Customer service has been very good. If we have any problems, they come out. The water softener has been fine. Kinetico has been good to us.
I have the whole Kinetico system plus reverse osmosis drinking water. I like it so far. The installers were very professional at what they did. They had it done in just a few hours.
The guy that we dealt with was a good salesman. But he doesn't come and clean my filters too often. Kinetico should show everybody how to clean their filters or offer to clean them. They shouldn't sell us new filters all the time if we don't need them. One of their guys showed me how to clean it and I cleaned them and got a couple of extras. My water has been fine as long as I don't let the salt run out, and the system doesn't use much salt. I really appreciate that. Kinetico was a little too expensive compared to others, but it's okay if I'm going to live here a long time.
They were very helpful and professional. They came when they said they would. We've since had them come back and adjust the settings because we have since gone on a county water system. They were very pleasant to deal with and have helped us since then. The system makes a huge difference.
Since getting the system, the water has been softened and it's slippery when you shower. Also, the drinker water for the coffee and ice cubes is fine. It's a good system and our local Kinetico company's very professional. We rent the house on VRBO and the people coming in there are enjoying the features that we purchased.
Kinetico does an amazing job because, without the system, everything turns orange and has an egg smell. With the system, our water feels great. I can most definitely tell when we're running low on salt. There's a huge difference in the quality of water. I'm happy with the product. Their service has also been great.
They've been very good at helping us with our filters, delivering salt, and being available when we have questions. But six months after we had our system put in, we found out that the techs didn't route it properly. And so, our hose bibbs were also filtered water and we went through stuff faster. We had our plumber redo the work that Kinetico did and let management know and told them how much the bill was. They gave us salt to pay for the plumbing. It was $180 worth of salt. That was nice because they didn't have to do that. It was nice that they were able to work out a deal with us.
Hi Julie,
Unfortunately, most homes hose bids are tied in to the plumbing after the main that comes in to the home. There is an additional cost of labor and materials for the installer to route the soft water around or after the hose bibs.
We are happy to read of the kindness your installer showed you.
Kinetico Customer Support
I'm completely satisfied with Kinetico. Since having it, I use the water to make my coffee in the home. The fellas that come out here have also been really nice.
The Kinetico sales guy explained the system well. The limited amount of salt that you'd have to use to take care of my problem, he guaranteed it. The water smelled like metal. I had a ton of iron in it. Now, I drink the water. One time, we had a freeze. One of the tanks split during the freeze outside. It was in a pump house type thing. I called Kinetico and they came down. We split the difference on the tank because it was expensive. They've been very good. I don't have them do salt delivery or service. But I know that if I call them, they're really quick to respond. I've recommended Kinetico.
We're perfectly satisfied with the system of Kinetico. The system has worked perfectly. However, it costs a fortune to get started, $4,000. As for the upkeep, we don’t do anything. Their rep, Clint, puts the salt in the vat and he does a good job.
Hi Earl,
We are glad to see you appreciate the investment you have made in to your water.
Kinetico Customer Support
We get a lot of follow-ups with Kinetico. I have to call when I want something, though. I was with Culligan before. Culligan would come and check the salt every now and then. This guy just calls me and asks me if I need any. Then I have to go check it and he brings it and drops it off at the house. But other than that, it’s okay.
The installers did a good job. The only issue I have is that we got a filter system on it and it should have been more permanent. But it's hanging off the side. When I try to turn the filter cartridges off to change the cartridge, all the connections spin so I'm constantly getting things back together. I also have to constantly putty things up so they don't leak.
Other than that, I'm satisfied with my system. The biggest thing is that it doesn't use electricity and it rejuvenates on utilization instead of being set to where it's got to be done every night. It doesn't use as much salt. It's also durable and it has made it through the winter. We had nothing freeze and I have it in a good-sized pump house and I keep it warm. But it's convenient and has far less maintenance. If I have a timing issue, it's simple to reset it myself. We have no smell, taste, or rust in our water. So it's doing what it's supposed to.
I've had four systems. I've moved around a bit, and every time I moved to a new house, I get a new system. I don't have to buy bottled water because I have the water filtration and the water softener/filter. I've had everything with Kinetico and they all have been very good. Their team also goes out of their way to help and they’re great.
Hi Susan!
Wow. Thanks so much for your brand loyalty!
We appreciate you!
Kinetico Customer Support
I love our Kinetico system and I love their service. They’re great. When we bought the house, we had very hard water. A lot of the plumbing fixtures were calcified. Our young children were getting rashes from the water. One of the big reasons we went with Kinetico was that it doesn't need to be powered by electricity. That was a big plus. All problems have been solved since Kinetico was installed. No issues with our kids anymore. Everything cleared up. It's better for our appliances too.
Kinetico is worth it. It's a lot better water quality. Their customer service was also good.
I reached out to Kinetico and told them that I was interested in getting some information on the product. They sent a rep out a couple of days later. The rep went over everything with me, and then I settled on the products that I wanted to buy. They had it installed within three weeks. I did a home water system for hard water, a water softener for the whole house. I also got a unit that removes all the chlorine from the city water for the whole house. I purchased a K5 water filtration system for drinking water in the kitchen sink.
It's been a great system and it does wonders for the city water that we get. The hard water stains have disappeared from everything. One of the things that I liked about it was that it's not electric. It's just mechanical. It seems like there's much less to break and I haven't had any issues with it. It costs a lot of money, but it's a one-time thing and I own it. So if I move, I can take it with me. It's one of the best things that I've purchased for the house. I've been really happy with it.
There were a couple of issues that popped up when I was changing filters on my K5 system that, for some reason, it wouldn't start working again. Every time there's ever been an issue or I needed to change something, they come right out and do it, and I don't even think they charged me for any of that stuff. The local dealer has been great to deal with.
We thought when they installed our Kinetico system, we would be rid of getting mold. But our toilet bowl gets rings. When we had the water checked, it was okay. So it's a matter of us doing what we are supposed to do. In terms of their service, they come out and are very prompt.
