I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 2019 in Home Depot for my new home. The dishwasher stopped washing dishes after two years and 6 months. The price of the new machine was 700$ and I did not buy the extended warranty. The trouble is circulation pump, that cost to install the new one from local service would be about 350$ plus the new pump 150$. I consider quality is very poor if the new dishwasher works only two years and then it is better to buy a new item than fix the old one. Never never buy Maytag production.
Purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Best Buy. We did not buy the extended warranty from BB because there is a warranty with Maytag. After 4 months of use the washer stopped working. We were unable to return it to Best Buy because we exceeded the 2 week return policy and needed to rely on Maytag's 1 year warranty. It took over 2 weeks to schedule a repair and he was unable to fix it, it needed an entirely new Control Board and UI panel. 3 weeks later he returned with the new parts. It worked for 10 days with the NEW Board and panel, it has now stopped working again. We are not able to replace it due to the California Lemon Law which allows a company 3 opportunities to fix it before replacing. Next time I will purchase the Best Buy warranty so I can replace this Maytag LEMON.
We purchased the Maytag several years ago when we upgraded our kitchen. In terms of price, it was very reasonable. In terms of product performance, we have been extremely satisfied with the product. We would highly recommend buying Maytag and would again ourselves in the future.
Hello, My recently purchased dishwasher has leaked water within less than half an hour of the fifth time to be used and showed error: F8E4, dishwasher model and SN are: Model: MDB4949SKZ. Serial # : FA3003347. Registered: 09/11/2021, I've been calling Home Depot who in turn asked the installer to check the connection, and the latter advised and reported it's a manufacturer issue. And calling Maytag for several times but no response or action. On-line service scheduling of Maytag is not working!!! And the live chat is not helping, as well. Now my dishwasher is not working since more than two weeks, knowing that it has been installed only a month ago.
I purchased this $857 dishwasher from Lowe's in May, 2021. It broke in June, 2021. S&S Repair was sent by Maytag to repair. It took 3 weeks for them to come, then they discovered the motor and pump assembly had gone out. Parts were on backorder. It is now August, 13, 2021 and I still have no dishwasher. Lowe's would not replace this dishwasher. Maytag will not authorize a return. This is disgusting.
The dishwasher turns on of its own accord. Sometimes when you get too close to it, once in a while in the middle of the night, and most of the time when you latch the door. It does a great job cleaning the dishes, but to no avail because it's always in the middle of a cycle when you need them.
We purchased a dishwasher (Maytag) two or three years ago. We have had nothing but trouble with it. The welds on the upper rack broke. The wheels on the low rack keep falling off. Water leak happened recently. The start button broke. My wife and I decided to just get a new one rather than keep sinking maintenance costs which are going to keep adding up.
I moved into this house and the dishwasher came with it. For an appliance that is over 8 years old it works beautifully. It cleans my dishes well and doesn't leave residue on them. I ran it through a cleaning cycle recently and that has only improved its performance. I recommend dishwashers by Maytag because they last and perform well.
It’s really quiet and it cleans the dishes, pots, glasses on just 1 cycle and I’ve had it loaded more than one time. I do use rinse aid and I do occasionally use dishwasher cleaner. I wouldn’t own angry other than a Maytag dishwasher. They last forever. The commercial about calling a Maytag service man is true! I’ve never had to call fior service! Well worth the money!
Bought new and only had one service call in 20 years. The control panel was replaced. Since then, the dishwasher has performed well and, factually, was far less expensive than many other models! That figured in our decision when remodeling our kitchen back then.
Quiet, well priced and reliable technology which makes owning this dishwasher an easy buying and owning experience. Having the brand backed with great reliability and if needed excellent service makes the buying decision easy for the consumer.
The salesman tried to convince me to purchase a Bosch dishwasher, but I wanted one with a fingerprint-resistant finish. That narrowed my selection to several manufacturers. This dishwasher has a food grinder in it. It gets my dishes spotlessly clean, and I have been very happy with it.
