I called a water tester in our area who's the distributor for Kinetico and that was the only brand he recommended. We got a Kinetico water softener for the iron and the manganese in our water. Bill, the gentleman who came out, was really helpful, and the people who installed the system were great. They were clean. I can now wash my white clothes without having rust stains on them, which is really good. I also color my hair and my hairdresser had said that she could tell that my hair doesn't look quite so brassy. She couldn't feel the minerals on my hair as much. We're also just making sure we can drink the water out of the tap and it tastes good. Everything seems to be going really well and we're happy with Kinetico.

I was concerned with the quality of my water and there were discrepancies in the water test. I looked into a water filtration system and bought a reverse osmosis filter from Kinetico. The reps were awesome and the guy I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable. Likewise, the installation was very professionally done and the young man that did it was very good at what he does. It has been a few months now since I've had the system installed and the water obviously tastes better and the ice is better to the ice machine. The product itself is great, but I was really impressed with the combination of the sales and the installation, which were top shelf.

We use well water and when I tested it when we first drilled the well, it was borderline with high-iron content. After about four years of that, we decided to reach out to someone that sells the Kinetico stuff. The reps did a good job and got it installed. They explained everything to my wife on how it works and how to change the pre-filter on it. It was dumping too much water so they readjusted it and everything’s working great. We could definitely tell a difference with the taste. We also don’t have the hard water spots when we wash our cars and laundry.
The only thing that I wish they would do is make the filters available online. You basically gotta go right back to the same dealer that you worked with, and it just makes it a lot easier for the consumer if they made those where you could just purchase some right direct from the internet. Nevertheless, I would recommend Kinetico.

Was very happy with system and the company that supplied the water softener system. The person was very knowledgeable about products along with the testing the water as well. He also returned to check to make sure we were happy. I did think the system was a little expensive but I think it will work well for us.

Joseph was very professional and businesslike. He did what needed to be done, and explained everything to my satisfaction. My one complaint is not with Joseph, but with the way in which the service contract is billed. The relevant service visit was free, and was not charged; however, I was setting up a new service contract. That contract is billed a year in advance, and that part not only was not explained, there was no indication on the bill that this was for a payment being made in advance. I hand wrote on the receipt on the line which simply says 'labor' that this was being paid for the coming year. This fuzzy way of handling the billing itemization of the annual service contract is pretty lame in my estimation, and not consistent with the otherwise quality service being provided.
One other thing, the test for whether or not the water softener was filtering out minerals was pretty Mickey Mouse if you ask me. When I ask that he perform a different test, those results were inconclusive because his testing powder was out-of-date and didn't appear as the proper color. I still am not confident that our water hardness is really '0', especially because up until now it has NEVER tested as '0' with the equipment currently being used.
Hi Mark,
Thanks for making Kinetico aware of your concerns. We will pass them on to the local dealer so that they can look into their processes and make corrections as necessary. We'll also ask them to call you to follow up.

We are the owners of a well that supplies water to several residences and as part of the responsibilities or maintenance of that, we had to water check for various elements, and arsenic came up a little higher than it should've been. We started to investigate the different ways of removing arsenic, and I was put in touch with a wholesaler of water filtration systems. They gave me the name of a gentleman and a company not far from where our well is. It was through them that we had this project installed, and they are the ones that carried the Kinetico line. We purchased a water softener, and also a point of view system to deal with arsenic.
Shiloh Water Systems out of Mt. Angel installed the Kinetico system, and they were knowledgeable, had lots of experience, and did a good job. They had been installing that line of products for quite a long time and they mentioned how it doesn't consume high amounts of salts for the water softening. It ended up being very little maintenance, which is something I really appreciate, not being able to be there very often myself. I would recommend Kinetico to others.

I had a lot of Sulphur and rust in my water. One of our friends put Kinetico in their house and the system works. I had the same issue he has so we got one ourselves. It was convenient setting up the appointment. The rep came here and did a good job. He showed us what we needed and took a sample. Since the installation of our system we have no more staining on the toilets and sinks.

My sister just recently had a system installed at her Yuma Az. home, and she loves it. My home is near Surprise Az. About 180 miles away with approx. same level of hardness. Got a quote on same system and the quote was a $1000 higher and I was told I would have to get new resin tanks every 4 or 5 years at a cost of $376. They have the right to charge whatever they want, but not getting my dime.
Hi Gary,
There are a variety of causes for differing prices from area to area, which we are not in a position to answer to with this situation as we are not party to either sales contract or know the specifics.
We do see that the Yuma and Phoenix dealers often do not install the same units, taking advantage of the good better best availability.
We'll reach out to the dealer in the Surprise area with a request they explain their pricing to you.

The reps knew what they were talking about, and if I had any questions, they were able to answer them right there. They were super nice and helpful. The installers were excellent as well. My water has a lot of minerals and I like Kinetico's water filtration system. It's nice and I can see the difference, especially in water pressure. There used to be a lot of mineral buildup in my shower and in the sinks, and that's gone now. However, the first time I tried to follow the video on YouTube and changed the filter, I made a mess because I was trying to keep up and I couldn't. It was a little hard to follow. Luckily, the guy showed me how to do it, so I knew what I was doing.

There is a lot of calcium in the water where we live so we were trying to minimize what kind of damage that does to all the appliances over time. Our friend had his house remodeled and referred us to the guy who did his water filtration system in the next town over. We used the same guy and happened to do Kinetico. My wife did a lot of research and she said that Kinetico seemed to be the one that she wanted due to the reputation and people's reviews about them. The installation guy came and looked at it. He gave us a bid because we had a brand-new house built and there wasn’t anything in there yet for a water filtration system. We said okay and then when he came, he brought everything with him and did some of the revamping of the plumber that plumbed the water in the garage. He fixed that plumber's mistake while he was there.
The installer explained that if we needed to bypass the filtration, we could just open the valve and close a different valve, and it would be like there was no water filtration system. We've always had hard water. When you hop in the shower, it feels like you still got soap on you when you're done because the water is softer. You don't notice any calcium build-up on the edge of the faucets. Then, we've got an icemaker with water in our new fridge too. It has its own filter too, but that probably helps it because it doesn't have to spit out all that excess calcium and iron. I've told friends of mine about Kinetico because they said that they probably need to get one. Kinetico is the best value for their money.

I live in an area that is known for really hard water. It's not dangerous but it has a lot of minerals. So it can smell and be colored. I ended up going with Kinetico because it was the only under-the-sink system we could find that was powerful enough, with the added pump that we have, to also work with my refrigerator. They require a certain amount of pressure to actually work, like for making ice. I've tried other ones before and they didn't work. We had water but it couldn't power the refrigerator. Kinetico's under-the-sink reverse osmosis drinking water station base system is very expensive but the guy who came and installed it was awesome. He was a really nice guy. We've had it for a little over a year now and my refrigerator works.

Our water softener broke, and we had really hard water with lots of iron. My boss's mom used to work for Kinetico, and he got a system in right before we did. I went online and got the appointment set up which was super easy. The rep that came was pleasant. He did the test and went through the system and how it would benefit us. However, I felt bad for the installation guys. Our pressure tank busted on them, but that was an old tank so we ended up having to buy a new one. Everything went wrong for them, but they got it done in a day and it worked out. We had used a different brand and Kinetico is much better. With their system, I definitely don't have to clean my tub and shower as often. I also don't have to buy bottled water anymore, and my dishes aren't cloudy when I wash them. The only thing I didn't like was the price, but you get what you pay for. It's a good investment.

