Master Spas was having a sale at the fairgrounds in Chico. I went to go look at it, and I ended up leaving with a spa. I like it. I like the jets as well. They hit the muscles and help the muscles relax. I don't get to use it that often ‘cause I'm over the road, truck driver but when I get home, it's relaxing to go sit in it. It has different seating, and each seating has a different jet. You just switch spots while you're in there, and it hits a different part of the body, which is cool.

When I was having an issue with my swim spa screen all I had to do is email them. The man I emailed was in sales. He said he would forward my email. The next day I got a call from the service department. They set everything up to get my spa repaired. They said I would get a call within a week for the local service person to come out and install my screen. The service man was great. He was very helpful. He took his time to explain to my husband what he was doing to replace the screen. Everyone was great from start until finish.

    Reviewed June 16, 2026

I was looking into purchasing a spa or a jacuzzi, and I saw some advertisements that Master Spas was going to be having a massive sell at the fairgrounds. I liked that their spa was bigger. These things are very expensive and if I was going to spend that amount of money, I might as well get something that I was going to enjoy. There was one that was even more money, and it came with speakers in it. The sales guy told me I didn't really need the speakers and mentioned that the speakers tend to go out a lot. I appreciated the transparency.

The interior of the jacuzzi is great. It works. But the little steps to get into the jacuzzi was not included. I didn't buy one because I didn't feel like spending another $300 or $400 just for those stairs. I went on to the website to look up for accessories, but they're super expensive. I can go to a store like Leslie's Pool and buy the same thing that I need for a huge fraction of the cost.

The customer service when they were trying to sell the spa to me was phenomenal. I pushed back a little bit, but they know what they're doing. They try to drop the rates and give you a discount. They tell you everything you want to hear. The guy that did the paperwork gave me his personal number if I ever had any problems. But once the spa got delivered, I tried to reach out a couple of times but nobody answered my calls or returned them. I had to figure things out on my own by doing research on that particular spa online. I was a little bit disappointed on the customer service end on that. I got no support from any of the numbers that I called that they gave me.

The screws on the panel that has to be removed when you have to drain the jacuzzi are so tiny. They don't even hold. I had to drill bigger screws into the existing holes that were there already where the screws were at. But the moment that I started doing that, the plastic around it got warped. Also, once I removed that panel, it was hard to put back on. That portion of it was not built with the right material. I didn't even bother screwing one of the panels where the drainage is back on because it wouldn't stay. Then on the other side of it, it popped out and got warped out because it wasn't sitting properly into the grooves. I don't know if it was like that when they delivered it because I wasn't home when they did. They also didn't drop it off on the spot that it was supposed to be dropped off. They just left it somewhere where it was easy and convenient for them.

From what I was told and when I viewed my cameras, it was two individuals that came. The jacuzzi was on its side as they were wheeling it in and they just dropped it off outside on the side of my house next to my fire pit. I didn't even know how they transported it. It looked brand-new and wrapped up in plastic. But once I took it apart, there were damages on the side of it and I can't lift it. I don't know how two guys did it to get it off the truck and wheel it in, but they made it look so easy. I think it was damaged either in transit or when they wheeled it in or when they laid it down. I bought it about three years ago but I haven't put too much thought into it until now because nobody's ever called me.

Within the first year, the little plastic couplers that are inside the jets are popping off. Some of my jets don't even have the coupler in there. I've drained it, cleaned it but when I tried to put them back in, there was no way to do that. It won't stay in anymore. I expected a lot more from this company, even at the bare minimum. But they do not offer any kind of maintenance. Any future problems, even if it's up to a year only or two years, there's nobody around. There is no one to get ahold of for anything.

Luckily for me, the jacuzzi is still up and running. I'm a disabled veteran and a jacuzzi is therapeutic. But it sucks how everything has happened and I still owe money on it. If it was to break down tomorrow, I'm stuck with the biggest paperweight in the world. If the heater goes out, I don't know how to change that. I don't even know where to get that piece from. If the mechanism that drains it goes out, I have to grab a bucket now or a pump to extract all the water out of it. Everything that transpired from after I purchased it to delivery to me trying to reach out to them for help has been horrible.

