I wish I could give one star. We ordered a Sleep Number in November. Took the first available delivery date in January. After Sleep Number confirmed the delivery the day before, I took off work, disrupted my home to prepare. I sat and waited the 3 hour window. Heard nothing. Finally after the delivery window I called them. They told me they could not in fact deliver (because of bad weather even though it was 60 degrees and sunny). They rescheduled me for February. Again they confirmed the delivery the day before. I again took off work and disrupted my home to ensure everything was the way they request on their delivery prep. Again I sat and waited 3 hours. At the end of the delivery window, they called and said they could not deliver again. The excuse given this time was that the product was not there. They tried to reschedule for March. I declined and asked for a refund.
I emailed, asked to talk with someone in management. Each time I talked-- I got zero apologies, zero actual believable excuses. If they have this poor of customer service after 3 months of having my thousands of dollars but my not even having the product yet, I can't imagine how bad the service is when you need them after a while with the product.

We thought our sleep number bed was the answer we were looking for. We had the bed 6 years or so, and it worked as expected with only minor issues a reset would resolve. Recently, the bed had a leak through the Air Chamber - Side Port and my wife's side fully deflated. When I contacted customer service, I was extremely disappointed to learn that the “warranty” is heavily prorated and only covers select components. Even more frustrating, technician service is not included. Although the side port is a known weak point, the bed was technically still under warranty, we were told we would need to pay $282.60 (after tax) for a replacement after paying $190.00 for the tech visit.
Now after his visit, both sides of the bed are fully deflating while sleeping, and the pump doesn't recognize that its losing air and does not try to refill automatically. This is making us wake up several times per night to refill it to 100% just to get an extra couple mins of sleep. Given the premium price of a Sleep Number bed, this experience feels unacceptable. What was marketed as a high-quality, long-term investment has turned out to feel like an overpriced air mattress — easily our biggest purchase regret.

This $8,000 bed was a waste of money. It’s nothing more than a glorified knick-knack.
1. The app barely works. This means adjusting the bed is impossible. The point of buying this bed was for the adjustability.
2. When the app is working, it rarely records a sleep score claiming I was not in bed ALL night.
3. The sides of the bed are not sturdy. We were told by the two people who set up the bed, at our home, to never sit on the edge. We dutifully took that direction to heart and never sit on the edges, yet it still feels like we’re falling out of bed because the edges lack sturdiness.
4. If you purchase a split bed so each side can work independently, be prepared to spend lots of money on a limited range of sheet options. And, you will likely need to purchase the sheets from SN.
5. I just read a bunch of Google reviews and am astounded at the comments /responses from the SN representatives. Very defensive with anyone who didn’t give a glowing review of the product and / or experience with this brand.

Sleep Number distributes lies and empty promises! Their beds fail after a year and after spending thousands hoping for restful sleep, they will lurch in to only overcharge you to fix the garbage they sold you! It is a trap! Do not buy this bed or any of its components! I’m on my second pump and there’s no hope in sight for my flat air chamber on my ridiculously expensive bed that is 6 years old. Complete garbage.

I am writing this review from a completely deflated air mattress. Our Sleep Number bed had issues from the beginning, but worked for a year or so. The number stopped adjusting and my side was completely deflated. I called customer service and found out that the warranty is a complete lie. They prorate it and only cover certain things. Also, the technician is not covered. So even though our pump was completely faulty and didn’t work at all and our bed was still under warranty, we were told we had to pay over $400 for a new one. The bed is now completely deflated on both sides with no way to reinflate it without the pump. The cost of the sleep number bed is such a racket. It is basically a $20 air mattress and our biggest purchase regret.

I purchased an i8 and flexfit 2 in October. I called to return the mattress (super uncomfortable) and base (base is defective). I was told that the base is non-refundable. Well, I explained that i was never told this and I never signed or received a contract, I went through a friend of a friend. Come to find out, the sales rep went ahead and just forged my signature on all of it. It was listed as a “phone order” even though I never spoke to her on the phone.
I explained that I never received a contract or any terms, even the fraudulently signed ones and they told me that I verbally agreed, even though I didn’t. I said if the calls are recorded, to pull the call, but they said they couldn’t which is convenient since it never happened. How can I verbally consent to terms that were never given to me? I never gave my consent for my signature to be added on any documentation.
I have the phone records to prove there was no call, I have the entire conversation leading up to the purchase and not once was I asked to look at or sign anything, I was never given warranty information, nothing. This is the worst customer service I have ever come in contact with and the shadiest business practice I have ever seen as they do not care that the contract was falsely signed.