We've got our own well and it was really high in iron. It was turning everything orange, including the white showers, sinks, and toilets. Things were already getting stains, and we'd gotten some really good reviews from a couple of people that we knew about Kinetico, so that helped. We decided to go with the full Kinetico water softening system. It was about $4,000 and we were able to put it on a Home Depot credit card with 0% for two years, so that was a big selling point too.
Kinetico tested the water before setting up the system, and they've been great after that and during the installation. They were very clean and professional. I've called them two different times to stop by. They called one time to check on the filters, and they came out and had a guy do that. I tried to check it myself about a month later, and I couldn't get one loosened and they had a guy stop by and show me how to do it. There was something I wasn't releasing pressure on. They took care of us real well, and it's been a whole lot better than before we got the system.

My Kinetico system has been in for a month now. I have been very satisfied with softness of my water and the great taste. It makes cleaning so much easier when the water is not hard. All of the employees have been so nice. They are true professionals, starting with the salesman to scheduling personnel to the installation men. The installation men always wore shoe coverings so they did not bring in dirt and ask my opinion on everything they did. They left my house with nothing out of place. My experience was perfect and so is my water!

We were very unhappy with Culligan's system and service, and we could tell it was a night and day difference the second we got the Kinetico system. I had the under the sink RO system and then we did the WaterSoft home filter and softener system with Kinetico. I heard a commercial on the radio and what prompted me to check it out was the fact that it doesn't use electricity.
The reps at Kinetico were happy to set an appointment. They even sent us a thank-you letter just for contacting them. The free water test was nice. We had clear iron and tannins in our water. The rep got back to us because although there was arsenic present in our water, it barely registered on the test strip. It was a good learning experience with everything he did.
Everything went nice and clean during the installation. I was there with the gentleman the whole time and helped him out. He got it done quicker than he probably would have by himself, and it looks nice. It sits in the corner and it’s not in the doorway like the old system was. Our water had a scent to it before but since the installation our water doesn't stink anymore. Our water also tastes a lot better than bottled water almost or than it did with Culligan. It tastes good. I get out of the shower, I'm not slimy like I used to be. The different technologies Kinetico operates on versus what the traditional system is makes a world of difference.
We're happy with Kinetico. Another nice thing we like about the system is we financed it, but it's ours. The payment's going somewhere, and Culligan would not work with us on that. They wanted us to pay the same amount for what the Kinetico system cost for an eight-year-old used system so we had enough of them. We've been recommending Kinetico to other people already that are interested in changing. Everything works and I'm glad we did it.

I purchased unit 3/5/2011. When I purchased unit I was told it be care free and last 10 to 20 years worry free. After purchase I still noticed sulfur odor and purchased SC1054 filter. I was told this would extend the life of the softener as well as filter odr and iron. I was hearing new noises from the filter and called for maintenance. Not only is the filter no longer functioning but the iron build up has ruined the softener. 10/22/2018. I am not sure I should purchase a newer upgraded filter and new softener for $6300. I thought the softeners were supposed to be able to be refurbished but am told that is not the case. Worked well for seven years but the price seems way too high to comparable systems.
Hi John,
Sorry to hear of your displeasure. In checking records, we do see high hardness and iron at your site. A softener will not remove sulfur, so additional equipment would be required whether at the time of original install or later.
In reading your notes, we wonder if something happened with the water that is resulting in the equipment requiring replacement.
We'll check in with your installing dealer and ask them to follow up with clarification.

I've had Waterite in the house for a few years and I've been getting iron bleed through on that system. I'd get that orange stain in the toilet bowl and even in my shower. It's pretty common with the single tank electric type units, so when I saw the performance of the twin tank non-electric, I had to have one. I work for Aquarius Home Services which is a Kinetico dealer, so I've been installing Kinetico for a little over a year now. They've hooked me up with a good deal and I got the RO system. Installing and servicing it went well and I did the water testing myself. It has been a good product so far and now I don't have any more iron bleeds throughout the house. We also have the K5 drinking system and I'm loving that too. Kinetico can take care of tannins, sulfur, and any other water problem, and I've been recommending them to everybody.

My community had high levels of radon gas and other organic materials in their water so I contacted the people with the state to ask about getting materials to test my well. The test came back with very high levels of a lot of things. I did a little research on my own and Kinetico was the most complete service available. A lot of the other places did one thing and if I wanted something else, I had to go somewhere else. With Kinetico, they were a full-service deal in terms of dealing with the problems that I had.
Kinetico was flexible and really full of confidence about what I needed to do. They told me that they would be positive and I found the whole experience with them to be very positive. Three people came out with one guy who was clearly in charge. He has a PhD, very informative and easy to work with. He wasn't like some people who are very short when they're working. He would stop and explain what was going on. He would make suggestions about what he thought should be done as opposed to going in another direction and explained why. Everything about the experience with both him and the next primary installer was very good. They didn't mind talking and answering questions.
My wife and I have noticed that the water is much softer now. The drinking water is also much better. There's a very big difference between before and after. The radon gas high for us at over 20,000 units. Based on what we were told should happen, the system that's responsible for pulling the gas out is running as it should. Kinetico was out last week to take samples and they made it clear that if the samples weren't what they should be, they would be back out to address the issues. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We live in a small neighborhood with its own well system, and we asked neighbors who they recommended. One of the neighbors had gotten Kinetico. We looked into them and it looks good. Then I had Kinetico scheduled, and their guy Brandon came out and he was awesome. He was willing to look at it, and he walked me through everything. I told him I'm a visual guy and I wanted see what I'd be buying. He said, “I'm going to the warehouse tomorrow. I'll make you a YouTube video.” He actually made me my own video and sent me the link to it. He was very helpful. He did a very good job in not only selling me on the product, but also building my confidence in Kinetico.
I have every system that Kinetico sells. The installers were very accommodating. They had to drill in for the K5 and the sink faucet, and then they hooked up the water lines for the fridge. So far the K5 water is very good. It's comparable to the reverse osmosis type system that I have at work, so I'm impressed with that. Price-wise, it's almost double the price of what everybody else was telling me, but everybody else was electric and Kinetico isn't.

