9/05/2025 I had the pleasure of meeting the technician, James. He has been working at Gordon Bros. approximately 8 months. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend James. Gordon Bros is very blessed to have him on the staff.

We have both water softener and reverse osmosis systems. I like that it uses absolutely NO electricity or natural gas. It is its own entity, working by itself. We purchased the extended maintenance plan soooo worth it cause after 3 years no bill for a company man (that installed it) to come out every 6 months. And it also comes with a 10 year warranty. We received 2 filters using 1 at a time (which get really filthy, our water here in Binghamton NY; in my opinion; is harsh/ hard and just nasty and the dirty filter we change out every 4 months proves it) BUT... the filters are completely cleanable. I run them in hot water 1st, then soak it in a sink or bin in hot OXY for a few hours and they come out white as new. I find with the scent of the oxy and soapy-ness of it the filters need to be rinsed out several times til no scent is left.

The reverse osmosis system (that is under our kitchen sink cabinet) filters (there are 4) so far only 2 of them have needed changing every 1 1/2 years. Because we have the softening system the reverse osmosis is low maintenance. Also as all softeners, it uses salt in a large bin (which is 1 part of the whole cleaning/filtering water system). The salt bin needs salt added about every 6 months (we buy the 40 lb bag of "Morton" softener salt) at 1/2 the bag each time. So..one 40 lb bag will last a year and at about $7.50 a bag that's not bad.

OH, and I bought a water (battery operated) measuring guage. It measures the "parts per million" contaminants in water (it's for the reverse osmosis drinking water system) and it gages at 0 (that's ZERO) contaminants in our water so.... we are drinking pure clean water. I use the water also to cook with (like boiling pasta etc) and coffee, tea, lemonade etc. I totally would recommend this system. And lastly. Yes it is pricey, (I'm sorry but I cannot remember how much we paid cause we had a package deal with this, a furnace and tankless hot water heater altogether) but a no interest plan possibly is available if you ask.

I just paid $14,000 to have a system installed in my new home. 3 weeks later, sounds like a jackhammer under my kitchen sink. Called the salesman, he said the problem is these refrigerator companies these days are mad at water treatment companies and it's their fault that I have a jackhammer under my sink. He said I need to get a filter plug for my refrigerator.

I guess I'm old school. If it was my company, I would have installed a filter plug for my customer when I installed such an expensive system. I have to say though, as he pointed out, most companies might not have called me back at 8:00 at night to tell me what I should do to fix my problem with my brand-new water system but he did! All this while they are trying to sell me an expensive service contract. At least it makes that decision an easy one.

We got the water softener system from Kinetico and it's filtering the rural water and taking the chlorine out. At first, we intend to use it for our well water to filter the minerals in it, but we changed our mind and didn't use it for that. The service and installation were good. It's more expensive than the competitors, but it's still a good system. The water softener system works and the water tastes good. I'd recommend it.

We listened to a lot of AM talk radio, and there were commercials about Kinetico, and the concept of kinetic energy being used. Other conventional water softeners flush out the water whether you need it or not and waste a lot of salt and water. This concept of Kinetico was genius to us, and we were like, “Wow, this really works,” so we decided to give them a call, and we don’t regret it. I have been with Kinetico Water Systems since 2014

I have a basic water softener from Kinetico which goes all through the home except for the outdoor faucets. The guy who came out to do the presentation was very pleasant. He didn’t push anything, and basically, left it up to me to decide. I was satisfied with him. The installation took two hours to get everything done. The technicians had to reroute some water lines to basically eliminate the outdoor faucets. That was a little time-consuming.

It's been two years with Kinetico. It’s the top-of-the-line water treatment. I like the equipment, it’s good, and better than the old traditional ones.

Upkeep is effortless, so far. Everything's working fine. We’re waiting for the fellow to come out and service our system. They're gonna change the filters and try to find that little leaker on our salt tank. It's not right but I don't think it's a big deal.

When we bought the house, a different company had something in there that was $80 a month. We bought a Kinetico unit so we wouldn't have the monthly fees. Water before had high iron. It was ugly. Now we don’t have calcium or other residue anywhere in any of our water system.

Kinetico Water Systems is my second water softener. I added it to my first one because somebody told me to. I have well water, so that’s why we got them. We had just moved in a week or two, but we knew we had to.

My skin is rough, so I can’t tell if it’s softer, but I’m not going to complain about it. It’s hard to say because we always had city water. But the drinking water is very good. My teenagers like it.

I would get bottled water, but not water and ice, even from my office. My water cups for work, I only fill them up from home before I leave the house because my water tastes really good.

I have no issues or problems with it. I actually took a picture of the machine and sent it to the guy who did my water system outside. He wants to know what it was and get it for his well water.

I’m 93 and inclined to accept people as honest, to begin with. A teenager was sent here as a Kinetico salesman. His name was Michael and he told me a bunch of lies. The initial salesperson was a kid. He was frivolous and cocky. They sent out a bad salesman.

