    What a scam. If I could give zero stars I would. They hound you for the money and the second you pay you cannot get in touch. I have not, nor will I approve my treatment plan. If they couldn’t fix anything they could have simply told me to take my business elsewhere. I have reached out over ten times to speak to someone as they claim “someone will call you back in 24 hours”…. Nothing. They got my money and then I saw the treatment plan and do not want to proceed but they refuse to answer anything. What an absolute disappointment.

    I’ll be letting everyone I know made aware of what a joke this company is. BBB has also been made aware and if you don’t believe me check those comments too because there’s a lot of similar ones there. I wish I would’ve read those prior to purchasing. My bottom teeth were the ones that needed the most help and their “plan” consisted of no changes but still charged me the full price. If I knew nothing could be fixed I would’ve never paid.

    Byte is the easiest option and the most affordable among other companies when I did a Google search. I had braces when I was younger. And my dog recently ate my retainers. My teeth started shifting fast. I did not want to go back to my pre-braces smile. I decided to do Byte just because my teeth had shifted. I wanted to make that correction rather than get new retainers.

    My experience with them has been great, so far. The whole process has been very simple from getting my impressions to the turnaround. I also have been impressed with how fast the turnaround time has been. It said three to five weeks and I've gotten them within a week. I wear them 20 to 22 hours a day. I try to do my best. But I'm a teacher and sometimes I don't have the opportunity to put them in right at the second. But they felt great. They've been super easy. Aside from the normal discomfort of your teeth shifting, it's been fine. I wear them as often as I can.

    I was talking to a friend who was getting her teeth fixed and it made me start thinking about my own teeth. I never bothered with braces when I was a kid. I never thought I had a bad smile and I was lucky that way. However, I did a video recently and put it on Facebook and I realized one tooth didn't look right. I thought, "I don't think that was always that way." My teeth have always been a little crooked, but maybe they're getting worse as I get older. I figured, "Hey, at least the ones on the bottom, they're starting to look like a jack-o'-lantern." I started looking at all of the companies and Byte had good reviews. I wanted to fix the ones on the bottom, but when I did the thing, it looked like they were going to do the top and the bottom.

    When I did the sizing, I was in a bit of a panic. It didn't feel very good to me because of having that much in my mouth. The way where it was pressing like that made me wanna gag. I tried to relax and get through it, but it wasn't quick and painless. It didn't hurt, but it wasn't as smooth as they made it out to be. I was very uncomfortable for that minute and a half that I had the thing in my mouth, and I haven't gotten the retainers. I don't even know what they look like.

    Customer support sent me emails saying they couldn't get me on the phone. I said, "I don't know why you need to get me on the phone. What do you want?" They kept saying, "Hey, we've been trying to reach you." I said, "You're sending me emails. Aren't you reaching me?" I got the impression that they wanted to talk to me on the phone so they could talk me into something. So the more they did that, the more I said, "No, I don't wanna talk to you. You could send me emails and I'll read them at my leisure."

    I'm really happy with the results. I had braces two times before this, and this is the best. They look better than how my teeth looked after braces. The aligners are more comfortable too. They're easier to clean them after food or something. Once you have braces, when you eat, you have to clean every corner. It's hard. This ones, you can pop out when you're eating. And I clean mine with baking soda and vinegar. They come out completely brand new every time, every day.

    When I was looking up retainer options, Byte was cheaper for the all-day plan. I got it for my bottom teeth as one was sticking forward out of place. It's brought it back in in line with the rest of them. When one of my sets had broken, we had to readjust from there and they were helpful with that process. My dad is funding it, and he was trying to get it on to our insurance, which they said we qualified for. They had to send over a form and they were corresponding on that for a couple of weeks. Then they never ended up sending it. They stopped answering my dad so we never got the insurance back for that, which is something strange because he hasn't been able to get into contact with them since then.

    What a horrible company that is sales driven and once they make a sale they could care less to help you! I was LIED to when I was told my upcoming root canal would NOT affect anything and I could as a matter of fact get new aligners for FREE if needed. I have the messages stating this! Yet they don’t care that I am profoundly unhappy with my $3,000 aligners. They don’t even have any interest in helping me at this point. Please know that if you are getting any work done do NOT listen to the sales people because they are liars and after they lie to you no one even acknowledge that it happened!     I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern with Byte regarding my recent experience with the payment plan/Care Credit process. If I could provide a score of zero, I would, as my journey so far has been anything but smooth. When I spoke with my advisor, I was under the impression that I was only pre-qualifying for Care Credit and that payments would not begin until I received a balance email. To my surprise, I found that charges were applied to my card without clear communication. This felt rushed and, quite frankly, overwhelming. I realize now that I should have taken a moment to slow down the conversation, but the approach felt very much like a poor approach to a sales tactic.

    Since then, I have reached out to customer service numerous times, using various channels—chat, calls, and even contacting my advisor directly. Unfortunately, I have received no responses, and I feel lost without a clear point of contact. My advisor access has been removed, leaving me uncertain about who to turn to for assistance.

    As a retired disabled veteran, I face unique challenges in accessing my dental records, which have recently transitioned from active duty to VA dental. I paid for my services upfront, believing it was a step toward my treatment, but now I find myself struggling to navigate these complications. I also do not have a dentist at this time, which is part of the qualifications for treatment... Adding to my difficulties, I was impacted by Hurricane Helene in Florida, which has caused unexpected financial strains. The current payment plan feels unmanageable given my situation, and I am seeking a reasonable solution.

    I genuinely approached this process with excitement, hoping to begin my treatment journey, but I am now feeling disheartened by the lack of communication and support. My advisor was lovely in the beginning until I shared with her that I am experiencing some financial difficulties, then it was just telling me to approve my treatment plan, which I have not. She informed me that since my aligners have gone to production, I cannot cancel... how did they go to production with no approved treatment plan, no dental records, and no current dentist. I am reaching out in hopes that someone can help me find a resolution. If anyone has had a similar experience or can provide guidance, I would greatly appreciate your support.

    First this company started okay. I was able to talk to someone in person through emails, phone calls, even a video chat. I started the night aligners. Byte claimed that satisfactory alignment will occur in about 7-8 months. That did not happen. I understood part of that because your teeth are changing and it needs be re-evaluated from time to time. The communication between Byte got less and less as my treatment went on. It was almost impossible to get in touch with anyone in person. When I would receive emails in response to my questions, I would always get someone different and some impersonal automated messages. After almost 2 years, my teeth remains unsatisfactory.

    I finally asked for a retainer because I was done with them and I didn't want to lose the progress I did have. They kept sending the impression kit over and over saying it was not good enough. Funny how when I first sent my impression at the very beginning without any practice, Byte was quick enough to start a treatment plan and get my money. I even reported Byte to Better business bureau. I received two exact same reply that someone would be in touch to reconcile my complaint. Well, no one did. I will have to go to a orthodontist to fix my teeth that Byte was not able to do and spend even more money. I would really advise people to not use Byte. Maybe they started out responsive to their customers in the beginning but clearly that is NOT the case any longer. I know it can be a hassle to go to appointments but that would be far better than trying to speak to someone from Byte.

    There was a little crowding with my teeth after having braces and I wasn't gonna do anything about it because I didn't wanna have something that showed up for a few months until I realized there was an option that I could do it without having the appearance of doing it. With Invisalign or some other products, they put things on your teeth. But with Byte, I like how they have the night time only option, that I could take them out during the day and no one would be able to see anything. I haven't gotten the product yet but everything has gone well up so far.

    Horrific experience and app. No follow up. I emailed and sent info numerous times to be met with a different person giving me different direction. Every time it is like hitting reset on my complaint. I followed the plan to the exact detail. I did not get the "after" results like they stated. I tried getting resolution and it has been non-existent. I also tried asking for a refund and they do not reply. STAY AWAY!!!! RIP OFF ALERT!!!! SCAM!!! I should have followed my gut feeling and went with another company. I am so disgusted by the way they run from follow up. Once again, every time they reach out they ask for more photos that I already sent NUMEROUS times. It is exhausting. They hide the review link. I had to lie to their AI Bot and say I wanted to leave a 5-Star review and IMMEDIATELY had multiple review links. They protect their reviews by not allowing it unless it is vetted. Sad!!! Unethical!!!

    Byte was cheaper. It has changed the smile, which is good. However, Byte should have a more realistic timeline. It's gonna take a lot longer than you think. Ask your dentist first. It wasn't one week every aligner. It was a lot longer than that for me. I'm still in them. Byte's version was 16 weeks and I might be on 30 weeks or even more. At first, the aligners were good. There was one week that it was off and that ruined everything. I had to go back a few weeks. Also, Byte gave one small supply of the cleaner for the retainers. Because it took much longer, I had to get more.

    Certainly! Here’s a revised version of your feedback: My experience with Byte has been one of frustration and disappointment. From the start, the process was sales-driven, with phone calls and consultations that felt more focused on closing the deal than providing real support. Despite having orthodontic coverage through my insurance, their insurance department refused to submit a prior authorization on my behalf. I had to persistently request codes and an itemized receipt, including the orthodontist’s name, just to submit it myself.

    While the aligners arrived in a reasonable timeframe, the fit was poor, causing my gums to bleed. I assumed this would be a simple fix, but I was wrong. Despite submitting multiple sets of photos, an “alignment check,” and even a video, the issue remains unresolved. When I escalated the situation, I was told it was “in progress,” with no opportunity to speak to a manager. Later, I received a follow-up stating that the team had trouble accessing my photos and asking me to resend them—without specifying which ones.

    Although Byte responds within their five-day window, these responses often seem like stalling tactics to buy more time. While there are plenty of people to talk to, none of them seem to be the right person, and no management seems involved in the process. Comparing the aligners I received from Byte with those from Smile Direct, I’ve noticed Byte’s products appear to be of lower quality.

    If you’re considering Byte, be aware that there’s a 20-25% chance you might be left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Many of the so-called “review” sites may not be providing accurate feedback, so do your research and be sure you’re getting the full picture before making a purchase. (I technically don’t even have one set of aligners I’m approved to wear at this time and it’s been months since starting this adventure. I’ve spent over 7 hours on the phone talking and texting with their representatives. All to fix a little annoying gap between my two front teeth)

    Hello. And Byte sucks. The whole process was horrible. I got my impression kit sent it in then they stated I needed to pay and they didn't even have my dental records which they couldn't get because they changed my dentist phone number into an email which was not correct thing to do so I had to go get my dental records myself and send them in now a month and 3 weeks went by I'm calling about my aligners and no one is ever there to talk because the dentist advisor is never available. Which is a separate entity just like the dentist under byte..

    Byte advisors and the dental side does not communicate with the consumer or the dental advisor until 3 to 5 business days VIA email. So with all that being said it's 3 different entities coming together to make aligners. I never received my aligners because after I paid and after they sent emails stating I was a good candidate for byte aligners which all was a lie. 2 months, 2 weeks later they decided I wasn't a good candidate and now I'm fighting them back for my refund. This whole thing could of been better if the 3 entities would communicate with each other. Never again. Now I have no choice but to go to a real dentist in a building that I can go to and ask questions and get better communication results then maybe I can get my aligners.

    I started Byte 4 yrs. ago. Beware they take on patients that they should not have. After 4 yrs. I wanted to end treatment because I have two teeth making no progress, they refused. I have been jumping through hoops with them and have hundreds of emails for proof. Now I'm in a spot where I'll need to pay for traditional braces. It's a waste of time and money in my opinion. They also send you free product if you write a "good review" on these sites and send them photos of it. I feel like I've been lied to & deceived. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    The experience I had with Byte was a not so good one. To make it super brief, I paid under $20 for impressions and returned them for review. A treatment plan was created and that’s it. I never turned in Dental records, nothing was manufactured and I already started making monthly payments. In the midst, I went to see a dentist. We discussed my plans and goals and I decided that I will go the route of braces instead of aligners. I quickly informed Camrey, my Byte rep as soon as I found out and from there it was a nightmare of trying to get her or someone else to call me back so I can discuss canceling treatment and getting a refund from the several hundred dollars I paid with NO product.

    In addition I simply wanted clarity. I wasn’t fighting them. I wasn’t telling them that I will not provide what they requested (a letter from the dentist) I wasn’t being one of those customers who cuss and say stupid things because they are mad. I was being absolutely reasonable with my request. I did call and speak to several people who were unable to assist me. They would all do the same thing: escalate the situation, submit a ticket and tell me I’ll get a call within 24-48 hours. Just to NEVER get a call back. I was really going through it because I did not understand why the canceling process was so difficult.

    The only thing that I would give 5 stars to is the customer service of one rep by the name of Eva. If Eva is in your office please give this woman a raise. She was patient and listened to my story. She reviewed the account and was able to see ALL the efforts and measures I was taking to get help. She took it upon herself and took matters into her own hands so that this does not happen again. She quickly submitted a ticket for a refund on the payments I have already made and informed me that everything will be canceled. That is all I needed/wanted from the beginning. Thank you soooo much EVA! Please continue providing exceptional service to your customers.

    I looked up Invisalign stuff, and I saw the Byte was a bit cheaper. So, I thought I'd go with that. I had to go through three sets of retainers. I had a bit of trouble with them at first. Byte aligned my teeth in a way where I couldn't close my mouth all the way. It was one of those things where I got one free set of refinement aligners. But they put them in wrong. They didn't fit my teeth. I had to get another one in. But they also didn't straighten my teeth right. It was 2,000 up front and I had to pay an extra 750 for the fix. I had to get it redone the third time. I didn't have to pay an extra amount to get them fixed.

    I got actual braces when I was younger. And because my 12-year-old molars hadn't come in beforehand, those didn't get moved with everything. I had a gap in my back molar that bothered me. Because every time I put my retainer in, it would push it back. My two front teeth still overlapped a bit. Byte got those taken care of. It took a while and a few tries. But I'm satisfied with it now. I'm much happier now.

    I am very disappointed with the services at Byte, I was shown a 3D model of what would be my teeth after treatment and was so happy at what I was supposed to get!! After the entire treatment from December to May my teeth were still crooked at the bottom even though I had worn my aligners every single day all day minus maybe one or two times. I’ve contacted support but since I had already gotten a retainer (after assuming it was going to be the very last step at getting my teeth straight like it felt like it did with the top teeth) they won’t help me. Now I'm stuck paying 2 grand for something that didn’t even work. Very disappointed and I will never recommend anyone to Byte.

    I am aging, and my teeth are starting to slip, so I tried to go back to what I used to have and signed up with Byte. The signup and doing the impression kit were easy and they were very attentive during that phase. However, I've been with Byte forever. I've gone through the program twice 'cause it went wrong at first. The first time threw my bite off completely. I had to redo the kit, and then they sent me the revision kit.

