Several FlexCare toothbrushes were purchased as gifts. After less than 6 months, one of them stopped working and will not shut off. Philips does NOT stand behind the product. Do not purchase. Find a company that warrants its products.

I recently reported my new Sonicare toothbrush that I received as a gift not working. I placed the toothbrush head onto the hand set and it would not stay on and it makes a loud sound. Did you know that they do ship replacements to Hawaii? I offered to pay for shipping and handling. I mentioned this to my friends here in my office and to my family about their policy not helping me because I lived in Hawaii. It is so ironic because others who have had problems say that the Phillips company has mailed out to them products. What? He said they do not mail out to Hawaii! And another thing. Each time I called I have to wait a long time before anyone helps me. For example today, 7/10, I have been waiting 25 min. Then a recording just came on that they are closed. Be careful when purchasing this product.

So I decided to pay the remaining balance of my toothbrush off but 2 day later I was billed the monthly subscription fee. I emailed and called and they said I didn’t pay it off but my bank shows different. They are still trying to charge me the subscription fee next month even after showing proof that my balance was paid through my bank. They are thieves.

I truly wanted to buy a Sonicare $200 electric toothbrush. First, the product descriptions do a very poor job of giving the differences between the 3 brushes, and no phone numbers to call, to talk to a person. I went ahead and tried to order the best brush. Sadly, the system would not take my credit card, which works perfectly. So, I called the 800 number, and it stated that all customer service reps were working from home! Really? Most of the world is back to work! Then it transferred me to someone's home, where I couldn't understand what they were saying. So, I called back again, and after 10 minutes, it cut me off! Sad, I hear they make a good product... I'd buy it, if that were possible.

I've owned 2 Sonicare toothbrushes (about £200 worth of toothbrushes) within the past 5 years. I've always taken very good care of them, allowing full charges and discharges. Both of them malfunctioned and stopped working well before what I would consider an acceptable time. The first one I gave the benefit of the doubt that it was just a duff battery when it stopped working (wouldn't charge) after around 2 years. The second one then then stopped working after about the same time. This was not a battery issue as suspected with the first one. This malfunction was such that it turned itself on randomly, and annoyingly in the middle of the night. The power button was unresponsive and I had to wait for it to stop vibrating on its own. It then wouldn't turn on and then kept vibrating on and off randomly. Very disappointing. In short, I won't be buying anything Philips ever again, and I would suggest that you don't either.

Bought 2 brand new Diamond clean toothbrushes. 1 was missing the water seal. Phillips would not accept responsibility for missing items. This is not a company people should be dealing with. If you cant stand behind your products, then why should customers buy it? 200+ in the trash. Thanks Phillips.

Initial experience from this pricey, high-performance electric toothbrush was excellent, exceeding expectations. However, within 3-4 months, the toothbrush became very noisy and vibrated irregularly with nowhere near the efficiency that it had worked at the onset, with single-user use. Thinking that I just had a defective model, I purchased a new toothbrush (having mislaid my receipt) - and this, too had to be replaced again, some 3-4 months later. 3-4 months on, this, too, is now faulty. This is not a robust product. While the initial performance is impressive, buyer beware. This is a very expensive product, and one would expect that it would last for at least 1 if not 2 years.

My Diamond Clean toothbrush had a major fault in December 2019. They sent me a new one. The replacement then had a major fault at the end of December. They sent me a new one. The second replacement developed a major fault, with exactly the same fault as the previous one within a few days. Despite agreeing to a video call showing them (and helping them) they refused to send me another one. That is 3 Diamond Clean faults in 2 months. Would anybody bother to buy one of these. I hope not! I will be looking at alternatives and never buy Philips again.

I purchased the Philips Sonicare from Costco. Had an issue where it would not charge. Philips replaced it with a new device. However in less than 6 months the replaces device was defective where the vibrating part becomes loose and the brush doesn’t vibrate properly. When I called Philips the customer service rep said that since they had already replaced it once the warranty was no longer in effect. The supervisor who came on after I requested to speak to one said the system would not allow him to replace the defective device and if I wanted a new one I could buy it at 25% off their inflated retail price on their website. I finally hung up in frustration and called Costco. I must say Costco has the best customer service. They said, "No problem, just take it to one of their stores and get it replaced at no charge." Thank you Costco. I might just exchange it for an Oral B. I heard they are better.