I purchased a water treatment system from Kinetico several years ago. When we got it installed, I just made a call then they came out within a couple of days and did a chemical check on the water. We talked about different systems that would fit our need, and my wife and I decided on what we wanted, and they came in and installed it relatively quickly. The system we have has an ion exchange, a water softener, and a resin filter. We can tell a difference in our water. We had iron in the water, and we're not getting a staining issue. My water was also fairly hard, and the softener has helped with that.
I just had service where Kinetico's techs had to clean the valves on one of the tanks. When I called for service, they were a couple of weeks out. They were busy. But the guy called, let me know he was coming and showed up on time. I was under the house with him while he was doing the stuff. He told me what he was doing, why he was doing it and the reasons for it and what he found. I'm satisfied with the service call.
The installation was easy and they took care of everything. I like the RO system because it purifies the water. But we're more disappointed in the water softener because with the previous electric brand we had, we could adjust the salt level so that the water could be softer. The Kinetico is just a one-size-fits-all. We wish that we had that ability.
For a water softener, go with our previous brand if you want water that is extremely soft. We wanted water that you could tell there was a noticeable difference when you got in the shower. To us, it just seemed like regular water now versus very soft water.
Installation went great, and I've had zero problems with Kinetico or the people. The system works awesome.
The reps were great. They were very helpful, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions, and they've come out and provided salt. With the system, we can definitely tell that there's not as much buildup on our appliances. And the taste, I drink water all the time, so I can tell salt going out. It tastes a lot better to me, and it's a lot better. We're pleased.
The techs and reps were all good and I liked them. When I call, they were super nice. When I paid my bill, they went online with it right when I sold my place. When I have an appointment, the techs always went in my house. They had my garage number thing and I trusted them. I had good service with Kinetico. But I moved from that house to another. Cancelling my service was easy.
Hi Gail, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're happy to hear it was positive. When you're ready to install a water treatment system in your new home, let us know. We're happy to help.
Thanks again,The Kinetico Team
Working with the team at Kinetico was a good experience. I have better tasting water, and overall better water. It was good service, and I'd recommend them.
The installers did a great job. They hooked up my refrigerator and all for me. My Kinetico is pretty good. It had a bit of rust but it's doing pretty well. It's better than the other system I had.
The reps are very generous when they come to the house. They've got very nice manners and they're very good. If I have any questions I want an answer to, they'll answer them for me. I'm very happy with my system too. I have it underneath the sink with the three filters, then outside I got the water softener and the ultra-blue light.
I would recommend Kinetico. We love it. I don't think there's anything that we don't like about it. Other than the size, we had to get huge tanks and they couldn't be put in the ground. We had to build a shed around them.
Hi Debra,
Yes, sometimes water supplies and water usage demand larger products. But, we are glad that it is performing to your and our satisfaction!
Kinetico Customer Support
They were very good. Pam was the person I contacted. She came out the very next day and tested our waters, showed us that it was hard. We went ahead and signed up. They installed it within the next week. They tested it and then they service it. They supply the salt for about the same that you can get with going to pick it up at Lowe's. Plus, I don't have to handle those big bags and pick them up and try to get them in there. It takes up very little space in my storage room. I'm very pleased with Kinetico.
The Kinetico system works. The best thing about them is that they don't require electrical regeneration for the salt. Our water would be a lot worse if we didn’t have one and I wouldn’t use it without one.
I tried Kinetico on an investment property that I had and it worked out fine. Then, five years ago, when I bought this place, I called them back and used them but I have not been real happy. I hoped the water would taste good but it doesn't. Also, there was black charcoal in the bottom of my ice maker and black rings around the toilet from the charcoal filter. They were here just two weeks ago and they replaced the filter. I'm hoping that this will work. But they were saying that they got a batch of faulty filters. The rep felt under duress to come up with answers that he didn't have and he was trying his best to answer our questions, but he really didn't know.

Kinetico Customer Support
I've had Kinetico for a long time. It seems to work all the time a lot. It meters the water, so you only treat. It doesn't regenerate, only when it needs to, not like a timing mechanism. It's efficient that way. The downside is some of the ports in the orifice are really small, so it’s sensitive to any grains of sand.
Kinetico's customer service has been great and the water is a lot better than it was. It's a lot clearer and there's no rust. Also, it's a lot easier for me because they come and put salt in it every two months. I don't have to worry about it.
I also have a Kinetico system at our other house. I purchased one recently and they did a very good job. If they could have gotten rid of COVID, it might have helped. But other than that, they serviced us very well. The system brought the pH within acceptable limits and the softness to a bearable standard.
We rented a system at first and a year or so later, we ended up deciding to buy the system. It was a smooth transition. Once we did it, the guy showed up with a new system within two days, swapped it out, and we were good to go. Since having Kinetico, we don't have as much iron, which was really noticeable before, and we're not getting stains in our sinks and stuff.
Our water's really bad. I was hoping that getting that water softener from Kinetico would make that go away. My husband said he sees a difference. To him, it's not as hard. But it still makes rings in the toilet. All the techs that have come up here have been very nice. But it's not convenient for me the way the scheduling is. That random email stuff doesn't work for me, ‘cause I’ll likely miss it. I was just looking for another way of communicating to get the schedule and have a more consistent schedule. Like, "We come out once every six months. Here, let's schedule this.” More routine, more professional life.

Our water is still slightly discolored and tastes like metal. We had an annual service check a few months ago and the technicians did some adjustments. They said there was iron in there. But it's still happening, like it's never fully fixed. It could be the severity of our water problem or it's not big enough for our household or it could be them.
Hi Nancy,
We would recommend a follow up. Kinetico's expectation is fresh, clean water from our products.

Kinetico Customer Support
We like the system. It's good. I put Kinetico in all the houses that I build. If anybody wants a water softener, I recommend Kinetico.
The rep knew the products and he did a good job presenting them. With the reverse osmosis system, the water is clear and has no taste. It's reassuring to know that the water we're drinking and cooking with is clean.
We love Kinetico. The sales guy was amazing. Absolutely the best demonstration I ever saw. We were sold, we got it. We're perfectly happy. We have no more grime all over our shower doors. It's perfect. The water's softer. It's also pleasant to take a shower. They're also totally reliable. We need the salt re-delivered, they come and do it. It's very easy to get ahold of them and have them come over.