I purchased a Sleep Number bed priced at approximately $13,000, sold with what was presented as a 15-year warranty. Based on that representation and the premium price point, I expected long-term reliability and support. After just three years, the foot-warming feature on my wife’s side of the bed failed. After completing diagnostics with a Sleep Number technician over the phone, it was confirmed that the warming unit on that side needs to be replaced.
This is where the disappointment began. Despite the marketing around a “15-year warranty,” the reality is that full coverage only applies for the first year. After that, replacement parts are prorated, and labor/service costs are not covered at all. In other words, even with a known defect in a premium feature after only three years, the customer is still responsible for significant out-of-pocket costs. For a product at this price level, this feels misleading at best and unacceptable at worst. A $14,000 bed should not have critical features failing this early, nor should customers be left paying additional money to repair them so soon. The warranty structure is not aligned with the premium branding or pricing.
Buyers beware. If you’re considering Sleep Number, read the warranty details very carefully and understand what “15 years” actually means. In my experience, the product is overpriced, poorly supported, and not worth the long-term cost. I will not purchase from this company again, and I strongly recommend researching competitors that offer comparable features at a far lower price and with better support. You’ll spend too much upfront, and likely even more fixing it just a few years down the road.

Sat and waited for 4 hours and no one came to deliver, no one called! Supposedly after calling them was told weather was the issue and when asked why was I not notified they stated that they ”had a lot of phone calls to make"! Now rescheduled delivery and when I asked to be made later in the day was told they can’t do that, you inconvenienced me but I have to adjust?? Not getting a good feeling about this process!

Purchased a Split Cal King I8 setup,. Remember saying we did not need an adjustable bed, but when they came back with the best deal it was in there. Nobody verbally explains that the adjustable base is NOT INCLUDED in the 100 day trial and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Yes, you sign paperwork that is full of tiny lettering and BS, but it needs to be made clear to those who are buying, this is best practice and looks out for customers. Loved my first Sleep Number bed but ended up paying $3400 for c4 bed, will never buy another Sleep Number bed again. Terrible company. Would never purchase from again!

Purchased a Split King setup, was FORCED to purchase an adjustable base because that is the only way they will sell a Split King. Nobody verbally explains that the adjustable base is NOT INCUDED in the 100 day trial and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Haven’t even gotten my items. Ordered in November and delivery dates are for next year. Also called customer service and he yelled at my wife I had to step in and they hung up once I set him straight. If this is what I am purchasing. Not worth the money. So here’s the catch 90% of the time you’re speaking with somebody from the Philippines or another country. It’s all US based this is the catch when the customer service rep picks up the phone they said hello my name is Jon and my Sleep Number number is 65. Well he’s from the Philippines or the India or some other country and they don’t even ship that bed to the country. It’s only the US based or military based. Done I can’t believe this is even a thing.
The customer service lies from the beginning they lie throughout the whole entire thing. It’s a joke. Customer service is absolutely baloney. I would not spend my time money or anything with these people because just off the get-go when they introduce themselves it’s a lie it’s 99.99999999% of the time it is somebody based not inside the United States and they lie to you from the get-go about their sleep number number and they say that their sleep number is like 45/20 or 35 or 100 or whatever it is and it’s absolute baloney.
I would not deal with these people. They need to get their priorities straight. Customer service is number one here in the United States. They promised a lot of promises, but they never fulfill any of them. I have the documentation based off a screenshots from chat so you can see in my conversations with the chat rep that’s not in the United States and they can’t fulfill their promises that they make. Never got my refund returned to the bed.