We all remember the hype with Maytag, but they do tend to work longer and are good on maintenance. I would also advise anyone buying major appliances to get the warranty, this could help offset any major problems concerning your household budget.
I think it’s kind of difficult to mess up a dishwasher design and that being said this dishwasher is as good as expected. I bought it new 4 years ago. I use it maybe once a week unless I have company. It cleans well. I use liquid soap. I never have any leftover residue. It’s very spacious.
Wish there was some way to secure all dishwasher under the cabinets better. It tips forward slightly, but gets caught on counter top, so it won’t fall over. The dishwasher itself is truly amazing. I love the stainless steel inside. I ensure I use the dishwasher cleaner on hottest cycle once a month. I have no odors. Both racks hold up well and the silverware tray has never given me any problems. I even like the thin little third top rack, which is where I lay my larger flat knives or spatula. As long as I use the finish dishwasher cleaner, the dishes come out sparkling. And a few times I have forgotten to fill the finish container, the dishes still sparkle. My teenagers do the dishes a few times a week. They don’t wash them off ahead of time. On occasion I have to pick a few pieces of corn or food out of the bottom, but the dishes still sparkle and the leftover food caught on the drain, well it looks clean enough to eat. I would definitely buy it again.
The first thing you notice about this machine is that it is tinnier than your previous machine. Secondly, it is smaller inside compared to your previous machine. Thirdly you have to be careful in closing the door because you may accidentally touch the controls on the front of the door. The led lights are great but blinding if changes in the settings are required. It is quiet and cleans well but my feeling is that it is made to only last a very short time.
Works quietly and efficiently and I love it! I don't even know it's running and the dishes are sparkling clean when they come out. How could ask for anything more. I would always purchase this brand again. The reliability is another factor, I have had Maytag before.
Excellent dishwasher but door kinda flimsy. Front panel scratches too easy. Top rack needs to be stronger and a bigger bottom rack. Other than that running wise dishwasher is excellent. It's hard to beat Maytag. I think they just build cheap stuff around good motors.
Quiet, efficient and leave you with clean dishes & utensils at the end of its multicycle cycle. This unit can self-clean and is always beautiful with its shine finish stainless steel interior. This unit can be installed by any user as it comes with everything one will need to complete the installation.
Purchased 6-1/2 years ago when we had kitchen remodeled. Bought the stainless steel with stainless interior. The interior design was perfect for placing the various dishes, glassware and utensils. There are a number of settings to choose from, however, we tend to use it as more of a sanitizer so the light or normal wash are the preferred and don't use the heat-dry as we don't find it necessary. Very pleased with the quietness of the cycles and have no regrets with our purchase.
Great dishwasher. The dishwasher heat cycle doesn't dry the dishes but I haven't read the instructions yet. This is a large dishwasher holding lots of dishes. Dishes are clean after the cycle. Washes lots of dishes at the same time. Has handy utensil pull out to put away your utensils after dry.
Purchased a Maytag MDB4949SHZ dishwasher new from Home Depot in January 2018 as part of an extensive home remodel and addition. Did not move back in permanently until late June 2019, so the unit was not used at all until then. It quit working in January 2021 and our local (Sandpoint, ID) appliance repairman diagnosed a bad motor and pump assembly (the main functional component of the dishwasher). The unit was marketed as having a "10 year warranty" and based on past experience with older Maytag appliances we purchased it. The fine print reveals that the "10 year warranty" applies only to components that are unlikely to ever wear out or fail; all the rest are covered by a one year warranty. Part cost is over $200 and does not include installation. Maytag "customer service" (45+ minute hold to speak to a live human) of no help. No way are we throwing good money after bad to fix it. Lesson learned; just purchased a Bosch.
Had problems with install, checked manual to troubleshoot. The error code said to call service... The problem is the manual doesn't provide the phone #. I had to find the # online just to discover they're closed.
