My vc failed to charge after 1 yr I bought it. I called cs and they said they will send a new battery pack. I followed up after a week. They said they will send it out later. I also wrote an email to check the status. Then they replied saying it is in back order and don't know when the stock will be in and delivery date. I asked them to provide expedited delivery due to prolonged waiting. Cs said they don't have such service.

It is Xmas time. I have no vc to clean my place for 2 weeks and even during xmas. I will have guests to visit. I probably won't be able to clean until 2017. If the quality of this product is good, why the battery pack will be in back order? Why would you pay a premium price for such a poor quality product and customer service? Please save your money and buy anything cheaper. Even if it breaks down, you can just buy a new one without dealing with such a useless cs.

I bought the stick vacuum a couple of years ago and it seems only staying one for l essential than a minute and progressively getting worse. I paid over $400.00 for this and should be one of the best. Extremely disappointed. Talked to three other people about their some and are complaining about the same thing plus it hardly picks up. I also purchased the canister Dyson, and am so disappointed in that also. It won't pick up hardly anything. When you pay that much for a product, it should work perfectly. Will never or recommend another one. Dyson should make this right!!!

So I decided to spoil myself this Christmas and get myself a Dyson V6 absolute vacuum. Thing looks awesome worked great for a day very pretty item. Here's what happened… So on day two of actually having the vacuum I go to use it and there's a little HEPA filter on the back that falls off what hits the floor there's some gray plastic that hits the floor with some purple plastic which is the piece that actually fell off and I called up Dyson to see what we do about getting a new motor unit sent out to me.

I explain the situation and Anita was pretty rude to me talking over the top of me not listening to what I was trying to explain and then as I'm explaining something she put me on hold without even asking me while I was in mid sentence. Now I will say from the beginning I was aggravated and angry when she explained what they want to do. But I didn't curse and I was his plight as I could be in an aggravated mode. I've never experience this type of behavior from the call center. Having worked in IT trust me I know this is not the norm.

So they suggest that I put the broken piece and the motor unit drive it two towns away to a UPS store that they have a contract with so they can ship my unit to Paramus New Jersey in order for them to fix it and send it back to me. Now mind you I just paid for a brand new $500 vacuum that they want to refurbish and send back to me. It's three days old. So I would not have a vacuum for at least one week and in the end I paid $500 for a refurbished vacuum. So obviously I do the smart thing to do I threw it all back in a box and I sending it back as an return instead of trying to do a fix.

I was so outraged at their proposed fix. You would think having purchased the most advanced expensive vacuum on the market that they would say "I am so sorry sir we're gonna send you out a new motor with the HEPA filter when overnight. When you receive the package please put your old unit back in there and send it back via our prepaid label." That is what customer support should do. It's what my customer support customer support what I would do in my business.

So now I'm stuck with the dilemma of actually getting a shark vacuum or purchasing another Dyson after having such a bad taste in my mouth I don't know that I'm going to go back to Dyson.

I know a few people have recommended the sharks and I had one in the past and I think I'll go back to it. It is just a shame that someone making the most expensive, highest marked up product, it is more about the name like apple then actually having a great product. You would think with all the hype and the high price in the vacuum market has such poor customer service it's a sad joke. I'll get off my soapbox now.

My wife made the mistake of purchasing a Dyson vacuum, thinking it was a good product, due to the price you pay. What a mistake to believe that because you pay a lot, you think you're getting a good, well designed product. We have had nothing but problems with it clogging up, taking it apart and trying to unclog it. Which is VERY time consuming and frustrating, because it is so difficult to get to the clogs and get back together. Not satisfied with this product.

I purchased the above machine directly from Dyson on the 17 November to replace our small Hoover. It arrived a week or so later but proved to be quite useless. It couldn't even pick up tiny stones from underneath our shoes, something our old and fading Hoover could do easily. Disappointed, I went onto their website and went through the various steps suggested to clear any obstructions but did not find anything. I got my son to check my assembly for any problems but he was satisfied I had done it correctly.

I saw from the guarantee that I could return the machine for a refund within 30 days of my purchase providing I still had the box which, fortunately, I kept. But here comes the problem - it's impossible to contact anyone at Dyson to get the required permission to return and their return address. I cannot find any contact email address and the phone numbers are unanswered. Like other complainants I am put on hold with a message telling me endlessly that due to unusually high call volume etc. I sincerely wish I had consulted Consumer Affairs before I made this purchase.

This product turned out to be the world's most expensive Dirt Devil. I spent about $400.00 on a machine that died within 2 years and was so weak that it couldn't even vacuum up baking soda on its final day. I purchased my Dyson Animal Ball Upright from Best Buy in December 2014. The claim that Dyson never loses suction is laughable at best. In fact, the suction was so poor that I clogged up every time I used it. I had to take it apart down to the filter and clean it out every time I ran it through a 10x10 low pile carpeted room. I have a 50/50 hardwood and carpet mix in my house. Additionally, my 2 dogs have short hair, but they shed a fair amount. The vacuum was so weak that it was easier to sweep the hardwood because the vacuum just pushed debris around the floor.

Additionally, the canister filled up very quickly. My home is 1400 square feet, but I had to empty the vacuum 3 times while using it to tackle the entire house in 1 pass. The cord is extremely short and poorly placed. In order to use the hose you need to remove the cord. The hose is also short and poorly built. Our house is small, but this machine's hose couldn't reach the 10 ft to the top of the staircase. You're better off saving your money for a quality vacuum, but if you absolutely don't have it, just get the Dirt Devil instead. It's going to give you the same terrible performance either way. If you're wondering, I replaced the Dyson with a Simplicity upright vacuum.

My experience with Dyson has been very good, excellent really, for many years. I purchased a DC25 multi-floor about four years ago. And after reading several negative reviews, I really had to speak up and address some of the issues. I too felt the product was a bit 'flimsy,' when it first arrived. But as a technology professional, I made the effort to embrace the device and understand it thoroughly. The soft plastic is a design choice, and a good one. It is not brittle like other hard plastics. The parts that need to be flexible and forgiving of abuse are a little softer.

"Bin too small:" If you vacuum regularly there is little in the bin. If you neglect your floors there will be lots of stuff to pull up. Carpet is supposed to be vacuumed daily. Who does that? Bin difficult to use. I found that if I try to 'man-handle' and force the bin, it will just not snap into place. Calming down and being gentle, it clicks in with zero-effort.