    I had a different experience in the initial phase, and then through the revision. In the revision, the app didn't map the new process. For all of my check-ins, the options for my answers didn't match the answers I needed to give. So, the revision phase was not as effective as the initial phase. While the initial phase didn't give me the results that I needed, from a customer service perspective, it was better. In general, my teeth are in good shape now, and my bite works right. I don't have any more issues, but since Byte asked me if I was 100% satisfied, I sent them an email today with my short list of things that I'm not totally satisfied with.

    They first sent the aligners to me that do not fit correctly on the top and will not fix them. They wanted me to pay an additional 900 fee to correct their mistake. Stay away from this company at all costs!

    Byte was advertised with my benefits through work, and I've been thinking about doing something for my teeth. Since I've had braces more than 20 years ago, some of my teeth had come out of alignment and were starting to push each other into different directions. I needed to get that fixed, and it was gonna be partially covered by insurance. Byte's customer service was really responsive for the fitting process. The molds were too large for my mouth and they were really quick to send me new ones that were smaller. So far, I've been able to get real people on the phone without much problem.

    Byte is for people who are willing to do the work themselves. The process is straightforward, but it's slow going. They have a little vibrating device that I bit down on, and that really helped to accelerate the process. Still, people need to be consistent. They had me only wearing the aligners at night to try and get 10 hours if possible, but usually, it was more like eight for me. I didn't have to do anything during the day because I took them off when I got up. I experienced some discomfort, but it's not any worse than braces.

    When I reached out to Byte, the customer service and response through text were helpful. I also like how quick their response was. I had braces when I was younger and there was one tooth that I wanted to fix on the top since then. I would put them in after I put my kids to bed at 7:00 and then wore them throughout the evening and overnight while I slept, and then took them out when I woke up in the morning. All the results were what I hoped for and I'm still waiting for one more set of my aligners to come in the mail.

    I wanted to have straighter teeth for a perfect smile and make sure that I'm photo-ready. I tried Direct Smile, but the aligners were not a good fit and made my mouth hurt. When I first tried Byte, the aligners fit perfectly. I couldn't tell anything was in my mouth. I wore them at least 23 hours a day. I only took them out when I was eating or drinking. When I take them out, I make sure that I put them in the container so I can make sure I don't forget them. When I put them back in, I never notice they're in my mouth until I'm about to eat. I forget about it, that they're there. If others want straighter teeth and quicker results, I will advise Byte.

    I started with Byte in 2020. Initially, it was a pretty decent experience until it was towards the end of my treatment. I required more treatment for my bottom teeth, so I was supposed to have extra aligners. I took my pictures and I don’t really know what happened from there, but I was too busy to chase after them and ended up not finishing my treatment. A couple of months ago, they contacted me and told me that I could get back in treatment For $700 And redo my treatment. Now that all is said and done, I see that they are trying to send me retainers to put on teeth that never got finished and are still really crooked. Why would I want to put retainers on crooked teeth and why would I spend $700 on it? I was sold on it by somebody who I thought was actually looking at my records but now I realize that a lot of their communication is done through AI.

    Even though I desperately need customer service and asked to speak to a supervisor, I am being told that I cannot and that it’s many weeks wait to speak to a supervisor. I received the impression kit, but I haven’t opened yet because I’m trying to figure out what my options might be to not have to pay $700 to keep crooked teeth in place. Beware their salespeople have no idea what you actually have going on And there is virtually no customer service. You’ll probably get a similar product elsewhere with better customer service where you will probably get to finish the treatment you paid for instead of being ripped off. I’m so sorry I ever answered their call literally on accident.

    I am happy with the results of Byte, but unhappy with their customer service. I purchased the package that came with 10 post-treatment retainers. One of the retainers that was shipped to me was defective, and I am going on 6 months trying to get it replaced. Their customer service has now twice given me a code to replace the defective retainer, and the first time it got hung up in their system and I had to spend quite a bit of time re-explaining the situation. They gave me another code to re-order, and it has now been 4 weeks with no indication that the order is being fulfilled. So it's fine if you don't have any issues that need help from customer service, but if you do have issues, it can be a lengthy and frustrating process.

    I initially wrote a one star review for this company. We sent my son’s impressions in, they congratulated us on taking the first steps to a beautiful smile, we paid in full, and then a week or so later they informed us that they couldn’t treat HALF his mouth. That was the whole reason we were using them to begin with. I requested a refund since they couldn’t treat half his mouth and they not only refused, but the customer service rep I dealt with over email was heartless and rude. Not once did he say, “let me check with my boss” or “let me investigate your case a little further…” No, he just repeatedly sent me a copy of the consent form we signed (which we signed believing we were getting whole mouth treatment!) and offered us a $400 refund out of the $3200+ we had paid.

    Buyers beware! This company is deceptive and doesn’t not do the right thing by their patients. We sent in impressions and received a congratulatory email about taking the first steps to a great smile. About a week AFTER we paid in full (over $3200!) we found out that they couldn’t treat his bottom teeth. His bottom teeth were the only reason we needed the aligners to begin with. We have absolutely no need for aligners if they can’t treat the bottom teeth. Now they are refusing to refund our money, which is insane since they can’t provide the service and treatment we paid for! I feel incredibly scammed.

    The aligners worked, 15 steps made minor changes/straightened my smile great. My only problem is I paid in full $700 for retainers and won’t send, I’ve requested for months. They keep emailing me to take photos, I send photos and still no retainers. DO NOT PAY FOR RETAINERS. They don’t even refund nor send them. They took my money.

    I used Byte to try to fix a large gap in my upper teeth. I went through the whole process, did my impressions and got a proposed treatment plan with a 3d model showing the gap would close over the course of a 9 week treatment plan, so I pulled the trigger on the nighttime aligners. I followed every step, the aligners fit terribly, were uncomfortable and painful. I continually reached out to Byte to let them know and was told to keep going. Finally by step 5 out of 9 I noticed the gap in my teeth hadn’t moved at all. So I took a look at my step 9 aligners and the gap was still there on my final step. No different than step 1.

    Once again I reached out to Byte and was told that not all plans achieve the desired result. I requested a refund and was told that was impossible since the crappy aligners had already been made. I ended up opening a dispute case with Care Credit who I used to finance the aligners. STAY AWAY FROM BYTE! They use deceptive business practices to get you to purchase the product, and if it doesn’t work, you may be stuck paying for it anyway!

    Terrible customer service and my teeth are still not even close to as promised. I flagged my concerns about a month before I was scheduled to complete the treatment plan and was told they couldn’t discuss a touch up until after it was done. I completed it, and then it took three weeks and 3 rounds of photo submissions to get approval for a touch up. Now they’re telling me it’ll be up to 4 more weeks before I get the new retainers so that’s nearly a 2 month delay in treatment. Furthermore they’re not taking any new impressions, just basing it on photos which concerns me. Definitely not worth $2K+.

    BEWARE AND DO RESEARCH! I will say the experience was great and super easy, but at first they told me I was a good candidate. They gave me my treatment plan and pricing they were very pushy about getting me to pay. The whole cost was about $3500 And right before I was ready to commit, they came back and told me that I was only a candidate for my upper Arch. My price was still the same however they told me I qualified for $500 discount. Just be careful and wait to get all the information before thinking about paying. Ask all the questions! You know the saying "if it sounds too good to be true"..

    I had braces as a kid, and then wore my retainers and my retainers didn't really keep the teeth in their proper position. My front two teeth just spread. So I had a small gap. Not noticeable to most, but it was very noticeable to me. I wanted to make sure I got that closed up and was able to do so with Byte. I did the night-only aligners. I wore them for about 10 hours. I wore them after I brush my teeth at night, and then until I brush my teeth in the morning. I had no pain at all. Very comfortable. Never had any issues with the retainers not fitting properly nor hurting my gums at all. I've got to the point where my teeth are back to being straight like I've always wanted them to be and there's no gap. The process has always been smooth and easy. I never had any issues with Byte.     I chose Byte after my dentist quoted me $8k for Invisalign and there was no way I could spend that as a college student at the time. I chose byte and spent little under 2k. Still costs a lot but not close to other companies. My top teeth were straight but my bottom were pretty uneven so that was my main goal. My treatment started in October and was supposed to end in April. In the middle of my treatment I found tons of reviews from other customers saying they all had to extend their treatments due to it not fixing what it was supposed to which was a red flag. I reached April and two of my bottom teeth were completely out of line still. I had backtracked in my retainers, wore them over the recommended periods, and used the hyperbyte tool they give you for help. None of this fixed it so I had to contact byte.

    The first issue with this is that their customer service is HORRIBLE. I spoke to a representative and he submitted a ticket to my doctor. They said they would fix it and finish my treatment by sending me a new box. They sent a box of (7) completely straight set of aligners… as my bottom were still not straight I couldn’t fit them in my mouth at all. I had to contact again and they said to just push them onto my teeth and make them fit.

    Upon initial eval, I was told 6 months to straighten my teeth; I am currently in year 4 of treatment. Very difficult to get an answer, and when you do, you get different answers from multiple sources (phone call from rep, email from clinical team, another email from what seems to be an automated source; oh, and once they respond weeks later, you have 72h to respond or your warranty is void). Once you get a final answer, it takes approx 3 months to get the new aligners, take pics, send molds, etc. In the end, my teeth are significantly straighter than before, although not "braces" perfect. Basically I'm done dealing with them so I said they were straight enough. Must be diligent and a self-advocate to use this company... And have A LOT of spare time to deal with all the phone calls and emails. I had it to do over, I'd just get traditional braces.

Had a dental emergency, had to pause treatment, they didn’t care. Want me to pay another $1300 even though I wore my aligners every night while paused. You will not get what you pay for.     Byte is a huge scam. Kept pressuring me multiple times a day to sign my treatment plan before it expired so I signed it, only to discover that the plan doesn’t even straighten my teeth. I was not informed that byte wasn’t even addressing certain teeth. My treatment plan doesn’t include any movement on my bottom teeth which are my most problematic area. Called them about my concerns and they gave me a vague answer telling me that it’s early on in treatment. Want to see the before and after for my $2500 plan? Can’t tell the difference? Me neither.

    I had braces when I was younger. I did not properly wear my retainers and over the last couple of years, I've noticed slight changes in my teeth. Most people wouldn't notice them. They were something to me. So, I was looking for a solution to that, but one that I wouldn't really have to wear during the day because I deal with a lot of clients.     My first round of Byte did not straighten my teeth as promised with 12 steps. I got a new set of aligners free of charge with 14 steps. I made it to step 9 and then my step 10 would not fit. Also my step 11 were in my step 10 bag (clearly, poor manufacturing practices). I had to send multiple emails with multiple pictures and Byte never resolved my issue. They just kept asking for more pictures delaying my treatment. I have tried multiple times to end treatment and just get a permanent retainer and once again they just keep asking for more pictures. I don't have time for this! You can also tell the email feedback is from AI.

    I had braces multiple times and I chose not to wear my guards for 20 years. I started to see changes that I didn't like and my dentist pointed it out to me. But I didn't wanna spend $5,000 or $6,000 on corrective procedure and Byte seemed affordable. Then, I found out that my insurance would contribute some money to it so it made it a little even easier to push the button. I still have about a month but I am happy with the process and the result so far. I see changes every week so I feel like it's going in the right direction. Also, it's easy and nice that everything is there that you need. But they do a check-in once a month and I started to do the check-in last night and it failed on me. I went to hit the button and it locked me out and wouldn't let me go in.

    I was very excited about having a better smile and straightened teeth, but after week 15 the support team let me know that my aligners was a poor fit (had air gaps) and they refused to send a new molding kit to have a better fitting aligners. They also told me now I don’t bite right (For a month of back and forth messages and pictures with support team). They refusing to send me the rest of aligners, they don’t want to refund the money either. Worst customer service (brought me high level of anxiety without explaining what exactly wrong with my teeth now, only told me to stop using Hyperbyte).

    I purchased about 45 days ago. Sent in the molds along with the requested pictures. They ask for new pictures so I send those in. They keep just sending me the same email saying they need me to redo the pictures. No explanation of which picture. No explanation of what I did differently than the example photos. Nothing. Can’t respond to their texts or call anyone. I heavily regret my choice. I had thought going with one of the more expensive options would mean better customer service. I was very mistaken.

    My 6 month process started in 2022 with Byte, and almost 2 years later and still looking the same. Please don’t waste your money, they will not refund you and then you receive zero response. I even did 3 different impression sets and had two sets of aligners sent to me. You think you’re at the end of the sets and they either don’t fit right or not at all. Unless you don’t care about spending $1000’s of dollars for nothing then just go to an orthodontist. Oh I had braces years ago and just needed a gap closed in not a serious issue and they got their $ and left me in the dark. So disappointing and hopefully I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake. Stay away.

They scheduled my impression pick up before the impression kit was even delivered.     I’m going to try my best not to create an entire essay here. I regrettably signed up to trust Byte to “conveniently & effectively” straighten my honestly not horribly crooked front teeth. The first 10 sets were ok. I however was constantly forced to go back & forth with customer service on how to make them fit better (by the way, they would only tell me to file or cut them in the back & that never helped, thus making me only contact another random customer support representative again & again)… They finally (& obviously) got tired of hearing about the constant issues themselves & offered to send me a whole new impression kit. I waited in my practically disintegrating number 10 set of aligners while all of this was getting “resolved” for well over the time the plastic things were even meant to last, but was eventually sent a new box set of aligners to continue with.

    I tried hard to make the next tray (number 11) fit. They weren’t going to work. At this point, I was also noticing that (as a person who has always taken immaculate care of my teeth & gums) my teeth were starting to become extremely sensitive, wiggling way more than what should be normal & that my gums were just beginning to look as if they were slowly eroding by using these crap, plastic things. I went to the dentist to get a basic check & opinion, informing them about my Byte aligners & everything I had been through with them up until that point. They told me I should stop immediately & if I could, please get myself a refund. They were doing more harm than good. And so — I once AGAIN contacted customer service (by the way, customer service there are all extremely nice individuals. I feel like we all almost knew each other personally as many times as we would message each other.)

    However, the minute I mentioned a refund, I was told that they very strictly do not issue refunds. I didn’t argue & knew I had been screwed… I continued getting the automated emails about when to switch to the next number of aligners, when to send check-in pictures, etc… I started to just ignore those altogether (there was literally no point in even opening those).. Anyway, fast forward to a few months later, when I was starting to go through some serious financial issues, I felt pulled to contact them again about any sort of refund (even if it was a partial refund of some kind)… I was told that they “didn’t give refunds unless I got a dentist/doctor to write a personal note that it was not working, etc.” — something to that effect.

