I ordered a color of roofing shingles. They do not have in stock (green). I was told they would be in the following week. A month later the shingles are still not in. I asked them if they would fill the order with a color they do have in stock so that I can get my roof finished and they told me that they'd "have" to charge me a 15% restocking fee if I don't keep waiting on the month late order. I guess not living up to their end of the deal wasn't bad enough, they feel like they need to charge me extra for doing nothing.

My roof still isn't done after five months, two calls to their Customer Care, one e-mail to their corporate office and one complaint to the BBB. Home Depot promises peace of mind, installers with the highest standards for experience, total project management and complete and proper installation. I received none of those things. The inept crew that was sent to my home didn't measure, couldn't cut in a straight line or butt together two pieces of drip edge. The overhangs were excessive and uneven. When I told the supervisor that the starter strip overhung one inch and the first course overhung by two inches. He replied "You measured". When I showed him the ragged uneven overhangs on both rakes. He replied "It's hard to see a straight line when you are up on the roof".
After several attempts at rework the roof still didn't look right and their Field Installation Manager comes out. He looks at it and tells me that the installers didn't use a starter strip on three sides of my house. The installers come back and slide a three inch strip of roofing material under the shingles with no sealant or nails and tried to pass that off as done. The next attempt, a starter strip was used, but no nails. The installers did come back to put some nails in, but I don't think they went by the pattern in the instructions. Save yourself a lot of money and headache and don't go with Home Depot.

My sales and purchasing experience was pleasant. Salesperson was always punctual and clear during home visits. The installation started on time. As soon as the installation started, I began noticing problems and I started communicating via email to Home Depot's project manager and salesperson about installation deficiencies. I also included detailed photos that indisputably illustrate the deficiencies. Luckily I am comfortable getting on tall and steep roofs so I am able to verify and document details of the installation assembly.
Now I believe that Home Depot counts on customers not being able to do this by themselves which allows HD to get away with such poor installations. Nearly all of my emails outlining installation deficiencies after I signed contract have gone ignored. Home Depot's project manager acknowledged receiving my emails when we spoke on the phone, but they are very careful about not generating a written record and they do not respond via email. I signed contract in June-2018. New shingles were installed in August-2018.
Now in October-2018 these are the remaining installation deficiencies: Missing and broken drip edges or drip edges nailed into rotted decking that was supposed to be replaced. Roof deck not repaired per contract - instead of replacing rotted decking, they installed metal flashing over rot and then shingles over that. There are missing shingle starter strips. Garage leaked heavily which was repaired with my old shingles and left that way (ie they ran out of shingles that I purchased). There are missing ridge vents. Shingles not nailed on nailing line with nails not fully embedded. There are humps in new shingles because shingles were not lapped correctly, old nails were not removed or pounded down entirely and rotted roof decking was not repaired with new plywood.
After I expressed much concern prior to shingle installation, they installed new shingles on a flat roof with a 1:12 pitch. Shingle manufacturer, GAF strictly says that the minimum roof pitch for shingles that I purchased is 2:12. So the shingles (but mostly the deck) on flat roof are guaranteed to fail. I also purchased new gutters from Home Depot under a separate contract. Now that Home Depot is delaying completing and curing the roof installation deficiencies, this is delaying new gutters. My house has been without rain gutters since the new shingles were installed and now when it rains, water is pooling next to and penetrating basement walls. Large part of my house is over 100 years old and the old stacked stone foundation walls are taking on excess water.
I have been very stressed as a result of this experience with Home Depot. Interestingly, I chose Home Depot for this project based on my perception of their reputation. Home Depot was one of the more pricey bids that I obtained, but I thought that I was getting a installation with great workmanship. I actually received the opposite. I do not recommend using Home Depot. They only act as a middleman and that they sold my signed contract to another subcontractor. They exert no control over their subcontractor, they do not verify installation quality and they do not have the customer's best interest in mind.
I am no longer actively attempting to get help from Home Depot because they keep giving me a run-around and fail to show when they say they will. I have zero confidence in Home Depot and Home Depot's installers whom are just the cheapest option Home Depot selected on my behalf. I am in the process of seeking legal counsel to resolve this issue.

I contacted Home Depot via the Internet to arrange an inspection and estimate for a new roof. I was given an appointment time and day which was about 3 days from the notice. I had 2 separate confirmation messages by text, which I responded to and confirmed that I would be there for the scheduled appointment. The day before the scheduled appointment I was contacted again to remind me of the appointment. I had cancelled 2 different business meetings that I had cancelled to meet with the roofing contractor. I arrived about 10 minutes early, about 10 minutes after our appointed meeting time I got a call from the contractor telling me that he would not be there and could meet me later in the day as he had not been contacted by Home Depot earlier. Well BS. I wasted most of the day to meet with this guy. DO NOT SCHEDULE home repairs with HOME DEPOT!!! I have since heard from others that have experienced the same problem.

Took 5 months to do my roof. Did not come out to tarp damage until too late. Now have interior water damage about $60,000.00 and will have to leave my home for two weeks. They did my roof the other day and I had it inspected. Lots of trash left, nails, etc. Left twenty nail hole on one side and put caulking on them. Very poor workmanship. Would not recommend. Whole roof needs to be redone by someone qualified. There is more to the story but would write a book on how bad Peak installation is, might need a lawyer to get involved.

The Home Depot, Home Services Exteriors 1500 CATON CENTER DRIVE SUITE N, HALETHORPE, MD, USA 21227. 1-855-726-4612. Business Points Of Contact: 1. SALES CONSULTANT. 2. INSTALLATION MANAGER. 3. BRANCH OFFICE MANAGER. 4. BRANCH MANAGER. 5. Customer Service. The Complainant would like the Business to stop lying to customers and stop advertising in this area for the services that they cannot provide. On April 10th I contracted with the business to do a roof replacement on my home due to wind damage. The initial timeline expectations from Mr. ** was in a few weeks to a month due to the high volume of work in the area.
On the 25th of April I met with Mr. ** at my house to adjust the contract due to material estimate shortage. Mr. ** said everything was on track and should be scheduled in the next week or so. He pointed out that I needed a tarp installed as a temporary repair to prevent interior damage due to missing shingles. NOTE #1 This was the first Lie. I learned in May from Mr. ** that the only licensed contractor that Home Depot had in this area of West Virginia had been terminated on April 20th due to poor performance. All sales consultants were informed immediately so this means that Mr. ** knew about this at our April 25th meeting for contract adjustment. He knew there were problems but chose to misinform me about the business’s decreased capabilities to keep my deposit money (make the sale).
After contacting Home Depot several times over the next few weeks, I was finally able to get the tarp installed to protect my damaged roof that is now under contract with the HD. I was also in contact with Mr. ** and was informed that there was a problem getting the contractors the proper numbers for the state of WV and these were needed for the building permits that were needed for my job. We had a lengthy discussion about how much more difficult it was to get permits in WV than in surrounding areas like MD and VA.
NOTE #2 This was the second LIE. I contacted the Permitting Department for Jefferson County WV and found out that no building permit was needed for a roof replacement. Mr. ** was using this excuse to cover the fact that the business had no contractors in this area to perform the contracted work and was lying to stall the work progress and keep my deposit. At this point, I contacted BRANCH OFFICE MANAGER, and BRANCH MANAGER. This was done through contacting customer service several times and voicing my displeasure with being lied too by the Sales Consultant and the Installation Manager. Mr. ** explained everything that was going on and understood that I did not want to be dealing with the people that have been lying to me. On Jul 25th I contacted Mr. ** after he left a voice mail message for me. He informed me that I should be hearing from scheduling in the next couple of days.
I did not hear from scheduling and tried to reach out to people on Monday. Mr. ** seemed upset that I am demanding answers as to why no one contacted me and whether or not his business can provide the contracted service. So now, after waiting nearly three months, the contract has been canceled due to lack of contractors and I have to try to get my 5K deposit back from the HD credit card myself.

I want to start by saying that when we started out looking for the roof repair in December 2017, we were expecting a delay. Florida just got hit by Hurricane Irma a few months ago, and so if we were told it could take 7 months to have the roof repaired, we would have been okay with it. It wouldn't have been ideal, but it would have been expected. Instead, we were told it would be 2 months or so, and it ended up being 7, and along the way, we rarely got updates even when we asked for them repeatedly. Plus we got a nice requote of another $3,000 or so along the way.
December 30th- Luis from Home Depot came into the house and did a quick inspection of the roof, inside and out, and showed me the samples that our association would approve. Stated he had done previous projects in the same association already. I signed the contract. I asked when work would start and how long it would take and was told it would start late January/early February and would take 2-3 weeks once started.
March- Received word that the start date would be March 14th, and parts would arrive the week prior. Parts did arrive on time, and workers showed up on March 14th but said the wrong parts were ordered. At this point, we went between 3 and 4 weeks. WEEKS, with no response from Home Depot. No replies to texts, no replies to emails, no answer when we called. 2 separate times I filled out the contact form twice on Home Depot’s website. Both times, I received a call from Home Depot letting me know the project managers would call me back. They did NOT.
After nearly a month, literally like 3 days shy of an entire month, Luis, Cesar, and Kathy showed up and did what should have been done already on December 30th. June- Work on the roof started for the first time. July- The ladder is still there and of course nobody has updated us on the inspection or anything but I guess since nobody has come by for a while that it’s done (?). Who knows right? We’ll never get an update, especially now. Entire project took about 200 days. That is NOT an exaggeration. The last update we received about an inspection being the only thing left to do was day 194. Then a week later when I texted all 3 people, I got a reply from just Cesar saying that the inspection was still needed, pushing the total time (including the inspection which I understand may be out of Home Depot’s control) to over 200 days.
The lack of updates continued throughout the entire project. There were 3 separate times in total that we received no updates, even when we asked for one, for at least 3 weeks. Workers would show up one day and then not come back for 2 days. When the project was done, we only knew because we called and asked over and over again. Right now there are several huge rolls in our drive way that we need to find a way to dispose of, a ton of gravel and nails all over the driveway, and a ladder that nobody has come to pick up. The roof itself looks fine but the level of unprofessionalism has been embarrassing.
I also referred a friend to have his roof done (this was early on before I realized how horrible these people were, and they not only accidentally sawed into his daughter's bedroom, but when they did, they offered to bring some paint over so that my friend could paint the room himself! What kind of audacity do you have to have to even say that!? Never working with Home Depot again.

We got an appointment schedule for measuring, material selection and price to replace roof in our 2500 sq ft home. A text message confirmation was send in 2 days prior. NO SHOW UP for appointment, I call to inquired an hour late into, appointment was in their system but not information why no showing. Customer service try to schedule one for another day. That was unacceptable on my part and they promise the supervisor was trying as we speak to locate a consultant in the area to come home that same afternoon (yeah right I believe her). If one was not available that same supervisor will call to let me know status. 3 days later and they may think I’m still expecting their call. No need to consider giving my business to a company who doesn’t respect costumers, I’m glad they miss our appointment after reading the reviews and nightmares people in here describe about their roof installation all over US.

In September 2017, my mother contracted Home Depot to replace the shingles on the roof of her home. Since the work was sub-standard, the shingles were replaced in October 2017. During a Winter thaw in January 2018, water cascaded through the interior of the house (from the second floor down to the garage). Home Depot was contacted and a "temporary fix" was completed with minimal lead-time. Since then, my mother and I have contacted the Home Depot liaison responsible for our file and after repeated conversations and excuses, the work still has not been completed. In the interim, both the roof and interior were inspected and the results depict extremely sub-standard work. Damages are in the $10,000 range. Since then, I have repeatedly contacted Home Depot Canada (even wrote a letter to the President).
They have matter-of-factly "washed" their hands of the matter and now the file is in the hands of an insurance adjuster. Nine months have passed and still no resolve. Since the Winter, I have been told by the Home Depot Canada Liaison Officer that the work would be completed once the snow and ice melt... and the weather becomes more "accommodating." Unfortunately, we are still waiting... and we are now in the month of July. I am at a loss to understand how a reputable company can hold a customer "hostage" pending legal proceedings between Home Depot and the hired sub-contractor. Home Depot's Value Wheel describes taking care of and respect for all people, doing the right thing and excellent customer service.
Based on our experience and lack of follow-up, it appears that we have not been taken care of or respected and Home Depot has not done the right thing or provided excellent customer service. They place emphasis on "process" as opposed to the customer. The entire experience has caused undue stress and all I am asking for is corrective action within reasonable lead-time. We have been very patient and have waited more than necessary.

In November 2017 we contracted with Home Depot home services to replace the roof on our vacation home in Nevada. As of today, June 30, 2018 we still do not have a completed roof. My husband has been on site for two weeks today and the crew has failed to show up again today. It has been one excuse after another for the last 7 months. We chose to go with Home Depot because we felt they were a reputable company that would not disappear overnight. Boy, was I wrong. If I ever get my new roof, I will never do business with this company again.