He said the water I had was a 12, and I later found out it was an 8. He told me my skin problem would be taken care of by soft water, and it wasn’t. He also said they would come twice a month to put salt in my receptacle and take care of everything, and that it would only cost $100. He said it would be about $200 or $300 for a year, and that I would have to have my water filters changed. None of that turned out to be true. You have no idea how angry I was, and still am.

I did some research and found out that if you want to know whether your filters need changing, you just look at the water coming out of the faucets. Does it have a different color? Does it smell? Does anything seem wrong? Then it needs changing. Well, two and a half years later, I still haven’t had any signs that the system needs a filter change.

I was worried that maybe I was wrong, so I called the water company. They sent a technician who was very nice and did a good job. There was nothing wrong with the system, except that I had a bathroom renovation and the guys who installed the bathtub had turned the soft water to bypass, and it wasn’t set correctly. He said the salt was fine. He took out the main filter, it was pretty dirty, but after checking the minerals in the water, he said there was still nothing wrong with my water. It cost me $450.

The filters themselves are not $300. I can go online and buy them. I watched the technician do it, and they’re not hard to change. The main filter looks ugly, but it’s just a screw in. When the Kinetico technicians came, they also broke a pipe and put in the wrong valve. When they broke the pipe, I didn’t wait for them to call their plumber. I called the plumber I knew. The pipe they broke cost me $2,000 to replace, and another $2,000 to repair the patio that had to be torn up.

The owner of the business came down, and he was a very nice man. But I wasn’t impressed with how much they charge to change the filters. I have all the filter numbers now, so I may just change them myself. Or I can call my plumber and have him do it. I also told Corey that the water system didn’t cure anything, and he said Michael should never have claimed that. He said he tells his people never to say that the water is going to cure someone. But did it leave a bad taste in my mouth? Yes, it did.

I think the last thing Michael told me was that if I had them come every week, it would cost around $10,000. People need to know what the actual costs are. I certainly did. The system itself is good. I have no problem with the system. The only problem I had was Michael. Corey, the owner, was very nice. I had considered going on Yelp and reporting it, but I didn’t. If I ever have a big problem, I want to be able to call the Kinetico company directly and hopefully get a reasonable estimate for whatever I need done.

We built our house back in '97, and that's when we got our first system. It was recommended by somebody as I looked into things. And with it not using power, that was another perk. Two years ago, I had trouble with some of the gears inside. It got to the point where with the age of it, it was time to upgrade. I got the same size, just a newer version. It's two tanks and the newer head for the whole house. I had everything plumbed in and ready to go. All they had to do was hook it up and run the drain line. I see no difference in my first Kinetico compared to the second one. Everything still cycles the same. I have recommended it to about three people that have gotten them installed. My son got one a couple of years ago, too. So, I've been pleased with it.

We had hard water and I've known Kinetico for a long time. When I would research, it seemed that that's one of the better systems. There was a local office in Indianapolis, so I purchased that water softener. I purchased one for an old house, and when I bought a new house, I bought one there, too. We did the one that takes the salt, and then we also did the filtration system for my drinking water.

We have four bathrooms, so we use a decent amount of water, and it seems to work really well. The upkeep is not too difficult. I will get it serviced every so often with a new filter, and then I add my own salt. I have Kinetico to service it once a year just because I want it done right, and it’s been great. The installation was seamless and the actual performance of the softener has been top-notch.

I like the fact that it doesn't have to have power to run. That's a plus. But the people who come into the home to put the system together should talk to the homeowner about how they want the system set up, like where they want it to go instead of just doing the little diagram picture of the triangle thing. It would have made a hell of a lot more sense if they had moved it down a little bit.

I've had the system for two years and maintenance is simple. You just change the filter then you add the salt whenever it's needed. It drains really fast when it's doing the system flush. Our basement drain can't keep up so sometimes, it floods my basement.

We had it serviced once last year and they told us to install a pressure regulator, which we did. The next time we tried to call for service, no one returned our call. We left a message with corporate and they told us to contact our local reps, so no help there. We just tried to have a service again today and the guy didn't show up when we scheduled him. Customer service is very, very lacking. The way the "general manager" spoke to me on the phone made me feel like this was all my fault. So, yeah, thanks for that. At this point, we are going to return the system and go with someone else. I don't need this stress in my life.

It was expensive, but I had gotten some other estimates and it was within the ballpark.

My house is old, but it was renovated right before I bought it, and I could start to see the hardness of the water in a brand-new washing machine and a brand-new dishwasher. That was where the recommendation came from. The water feels great and tastes great. When I run out of salt, I can totally tell the difference in the shower.

We're in Noblesville and we’re on well water. Everything gets stained and it’s gross. Our water's so hard, when we wash windows or cars, it leaves white calcium. We have a lot of iron and sediment in our water and we have to have a filtration system. We had an existing one that went bad. Kinetico did a good job getting it out and hooking up a whole water filtration system. They were in and out very quickly, explained the system well, and even hooked it up to where I can turn it on and off to be able to use it on my water line if I wanna wash my window or for the outside if I want to.

