I live in the city of Clare and I got a lot of corrosion on my fixtures, my sink, and in my toilet. I also wanted soft water in my shower and Kinetico Water Systems was the only water softener group in the Clare County area, so I got a water softener and a reverse osmosis from them. The sales representative was fabulous. He did a great job of explaining the products and everything else. And the installation team also did a good job. I took advantage of Kinetico’s free water test and the result was not at all what I was expecting.
Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my needs after having it for a while. They put the smaller piping to it which they thought would be sufficient. After putting in the unit, it was found out to be that it was probably mis-scoped. The product wasn’t what I was expecting for a water flow. They had to come back in and put in the larger piping to it so that I could get the water flow that I had previous to putting the water system in. It was difficult for me because I got work on the road and it was difficult for me to take time off. Nonetheless, there have been differences in my water. Soft water is not corrosive to my fixtures and soft water in the shower is the better shower experience. Also, with reverse osmosis, the water tastes different.

I had a bit of lime in my water and it kept clogging up my showers. Since I used to have Kinetico, I didn't do any further research and got a full house water softener system from them. I went online and a supplier got back to me. The rep who came out was knowledgeable and a really good guy and the installers were quick. I had them put the system in a spot where it worked out best for me and it was a little harder for them to do, but they did it with no problem and no complaining. We noticed the softness of the water right away but it took a month to notice the difference. Now, all the pipes are clean and the shower is not clogging up anymore. I've recommended Kinetico to other people. I had Culligan before in a rental house of mine but Kinetico's unit is way better.

We’ve had the Kinetico system for 35 years or so in two different houses and eight years ago, we purchased a new softener system. Once we got past the significant initial cost, we were quite satisfied with the product. I've found that it uses very little salt so it's efficient.

Here's hoping for another 35 years of great service from Kinetico to you!

We needed to replace the system that was in the house that we bought last year. We wanted a new one and Kinetico was referred to us by the agent who found us the house. I called the number she gave us and set-up an appointment. That was easy then our interaction with the representative was clear. He gave us the information and provided us with some brochures that will describe the product they had. It was very informative and helpful to make the decision.
We got Kinetico's water softener and water filter, and the installation was smooth. The test has revealed that all the problems we had before are not there anymore so we feel good about their product. It has also been a very reliable system and I haven't had any problems at any point in time. It's easy to drink now because we know that the water is filtered and it doesn't have any of the stuff that it had before installing the equipment. We were satisfied with our experience with Kinetico and when I got a call from somebody who wanted to purchase the product as well, I recommended it. It's not a cheap option but we think it's worth it.

The quality of my Premier S150 softener and and K-5 RO equipment is very good and it should be for the nearly $4700 initial cost. My biggest grip is that the maintenance costs are too high! In my four years of ownership I have spent nearly $1000 on filter cartridges, salt, resin cleaner and service visits to sanitize my drinking water system. I'm a do-it-yourself sort of guy and when I asked my distributor about getting a sanitizing kit so I could do it myself, I was told that they didn't know anything about it and that they recommended I have their service people do it any way. I don't mind paying for high quality equipment but I don't like having to pay so much to maintain the systems. as an example, the Duracube salt I buy from Kinetico is nearly double the cost of other brands. Is it really that much better? If I had to do it over again, I would probably explore other options.

Hi David,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sending owner's manuals via email to you that should assist. Please let us know if you have additional questions or comments.

My water was hard, had a lot of orange staining, and smelled swampy. I wanted to get that taken care of so, I had somebody from Kinetico come out to my house. I had a pretty good experience with him. He was an older gentleman named Rich and he was just in the area and he stopped in. He tested my water and spoke to me about the product. He was a nice guy but at that time, I wasn’t in the financial state to be able to purchase a water softener. After that, I still ended up buying a water softener from them. They sent a young man out by himself to install it and he explained to me how long it would take. He got it done in a timely manner and was clear on his instructions on what had to be done. I was happy with the installation.
Everybody at Kinetico was quite cooperative with me. But it would be a big thing if after about a month of purchasing from Kinetico, somebody would call and make sure everything was working correctly. Also, while in the middle of purchasing, the salesperson told me that the water softener wouldn’t necessarily take care of the foul smell of my water. So, it just took care of the hardness in the water. And as far as the stain is concerned, that seems to be a little bit better though I can’t really tell the difference if the product is working or not.