This happened last year, but I have to write about it. During the winter of 2016-17, I had a bad leak in the old roof and it wrecked my living room ceiling. Signed a contract beginning of May 2017 with Home Depot for a new roof for $41,000. Steep roof, many gables, etc. Selected shingles, gutters, etc. Was told the job wouldn't start until July 1. Two month wait. Well June 30 they call and say job had to be rescheduled for Sept 11th -- two more months. On Sept 11 they postponed to Sept 24th. On Sept 24 they postponed to October. In October they called and told me I was now "unscheduled." They couldn't find a roofer to do my roof. So in November they tell me they are not going to do the job at all. Along the way, the gutter company called and told me that they don't make the gutter I selected. I selected it from the Home Depot salesman's sample book and then I find out it doesn't exist!
They broke the contract. I, the consumer, would not be allowed to do that. It took months to get my $1000 deposit back. I moved money around for this $41K job. I wasted my summer waiting for the roof to be done. I just about went crazy making phone calls that were not returned or not answered at all. When they canceled in November, we were getting into our rainy season again (Northern California). I didn't want to call another roofer and have my roof opened up in November. So I went through another rainy season with a leak in the living room, and a trash can sitting in the middle of the living room for 6 more months. They sent me a $150 gift card. I wish I had read these reviews here a year ago. So, let me tell you now -- Do not sign anything with Home Depot Roofing.

I got a brand new Roof installed by Home Depot in Mar 2015. In Mar 2018, 7 Shingles flew away on one side of Roof. I asked Home Depot to check it out. They kept me waiting for weeks. Water entered the house in the meantime. I had to follow up every day for them to come and fix it. They sent a person finally after 3 weeks. He said Wind Damage, Act of God, blah blah blah. They are now asking me to contact my Insurance company to look at it. That means another month or so and letting water get into my house. When I said I already got it fixed to Home Depot. She was quick to react back and say "Ok, then warranty is void", as if they were helping me.
They tossed me from department to department and then back to my Insurance company. They could have just fixed the Roof when the Guy came to see it. Also, they sent a different company than the one who installed it. And the Guy was saying they didn't install it. Guys this is how they treat their customers and the warranty means a hassle for you not a "peace of mind". This is unfair business practice. I am never giving my business to Home Depot.

Sales guy was great, but in the area I live in same story of great sales talk, but can't deliver the vision of the sales guy. No fancy measurement person that was promised. Sales guy says I HAVE to put the whole price of the roof on the Depot card. Service center in Texas called me to set up a time to do the work. Day of service random four non English speaking guys in a creepy van are sitting outside my house, no one talks. I move my cars out of the way, they walk up to my wife when I'm moving the cars and talk to her... she's freaking out at this point. Another guy shows up. Both trucks have different company magnet signs on them, HD states it's a company within a company but can't tell me the company's name.
I come back after leaving the house for 30 mins. The roofers busted up pallets I had and used that instead of plywood to fix soft spots, but never said anything of what's going on, I found this out when they were done, by the remaining pieces. When I asked questions the crew leader said pallets are better than plywood, I demanded him to call HD, guy runs we away when he makes the phone call and I was chasing him to hear what he was saying, later I found out he wasn't calling anyone. So HD calls and wants payment, this is when I found out no contact from the crew leader was made confirmed by area rep.
So in a heated phone call they were pushing to have full payment, leaving me with a pallet roof, they have no information that the roofers did the soft spot repair. When I said no payments will be made they tried the schoolyard bully angle, but kept showing how uninformed and out of touch with the legal system they are. Threats towards me and demanding full payment. A second call was made hours later. Per HD executive directors board, if I don't say anything and agreed the roof is repaired ok and not with pallet wood they will generously cut $500 off the bill. My respond was scammers. The roof is unsafe and more than $500. They became very angry again. I said fix the roof or legal action is next and they denied the phone records they have.
Now I have 8 inches of heavy rain coming with 80 mph gusts and possible 6 inches of snow with a roof that is in bad shape and a dumpster in my small yard. They won't clear the dumpster company to pick up the dumpster, because they have no record of a dumpster. But in the same sentence the area rep says he sent to request to pick up the dumpster to the dumpster company who I had called and they have no notice to pick it up. The area rep is saying random names of who to talk to about the dumpster, I was talking with the dumpster company's owner and he has no employees by those names. I have a small yard and can't park on the street and the dumpster is blocked by cars now because I have nowhere to park and per HD I have to be available for when they are ready to do what they want.
Not returning phone calls from the HD area rep or national rep out of Texas, throughout the whole phone calling process the national rep only spoke up when I said I am not paying full price and when I called them scam artists, other than that no words were heard from that rep. The area rep was using the "sound helpful but screw the customer standard auto response answers" which I called them out on since corporations are using the same answers these days. Waiting to see how the storm goes and how the roof holds, and deal with a dumpster I'm my yard. I will update this if possible as the days go by. I have only a digital agreement no receipt, HD is a joke just as bad as the hack contractors.

I was suckered by a seemingly honest sales team. After waiting a couple weeks for an estimator to arrive at my house, some preliminary measurements were made. One month later (a few days promised) I was presented with a proposal that was competitive with other bids I had received, but Home Depot had a great sounding warranty. I was given a cell phone of the manager in case there were any problems. Then nothing. For 3 months.
Home Depot still needed to get on my roof for a final measurement before they could even order materials, and then schedule the job. I called the cell phone number and was promised an initial measurement several times but it never happened. Then they stopped answering their phone. I called a supervisor in Texas a couple times and was promised action which didn't happen. After 3 months, I hired a local company that professionally installed my roof in 6 weeks! I am still trying to contact Home Depot to ask about my $1000 deposit (for nothing) and still no one answers the phone!
A warranty is only good if someone answers the phone and acts on it. I have to believe that if I had a problem after installation (how ever long that would have taken) no one would have answered the phone to address it. My suggestion: find a local roofer with local recommendations. AVOID Home Depot ROOFING AT ALL COST!

They told me to sign and return paperwork giving them permission to be on my property, which I never did.
I contacted the other company my insurance company told me to contact and they were at my home within 48 hours. I had them come and do the repairs to my home for a cost of $165. Peak installations claimed to do over $600 of emergency repairs to my roof and provided an estimate for thousands of dollars. I never gave them permission to be on my property, never signed any documents at any time and now they pester me to pay the $600 they claim they incurred to fix my roof. Rep was a blowhard who just wanted to tell of past greatness in the bridge painting world plus further esoterica about materials the typical homeowner would have absolutely no clue about (I am a retired remodeler). I wanted to reroof before I sold my house. Rep said his computer wasn't working but he would email the estimate to me. It never came and when I called the company, they said he had flagged the estimate as a "repair", which they don't do. EVIDENCE: Fall of 2017, after inspection of my roof (which was in good shape), HD and I signed a contract to replace the roof for approximately $13,000. After installation, the amount charged my card was $18,000. There was an additional $1,300 expense but that does not add up to the amount charged. I never signed a contract with their installer; I signed the contract with HD. I don't even know if the installer is licensed. The installer stated the job was done and had me sign the release. No mention that the roof had NOT been inspected. Weeks later, I am still waiting for sign off on the inspection. EDDIE ** of HD stated that payment for the roof has nothing to do with the final inspection. Meaning, HD CAN DO SUBSTANDARD WORK, CAUSE EVEN MORE DAMAGE, AND GET PAID FOR IT -- THE HOMEOWNER IS STUCK. I call this type con FRAUD!!!
I walked into my garage on a bright day and saw daylight coming in at the seams of the roof. Eddie ** of HD tried to get me to believe the light was coming in through the new vents; yet the vents were nowhere near the light coming in through the seam between the house and garage. The previous roof was fine and no daylight was seen in that area for the last 30 years. I am a senior and cannot crawl into the attic, who knows how much light is coming into the attic. CLEARLY THE JOB WAS DONE INCORRECTLY. A ROOF SHOULD NOT HAVE LIGHT FILTERING THROUGH IT.
I called EDDIE ** about the condition of the roof, that the roof was not flat but wavy, after the shingles were nailed (how could this happen?). He stated all roofs are like that in the beginning, that the stickiness on the bottom of the shingle will flatten with heat. However, in LA it was about 90 degree for a week and the shingles did not flatten. I have a wavy roof. NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE, especially because the roof is to be nailed down to the thick plywood undercoat. After a windy day, I found lots of shingles in my back and front yard. Clearly the shingles came from my roof (oddity, the roofer immaculately cleaned up the job site) and were no left over from the job.
My advice is to never use Home Depot's roofing services. The job was shabbily done, even after complaint before completion, and I continue to see problems. Further, once HD determines the job is finished, despite no passing inspection, HD charges the credit card. Fraud and financial abuse -- since I am elderly, the issue is financial abuse of the elderly. Clearly, the job was done poorly and HD charge my credit card. This is unacceptable. I am going to file a fraud complaint against Home Depot with the police and I believe an elder abuse complaint was filed with California's Adult Protective Services.

It took almost 8 weeks to complete the job, the third and final crew finally got it somewhat right. But we are still having problems with the billing aspect. We got a Home Depot Credit Card at the start of the job so that we could put the balance owed on it with no interest for 24 months as I stated on the amended contract. But without our knowledge the balance was put on my Visa credit card with very high interest, I did not give authorization to use my credit card.
I am a 100% disabled veteran and my wife is very ill and we did not need all of these troubles. I will never use or recommend to anyone services from Home Depot. It has been a total nightmare, and it is still taking a long time to get the balance switched from my Visa to the HDCC. Also it would have been nice to have English speaking Americans doing the job so that we could have communicated with them instead of illegal aliens. You all know it is against the law to hire them.

In 2015 I signed a contract for a new roof with Home Depot. That K (contract) does not mention a subcontractor of who it may be. I never signed a K with the actual roofer. Home Depot never came and got on the roof to check it out as the Home Depot woman told me they would. First rain, the roof leaks, I contact Home Depot over and over and they do nothing. IN 2016 there are MORE leaks and Home Depot does nothing. In about NOV of 2016 a woman contacts me and asks for the rest of my payment and I say no way, get out here and fix the roof and I have interior damage also! It takes them 6 months and continuing interior damage before they finally get the leaks fixed. The roof is a incompetent installation.
They finally agree to tear off first roof and out on a new roof. That was finished about 3 weeks ago. They made me go through their claims "process" for the interior damage. Home Depot is self insured. I just found that out. Home Depot turns around and dumps the claim on the roofer and then I had to deal with the roofer's insurance company which was a NIGHTMARE. All the damage was a result of a bad roof. But insurance did not want to pay what was due. I had to file complaints with the local DA, Contractor Licensing Board, and the Consumer Affairs Division of the state. It took them ELEVEN months and two state agencies to get them to settle the claim three weeks ago!
The first big rain was last weekend and guess what, the second NEW roof leaked! Home Depot said I had to go thru their "claims process". I said, "NO". Then they agreed yesterday to fix everything. Then today they said, "Forget it, go to claims". So many people have suffered damage, emotional distress and sheer torment because of Home Depot's fraudulent practices. If you are interested in being part of a class action suit, let me know.

Live in Florida and after an inspection from on of Home Depot's roofing estimator, whom did an outstanding job, I received the following quote for a roof replacement that was damaged by a recent hurricane. The quote came into what my insurance company stated it should cost to replace it, the documentation from my insurance company was sent to Michael before the inspection.
On November 13th at approximately 11:00 a.m., I contacted the sales person and stated that I would like to go with Home Depot to get my roof replaced and we agreed to meet at 6:00 p.m. at the house that day for my deposit and for me to sign the required paperwork. After my verbal acceptance I informed the other companies that I had quotes from that I would not be selecting them. At 4:30 p.m. I received a voicemail from Michael saying that the Home Depot is no longer doing the “insurance program, and that Home Depot cannot do the insurance pricing right now”. I called the salesman we talked that it was his management that is dishonoring the quote and that if I wanted Home Depot to replace my roof it will cost approximately twice as much.
The next day, I contacted Home Depot's customer care call center and once I got the roofing section, the care person on the other end of the line was just as confused and I was on why you would not honor your quote, that she understands that Home Depot may have just changed your business model but any outstanding quotes should be honored. She put me on hold and apparently talked to the roofing manager for Central Florida. When she came back online she apologized profusely and simply said that the manager will not honor it since it goes against their business plan. She was as shocked as I was by the answer.
The funny thing is that I found the core values of Home Depot and they are; “Building Strong Relationships -Trust, honesty and integrity are the foundations of strong relationships. We demonstrate these principles when we listen and respond to the needs of our customers, associates, communities and vendors.” And "Doing the Right Thing - We strive to understand the impact of our decisions. We accept responsibility for our actions. We do not tolerate dishonest or unethical behavior. We do the right thing.”
This is my confusion, maybe after retiring from the Navy after more than 20 years for faithful service and damaging my body in the process, I have a different understanding of trust, honesty and most importantly integrity. Also, can Home Depot please tell me how not honoring an active quote written by that your company because it not does not fit your newly elected business model is in line with “not tolerate dishonest or unethical behavior?” I understand that you are a business, and you are there for profit and creating value for your shareholders, I get it. But I feel that if you do not live within your other 7 core values that you have published then what value are you creating for your shareholders tomorrow and the day after tomorrow?