    As simple as that sounded to do, I didn’t even have the time or money to schedule an appointment due to a crazy work schedule & a big relocation move that I was extremely busy & financially strained with at the moment. So, long story short — I didn’t even get to try to jump through the hoops to get an only half-offered refund. It shouldn’t be like that. They should take enough ethical & moral pride in their business that it should be easier to get a truly needed refund in cases like mine or anything similar. I also recently read the fine print of the contract they make you sign before starting your MIS-“treatment”.. It says in all capital letters that by signing, you revoke your rights to being able to sign up to any or all things such as a class-action lawsuit if there ever be one..

    THAT alone should’ve gotten my attention before, but I guess I just once again screwed myself over by trusting an advertisement pushing themselves hard as possible on all the social media websites. Anyway. Don’t even think of using Byte or anything similar. It’s all trash. Go to a real dentist & get real braces or whatever other cosmetic things you could have done. You’re not saving money with Byte. You’ll only end up paying more in the long run due to damages.

    Byte's guarantee is if you are not satisfied with your results after your final aligners, don't order your retainers. Well, I was not happy with my results and brought it to their attention. They told me there wasn't much they could do. I requested another impression kit, which they refused, stating it would not correct the teeth I am concerned about. How do they know that. Before I submitted my payment they guaranteed that If I was not satisfied I would receive refinements. Their sales representatives are deceiving.

    I saw Byte was a cheaper option than the Invisalign. So I went for Byte instead of Invisalign. The impression kit had a cheap price. I like that it was money back. It was simple, too. I did the impressions and sent it back and I got my results right away. They told me my price within two weeks. It was a fast reply. I like that whole process where I got a doctor or a dentist to look at it, and I got the option of whether to do day or night because, with my job, I can't wear them all day. Getting the night ones was good. I feel like it's working. It's a slow process for me, though. I don't have that much to go. I have 15 in total and I'm on set two. I'm in the beginning part of it. They always reminded me and kept reminding me. I also had the option to opt out of text messages, but I knew if I kept it, I would be more likely to get it, and I did. And I'm grateful that I bought them.

    I began my treatment to correct an overlapping top front tooth. I started wearing my nighttime aligners in January, 2020 and never missed a single night as it was I really important to me to have good smile. After experiencing a long period of severe frustration, I stopped wearing them after 2 years and 5 months of treatment. I did not have good results after completing the first set of aligners. I was told the guarantee did not provide refunds, only further treatment.

    After a few months, I was sent new molds and then received an entirely new set of aligners. Also without good results. I eventually had to start over once again and had to send in a 3rd set of new molds for another new set of aligners. I experienced a worsening of my alignment with this last group. My upper teeth were beginning to move sideways on one side. I believe I should not have been approved for treatment to begin with as it appears there was enough room to move my bottom teeth into alignment. Starting immediately, my bite was off because my bottom teeth were being pushed outward and wider, which pushed them against my upper front teeth forcing them forward when I attempted to close my mouth. This problem was never resolved.

    The pictures you are required to regularly send in are very difficult to take and I just dreaded it! The responses to my concerns sometimes took up to 2 weeks and they never responded to the concerns about my bite. I also had 2 aligners crack during treatment and wasn’t able to get them replaced. I was just eventually sent new molds followed by the new group of aligners.

    To this day, my bite is still off and is very uncomfortable. My overlapping tooth is also pushing outwards now. I also have experienced pain in my jaw from this problem. My last correspondence was a video call and I was told that my jaw pain was due to grinding my teeth…not true! I was then asked to send in videos of closing my jaw. I was not able to do this myself and my husband was also having trouble getting the correct angle.

    After such a long period of time with 3 new molds and 3 new sets of aligners, I was not at all confident I would get the results I was guaranteed. The frustration and stress over this became too much for me to continue. I was just done. After I discontinued treatment, I had to have 2 root canals within the same year. I have learned that the bite being off is a possible cause of the cracks in those teeth. Trusting Byte was a huge mistake. I never want to have another experience like it! I wasted over $2,000 and 2 1/2 years of treatment that left me with no results. I have no choice but to spend additional money to go to an orthodontist. I am currently saving for this as I am still hoping to have that smile.

    It breaks my heart that I invested 3 thousand dollars with Byte so that they can help me with my insecurities. I expressed to them how much I wanted a perfect smile. Sadly their product absolutely did not hold up to anything they promised. I had to get emergency oral surgery the doctor prescribed me amoxicillin and told me to give it week before I start using my retainers again so that my mouth is fully healed. Who in their logical mind would go against doctor’s order and put plastic retainers that hold germs in their mouth anyways in order for BYTE PRODUCT TO WORK.

    Now a week later my retainers do not fit my gap is back to how it started. I reached out to byte immediately and they told me to spend more money for a new set of invisible braces. I would not spend another penny ever with a company who doesn’t stand behind their product! If you look at my teeth it doesn’t look like I invested over 3 thousand dollars on my smile to not be insecure about it anymore. “Align with confidence.” “Byte clients are consistently satisfied.” “The company that’s changing the at home dental industry.” LIES!     My aligners didn't fit from the beginning. I was told just to "bite down hard, if the liner breaks we will replace it." After forcing several different trays over my teeth, at some point I couldn't do that anymore. When I was unable to force my next ones onto my teeth, I kept wearing the last ones while trying to find a solution with the folks at Byte. I was told my teeth were "tracking properly" and just to keep forcing them on. Or to use some warm water to manipulate the aligners. I sent in photos. They told me my teeth were NOT "tracking properly". When I expressed my frustration at having told them this all along, they wrote back "After further review your teeth are tracking correctly." I threw them away at this point. I knew I would not get help. I continued to pay off the bill in full.

    I have since been to a real orthodontist, and have been getting corrections on my teeth. He stated this would have never worked for me and they should have been able to tell that from my impressions. He is having to shave down my lower front teeth because there isn't physically room in my mouth for my teeth to be straight. My experience here was terrible. I feel like they scammed me out of $2,000.

    I ordered my impression kit, completed it and sent it back. I got an email telling me that I was a good candidate and all that was left was to speak to my rep, review my treatment plan, and place my order. So, I got in touch with the rep. We went over treatment options, and decided on the right option for me. She had me secure financing, approve my orders, and pay $2499.00 for the aligners. She tells me they're going into manufacturing and I should have them in 4-6 weeks, but possibly as quick as 2 weeks. I tell her "Great!".

    The very next day I get an email from an oral hygienist with Byte telling me that due to some oral health issues I am not eligible and I would be receiving a refund. Well, they refunded for the impression kit the very same day, but they're telling me it'll be 14 days before they issue the refund for the $2499.00. This is unacceptable, they shouldn't even be charging customers that kind of money for a service until they complete the eligibility process.

    So far, I like Byte. They are very affordable and have different payment plans. Sizing wasn't hard, but I had to keep redoing it because I wasn't biting down hard enough. Byte sent me free ones until I got it right. It didn't take long for them to send me my aligners, and they sent half of my treatment plan so I didn't have to wait. Setting it up online is easy. I like how it reminds you to use your HyperByte and tells you when to change your aligners.

    Whenever I first put the aligners in, it was annoying because I've never had anything in my mouth like that. The lisp was so annoying as well. But it feels better now. I like having the aligners in because I can feel the difference of my teeth moving and my teeth feel a lot straighter. Others are now noticing that my gap is closing. It didn't take long for my gap to close. It's not fully closed, but in the next few weeks, it will be. I got the whitening and I like it as well. The aftertaste is weird but I can see how it's working. I just don't like having to take the aligners out whenever I eat. It's hard to take them out whenever it's a busy place and I have to go to the bathroom.

Within two to three weeks, I had a set of 21 aligners. I wear them overnight and I take them out for breakfast. And when I'm done eating, I brush my teeth and put them back in.     I started my Byte journey in 2022 as a 20 year old and finished in 20 weeks. It is a bit uncomfortable at first and you get past the lisp pretty quick.     My treatment plan was supposed to be 18 top aligners and 6 bottom. After the 6th week, bottom teeth were not straight. Spoke by email or phone to 15 different representatives in 6 weeks, plus a video call. After each call, they request more photos to delay sending a new mold.     I like that I can wear the aligners during nighttime 'cause I find it hard to talk. I can definitely tell that something is in my mouth, and I would hate to have to go through my day talking to people with that in my mouth. I wear the aligners from 9:00 at night till 7:00 in the morning, and my only complaint is some of the aligners are rough on the edges, so I've had some sores on my tongue and my gums. It would be nice if Byte could file them off and make them a bit smoother and not so rough on the ends of it.

    I'm almost halfway through the process and at this point, it looks like my front teeth is on target to be what they it's gonna look like. I got a brightener with the aligners, so my teeth are a bit whiter. I've also noticed that this one tooth I have doesn't push out as much as it used to. I can just feel it from my tongue. I put in my eighth week of aligners, and by the end of May, I'll see the difference that I wanted to see. So far, I'm happy with Byte. I think it's gonna work and it's worth the money. The option of having nighttime aligners is important too if people wanted to do it and not have to wear them during the day.

    Byte was a lot lower priced and a lot quicker timeframe to see the amount of improvement than the other option I looked at with my orthodontist so I went with them. I wear them a minimum of 22 hours a day and I take them off to eat breakfast, lunch, and supper. You get used to it and there are times I forget that they're even in there. Also, there's hardly anybody that I've come along that has noticed them in my mouth whenever I'm talking to them. My husband has to get real close to even realize I have them on. I was able to notice a change within two days and I was really surprised. It used to be a struggle to even floss.     Updated on 06/25/2024: It's much more worth it to get in person aligners as I don't advice this whatsoever. This is a scam... The customer service is a big pain to deal with. They said this would take 6 months, here I am almost 2 years later having to deal with this. So I was satisfied with my top teeth and completed them, but I have been dealing with my bottom teeth and then I ordered retainers for my top teeth. My bottom retainers also got sent to me anyways and they decided to end my treatment when my teeth are still not aligned. I reached out to them and they are telling me I ended my treatment, which I never did, and that I have to pay $768 to correct what they didn't do.

    Original Review: Stay away from Byte, I'm still dealing with them a year and a half later... Customer service is slow and you never work with the same person. It took them 3 months to give me a new set and I had to wear a broken set of aligners during that time period.

    The customer who said they are pretty sure Byte does not look at photos and check ins is probably correct. I had those same thoughts as I have moved through the process. You get to a stopping point and someone will ask for pictures you sent in during check ins and will require photos of past aligners that you also previously provided. I was finished with the treatment and I could not bite down molar to molar. They had to send me a new impression kit and a new set. I have gone through the entire treatment they sent me and my molars mate top to bottom better but my lower front teeth are still crooked.

    My teeth appear better than they were but not to a point where I am happy and can proceed with dental repairs to some chipped teeth. They requested an evaluation to be completed and I did it within 24 hours at the end of January 2024 and they would contact me within 3-5 days, that has been over a month ago and still no word. The app is showing my account as closed and I’m having difficulty finding someone to help me. To add insult to injury I am still paying for the process because I had to finance it. I am regretting not spending a little more and going with Invisalign.

It's worth it. It's been a smooth process. There was an issue I had with my aligners. They cut into my gums pretty badly in the front. But I would just file down every set I have for 30 minutes. But that was the only thing. Although, I found the HyperByte a little questionable because I'm not sure exactly how helpful it is. I know it says in the little manual what the HyperByte does. But I've noticed there's been a week where I won't use it, versus a week where I use it and then it's the same. I don't really feel a difference. I'm not sure how helpful or effective the HyperByte is.

    Two years into the treatment, and the problematic tooth for which I signed up for the service, is still protruding. The so called clinical team gave me a run-around for nearly 8 months; with taking numerous impressions, and countless photographs of the so called "progress", and now that the full amount has been paid, they are ignoring my requests, and pushing me to request the retainers, apparently according to them the treatment has been completed. I will have to go to an orthodontist now and pay more money to correct what these scammers promised to, and didn't. Pay the full price for a reputable service; saving a few hundred dollars will not be worth at in the end.

    Would rate a 0 if it was an option. I have Invisalign, and Byte. Byte is seriously awful in comparison. No customer support, unless you go on Reddit to dig and find the number- but it ends up not mattering, because they have non-existent customer service or IT. No ticket numbers, no escalation, no replacements. Phone support hangs up on you. Flimsy, unreliable product.

    The whole experience started out well and my son’s teeth look amazing but he can’t seem to get those retainers. He’s backtracked so many times on the same step. I can’t get answers to questions or to speak to someone who knows more than a prompt on the computer. I wanted new impressions since his lower retainers are loose and have air gaps on the anterior but fit down on all other teeth. I can’t make his grow vertically anymore than they have. Maybe one day he’ll be in retainers before I just take him to an orthodontist who will answer questions and point the issue out. I give 0 for replies from someone who can answer questions and 5 for the way his teeth look. The next 0 is for lack of listening to the customer and refusing to answer questions.

    I'm on week seven of my aligners and I have one week left to go and then I get my retainers. I've seen major changes in my teeth. I only got one tooth left that's supposed to be moving in the next week. I really like the results. I don't feel like I have to hide my teeth anymore. The only thing is the app keeps messing up. Like right now, I'm on week seven and I messaged then talked to somebody about trying to get it moved, because it says that I'm ready for my retainers. But I still have this week and next week before I can actually get my retainers and it won't let me do anything. The app is kind of confusing. But their reps are pretty helpful.

    Byte works well and it's a little more effective. Over the past few years, I've noticed a little difference and a few teeth going off-centered. So, I wanted to fix that a little bit. Wearing the product every day, I could feel the difference. And when I saw it in a week, I could see a huge difference in my straighter teeth. Usually, I wake up and put the retainer straight on, or I already have them on throughout the night. So I go out throughout the day and take them off as I eat. I just keep them on or take them off when I'm about to go to sleep. At first, the retainer was uncomfortable because I have something in my mouth again. But I got used to it. It felt super easy to get into the habit of doing that.

    Byte would be a good thing to try compared to regular braces. They're a little bit cheaper and easy to use. You can choose to take them off or keep them on. Whereas with regular braces, you have to keep them on till your whole term is done. The customer support is very responsive and always open for questions. They are always checking in. So it's good.

    I went through SmileDirect, and they had to do a new set because their first set didn't do what they said it was going to do. I was finished with them, and then things happened. I couldn't wear the retainer. My teeth moved, and I was not happy. I didn’t want to have to do two rounds, so I went with a different company and chose Byte. They do check-ins. However, I am convinced nobody looks at the check-in pictures because I was on step 20 of 24 and they pushed me back down to step 12 to see if they could get my teeth to do what they wanted them to do. I know how to wear aligners. I just keep them in my mouth. It's not rocket science. After two months of wearing the same aligners, Byte said, "We'll send you a new impression kit," so I'm doing a second round. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. My interactions with the clinical team have also left a lot to be desired. I should have been done with my treatment last June or July.