With my system before, our water tasted better. But with Kinetico, I do notice a lot less staining. I also still have a smell in my water, which I told them was a concern. It comes and goes. It's not horrible, though. It was worse with the other system. Also, with what I paid, my water should be a little bit better. It wasn't a cheap system. I’ve seen some better systems, but they are more well-known. I don't have to worry about three years from now, my system breaks down, but the company is out of business, so I went with Kinetico even though they were more expensive.

Upon installation, because I have to change out the filter every six months, I wish they had shown me how to do that or left a detailed instruction sheet. It's harder to change out the filter than my last system, because I have an extra sediment filter. I also tried to do it myself without any instructions and I accidentally bypassed the system. I thought it wasn't working, but I couldn't get the plug things out. They end up coming out and getting the system running, but I had to pay a service fee. It's something that I could have done myself if they had shown me in the first place then left proper instructions, something I could keep by the unit. Overall, I am satisfied with the product and customer service. Even the guy who came out to help me get it back running was nice.

I live in a condo and I got a drinking water system, and I like its quality.

Installation was quick and simple. They had someone here shadowing them and they got it done. We were able to use the system that day. I switched over to drinking the water, and there was a taste that I’m now used to. I have had a water softener in my old house and it broke. It didn't work very well. It was one of those cheaper brands. And then I met Tom on a job because we're in the trades together. I just happened to call him up and told him what I was looking for, and he took care of me. That was my old house. And then I just built a new house, and he put one in my new house.

Installation took a couple of hours. I didn’t move in for probably a month after that, so it sat. It was hooked up and it was just that the bypass was turned on because I was not in the house yet, so I didn't really worry about making soft water until I knew I was in the house.

We have glass shower doors, and cleaning it is a lot easier with soft water. it's much more improved, because out where I'm at, we have very hard water.

Just overall, it’s a better experience with Kinetico. How it operates is so much better than what it was before. The other one was on a timer. This one's based on water usage, and it doesn't regenerate unless it needs to be regenerated, so you're not wasting salt in a sense. If you go on vacation and stuff like that, it's not gonna be regenerating because it's not going through that system.

As for the price, it's a lot more. No doubt about it. It's three times more than the other one I replaced on the old house. I believe you get what you pay for. If you want quality, you have to pay for it.

I live way out in the country and there's no public water lines. So as soon as I had the funding, first thing I wanted to do is get my water softener system.

A biochemist came to the house and took samples of the water, inspected the wellhead, determined that I did have algae in the water and that the water was very hard. The water was not discolored, but it smelled of rotten eggs So the system I have has a chlorination system for the algae, and then salt filters for the sulfur and the iron in the water. And it's perfect. My water is lovely now. It’s perfect.

We knew what we were getting into. We've got the water softener system, and then we've got an add-on for our drinking water, a separate cylinder in the wall space. Installation was very smooth. We both immediately saw the difference with how the water felt, so we were pleased with that. Fortunately, we felt like we could afford it and went ahead and proceeded with it. It’s not cheap. Cathy was also very particular about her drinking water and that's why we got the other system. We pay a fee for the salt to be reloaded or optimized. Kinetico is the best in class and that they are well worth the money. And when it comes to your home and your health, you need to go for what's the best product available, and it's Kinetico. My prior system stopped working and I was looking for a replacement. I chose Kinetico because of their reputation, and I looked at their website, and they are top-of-the-line. And since I was going to make that kind of an investment, I believe in buying the best you can get. I had the water softener system and the reverse osmosis from them.

Their team was really good. First, John came out and tested the water. He was very thorough. He talked with us about the results and made a recommendation for what we needed. They sent two technicians and did a really good job. I noticed a tremendous difference in the quality of the water.

After I had the system for over a year, I gave them a call to tell them that they needed to come and check the filters and do a yearly maintenance. The lady asked me how many people are in the household and if there was a decrease in the water pressure. And what the indicator is saying. She said I did not need the maintenance yet. That was amazing for me. If Kinetico was out to just make money, they would charge me for something I may not even need.

I've had it now for a couple of years, and the cost of having them come out to replace the filters is pretty high. It was $500. And I know you can do that yourself in theory but I'm a wheelchair user and doing that sort of replacement isn't possible for me. I spent $8,000 on the system, and it'd be nice if you knew you got a few perks going forward to keep the filters up to date.

It's really simple to run. It doesn't really use that much salt, because that was a concern from other people I talked to. They were saying how cumbersome it was to have to deal with the salt, and it's not that big of a deal. My fixtures in the house look better. My dishes look better and I feel the difference in having soft water on my skin and my hair. It's great. I should have done it years ago.

Their people were prompt. I had a good experience with them. They installed everything. They connected my refrigerator with a new system so it was helpful. They also did a water test before leaving. We installed it in the first two weeks and I definitely see the difference.

They should, however, setup time to go over how filters are replaced and a hands-on session would have really helped. I had to look up videos and struggle to get it installed or replaced for the first time. The hands-on tutorial would have helped me replace RO system filters and also water softener filters.

Other than that, the product is good. It's a robust product. Their price may be on the higher side compared to the competitors, but the trade-off would be the customer service. So, I was okay with paying a little bit extra upfront. I have already recommended them.