Tub had a strap mark on the top from the delivery tie down strap and the driver was supposed to report it for repair.. I never heard from the dealer. After using it a few months now we noticed the handles in the pool side have rust coming out of the screws and all around the handles! Definitely not stainless or a cheap grade of stainless. The frame under the whole unit is built with interior grade 2x4s instead of pressure treated lumber so it will probably rot here in the Florida humidity in a few short years. Just not what we expected for $36,000!

Master Clarity 8 spa looks good, so far, but couldn't find instruction manual under skirt. I called & they said don't send anymore. You have to look online. I have bad reception in area, so I don't have a computer & it's hard scrolling on your phone in sunlight. I called customer service & wanted a copy sent to me, but was told I needed to go to Staples to have printed off. I don't feel like I should have to spend money for this after buying a $12,000+ spa. The directions offline don't make sense because nothing matches up to my spa panel. Just gives general directions. After 2 weeks still can't use. If, I had known there were no local help for spa set up, I would never have bought.

Delivery was late in the afternoon of foreman’s last day. He explained the need for the chemicals for setup as I anticipated but gave no other info. He explained that all the rest was available through the QR code which is not senior friendly. After our electrical setup was completed, we filled the spa and did the chems as instructed. When checking out the setup, my daughter noted that the second pump jets were not functioning. Since it was the w/e she looked up on the internet and it suggested the problem might be an air bubble. We attempted to resolve the problem without success. I told her not to do anything else but I would send a message re.. problem before leaving town. Hopefully this situation can be corrected soon.

My experience has been less than ideal. I bought my spa at a Hot Tub Expo, which was my first mistake. I was buying the floor model, which I looked over and was working perfectly and looked perfect. A few days later, the delivery person called to say the unit I was supposed to get had scratches and they switched it out for a different one, which was a different color. I wasn't thrilled about the switch, but agreed to it. I had it up and running a day later once the electrician came. A users manual on exactly how to operate the unit would have been nice, but I googled videos and looked at the online manual to figure it out. The new dial display was not operating as smoothly as the floor model, the outside lights were not working, and I had issues getting the Gecko wifi module to work. Plus, it was not delivered with the steps, a jet was broken and floating around the spa. The steps were delivered within a week.

I called customer service for the broken jet, requested a technician to fix the lights, and said the dial did not seem to be working properly. The tech came out to replace the lights, which were indeed not working. He said the dial seemed to be working fine, even though he noticed it had a lagging response time, and said if it was really broken it wouldn't work at all. The wifi module was also working the day he was here, so nothing to do there. So, over the next 6 months of owning the unit, we had many issues where we couldn't turn the dial at all, it would get lines through it, it wouldn't respond, until finally one day it wouldn't light up at all. So, I called the service line and was told there is usually a $200 service charge, but they would waive it this time. Sure enough, the dial needed to be replaced. It works so much better and it really was broken from the time of purchase.

Luckily, I didn't pay a service charge or I would be even more upset. He also replaced the wifi module, which only worked intermittently. I still need to figure out how to reset it up, since I don't have the instructions. Overall, I have felt like I got a unit that was a lemon and just hope that is the last of the problems with this brand new unit. I wish I would have purchased through a local vendor, so I don't wait weeks for service and would hopefully have gotten better customer service than I am currently experiencing. I also wish I wouldn't have purchased this new model until the kinks were worked out, since clearly there are kinks that still need to be worked out. Overall, I would not recommend this spa at this time and definitely not the vendor I purchased it from.

I had a pleasant experience with Master Spas. However, I wasn't clear on the financing part of it. I didn't know there would be a third-party finance. The rep said it, but I didn't understand it would be like a credit card to a third-party. It's on the contract. But it's all good. I liked the size, also just checking out the specs. I did an independent research to see what spa would be the best that would be the easiest to maintain and to be used in the commercial environment, and whereas different people might handle it, no one would mess it up. It's a good thing. I would recommend it.

We wanted something that was hot that we could sit in. We like the Master Spas tub better than what we had. Master Spas dropped it and set it up. It was perfect. I'd buy again. Go for it. The only issue was, it was a little cryptic on the warranty stuff. We bought it in one state. We live right over the border. They said, “Any warranties would be covered, no problem.” We had a warranty issue right off the bat. They said, “It's not covered because you're out of our service area.” We said, “Are you kidding me?”

