Mohawk doesn't stand behind any of their products, Laura the customer service rep is an AI or something that tries to make it look like they care. Guess what? Go read the review and stay away from Mohawk. My hardwood floors were installed right before buying my house in late 2017. This is my first home that I worked so hard for, I soon learned that these floors show scratches like no other. My mother and sister both have engineered hardwood and neither looks as crummy as mine and both are older. It has nothing to do with how it is cared for, it's just junk. They have bigger dogs, take less care of theirs and they both look tens time better.
I am a physician and finally finished school, then worked to pay down some loans, first house and can't even have people over because the floors are an embarrassment. They are scratched, peeling, bubbling, and just a plain eye sore. Seeing that I'm still paying loans and working for the State I guess I'm stuck with junk and Laura who apparently has no integrity, otherwise she would have left Mohawk by now. Laura you are not doing anyone a service as there are thousands of reviews that back my claim and very few (probably fake) that support Mohawk. Mohawk doesn't stand behind their warranties and blames the customer for having an inferior product. 15 year warranty. Lol. They would be good to get a month out of this junk.
We had our dream home build for us and moved in July 2021 (7 months ago). We had Mohawk Laminate Revwood installed. We have had laminate before and NEVER experienced anything like this and the worst part is that Mohawk is ignoring us and denied any responsibility without coming out to look at it. We have over 2000 square feet of our home with this product and it is all scratched up. We are not abusive whatsoever. It started right away and has progressively gotten worse. Everything scratches the floor! We have 1 dog (a doodle) and no children. Just my husband and myself live there. I sent pictures to Mohawk and they still won't take any responsibility. It will cost us thousand of dollars to replace this floor but we have no choice. I will never purchase any products from them, not because of the problem but the way they didn't handle it.
My husband and I purchased some carpeting and flooring from West Valley Flooring in Calgary, Alberta Canada in 2019 and again in 2021. We have had ongoing problems with the most recent purchase. We purchased carpeting to match the carpet we purchased in 2019 in the basement for our upper floors and stairs. The installation date was scheduled for Nov. 16, 2021. We were trying to renovate the entire upper floor in time for Christmas including painting, new baseboards, trims and doors. On Nov. 16th, Ryan contacted my husband to say that after inspecting the carpet, it was not to spec and looked like the waffle pattern had been put on crooked. He offered to install it anyway but said we may not be happy with the result.
Obviously we didn't want a deficient product installed, so we told him to re order the product. Ryan said we would likely get it done on the first week of December, which was bad enough considering the time crunch, but later that week he let us know the carpet had to be manufactured still and then shipped, so we would not get it installed until Dec. 21. We were very upset about this, obviously this put us in a huge bind and we were living in shambles after painting, removing all the baseboards, pulling up carpet to paint railings and we moved most of the furniture to our main floor to help out the installers and now we would have to live like that for weeks.
We told them we expected compensation for this inconvenience, Ryan said it was not West Valley's fault or problem and the owner Jon sent me a lovely email explaining that inconvenience is "a part of life" and that he had to live with it (he even gave me examples) and so should I. We pushed them to get compensation from the manufacturer and they got us a $300 credit on our invoice, which they thought we should be grateful for (the invoice was over $10,000). This was in no way satisfactory to us but West Valley was unwilling to pursue the claim further.
We also purchased the same carpet for our basement in 2019, and we are now having problems with the carpet looking frayed and worn on the stairs. When we purchased the carpet from Luis at West Valley Flooring, I specifically asked to buy a carpet that would not look worn after only a few years, especially in high traffic areas, I mentioned the "fuzzy" look that carpets can get after a while. Luis told me that most manufacturers will not warranty stairs but that Mohawk would if we purchased the recommended pad. We now have the fuzzy look on some of our stairs and we wanted West Valley to take a look at it but they said it is not covered, they specified only "abrasive wear" was covered and not "texture retention".
This was not specified to us when we purchased the product and now we are stuck with a "premium" product that looks worn after 24 months, which is completely unacceptable. Luis is no longer with West Valley Flooring and the current sales team is unwilling to uphold what their previous employee led us to believe. We believe these are dishonest sales tactics and will no longer be dealing with this company moving forward for any new products but we have no choice but to deal with them on our existing product. We have cleaned the carpets with a professional cleaner twice to keep up our warranty and we chose Mohawk specifically because we were told "they stand behind their products''.