My DiamondClean toothbrush randomly stopped working in less than a year, under warranty. Luckily, I registered the thing on the Philips website with a picture of the original receipt. Therefore, I figured it would be easy to get a replacement. Boy was I wrong—I had countless phone calls and chats with overseas customer service representatives who simply could "not understand the issue". I told them there was nothing wrong with the outlet or the charger, but that the brush had simply stopped working and won't turn on. Still, they insisted on sending me a new charger to "try first". Like no, I spent $200 on this thing and I want to brush my teeth with vibration.
I remember one phone call, she simply told me she would call me back at a later time because she couldn't understand that I wanted a replacement. It was so strange. It truly was. I wasn't being rude at all, I was simply asking them to honour warranty. Anyway, the new brush finally came...and promptly stopped working as well. I am devastated. I think these brushes are just very fragile. Mine was charging and kind of fell off the charger. I wonder if it jostled the battery too much? I think it is cheaply made. I had such a dreadful customer service experience that I'm just going to call it a day and buy a new electric toothbrush from a different brand.

I returned the toothbrush as soon as it arrived because I decided to buy it cash from Best Buy so I ended my subscription and returned the toothbrush expecting a refund. Fast forward a month later 20 calls to customer service, numerous online chat with Philips, no refund, no resolution – only PROMISES that they escalated the case to the subscription department and someone will reach out or just refund me the 2 charges I already got for a product I NEVER used. I have all the proof that UPS returned my toothbrush but guess what ....You can reach the subscription "team" only by phone. No e-mail to send them proofs. Bunch of clueless barely speaking English workers on the other end. Super frustratingggg.

During the 3 year extended warranty period my toothbrush was replaced 4 times. Each time it was the same problem... The metal face plate was lifting off. Philips claimed they never had this problem. Now my wife's toothbrush will frequently not turn on and when it does the motor makes a strange noise. We are mature adults and clean the toothbrushes after each use. Considering the cost of these units the quality/reliability is not what it should be. I also have an Oral B toothbrush that has worked fine for 10 years.

My mother purchased me a Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush before Christmas last year. My toothbrush, not even a year later, just stopped working. When I called in to customer service the woman said they had had a lot of toothbrushes be sold with old bases so that’s probably what happened and my toothbrush was out of warranty. She could give me a 20% coupon and that’s it. I checked my warranty on the box and it said two years. My mother, who bought it, went back to Bed Bath and Beyond but because her credit card had been replaced due to unknown charges on her card months prior, Bed Bath and Beyond couldn’t provide proof of purchase. Sonicare says that the toothbrush handle was manufactured in 2015 according to the serial number, but it was not actually purchased until 2018. They are saying that it is not their problem and then I need to buy a new toothbrush if I want one.
This is the worst customer service! They just want to upsell me and are saying it’s my fault for not looking at serial number and known when handle was made. How would I ever know that?! I’m looking into a better company for a toothbrush where at least they will honor their warranty. It’s not the way to treat someone who has has helped keep them in business for a decade.

Purchased a Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush about a year ago. Recently Costco had a small display on their replacement brushes. Before I bought them I checked out their website to see how to remove the brush from the handle. "All you do is pull out the brush." Well as much as I twisted and pulled it would not come out. I called their customer "service" and was told they cannot help me since the warranty does cover the brush and all she could recommend was to buy a NEW ONE!!!! Well since that would never happen I asked if I could send it in and if one of their people could pull it out. Guess what she said? "Sorry no can do." If you are not looking for an electric toothbrush that will fail and then get a brush off from the company, then stay away from this company.

Maybe it is nice to have an app downloaded and know how you brush your teeth etc. However, the design or hardware work is still the same. Both brushes (my husband and mine) are stop functioning in less than 2 years. Why company make a very expensive product, advertise this product as the best, but really what it is come down is to waste of your money. Factory warranty expires and brush "expired" as well. My second Sonicare toothbrush stopped working. This is the second one that I have Purchased with in the last four years. At a cost of $200 per toothbrush over a 4 year period, that comes out to $100 per year to use a Sonicare, which doesn’t even include the cost of the brushes! It appears that the toothbrush doesn’t hold a charge. I spoke to a supervisor at Sonicare about the issue, and was offered a 40% discount to purchase a new one. Even with a 40% discount, it still comes out to almost $100 for a new one, which will probably last less than two years. Well I think the Sonicare toothbrush performed well, I’m going to cut my losses and move on to a different brand made out of better quality materials, and with a company that cares about their customers.