    I send almost monthly pictures (top, bottom, left, right, with and without). Anyone with decent vision could have seen that the aligners weren't sitting properly on the uppers because of one tooth. It was specifically on one tooth, but the other three not so much. I thought, "Maybe because that's how that tooth is. This is how this has to be." I would assume the orthodontist who reviews cases would say otherwise though. On one hand, I got what I paid for. I spent 2,700 because I got the 750-warranty package, so my retainers are free for an x amount of time. On the other hand, Invisalign is $7,000, but had I gone with an actual orthodontist and Invisalign, my teeth would have ended up perfectly straight. I would have a permanent retainer.

There were very detailed instructions about how to go about taking the molds. They also kept me very much in the loop on the process of what was happening once I sent them back. Once they developed the treatment plan, then they reached out again to see if I was ready to move forward. I wasn't quite ready then. It was right around the first of the year. But they were very cool and understanding about that process. I have started the process and I'm a couple of weeks in. The process was easy. When you call, they tell you to email them, then no response for over 5 days.     I have invested 3 years and gone through 4 sets of aligners. My issue was crooked bottom teeth. Some overlap. Byte aligners are clearly not right for my type of alignment requirement even though Byte asks you for photos before providing the kit for aligners. There is no continuity between dental assistants, they don’t have time to speak with you. They don’t read your history, but start over with the same boiler plate questions. They have screwed up the alignment of my teeth in my gums. I have never been more dissatisfied with a company in my life. If you require more serious alignment don’t use Byte.

    IF you want to actually fix your teeth please do not use these. It is convenient, up until there is an issue with your progress. You pay upfront, and then they only send you half of your aligners, so you are ripped off from the start. Then when you address an issue with customer service they are only focused on coming up with any way they can to tell you YOU voided your warranty. I had to wait 2 months for the rest of my aligners to come in the mail, and during that time my teeth had started to shift back, lost all progress and because I didn't keep one of my sets of old used aligners my warranty was voided.

    I was excited to get started with these aligners and had excellent service BEFORE I paid. Once I paid ($2149) I have received ZERO customer service. I was assigned an "advisor" (Frank **) who was more than happy to help me and even said he was going to expedite my product because it was a pleasure to work with me. I have tried to contact Byte numerous times via email, text and phone, for weeks now. My order and payment was confirmed and two installments have been charged to me, however, I have not received my aligners and I can’t get a response to save my life.

    Yesterday, I finally reached someone on the phone at 1-800-471-7162 who said his name is Vladimir. He told me he couldn't look up my account via my order number but that he could via my SSN, which seemed very odd and suspect. He looked up my account via my phone number AND email and said there was no account for me. Odd since they are charging me monthly.

    I began my journey with Byte with excitement and dedication. When I was about midway through the trays, I went to change out to a new tray and it was a bit tight going on. When I snapped the top tray in, my very back to right tooth cracked. I even heard it. After tons of pain beginning a Friday night to Monday, I finally made it to the dentist to be told my tooth was cracked. I had been in so much pain that I just couldn’t wait any longer for it to stop with antibiotics so I had it pulled. I ended up going to an orthodontist and start Invisalign so I could be treated by a live person. Byte was a total waste of $2000 that I am still paying. It really started off good and I had great hopes. I would never refer them to anyone, ever! It’s hard to get anyone to help you and they reply with emails that don’t even pertain to what you typed up. Just don’t do it!

I purchased the treatment plan and no one told me I could not use the HyperByte if I had certain medical conditions prior to the purchase.     Byte's process was easy and I could do it from home. Having kids and everything, it was easier than having to go in. I got everything well before it was supposed to be here. They have very clear instructions. When they sent the messages, they had links to videos that you could watch to do it. I have a big gap on my bottom teeth and I can see a difference so far. The ones I wear are all day and night ones. They're 22 hours a day. I just take them out while I'm eating, and then brush and put them back in. The process is not as painful as I expected.

    I've had to be refitted three times now and it's a bit frustrating in the sense that I would get to about step 7 with a set and then there would be gaps between the teeth and the aligners. I would tell somebody about it and they would have to send me out a new pack. But at the same time, I understand that it's more or less just the process. I just started wearing each try two to three weeks at a time to make sure they're really set in stone. I'm moving a little bit more slowly through them this time. But I do feel like the profile is moving towards more of a straight profile and my front teeth feel less crowded.

    There was one interaction I had with Byte customer service that was less than ideal and it was pretty frustrating because it was the third time that I got refitted. Someone said that the reason they weren't working was because I wasn't following the treatment plan and that they would cover it this time, but it would be the last time since I wasn't following the treatment plan. But I literally did every single thing that they have asked me to. Other than that, I'd recommend Byte.

    I prepaid. So basically once they got my money and sent me my aligners they were done with me. Around tray 10, the top aligner did not fit. I woke up and my front eyetooth was black. I freaked out and went to my dentist. Who told me to stop wearing the tops because it was cutting off the circulation to my tooth. I contacted Byte about getting the tray adjusted, etc. Long story short, they told me that it was now the problem of my dentist and that he needed to fix it. My dentist offered to sell me Invisalign at $5,000. In any case, the bottom trays never straighten my slightly overlapping teeth. They look exactly the same. With my top teeth, I has one tooth that was slightly recessed behind the other. The second tray pushed the recessed tooth back even farther, so now it is even more pronounced.

    My husband did the original aligner molds to see if he would be a good candidate. The company replied that he indeed would be a good candidate so we secured financing and proceeded. We received the first 15 aligners for the top and only 1 for the bottom. At first we didn’t think much of it because we assumed they were concentrating on the top first. Well, when we received the next batch of uppers and no bottoms I questioned that. Also, with taking the same cheaply made aligner in and out multiple times a day, it had torn. So I contacted the company about when he would be get the bottom aligners started because of the tear.

    That and only then, after 15+ weeks and multiple payments, they inform us the bottom was too complicated so they wouldn’t be that. Now we can give them $129 and they would be “gracious” enough to replace the bottom aligner. Then they offered a $150 discount but we still paid for the replacement aligner. After much back and forth, the best they were ever going to compensate was $350. I was tired of arguing and I embarrassed I wasted my husband's time.

    Byte was the least expensive out of the few options that we considered and we're happy with it. My daughter’s teeth weren't completely straight. It wasn’t super bad to begin with, but the aligners are working. We're halfway through the process. She likes her smile and she's happy. You wear the aligners all the time besides eating so, you're supposed to just eat and put it back in. My daughter needs reminders sometimes to put it back in after she eats when I find them on the counter. But besides that, she's good. There's this little Byte thing she has to use and it wasn't working so she told them on the app. And immediately, they said that if she couldn’t get it to work, they would send another one. My daughter was able to troubleshoot it and get it working again. Byte was good in their communication. If you write that you have a problem with anything, they get back to you right away and fix it.

    Byte seemed like they would be more straightforward or cost-effective than going to an orthodontist. But my experience did not live up to my expectations. I was provided the service they said they would provide, but it was not more cost-effective or straightforward. They were fairly difficult to work with. I have a connective tissue disorder. I have one spot in my gums where they've receded the tiniest, tiniest, little bit. When that was mentioned, they freaked out and told me to stop treatment, and that they needed to have confirmation from my dentist that I was eligible to be in the retainers. I told them that I had found out about the gum from the dentist two days prior. They told me that I could use the aligners. But Byte did not wanna hear that.

    I had to hunt down a letter from my dentist and then Byte made it sound like it was super urgent. But it took them three weeks to respond to me after I submitted the letter. I was following up with them over and over again. So cost-wise and hassle-wise, I would have had the same experience going to my dentist, if not an easier experience. I'm waiting for the final retainer to be sent. It's been a week since I finished and I haven't gotten it yet.

    It was super nice to not have to go into a dentist or orthodontist to do any of the steps with Byte. I appreciated that. I like that if I lose my retainers, I get a replacement one for free. Then after that, I can get a discount because they paid extra for the Byte insurance. All in all, I spent a little under 4,000. So I saved a bit. I'm glad I did it.

    I've always had a top gap on my two front teeth. My bottom one was due to tongue thrusting. Then I had a tongue piercing which started to separate my bottom teeth and it was getting bigger than the top. It looked horrible and I felt so insecure. I was over it and wanted to close a lot of the gaps. So, it was time to improve my teeth. The 24-hour day thing is super annoying but the process wasn't bad. The mold for the impressions was quick and easy. I wish they had a lot of those at the dental office. We wouldn't be struggling and mixing. But it was perfect. Byte would call you and let you know if it was not right. The reps told me the trays would be done in five to six weeks and it was sooner. So, that was cool.

    Getting into the mid of your treatment, you notice that your teeth are a lot more sensitive because of the movement. I would recommend eating soft foods and staying away from candy because it's uncomfortable. And you wanna be able to enjoy your food because you have to eat. It's tough but it gets better towards the end of the week. I'm on week nine right now and it probably hurts the most for my bottom. I don't know if it's doing a lot more at the bottom than it is top. It was painful for me because I am dramatic. You get scared taking them off but they're good. They just got into place and you're good to go. It is a little bit uncomfortable for me for the bottom because it is the one that needs the most work. So, it hurts me the way it does.

    I'm satisfied with my treatment right now. I’ve seen an improvement. My gap has closed a lot within nine weeks. I just updated a video and I showed my fiancé too because he's traveling at work. I said the aligners are doing what it needs to do and I'm happy because every time I ever wanted to get braces, I was always told I didn’t need it. If I wanted something, they would recommend Invisalign. I was not doing that. You get braces for free but they don't want you to wear braces. If you don't need it, don't get it because you keep wearing braces for so long for no reason when all you needed was some little gaps to be closed. But this one from Byte works good for me. Even my actual dentist said my bite was fine.

    I'm on the sixth week of my treatment and Byte's customer service is very helpful if I need help. So, everything is great. I sleep with my aligners so, I'm wearing them all day. I take them off only when I need to brush my teeth or when I need to eat or drink something, except for water. And five minutes a day, I'm wearing the HyperByte device. My teeth are sore a little so I feel a little bit of pain. But that's because my teeth are moving and it’s only five weeks. I need to check my photos and compare but there are some differences. I'm totally satisfied with Byte and I would recommend using it if people are considering aligners.

    I've been pretty happy with the process. The team at Byte has been pretty helpful. They've been keeping track of my improvements or changes over time. So that's nice. They reach out every other week or so. It's been pretty good. When I needed to get at some point a new kit because my teeth weren't moving as fast as they were hoping, they sent me a new kit to redo them. So that was nice.     I had some gapping in my front teeth and I was trying to improve that. I'm still in the process of doing that with Byte and it's been going a lot longer than I expected it to be. I'm on my last aligner and they're supposed to be sending me a retainer, but they haven't sent anything to me about the next steps, how that works, and if only I can get it. Other than that, I have seen an improvement in my teeth though it could be better. Also, their stuff doesn't whiten our teeth. But the program helps with the screening and it's nice that you can do it from home.

    Don't listen to any reviews that do not go past the 'onboarding experience' - only pay attention to reviews of people who have gone through the full process. Byte is good at one thing - GETTING customers. After that they won't give craps shits about you as a customer. Long story short, I followed ALL of the rules and plan, and Byte still screwed up my treatment and refuses to finish it correctly.

    While I once recommended Byte to everyone who asked, I now regret it. As many other people mention, their goal is 100% GETTING CUSTOMERS. They DON'T CARE ABOUT ACTUAL CUSTOMERS. They are far too focused on acquiring new customers and put all of their customer service and funding into this process. You will feel like a rockstar during the on-boarding process with how much they 'care'.

    ONCE YOU ARE A CUSTOMER they could not care less about you. E-mailing customer service is an absolute JOKE and they take several days to a week to respond to anything. They do answer chat quickly, that is if you don't go NUTS trying to get to a REAL PERSON instead of their horrible chat bot. If you think Amazon's chat bot is terrible.... Byte's is about 50x WORSE that that one. You have to literally tell it how bad it is for it to let you connect to a person. No joke - type in 'this is stupid' and it will connect you. Their app is an absolute joke, useless and constantly has bugs and issues. I will say I followed EVERY rule and recommendation. I wore my aligners 23+ hours every day and used my HyperByte every day as told. My treatment not ending correctly was 100000% not on me, it was on Byte.

    FIRST PROBLEM: You better hope you need 15 aligners or less because trying to get the rest of your aligners is a nightmare of a joke. You are supposed to request your continuation at week 12, but their system won't let you until week 13. It then takes them ANOTHER week to actually do anything about your request, and only if you e-mail AND chat with them to push them. It then takes them 3-4 weeks to get you the new ones. So now you are on week 14 just getting them ordered, so you will now be 2-3 weeks late on your continuation treatment. The continuation aligners are NOT THE SAME and cut and fit differently which then leads to the next MAJOR problem.

    Heaven forbid your treatment doesn't do what it is supposed to at the end (because they did NOT make the continuation aligners right). I'm now working on WEEKS of trying to get their 'clinical team' to fix my treatment. I've sent the same photos and video dozens times and answered their questions 50 times. And several weeks into this they send some stupid 'aligner evaluation' that should have been sent the minute I said the treatment wasn't right. They then ordered 'touch up' aligners WITHOUT APPROVAL. I 100% do not trust this process and I know it will be screwed up again. Not only do they have no idea what they are doing and never read anything I say to them, they REFUSE to address my top teeth at all. They want an EXTRA $600 to finish my treatment the right way versus them GUESSING.

    I've asked 10 times for them to take new impressions and give me a new virtual care to approve and they absolutely refuse. This is the only way I trust them to finish my treatment correctly because they have been an absolute CLUSTER of a process and total disaster to deal with. They are quite literally guessing how to finish my treatment at this point.

    So now not only is my treatment going to be months late when I needed it done for a very specific time (which I even buffered before starting), but I'm sure it's going to be wrong again and I'm going to be back to fighting them AGAIN to get my treatment done CORRECTLY. You get an e-mail back from a different person every time and none of them actually listen or read through the information. Because they literally don't care, they just go through the motions.

    It is 100% my belief that their goal is to annoy you so much that you give up on trying to get your treatment finished. The entire process is unprofessional and an absolute DISASTER. While there might be benefits to Byte like not having to go to an office, you have to hope for everything to go perfectly in order to want to use this. Because pretty soon your 'no hassle' and 'quick treatment' is going to be an absolute headache.