Same thing with the red bar to release from the upright position. Being gentle and calm, works fine. Getting angry with it does not work. Touch the bar with a toe releases the handle. Pulling the handle to the upright position and another gentle tap with a toe locks into place. Easy. My only complaint is the wand hose. The suction is so strong the hose fights to retract itself! It is difficult to stretch the hose to max length with the motor running. Certainly not the worst problem to have. My vacuum is now about four years old. I still love it, absolutely nothing to complain about, really.

After going through many innovative vacuum cleaners over fifty years we chose Dyson when the revolutionary DC1 came out in the eighties and have been totally satisfied with the marque ever since, leading up to our latest wonderful experience. We bought our latest DC25 three years ago, and are very pleased with it, but last week we noticed the brush wouldn't rotate. Thinking it was out of warranty & was probably a worn drive belt I bought a new belt off eBay, but it made no difference, it worked fine with no load but put it to work on carpet & it stopped.

So I rang Dyson Customer Support, talked it through with a nice lady who checked my record, and she concluded the drive motor was just not performing. She ordered me a new complete head, including the bottom housing, brush & drive motor. It just clicks off & the new one clicks on. It arrived two days later, I changed it in thirty seconds & hey presto, good as new. Customer Service was AA11+++, and it confirmed our loyalty was well rewarded.

Crummy. Owned my Dyson for about three years. Worked OK the first few times, then, not so much. Easily clogged (no pets, but long hair). Wouldn't even pick up a CANDY WRAPPER (small little corner piece) - ended up having to pick up any odd little bit of detritus before I even vacuumed, this thing simply wouldn't pick anything but dust and lint up. The hose attachment part NEVER WORKED. You shouldn't have to pick up detritus by hand before you vacuum and you shouldn't have to take the thing apart every other time. Not worth the hype or high price tag. Just ordered an Electrolux. Very plastic-y and cheap feeling, like has been stated.

I ended up purchasing this model the day my mom's Kenmore canister vac died on us. (We had carpet fresh sprinkled all thru the house and guests were on their way over). A relative told me how "great" this model is and having a dog I thought I'd give it a shot. It was fine for the first several months, then it would make a horrible sound and no suction. Did internet search to locate a fix and ended up calling Dyson cust. service. Very helpful but was talked thru many steps on taking the vacuum apart, clean out areas that needed to be disconnected which are hard to access (and I do have small hands) and a few hours later it was back up and running.

A few months later again with the horrible noise, no suction... Performed all the steps the Cust. Service rep told me months earlier and it did not help. Called Dyson, explained my plight, was told to try a few other things, and that worked. Every few months it is something where I have to stop what I am doing and disassemble it to try and figure out what is clogged or why it is not working. This past July it made a really loud sound and stopped picking up anything. It seems that the air was blowing out the side of the triggerhead instead of sucking up. Once again, took the whole thing apart. There was a slight little clog in 'that' area that is hard to access, put it all together, turned it on and still not fixed.

After mumbling to myself about how much money I wasted on this horrible piece of plastic I called Dyson Cust. Service. Once again explained everything... I even went thru disconnecting sections of the vacuum while on the phone with the woman and nothing worked. Since it is still under warranty she recommended I take it into an authorized service center. The closest repair center is 18 miles away from where I live. The repair was covered and I figured while I was there I would have them also give the machine a good cleaning which I paid for.

So here it is a little over 3 months since the Authorized Repair and machine being cleaned and 3 days ago it has lost all suction again. (Insert baffled smiley face) I took the whole thing apart, there were no clogs anywhere to be found, put it back together and still it is not working. I am so mad at myself for not going to Sears and getting another Kenmore like my mom initially had. She loved that thing and it lasted forever, never had one issue with it. I unfortunately have misplaced the receipt and Bed, Bath & Beyond can only pull receipts up to 1 year back. I do have my credit card statement showing the charge, not sure if there is anything that can be done or not. I am at a loss at this point.

This is not worth the money. I like the concept of the auto adjusting height but the little roller on the head that determines the height gets pet hair and carpet threads wrapped up on it. It can not be removed to clean. It stops rotating and then wears. The entire vacuum head has to be replace. I don't remember the cost to replace this but it was between 60 - 90 dollars. There is no latch to release the handle which also sounds like a good idea, but it is hard to get the handle to catch in the upright position so you can use the hose attachments. Parts are cheap plastic, the red latch to empty the canister where the dirt collects has broken. Wish I have never purchased this.

I have an old DC08 Animal and it is a good job I kept it!!! I purchased the DC54 to replace the DC08 as it was looking a little battered and I was tired of washing out the sponge filters and drying them after. I settled on the DC54 because it was cool-looking and no filters. And because it was a Dyson, I assumed it would be great; WRONG!!! Admittedly we have dogs and tile floors all over, so there needs to be a considerable amount of hoovering up to keep the place presentable, but this machine simply is not up to the job!!! It is useless. The suction is weaker than the DC08 and the dustbin has to be changed before I finish hoovering up the living room.

There is no room in it because of the huge permanent filter in the centre and dog hair gets stuck in it too. The dustbin is difficult to remove from the machine and instead of the top coming off like the old model, a button must be pressed whereby a couple of red plastic sticks then force the bottom open like a flap. If everything doesn't drop out; which it won't, believe me; you are meant to turn it over and dig it all out with the plastic stick Mr Dyson has provided you with. All this for only £320.

I always thought the bagless idea was great, even though the attachments and handles, etc. were overdesigned and gimmicky. It now appears that the whole machine has become a gimmick. The only thing I can say positive is that it might look good in the next sequel in the ALIEN film series. Perhaps they could leave it lying in the hallway on the spaceship for effect, kind of the way I currently use mine. It is hopeless for anything else. Don't do it. Over-hyped and under performing.

It is stiff and keeps retracting. It is so difficult to use that I rarely use it, which is one of the reasons I purchased it. It worked less well the second year. The on/off switch quit working. My husband took the cover off and we were able to use it by pressing down on the on/off buttons directly without the cover. Then the carpet/wood floor toggle quit working. Then it quit sucking altogether.

We called Dyson customer service. "No problem!" they claim. They gave us a reference number and told us to take it to our nearest UPS. A few hours later, we did. UPS said our claim wasn't in the system yet and they would send it when it was. UPS said they get Dyson for repairs often and it takes at least several days or longer for the claims to get in the system.

