Due to the hard water in our town, we need a water system, and we opted for a water softener from Kinetico. They were easy to work with and the installation went fine.

A Kinetico system was already here in the house when we bought it. We've been here for 15 years now and even when we moved in, the system is already antiquated. Our water comes straight from the well and it has a certain amount of mineral content in it so it would not be as tasteful. Since I already knew the people who have been servicing it from the time we've been here, we just decided to replace the system. I also did a bit of research and it seemed like it's better if we stay with Kinetico. It took them a couple of hours to replace the system. Other than that, the customer service is fine.

I couldn't get a unit from Culligan that is big enough to take care of the rust and hardness of my water. I was tired of everything turning red. I've heard that Kinetico is the best in the market. Ray, the guy I worked with took out the old unit and put in the new one. He also showed how to shut the thing off. And while it took a while for me to get with the program, I eventually got it. Since I had the Kinetico system installed, it got rid of the stink and the rust. Everything's taken cared of well. And although I'm very satisfied with my Kinetico unit, they should give their clients an incentive to push their product. They should also advertise more.

I knew that the softer water would be better to do laundry and not leave hard water around my sinks. I felt like the dishes would be cleaner, and that there would be less junk in water, including our drinking water. I did some research on Kinetico and Culligan, but I didn’t get a callback from Culligan, so that was a big deal there. I purchased a Kinetico water filtration system, and my experience has been wonderful. Everything was positive with everybody that I had worked with. I’m totally thrilled with the hook-up of it all and the professionalism when they were here. I’m satisfied. Since purchasing from Kinetico my dishes have looked shinier, clothes and towels have seemed to be softer, and my hair have felt so much better.

We talked to another company, and we weren't happy with what they were offering. The Kinetico rep, on the other hand, was very prompt in handling our original request, and their prices were a little cheaper. He came out and tested water. I had some concerns because somehow the heating oil got into all three wells and contaminated all of them, so we paid decently for a water system. But for every faucet that we wanted to have purified water, it would cost additional money, so we just went with the kitchen. The other waters we can bathe but we can only drink out of one faucet, which is in the kitchen. But that is fine.
Kinetico made sure that they were able to get the system installed quite rapidly. The gentleman that installed the system and did the manual labor was topnotch. But right after we had the system installed, we were disappointed because we started getting the sulfur smell. We were not apprised of the fact that the system that we put in would not handle both purification and the sulfur. Had they told us that at the onset, we would have seen what kind of deal we worked out to get to both systems.
This is my dad's home, but at 88 we can't leave him by himself. We spend a lot of time in New York, but we were here eight months last year dealing with this fuel spill. We just got back into town last Friday, and now, I'm starting to deal with the eggy smell. I put baking soda and vinegar down each of the sinks because the sulfur smell or the egg smell is bad. My dad, meanwhile, wants to install something to take care of the smell. It's embarrassing because we had someone come in to lay carpet yesterday and we had to open up all of the doors in the basement because it smells so horrible. Now, we're looking at spending another $3,500 this year to have a sulfur system put in.
The filter works and it's purifying something because it was filthy when we changed it. But a few days after we changed it, it was filthy again, so we know that it is trapping some of whatever's coming through the water system. But we've had the Kinetico system for a year now, and overall, we're pleased with it. We see that there is purification of the water and it's an easy, working system. We also know how to do what we have to do to change the filters.

I was interested in having the best water possible and got a water softener from Kinetico. I wasn't interested in the free water test as I was interested in having the product installed, but they insisted on showing me how it works and what the difference is. However, in my previous house, I had a water conditioner with a standard time that it needs to drain, and the water there was a lot softer. Kinetico doesn't seem up to par with that previous system, but I didn't want to replumb the ground and have electricity put in. I'm a little disappointed, and it turns out to be the best thing I could have. I originally had a potassium filtration system, but I was going through that stuff so fast and it was so expensive that I had them convert it to salt. The water seems to be a little softer, but not as soft as I like it. But that's the price you gotta pay for not plumbing.

We had really hard water and it was bad. We heard about Kinetico through a friend who has the system. We also have a friend who's a plumber and he highly recommended a saltwater system. I went with Kinetico and setting up for my appointment with them was a good experience. The installation thereafter was perfect. Now, I've got Kinetico's saltwater tank downstairs with the two barrels and we also have their reverse osmosis system. Now, our water is softer and it's definitely of better quality. I highly recommend Kinetico.

We used to have a Kenmore softener which worked fine but I was aware of Kinetico. I work in a chemical plant and one of the units there have soft water for one of the chemicals made. We have rows of Kinetico there and I knew how much better quality they are. Kenmore was five times cheaper. But although Kinetico was priced as hell they're way better quality than Kenmore and others I've seen, so they should be higher.
A guy from Starkey Water Softening came to install my water softener and did a good job. He had all the stuff and was able to do it not even a day. We have had Kinetico for a long time and it is perfect. When I first tried soft water it was slimy to me but then I realized that I could use less soap. I got used to it and it was not really slimy and I’m just not all dried out. I like soft water and now I cannot stand the feeling of hard water when I go to my son’s house to shower.

I built a new house and I wanted to deal with the sediment and the hard water right up front before it started to mess up fixtures and damage appliances. I already started to have a bit of issue with the ice maker I have because of the hard water. I got a water filtration system from Kinetico as I was more comfortable with their system than some of the other filtration systems. I also had heard about the vendor as being one of the better vendors and having one of the better systems in the area from one of the consultants I worked with for my house. The installation took one day. I definitely don’t have some of the sediment issues anymore and I am happy with the system so far.

I lived in Minnesota before I moved to New Orleans and I had a Kinetico osmosis system under the sink there. I moved the osmosis system to my new location and bought a water softener from Kinetico because the water here is hard. We wanted to make sure we had clean water. Everything went as planned when setting up for our appointment with Kinetico. It was perfect. The installation went just like it was supposed to. We also took advantage of the free water testing and it was nice to know that the water was very hard here and what it was afterwards. The interaction I had with the Kinetico representative was very good and the installation team did a good job. He was nice and everything was completed on time. The water is much softer and comfortable now and we are very happy with the system. I recommend Kinetico.

The drinking water was what we were thinking of, and there was a demonstration at the fair where I saw different water softener or filtration systems. It was very easy talking with the Kinetico reps, and then we went into it. They came out and hooked us up. Then a year or two later, I decided I would change the filters, and I contaminated the whole thing. But the Kinetico reps have been very good. I complained, and they listened and then the issue was taken care of. From then on, I had them come and do it.
We have two children for whom we bought the water system. It's just the drinking water and it's what we've had. Since purchasing from Kinetico, there has been a difference in the taste of our water. Our water has rust and everything else, and Kinetico's system did exactly what we wanted. The whole system, however, wore out after 25 or 30 years, and we had to change it. We know when our filters are going bad because we get a bad taste. But Kinetico has been a very easy company to get to. They've sold out and the new owner is doing a very good too. The new system seems to be better than the older one.