Price jumped up 25% then was discounted back down to $39.95. I called to ask for help which was offered. Then I was told they were on sale already and discounts were not available. Price was not allowed to go any lower. I checked Walmart on-line price which was also $39.95. Purchased the DiamondClean expecting the quality of materials used to manufacture would be better than the much less expensive versions. Panasonic has a 2 year warranty which I’m sure like anything else, they understand the time period in which these units will malfunction not to mention, you HAVE TO KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL RECEIPT in order to obtain any support up to two years. Registration of unit does not count for proof of purchase.
After a little over 2 years, my DiamondClean did not have the same vibration. I replace the brush head every 4-6 months and assumed perhaps it was time for a new head. The unit maintained the low vibration which had me curious to look online for issues regarding this brush. What I found was numerous accounts of the same issue and techies attempting to repair on their own. There happen to be a weak point in the metal that attaches the brush head shaft to the vibration mechanism which will break over time. Normally, I just throw my brush away and purchase a new Sonicare, but after paying over $250 + $30 (brush head) on a toothbrush that Panasonic refuses to support, I wonder who the real sucker is here. If you choose to purchase a Sonicare, purchase the cheapest model possible, it’s all the same. Case# **

Purchased two Philips Sonicare HX6932/10 FlexCare RS930 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush back in 2011. Within the first year both were quickly replaced by Philips when I had problems with them. Since then they have traveled, literally thousands of miles all around Mexico, by car, bus, plane and boat and are still working awesomely. Had a couple of little problems with excess vibrations but a quick Google search led me to an easy fix, that involves nothing more than opening up the toothbrush and tightening a screw (which after years of constant movement is understandably going to work loose). We have always felt that the replacement heads are a little expensive but prices have come down and we have been able to find good deals on Amazon. In conclusion I would buy them again and would recommend others to do so.

I find it interesting that after googling, "Sonicare toothbrush turning on by itself," I was led to a 5+-year-old Facebook post, as well as numerous complaints littered throughout the Web. My toothbrush kept my husband and I up all night, last night. I finally had to wrap it in a washcloth and seal it in a metal canister. It took 3 hours for it to supposedly drain the battery. I did not hear a peep all day, and it started up again a few minutes ago, all by itself. Clearly, they have a major design flaw that the company will not admit. I know that my product is out of warranty, but I will not be contacting Philips, because all they offer is a coupon, and I don't want it. I just ordered a brand new Oral B 6000. My husband has had his Oral B as long as I have had my Sonicare, and has never had an issue. So, thanks for the memories.

I have had my Sonicare set just over two years and the battery will now no longer charge. I know people who have very old Sonicare and they still hold a charge and work. I was recommended this product by my dentist - I think dentist should change their recommendations because they must be thinking of the Sonicare company of the past which made products that were quite reliable. I purchased the Philips Sonicare Toothbrush, model number HX9340, on 8/28/2014. The product performed well, giving my teeth a very thorough cleaning, especially at removing plaque. Much better than a typical hand operated toothbrush. However, after about 4.5 years of daily use, the brush suddenly had greatly diminished vibrations. The metal spindle at the tip of the handle, which the brush sits on, which transfers the vibration to the brush, was very loose.
Went to the Philips website, but there is very little information about what replacement parts are available, and when I entered the date of purchase, the first thing that comes up is that your product is out of warranty (mine had a two year warranty, so that is true). Then you are directed to an online purchase site... To purchase a new handle. Apparently the handle assembly is not repairable. At one point the website offered me a 15% discount coupon, but during the registration process to get that coupon, the form is locked into UK address. Since I live in USA, I cannot complete the form.
Terrible customer service, and lack of support for their products, which apparently are throw away products after just a few short years. I have a Philips shaver, that has a similar problem. The transmission component (which is plastic) which transfers the vibration into a side to side motion at the cutter tip, was so worn, that it could not overcome the friction on the cutter head, even with extra lubricating oil.

Hugely disappointed with this product. Had been a Braun user for many years but at the recommendation of dental hygienist, purchased a Philips Sonicare. The power dwindled to the point of no power. The machine has not been dropped, wiped regularly and brush heads replaced. At first I thought it was the individual replacement toothbrush heads and replaced a few times thinking perhaps faulty unit(s). However, having repeated with no change, and costly process, I am now convinced it is the toothbrush unit itself. In speaking to people about this, I appear not to be the only one who is disheartened. At a cost of close to $300, one would think a longer life span could be had! I have returned to using my good old Braun which I have had for over ten years! Shame on Philips Sonicare. The responsible thing would be to pull the product!