We have had nothing but frustrations with your company and West Valley and I am prepared to write a very detailed review of our experiences for Consumer Reports as well as all dealers who sell your product in Calgary. We purchased these products in good faith and we expected to be treated as valued customers in return. Do not purchase from West Valley, they lie and have horrible customer service and please don't buy Mohawk products, they are not the premium product you think you're getting and their warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
Went in Home Depot in 2002 to purchase Pergo laminate flooring. Had six boxes loaded in cart when I was approached by a flooring employee who ask me who was installing my floor. I replied to him a neighbor. He said, "If you let us install the flooring by a certified flooring technician you will have a lifetime warranty." Of course I fell for it. About four or five years ago the floor started to buckle up in several areas. I could not do anything about it as I was unable to find paperwork. In June I had a new credenza delivered and needed to clean out drawers. I was quite excited to find registration as well as receipt. I immediately called Mohawk flooring and gave them various information. The information was confirmed by Mohawk saying that the flooring was covered by manufacturer’s warranty, but I would need to go to store to pursue claim. The store was Home Depot in Norfolk, Virginia on Military Highway.
For two months, I visited the store several times and spent hours on the phone holding on only to be transferred to numerous people that would pass me on to someone else. I feel if I was mislead on by both Mohawk and Home Depot. The bottom line they denied the claim. It buckled up through no fault of my own. Always going to have someone call me back which doesn’t happen. Was offered a Home Depot card of 250 from flooring manager which I am grateful for but all of this aggravation over a 1300 dollar claim which will probably be way more to have the floor replaced. The floor gas been well maintained and cared for.
My message to everyone is where is accountability anymore. Why would you send a letter saying it is covered by manufacturer's warranty and then deny claim. Why not deny it in the beginning instead of putting a 76 year old through 2 months of stress. I guess with limited staff due to Covid 19, staff can treat customers how they like with no accountability. Was considering laminate flooring for the rest of my house, but certainly no consideration for MOHAWK FLOORING. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE SENT SOMEONE OUT TO INSPECT THE SITUATION.
Purchased the Mohawk Life Proof carpet at a price of $4880.00 for my living room and 2 bedrooms through Home Depot in Nov. 2020. In April 2021 pickup up couch for cleaning and there is a area under the couch where the top threads are unraveling. Contacted Home Depot, they opened up a claim with "The Mill" (Mohawk) first step, take and send pictures (done!), get carpet professionally cleaned (done!), they send a professional inspector (they DO NOT send this report to the consumer). Home Depot and "The Mill" (Mohawk) claim it is "SITE RELATED" what does that mean?!
Have been emailing, calling and faxing since April. Home Depot is now putting this on the Mohawk and has stopped responding. My hope is that customers do their homework and read reviews. Don't be fooled by the 25 year texture and retention warranty, I had only had this carpeting for 5 months. Shame on you Home Depot and Mohawk.
New Mohawk carpet was put into my home 2/2018 after we had a wildfire that burnt down many of the homes on our street. We suffered only smoke damage. I live in a pristine home, with only my husband and no pets. The carpet we chose was a Sisal Impression 172. We immediately started to show pilling in areas of our home which isn't even walked on. Stains couldn't be removed and we abided by their request that every 18 months we get the carpet professionally cleaned. When they sent out their inspector he was blown away by our home and couldn't believe the staining and inability by professionals to get it out. Then Mohawk denied our warranty claim. I was willing to get Mohawk again in other rooms if they worked with us but we will never again buy Mohawk (an American company) and will tell my friends, many of whom are ready to get flooring, to use this company.
After reviewing hundreds of samples, my design team decided on the Solidtech Plus Luxury Vinyl Flooring (Franklin/De Soto) in Bangor color. We ordered 3 samples of this flooring to make sure we accounted for potential variations (different sources). All were exceptional and distributed to our designers and furniture makers to match. The flooring arrived a month later and was labeled to match our order, but the flooring inside was a different color. Our project manager brought a couple pieces to a flooring showroom and found the color matched another Mohawk product and not the one we ordered. Our rep initially could see the difference, but is now pretending like they are a perfect match. I could have got a bad color from Home Depot for $2 a square foot.
We purchased carpet about a year ago and it’s already started to unpill and it looks like a shaggy wet dog. Normal wear and tear from 2 senior citizens— carpet should be able to last longer than a year. They refused to honor their "25-year quality warranty." Will never buy Mohawk again
I built my house and bought Mohawk 32534-94 wood flooring that started to separate and break apart within a month of being installed by an employee of the flooring company I bought it from. Over 2 years of excuses and get put off by my the local store I contacted Mohawk. This was the same, I would get a claim number and when I called it would get transferred to a hood line that eventually would hang up on me. Very disappointed and have to replace all of it. Warranties are as only good as the company and this is a very poor one.