We waited three days, then returned to UPS for a receipt. UPS said our claim still wasn't in the system. I emailed Dyson. They said it was in the system, and did I not give them my reference number, and that UPS didn't put in the proper code. Of course I gave UPS the reference number. We called Dyson customer service. They kept us on hold while they called the UPS office where our vacuum was. The customer service rep said they just talked to UPS and everything was done, the claim handled.

We went the next day to pick up the receipt. Our vacuum was still sitting at UPS. The UPS clerk said (1) they never received a call the day before from Dyson, (2) of course they put in the proper code, (3) our claim was not going through. I was beginning to doubt who was telling the truth. We called Dyson again. Again they called UPS while we were on hold and told us the same thing--everything was handled and our vacuum cleaner had been shipped. We went back to UPS to pick up the receipt. Yes, Dyson did call the second time they claimed to have called. UPS rep said that the UPS system was not working, and that they had to enter the claim on their system manually. The rep said she wrote down the Dyson rep's name, time and date to verify that that this was not UPS' fault. UPS said this is the norm when dealing with Dyson.

I made such a fuss about wanting a Dyson DC25 Animal that my husband was willing to do whatever it took to surprise me Xmas morning... He made down payment and signed the contract to purchase it NEW AND IN THE ORIGINAL BOX from a local rent-to-own company. Xmas excitement passed and I realized that we'd pay a total of $1708. for this vacuum. After some thought, decided that you get what you pay for... Since was the only way we could afford to get such quality as Dyson, we had to be willing to pay the extra finance charges and other related fees. $1708 was acceptable since we would then own a great vacuum. WHAT A ** JOKE!!! If only I had known. I do not recommend this product to anyone. In fact, I tell everyone who will listen that Dyson is not what they claim to be and don't waste their money.

The vacuum came with a 5 yr warranty and it's a good thing b/c it broke down TWICE in the first year and a half. Each of those repairs were very expensive (first time $170, second time was over $350). Both were covered by warranty and done with no money out-of-pocket but the 2nd repair took nearly 60 days before the vacuum was ready for pick up. At that point, I began to realize that I'd be fortunate if the vacuum made it through 5 yrs but I shouldn't expect much more than that. So disappointed.

Never would've paid so much for this vacuum which is of quite average quality. Maybe even less than average. My grandmother purchased a Shark Navigator for approx $200 within a month or so of when I got my Dyson and has never had a problem. I borrowed hers while mine was in for repairs and found that it works just as well (it was slightly heavier I thought but not a huge difference). When you consider the difference in price, Dyson should be ashamed. I'll never buy Dyson again.

Dyson DC17 was a great vacuum for me until it needed a seal for the canister. You have to dumped the canister when it is full and my husband did just that. Only problem was he also dumped the seal at the bottom of the cyclone. A 4" round by 1 1/4" wide. I tried to purchase the part, approximately $8.00 and was told I would have to purchase the entire cyclone for $100. They do not just sell the rubber seal. I will be looking for another vacuum. I am so upset at my Dyson Vacuum and their customer service. Do not buy any Dyson product. I bought a cordless Dyson vacuum and it was a piece of garbage ever since I took it out of the box. The problem with the cordless vacuum is that it gets clogged easily due to the lack of suction, AND after about 3 months, the motor just shuts off when you're trying to vacuum. I have had nothing but trouble with my Dyson, and when I call their customer service, it is a joke. After I do everything the "Support Crew" tells me to do, then they don't believe me and ask me to do it again. They treated me like an idiot AND my Dyson still doesn't work. How about you just admitting that you have a bad design and I am a sucker for buying it? Don't be like me... go with another brand, and better customer service!

Sad to say trashing my Dyson. I have owned many vacuum cleaners over the years, mainly bag type. I was excited to own such an expensive vacuum cleaner, no more buying bags. What a disappointment. I took great care maintaining cleaning filters. I vacuum often and started dreading the task, my motor shuts down from overheating, back flash is terrible. Going back to the bags, much easier and cleaner. My Dyson was about four years old, honestly like to beat it with a bat for all the extra work it has caused me.

So Thursday rolls around and I still had no tracking number. I call and I was told the vacuum had not been shipped and it was shipping standard! So I asked to speak to a supervisor. They keep me on hold for almost 20 minutes and come back and say that no one is available to talk to me. They tell me however a supervisor will call me back by this afternoon.

So afternoon comes. No call. I call back again. They said a note was never left for a supervisor to call me back. They put me on hold... again. This time for over 20 minutes and they say again that a supervisor is not available. Overall I have spoken to several people from Dyson and NONE of them have any idea what is going on. Promptly contacted Dyson support, first by phone and was about 36 in call order, so message said I could leave my number and they would call. Waited a few days, no call (didn't realize the scam). Called again, this time over 60 calls ahead of me, so left my number again and waited a few days but no response (an awful lot of calls, right?). So, tried emailing and got a prompt response asking for more info. I responded with requested info but received no further response.

I waited a few days (by the way I was also trying to hold down a job) and sent another updated email with all relevant info. I received a response but Dyson could not retrieve any prior phone or email interactions (very convenient memory loss but my phone had the encounters). So, they claimed the unit was out of warranty and by then it was but only because of their incompetent support system (surely they wouldn't try to deny I had contacted them earlier...oh yes they would!). Thus, Dyson is crooked in that way and I will not do business with them again. All about retaining your money and not customer support!

It is difficult to clear out the cup, and the device gets clogged very easily if you vacuum up fine dirt. I have taken it apart to clean so many times and in the process get my hands and clothes and floors absolutely filthy. The door to the cup will not stay closed and suction is very poor. I even have noticed slight shocks coming from the handle when I operate it. The company does nothing to compensate, insisting there's something wrong with ME not their machine. I paid with tax nearly $600.00 for this over-the-top engineered sweeper. It quit working after 35 days. The mechanism to operate the brush attachment no longer turned. My wife called Dyson; they walked her through a trouble shooting period and nothing would correct the problem. They then told her to either call Best Buy where we bought it or take it to a recommended repair store. If I had wanted a repaired machine I would have purchased used. My wife called Best Buy and they told her that she would have to go back to Dyson. The monkey-in-the-middle program. I made a brief entrance and only because I am an elite member with Best Buy they exchanged the product even though it was beyond the 30 day max for that to happen.