My other water softener system went so I purchased a Kinetico Water Systems that lasted as long as the first one did. The lady that sold Kinetico Water Systems to me was good. But after I got it in, she promised twice to come and see it and she never did. She also said that she would get me something to test my water to know that it is getting softened but I didn't get that. I'm not very dissatisfied since we're all people, we all make mistakes and don't follow up sometimes. But I would feel better if she followed up on it right away. I called a Walcott in Janesville so one of their men came out and checked the water system out for me. I told him there was a cover that wasn't put on and I wanted to know if I had put it on right. I moved into a new house which was on high manganese community water. So, bath water is brown and there is an odor to it. Somebody posted an ad about Kinetico in a networking group and I decided between them and Naturalogic. In the end, I went and bought a softener from Kinetico. Their sales rep was wonderful and very nice. The technicians were very nice as well. However, when they installed it, they drilled from the garage onto my crawlspace and cut an electrical wire. Then when they were tacking stuff up, they hit a ground line. Eventually, they made it right by sending an electrician out, but they installed on a Friday and I was without kitchen lights and exterior back lights to my house until Monday.
Also, it wasn’t until the next Saturday that the electrician came back for the outlet issue. It got fixed and all he did was pick electrical tapes to tape it up. Other than that, the electrician did not get alerted immediately about my issue on the outlet. After he left that Monday and I went to grind my coffee beans for the next morning and couldn’t, I texted him a picture of the outlet thing that was an issue. But he did not call me back until it was Thursday. But I sent the sales rep the same thing and followed up. And when I spoke to the electrician the next day, he said he just found out about it.
All in all, it took eight days to get everything fixed and the system itself cost me 4,500 which was what I paid Advanced Water. That was a hell of lot of money to go through. But after 4,500 flipping dollars, I have free salt for a year. And since I got Kinetico, the water quality is better. But the brown bath water is gonna be an issue for a while because of the hot water tank. The hot water tank is coated because it is the original one from 13 years ago. But that being said, my hair feels much better. It is no longer weird and corroded. It feels like hair again, so that is awesome.
Hi Hope,
Sorry to hear of the issues you had with the installation. Hopefully, many years of superior water and performance will regain your confidence in the name Kinetico.

The water coming out of the spigot was closer to a drizzle than it was to a stream. I replaced the filter but that wasn't the problem, so I started researching to go to the next step. Our previous unit was a Kinetico. I called Kinetico and described the issues that we were having. I knew who their people were. They have been out previously too to try to remedy the thing. Thinking it was our old unit, we tried different things.
We then got a new RO unit. The RO water was hard on certain parts on the hook spigot and our RO unit is 20 years old, so we replaced it thinking that that was the problem and it turned out maybe it wasn't. Now, we are waiting for new parts to put into the spigot but they've been a little late coming and I’m still waiting. I like the fittings on the new unit versus the old unit though. The old unit had these O-rings that leaked all the time and I would never close underneath my kitchen sink for a couple of days after a filter change because I knew the thing was gonna leak. Several times I had to call techs back out to replace the O-rings. The new one works differently and it's a better design. We've had Kinetico for a long time and overall, they've been fine.

After getting notices from Chatham County about the quality of our water, we looked into water softener filtration systems. We bought a water system, the hot water tank, and the cold water tank from Kinetico. The installation was very good and professional. They got it done and we were very happy. The quality of our water is better than before. We like it. The hot and cold water are better than bottled water. So, we enjoy it. We put salt in the water softener, and there are a couple cartridge filters we put in every now and then. They last for 18 months to two years. If we need to put the filters in or if they’re out here to do something else, we call them and have them put it in. Kinetico is a quality company. They showed up when they said they’d show up. They did the work and they charged the fair price. I have recommended them to friends.

Kinetico sold the brand that I was interested in. They came out, we talked, and I got a water softener from them. It was pretty straightforward with their reps and they were easy to deal with. The installation was part of our package and they were very open to whatever time I was available to install it. And they covered the carpeting and everything with plastic so they wouldn’t mess it. They did a nice job. Also, the water has been a whole lot softer since we got the system.

A family friend told us about LTM, a dealer of Kinetico water system products. I just moved into a new house and I purchased the water softener and the dechlorinator of Kinetico. My experience with the customer service was good. The reps answered any questions and met any needs that I had. The installers did the installation of the water system in the time that they said they were going to. Since the system was installed, I can sense a difference in the water when I take baths, but I don’t notice any difference with the drinking water in using the dechlorinator. Still and all, my experience with Kinetico has been good.

We moved into a house that is on top of limestones and the water tastes really limey. I grew up with reverse osmosis and I'm a water snob, so I like water to taste good and it’d be good for you. My sister, as well as one of my friends, has Kinetico water filtration systems. They have done a lot of research, but especially my sister, and so I decided to buy what she chose. The Kinetico rep I dealt with was great. She was natural and friendly and she was able to inform me about what we needed to do. The installation team was great as well. Since having the system, our water has been very good. Kinetico is a good solution to know that you’re drinking safe water. You own a long-term solution and it's cheaper than buying bottled water.

Our water heater blew up and slattered our basement. It was right around 20 years old or close to it and I’ve been told that when we get a new water heater, we should also get a new water softener. We learned about Kinetico online, made a phone call to them, and they came right out on the same day. Their salesperson, Kathy, was excellent and because of her, we ended up purchasing an electric water softener. Kathy sat down with my husband and I, and explained both the regular and electric processes. If knew somebody who had the regular Kinetico water softener, we might have gone in the other direction. But we didn’t learn from a friend until later and that is what they’ve for about 20 years. But when we bought from Kinetico, we were just sticking with what we knew best at that time.
So far, we’re happy with our new water softener. Also, our experience with their reps was very pleasant. I’ve returned phone calls, received all the information I ever asked for, and had emails. It was a terrific communication that I wasn’t getting from other people, which was also one of the reasons why we went with them. If my friends would ask me about Kinetico, I would tell them to go through Kathy. She’d tell them the real scoop.
Hi Kathy,

The water tastes great but the system itself is SO INFURIATINGLY DIFFICULT to deal with. Changing filters is a NIGHTMARE. I am not a plumber but I am capable of doing some things myself. The box that houses the filters is too cramped and the mechanism for screwing in the filters is a NIGHTMARE. Each time I try to do it myself, I end up cutting my hands all over, with a gallon of water all over the floor and my temper at the boiling point. Each time I've ended up having to call in the person who sold me the system. He has shown me how to DIY and I've watched videos on YouTube but the system is so badly designed that the only people who can change the filters are people who do it for a living. People like me, who try to do it once a year, will end up enraged.
Hi Peter,
Interesting feedback. We are sorry for your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share this view point. We are not certain what you are cutting your hands on. I live next to a dump and I was drinking the water for a long time. I started thinking about the contaminants that were in there. I sought some reports from the trailer park, which is not that far away, how bad the water was and I realized I’m probably on that same well. So I purchased a K5 from Kinetico Water Systems. I just went online and called the County. They knew that the water in our area was not good, suggested I get a water system and gave me the numbers of Kinetico, Callaghan, and another company. I called up the three and had them all come out.
Callaghan wanted to mount the system where it was easier for them when I didn't want it there. On the flip side, Kinetico was willing to do the installation of their system. Also, I liked some of the features of K5 drinking system from Kinetico. Since the water quality so bad, I had those extra filters. I figured it would be the one we’d keep for a long time. The installation went just fine.
When I bought the system, they told me that it would come with two faucets and a hook-up to the refrigerator for free with the price that I'd pay. They came and hooked-up one faucet, but they couldn’t hook-up the second faucet because it ran through the drywall. I was gonna custom do it and then have them come back to put it in. However, since I was gonna sell the house and move to a new house, I just had that one faucet installed. They said they’d move the system for free one time after I purchased it. After I found a new house, they said I had to pay 150 bucks for the other faucet. I’m upset because it was in the paperwork that I would get two faucets installed. I feel I should still have the right to have that faucet even though they didn’t install it because I paid for it. I’d like to use that in my new house when they move the system.
The K5 is a good system but it’s much more expensive than others and I only bought it due to the water conditions that I have. If I had a friend that wanted a drinking water system for city water, I would tell them to go with one of the cheaper ones. However, if their water is heavily contaminated, then I would recommend the K5. I also recommend it for a big family that's going gonna be drinking a lot of water. This system definitely has its benefits with how it uses the water pressure to pump it and you don’t lose any pressure. You can have a party at your house and have fresh drinking water for the whole time.

