    Whatever you do is do not buy this Kinetico. I was having problems at 8 months and they wanted to charge me a service charge to come out to fix it under warranty. Have had nothing but problems with it as a contractor. I installed three systems and houses that I built and wound up replacing them with other products to satisfy my homeowners. Way overpriced and way overrated. The staff Leesburg Florida are the biggest scammers you can find. I will be happy to refer you to many other companies.

The owner of the Salt Lake branch installed the water softener and RO system for me. Over the years, I've only had to rebuild the water softener once and still use the same RO system.

    My water is from a well and is about 40 hard, making a water softener a necessity.     The builder of my home encouraged me to consider the Kinetico system. After researching and reading reviews, and based on the builder's recommendation, I got the system installed. Though I no longer own the system, as I have sold the house it was in, I did have the opportunity to test it while I lived there.

    I had both the water filtration system and the water softener. I didn't really notice a significant difference in the softening of the water, but the filtration, particularly the reverse osmosis for drinking water, worked well and met my expectations.

    While the Kinetico system is good, it is quite expensive. The replacement filters are overpriced, in my opinion. Despite this, overall, I'd rate my experience with Kinetico a 4 out of 5.     I've used Kinetico since moving from Pennsylvania in 1992. We were unfamiliar with the area and told the water was very hard, so as our house was being built, they installed the Kinetico system for us.     1-Star Review: Disappointing Experience with Kinetico Water System. I regret choosing Kinetico for our home water system. From the start, the installation was poorly done, and it was clear that the system recommended to us was not the right fit for our home’s needs. Despite raising concerns, customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. We also paid for maintenance visits that never happened. Every time we reached out, we were either given the runaround or ignored entirely. The lack of professionalism and accountability has been incredibly frustrating. For the price we paid, we expected much better service and reliability. I would not recommend Kinetico to anyone looking for a hassle-free and properly supported water system. Look elsewhere if you want a company that stands by its products and values its customers.

    In my prior house, we bought a system because we were on a well and I felt that I wanted to make sure I had clean water systems. It was a cheaper brand and I was always having problems with it. I switched and after a little bit of studying, I went with Kinetico. I moved houses and put the Kinetico system in my new one and everything seemed to go okay. This is much more easier to maintain than my previous system. One issue, and I really can't blame it on Kinetico, is it tends to freeze when it gets really cold outside. But it hasn't really plagued me so much that I really dug into it. It's fine after the temperature changes a little bit.

    Our Kinetico works great. I love it. I'm on a well. I'm out in the country, and I have very sulfuric water coming out of the well. Kinetico only cycles based on water usage. So, it doesn't cycle every night. It cycles when there's enough water used that it needs to cycle. It's not a plug-in unit. It knows how much water is being used. Then that's when they recycle and regenerate the medium. The system was installed five years ago, and I have not had to do anything except to replace this one bag filter every four months. They also put in a carbon filter at the same time. It was another brand, but it's worked fine. It needs no maintenance. As far as the water quality, it's fine. I drink it out of the tap. My wife and 21-year-old son use a little pitcher filter thing for their water bottles.

    We have a spring and it's hard water. We wanted it to be softer and pure for the kids to drink. We went with Kinetico and now, our water is good. We have a reverse osmosis system and we use it a lot. One thing I really appreciated was they physically tested the water coming out of the reverse osmosis to make sure that it was okay. It was a lot of peace of mind to see them test it and show it to me saying it's safe and clear. We had quarterly service with them but we did not continue it, not because we were unhappy but it wasn't worth it.

    We have hard water here in our house and we wanted a water softener. Kinetico seemed the most reputable from just looking around, researching and seeing whose systems that were out there. Their reps were very pleasant, seemed professional, and walked me through what they were seeing and where the recommendations were coming from. The water is definitely softer now. But we have noticed the water is a little salty afterward. But they told us about it. If you're doing a lot of planting, you need to keep that in mind, cause our plants don't like it. The product that they sold us to get rid of the salt, is only for one faucet. It's not like it removes the salt everywhere for other sinks.

    I purchased both a water softener and a reverse osmosis system from Kinetico many years ago. My reverse osmosis system is still running fine since 1990. However, I had to replace my 1990 water softener last year with a new one from Kinetico. I initially chose Kinetico because I believed they had the best product on the market, particularly due to their water softener's feature of softening by water usage rather than by a timer, which avoids waste.