We bought a Maytag Dishwasher - Model #MDB4949SHW a year and a half ago at a Home Depot Location. We had previously had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 13 years of heavy use, with no issues or difficulties. At the time we purchased our dishwasher, there were various different brands on sale, including the one we purchased. The sales rep at Home Depot advised us that although we could get a similar dishwasher for the same price, that this particular model had a 10 year warranty. When I heard that, all I heard was 10 worry free years. MY MISTAKE. I could never have imagined that a company such as Whirlpool would advertise a warranty, that in the end is made up of nothing but false advertising.
We ran a cycle during the Christmas holidays, and detected a funny smell of burnt rubber but didn't know what to make of it. I googled the issue and some people had had experiences with perhaps a plastic utensil or some other plastic, being burned by the heating element, so I figured that it's what might have happened. I ran another cycle the next day, and the smell was much less prominent so I thought the problem had gone away. The next time we ran a cycle, the water didn't drain. We called in a repair person, and was shocked to learn that both the drain pump and main control board needed replacing.
We got in touch with Whirlpool and low and behold, the only items they cover are nonsense items such as the racks, drum, tub...etc....in other words, the parts that are actually responsible for the running of the machine, are not covered, neither is LABOUR. Therefore, in my opinion, their warranty is trash and should not be relied upon under any circumstances. We purchased a new dishwasher just a year and a half ago, and are left with a heap of junk in our kitchen. Our options? Either spend $600.00 to $700.00 on repairs, possibly more, or buy a new dishwasher.
When I asked if there was anything they could do to at least mitigate my damages, I was told...."Sorry for your inconvenience...but do you have any other questions." I don't have any other questions...but I do have have a comment.... Make your products better....and don't print warranties that are utterly rubbish, false, and only serve to mislead the consumer. Needless to say, we will not be buying any more appliances from this company. Their one and only goal is profit for their shareholders with no regard whatsoever for the consumer. If I could give it ZERO stars, I most certainly would. :)
I bought a new Maytag dishwasher 9 months ago from Costco - Maytag 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher with PowerBlast Cycle, White. This dishwasher needs a new motor - Please do not buy this dishwasher. It is garbage.
I have a Maytag dishwasher and the rollers for the racks are failing due to heat: plastic wheels breaking up. $35 each to buy and replace. There are eight total. So $280 because of poor testing and quality of materials. Manufacturers should test to ensure the parts last a reasonable period of time and are designed for the environment in which they are being used.
We bought Maytag dishwasher and Fridge and Whirlpool stove, the dishwasher, front panel came apart, the seal leak, the motor make a serious grinding noise, wheel on the interior racks were broken off easily. All of these parts will not be changed under the extended warranty by King & State, Whirlpool do not want to respond to our request for follow up. Neither is Leon's Store where we bought these appliances. Only after 4 years of normal use.... Think about it! Kitchen Aid, Amana, Maytag, Whirlpool, latest Kenmore same products. BBB is not helping resolving these issues, their method is wait and see. Stay away from those companies. As Info: if you need to rinse by hand the dishes before setting them in the dishwasher...wash them much faster and better done.
Bought a Maytag dishwasher early July. Worked great for 3 months. Drain pump went out. Called "customer service", 30 minutes to get a person. 1 week to get a service tech here. Even though we told them pump was out. Sent with no repair parts. So has to come back at our inconvenience, company policy, not service tech fault. Tried to complain on "live chat". 30 minutes for them to get with me. Still no satisfaction. Would not recommend the product for the company itself. Sadly thought we upgraded.
Maytag a Whirlpool brand has been the most disappointing experience. We purchased Maytag front load dishwasher over the Labor Day weekend online & was delivered defective. Tirelessly spent so many hours on phone & mail but lack of response & help. JBH was engaged further damaged our pipe value. Please stay away from Whirlpool & Maytag brands for better experience and customer service.
Good machine. Cleans well. Have owned for about 2 1/2 years. Two issues that I'm not pleased with - steam comes out around sides of machine and has damages. The wood cabinets and the plastic wheels on lower basket have all broken off - have had to replace all 4 at a cost of $38 each + tax and shipping.