Forget casually vacuuming under a bed or couch, unless you have ten minutes spare to unclog it, with a selection of coins, sticks, tools you would not normally carry in your pocket. Customer service recommended carrying a specific screwdriver to dismantle the inlet duct hose every single time something gets stuck in it (that's often). My advice - What you need is a plastic sealing strip from a large paint tin to thread through the inlet duct hose. I'm on my third trigger head in just - on two years. Things get stuck in this section multiple times, every use too. A nutri-grain is too big. (I just don't buy them anymore). I've lost count of the number of brush bars they've replaced (customer services explained the bristles were only glued on. I sent them a picture of long human hair pulling them off in two weeks).

To be fair they offered to sell me an all purpose head but I won't be buying anything more. We've got four young kids and anything from a hair tie, to a marble, including breakfast cereals, will get stuck in this thing. Each time requiring a 'sit down and get comfy' operation. The articulate hard wood floor tool just pushes most stuff around. I often use a broom afterward. Moving on to the bin assembly. What a palava just to get the tiny amount it holds out. This was not built for a family. I hate my Dyson DC54 with a passion. Husband has sourced extra paint tin sealing strips so there is no excuse for the kids not to vacuum their room. They are right, it isn't fair.

I have had Dyson for about 17 years. The original animal was amazing, lasted a long time but when I needed to replace parts I was told by the company to just get a new one it would be cheaper. CHEAPER was right! It is built and made like crap. I have 3 long double coated large breed dogs and live in a very dusty area. This is supposed to be for allergy and animals but when you try to dump the thing, the hair etc. does NOT fall out. You have to open both ends and use your hands to take things out. The static is so horrible, and company response is to use a static or cling-free sheet to wipe in it after each use! Plus through one in for smell! How is that for allergy! Then I vacuum every day and cut hair off the beater bar because the hair wraps around it. I didn't mind but I was vacuuming and this wasn't even a couple months but I found because the narrowed the pole hair even got stuck in that and I had to push it out.

Then this last time I went from my hard floors to the rug and smelled something strange, a burn smell. I immediately turned off and checked the machine then saw what at first looked like it burned my rug. Turned out the beater bar melted on my rug in a couple places. I contacted Dyson and they told me to take pictures then claimed it was not a manufacture defect not their fault and only offered to send a new floor head if I sign a waiver. They said it was my fault hair got in motor housing. I said I wouldn't expect to take a vacuum apart after each use and since I was told it was for pets and allergy this is false advertisement. I know on all my dog list so many have complained about the newer Dyson saying they are made like crap and have broken down from the dog hair.

Who would have ever thought that I'd see a vacuum cleaner as a status symbol. Well, I did. I thought that if you owned a Dyson then you were the cream of the crop! Kinda like the Bentley or cars or the Coach of hand bags. Don't make my mistake. Since purchasing the Dyson, we have had to have our house replaced 3 times in as many months. I have had to stop what I was doing and unclog the vacuum every single time I used it.

Most recently, our ball shell cover has fallen off. It is not broken off, it just came unscrewed. It will not screw back on no matter what I attempt. I assume that there was some washer connection or something that must have got sucked up when it fell off. I called Dyson to inquire about how to fix it. Well, the very nice rep told me, "It needs to be sent in for repair. Oh wait... no repair centers near you, it has to be boxed up and shipped to Ontario. Don't worry, we will cover all the shipping costs." Wow! That's great!

So 3 days later I still haven't received my prepaid box, so when you count having to wait for the prepaid box... probably 5 days, then ship the stupid thing, another 5 days, then wait for the repair, another 5 days and then ship back - that's a whole month I have been without the ability to vacuum up after my 2 shedding cats and 1 shedding dog. Ridiculous! I had a vacuum from Canadian Tire that cost less than $100.00 and I never had to unclog it once, never had to send it in for repair once. I wish I never fell for all the hype and got rid of my CT vacuum for this piece of garbage! I contacted Dyson again to tell them about my displeasure in having to wait a month (at best) before I can vacuum again and they haven't replied. All they said was they see my issue is being looked after and thanked me for choosing Dyson. Do yourselves a favor. Do NOT choose Dyson!

And, we clean it after every single use (because it doesn't work if we don't). This machine has a problem common to this model - a non-working triggerhead. We've replaced it twice. Including the original that makes THREE defective triggerheads. Clearly, this entire family of machines is defective.

At this time, customer "service" is in the process of torturing us. Thus far, they've emailed a 3 page set of new maintenance troubleshooting instructions - none of which worked. A new triggerhead arrived - it doesn't work either. Our new "options" are to pack it up, drive 1.5 hours from our residence to an approved repair vendor, or, pack this beast up in a box and UPS it to a service center. If this is customer "service" then this company should be out of business. If you have another option, take it. DO NOT buy a product from this company. Not if you wish to keep your sanity.

I was & have been to-date, very pleased with its performance as an upright vacuum. Was shocked, especially with the first use, as to the amount of hair it sucked up. However, forget using attachments - suction not strong enough for anything.

Yesterday I removed it from the closet to vacuum and the first time I twisted it to turn on the ball the housing cracked completely across the back. I got on the phone to Customer Service who told me it was no longer under warranty & average repair cost exceed $150.00. Of course they had units on 'Special' that came with my choice of 3 attachments. Well some of my attachments I have never used so have all attachments necessary just need vacuum. Oh but no, Dyson changed design so doubt my attachments will still fit. My options are to get new vac & 3 attachments on Special or Purchase new vac at full retail along with whatever attachments I want with a 20% Trade-In Allowance. You can't use both promotions on the same invoice.

The Customer Rep was very pleasant & thorough but I was boiling. Not Warrantied. Fine. Have had it for about 8 yrs, but my previous other big name & expensive in it's lasted over 15 yrs & we're still operational when I purchased the Dyson. But for Dyson to change attachments so they no longer fit previous models forcing a consumer to also rebuy those items, combined with no allowing Special price & Trade-In value on the same invoice just reinforces their being money oriented over value of their customer.

She then apologized that she didn't have the ability to offer anything else & suggested I submit an email to support & perhaps that could make another option available!! Wait a minute, you want me to take the time to do this all over again & "perhaps" they can help me? No, she should check with manager & get back to me.

So I spent the next couple of hours researching best-recommended uprights by 3 different groups, made a decision & ordered a vac online with extended warranty. DONE & haven't heard a peep from Dyson. Bottom line, purchased top recommended vac for 1/3 of replacing it with a Dyson, (less than a repair also) came with all attachments, & free shipping! Well Dyson you no longer are just higher than your competitors, you offer existing owners no perks or benefit to stay with Dyson demonstrating total disregard & lack of customer loyalty. Bye bye.