It have been raining almost everyday in Florida and the roof is leaking worst. I have called several times and the situation is not being resolved. My roof was done 3 times in 1 year. Had no problems until 5 years later. Shingles were wavy but I had no leaks. Home Depot sent someone out. He put a few nails in and asked if the wood underneath was replaced. It was. My roof leaked in 4 spots of my house just over a week after that. Now home depot says it's my siding, windows and no gutters and are refusing to fix the problem. I'm getting a breach of contract lawyers. Has anyone sued Home Depot about their roof?

I am writing this review in hopes of preventing someone else from having the issues that we are having with the roof that we contracted with Home Depot Services to install on our home in Cutler Bay, FL. We signed a contract in November 2016. We chose Home Depot because we knew they have been in business for a long time and they would be a company that would be able to honor their warranty and not close like some other small businesses. What we got is a horrible product and service and even dangerous conditions.
Home Depot ended up contracting our work out to the same exact contractors that we were choosing not to contract to. They did this without notifying us at all. When the workers showed up- they did not have one person who spoke English so it was impossible to communicate with them. They completed the roof but did not install the roof vents that were supposed to be included, they had used a type of pry bar to "peel back" the siding of our home which we are not sure why because they did not even replace the flashing on our home, they did not clean up any of the material that they threw on the ground including nails and roofing papers, and finally they left a hole in the corner of our home that bats found and entered our home.
Home Depot has admitted that the work is bad and has accepted responsibility but has not paid us one cent nor fixed the following items: Bats in the attic- We had to pay to get the bats out of our attic- we did this with the understanding that Home Depot was reimbursing us the money with our claim. To date we have not received a dime of that money.
Bat Feces/Urine in the attic: This is a really serious health hazard and to date Home Depot has not paid for this work to be completed nor will they pay for an air quality report to see how bad this damage is. They have said they are going to pay, but again, we have received nothing. We live in a hot, humid climate and my wife has a very compromised immune system but they are not budging. Unfortunately we do not have the funds to have this work completed on our own. The vents for our air conditioning run through the attic so it is very concerning with the risks of histoplasmosis and other health issues that can be present in this mess.
Siding repair- Our whole front of the house has siding that has been pried away from our home and is now uneven and wavy. Water and insects are able to get between the siding and structure which is concerning. Home Depot asked for a quote for the repair which we got and got very inexpensive but they again have not paid us to get the repairs done nor have they sent anyone else to do the job right. At this point we just want the house in that area to look like it did before they started the job. We have photos of the home right before the project and after so there is no doubt when the damage occurred.

I wish I would have read this site before contracting with Home Depot. I paid almost double what I would have with a local contractor because I thought Home Depot would be trustworthy. I was selling my home and needed a roof replaced. The inspection report returned with a problem on the roof. Turns out they installed the improper type of material. Now they want to “fix” it by putting a different material on one section of the roof. After all the money I paid, this is unacceptable. Does anyone know who I can contact for help?

I purchased a new roof ($30k-plus) for my new home in May 2017. It took about a month to get the permits, which is understandable. I received a call that the job would start shortly thereafter. Even more so, the new roof comes after a nine-month renovation to the home, which concluded about two weeks ago. Our initial project manager was non-existent. After our materials were delivered August 9th, they remained untouched for a month. Then Hurricane Irma potential becomes eminent and the project suddenly starts! Two days before the storm's arrival, Home Depot insists on starting the project against our will and introduces a new project manager. The installer's work commences for at least 12 hours over two days.
In the midst of the storm water is now pouring everywhere in our family room. Our new furniture and electronics are getting ruined. Our artwork is removed from the walls. And we're steadily manning water spots with so many containers. At some point the room will become uninhabitable and perhaps a hazard. What's more, our roof has debris and materials that were left on top of our roof, which now can serve as projectiles during the storm. The installer left a large propane tank and the large tar machine remains in my driveway after I insisted that the installer remove it. My family and I had to put away the company's raised ladder, which was left standing at the back of the house before the storm.
Stacks of plywood was piled everywhere by workers; we moved those items into our storage unit. An electrical cord was left plugged in hanging from the top of our roof. I had to climb up on the roof, examine the origin, and then remove it. Upon my discovery while surveying the roof, a wheelbarrow and other items still remained there. I simply could not remove them down in time.
This is not my first time using Home Depot for home improvements. I purchased gutters and hurricane shutters. Interestingly enough, I had another issue with shutter installer, too. All but two windows received shutters even though the contract specified all. Home Depot representatives told me that the two windows, both small bathroom windows, were accidentally canceled and would be immediately installed.
The initial installation took place in late June. Last night upon the hurricane's arrival and at 12 a.m., the installer shows up to install the last two windows after weeks of calling Home Depot reps to follow up. We finally get in touch with the installer and he says he's been "busy with other projects" and couldn't get to me in time... two months later? This is unacceptable.
I'm perplexed by the hasty decision-making that took place via Home Depot's representatives. As the consumer, I made it clear that it was not a problem to wait until after the storm to start the project; instead I requested the company to remove the materials so that they don’t become a hazard during the storm. Friendly reminder: this project is costing a good $30K-plus.
Now I'm in a bind not only to complete the project with a company I’m displeased with, but also to restore my already, recently remodeled family room; I’m not sure if Home Depot, through its own omission, will take responsibility for its own actions and recover all that has been lost. The level of inconvenience this causes is beyond reproach. After this experience I simply cannot recommend Home Depot for services to anyone I know.

Home Depot of Wilmington, DE came to my home to give me a estimate and stated that the work would be done and done the Home Depot way. Well it was done by using my ladder without permission. After the roof was complete, I showed the inspector the damage and I was told they would send me a Home Depot gift card for the spreader that was broken and they would get a estimate for the crown molding and have it fixed.
Now mind you that the crown molding is old but it was not broken and it is now a eye sore and home to squirrels. I just want Home Depot to own up to what was done. I got Gutters and Leaf Guard installation from Home Depot after recommendation from sales person of Home Depot Dan **. He recommended that after we install this, no clogging would happen and we never have to worry about water going over the gutters and water will flow properly through gutters. He recommended some areas with commercial gutters. We took his recommendation and paid $5900 for the installation. Since then, we still have the same issues and now one of the gutters downspouts is busted after clogging.
We have been trying to get this issue resolved for over a month. James ** came for the inspection on 20th June, 2017 and made us aware that Leaf Guard does not work. The sales staff just sells and service people have to deal with the issues. He also mentioned that the whole house should have been installed with commercial gutters to minimize the water going over the gutters. It seems Home Depot gets the work done from third party company and they are unable to get hold of them and resolve the issue. Now James ** does not even take the calls and returns back the message left for him. Home Depot is not standing behind the representation they made before this install.

After my roof was damaged by hail, I went with one of the approved vendors on the list from TD insurance, seeing that Peak Installations was linked with the Home Depot name. That was a huge mistake! They were extremely unprofessional, swearing like hoodlums and making a huge mess. I could handle that as long as the job was well done, but it wasn't. They left the front of the house looking horrible! The fascia was bent and wobbly and when I complained to my insurance company (TD, which I'm thinking of switching) Peak came back out to fix it when I wasn't home. They managed to make it look even worse. The fascia is all dented and a metal piece is sticking out from the side of it, too. Some random person at TD decided that this was good enough, even though I sent pictures and the woman handling my file agreed with me that it looked worse.
It's a huge mess, and no one wants to take responsibility for it. I would never trust these people and will think twice about the Home Depot name as well. If anyone has a good insurance company with excellent rates (other than TD) I'll switch that, too. A friend a few streets over from me is with another insurance company and ended up with Peak Installations as well. They broke her sliding door. So on top of the roof hassle, that had to be replaced. Don't trust these guys.

When he finally did call he claimed he couldn't find my house, so stated he would try to deliver Monday, this was a Friday. He did come Saturday morning after I spoke to Home Depot. When he got to my house he said he knew my neighbor and had been to my road many times. It was one of the 1st nice days we had here in Maine, so I'm guessing he wanted today off.
Late May I bought a washer, dryer, fridge, and stove they were scheduled to be delivered June 6th. I stayed home from work to wait. Around 5:30 I get a call. The man said, "I've had a very bad day and need to make your delivery tomorrow." Ok, I took another day off. I was told the company would call me in the morning. Around 1 pm I called them. They didn't have me on their schedule and my stuff wasn't on the truck. At this point I had given my old appliances away so I had nothing. The next day, Wednesday still no delivery and another day taken off from work.
Finally got my stuff Thursday. Delivery guys were nice but left some cardboard in my back yard. I was just happy to get my stuff. Went to use my dryer a couple days later and the door latch was broken, can't use my dryer. Called Home Depot and they basically told me there's nothing they can do and to call manufacturer. I did and the manufacturer has been very helpful getting the dryer fixed for me.
I've spend almost 8,000.00 in the last month and half and Home Depot has not been helpful at all, just excuse after excuse. I'm remodeling my home this summer and needs lots of stuff, wood, flooring, paint, carpet, and hardwood floors. Replacing furnace, front deck, floors, carpet, painting, new cupboards, countertops. I guess my money isn't a big deal to them because they've lost my business. Will be heading to Lowe's from now on. I can't believe anyone could be worse than Home Depot. I got a phone call from the subcontractor to inform me that the roof installation was completed and I need to pay right away on 4/4/17. I paid the balance of $16,741.00 on my credit card. The total amount I paid was $17,741.00. After my work on the same day, I checked my new roof and found out several problems.
The metal flashing between the porch and the living room was not closed. I can see inside through the opening from distance. The ventilation pipe from the ventilator in the bathroom was not connected to the ventilator. Only a piece of Scotch tape stick on the top of the pipe and ventilator, making it seemingly connected together when I just looked at it. All the exhaust air from the bathroom is blown directly into the attic. The color of the shingles and the strips of my house are gray/green color. A red color of drip edge was installed. It makes the house looking odd because nowhere else on the house has red color. The drip edges at some sections touching wood board, which will get the board damaged quickly when it rains.
I was able to contact the manager through text message. He told me that Home Depot did not match the color of the drip edge and it was in the contract. If I did not like it, I could paint it myself. I reviewed my copy of the contract and could not find it anywhere in the contract. He also told me that the drip edges were installed correctly. He did not address the situation of metal flashing and the connection of the pipe with the ventilator in the bathroom. I tried numerous times to contact him through phone and email and did not get any response. I always thought that Home Depot had quality service behind its name and chose it as an installer for my new roof knowing that I would pay for a few thousands dollars more than the other installers. Now I am stuck in the situation and don't know what to do with it. This is very disappointing.

In April of 2015, my wife and I purchased a new roof through Home Depot and put it on a HD credit card. A couple months later, we had our first leak in the garage. Here in New Mexico, we have predominately flat roof and roof drains called Canales. Someone came out. Threw some caulking around a couple of areas and called it fixed. A couple months later, same thing, same place. They came back out, same repair. "It's all good now". On November 18th, 2016, we discovered another leak, same thing same place only this time, we had no idea how long it had been leaking. Went to my Home Depot, spoke to a very pleasant young lady who took my info and said someone would call me. A week goes by, no call, so I called. I was told someone would be out to repair it the next week.
I said I did not want the same company to come out and was told that was no issue. A week goes by, nobody comes. I call back to the number that Home Depot called me from. Had to leave a message... Nobody calls me back. I call again and now I'm getting angry. I escalate the issue up the chain. Again, another pleasant young lady takes my information, makes notes in their system and sends email... Nobody calls. Now, I am flat out mad. I call again and raise hell. It gets bumped up the chain even higher. I finally get hold of someone and they tell me someone will be out the next day. This time, it actually happens. We get on the roof, and he tells me that the roof that we paid almost $17,000.00 for was done completely wrong and patched in several areas (again, new roof should have no patches). He says that it needs to be redone, but that he needs authorization for the cost and it might take a week or so to get it.
I assure him that after as much as I had complained, it wouldn't take that long. Sure enough, about an hour later I get a call and it's approved. 2 weeks go by, no call, so I call and talk with the Project Manager. I get told that, "Yeah, they've been real busy doing warranty work"... I ask him, "Do you realize how pissed off I am," and get told "Well, yeah". That is now the end of any and all patience I have. I call and get bumped up to the Regional Manager and go off. I get told that the crew will be out the following Monday. Sure enough, the crew came, ripped off the old/new roof and complete the job in one day. Fantastic crew, polite, professional, very pleasant. I was even bringing them coffee and drinks during the day. 2 days later, I call and begin talks about compensation for this roof that we have been paying for and that was done wrong from the get go.
I am told that they can offer me 10% off. Not good enough. I said it took 5 weeks for them to get this done and I get told that "Well Home Depot did make it good"... Yeah, after 5 weeks and me having to make phones calls is the only reason it didn't take even longer. I was told that the amount that he had offered was actually more than he was authorized to do but that he was sure he could get it passed (where I come from, if you are only authorized a certain level, you can't offer more).
So again, I said the offer was not good enough given the circumstances and I was told that to go higher, it would have to be authorized from someone higher and that he would pass it on. It has now been 4 more weeks and nobody has called. I called and had to leave a message. The morale of the story here is go with someone else, because Home Depot will gladly take your money, but their word and therefore their brand is not worth the contract they signed.