    Originally, I decided to invest in these systems because I have hard water from my well, which needed softening. The reverse osmosis system came in handy post-softening to remove the salt, making the water drinkable. While the product itself is excellent, my recent experience with Kinetico's sales and service has been disappointing. In 1990, their service was amazing, but last year's experience was quite the opposite. The difficulty in obtaining replacement filters and unsupportive local offices added to my frustration.

    I had to resort to contacting a Dallas distributor for parts since neither the San Antonio nor Austin offices would assist me. Despite these hurdles, I still purchased a water softener due to my trust in their product quality. Unfortunately, the sales staff was slow to respond, and the installer used poor craftsmanship, leaving me unhappy with the setup. As a result, I'm planning to redo it once the warranty expires.

    Overall, while Kinetico's products are top-notch, their sales and service are lacking. I would rate my experience a one out of five due to the poor service, although the product itself is excellent. I'd recommend their products to friends or family for their quality, but would caution them about the sales and service issues.

    I purchased a home that already had an existing water softener system. It was over 20 years old, so I had it refurbished with Kinetico and also added a drinking water filtration system. Before the refurbishment, the water had poor taste with high iron and sulfur contents due to shallow wells close to the coast, which made extra filtration necessary. After the upgrade, the drinking water system made the water taste as perfect as bottled water. The upkeep is manageable; we change the whole house filters monthly, and the drinking water system alerts us when it needs a filter change. In over a year, we've changed those filters only once.

    The Kinetico rep tested our water and then told us what hardness we had, which we already knew. We bought a reconditioned softener. We bought a RO system also. The water's softer now. You can tell that when you take a shower. You get suds and also, when you make tea, the tea stays clear for two weeks if you want to go through the RO.     Kinetico installed my underwater cylinders under my kitchen sink. When the cylinders stop filtering, they will indicate they need replacement. At that time, I will call them to come. When we were living in a different location, we had a bigger house. We had Kinetico Water System for years and that's why when I needed this, we went back to them. The previous filter that was in there was something that Kinetico had provided on a retail basis.     I've been with Kinetico for such a long time. I have the whole water purification system. We lived in a place that had well water. It was hard water, and also turned out it had methane in it. We had to treat all that mess. The installation went well and it worked. When they put it in, they did a good job. This is the second house where we've used them. And in both places, they did well. The water's cleaner and tastes better. And where we live now, we're not on well water anymore, but we have city water and it gets the chlorine out. Kinetico is a great company. The first two companies we tried never found the problem when we had the well and the methane. Kinetico was the company that found it.

    Kinetico unit installed on 07/08/2024 in new home. Moved in 07/13/2024, living in garage while working on home, softener turned on between 07/17/2024 to 07/20/2024. Wrote question on water usage/regeneration 8/7/2024 timeline: 7/8/24 Unit installed not turned on to use at that time. 7/13/24 we moved into the garage and only water we had access to was the hose on the water pump, water softener still off. 7/17 to 7/20 Denny gets an outside faucet not sure what date he hooked it up at that time he starts the water softener so that we can have a shower using the faucet outside. 7/20 to 7/26 only outside hose and toilet using the softener. Shower hooked up on the 26th. 7/20 to 7/29 the softener regenerated at least 2 times that we saw.

    Is this normal for a new unit to regenerate? On 7/29 we had the discharge hose buried and going into a drain, no longer can see if it is recharging or not. Their answer: what you described me sounds perfectly normal… The unit will do its thing, on demand, per your water usage. But like I said, sounds like it’s working as it should

    On 08/09/2024 my reply back: Guess my point was how many gallons before regenerating? Just a toilet and a hose didn't think would use so many gallons to have it regenerate. Let alone twice in such a short time. Denny thinks it did it on 8/2 because water was going out the drain when he walked by. At that time no washer going nor was it raining only other things to produce water. Just concern that we are using salt unnecessarily. Answer: About every 340 gallons Use that unit will regenerate and clean itself using some salt

    Reply back: Basically, we used 680 gallons in 9 days? Just seems like a lot with only a toilet and a water hose for 6 of those days and shower hooked up for 3 days. Don't mean to keep asking just trying to understand the concept. Their answer: They say the average person in America uses about 75 gallons of water a day… Being that it’s two of you there it would be 150 gallons a day, but, like you mentioned you don’t have a lot of appliances using water yet… When I took the gallonage that you used and divided it by nine days that’s about 75 gallons of water a day… And that seems like a typical amount of water that you folks would probably be using with your current setup. (Toilet, shower, hose etc.) It sounds to me like it’s right on the money honestly! If you have any other questions let me know,

    Next few weeks sometimes I could feel the silky feeling from water/soap other times I didn't. Still working on home and decided to wait till counter top/sink is in place to have tech check when Reverse Osmosis is installed. Reverse Osmosis installed on 09/30/2024, tech checks faucet for softness and said we did not have softened water. He checks unit and has to call office to get correct settings. We regenerate twice to get it working like it suppose to. Finally feel the silkiness and soapiness every time. I asked Tech about the usage/regeneration and his explanation made some sense with it being a new unit, on the other hand since unit was not set properly, I feel it shouldn't have regenerated 3 times within 11 days approximate.