I have a well and I was having staining in my plumbing fixtures, so I figured I needed to get something, but I wasn’t sure what. I went to the dealer and he came out and tested, and he recommended the particular system for the high iron content in my water. After he recommended Kinetico Water Systems, I did some more research. The reviews were good and it looked like that their system was gonna be fine for what I needed, so I went with. The installer came out and tested the water on a Wednesday, then he arranged to have the system installed on Saturday. It was very quick and very easy. I'm close to Abita and my well taps into the Abita aquifer, so the water was good, but it had a high iron content.
My one concern is I saw a comment about water pressure not being affected and I notice that I have a water pressure problem, but I am not sure if it is my well pump or if it is due to the system. I really can't account for it until I can get some more information about water pumps. I don't know if a stronger or bigger water pump would alleviate the pressure problems. Also, I don't know if the low pressure is caused by the water system because I just moved into the house and I had the water system put in before I moved in, so I really don’t have a frame of reference.
It is a possible side effect. In the information that I read, it said that there should be no water pressure loss, so it tells me they probably addressed it, but, to some degree, I am gonna have lower water pressure because the system has gotta cycle. However, I don't know to the degree that is if it is the system or if it is the capacity of my well pump. Well pumps come in different horsepower and I don’t know what they installed there. Still, after the system was installed, I don’t have the staining anymore and the water quality has been good.

I had a Kinetico water system in my old house when I lived in Nebraska years ago and I liked the idea of their system being non-electric. This time, I got the dual gray tank that has a head on it as well as the dechlorinator. I like soft water, so I decided to use a water softener system, and it would be easier on the appliances too. The installation of the system went very well. I've had soft water since the system was installed. I've used less detergent and my hair feels better when I shampoo it. We purchased our first Kinetico water softener system about 15 years ago. I talked to Dick when he was at the winter show in Valley City. Both my parents had collagens and then my mom also had dry skin, so we needed a water softener. We've got really hard water. I run the water softener through the toilet systems because all of the valves don't get corroded. When the water softener tank was plugged up, we decided to trade it in, which was a good price for it. I then bought five water softeners from the new Kinetico dealer, who took over after Dick.
I’m satisfied with the service we’ve always got from Kinetico. Dick was a good dealer, and the new guy knows what he is doing. I have recommended Kinetico to the people around here. It is expensive to get into it. But once you're into it, you’ll save over the lifetime of the system and the salt you put through it because it doesn't take much salt.

She was very informative but not pushy. We have the water softener for six months now and we have been doing fine. But once in a while, the water has a salty taste to it and I'm not sure why. We've got the dual tank and it never runs out. It automatically switches back and forth, so I'm thinking there's a slight salt flavor to the water when it's switching over. Despite, I'm fully satisfied.

We have been with Kinetico for many years. We were with them in California and we've been here in SD for seven years. We worked with Julene who runs the Kinetico Water Systems in Sioux Falls for our systems in the two homes that we’ve had here. We’ve got a water softener and the drinking station, which is the best one Kinetico got. The drinking station cost a couple of thousand dollars.
Though we didn’t need a water softener in California, when we moved to South Dakota, the water’s hard. We just wanted good drinking water. So, we naturally went with Kinetico because we've used their reverse osmosis drinking system. For maintenance, we have a prefilter in the one place we have in Brookings. I replace the filter once a year. Also, we replace the filters in our RO system about twice a year. Kinetico has a great system and we have a lot of trust and respect for Julene. Kinetico took care of everything and I received excellent service from them. They're right down the street and when I called them, they were here in 30 minutes. It took two days to have the system replaced in our laundry and we had to have a plumber come and replumb everything. What I like about Kinetico's systems is that they run by what usage they can get. We got rural water, and I thought that was the best water until we got this thing. In addition to that, my wife says there's a huge difference in cleaning the shower. What I like about the Kinetico system is it's a salt-saving type. It recycles. It does one side, and then it won’t recycle until it needs it. The local Kinetico rep here in this area does a really nice job. The rep came out, did some water testing, and he was really easy to work with. Another benefit after talking with him was having the salt tank be remote. So, we have that out in the garage, and then the line runs from the salt tank into the house to where the actual filtration tanks are. That was a huge benefit. We got the Signature Series and the installation was painless. They came in, scheduled the installation, and got it done in a couple of hours.

We got the water softer system and drinking station from Kinetico. We worked with Ray and everything was really, really good. Everything was really quick, very knowledgeable, and gave me the details on how to use and maintain the system. I had an issue with the system shortly after it was installed, and Ray was there pretty much the very next day. The drinking system was linked to the fridge, and he didn’t close the valve tightly from the normal water hose, so the water leaked through the basement. Ray looked at it and saw the leak. And he was willing to pay for the damage. Overall, the system is a very good product and we enjoy it. The drinking water tastes sweet, and the water is softer than what it was. I use the same water for a hot tub, and the water has been pretty easy on the skin. I would definitely recommend Kinetico.

Since having Kinetico, I haven't noticed the issues that we had at our previous house such as a lot of calcium buildup on our faucets.

They were more reasonably priced and there was no electrical hook-up with them. The reps were all pleasant and the installers got the installation done. Since we had Kinetico, the water looks good now and I would recommend them. They did a good job and we like them.

We built a house several years ago and put their system in there. Since then, my wife has been sold and any time we moved, we just put a Kinetico system in. Purchasing was easy and we used the same guy, Jerry, all three times. Jerry does what he says he is gonna do. We just had a new house and we live in a lake so we wanted to have the water softener and purification system in there. My wife wanted to have soft water and we also like good drinking water. I saw Jerry, the sales guy, and I took one of his brochures and started researching Kinetico. I seemed to like him too. He is very conscientious. When we had a couple of issues, he was right out there, making sure that it went well. I ran into a couple problems, Kinetico took care of those right away and Jerry even came out on his own afterwards which was impressive. So I felt very happy. Somehow, one of our pipes got cut in the installation and we had some water come in but they got it stopped in time. It didn’t damage too much. Now that the system has been installed, the water tastes a lot better than what I’ve been used to over the years in my other locations. I’m very happy at this point.

