I got the water softener and the dechlorination product from Kinetico. I got black countertops in my kitchen and we got really hard water. I got tired of that in the bathroom, in the kitchen, and the tiles. Kinetico is doing very well. I've had other brands and I wasn't really happy with them. Since using Kinetico, we've had really great water. I'm really impressed with the product.

We purchased our Kinetico system in late 2022 and have enjoyed the softer water and ease of use. HOWEVER...one day I go into the garage and there's water all over the floor, coming from one of the two towers. OK, no biggie, it's in warranty, so I call the company. ELEVEN DAYS later they finally get a tech out to fix it, for the low, low price of $199. So much for a warranty. Lo and behold, the tech wasn't provided any parts, so no repair. TEN more days go by, after I had to call them back several times to get a status of my repair when the manager was to call me back - NEVER happened - I get a scheduled time for them to come out and repair it...for the low, low price of $97. So much for a warranty. Run, run, RUN away from these charlatans.

Everything worked great with Kinetico. We bought a whole house water system. We can't use the waters that comes out of the tap, and we had an under-sink little one for a while, but we wanted something for the whole house. Kinetico's product was more expensive than most, but it's good. The system’s worked flawlessly now for a year or so. It's exactly what we wanted. Our water is clean and perfect.

I live on a ranch with well water and there weren’t a lot of options in the area that came up, but Kinetico seemed like the most effective and has the least maintenance option. The installation of the system was great. Since then, we don’t have to worry about hard water stains and the reverse osmosis filtered out the well water and made the water drinkable. Kinetico’s products worked well for us.

We live in an area that has a community well and the water was just not clean and caused a lot of stains in our tub and toilet. We had a RainSoft water filter system years ago that dealt with the salt system. We checked around and decided to go with RainSoft because they had not only the salt system and all, but they also have a separate additional system that goes through the filter after the salt. The main thing that we enjoy about it is the reverse osmosis. That gives us good drinking water. Their customer service was good, too. However, I'm not sure I would refer the system. It's just expensive and you can probably get something that is a lot cheaper.

Brian from Rabb Water came out and helped my Mom pick a water filtration system suitable for her needs. Shaw later came out and installed the new system in a professional manner. He was knowledgeable and concise in his instructions on maintaining the system in laymen's terms. Thanks! Great tasting water.

Thank you to Consumer Affairs. After making this review, the branch Manager reached out to me and sent someone out. There was a little debris in the line to fill the saltwater tank. I took 20 minutes to figure it out and fix it. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years plus and always trusted them, so pleased to see they could get this resolved, just wish the last tech could have found this problem during the last service.

Be aware. We have hired this company and installed it with them. This last visit in October was $1200 and it never worked the CEO of the company just recommended us to spend another $3100 with them. Very disappointed. Be cautious with dealing with this company.
Hello Mason,
Thanks for taking the time to make Kinetico Incorporated aware of your concerns. We have reviewed these concerns with the area Kinetico dealer, American Water Conditioning.
The management team of American Water Conditioning has explained that service was provided to a 10 year old product that was 5 years out of warranty. The unit was damaged by chlorine.
American Water Conditioning installed a carbon pre-filtration unit to protect the unit from further chlorine damage and repaired the existing unit.
The damage to the unit was at no fault of Kinetico, the Kinetico product or the dealer. But in an effort to regain your confidence, this billable work and products were provided to you at no charge in an effort to regain your confidence.

The system I had was antiquated and could not be serviced. So Kinetico upgraded it. The installation was fine. I got a consult from one of Kinetico's contracted providers, and it was pretty seamless. Our water is noticeably less hard now than my previous situation.