So I love that the Kinetico system can remove iron and I did not need a separate device to do so. It saves a lot of room. The installer was very nice and went the extra mile on placing the brine tank in a place he wasn't sure was going to work. His work is very clean and presentable. It has only been in for 90 min and I can already tell a huge difference in our water quality and can't wait to use the RO system after the 2 clean out cycles.

We should have been sold the K5 drinking water station, instead we were sold one year ago the A200 Drinking System. In our judgement we were misguided. The following are contaminants in our water supply. Our supplier is Del-Co Water Company Inc. Atrazine, Bromodichloromethane, Chlorate, Chloroform, Chromium, Dibromochloromethane, Dichloroacetic acid, Radiological contaminants, Total Trihalomethanes and Trichloroacetic acid. Source: ewg.org (tap water database).
The aforementioned list exposes my family to cancer, the Chlorate contaminate reportedly can be damaging to the thyroid. It was our intent to purchase this unit to address the increasing contaminates. The A200 Drinking System does not address the aforementioned contaminants based on Kinetico literature. We believe an exchange is necessary because we did not have the correct information based on our stated goals. It is important this matter will be addressed to our satisfaction.

Yes the water tastes great but not worth it!
Hi Sandra,
We are sorry to hear of your displeasure.
Water softeners are designed to remove calcium, magnesium and some dissolved iron from the water supply. They are tested and certified to meet NSF standards stating they do not impart any harmful materials into the water.
We cannot say what might be happening to your hair. Millions of people use these products with great satisfaction and having the hardness minerals removed to improve hair quality is often a selling point as there are no longer hardness minerals coating the hair.

A nice guy came and installed the system, and I like that he installed it with copper pipe and did a good job. Jack came back and checked on us again to make sure it was installed properly.
Our water feels better since we've had our system from Kinetico. We were concerned that it was gonna make us kinda slimy like the salt systems did, and it does not at all. Also, we’re kind of into coffee. We have an expensive coffeemaker and the filtration system has really helped with that because we get a lot of chlorine in our Tucson water. We were happy with the other system we got then, but when the old tank sprung a leak and ran out, Kinetico's full-house water softener was what we got. The sales rep we dealt with was a nice guy, and he did what he was supposed to do and he did it. They've made the system much more usable, and it is very small in comparison to what we had before. Kinetico came knocking on our door to test the water and then my wife and I said that we would get their system. We've had our first Kinetico water softener system for 20 years and when I called in to get a technician out, I spoke to the manager. He suggested that when they come out, we might want to consider the newer products they got now which use far less salt. He said that they would put a band-aid on it but if it rips off, then it's time. He was fantastic and so he definitely sold me on it when they came out.
The newer softener system went fluidly than the old one and the technician only had to make minor adjustments to the piping. About 2 months after the new system was installed, someone came out and tested it to make sure everything was going on right. He also spoke a little bit about the RO system, which I've been pushing my wife to get. She finally gave in and we got the RO system after that. We weren’t plumbed for any piping with the new RO and but the installation went smoothly too.
However, we had a little leak so I spoke to their repair department. The rep said that we had to wait 2 weeks for it to be fixed, which was unacceptable to me as that would mean shutting off my whole kitchen. So, we went back and forth and then I got a call from the technician named Joey. He was reaching out to me to make sure that everything was okay. I told him I got a leak in my RO system and he said that he was in the area so he would stop by. I also told him that I spoke to a rep who told me that a technician couldn't come out for two weeks and he said that he’d be the one to touch base with the rep.
In between that, the manager also called in and he okay-ed for Joey to come out. Joey wasn't the one who installed the RO, but he was the one that came out right away and made sure he was on top of everything. He was here for two minutes to fix the leak and he was fantastic. So except for the customer service I received at that time which I was upset with, Kinetico’s technicians are great.
Since using the new RO system, we don't buy bottled water anymore. We are already using the hydro flasks. I've noticed the difference as far as the taste. We also used to freeze up the water and when it starts thawing, it was first like a weird gooey instead of going straight back to the liquid. However, with the new water system, the water goes straight back to the water and better. The clarity is a lot clear and the ice cubes seem to come out a lot easier and faster from the automatic ice-dispenser.

While the reps were good, we had some other issues. The person from Kinetico flooded my living room and he drilled the hole right smack in front of my house instead of using common sense and putting it over. I caught him at that. What's worse was that they didn't fix it. They just took pictures of it and I had to clean up the mess. Furthermore, I was upset that they don't take American Express. I'm paying close to five grand and that's the one card that I use for miles. They said it's on the website. I told them that I didn't go to their website and that I used the coupon that they put in the mail. Their sales guy never told me they didn't take American Express either. I was pretty ticked about that, because I would have gone to someone else. Still, after the system was installed, the water is almost too soft.
Hi Pamela,
We are sorry about your dissatisfaction with the American Express situation and the installation. We are confident that the dealer will want to make this hole situation right if they have not already.
As far as the softness level goes, there is no level of softness, only hardness. Once a softener has removed all the hardness minerals from the water, the softener is functioning as designed. Your dealer can assist with the installation of a blending valve if you would like some hardness added back in to the water.

At our old house in Gilbert, we had used the Eco Elite water system, so we already knew that we wanted a water system at our house here. Kinetico Water Systems was saying that if we'd use their water system, at no time will hard water go through our lines because of the regeneration that it does, and that sounded good. I was also reading about how people get clean drinking water, but they don't get clean water for their whole house. Then there was a paper that reported recently how chlorine gets into your skin every time you shower.
So, I got one of Kinetico's whole home systems which has double tanks and purifies the water throughout the house and I also got the reverse osmosis system. Setting up the appointment with them was easy. The rep, David, came over and went through the water test, even though I told him that he didn’t have to since I already knew that our water was crappy, but he said that we could find out how bad our water really was. So then we went all the way through the water test and we found out that the hardness level of our water was 12 or 13. The rep was really good and I had great interactions with him. He went above and beyond in doing his work, so I was very impressed with him.
We got the water system installed before we even moved in, but I already know that there's a difference in our water. The water that we had in Minnesota where we had lived for a year is softer and the water tastes good, while the water here in Arizona tastes like crap. When we first moved down here, we used Cal Seal soap in the shower, but we had used a bunch of this soap at that place, whereas here I just use a little dab and I'm good to go. I've already told people about Kinetico.