Kinetico is the best type of water softener out there because of the way it works. I researched that extensively 25 years ago and the way it works is just the way it should be. I had a Lindsay before. It was their most expensive one but it was crap. It lasted about 10 years but it needed a lot of work. On the other hand, I had had my Kinetico unit for 25 years before I called to have it analyzed. The representative who came out was really friendly and very helpful too. I liked him really well. He seemed to know what he was doing because he had been working on it for quite a while. Then he clearly laid out my options. I could recondition the old one or I could replace it. So it was totally up to me. There was no pressure.
I probably should have just reconditioned the old one but I decided to replace it and a different guy came out for the installation. That guy was a plumber and he knew what he was doing. I could tell by the way he used his tool and the tools that he had that he was a professional. He installed the water softener very well and it passed inspection very well too.

We have a lake house with well water in it and it has a Sulphur smell so we recently purchased a water softening tanks, Sulphur tanks and reverse osmosis system from Kinetico. That was our second purchase. We have it at our main house in Omaha and now we have it at our lake house. I like the people, the brand name and I think of it as a quality product. Their sales rep was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. But the look of the equipment was what really made me pleased - the tanks and the fitting, the valves. It’s something that I’m proud of. The installation experience was perfect. However, instead of using clear or white tubing like they did in our Omaha home, they used a yellow, kinda old-looking tubing, which made them look old from the start and I’m not happy with that. It looked like they grabbed something out of the back of the garage. That was my only dissatisfaction.

We had an iron filter installed three years ago in our house with well water in Ontario Canada. About a year later the water pressure would suddenly drop. The service technician said there was sand in the filter valve and advised we also install a prefilter housing and use 5 micron filters which we spent over $500 to have fixed. We change the filter every three weeks or so. Last night the water pressure was fine but this morning suddenly there was no water at all. We bypassed the Kinetico Iron filter and the water pressure was fine again.
There is clearly a problem with the unit. Calling our Kinetico dealer we got the same answer, get a technician in and pay $120 for the call then we can diagnose the issue, and it could be sand again. Well, when they came in did a water test before the initial installation there was no mention of sand or any issues we were advised of. This unit has been nothing but a problem and we are expected to pay for service calls again to try and diagnose an issue which we believe is with the unit, perhaps we have a lemon unit. Highly frustrating experience.

But it started doing the issue again so he brought another part out and it’s been working ever since. Also, prior to where we had them come out, the system was really noisy and I did not hear it run anymore. Whatever the rep did fixed the problem. I can hear it click on but it’s not as noisy as it was before.
With the old system, we get about a pitcher of water and then the water pressure would completely drop off and we have to wait for it to rebuild the water supply. The low rating is, instead, for the people, installation, and horrendous customer service. They don’t show up with what they need to do the installation so they have to reschedule. They show up more than 2 hours late to do the installation. They tell you it will take 2-3 hours to do the installation and then don’t leave for more than 6 hours. When you complain, it takes 5 days for them to get around to getting back to you (I’m talking to you VP **) with a pathetic, insulting “apology” and compensation offer. They do not care in the slightest whether you are satisfied or not. They got your money, they’re satisfied. Buy the system if you want. But know the people will insult you, waste your entire day, and drill into the foundation of your house without asking. Up to you.
Thanks for sharing this information. Most people with a concern that they want resolved will provide their complete contact information. As it stands, the dealer knew precisely who you are.
We spoke with the installing dealer of whom you share your concern. It's understood that you wanted the product installed on a Saturday by noon. Upon arrival, it was agreed that they made a mistake in agreeing to this appointment as they could not possibly complete the job in that time frame. An admitted error on their part.
Regarding the drilled wall, all pre-filters must be anchored to the wall. This is standard practice. We are sorry if you were not made aware of this in advance.

Kinetico Water Systems is the best water softener in reverse osmosis. All their equipment is top-notch. I never had any problem or had very few problems with any of their equipment. I know some companies, they'll sell Kinetico and then they'll sell a cheaper brand. I sell strictly Kinetico because that's how I make my mark in my market. The quality of their equipment is the best. Hardness, iron, and the Hydrogen sulfide smell are the big concerns around our area. And then, we can make the drinking water with the reverse osmosis better than a lot of the bottled waters out there.
Kinetico's service department is awesome. When I order something, I get it four or five days. They're from Ohio and I'm in Montana, but I never had any problem with an order being filled incorrectly or not getting it in a timely manner. They're awesome. And then, you can ask them anything all the time. The only time I have to call Kinetico is when I'm really stumped, which is not that often for the service part, because I've been doing it for so long. And then with their website, ordering stuff is way easier. They have it down and they're very supportive in the branding part.
The installation was really simple. The bypass valve, through Kinetico, you can go in or out on either side. It saves a lot of time plumbing that way so you don't have to make a lot of loop to lose. The reverse osmosis are really simple to put in. They're just all push on connections now. I can install the water softener about an hour and a half. So if I'm going to put in a reverse osmosis under the sink, I can do it in about 25 or 30 minutes. I don't have to go back two or three times. Also, they are awesome to work with. Servicing them was so easy.

We have a well that showed some contaminants in it. I did a bit of research and I liked Kinetico the best. Their salesperson was great and the guys who put in the system were helpful and they went through everything. I was very happy with them. I got a UV purifier and a water softener and so far, the system has been great. Right away, they retested the water and everything was clean. We’re not getting the staining from the hard water in the house. I would definitely recommend Kinetico.

We're on a community water service and it's basically well water. There is an extremely high amount of calcium chloride and the water well is around here. We built ourselves a new office and we just wanted the best water there is so we got a Kinetico water system. We've dealt with them and used them before on other projects. I called them and the experience in setting up the appointment was good. The sales rep was out in the field so I talked to his wife who makes appointments for him and set up the appointment. He came over a couple of days after I called. We went through everything and told them what we wanted. He gave us a couple of different options. I took it back to the owner of the building and we talked about it.
We came to a conclusion that we just wanted two of the under counter models and purchased them. During the installation, the interaction I had with their team was perfect. We know them and worked with them before so we know what to expect. They're very good, professional and quick. We knew that we were gonna put a new water system in so we had it set up from our plumber who plumbed the building. It was an easy install. Since we have gotten it, the water is great and we don't drink the regular water. We ran it into the dishwasher in the break room and also to the refrigerator. I will definitely use Kinetico without any question and will tell somebody that is looking for a water system to use them.

I purchased a water softening system from Kinetico for the whole house. There was calcium build-up and so we had water scaling issues in our house. Setting up an appointment with Kinetico was good. Their reps were flexible with time to meet. They were also quick at returning our phone call and getting it set up. They started with a demonstration. And then, when we decided to get it, there was a different guy who came in and installed the system. The installation took four hours. Since the installation of the water system, I can feel the soft water when I'm showering. The Kinetico water system is a little more expensive than some of the other options out there, but it's a good system and their customer service is good.