I purchased 139 sq.yds of Mohawks Hudson Landing carpet, within about 3 years it really started showing wear and they came out to look at it. They said because we did not professionally clean it as written in the warranty they would not cover it. What a joke. No one cleans carpet that often! I sold carpet for 5 years so I do understand carpet and warranty. They brought in a carpet appraiser to look at our carpet and that is what he concluded.
The joke is we are 2 people that live here and gone for at least 2 months every year and would almost never wear outside shoes in our house, also live in a city. We also had a professional come clean it before they looked at it and he wrote us a letter stating that our carpet was very clean when he cleaned it. Just been frustrated that you spend all this money and they use the cleaning as an escape which is clearly not the problem. The company that installed it have been fighting for me also and they are getting nowhere. The last offer they offered me is they would sell me new stuff for half price....Really!! What an insult !!!
I purchased a home and ended up having to replace the carpet throughout the house. I was shopping around and went to a reliable carpet company. After looking at different carpet brands I decided on Mohawk. The carpet felt nice, there was a good warranty, and good stain protection. When the carpet was being installed I asked about getting a thicker padding for more cushioning, but was told it would void the warranty.
For several years everything was great, and the carpet felt great. Then it slowly started. While walking on the carpet there was a loud crinkling almost as if I was stepping on a plastic bag. As time went on it spread to about 85% of the rest of the house where the carpet was installed. The only place it wasn't an issue was where we had some of the thicker carpet installed.
After a while of the crinkling sound with each step I finally called the company that installed the carpet. They ended up coming out, and a sample of the padding was taken. We waited to find out what Mohawk would say confident that the padding would be replaced as we were told other people had the same issue. About a week later the company called and told me the claim was denied stating the padding was that way because it had gotten wet. I was then asked if the carpet had been washed. I told him the carpet had not been washed. That might be a reasonable excuse if it were only in a part of the house, but this is throughout. I am now waiting for them to reach out to Mohawk again to replace the beyond faulty padding.
Hello David, I'm Laura with Mohawk Flooring. I apologize for your experience with your carpet padding. Thank you for having reached out to your retailer in order to initiate your claim process. Your retailer will continue to do all communication with Mohawk on your behalf regarding your concerns. I'm very sorry again for your experience.
Carpet was to come clean if pet urine, feces, or vomit. Independent carpet inspection determined that carpet will not come clean. The urine remained in the carpet under his urine black light and to the naked eye after he brought in his own carpet cleaner and used hot water extraction to clean several test areas. They denied even though he spent a great amount of time and did many test to make sure he gave honest results.

My wife bought new carpet for our house and within 2 weeks it looked like the carpet was 10 years old. The carpet was vacuumed multiple times a week. It didn't seem to help the carpet. I've tried having someone from Express Flooring take a look at it and they won't do anything about the carpet.

We liked the pattern and the feel of Mohawk products so we went with that. Everything was fine when we had them installed in three rooms.
My home was destroyed by Hurricane Florence in September of 2018. My house was not in a flood plain but was flooded and I did not have flood insurance. I chose the Mohawk Vinyl Plank flooring because of its 25 year warranty and that it was waterproof. One year and 3 months later the floor is damaged, cracking and fading. Mohawk sent and inspector out when my dealer filed a claim. Mohawk placed all blame on the dealer and took no responsibility for this issue. The dealer did an amazing job installing the floor. The floor is beautiful, however I know find out that the warranty does not cover really anything. Mohawk placed blame on my foundation floor not being level. It did not affect the Ethan Allen Laminate floor that I had installed and walked on for over 12 years! I cannot believe that this has been the response I received and that what is promoted as such a high quality product has turned out the way it has.

Updated on 05/19/2020: Laura- Thank you for your response on my review. I cannot see where I can respond. You might want to speak to Frank Michaels about a claim being started. He told me months ago he was starting one. I can only do so much on my end. I am feeling like this is becoming a full time job. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. Kim
Original Review: To start off I am a HUGE fan of my flooring from my former home. Rare Vintage Fawn Chestnut laminate. I cannot say enough about how AWESOME this floor was. In 5 years not one visible scratch. 2 dogs, 2 cats and young kids. I would get so many compliments on my floor and even had the store that I purchased from allow prospective clients come see the flooring in a more expansive manner. It was hands down a favorite all time floor. In February 2020 we were having our floor installer put in a newer product by Mohawk called Mohawk RevWood Plus Crest Haven Briarwood Oak in our new home. As he went along he discovered that the ends were not meeting up properly. Not like the former laminate I had.