I fought it, and they ended up coming back and paying for the whole thing. The first response was, “Sorry. We’ll pay for the part that went out, but you'll have to pay for the labor for the service tech to go out there,” which was a two and a half hour drive for the service tech could get there. It would be 300 bucks for him to come replace this part. I said, “Nah, bullshit.” It was three months old. Master Spas said it was covered but now it's not. They came back and said, “No, we'll take care of it for you.” So, it was good.

I like that the parts of Master Spas are American-made. My experience with them was very painless and easy. They had people whom they hired to do the installation, and everything went smoothly. After they set it up and we had it filled up, the owner came and reviewed the whole thing with us and set up our apps on our phones, and they registered the unit for us.

I like the accessibility that I can just go outside and exercise anytime I like. I would recommend Master Spas. However, I think there should be a better design for a staircase to get in it because it's about four feet tall, the one that we purchased, and not everybody is going to have a deck readily available to put it in or in the ground. I would recommend, for manufacturing purposes, somehow for them to have the staircase connect to the unit. The only thing difficult was when you have to open and close the heavy spa part. The folding cover is awkward and cumbersome for us because we're short and we have to use a ladder. And we're working on getting what we need made, but we don't have that made yet. But other than that, it's the best thing we've ever bought.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for recommending Master Spas. We’re thrilled to hear that installation went smoothly and that you’re enjoying your spa.
We also appreciate your thoughts on the staircase and cover design. Since the outside steps are not manufactured by Master Spas and are provided as dealer‑selected accessories, we understand why they may not feel like a seamless match. It’s helpful feedback, and we’ll continue keeping an eye on new step options as more become available. Covers can also vary depending on the style and whether you’re using a cover lifter. If you think a lifter might make things easier, your dealer can walk you through the options that fit your model.

We went with Master Spas. They had really good reviews and I did a lot of Google research that said Master Spas were one of the best manufacturers. The layout where the spa is in the backyard, the interior of the spa and the way the seats were faced the way that we wanted. So, the layout and design of the spa fit the layout and design of our backyard. That was a factor, too, in choosing them.

The customer service reps from Master Spas were really good. They're always available and very prompt. We have not used the spa yet. I got the 7.2 Twilight series. It's got the reclining seat in it. I like that it has five different other seating arrangements with different jets in it. The spa provides good relaxation and massage for my sore muscles. I can use it two or three times a day whenever I feel like using it and I don't have to go to my gym or my club to wait in line or hope it's working.

The only thing is I'm having issues and Master Spas is supposed to sort it out. They've replaced the circuit board once and the control once and it's still malfunctioning. It won't keep time. Master Spas had the spa, the right size and the right price of what we were looking for at that time. Also, Ozone was important to me. One thing that's not working right on it is one valve that broke. One PVC valve that probably needs to be replaced if I can find the right part.

The spa is great. We love it but we've had a little bit of issues getting our salt. We have the salt system. It works, but it's not showing that we are producing any free chlorine and I haven't had a chance to call Master Spas and check on it. We've had a little bit of issues getting the chemicals right. It's probably not necessarily the spa's fault, but the salt system could have something to do with that. We don't have any other issues other than that. I feel like I could have saved myself some hassle on the back end if I would have known some of the questions to ask. They say, "Oh, it's easy. You just put salt in the thing or whatever." Other than them hooking it up and making sure the app that we downloaded works, I feel like we were on our own when it came to getting that set up. So, I would definitely ask questions about that if people decided to do salt system and didn't know about the salt system very much.

I wanted a spa and I heard about Master Spas from a friend. I got the Master Spas Therapy and it relaxes me. I use it about three times a week. I like lying on the lounge, but the panels are difficult to work with. You have to take them off to get into the area you need to get into. They pop in and out, and it can be hard to get them back in the right place. But my experience with Master Spas has been good so far and people should go for it and enjoy the product.

Master Spas had the hot tub that we liked. They were the ones that owned it. Their salespeople were great. They were very personable and all-around nice guys. The guy who owned that spa was getting food for everyone else. The other guy helped us out and gave us all the information on it. As far as installation, they set it up for us. We scheduled a date for them to come and deliver it, which was two weeks from our purchase date. We could only have it delivered on a Monday or a Sunday because of our work schedules.