We were getting a lot of stains in the toilets and the sink. My wife was also concerned about the drinking water, so she wanted pure water. We made a follow-up on the water softener we had when we bought this house, and the dealer recommended Kinetico. We got an entirely new system plus the filters, $2,500 worth. Taking everything out was our prime concern, and the free water testing was one of the reasons we went with their system. They had a very good salesman. Plus a couple of guys came here to do the installation, and it didn't take very long. Now we no longer get rusting in the toilet bowls and clean-up is so much easier.

Hard water prompted me to purchase a Kinetico water softener. We have a dealer in Billings and we just went and talked to him. I took a water sample in then he tested it and made a recommendation. Then he came out to our home and did it. The installation process was good and it went well. It didn't take long. The only complaint I have is that the water is fairly hard but I thought it would do better on it. Yet I've noticed that soap lathers better when showering and the softener is better there. I would recommend Kinetico. Although it's not the cheapest by any means, it’s better than any other softener we’ve had.

We recently moved to Montana and our house has a ground well. The house had a really old water softener and I decided to call the Clearwater guy to check it out and see if he can still make it work. He told me that it was too old so he offered his services. Then the salesperson from Kinetico was very informative. He answered all of our questions. He did some water testing for my husband and me to see where we are and to compare the water from our house and from water bottles, and what a water softener can do. It was really nice. People have told me about Kinetico before and when my sister-in-law came over, she said that she remembers the stuff. They had one in their house in Minnesota and it's good.
We purchased the whole house system for the sulfur smell. It has two little water filters and a bucket of some sort. Since replacing the old system with Kinetico, the water is a little bit softer. I have a lot of guests who say that the water is so good. The only thing, however, is that I gotta keep up with changing the filter so the water wouldn't smell bad. Hello Dinesh,
A water softener does not have the ability to send soft water to 1 location and hard to another. The water out of the softener is either hard or soft. If the hot water is hard, then the source of hardness should be sought out in that area.

Anytime we needed anything done and we asked for service, they provided it very quickly. They’ve come and checked the system, such as when it didn’t seem to be softening the water as well as it should. I called them, they came out, checked it, and fixed it. They’ve supported the warranty 100%.
So far, from a softener standpoint, Kinetico makes it easier to wash clothes and the clothes seem to come out cleaner. And during showers, it’s easier to make the soap lather. Other than that, with the filtration system, the water has no sediment in it and my wife notices it when she makes tea. The tea does not get cloudy. All in all, I've had an excellent experience with Kinetico and I would highly recommend them.

We renovated our home and we wanted to have a hot water on-demand system as opposed to a water tank that was heated through propane or natural gas. We had lots of iron in the water, however, and the plumber who installed the hot water on-demand system said that if we don’t have soft water, the system is going to calcify or get material build-up in it and it’s gonna make it difficult for our system to function. So we looked at putting in a soft water system.
The service provider was a big advocate for Kinetico, and I looked online at the company's material production, their representations, and their marketing. I also got a second opinion from the plumber and the retailer. We worked with the retailer in the past when they provided water filter systems for the hard water system we have. They were responsive and reasonable, and I found them to continue to be that way. They came out on site and they eventually came back to install the system. It’s still a relatively new system but we have been satisfied with our decision to go with Kinetico.

Also, we were quite impressed with the local distributor in Galesville. They were great people to work with.
Dustin came up and tested our water. He knew what he was doing. It was tough but he was able to come up with a good system, and everything was great. We got two tanks for a softener, two tanks to reduce iron bacteria, and a filter for sulfur odor. We had Dustin put those in. We also had him come up and show us how to take the system offline and drain the tanks because we’re not there in the winter. And even though the room is heated, we don’t wanna take a chance on the heater going out and the room freezing, and the water in the tanks freezing. There is no doubt that Kinetico is absolutely the most expensive on the market, but having had the advantage of having rented a Kinetico down in Arizona, we saved our pennies and that's what we got.
We bought the heavy-duty water softener and the big reverse osmosis system. The tech and his son did a fine job on the installation, but it wasn't quite the professional installation team I had expected. The system is working fine, but when you're paying that much money for a system, you don't want dad to be teaching his son how to do it. Also, they could be a little bit more willing to come out afterwards and test, and make sure that everything is in line. But by the same token, he put in extra water filters so that we could gauge the water coming across before it ever hit the Kinetico system. This system works, and I know because I take showers every other day. Since we've had it put in, we've not had to put another bag of salt. With the old Sears, in a month's time we would have to put four or five bags of salt in. This one just goes and goes.

I knew our area had hard water, and it was a concern because our clothes are thrown in and they come out having a smell to them, and they just couldn't get cleaned. We also started noticing a lot of white residue in the shower and other areas where the water was constantly in contact with the surface, and it was gross living in that condition. Plus our one year old was still on the bottle so we were buying filtered water for her 'cause we didn't want her to drink that nasty water. We decided that we would try and see if there was something we could afford to do. I was looking into several different water companies, and I only had two come over and do demos. The first one came over and did the demonstration, but they were a lot more expensive than Kinetico. I also looked at ConsumerAffairs online and tried to compare the different systems, and Kinetico was a lot better on it.
We got the water softening system for the house and a drink filtration system with the nozzle installed in the kitchen. The guy that does the installation and the service of the equipment came over and didn't take too long, and then they set everything up pretty quickly. He had a lot of experience and he knew what he was doing, so we were happy with that. Everything that Kinetico told us to expect was there, and they answered all our questions.
In taking showers, we've noticed that the water is different now. It also has a different taste to it. The system hardly requires any kind of salt. The other competitor swore to me that all their competitors in the area were gonna cost me a lot of money and salt, and we noticed that was not true. Even with the drinking system, Kinetico told us to keep an eye on it. We got a little gauge in there to let me know when the filters need to be changed, which we would have to pay for or we could do it ourselves. But we still have plenty of room before those filters need to be changed. It seems like it's not taking that much out of the filter to do it. So it's neat that we're saving more money than we thought we would.

I had the other kind that used electricity and what I like about Kinetico is that it doesn't use any electricity. It's self-contained. We have a lot of power outages here and it doesn't affect my water softener at all. The other system wasn't keeping the water as clear as it should be too. I would test the water, and it had several grains of hardness. Now with Kinetico the water has zero grains of hardness if you keep the salt up on it.
The people who sold me the system came right out and put in the system. They also take care of things and I trust them. It's been years that I've had Kinetico and I'm much more happy with it. I've never heard of a better water softener system that I would think about going to. This is my third Kinetico. I purchased a water softener, a primary filter, a reverse osmosis system and a system that takes the chlorine out of the water. The installers were timely and they did a fine job. Now the water is softer, I can't detect chlorine when I take a shower and the water from the reverse osmosis is very tasty.

We had a water softener before that went out and my neighbor told us that Kinetico has good water softeners. Their reps were very friendly and they were able to come out, talk us and test our water although we live way out in the country. Everything went fine during their visit. While there is no difference in our water since we have had a water softener in the house all along, our water tastes good now.