Everything was smooth when I purchased Kinetico. The installation was terrific. It seemed to be a very knowledgeable plumber that was able to get the job done. It seemed to go very well. I have noticed a difference in the water. When people come to my house, they no longer say, “What's that bad smell?” Inside my toilet tank, it no longer looks like a science project growing in it. I highly recommend Kinetico.
With a whole house water system, Kinetico came out, did the presentation, and told me how much it would be. I went with them because it doesn't work off electricity. When I got a shower, it was softer.
I like Kinetico. It's my second system. I had it at my old house, got it here. If I move into another house, I'd get another one. The water tastes better when the filters are fresh.
We love the soft water with the Kinetico system. We got accustomed to that. I'm a heating and air conditioning contractor and an electrician so the quality of the machine means something to me. I live in Eastern North Carolina and the prettier the lot is, the closer to the flood elevation you are. So, water softeners that use electricity can't be in the flood elevation, but a Kinetico can because there's no electricity there. We love it. We have the reverse osmosis system in our house as well for our ice and drinking water and we're very pleased with that.
Also, their customer service has been good. Everything I've ever needed, they've taken care of. They have exceeded my expectations of how fast they can get to us.
Hi John,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Stay dry!

My decision to purchase Kinetico was based on energy consumption. It doesn't use electricity. It runs off your demand. So the more you use, the more it will regenerate. The less you use, the less it regenerates. I don’t have to worry about power outages, resetting times. Customer service has been good. The sales rep came out and checked the water and confirmed what we needed. Also confirmed what the hardness reading was so that they could do the setup on the system to make sure that it didn't consume more salt than it needed. The installation was easy. They set up an appointment with the installer within a couple of days.
It's been a good water system. I had some problems at first. The system wasn’t operating properly. I found out that the unit that would be installed was a discontinued model because they had problems with it. Once I went to the district manager, all that got resolved, and I got a new unit to replace the old one at no cost. Overall, I'm happy with it.
I like Kinetico. When I felt that the tank under the house wasn't big enough, they came back and fixed it. When I felt that there was a little bit of iron coming into the thing, they came back again and switched the system around at no charge. They've been a good company. With the system, my toilets are clean and at the back of the toilet where the water is being pumped into, there's no rust. I don't have to wipe it out every three days like I had to do before. And as long as I change my filters, which I do every four days to keep a clean filter in there, I don't have a problem with it. The water has been coming out clear. Plus, I bought a little water tester, and it always stays up into the 90s. It goes to 100 and I've never been under 96.
We like our Kinetico system. It's easy to operate and low maintenance. Other than changing the filter or putting salt in it, there's nothing you have to do. We’re on city water so it’s not that bad but the system cleans it up some.
I’m happy with Kinetico right now. It keeps my shower door from getting all clouded up with some minerals. The drinking water is perfect. We make coffee and tea with it. It’s absolutely perfect and trouble-free. I don’t do anything.
We got a water softener when Kinetico first came out. Then, we also got a reverse osmosis system. We now have the K5 reverse osmosis system, which is the newer one. The water softener is great because we don't have all the little gunk that collects from hard water around your faucets and on all of your appliances that use water. And with the reverse osmosis system, our drinking water tastes a lot better. I wouldn't want to drink water from the faucet anymore now that we have it. There's a lot of people in my neighborhood who do not have Kinetico and they're always complaining on social media about brown water. But Kinetico has got a great filter system out there and we don't have brown water. Only one time did we have brown water and that was because it was time for them to change the filters. After Kinetico came and changed them, it was clear again.
Hi Donna,
Great news! We are glad you are enjoying your water and products!
Kinetico Customer Support800.944.9283

We had a pretty good experience working with them. Everything went well during the installation.
Cost-wise, the Kinetico system is expensive but I’m okay with the outcome. We have a main water system and we also have a K5. When it's low on salt, I notice the difference. I replace the filters and add salt to maintain the system. When we had a problem with the K5 leaking, Kinetico replaced it but it took several trips out.
The installation was pretty quick. We definitely have cleaner water. I recommend Kinetico. Their system is better than what their competitors offer. And it’s also significantly cheaper.
I enjoy Kinetico for my laundry and bath but you have to watch the salt and having all that correct because, over the summer last year, I was drinking a ton of water from our under-the-counter water filter here at the sink and my mouth broke out. I don't know if it was the pH or something was off. So, we called Kinetico and had them come and change it. The people who installed the water filter came and put a new one in, but the pressure has been messed up since then and I've got to call them back about that. But other than that, it's wonderful. The installers were good and knew everything about all of it and told me what to do. The guy said it may need some readjusting but I haven't called him back to get him back out here for the pressure part. Because if the pressure part could work out, then we'd be cooking.
Thank God we have the water filter for our bathtub. My children take baths every night and we were taking baths in orange water when we first moved in. So, that has gotten better. But I wish that the under-the-counter water filter was better so I could drink it and feel comfortable drinking it. Since then, I haven't been drinking out of it. I drink bottled water.

Kinetico Customer Support Team
The rep was very friendly. We went with the osmosis system and the one that does the whole house. The Kinetico has taken the rust out of our water and the osmosis system has made it where we could drink it.
I'm happy with the Kinetico system. It's lived up to what I expected from it. It hasn't been extremely expensive. There's a carbon tank that I've had replaced three times. To change out the tank is 200 bucks. We've had the system for five years and it's cost 600 bucks in maintenance which is not a lot in the big picture. Customer service has been great. Whoever I've called has been very responsive. I recommend the Kinetico.
The system is good and quiet. Unless you're next to it, you don't hear the water run. It's not a cheap unit. But it's an investment. There are many other cheaper units out there made by some of their competitors but Kinetico has been good to me. I could go to the place and get the filters, and I can go to Home Depot or Lowe's or the hardware to get my salt. So everything just tied into where I live and made it convenient. The only inconvenient thing is the price, but it's all paid for now.