My wife and I purchased a Sleep Number bed with an adjustable base. Unfortunately, the mattress was not firm enough for my back issues. After waiting 30 days to return it, we were surprised to learn that the base is not refundable. If we had known this we would never had purchased. We now see that the small print provided after the purchase said the base is non refundable. What good does a base with no mattress do me? I am now stuck with this $2800 base and no apparent recourse. I ask Sleep Number to please make good on the original promise of a refund, including the base. I hope to hear back about a remedy for this situation.

Misleading, inaccurate information and hidden fees cost us hundreds of dollars. We recently moved to Florida and were excited to visit the local Altamonte Springs Sleep Number to purchase a new bed for my husband's bad back. We were in the process of buying a home, so we asked the sales associate one critical, point-blank question: If we had our mattress and frame delivered to our temporary family address, could we later have them relocated to our new home for a single fee? The answer from the associate was an unambiguous "Yes, it will be a $250 fee." We agreed, finding that reasonable. We proceeded to purchase a split king mattress and a non-refundable FlexFit base, spending over $7,000 on the set. When the technicians delivered and set up the base, we confirmed the relocation fee again. They also assured us: "$250 for the whole thing, no biggie."
The Bait-and-Switch Pricing. Unfortunately, the mattress worsened my husband's back pain, so we decided to return it and keep the non-refundable base. This is where the price guarantee evaporated. When we contacted customer support, a supervisor informed us that the information given by both the sales associate and the delivery technicians was completely inaccurate.
The single $250 relocation fee we were promised actually breaks down into a series of separate, required charges:• $250 to return the mattress.
• $250 to disassemble the FlexFit base at our current address.
• Customer must move the heavy, disassembled base themselves.
• $250 to reassemble the base at the new home.
This means we were quoted a simple $250 service but were actually facing costs of $750, plus the logistical burden of moving the equipment ourselves.
Unacceptable Lack of Accountability. As someone who works in luxury aviation and has over two decades in customer service, I am deeply troubled by the lack of clarity, transparency, and the repeated pattern of misleading information given by Sleep Number representatives. The supervisor, Ronica, while polite, was dull, unempathetic, and completely unwilling to work with us on the pricing discrepancy. She showed no concern that representatives—who are the face of the company—were giving repeatedly inaccurate information that costs customers hundreds of dollars. The base is non-refundable, which now makes perfect sense given the alarming lack of customer service and the hidden fee structure. This experience is misleading and absolutely unacceptable. If the base wasn't costing me $2,910, I would put it on the sidewalk out of principle. Awful, just awful.

We purchased New King i8 360 Smart Bed in 2022, expected an investment of $5,500 bed would provide comfort sleep for a long time. In less than two years, mattress became soft and saggy, I woke up with back pain every morning. We have increased air pressure all the way to 100; my husband and I weigh 160 and 115. After doing all the trouble shootings, Sleep Number support suggested replacing the foam, the cost, $600 plus $380 technician diagnosis and installation. Would anyone not regret getting sleep number bed?

Purchased a $6k bed in 2015, original air chambers were replaced under warranty twice. Upon the third issue in 2025 they charged me $250 for a new air chamber which fixed my problem. But 4 months later same problem. Called customer service and they told me the warranty is only 30 days now, and the replacement price is higher than the last one. They tell you that they have this great warranty, what a joke. Do yourself a favor and buy a regular mattress for a 10th of the price and replace it every 5 years. Save yourself the aggravation of waking up at 4am with back pain because your air chamber failed in the middle of the night. Avoid sleep number at all cost, you will thank me later.

Please do not buy. I have had my Sleep number for 5 years and have not been able to sleep on it since the 2nd week. My 300 couch from Amazon is by far more comfortable. No matter what setting what side what position I feel like I got hit by a car after 2 hrs. Only reason I still have it is the absurd amount of money I paid for it. No bed should be this bad.

If I could give a negative star rating I would. I purchased a mattress 6 months ago and it was working ok. Then I purchased an adjustable bed for 2200.00. Took 2 weeks to deliver. When they installed it, nothing worked. So I had to wait another week for a technician. They said I had the wrong pump and that was the problem. They put the new pump on and still did not work. They said the pump was not programmed for my mattress. They left with my original pump and no air in the mattress. I called customer service and they said it would be another week. I told them forget it and come pick it up because I want to return it. They said all sales are final. So I am pursuing legal remedies due to a defective product.