We purchased the Kinetico softener in 2008. We were told it would last up to 20 Years. This week I noticed the system flushing and it would not stop. I called for service and a very helpful tech checked and our bypass valve has failed and the meter valve as well. As it is out of warranty this is very costly and is getting the repair cost up to where we are likely going to replace the system as a valve rebuild is only guaranteed for one year and I guess to replace the meter valve is not an option for my system as it is not offered. I was impressed during the 10 years of performance but both valves breaking down and ridiculous cost are pushing us away from Kinetico.

We got Kinetico years ago. We lived in Flippin, Arkansas and the water was awful. It was extremely hard and we saw that we would be better off with a water softener. We had been to one of the kids' houses and they had a water softener downstairs. But that thing ground up salt at night and it was big and loud. It drove me crazy. We also didn’t much care for it because the water was salty. Then we went to a county fair and talked to Lisa. It took us a few minutes to talk to her then we ordered the Kinetico whole house water softener. Lisa's brother installed it and it was done. It didn’t take very long and we were really happy with Kinetico.
We live in a different town now and we got a new water softener as quickly as we could. The water over here was full of sulfur. It smelled like rotten eggs. I called Lisa and asked who the Kinetico dealer was over here. She said, "You're talking to her." I told her what we needed and she said okay. She asked who was gonna put it in and I told her we would get a plumber. We called this plumbing company and they worked together. They came over and looked at stuff then she brought the thing over. Lisa told the plumber how and what went where and I thought the plumber was the worst part. He took forever to get it installed. It could have been done in an hour but the system has worked flawlessly ever since.
The system uses a lot less salt than it used to. But it may be the type of water or the improvements on the machine. There are two tanks sitting in our laundry room, right off the kitchen, and you'll never know it was running unless you walked in the laundry room and put water into the thing. The Kinetico system is the best thing on the market. You can't do any better. It doesn’t use any electricity either.

I'm a customer in Davis, California. Recently, several cities in our area completed a water project that alleviated some of the hard water concerns and reduced the contaminants that were coming from our groundwater, including hard water conditions. This reduced the number of hard water systems that our local dealer was selling. Consequentially, Kinetico's partner sales quota was not being met. So Kinetico, in the ultimate act of not giving 2c about their customers, completely pulled the partnership agreement to our local water company.
There is now no local company that can provide parts for Yolo County, and none of the other dealers want to make the significant drive down to service equipment. Instead of putting customers first and recognizing the need to continue to service the 20+ years of installed customers in the region, Kinetico put short-term profit concerns ahead of customers. We are having to rip and replace a less than two year old and more than $1500 reverse osmosis system as we cannot get replacement cartridges, and Kinetico doesn't have a non-dealer channel to get them. Shame on this company. Shame on Kinetico for abandoning their end-users. We will never do business with your company again. We have almost $5000 invested in Kinetico equipment, but this will be the last time we ever purchase or recommend anything from the company again.
Think very carefully about the fragility of their dealer network before you buy. Might be ok in big cities where they have almost overlapping dealer networks. But in areas that aren't as populated as New York or San Francisco, Kinetico doesn't have redundant coverage. Combined with their willingness to simply abandon thousands of customers that have been with them for decades, and you can really see what Kinetico as a company stands for. It's not pretty.
Samuel and Kinetico has had good private conversation. It is true that Kinetico dealers are provided specific territory to cover and if the coverage is not met, the area will be given to another company that provides appropriate brand representation.
The purpose is to insure that potential customers receive the quality product they desire and do not get flipped to a lesser product and existing customers obtain the quality service they deserve.
This is good business.
However; in the county referenced in this review, it is not the case. The business partnership was dissolved for other reasons. All customers registered in the warranty registration data base were informed by letter of the 3 dealers that now cover the area.
Kinetico welcomes any and all questions regarding our business practices.

I had a Kinetico system in 2005 in my previous home in Tampa, Florida and I liked it. The water was okay and everything was good. Then we had a home built out in the country across the state line in Georgia, across the river. I had the water tested and the guy said that it had a little iron in it. But another guy came out from another company. He checked it out and said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with this water, which I kinda already knew. I grew up here in the same spot at my grandparent’s old place. We have a deep well that's 188 feet deep and the water tasted fine. But it was a little rough. It may have had a lot of scale or calcium.
I had a new pump put in the well and I don’t know if the guy who did it disturbed something in the line but the water seemed to get more iron. Our master shower started getting a little more orange-ish. My wife was having to scrub the thing every two or three days. She said she shouldn't have to do that and that there was something going on here. Then we got the Kinetico system and now, it’s once every two weeks that you have to get in there and scrub a little bit, but not much. It’s a lot easier to clean.
The installation was easy as well. These guys hooked everything up. Two guys came out and wanted to run it in through my laundry room and down the drain into my septic. Instead, I suggested turning that line back around the other way, come back out the garage wall, come back basically the same way they were going in and put it out there in the yard somewhere. They had some concerns about the grass but I told them that I live in the country and I couldn't care less about the grass. Then they said that out of concern, they should send a word around to HOA. But I’m on five acres and I don’t have a neighbor so who cares? I guess they were used to hooking up around HOAs in Jacksonville.
There was also a slight stench of sulfur that sprung up though, and we still have that for some reason. I had mentioned it when I came in to CGC two months before and bought more salt. They instructed me to put a little bit of bleach in the salt bin but it really didn’t help a lot. The main office gal upfront also said that she would have some guy come back out and check it out. But I’ve never seen that guy. That fell through the cracks. But it’s not an emergency anyway. It’s a very limited stench. I really can’t smell it but my wife can. She’s just finicky. But other than that, it's all good. The water is definitely better than it was.
It’s not Kinetico's fault that the water has a little sulfur in it. I thought I paid enough money for this system though. This thing was $4,515 itself. The guy didn’t mention a whole-house reverse osmosis system though, and I thought about doing that. But they wanted $15,000 and I don’t know for sure if it would do what it’s supposed to do. So I got hesitant on that one. The money was doing the talking on that one. But all in all, the experience has been good. Kinetico does what they’re supposed to do.