We have had your under the sink unit for some time. May 2021 replaced filters, paid $135 for them. Sept 2021 no pressure so called to get someone out to look at unit, the tech said bad filters and replaced. Now feb 2022 no pressure again. My mom went to buy filters and they told her they were $150 (She is deaf, so did not hear fully) so when she got them home, I took receipt out of bag and it showed $217. So I called and they stated the filters are now $199 (WHICH IS **, I understand a 10% but almost a 50% that is ROBBERY). So I told her to take them back. She is on a LIMITED income. They stated NO refunds. The filters were NOT opened. NOWHERE IN THE office does it say NO REFUNDS! NOWHERE on receipt does it say NO REFUNDS. Even a grocery store will allow you to return groceries.
Hi Aaron,

Kinetico Customer Support
The Kinetico system failed, and there was a leak. There was water that flooded the kitchen floor. Then it went through the ceiling and damaged the ceiling, the rug as well as a piece of furniture. Eventually, Kinetico paid for the repairs, but it took quite a bit of time to get somebody to tear out the ceiling and then dry everything out, to rip the carpeting out. The whole floor was carpeted. They took quite a while to take care of it. But eventually, it all was replaced and Kinetico replaced the equipment.
Hi Donald,
We are sorry for this experience. We are glad it was taken care of. We wish you many good years of great water to assist in regaining your confidence to our brand.
Kinetico Customer Support
We had very hard water and it was killing our appliances and pipes. We have a water softener and we have a drinking water system from Kinetico. This is our second Kinetico softener. The person that installed this one was great. I had no doubts that he knew what he was doing, and he didn't pressure us for anything. He just gave us information, let us make our decisions, worked with the situation we had to work with, and did it well. Kinetico is everything we could have asked for. Our water doesn't feel slippery like you still didn't get the soap off. Everything is easier. Some water softeners feel so slick that you don't know if you ever got the soap out. Kinetico is not like that. Everything feels good.
Having glued in numerous places that were known for major water problems, the number one thing when I moved into this house was to get a whole house water filtration system. After interviewing any of the companies that sold this equipment in my area and could install it in a reasonable amount of time, Kinetico came out number one. The person who was selling the system for Kinetico was an excellent salesman. He came to the house right away. He brought me a taste of a filtered water, and it was delicious. But after that, I had a lot of problems getting whoever was the local guy that was installing to show up and do what they were supposed to do. I had to make a lot of phone calls to finally get to the guy who owned the franchise.
I love the taste of the water with the Kinetico system. My refrigerator keeps yelling at me that I need to switch the filter, but I don't need to switch the filter because the water that's coming in is already filtered by Kinetico. I don't have to be suckered into buying a $65 filter from GE, which I like. I would wholeheartedly tell anybody to buy this system. It is efficient and effective. The water tastes great and it turns out to be the cheapest.
Since having Kinetico, I've noticed a difference in my hair. It was dull and didn't feel clean when we had hard water. Then we've also noticed that there were fewer buildups on grime on our faucet. We had to replace some of those quickly because there was so much rust and calcification on it. The only thing that we ran into was after the people came and installed the drain for it, they had to come back because it was leaking. But when my husband called them, they were phenomenal. A manager even came out and looked at everything and said that it was done improperly and they fixed it right away. We were definitely very pleased and we've recommended several people in our neighborhood.
Thanks for this note Leia. Here's wishing you many years of great water.
Kinetico does everything. To maintain the system, I just call them and they come fix it. They come and bill when it's time for it. They’ve been great.
In hindsight, the sales rep was a liar. But other than that, he was very good. He promised a bunch of things that come to find out, weren't true, like no interest for five years. I called Kinetico and they said that the rep had been fired and that was something that they could not honor or that he shouldn't have promised. In the meantime, the company who the financial part is through was calling me. So I was going back and forth. I didn't make payment and they reported it to my credit company. My credit score has since dropped 80 points, even though I am current which is horrible. But the installation was great and the water quality is good. We love the filtration part for the drinking water. Also, my hair and skin seem to be better. My son's eczema has also significantly improved.
The cartridges don't last as long as I wish they would. So regular upkeep is more than what I anticipated.
We've had some renovations done to our master bathroom. Our city's municipal water system has a lot of scale and a lot of residue. Over time, it really tarnishes all our fixtures. It's not the best water in the world. We've thought about getting a water system that would purify or soften the water to help minimize any tarnish on our new shower and new bathroom. We talked to one of the reps of Kinetico and he fixed us up with a quote. Came out to our house and saw what we had, tested the water.
Our Kinetico works great. We're very happy with it. We noticed obvious differences. But we knew that that was going to be the case because we've had better water before in our other residence. We knew what to expect and we've been very satisfied. The system is working fine. It doesn't use much salt. I haven't had to refill it but twice since we've owned it. I just think sometimes maybe the salt’s not dropping down into the tank like it should that it's almost bridging.
I have two systems through Kinetico and I'm pleased with my product in both of my beach houses. My water is not leaving marks on my toilets or bathtubs or showers, and we have great drinking water. Kinetico is a great company. They maintain our salt. I trust them and I'd recommend them to anyone who's looking at water systems here in our area.
We had some issues with our brand new well water and so we were looking for a system to help soften it up and do whatever it does. Once we made the decision to go with Kinetico, the installation was pretty fast. The crew came out and got everything taken care of. Then every year they take a sample and test it to make sure everything is still good. The last one that they did was fine.
We've been very satisfied with Kinetico. It’s good and it works for us.
The installation was great and it’s like night and day compared to my city water since I've had the system. My water tastes like spring water.
Great news Nick! Enjoy!
The installation went well and quick. The team who did it was excellent.
The Kinetico rep who did a presentation was a very nice, young man and he was very thorough. Also, the installation team was fantastic. Everything was great. We had hard water before so we were getting hard water stains on everything and now, we don't.
The guy who came out and looked at our system did a really nice job of selling Kinetico. Also, they had a good local group that installed and serviced everything very closely and I thought the design of the system made sense. Prior to getting it, we had a lot of red buildup around the basins and stuff like that and now, that's been completely taken care of. And their customer service has been excellent. Our main water pump went out and the service team from Kinetico did a great job of fixing it, replacing parts, and doing all the stuff that needed to get done very quickly.