We've had a new place and we needed something for the water system. I heard about Kinetico on the radio and saw it at a little hardware also. Going through an appointment with them for the in-home water test was fine. The rep was excellent. He knew what he was talking about and knew about the water in our area. We purchased a water softener and a whole house filter and Kinetico's installation team did a nice job, too. They explained the system and all that good stuff. I thought that their $99 for a bypass valve was a little ridiculous though, but I did it myself and no problem. Since the installation, we've had just nice water. Kinetico has been really good.

I appreciated the postcard reminding me to change filters on the softener, well pump and reverse osmosis. Once the the service person arrived, he told me how bad the filters were. I was told originally that filters should be changed every year but he said every 6 months. I wish information was consistent. I'm also confused because I didn't receive a postcard reminder for the first 2-3 years after installation (was I sent postcards yearly?). It's hard to complain about not receiving postcards when it was the recent card that reminded me to change filters but I think it's important. Otherwise, the softener works great and I have no complaints.

Hi David,

Kinetico Water Systems has been great, and I love them. I got a water softener for the whole house system. We live up north where we have well water and it is hard. I had interviewed some other people, but I really liked them and I felt they were very knowledgeable, they knew what they were doing, and I felt that we were gonna put in the water system that was correct for my house. The sales appointment was great too. The guy was really nice and very informative and he arrived on time. He was excellent. He gave us a lot of information, too. We availed of the free water test as well.
We scheduled the installation and they came when they said they were coming. They weren’t here very long, and they were right on schedule with everything. Since having our Kinetico installed, the difference on our water has been like night and day. I’m not getting the stains and it is great for doing my laundry. I've been using less detergent now. We saw Kinetico at a home show in Mount Pleasant. My brother-in-law has Kinetico system in Anchorage, Alaska as well. We’ve got extremely hard water. They had never seen water as hard as what ours is. And we also had issues with the softener that we had because it was the single tank so we had times when we were getting hard water while it was recharging. We had a very good experience setting an appointment with Kinetico. Everything went very well. We purchased a two-tank softener and a reverse osmosis system from them. And so we like the fact we were able to get it to where we always were going to be getting soft water even though that was recharging.
Now, the water has been much better than what it was. It’s still not perfect though. We get some salt residue at times if we have water that splashes. But that is not as bad as it was before and the other issues are gone as well. Kinetico did a very good job. We did have a couple of issues with it after they had been installed but they got right on it and took care of them. And everything is fine now.

We had a Kinetico downstate in Brighton for a lot of years and we loved it. Also, my brother-in-law ended up selling Kinetico products. We went online and found a Kinetico dealer in Traverse City and got in contact with them. The salesman came out to show us what there was, but it was so confusing and he couldn't give me any brochures on it. And even on their website, we were not really sure what we were looking at. There were no prices on it at all. But we ended up buying it because we really had a lot of luck with it when we had downstate.
We purchased a deluxe water system which requires purple liquid. It required more filtering system and every time we turned around, it was a couple of thousand dollars more for this because of what we ordered. We didn’t know what we were ordering and we’re not really fond of the purple chemicals that it requires. Now they say that it goes in the water system. And even now, I have the water spots on my counter and I shouldn’t have it at all. Besides the fact that it’s leaving rust stains on the stool and water spots in the kitchen and the bathroom, it’s an adjustment that has to be made on it. I complained about it when we first got the unit and the secretary at the headquarters was so rude to me. She wouldn’t even let me talk to the president.
Finally, the people they have at Traverse City called me saying that they understood I was having a problem with the system. They were the ones that really helped me. They were terrific and they came out here a number of times. The man gave me his private phone number and told us to call him for any problems. We were going through a lot at that time and I didn’t call him back. There was probably an item we could take out so it would recycle more. He called me back whenever I called. The installers were from Kinetico and they were very nice and very kind. I felt very comfortable having them in the house.
They did the water test a number of times. They shook it and looked at the color and told us how many grains we needed. I didn’t quite understand the whole thing, but they did it every time they came out. Kinetico is the best unit on the market compared to what we looked at, even though a lot of parts are being made overseas now. With the other units, you’ve got to do the timer on it. We don’t have to do the timer on this unit. And because it originally was a summer house, we can go on vacation and not worry about it. If a storm comes through, we don’t have to go down and reset it at all, and that makes it much easier and it’s care-free. We just put salt in it and that’s it. I would recommend Kinetico compared to anything else out there because we researched that somewhat.