A couple of years ago, I had a guy from Kinetico come out and was not impressed by him. He went on this long presentation about the water softener and RO and I wasn’t at that time interested in a water softener. So, I purposely stopped all my correspondence with Kinetico at that point. And then I waited until last year to reopen my inquiry with all the water softener companies. I called Kinetico back and this time I was able to get a different sales person.
I bought a water softener and an RO system from Kinetico. I notice that the water is soft majority of the time which my previous water softener was doing. However, the way that it is cycled out before was a little bit different. I had it on our system a long time ago and I have been buying bottled water for the longest time. I still buy bottled water so I can give it to guests but it’s a lot easier to have an RO system. I’m trying to figure out the cost of the filters compared to the amount of money I’m spending in bottled water, but I think the actual filter is gonna end up being more expensive rather than me just buying cases of bottled water from Costco.
I’d tell others to shop around. I’m still trying to justify whether this extra money is worth it. My friend bought one for about a $1000 cheaper through a different company and I said “Okay, I’ll be the guinea pig and buy us the more expensive one and then let’s keep in touch and see how happy he is with his and how happy I am with mine and we’ll go from there.” He seems to be extremely happy with it. One thing that he has which Kinetico doesn’t is this little display that tells him how many gallons of reverse osmosis water he had left and also notifies him as to when he needs to put salt in there. Mine just tells me once it runs out, I change the filters. So, this seems a little old school to me.
As for the whole sales experience, the sales person was great. One thing that I felt a little uneasy about was I had received some solicitation in the past from home shows and maybe even something in the mail and something posted on the website that offered a discount. But when I inquired about the discount, they immediately dismissed it saying it was either I already applied to the proposal they gave me or was not valid and there wasn’t any disclaimers or anything on the discounts I received. So, it seemed very grey.

Since having the products from Kinetico installed, we have a good quality drinkable water and we feel a difference in our hair when we get a shower, wash dishes or glasses, and we have the option to cook our vegetables with good quality water.
Kinetico's products are not cheap but they're a good product. I was surprised when we had the appointment after everything was installed and the sales person told us that we do not have cold water in the kitchen sink through the system. And he gave us an explanation how the systems were installed so that nobody can really bypass the flow of the water coming into the house or to the kitchen. I had a softener where I lived before. I lived only 27 miles from where I live now in Florence, Arizona, and the water there is extremely hard. So, when I moved here to Casa Grande, I just assumed. I bought a new townhouse and I paid the extra 500 for them to put in the softener loop in my house so I can get a softener system. I was looking up softener systems and everybody was telling me about Kinetico. I bought the whole softener system from them and it does my whole unit.
Setting up the appointment was good. They told me they were gonna be out here on Thursday at 2, and they were here on Thursday at 2. They explained in great detail about the system and the different options, and that was good. My husband wasn’t home at the time and they wanted his driver’s license for the financing. So, I e-mailed them and for whatever reason, somebody forwarded us off to Mountain America, the financing people, but nobody at the Kinetico office got that information.
I like Kinetico's product. The only thing is there seemed to be a lot of confusion. I had first financed it and I paid that loan off. But, they kept wanting papers. I had the financing through Mountain America and they were good, too. I had a hard time paying them off but somebody got that organized. I didn’t know that they do share branching and that I could go to a credit union here and pay them off. I tried to pay off the financing online and it doesn’t do that. I owe them close to five grand and it wouldn’t take that amount of money. So, finally, when I went through and got customer service, and they told me where I could go to write a check. Other than the paperwork, the product itself is great. I don’t regret to have and got it.
Since I got the system, when I'm taking a shower, it feels like I’ve already put a body wash. My skin feels really slippery. The water is so soft. It already feels like there’s soap when I haven’t used soap. There is a difference. It’s a very good system. One of my neighbors in one of the older units got a softening loop, but they didn’t put an outlet by the softening loop, and at this time, nobody could put a softener in because there was no electricity there. But, I like that Kinetico doesn’t need that. I don’t use that outlet.

However, the guy that did it took my old system out but he left a mess with screws, bolts and washers everywhere. He didn’t care and he didn't clean up after himself. The mess was in my driveway and garage too. I swept it up because I didn’t wanna get a flat tire. But now our water is a lot better and softer.

We bought this house a couple of years ago and it had a water system in it, but it wasn’t working. Having a water system was one of the things that we've been wanting to do. I wanted a better unit that didn’t take a lot of water and doesn’t take a lot of salt. We did some research on Kinetico and I bought the water softener and an RO system from them. I liked that their system didn’t have the timer and all the electric stuff on it.
The appointment with the people at Kinetico went very well. When the sales guy came out, he did a water test on the hardness of the water and then compared it to their drinking water. And then after the installation of their system, which went very well too, he came back two weeks later and retested the water. He made sure everything was working good. I was impressed with the whole process. It was quick as soon as he came out and did the demonstration, and we liked that. He scheduled for service which was supposed to be on a Friday but I told him that I work on Fridays, but Saturdays would work better for me. He then said that they'd have to see what they could do. They ended up making a Saturday appointment for me so I didn’t have to take time off of work for the installation. The technician that came out was great and he explained everything.
When we did our follow-up with the salesman, he re-explained everything. He came out and made sure the install was done properly and up to their standards. Since the purchase from Kinetico, the water feels a lot better and we can use less soap. We got rid of the water machine that we had, so we’re saving money with Kinetico's system. Also, we can drink water right out of the tap now. We have a little thing on the sink and they ran it to where it goes to the refrigerator, so we have good water in the refrigerator as well. If the power goes out, I have to worry about resetting the system since it winds off the water pressure. I put salt in it every couple of months and I'm good to go. Kinetico is great and their staff are very knowledgeable and we’ve talked to other people about them already. We’ve had three different water systems at three different houses and the Kinetico water system has been the best experience that we’ve had.

Our neighbor had Kinetico's water softening system put in and she said she was really happy with it. That interested us and we decided to try it. We got filters under our sink, a little deal to get water and another this deal out in our garage. Their team member came and tested our water. The installation people came and they were very nice. Also, when we asked questions, they were able to answer. A month after installation, another guy came and we checked everything to make sure it was all circulating. Since having the system, everything has been good. My body and my head aren't itching that much anymore. Also, I had to put a bypass filter in the fridge so that the water from the Kinetico system would go through and our ice is now almost clear. It's a very good system.

I had a water softener system installed in my home. One of the techs drilled a hole in my drywall and my dryer vent pipe, which could’ve lead to mold and other issues. I contacted Bob ** operations manager for resolution, we had scheduled at least 4 appointments for him to come out and check the issue. He was either late or a no show to the appointment, causing me a loss of income because as a business owner if I’m not providing the service I do not make any money. A repair guy was finally scheduled to come and again 3 days here with a loss of income because of the approval process he had to go through.
I’ve been contacting the company and seeking compensation comparable to the loss of income I incurred and no resolve. This whole process has been over a month and a half and had I known this was going to be the case I would’ve had this system removed from my home because it is not worth my time to deal with their incompetence.