I've always had problems with the iron in our water. Now that I’m using the softener, I don’t get near the discoloration in the showers and in the sinks. In maintaining the system, I just put in 120 pounds of salt every three weeks and make sure the timer is right. I change it when it changes to daylight savings time so it’s cycling while we’re sleeping. I’m happy with Kinetico. They might want to have somebody come out and check it to make sure that reverse osmosis is doing its thing because that services our ice machine and drinking water.
Kinetico got a better product so I purchased their whole water system and it's been great.
There's a sponge that when it gets wet, it stops working. So, just having an access of a supply of that is necessary. Also, I wish Kinetco gave a larger unit to put in the garage. And the add the mineral, so you can get the alkaline water, would be also an improvement for my household. Other than that, I like Kinetico. Having the assurance that it is safe to drink makes it a lot better. Now that we have the Kinetico, it gives us a little safety precaution that the water is going through the filtration system to clean up some of those minerals, some other deposits, those ones that were toxic.
I set up both my Kinetico systems on my own. I've had the local guys come out and repair it when needed, and everything's been fine. I've noticed a considerable difference in the quality and taste of my water. But if you don't have a friend that owns a Kinetico, it’s very, very expensive. I don't know that I would buy one without him, based upon cost compared to everybody else who can do the same thing for half the price.
Customer service was pretty good. A guy named Jeremy came by, tested my water at the house, and showed us his product. They did what they said and I like the system.
I've had trouble with Kinetico and their reps. Last year, they told me I needed something, and it ended up being almost $1,000, but my water still hasn't changed. I get this black stuff in my toilet that I have to take a pumice stone to get off. I got all this equipment on the side of the house, and Kinetico couldn't tell me anything. They said it's the city water. But my neighbors and I are all on the same water. Why do I have all this equipment on the side of the house? What I have out there is not helping me. I would never use Kinetico again. They just keep trying to sell me stuff. I've put out $4,000 for this thing and it's not worth a toot.
I have Kinetico in both my Florida and Pennsylvania homes. Installation was great, and the water tastes good. There’s a big difference between public water and this water. It’s clean water.
My water was hard and I remember having the Kinetico system before on another house. It seemed to correct my water problem now. Overall, I like that Kinetico offers the service where the guy comes out and fixes the lid off.
Since having Kinetico installed, the water has improved and the hydrogen sulfide smell is gone. But I've had two repairs done to it that have cost me a significant amount of money and I'm not happy. I'd love somebody to follow up because spending $400 to repair a system that's just over two years old is really disappointing.
When I had Kinetico, my water didn't smell as much as the regular water. The system is good.
I haven't had any trouble with Kinetico. It's been good so far.
I had a good experience. The team showed up when they were supposed to and they got out quickly. So, I was happy. Water has been fine since I've had the system.
Thanks Greg!
The people at Kinetico are all right. Joe is a pretty cool guy. But it seems like every time I order something for the system, it's always wrong. Other than that, it's a good product and I'm happy with it.
My water had a funky smell and it was doing something to my water heater. When they pulled the rod out, they could see all kinds of stuff caked on it. With the Kinetico, I don't notice a big difference in the water. I don't smell anything but I still get the pink thing around the showers. But the system is okay. All it does is soften the water.
The team at Kinetico is great and they’re very nice. We couldn’t stand the water down here in Marshallberg, North Carolina and Kinetico changed it completely.
Every year we have a person come in and put new filters in our system, check it out and make sure it's okay. We're very satisfied with the Kinetico. The system is as good as any other.
I had an issue with pressure for the first year where it was not good. My water guy looked at it and the system was plumbed wrong. The installers had the wrong-sized pipes, which I was very upset with. I got Kinetico to check it out and they told me they will give me a quote to repair it. Then, they had to figure out who's gonna pay for it because their technician installed it and he did it wrong. They called me back shortly later and said there will be no charge. They came to fix it properly and the issue was resolved. It was a major issue and they made it right. Also, customer service is good. I had some filters that were paid for that I forgot about. I went to get new filters and their rep gave me extra filters to cover that. That was cool.
The installers went in quick, but I wasn't too impressed. The local company that has this territory sent out a technician who wasn't that experienced and it was the first time. The supervisor had another job to do, so he had to leave this guy. This guy installed the Kinetico unit, and it didn't operate correctly for two years until I called for a maintenance appointment. At that point, they informed me that this and that was wrong with it, and I said, "Well, that was from the original install." They said, "Oh, no, wouldn't have happened." I said, "Oh, yes, it did," then I told them, "You had a guy here that wasn't really experienced doing it and the supervisor had to leave." They said, "Too bad, you got to pay for it. We're not gonna cover it."
I spent $5,000 and got crummy service afterwards. In fact, they penalize me now. They say, "Well, you have to sign up for our annual maintenance contract," and I go, "No, I don't." They said, "Well, if you don't, it's gonna cost you even more if we have to ever come out. It's gonna be like $225 just to come out." I'm going, "Goodbye." I'm just over it. I still have a unit, which is not working that well. The water tastes terrible, so I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna do about it right now. There's only one company in the area and I'm not gonna go back to those people, because they were bordering on rude to totally not customer-oriented and not very helpful.
Hello Ken,
Most installers offer a 1 year service warranty. This is plenty of time to correct any possible installation errors.
We'll follow up with your installer to learn what they found at the service appointment and will touch back with you as is appropriate.
Kinetico Customer Support.
Ken, the dealer responds that they were contacted 2 years and 3 months after the installation for service. They billed $125 for a $200 call.
Please feel free to contact your dealer or Kinetico Customer Support at 800.944.9283 or customersupport@kinetico.com with any additional concerns.
Florida has the hardest water. When I take a shower, I feel like I need another shower. However, when I'm done taking a shower with the water filtration system, I still feel like I'm soapy and my skin feels really smooth. But in reality, I'm just clean. Kinetico uses pressure to power the system, whereas most systems use electric.
We set an appointment and the Kinetico reps showed up on time. I'm a repeat customer and I already knew what I wanted and didn't ask for a presentation. I got a a whole house water conditioner, and if I moved again, I'll use Kinetico in my next house.