I wish I could write something good about products I use, but unfortunately it's not happening. I absolutely agree with other negative reviews. I am a dentist trying to test different products so that I have a better idea of what to recommend to my patients. My Philips local rep stopped by my office and recommended Sonicare electric toothbrush last year. I and my wife used it for little over a year, then mine stopped working. Since it was under warranty, they asked me to send it back and I did. Through Encompass, I got a new one shipped probably in a couple of weeks, but the case was missing. When I contacted the customer service, I was asked why I sent the case. I thought I had to send everything back since there was no instruction. When I mentioned that, they sent me a new case.
The real issue was one that my wife used. Her Sonicare stopped working 2 weeks after mine broke. I followed the same steps, but didn't receive anything for almost 2 months. I finally contacted the Encompass and they asked me to talk to Philips customer service. When I spoke with them, they said, it was already shipped 2 months ago. When I asked them to verify the name and address, they sent me the link of FedEx tracking service and found that it was different person and different state. When I told them about it, they asked me to contact the FedEx. I was so upset at this point and told them to contact FedEx. They kept asking me to contact the FedEx, but I told them I didn't even know what to say to FedEx since it was delivered to a wrong person at wrong address.
I finally told them that I was going to write a complaint letter to my local rep and the company and as soon as I said that, they offered me a new one with expedited shipping. It's been 3 weeks and my wife still doesn't have her toothbrush. I bought her Oral-B and she is doing fine with it. I am terrified with Philips customer service and the products. I have recommended Sonicare toothbrush to a lot of my patients every day, but I am no longer doing it.
Here is why you should not use Sonicare toothbrush: 1. It breaks down within a year or two. 2. It is more expensive compared to Oral-B; although its design looks better, Oral-B's circular brushing motion seems to be working better for the gum and teeth. 3. Poor customer service 4. Replacement brush head is more expensive compared to Oral-B.

The following day I got an e-mail from Encompass that a WHITE replacement was being sent. I called them immediately since mine was a more expensive pink model. They told me to call Philips. We purchased a Philips Sonicare Diamond Toothbrush about 11 months ago, well within the warranty. About a week ago, the toothbrush stopped working. We brought this matter to the customer service on the phone, and only learned by surprised that Philips has recently (early Aug 2018) changed their warranty policy without noticing any of their existing customers. In addition, the agent stated that since they have just changed the policy, they do not need to honor the old policy we received as we bought the product. Is this even legal???
Anyway, in our case, it resonants with a previous case I read here posted also Aug. 2018! Basically, Philips refuses to send us a replacement unless we sent the defect product first. However, this causes additional inconvenience! Shouldn't the customers' interest be placed at the first?! In comparison, the old (pre-Aug. 2018) Philips policy is to first send a replacement, then customers return the defect product. The reason I brought up the Aug. 2018 post I read here is that, it seems crazy to me that Philips can just abruptly change their policy. In this case, the customer is so unlucky, if the case was brought up literally a few days earlier, then he/she can be treated differently! How can this happen in America?

Ordered a warranty replacement brush after 1 year as the one I had stopped working intermittently during the brushing cycle. Replacement process was PAINFUL. Got email confirmation replacement was on the way from their supply chain partner Encompass. NEVER sent, for a month, had to go thru the process again and 'fight' for what was promised the first time. Replacement has now exhibited SAME problems 6 weeks in. So had to call AGAIN to replace. I was hung up on twice because reps can't work the phone system, promised a call back from a 'busy' supervisor, 4 hours later nothing. Finally call for the 4th time in one day (service???) only to be told the new policy is they won't ship the new brush until you send back the old one.
When I asked why, they said because some people didn't return the old one. So, rather than find a system to penalize those that don't follow the rules (maybe ask for a card # to hold to charge if the old one not returned), the choice is to penalize EVERYONE for bad behavior by some. I have extremely sensitive teeth so the option of having to go back to a regular brush for a month + while Philips receives back my old brush and sends me a new one. Let's not mention the SAME issue happened, and they STILL will not replace the charging base as well as the handle. LOUSY product development, lousy customer service. Will not pay good money for another Sonicare again.

I owned 3 Philips Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrushes - ALL 3 stopped working after the end of the second year; which coincidentally is when the warranty comes to an end... this is a simple toothbrush that uses a vibrating coil to help clean teeth... Philips either can't produce a simple toothbrush that lasts beyond the warranty... It is negligent for Philips to design products that fail on the 2nd anniversary of the warranty (expires). That is the same as conspiring to make customers buy the same product over & over again. That is not called a purchase, that is called a subscription. Notwithstanding the fact that there are YouTube videos online showing how Philips are using substandard rechargeable batteries when they can use superior batteries. At this price point, it was unfair to expect customer to throw away good money after bad, replacing a £140+ toothbrush every two years. Cars are more reliable.

So according to a guy on YouTube who shows you how to replace the crappy battery Phillips puts in its toothbrushes, the rechargeable battery they use just stops working after a year. I think I've had my toothbrush less than a year. Anyway, he has a video showing how to replace their awful battery with a lithium ion battery. It requires a soldering iron. Yeah, no thanks. I'll just trash this one (which is sad, because how many of these things are now filling up landfills???) and get a different brand!

