The installation went well although, we were not running soft water for the first few weeks. We got the system in and the osmosis water filtration connected. Within the first couple weeks, it caused the water connection pipe to disconnect. We called them back for service and the technician said it couldn't possibly be their fault. But he went ahead and checked all the systems and that was when they determined that they had not turned on the system when they set it up. He set it all up so that we actually have soft water functioning. We love the system and we're really impressed. It provides really good quality water and we appreciate the water that we're drinking. It makes a huge difference in keeping all of our showers clean and the lavatory.

I love Kinetico or I wouldn't have bought it a second time. They gave me a complete pamphlet on when I need to change filters and how to monitor my salt. I have soft water now. If you want a system, buy a Kinetico.

We have a Kinetico RO system under the counter sink, and I drink all the water that comes out of it. I've purchased water filters for the purification system, and Kinetico put a water softener in for us, too, several months back. I noticed that the softener appears to be working better. The bubbles are greater in the water, and we have softer skin.
Kinetico's customer service has been great. I had to reorder filters again a couple weeks ago and had the choice of them coming out and doing it for us or mailing them to us, so I opted for the mail option. The reps were courteous on the phone, answered the calls, and were able to pull my account up with no problem. It was a quick delivery too. Kinetico is a large organization, so each office is gonna be different, but I'm very satisfied with the one in our area as well as the products that were installed.

Our house was a new build and so as soon as we were ready for the water softener, Kinetico came and installed it. So, timing was great and they were fantastic. After the installer put it in, he walked me through everything and I didn't have any questions when he left. They did the reverse osmosis thing for us and it's so good. It's the best water we've ever had and I love the drinking water in the kitchen. I also love the soft water in the shower. I could not be happier with the system.

I've always had good luck with Kinetico's techs. They are very responsive when I have an issue. They come out within a day or so and sometimes, on the same day. Also, everything seems to be working fine with the system. I don't get any more rust stains or anything like that.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for sharing this message. I would like to temper this that a normal service lead time is 3 - 7 days. Post covid era, most of our dealers are short handed.

We have well water at our cottage and it was discolored and had a rusty look to it. They said it was a lot of tannins in the water and it was probably safe to drink, but we didn't want it staining the laundry and the toilets. And it looks gross. The reps came out, explained everything and answered all my questions. They were helpful. We're happy with the Kinetico system. It’s great for well water because sometimes there are issues with well water. And it's nice to have something in place that can get it to where you want the water to be.

I've had a Kinetico system for years, and I just got a brand-new one put in last year. Install was slick as a button, and the system goes all the way through the home.

I wanted to get the filter changed but they don't have anybody to cover it. They gave me a day next month on the 5th of July. But I'm not using the filter anymore because the water doesn't taste good and I'm just buying water cases. That's a hassle. But overall, everything has been okay. I had an issue once and I called in. They told me that a guy would call me within 10 minutes and he did. We did a live video call and he fixed my issue. Kinetico's system is really easy to use. For service, I can just call them and they come over and fix it. They were really helpful and the product is good.

Kinetico's reps came into our house and did a test. Then, they gave us information on the results and did a sales pitch. They did very well and we ended up purchasing a water softener and the reverse osmosis faucet. Their installation took several hours and it went very smoothly. Someone came and put the equipment in in the garage, then he did the thing through the granite and put in the reverse osmosis faucet. The installer was not insanely friendly, but he did his job. He also told us about changing the filter every year at the faucet and about the salt. We signed up for the salt delivery and one time, they opened up the equipment and found that we were out of salt. We hadn't checked. So, they put a couple of bags in for us. Since we started using Kinetico, the water's softer and there's less buildup at our faucet.

I got Kinetico's osmosis product. I like it. It works good. It's the second one. We've had one for several years. We had to get another one because they couldn't get filters for the one we had. We got a lot better water pressure with the newer one. As far as them getting it set up, they were very good, except I didn't like the first installer. He didn't put it in right.

The rep who came out was a good sales agent and was very knowledgeable. Since having the system, the water is much softer and we don't have as much of the water residue type stuff. Also, Kinetico is easy to reach. If I have questions, I never have a problem contacting them and they're knowledgeable about their products.

We bought an existing house, and it had a lot of hard water stains all over the place. Kinetico did a chemical analysis and checked the water for hardness and other items. They determined that I had hard water and we needed to get a softener. Having the system has eliminated the hard water stains. Kinetico did a good job, and the system has worked great. We've had it for a year, and it's perfect.
I grew up with well water with a softener system, and it does something specific. When you're washing with soap, your hands still feel soapy. There's that really rubbery feeling whenever you wash your hands, but you don't have that with the softener. I also have a monitoring system on it, and it tells me when I need to put salt in. Kinetico also comes and does an inspection once a year. I talked to them in the past as well. They did my parents' home, too.