The handle broke off the vacuum while lifting the vacuum by the handle while using the wand to vacuum stairs, apparently because the weight of the vacuum was too much for the unit to be lifted and maneuvered by the handle without being reinforced by the hose and wand inside it. Dyson says the break was due to abuse or normal wear and tear, and not a defect in material or design and refused to repair it. Dyson customer service has been extremely courteous and professional and I could not be more pleased with my contacts with customer service.

But I do take issue with Dyson's claim that the handle broke on account of abuse or normal wear and tear, and, therefore, not covered by its 5-year warranty. The question is: Has anyone else experienced a handle breaking off just above the on/off switch where the handle attaches to the body of the unit, and, if so, how was the claim handled by Dyson? Bought a Dyson upright DC-40 Nov. 2014. I paid $450 for this machine thinking that I had bought a decent vacuum cleaner. I am very disappointed as it has broken twice the first year that I have had it, once within the first 30 days. As I am writing this my Dyson is in the service center again. The problem is the same, the beater bar stops turning and the vacuum won't pick anything up. When you take it to their authorized service centers they keep it 45-60 days. I finally had to purchase another vacuum cleaner as my unit is in the shop again. Don't buy into the advertisement hype. Dyson vacuum cleaners are real crap. I have purchased another leading brand for a 1/4 of the price that is working great. I would strongly advise to stay away from this substandard product. Dyson is a rip-off.

Dyson DC40 Vacuum - Okay, it's been a year since I purchased my Dyson. I didn't want to write a review until I really gave the product a good try. Well one year later, I'M DONE! This is absolutely the worst vacuum I have ever bought. Next week I'm going to the grocery store and buy a $45 Swiffer as I'm sure it will be easier on my back and do a better job than this over-engineered, over-priced Dyson. I live in a two story house with about 1,500 square foot of wood and brick floors and two small area rugs. I bought the Dyson because I have three small dogs and two big dogs so yes, there is a lot of pet hair to deal with. But hey, I thought a $400 vacuum could handle the job. Because most of the area needing vacuuming is for hard surfaces, so I am forced to use the hard-floor hose and attachment. Ugggh!

First of all hose is so stiff, rigid, and inflexible that you have to use one hand on the front of the hose to direct the floor attachment and a second had on the back of the hose to keep it stretched out enough so that it doesn't continuously hit you in the back side (and I'm being nice with those words.) After an hour with the Dyson, I always feel I've been badly accosted. I don't understand why the hose has to be so darn rigid. Now to the floor attachment itself, all the floor attachment does is collect hair and dust but doesn't suck it up the hose. Every few minutes I have to remove stuff form the attachment and stuff it up the hose. REALLY? I might as well be sweeping with a broom and dust pan. It would be quicker, easier, and a lot less strain on my back.

Bullet Points: Hose EXTREMELY rigid, inflexible and HARD to use. Floor Attachment collects hair and dust which doesn't get sucked up the hose. Awkward to use, not good in small rooms, tips over and dents wall and furniture. Cord too short. Clogs often. The last thing I will say is... DON'T EVEN THINK OF PURCHASING A DYSON. We now use a 20 year old Kenmore we bought at a flee market for $15. It works 10X better than the Dyson and is MUCH easier to use.

I have had the Dyson 35 (now extinct) for 1.75 years. Initially, when reading the material you think that there is a 2-yr warranty. However, there is an extra word that you didn't notice at first i.e.: "limited". As it was explained to me, any part of the vacuum that fails due to wear and tear is not covered under the warranty. I needed a new bin because I guess the valve that comes between wand and bin died. So... they sent me a new bin for free as a gesture of goodwill when I bought a new V6 (the cheap one), soon to be extinct. Good for another year!

I do wish that one of their expert engineers would address the problem of the bin collecting debris past the fill line before you can say "Jack Robinson". Surely they can figure out a way to put some sort of strainer between the suction apparatus and the bin to prevent this problem. It is annoying. Basically, be prepared to take the thing apart every time you use it. Use only dry fabric softener sheets or microfiber. Now that I have two running machines, maybe I will actually have one when I need it!

Let me start by saying that myself, and everyone in my family are loyal Dyson customers. I was given the dc40 as a gift 3 years ago and it had never faltered until September 2015. I troubleshooted with the customer service department for a half hour, but had no choice but to send it in. They paid the shipping. A week later I revived confirmation that my vacuum had made it to the warehouse - but I was never contacted by Dyson. After 3 weeks I had enough and started sending emails that received no response. Then I began calling. They blamed UPS for the item being lost (although I had received confirmation) and agreed to send me out a new one within 10 business days. Not even the same model, a different one of their choosing.

10 days later still no vacuum. I called again. Customer service stated they would overnight the new vacuum and I should have it soon. A week later, still no vacuum. I recently received an email stating that it would be at my home in 7 business days, with a tracking number that links to nothing. My advice? Don't. Just do not. The product itself is amazing but as soon as you have a flaw it becomes a living nightmare. I have a dog, a cat, a boyfriend with allergies, and vacuum that is permanently in Dyson limbo.

After a lot of phoning and sending a letter by special delivery, which I had no response I called Dyson who said that they could do nothing. Buying my Dyson Canister was the worst mistake and biggest regret. The cord is short, to vacuum an average sized room in a house you will have to unplug and move it a few times. The canister space is small and you are required to empty it frequently (especially if you have pets or children). If you happen to suck up an obstruction it is near to impossible to free it from the hose. As you move along it travels awkwardly (so frustrating) also heavy and difficult to move around the house especially up and down stairs. It is also very difficult to clean the inside - the part the canister is attached to where dust and dirt build up over time. This machine is really only suited for someone in a condo or in a place with small rooms with no animals or kids.

I now no longer use it on hard floors because it is quicker to sweep them. It is only marginally effective on carpets in max mode which means I can only use it for 6 minutes before recharging. The cheap, red plastic piece that holds the canister to the vacuum and also dumps the canister broke rendering the vacuum useless. I asked for a refund. They did not acknowledge the refund request, rather they asked for pictures of the broken part which I promptly provided. I was finally emailed saying they'd ship the part. I received a separate email with an order invoice (which didn't seem like the description for the part I needed anyway and I questioned that with no resolve).