He contacted the store where I purchased and they in return spoke with local rep. The rep was to come out and inspect the floor. He never did. He told me he would come on that Sunday. Then when that didn't happen he said Wednesday in the afternoon. Never showed. I provided a video showing how the ends were not meeting properly with the "GenuEdge® pressed bevel edge." I sent a video illustrating the problem to the store. Upon my arrival back to the house, my floor installer was told by the rep, that it was the "norm." He had finished the entire 2200 sf of flooring. To be told over the phone that it was the norm and if any "further issues'' occurred that the floor is under warranty is outrageous!
To make the situation worse my husband and I noticed this black dot. I initially thought it was some dirt from outside but when I went to wipe it up, it stayed. I then noticed the dots all over the place. I contacted the flooring store and was told once again that the rep will be contacting me. Nope. Later that week I attended a function where I just happened to run into the rep of Mohawk. Being at a social event, I kept myself from going off. I did tell him I didn't appreciate his lack of follow through. And unbelievably, he made a remark about "did I see the flaw" in the floor? We were dumbfounded by him having full knowledge of this and completely disregarding my attempts to get him out to examine the floor.
I have made several attempts to speak to someone about this and have complete understanding of the recent pandemic issues. I simply want someone to contact me and assure me that they WILL come see the floor and address these issues down the road. I have been told they are seeking a new supervisor rep for the territory and would contact me. Once again. Nope. Today my husband called again and was told they would pass on our request to Mohawk.
I write this to forewarn anyone from purchasing this particular product. Regretful that these "improvements" made by Mohawk have tainted my love of the laminate. We have gone from February to May with ZERO help from Mohawk. Over 10k on a laminate that is subpar. I have a video and pictures of this stupid dot and how the edge is not beveled on each end. So frustrated. I will end this with mentioning in this period of time, the floor has scratches throughout. Buyer beware.
Hello Kim, I'm Laura with Mohawk Flooring - I'm very sorry to hear about your experience with your floor. In order to get your flooring assessed, your retailer needs to file a claim with Mohawk on your behalf. We do not currently see a claim filed under your name. Please ask your retailer to file a claim so that we can look into your concerns. I apologize again for your experience.
I found the Mohawk product through a local carpet store called Carpet Station. It was the thickest, most plush carpet they had, which was why we went for it. We did one room and I am 100% satisfied. It’s easy to clean and we’ve vacuumed it several times.
We are having a curling/bowing issue 2 years after installation. (Luxury vinyl planks & Mohawk’s adhesive, professionally installed.). Mohawk hired an inspector to come to our house. His report stated the planks are bowing & the glue isn’t holding. Mohawk, citing inconclusive evidence from their own inspector, denied our claim via a second-party email that we had to specifically request from them. The warranty is obviously a gimmick as Mohawk will not take responsibility. The retailer said they’ve seen warping straight from the box on Mohawk’s planks from China. 30% of our floor is in the dumpster and sectional replacement is not an option because this series is discontinued. We will have to spend $6,000 to remove/replace this new Mohawk floor, obviously with a different brand.

We're planning to do a basement. I wanted Mohawk's LVT product and liked its appearance. The reps very much top quality. If you look at price and the quality of products, Mohawk rates pretty highly.
Mohawk Flooring was the only one I could reach to place an order during the Corona. I liked their resilient variations. My only complaint is they don’t have any delivery. But other than that, I like our flooring. We just picked it up yesterday. It's a little over 1,500 square feet. We’re going to do the entire house. Hopefully, we can install it this weekend.
I bought a new house, so it already had like some existing Mohawk flooring. We kinda matched that in one place and then went with another color. Mohawk seemed pretty good, so we went with them. So far, so good.
We wanted to try to seek out some local business support so we went to one of our local places called Fred's Flooring. They showed us exactly what we were looking for in the Mohawk carpet. Fred's Flooring is really great. Their installers were just in and out and they knew what they were doing. They didn't speak much English but they were hard workers. They got it all done and they cleaned up well. I can't say enough about Fred's Flooring and their tremendous representative of Mohawk Flooring. We had three bedrooms and a big bonus room done. It was about 104 square yards. It's mostly in our whole upstairs. It looks nice and it's really comfortable. We know we got a thick pad. My wife is highly satisfied and she loves it, so I love it.