    We had done a water well test twice prior to the system being installed. With the issues after the install we drew water from each source 11/01/2024. We talked with the lab about the results and their comment was the system was doing it's job but we should contact the company on how hard the RO system is working. I wrote Clearwater 11/12/2024 and sent them the PDF results for each sample taken and asked their opinion.

    I wrote: With the softener not at the correct settings when hooked up we did another testing after everything seemed to be working properly. I am sharing these results for your thoughts one the readings. We did a sample of all water sources to get an overall view. Any questions give us a call. Their reply: The results after being treated look good! Explanation sent back 11/13/2024: When talking with Holmes Lab they said system was doing it's job but we should let Clear Water know the results with the RO system working so hard.

    For myself am curious about the soften water results. I was using it for the cats before RO system was in place and after, thinking it was safe. I had used it a couple of times for instant coffee thinking it was safe but when it foamed up so bad switched back to bottle water. Did not realize how much sodium was put into the softened water (1000 ppm) compared to well water (25 ppm) and even the RO system being at (140 ppm). I realize that it has to increase sodium to remove the Hardness but never thought it would be so high. Wanting to let you know my concerns and if there is any suggestions for reducing sodium content. Have not received a reply back as of this date 11/16/2024

    Here are the main test results: Well hardness ppm 2072, gpg 121, TDS ppm 2400, Sulfate ppm 1660 and Sodium ppm 25. Softener hardness ppm 35, gpg 2, TDS ppm 3500, Sulfate ppm 1860 and Sodium ppm 1000. RO hardness ppm 3, gpg 0, TDS ppm 250, Sulfate ppm 124 and Sodium ppm 140. With system not set properly from day one and my questions I worried that the new setting is using more salt than necessary. If it is set correctly then back to my last question of can there be something done to reduce the high Sodium content in softened water. Another question for here, since there are equations to figure out so many things, can a person take the readings to confirm the system is set correctly. The system is expensive but if you have a company you trust to install it would be a good unit.

    We have very hard water but since getting Kinetico, our water has been a lot softer. I don't have to clean my showers and toilets as much, plus my skin and hair feel a lot better.     I've known about Kinetico for years because friends of ours have Kinetico water softeners and we considered putting one in in our house in Jackson. We put in one in 2008 and most recently purchased two years ago. It's a small model, but it fits in the space that we had for our cottage. The taste and feel of the water have changed. Did a couple of demonstrations to show the difference in water treatments and filters. We notice more when we don't do what we're supposed to. Whatever we have to put in to keep it, maintaining the correct filtration, it would start to get a rusty smell. We got a special iron filter, which the previous owners did not have, and that is a huge difference because when my husband would change the filter, it was all chopped up with iron. That was just a normal water filtration. But now that we have the iron filter as well, we don't have that. The system does what it's supposed to do.     The installers were very nice. We got a system for our whole house and our drinking water. I definitely didn't get Kinetico for the price, but the sales lady, Pam, did a good job, and the fact that it's a more mechanic system. It doesn't have to run off electricity. The system improved our water quality and the taste. We live near the coast and we've had some really hard water. With the system, our water is a lot softer. It feels like I've got lotion on when I come off out of the shower. It's not as hard to clean my glass shower doors as well. I would give Kinetico a high 5.     I would highly recommend Kinetico Water Systems because with other systems, you would get the single tank and issues when trying to recharge it. You would not have those issues with Kinetico because their system is designed on a two-tank system and it functions well.     Here in Arizona, we have very hard water, and I was interested in getting some soft water so we didn't have some of the problems that we would otherwise have. I bought the Kinetico system in 1986. It was a twin-tank system for a little over $2,000. The system makes the water soft. We don't have problems with the water heater, the dishwasher or other things being ruined with hard water deposits.