We've had a Kinetico. We're on our second Kinetico softener. I like them ‘cause they're pretty much worry-free. About once a year, you have to clean the tank. But it's not a big deal. I don't have to hire anybody to do that. And that's easy enough. The main thing that we have found, especially when you own your own well, you have to put a filter in front of the water coming into the house, ‘cause most domestic wells tend to suck up a little bit of sand and yuck stuff. It keeps it out of the filtration system on that softener. Makes them last longer.
I liked our original dealer here in town, years ago, the first one we bought from. We had to buy our second one from TLC Plumbing and they did okay. But I just think the other little home-owned one was better, ‘cause they're more personal. We've owned our own home and had our own well here for a long time, almost 50 years. We started with a Sears softener. We had three different brands. We had Sears, Culligan, and something else. But, they just wouldn't hold up. We finally sucked it up and bought a Kinetico, which is expensive. That's the only drawback. But they also do a very good job. I think the expense outweighs what they do.
We use it for drinking water as well. But I have a carbon filter on the drinking water in the kitchen just to help. The potassium doesn't seem to bother anything. I know the salt tends to bother some people, but potassium is a lot gentler on your body. Also, I run the softener out into a fluid tank and water the trees with it. And the bushes and stuff. The system is worth the money, even though you have to pay more.

I bought an old house that was on well water that had no water filtration system at all when I moved in and I had one installed. Kinetico bought out a company that I had done business with, and I am dissatisfied with them. A couple of years ago, around the time my annual service was due, they sent out a flyer that was deceiving. I thought that a technician was gonna come out and test the water. They were gonna pitch the new system to me but they would also service me because they weren't just a salesperson. Instead, the technicians came out and tested the water and told me I got to do this, this and this. They didn’t service me, so I don't even know where I'm at with the whole servicing the line.
The technicians used to come in annually, check the tank to see if it needed salt, dump it out in the yard, and refill it. I never had to buy a single bag of salt or handle that maintenance myself. That was for the main filtration system going into the house, which has two big tanks that look like overgrown oxygen tanks. We also have a secondary system, which is the reverse osmosis system. The technicians were telling me I need to replace it because Kinetico doesn’t make that technology anymore and I have to upgrade to a newer system that will cost thousands of dollars. They said the bladder is going to go bad and that the system is contained, so there’s no way to replace the bladder on the old unit. In the meantime, I bought a water pitcher with a filter. I still use the separate line for things like coffee or watering plants, but I don’t know how filtered that water is.
I've been meaning to get back in touch with Kinetico. I just saw some marketing material this morning and thought about calling them. But then, I put them in the back of the pile because my last experience with them was not good. It could be just my interpretation of how it all went down. It felt like a bait-and-switch kind of a deal. But it may not have been. It may have just been serendipitous that it was right around the time of the servicing and maybe I should have called twice. But it said to call to make an appointment and I did. And I got a salesperson, not a tech person.

We have a community well, and we have very hard water. A lot of people in this neighborhood have Kinetico, and they love it. It's very popular. We got a water softener and a water treatment system, but I didn’t like how they handled appointment scheduling. It was mostly done through texting and emailing, which is very annoying. Their whole system is crazy and the servicing has become more expensive. You need salt and filters and when the techs come out to service the unit, they don’t bring them. While I can buy the salt at Home Depot, the filters have to be ordered, which means paying for shipping. The Kinetico techs should have filters on their truck when they come. But the system itself works well and I would recommend it. The water has become soft, though it doesn’t last very long. At times, it seems hard. When I asked them about it, they had a good explanation. Overall, my experience was good, but occasionally irritating.

I was very pleased with Owen Water Conditioning but my communication with Kinetico was not good at all. When I contacted their office to request technical data sheets on the products we were considering, the representative I spoke with was very rude, disrespectful, and not helpful. If she worked for me, I would have probably terminated her position. I would probably recommend her to go to a Dale Carnegie course and learn some business etiquette. If I didn't already have $20,000 worth of their equipment installed in my house, there's no way I would ever recommend Kinetico from a manufacturer standpoint ever again. I have water softeners, tannin filters, automatic backwashing carbon filters, a multimedia sediment filter, and a reverse osmosis drinking water system, since we pull water from a lake for our home.
The installation and appointment setup were handled by Owen Water Conditioning, and that experience was perfect. They knew what they were doing. The water is great since we had the system installed. We send water samples to a lab every three months for both the reverse osmosis system and the regular water system, and the results consistently come back excellent. For anyone interested in a system, if they’re dealing with the contractors, I would highly recommend. If they're dealing with Kinetico itself, I would look for a Culligan product. I would rate Owen Water Conditioning 5 stars across the board. But I'd give 1 star for Kinetico's customer service.