I just wanted something good so I went by his recommendations and we worked on the price and it worked out well. The company came out, put the system in and left all the paperwork. I really like the way their company works. They seems to be on demand and highly efficient. The service and installation have always been great as well. Because of the reverse osmosis, the water that's coming through is pure and clean and I could see it in the ice cubes. I was retired and moving up to my cottage up north. We had a softener that took care of the softness of the water but it didn’t take care of tannins. My wife couldn’t do laundry in the house and going to the laundromat was a pain. I did a lot of research on people with water with the same issues I got and everybody seemed to be happy with Kinetico’s resolution of that.
The sales guy was also part of the reason I chose Kinetico. He came to the house and did the showing, and he was very laid back. There were no hard sales and the experience was very pleasant. I thought about it for about six months before I called him back and purchased the whole house system. He didn't try to sell me something I didn’t really need either. But I needed to fix my water and obviously I needed a guarantee so I bought it with a guarantee and it worked from the day they put it in. But it wasn’t cheap. Four thousand bucks for a water softener is a lot of money.
The installer was very professional and clean. The job took him about an hour and the water in the bathtub went from yellow to nice and clean in five minutes. I had to flush the line and that was it. Boom, done. When I get the supplies I need, there’s a place in Traverse City and there’s one in Gaylord. It just depends on which city I’m in, doing personal stuff. We moved from Illinois and the water there was terrible, very hard and lots of iron. We went through a number of different water softeners and they didn’t provide much service. And then we finally had gotten to Kinetico and they are the only brand I’m gonna ever have. It’s built like an industrial machine as far as the function. The first time I dealt with their rep, it was a little odd because the guy was mainly interested in leasing the system to me. But I didn’t wanna lease it as I wanted to buy it. That caused some minor issues at first, but once we got that worked out, it was great.
With the old one in Illinois, the water softener would plug up occasionally. I had a serviceman come out a few times. They showed me what to do to clean it and I just cleaned it myself after that. The water here is good, with no iron to speak of. It’s a little bit hard, but not much and we only have the water softener for the washing machine, for the hardness in the clothes. The water softener works fine but it's very large for our use. We almost never put salt in as it doesn’t use enough, but it seems to help. It is awfully expensive, but it's a very reliable, well-built, well-designed machine.

I had replaced it twice but there were some issues with it. They don't make that unit anymore and I can see why. Anytime you use a Reverse Osmosis system, I would definitely not go with any kind of plastic spigot. I'd go with the stainless steel. The Reverse Osmosis cleans out a lot of stuff and you gotta make sure that they don't wear and tear on your system.
My ex-son-in-law had a Kinetico system, and my dad and my mother had one too. I heard a lot of good reports on them so I went and checked into them. I went online and asked some questions then they called me back and set up an appointment. The guy who came out knew his product and he had a couple of options for me. That's always good, knowing your product, a couple of options on how much you can afford and what your usage is. He also tested my water and he did a professional job. Everything sounded good so I went for it. I got a regular softener that goes by water usage, not on a timer, for the softener to kick in. I live alone now but I have family come and go so I get different usages of water. If I had it on a timer, I'm gonna have to either manually turn it on when I need it.
The installation was fairly simple because I had a softener before and I had shut-off valves and unions. The installer had a little bit of work there to do but nothing major. I have a lot of iron in my water so I saw a lot of brownness a lot of times. Now, I don't see that. The toilets are a lot cleaner too. Kinetico did a good job with my softener so I checked on the water filter part of it. They came out and gave me a price on that, and because they treated me so well, I had that done too. They hauled the old unit away and did a really nice job. Everybody was very professional. They did what they were supposed to do and that was what I expected. With Kinetico, the water is 100% better.

We've always been very pleased with Kinetico and we've used them in several houses. We bought one product for a condo at Notre Dame, Indiana, then we had one at Platte Lake and Honor, Michigan, and we had another one in Traverse City. And they were in all sizes, from smaller to large. The house we were buying had a water softener and filtration system and we didn't know about them, so that was when we learned about them. We went with Kinetico for their dependability and their regeneration. They're excellent all around, they're dependable, and they come back and check up in a year's time. Plus, they'd be willing to give an extra bag of salt when I get them. Their installation team was dependable as well. Our water is softer now and we like the fact that it automatically regenerates itself. And, we also talk up Kinetico to other people.