Ten days later I had not received the part. I again emailed and was told it would be shipped soon. At that point I asked again for a refund as they sold me a useless product and were not standing by it. They said they would not refund and my part would be shipped "soon". Then I received another invoice email that I have no faith in as it is just a copy of the first invoice that never shipped. I disputed the charge with my credit card so I'm waiting to see what happens next. I will never buy from nor recommend Dyson! I will go back to Shark which is what I should've done to start with.

So I can't get at cob webs or dust in corners. We have only had this about 6 months.

I did file a request for service with Dyson re the suction to see if maybe there was a build issue on this one that could be fixed or exchanged. They never ever responded to the email so let's toss bad service into this review as well. As a note, I also contacted Sears who we bought it from and they never responded either. Since my old Dyson had been such a great vacuum for so many years, I decided to go out and buy a new one. We went to Kohl's and got a great deal on a new DC65. The tank on this says, "4 times the suction of a Shark Rotator Pro Lift-Away NV501."

I'm honestly kind of baffled by that statement because as I'm typing this, my 3 week old vacuum is sitting in a couple pieces in front of me. This thing does NOT suck up even the smallest crumb. All the brush does is spin and cause crumbs to go flying out all over. The tank is barely filled after vacuumed by my living my room and I still see dirt and crumbs on the floor. I have looked in all tubes and there is no blockage. The filter is spotless. Take this on hardwood floor and turn the setting to hard floors and there is zero suction. You run it back and forth over dirt and the crumbs sit there. I'm pretty frustrated that his thing sucks so bad, (pun noted) and I'm planning to take it back to the store.

We do not like how the entire shaft has to be removed in order to use the trim vacuum. It becomes quite annoying having to unravel the cord every time you are vacuuming trim. I purchased a Dyson after the terrible luck with every other type of vacuum cleaner I've owned. They of course lose suction after a period of time and the Dyson people swear by their high quality and "no loss of suction." Ok, so I bought it at a Target store for 500.00 and some change. I picked the animal version because it was meant to help with hair and dander. I have a cat rescue and really needed this type of help. After spending three hours assembling it I was excited to see it perform. I have mostly wood floors but the bedrooms are carpet. The first few strokes were beautiful. It was easy to use and sucked very well. Until it didn't.

The can was half full so I emptied it. Still no suction. Took the thing apart to find the problem. Didn't take long. The clog was right at the head where it funnels the dirt into the cannister. Once it gets sucked up by the head the debris is sucked through an opening about as wide as a pencil lead and around 3 inches long. The clog was caused by a splinter stuck in the carpet. It lodged in the slit and wouldn't let anything pass.

So... in summary... if you crawl around on the floor with a fine tooth comb and pick everything thing up that is bigger than a toothpick it will work. So whats the point. Takes me twice as long to clean the floor and I did better with the cheapest vacuum. That money could have been used to buy a nice rainbow vac or something that actually does what's advertised. It works well to hang my coat on and collect dust on the outside rather that inside. My opinion, save your money.

Other than sharing the same name - the DC77 is a piece of crap. It is NOT user friendly!!!!! You better NOT like clean hands because you're CONSTANTLY having to use your hands to fish around the inside of the teeny-weeny canister. This is supposed to be an "animal vacuum" but the dog hair and dust push past THEIR ridiculous line on the canister, CONSTANTLY. Also, it doesn't clean in the crevices of the stairs OR along the baseboards, so again, you have to use your hands.

I told them they should make sure they advertise that fact as it is now a wasted $600. Their response was that I should have done more research before purchasing it!!!

My husband bought this vacuum after watching the demo on QVC. This is the worst vacuum I have ever owned. (Electrolux, Oreck.) It is very heavy and difficult to carry or manipulate. It does not suck up anything on a hardwood floor. And I agree with the previous reviewers, it just pushes the dirt around. The cord is inflexible, too long, and gets wrapped on everything.. I tried to use the hose to suck up ash in my fireplace, and even that got clogged. Finally be careful when you dislodge the dirt from the canister. It blows up like a volcano spreading dust everywhere.

What people say about the suction on this machine is absolutely true: it's the best ever, hands down. However, from the user's standpoint this is the worst designed machine I've ever owned, and I've owned some clunkers. By far the biggest design flaw is that it blocks up constantly. I learned immediately that you can't run over a dime or something by mistake. That's going to take you half an hour of messing around to unblock. Honestly, anything bigger than a lentil and that's it. Even once you've taken apart the hose at every joint, there are parts you can't see or reach (if Dyson would provide some sort of tool for reaching these areas, I could forgive even this).

I've got time to write this because my afternoon of cleaning has ground to a halt. I've taken the whole thing apart (which I'm very good at by now), can't find the blockage. In desperation, I've rinsed out the filter, which means that I can't use the vacuum for another 24 hours while it dries. Other little problems: it falls over constantly as I drag it around (I don't even sit it upright anymore, it will just fall over again). The cord is extremely short: I have to change the outlet location twice in my 700-square foot apartment.

There is a holder for the attachments on the wand but the attachments fall off constantly. There is no point in keeping them there. The canister takes several tries to re-latch once you've emptied it, which you have to pretty much every time you use it, it's tiny. Hair gets wound around the rotating brush on the head of the machine constantly, and has to be cut off (it's hard not to damage the brush while doing this by the way, I have a short bob). Yes, the suction is unbeatable but this is a $600 machine! SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS! I'd sell it but I would feel guilty inflicting it on someone else.

I spent over $400 on a piece of crap! The suction is great, but only if you pick up dust. Try and suck up a piece of dog food and it will spit it across the floor. The rotary brush is constantly stopping because it becomes clogged with hair. Never had that problem with any other vacuum. It require 2 hands and a lot of frustration to get any of the attachments on or off. And doesn't Dyson promote that they are innovators? Why would you put the on/off switch on the canister and not the handle. One last note, the cord is constantly tangled on the canister which means you have to go untangle it in just about every room. Horrible vacuum, when I called to complain, they did NOTHING.

You cannot use it on any simple non-skid rugs without it sucking it up. The long attachment works, but it's annoying to have to pull that out just to vacuum an entry rug. The plug is so temperament that it falls out of its socket with little to no effort. The extension hose does not expand out far at all to allow you to vacuum furniture or steps making it nearly a useless tool. The vacuum is heavy, bulky and I wish I never bought the darn thing. It is definitely not worth $400 and I am kicking myself for making the investment.