I had problems with my softener not long after getting it installed! It would not cycle or regenerate and we felt that our water was not soft! After speaking with a representative, it was suggested to install a new disc for harder water problems! Service man replaced the disc, to no avail ! Still not cycling and water still felt hard! They finally decided to replace the entire head! Worked great for quite a while but in the last several months my softener salt usage has gone up to a point of 2 to 3, 40 pound bags per month. I called again and they had me take a sample of my hard water in to be tested! Now they are recommending I replace the disc with a #3! Not sure this is going to help!

From start to finish, my experience with Kinetico of San Antonio was outstanding. I want to specifically recognize Chris, the salesman, and Issac, who handled the installation of our new S150 XP water system. Chris was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely focused on helping me make the right decision for my home — not just pushing a sale. He took the time to explain the options clearly and made sure I understood exactly what I was getting.
Issac, who came out for the installation, was professional, efficient, and extremely thorough. He walked me through the setup, answered every question, and made sure everything was done the right way. You could tell he takes pride in his work. Both of them showed that they care about the customer experience, not just the transaction. That level of service is rare these days, and it made the entire process smooth and stress‑free. Highly recommend Kinetico of San Antonio — and especially Chris and Issac — for anyone considering a water system upgrade.

They oversell the product to get the premium pricing. Salesman's big selling point was you will save money in salt over the long run. I still need 50 lbs every 3-4 weeks which is what my old locally built 2k worth system gave me. The water hardness is never below 2 and salt stains on my dishwasher taps which get changed every year! Not worth the premiums!

I bought the A200 system and softener in Dec 2023, and recently changed the filter for the water system ourselves (2024 someone from the company came to change it), and a few days later we found the two pipes (white color that link to 1st filter/3rd filter) are leaking water. Contact the company and they said yes it is under warranty (7 yrs) but to send somebody to visit is cost $250? Under warranty and I still need to pay a fee for them to visit? Then what is warranty for? Very disappointed that a Company cooperated with Costco will have such poor service. I would expect an explanation about what the warranty cover for 7 yrs from the management team.

Owning a Kinetico Aqua Kinetic A200 RO system should be about clean water and peace of mind. Instead, it’s turned into a source of frustration because of how poorly Kinetico manages its replacement filter supply chain. The only way to buy replacement cartridges is through a local distributor who doesn’t ship products. Their hours? Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM. That means if you work a standard job, you literally have to take time off just to pick up a water filter. Should maintaining safe drinking water really require burning a vacation day or asking your boss for time off? It’s absurd.
In 2025, when nearly every product imaginable can be ordered online and delivered to your doorstep, Kinetico’s refusal to make replacement filters available through modern channels feels outdated, inconvenient, and frankly disrespectful to customers’ time. A water filter change should be a simple task, not a logistical headache. Until Kinetico fixes this supply chain issue and makes filters available online with shipping options, I cannot recommend their systems. The product itself may be fine, but the ownership experience is unnecessarily painful.
Raj,
We have 2 suppliers for the Houston area. Either can ship the filters to you. Aquatex can be reached at 281.331.7777. Infinity Water can be reached at 281.304.7873.
As a global manufacturer, Kinetico does not have the resources available to process and ship orders factory direct. We do know that both of these suppliers do ship filters.

Kinetico water systems made two appointments with me allowing 4 hour windows in the same week. They don’t show up or have the courtesy to call and either cancel or explain why they didn’t show up either day. I called to find out why they didn’t show up or call only to be told they had an emergency the first day. I accepted the excuse and agreed to another date and time. They didn’t show up the second day just like the first. This is very unprofessional and not a good way to run a business. I would certainly not recommend them to anyone in southwest florida.