The water out at our lake place was really bad. It had a water softener in there when we bought it but I wasn't seeing any sign that anything was happening there. We ran into Kinetico at the Cottage Show in Traverse City and set an appointment. They came out a couple of weeks ago to change the filter and they were good. I wanted to have them show me how to do the stuff so I could do it myself and they went over everything with me, and it was great. We had purchased the whole water system of Cannon and I am so glad we had it put in. The water is perfect now. Anyone who comes to our cabin certainly can tell the difference. If we run into anybody that is having water problems, we always tell them that it was Kinetico that we got.

After 7 or 8 visits to fix the problem it's still not fixed, I called again Thurs the 26th and told them it's still not fixed. During my investigations on a lot of companies, I found that Kinetico was a better brand more into helping the consumer and not just wanting to sell the product. Setting up the appointments and installing the water softener system were great experiences. When I’m taking a bath for that matter, the water doesn’t seem like a soap when you rinse out but it actually feels like it’s gone and not still staying on my skin. Same thing with my shampoo. And there’s no more hard water stain on my glass. You need to invest in this. It’s the best system I’ve ever had. It keeps not only myself clean, but all my household products. It keeps my dishwasher and washing machine all in operating condition. It doesn’t build up hard water inside of them.

I had hard water and needed a softener. I have a very small closet and I can’t get a conventional water softener, so they had a softener that was very small and about the size of a computer face. The salesman came out and pretty much fed us the biggest line of BS that I’ve ever heard in my life. Everything he told us was a lie. We ordered a water softener and a drinking water system from Kinetico. I’ve had Kinetico out about three times after the salesman had sold it to us and because what he told us wasn’t true, we got stuck with it. We have a lifetime warranty on the softener but they charged us for coming out and fixing warranty items. The softener went out after about six years and the guy told us that these things only last five years. I told him that we have a lifetime warranty and he said that it’s only for the salt storage part of it.
Also, the salt that they said were for tubes. They were supposed to be blocked but they don’t sell blocks. They only sell those in Europe. This softener is for England with low flow water. Then the bladder on the water tank went out. A guy came by to repair one thing and I told him to look at that. Then they charged me $168 to have them come out and fix what was already warrantied. Then they sold me the wrong filters later which totally screwed up the water system and it was totally worthless. Finally, when this guy came out and told us that our system was screwed, I just went out and bought one from a home store with 360 bucks. It works better than any crap Kinetico ever gave to me. They just screwing people.

I got the highest end water softener and a water filtration under counter, and the installation was good. They had to get creative with some spacing issues that I had in my house, but they did a good job. I don't like hard water, but now it seems like the water is softer and more steady. However, I wondered if the system was working right, and there was no follow up from them to check on the system. That would've been helpful, especially 'cause it was pretty big. We live in El Paso and it’s a hard water area. There’s a bit of chlorine odor in the local water as well. We were also concerned with drinking water as well as for the appliances in the house and showering. I did some research for softening systems online and started looking at Pelican and others, then came across the Kinetico one. I liked what I read about it and the fact that it doesn’t require plug-in power to operate. It had a lot of good history behind reviews other people put on it. It sounded like a pretty bulletproof system and it sounded good. I called Kinetico Water Systems and they came over. I enjoyed the sales pitch. They spoke really good and it was a good product to me, so it worked out. I purchased a four-tank system with two doubles. It’s a softener and a chlorine filtration as well that can also be on the softener.
The installation was great. One guy came over and spoke to us about any changes in the initial plan. We thought he had to run a couple of extra tubes around for the output of the tank when it does its cleaning cycle. He talked to us about what he wanted to do and it all worked out for him. It was good communication. I love the water now with Kinetico System installed. It’s been great and almost completely maintenance-free. We put in a bit of potassium and that’s it. We take a look at it about once a week to put some potassium back in if it’s needed.
I appreciate the original salesman. He checked back with us after everything was installed. A month later he came back and redid some tests on the water. It showed us that we have the water that we have now. I appreciate them coming back and checking up on us and making sure it was all working well. I would tell my friends about Kinetico if they’re looking for a pretty bulletproof system that doesn’t go down, power goes up, doesn’t require any power to operate, and if they have water issues. I can’t see what else they’d be looking for in a system beyond what Kinetico’s offering. There are other ones out there and there’s nothing wrong with taking a look at what other products are out there, but everything is working really well with Kinetico. And from what I understand, it is gonna last a long time without clearly any maintenance.