    I chose Byte because Orthodontia is not covered by my insurance and I needed an affordable way to straighten my teeth. I ordered the impression kit and the customer service agent assigned to me was great and really helpful. Once I sent the kit in, I was assigned to a new customer service representative to go over the treatment plan laid out by the dentist that examined my molds. Ultimately, she was a sales representative and her job was to get me to buy the aligners and she did her job well. She helped me set up a CareCredit account so that I can use that to help pay for the aligners until my 2024 HSA funds came through. I was assured that my HSA would allow me to use my 2024 funds without a problem.

    That was not the case for my HSA, it may be with others. They needed more information than what I was given. The only service date provided to me on my receipt was in August of 2023. Because of that, my HSA informed me that I could not use my 2024 funds to pay for my aligners. So then I started the process with Byte of getting a detailed treatment plan that showed all of the dates that I was changing my aligners out. I emailed them asking for this document, not a hard ask. I ended up going back and forth with a different agent each time trying to get this document. They kept telling me I didn’t need it or would try to pass me off to CareCredit or would just send the exact same receipt I already had.

    I let this go on for a month, that’s on me. I then called in wanting to speak to a manager. The customer service representative told me that I didn’t need to speak to a manager and that I was talking to the wrong department entirely. She transferred me to a customer service representative in the Insurance Department. I really didn’t think that this was the right department, but I told her what I was looking for. She confirmed that I was with the wrong department. She told me that I needed to first speak to my HSA company and ask them for a form called “Orthodontia Treatment Plan.” Once I got that form I was to send it via email to the Claim Support team. They’d fill out the form for me and then I could give it to my HSA so that I could then use my 2024 HSA funds to pay off my CareCredit Card.

    I reached out to my HSA, there is no such form. Other HSA’s may have the form, but mine doesn’t. They told me that all I needed was a document from Byte with the Treatment Plan and the dates I would change each aligner set. The same document that I’ve been asking for. For over a month. Now I’m waiting to hear back from the Claim Support Team to see if they can give me that document. I don’t have high hopes.

    Before all of this, I had told my husband that this was so much easier than regular braces. That when our kids need braces we should do it this way. Maybe we will, but we will not be using Byte ever again. The aligners are great. The initial representatives I worked with were great. The post-payment support is not there and is, honestly horrible and Byte should be embarrassed. I gave them 1 star for the first 2 representatives I worked with. They both did their jobs well. However, if I could give 0 stars for the post-purchase support I would.

    They told me the process was three or four months. But I had to have a re-impression 'cause I had to re-correct the impression that they had. It wasn't doing the trick. So, we had to do one more impression mid-summer and I just started the new treatment in August. It has definitely made a difference and it's accelerating quite a bit as far as the closure of the gap and the corrections. The whole process they have as far as the check-in was a little weird because it was a little bit with the pictures and trying to fumble with the camera. But I'm getting used to it. They've made some changes and it's a little easier to take pictures. Communication with the team has been great. It's very easy to navigate everything The presentation with the packaging when they deliver the impressions and the instructions have been spot on. I would definitely recommend Byte. It's been a user-friendly service. It's a slam dunk. I still have a gap in my teeth but it's half of what it was.

    I chose Byte because there was a nighttime only option and a military discount, and because of the price. They sent the things in the mail, I did it at home and sent it back. It was easy. The retainers are not bulky, so they're not hard to wear. And after only a few nights, I was able to not think about them. They were not uncomfortable in any way. They felt strange, but I could fall asleep easily with them, which I was worried about. After a while, I felt strange if I was not wearing them at night. And I knew I was grinding my teeth. So, I didn't wanna grind my teeth at night and make that worse. So, it was protective also.

    Byte does these check-ins where I take pictures of my teeth, and they either okay it or give me feedback. It's always a different person who gives me feedback. My front tooth is a bit shorter than the other one, and they would always say, "It looks like there's a gap and you need to wear the retainer longer. You need to go back to this other step that looks like it's not fitting." And even though I would write, "This front tooth is shorter than the other one and don't call it an air gap," it would be like starting over anew with a customer service person every time.

    I had a consult with the dentist and she said I was getting that chip fixed and I couldn't have any dental work. Because they kept making me go back to a previous step, it prolonged everything. Am I really not supposed to have dental work for two years? I was aggravated with that. Because my retainer wouldn't fit anymore. So, I got the chip fixed, but the retainer wouldn't fit. I didn't wanna wear a retainer because I knew it would mess up that bonding on that chip.

    They wanted a letter from the dentist saying it was necessary, but it wasn't, but I wanted to do it because it has been a year that I had not done it. They paused me because I was not in compliance because I got dental work. So, I had to do another set of retainers and pay for that. But I wanted to do it because I wanted to have the chip fixed and continue. It felt like it was not a continuity of customer service with who's looking at my pictures or understanding my situation.

    The results are slow, but it's intentionally slow. I could tell that the teeth are moving. I can't know the exact final result when wearing the retainers at first. So, Byte gave me a 3D model, which helped understand it. Whenever I put my retainer on at night again, when they haven't moved, it would feel weird. But by the morning, it would feel normal because it's only at night. I might lose a little during the daytime, but as long as I consistently wear them, it would feel they get to the very stable place where they're not moving as much.

    I had to do the impressions, but it was pretty easy directions. It was quite simple. I'm halfway through the program and I regret not doing it sooner. I can feel that my overbite is better. I'm not snoring at night. I was having really bad sleep apnea, and they suggested getting a guard device. The retainers actually work like a guard. I’m getting more REM sleep. Whenever I had it done with Byte, they said the same thing as the dentist that I visited before. Byte was saying the exact same thing a dentist was saying, and they didn't know that before. So that was really impressive.

    The retainers fit perfectly. They give you the bag like how everything comes. I expected it to be cheap because of the price. But from the boxes to the way they package them and the bag that you get, it's all high quality stuff. I really like the way they organize it. I was blown away with the quality of how they did everything. I'm paying 52 bucks a month. I'm gonna pay them off at the end of the year. It's easy. I use my app a lot. It has all the reminders and it makes it easier because it's convenient.

    My favorite part of all of it was Byte wasn't pushy like typical salespeople are. From when I initially inquired to when I actually signed up, it was about three months. I was really on the fence about it. But they didn't push me, which made it less of a scam. They really did good. It's been worth the hype. They were there if I needed them. They did everything. I'm a mom and I don't have time to go in to a dentist and wait. I've already recommended it multiple times to people. It's so easy and affordable. They make it to where there's no reason not to have straight teeth. It's changed my life.

    With Byte, it was easy enough to do the impressions. The kit was very easy to follow and it didn't take long. And it was less gross than the traditional mold impressions that they did back when I was a kid where it used to be those big wide trays where the impression material would ooze out the back and halfway down your throat. There was none of that and that was a very pleasant surprise. I'm on the nighttime plan, so I just do the 10-ish hours with my retainers. Sometimes I'll go a little bit longer if I get upstairs and grab them earlier. But most of the time, I'm either lounging around in the evening or sleeping, so it's very straightforward.

    So far, I'm noticing a little bit of change in the amount of overlap in my front teeth. My front bottom teeth, which were significantly worse, has improved. It's not fixed yet, but I'm less than halfway through my series, so I expect it will continue to improve with time. But I've noticed it's gotten a little bit more straightforward, like the wearing process and what to expect as time has gone on.

    I like the price of Byte. I got the HyperByte. You bite down on that for five minutes a day and it takes away all the pain. It doesn't hurt after that. I wanted to straighten my teeth up. I'm a salesman, so I'm face-to-face with people all day long. It would make me feel better to have straighter teeth. The process was easy. I had to do it twice and I didn't have any problems with it. I was hoping I did it right and wouldn't have any problems and I didn't. I was glad. I was wearing them for 22 hours a day. I did the all day. I would only take them out just to eat, and then I'd brush my teeth and put them right back in. I was worried about keeping them in for that long every day, but it was no problem. You get used to them and you don't even notice they're in there. Now my teeth have gotten a lot straighter and it makes me feel better.

    I have one tooth that's behind the other and I wanted to bring it forward and fix that before it got too crooked. Byte was a little cheaper than some of the other options out there. It took a while to get exactly what I wanted. I had to ask multiple times for them not to close my top gap and I kept getting sets from them that were closing the top gap of my teeth. I just now finally got a set that will not do that. It was supposed to be done in January of this year and I am still using them because of that. But other than that, it was fine. It is a really good option for cheap invisible aligners.

    I'm not done yet, but so far, I'm happy with the results. My lower teeth were bothering me but now, they no longer do. I can speak for extended periods of time and my tongue doesn't bother me. They fit a lot better. My jaws align a lot better. But the process with Byte has been more challenging that I would have liked it. Initially, they send you an impression kit that you take. You send that then they send you the aligners. For the first set of aligners, the way they were made was digging into both my gums and the inside of my mouth. It was bad enough that it was causing lacerations.

    The first few times that I contacted customer support about it, they told me they take some time to get used to. I contacted them again because I didn't think it was typical. Then they told me to go ahead and trim the aligners with scissors, and even though I would spend as much time as I could at cutting them so they would fit and they wouldn't dig into it, it was still an issue. The fit wasn't right. It ended up taking 3 months for the issue to be addressed and it was via email. Every time I would send them, I send them the images of the inside of my mouth. Finally, somebody told me I needed a new set. That person sent me a new impression kit.

    The new aligners fit perfectly. But it was such a headache to get to that point. In those 3 months, I wrote and spoke to multiple people, but it didn't seem like anybody was willing to say that something was wrong with the aligners. The main issue was any time you send an email, even when they replied to you and you reply back, even if you're replying within a couple of minutes, it seems somebody else is reviewing the email. It was almost every time, I was starting from scratch. Any time I contacted somebody, it was a different person. I had to restate the issue and go through the same questions. It got very tedious after a while. Byte is an affordable way to get a better smile but they're lacking customer service. I would reach some people that were very attentive but some others didn't seem they cared. It was hit or miss.

    My teeth are crooked. I'm using Byte and I'm happy with the results so far. They've taken longer than they stated in their advertising, but it's getting there. For the first set of aligners, it's great how they tell us to download the app and you can see how the progress is gonna be through that 3D simulation per week. However, when I got a second set of aligners because I wasn't happy with the results and they provide a lifetime warranty, I re-entered the app, that simulation was not there.

    The packaging of the second set of aligners was also very simple compared to the first ones. I'm in the third set of aligners right now. Again, I couldn't see the simulation that I first saw with the first set of aligners. It looks like they slacked down a little bit with the effort of the service when somebody asks for a warranty. But other than that, the customer service is great. The product is legit. It works from what I see from my experience as well as working.

    Most of my teeth are doing good but this is my third set. Byte sent one set with 15 aligners and I used the whole 15 but one of my teeth on the top didn't shift and the bottom was still not aligned. Then, they sent me the second set. Up to the first seven aligners, my teeth were shifting very good. But after that, I started to feel like these stubborn teeth on the top and bottom started lagging while the others were shifting. The aligners for the rest of my teeth fit fine but for those two, they started building gaps. I went through the second set and now, I started on my third set. Byte is really good when I tell them. They made an evaluation and they said it's not the user's fault and not their fault. It's just these sometimes happen. It's been over a year but I'm fine.

    The only thing is there are a few app glitches. I get notifications that it's time for my check-in every week but it should be monthly. That's a little annoying. But other than that, their customer service is responsive. Also, they honored my deal. I bought this warranty and I'm glad I did it. Otherwise, I have to pay three sets of aligners if I want to keep continuing. They never gave me any trouble and they addressed my concerns. I'm happy overall. If eventually my teeth get straight, it's gonna be worth it.

    I wanted to upkeep my teeth. I wanted to have a retainer that I can wear at night time or throughout the day to keep my teeth straight and taken care of. I thought it would be good to just start Byte. I saw it on TikTok quite often so I thought that it was really marketed towards me. I used to have Invisalign but it was quite expensive. I wanted to pay for this on my own without having help from my parents. Byte was a more affordable option for me.

    They had a new setup with their app for a second. It was hard to get in contact with them during that time. But right now, it seems as though their app is working really well. They send you notifications and checkups once every month, at least. They are really on top of what they're doing. I feel very acknowledged as a consumer using their products.

    Right now, I'm a little bit confused with when they are gonna reach out to me when they ship out their next aligners or my next set of aligners. When I did call customer service, they were not able to assist me. I'm just a little bit confused on that part because I've been using the same set of aligners since May. I checked in with Byte yesterday so they're gonna send me a new one. Other than that, everything else is really organized and done pretty well.

    Updated on 10/24/2023: This is a follow-up review after a runaround with customer service. I started my treatment on Feb 2021, over 980 days ago. The results are disappointing, with marginal improvement. I’m on the nightly plan, and I wear my aligners for 10+ hours and use the vibrating hyperbyte. I wear each set of aligners for several weeks, six on average, until they fit comfortably, with no pressure. This is far more than the recommended minimum of 7 nights. I have reached the end of a set of aligners and asked if another set will be prepared, given the treatment is clearly unfinished.

    Their response is that I should try to go back to the beginning of the aligners set and start over. This would mean reusing aligners I used over 320 days ago. I discarded the older aligners, but for the ones prior to last. For sanitation reasons and because they are severely worn after 40-60 continuous nights of use. They are designed for 7-14 nights of use.

    Because I don’t have the aligners I wore 300+ days ago, and even if my current aligners fit perfectly well, indicating I’m wearing the correct step, I was told that I voided my satisfaction guarantee, and they will only continue my plan if pay for a new plan, at a discounted rate. I don’t see how I would pay for a whole new plan, after 980 days of treatment in the current plan has produced such disappointing results. Further disappointing is that they use the technicality of me having discarded old, worn-out aligners, as justification to cease my treatment. I can’t recommend them.

    Original Review: I've been wearing the night-only aligners for over 2 years now, and there is still a long way to go on straightening my lower teeth. The disastrous portion of the treatment is the patient/customer service. Either a) their CRM system is horrendous, b) they are completely disorganized or c) they intentionally give you the run around to make you give up. They kick you around between agents that don't seem to read the history of the communications, ask for the same pictures over and over, and eventually they ask you to start a service request over again. It's truly unfortunate and very upsetting.

    I'm not surprised that they have many good reviews. When I was in the process of signing up, they were the most responsive, encouraging, and had the best process/onboarding design of any of the competitors, not to mention cute marketing. It's a bit difficult to explain what went wrong because I don't understand it myself, but in short, they told me I was a candidate, so I invested in the treatment. Then they told me I was not a candidate, so I stopped, but didn't get the "guaranteed" refund that they advertise incessantly. Then it turned out they were wrong (I am a candidate), but now I can get neither treatment from them (since I stopped, on their advice) or my money back.

