Bought the snap together flooring from retailer and they installed it. After 6 years the ends are popping up and they are a trip hazard. When we purchased this flooring we were concerned about this happening but were assured there was no problem. We submitted a complaint to the retailer and they contacted Mohawk and they sent a third party inspector out to inspect it. The inspector said it was installed properly and that there was no reason for this to happen. There has been other complaints of the same thing happening. The company "mohawk" said they weren't doing anything about it. I tried talking to a person from mohawk and the lady who answered said we weren't their customer and there was nobody to answer my questions. She also said we had to go through the retailer. I am very dissatisfied in the product they sold us and the way they treat their customer. I would not purchase any mohawk products. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Mike

I bought a house with new hardwood floors provided by MOHAWK. Within the first year the stain started to come off, and has gotten worse even in areas with almost zero foot traffic. I submitted a warranty claim, they sent out an "inspector", doubt they are actually certified hardwood inspectors. Claim was denied due to moisture in the house???? We are in a new build, no moisture. On the advice of the Company who actually sold the floors, I hired a Certified Hardwood Flooring Inspector who produced a report clearly stating manufacturer defect. Resubmitted the claim and was denied again due to "moisture". IN other words MOHAWK have zero interest in supplying defective hardwood floors and have zero intention of paying out on any warranty claims. Do Not risk being in our situation, do not buy MOHAWK flooring.

We had a terrible experience trying to get this company to make good on their warranty. We purchases their Lifeproof carpet because we were told that it would hold up better because the fibers were different. However, after less than two years we have huge dark spots by the doors of the bedrooms. They will not honor the warranty because they said that is a high traffic areas and it is usual wear. I have never been in a house with carpet that new and seen that in a high traffic area.
Also, the lady at Home Depot who was in charge of the installation told us that she had a lot of complaints about their carpet the year ours was put in. They were selling us faulty carpet and no one will do anything about it. This is a major home purchase and I will never buy a purchase like this from Mohawk Flooring or Home Depot for that matter again. It is not just that the carpet is bad and it is a big pain, but it is the fact that they will not stand by their product and fix it when it is obvious this was not supposed to happen to carpet this quickly.

Took a week to get standard products. We were doing a staircase renewal using redwood and the 5 in 1 transition for the nosing. If you under buy or scrap something you will be waiting a week for product. If you over buy you CANNOT RETURN ANYTHING AT ALL. I received 1 defective 5 in 1, it was replaced but it took several days and I had to drive to the distributor to pick up, taking money out of the job. Technical support people were very helpful. Bottom line is that I will only use Mohawk as a last resort. I can return Pergo, Shaw, Smart Core, LL Flooring. All are fantastic products.

Revwood Flooring Plus warranty refused. Why? The bottom line is because they don't make that pattern anymore making excuses to getting out of honoring it. Originally told by Empire the installer it was not covered from water damage voiding our Warrenty. So we hired another flooring company to fix it and was told that it has a lifetime after starting the repair. Then the excuse changed to a 3rd party touching the floor voided the warranty. If you would have honor the warranty to begin with I would have hired a 3rd party. We just wanted the floor fixed being upfront about the damage which states in the Mohawk warranty it's still covered.

The "click" together flooring does not click together or more to the point it clicks together then immediately separates. I can't even find a contractor to do it short of massive labor costs. I bought this flooring as a DIY project, luckily I'm able to return it short of a few ruined cartons. I don't recommend it at all or if you do decide to use it be prepared to pay double the material cost to have it installed because it is not simple in any way and as I stated it does not "click" together.

We had the majority of the floor in our house redone, and we chose Mohawk - SolidTech - Discovery Ridge Coffee House Tan Luxury Vinyl Plank. I chose it because the ratings for Mohawk luxury vinyl looked good. I regret our choice completely. My husband and I live alone in the house, we don't have pets, and we don't have any heavy traffic. We have placed felt protectors on all of our furniture. Despite all of this, there are scratches everywhere. The floor is less than 2 years old, but it looks like it has been here for years. I cannot recommend their flooring, nor will I purchase it again. We previously had laminate flooring in the kitchen and living room, and we never had an issue with a single scratch over 5+ years. This was a huge investment that we'll regretfully have to live with.