He came down and installed my water softener and my RO system. We have to rebuild the water softener once every 20 years and I'm still using the same RO system.

The thing I liked about the Kinetico is that it doesn't require electricity. Electricity goes out pretty regularly around here, so I don't have to worry about that system getting fouled up or anything like that. When we lived in West Jordan, we had one that was electrically powered and it was a nightmare.

We just have to keep putting the salt in. Other than that, it just keeps on keeping on like it's supposed to. Even if we're showering or something like that, it doesn't seem to affect the water pressure too much.

I've told several people about it. The thing that is discouraging to people about Kinetico is the price. They just can't see themselves spending that kind of money. The only improvement I’d suggest is a lower price. I told the salesman that I like their product but it’s definitely more expensive than others. Still, I get what I pay for. As an engineer, I can appreciate the quality and engineering that went into it.

I really like the company. I've used Kinetico since moving from Pennsylvania in 1992. We were unfamiliar with the area and told the water was very hard, so as our house was being built, they installed the Kinetico system for us. My experience with the system has been great, without any problems. I did need a replacement once, but otherwise, they visit annually to maintain the system, including the unit under the kitchen sink that provides reverse osmosis water.

I'm extremely satisfied and would rate Kinetico a 5 out of 5. We've been happy with the system for over 32 years. I even recommended it to my son and his wife when they moved out, and they installed a Kinetico system too.

The installation team of Kinetico impressed me with their professionalism, going above and beyond in their work. The new system, which is installed inside under the sink, has noticeably improved the water quality compared to the old system we used to have outside. However, I think it would be beneficial if Kinetico could reach out to customers after a year for a check-up, especially concerning the filters and their longevity. Another area for improvement would be getting someone out sooner to replace filters.

Overall, the installation process and the functionality of the product have been excellent.

I knew I needed a water system and actually went online to the Facebook page for my neighborhood. I had worked in water purification before. The other leading one is Culligan and I knew I didn't want that one. A lot of people in my neighborhood had the Kinetico system. Once I learned about that, we had a rep come over so we could hear what he had to say. And we liked that. So, that's what we went with. We got the one that is for all through the house and the separate thing in the kitchen.

I lived there eight years, and I went through three dishwashers before, because of the buildup from the lime and calcium we had in our pipes and how bad the water was in that area. And a hot water heater, too. But after the Kinetico system was installed, the water was different. The system was very good.

The techs always came out when I called them. If I needed extra salt or a new filter, they would usually come out that week, sometimes the very next day. They were always easy to get a hold of. I didn't have to talk to a computer. And they were always really nice. We have since sold the house and I didn't need one in my new place. But if I needed a water system, Kinetico is the one I would go with.

Setting up the appointment was straightforward, and the process involved both phone discussions and an in-person presentation. My wife handled the installation process while I was out of town, and it seems to have gone smoothly.

My experience with Kinetico has been highly positive, and I recommend their services to others. This is much more easier to maintain than my previous system. One issue, and I really can't blame it on Kinetico, is it tends to freeze when it gets really cold outside. Our Kinetico works great. I love it. I'm on a well. I'm out in the country, and I have very sulfuric water coming out of the well. Kinetico only cycles based on water usage. So, it doesn't cycle every night. It cycles when there's enough water used that it needs to cycle. It's not a plug-in unit. It knows how much water is being used. Then that's when they recycle and regenerate the medium. The system was installed five years ago, and I have not had to do anything except to replace this one bag filter every four months. They also put in a carbon filter at the same time. It was another brand, but it's worked fine. It needs no maintenance. As far as the water quality, it's fine. I drink it out of the tap. My wife and 21-year-old son use a little pitcher filter thing for their water bottles.

I purchased both a water softener and a reverse osmosis system from Kinetico many years ago. My reverse osmosis system is still running fine since 1990. However, I had to replace my 1990 water softener last year with a new one from Kinetico. I initially chose Kinetico because I believed they had the best product on the market, particularly due to their water softener's feature of softening by water usage rather than by a timer, which avoids waste.

Originally, I decided to invest in these systems because I have hard water from my well, which needed softening. The reverse osmosis system came in handy post-softening to remove the salt, making the water drinkable. While the product itself is excellent, my recent experience with Kinetico's sales and service has been disappointing. In 1990, their service was amazing, but last year's experience was quite the opposite. The difficulty in obtaining replacement filters and unsupportive local offices added to my frustration.

I had to resort to contacting a Dallas distributor for parts since neither the San Antonio nor Austin offices would assist me. Despite these hurdles, I still purchased a water softener due to my trust in their product quality. Unfortunately, the sales staff was slow to respond, and the installer used poor craftsmanship, leaving me unhappy with the setup. As a result, I'm planning to redo it once the warranty expires.

Overall, while Kinetico's products are top-notch, their sales and service are lacking. I would rate my experience a one out of five due to the poor service, although the product itself is excellent. I'd recommend their products to friends or family for their quality, but would caution them about the sales and service issues.