It was two weeks from then and there were four guys that came and delivered it and they were great. They introduced themselves. We figured out a plan because they had to get it to the backyard. They got it in with no problem. They showed my husband how to properly fill it. They showed us everything as far as the chemicals go and where to put the water, and answered any questions that we had. They showed us all the buttons and showed my husband how to go ahead and start filling it up. They didn't wait for it to be full because that takes hours.

I was able to contact one of the gentlemen at Master Spas in their Dunwoody location. He was very helpful. I had even spoken to him on the phone prior to the delivery just to get my bearings and make sure I had all the information. He told me exactly what to do, what to look out for if there were any issues, and he even said, "If you have any questions at all, please contact me." Their customer service has been wonderful.

I went to a location for my Michael Phelps Spa. Everything was perfect. One thing I don't like is the lay-down bed part of it. I'm a smaller person, so when I turn on the jets, it blows me all around. I can't use it. I would need something to hold on to, so it couldn’t blow me around. Other than that, I like all of the features.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your Michael Phelps Spa. We're pleased to hear that overall, your experience has been positive. Your insights do help us! One small offering tip we have experienced help some of our customers who experience this is a "water weight" - this is sold on amazon or many aquatic sporting stores. This item can sit in your lap and keep you from moving away when you increase the jet power.

My wife had both hips replaced. She was raised in Hawaii and loved swimming, so I bought a tub from Master Spas. It's 14 feet with four big jets in it, so people can swim against it. It's cool. My wife passed away last year with cancer, but the tub was really good for my wife and myself. It's low impact and really good exercise. I like it and use it a lot. Every other day, I go in there. I got the tub inside, so I don't have to worry about it getting beat up by the weather. I'd tell people to get the biggest one they can.

I went to look for a Jacuzzi and bought a Master Spas. It fits exactly where I needed it to fit and the size is perfect. It's a quality product and it's lasted so far very well but I have one downfall. It doesn't have an on and off switch and it needs to have one. I put it on the display and sometimes it comes back on by itself. Still, for the price and the quality, I would get another one. I highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience — we’re thrilled to hear the spa fits you perfectly! It’s wonderful that you’d choose a Master Spa again and feel confident recommending it.

We did want to mention one thing that might help clarify your spa does include a hold function in the settings menu, which acts as an on/off control for pausing operation when changing filters and other tasks If the spa is returning to display mode on its own, it may simply be exiting the hold mode after its built‑in timeout. If we can be of help maybe working with that control or setting your economy mode so the controls work exactly the way you want just contact us for help! (1-800-860-7727). Thank you again for the kind words — we’re glad you’re enjoying your spa and appreciate your honest feedback.

We saw a marketing campaign to go to the Sonoma County showgrounds, and they had discounted spa rates. When we got there, we realized the rates weren't that discounted as much as what Master Spas said in the marketing. We ended up paying $16,000 when for a similar type of spa, you can go to Costco and buy one for six grand. We purchased the spa and got locked into the contract, which we didn't read at the time. That's our fault. My wife was selling solar systems at the time, and we came up with a deal that he purchase solar from us, and we purchase the spa from the sales agent. That never eventuated. And he never ended up even looking at solar from us. So, we were duped in the sales part.

We had a bit of a problem with payment throughout. Master Spas held us to a contract that we signed, but we had some issues because we had our spa on hold. They ended up delivering the spa when we weren't ready to receive it. We ended up having to get the cheapest spa, as opposed to the one that had magnets in it. It has got an ozone machine, so, they say less chemicals, although I haven't seen that work correctly without less chemicals.

Thank you for taking the time to share an honest review. There’s a lot in your experience — both positive and frustrating — and we truly appreciate you laying it all out. You clearly put thought into choosing a spa. We hope with time the spa will prove it's value over another cheaper alternative. At the same time, we’re genuinely sorry for the challenges you faced during the sales process, contract expectations, and delivery timing. Feeling misled or rushed is never the experience we want for any customer. Dealerships that put on shows are their own business entities and we’ll be sharing it with the appropriate teams so we can continue improving transparency and communication. We're sorry to hear about ending up with a different model than you originally wanted, as well as the disappointment around the ozone system not reducing chemical use the way you expected. If you’d like, we can walk through water care adjustments or ozone system tips to help you get the most out of the setup you have. (1-800-860-7727 or customerservice@masterspas.com)