Beware of purchasing Mohawk wood flooring. The flooring we purchased is falling apart. The finish is coming off and the wood is chipping off. We contacted the store where we purchased. They filed a claim with Mohawk, who in return sent out an inspector. This inspector spent over two hours at our home running test and asking questions. It is obvious they are trying to refuse the claim. Is this the type of company you want to spend $1000s of dollars with. They do not stand behind their products. I highly recommend finding another reputable manufacturer and save yourself a lot of headaches with Mohawk.

I installed RevWood Plus Laminate Flooring from Mohawk throughout my entire home because of the claims of it being truly waterproof. That is a lie, and the floors cannot withstand any moisture. My entire floor bubbled and swelled. The floor never was abnormally wet other than water splashing on it from doing dishes or normal spills and stuff that is cleaned up immediately. I used laminate-safe cleaning products, and the entire floor is now bubbling. The Mohawk warranty is a joke, they immediately said it was from improper care, which is not true. Then they had an inspector come down and because the report (which by the way is just data and nothing more) didn't say there was a defect they declined the warranty.
I had 5 other flooring companies come in to look at my floor (even another Mohawk reseller) and every one of them said that this floor should not be doing this. That this type of damage should never happen even if I dumped water on the floor and let it sit for hours. They also told me Mohawk is a company that doesn't stand by their customer or their product they decline everything and are difficult.
So here is what I learned:1. Mohawk flooring overall is bad quality flooring and cannot handle any moisture (aka water resistant/proof claims are a lie).
2. Mohawk flooring will warp and bubble if you attempt to clean the floor with any laminate-safe products (even their own), sweep them, or use any cleaning tools- since, to Mohawk, that is improper care and will void the warranty.
3. Mohawk warranty is a ruse.
4. Stay away from Mohawk flooring if you want flooring that will last more than a few years.
Stay away and buy Shaw flooring or another brand. This product is a joke, and it is funny that I see video after video of the same flooring having the same issue, and Mohawk response it the same, improper care. I guess their floor is so fragile that you need special training to clean it properly.

Bought Pergo flooring from Lowe's Home Store in 2015. I was told this flooring was the best on the market and had a lifetime warranty against defects. In 2021 I noticed a chip on a corner of one piece, I repaired it with glue. From January 2022 about 12 pieces have chips or cracks on the top June 2022. I filed a warranty claim through Lowe's. After several inquiries and one which involved an employee telling me I was wasting my time they deny all claims. I sent them pictures of the flooring showing them the wear.
They accused me of first having a dog which I never had and then of over-cleaning which I only used a dry mop once a week and vinegar and water in my wet mob. They also asked if I had any pieces left I didn’t use. I kept all receipts and still filed a claim. Mohawk Flooring contacted Loews telling them, I over-abused the flooring. I am 68 years old and live with my wife. I take care of anything I buy. I sent numerous pictures of the flooring to them of the flooring that was installed. As of today the chipping has gotten worst. At my age now I will have to hire a contractor to install the new flooring costing me twice as much. I just wanted replacement which they refused and refused to physically see the flooring. The employee was right, they offer the lifetime warranty but have never honored it.

Mohawk Flooring owns Pergo Timbercraft vinyl flooring and many other flooring that you see in big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot. They advertise their product with a 10 year or 20 year or limited lifetime warranty against scratching and waterproof and more. The problem is even when you read those warranties and try to place a claim they have departments that single purpose is to try to find any reason to decline the claim.
Now even when you go back to the store you bought it from, such as lowes, who wants to help you but can only file a claim on your behalf, it takes six months of going back and forth, them losing your claims, denying for reasons unknown, asking questions to void the warranty and then when all they do fails because you’ve done everything within warranty (I.e. - own your home, clean w water only, no water damage, no dogs, no abrasive cleaners, send photos, etc. they won’t even send someone they basically say “here is a few boxes but we’re not paying for labor”.
Here’s the kicker. Have you ever tried to pick up a few boards from different parts of the kitchen of a vinyl floor without picking them all up. And then are you able to reuse them. See these warranties look good in the store but buyer beware. Make sure you read the reviews of people who had issues so you know they are there during the good times and not when you need them.