Beware, stay away from Home Depot. We spend over $100,000 to renovated our new house. New ceiling, new walls, new bathrooms, new floors... etc. We wanted to replace our roof as well. We thought Home Depot, as a big company that is in the business for so many years, so we selected them to replace our roof because we trusted them. On the first day of the work, a few Mexican workers came in to replace our roof, they have no Home Depot uniforms on. Then we realized Home Depot subcontract roofing to the other company.
Ok, it is fine, as long as they are professional on roofing. However, Home Depot didn't forecast the weather before they set up the work day. There was heavy rain on the afternoon. So these people didn't fully cover 1/4 of the attic that was ripped off, and there were huge leaks to our new bathroom and 1/2 of the other room. It was all messed up. So they stopped the work and came back on the next day. I informed the project manager about the leaks, and the damages to our sheet rock, skylight, and insulation.
On the second day, he and those Mexican workers walked to our second floor to inspect the damages. Before they stepped into our house, I told them we just finished a coat on the 1st floor, they have to be careful. However, they didn't care, they just stepped in with their shoes on, and now, I can still see some footprints on our floor. Then, the project manager told me it was subcontractor's fault, so it is their responsibility to fix it. From my viewpoint, it is Home Depot's fault since they didn't forecast the weather. The project manager also referred this incident to the claim department. They finished the rest of the work on the 2nd day. I had to deal with the claim department about the repairs, they told me it is subcontractor's responsibility.
It took more than a month for the subcontractor to come to fix it, I ended up having no bathroom to use on the second floor for more than a month. They didn't fully replace all the damages, they only replaced whatever they can at the lowest cost, because in order for them replace all the insulation and sheet rock that was wet before, they need to break the walls, and it involves a lot of work. So I told them if I found any molds later in the future, I will file a lawsuit against them.
Now only three months after roof replacement, I found water stains all over my room. This is the room that didn't get any leaks before. Then, I searched online about Home Depot's complaint, I found out a lot of homeowners experienced the same issue as I do with Home Depot. Now, I have realized Home Depot only subcontracts its work to the lowest bidding contractors, they didn't care about quality of the work, they only care about the profit. They are buck passer. If anything happen, they told you it is subcontractor's responsibility. Remember, we are not signing the contract with the subcontractor, we are signing the contract with Home Depot. It is cheating on consumers like us who trusted them so much. Whoever encounters this type of issue like I do with Home Depot, please email me at: **. We should file a class action lawsuit against Home Depot.

I chose HD to install a new roof based on prior good experiences. I will not make this mistake again. Project delays. The work started more than 2 weeks after it was quoted to be done. This caused us a number of problems with our home sale process. At not time did I get the sense of any sort of urgency on the part of anyone in the HD organization, nor was there any acceptance that this was a problem. The HD "project team" lied to me about scheduling delays. They claimed that the late project start was due to permitting delays. Two weeks after being told this I called the city to ask about the delay and was told that the permit had not yet been applied for. In fact, the city has a 2-day maximum turn-around on permits. It appears to me that they intentionally misquoted the lead time, then tried to push the blame for it onto the city, hoping that I wouldn't follow up with them myself.
The installation manager never once answered his mobile phone through the course of the project. I tried a dozen times or more, and not one single time. I left messages that he said he didn't receive, and even the project team couldn't get him to answer his phone - until, of course, he wanted me to sign off on completion and billing. Clean-up after the job was not good. Lots of debris was left around, walks not cleared off, and generally not up to expectations, given that HD's bid was thousands more than the other contractors. They came back to finish the job after I refused to sign off on completion, but this cost me yet another week of lost time selling the house. The bottom line for me is that I feel that I paid more and got less from HD on this project. I chose HD hoping that they would have management systems that would make it a hassle-free, on-time project without complications. Unfortunately, HD absolutely failed to deliver.

I had roof done. Major leak damage occurred. Roof was eventually repaired seemingly effectively. During the process I was assured interior damage caused exclusively by the leak would be repaired to my satisfaction. Matter was turned over to insurance company. I submitted contractor reports and estimates indicating the entire section of popcorn ceiling would have to be redone as patches would be detectable and not satisfactory. The first estimate was unrealistic, but the second was about $8,000 (for only that section; I didn't ask to do remaining 2/3 of ceiling as there is a beam divider and i wanted that section to be uniform).
Based on inspector's report, repair would only be to patch the two affected areas in two different locations within the section. Insurer wouldn't budge and could care less about the look of the repair. When I went back to HD, I was told that it was in the hands of the insurance company and the people contacted could not or would not get back involved. In other words, despite the promises, damn the customer. While I appreciate the effort of the project manager who did what he could to correct the problem on the roof, I deplore the attitude of HD in telling the customer it was being abandoned. I would never do another job with HD.

I had a new roof put on by Home Depot "roofing experts" in 2001. Within 6 months I had a roof leak. I called HD, they gave me a very difficult time. I finally reached a manager of the home repair dept. He said he looked at the roof, "fixed" it and I would not have another leak. This summer, the same area did leak and caused tons of damage inside. The roofer that is repairing my roof said the shingles were applied incorrectly, nailed above and below the tape and not on it. The roof area had a low slope and should have been fixed differently. That was never discussed. Too late for me, I am getting a new roof and costing me plenty!! Do not hire Home Depot!!

I feel as if I should have known better and feel taken advantage of. HD installed siding and gutters on my house a year ago. It cost me roughly $14k and they promised to do it right. They underestimated the materials and never contacted me. I only found out when I called to ask about the delay. We agreed on a fix and the service was rescheduled. Then came the real problems. First contractor crew was slow and more interested in scrapping my siding for beer money than anything else. They were taken off the job after ripping off my brand new front door and a new lead from the same company was sent out. They seemed to do everything properly and I was initially happy... until the shortcuts and mistakes started making themselves known.
First a piece of siding hung off my home because they attempted to secure it with a blind screw instead of using a properly sized j-channel and snap lock punch. Then the entire finishing strip on the back of my home came loose... again not properly fitted into the j-channel with a snap lock punch. Then a window wrap started coming off. Upon further inspection they improperly installed every window and door wrap. This allowed water in which warped the underlying framing lumber. No flashing was used anywhere.... complete botch job that will require an entire teardown to fix.
Then the front of my home started having issues. The top row of siding on my first row not secured into the j-channel with a snap lock punch. A j-channel was used to start and hold the second floor siding which began to sag and separate as it was improperly installed, used and allowed no path for water drainage. I also have huge gaps where the siding meets the corner posts, improperly installed vents and improperly installed exterior outlet. My HD installed gutters began to leak also where they meet the fascia. They were not properly sloped or installed.
These guys are supposed to be the experts and get the job done right. They are supposed to have a great warranty and customer support. They don't have either really. It is difficult to get someone here and takes a lot of heated complaints to get things moving. Currently they are starting to see what they can do... but... it has taken a month of calls, emails and facebook posts to make that happen. Who knows what the end result will be. Either they fix it or I try to sue them or their subcontractors.
The trouble is not worth the end result either way. Your best bet is to avoid this company as good service is a real crapshoot. I feel that HD and their subcontractors believe that doing the job they were paid to do right is going above and beyond. I wasn't aware that meeting minimal performance objectives was not a reasonable expectation for HD; I am now though. Wish me luck.

BUYER BEWARE!!! I had my roof replaced by Home Depot. They did an excellent job on the roof, and they were neat and friendly. My BIG problem is with the paperless method of doing business. I received my "receipt" through email, which I have no problem with. But then I missed a VERY important part of that email, which is that somehow the color of the roof was changed! I saw the money part and thought that was what I needed to review. (Wouldn't you?) I never dreamed that the color would not be what I ordered. The blame falls on me because I did not catch the error until the roof was put on, and there was no hard copy showing my selection. I'm VERY UNHAPPY that my roof isn't the color I had expected. If you use the Home Depot for installation, review EVERY INCH of your contract!!!

We had Home Depot re-roof our home 5 years ago, and just after the 5-year warranty expired our roof started to leak. We contacted Home Depot Installations and they sent out a roofer to inspect. He said there was nothing wrong with the roof installation and that our problem was due to condensation. We then hired an independent roof inspector and his report said that more than 70% of the nails were improperly done. Improper placement, overdriven and underdriven nails, and that there was water ingress at these points soaking the felt underlay and resulting in slow leaks.
After discussion with Home Depot Installations and Home Depot Head Office in Canada, they decided that this was not their problem. We are considering taking Home Depot to small claims court since the shingles were not installed per the manufacturer's instructions. We have spent a great deal of money at Home Depot in the past, but their failure to fix a job done improperly ensures we will not use Home Depot again for anything and will make sure we let others know that they are not a reputable company to buy from.

In 2011 we had our roof replaced by Home Depot Home Services. It has been nothing but problems from day one, from wrong color of shingles installed to leaks in roof since installation. We have a 25 year warranty on roof and craftsmanship. With each problem including damage to ceiling from leaks, Home Depot has stonewalled us, taken forever to return calls and when contractor (Donahoo Roofing) did show up, he complained to us because of the times we contacted Home Depot to try to get a response. Three weeks ago another leak occurred. After several calls Home Depot sent someone out to repair the leak. Three days later, it rained again and roof still leaking. Have been trying since then to get Home Depot to fix it and getting the same runaround.
Now have ceiling damage with sagging, stain and mold. When the roofer mentioned above, finally called us, he said to spray solution of bleach and water on it. He said he would be out to check roof maybe Friday, Monday or Tuesday when he is in the neighborhood??? It's now Monday. Will not allow this contractor to touch our roof or ceiling. We have left message for Home Services Manager at Home Depot advising him that we no longer wish to deal with Donahoo Roofing. They need to send a professional roofer and a professional to repair the ceiling. I do not recommend either Home Depot or Donahoo Roofing for ANY projects.

Now 4 months later I have nothing but water stains on the ceiling. I called them and the same guy never called back. Finally I called the roof people and they said that there was nothing wrong with the roof. But I had a problem with some pipe on the roof and that he told the same guy that's in charge of the installation FROM HOME DEPOT and again he never called me back. So I called the roof guy and he said that he was going to call him. Then finally he called me back and told me the same thing as the roof guy.
Another words the problem now is mine. They said that this pipe was cracked and water was coming in. I looked at the pipe on the roof and I didn't see any crack. Those people are no good. You talk to one it's the same as talking to all of them. They all need to be fired. It's beyond me how home depot is still opened. These people from Home Service are no good. The roof replacement was incredible and reasonably priced below five other reputable roofing contractors who advertise in the penny saver, on TV and radio and with flyers when they knock on doors handing them out. The guy who sold it was extremely knowledgeable and professional and told me just what would happen, when it would happen and how much it would cost. And that's exactly what happened. They showed up at 7 am a few days before thanksgiving in 2015 when they said they would show up, a day before scheduled because it was supposed to rain on the scheduled date. Ten guys showed up and got straight to work. They had all of the shingles of my house off and in a dumpster they brought with them by 9 am.
They had all the job done by 3 pm, two groups working at the same time on different parts of the house. Unbelievable efficiency! It is a 2500 square foot house with a steep roof, and a two car attached garage! I was told by all other contractors it should take two to three days, but Home Depot was done in 1 day. I also got a new account set up with no hassle that included 2 years with no interest on the Home Depot Credit Card to pay for the whole job.
A few days after it was installed, I noticed a few loose nails when looking out one of the bedroom windows and a hip shingle coming loose on our bay window roof (which was originally not really expected to be part of the roof). I called the rep that sold it and told him about it. They sent one of the guys out who went back up on the roof and swept for any loose nails and trash they may have left behind and he came down with a small bag full of trash. They also fixed that shingle that had come loose. I was really pleased and would recommend Home Depot Roofing to everyone. They are not perfect, but very fair and way more trustworthy than these other co's out there charging the same as Home Depot or more than Home Depot who tried to convince me they were better than Home Depot.