I've been trying for a couple of months now to get a replacement for my original handle and am told that it's not available. I've even requested to at least receive a voucher for my original purchase amount so that I could pay the difference and am met with constant refusal. Today's call was the last straw. Jason was rude and unapologetic and told me that there was no one higher than him that I could speak/talk/or communicate with. I will continue to press on to speak with someone else if for no other reason than to elaborate on his unprofessionalism and poor service. This was my first and last Sonicare product (Healthy White). My experience with the customer service rep was pleasant, however it went nowhere. I was informed I may receive a call back in a week. I'm on my second Sonic Care brush. My first one cost approx $200 and lasted for a good amount of time. The second one, was only around $100 and it did not make it six months. Was hoping for a voucher to put towards another purchase, but instead they want to look into it. The brush currently sounds like it's grinding rocks, there's barely any speed to the head and a blackish liquid is discharging.
I'm not waiting for this company to figure themselves out and meanwhile the brush just completely breaks. I will be moving forward with another company/product. Further, while Philips figures out their solution, I will be displaying videos of the faulty product on my IG page (approx 5,000 followers), my YouTube channel and my Facebook (approx 2,000) friends and any other social media I deem fit in order to deter people from purchasing this product. I have been using/purchasing Sonicare toothbrushes for decades! I am a dental care professional and used to praise their products however I have had 4 Diamonclean brushes stop working in the same symptomatic fashion recently. They start to vibrate at a high velocity, blowing water all over your face then within 2 weeks just stop working. I tried switching heads, resetting the brush & even switched chargers, nothing stops this decline. One of them even leaked a black ooze that I learned was a lubricant from inside.
Since I am a dental professional and a once advocate of Sonicare quality I contacted Sonicare. Come to find out even though I had 3 toothbrushes all die near the same time I thought Sonicare would “care”! BUT rather they told me that myself & my family must push too hard while brushing! They sent me 1 replacement that they swear is not refurbished and guess what? It’s doing the same thing and just died tonight, only 2 weeks after getting it. At $180 a piece my family is put around $720!!! Just a disgrace!

I called Phillips and asked if they want me to return it so they can investigate but they weren’t interested (probably they already know how frequent this happens). They sent a replacement body. So this is the second brush - stopped charging a year later. Phillips was nice to send a third replacement - that again stopped charging after 3 months. Looking at the reviews, their batteries have a HUGE problem - either it explodes or stops charging. For a $200 toothbrush, that doesn’t seem to be cost-efficient.

You will be reimbursed. Same thing with renting a car. Your credit card may cover accidents, personal liability for damages on a ran a car provided you charge the car with your credit card. About a year ago, as a Christmas present, my mother bought me a FlexCare toothbrush from Sonicare. I had no problems with my toothbrush and enjoyed it for the whole time I had it. I felt like the brush did a good job actually cleaning my teeth and gums and I thought the vibrations that marked each 30-second interval were very helpful and forced me to adapt better oral health habits. I used the whitening feature occasionally (not twice daily though) and actually noticed a difference in the color of my teeth (though I also switched my toothpaste as well). The ultraviolet cleaning station (for the brush heads) was also a nice luxury.
Around Christmas time the following year, luckily, within the time span for my warranty, my toothbrush started going off when I wasn't pressing the on button, and would do this at all hours of the night until it lost battery. I called customer service and they readily agreed to send me a new brush. When the new brush arrived, I was surprised to see that it was a black color, though my original brush was white, as was the charging station and my replacement heads. Though this wasn't a significant problem, I was slightly upset and called customer service to see if I could exchange my unused black brush for one in white.
The representative I talked to was extremely nice and very professional. She explained that they were out of stock in my model in the color white and offered to send me an UPGRADED model, the white FlexCare Plus. Sonicare EXCEEDED my expectations not only with their product, but also surprised me with their OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would recommend this product and this company to anyone and everyone.

I have been using an Oral-B electric toothbrush for many years without a problem. When I was out of town visiting family, I used their Sonicare as I forgot to pack a brush. The brush vibrates extremely fast and furious. After a couple days, the last molar which had a crown came off while I was brushing my teeth. Went to the dentist I used when I was living there and he recemented it. Couple days later the molar next to the one with the crown came off (also with a crown) when I was using the Sonicare. When I came home, I showed my dentist and he said the top of the tooth was in the crown and he had to put in a new pin and try to save the crown/molar. Called Costco and relayed the above.
Then I contacted Phillips and told them the brush is too aggressive and it did damage to my teeth. I want them to reimburse me for the damage. Went back and forth with different people over a couple months. Ended up sending the toothbrush back to them as they requested with their return envelope. They never sent me forms to fill out and copies of my receipts for the bills as promised. Of course this is classic runaround avoid dealing with the customer and it will go away. Have not heard a thing since returning the toothbrush. 3 months.
A huge corporation deals with customers from Costco like this? I trust Costco, but where are they to help? This toothbrush is not good if you have crowns, caps, fillings, bridges etc. It's dangerous as I have found out the hard way. I guess Phillips wants to keep this quiet as I think the majority of people have some work on their teeth. If the brush cracks the cement and teeth I pay for the damages. They should pay me. I use Oral-B electric for years no problems. But the first time using Sonicare, it breaks my teeth. Where should I go from here? I feel totally ripped off.