We hired some flooring people to install laminate hardwood flooring throughout our house prior to moving in. We bought it in Sept 2015. Around 2-3 years later the edges started to chip and break off. I recently came across the Mohawk warranty information and found that it was supposed to be covered for 20 years. I contacted the company that installed the flooring. Unfortunately they did not survive COVID. This only gave me option to contact Mohawk directly. They typically do not deal directly with public (and it shows). I got the appropriate forms and followed their procedure. After several weeks they told me that they would need to send an inspector to my house to get photos and etc of the affected area.
After this inspection they sent me an email that they would not be honoring their warranty as it was not "normal wear" on the tiles. I have emailed them back to have them better explain this but after a week or so of no response I decided to post my review of their inferior product. The areas that wore are high traffic areas - hallways, doorways, etc.
The flooring is nice looking and does very well in non high traffic areas. Everywhere we had walking and moving things across it the product failed consistently and completely. Apparently their flooring is only for show and NOT for use. Now I am in the process of replacing their 20 year floor (only 7 years later as the wear is significant and looks terrible). I have to say I will be asking the new installer about who they use to make sure it is NOT Mohawk brand... don't want to install a new floor again in 5 years.

When I was in the market for new carpeting, I went to Flooring Source in Dickinson, TX. I specifically said I needed carpet that was pet-friendly AND durable. The salesperson told me about Mohawk's Rhino Challenge video on YouTube, where after a year of a rhino living on their SmartStrand carpet, after being professionally cleaned it looked as good as new. Between that video and the salesperson telling me that even though the carpet might look matted and flat after a while, after a professional cleaning the carpet would "bounce back" to looking new again. I was also "sold" by Mohawk's carpet guarantee. It wasn't even 9 months after the carpet was installed that it started matting down and looking like it was about 10 years old.
I remembered the Rhino Challenge video and the claims that the salesperson made so I wasn't worried about the carpet--until AFTER I had the carpet professionally cleaned (by a company recommended by Flooring Source), and the carpet DID NOT "bounce back" at all. It still looked matted down and flat in the higher traffic areas. Mind you, I live alone and do not wear shoes on the carpet, and I vacuum the carpet at least once a week.
I immediately contacted Flooring Source and asked my salesperson to come look at the carpet. She did and agreed with me that the carpet was not performing as it should be for its age. The salesperson told me not to worry--that I had done everything right (including buying the recommended padding). So the retailer filed a claim with Mohawk. An "independent" inspector (hired and paid for by Mohawk) came out to look at the carpet, and he did a poor examination of the carpet. All he cared about discussing was the stains on the carpet that did not come out after being professionally cleaned. I kept trying to get his attention to the matting problem, but he seemed disinterested in what I was saying. He did not even get down to do a close inspection, nor did he do any tests on the carpet (except to show that the professional cleaner did not do a good job of removing stains).
Since I was still making payments on the carpet, I filed a dispute with Synchrony Bank so I would not have to make any more payments until my claim was resolved. After about six months after I complained to Flooring Source about the carpet looking old already, I was told that Mohawk and Flooring Source were denying my claim. I was shocked! What good is a warranty if the consumer can't depend on it when there is a valid claim?
I also contacted Mohawk's consumer affairs department, and I was told how I could hire a Master Inspector myself and have the report sent to Mohawk. So I called a different inspector than the one Mohawk sent, but I was told it would cost $500!!! But after a brief conversation with this other inspector, I found out that the inspector sent out by Mohawk did NOT do a thorough job. I am a single senior citizen living off social security, so I could not afford to pay $500 for another inspection. And I cannot afford to buy new carpet, AGAIN, when I am still paying for this inferior carpet.
BUYER BEWARE!!! You might get lucky if you buy Mohawk carpet and get a good lot of carpet. But look at all of the negative reviews of Mohawk's carpet--you just might get an inferior lot of carpet, too. Do you really want to take a gamble on such an expensive investment in your home? If you are willing to take that gamble and you lose, forget about Mohawk's warranty helping you out. Their warranty is only a sales tool. And DON'T get fooled by their false advertising like I did! Shame on Flooring Source AND Mohawk Flooring!!!