When I purchased my Dyson ball vacuum cleaner, I was completely sold on the commercials. Frankly, the "ball" hasn't really made it any easier to maneuver than my old vacuum cleaner. The long cord is constantly getting wrapped around furniture legs, not to mention my own! This vacuum cleaner is very heavy and when struggling with it, I think it might be better suited for use by a body builder. A retracting cord would certainly be an improvement. The "expandable" hose doesn't expand beyond 4 ft unless I can find some way to anchor the vacuum cleaner to the floor. Otherwise, when trying to vacuum my stairs or cobwebs from the ceiling, the heavy machine painfully rams into the back of my legs. I purchased this machine because I don't have to buy replacement filters, and although I like being able to wash the filters, I find they need cleaning far more often than the recommended every 3 months.

I have had more powerful vacuum cleaners in the past. I would rate this one as only "average" as it doesn't pick up as well as advertised. I've had to go over the same area several times and still find myself bending over to "feed" tiny bits of dirt, paper, or pet hair directly into the hose. It is relatively easy to empty, but I wonder how long the plastic tank will last as I am already seeing stress fractures despite my careful handling. I never bang or shake the canister when emptying. Instead, I reach inside to pull the accumulated dirt and debris out. Very unpleasant. I would not recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone who has much in the way of furniture to move around. Might be okay for use in a hall or auditorium where there little to get in the way. I'll never buy another Dyson vacuum cleaner.

I have never owned a vacuum as bad as the Dyson animal. The vacuum doesn't have any strength to its vacuum suction at all. When using the hose portion it will partially suck a piece of something off the floor then drop it back down unless you cover the end piece with your hand so it will suck it into the canister. The vacuum also requires cleaning of multiple areas after each use so it will halfway vacuum for the next use. The canister of course has to be cleaned out, the filter inside has to be cleaned out (because it gets clogged with dust, fibers, and pet hair), the beater brush casing has to be cleaned out because things gets stuck in and around it, and there is a spot I found underneath the vacuum where a hose that attaches to the canister also gets clogged. After you clean all these parts you have to sweep again with a sweeper that doesn't have much suction because you have made a mess cleaning out the vacuum. Ridiculous.

We've purchased two of the DC59 Animal cordless units, the following is our experience and resulting opinions about the units. For the most part they perform very well. They have far more power and clean far better than most units we've tried. The units excel at cleaning up pet hair (especially off of hard floors). They are lightweight and easy to operate. The dust bin is clear, so you know when it's full, and it's easy to dump out. The trigger must be pulled and held back for continuous operation, which is actually quite difficult for some users. Those with even moderate hand and finger strength will tire quickly and find the unit difficult to operate. The battery life is fairly short, especially on high power, where it drains in only a few minutes. The filtration system is not readily user serviceable, so apart from dumping the bin, the unit fills up with fine dust and dirt and is difficult to service.

But for us, over-weighing all other issues was the potential danger for cuts and personal injury posed by very sharp, broken plastic edges resulting from trigger guard tabs that simply broke off during normal use on our DC59 units. For unknown reasons, our DC59 trigger guard tab broke off one day in normal operation. The resulting edges around the broken trigger tab were extremely sharp and produced pretty deep cuts and scratches on my fingers before I knew what had happened. We contacted Dyson, explained the situation, and after some degree of hassle, they sent us a replacement DC59, which we feel was a very fair action on Dyson's part to solve the problem.

But after just a few weeks of normal use, the exact same thing happened again, and the trigger tab broke off in exactly the same place as it had on the first DC59, again with very sharp, potentially cut-injury producing plastic edges near the trigger. The two broken trigger tabs off both units look EXACTLY the same, and could match the broken edges on either DC59 they came off of. Not an engineer, but two pieces of fragile plastic break off in exactly the same way during normal use, sounds like something Dyson should look into. At any rate, the edges are very sharp, so be careful if this happens with your unit. They can be filed down to smooth out the jagged edges, but that shouldn't be necessary on a $500 cordless vacuum cleaner.

I bought the DC37 for 734.00 (CDN) in 2013 and it worked very well for 2 months and that was it. I had to wash out the filter after every use, not every month. The suction is terrible and there are no blockages. It's so bad that it can't even rotate the brushes on the power nozzle. When I do use it on the carpets it's as though I'm using my broom. Then you have to pull it apart and clean everything only to have it work properly for 1 day.

Disgusting product, especially considering the price. Every time I use it I cringe just having to look at it. Don't waste your time or money. Their ads are false and misleading... I guess they figure the condescending accent sells the product. It's funny I owned a Eureka that I purchased at Walmart which started better than Dyson and 1/4 of the price. The suction was 10 times more powerful than Dyson. The only drawback was that you had to replace the filter every month or so, for about 15.00. I guess 734 can buy a lot of filters… If only I had known!!!

We purchased the Dyson DC 62 in December 2014. When we first received the unit, we had trouble charging the unit however we managed to get a charge and used the vacuum until the charge ran out. Subsequent charging was equally difficult until the unit stopped charging altogether in mid February. We contacted Dyson at which time they shipped us a new power plug. The new power plug did not solve the problem so we contacted Dyson again and were told that the battery would need replacement. Ten days later we received the new battery and installed it. The unit worked until the charge was gone on the new battery and, once again, we had a dead vacuum cleaner.

We contacted Dyson again mid March and complained that we needed the unit and wanted a replacement. We were told that a new unit would be shipped but only once the original unit and all accessories were returned to Dyson for inspection. We were unhappy with this response as we had no vacuum to use and were in the middle of a move. We asked to speak with a manager and were told a manager would call back. Ten days later a message was left on our phone to call Dyson. The number left was the Dyson help line general number and no one seemed to be aware of our issue. Since then we have not received our replacement Dyson, instead we received a replacement cone filter sent by Purolator and no mention of our vacuum cleaner.

Today we contacted Dyson and left a call back number. It has been several hours and we have heard nothing even though we understood that our call would be returned when our place in the queue was reached. This was not our first experience trying to reach or hear back from Dyson. We purchased the Dyson because our old reliable vacuum finally died and we were sure that Dyson had a great reputation. We have since had to purchase another vacuum (not a Dyson) and would like to know when we may expect to receive the intact and working product that we paid almost six hundred dollars for. The small cone filter we received is an expensive reminder of Dyson's poor customer service and refusal to provide the 100% satisfaction guarantee that was promised.