The toothbrush handle turned on (on its own) in the middle of the night and it wouldn't shut off no matter how many times I pressed the button. This happened within the first two years and Philips refuses to replace the toothbrush handle and stated in an email their warranty only covers the full box set. This is ridiculous as I only needed the handle as the original accessories I had were still operational.
The original toothbrush failed and was out of warranty so I only needed the handle, which is sold online by Sonicare and the warranty references them a 2 year warranty on all toothbrushes. I read every piece of documentation stating the same and politely asked Philips to send me evidence that the toothbrush handle is excluded from the printed warranty. At first it seemed strange so I went up online to see if others have had the same problem. It turns out, many, many people have had the same problem with these Sonicare brushes.
On February, I decided to file a claim with Philips. I went to their website to send them an e-mail and, curious enough, they have no e-mail for customer service. Only phone or chat. I tried the chat and spoke with someone that said Philips would send replacements only after verifying proof of purchase. Since it had been a while, I had to drive to Costco to get a copy of the invoice. I scanned it and sent it to the e-mail address provided by the rep on the chat, which not coincidentally, belongs to Sitel which is a third-party customer service company.
I never got a reply (not to this day) and I had to call back at least three times. I was told on the phone that the brushes sold at Costco, being a double set, were approved on a different criteria so they said my case was "escalated" but again, I never received correspondence, calls or any other means of confirmation or follow-up.
After two months of waiting I decided to simply switch brands so I purchased two new brushes from another company. Two months I waited. Mind you, if you go to their website (http://www.usa.philips.com) you'll see there's no e-mail for support or warranty claims and the reason is, they hired these people at Sitel to do it for them and frankly, leaving a customer waiting two months for TOOTHBRUSHES don't speak very high of their practices. So very disappointing & upset that this toothbrush broke. The toothbrush head moves 360 degrees - rather than securely fit to the handle & feels like it's going to fall off into my mouth if I try to brush my teeth with this brush. I called their customer service today and explained that I had bought 2 brushes for my husband & myself (I still have the receipt) less than 3 years ago. My husband's brush still works fine, but mine clearly had a flaw & is inoperable. Additionally, I just bought a 6-pack refill for the toothbrushes - of which, I can't use now! So had I filled out the registration, they would have replaced my toothbrush up to 2.5 years.
Well, like any "warranty" it's 2.8 years & they will only give me 15% coupon code - to buy only on their website. I spent $313.80 (for 2 Sonicare Diamond Tooth Brushes before tax), plus a few rounds of 6-pack refill brushes over the 2 years & now my best option is to pay ANOTHER $186.99 (15% OFF their website via coupon code they provided me). Adding that up - If I were to buy ANOTHER TOOTHBRUSH... I'm at $500.79 for toothbrushes (plus 6-pack refills I've bought along the way). It just really doesn't seem right to have to buy another toothbrush in a short time. 5 years, mmm... ok - wouldn't be complaining but when Phillips clearly covers a toothbrush up to 2.5 years & I'm at 2.8 years. Ridiculous.
I'm not forking over more money when I'm in fear that the toothbrush is going to break in another 2 years & I'm having to buy another one. This experience (the broken tooth brush & the "support" care line) has negatively impacted my opinion on the Phillips brand named products & I will certainly not have the confidence to buy any products with the Phillips branded name attached to it. Buyers beware. Very Disappointing Experience.

I wrote a review of their product recently and it was rejected (As a note, I followed the guidelines). The company recently switched their replacement heads to the "Diamond Clean". It is the only head available for sale at my dental office. The office has tried and cannot get the older head to sell. I was a dental hygienist for 26 years and highly recommended their product up until recently.
The newer head does not clean as well as the older "Pro result" head. The brushes and replacement heads are cheaply made compared to the older versions and much smaller. I would have thought the company would be interested in a professional opinion. Perhaps when they start losing market share, they will start to listen. I did suggest I would now consider a competitor's product because of their latest "advances". Maybe that was why it was rejected by their website. Hey Phillips! - consumers are not that easily fooled. Note: the older heads are still available online, but it is sad that they have ruined a great product as well as customer service.

About 6-7 months ago I noticed a slimy fungus growing inside the recessed part of the handle where the head fits in with the brush. I cleaned it with peroxide and let it dry before using it again. Well, it happened again. I repeated this process 3-4 times before giving up and going to a traditional toothbrush. I also noticed a swelling in my face at the site of a recent dental implant. I've been to 3 dental specialists and an ENT, plastic surgeon and dermatologist. None of them could explain the idiopathic edema at this focal site. I began to wonder if the black fungus from the Sonicare was responsible for this swelling.
I'm now going to take the crown off and take oral medication to see if the swelling will subside. If that doesn't work then I have to go through the process of removing the implant. Thankfully there is no pain, just the typical questions like, do you chew tobacco? Did you have stroke? What's going on with your face? Maybe Sonicare knows more about this than just replacing my handle, which they did because this is not the first complaint. The toothbrush experience was disgusting and hopefully my asymmetrical face will return to normal. Thanks Sonicare!