We had lived in Arizona and the water there was really bad. It tasted like chlorinated dirt water. We were at a home show in Phoenix many years ago and we saw the Kinetico water systems. We talked to different people who had different systems in their houses, but they were still not happy with them. We looked at Kinetico and tried the water that they had from the systems they had on people's houses there, and the water tasted fantastic from the crappy awful water that was showing up in our clothes, our skin and our appliances. So, we had a Kinetico system installed in Arizona.
After that, we moved to Virginia, but there was no Kinetico down at Central Virginia at that time. We whined and cried about it. We moved to Atlanta and there was no Kinetico at that time. We whined and cried about it. I went to Mississippi and there was no Kinetico there. We whined and cried about it, too. But when we moved here, we found out that there was a system available. We've only been here for a few weeks before they had the system installed. The water here in Huntsville is also really bad, so we purchased a water softener, a water filter system and a RO system.
Kinetico's sales representative was phenomenal. He was totally a people person and was extremely responsive. Not only did he walk me through my Kinetico system, but he has also helped me out with some other things in the house. He has met so many people in the area through his job that he has put me in contact with other services to assist me with things such as a useful handyman and a better plumber. He went above and beyond and was extremely knowledgeable.
The installation team was fantastic and they were another above and beyond team. We wanted to make sure everything was right. I started having some trouble with the RO system not working periodically and found out it was an operator error, but they sent somebody out right away to figure out what the problem was. My skin feels so much better and the water tastes phenomenal since having the system installed. We had the system put in with the RO that adds minerals back in, so it tastes like expensive bottled water like Dasani.
My scalp is horribly dry and flaky and itching like crazy. I get my hair shampooed and blow-dried. My scalp is awful when the place doesn’t use filtered water, but when they use the Kinetico, it really helps my scalp come back. In fact, I may end up having to switch to a different place or take a gallon of my filtered water with me because the water bothers my scalp so much. When I wash my hair at home, it starts to clear up. Kinetico definitely makes a huge difference in the water and what it does for the skin. I have already recommended them to friends and family members. My husband had gotten a Zero Water Filter thing other than the more expensive one from Bed, Bath and Beyond, but when we would take the water from the tap and run it through Zero Water Filter, there would be mini grains of sand in it and the little filter thing would wear out twice as fast as it is supposed to so that's how bad the water is.
If Kinetico wants to put me in a commercial, I'll be happy to do it because I really believe in the product. It is the second system we've had. I believe it's helping the people. People said that they looked into it, but it was expensive, but I said, "And so is dying or being sick or getting cancer." Kinetico also did a great job in hiring phenomenal people and I cannot say enough about the folks that I've dealt with.

I purchased a water softener for my new home from Kinetico and the water is not as hard as it was. I got their distributor and I could call them any time and she answers all my questions. I would recommend Kinetico. The biggest thing for us was the price because there's a lot of stuff out there that's not as expensive. But after we looked at the advantages not being on electric and some other things that outweighed the monetary part of it.

I had my local health department check my well source, then it was found that it had E. coli and coliform in it. I've got a buddy who is a salesperson for water softeners and I talked him into selling me one. The guys who run the shop in Boston, Georgia do a great job too. For any questions that I've had, they address it head on. I asked for solutions they had for me and I asked them to give me a quote to get it. They got me a quote, sold it to me and I was able to get it installed the next day. They were very quick, efficient, and professional. I've had a reverse osmosis with the UV light filtration system for a couple of months now. It does the job well and it's reduced our cost by half. Also, I've already referred Kinetico to several folks and I would recommend them if it's needed.

The washing machine had a lot of build up. We also have an ice machine that was giving a spit. We even had one of those canister filters on it, and it still kept getting a lot of lime deposits and messing the ice machine up. So, we decided to look into filtration. A Kinetico guy came out and he was very interesting. He showed us a lot and we learned a lot. He tested the water and we had a lot of lime in it. We thought we would get a system to help clean up the water that goes into the house and the Kinetico water system took care of a lot of stuff.
The installer checked on us and the installation just took a few hours. He was there in a day and did the system. We did the whole house system for the lime deposits. And then we put the one in the kitchen for just drinking water and cooking water. It's under the sink system. He then checked back with us after, and we got the big thing for the salt. Since using the Kinetico systems, the soap lasts longer, and I have not had problems with the ice machine.

We live on a six acre land and I got well water. There's a lot of sediment in the water and the iron levels are high, so the water is hard. It was staining the shower and other stuff, hence not the best thing for us. I bought a Kinetico water softener with the filter as well as a soda ash container and a pressure pump. The plumbers took a little longer to install than expected but they just ran in some issues since the pump was defective. They had to get back and get another one. Still, they were great. While we paid about $5,000, we'd do it again if I had to do it again. We're happy with our Kinetico experience and the water is delicious now.

I've always had a water filtration system on my house, but it was 17 years old and dilapidated and it was time for a new one. I'm a commercial refrigeration service technician that works on commercial establishments and all of the Darden Restaurants use Kinetico Water Systems, so when I decided to get a new one, I figured I would call Kinetico and see if they had a residential version, and they did. I've got a system through them that's working great and I never had a problem with Kinetico. I got the one with the water-driven system on it, so there is no electricity involved. A lot of commercial establishments use Kinetico and I work on all their equipment. It has the water running through them and they don't have hardness issues, so I knew that it was a good piece of equipment.
The gentleman from Kinetico showed up on time and he was really helpful and really professional. He knew what he was talking about and he had facts and everything to back it up. He wasn't just spouting off numbers. The people that installed the system were awesome. I've never seen anybody work quite like that. They were impressive. I'm very pleased with the product and the service.

We have horrible water in Branson. It was hard and stinky, so they treat it with a lot of chlorine which was not good for my wife. So, we chose to soften the water and get something better for ourselves and for our pets to drink. I researched and it came down to Kinetico and RainSoft. Kinetico was more expensive but it was a good system and it was complete so, we got a water softener and a carbon filter. Wes at Air & Water Solutions was good to work with on getting the appointment set up. When he came out, he accepted the fact that our water was hard and it was not about what he can do but the stuff that has already been covered. He went through it all.
We had a difficult or an awkward installation because of the general configuration and he brought an installer in to go over it. He made sure that he understood what they would have to do and how they would have to do it before he got started and before we got contracted. It was one of his own employees and he had him here the next day. The two of them looked at things and measured them out to make sure they understood how they were going to accomplish what it was we wanted and if they could actually do it. We came to the conclusion that they could and they did it quite well.
For the first five months, the water was great. It was comfortable to bathe again and you felt clean when you were done. Then, after about five months, we happened to replace the water heater because it was an older one and had all the build-up in it. By taking all the chlorine out, we wound up with stinky water and so, we replaced the water heater. After five months, we wound up with stinky water again. We called and what it came down to is because we had taken all the chlorine out of the water through the softening, we were starting to get a little bit of a build-up. So, we wound up having to add an electronic anode rod to the water heater to take care of the problem that the chlorine had previously taken care of to deal with the odor. Since then, it has been fine but we wound up replacing just about everything in the water system.
As bad as our water is here, people should plan right upfront, when they do the water softener. If their water heater is more than a year old, they should go ahead and do the water heater at the same time and make sure it’s got an electronic anode rod because the chemical exchange anode rods aren’t strong enough with the water we’ve got. I would still recommend Kinetico. I’m very happy with what we’ve got going on now although it was painful to get here. It’s just people need to know upfront what they’re facing on this water.