It was seamless and perfect with the team who set up the system. They've contacted me a couple of times to come back and do a post-thing review, which was standard for them. I've been happy with Kinetico. We've noticed an improvement on our skin and hair, and the water tastes better. My clothes seem to come out a lot whiter too when we do a wash. I've got a one-year maintenance scheduled for early July, but thus far, it's been really low maintenance. The only thing that really holds it back is it is a very expensive system.

Kinetico came and tested the water. They were easy to work with and I like the fact that they're local and their products are made in the US. They were helpful in sharing information about my water, the results that they found, and what options that translated into. The installation was shorter than what I expected. The system softens all of the water to the rest of the house.

They said that they would bring out salt, but I was not available the first time that they wanted to do that. I have not heard from them again. I'm also thinking about calling them to having them come check and make sure that the system is doing a good enough job. I haven't been through much salt at all, and I'm already getting lime deposits and things in my toilets.

Every time I called because I had a question, they were very polite and they worked with us. When we had an issue one time, they fixed it right away. When they came out, Kinetico's techs went straight to work and we had no issues with them.
We got the water softener and the equipment for the drinking water which goes in the sink so you can get water for whatever you want. We got it connected to the fridge as well so we can get drinking water from the fridge. When we first moved in, the first two weeks when we didn't have the water softener system, there were water spots everywhere in the sink when we would brush our teeth or wash our hands. In the kitchen sink as well, the faucet would be dirty with water spots. But now, we don't have those problems.

I've been dealing with Kinetico for over 20 years now. I bought a new house, and I had a system recently installed. At first, the experience wasn't good. I had spent around $3,700 for a system. When the technician came, he said that because I was on a slab, he couldn't put it over to my refrigerator because he couldn't move the dishwasher out. It was a new policy. We went back and forth, and he said he couldn't do it. He left.
A consumer care associate called and he, too, asked me about my experience. I told him what was going on. Kinetico is the recommended vendor for this community, and this whole community is on slabs. So, I said that, “I felt you should have known it was on a slab. And you shouldn't have sold me this big unit that I can't use.” He understood. He told me he would take care of it, which he did. He sent somebody out. They moved the dishwasher. They connected my refrigerator. They did it exactly how I wanted it. So, the end result was terrific.

I found a local dealer and I requested the specific Kinetico equipment that I was looking for. He gave me a quote and then he came and installed it. The installation looks very nicely done. The installer was very polite and cleaned up after himself. He educated me in the process and talked to me about the features and maintenance. After I've installed it, we haven't had any issues with our skin. I have clean water in the kitchen because I'm using their RO and there's a very big difference in the quality of the water overall. Also, there is minimal to no maintenance. We just replace filters every few months on the RO system and once in a while, replace the filter for the house. I'm really enjoying having Kinetico's equipment.

Ever since we've had Kinetico, we've had clean, soft water, and it resolved our issue with the high arsenic in our water. It's been great. My pipes even froze up during the winter, and Kinetico was quick to help me out and get it resolved. I can see it might be a little pricey once my warranty expires, but I'll cross that bridge when the time comes.

We've probably had the Kinetico system close to a year now and it's been working great. We use it for our drinking water and for making ice in the freezer. We have a water spout on the freezer door that we also use, which is the outer water. We wanted reverse osmosis water to get all the rest of the dissolved solids out of the water.

Kinetico's rep was knowledgeable and the installers did a good job. Since we started using the system, the quality of the water has been good, so far. But we had the reverse osmosis system put in as well, and after setting it up, they could have they had given a little bit of an overview of how some of the stuff works. There was an issue and I had to make a service call. It turned out that there's a safety mechanism built into it where it'll turn off if this piece of cotton gets wet. It was kind of a weird thing, but if they just told me about that, I would have figured it out and wouldn't have had to make a call. So, some training on some of the mechanisms of the reverse osmosis from the technicians after they installed it would be nice. Other than that, Kinetico is a little bit more expensive than other systems I've had before in my previous houses, but the convenience of being able to put it anywhere without having to worry about running electricity tips the scale.

I had gone with Kinetico on my second house and I liked them. Kinetico was at a home show and that's where I talked to them. I had them again in this new house. Everything was fine. The installation went well. They missed the water loop and I didn't realize it until my next door neighbor told me there was one. It wasn't their fault nor was it mine. They did a different way to route the system installation. The water works. If they did it, they did it and it's done. It's just that we didn't realize that behind the stationary tub was the water loop. No one tells you these things when you buy a house. On the whole, I would definitely recommend Kinetico. They're still friendly to me when I see them at the home show, so they must like me too.

Katie, it is never our intent to be a one and done company or disappear after the sale. We want to be your partner in better water for life.