    The system was transferred to three different houses over the course of almost 40 years. In the early 2000s, the original system was overhauled. New resin was put in, and the tanks were coated with something to cover the original exterior. After about almost 40 years, we developed a little bit of leaking at the top of one of the tanks where the flow meter is. When the technician came out, he said, “Well, we don't have the part available for that. We don't make this anymore.” We installed an upgraded system about two years ago. We stayed with Kinetico because it's maintenance-free except for the salt bin, and it's always worked well for us.

    When we had this house built, we had the plumber adjust the plumbing so that the kitchen sink and the refrigerator ice maker also gets soft water. So, everything inside runs through the Kinetico. We've been very happy with it for decades. It's expensive but it's maintenance-free. It doesn't add salt or anything bad to the water. It softens it fine, and it lasts. It's a good system.

    Kinetico took a sample of water from the kitchen and put it in a little vial with the little drops to see how many drops they needed to do in order to get it to soft water. My water wasn't as hard as my parents’ that live in West Jordan, surprisingly, but it was still hard, which I expected living in Magna. I purchased the Kinetico water softener with the addition of the removal of chlorine. I also purchased a leak detection system and reverse osmosis system.

    Now I have soft water and good drinking water without the stuff that I don't want like fluoride and chlorine. However, I found out that I also have other mineral deposits in my water from having water through Magna and Kennecott and the old pipes that they have here, so while I have soft water, I still get toilet rings because of the additional minerals in the water that a soft water system doesn't remove, such as calcium and iron. But I have had soft water in the past through other companies and comparing what I've experienced with them, Kinetico is definitely one of the best companies to go through for soft water. I've gotten others to get them.

I have to use a toothbrush to open up the screen for the water to flow through.     Advanced Water Systems down in Richmond came in and assessed my water. I had some concerns about it. They recognized those concerns without me telling them what they were and they came up with a great system that's in my house. I've not had a single bit of trouble with my Kinetico system. They come in every few months and service everything. They have great equipment and they have excellent customer service as well as technical service. I'm very pleased with my system.

    The water quality in my house used to worry me. We have well water and it has a lot of iron in it. Our toilets would get all rusty looking with iron and smell badly and it was awful.     I got the Premier XP water softener from Kinetico. Being in San Antonio, the water was so hard. The first time we lived in San Antonio, we purchased a Kinetico and we were happy with that experience. We subsequently purchased it for other houses or locations we moved to in the last 20 years. We like the ease of use as far as it’s not run off of timers. It doesn't need to be plugged into electricity. It's all mechanical. Also, we like the brand reputation.

    We did run into an issue with installation that eventually got resolved. The K5 filtration system was leaking water after the initial installation, which wasn't great. Otherwise, it was good.     I got a soft water system and a RO system from Kinetico. I went with them for the soft water system. And the RO system had been in my house for a while, so I was looking at replacing it, and they offered it as well. I would not necessarily recommend a Kinetico RO system only because their filters are really expensive and you only get 500 gallons out of a filter. So, for that reason, I probably would not recommend the RO system to anybody else because I don't think it's any better than anyone else's RO system. They have a filter that's designed to stop water flow, so you don't have a choice but to replace it.

    The soft water system works very well. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I don't really notice a difference between the previous soft water system and this soft water. So, I don't know if it works any better or worse than the other system I already had. I really went with them for the reputation that the soft water has. My only complaint would be their salt water. Their tank that holds the salt pellets could be bigger. It's quite small, and so it only holds two bags at best. So, you gotta stay on top of adding salt to it all the time versus my old system probably held five bags. So, not nearly as much maintenance.

    We see that you have a model 4040 water softener. There are other brine tanks that can be used with this softener. There is a 12x40 and also and 18x35, if space allows. Aquazona, your installers; can provide more information. This will allow you to add more bags of salt.

    The K5 drinking water system does have the 500 gallon shut off. For many homes, this can last 2 or more years. Though Kinetico does suggest a yearly filter change if you've not hit the 500 gallons.

    This is designed to help extend the life of the membrane, the workhorse of the product. This unit has features that allow for Kinetico to place a 10 Year Limited Warranty on the unit.

    There is the 500 gallon shut off. There is a 'permeate flush', meaning the unit periodically takes product water and washes the membrane off. The K5 uses less water to make water than other ro's. And it has the auxiliary ports that allow for additional filters to be added on, such as the reintroduction of healthy minerals back into the water supply.

    I did a little bit of research into Kinetico when it became necessary to switch from the system that I had in the house originally. My parents used to have a Kinetico when we lived out in the country, and I never remember hearing any complaints about it. It doesn't use electricity to function was another plus and the cost to benefit relative to other machines that I could have purchased seemed like the better option overall. The rep didn't convince me to put it in but when I told him that I was leaning in that direction, he insisted that that was probably the better machine to go with. The installer was clean, polite and quick. I have a refrigerator water dispenser and I opted not to have that hooked up even though it was offered. So, I was offered a lot more than what I took of his services.