7 months ago, we replaced it with a new one also from Kinetico. Their representative came out and we talked. I was really impressed with the new upgrade of Kinetico's product because there was a little ultraviolet light in there that helps clean the water. The water passes through the ultraviolet light which takes all the impurities, bacteria and all the bad stuff out. It was excellent for me. They even gave us a great trade-in on what we had. We live in New Mexico and people really don’t understand how bad the water is here. When I moved here in '85, the local people would joke and say, "Drink the water, it makes your teeth hard." The water is rough and people don’t like to drink the water as it is tough to drink. Now, Kinetico Water Systems is the most prominent in Las Cruces and I've known of them for 30 some years. I know their sales rep Alfredo through networking and we've talked. His demonstration was a 10 and he convinced me. He is fantastic and he needs to be filmed with that demonstration. He went over it so well and I talked about chlorine, the water hardness, and the cleanliness of the water. He showed examples and why all of our fixtures were crusting over with whatever hardness that it was. There's so much difference and he did a very thorough job.
I got a deluxe water softener filtration system and it's the soft water and the clean water and all for the home. Tony came for the installation and they had to dig out an area in front of my house which is covered with rock. Then when it was done, it looked better than when they started. I was a Boy Scout and I was taught to leave the area better than when I found it, and there's nothing that the installation team did that I would have done differently. They did a great job.
However, I've got an issue and they came out today. I'm losing water pressure to my backyard sprinklers and we found what the problem is, which is not the system. Tony came out, looked at it, and did a fantastic job. He had a gauge and he tested my house and the neighbor's house. In the front, there's 58 pounds of pressure which is normal for both houses. But when my sprinkler is on, it's only five pounds so I wasn't getting enough pressure. Also, there's a small leak in the house, which I agreed upon. I asked him questions and he convinced me. They gave me a solution that made sense to where I can direct the water directly to the sprinklers and bypass. So, their solution is cost effective and that's what I'm going to do. And I'm 110% happy with their system.
Now, for the last three days, all I've done is drink water and I haven't had anything else but straight water. It is smooth, it tastes good, and one can taste the difference. My skin is not dry anymore and my hair looks beautiful. Kinetico is a good company and their system is worth it. They've also made it affordable and I've made my first payment already. All in all, I really think every house needs to have their system.

We had well water that was terrible. I had three different people out to the house, telling me what they could offer. Kinetico had the only thing that they offered that would actually do what I needed to be done. They also gave me a demonstration and we went from there. They tested the water for free and did it at the house, and they also sent some stuff off and had to come back. The analysis was about the same, that the water was bad. I then purchased the one that pumped water from the well into the tank and purified and cleaned everything and then brought it back out. It is for a 6,000 square foot house.
The rep we dealt with was very highly knowledgeable. He knew what he was talking about and could explain everything. When the installation team came back it was like three days later, so it took them about half a day and they were done. Since having the system, the water has been better. The only issue that I had with it, since it had this tank system and it had its own pumping system to build up the pressure, is that if two people took a shower and I turned on our washing machine, we would run out of water until it goes back up. When it ran out water, it stops right in the middle of your shower. There is no warning system. So, you had to monitor what was going on before you decide to use a lot of water. Also, Kinetico is expensive as hell. It did what it was advertised to do, but I won't buy another one.

I paid $98 for Bill (The owner) to come out and give me an estimate to reinstall my unit after a kitchen remodel. After he left I looked down at my paperwork and there were no numbers or any of the things we discussed in writing. THE 98 DOLLARS IS FOR NOTHING. They come to your house to tell you how much it will cost to reinstall your unit. My unit will cost $450. All my basic plumbing is there. I bought this system 10 years ago. I have called and let them know I want an email for a written quote. I am not sure why I would pay $98 for a piece of yellow paper that vaguely says change unit. I want to know the cost and the details of everything and in writing.
I am seriously considering getting another brand name water filter. I was considering the water softener and updating my RO water filter. I called to request the written quote and Bill said he would email it to me. Fair enough. He may or may not. But who wants to chase around an estimate that you thought you paid $98 for. I expect an estimate in writing that includes numbers. After reading all the reviews on this page I am extremely wary of buying the 1300 unit with the trade in on my old unit. A huge part of me wants to do this BUT... I do not trust the company anymore.
Furthermore, I spoke to Ken a few months ago about upgrading the unit and he was extremely rude to me on the phone. I am a previous customer that spent nearly $1400 on my last unit and I am treated like trash. I really like Kinetico but this is the only place to get your unit serviced. It is very sad to treat people this way. I am very disappointed. They have been the only choice for our area and people have had to tolerate this treatment for many years. There are many bad reviews on Yelp and Google. Why is this the only option for Kinetico owners? We need competition. This is being run by a monopoly of unprofessional bullies. Thank you.