I live in a condominium building, so where I needed to put my water softener, I didn't really have an electrical connection. Kinetico was perfect because this runs on water power. I had both a Kinetico water softener and also a drinking water filter put in. The installation was easy and really good. The guys were really professional and made a really nice-looking installation. The system's maintenance-free. I don't have to do anything to the one that's under the drinking water. Each month the local Kinetico dealer has a 20% off sale on salt. I just buy a bag of salt, and drop it in. They'll even deliver it for you if you want them to. One of the benefits of Kinetico is that when you're not using water, it doesn't use any salt. It's an amazing softener. Since having the system, there's a different feel to the water.

When I was talking to Kinetico, I felt that they were very honest. When they came in for the installation, they did everything that I would hope it would be, which is less is more. They tried not to invade space. They did a good job as far as trying to do minimal of where they had to put the system. They didn't try to rush anything. They brought me in for each decision instead of going in and telling me what they would be doing. The only thing I need to do is change the filter. I thought we had it set up that they would come out in six months and do it. But apparently, we did not. But I can always call them, have them come out and show me how to do that. Periodically, it'll have a ton of water come out of it and it looks like a waterfall going down the driveway. I don't know if that's normal or not.

The salespeople of Kinetico were great. They were friendly, helpful and answered my questions. They were quick to get back to me by email. We bought an extra Doppler detector that detects the salt level in the water softener systems. It tells you the level of the salt via internet of things. I have an app but it has never worked. The Doppler system might work just fine, but it's not connecting to my internet. I even bought an extender for my daughter, but also for this. I could have put it in her room, but I decided to put it midway between. It still doesn't work. I'm doing everything that they told me to do. I'm going through the steps and it's still not doing it. But we had one maintenance issue where we had a leak in the system. I called them and they came out ASAP. They fixed it and it was free of charge.

There's a filter on the Kinetico system that I change once a year. I might put salt in, but they don't take a lot of salt. But I don't like to fill it to the top either because it doesn't use it fast enough. So, it bridges. I only put a couple of bags a couple of times a year. We don't have that brown discoloration. And we don't have the odor with it. Also, it's easier to comb my wife's hair when she gets out of the shower and when I do the blow-drying.

The reps from Kinetico were friendly, provided very good customer service, answered questions, and worked with me on the space where I needed to put the system because I had limited space. They also offered all the different products they had and did the water test to show the additional things they could do. I was very impressed with them. They were great. The system that sits out in my garage is compact and doesn’t take a lot of space. The techs come once a month and service it for me. If needed, they check it. If it doesn't need anything, they don't do anything and I don't get charged. I'm only charged a month. If they have to add salt to it, they come and take care of that for me. Since the installation of the system, there are less deposits in the showers, utensils and dishes. You could tell it made a big difference. I heard that hair becomes brittle and can affect the color of it but none of that has occurred.

The water was really hard. One time, I had an incident where I couldn't brush my hair. Kinetico's product is very good. It has resolved the issues I had. The salesperson was very good. But my issue was the service. After I purchased the system, there was a freeze that happened, and a couple of days later, I noticed the water filter was not working. They didn't actually investigate it. They just assumed that the unit had frozen and was malfunctioning because of that. That was not the actual issue. It was not broken in any way. It needed to replace the parts that could have easily been done there. Instead, Kinetico uninstalled the entire unit and brought it to a warehouse and did not tell me where it was. They did not give me a tracking number or any sort of information. They never contacted me.
I called them Monday, Tuesday, and on Wednesday. I called them twice on Thursday. No one could tell me where my unit was. No one could give me a time estimate of when the unit would be repaired, which again was not broken. They had not diagnosed the problem correctly. So, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and finally got Kinetico to call me to come reinstall my unit. But after they reinstalled the unit, it was still broken. I called Kinetico again and said, "Listen, it's still broken." Another technician comes out and says, "Well, this part needs to be replaced." He replaced it and the unit worked perfectly. So, they wasted all my time. They had me call them five times a week. It was a really bad experience. I tried to get a refund so I could get rid of Kinetico and just get a new product, but unfortunately, that timeframe had passed. So, I am stuck with Kinetico unless I wanna be out $5,000, which I don't.

Our interactions with Kinetico there on site were great, but then they came out and did a water test, and it was fascinating. It kind of closed the deal. We got a reverse osmosis recently. I purchased a softener a long time ago, but I brought it with me from my other house. Since having these systems installed, I can tell a difference in our water 1000%. If the softener is running low on salt, my skin gets bad. I need more conditioner, and then I immediately know to add more salt, and I'm back in business. Then from an RO perspective, we don't buy bottled water anymore, so that's been a huge savings.
Kinetico's customer service is super responsive and they get back to me very quickly. When I was installing the filters in the RO, I was having trouble and called them, and they walked me through it right away and sent me a YouTube. They were very helpful. Everyone should get Kinetico. It's worth the money. It seems expensive at first, but it's worth it.