    After the system was installed, there was a little bit difference in the texture of the water but more so the iron deposits I was seeing after the failure of my other unit started clearing up. The refrigerator water dispenser started running a little bit better although I ended up having a Kinetico RO system installed at the same time so, I got a lot of benefits from that. The service, the sales and the equipment have all been wonderful.

We're used to it now, unless there is no water softener because we have a water purifier at home as well, but that is not through Kinetico. It's been close to two years since we've had the Kinetico system and so far, it's been holding up to its filtering of the water and the ease of changing the filters.     We used Kinetico at one of the houses that we were building a couple of years back and they did a good job, so we ended up using it on our personal home. We're used to having a water filtration system in the house, just not through the sink. We had a separate water machine. The installers showed up and did what they were supposed to do, which took an hour. It's been a little over a year since, and so far, our experience has been good. I would recommend Kinetico.

    I'm happy with our Kinetico water softener. It seems to do a good job. It doesn't use any electricity. We had an old Culligan system and it was time to make a change. Our neighbor had the same type of filter through Kinetico and they were happy with it. So, we contacted the company. Their reps were professional and I was very impressed with everything. It just seems like when you have a question after everything's hooked up, nobody knows the answers to them. They're not very accommodating. Our local Kinetico person could do a better job as far as customer relations are concerned, but I love the product. Installation went great. The guy knew what he was doing. Since the installation, the water is much better. It tastes good. We have terrible water out here. I change the filter every three months, and it's full of muddy water. So, it's doing the job like I expect it to.

    We found out that the water in Cape Coral is not so great and can contain pathogens. It also contains lots of calcium and all kinds of other stuff. It's not very healthy to drink, and it doesn't taste good either. We got a whole house water filter and an under-the-kitchen sink water filter from Kinetico. We liked that it doesn't require electricity to run. They just go off the water pressure, which is a huge win. That was one of the biggest reasons we selected them. A lot of other filtration systems require electricity, so if someone's power is out, they don't have fresh, clean water.

    I'm very happy with Kinetico. Our sales rep and the guy who came over to install the machinery were great. Somebody also came over some months back to make sure everything was in order, and he was terrific. I would give them all 10 out of 10. Whenever the topic comes up, we recommend Kinetico very highly. Our water tastes so much better, and it's much healthier now. We can feel the difference to the touch as well.

    I had a water softener that was no longer working properly, so I wanted to replace it. I read about Kinetico online and it seemed like it was what we wanted. Kinetico tested my water and told me that our water softener wasn't working as we already knew and told us the levels that it needed to be. We opted to have the water softener with the reverse osmosis, and it's performing well. The Kinetico rep thought that it would use less soap, but I don't necessarily see that. Other than that, our water tastes better with the reverse osmosis. For the upkeep, I just have to empty the salt in the system every so often. I'll tell people that they need a water softener and it will help the water.

    We bought a Kinetico system that they put in our crawlspace when we lived in Lehi. About a year and a half later, we sold that home and we moved to American Fork, and there's already a Kinetico here. So, I called them and asked them if they would come and check it to see if everything's okay. They told us that the backwash needed to be replaced and that I was only two months away from the warranty for our new home in American Fork. They came out and fixed the whole thing. So, I've been really happy with them. I was very pleased with the service people that came out. They were very courteous and helpful.

    My wife had problems with itchy skin, and so we thought that getting the soft water might help. She has multiple issues that deal with the skin, so she's taking medication for that. I can't tell if it's the medication or the water that's helping, but she doesn't complain about it to me, so it must be okay. As far as the upkeep of the system, I check the salt pellet level every other month, and it usually takes about half of a bag.

    We lived in a house out in the country that had terribly rusty water. In that house, we bought the Kinetico water softener system and had good luck with that. A few years later, we moved to a different rural home with well water. We took the water softener system with us, and we added the reverse osmosis drinking water system to that. Ever since then, we've been huge believers in the RO drinking water and in Kinetico. In 30 plus years, we've never had any significant issues. They've been trouble-free. It's just a little bit of normal maintenance. My wife is huge into the drinking water thing. She's convinced that a lot of our health problems individually and as a country are based in poor quality drinking water.