We had hard water and Kinetico was recommended to us by someone we had contracted to do some work on our house. The reps were very knowledgeable and good at what they did. We told them that we wanted the system to get everything out of the water and they gave us that. We got a whole house filtration system plus the sink system at the kitchen, and the installation went perfect. The installers kept us updated as to what time they would be here and they were here when they said they were gonna be here. My water is a lot softer now and it doesn't leave lots of orange gunk all over everything or turn my hair green anymore. And with that, I would recommend Kinetico.

With the hard water I got at the house, I wanted to have a water softener ‘cause I've seen how one makes a difference. I got two small tanks and one big tank from Kinetico and the changes are good. I can tell when the salt is out of the water and it's completely different now. It's a good system where the water runs with the water flow and there's no electricity or gas. We’ve had it for five years now and it’s been working well. I recommend it.

Thanks for your recommendation, Inderpal!

I originally had Kinetico in my old house and when I bought this house, I bought a Kinetico system off of Craigslist from their former employee. I had it for four years and I had nothing but trouble with that. Kinetico came out and did some other work to it and I was never happy with it. I didn’t get super service. Otherwise, I’d still be with them. I now have a Culligan water softener.

I bought a house and nothing worked and the water smelled like sulfur. I had to have help with my water softener. I spent $3,000 there. Jonathan was the fellow who helped me. He came and tested my water, came back, got rid of some old stuff that I had. They did a good job and they were very accommodating and prompt. They came when they said they would. They did quick work and didn't make a mess. They were very courteous. They put on covers on their shoes when they came in the house. They made it work and that was it. It was very straightforward. They came back and checked the water after it was in and made sure I knew how to put the filters in. It was a very positive and wonderful experience. Somebody's done some good training. I felt like I trusted them and I would use them again.

We were looking into water filtration systems because of the amount of minerals in the water here. At a home show, we heard about Kinetico and it seemed to be more advanced so went with them. Their rep was very informative. He tested the water and it showed the level of minerals in the water. I bought the Kinetico water systems for the whole house and for drinking, and the installation was very easy and quick. The installer was friendly and he seemed very knowledgeable. The systems are working well and we feel the difference. The water doesn't seem as harsh, our clothes come cleaner, and the dishwasher seems to be working better too.

When we moved from Canal Winchester, we were in Fairfield Farms and we had a well and septic tank there. We had a problem there with iron, so we got a machine that took the iron out. But we left it when we sold it and moved here. There's a calcium problem here, so we got the water filtration system for the whole house from Kinetico Water Systems. We have a nozzle on the sink in the kitchen and we get drinking water from that. We had a water filtration system at the other house as well, but that was city water and we had hot water over there.

I’ve got a softener and the drinking water system from Kinetico. I've been using Kinetico for a long time and I've always been happy. Setting up an appointment with them was very easy. I've always had good luck. Their sales person was very professional and very knowledgeable. I ended up buying one unit and changing unit about two years into it. The one I have is the one that removes the chlorine from the water but I was curious why the guy didn't try to sell me the one with the better system first.
The new system is great though. The installation was fast and the installers were very professional. This was a new build home so I really never drink the water that's straight out of the tap. I always use the drinking system. I drink it every day and I cooked with it. Also, we've had a line run from the K5 to the ice maker. I've had it for 30 years and I've never had any problems with it. The drinking system was a bit more expensive than what you can buy commercially but I do like it. It's very easy to maintain and it works fine. The removal of the chlorine makes a big difference in the smell of the water. And it doesn't use electricity. So, that's what I tell people.

We're glad to read you're enjoying your water, Jeff. Thanks for sharing your experience with others.