Hi Jerene,
Thanks for sharing. We are happy to know your life is better with better water!
Be certain to ask your installer about the salt monitor. It will keep track of your salt for you and notify you when it's time to add more.

I had a Kinetico system for 18 years and the company that I used to install the first one no longer use Kinetico, so I went to a different company and asked them to give me a new one because I like the product so much. When I made the purchase, the reps explained to me how the products work because I also bought the reverse osmosis system and I had had water softeners prior. I have a big family and I was happy that it was an on-demand system because I got the double-tank Kinetico. When I didn’t have it, my clothes were crappy when I take them out of the washing machine because I have hard water. And my hair and skin dries out. I've had the system since last summer and it works well. As long as I keep the salt in it, I always have soft water, which is nice. In my old system, the system would regenerate at night and it was noisy.

The installation was easy and straightforward. The installers came when they were scheduled and took care of it quickly, and everything was neat, tidy and operational. I can feel the softener, particularly in the shower, make your skin feel softer. The tap water out of the sink now tastes just as good as what we used to run through Brita filter. So, I don’t have any issues just drinking straight out of the tap for water anymore. Kinetico’s system seems to be working just as it was advertised.

I was noticing that over time, there was a build-up where I drink water from the refrigerator. I have been hearing from colleagues that they've been installing a water system so I should probably do that too. I got Kinetico and I know that it was one of the good ones. That was what was recommended. There was a reverse osmosis system and the on-demand water softener.
Since having the system installed, I've noticed that the water was coming good when I tested it. When the system was installed, there was a sensor. That sensor needs WiFi connection but it could not connect because it's outside. I couldn't know salt readings. I called Kinetico and told them, but they didn't take any action. I figured out a way by folding an aluminum foil. I lifted the door, put half of the aluminum foil inside and half outside then stuck it with some sellotape. The signal started coming to it. But the fact that nobody was giving me answers was a little frustrating. The biggest thing was Kinetico did not come and do a check until six months later. And all this while, the system was not doing anything for me. So, there has to be a way to know how the system is working. I bought a test kit so I can know now.
I spent 11k which is a good amount of money. But the installation was shady and I didn't like it. They put the system outside in my yard and they had to dig. All the grass is gone there and the plumping that they did was not deep enough. They put the pipe very close to the ground and not deep enough. They cut the existing pipes and I can see holes in them. When they took it to the box, that place was dug up and they left a mess there. They left it that day without finishing the work. They said they were going to come back in a week. They came back after three weeks. They did not do the job properly in a professional way. The installation could have been done better.
After installation, nobody came to check the quality of the water and I've been calling them to do that. After maybe six months, I finally got somebody to come take a quality test and the quality of the water was not very good. They opened the system and changed some wheels. They adjusted some things and the water got better.

They then gave us the recommendations and the quote. It was the best value for us. The system upkeep is good, as long as we understood the system such as keeping the maintenance stuff as far as changing salt and filters. One time somebody turned off a valve the wrong way. Since having the water systems installed, we don't have the calcification issue anymore and you feel cleaner when you bathe. It seems like you use less water, because the soap just glides off a lot smoother. So overall, it's been great.
I've never had a water system before in my house. I could never afford it before but now, I can, and I'm happy with it. It's very low maintenance and I just add salt. But I need somebody to train me on how to change those filters, because they probably need to be changed now. The filters are changed yearly and this July will be a year that it's been installed. I work 9 to 5 and it's hard for me to take time off from work to meet the reps from Kinetico during business hours.

I purchased a water treatment system when I first came into this neighborhood 40 years ago. I had a water softener and it had to be updated. I changed over to Kinetico. Their reps were very good and efficient. With the system I have now, I don't have to change the filter as often. Also, they are reusable if they are washed. Kinetico recommended it and it does work. It's just they cost a lot more. The other thing is Kinetico is located quite a ways from where I'm at. It makes it a little more difficult if you wanna go pick up parts or supplies. I wish it was more local. Other than that, the system is okay.

I've had Kinetico for 30 years. The quality is up and down. We got a blast of brown one time in the laundry, I guess from the rust in the pipes but just let it go. Right now, I don't have to do anything for the upkeep. I just get salt in it. Kinetico has a spring. You got two tanks. When the water goes through, it pumps the spring up until it gets so much pressure and it clicks and kicks over to the other tank. Overall, for the money, I don't think it's worth it. The other one I had is creeping up on 30. I just got a new one. It cost me $6,200. It's a newer model. Also, I'm not too happy with Gordon Brothers. They sent a salesman here. He came and he wrote a contract down, and he didn't honor it. They said they were going to fix my water softener.