    The longer version: On my first if not my only call to customer service during treatment, I asked them a question about the mechanism of how the product worked ("How do you straighten teeth without expanding the palate to make space?"). It seemed like a reasonable question. Instead of answering (turns out there's a very simple explanation), they immediately got defensive and told me: "We can't fix palates. That was in the terms and conditions you agreed to. We have concluded that you're not a candidate, but we can no longer give a refund because you agreed to the T&C." And that was that. I have not been able to get any sort of service from them since.

    It turns out aligners would totally have worked for me; an orthodontist recommended the exact same treatment. Had Byte taken 5 minutes to answer my question rather than cut me off reactively, I would probably be done with treatment by now. Instead, I now have to start over again (with a different company of course) and am out the money I paid to Byte. I am trying them one more time to see if they can resolve it and in the last 30 minutes of being on hold, I can't tell you how many times they have said "If you are not a good candidate we'll refund your purchase price, guaranteed." What a joke!

    I had very crooked front teeth and its straightness was improved by Byte so it's been wonderful. My smile is completely different than it used to be. I did the impression kit and it was super easy. It came with step-by-step instructions. I’ve done it twice because I had some dental work done that changed my impression, so I did it again and it was just as easy as the first time. You have to do updated photos every now and then. As long as you do all that, then there's no charge. I have three sets of retainers left. We've extended my wear time a little bit just because my teeth shift a lot slower than the average.

    They are cheaper than other companies. Plus, they have a night-exclusive option versus a 22-hour retainer. I only wear my aligners overnight. With most other companies like Invisalign, you have to leave your retainers on all day. But customer service is not great. It's all asynchronous and email-based. Also, you're waiting for things to get mailed back and forth. They're not prompt in getting back to me. The app isn't great too. Even the metrics, outreach and communication aren't always up to date or working with the devices.

    If I could have seen a dentist in person, I would have preferred that, seeing how everything went. Doing it remotely isn't really effective. I would have paid more for Invisalign or something to get the office visit and have it done promptly rather than starting over and all these refinements.

    My employer has an employee perks program and some of the services were discounted. I decided to give Byte a try. I didn't have to go into a dental office like some of the other teeth aligners require you to do. It's convenient being able to get the molding materials and submit them myself without having to spend the extra additional time away from work, going to the dentist, and all that hassle. The reason that I decided to do this process with Byte was that as I was getting older, I noticed my teeth were becoming more and more crowded, especially at the bottom. I anticipated that might be an issue as I continue to get older going forward and I wanted to deal with it early before it got to that point.

    The molding was easy. They had step-by-step instructions and video instructions where you have the two different materials. You mix them together by hand and press them in the mold. They gave you a couple of sets just in case you made a mistake with one to get the best impressions possible. Once they got the impressions, they reached out to show you a video of what your treatment plan was going to be. You could see where your teeth were and see the process of the movement and it changes and see where your teeth were going to wind up being at the end. In that process, there were some things that I didn't really care for. They sent the first couple of models and they refined them until they got to a place where I was going to be satisfied with at the end of treatment.

    I got my aligners sometime in 2020. It was when the pandemic first started and I was working from home at that point. I initially was going to go with the daytime aligners where you wear them during the day and then take them out if you're going to eat or drink anything besides water. I anticipated that I was going to be going back into the office at some point. My husband said, "Hey, if you're gonna do this, why don't you go ahead and get the more expensive aligners that allow you to wear them at night versus being back in the office, germs on your hands, putting your hands in and out of your mouth to insert or remove the aligners. Just get the 10-hour ones, the nighttime ones that are thicker." That's what I did.

    At that point, it was pretty easy. I would put them on at night for 10 consecutive hours, take them out after that, and go on with my day. Depending on what time I put them in, there might be some overlap during the daytime hours where I would actually have to wear them at work for a couple of hours, but that was not a big deal.

    So far, there's the only part that I have not really been happy with and it's just my teeth. They have been resistant to moving. It was initially supposed to be a one-year process from start to finish. Unfortunately for me, that has not been the case. I have followed Byte's instructions to the letter and they have a really good system where they check in with you periodically and require you to send in progress pics. In addition to the progress pics, they ask you for feedback. "Hey, how are you? Are you satisfied? Are you noticing any pain? How are your aligners fitting?" In the process of going through all that, I've had to backtrack a few times. Initially, you're supposed to wear the trays for a week and then switch them out. I was doing that. My teeth were initially moving but then they stopped moving.

    I was following their instructions and at that point, I didn't know the whole thing about the air gaps or the spaces between where the aligner is and where your teeth are. Your teeth are supposed to be fitting into the aligners with minimal or no air gaps before you move on to the next step. I didn't understand that part. Once it got to a certain point, they said, "Yeah, send us pictures and your best-fitting aligners." They would tell me, "Hey, you know what? Your teeth aren't moving. So, we need you to go back to this tray." I had to do that a few times. There was even another time where they said, "Hey, you know what? Let's start with a new set of impressions." I did that. They sent me refinement trays a couple of times. Byte has been there and they've been really supportive. They're great with their instructions. Maybe it's just my skeleton makeup, the way my teeth are, or because I'm older and my teeth are more resistant to moving.

    I've had to start over a few times. With this most recent time, I've actually had to do the impressions in addition to the initial time two more times just to refine things as far as where I'm at for my teeth to be able to be more receptive to moving. I had a set of 15 aligners. I was right at the end and going to go on to getting my retainers. But then, at that questionnaire, I found it was odd. Usually once you've been in the aligners for three or four days, the soreness that you notice goes away. The soreness is normal because the teeth are moving and shifting. But here I am at day 10 of the final tray and my teeth are still sore.

    When I answered their questionnaire, they said, "Okay, hold on a minute." At that point, I didn't want to order my retainers when I knew things weren't exactly fitting correctly. Now, it's taken a little bit longer. I'm in a set of aligners for a month at a time. I was at step 15 and now I'm all the way back at step five. I'm having to wear the step five aligners for an entire month before I go on to the next step. This process began in May of 2020 and here it is September of 2023. I thought I was gonna be done with this at this point years ago.

    Byte has been great and they stayed on top of my progress. It's not really my fault because I'm doing everything that Byte has told me to do. It's just that it's taken more time and my teeth are just resistant to moving. I really don't want to be back at step five and in each aligner tray for a month but if that's what it takes for me to have the outcome that I desire when I started this process in the first place, then that's what it takes. It would just be a total waste of time if I stopped it at this point. Right now, I am in the aligner trays for 12 to 14 hours a day.

    It's a little more disruptive throughout my day because what I do is I put the timer on my phone for 14 hours and I put them in at night as early as I can before I go to bed. That's 12 to 14 hours so there's really not any way to prevent it from overlapping into my daytime hours. I take them out and stop my clock to have my coffee, to eat my breakfast, brush my teeth, or floss. After that, I put them back in and restart my clock. It's a lot more cumbersome now than it was when I first started out.

    With Byte, I don't have to go to a dentist every week or two. I like being able to do it online without having to deal with people. The process is much easier than one would imagine it. It's inconvenient that it's 22 hours a day though. I'm on the day, but there's the night option if you wanna go with the night. There was discomfort when I first put the new one in, but that went away very quickly. The movement is perfectly timed so that it doesn't hurt for a long time. When I went to the next one, it was gradual that I didn't realize how much it was doing until I was with my husband out at a restaurant. When we were talking, he said my teeth are almost perfect.

    The aligners keeps me from snacking all day. If you eat something, I have to take them out, eat something then wait 20 minutes before I can brush my teeth and then put it back. It's a little embarrassing sometimes when you're in the restaurant and after you eat, you go and brush your teeth, and there are people around. But it is working for me. It's not interfering with my speech. I'm glad I did it.

    Byte has a clinical team and you can ask questions. They respond very quickly. You can call, email or text. You check in once a month, and they ask you to take photographs. You don't have to stop everything and go to the dentist. You do it in your kitchen with your iPhone. You take pictures with the aligners on and the aligners off. They tell you, “It didn't move as much as we'd like. Keep them in for another week,” or, “You're great. You're good to go to the next one.” The advice is always right there. If you have a question, you're not alone. They're always available for you.

    I know how it is when you have crooked teeth. It makes you very shy but it's something that is completely fixable now in private. That's the beauty of it. It's also not that expensive. They're always having coupons and lower prices. They have the whitener that you can put in the tray and it keeps your tray clean and your teeth white and bright. They have the Hyper Byte which is a big part of the treatment. You bite on it and it gives a little hum. It makes the teeth more amenable to shifting around a little bit which makes the process quicker. That's something that other ones don't have. It's a perfect system. I wish other people would do it.

    I liked Byte's good customer service and they were not as expensive as some of the other ones. I got an impression kit. They did it all through the mail. It has these putties in it. And the app gave me the instructions on how to do everything. It was user-friendly. Very simple, nicely laid out. The only thing that I get frustrated with is they have me take pictures for updates. I can't seem to get good angled and good quality photos.

    I'm almost done. I wasn't happy with where everything was at by the time I had finished the initial plan. So, Byte sent me another set, which I'm more than halfway through now, just to get everything set a bit better. They had two options. I could have them during the day. And they had to be in for at least 12 or 14 hours. Or I could do the night time option and they just have to be in for 10 hours. I keep them in while I sleep, a few hours before I go to sleep and an hour or two after I wake up, depending on when I put them in before I go to bed. But just 10 hours and overnight, but no eating or drinking with them.

    I'm in the last two months of the process and my teeth look much different. They're way better. But it’s not completely done. I have one stubborn tooth on my top right that they're continuing to send new molds to make new refinement aligners. There wasn't room for it. But now, it's made enough space. I used to constantly cut dental floss with my teeth because they were so close together. But now I don't even have to use the ribbon dental floss because I've got more space. Right now, I'm getting the handheld treatment of, “Good God! This guy’s had so many refinement aligners. Let's check with him every time before he moves to another stage,” which is some really good customer service. They also give very detailed directions.

    Unfortunately, my calls with Byte always go back into a pool. On Monday, it might be a licensed person who's gonna help me and will request a picture of steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 so they can compare and see if there are any air gaps. Then I send them 1, 2, 3, and 4, and I have to wait three to four days before I get a response. Then I would get someone saying, “I have reviewed your photos. Can you do me a favor and follow the attached directions on trimming this and putting it in warm water to make it a little bit more pliable, then bite down on the doohickey and send us a new picture?” I do that, but then I have to wait three or four more days. They would tell me that my teeth look much better, and to keep wearing the vibrating doohickey you bite down on for five minutes. It helps shake everything into place and helps massage the teeth. There's nothing painful about the process. I'm getting all the support I want, but it could be better.

    Byte keeps changing the app, but they expect you to take pictures of your own teeth. At times, they didn't give you the ability to switch the camera from front to back, so you couldn't see what you were taking a picture of and you had to get somebody else to take a picture. At one point, you could flip the camera, and they wanted you to get it so close that the camera couldn't focus on your teeth, so then you'd have to zoom out and then crop in.

    Right now, I'm working with customer service on a weekly basis to say, “Ok, so is this how you want it now? And how long should I wear this?” But it's annoying that the app keeps telling me, “You need to check in.” So I checked in and took the pictures. The next day, I got an email and a reminder from the app, “You need to check in.” Then it'll be like you have to call customer service and say, “Look, can you get the app to leave me alone?” Or you have to tell them, “Hey, the app thinks I should be changing my aligner every week, but you guys told me two weeks. So can somebody please sync up the app?” The app is constantly changing so I know Byte is trying to make it better. They're just not succeeding in my eyes.

    I'm doing the nighttime-only version so nobody ever sees me with them on during the day. The nighttime ones are a little bit thicker plastic. They're 3D printed forms. They're stronger. When I went to the dentist last time, they said, “Good God! Your gums are in great shape. They're looking great.” Overall, the process is taking much longer than I thought, but Byte continues to send me new molds to make new refinement aligners to keep working with me and I'm quite impressed with that.

    It seemed to me that Byte was the best, both in terms of price and hopefully, quality. They gave me the mold for my mouth that I sent back. I had my stuff in a reasonable amount of time, and I started my treatment. It had its ups and downs, but I'm happy with where we're at. This is my second set of aligners that I'm on. The first set, a little on both sides of not following through well enough, ended up not working. I have those canine teeth. I have very long ones, and those teeth were too big for my first set of aligners. So, they gave me a free new mold and aligners. They made it right. I'm on step 11 of 17, 2 weeks at a time. I have one tooth that's a big issue. It's not in place yet, but it's much better than it was. And my smile is already way better because of it. So, I'm generally happy with the process, apart from having to do it every night.

    At the end of the main treatment, I felt like my gaps were better closed. But right now, we are taking extra steps because one of my teeth was not actually rotated and it has to rotate a little bit. I just sent a photo of my latest set. It was upper 10 and lower 6. And I just switched to upper 11 and lower 6 again because lower six is the final one. This is kind of extension from my main plan. That's why I have like 6 for lower and 14 for the upper level. However, I don't feel like my monthly check ins are being evaluated properly. I feel like I need to call more to get feedback. I had video calls two times and I like my feedback on the video calls. I feel like I am being taken care of when I talk. Also, I'm paying for 18 months and my credit came like that, which I like.

    Byte has a night program, which I don't think the other ones had, and that's what I liked so I went with Byte. The process was super easy. I went online and answered a few questions. They offered me a few different programs according to what I wanted and then they sent me a kit in the mail. I got it within a week of filling out the questionnaire. It was for the molds and I took the molds real easy, put them back in the box, and sent it off. A week or two later, I got my plan with all the molds for my whole plan.

    At first, it was weird having the retainers on and I thought it was gonna bother me when I slept but I really didn't feel them at all. They first day or two, there was a little bit of discomfort because my teeth were moving. But after that, it's like I don't even notice that they're there. Also, it's been super easy going through and I have the app on my phone, which is real easy to follow. They do little follow-ups and I know that they're looking at the pictures that I submit, because if something's wrong and they can see it, they'd call me up and send me an email. It's been really great.

    At the end of my plan. They sent me 15 steps but the plan only shows 14 steps. 8/29 asked support if this was a mistake and got an irrelevant response stating how they handle plans longer than 15 steps. Within an hour I responded with my same question. Day later 9/1 they responded with more questions. I responded 50 min later. That was the last I heard from them. I responded on 9/5, 9/6, 9/7, 9/8 requesting an update. I also opened a new ticket/line of communication on 9/7 in case something happened to the old ticket but still no response. On 9/8 asked for an update to this new ticket yet no response.