I purchased a home that already had an existing water softener system. It was over 20 years old, so I had it refurbished with Kinetico and also added a drinking water filtration system. Before the refurbishment, the water had poor taste with high iron and sulfur contents due to shallow wells close to the coast, which made extra filtration necessary. After the upgrade, the drinking water system made the water taste as perfect as bottled water. The upkeep is manageable; we change the whole house filters monthly, and the drinking water system alerts us when it needs a filter change. In over a year, we've changed those filters only once.

Kinetico has been responsive and helpful, especially with issues related to our old well. I find Kinetico to be an excellent company providing great service at a reasonable price. If I were to rate them, I would give them a 5 out of 5, and if I could, I'd rate them even higher.

    "Dear Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

While we are disappointed to hear about your dissatisfaction, we believe it’s important to provide some context regarding your concerns.

Six years ago, we assisted you with the installation of Kinetico systems that you had acquired elsewhere.
At the time of installation, these systems were already used and out of warranty, and this was explained to you.

Our role was limited to providing labor services for the installation.

Unfortunately, six years have passed, and these systems have not been maintained during that time.

Since the systems were not purchased through us and lacked an original manufacturer’s warranty at the time of installation, we are unable to provide warranty coverage or repairs for them now.

We understand your frustration, but we must follow manufacturer guidelines and policies to ensure the integrity and quality of service.
Edward, our team manager, is always willing to assist and discuss your concerns directly.

If you’d like, we’re happy to explore options for upgrading or replacing your systems with new ones that will include full manufacturer warranties and ongoing support.

The water in San Antonio was some of the hardest water I've ever seen in my entire life. That's why we got the water softener and it made a huge difference. The water felt a lot nicer on the skin. The water from the city was chlorinated, so the chlorine smell was gone. My wife said her hair felt better.

I've been with Kinetico for such a long time. I have the whole water purification system. We lived in a place that had well water. It was hard water, and also turned out it had methane in it. We had to treat all that mess. The installation went well and it worked. When they put it in, they did a good job. This is the second house where we've used them. And in both places, they did well. The water's cleaner and tastes better. And where we live now, we're not on well water anymore, but we have city water and it gets the chlorine out. Kinetico is a great company. The first two companies we tried never found the problem when we had the well and the methane. Kinetico was the company that found it.

Kinetico unit installed on 07/08/2024 in new home. Moved in 07/13/2024, living in garage while working on home, softener turned on between 07/17/2024 to 07/20/2024. Wrote question on water usage/regeneration 8/7/2024 timeline: 7/8/24 Unit installed not turned on to use at that time. 7/13/24 we moved into the garage and only water we had access to was the hose on the water pump, water softener still off. 7/17 to 7/20 Denny gets an outside faucet not sure what date he hooked it up at that time he starts the water softener so that we can have a shower using the faucet outside. 7/20 to 7/26 only outside hose and toilet using the softener. Shower hooked up on the 26th. 7/20 to 7/29 the softener regenerated at least 2 times that we saw.

Is this normal for a new unit to regenerate? On 7/29 we had the discharge hose buried and going into a drain, no longer can see if it is recharging or not. Their answer: what you described me sounds perfectly normal… The unit will do its thing, on demand, per your water usage. But like I said, sounds like it’s working as it should

On 08/09/2024 my reply back: Guess my point was how many gallons before regenerating? Just a toilet and a hose didn't think would use so many gallons to have it regenerate. Let alone twice in such a short time. Denny thinks it did it on 8/2 because water was going out the drain when he walked by. At that time no washer going nor was it raining only other things to produce water. Just concern that we are using salt unnecessarily. Answer: About every 340 gallons Use that unit will regenerate and clean itself using some salt

Reply back: Basically, we used 680 gallons in 9 days? Just seems like a lot with only a toilet and a water hose for 6 of those days and shower hooked up for 3 days. Don't mean to keep asking just trying to understand the concept. Their answer: They say the average person in America uses about 75 gallons of water a day… Being that it’s two of you there it would be 150 gallons a day, but, like you mentioned you don’t have a lot of appliances using water yet… When I took the gallonage that you used and divided it by nine days that’s about 75 gallons of water a day… And that seems like a typical amount of water that you folks would probably be using with your current setup. (Toilet, shower, hose etc.) It sounds to me like it’s right on the money honestly! If you have any other questions let me know,

Next few weeks sometimes I could feel the silky feeling from water/soap other times I didn't. Still working on home and decided to wait till counter top/sink is in place to have tech check when Reverse Osmosis is installed. Reverse Osmosis installed on 09/30/2024, tech checks faucet for softness and said we did not have softened water. He checks unit and has to call office to get correct settings. We regenerate twice to get it working like it suppose to. Finally feel the silkiness and soapiness every time. I asked Tech about the usage/regeneration and his explanation made some sense with it being a new unit, on the other hand since unit was not set properly, I feel it shouldn't have regenerated 3 times within 11 days approximate.

We had done a water well test twice prior to the system being installed. With the issues after the install we drew water from each source 11/01/2024. We talked with the lab about the results and their comment was the system was doing it's job but we should contact the company on how hard the RO system is working. I wrote Clearwater 11/12/2024 and sent them the PDF results for each sample taken and asked their opinion.