I purchased the whole-home system and the reverse osmosis system from them and the gentleman that installed the system was fantastic. I called the person that handled our area and talked with him for a little bit. I set a few appointments with him and it was easy. He came out, did those little test and we talked about it. He's really cool, entertaining and confident with his product. We purchased a softener from them that got two little tanks, and it was expensive. Then they had somebody else come out to install it, and they were very good and polite. Since we got our system, there was a huge difference in our water. All the dishes coming out are spot-free. On Saturday, I ended up having to call an outside plumber to bypass the entire system. On Monday, I called Culligan and told them to come and replace everything. Having a water softener helps with not having hard water spots and mineral deposits building up on piping and fixtures, so that led me into researching water softeners and filtration systems. I was referred by a family member that owned Kinetico Water Softener. They still buy it and they said it was great, so I went with Kinetico. I purchased a product from them about six years ago and my experience with the Kinetico team has been really good so far. I have had them come out only once since installing and they seemed to be super good to work with when they installed it. I believe that I get what I pay for with Kinetico and that they are reliable. From our previous experience with some other house that we've had in another different softener, it didn't go through nearly as much salt and it makes sense not to have to keep replenishing that salt if it's not needed, so it was nice to know that it was very efficient that way.

Our first house that we ever bought had a Kinetico reverse osmosis unit in it and we rented it from them then. Then when we bought another home and we had a Kinetico unit put in, they were very helpful and professional. We have a Kinetico water softener and a reverse osmosis unit. I’ve always had soft water and it really saves. I like KInetico because they’re here and I can get help. When I go into the store, the reps show me their new products and how it works and what not to do. Also, I can buy the maintenance and it pays for the service calls when they have to come out and do anything. Once a year, I usually have to have that reverse osmosis filter changed. It’s about $100 so it’s not anything big, and it is just normal wear.
I’ve got the Kinetico system hooked up to my refrigerator and it makes ice, and I love the taste of the ice a whole lot better than it used to be. Also, I use the water that goes through the refrigerator. It’s cold and it tastes good. I definitely see a change in water quality that way. And with the water softener, I use less soap. The water is easier on my clothes and hair and it’s better for my skin. I was raised on a farm where we had nothing but hard well water and I thought well water was wonderful. But now that I’m on city water, I've got reverse osmosis filtered water to drink and I’m well pleased. I was married for 38 years and we had a unit all that time. We had really hard water. When I saw that Kinetico was doing free water test down at the local Home Depot, I took some of our water and had it tested and the hard water was atrocious. We were off the charts. So I went ahead and got their water softener and they came out and put it in. That was six years ago and the results were instantaneous. All the scale, the cloudiness of the glasses and everything went away. Before, every three days we had to put a cleaning solution in the dishwasher to get all calcium buildup. We haven't done that since we had the system.
We also had an RO system put in and I love it as well. We use it for drinking, to make coffee and to make ice. And the ice comes out crystal clear. We don't cook with it because I figured the other system is good enough for that. The filter that we have in there is a 500-gallon filter and it would take us a year and a half to use it up. I go down to the store to buy the filters and the owner's son winds me up. He knows what we have. With my previous water filtration system in California, my stainless sink in the kitchen was discolored. So when I bought another house in Northern California, I switched to Kinetico. The brand doesn’t use electricity and I never had a problem with hard water marks on the shower. Also my family is very sensitive to the taste of water and it has a very good tasting water result. The company also religiously look at my records and they have a marker there as to what date they may be calling for my filter change, and they even send the mailer. So I’m very happy with their service.
So before I moved to Arizona, the Kinetico sales office was one of the things I looked for. I called their office and make sure I was on top of the line and I wanted them right away. I told them what I have and asked them if it would be the same equipment I would be using, which they confirmed. So I’m still with Kinetico and I currently live in the desert. It’s hard water here and I have to make sure that I have water that doesn’t have any taste.
The installation was smooth. They were there when they said they would be coming and when they left, everything was in orderly fashion. So, it was really painless for the homeowner. Also, the person knows what he's doing and makes sure he doesn’t leave with any leaks or whatsoever. So whether I was in California or in Arizona, their service is consistent.
In Northern California, they have a different line for soft water and there is no connection if you have to put a reverse osmosis. But here in Arizona, the Kinetico person told me that the water in the icemaker and the new spout for the drinking water was salted. He connected it and now the entire house softener is one with the reverse osmosis, which is great. Also, the manager who I spoke to was fantastic. Kinetico has a great system and it cannot be compared because the other companies, once they've installed something, it's your responsibility to call them just in case there's a problem. If somebody asks me what will be a good system, Kinetico is the only one I'll recommend.

We decided to put the Premier home system unit in because the hard water was starting to build up on our floors and on places where the water would pool. We had the same salesperson for both products. He was very good and informative. When I called, he had always gotten back, answering the questions that I had. He was always there and he wasn’t high pressure at all. He just came out, presented the product, and then let us make the decision.
There were two different installers, and they were very professional. They had gotten the installation done really quickly. The RO system installers were nice, friendly and did what they needed to do professionally. Plus, they rerouted the stuff that we wanted to have for the RO system. They ran the line into the refrigerator which has water and ice. Then we also rerouted on the home system. With the Sears unit, several times when it discharged, it broke the line and I would have runoff off the roof. They suggested we reroute it to where the washing machine dispenses the gray water rather than on the roof. The RO system has worked well. He had to wait for a certain part to get shipped in and he had to come back about two more times. Also, something popped off where the system was hooked up and flooded our kitchen but my husband fixed that.
Then two days later, I heard something fall and I looked under and water was coming out again. It was the tube that goes to the sprayer of the sink. They cut that off to install the water filter and something that had just been plugged into that pipe fell out. At that point, I called them back. In a week, we had two problems with the system and one was really bad. A guy named Tim came out and fixed it, and he was pretty good about wanting to make it right in a couple of days. But the original installation was pretty wonky. Whatever was plugged into that thing, shouldn't have been. Tim said that he was surprised it even held as long as it did. Our drinking water was foggy and tasted terrible. The water was coming to a filtered system within our refrigerator, but I couldn’t believe I was seeing particles in the water and it was not acceptable. I was concerned about what the people in the house were taking in. My son heard good things about Kinetico Water Systems and suggested that I give them a call.
It was very simple to set up an appointment with them. It was set around my schedule and it couldn’t have been more convenient or more pleasant type of situation since I have relocated here from California to Idaho. And unlike other businesses or contractors that are not showing up after making appointments, someone from Kinetico showed up on time. They also called ahead of time to make sure that I was aware of the appointment and they confirmed again what time they would be showing up.
The guy who I dealt with was very personable, professional in appearance, and knowledgeable. He told me how they could help me. He went throughout my home and tested all of the various systems. He also explained what he was testing for and what he was looking for, and explained the results of the test as well. I was very pleased with how thorough he appeared to be. I bought the reverse osmosis system and now, I don’t see any foreign objects moving around my water. My grandchildren came over and told me how good the water tastes and I don’t have to buy bottled water anymore which is nice for me. I’m very pleased Kinetico's product and the service that I’ve gotten from them. They also called to check back up just to make sure that I’m happy with the system. I’d highly recommend Kinetico.