    Finally, on 9/8 I sent a text. No response. I asked today, 9/11 via text for an update but so far I have not received one. Due to this lack of response I still have no idea if I am done with my treatment as my plan says, if I am even wearing the correct aligners, and have not ordered my retainers as my plan tells me to do. This is not the first time I had to spend weeks getting Byte's customer support to respond after I had an issue. My plan has taken months longer than planned due to this repeated lack of response.

    I have been a Byte customer for a little over 2 years. That's right, 2 years. It has not been a faster process than traditional braces. It has actually been more of a hassle as well. I have had to submit 3 different molds because the aligners that were being sent were not fitting properly. I am currently on my supposed last aligner and my teeth are not where they are supposed to be and Byte is telling me that I have to pay additional money to continue treatment. Mind you, my treatment is already paid in full and I have not even started my retainers... They say, "guaranteed for life". That's a crock. My wife will be starting an invisible aligner and it will not be with Byte. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    I would not recommend this company if you need anything other than minor alignment. I have pretty strong crowding, so much that my dentist suggested if I wanted straight teeth I should have my teeth filed down to make space. Of course the dentist wanted $5,000 for that treatment with Invisalign so I did the impression kit with Byte. They showed me a fancy diagram of how I would get straight teeth and within 4 weeks I had my first set of aligners. By week 3, my aligners had significant air gaps and support said I needed to do impressions again. The second set wasn't sufficient so I had to do them a 3rd time. I waited another 4 more weeks and had 15 new aligners. By week 7 of round 2, my teeth were slightly straighter but now there's air gaps again. Working with customer support is miserable because they take 5+ days to respond and it's always copy and paste responses.

    Trying to do aligners outside of the dentist office is an admirable goal but when they try to remove the dentist from the equation, it's a total disaster. There's no reason they can't offer better patient service except that it probably costs them too much money. They run this business in a manner where they don't care if you fail, in fact it's probably how they make their money. It's impossible to get a refund and as you'll see in the other reviews, the "smile guarantee" is almost always void because of some nonsense. I really wish this company would have worked but now I'm out $2,000 and my teeth are not straight.

    In October of 2021 I started nighttime aligner treatment with Byte. The first round of aligners went well, though it didn’t quite get to the promised results. I reached out to customer service and they were very responsive and willing to do another round. Unfortunately, I had to get a filling and a chipped front tooth fixed, but because I didn’t let them know beforehand, I “voided the guarantee” and would have to pay for the new treatment plan against the insurance I purchased. Which is understandable, though frustrating given the necessity of treatment so it would have just been a courtesy heads up anyway.

    The real issue and reason for 1 star is what happened when I got the new set. The second round of aligners I was sent didn’t cover my back teeth, which led to me constantly clenching my jaw to try to get them to stay put. I made a support request and was told this was normal and to continue wearing them. After a month, I was in excruciating pain. Like, crying every time I chewed anything harder than white bread excruciating. I went to my dentist who said the aligners were the only plausible cause and to stop wearing them for a few weeks to see if it helped. I sent the note my dentist wrote to customer service and they agreed with the plan of action. The pain went from 10/10 to 7/10 during that time, but 7/10 is still pretty bad. It seemed clear that the aligners were to blame so I stayed out of them for the next 3 months. That, along with 10 rounds of acupuncture, and I was pretty much pain free.

    ANOTHER request to the support team (you can’t just follow up on one email thread, it’s a whole new request every time), and they agreed to send a new impression kit to get a new set. They arrive WITH THE BACK PART MISSING. Just like the previous set that caused this problem, plus they were too high in the front so they would dig into my gums. Yet another support request, again told that it doesn’t matter that they don’t cover all the teeth.

    At this point I’m over it, have spent over a thousand dollars trying to fix their mess, and have irreversible TMJ damage so I requested to stop treatment and get a refund (seems like the LEAST they could do). I was told that I needed a dentist or a physician note to stop treatment, even though I already provided one the first time this issue happened. My (new, not the one who wrote the first note) dentist suggested I see an orthodontist since another patient had a similar issue and the companies typically push for more and more documentation before they take responsibility. The orthodontist I saw said the aligners are almost certainly the problem, but he doesn’t want to write the letter because he’s seen these turn into messy legal disputes. So, everyone sucks here, but mostly Byte, which I recommend you avoid.

    I had some discomfort when I first began wearing the retainers, but now, my mouth is used to them and they feel great. I only take them off when I'm eating something. I wear them majority of the day and all throughout the night. I have noticed that my teeth have been getting straighter, and my bottom teeth, which have a lot of crowding, are starting to straighten out. I'm very happy with the result other than I feel like I would need one more retainer for the bottom teeth. All in all, Byte is definitely worth it.     My teeth land directly on one another, so it looks as if I grind my teeth all the time, but I don't have a grinding issue. My dentist suggested, "Hey, why don't we do Invisalign?" That option was roughly about $3,200 more than Byte. I said, "Well, this makes no sense. Why would I spend so much money and have to come to all these appointments?" I work from home, and with Byte being available at home, every hour stays billable. It makes more sense for me. There is room for improvement though. Some things weren't fully explained. I don't think my mom or my grandmother can handle something like this because of the photographs, but if you're a kid or a person who's grown up with a handheld device and you're used to online communication and comfortable with it, Byte is perfect.

    My first week with the aligners was uncomfortable, but I've spent so much money in the home for braces for the kids and I was sort of expecting it. I chose the nighttime set, and going into it, it sounds like, "Oh, yeah, I'm super. I get eight hours of sleep. I'll just sleep with them." That's if you get eight hours of sleep and you don't go out late for dinner and all these different things. What I did is I aligned my aligner placement with intermittent fasting, and that worked out a lot better. I'm on week four now.

    I had some crowding issues so I wanted to straighten that out a little bit. I liked Byte for the convenience. They just sent an impression kit. It was very easy to to the impression and I had them at home one day and then put them back in the box. They paid for shipping. I have 20 weeks on my top row and 24 on the bottom. I'm on week five of the process. It's a little weird wearing the aligners and it took a little bit of time to get used to them. In the first week, it was awkward and I noticed I was biting down on them a little bit more than I should. It was a little bit tight and took some getting used to on the edges around. It irritated my tongue a little bit. Byte did send a file with the aligners. As I got used to the aligner, the sensations went away and I could tell that my teeth were shifting a lot quicker than I expected them to, so that's a plus. I change every Sunday.

    I had decided on Byte aligners and was generally happy with my progress until the end of treatment. I had a front tooth that wasn't quite right and my teeth protruded more than I expected them to after treatment and I had specified this to them BEFORE I ordered retainers. I was even told they saw where I was unhappy. So They kept giving me the run around wanting pictures after pictures after pictures, I don't know how many pictures I sent but it seemed like quite a few. I was getting frustrated and asked them to please just send a new impressions kit. It seems like they give you the run around on purpose so you finally give up. I decided I needed to order the retainers anyway so I could continue with the treatment and not have issues with my teeth moving while I get this taken care of. BAD idea, and my fatal mistake.

    Because when ordering the retainers you have to specify you are satisfied with your treatment before you can order them. THIS QUESTION IS REQUIRED! So I did and now I can't get my teeth fixed anymore. Yep, even though I told them I wasn't happy but ordered the retainers anyway, so not to have my teeth move, I voided their guarantee for life. Now mind you, they state even if your teeth shift while using the retainers they will help you fix them free of cost. THAT IS A LIE! I was told if I wanted to fix them now, then I would have to pay more money. Even though I expressed this concern before I ordered the retainers and right after the last aligner and they have a record of that. They also said they emailed me and I didn't respond to that email wanting further pictures, THAT also voided the guarantee. A EMAIL, no phone call, no text, no message on my treatment portal. ONE email that I missed on June 6th they stated.

    Nowhere in their guarantee does it state anything like that. I feel like they would do anything to NOT help a customer with an issue, whatsoever. My treatment was done end of June 2023 and it is only August, so only a couple month but my initial concern is becoming more of a problem with biting down correctly so I reached back out to get it corrected and that when I was told nope and given multiple ridiculous excuses why they won't help me now. So basically even if you're happy with treatment or not happy they don't care. They will not cover anything to fix your teeth once you get the first set of retainers and click that box that states you're happy with your results.

    Everything they stated made no sense, I did the treatment correctly, I ordered my retainers when I was suppose and I wear them every single night like advised but they will not correct my issue. My daughter has SmileDirect and she has contacted SmileDirect twice to help fix her teeth when she wasn't quite happy with them, well after her treatment and they ship her out new impression kits and new aligners to get her teeth perfect. She told me to use SmileDirect and I didn't listen because Byte convinced me they had a great guarantee. STAY AWAY FROM BYTE. THEY WON'T HONOR GUARANTEE.

    I always had spacing between my top teeth and my bottom. Since using Byte, I've noticed that the spacing is no longer there. I was provided 13 for my top and 9 aligners for my bottom.     I looked into several companies that had similar products and I liked what Byte had to offer the best. My teenage son uses the product and I liked that he only needed to wear the aligners at nighttime versus all day, every day. That was a big selling point for us. Also, the reps have been incredibly helpful and they answered all of our questions. We've had very positive interactions with them. The only minor hiccup that we've had is they sent the last aligners and I thought that I submitted the information for that a couple weeks ago but I haven't seen those yet.     I am usually very diligent about reading reviews prior to trying something new. I wish I had seen these because they are right on. Multiple attempts to email, text, and call customer support. Useless. The app gives you no updates. I finished my first set and am supposedly waiting for the 2nd/ last set but the company has just gone totally silent. Not only that, it barely works in the first place. I read a response to a review "During treatment, you can reach our Byte Support team by completing a support request at patient.byte.com or by calling...". Hilarious. I should've gotten the rest of my order months ago- not that they're really correcting much but at least I'd be done with company. It cost close to $2k to barely fix one tooth, create a few gaps, and then not receive everything in your order. If you want to waste your money for nothing, this is the company for you.

    I'm just gonna go over the things that will probably happen based off my experience. I'm on week 10 of 13. First off, there will be pain. And not as it's described. It's not pain at the beginning and none after. It's pain every time you change aligners (weekly). Every time you remove them and put them back in it'll hurt for a couple days. And you have to do this every time you eat or drink anything other than water. The pain is bearable, about a 3 out of 10, but we all have different pain tolerance. So be honest with yourself about your tolerance levels.

    Secondly, the aligners sometimes are a little different. I had a set that cut the insides of my mouth. It was very unpleasant. If you feel the friction is too much, I suggest filing it down with the filer they provide before it does any damage. You may also have a lisp. It's not terrible, but it's annoying. You'll figure out how to talk without one, but it'll probably take you a few weeks.

    The process is cumbersome overall. It's just a pain to always have to remove and put aligners back in every time you eat. Plus you'll need to brush your teeth every time. It's mostly annoying at work. You can't go out for a couple drinks. Don't want to go out to eat. A quick snack isn't worth it all. If you can't deal with that, I would suggest the at night aligners.

    However with that said, my teeth have made a notable change. I'm very happy with the results to this point. So it depends. It's not fun, but it works. Follow the directions to a tee. Personally, I would do the night time option if I had to do it over again. As happy as I am with the results, wearing these things for 22 hours a day isn't worth it. Hopefully this helps.

    I'm in the first week and I'm happy with Byte so far. The process was a breeze. I was very scared to start it because I didn't wanna screw it up, but it was easy. On my first day, I would have thrown them in the trash if I didn't spend so much money on them. It was terrible. I felt like a prisoner to them. They were uncomfortable in my mouth. You can't eat whenever you want. Every time I ate, I'd brush my teeth. I always brush my teeth four or five times a day then my teeth started getting very sensitive. I had to quit doing that. I'll eat and floss.

    I've been using Byte for a year and a half. After they send you a certain amount of aligners and if you're not satisfied with your smile, you could email them and they would ask for some other pictures. I sent them in and they told they they would ship however many aligners I needed. Two teeth didn't correct themselves the way that I wanted, so I emailed them again after that set was done. They told me they'd send me another adjustment. I'm hoping that this will correct my concerns. But if I'm not 100% satisfied, they are willing to keep tweaking. They send you an email every once in a while prompting you to do a check-in. You could use the app or the email. They go hand in hand. They get back to you fairly quickly. I was happy with their response time. I'm on my second adjustment but they didn't say, “No. This was what you paid for. This is the plan. You're done.” They were willing to, not once but twice, try to adjust my smile.

    Everything was relatively easy. The molding came with instructions and a video for me to watch, just in case I couldn't follow the instructions. I got everything really fast in the mail as well. My kit came in with nine aligners and a whitening spray. It also came with a little machine that goes in my mouth that I use on a daily basis for five minutes, and it's supposed to move my teeth. I started about two months ago, and the gap on my front teeth is already closed. I love it. The application really helped a lot with the weekly updates, because it reminded me when I had to change my aligner. I set a timer, so it reminded me to put the aligner on. I had very minimal conversation with the Byte customer service person, because I didn't really need to, and everything has been great. My sister is looking into trying the aligners as well, and I was just speaking about it with her.

    You have to pay 15 bucks and Byte would send you the kit to see if you're even an applicant depending on your teeth or how messed up they are. You have to mold the two putties together and take the forms. You have to do two forms on top and two forms on the bottom. It takes about 15 minutes each time. You drool everywhere and it's disgusting. Then, you mail these forms back. Byte has an awesome 3D thing that can extrapolate the information. Then, they send you a yes or no, if you're an applicant, which I was. I had an overbite and a couple of gaps. They figure out the treatment steps, such as how many aligners you're gonna need and the course of the treatment and if you wanted to do daytime or nighttime.

    With the daytime, the treatment plan is shorter because you wear the aligners longer during the day. But I chose nighttime because I didn't wanna be bothered with it. You just wear them at night. Realistically, it was 24 aligners in total and you had to wear each set for one week. I'm on my last set of aligners. My teeth are right where they said they'd be. They send you this progression scale that takes you through the aligners, what your teeth look like in the beginning and what they're gonna potentially look like at the end. And my teeth look exactly like they said they're gonna look like at the end. Those little molds snap right on your teeth like a Lego brick going together. You can feel the pressure on your mouth. It's a nice feeling.