I wrote: With the softener not at the correct settings when hooked up we did another testing after everything seemed to be working properly. I am sharing these results for your thoughts one the readings. We did a sample of all water sources to get an overall view. Any questions give us a call. Their reply: The results after being treated look good! Explanation sent back 11/13/2024: When talking with Holmes Lab they said system was doing it's job but we should let Clear Water know the results with the RO system working so hard.

For myself am curious about the soften water results. I was using it for the cats before RO system was in place and after, thinking it was safe. I had used it a couple of times for instant coffee thinking it was safe but when it foamed up so bad switched back to bottle water. Did not realize how much sodium was put into the softened water (1000 ppm) compared to well water (25 ppm) and even the RO system being at (140 ppm). I realize that it has to increase sodium to remove the Hardness but never thought it would be so high. Wanting to let you know my concerns and if there is any suggestions for reducing sodium content. Have not received a reply back as of this date 11/16/2024

Here are the main test results: Well hardness ppm 2072, gpg 121, TDS ppm 2400, Sulfate ppm 1660 and Sodium ppm 25. Softener hardness ppm 35, gpg 2, TDS ppm 3500, Sulfate ppm 1860 and Sodium ppm 1000. RO hardness ppm 3, gpg 0, TDS ppm 250, Sulfate ppm 124 and Sodium ppm 140. With system not set properly from day one and my questions I worried that the new setting is using more salt than necessary. If it is set correctly then back to my last question of can there be something done to reduce the high Sodium content in softened water. Another question for here, since there are equations to figure out so many things, can a person take the readings to confirm the system is set correctly. The system is expensive but if you have a company you trust to install it would be a good unit.

I got really hard water and I like the salt monitor on the bin so that I don't have to keep going down there in the dungeon and looking at it to check on it or set an alarm. It keeps track of itself. But when I was getting my install, I talked to the installer about salt sales and he was going to get back with me because I was going to buy a pallet load of salt and just have it. I've got a place to store it and it's one more thing that I don't have to fret about. But I haven't heard anything from them since the date of install for possibly coming and doing the annual service or anything about any salt.

Did a couple of demonstrations to show the difference in water treatments and filters. We notice more when we don't do what we're supposed to. Whatever we have to put in to keep it, maintaining the correct filtration, it would start to get a rusty smell. We got a special iron filter, which the previous owners did not have, and that is a huge difference because when my husband would change the filter, it was all chopped up with iron. That was just a normal water filtration. But now that we have the iron filter as well, we don't have that. The system does what it's supposed to do. I'm happy with the low amount of maintenance that has to be done for it to be kept up. Get it.

Here in Arizona, we have very hard water, and I was interested in getting some soft water so we didn't have some of the problems that we would otherwise have. I bought the Kinetico system in 1986. It was a twin-tank system for a little over $2,000. The system makes the water soft. We don't have problems with the water heater, the dishwasher or other things being ruined with hard water deposits.

The system was transferred to three different houses over the course of almost 40 years. In the early 2000s, the original system was overhauled. New resin was put in, and the tanks were coated with something to cover the original exterior. After about almost 40 years, we developed a little bit of leaking at the top of one of the tanks where the flow meter is. When the technician came out, he said, “Well, we don't have the part available for that. We don't make this anymore.” We installed an upgraded system about two years ago. We stayed with Kinetico because it's maintenance-free except for the salt bin, and it's always worked well for us.

When we had this house built, we had the plumber adjust the plumbing so that the kitchen sink and the refrigerator ice maker also gets soft water. So, everything inside runs through the Kinetico. We've been very happy with it for decades. It's expensive but it's maintenance-free. It doesn't add salt or anything bad to the water. It softens it fine, and it lasts. It's a good system.

Kinetico took a sample of water from the kitchen and put it in a little vial with the little drops to see how many drops they needed to do in order to get it to soft water. My water wasn't as hard as my parents’ that live in West Jordan, surprisingly, but it was still hard, which I expected living in Magna. I purchased the Kinetico water softener with the addition of the removal of chlorine. I also purchased a leak detection system and reverse osmosis system.

Now I have soft water and good drinking water without the stuff that I don't want like fluoride and chlorine. However, I found out that I also have other mineral deposits in my water from having water through Magna and Kennecott and the old pipes that they have here, so while I have soft water, I still get toilet rings because of the additional minerals in the water that a soft water system doesn't remove, such as calcium and iron. But I have had soft water in the past through other companies and comparing what I've experienced with them, Kinetico is definitely one of the best companies to go through for soft water. We like the ease of use as far as it’s not run off of timers. It doesn't need to be plugged into electricity. It's all mechanical. Also, we like the brand reputation.

We did run into an issue with installation that eventually got resolved. The K5 filtration system was leaking water after the initial installation, which wasn't great. Otherwise, it was good. Everything was done professionally, and we had good interactions. The products are expensive but they do a good job. I'd be happy if they didn't cost as much.