We liked the ease of the installation, the information that we were given at the time of installation, and how everything worked, and how to maintain the system in between services. My water was crunchy before, and after the system, it was no longer crunchy. Kinetico is the best.
Before, the water smelled and tasted pretty bad. But now with Kinetico, it's fine. I like it. Every couple of months, I check and throw a bag of salt in when it needs it. I highly recommend it. It's good.
Customer service is very good, and our water softening system overall improves using the water. It's softer, especially when you shower.
When we lived in Cleveland, we had well water. We had Kinetico on our sink and we loved it. Down here, the water tastes like crap so we decided to get it. They appreciated us for being repeat customers. Everything was this and that and they put the system in. They come once a year to change the filters. They're a great company and from Newbury, Ohio, which is a suburb away from where I lived.
I live in Florida where we can be hurricane-prone sometimes, and because of the physics, Kinetico is a system that is 100% reliable. My first unit was installed in 1989 and I had that until 2019. The local distributor said I could have the tank rebuilt and it’d still function, but after 30 years, rather than just put a band-aid on something, I replaced it with a new system. It was installed two years ago and everything went smoothly.
Great testimony John. That you for your brand loyalty.
My wife loves our Kinetico system. We got a service contract with them. Everything they say they do, they do.
Kinetico has always been responsive to us. Also, it’s a non-electrical softener unit that is gentle on the amount of salt it uses, and it's on demand. I like all of that. I've had several other water softeners in other houses, and I like Kinetico the best. We were remodeling and they very freely came back and put the RO system in at a much later time. I have it on my refrigerator so that my ice and the water we drink and cook with comes out of the refrigerator. It’s a single source, which is handier for us. Florida water stinks, but my water has no odor and has much better taste.
The installer was fantastic. It was a professional job. Maintaining the system is simple and intuitive. The Kinetico is all great.
I took my water in a couple of times even way before I even made the purchase and my interactions with the reps were always outstanding. The main guy that ran the place was the one who came out and did the testing. I used to have a lot of iron in my water, and now there's no iron.
We had a Kinetico at our home in Lakeland, Florida for the last four and a half years. We lived it. When we moved up, my husband decided he wanted to have that as well. We got one of the last systems similar to the one we had in Lakeland and we were very happy with it. We were fortunate and Kinetico got our system installed. Everything happened the way it was supposed to. The tech showed me how to do the salt maintenance which is what we like about the system, especially being in the oceanfront and constantly having weather affect equipment. We're doing much better. The water is not showing sheeting and hard water spots.
I've had Kinetico before at a farm back in Ohio, and we always liked it, so I went with it here. The reps came and gave me the information I needed, let me choose what I wanted, and they worked with me, because I was doing some other work, about putting it in at a later date. Everything worked out great.
As soon as I called, Kinetico was sending somebody else with more knowledge about the system. That tech came the same day and fixed the problem. So, I was happy with that. With the Kinetico, the water is clearer than it used to be. I also don't have the iron stain problem anymore. But it still has an eggshell smell.
We've had issues with some seals that have been replaced. I had to get service done on the Kinetico because of those reasons. It's worked out really well so I'm doing fine. I appreciate the system. My water has a gel in it when it sits in the toilet and things that I have to clean. But that's not the fault of Kinetico. It's probably the fault of the quality of the water that's coming in. I’ve held on to Kinetico ever since I've lived here and I would recommend them to anybody who needed a water softener.
Hi Charles,
Thanks for sharing your experience and the willingness to recommend the brand. You are correct that the 'gel' is likely from the water and not the softener. This can be removed but would require another product. Your area Kinetico provider can assist should you wish to have it looked at.
The delivery was quick. The day I called, Kinetico scheduled the installation then the guy came and did a good install. He buried the pipes halfway through on the ground. The only thing is he didn't put straight pipes. He put too many elbows and a lot of pressure into the house is lost. Everything else is perfect. My water is a little softer from before, so I continue using it.
I love Kinetico's ad. Their TV ad did more to help them than anything else. I go to the shop on Bonita Beach Road. They're accommodating. But they should be more proactive. I'm very pleased with the decision to have Kinetico's water system implemented. After it was implemented, the water has a different feel to it. It's almost like you get smoother. The water doesn't have a smell. The system is simple to maintain. The one thing that is challenging is it forces the consumer to constantly open up the bucket to see what your salt level is. I wish there was a way to have a more visible indicator.
I used to have the Sears electric water softener. It lasts six years then the circuit boards will go bad. I wanted one that didn't have electric and Kinetico offered one that ran off nonelectric, which saves me money in part. My Kinetico water softener was installed five and a half years ago. It took 20 minutes and it was good. Now, a guy comes out once a year, services my water softener, and he's excellent. I have to pay to get a deal though.
Our experience with the rep who came out was great. I purchased the water filter and the one for underneath the sink. My girlfriend can taste the difference in waters, and our water tastes a lot better now.
I was having a lot of skin irritation, allergies and breakout, so I was looking for a water system for the house, and I found Kinetico online. I read the reviews. When they came to the house, the demonstration was pretty good. So, I was happy and I'm still happy with them. The water tastes way better. With the food, it’s way better. The huge difference is with the coffee, the skin and the shower. Even my hair has a nice improvement.
I had the reverse osmosis system installed and the installation was good. Also, the water is softer since.
Hi Joe,
Great news! Thanks for sharing!
Kinetico Customer Support
The main reasons why I went with Kinetico was because of the lady at my back spoke highly of them and they did not use chlorine in their system. They use peroxide. I wanted that I can drink the water and it would take everything else. A couple of years ago when it was brought up to me, there was a gold, a silver, and a platinum. I did the middle of the road one, the silver one.
I called and set up an appointment, and the reps came over quickly. They tested the water, and I told them I wanted to be able to use bleach in my laundry and I didn't want yellowing of my clothes. They were accommodating. If I have a problem or a question, if I need the filters changed out or something, they get to me. They're from Okeechobee, and I'm in Lake Placid, which is an hour away. They service my area once or twice a week. There's no more smell, I can use different detergents in my water, and my clothes don't turn yellow like it did with Culligan. My toilets are cleaner, and the things that I cleaned in the house are cleaner.