Mohawk doesn't stand behind any of their products, Laura the customer service rep is an AI or something that tries to make it look like they care. Guess what? Go read the review and stay away from Mohawk. My hardwood floors were installed right before buying my house in late 2017. This is my first home that I worked so hard for, I soon learned that these floors show scratches like no other. My mother and sister both have engineered hardwood and neither looks as crummy as mine and both are older. It has nothing to do with how it is cared for, it's just junk. They have bigger dogs, take less care of theirs and they both look tens time better.
I am a physician and finally finished school, then worked to pay down some loans, first house and can't even have people over because the floors are an embarrassment. They are scratched, peeling, bubbling, and just a plain eye sore. Seeing that I'm still paying loans and working for the State I guess I'm stuck with junk and Laura who apparently has no integrity, otherwise she would have left Mohawk by now. Laura you are not doing anyone a service as there are thousands of reviews that back my claim and very few (probably fake) that support Mohawk. My husband and I purchased some carpeting and flooring from West Valley Flooring in Calgary, Alberta Canada in 2019 and again in 2021. We have had ongoing problems with the most recent purchase. We purchased carpeting to match the carpet we purchased in 2019 in the basement for our upper floors and stairs. The installation date was scheduled for Nov. 16, 2021. We were trying to renovate the entire upper floor in time for Christmas including painting, new baseboards, trims and doors. On Nov. 16th, Ryan contacted my husband to say that after inspecting the carpet, it was not to spec and looked like the waffle pattern had been put on crooked. He offered to install it anyway but said we may not be happy with the result.
Obviously we didn't want a deficient product installed, so we told him to re order the product. Ryan said we would likely get it done on the first week of December, which was bad enough considering the time crunch, but later that week he let us know the carpet had to be manufactured still and then shipped, so we would not get it installed until Dec. 21. We were very upset about this, obviously this put us in a huge bind and we were living in shambles after painting, removing all the baseboards, pulling up carpet to paint railings and we moved most of the furniture to our main floor to help out the installers and now we would have to live like that for weeks.
We told them we expected compensation for this inconvenience, Ryan said it was not West Valley's fault or problem and the owner Jon sent me a lovely email explaining that inconvenience is "a part of life" and that he had to live with it (he even gave me examples) and so should I. We pushed them to get compensation from the manufacturer and they got us a $300 credit on our invoice, which they thought we should be grateful for (the invoice was over $10,000). This was in no way satisfactory to us but West Valley was unwilling to pursue the claim further.
We also purchased the same carpet for our basement in 2019, and we are now having problems with the carpet looking frayed and worn on the stairs. When we purchased the carpet from Luis at West Valley Flooring, I specifically asked to buy a carpet that would not look worn after only a few years, especially in high traffic areas, I mentioned the "fuzzy" look that carpets can get after a while. Luis told me that most manufacturers will not warranty stairs but that Mohawk would if we purchased the recommended pad. We now have the fuzzy look on some of our stairs and we wanted West Valley to take a look at it but they said it is not covered, they specified only "abrasive wear" was covered and not "texture retention".
This was not specified to us when we purchased the product and now we are stuck with a "premium" product that looks worn after 24 months, which is completely unacceptable. Luis is no longer with West Valley Flooring and the current sales team is unwilling to uphold what their previous employee led us to believe. We believe these are dishonest sales tactics and will no longer be dealing with this company moving forward for any new products but we have no choice but to deal with them on our existing product. We have cleaned the carpets with a professional cleaner twice to keep up our warranty and we chose Mohawk specifically because we were told "they stand behind their products''.
We have had nothing but frustrations with your company and West Valley and I am prepared to write a very detailed review of our experiences for Consumer Reports as well as all dealers who sell your product in Calgary. We purchased these products in good faith and we expected to be treated as valued customers in return. Do not purchase from West Valley, they lie and have horrible customer service and please don't buy Mohawk products, they are not the premium product you think you're getting and their warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Went in Home Depot in 2002 to purchase Pergo laminate flooring. Had six boxes loaded in cart when I was approached by a flooring employee who ask me who was installing my floor. I replied to him a neighbor. He said, "If you let us install the flooring by a certified flooring technician you will have a lifetime warranty." Of course I fell for it. About four or five years ago the floor started to buckle up in several areas. I could not do anything about it as I was unable to find paperwork. In June I had a new credenza delivered and needed to clean out drawers. I was quite excited to find registration as well as receipt. I immediately called Mohawk flooring and gave them various information. The information was confirmed by Mohawk saying that the flooring was covered by manufacturer’s warranty, but I would need to go to store to pursue claim. The store was Home Depot in Norfolk, Virginia on Military Highway.
For two months, I visited the store several times and spent hours on the phone holding on only to be transferred to numerous people that would pass me on to someone else. I feel if I was mislead on by both Mohawk and Home Depot. The bottom line they denied the claim. It buckled up through no fault of my own. Always going to have someone call me back which doesn’t happen. Was offered a Home Depot card of 250 from flooring manager which I am grateful for but all of this aggravation over a 1300 dollar claim which will probably be way more to have the floor replaced. The floor gas been well maintained and cared for.
My message to everyone is where is accountability anymore. Why would you send a letter saying it is covered by manufacturer's warranty and then deny claim. Why not deny it in the beginning instead of putting a 76 year old through 2 months of stress. I guess with limited staff due to Covid 19, staff can treat customers how they like with no accountability. Was considering laminate flooring for the rest of my house, but certainly no consideration for MOHAWK FLOORING. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE SENT SOMEONE OUT TO INSPECT THE SITUATION.