I got a soft water system and a RO system from Kinetico. I went with them for the soft water system. And the RO system had been in my house for a while, so I was looking at replacing it, and they offered it as well. I would not necessarily recommend a Kinetico RO system only because their filters are really expensive and you only get 500 gallons out of a filter. So, for that reason, I probably would not recommend the RO system to anybody else because I don't think it's any better than anyone else's RO system. They have a filter that's designed to stop water flow, so you don't have a choice but to replace it.

The soft water system works very well. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I don't really notice a difference between the previous soft water system and this soft water. So, I don't know if it works any better or worse than the other system I already had. I really went with them for the reputation that the soft water has. My only complaint would be their salt water. Their tank that holds the salt pellets could be bigger. It's quite small, and so it only holds two bags at best. So, you gotta stay on top of adding salt to it all the time versus my old system probably held five bags. So, not nearly as much maintenance.

    Response from Kinetico Water Systems

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for choosing Kinetico and for sharing this feed back.

We see that you have a model 4040 water softener. There are other brine tanks that can be used with this softener. There is a 12x40 and also and 18x35, if space allows. Aquazona, your installers; can provide more information. This will allow you to add more bags of salt.

The K5 drinking water system does have the 500 gallon shut off. For many homes, this can last 2 or more years. Though Kinetico does suggest a yearly filter change if you've not hit the 500 gallons.

This is designed to help extend the life of the membrane, the workhorse of the product. This unit has features that allow for Kinetico to place a 10 Year Limited Warranty on the unit.

There is the 500 gallon shut off. There is a 'permeate flush', meaning the unit periodically takes product water and washes the membrane off. The K5 uses less water to make water than other ro's. And it has the auxiliary ports that allow for additional filters to be added on, such as the reintroduction of healthy minerals back into the water supply.

Thanks for giving us this opportunity. Please be certain to check back with Aquazona for additional information.

I was looking at different water systems and know a lot of companies come and go from that type of service. My buddy said that he looked Kinetico up and that they've been in service for a really long time. That was what made me consider them. The salesperson was straightforward and showed me the ins and outs of the system, like what it does, how long it lasts for, and what their warranty is on the system. They also explained that it was a water-only system. There was no need for electrical.

The showerhead when I moved in the house was bad. I had to replace that. I was wondering why the water pressure was so low. I thought there was a problem with my plumbing. Once I replaced the showerhead, that told me how hard the water was and there were mold and mildew that built up with the hard water. But after having the Kinetico system and using it for 2 years now, I have had no issues. Everything seems to run fine. The water always runs smoothly and it doesn't seem to have any buildup.

I recommend Kinetico because they're honest. Instead of trying to sell you stuff, they tell you what you need. I have a water dispenser and I asked them to come out and change the water filters. They said they could do that and they'd have to charge me, but that they could send me a video and I could do it myself. I appreciated that. They were trying to save me money instead of making me spend more money. Their price was still fair too. A lot of other companies were charging 1000 dollars less, but with Kinetico, I'm paying for a good 10-year warranty, and I know that this company is gonna be around to call when I have issues.

We got their water softener, water filter and purifier and before we knew it, they installed it and we've been very happy with the product. We referred two families to get Kinetico, and at that time, Kinetico said if we got somebody else to take on the product, that we would be given $100. Both of the families told Kinetico that we referred them, but we only got payment for one of the families.

She also gave extra options that we didn't need so we didn't do any of that stuff. We got the whole house filtration system and water softener. It was four something grand, but I got two kids, so consuming the water for them is more important than pricing for me. The installer did everything up to code and that's what's important to me. I did a little bit of research into Kinetico when it became necessary to switch from the system that I had in the house originally. My parents used to have a Kinetico when we lived out in the country, and I never remember hearing any complaints about it. It doesn't use electricity to function was another plus and the cost to benefit relative to other machines that I could have purchased seemed like the better option overall. The rep didn't convince me to put it in but when I told him that I was leaning in that direction, he insisted that that was probably the better machine to go with. The installer was clean, polite and quick. I have a refrigerator water dispenser and I opted not to have that hooked up even though it was offered. So, I was offered a lot more than what I took of his services.

After the system was installed, there was a little bit difference in the texture of the water but more so the iron deposits I was seeing after the failure of my other unit started clearing up. The refrigerator water dispenser started running a little bit better although I ended up having a Kinetico RO system installed at the same time so, I got a lot of benefits from that. The service, the sales and the equipment have all been wonderful.

It was very pleasant with the sales rep and the installation was efficient and timely. It's been close to two years since we've had the Kinetico system and so far, it's been holding up to its filtering of the water and the ease of changing the filters. They stop running when the filters need to be changed so we don't have to monitor a light or anything of where the system is set up. The cost is high but we have the peace of mind of knowing that no matter what the amount of rain or runoff or what other people are doing around, the filter is catching all of that. Kinetico also told us about a stick that we can use to monitor the particles within the system. We did it to see if it truly is doing what they said it was doing, and so far, it has kept the particles well below the range that needs to be. If I were to purchase another home, I would have Kinetico installed or take it with me.