    Kinetico is a reliable, maintenance-free system. It's one of the best investments we've ever made. They're not cheap, but anything of any decent quality and more is not cheap. They've been around for a long time and it's not some fly-by-night company that pops up on your internet feed. They have local service technicians and if you have a problem, they can fix it.

    I had iron in my water and Kinetico had an electric free device, which was the selling factor. I now have their O2 system and the one that removes iron from the water, which has two tanks.     Our water is terrible. The original place that was there was my grandparents and they had a water softener. If we don't use the water softener, there's so much calcium in the water, the clear drinking glasses will be milky and a lot of rust too. We got the whole setup, softener and filter from Kinetico. The rep did an excellent job. He came in on a Saturday because one tank was ready to explode, he said. It was an older system.

    I like the product. It uses different technology than some of the more common ones. Even though it's more expensive. But I have someone at work who had the product and he recommended it as well.     We have Kinetico's whole house filter and some reverse osmosis for the drinking water. Then it has the salt part of it. It doesn't use electricity, which appealed to me because we live in the country and in the past we've had power issues. So, I liked the idea that I didn't have to worry about all that. Kinetico also has that thing that you can have on your phone and do the monitoring, but I don't do any of that. I just need a system that works and that I can check and put salt in, because that's about all I have time for. And I have to get someone to help me with the salt anyway. The equipment gives us good drinking water, and it keeps the water cleaner and clearer. I have less staining, too. But I still notice that occasionally, we'd have an odor from the water. But that is probably not the system's fault but the well. We have a very high water table. Other than that, people have asked me what system I have and I have always mentioned Kinetico.

    I purchased two light industrial water units and two reverse osmosis units. I replaced the system in place with a heavier duty one in my other home and bought a brand new one for another home. The installers were nice guys and did a good job. I have had to replace one of the filters on the new one already because there's so much iron in the water.     A couple of weeks after I purchased the system, Kinetico’s techs came out right away and scheduled the installation. They did what I find that most contractors don't do anymore today, which is, they told me when they were gonna show up and they showed up. They did a marvelous job and were very thorough, professional and expensive. Russ, the guy who set the thing up in the beginning, spent time with my contractor. They decided where to run the water lines and hook-ups and have everything ready. So when they did come out another couple of weeks later, everything was ready for the technician. The technician took a few hours to install. But it went in quickly and easily. The system is great. It works very well and appears to be very efficient. I wasn't quite sure how to turn it off when I'm not there and I'm not there now. But the technician came out and walked me through the whole thing. It was very impressive.

    We needed water filtration and a softener for our house. We talked to a sales rep from Kinetico and the installation was good. There was one issue, but it got resolved. The cost is a bit high but the quality is great. Since we got the equipment, the water is soft. The app is okay as far as monitoring when it needs to be changed. It would be nice if it were a little easier to get the replacement cartridges, or if they give us a list of retailers where we can go and get it. But the guys that have come out and changed the filters have been really helpful.

    I had really hard water here and it was ruining my toilets and stuff and I had a bathroom remodel and I didn't want it messed up.     When we moved to this new home, we had hard water. Then they installed a Kinetico system and we felt a little difference after. There's a difference in the water that we drink and even in the water we use for shower. The installation was okay, but it was a little uncomfortable. They had to install in one of my bedroom closets. The tech did not give me a professional advice like this can go to the garage too, but he just insisted me to put it in the bedroom area, which is easy for him instead of the garage.     We bought the water softener, filter and RO from Kinetico. Other than the RO filters they go quickly and are expensive to replace. The first round didn't last a year and it would have been nice if they just replaced it. But I don't have any issues with the water. It is soft now and I use less soap. Not having to deal with hard water is nice. The installation took half a day. The plumber was very good at what he did so he made a short work of it. He knew how to solder some pipes and put it together. After it's installed, it's just the maintenance stuff that you have to come to expect with a water treatment system. You have to deal with the same with any system you get. You refill the salt and change the filters when you need to. I'd recommend Kinetico.

    We had bought a system off a guy that we thought worked through Kinetico and we had trouble with it. A few years later, we had to call the Indianapolis office being that's the closest one. They came down here and as soon as they looked at it, they said they couldn't work on it. That guy, evidently, bought some cheaper parts and added the Kinetico parts. We had to end up buying a whole new Kinetico system. I wish Kinetico had a place closer. It's $169 if we have anything done to the system at all for a technician to come down here at Columbus. I've been going up to about Greenwood at that location and buying salt there lately. It seems to be using a lot of salt. Every week, I have to put a bag of salt in there.     Kinetico is the best water system that I've seen. It's the only system that uses clean water to flush when it recharges. We make appointments through a company called H2O Restorations. They're fantastic. They'll call me and remind me that the service is due. But if I need something, I can call them. A lot of times, I'll order my own filters so I can change those myself. We love the system. The price is more expensive than others but you get what you pay for. We also got a reverse osmosis for drinking and the water tastes better than bottled water.