It is totally unfair to put a consumer through multiple emails, phone calls, mailings, scans, etc. in order to get a refund for a returned product. I returned a toothbrush, paid for shipping, filled out and mailed Philip's forms, sent the original receipt and all of the information they required. A phone call to them showed that they received everything and now all I had to do was wait for my refund. Nine weeks later - no refund. I called. The phone call confirmed, "Yes, we received everything. I can't understand the hold-up. Let me see what's going on and we'll email you the result." The result was an email saying that I had to send the receipt again AND the tracking number in order to REPROCESS my refund!
What happens to the average consumer who doesn't copy their receipt? What happens to the average consumer who confirms that the package has been delivered back to Philips and feels that they no longer have to save the tracking number? I have lodged my complaint with Philips. In a case where their own records showed that I did everything I was supposed to - A CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE TOLD THEY HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN!! I'm just lucky that I saved that information and have a scan of my original receipt, but I'm not even sure that "reprocessing" will get me a refund. So now I sit back and wait - AGAIN! I will NEVER purchase another Philips product.

I've decided (they are all made in CHINA by the way) I HATE THE PHILIPS (SONICARE TOOTHBRUSHES) COMPANY. Online: The way Sonicare sets you up to buy from a bazillion choices including what heads go with what brush with what series with what item number, then look at the prices to determine what is best for you! ** Ugh! NEED A NEW 224.95 dollar toothbrush? or a 159.95 dollar toothbrush that lasts 2 years? Philips will actually sell one to you and not feel a bit bad. It costs them HOW MUCH to make these in China? People need these toothbrushes. True. But, evidently SONICARE PHILIPS thinks their product is made of gold. Rrrrrrr! Sincerely, a very nice lady that has had it with Philips prices. ~drop the mic~

I have had a Sonicare toothbrush for many years and it has suddenly stopped working due to the timer. I've made sure that it is fully charged, but still will not run more than just a few seconds and stop, and I have to keep pressing the button to keep it running. Does the rechargeable battery need to be replaced? I love this toothbrush, so please let me know what needs to be done to fix it.

After reading other posts here I was prepared for the worst. However, I must say Philips was AWESOME. The matter was handled in less than 5 minutes using a pop-up customer service chat window. The agent was quick, efficient and advised I will be receiving a replacement within 7-10 days. Guess they got the message from all the terrible feedback!

Rebates that are a scam and never pay consumer. You buy and send in what is required with the upc from the product and fill out the required form. And some other 3rd party doesn't have a clue and tells you that you did not send in what is required. I have sent this in before and had the same result. I won't buy sonic products and word of mouth is a good thing.

I paid $105.00 for the Sonicare Toothbrush. I admit it did a fine job of cleaning mine and my wife's teeth. But for a company to intentionally build a appliance to become useless after nothing but having dead batteries is really lame. The working part of the brush was working just fine and required nothing but new replacement NICad Rechargeable Batteries. In order to get the batteries out of the handle you have to literally destroy the handle. They are epoxy glued in and cannot be replaced. (This brush is not the type that has the screw in bottom. It is the type where the housing is epoxy glued together and very difficult to open up). Don't buy the the type without the screw in bottom. The type that is made this way. The type that you can unscrew looks to be easy to replace with only a soldering iron.

I bought a series 2 sonicare toothbrush in march of 2015. The head falls off after one week of use. I sent the whole box back like I was instructed. They sent me my old handle back without my original box or charger or brush head. Then a week later they sent me 2 new heads and my charger... minus the original box. The brush still falls off and after 4 phone calls one being to the corporate office I'm still getting no place. I explained this is a safety concern and their reply was the same. "We will call you back in 24-48 hours".... It's May 13th and I still have no response. This is very sad as the first sonicare series 1 lasted me 8 years!

How do you expect to keep it charged (Duh). Did you wash it with bleach? hydrogen peroxide, Listerine, and yada, yada, yada.

After purchasing the most expensive model (the Diamond) the process to simply get $20 back since last November 15 has been horrible. They use a 3rd party processing firm (learned this after talking to many customer service reps) to provide to process rebates (but don't actually process them). After numerous calls, re-mailing and faxing to a number that never works - I give up. It's been impossible and horrible experience. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT OF THEIRS.