We have a Kinetico water treatment system in our house in Michigan, and we like it, so we wanted one in Florida. The Kinetico rep was a very nice guy over the phone, and I did everything over the phone with them. The actual dealer has been great to work with, but we're not satisfied at all with our system. We use the drinking water faucet. They installed the system in August, and we had that crazy hurricane, so we were down back in October. Once it's about four weeks in, there's no pressure in the system. We've had them out four times to redo it. Now, this last time was just about two weeks ago, and they put another filter on the side of the house, but I was charged two times before that for them to come out. I paid for the system, and then no one calls me back. Other than that, the gentleman that I dealt with, Rick, was great to deal with. He tried.

Hi Bryan,
We have reached out to the your dealer to have them review this concern and regain your confidence.

We had Kinetico before and we were happy with it. It had been a reliable product and lasted about 30 years. The technology had changed and improved, so it couldn't be repaired. We replaced it with another Kinetico system. The system is a little spendy, but if you amortize it over the period of time you’re gonna have it, it’s not bad. There was a little gap in there of two or three months and you could notice the feel of the water. The system makes a difference. On this one, you can see the filter that's in there because it's in a transparent plastic container. They were saying when I see the thing getting dark, I should take it, rinse it out, and put it back in there.

The company was really good and the products are really efficient. The representative was very informative. He answered all my questions, and he was really good. The technician was really good, but we had some issues. He said that he wasn't told that he was gonna have to go under the house to do the installation. The representative told me that Kinetico has different types of installs. He had made notes and I saw him typing this stuff out, so I don't know what happened. I don't know if it was supposed to be installed differently, but the hoses are on the ground. The installer didn't know that he had to connect the water to the icebox, so they had to come back and do that later.
The outside water was supposed to stay regular, and they connected it to the water softener. We told them about that, so he made a separate line, but he put it into the siding of the house on the bottom. But when they put it in there, it's not secure. So when my wife and I got it watering the grass or plants, it moves around. We complained about that and they said they were gonna come out and fix it, but no one ever came back out. The customer service was not very good. I had to go online to call the 1-866 number. The filters went out on the under the sink system, and for about a week, we were calling the local company here to get them to come out or order the filters, but we couldn't get ahold of anybody. We just kept getting voicemails. When I called back within a day or two, I got a callback. But they didn't have the filter, so I just picked them up yesterday.

It worked out well. Dealing with Kinetico reps has always been positive. We have plenty of experiences with bad water from Arizona, Idaho, and Iowa. So, we've always had Kinetico systems throughout all of those different homes. There were all kinds of debris in the water in Arizona and it was significantly improved. The whole house filter would have to be cleaned every three months, and that would be the same color as the ground after what it was filtering out of the water system. Kinetico seemed they had more information about their company. They were expensive but a safer bet. They came out the day they said they would. The reverse osmosis itself, I'm not a huge fan of it. Try it out first to see if you like it. Filters are expensive for the amount, since it has almost been one year. The amount of water that I use out of it would require two maintenances. So, it would need two sets of filters every six months. And the maintenance plan that I got with them only covers for one of that. And considering those prices of those filters for the reverse osmosis by itself, it's not worth it. If they extend it to two times a year for that maintenance plan, that would be better. But the products are very high quality. Also, there are a lot less of that pink stains that happen around the toilet rings and showers. So, the iron was reduced. I would recommend Kinetico.

It’s not been a high priority of mine to make sure he’s there, nor has it been his to follow up with me. That's my only disappointment. We have the drinking system too that goes right to our refrigerator. And that water is phenomenal.
They would come out and replace the filter on there and add salt to the tank as needed. Then seven months ago, I started getting a slight sulfur smell in my water. They came out and tested that and told me what the problem was and told me what I should do. I ended up holding off on it because it was so expensive. But then the sulfur smell went away. But I received another bill two months after saying I still owed another month's time. I called them. I said, "No, I paid this off." The rep said, "Yes, you did. I see that here. Okay, so you do not owe it." But then here came the next month's bill cycle again, and I received another bill. I called them up and I said, "No, I've paid this off." The rep said, "You are right. I know I remember you calling me up. No, you do not. I will make sure that this time, it's taken off."

Hi Julie,
Our records show a water installed for you in 2021. Water softeners are not sulfur treatment systems. We would advise asking your area dealer to identify if the odor is coming from the well or the water heater.
From the well requires treatment. From the water heater requires adjustments to the water heater.
Is your softener performing as designed? Soft, iron free water.
We are sorry for the billing errors from your dealer. We will touch base with the management team of your dealer to help resolve your concerns.