    I had a crowding issue on one side of my teeth and I needed to get that fixed up by almost moving just two teeth. I also needed training everything else out. I went with Byte and so far, I haven't had any hiccups yet. I'm still going through the treatment and I'm on my 15th week right now. People at home and friends say it seems like my teeth's moving quickly and I'm excited to see how the rest of it goes.     Do not use them. They got my son through 15 weeks of treatment and we weren't happy with the position of his teeth. We followed all the steps and made sure he wore the aligners and his teeth did move, but after the final step, they do not look right. Ten weeks and 30-40 pictures later, they still were asking for more pictures with no offer of how to proceed with a resolution. Their end game was to wait us out and wear us down until we caved and told them to just send us the retainers we had prepaid for that will hold our son's teeth in a position that is not right... Shame on you and your customer service people. They drug this out and finally won in the end. Don't use them. Spend the money for an orthodontist, this is a subpar process.     This company is going to take your money up front, provide a very untimely response time to any problems and there are many. I have had them 'working' on my teeth and it has been 8 months [they said 9 weeks total treatment plan] and my teeth are a mess. They show you a plan, as the fake computer 3-d models, not really what is going to happen in your mouth! It took 2 months to get management to respond - a phone call was cut off and they did not even call back to complete the concern and finalize a plan for a paying customer? They have your money so that's it. I wish I could do more to warn people.

    Creating the molds was easy. I threw on some gloves, messed with the putty and then put it on. Sending it back was very easy too and the customer service was excellent. Wearing the molds is not too bad at all. I brush my teeth twice a day and I make sure that I scrub them clean with my toothbrush if I see anything on them. It's very easy and I love talking about it to my friends because they’ll ask why I am wearing them. And I'll tell them the whole story.

    I have the overnight ones and I wear them often during the day. I can take them off for a few hours if I need to. If I know I'm going out and it would be like a little too tricky, I could take them off. Then I compensate with more wear time later in the day. The results have been great. My teeth have shifted a whole lot and I've even had people comment that my teeth look good. Byte is fast, easy and comfortable, and I totally recommend it. The app that I use is an interesting way to track which aligners you're on and how often you use the vibrate thing. Sometimes, it is a little glitchy but that's not related to physical care. I use the molds every night anyway so it's not like I need the app to keep track but it works as best as they can. It's technology and I get it.

    I was so excited when I got my impressions and almost 1 year later my teeth are worse than when I started! I've done two different sets of impressions and received two entire sets of aligners that did not fit right. My teeth are so offset that they have to settle for months before we proceed and try another. I have to badger and send email after email to even get a response and they treat me as if I'm an inconvenience. The product is meant for people who need MINOR ADJUSTMENTS!!     All my teeth had shifted significantly over the years since I had braces when I was young, so I wanted to straighten everything out again. Byte sends you impression kits and you have to do dental impressions on your own. I thought I was more experienced because I had a lot of dental work and a lot of impressions when I was a kid, but it still wasn't that easy. I've been on a 10-week program for 20 months now, and I've done impressions the second time, and I can say that it was not that easy to get them right. I might have gotten them wrong the first time. My teeth have certainly improved. They're a lot better than when I started.

    I am getting results, but I would never recommend Byte to anyone. A regular interaction with an actual orthodontic practitioner would be big. I haven't heard from anybody in months. They ask me for feedback all the time, but no one tells me if the things are going well or if they're not going well. I feel like I had to fight for 3rd rounds of impression kits because my teeth aren't right and they guarantee that they'll be right.

    I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration with the Byte at-home braces system that I signed up for over 9 months ago. I must emphasize that my experience with this product has been nothing short of a complete disappointment, causing me physical discomfort, extensive dental expenses, and significant distress.

    When I initially received the aligners from Byte, I followed the instructions diligently and began wearing them as directed. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, I experienced excruciating pain and discomfort. The aligners not only caused intense soreness but also led to severe cuts and abrasions inside my mouth, necessitating medical intervention. I have been prescribed antibiotics on 3 occasions to address the resulting infections from wearing these aligners.

    Considering the severity of the adverse reactions I experienced, my PCN has come to the conclusion that either I am allergic to a component in the aligner material and, that the craftsmanship of the aligners caused aberrations and cuts. It is distressing to know that the product I trusted to improve my dental alignment has instead caused me significant harm and has exacerbated my pre-existing health conditions.

    I have made multiple attempts to contact your customer support team to voice my concerns and request a refund, I have sent the document and the note from my doctor stating my allergy and that MUST discontinue However, to my utter disappointment, I have not received a satisfactory response thus far. The lack of acknowledgment and resolution from this company only serves to reinforce my belief that this entire experience is not only a disappointment but also a clear indication of the dishonest practices employed by this company.

    I am deeply disappointed with the entire Byte at-home braces system and the subsequent lack of support and accountability. As a consumer, I trusted that the product would improve my oral health and enhance my smile. Instead, I have experienced excruciating pain, incurred hundreds of dollars in medical expenses, and suffered undue physical discomfort caused by these aligners.

    Stay away, see your dentist, and get an actual professional to address your orthodontic needs.

    I signed up with Byte online then we ordered the kit to take the impression. After the impressions were complete, they walked me through the whole thing and it was very easy. The number of aligners that Byte gives to their customers varies per person and how long they think it's going to take to straighten your teeth because there's an orthodontist that look at your bite. Then they send you pictures that show step by step how your bite is going to change. And mine is going to take three months if I wear my aligners every day and do exactly what they told me to do.

    I feel like the aligners they sent me are going to work because they are snug. There was the uncomfortableness like you would with braces at first, then it gets a little easier. I'm adjusted to them now. I feel tension because they're adjusting my teeth slowly. My daughter is doing the same thing and she has her Byte aligners for a month now. Her teeth moved already.

    I should be close to done right now, but I had to go back into the previous aligners and it wasn't the original plan. I have a 20 retainer plan for the top and 12 for my bottom. I tried to request the remainder but Byte told me that it looks like my teeth weren't fitting the aligners properly or there are gaps between the aligner and my teeth. I thought they fit well though, and I didn't feel any pain. Other than that, I like the way my teeth look now compared to before I got the Byte treatment, but it could have been better. It's nowhere near as effective as braces.

    I like the end result with Byte. I see my smile every day and it's what I wanted. I'm not covering my mouth anymore when I laugh. Their price was also way better than others on the market. I chipped my very back tooth in the middle of the process. Thankfully, it didn't impact it. It's been amazing so far. I still haven't finished but they make it super easy. One thing I enjoy is the app. It's a recent update. When I first started, there was no app to keep track of the data and the progress. It was easy at the beginning. It was the middle of the pandemic so I didn't have to leave my home. I don't make food for myself so I eat out all the time. Being forced in the home, it was a bit stricter to keep to the process. But whenever the restrictions lifted, I was out more and taking my aligners out more. The app whipped me back into place.     The teeth correction I was getting Byte for was a simple one and it was something that I didn't really need to go to an in-person dentist for. My experience with them was nice, simple, and quick. Hopefully, we can get it done within four to five months if I'm able to go through the plan correctly. At the beginning of the treatment, they send you a impression kit that comes with four of the trays that you use for your mouth, two for the bottom, two for the top, then you mix together two different putties that are different colors. So, you can tell which one's supposed to be which.

    Once you've mixed them together, they start to harden quickly. So, you have to roll them out, push them into that mold, then get them good and flat. Once you have them in the mold, you put your teeth in the mouth guard just like you would if you were trying to create an impression of your teeth. Then you push it up into your mouth or down onto your jaw then hold it there for three to five minutes. Once that three to five minutes is up and the putty is hardened enough, you can take it out without it messing up your impression.

    In terms of following the instructions, this process was extremely easy to complete. But in terms of the feeling of having the impression kit in your mouth, there's really nothing you can do about that. Having the impression kit in your mouth wasn't super comfortable for five minutes. If there was a way to make the putty dry faster or even make it less uncomfortable, that could be an improvement. But it's probably one of those things that you can't.

    Once I made the molds, they sent me my aligners. They send you everything that you need for the first 15 weeks, for your top and bottom sets of teeth. Day-to-day, I'll get up in the morning and I'll still have the aligners in from last night. I wear them 22 hours a day, so I wear them the entire time I'm asleep and anytime I'm not eating or drinking something that's not water. I will take them out anytime it's time for me to eat or drink or doing anything else that involves my mouth that you would not want them to get damaged or torn up. The way that Byte described them, they can be somewhat fragile and you don't want them to break and have to wait for more aligners to come in. It is a tight fit because it's moving your teeth around, but I wouldn’t say that it's uncomfortable to take off or put on. And anytime you take them out and eat or drink anything, you have to wash your mouth and make sure everything's clean before you put them back in.

    I've been using it as an incentive to help me diet because it's not really worth it to take your aligners out to eat a bag of chips. You have to brush your teeth, drink a bunch of water, floss, then put them back in. It's not really worth it. And it's helped me a lot since I've lost some weight during this process. Naturally, my teeth are in pretty good shape, but I wanted the front four teeth on the bottom, my central lower teeth, to be a little bit more straight. Because the way that they are naturally, they didn't look as great as I would like it to, and I knew it could if I was to go through this process.

    I've been using the BrightByte that came with the aligners and my teeth have significantly gotten whiter since using them. I always try to make sure that I follow the instructions of making sure that I brush my teeth first, floss, rinse the aligners out, make sure they're good and clean, then squirt some foam in both of them, even it out, make sure that it's got a good amount, and just pop them in. Whenever I pop them in, because the foam is white then it looks whiter immediately. But even once it's long dried out and the cleaner is no longer in my mouth, the teeth themselves have definitely been significantly whiter recently. It has helped my ability to feel confident whenever I smile.

    I've had a great experience with Byte and I would recommend it to others. Recently, I had some dental work done where I had to have a dental crown put on one of my front teeth. When that dental crown came in, it didn't exactly match my old tooth as there are some differences. So, my top rows of aligners don't exactly fit currently and I have to get with the Byte help team to try to see if they can get me some new ones or do a new impression kit for the top so they can make molds that fit that new tooth. But other than that, it's been fantastic.

    Byte responded pretty quickly, and they were offering a discount for the first step. They walked me pretty much through the plan. They sent a kit to do impressions, did the impressions, and then provided me with the treatment plan that asked if I wanted to move forward with the treatment plan. I'm on week 6 of 16, and it seems to be coming along okay. They have some regularly scheduled check-ins where you send them photographs, and they tell you if you’re experiencing any problems, to contact them. So far, it's been pretty seamless for me.

    I’m on the night plan. I wear the aligners 10 hours a night every night. That seemed a little bit easier process for me because I travel for work and often meet with clients. I didn't want to wear the 22 hour, or the daytime ones. I can see that the separation between my teeth is closing, and the alignment closing. Also, Byte gives you a solution that you put into the aligners prior to putting them on, and it has definitely brightened and whitened the teeth. So there are some visible changes taking place.

    Updated on 03/16/2024: This company is terrible in all aspects from sale to service and proper dental treatment. You are sent a mold tray to start. The treatment plan is then set up with 15 weeks, but NO ONE ever comes near to completing the plan in the agreed upon time frame. My approximately 4 month plan lasted 1.5 years without even being close to be corrected. I had to stop the program. Getting out to the program is ridiculous.

    You never actually speak with a person it is all AI and Chat BOT (which they completely deny) however after months of fighting I received partial refund in summer of 2023 and BYTE was to never contact me again. Starting on March 14, 2024 I received text and email from BYTE to purchase a new aligner. I responded to both the email and text with DO NOT CONTACT ME by TEXT, EMAIL, PHONE or USPS. But I then received another email from someone named JENNY who sent my email to managers to rectify my complaint.--- JENNY is not a Real Person. This company has now violated NYS and Federal Regulations of do not contact.

    Original Review: In Spring of 2022 I purchase aligners to straighten my teeth in 3 months as they claim. I answered questions about my dental health and was quickly approved and contacted by sales department. I paid on full, out of pocket. The teeth molding tray arrived and the the set of 15 aligners arrived by mid May 2022. I began the plan. By week 6 I started to question fit but was told it was good and keep on going. Then after 4 weeks I was told to back track to week 6. I was also provided a new kit for a new set of aligners in the early Fall of 2022. This set also had 15 weeks. I moved along then. These also stopped fitting week 6/7 but they didn't tell me this until week 10. At this point it is May 2023. 1 year later with no end in site.

    I also found out I needed an emergency root canal. Byte demanded a note from dentist plus x-rays. Please remember no dentist approval or x-rays were needed to start program. I am seeking to stop the treatment but Byte is not responding or listening. Most responses from Byte do not include a staff member name, are cut/paste generic non answers. I am certain it is AI/Bot communication. Avoid it. Use your local dental offices for aligners.

    Please just go to a dentist office where you can get the customer service needed for such a big investment. I am still waiting for a refund 5 1/2 weeks after cancelling the order before it was even manufactured. I went through the impressions and was setup to have a phone meeting on April 14th with a representative. I stated in my email to the customer service department that I wanted daytime trays. The rep that I had the call with took my HSA card number and processed the charge $2748. My confirmation email the same day and it was for night trays which were $400 more. I immediately contacted Byte via email, text, and a support link to leave a message. No one got back to me to let me know that my order was corrected and that I was refunded the overcharge.

    Text again on Monday the 17th asking for a confirmation that my order has been corrected and "Jamie" stated that he was working on and that he had submitted a refund and would reach out once everything had been corrected. The following Monday, April 24th, I asked for the status. He replied "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. I will reach out to them right now and see where everything is at". Four days later I still had not received a reply and it had been 13 days since I had reached out to fix the problem. I sent a text, email and tried to call. I stated in my text that I no longer had faith in the company to provide me with the service I had paid for and requested a full refund as my order was never confirmed correctly. No reply.

    On Friday, April 28th, I sent another text and asked why no one will return any of my messages and he actually responded with "Sorry. I sent this over as a tech ticket. The refund was approved on the 17th. I am not sure why it hasn't shown up on your end as of yet" and I sent pictures of my account to prove that I still had not received it. NO REPLY. Monday, May 1st - another text. No reply. Wednesday, May 3rd, another text. My phone number is now on a "do not accept" black list because I no longer receive a menu of items to choose from but goes directly to "extention 0489 is not available". I have left dozens of messages with no return call. I called from my husband's phone, at the menu I chose that I was not a customer but had questions for customer service. I was told that there was a 10 minute wait. 45 minutes later and it is now 7pm when they close and still no answer. I left a message. Still no return reply.

    I have submitted a complaint with the BBB as well. The representative finally answered my text with "the tech team is saying that you should have the refund in the next few days". I thanked him. Friday, May 5th, still no refund. Text again and was sent a screen shot saying 15 days in Refunded, 35 Days in Closed/100% complete. With an answer to call my HSA provider. I did that and was told that nothing has been submitted. I text Jamie again yesterday, May 22nd, still no refund. May 23rd, 5 1/2 weeks later, and I still have not received a refund. No answers from anyone. IF the company processed a refund, it was not to my account.

    Byte is the worst product and company ever. It’s all lies. They tell you 3 months but I am 3 aligner sets, all terrible quality by the way, in and still no results. Actually, my teeth have gotten worst and I now have bone protruding from the bottom of my jaw. Customer service is awful. Stay away at all costs.