I purchased this Sonicare HX6210 and it was very loud and it lost had minimal power. I contacted Sonicare and they sent a new replacement. I just received it today and it is 4 times as loud and does not have any cleaning power. I've contacted Sonicare again and they offered to send out yet another replacement. Now I decided I'd like to get my money back via their 90 day offer. However now I'm told that I have to pay for return shipping etc for that. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL. Very disappointed as I offered to purchase a different upgraded model and they could apply the difference of this model towards the other one and they said no.

I have just purchased my 3rd Phillips Sonicare Toothbrush system. Because I have many toothbrush heads for their "Entry" brush system I was not interested in looking at a different system. My previous systems let me know when the 30 seconds was up to change to another section of my mouth. This one does not have that feature. I have written to their chat line and talked to their customer service department. In chat they told me I would have to talk to customer service. In customer service I was told "sorry the screw in brush system doesn't have that feature." No suggestions and no help. Won't be purchasing this again.

FLEXCARE PLUS SONICARE TOOTHBRUSH MODEL HX6950 - This is the second replacement for the handle. Both times the brush heads fell off while brushing my teeth. Since, it was just purchased less than a year ago it was under warranty. The first brush handle was replaced without a problem. But, a month later the same issue occurred. I called sonicare. The customer service rep argued with me about the problem and then disconnected the call! It appears that Sonicare makes inferior products, which they are not willing to stand behind. I paid lots of money for a toothbrush and got junk in return. It's the last time Phillips Sonicare will rip me off. I'm going to try other brands. Not so much as a penny will Sonicare get from me, Ever! I will never, never recommend a Phillips product to anyone. Inferior product and inferior customer service!!!

I purchased a new diamond care Sonicare through my dentist for about 200$, which is a lot for a toothbrush as it is. I have used Sonicares since they first came about and have been a loyal customer always buying the newest ones. I actually just ordered the new black one for 220$. Wish I could return it now. I received two brush heads in my pack. The first was fine, the second head (larger one) was obviously defective. It had a very loud vibration that was uncomfortable to the mouth. I called Sonicare and the representative explained that it was defective, but they were not going to do anything but give me a 15% off coupon! I told them I would send the head back at my cost so they could see it was unused and clearly defected. He explained they could do nothing for me, sorry. How can you sell a defective product and not stand behind it!? These toothbrush heads are very costly. I have a new view on Sonicare and will be looking at other brands.

I also have same product and it start develop molds and getting worse day by day. Philips told me its my fault. I should clean it properly and should not keep it in bath room with humid air. They were not very much helpful. They should have designed a product keeping humid in mind, as you can't take humid away from bath. Toothbrush is a product of bath. Poor design and poor after sale support.

This Sonicare toothbrush is another horrible piece of Chinese crap. The rubber washer into plastic vibrating end lets in germs from cleaning and there is no sealing washer for the screw on head, allowing more germs in. After a while, maybe as short as a month, there is a horrible buildup of germs inside the hole in the handle for screw on tip. The Philips Company is sickening and they put out 4.5 million of lowlife dollars to keep Congress from doing anything about this. I think I got sick from this until I unscrewed the head and found a horrible smell and stuff growing inside. This is a piece of trash!

The handle of my toothbrush (Sonicare Toothbrush) started developing mold and mildew spots about a year after purchase. It is in one of the seams, which is obviously defective and did not seal well or something, when made. Other family members' brushes are fine, purchased at the same time. I purchased it from my dental office and they said I should call their representative, Mackie **, after receiving no help from customer service. If you’re out of warranty, they do not want to help or talk to you.
I thought they might want to see the photos I took so they can check into the defect, but no, they're not interested and definitely not helpful. I called the representative and she never returned my call, so no help there either. It is very frustrating and unsanitary. The brush performs quite well, just is disgusting to be touching mold all the time.

I purchased a Sonic care toothbrush in August 2009. I used it until January 2010. The item was thirty dollars. The problem I had was when I installed new batteries in January, the product off/on switch failed to work. I had just recently spent an additional 28 dollars on new replacement heads, they make you buy 2. I think they make the thing so that it will malfunction when batteries are added and then "hopefully" the schmuck consumer will go and "throw" thirty bucks at another one!

I purchased an Elite model 9500 and had to have it replaced under warranty because the on/off button fell out. The replacement I was sent was the R710. This has only one brush head and no cord storage. The 9500 had two brush heads and cord storage in the base. Their R732 model has two brush heads and cord storage. I explained this to the customer service rep I spoke with on the phone and also explained that on amazon.com, the 9500 and R732 are the same price and the R710 is $20 cheaper, indicating it is not an equivalent replacement for the 9500. I was rudely told that the R710 is better than the 9500 and that I could not get an R732 as a warranty replacement. I will never buy another Sonicare product again, and I will be careful to avoid buying anything made by Philips since they obviously make defective products which they refuse to stand behind.