We have very hard water in our area so we decided to look into water softeners. My husband has six different sets of aunts and uncles in our area. They've all been through different water systems and everybody seemed to like Kinetico so based on everybody's opinion, we went with Kinetico. We got Kinetico's water softener and the reverse osmosis system. The nearest town to us that has Kinetico is Twin Falls which is about 60 miles away or so. I called them straight up, asked if they could come out and do a water test and then talk me through a water system. I had a great interaction with the people who did the water test. They were quick and precise and they came out right away. I knew I have hard water but I was just curious if there's any other leakage to some chemical or if there are too many heavy metals.
The installation took longer than what I expected as I live in an older home that was originally a homestead back in the day. They had to do a little extra work to it versus a newer home but they did great. They told me upfront that it was gonna take just a little bit longer. It was just an extra day since they have to get some extra parts. Other than that, it was fine. Nothing that alarmed me about any issues and I thought they were great people.
My husband has been apologizing to me for years and telling me we should have gotten the water system sooner. He said that the taste of the reverse osmosis water is phenomenal compared to what we were drinking beforehand. I am all thumbs up for Kinetico based on such a black and white difference that it did to my house. My husband could tell the difference too when he bathes and soaps up. He was a burn victim so he has lots of burn scars on his body. His scars, in general, have softened and he does not have to attend to them as much as in lotioning and oiling himself. My husband loves it so we love it too for his bathing.

Just purchased Kinetico system 1 week ago. It started regenerating last night and would not stop. I had no idea how long this was supposed to go on. I started to get concerned after 2 1/2 hours. Cannot get anyone to assist. No help line. Finally was told to shut the system off and go back to hard water. Have to wait until Monday for assistance. Now I’m worried about all the water that went into my septic. Plus I paid $3500.00 for a system that is not working after 1 week. Now I’m expected to call off work waiting for someone to look at the brand new system.? I went for over 20 years with no system. I’m really disappointed.

We have had this system for probably eight to 10 years... It has been a constant source of problems. Combine that, with the service provided by the local company that we are apparently forced to use, and I would rate the product and service a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. To get service, you have to wait weeks. Then when you do finally have someone show up, it's after 5:00 at night and they can be in your home for 2 to 3 hours. This is one investment that I REALLY wished we would have passed on. Recommendation...check with Culligan!!!

Where I live the water is extremely hard. My hair was falling out, so I explored different water softening systems and filtration systems. And then when they tested my water I had 22 grains of aragonite. Compared to the other people I’ve had in for quote and just consultation the Kinetico representative and the group itself have one the best reputations in the area. And I felt that the name versus what I was gonna be paying for such a quality system was worth it.
The sales rep was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, very informative and was excellent at explaining everything. He did a couple of different demonstrations right there with my water to show me what it was I’m not necessarily seeing, such as the fact that my clothes weren’t washing that well, and why I was replacing my dishwasher that had fallen apart because of the hard water.
I agreed to let an installer come that had not done one by himself yet. He was relatively new with the company but had been training for quite some time. And it gave me the opportunity to actually learn a little bit more because he had to call and ask questions occasionally which he would show me what he was confused with. But overall, they did a great job because when he was having issues they came and helped him. The system was fixed on the same day. Originally, their target was approximately five hours but it took them a little bit longer. But they made sure it was buckled and buttoned up, and they were gone before five in the afternoon.
I have the RO system installed with it, so I had much better drinking water. It also made a difference with my refrigerator, my new dishwasher, my hair rinsing, so shampoo and conditioner was rinsing out. I wasn’t having a dry scaly skin and my clothes definitely feel cleaner and don’t seem much stiff. Despite it sounding to be a little bit pricier compared to some of the other competitors in the area I would highly recommend for anybody to at least give Kinetico the opportunity to come and explain their products and systems in your home. So I’m just really happy with them.

Am concerned I made a wrong decision to switch. My water seems fine to wash in and drink so that is a plus but not much different than before the installation. We got a water softener and filtration system from Kinetico Water Systems. Setting up our appointment with their reps was easy. They came out, tested our water, looked at what we had, and told us what systems would work better for us. The test results showed that our water had high iron and no nitrates, and the rep was shocked with that. It was a little on the hard side. Then we picked the system that would work best for us.
Now that our system has been installed, our water is really nice and I don't mind drinking it now, and I also don't itch anymore. In addition, we've put new sinks in and the water is not leaving any stain in the sinks anymore. To maintain our system, we just have to add salt and change the filter every three months. I move around a lot and have purchased 3 systems from Kinetico. I was a big fan of the brand and quality of the water. I have never had a problem with a system in the past and would swear by their product. Unfortunately, I can no longer sing their praises. While on vacation a part failed and flooded our downtown condo. When we got home we called the local installer who came out and fixed the unit. Our floors and base trim were ruined. We filed a claim and they sent it off to Kinetico. After several months of not hearing anything I began to send email after email all with no response. I finally used LinkedIn to get the names of senior management and copied as many as possible on my emails.
I got a response the next day from a mediator telling me that he was trying to settle our dispute and that I had rejected the company's offer of $10,000.00. I explained that I had never received any offer and that he was in fact the first contact I have had with anyone. He was surprised by this, but then offered me $10,000.00 stating that it was as high as they were going to go. In my claim I had attached two different companies flooring quotes and both came in at over $13,000.00 and this didn’t include baseboards, mold mitigation and a bunch of other items. I explained that I didn’t want any extra money and that they could just pay exactly what contractors charged, and that I just wanted my house back to normal. I rejected the their offer.
They then "sent the part back to engineering for further review". They determined that I possibly broke the part because there is no way it waited two years to fail if it was defective. They since have denied entire claim. I am left with costly lawsuit option where I can’t recover legal fees even when I win due to the way the laws are, or have my own insurance fix up my place and hopefully recapture some of the money through litigation with them. Please find the attached denial letter. I am certain that nothing dropped on system, there is not enough clearance for something to drop or hit the top of this casing and it would show some kind of damage or mark should that have been the scenario. From the image one can also see that the system cannot fall over because it is nestled comfortably between cabinet wall and sink piping.
I have been a customer three separate times, in three separate states, I have spent thousands of dollars with them, I have given referral after referral and they could not have cared less about me as a customer. No one spoke to me from the company, nobody even offered a "no-fault" apology that this happened. The quality of the water is great, but if anything goes wrong you are on your own. We had hard water so we ended up getting one of Kinetico's water systems for the entire house. We already had one before, also a Kinetico, and it was so old. We have been using them since the house was built, which was 1992. We just replaced it, got a brand new Kinetico system and it's been a year now. I did almost everything via email because that was what I prefer and it went awesome. Their reps were very responsive and we had worked with them for all of our needs. They did a free water test when they put the system in. And every time they come back and service it, they check the water. We are on a once a year maintenance so they come yearly unless something goes wrong and I have to call them. They do all that stuff and we have a great experience with them. Before, we couldn't use the water at all but it's good now. Kinetico is a nice system and it works great for our needs.

Our water is crappy that does damage to washers, to water heater and everything else. I had my own filter system for a couple years, that I found wasn't working. Then I went to Culligan and I had a run-in with one of their employees. I had two tanks in my closet, the filter system and the water heater. I was looking for something that wasn't going to take up so much space. I heard about Kinetico so I went with them. The unit is smaller, about 4 or 5-foot tall that filters out the water and does what it's supposed to do. The installation went fine. Their reps had only been to the house once or twice. They plugged the unit in and had to make some adjustments to it. And it's been that way ever since. It's running on its own. So far, everything's fine.