Purchased Mohawk carpet thru Lowe’s for our 2 upstairs bedrooms-we don’t wear shoes in these rooms and there are only two of us so very little traffic. The carpet we purchased was a mid range plush stain master carpet. The installation was on January 26, 2019. Less than a year later there are significant traffic patterns showing on the carpet. I vacuum several times a week so lack of care is not the issue. Sent a sample as requested to Mohawk and they told Lowe’s it was within the range of tolerance therefore we had no claim under warranty. We had over 20 year old carpet previously which of course was worn, did not expect new higher quality carpet with upgraded pad to show the same wear in less than a year. Very disappointed, terrible customer service. DO NOT recommend!
Hello Julia, I'm Laura with Mohawk Flooring, and I'm very sorry hear about your experience with your carpet. We looked for a claim under your name - was the claim possibly filed under a different name? Or, did Lowe's provide you with the 7-digit Mohawk claim number? If you'd like to provide the phone number that would have been associated with the claim, we can also search for the claim using the phone number. Once we locate the claim, we can advise you of next steps. I apologize again for your experience.
My daughter had Mohawk Flooring and it’s just been out there for a long time. She is happy with her carpeting and I hope I will be too once I get it. I purchased two pieces of one-color dye lot and they didn’t match. It had to be pieced because they had a big roll and it wouldn’t have been good but I'm glad. It was kind of a Berber and it was harder to piece anyway. So, the next thing I’m gonna do is get the SmartStrand silk.
Hello Joan, I'm Laura with Mohawk Flooring - thank you, to you and your daughter, for choosing Mohawk carpet for your homes. I'm sorry to hear that you had concerns with your order, but glad to know that your concerns are being resolved, and thank your daughter is please with her carpeting. Thank you again for choosing Mohawk, and I hope you enjoy your new carpet!
Mohawk Flooring gave me the advice that I needed on what to look for in a carpet before ordering. I had special needs and not just any old carpet would work. The installation was super great. It was installed in the living room and two bedrooms and was done all in one day. They were very efficient and quick. The carpet is very nice and pretty. I'm very happy and satisfied with it.
I’m happy with the Mohawk carpet that I got and I haven't had any trouble with it at all. It’s a nice carpet and it was affordable. So, I used it for an area rug too in my bedroom.
Mohawk's price and the quality made me choose it. It’s not overpriced. It’s not underpriced. The quality’s still there. We went with the contractor-grade product. We’re in the process of selling our house, and our carpet was old. It’s from 2015 and it had pretty big wear spots.
I purchased vinyl because there was already Mohawk flooring in the and house we had to match it. I’m a contractor, so I use Mohawk pretty often. I went directly to the factory and I picked it up myself. Everything was straightforward and quick. The installation was simple, too. It was done by my installers, so they were always professional. the quality of the flooring is good, and there is seamless integration.
Updated on 06/29/2020: Hello, still waiting for Laura or someone at a Mohawk to get back with me. On May 7th she indicated they would help me with next step on claim as installer/flooring company refused to file a claim. Please contact me.
Original Review: My previous laminate was also Mohawk and totally loved it. After my home was flooded I replace with supposedly a better Laminate Rev Wood. Worst product ever, wish I had read reviews. Not only does it scratch terribly but I have had repeated issues with edges and seams “lifting”. Have had to have installer out twice due to seams opening up. At Thanksgiving time my daughter dropped the Bona floor cleaner on the floor, I immediately wiped up all of it within a few minutes. The next morning I came downstairs and I have 4 damaged raised edge boards. So much for 30 min water resistance, this happened in minutes. There was another area in dining room where board edges looked warped and had never come in contact with any liquids.
I called the installer who came out and had to order 3 boxes of laminate to repair both areas. I emailed Mohawk twice and called 3 times. All I ever get is contact installer to file claim. Installer doesn’t want to file claim as he says they send out their reviewer who pretty much blames it on installer and won’t replace. Even if the darn floor is blamed on installer that doesn’t take away from the point that edges are getting damage without any liquid every hitting them. Have had other brands laminate floors and like I said another Mohawk scraped wood laminate product that was pretty much indestructible. This crappy floor scratches, at joint points seems raised and some areas random edges warped looking.
Hello Kathy, I'm Laura with Mohawk Flooring. I sincerely apologize for your experience with your flooring. I understand you have reached out previously to our team, and been asked to have your retailer file a claim for you, as the claim is something your retailer has to file on your behalf. I also understand from your comments here that your retailer has not filed the claim. I will send you more information on next steps - I apologize again for your experience.
We had floors in Mohawk before and I had a few left, and so I wanted more of it. We got a different Mohawk this time, the blended tones flooring. The one who sold them to me was very helpful .Everything has been very good and the installation process was very easy.