Our rep was very good. But I was taken aback by him in the sense that he told me that he was going to bring the lid to cover my system to protect it from the sun and he never did that. Also, customer service needs improvement. I had some problems with the system and it seems that there were some rings around the tank that I saw had some leaking. They had to come out and replace two of the tanks because the water was spewing up from the leaking area. We make upgrades to the system if things like this happen.
One concern I had was they had to send the tanks back to the manufacturing company. I was charged $25 for the fee to send it back and I asked, “Why am I being charged $25 to send it back? I did nothing wrong.” I paid $25 both times because I had two tanks that we sent back. I was not pleased with that. I wasn't reimbursed. The system is also expensive, but it works. What I bought was a deal to soften the water, and to put some treatment in because I have copper pipes and fittings in the house, and they eat through after a while so Kinetico put an additive filter in. That's the primary reason I got it, and they do the maintenance on it. Originally, it was done quarterly, now it's annually. There are just some challenges in the service side with the timing, and even just calling back if I would leave a voicemail message.
As far as the installation, the system was not set up in the same format and in the way that the salesperson said it could be. He said it could stay in a very compressed area or a small area, and it was a much larger footprint. The end product was not quite what we envisioned and it took up a lot more of the room downstairs than we had desired. The other thing is, one of the equipment pieces was faulty and it shut down our water system twice. In one of them, we had to pay for them to come out and service. Even though the service guy told us that it was a flaw in the system and they were taking lots of them out.

Kinetico is real expensive. It also goes through a lot of salt every month. I put two bags of salt monthly. I'm not sure how many drain plugs it’s supposed to have. I see one of them that’s not hooked up, but a lot of water comes out of it. It also froze up over the winter. We had to wait for it to thaw out then it came back on again. It needs better insulation. We built this little house that goes around it to hopefully keep it warm, but it didn't work. The lines that go outside all the way down along the side of the house are the ones that will freeze up and prevent water from going into the house.
On our refrigerator that has a water dispenser, if the water drips and it sits on it, it will dry up, and you can see a salt ring. When you put new salt into the system, it is salty for the first gallon. After that, it's okay. Everybody who has come to the house and see how the system works likes the idea. I like it mainly because it doesn't run off of the power system and it only runs when the water is running through it. It saves us money on that part.

My Kinetico system is in the basement and anytime I have my laundry done, when water is coming to my sink in the basement, or when in the morning it's scheduled time over there, I'm having tremendous sound coming out from the sink in my kitchen. That bad that actually wakes all house up and I have a huge house. It's really scary.
A couple of times, I just ran downstairs because I thought it was something like a bomb being over there. Another thing that I'm having is the smell of the water never stopped. Anytime I wash my face, I want to puke because of that smell in the water. I already called Kinetico a couple of times but they never resolved that issue, even though I have the additional, very expensive thing installed connected to the Kinetico. I'm not as happy with Kinetico so far. It's a very expensive system. I feel like it's a waste of money. We did both the reverse osmosis and the full house system. The install was quick. I was at work, but they were able to get over there and take care of it and be done in a day. Our water definitely has improved. The main things that we saw before we got Kinetico was the taste of the water and showering. It felt like the water was still there when we got done. It felt very hard and dirty. Now, things seem to wash better. It's not leaving marks on the dishwasher with the dishes, and we feel better in the shower. It doesn't feel like we're still dirty afterwards.
I would tell people about our experience and how good it's been. The biggest downside was that Kinetico tended to be the more expensive option, so it would just depend on their budget. Otherwise, we’d let people know that we've been very happy with what we've gotten so far. Kinetico also offered the zero interest loan to help out, but the cost was still the same regardless. Kinetico is very expensive but it's worth the extra money. We've also used the reverse osmosis system. We really like the water. Our ice cubes and the water that we drink are cleaner.

I purchased a Kinetico two-tank system in 2014 and got a second one in 2021. It was the same set-up but I added an ice maker that they had at the time. I live in Texas and there's nothing but hard water and extremely hard water here. So it was either that or replace your appliance in every couple of years, so I decided to get a water system to take all that away. The place in San Antonio was the first company that answered my call so I went with them and it was great. In Harlingen, Texas where I live now, it’s absolutely horrible. If I would have had this experience the first time, I would have never bought Kinetico ever again.
There was nothing but lies in Harlingen. They said they didn't have any filters and other stuff, but they would give me a free upgrade. I didn't understand their upgrade because for the first time with the Kinetico system, I was getting a lot of white residue over everything. I asked them why and they said that it's because that filter puts all the minerals and everything back into the water. I asked what the purpose of their water treatment is if they're gonna put the minerals back in. That makes no sense to me so I made the rep take out that new filter that they said was higher-end and replaced it with the filter I had from the past. They don't tell you the full truth. When I bought the ice maker, it was shutting down every six months for them to come out and charge me $200 to clean it. I was there for every cleaning and there was nothing to clean. The system's clean now but I don't trust this company in Harlingen. I buy my filters online.
I’ve never seen the system being outside and the reps put it there, which I don’t like. They were just lazy. But the water is prime since I’ve had the system installed. There’s no smell in it. I don't like water but I will drink the water out of the RO. My dogs and birds only get RO water. They don't even get the soft water coming out of the regular faucet. So my family and I love the RO system and that RO system is what feeds our ice machine as well as our refrigerator. My wife likes it because it provides a better shower, too. She doesn't have to use as much shampoo and conditioner.