So, after many service calls and filter (nickel and dime you) I get, "Your water system is out of warranty and you need a new this and that and it will cost you $450.00 dollars." I have spent over 5k just getting the system and another 1k in friking parts. BAD PRODUCT to which I explain to the customer service person in SEVERN, MD 21144 that this is ridiculous. The guy came, tested the water and showed us some of their different water systems. Since I've heard good things about Kinetico, we made the decision to go with them and get the water softener that has two of the taller tanks. Their installer showed up on time and was pretty good. The water softener works great and has made a difference in our water. My aunt has one as well and she loves hers. We had the water tested before from a different local competitor and they said the water wasn't hard but for some reason, we were getting rust stains in the washing machine soap dispenser and in the shower. And so, we needed to get rid of that orange water. We got the water softener and the reverse osmosis water treatment from Kinetico and it was installed in one day. My husband was here and everything went smoothly. We were going to change the filters ourselves but my husband wanted to observe first so we had the reps come out a couple of times and they were very polite and efficient.
The drinking water has been commended on by family that came over. They noticed there was no cloudiness in the ice cubes anymore and they liked the drinking water better. Perhaps some minerals were flavoring the well water in certain ways that I got used to so when they removed it, it took me a little bit before I liked the water as much as they did. But I love the ice cubes and the fact that there's no more rust so we've been very happy. It’s a fairly new system for us and so far, we haven’t had any issues. This is a very expensive system but when I researched them, it's supposed to last for years without issues. And if you have problems that you want fixed and you have the money, this is the one to go with.

I had been renting a water softener from a local supplier and wasn't completely satisfied with it and I started researching it. I talked to a sales rep from Kinetico and everything went well except my understanding was I was getting a bigger unit than what they presented me with. I told them what I was looking for and what I wanted. Plus, I gave my referral from a friend of ours that added the system in. So, I was under the assumption I was getting the same system. When they came out and delivered it, it was a smaller unit and cost a lot more than what my friends paid. But they had their unit for six years and I went and thought that the price wouldn't go up that much.
I purchased the water softener system, inline water pre-filter and I’m renting the osmosis. Since then, everything seems to be working well and when we put the pre-filter in, it took a lot of the sediment out and that helped greatly. They told me the unit they put in was more than adequate for our need. It cycles a little bit more than what they were representing but that isn't a big deal. It doesn't make really that much noise unless you're in the same room that it is. Their people were courteous but when they came out to install, they had a trainee doing the installation. He messed up and forgot to connect a drain line. Luckily, I called them before they left the yard. Also, they had to put an additional faucet on the sink for the osmosis and within two weeks, that faucet fell apart. It wasn't installed properly and I wound up having to get underneath there and reinstall it. So, that wasn't a happy experience.
I'm overall satisfied with the equipment but not with the representation of it and the installation. You should make sure to understand exactly the unit you're getting and there are no surprises when they deliver it. You should understand the size and the capacity of it. If you don't think you're receiving what you paid for, it's gonna leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Jim,

Setting up an appointment with their reps was good and they were right on time when they said they would be there. But the guy said that he would come back within a month and a half to recheck my water and I never got that follow-up visit.
The installers were pretty prompt as well. They ran my hoses to the refrigerator and to the sink up at the top. Everything went smooth. So far, I have Kinetico for eight months. I've replaced the filters, did the resin treatment, and added the salt. Since I got Kinetico, the water is much pure especially with that reverse osmosis. I’ve seen the old water tank around and I went online, did a little research work and looked up Kinetico. Then the people we bought the house from built a new home down the Lakeway and he was perfectly satisfied with Kinetico so I called the company up and told them I want that system.
I bought it off their rep and he came to the house and went through the water testing. Then, he gave us recommendations on what we should buy. It was more money than I’d thought I’d spend but I did it and we’re not sorry. I got a softener, a salt tank, two big other things and an RO system from them. We live where Owen’s Water is and drive by it all the time. They put it in the $3200 Kinetico system which takes the hard water and converts it to where it doesn’t ruin your faucets, but I still drink bottled water. I stopped down there and said I didn’t want to afford it and somebody came from their office. It’s like a $40 fee and I said, "No. That’s all right." The system's all right but you gotta change the filters every so often and they’re $21.
The guy who tested it out when he was selling the different models that they put in and he said, “Well, you can drink it" but he said he didn’t recommend. If you compare it with bottled water the bottled water was pretty good. It’s just the inexpensive bottle water. It still passes that little test with his little kit that you test the house water with to compare the tap water with the bottled water. So, that’s what we drink anyways. You can buy their system if you wanna try to purify the water and drink it out of your tap. You’re just spending a lot more money.
Also, the guy that installed the system didn’t do a great job. I told him to put it here and he puts it in a different place, and then he had trouble drilling the drain line. It’s a clear plastic tube but basically like a hose and he had trouble trying to find a way to get it to go through the ceiling, and he was trying to drill a hole and he couldn’t get through with the drill and I was like, “That won’t ruin my house but…” And then he ended up not even using the drill hole, just going up through the ceiling across the hallway trying to put that stuff together. Wasn’t a real professional.

I also wanted soft water in my shower and Kinetico Water Systems was the only water softener group in the Clare County area, so I got a water softener and a reverse osmosis from them. The sales representative was fabulous. He did a great job of explaining the products and everything else. And the installation team also did a good job. I took advantage of Kinetico’s free water test and the result was not at all what I was expecting.
Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my needs after having it for a while. They put the smaller piping to it which they thought would be sufficient. After putting in the unit, it was found out to be that it was probably mis-scoped. The product wasn’t what I was expecting for a water flow. They had to come back in and put in the larger piping to it so that I could get the water flow that I had previous to putting the water system in. It was difficult for me because I got work on the road and it was difficult for me to take time off. Nonetheless, there have been differences in my water. Soft water is not corrosive to my fixtures and soft water in the shower is the better shower experience. Also, with reverse osmosis, the water tastes different.

The quality of my Premier S150 softener and and K-5 RO equipment is very good and it should be for the nearly $4700 initial cost. My biggest grip is that the maintenance costs are too high! In my four years of ownership I have spent nearly $1000 on filter cartridges, salt, resin cleaner and service visits to sanitize my drinking water system. I'm a do-it-yourself sort of guy and when I asked my distributor about getting a sanitizing kit so I could do it myself, I was told that they didn't know anything about it and that they recommended I have their service people do it any way. I don't mind paying for high quality equipment but I don't like having to pay so much to maintain the systems. as an example, the Duracube salt I buy from Kinetico is nearly double the cost of other brands. Is it really that much better? If I had to do it over again, I would probably explore other options.

He was an older gentleman named Rich and he was just in the area and he stopped in. He tested my water and spoke to me about the product. He was a nice guy but at that time, I wasn’t in the financial state to be able to purchase a water softener. After that, I still ended up buying a water softener from them. They sent a young man out by himself to install it and he explained to me how long it would take. He got it done in a timely manner and was clear on his instructions on what had to be done. I was happy with the installation.
Everybody at Kinetico was quite cooperative with me. But it would be a big thing if after about a month of purchasing from Kinetico, somebody would call and make sure everything was working correctly. Also, while in the middle of purchasing, the salesperson told me that the water softener wouldn’t necessarily take care of the foul smell of my water. So, it just took care of the hardness in the water. And as far as the stain is concerned, that seems to be a little bit better though I can’t really tell the difference if the product is working or not.