I decided to go with Home Depot because I wanted a warranty and felt that they would be around in 10 years to honor the warranty in case something went wrong. Little did I know that Home Depot contracts their work out. As a result I received a botch roof and refused to sign off on the work order on the initial date of installment. Three days later we had some rain and of course my roof leaked. I notified Home Depot and believe it or not it took them over 6 months to stop my roof from leaking. Over the course of the 6 months, my ceiling became damaged with water stains.
Home Depot requested me to submit a claim to their insurance company who in return has been giving me the run around. Their insurance agent Sedgwick CMS has been doing everything in their power to not pay for my ceiling to get repaired. When I provided them with the estimates per their request they gave me the run around stating they did not receive it. I sent it to them again and again. Eventually they tried to put the claim on the third party contractor's insurance agent. Needless to say they are refusing to make me whole. Eventually, they sent out an adjuster who estimates did not come close to the three estimates I provided and refusing to negotiate. It's been over one year and my ceiling has not been repaired.

Home Depot sent a group (no English spoken) from about one hundred miles away, who forgot to bring tarps to catch the tiles. So they threw them from the roof into their truck backed up to the house. One of them (it turned out with no license and unable to drive) attempted to move the truck but REVERSED, instead of going forward. He crashed into the house, but far worse, he pinned a fellow-worker against the house. That man was close to death when the ambulance I called arrived. I was prevented from following his progress (if any): The Home Depot sub-contractor refused to discuss it. I "saved" about 12 percent against the hiring of either one of two local roofing companies that have been in business for many years. Foolish in retrospect.
Seven years later. It was hard to find the Home Depot representative to ask him to check a saucer-shaped depression about eight feet in diameter and three inches deep that had developed on the roof. The roof was guaranteed for ten years. When, finally, the representative called ("Phil No-last-name") he sent someone out. "Ah, BUT the depression must have been due to a failure UNDER the tiles. Only the TILES are guaranteed"! Before you get The Home Depot to find the cheapest outfit out there, I would suggest you consider local businesses with a reliable history.

Well, they didn't speak English so we couldn't communicate very well with them, but they were nice and worked hard. They did our Porch roof which wasn't supposed to get done and forgot to do the flat room on our house and adjoining house, which we had to pay for. They didn't do the trim around the chimney right, etc.
The day after our roof was done, we had a rain storm during the night. We woke to water dripping in our bedroom. Called them the next morning, said they would be out to fix. When they came he said it was the flashing on the dormer which they say is NOT part of the roof. We have been back and forth for three months for them to fix leak that wasn't there when they started. Have talked to other roofers and they say that it is part of the roof and is always replaced when they do the roof. They have been out here at least 6x. WE ARE NOT SATISFIED. It took over a month to finally get someone out to my house and that was after I had to call Eric and complain about it. After they rescheduled my initial appointment, they no-showed. The roof was done by a group of unidentified people in white shirts with no branding of either home depot or cherry and clark. Seems they had outsourced our job to another company without our knowledge or approval. They rushed through the job finishing in one day which normally takes 2-3 days for our size roof as confirmed in previous contractor quotes. However, the Home Depot representative did not bring the color samples along at the time of the appointment so I could not pick the color. I brought out the actual paint sample that I wanted and gave her the specific brand and name of the color and she indicated that she would match it. Home Depot hires a contractor to do the work and an installation date was agreed on. I took time off work to be home for the installation, which is required. On the day of the installation, I received a call from the contractor that Home Depot had not given the a color for the gutters and they were unable to install the gutters at the scheduled time. One would think after this goof, that Home Depot would be on top of making this right, but it took a week for them to contact me about picking out the color.
This time I was given the color samples to choose a color and I picked the color. Another week went by and I had to contact Home Depot about setting up the installation date. We agreed on the date of installation and again I took time off from work to be present. The day of the appointment came and I had received no information about the time. I called Home Depot and the contractor and found out that the contractor did not have me on the schedule for installation. The Home Depot people are all very pleasant on the phone, but the problem is they are unable to coordinate setting up the service they advertise. This should be an easy process, but they just don't follow through on any aspect of the service. I will not use Home Depot installation services in the future. I will be better off working directly with a contractor.

All of sudden, on April 18, 2015, Home Depot sent an email, saying that the project had been cancelled. This all started when a Home Depot sales rep came to my home to get a contract on the replacement of my roof. At that time there was a special offer of $1,500.00 off if the job cost was over $10,000.00. So somehow the total price got to $10,433.00 when it should have been around $6,000.00 total according to a local long time roofing company here in St Augustine. After deducting the $1,500.00 discount special amount the roof total cost ended up at $8,933.00. I just plainly got over charged for the roof by $3,000.00 and then after your subbing out the job to a contractor in Jacksonville Fl who then sent workers to install the roof, the workers that came to install the roof didn't appear to be professional and didn't have all the proper equipment to do the work, they didn't even a ladder to get onto the roof.
I noticed that they didn't install the ridge vent on the front of the house as was stated in the contract that there was 72 ft of ridge vent and they only installed about 48 ft on the main roof. I questioned the workers and they assured me that I didn't need the vent on that part of the house as it was lower than the main roof vent and would be more efficient if left off. Later I was in the attic and discovered that the front part of the house was not open to the main house roof and that there would be no place for that area to vent not having a ridge vent.
They didn't clean up the nails in the area around the house and I got nails in my tires and in my feet, and they piled the old metal flashings up against the side of the house and scratched the paint, for that I was offered a $100.00 gift card (that I was supposed to get anyway after installing the new roof.) I had to buy a new tire as I didn't feel comfortable having a plug and patch in the middle of a tire, my tires were getting near to replacement so I decided to have four new tires put on. Someone told me that they could pay for one tire but not the four, but I never heard any more about that.
There was a problem with the eave trim on the south end of the roof and a face board was replaced and not installed properly, that came back to correct it and were not happy with having to do it, there was a lot of foul mouth cussing from them while doing the work up on the roof about not getting paid for coming back and about me, I was very upset and stayed in the house until they finished and left. Because of being over charged $3,000.00 I decided to not engage in any more large projects with Home Depot such as kitchen cabinets, Gutters, fence, electric panel and patios that I have completed from other contractors.
The man that came 10/21/2014 and installed the ridge vent on the front part of the house and repaired the ridge vent on the main part of the house did an outstanding job and was working alone. He was from LWR Lewis Walker Roofing. The problem is that the special $1,500.00 discount seem to have been a misconception as it doesn't show up in the sales contract.

My roof is leaking, the ceiling is leaking water from my electrical fixture and from other places, sheet rock has been destroyed, moisture has been built within your walls, insulation has been ruined, who will pay for this??? They finally send someone on site after 3 days, the guy barely spoke English and then they blamed the windows???? I know for a fact it has nothing to do with the windows, they are properly sealed and silicone professionally. I got a second and third opinion from other contractors and they both said, "there's nothing wrong with your windows." I will be suing home depot for all the repairs. I wish I hadn't paid them all the money that I owed them. I paid 10 GRAND for this project to get really bad service. STAY AWAY FROM HOME DEPOT!!!!

First off the salesman comes out and sales use on the Peace of Mind Warranty Roof, suppose to be guaranteed for as long as we own the house. When they did the installation though they didn't use the material that was required for the lifetime roof. They tried to say that wasn't the roof I was sold but the salesman had already gave me the warranty paper. So they gave me some money back, not much, for using the cheaper material and said it was still covered under the lifetime warranty. Well you might say why didn't you just make them redo the roof? I tried to, they wasn't having that. So since the installation they have been out here fourteen different times because the roof is leaking around the chimney and they can't get it stopped. Now I have water damage in my hallway ceiling sheetrock and it's cracking. This has been nothing but a nightmare. The roof they took off was done by a local carpenter with no warranty and we had no problem with it. So much for big company's reputations.

I decided to have Home Depot roof my house because they are a multi-billion dollar corporation, and I didn't want the hassle of a little company doing this job. WHAT A MISTAKE! We put a deposit down for the roof, the built in gutter system to be removed, and all fascia to be replaced, and a ridge vent to be installed. I got the supplies delivered on July 7th, roofers to start July 8th. First, 7 of the 16 ft. fascia boards to be installed were the wrong width. All our fascia that is attached to our house is five-fourths, what was delivered was 3/8th. I immediately called and asked that they bring out the correct boards, so that I could paint them before being installed. The supervisor came out to check the dimensions and said that it was acceptable practice to use 3/8th. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY RED FLAG. I asked for the correct size, and it was delivered.
The next day the roofers were to arrive between 8-10. At 1 pm they showed up. After unloading their equipment, I asked if he had ever removed built-in gutters? He said "What? I don't know what you mean." I had to explain to him how we were going to do this. He said "oh, well, that seems easy enough". He was a 24 yr old roofer. He stripped the plywood off the roof and when he looked into the attic, he noticed some rafters that had been damaged by a tree. He suggested we hire a structural engineer to assess and tell him how to go about fixing the damage. Half of my roof is torn off, and I had to place the entire job on hold.
It took a week to get an engineer out, 2 weeks for the report. The report cost me $1000.00 and he decided I needed a permit, and to remove all my plywood from the roof, repair all my rafters with plywood sheets including the ones not damaged. Then, when I tried to get a hold of the roofer who suggested the engineer, he wouldn't call back. He said he'd come out Monday. That came and went, no show, no call. Then he said Wed at 5, no show, no call. By Aug 7th I was so upset about not being able to get a hold of anyone, even the supervisor couldn't reach him. I called a private general contractor to give me an estimate for my damaged rafters. He asked me why they called a structural engineer in the first place. He said, "Roofers see this all the time. You fix the damage, and you continue roofing. You let the homeowner know how much the fix will be."
When I let the supervisor know about what it was going to take to fix it, he said "Well, maybe I should have come out and looked at it." He explained the reason we never got a hold of the roofer was that he went on a fishing trip. He let me know our roof was priority! On Aug 10th, I let the supervisor at Home Depot know the rafter repair would be done and we would be ready for roofing the week of the 25 of Aug. On Aug 22, I let the supervisor know on the 28th, we could start roofing. He got all upset. He said well I have to try and work out this schedule. He was almost yelling at us. I decided to call customer to support, because I thought someone else needed to know the situation. Customer support wasn't much help either. No supervisor on top of the installing super ever called.
I called headquarters. They assured me someone would call. I got desperate and asked to speak to someone higher up than the operator. I happen to get a hold of the regional supervisor for INTERIOR installations. He made personal phone calls, sent personal emails to the EXTERIOR installer supervisors. Still NOTHING. On the 26th, we got a call from the original supervisor overseeing our project. He said "Because you called corporate, you messed everything up. I need to come out and see if this roofer I am going to pull from a job is capable of handling this job." This new roofer drove 45 miles, so I could interview him. When I asked if he had ever removed built-in gutters, his response was no. He was honest. His work order that Home depot gave him never even mentioned cutting out the built-in gutter system, just "replace fascia". My general contractor, that I hired to do my rafter repair, was there to explain how the process of removing built-in gutters and how T.P.O. will be used for the valleys in the roof.
I FIRED HOME DEPOT. They, to date, have not refunded my money. They said they WILL NOT give me the $1000.00 for the engineering report, that was requested by THEIR subcontractor. I have all the material left on site. They have offered me NOTHING for my troubles. I am requesting my deposit, and $1000.00 and to keep all materials left on site for my troubles, and no appropriate work. I have heard NOTHING. Almost 2 months, with half a roof removed, and not one apology. I hope you read my entire story, so I can save you heartache, lost time, and money.