    I am extremely disappointed my Kinetico Water Purification System. The authorized company that installed my system has been of no help and I'm pretty sure that they botched up the installation. They don't take the product seriously and it seems that they consider it unimportant. The product itself is not working. 3 or more years later I am still using the original filters that were installed with the system. It was supposed to shut itself off when the filters needed to be replaced. But that feature is completely not working. I doubt that the service company installed it correctly in the first place.

    I use bottled water because from day 1, guests in my home have told me that the water coming from the Kinetico system tastes terrible. I called Kinetico once and they were of little help to me. They told me to call the company that installed the system. So there is really no solution. I am looking to trash my Kinetico system and install something that actually works.

    2020 Sept: installation
    2020 Sept: No water to ice maker. Ice maker line found crimped by remodelers. Line corrected by Kinetico dealer. K5 functioning as designed.
    2023 Aug: call to Kinetico. Filter life concern. Customer advised that filters can last 4+ years. Factory recommendation is yearly or every 500 gallons. Which ever comes first. Customer advised to call their installer if they remain concerned with the product performance, obtain filters or schedule a filter change.
    2024 May: Social Media posts by customer. Product does not work. Installer’s work is doubtful.

    2024 May: Dealer confirms they have not heard from customer since installation. Dealer confirms the Owner’s Manual was left with the customer at installation.

    Kinetico Incorporated is a highly ethical company that works only with ethical, trained, professional dealers. We are not sure why you went to social media rather than Kinetico or Tri County Mechanical. The owner’s manual advises a yearly filter change if the 500 gallons is not used up. You were advised in August of last year to have yearly changes and to call your dealer if you are concerned with the performance of the product.

    We had Kinetico System in our house when we moved in. We originally had a well and the softener was very needed. At some point in the early 2000s, they switched over to a county water system and we assumed the water would be a little bit softer, but it really wasn't so we kept our old system. But after 20 some years, it finally had some issues where it wasn't recycling properly. We reached out to Kinetico to get a service call and they asked us about upgrading to a new system. It's a lot smaller and uses a lot less salt, which was something that we were interested in.

    They installed an upgraded system and they did some plumbing and added some things and a shutoff valve. It's pretty easy to change the filters and it's got a remote system like a Bluetooth system that tells you when it needs salt. I can log into it and check our salt level without having to go down the basement and do all that. It's all mechanical, too, so we don't have to worry about power going out or resetting anything electronic. It's pretty convenient and it does a good job for us. We're happy with it.

    I have Kinetico's water filter and their chlorinator and dechlorinator. I got a really pretty good water system. The only thing I don't have is their reverse osmosis piece. Setting up the appointment with them was very easy to do. They have the best explanation. They seemed overall the top product. The guy that they sent out to initially review the system with me, Greg, was very good. He explained everything very well. Kinetico sent a top notch installation guy out. He went to work and got it done pretty much in the prescribed amount of time that he said he would. He did an excellent job. The system was set up very well.     When we built the house, we had the water softener put in. It's the same water system that we had in the old house, and the water is much better. You can drink it from the faucet now. Before, you couldn't drink it from the faucet because it tasted nasty. Overall, I'm thoroughly satisfied with Kinetico. During the installation, there was a hiccup. I told them I wanted the reverse osmosis but then I told them to scratch that as we didn't want it. So it was $1,300 less. But when we walked in the house, the installers were drilling a hole in my marble top. They were halfway through it and I told them, “Stop. Check with the boss man. I told him I didn't want that. You got two choices. Either you give me that thing for free or you buy me new granite top. That's $6,000.” So I got a call from the big guy and he said there would be no charge. That was just a miscommunication on their part. But they were true to their word. They did everything they said they were gonna do.

    The Kinetico guy who came out was very professional and he did all the tests. He gave us the step-by-step information in what we needed to be able to make the water taste drinkable and be good. Also, we couldn't get other companies to come out in a timely period but he was able to get out to the property and give us immediate information. They were also able to do the install within a fairly short amount of time. So we had great customer service and good communication with Kinetico. When I had questions, they were very willing to answer them. We bought their water softener and we have a filter. Since the installation, the water doesn't taste like it's full of iron and like you got punched in the mouth. It tastes drinkable to me now. Also, before we got Kinetico, all the appliances around the kitchen sink and faucets were all corroded with green from all the mineral build-up. We've noticed that's all completely gone now.