The area that we live in has really hard water and quite high chemical content, within health guidelines. But as far as we were concerned, from a county perspective, those aren't good enough for us. We've lived in our area now for almost four years and when we moved houses we decided we wanted to invest because we noticed that dishes were not getting cleaned because of the water quality. Our skin was dry on a regular basis and drinking water did not taste good. And so we decided we wanted to increase the quality of the water that was touching our bodies and dishes as well as prolong the life of appliances, from a sustainability standpoint.
I did some research on the internet to find out which providers were in my area. I even went out to the different water system websites by searching water services with my zip code and submitted the kind of contact-me type links on each website. A couple of the websites were harder to find in that area so it came down to who reached back out to me with the right kind of quotes. I knew a couple of companies I definitely didn’t want to use because of previous experiences. I talked to Kinetico on the phone and I told them I knew what I wanted. I didn’t want to hear a sales pitch so they came out, talked me through quickly what they had and then we moved forward from there.
Peacock Water Solutions' website submitted a quote to contact me because I didn’t know what kind of systems I needed and they're the expert in that. I had someone email me back saying that they have an agreement and a contact to get in touch with. So, I reached out to that contact and he offered to set up an appointment at our convenience. It was quick after that. He was in our house and talked us through everything we needed to know. We made our decision and went with the installation. So, from the time that I submitted "I want to contact a quote," from the website to having him at our house, it was a week or less. We purchased a drinking water filtration system from Kinetico Water Systems. It was their highest level of drinking filtration system and the basic lowest level water softener system.
The installation team was great. They sent two guys -- one to install the water filtration system for the drinking water and then the other focused on the water softener system. They had a bit of a challenge because of our unique situation with where our water supply was. But overall, it took them two hours or so through these systems and they kept me in the loop. They didn’t need my input on a lot of stuff. They just let me know if they hit any issues and what they were working on. They were very knowledgeable about the products and they would talk if I had questions. They got the job done. We've loved having the system.
My wife does her hair and it dries faster, and our dishes are cleaner as well as our drinking water. We drink way more water now and we've been very pleased with it. We feel better about what we're actually drinking too. The process was simple and straightforward, and it wasn’t a lot of salesman-type pressure at all. They supported me along the way. Even now, I send texts that I will have every now and then and will have questions that come up, and the rep responds almost immediately.

I bought Kinetico's RO system by name recognition and I like the compactness of the system inside the house instead of having the filters exposed. But there were some glitches during the installation. Nobody checked to see that the line was hooked up to the refrigerator before they pressurized it so I had a cleanup. The installer broke or cracked the line that comes from the dishwasher to the disposal while he was trying to put things in there. I didn’t find out about that until I used the dishwasher a couple of days later with a leak all over the bottom of the brand new cabinets down there. I don’t think he knew that he busted it. I just went ahead and took care of it myself. Once I took out the air out of the system, it started working better than it did the first couple of days. I wasn’t quite sure if the water hammer that we experienced was going to be a permanent feature or not. That seemed to settle itself down after they pulled the air out.

Everything’s great with Kinetico and I love it. I heard about it from a salesman named Alfredo from El Paso from a Home & Garden Show in El Paso. I’ve always liked the idea of water softening and then he just explained in depth pretty much the benefits of it. I liked everything about what it’s able to do. It seemed like we had a lot of chlorine in the water higher than what the gentleman had seen. He just explained that we’re probably closer to one of those water towers.
The installation came in and got it done really fast and efficient. And I could tell like when we take showers it’s a lot better. We also got the Osmosis drinking water. I like telling the joke that I got the cleanest water in El Paso all the time. I’ve already recommended Kinetico to many people. I tell them what a great product they have. And some people came back and they were like, "Well, it's hard to wash your hands or get the soap off." And I’m like, “Well, you gotta really try it because it’s really not difficult."

My daughter felt that my water wasn’t healthy. She has a reverse osmosis and she wanted me to get it, too. I was visiting a friend in a senior living establishment and there were different groups of people sitting at different tables from different organizations. Kinetico was one of them and I talked to them. I received the card of the person and then I called and made an appointment later. The sales rep was good and everything went well with the installation. They put the reverse osmosis system under my kitchen sink. I had hoped it could go into my refrigerator but they said the refrigerator was too far. I've had the system for about five years now. The water tastes good and I use it for cooking or drinking. Kinetico comes about once a year and put new filter in it but they want to come too early to put the filter in and I could wait another several months.
Other than that I've told someone about Kinetico. She had gotten a new countertop and she was afraid that getting the reverse osmosis installed would mess up her new countertop when they make the hole for the water faucet. I said that they did a really good job with mine and they were very careful. I told her she could come and look at mine if she wanted.