I had Kinetico come out to look at my k5 drinking water station with VOC guard. No testing was done to see why pressure was low. They changed a part out of the station and put a refurbished part that was sitting in a dirty Home Depot bucket with damp dirty towels on top of it. The filters were put in the sink upside down getting bacteria on the tops. No sanitation was done and no testing to check the water.
On top of it all I was charged $139.00 when I was told by a kinetico admin that if we caused the problem you’ll be charged the service fee of $199, but if we change a part out due to it failing then you won’t be charged. They cut the blue water line with dirty cutters to put a water stop valve there and didn’t ask me. There’s a main water stop already on the system so why create a space for more bacteria.
John, whom is a manager for the Las Vegas branch, said, "the kinetico installers installed it wrong to begin with there should have been a water turn off valve put on the blue line". He blamed his own service techs for installing the system wrong yet he saw no problem with how the service tech handled the filters and the main part for the VOC system in not the proper sanitary method as the owner manual states. Also found John found nothing wrong in not doing a water test or a sanitation rinse. So there’s a big disconnect between the employees, Management and corporate in Ohio.
Customer service is dead. I just wasted ten grand! Kinetico does not stand behind their products, their service and the Kinetico owners manual. When a business gets too big they no longer care about their customers. In the end you have to be more educated in kinetico systems because management doesn’t and will not listen to what you are telling them. A simple you got it that is not how we handle the filters for the VOC and we will run a sanitation through it for your peace of mind. Instead I got from John, "If we tested your water and ran a sanitation we would have charged you. Every 30 min we are there so you were only charged $139, so would you rather a bill for $400 or $500"? This is the service now folks. I can’t in good conscience ever recommend Kinetico K5 drinking water station.

I own a whole house reverse osmosis system, but what I don't like about Kinetico, is the fact that they have their own filters that you have to buy at their very few local dealers and there is no competitive pricing. So we never know if the price we pay for these filters is a good price. At the prices they sell these unique filters, someone must have a very nice houses and very expensive cars in very exotic places! What if Kinetico closes tomorrow?.. Then you can't get no more filters and you have to change your expensive setup... to me this is called monopoly and I don't like this. If I would have known this before, I would not have bought their system unique to themselves.

I purchased what I was told was a full Kinetico dechlorination and softening system. What I actually received was a modified, substandard setup that even their own staff later admitted will require expensive “rebedding” every few years — about $700 each time. That is not normal maintenance; it’s the consequence of them cutting corners and selling a system designed to fail prematurely.
When I contacted Kinetico corporate, they initially agreed the system should be replaced with a proper dual-tank setup — exactly what I paid for. Then the local dealer backtracked, insisted that “rebedding” is fine, and claimed it’s just part of ownership. Corporate later deferred right back to the dealer, leaving me stuck between two entities pointing fingers at each other.
This entire experience has been deceptive, exhausting, and costly. I now have zero confidence in this dealer or Kinetico’s oversight. Selling customers “modified” systems that don’t perform as represented — then expecting them to pay hundreds every few years to fix the resulting damage — is unacceptable. I will be leaving this same honest review on every major platform so other customers don’t get hoodwinked the way I was.

I had a 14 year old Kenmore water softener which I replaced. My Kinetico Premier water softener is installed and looks great. l also had chlorine and sediment filter which I did not have before. They used the pex lines to go above a sheet rock ceiling and get the one water line in the house added to the water softener (that my old system did not cover) without making any additional holes in the sheet rock. There is also a pressure gage by the system that shows 60 PSI in the home.
The setup by Martin was great and it is working like it should. They removed and disposed my old Kenmore water softener. They reviewed how to replace the sediment filter and they gave me a couple extra filters and several bags of salt. Very professional and they cleaned up after themselves. They will come back in a month, check the system and water free of charge. Very happy with my new Kinetico system and Martin service. It is expensive compared to some other brands that rely on electricity and have circuit boards that could get damaged in a brown out, nearby lightning strike or power outage. This American made product should last at least 20 years. I highly recommend it if you want a higher quality water softener.