Hi Joseph,
The Kinetico K5 drinking water station significantly reduces chemical, metals and minerals that might be in a water supply. The reduction of minerals, metals and chemicals makes the water a solvent. Many people prefer the ability to add back calcium and magnesium to the water. This returns the water to a neutral pH. The purpose of the unit is to remove the unwanted and Kinetico provides the ability to add back in the wanted minerals. Of course, you do not need to use the mineral filter.
Outside installations are very common through out all the southern states. Regardless of the brand of water treatment used.
We are glad to see your water is 'prime' since having your water treatment products installed. Please feel free to contact Kinetico Customer Support directly at 800.944.9283 or customersupport@kinetico.com with concerns you may have.

The installation went without a hitch. The guys dug a hole and fixed it after they were done. It looks like it had never been messed with. It was great. Since having the system, there's no lime build-up in the showers and no smell in the water.

The installation of our Kinetico system was fine. We didn't have any problems getting the installer here, but he was a little bit disorganized and had to keep going away and coming back because he didn't have the right part or the right tool. We had some difficulty with the original filter that was installed at the point of service system at the outside of the house because that kept flushing carbon particles into our water for weeks. Eventually, it needed to be replaced and that wasn't great. But other than that, we've enjoyed having the system.
We're using it in a different place and I don't have to haul five-gallon bottles all over the place anymore, which is nice. However, it would be nice if there was an option to add a fluoride canister to put fluoride back into the water. Because it's frustrating to have to buy plastic bottles of water. We have a nice, expensive system here. But, I don't want my baby to have holes in his teeth. But I have been very happy with the product.

The installers from Kinetico gave me the whole scoop and they did what they needed to do. The installation was all very efficient and thorough. Recently, I had to have the whole thing worked on and it's been great. It was a combination of filter and the new tech kind of up the ante. I was on a five and they increased the system to seven. And since then, it's been fine. I've also had good response from Kinetico and they've been very supportive.

thanks Leslie! We appreciate you!

Gordon Brothers installed our Kinetico water system. They were wonderful. Nicole, the salesgirl that took care of us, put everything in order for us. She was great to work with and spoke with us every step of the way. She sent someone who had been doing th installation for many years. They explained everything to us. They were quick and clean. Our water is much softer with the system. I hate buying bottled water. I like the quality of the water. My husband does, too. He was the more picky one about it, but he has no complaints. I had a little bit of an issue with my skin and I've seen a difference. I would get very itchy after showering and it's not like that anymore at all.

I like the fact that the Kinetico system gives more water pressure than our old one did. The only thing I don't like about it is that I hear the sound of dripping regularly. But this one works better. I also got good service when I requested it. I also liked the people who did it.

Everybody over at the location at Manassas was really wonderful and friendly. I like how the rep, Randy, educated me on the difference between other water filtration systems. Also, I have an RO system and I like having the convenience of an RO system in the kitchen. I had two installers come by and the installation was a quick job. They showed me what to do and what to look for.

I'm not real happy with the system and I wish I had gone with a different one that treated more than just making the water soft. I have contacted Kinetico a couple of times and nothing was ever rectified. It's not worth it.

Hi Dennis,
We are sorry to read of your displeasure. Your concerns have been reviewed with your area dealer.
Florida is notorious for hardness, tannins and sulfur. A water softener will do as it's named, it softens the water. Using citric acid and tannin resin in the softener, low levels of tannins can be addressed.
Sulfur does require additional treatment. We welcome you to contact Kinetico Customer Support directly at 800.944.9283 or customersupport@kinetico.com if you would like further information.

My water softener was 4 months past their 5 year warranty due to a problem with its control head. Their solution; replace my water softener. Why? Because they only give repair parts to units under warranty. Terrible business model, terrible company.

Hi Jerrell,
This is Jesse, the Customer Support representative you spoke with on Tuesday February 7th. My apologies, my impression when we talked was that you called simply to verify the length of the warranty and what is covered. We were left believing that you were not calling for help and had already made arrangements to replace the unit and all was well. I will call you shortly to discuss what we are able to do to assist with the Sumo softener that you have.

Changing the water filter used to be inexpensive, but now I pay 239 and it's a big job. Also, I used to buy a lot of bottled water to drink and I did the math and it's cheaper to buy bottled water than it is to change this the filter. At the end of the day, I just buy bottled water and I just use that more for cooking and stuff. But the product is wonderful and so are the people that we deal with. They've been extremely nice and always accommodating.