The taste of my water has vastly improved. We drink it right out of the faucet now. Before, my wife said when she washed her hair, it turned to straw. The system has improved the water substantially though it hasn't cured my wife's complaints 100%.
They really did a great job. The Kinetico system works well. But it's a little bit big, takes up almost the whole underneath your sink.
Kinetico is expensive. But customer service is okay and the system performs well. The filter I have lasts a long time.
I've had Kinetico for a while and it's fine. It's just that the quality of water is not the same as when the system was new.
The installation went well. The water softener is great. I love it.
I had a Kinetico water conditioner installed under the sink. Since it's been put in, the water is soft. It's much clearer. It kind of feels like you're rinsing the soap off your hands. Kinetico is awesome. Get it. My sales guy was very nice. The installation was smooth sailing. The installer was very nice, too. He came out the first time and thought it was just to check everything. He didn't know I needed the product under the sink hooked up.
Working with their team was fine. The installation was not perfect but it was okay. The issue was made right by another tech coming out.
I wouldn't be without the Kinetico system. I love it, and I love the soft and silky water. Overall, Kinetico has been very good to me. In fact, I moved and they moved my unit with me.
I've called them a couple of times to bring some salt for me. Their customer service was very good and fast. I've never had any problems with their system. The stinky ants keep getting in there and shorting it out, but that's fixable.
Customer service has been perfect. My salesman John checked on some things. The installers put everything in and went smooth as glass. It's been great since we've had our Kinetico. This is something that I wouldn't be afraid of at all to buy again.
Our water is so horribly out of bounds. It's embarrassing. It's 3 parts per million chlorine coming out of the tap because that's what the town thinks it's supposed to be. We got the water softener and the under-sink purification system from Kinetico and we noticed a difference since using the system. The water doesn't have that taste.
Before my Kinetico went out, it was doing all right. We had sulfur water with a bad odor. We put the system in and it's cleared up. I can drink my water and take a bath without any odor. I had problems with the water company and Foundation Finance took care of it for me. But my water is okay now.
Since using Kinetico, the water has been good. The water has no taste. No chlorine.
Hello Juan,
We are happy that you are happy!
Happy New Year!
The sales guy wasn't like a sales guy at all. He was really nice and he gave me his number. I had an issue later on and he routed me to the proper department. The group at Palm Beach helped me with the installation of the new filter system. The installers were very nice people. My only gripe was that after we installed our system, there was a better one that came out and we would have to pay to upgrade. I want to see a smaller tank, but more importantly, it filters out even more of the fluoride and other harmful stuff. So it's something that we're looking to upgrade. I wish I waited a couple more months to buy the better system, but that's just something we’re looking into.
The water softener side on the outside, till this day, I don't really know what to do with it, or what's good, or how to feel if it's good. If there was a check-in physically, or even a video check-in where someone can just look at the system through my phone, that'll be nice to have in the future. Other than that, we drink from the filtration system and the water is definitely much better. I'm trying to convince my parents to buy a Kinetico.
The water is very soft since having the system of Kinetico installed. Their reps were also very good, friendly and kind. They're a good company.
I've had the same system that I bought prior to 1991 and it's still working today. Because of that, I got the purifying system that goes on the sink as we live near a landfill and we're on well. I also got the reverse osmosis system in the house. The water tastes fantastic. I have a son who, when he drinks the water out of the tap from the purifier under the sink, it's good and it helps him if he drinks to tap water. The water has less digestive problems for him. Customer service has been excellent.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us Bonnie! We are thrilled to hear your water system is still running strong after so many years. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know. You can reach our support team at 800.944.9283 or customersupport@kinetico.com.
Thanks again,
The Kinetico Team
Our water tasted and smelled funky and very sulfury. With the system, the smell was gone from the water. However, customer service was non-existent. We had a problem at the beginning. We had the system put in in June and we asked for certain things to be done when we had the installation. I wasn't happy with where the techs put the piping and how they did the install. They just cut out the cabinets and put the system in.
Also, we had a water problem. They didn't close off the cap behind the refrigerator and it dripped. By October we needed to have all our floors replaced because that damaged all the floors. It took several months for the leak to be rectified. The system was very expensive too at $5,500. For that money, we weren't happy with the way it was installed. It was a little shoddy. Other than that, the product works and it really helps. It's great as far as what it does. There are other products out there though that are less expensive.
We got a softener and a thing under the sink that oxidates the water. I like that I have well water with an artesian well mineral taste but it's filtered. I had one slight issue when I first got my equipment and they came right out and fixed it. There was a malfunction and they replaced the whole thing. Also, they stay in touch with us and they call us from time to time, checking on us if we're needing salt or filters. They keep us on a call list.
The installation went okay. The water has been okay since.
I've noticed the softness of the water and the chlorine out of it since having the system. My ice cubes are pure and don't have any white floating stuff in them. It's a little costly on the maintenance, but I want my soft water so I gotta pay for it.
The Kinetico rep was awesome. Since having it installed, I don’t smell chlorine when I’m showering anymore, which is great. The drinking water is a lot better, too. If you live in Florida, it's definitely a plus, and in other places too. If we ever move again, I would definitely get it installed again.
Thanks for sharing your experience Brad!
Kinetico Customer Support
They set up the system and they check it once a year to make sure everything was okay. They do everything they're supposed to do and do it timely. They've always been very Johnny-on-the-spot and very professional. A lot of times, when it's time to check on it, the rep would tell me I don't have to be there. My system is outside and he can check it and not bother me at all. Also, he'd leave me some salt. That’s the way it’s always been. I add salt to it on a regular basis and it's always running fine.
I had to take the system out because the water was so bad, I couldn't even drink it. It was like sulfur water and I've never had that since I moved here. The rep said he would flush the system out but it was no better. He said I have to give it time but I couldn't drink it and I had to boil it before I could even cook with it. It smelled so bad. Brushing my teeth was terrible, too. I started buying bottled water at that time. But once Kinetico got their money, they didn't seem to care whether I was happy or not happy. They just put me off. Nobody would come and see about it because they just installed it and it was working fine and I had to give it time for the water to get better. I paid $4,000 for that system and it was the sorriest system of the four systems I've had. I would never use them again and I would never recommend them. If anybody asked me, I'd tell them to do anything but Kinetico.