Was under water, still works great 4+ years later! I don't know the Dyson model # but it's an older yellow model. We got it many years ago in the late 1990's. It worked better than any vac we have ever had. Four or five years ago I left it in the bath tub overnight in our 5th wheel trailer to keep it out of the way. Since it was below freezing I let the lavatory sink drip overnight to avoid freezing up the water lines. In the morning I found the grey water tank had filled up and backed up into the tub, but not overflowed. The Dyson was sitting in enough water to cover the motor in the tub. I figured it was ruined for sure. I thought I had nothing to lose in trying to revive it so I drained it and took it apart. It took me awhile to figure out all the parts that came apart. Not everything, but enough to let the motor and lower end dry out. Then I let it all dry on heater vents for the day. I reassembled the vacuum and it still works great to this day.

Since then I've had to clean some seals and replace the belt a couple of times and I finally ordered new seals and replaced them. Very inexpensive. I have found that dust will collect and build up over time in the seal areas and cause minor leaks which have an impact on performance. It slowly gets worse over time and goes unnoticed until it doesn't work very well anymore. If I remove the seals and wash them in mild detergent and clean the areas around where the seals go and the seats for the seals, the vac will again work like new. Of course, one has to also keep the filters clean and clean out the inside of the tank of built up crud. Any trouble we've had with our Dyson was my fault for 1., drowning it, and 2., not servicing it at intervals to avoid leaky seals from dust build up. I would recommend that if anyone who has a Dyson that has a problem and is not inclined to getting their hands dirty, take it to a good shop that sells Dyson and let them service it.

So two years ago when I first moved in with my husband we bought a dyson, the one with the easy release tub and roller ball thing. It broke down, took it to Sears and it was fixed in three days. Then it broke down again, the same time two weeks before Christmas. Called the people who were nice and helpful but they told me they no longer worked with Sears. Fine but when I sent it in it took six weeks and four angry calls because it was lost then the people had forgotten to work on it. Now I have it back, go to vacuum one bedroom and the living room and it does the same thing as when I sent it in. If I had known it was going to work out like this I would have bought a shock-vac and gone through that horrible clumsy mess. At least I know it would work and clean.

I purchased my Dyson DC50 at Costco for $350 about one year ago. It is one of the most terrible vacuum cleaners I've ever used. It is not intuitive. Once you get the hang of how the vacuum works, you begin to vacuum and realize that the only debris it picks up is dust and hair. God forbid you want to clear up Cheerios or small pieces of paper.

The hose is not long enough or flexible enough. The attachments are awkward to use. The debris compartment is not easy to clean out much less get all of the debris out. What put my vacuum over the edge was that I tried to clean up some shredded paper with the vacuum. It became stopped up and stopped suction. We finally cleared out the blockage and the suction for the carpet cleaner no longer works. Save your money. This is an over-hyped machine created to look good in a house featured in Dwell Magazine. If you ever notice, people who live in those homes rarely have kids or dirt or Cheerios on their floors. Back to a clunky Kenmore Canister I go.

I ordered a filter for the DC16 from their Canadian website. The cost was $10 plus shipping charge. This amounted to $19. They charged my credit card immediately. After about 14 business days, I called them and asked the status of my order. They gave me an excuse why it was not shipped. I waited another 2 weeks. Again another excuse. I cancelled the order. They tell me they will need 21 days to refund my money. This order was cancelled on December 30, 2014. It is now February 1, 2015. That's 21 business days. The money has not been credited back to my credit card. They are able to charge my credit card right away but need 21 days to refund my payment?

I doubt I will get my payment back. I'm sure that if I call them about the refund, they will provide me with more excuses why I have not received my payment back. I'm just glad it was only $19.00. I won't be buying from Dyson again. I was able to get the filter from Amazon.ca for $10 Canadian with free shipping. Here is the response from one of the customer service representatives regarding the cancellation: "This order has been cancelled and we are currently processing a refund."

Purchased my DC07 2004 took very good care of it, cleaned filter as directed. Flash forward to 2015 filter is clogged, called Dyson customer service as hepatitis filter is supposed to have a lifetime warranty as stated in the instructions. Not suppose to ever need replacing, not so! Was told the lifetime warranty is only good for the warranty on the sweeper which was two years. Asked them to replace the filter for free because it was stated lifetime but again according to them it was just for two years. What a bunch of crap. They obviously don't care about customer satisfaction and are getting away with false advertisement. Told them I'm going to buy a Shark. They could care less arrogant people.

I have had the Dyson DC39 for about 14 months. It was doing a good job, but then after 6 months I started having problems with the power head staying on. It works with the suction of air, it got temperamental and I couldn't keep it going. I took it all apart and still no luck. I am going back to Kenmore w/ bag.

Please don't waste your money on a Dyson Vacuum. We bought two, upright & canister for cleaning in a 40 room motel. They get used every day. Poor design, attachments are crap, hoses way too short, canister vacuum doesn't roll and tips over easy. Both vacuums - very heavy to carry, plugs up easy, don't even think of vacuuming up pop corn, emptying canister takes three hands, the upright is a pain to keep standing up without falling over, everything is plastic. THE ONLY GOOD THING is the suction unless you find a pop corn kernel is all over.

I would comment on the actual DC59 if I had a chance to use it! I am unable to get through to Dyson, Australia. This is appalling and terrible customer service. I have just spent almost $600 on a new Dyson (one month ago) and have a problem with the clip that opens the bin for emptying. While I don't see this as a major problem and one that I assume Dyson will fix or replace, I CANNOT get in touch with Dyson to address it.

I called a week ago, several times and got: "We are busy right now. Please call back." No ability to wait, no ability to leave a message. So I emailed them -- a week ago...nothing! Except for an automated reply that says, "Please phone us." This is really a joke. So a week later - today - I try to call again. Today the phone at least answered and a recorded message told me I was 43 in the queue! Really? You have to be kidding.

I then tried to find a head office number but there is nothing listed anywhere! This is just ridiculous. They have one 1800 number for the whole of the country and clearly don't have the capacity to deal with calls and emails. At this stage I am very tempted to take the Dyson back to the store and ask for a refund and spend my money elsewhere.

OK so I bought the Dyson at Best Buy in 2010 and I couldn't believe I was spending $400 on a vacuum cleaner but the salesman said it was worth it. A year later I had moved to Bush Alaska, away from being able to take it anywhere for repair, or even back to Best Buy, and it just stopped working. I took it apart, cleaned everything, got it working again, and two weeks later it stopped again. This time for good. I am NOT HAPPY that something that cost this much died that fast it did not last two years. Yes I have two dogs but that's why I bought this. I just don't know what to do now. Do buy cheap vacuum cleaners and then just throw them away? I guess so.
