. Technology, computers and internet are consistently getting better and faster each year, but the RING CLOUD, WEBSERVER and User Apps actually get worse, they drop features, and become more unusable each year.

I primarily use the Floodcam. It's really easy to install and set up. I loved the features, especially the wide FOV and the ability to set custom zones in that FOV to monitor important areas while excluding areas of high traffic (like the street) that you don't care to monitor. BUT this great feature is no good when you can't easily access your recordings or view them on a large screen (like your laptop computer) to see the detail in these wide FOV recordings. Also downloading from their cloud/website is THE MOST PAINFUL and buggy system I've ever experienced. Initially Ring provided a simple app that ran on a MAC or PC which was useful, but instead of keeping a good thing and making it better, they discontinued it! With time Ring other services just keep getting worse, not better.

Bottom line is if you ONLY care about LIVEVIEW (monitoring in real time) and do not need to store your recordings or view them later - then RING is a good camera for you. BUT if you need the ability to download and view your files later (for example: view an entire day's activity at the end of the day, or download recordings as evidence for law enforcement to identify criminals who broke into your house) then Ring is a HORRIBLE system to have and I suggest you look elsewhere.

Their cloud and webserver is frustrating, buggy and VERY slow. The feature to download multiple files at a time (ZIP file) has never worked correctly and any fix they try to make just creates NEW bugs and removes previous capabilities. They now actually drop/truncate your recordings within the ZIP file they create (yes, they actually loose/drop your data when you want to download multiple files at a time). Often the multi-file download just breaks/fails and you have to try multiple times to get it - so if you have a lot of recordings your want to review at the end of the day you may end up sitting at your computer downloading files "one-by-one" for many HOURS - it's insane. And no matter how good your internet is or how new/fast your routers are, sadly Ring Customer Service will insist the problem is YOU not them so you get no help from Ring on these issues. Just to satisfy them I purchased a new 5G router (even though my former 5G worked great!) and paid my internet provider to come out multiple times to test and prove my internet is fast >300Mbs - and Ring still won't address it as their issue.

Ring is actually a great product if you're a customer who 1) only monitors/views in realtime (LiveView), 2) only use a mobile phone and have no need to view recordings on a larger screen, 3) don't ever need to download or save recordings or you are okay spending many many hours a day slowing playing back or downloading your recordings to see what happened a few hours or days or month earlier. RING simply isn't a real "home security system", but it's really fun and helpful when you're already at home but want to see who's at your front door before you decide to answer it.

I have several Ring cameras that I installed to monitor my visitation. While the sound and quality of the videos was okay, the real value to me was recording: It was important that I could preserve recordings so I subscribed to Ring Pro that would let you save unlimited videos (which are all very, very short--another problem). They offer short term storage and tell you that you can download the videos. But the download feature never worked and I could not save them unless I did so one at a time. And support was nonexistent. So I quickly became disillusioned.

I also had problems connecting one of the cameras and with a missing cord, and dealing with their support was like pulling teeth. I actually told them I would pack up and return the cameras and pulled the boxes but tried them one last time and they were able to resolve the issue (the replacement cord took about two weeks to arrive and I live in a very accessible area with lots of Amazon trucks around).

Then, after about a year, when I no longer needed the useless recording saving, I unsubscribed and used the cameras just to check in on the dog or to let me know if anyone entered the house. I set it to Away (armed) but not long after, Ring locked me out of the app and told me that if I wanted to change any settings, I had to subscribe to a plan. Screw that, subscribe for crappy service and support? Nope. So I had to delete the app on my phone and now I will sell the cameras on the aftermarket to the next fool willing to give Bezos more money. I am done.