2006 I purchased a roof skylights and gutters with downspouts from Home depot. 2007 my roof starts leaking. Several different roofers come out to my home. One man proceeds to accuse us of leaving skylights open. A year later lots of water damage they decide to replace entire roof again. This occurred after I go down to the store with my umbrella open while it was raining outside and inside my living room and make a scene at the customer service desk. Finally got someone's attention. 2013-2014 roof leaks again. I call my homeowners insurance who declines fixing roof but will pay for damages so reluctantly I call Home Depot to inspect roof. Of course I start a claim and get another round of the "run around."
Finally in May 2014, a man comes out from Home Depot. He doesn't bring a ladder just puts in an order for ice guard and shingles to replace half the roof. States they will call when shingles are in. No call from them. I call them. They apologize saying it's an open order but forgot. I explain my insurance won't fix it until roof is fixed. They call roofer to come out. Their roofer calls me this past Saturday to come over. I refuse. I have guests at my house. He calls Sunday. I say "yes come over." No show. He calls Monday, sets appt to come Tuesday. He is coming over to see what color shingles I have. He brags about having 25yrs of roofing experience. What he doesn't bring just floors me - No Ladder. THE PRIMARY TOOL OF HIS TRADE. I'M SO ANGRY. HE ASKS to set another appt.
I then call his boss manager at store in Jackson Mi. My contractor comes over after the roofer is told to buy a ladder and hose and come back to my house. My contractor had to hold this guys hand and explain how to see how much ice guard was on roof then explain how to use existing nails from shingles. Then explain how to back ladder off roof safely as to not break picture window and put less strain on his back. Incompetent isn't close to what this roofer is lacking. Eventually contractor asks this man to spray water towards my sky lights. Immediately water starts coming into my living room. The roofer says he would be willing to have my contractor fix it. Home Depot says if I let him my contractor fix it the Warranty is void. They have had their chances. I need someone who knows what they doing. Damages sixteen thousand dollars. Not.

We made an appointment for an estimate for roof replacement for our home and unattached spring house. The plan was to use their 'Project Loan' program. The estimator (Don) showed up on time. After a thorough explanation of what we wanted done and picking out the tile color he began to take measurements. The house is a two story with a just a slight downward slope towards the rear over the addition (called a dual pitch). There is also a front porch and side laundry area. The spring house is about 35 feet long and has a conventional gable roof. After taking measurements he requested to inspect the attic and explained that it was required. No problems there.
When he was finished he went to his vehicle to calculate the cost and talk to the office. After about 20 minutes he was ready. He explained that because our home is set back from the main road and we have only a small bridge that it posed a problem. I explained that our bridge was destroyed and the new one wasn't going up for a few months and that our neighbors let us use theirs for deliveries and it's OK to drive across the properties. We live in farm country. That wasn't acceptable because of the possibility of some liability issues. So then it was agreed that their truck could deliver the materials and offload them at the road and I would bring them to the house on my own trailer. That included the plywood, which was needed, the roofing tile and paper.
A lot of work for me but I agreed to it. That's when the 'sticker shock' effect happened. Because we are doing an almost complete renovation on the house it's vital to trim cost wherever we can so we opted for the less expensive tile with a ten year warranty over the one with the 25 year warranty. Even with that trimming the estimate was a complete surprise. Keep in mind that the house is a small one built in the1860's with very small rooms. Without permitting to let me see the cost analysis he prepared he announced that the total would be $17,415.00. He then tried everything he could to get me to agree on the spot. He tried to get a credit card number of some kind, a check or even agree to some kind of a binding Oral Agreement, essentially a contract.
Keep in mind that I have no way of knowing the breakdown of material costs or labor because he is not showing me any numbers. I had already dismissed this sale but just to keep the door open I thanked him and told him he would hear from me in a day or two. He then left but it was obvious that he was disappointed because he tried every way to get approval and a deposit. When he was gone I got out the folder to review the other estimates that we had received from local roofers here in Pennsylvania. I knew his was high but after reviewing the other estimates which we had received a couple of months back I saw that his was the highest. It was about $7000.00 over the estimate I received from the contractor I was originally planning to use.
A company with a A+ BBB record and in business for over 45 years. And they weren't concerned with offloading the material at the road which meant there was nothing for me to do and their tile came with a 25 year warranty and not a 10 year one. That price included all materials and labor. The decision was then made. Later that night about 7:30 a call came through on my cell phone from 'Don', not recognizing the number I let it go to voicemail. He left a message telling me that I could go to Home Depot that evening and leave a deposit. Again with the deposit! That way he could come back the next day to 'finalize' the deal and get my signature on a contract.
OK so I planned on calling him the next day to give him the bad news. But I didn't have to. He called me the next morning just after my wife and I had finished discussing the whole issue and of course immediately when into the sales pitch. I interrupted him and told him that his estimate was way too high and there was no way I was going to contract with Home Depot. So out of 5 estimates HD was the highest and frankly after reading some of the horror stories at various review sites online, we are glad we chose not to contract with Home Depot.

Home Depot did my roof. They have not been able to get my billing address right for over 3 months. They have not provided a warranty with the actual address of the home on it, so I don't know if that is even legal. No nail down inspection was done to my knowledge. No final inspection was ever done. The roof was blown off in a windstorm and Home Depot did not even provide information in a format the insurer could use to assist in the handling of my claim. There are physical defects in the roof that include an uneven ridge line. There are sags in the roof also.
Home Depot also hacked off the rafter tails on the roof, changing the architectural lines of the roof. They did this without my permission, and also then tried to charge me for this, claimed they had a change order, but have never produced this. I have spoken probably to a dozen reps who have done nothing to change the billing situation. They seem to not know how to put my right address or bill me to the right address. This has led to me having huge concerns about credit reporting, since we all know you cannot get those off, and the credit reporting agencies DO NOT remove errors or lies by companies because they do not review your information to see if the reporting company is lying. They do not investigate.
It is my opinion I was grossly overcharged, AND to try to conceal that, they have refused to give details of their billing. In fact, it was so bad that after my own life and 20 years experience in construction, civil engineering design, and contracting, I could not even sort it out and sent it all in to the state contractor's board. It appears they double and triple bill items by re-billing what was already billed in the contract amount. So, I have reported it all to the contractor's board, and other consumer complaint agencies in California. Also, I was in the process of trying to sell the home with a potential buyer - guess what? I will not be able to because if they cannot get my address right, how am I expected to believe they could ever transfer a warranty, and I am not even sure if their warranty is legal - it does not give the specific address on it.
They also did not give me verification of a wind load rating that I was told I paid for. They said the manufacturer would provide that which, in my opinion is bogus, because the manufacturer did not nail it down. The manufacturer never sent anything for obvious reasons. They will not fix the paperwork in writing or even provide details of the loan or billing in a statement. I was told that was done at least a half dozen or more times. NOT. And a lot more. I contacted some legal firms today, since the job was done in November 2013, and I still have not gotten a billing statement or confirmation they even have my correct address. Lots of problems with the craftsmanship also. This is a layered company. They will give you a big run around of different people who get nothing done, in my experience. In my opinion, classic run around to conceal incompetence, and then use their "management team" to try to lie and say how hard they tried.
I will never set foot in Home Depot again. I am a disabled vet forced to get increased medical treatments for stress thanks to Home Depot. The new roof is now a liability and with disclosure laws in California, it would have probably sold easier with the old one. I would never recommend this company and as I said will never set foot in a Home Depot again and consider them completely and entirely incompetent and believe they are con artists in management trying to double charge so they can balloon the prices by 2X, provide no service, then give the consumer a bunch of plain old BS to cover the fraud.
In my opinion based on over 20 years employment experience in related and directly related fields. DO NOT USE THESE SERVICES. Also, Home Depot used a brochure/folder that shows "Home Depot Guys" in beautiful photos working on your home. I am not racist. However the folder shows mostly white guys, and a black guy, a Hispanic, it appears. They are quite professional looking with logo shirts. The vast majority of workers at my home did not speak English. The lead guy spoke broken. I was not sure what he understood. I do not slight them, I feel they were exploited labor. In my opinion this is deceptive advertising and creates a real issue of communications with the customer. It has been reported on other contracts, including kitchen jobs where the owners could not even communicate what they wanted per their kitchen work. This seemingly is done to increase profit and commissions of upper managers, in my opinion. So, in my opinion the whole process is designed to fail, and nobody will be responsible to you when it fails for you.
I read many similar complaints after I realized what problems they had created for me. Being a 35 year former customer, I trusted this company, but as I stated will never set foot in a Home Depot again. It seems to me, and is my opinion, Home Depot is trying to build "empire" and even give loans to make more money for themselves. They should have stuck to what they know. Building supplier. Be prepared to spend hundreds of hours trying to deal with what I believe are incompetent management to the point of lunacy, my opinion. And in my opinion to pay double or even triple of most other contractors. It is truly shameful in my opinion.

I was charged extra for the Chimney flashing when it was already in the contract, and I must have the worst looking roof for miles around. I was told that all of the horrible looking nails (huge nails were used to nail down plywood) and other brads hanging down, and in some cases blowing out the wood in the eaves, could not be removed because of some liability issue of theirs. In looking at dozens and dozens of other homes with eaves extending over the sides of the houses, I could not locate one other house that had this. The guy also said that most houses don't have exposed eaves like mine did. I guess that explains why I saw hundreds of houses just like mine that had a quality roofing application. The wood trim flashing that protects the roof where it meets the sides of the house was removed and not replaced. In the contract it does say that it would be an extra cost, but I did not think, and was not told that it needed to be removed and then replaced.

They damaged the ceilings in the home through leaks and stained brown because they spray-painted everything brown sticking out of the roof. Broke a stink pipe that was sticking up through roof a foot. It now can't be seen. They broke siding and trim off. They tipped hot water heater over in its compartment and caused a gas leak in the home from throwing and stacking shingle bundles stacked 9 high on top of each other. Ripped a screen on window. I called Home Depot because our downspouts were old, and water would run between the roof and the gutters - I wanted to also replace with leaf-guard due to the amount of trees around the house. The gentleman, very pleasant, walked around the house, took measurements, made suggestions and I signed a contract to what I thought at his suggestion (he is the professional) was the best decision I've made. He also added that I could think it over as the cost was approx. $3,600 and I told him no, it sounds like this is what I want and he knows roofs, downspouts and gutter, so I went for it.
After a few weeks since we had not had much rain, we realized that this gutter was so great until we realized it not only keeps out the leaves but the rain as well, as it poured over the edges of the gutters. When I called to complain about it, I was told that an inspector would come by Friday, 1/25, to see what the problem is and they will let me know. On Tuesday, I was called by the same young lady that does the scheduling for work and she informed me that the gutters were fine and that the roof is the problem.
I said to her that if that was the case, then why would I buy new gutters at their estimators expense if there was a problem with the roof - does that even make sense - and she said that he took pictures and would email them to me. However, to date, I've not received any correspondence, probably because I told her that made no sense and I would seek help to resolve this issue. Why pay $3600 for something that does absolutely nothing but instead made a bad situation even worse?

I purchased a roof for my home from Home Depot in April 2011 and have been fighting since to have it properly installed. I paid with my Home Depot credit card. During one of my many calls to the customer service department, I was asked if I wanted to dispute the charge. I agreed it was worth disputing and that my roof (still to this day) is not satisfactorily installed. The dispute was opened on May 9th, 2012. The dispute was finalized in my favor and $12,110.00 was provisionally credited to my account on September 9th, 2012 with a note that if further “significant evidence” was found that the amount would be reapplied to my account. I called the customer service and asked what “significant evidence” would entail and how much more investigation would there be.
I asked these questions as $12,110.00 is a lot of money and with the initial letter opening the dispute claimed that the initial investigation could take up to 60 days, and by the time I received the letter stating that the charge had been reversed was 128 days, double what was quoted. I was told that it was closed and no further investigation would be completed. However, around October 1st, 2012 I received a phone call from the Phoenix office asking if someone could come down and inspect the roof and make sure that everything was taken care of. On October 6th, 2012 a gentleman came down to my house and instead of getting out a ladder to get on the roof, he pulled out some paperwork. He explained that this form was a copy of a previous form that I had signed and that the person who had the form in Atlanta “had died” and because they “had died, no one can find the paperwork that was originally signed”.
Reviewing the paperwork, I noted that the form was a Customer Service Order form and stated that the work to be completed was to fix some exposed nails, torn shingles, and repaint the metal trims and that those specific items were completed. It also states that the balance remaining was $0.00. With the suspicious circumstances surrounding this, I asked the gentleman if this had anything to do with the disputed charge. I was told that it had nothing to do with the charges and that it was only replacing a lost form. I reluctantly signed the form, the gentleman never did go on top of the roof and he left. Several weeks later, I received a letter dated October 18th, stating that the $12,110.00 has been reapplied to my account and that “Additional information has been received that provided significant evidence for the amount to be reapplied to your account.” Attached to the letter was a faxed copy of the form I signed on October 6th, 2012.
This was clearly a scam to trick me into signing a form stating that the roof had be satisfactorily completed in an attempt to defraud me of the amount that was returned to me. This is obviously a bait-and-switch, which is an illegal practice in the United States. I am writing for corrective action in returning the credit of $12,110.00 back to my account. Home Depot cheated me out of a properly installed roof, and then scammed me into paying for it after the disputed charges were dropped from my account; permanently re-credit the $12,110 back to my account, zeroing my balance.