The installation of the softener and the filtration system went very well. The installation guy replaced the pipe under the house with ¾-inch from a ½-inch so it was good. He was very nice and professional. Ever since having Kinetico as our system, there's a huge difference in our water. Before we had to change the filter more often because we're on well water. When I take a shower there is a burning sensation in my eyes, my white clothes are dingy and my silverware is no longer silver. a few months ago I watered my IRIS bed with softened water, they all died. What is in my healthy, softened sodium free water? I took a sample from my well head and from the faucet of softened water to Aquatic Consulting and Testing, a state certified company. They tested for hardness and sodium, the results left me stunned. These are the standards the USGS uses for soft water/sodium content.
0-75MG/L; Soft water. 300+ MG/L very hard water. Sodium content; Anything over 20MG/L I should notify a doctor. TEST RESULTS - Wellhead hardness: 970MG/L. Faucet soft water: 500MG/L. Sodium content: 432MG/L. As you can see, nothing Kinetico promised is within tolerances. My Kinetico franchise tech. looked at the results and the excuses started coming. The last charges from him were $175 trip and $325 for parts. I have complained, for years, to Kinetico region/corporate to Jan, Mike, Jesse and Jennifer and my tech. Nothing has been solved.
I have spent over 2.5K and had to buy a new water heater. The servicing tech. would not honor the warranty, it was 2.5yrs old, because the bottom was filled with white stuff. We had a flood in the basement and lost a lot of paper work and have been unable to find our rental agreement.

Since the installation of the unit, it has helped with our skin especially in the wintertime. It also helps to moisturize our skin and it makes it feel slippery. Also, there are no longer hard water spots in the shower anymore. We really like Kinetico.
The thing I like the best about it is that there’s no electric involved and that you have the two media tanks and it switches back and forth when you hit x amount of gallons of water usage. In our other water softener, we had it on a timer where it would regenerate in the middle of the night. This one is probably set at about 250 gallons. Every 250 gallons, it regenerates and it switches over to the other media tank. So there’s no interruption in service of soft water like there was with the other one. So that is one of the really great features of this system.

We bought the house about five years ago and the old softener from the previous owner was one of the cheap units that only lasts five years. It completely broke and we needed to get it replaced. We purchased a residential water softener from Kinetico. We did an online request and it's built-in to the site. Then they contacted us less than two days later. Everything was smooth. Fortunately, my wife and I have a little bit of flexibility to work from home and they showed up when they said that they would. Their salesperson was excellent. He came over, explained everything, and he was very thorough.
One of the local places that we have gone to gave me a cheaper quote over the phone, but they didn't even come to the house and inspect what we had as a system. Kinetico was not the cheapest price, but the rep that came over was worth the extra 200 bucks because it was nice to know that he knew exactly what he was doing and he explained what the installers would do. I also had more confidence with him coming over to the house rather than just somebody saying, "Oh yeah, it's this price. Then we'll come over. We'll put your equipment." They don't even know if I live in a McMansion or a shack. It was just very strange to me. The installers came in and were in there for less than two hours. Our new system is way more efficient in terms of the salt that you use, it's cleaner, and it looks great. The water feels better and the showers are better too. You can also tell that it's installed properly. Overall, it's a better unit than the older one.
A lot of my friends actually live in the city or out in Long Island. A lot of them has sewage or city hook-up. I would tell friends to check Kinetico out and at least see the quote and their offer. Having well water, I always grew up with a water softener and it was really important making sure that there are no freaky sediments coming out of the ground.

We were concerned with our water's cleanliness and the chlorine. So we got a water filtration system from Kinetico. My wife was there during the installation and it took about a half a day. It went well and smoothly. My wife was satisfied. The installer did a really good job. The system seems to be working really well. The water is softer and there are no streaks in the shower. My wife likes the system because the water is not as hard on the hair. Plus, we don’t have to buy the bottled water anymore. I would highly recommend Kinetico.

I bought a water softener from Kinetico and the reps didn’t have to do very much selling. I knew what I wanted. I’ve had one previously in another residence and I needed what they had. The installation went perfectly and we’ve had it right at a year. Since then, the water has had very good changes. We got a dechlorinator as well. To maintain the system, I put salt into the container. Kinetico has a good product in comparison to other companies at a very good price. So, you get your money’s worth.

The hardness of our water led me to begin researching for filtration systems. We purchased a whole house system from Kinetico and we've had it since March 2018. When the plumbing people broke the water system, we had to call Kinetico and get it repaired. Their representatives were good. Whatever the plumbing people broke wasn't something that's normally repaired, but Kinetico's repairmen were really helpful when they came out. They got it done and set it up again, so that was good. So far, we're happy with how the water is when it comes out of the faucet. It's definitely better.

Every time I’ve called them or when I have a little problem, they came right out. They're Johnny-on-the-spot. They're great and so I’m very pleased. Now, we don’t have as much problem with the hard water in the house as well as with the clothes and dishwasher. So, our water has improved quite a bit with the Kinetico water softener.

I had a good experience with Kinetico. I got a water softener and a part of that is for the filtration. But when they came and installed it, there was some issue with the valve. They came to check the water faucets after the installation and then I showed issue to them. They were supposed to place the valve to emergency shut-off between the main line and the water filtration system. But they never gotten back to me regarding that. So I called Kinetico up to report that nobody has called in to look into it. But after that, I never heard any. Except for that, the installation went well and since then, the water has been better. We got Kinetico's water softener and it has been holding up really good. There's a major difference. The water here is so hard that I didn’t realize how bad it's affected everything. So with this system, we don’t have water build-up. We have a all-glass shower, and everything looks great with it. The water tastes good and my husband only has to replace the salt once every three week.
I also loved the installation guy from Kinetico. I'm one of those that ask a lot of questions, and my husband was at work, so I did a lot of research with different names, and he answered all of my questions. After the installation I couldn't remember exactly where to get the salt from, I texted him on a weekend and he texted right back. The system we got is supposed to outlast all the other water softener. The water softener system for the value seems to be the better choice versus the tank which is a whole system. This should be easier, work really good, and we're happy so far. The system is pretty expensive so we're hoping everything's gonna be good for a while.

