    Claims HandlingTechRefunds & Payouts

    Reviewed May 7, 2025

April 23, 2024 I purchased a warranty from Elite Home warranty for my retirement house I purchased in Brandon, Mississippi (this is not a rural area). It was $850 with the pool equipment and high end appliance plans included. In August, I had a claim for a clogged toilet and paid my copay, they couldn't find any plumbers who would work with them - so I got my $70 copay refund and I fixed it myself. I thought is was a fluke that they couldn't find anyone, maybe everyone was on vacation. Fast forward to April of 2025 the pool heater went out and I called in this claim and paid $150 copay for them to send someone out to fix it. And again they couldn't find anyone in our area that would work with them. They refunded my $150 copay. At this time I figure it out - they have sold me a worthless policy that they have no contractors lined up with to ever come to my house and provide services.

I asked for all of my $850 back, as it is fraud to sell services you cannot provide. I have talked to 3 people trying to get my $850 back and the last gal said she is the top of the line - that anyone above her is management and they won't talk to me. She said if I had asked for my money back earlier they could have given me a prorated refund - but since my policy expires May 29th they will give me nothing. I reminded her that this is fraudulent business practices to take people's money and then not have the ability to offer the services that the customer paid for. She said they will not refund my money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES.

Do not use this company, they take the money and don't render service (they simply subcontract other companies and then tell you that the item is not covered under warranty). It happened to me already and also in another instance they made me wait on one appointment, and no one showed up. When I called they said that they would investigate but no one did anything or called me back, just a different supervisor every time I ask for one.

Like someone else noted they are just a bunch of kids answering the phone. And every time there is someone new answering the phone (many people there leave because they realize what's going with that company). When I realized how bad they were, I asked for a refund because of their unavailability to render decent service, and they would not refund me, even if I had not used their service once because they bailed on me. I filed a complaint also with the BBB against this company. Do you research and see how many bad reviews are out there for this company and don't believe what they advertise that they have no negative reviews.

Elite Home Warranty gave me the runaround about my reimbursement check. It's been 60 days, and I've yet to receive it. I've been told things like the check is sitting at billing, billing will send it this week, the check was sent but since you haven't received it we have to issue another. All lies.

I put in my claim about 2 months ago with Daquan **. He then didn't not return my calls, texts, or emails. It was then transferred to Kyle ** who was then assigned to my case. After weeks of not getting back to me, I had to have the pool pump replaced because no one was getting back to me. I then tried to get reimbursement and because of their own delay on purpose, then aren't willing to pay for it. This is their tactic, delay, ignore, delay. I am an attorney and plan on filing this lawsuit in arbitration. I would like witnesses to this practice if you have had the same issues, please contact me. Now when I call, they just block my phone number and hang up. Also, if you want to know why they have high ratings. Here is a provision in their contract. I contacted the number below and it rang for 17 minutes and then took me to a voicemail. Another SCAM. BEWARE,

Refrigerator Repair - Included Compressor on their coverage list. They charge you $75 to have someone diagnose the repair but then make the excuse that the Compressor is part of the sealed system. Also says Leaks of any kind. Tech never even checked compression or for leaks in the compressor. No OIL coming out anywhere of the compressor. DO NOT SIGN UP, DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE ANY FEES! They totally contradict themselves to not pay up or repair anything.

On 11 Feb 2025 I received an email from Makeda Goodrich stating Since my necessary part for my repair is no longer available, will offer me a buyout of 50% of the maximum coverage, as outlined in my policy. This amounts to $1,000. After deducting the $275.22 already spent on the repair, they stated my total buyout amount is $724.78. On 13 Feb 2025 I replied to the terms. Makeda emailed me back the same day saying a check would be mailed to me in 30 business days. Today is 19 April 2025 and I have not received the check. I've sent an email to Makeda and to this day no reply.

No one moves with a sense of urgency. The customer service and follow up is piss poor. You have to constantly keep calling them and reminding them to do their job. Each agent that you speak to you have to tell your story over and over as if there is no notes saved from the last person. Their website mentions that they are reliable. They are definitely reliable with delaying your claims process. And you can forget about communicating with someone once your claim is filed. I made a very bad decision when I chose this business. It's even more irritating when they say they are sorry thinking it will everything all better.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I signed up for Elite Home Warranty in September 2024, believing their promises of comprehensive coverage for all my appliances, regardless of age. The sales rep sold me on their "top-rated" BBB status, claiming they were better than all other home warranty companies. Based on these claims, I forked out $2,300 for a 3-year contract.

The reality couldn’t have been more different. When I received my 31-page contract, I was shocked to find that the first few pages 1-3 were filled with useless ads, like a free home security system, etc. pages 5-7 was the agreement and in large bold max payout per year for each appliance. And the rest of the "service agreement" was buried in fine print on pages 8–31. What’s worse, the large, bold coverage terms they advertised were intentionally misleading. I never expected to be hit with so many hidden exclusions buried in fine print.

In March 2025, when my water heater broke, I called them expecting to be covered up to $2,000, as promised. I paid the $70 service fee, thinking the rest would be handled. A plumber came out, determined the heater was unrepairable, and submitted a $1,850 quote for a replacement. After waiting hours, I was told Elite would approve only $750—completely contrary to what was clearly stated in the contract.

When I questioned this, the representative told me to refer to page 26 of the contract, where it states that water heaters over 10 years old are only covered for $750. This was never explained during the sales process, and the contract buried this crucial information deep in the fine print. It’s clear that Elite Home Warranty intentionally misleads customers into thinking they’re covered for major repairs, only to hit them with drastic payout limits when the time comes.

Elite is nothing but a scam! They will lure you in with empty promises, then leave you high and dry with small payouts and countless exclusions. They don’t care about their customers—they care about collecting your money. I’m stuck with them for two more years, but I’m done trusting anything they say. I wouldn’t recommend Elite Home Warranty to my worst enemy. The sales representatives are dishonest, deceptive, and clearly have no interest in delivering on their promises. If you value your time and money, stay far, far away from this company!

I did buy a warranty for two houses, I had one issue with my sink maybe 6 months later, they did not want to cover. I did call like 10 times in the last three months to cancel and they don't do it, still charging my bank, I had to open a claim with my bank to stop them.

I have had three home warranties in my life: Choice Home Warranty, Global Home Warranty, and Elite. Elite is by far the worst we have had. They take literally FOREVER to get a technician out and then another FOREVER to give an answer which 90% of the time is NO. I originally bought 2 years of warranty from Elite and have already canceled year 2.... I will suffer through year one because I can't cancel.... but don't be fooled by the A rating and 5 star review on their site. Terrible!

I've had a few of these Home Warranty companies due to moving several times in the last 15 years, this one is the worst. It really is a scam. The others can be a bit shady, but this one is a total scam. There are only a couple people handling the calls and I have spoken to them all. They put you on hold and hang up on you. That's what they excel in doing. You can't even log in to your account on the website, because the website is just a page that's used to sell their scam. If you try to make a claim, they deny it almost immediately. I canceled last week, and they couldn't refund any of the premiums I paid. Then I get a message from Elite to renew my account for a discount. When I call, they tell me my account is still active, so I don't qualify for a discount to renew. So, I try to start a claim, and they tell me my account has been canceled. Same person on the same call. Basically, all Elite Home Warranty can do is take your money.