In September 2011, we arranged to have our shingles replaced by Home Depot and, of course, paid extra to have BP Harmony lifetime warranty shingles with a wind warranty to 125km/hr. Within a few weeks of God's Roofing doing the install, we had some strong winds (not even close to 125km/hr) that tore off close to 60% of the shingles. When I contacted Home Depot, I was told that there had been an issue with 35 homes where the shingles never adhered correctly and not to worry, it would be covered by warranty. Within a few days, they sent out God's Roofing to fix our roof. Before they had even finished, I was on the phone with HD to complain about the job, as they were just slapping new shingles on top of torn up tar paper and it looked like ** with pieces sticking out all over.
I was told just to let them patch it up so that we wouldn't get any water damage. There was rain coming in and they had a lot of houses that they needed to prevent further damage to. I was told they would come back and make it right. Within a few days of the first fix, we had around 40% of the shingles blown off again. When I called back the first person I spoke with, he told me that HD would no longer be looking after it and I would need to go through my insurance. After making another call, HD sent God's Roofing back again to do another patch. This time, they would do a winter install which consisted of using more nails per shingle. This patch also only lasted a few weeks. In total, HD has patched my roof 5 times. They had sent out an independent inspector because we were still complaining that the patch jobs are not acceptable; the roof looks like ** and some of the shingles do not appear to be the same color.
When I spoke to HD again, they asked if we could wait till spring to have the roof fixed correctly. I told him that was fine but we had lost more shingles again, so they sent out a different roofing company to patch it up the 5th time. It's now the middle of June and I still have a roof that looks worse than the original roof that I replaced. It's been a game of phone tag since March with the last phone call 3 weeks ago. I finally got Mark on the phone late Friday afternoon and he told me he would call me on Monday. We would see what the weather forecast was going to be like for Tuesday and even if the weather wasn't good, he wanted to come out and see our roof for himself. I told him that would be good because we are missing more shingles again. He said, "I haven't heard of any storms recently," and I told him it only took a breeze, and that I'd left him a message a few weeks ago about it but he never returned my call.
Needless to say, three Mondays have come and gone and I have yet to get a phone call. In the meantime, I have cut up my Home Depot card. I refused to pay for the roof until it was fixed but the only thing that got me was a black mark on my credit rating. I now refuse to spend any real money at HD and any large items we need, we drive over 50 km to Revy or Lowe's instead of the 10 km to HD. I have a house that needs a renovation in every room and I'm hoping that Revy and Lowe's will appreciate my business as I have enjoyed my recent dealings with them.

I had Home Depot rep come out to give me an estimate to replace a three-bedroom rancher with attached and laundry room; also to replace two skylights. Their bid was $17,000+. A day later, I received estimates via email by two contractors who were here the previous day. Using the same GAF materials and essentially the same work to be done, their bids were $7,900 and $8400. Now, can somebody tell me why HD would be more than twice the cost?

HD upsold us to a roof that had a ridge vent and said our existing vent system did not have adequate ventilation. Upon installation, they did not cut a ridge vent in. They just placed a phony cap on the roof and covered up our existing vents, thus leaving us with no ventilation. We were unaware of the error as it looks great from the outside. After much moisture and mold issues, we hired a mold remediation specialist who told us that the roof was the problem, as did our insurance company and an engineer. HD claims no responsibility and says the mold cannot be related to the roof. Augh—11G for the roof and 5G for mold cleanup and remediation. I will never shop there again.

I hired Home Depot to put on a new roof for my house. There were multiple complications in them getting the job done, and they were several weeks late on actually getting the roof in place. They left trash in my house, did a few hours of work, left, and didn't return until the following Monday, leaving me with a trash-filled driveway. They were not prompt at all in replacing my roof, and they did not offer me anything more than a 10% discount for their extremely less-than-satisfactory performance.

The Home Depot took over 13 months to have the roofing permit finalized by The City of San Bruno, CA. I advised Cora **, the project manager in April 2010, of the permit expiration date. The roof was installed in Oct. 2009.
THD is the most incompetent business I have ever dealt with, and strongly recommend you never use their installation services, or trust them to take care of any problems. They have yet to adjust the over $3,000.00 in interest for the project, being they took over 13 months to have the permit finalized. THD suggested that I contact their contractor, and Citibank, instead of their doing their job. Do not use their services. The stress and headaches, phone calls, and waste of your precious time will suffer. They have taken now over 15 months, and have still not resolved the problem. They will, however, patronize you, and pass you on to more unlimited persons, who still will not resolve your complaint. It's as if none of their employees have any knowledge or authority for conflict resolution.
After dealing with conflict resolution to no avail, the manager of the store, Deborah **, and the project manager, Cora **, still have no answer to my request to adjust my account. I have to contact Citibank, Consumer Protection Agency FTC, the Better Business Bureau, and an attorney.

This is an update to my two previous descriptions of Home Depot's nefarious activities. As I said, I signed a contract for roofing, windows, and insulation in September of 2007. You can reference the quality of Home Depot service in my previous complaints. As of today, April 2010 I am still trying to get Home Depot off my back. I gave up on trying to get them to perform acceptable construction and paid them off in full before the total amount was due. They sent me to a collection agency, the first in my life, stating that I owed them money. Obviously, my lawyer has now taken over and Home Depot is doing its standard stonewalling. I don't understand why they are allowed to continue bilking the public. I hope more people will get an attorney and fight them to the bitter end.

I arranged for Home Depot to do my roof. I put down $3,800.00 for the down payment and on 17th March 2010, when the job was completed, I paid the balance of $3,791.00.
Yesterday (9 Apr 2010), I get this thing from Telecheck saying that "the transaction failed" on my final payment check. I have plenty of money in my account so I called everyone from the Home Depot project coordinator to the folks at this Telecheck place. I’m told by Pat at Telecheck that the computers just don’t read the numbers at the bottom of the check correctly and this is what happens. In addition, I’m told to just keep watching my bank account to see when the check clears. I’m also told that this type of thing happens all the time.
I suggest any business using these type of services to get rid of them before the business loses its customers altogether. As it stands, from this type of mess, it can cause innocent, decent folks with good credit to end up on a real legal messy side of the stick.

I purchased 100 bundles of GAF (FO196) Timberline copper canyon lifetime warranty roof shingles (brown and tan in color) at $22.50 per bundle. I sent my employees to Home Depot to pick up 100 bundles the same day of purchase. The Home Depot employees proceeded to load approximately two and a half pallets of shingles onto my trailer. Thinking that two Home Depot employees had verified what I specifically ordered and paid for, we drove off to the job site and proceeded to unload and stack materials onto roof, placing half of the load on either side of the roof to distribute weight on the roof. We began installing the roof shingles placed on one side of the roof first.
As we began to run out of bundles, we gathered some bundles placed on other side of the roof. When we opened one packet of shingles, we noticed the shingle was gray and white in color, not brown/tan. As we opened more packets, we found that all bundles laid on the side of the roof were gray and white. I contacted Home Depot about the mess up they had caused and had someone deliver a new partial batch of GAF Timberline copper canyon FO196. So we had to remove all gray and white shingle off roof and unloaded the new batch onto the roof (no easy task!). As a matter of fact, the Home Depot employee did not show up for work the following day after unloading and loading together with my employees - all those bundles of very heavy shingles.
So we began preparations to install the new batch of shingles. Remember, we already had 75% of one side of the roof installed with GAF (FO196) copper canyon roof shingles. As we began to open new bundles of shingles, we noticed the color and pattern was very, very different from the ones I had purchased and had already installed but the description on the labels read GAF Timberline copper canyon (FO196). I called Alex ** (sales clerk) at Home Depot about the situation at hand. He did not understand what was going on, neither did we! We had had to stop all operations again until we had an answer to this. We got a call from Alex ** explaining that they did not have the same tone and pattern as the one we had already installed on 75% of the roof, but did have plenty of the new batch they had delivered the second time.
We had no choice but to painfully remove the one we had installed on the 75% of roof and reinstall the new tone and pattern shingle. You can imagine me and my employees' frustration having to do all this work and time lost. We finally found out that Home Depot had changed manufacturers of shingles, but no one cared to put out a notification of the change made by Home Depot or the manufacturer. I call this negligence. I still had to wait two more days for the partial pending material from the second delivered batch because they had none available at the Nogales, AZ store. Please take note that all this happened in a span of about two weeks and in that time, not one Home Depot manager cared to call to see about the matter. It appeared to me that they did not want to face the consequences of the big problem they had in their hands nor wanted to get involved. Thank you!

How do you paint the inside of an attic? I called Home Depot again for a leak in the roof. The guy who came didn't see any problem, because it wasn't raining when he came. Currently, a large portion of the sheeting in my attic is now black with white spots. The Home Depot rep said, "Oh, this isn't good." The rep took pictures and left. After reading the other complaints, it looks like they are getting away with lots of bad work. It will be hard enough to sell this house when the time comes. We decided to put on a new roof in 2006 as the old one was almost 30 years old. We used Home Depot because of their name and figured we could trust them. Wrong! The foreman could speak English but other than the first 30 minutes of the job, he was nowhere to be found. Within 6 months, we noticed moisture in the attic because we got water stains in our bedroom. Since, HD has been called out here several times.
Each time they come out they cite another reason for the moisture: flashing around chimney (which they supposedly fixed), bathroom vent, sealer around attic door, insulation, soffits. They will not make good on this roof and now, the plywood in the attic, which was fine before the new room, is rotting and full of mold. We need help as we are not wealthy and cannot afford to put on another roof for another 15000 dollars!

Sales rep Kevin ** came to our house to give us a bid on a new roof. He sold us on the lifetime warranty. Even though his bid was higher than our other 2. We trusted the name (Home Depot). So he ran our credit and got us approved. Well we found out that not only did he lie to us about the warranty (there is no such thing as a lifetime), but he sold us the most expensive product they have (TPO), saying it is the only one they carry (they carry others we found out). To top it off, after he left, we found the warranty he left us was a 20-year for a shingle roof. We have a flat asphalt roof. Not one piece of shingle.
His supervisor Mark ** called me when I complained. He also said they only carry 1 kind of roofing product and he was unsure of the warranty. If you only deal with 1 thing at your job, don't you think you would know something about it. I was told by Mr. ** that Kevin just made a mistake. He is their #1 salesman in Las Vegas and he has never had a complaint. That this was the first time he has ever given misleading promises and left the wrong paper work for the job. How do I find out if he has had other complaints?
If I had known they would have the same warranties as the other roofers, I would have gone with one of them and I would have a new roof now. As it is about 80% of my roof is leaking, Las Vegas is having record rain and snow fall. Every time it rains, I lose more wall, insulation and ceiling due to water damage. I have to redo both bedrooms completely now instead of just a small portion.