We had hard water and it didn't taste very good. I got the reverse osmosis system from Kinetico and I get a filter change once a year. The water is pretty high quality now and it's better than bottled water.

When we purchased our reverse osmosis unit from Kinetico, the sales rep was pretty cool. He came out and spent three hours running lines to our fridge into our sink and fiddling with the machine. He did a really good job. Our system consists of a black box on the wall and we put mineral stuff in it as often as recommended. The unit is in the basement near our sump pump and we go right down there to do it. It comes with the canister with the minerals that you just switch out. So far, the flavor of our water is less cluttered. With tap water, you can taste hoses, pipes, and chemicals. But with this water, you don't get that and it’s more clean.
The water softener is another deal. I love that thing and it is a machine saver. Everybody has problems with mineral buildup in their dishwashers, and their washing machines go out really fast. But ours are solid because the water doesn't have clutter in it. I also noticed that there's less buildup on my hair when I shower. And the soap lathers and washes off so much better. With the way the minerals are in the water in this area, I'd tell everybody to get a Kinetico water softener for the longevity of their appliances, enjoyment of showers, and to make it easier to clean the kitchen and bathrooms.

Thanks Gwen! Glad you're enjoying your water!

The sales rep of Kinetico was very good and knowledgeable. The technician who came out was very good too. I had a couple of follow-ups and it was excellent. The installation was also excellent. The installers were on time and they tested the whole house to make sure that it was connected. We went to six bathrooms and sinks. We noticed that the main sink, which is the kitchen sink, the water’s still coming. We ended up finding out that the main sink was not connected to the water softener. If we didn't do that test, we would probably still have no filtered water in my main sink. I love everything about Kinetico. It's an excellent system. I highly recommend Kinetico and I recommended it to six people. However, only one of them went because it was just too pricey.

I've always had a Kinetico system, and I've been completely satisfied with them, not only with their products but with the local Kinetico dealer as well. I first heard about Kinetico back in 1999 for a water softener for a new construction home. In 2006, I bought my first reverse osmosis system, and I'm on my fourth one now. I keep moving, so I keep having to change it. My system is for the kitchen sink for as far as the drinking system goes. When the filters go, it stops working, and I pick one up. There are two filters in it and I replace them, which is not that difficult.

We had moved into a new house and it's on well water. There was a sulfur smell. In addition to that, we had the normal problems of iron in the water. My wife had done some online research. Then we found Mermaid Water. We called them up and they told me about the Kinetico systems when they came. We needed to get the three Kinetico systems. The installers were great.
The Kinetico system definitely took care of all the concerns with the smell. There's one issue we have every now and then with some dark sediment. We tried to narrow it down. Mermaid has been out a couple of times to figure it out. We can't figure out what it is. I don't know if it's the system or what. But the water quality has been good. It's also easy to maintain. It's convenient and does its job. We've been happy with Kinetico.

I refer all my people who ask me about my system to Kinetico. I had a new system installed and their service was good as always. I also have no issues so far. With Kinetico, I know what to expect. The water will eventually get softer. But all my other homes have been brand new homes. This system is two years old so I can see a little bit change in the dishwasher and the hardness is starting to come off of the side plates of it.

I had a 20 yr old Kinetico system which was great. I replaced it with the same but new system. Shortly thereafter I started having a hard water problem. They tested my system & said it now needed an additional tank as something changed in the water table. Fine, I had that new tank installed. The installer neglected to insert the hose into the drain so when the system cleansed itself the waste water went all over the carpet in my finished basement & also destroyed my new ceiling tiles stored nearby. They came back to insert the hose in the drain (which I already did) & said that they need to anchor it.
After they left, I looked & the serviceman had kinked the hose so no water could pass. I had to go to the hardware, get a new fitting & fix it myself. I called & wrote to the company & they said they'd take care of cleaning my carpet & replacing by destroyed ceiling tiles. I sent them the invoices, called, left VM messages but after weeks of doing so, I'm only getting ignored. This could have been a good resolve but I'm hugely upset with their lack of attention to loyal customers. Looks like I'll have to go to small claims court to get paid back.

Hello Thomas,
We have tried to reach you via email to further discuss these concerns. We are sorry we have not been able to connect.
Your history has been thoroughly reviewed by our management team. We show equipment installed in 1995, 2017 and 2022.
We respectfully disagree with your assessment of horrible service over the course of 28 years. There are many discrepancies in your description of the events which we have no need to air publicly.
Suffice it to say, your 1 service concern over the course of 28 years was addressed properly, the issue was site related and your rating is found to be incorrect and unfair.
Rest assured, Kinetico values you as a customer and will continue to take care of all your water treatment needs for another 28 years.