I purchased a home and ended up having to replace the carpet throughout the house. I was shopping around and went to a reliable carpet company. After looking at different carpet brands I decided on Mohawk. The carpet felt nice, there was a good warranty, and good stain protection. When the carpet was being installed I asked about getting a thicker padding for more cushioning, but was told it would void the warranty.
For several years everything was great, and the carpet felt great. Then it slowly started. While walking on the carpet there was a loud crinkling almost as if I was stepping on a plastic bag. As time went on it spread to about 85% of the rest of the house where the carpet was installed. The only place it wasn't an issue was where we had some of the thicker carpet installed.
After a while of the crinkling sound with each step I finally called the company that installed the carpet. They ended up coming out, and a sample of the padding was taken. We waited to find out what Mohawk would say confident that the padding would be replaced as we were told other people had the same issue. About a week later the company called and told me the claim was denied stating the padding was that way because it had gotten wet. I was then asked if the carpet had been washed. I told him the carpet had not been washed. That might be a reasonable excuse if it were only in a part of the house, but this is throughout. I am now waiting for them to reach out to Mohawk again to replace the beyond faulty padding.
Hello David, I'm Laura with Mohawk Flooring. I apologize for your experience with your carpet padding. Thank you for having reached out to your retailer in order to initiate your claim process. The urine remained in the carpet under his urine black light and to the naked eye after he brought in his own carpet cleaner and used hot water extraction to clean several test areas. They denied even though he spent a great amount of time and did many test to make sure he gave honest results.

On both sites, you can find your nearest certified flooring inspectors. They usually have a wide radius of service. You or the inspector can send the report to consumer@mohawkind.com. I apologize again for your experience.

My wife bought new carpet for our house and within 2 weeks it looked like the carpet was 10 years old. The carpet was vacuumed multiple times a week. It didn't seem to help the carpet. I've tried having someone from Express Flooring take a look at it and they won't do anything about the carpet.