I called home depot (HD) for a roof replacement for my 82 year old mothers mobile home in Las Vegas, NV. The salesman Nick (HD) came and promised us the world if she signed the contract. We fed him pizza and drinks. She signed the contract and that began a 30 day nightmare and thats the last time we heard from Nick. There project manager Lisa came to the mobile home for the first appointment and was a hour and 40 minutes late. She went up on the roof and tore off a bunch of shingles and exposed a pre-existing 3 foot hole and left it wide open promising roofers would come in the afternoon and they did come and tore up more shingles and threw them in the yard for my 82 year old mother to clean up and left.
Lisa(HD)complained to the roofers and they came back and covered the hole and then Lisa called the next day and informed us they all had no mobile home license as required by Nevada law. For 21 days Lisa lied to us and said every Tuesday they would take the test and they would get a temporary license that day and now I know it doesn't work like that, they have to pass the test and still have to put in a application and it takes 2 weeks just to get the temporary license and 60 days to get a permanent one.
One Tuesday they didn't show up for the test and didn't call anyone and Mark(HD)in Arizona said because someones truck and trailer was stolen and the cell phone was in the truck so no calls to anyone. I don't know if thats true but you have to call the police when that happens, don't you? I was in touch with BB at the licensing division and they have no record of (HD) or there roofers applying for anything, anytime. I called and emailed home depot Arizona over and over everyday 2 or 3 times sometimes and no matter how nice or nasty I was they never called my mother once in 27 days from signing the contract. Tricia, Summer, Shaun, Nick all(HD)managers became invisible and removed there names from the contact lists one at a time. They ignored my mother and myself. No one called my mother but called me a couple times. I finally got Mark(HD)the top manager to call my mother and by then my mother was so mad she kicked them off the job after 30 days of hell and having a hole in her roof.
They booked the job with no Nevada Mobil home license, there roofer had no license, They started work and even loaded roofing materials with no license and I told the delivery driver by phone when my mother called 7:00am that HD and his company had no right to load that roof with no license and I had to threaten to call the police and I called Lisa and only then he took them off the roof and left fast. They woke up the whole senior park. The HD manager in Las Vegas ran around looking like a tweaker 90 miles a hour and got nothing done. My extra cell phone minutes cost $106 dollars. I had to start calling them on my computer line because I was on hold so much with Arizona.
Lisa would keep me on my cell phone for 50 minutes at a time saying completely opposite sentences every 15 minutes. She offered to sell us plywood that was supposed to be $76.00 a sheet installed, at $30.00 a sheet installed and said this was between her and I and we would pay cash instead of on the(HD)charge card. 30 days later we have to start all over with roofers and still have the hole in our roof. We are in a big mess and both Senior citizens.
They tore shingles off the roof anywhere they wanted and left the big hole we still have. $106 dollars in extra cell phone minutes. We have to start all over with roofers. We are a mess. Correct roof installed later. Improperly installed eleven windows, without caulking or trim, which leaked during the same storm as the roof damage. The window leakage caused damage to a virtually new hardwood and dining room floors causing severe water damage. The flooring issue has yet to be settled. The window installation went far beyond substandard.
Gutters, wrong color and size, were installed. Correct gutters installed later. I was forced to fight on almost a daily basis, practically to the death, to get the windows properly installed and the correct gutters installed. The stress became so signifiant that I was unable to sleep night after night after night for months because I could not get the issues resolved with Home Depot. Beware of THD At-Home Services. We own a 106 year old 3300 square foot craftsman bungalow home. We bought the home 1 year ago and we were in the market for a new roof. On April 5, 2008 Mr. Jon Rob? Young a sales consultant for THD At-Home Services came to our home to measure our roof and give us an estimate for the roofing. After taking detailed measurements and sketching out our roof he stated that this was the largest residential roof he had ever had to give an estimate for. We discussed the options and decided since The Home Depot was a nationally know name and with Mr. Youngs assurances of professional installers, supervision of the job by a project manager, and thinking that we would have the promised peace of mind guarantee we signed a contract.
Mr. Ted Gibson, our project manager, informed us that work would begin the morning of Thursday, April 24,2008. The installation team arrived at our home that morning. They spoke little, if any, English and Mr. Gibson was no where to be seen. They did work hard that day removing the old shingles. When they left that evening we had no idea what time they would arrive the next morning. Friday morning the installation team arrived sometime after 9:00 am and began roofing. Again, Mr. Gibson the project manager does not make an appearance that day either. During the third day of installation, Saturday, April 26, 2008 the installation team sawed off a cast iron sewer vent pipe from our roof and shingled over the hole. We found the pipe laying in our yard. When questioned as to why they would do this. We were told it was on their written orders from Mr. Gibson. They then said they would put the pipe back , which they did we later discovered by just sitting it on top of our roof!
We contacted Mr. Gibson, who told us to hire a plumber to fix the pipe and that THD would cover the cost. On Monday, April 28,2008 we had a plumber fix the pipe. The installation team then came back to our home to re- shingle that area. As we watched, they started attaching shingles directly to the wood without installing any roofing felt underneath. When we questioned this we were told it was a small area and didnt need felt. We insisted, and they had to go to a local hardware store to buy some.
On Wednesday April 30,2008 Mr. Gibson came to our home to fix some screens in replacement windows that THD had done for us and to inspect the roof. He noticed some shingles that had tar on them and told us that the installation team would be back to fix them. On Saturday morning May 3, 2008 they replaced those shingles. Yesterday, Monday May 5, 2008 it rained for the 1st time since the roof had been installed. We now have leaks where we never had leaks before. The installation team cut into our stucco chimneys (we have 4). Water was running down the outside of at least one of them . We also have 2 leaks in our attic, that we can see. Some of our attic space is not accessible, so there might be more.
I have talked to Mr. JP Brumby, the branch manager for the Carolinas, and Mr. Jeff Putnam ,installation manager, about all of these problems, and so far all Im getting is empty promises. We paid over $19,000 for this new roof and used The Home Depot because of their guarantees of customer satisfaction and quality craftsmanship. What a crock! Someone please help!
I have had to take off many hours of work to deal with this fiasco. Now with the roof leaking, we don't know if our plaster ceilings and walls will sustain damage. We have not received a bill yet for the pipe replacement from the plummers, so we don't know if THD will honor its promise to pay that or not.

Home Depot came with installer who applied caulking on portion of metal flashing. 02/05 more leaks oven kitchen. This time Branch Manager came and determined that leak was due to cracks in stucco and overflowing water on side wall. Had stucco repaired, gutter added to divert water from wall, had air vents replaced.
Winter of 05 and 06 little rain. Did not notice water damage. Winter 07, noticed water spots in new drywall in kitchen area, breakfast nook ceiling (blister), cracks in new drywall in piano room, stain and joint separation of new crown molding in dining room area, blister in Master Bath ceiling. Contacted Home Depot again and this time it was wind driven rain through new air vents.
01/08 had plastic tarp over all vents. Still more water. Master Bath ceiling was not only soaked but sagging with blisters. Home Depot blamed air vents again without investigating attic or roof, not knowing that we had them sealed with plastic. Then they blamed poor seal around vents. Our own investigation in attic revealed a soaked roof deck in 2 area, master bath and piano room. This time Home Depot had no choice but acknowledging that water penetration was due to roof but would only agree to repair metal flashing above master bath. Home Depot is blaming cracks in drywall to poor drywall workmanship. They clearly refuse to link the previous collapsed ceiling in 04 with the water damage of 08.
Now that weather is dryer, noticing new cracks in drywall ceilings, bulging walls, mildew smell in attic and perhaps dry rot in ceiling joist. We are constantly re-addressing drywall issues. Roof cost about $19.000,00 and have disbursed about $10,000 out of pocket to fix collapsed ceiling, remove insulation, new vents, gutters, stucco repairs, elastomeric paint etc... So far home depot has not paid a dime since they would not even take responsibility.

Since it has been such a long time since the roof was installed, I was told by a manager at my local Home Depot that the roof will most likely not match. If that's not enough, my roof started to leak late last week, and Home Depot still hasn't sent anyone out to fix it. As a result of the leak, my new Pioneer plasma television is ruined, and my knotty pine ceiling has several water stains at the leak location. I have found the local home services group in the SF bay area to be very unresponsive, and they have refused to escalate my complaints beyond their office. As a result, I have asked Home Depot to come remove my roof, refund my credit card, and allow me to get it installed correctly, with full inspections, by another company.
So far, they have refused to work with me at all, and seem conspicuously intent on keeping this issue within their office, and not giving me any contact information to allow me to escalate. In all of my years as a Home Depot customer, I have never seen this level of incompetence from an installation team. We tell our story to any one we can to prevent others from such an experience.

Home Depot replaced our roof in Aug. 2006. We have agreed to have our roof replaced through Home Depot cause they assured us that replacing our roof could fix the leaking problem that we have in our porch area in our house. They came out to our home and did some caulking repairs but that didn't help at all cause we still have leaks if we have rain. We are waiting for them to solve this problem once and for all .

On 12-12-05, I contracted with Home Depot At-Home Services to repair my roof. I was told that the roof would be completed by the middle of March, 06 (within 20 weeks of the date of the contract). On 3-6-06 my Home Depot charge account was charged $5,719 and the work on the roof has not begun.

I contracted Home Depot for a tile roof in July of 2005, and gave a deposit, and was assured by my salesman that the roof tiles were in stock, and that my roof would be installed at THE LATEST in 12 - 16 weeks.
If I had any leaks, (which I did) they would dry in the roof right away. They sent an inspector, who saw how bad the leaks were, and said they would be drying in my roof asap. My building permit has been open since October.
Not one thing has been done since I signed the contract. I am still waiting, it is now 2/14/06!!! I cannot get any answers from Home Depot, all dates I have been given have come and gone, there is no one to answer your call, no return phone call, no help.
I have threatened to cancel, been assured I would get it shortly, get a new date, then STILL nothing. They delivered the tile, mostly broken a month ago, left it in front on my house, and I had to pay someone $300.00 to move it to the back of my house so it is not stolen.

Without any call to tell us that the materials would be delivered the roofing supplier showed up at 8 am one morning. In the course of delivering the materials to our roof they managed to crack our living room ceiling. Later that day, in a few hour lull in a forecasted 5 day rainstorm, the roofing subcontractors showed up and started to remove the old roofing. Again we were not informed. By 5pm the next evening we had water coming in through two places.
Despite calls to our salesperson (who never returned the calls), our "install manager" and a Home Depot store - who said that they were not affiliated with At Home Services despite the fact my husband met the sales person at their store, it took almost 3 hours to get someone out to fix the tarping. The store was the most helpful as they were able to get the regional manager for AHS to call us and he got people moving. There was damage to our master bedroom ceiling and wall. We were told to get an estimate, submit it to Home Depot and we would be reimbursed. This was suppose to happen for both areas of damage but the suppliers contracted directly for their repair.
I sent the estimate and never heard back. The day before the repair was suppose to happen, and almost two months after the damage had occurred and after another call to the regional manager, I find out that they are going to file a claim with their insurance who will contact us about how to proceed to get our money back and that they need to have an assessor come out and see the damage. I told them that the repair was scheduled for the next day and I was not changing it and if he needed to see it, he needed to come that day. They said pictures would be fine.
I used 4 days of my vacation to be home for the various repairs. Home Depot's insurance files a claim with the subcontractor's insurance who is suppose to pay us. We don't even know the name of the subcontractor and we do not have a contract with them but with Home Depot. I have not heard from either insurance company in at least two weeks and Home Depot is claiming the job is done...despite my more recent discovery of a leak around our chimney and a message left 10 days ago about that. We were also promised quality control and an inspection afterwards and a install manager who would be there to help us.

On 11/26/05 my wife and I had a Home Depot saleswoman come to our home to give us an estimate on a new roof which was needed due to hurricane damage. She stressed that Home Depot did not use contractors and that their workers were their employees. She also stressed that their workers were covered in case they were injured on the job while on my property.
She admitted that Home Depot would cost us more but we were getting a "peace of mind" warranty by going with Home Depot (which was another lie). The warranty was only good if the hurricane speeds were under the shingle wind speed rating). She stressed that Home Depot is not like a small "mom and pop" operation that could go out of business overnight. She stated that Home Depot had a huge warehouse with more than enough shingles to complete their orders. After her sales pitch was over we agreed to go with Home Depot due to the "peace of mind" warranty she mentioned and due to the long waiting lists with all other roofers in our area due to hurricane damage. After obtaining the price from the saleswoman I called my insurance adjuster and he said that Home Depot was 100 per square "over" the market price due to Home Depot including their "peace of mind" warranty in their price.
After specifically requesting 110 mph shingles we signed on the dotted line. I asked the saleswoman for an itemized bill and she said it was Home Depot's policy not to give itemized bills. Before the saleswoman left I requested a 24 hr notice prior to delivering our shingles. After returning home on 1/4/06 I found my new shingles stacked up in my driveway. After calling Home Depot on 1/4/06 to request the shingles be relocated to my garage for safe keeping I noticed the wind speed on the shingle packaging was "80 mph" and not "110 mph". After making the discovery on 1/4/06 I immediately called the salesperson to make her aware of the problem. She directed me to her sales manager. The sales manager stated that 110 mph shingles were not available and that they would cost more money. Between the day the incorrect shingles were delived up to today's date we have been told that Home Depot does not know when the 110 mph shingles will be available, therefore, they are unable give us a new estimate.
Since I paid the 25% deposit by way of my Home Depot card they have already debited my Home Depot charge account and I am still in possession of the 80 mph shingles which I am unable to use. Even though my roof is not complete yet I am unhappy with the sales tactics used by Home Depot's salespeople and the poor customer service. I have been told that I would be called back on several occassions and almost each time I have had to call back to get any information.

In April of 2002 I had a roof installed by Home Depot. The subcontactor was J & K Roofing. In September of 2005 I called to notify them that my roof was leaking. It took several days to receive a call back from the project coordinator. I was informed that the project manager had to call me to inspect the problem. After going back and forth with phone calls and hassles, a completely different company came out to look at the problem. They supposedly made repairs.
All of this finally happened the week before Hurricane Wilma came through Florida. Now my roof still leaks and even more than before, resulting in my ceiling collapsing, and many other leaks throughout the house. Now Home Depot wants to blame the damage on the storm, (keep in mind I had problems before the storm even came in.)
I have gotten the run around from all involved, no call backs, no results. I finally got the project manager to call me back and he came out to look at the problem. By this time I had removed the collapsed ceiling, which revealed many holes in the wood, like a hammer went through it. He came and took pictures and said he had to go back to his boss for a final decision. Well several days have past and still no call back.
This roof is under warranty for 5 years, and is less than 4 years old. In no way could the hurricane cause this damage. I did not lose one shingle or have anything hit the roof. I am extremely frustrated with the situation, because I cannot do any ceiling repair until the roof problem is taken care of.
To date I have received no indication that they are going to fix the roof. They do not stand by their work.