A young man came and was very pleasant. He had little test tubes that showed us what the water did. He answered our questions and was truthful from the things that we researched and what we already knew about how systems work. He was very straightforward and wasn't pushy. He spent an hour and a half with us and under normal circumstances, I would have felt that would have been much too long. But he did all of the chemical experiments at the kitchen sink. What impressed us most about him versus RainSoft was he went down to see where the water came into the house to make sure that there was enough room for tanks. He also told us, "I know nothing about the water heater, but you need to be aware that if there's something about your water heater that isn't working properly, it will affect the system." He also told us that occasionally, a water heater has to be replaced. Sure enough, we had to replace it and it was justifiable.

Kinetico is trustworthy. A lot so much now is not dependable or you buy a product and it doesn't work as advertised. But what Kinetico told me and my husband is reliable. The system works as advertised. It's fantastic and we've been happy with it. I only have to use one-fourth of the dishwashing liquid I ever use. I have to use one-fourth of the laundry detergent. It saves me money on that end also. It's great to wash your hair and clothes. The water is light and tastes natural. You don't feel like it's got any heavy chemicals in it. They've also come for our yearly inspection and replaced the filter.

We liked that it doesn't require electricity to run. They just go off the water pressure, which is a huge win. That was one of the biggest reasons we selected them. A lot of other filtration systems require electricity, so if someone's power is out, they don't have fresh, clean water.

I'm very happy with Kinetico. Our sales rep and the guy who came over to install the machinery were great. I called them. We bought some ozone generators from them, put those on our test pits and solved our problem.

When I came to this facility and we built our new test lab, it was easy to call Keith and get more ozone generators. This time, I had them put in a filter system for me to get all the impurities out of the water. Keith and I discussed that. We built a new house and we got really hard water out here. I had renovated a previous home where I had to replace all the plumbing fixtures because of how hard the water was. So, I decided I was gonna put in a water softener before we got that home finished. I noticed the water doesn't stain the porcelain as much as previously. Previously, at the other home, we would get some sort of deposits on the fixtures. It would clog up. Now, we don't see that. We get a little bit, but that's expected as hard as this water is. Our system is great. I pay a service fee monthly for those guys to come out and service it and take care of it because I work so much. I don't have time to deal with it. So, it's good.

The equipment gives us good drinking water, and it keeps the water cleaner and clearer. I have less staining, too. But I still notice that occasionally, we'd have an odor from the water. But that is probably not the system's fault but the well. We have a very high water table. Other than that, people have asked me what system I have and I have always mentioned Kinetico.

I purchased two light industrial water units and two reverse osmosis units. I replaced the system in place with a heavier duty one in my other home and bought a brand new one for another home. The installers were nice guys and did a good job. I have had to replace one of the filters on the new one already because there's so much iron in the water. They provide you with one filter but after that, you have to purchase them. The systems are not cheap but Kinetico is a great company. The lady in the office, Desiree, is super nice.

Kinetico Water Systems' equipment is top-of-the-line if you can afford their prices. I liked the quality of the product and knowledge of the technicians. Customer service was good. The installation was a day. It took what they told me it would take. I was satisfied.

The customer service was helpful and we got the tankless water softener from Kinetico. I would recommend them. The warranty was good and we like the product that was much smaller than the ones that we had previously. It took up less space and the salt lasted longer for this type.

We got a two-tank water softening system for 40 gallons as well as the carbon filter thing to take out the chlorine. Kinetico's reps were very knowledgeable, helpful, on time, and friendly. Since our purchase, the water is soft and we're very pleased with our experience.

I purchased Kinetico's water filter and the whole house filter. I called them, set up an appointment, and they were there in a few days. Their installation team was great. They answered all the questions and installed the equipment pretty fast.

We had a new build with a well, and we wanted to get a water system to purify the water, then a friend told me about Kinetico. We put in a whole house system when we built the house. It was expensive, but the water is great.

I have been having difficulty with my water softener since it was installed 2 years ago. Kinetico sent up 3 different techs who could not solve the problem. Finally, they sent up Douglas **. He was competent and experienced. He replaced some of the original parts in my water softener which were causing the problem. So, I really want to thank the team at Kinetico in Gaylord Michigan for not giving up on my complaint and finally resolving the problem. Specifically, I want to give a huge thank you to Douglas **. He is really a star!

A couple of weeks after I purchased the system, Kinetico’s techs came out right away and scheduled the installation. They did what I find that most contractors don't do anymore today, which is, they told me when they were gonna show up and they showed up. They did a marvelous job and were very thorough, professional and expensive. Russ, the guy who set the thing up in the beginning, spent time with my contractor. They decided where to run the water lines and hook-ups and have everything ready. So when they did come out another couple of weeks later, everything was ready for the technician. The technician took a few hours to install. But it went in quickly and easily. The system is great. It works very well and appears to be very efficient. I wasn't quite sure how to turn it off when I'm not there and I'm not there now. But the technician came out and walked me through the whole thing. It was very impressive.

I had plaque in the faucets and we were cleaning our faucets every month. But I don’t have that problem now with Kinetico’s system. Plus, I don’t smell and taste the chlorine like I used to. But it costs so much to change the filters every six months. It’s not that much with the salt. It has not gone down a whole lot because Kinetico filled it up good.