Our water heater went out. Through the process of going with a tankless water heater, we talked about other options to help with keeping the water clean, filtering out particulates and keeping the calcium from building up so bad. Our contractor, Air & Water Solutions, suggested first a pre-filter for the house and a water softener to help. Kinetico was what they sold, so that's what we went with. They didn't sell us hard. Instead, they gave us all the information necessary to make a good decision. It was really nice to have them with us. The only issue we had, unfortunately, was that they only had one Kinetico water softener left and the one they brought happened to have bad threading. So they had to bring a different one two days later.
Since we got the system set up, though, I noticed there is a flavor difference which throws me off a little bit. Still, I've gotten used to it now. Also, I've noticed that we don't have to do as much cleaning of our faucet and the water is much more slippery whenever we're taking a shower. So we have to make sure we're actually holding on to dishes when we're doing the dishes in the sink. All in all, I'm very satisfied with how our system is working.

I've had Kinetico several years ago. I've tried the Home Depot ones, and that didn't work. And then, I was putting in an on-demand water heater, and I knew I needed a water softener to put that in, otherwise, it would not last. The sales rep of Kinetico was nice, and we went through everything. I looked at another system since the Kinetico was a little bit higher. But when I kinda weighed it out, I felt a little more comfortable going with Kinetico because I knew the history of the one I had. The water softener of Kinetico is great.
The installation team had been really good too. I have outside faucets. I had a ceiling in the basement downstairs and they took their time and figured out a way to kinda go around it so I could have regular water at both of the outside faucets. I was used to having this soft water and I'm pleased with Kinetico. I would recommend them.

So, what used to be hard water has improved in quality. I called the company that installed the softener about three weeks ago to make another analysis of the water to make sure that it was running properly. I like the Kinetico system. I especially like not having to use the bottled water. However, I don’t know how to maintain the system because I’m not calling Air & Water Supply back. In fact, I would tell others not to ever hire the people in Osage to do the installation because those guys know nothing about what they’re doing.
I hired Kinetico to change out my water heater and put in the water softener and the reverse osmosis for drinking. I guess Air & Water Supply is the licensed contractor here in the Osage Beach area for Kinetico. But they broke my water main off the inside of my wall and completely flooded out my condo. Plus they lied to me. They told me that I had a little leak and they cleaned it up with my mop. Thank goodness I had somebody down here to come look and they said the water was flooding out of my my kitchen door. The water came out so fast that it hit the wall and out to the side of the condo then went into my neighbor’s condo.
The plumbers told our HOA person that they would call this water mitigator, have them out there that day and get it cleaned up. But what they did in fact was go get a Rug Doctor and pull out whatever water they could get. Then they told me it was all dried up and it was fine. But the next day, the same person that I know came in to check it and the water had moved underneath the carpet and into the bedroom. I had to have water mitigators come in here and dry it all up. They had to strip out every single piece of flooring and cut off the bottom four inches of all of my dry wall. I also had to replace cabinets. It was a mess.
When I had called and asked Air & Water Supply to come back out here so the water mitigators could come and dry all of it up, they had the audacity to ask me who they were gonna bill for it. I had to pay another plumber to disconnect everything so it could be cleaned up then connect everything back up. Also, when I called them and asked them questions, they shut me out and told me that they’ll send it to their insurance and I had to deal with them. But when I called their insurance, they hadn’t sent it in yet. So I had to go through mine.
The only thing that Air & Water Supply contacted me for was to receive the balance of their payment. Whenever you do this, you pay half down and they continuously bother me about when they’re gonna get the other half. It's been four months and I’m 95% done fixing my condo. I don’t think I should have to pay them the rest of the payment. When they hooked up my Kinetico system under the sink, they even did it not to code. They had the water shut off valve in front of the electrical box. Based on the plumbers who put the system in, I'm very dissatisfied with Kinetico. I’m not a happy camper.

I had a good experience with Kinetico. I got a water softener and filter system from them. We bought a brand new house and the water here is really hard, it’s 20-plus grain water. We’ve had systems before and made the decision that when we bought this house, we would buy a water softener and a reverse osmosis purification system. I researched all the products that were available in the marketplace and chose Kinetico. Their system is a genius, the use of water pressure to run the whole thing. It also has fewer issues, maintenance-wise.
Interacting with Kinetico's rep was straightforward. The installation went smoothly and the mechanic did a good job on it. Kinetico's system is nice and it works well. Since having the water system installed, our water is a lot better. The installer also pointed something out underneath my house and it was pretty interesting. We've had the water softener system since July 7th and I can tell the difference the water has on our skin. Also, we haven't noticed anything on our faucets. There isn't any build-up and any hard water on the glass doors. Kinetico is the only way to go.

I had extremely hard water with lots of mineral deposits around the faucets. We had just bought the house and saw that it was a problem. Kinetico was referred to us and the guy from Kinetico came out and gave me a little song and dance. Before he was even done, I was already sold on it because I liked the technology and the way it was set up, and the name was good. The system has no electricity and it was kinda neat. It also did not require yearly maintenance. Everything is self-enclosed and it requires very little to do, except the salt. It was particularly appealing to me. It is a very low-maintenance system.
The installation process was simple. The gentleman came out much sooner than I had probably would expect from anyone else. He was out within a couple of days when I decided to do it with Kinetico. Something wasn't set up exactly right to accommodate where we were putting the system and he had to tap off another pipe. Without too much difficulty, he was able to install it exactly where it made sense at, and it was his idea to put it there. The installation process didn't take terribly long and it wasn't an inconvenience.
I have noticed that there are no more mineral deposits and hard water stains. I'd only have to use a little soap. The system delivered everything that the soft water is supposed to deliver. Also, my glass shower doors don't get as filthy anymore. And since there's an extra filter on the system, the water tastes outstanding. I'm one of those believers in "you get what you pay for" and while the system might have been up a bit higher than the basic water softener from their competitors, it was well worth it. It is easy to maintain and doesn't require a lot, just remember to add the salt.
The only thing that would be wise somewhere along the way is to have a timing device to let you know when it is time to add salt. The only way to find out if you need to put salt is to go down into the basement and open the system up and take a look inside. If there was a device that would say, "Beep. Hey, it's time to change me," that would be helpful. There is probably an app that could do something like that. When I forgot to check the first time, there was no salt left and we don't want to get to that point again, so now, I'm a little more stolid about doing what I'm supposed to do. I've highly recommended Kinetico and if I am put on the phone with somebody, I'd sell it right to them.

He was willing to answer all my questions like my inquiry about the amount of salt that would be in the water.
But I wasn’t happy with the installation. We had a leak from the installation because there was a part of the unit that wasn’t correctly installed. I don’t know if it was an installation problem or if it was just a defective unit, but it was part of the water softener unit that wasn’t done correctly. We had to do an insurance claim with Kinetico to get the water damage fixed. Dealing with the plumbing and everything to completely finish the house was difficult.
I like the reverse osmosis and the drinking water part of it because I can tell a difference in our water there. But as far as the regular water used for the showering and stuff, I haven’t really noticed that it is easier to clean the hard water stains or that I can use less soap.