We bought a brand new house. Our old house had terrible water stains because our hard water is very high. And we just wanted to do a pure water and water softener. So, I did research, found Kinetico online, and called them and made the appointment. And they came out and did their thing. We bought the whole-house water softener and the reverse osmosis from them. The reps were all very nice and very knowledgeable. I had questions as far as what my water quality actually was. And the rep tested that for us and showed us where we are as far as on the scale, what's considered really good and what's considered really bad.
The technician was very good as well. It was a chaotic day. We had him there on the very first day that we took possession of the house. So, we had a bunch of movers in and out. And he was in the basement and did his thing. And it went very smoothly. He was also very polite. We have the hardest water in Ohio and there's still hard water spots on the sinks, on the counters of the glass shower door. But it's easier to take a shower, the soap lathers up better. And we just had an overall good experience with Kinetico, so I'd highly recommend them.

Everybody says our drinking water is fine but I wanted Kinetico as a precaution. I got the faucet from Kinetico. I wanted the faucet so that the water would go into my instant hot and into my icemaker. And we drink from that water. And I rinse my vegetables and cook with that water.
I called and they set it up when I could be available. And they came right out. The gentleman explained and everything was good. And then, I could have the maintenance where they come every year. They also called me to say, "It's gonna be time to change your filter." And then, they came and did it. They also gave me a discount and I was very pleased. Whoever I spoke to at customer service was also very nice. I have not had any problems. And I've told so many people about Kinetico. I'm happy I got it. And the one that we have now is sufficient for the two of us and it's very adequate. It's also easier for me to put salt in it because it’s not as high as our larger one. The only problem I had just recently was I needed salt and I could buy salt from the company but I needed someone to take it down the basement. So, I went and purchased it myself, opened it, pulled it out in the garage and got my grandson to carry the salt down the basement.

The rep was very professional and answered all my questions. The installer came in, left it cleaner than it was before he got here, in and out, and suggested a change in plumbing for us. He was just very helpful and very professional.
The K5 is just great, it has much more pressure. We were having some minor difficulties with the other one. Kinetico might be a little more expensive, but sometimes you pay for what you get. We had some issues with where things are located in the house, and they did a really great job taking care of that with as little impact as possible. And the experience was all very positive, very helpful, and not overbearing by any means, but leading us really where we wanted to go which was to get a new system. And then when they came out everything was very professional and they were also very professional to me and included me in the directions, making sure that the spouse was made aware of things, not just my husband. Every faucet, water handles and sinks were encrusted with mineral deposits, and the water just tasted funny. I was over at Home Depot and one of the gentlemen that was connected with Kinetico was there offering free water tests. I had gone through a few of the other systems and one of the things I liked about Kinetico was that it wasn’t powered. There's no electricity to it which means that I don’t have to worry about something going wrong if I get a power failure. So, I purchased it.
The Kinetico gentleman came in and we had a fun time trying to find where we could put the water system in and hit the whole house. For some reason, when the house was built, water comes in from the street in front and goes all the way through the basement to the back before it bridges out because that's where the cutoff valve is also. So, if I get a broken pipe, I can't shut it off close to the front of the house as possible. It's only at the back of the house. But he did a really good job in getting it all set up. The only thing that I found out afterwards was that I got one of the last of this particular model. It doesn’t have the pre-filter station attached to it. Other than that, the water system has worked fine for me as well as the reverse osmosis. I got both of them at the same time.
Since then, when I shower, the shampoo and the soaps and everything suds up very nicely. They didn’t before so that tells me that the heart of the garbage is coming out of it. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to put some filter on it because the soft water is doing what it's supposed to do but I still have some lime deposits. They've moved their office space from one side of town to the other but other than that, I can get my softener and filters from them. They haven't disappeared on me. I've had that problem before with other systems wherein you buy something, and two years later, they're not around anymore. So far, I have recommended Kinetico. The people that I've talked to were looking for something but they didn’t really want to have to go with much money. But I pointed out to them that some of the things that they've got, that they've decided to go with is going to cost them more in the long.