    I have no issue with the Kinetico system. I like that that it is gear-driven and there is no electricity involved. It's not costing me any extra electricity to run the water for the Kinetico system to work. Every so many times the gear spins around, it clicks over to the other tank and washes the other one out, and it's just set on the gear system, so I don't need any electricity which is cool. I had a lot of iron in my water. It would stain stuff orangey. I don't know how well the system is supposed to work, but it cleaned my water up, so that's a plus, but the water still got a weird smell to it, and I don't know what to do with that. I guess that's just from the water. I'm wondering if it has to do with the salt tank thing.

    The guy told me to keep it around halfway, and I filled it up before. But one time, it was really hard and I had to smash it up with something because it wasn't working right because it solidified. The salt thing is kind of awkward. I think that could work better. Other than that, the system did what it was supposed to do. It's still a good system.

    With the Kinetico system, you don't have to have electricity and it uses much less water than the other systems. The company also offered us the option of installing it and renting it, and either permanently or after a year, we could buy it and they would apply the rent that we paid for that first year towards the purchase price. So we did that and we've been pretty happy with it. We also had to replace our first system within the last year. It leaked all the water out and made a big mess in the garage. The system just collapsed and we replaced it with another Kinetico system. It was much more expensive, but that made a number of improvements in the system over the years. And we decided to stick with Kinetico even though this new system was much more expensive than the first.

    It removes the contaminants from the water and with the water softener system, when you take your showers, you notice the difference in the way the water feels. It feels slick and some people really hate that, but it doesn't bother us any. It also takes less soap to clean dishes and clothes. Plus, you don't have a hard water taste in the water. It's expensive, but it's a good system. And because it uses less salt, there's no salty taste in the water like you do with some systems. I would highly recommend it.

    After two years of having the diseased water, we finally got it working correctly. When I spoke to one of Kinetico's officers, he said, “I never heard of any problems at all with the system. It works very well.” We never thought it would be the water. It was the water going through the machine, and it had bacteria on it. I paid to avoid having bacteria that come through the water, but Kinetico never said anything about it, or I didn't make any complaints about it. I should have. My wife suffered for two years. She was afraid to go anywhere and get caught shorthanded without a woman's toilet somewhere.

    We told Kinetico about it and they kept sending guys out, but it wasn't corrected until they got the right guy. Only one guy knew exactly what the problem was. He knew what to fix, and told us not to drink any water or turn any water on for 24 hours, and he fixed around there. That's the guy who collected the whole thing for me. Sure enough, there were no bacteria. But it’s total bacteria in the system. I feel sorry for these people that have businesses. It must be tough for them getting decent help today. I know it's not easy. But if I was a good customer and I paid my bills on time, I would expect to be serviced at the right time. But we're getting clear water now.

    We've had a Kinetico soft water system for 30 years. Back when we first bought them, we had family members that had Kinetico, way back when we lived in the Chicago area. It was a portable one that we've moved four times with us until last year. It was a really good product and it proved itself very well. We set up one appointment recently and the sales reps weren't pushy. We knew what we wanted and they gave us what we wanted. They didn't ever try to push us to anything we knew we didn't need. They came when they were supposed to right on time. The techs also gave me some good instructions.

    I have the whole house water filtration with Kinetico and I love it. It was expensive but I got my money’s worth. You know you're getting a good product when you're paying through the nose. I just got my Social Security so I had money. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to afford it.     The vendor that I used in Pennsylvania was very easy to work with and they were able to schedule things online. They had a little app that you could do that with. The vendor that I currently use here in Ohio does not have that capability. But if I just call their office and they schedule us right away. We got water tests from three different companies and when it came down to the particulates and the chemicals that were in our water, Kinetico was the one that got it out the best. They had a better water test system.

    Kinetico is your only choice. The representative was always positive and understanding, answered questions and was very knowledgeable about the products. I have a rental that has the same system that I have here in Ohio. The installation team in Pennsylvania was great because they took care of everything and rerouted a lot of different water lines so that they would fit properly. Since I got the system, the water is super soft so I don't have to worry about hard water buildup on my faucets and the damage that it does to my washer or even my refrigerator. Where I moved in Ohio, they had a high chlorine and high calcium deposit buildup. So, when we first moved in, all of our faucets were covered in nasty, cruddy grossness.