I liked their product. It seems good. I had a good experience with them. The installation went well. The water quality is much better now.
I chose the rep over three other companies. He was the most honest and forthcoming. He did not present himself as a salesman but as someone trying to give someone knowledge to make a good decision. Having Kinetico's Sulfur Guard installed, the water quality is perfect. I've had it for three years, and the only thing I've had to do is fill it up. The only issue that I have is the water is too soft but there's no way to fix that.
I had a Kinetico system that I acquired back in 1985 that had finally run its course of life and it needed to be replaced because it was 30 years old. I elected to stay with them because of the longevity and good performance of the previous system. The rep who came out was very professional and he was a nice and friendly guy. The new system takes up a lot less space and uses a lot less salt.
The installation of our Kinetico was fine. The system filters out any bad things in the water so my kids can drink safe water. It's a good purchase.
We like the system. I had another home in Florida, down in Melbourne, and I could tell the difference in the taste of the water. Every six months, they call and come to do maintenance.
I got a sulfur buster and a water softener from Kinetico. They were easy and pleasant people to work with. Now, my water doesn't stink and it's not leaving stains on anything in my house. The softener changes the taste a little bit from being untreated to treated and it definitely tastes better.
The water is a lot better since having Kinetico. You can't taste any chlorine. It tastes better 100%. The installation also went very smoothly. I had a good experience.
Thanks Jon!
Since having Kinetico, there's been a big difference. Now, the water is smooth, silky and it's a lot better. We enjoy the system. Everything was great with Kinetico. The reps were also very good.
Here and in Ohio, we had an excellent experience with Kinetico. As a matter of fact, our experience with the two systems we bought in Ohio was so good that we asked them, "Find us a place in Florida." We went to the one in Florida, and we thanked them very much. They were going to tell us all about Kinetico, but we knew what we wanted and bought the Kinetico Overdrive Enhanced. Also, we have the reverse osmosis on our sink and we had them come and take a look at that. The guy came right out, told us it needed some air in it and put the air in, and it's been fine ever since. Our system here is six and a half years old.
Kinetico's products are wonderful. They don't use any electricity, and they use very little salt. Those gears in there run forever. Our experience on our first one was after we had it for 12 years, it needed a new gear kit in the top. They simply showed my husband, "This is it," unscrewed the top, and put it in. "You don't need to pay for a service call. This will take care of it," and they were right. They are absolutely maintenance-free. All in all, we've had a total of three systems over the past 30 years. We are very loyal to Kinetico, and we have recommended it to several friends here in Florida.
When my Kinetico system was working, I had nice and soft water, and it was clean. It hasn't been clean since the Coronavirus came in though. We've been on lockdown ever since the Coronavirus has come out. So, I couldn't get ahold of any salt and anybody to come and look at it or fix it and I don't like it at all. For the first year I used it, it did well but once I stopped putting salt in, it stinks. My water smells like rotten eggs. When you don't put salt in the salt-driven thing, it doesn't work. When I finally got somebody I could talk to on the phone, he said, “Run the water if it smells.” I ran the water. I'm glad I don't have to pay for it because I have to run the water for a good half hour before I can use it.
Overall, I don't think the quality is very good. I asked them to take the thing out when the Coronavirus came in. They shrugged and went away. So, I've been with it for a whole year for nothing. It's very frustrating. I would not recommend it to anybody. I have had a very lousy experience. I would have been a little happier if the person that came to check it out had taken the whole stupid thing out.
Hello Eileen,
You are correct. The softener will not work if salt is not added to it. Most Florida installations are outside. Your area tech can put salt in to your softener and not come in to contact with you. You can also pick up salt at the grocery store when you're shopping and add it yourself.
The softener is not designed to remove odor from your water. You may need additional water treatment to address odor or you may need to have your water heater sanitized or the anode adjusted.

Mine is a water softener and a filter system to get rid of sulfur, manganese and different well elements. We had work going on in the space at the same time the installers were doing their work. They were here for a day. They did a great job. We live in a very rural community, and the water quality is not great. We have manganese and some iron. So, the water is much improved, especially smell because we had a lot of sulfur smell from the water in the house.
Hi Marissa,
We are glad to hear your water is much improved. Please be certain to touch base with your installer if any iron, manganese, sulfur or hardness remain. It is our expectation for these to be gone completely.

This property has always had terrible water and we've always used Kinetico products. I got no problems with the quality of the product or the technicians that installed it. But the service provider that does the install work on Kinetico's behalf could do a better job running their business. Asking clients to pay for the product before it's installed when you're a reputable business does not seem to make a lot of sense to a consumer that has to wait months to have things installed.
I had Kinetico do one service call, but I'm way overdue for another service call. But things are going fine, so I haven't scheduled that. It was just a check-up and I had been experiencing some salt in the water, and there was a small valve that had plugged with a rock or something like that. Other than that, the system has been great and that salty thing was just right when it regenerated. I guess it didn't fully clear because of that little valve.
Our water softener was installed by a very capable service person and it didn't take long. The water has been softer since. It's a top-of-the-line system and it performs very well.
The system that I put in removes all of the hardness and the iron that's in the water. The filters make sure it's clean. The system is great. It solves all my problems. The local reps here are great. They service the system. They test it every year.
When we had our house rebuilt, a water purification system was put in but it was not softening the water. We ended up having to replace a hot water heater because of corrosion. We had it replaced so that we didn't have to replace water heaters anymore. Somebody recommended Kinetico to us. We definitely can tell the difference in the water. Sometimes, it tends to really go through a lot of salt pellets.
Hi Leeann,
We would love to say you will never have to replace your water heater again because of your Kinetico, but unfortunately; we cannot. There are many factors that tie in to the life of a water heater.
Please be certain to touch base with your area installer if you are concerned with your salt usage. Or even contact us and we can assist: customersupport@kinetico.com, 800.944.9283 option 2.