Worst bed. Worst company. Ever. We spent $5k on mattresses in 2017. Last year we decided to get a base as well and spent $5k on that. It was December of 2024 and it wasn't delivered until 2/14/2025. It worked for 3 weeks and we have had constant E3 codes ever since. It'll work for a few days and then I get a code. I've had sleep number out multiple times. They've combined our mattress and base remotes into one, then they replaced parts on the base, then they replaced the entire base. I asked for a refund and they said they couldn't issue a refund, the warranty only covers repairs. Then they finally said after months of problems and countless calls, that the mattresses were too old to work on one remote and sent out another remote for the mattresses only. I tried multiple times to get in touch with them to separate the remotes and couldn't get help.
Finally someone helped me and it worked for less than 24 hours before I had the same connectivity issues. They should have told us before we bought it that the base would not work with old mattresses. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. They responded and said THE CUSTOMER SHOULD KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE CONNECTIVITY PROBLEMS WITH THE BASE GIVEN THE AGE OF THE MATTRESSES.
The audacity!!! No one told us when we bought the base that they wouldn't work with older mattresses. They knew our mattresses were purchased in 2017. Never once did I hear that. THEY SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT FROM THE BEGINNING. Now the only answer is to buy $5k worth of new mattresses?? I don't think so.Funny thing is my parents just bought a base and mattresses and decided they didn't like them and are returning them. Why can they return theirs but we can't? We have had it less than a year. No one should buy from this company!!!

Sleep Number is a scam. They are selling base not mattress. Tell me now Base is undependable. Bed so uncomfortable, not for the older people. It flipped me out twice injuring my shoulder. Trying to return no answer, they are trying to run out my 100 days. Bed is so uncomfortable for me and husband. You can't change positions, just feel stuck. Can't sleep near edge there is no support.

$3,400. Down the drain. Purchased a Ca. King I-8 bed from Sleep Number and Very disappointed in the quality of this product and the excuses I received from staff & warranty dept. They were full of excuses on why the 1.5” sink holes were all over the topper, they wanted $450. for a replacement. Buy a (NECTAR) bed. They come with lifetime warranty, you will be happy that you did, I know I am.

My dad is elderly and I'm helping him set up his new Sleep Number bed. This system is poorly designed, with many obvious points of possible failure - a couple of which we encountered - and very poor mechanisms for troubleshooting or solving problems independently, and slow and cumbersome customer service. This is the stupidest product design and business model possible for a bed, for reasons that should be obvious to anyone venturing into producing them. Shame on everyone involved in this company.

Ridiculously expensive product so one would expect better service should one have a defective bed, however all costs and repairs are on the consumer, Sleep Number management takes no accountability. We have had issues since month 6 and have to replace so many parts that we have to buy from Sleep Number and do the repairs ourselves. This was our 3rd Sleep Number over 15 yrs. but definitely our last.

I wish I had never walked into a Sleep Number store. My purchase has turned into the WORST decision I have ever made. Foot warmer broke less than 4 years and was told the replacement would cost over $230. That price was only good for 30 as the price may go up. The amount of money spent on this trash is regrettable. I will tell anyone and everyone who'll list to turn the other way and shop elsewhere. This is overpriced crap is HOT GARBAGE.

I bought a split king with adjustable base. It was not comfortable at all. I called to return it with their 100 day trial. They sent me 3 inch toppers for free instead. It helped a little bit. I tried to do the return again and that's when I found out that they only take the mattress back. I was stuck with the adjustable frame. By the way, the frame is the expensive part of my first deal. So I kept it for a year and a half or so and decided to upgrade the mattress to the Limited Edition flex top. That ended up being more of a mistake than the first bed. What a piece of junk it is. It does not fit the base correctly and sags on the sides so bad. And the flex top separates and leaves a big space to under the bed. I tried to get them to fix the problem, but they want to charge me to come look at it. What kind of warranty is that? So all in all, I would tell people to run, not walk away from Sleep Number stores. My $10,000 in mistakes says so.

We bought a $5,000 Sleep Number bed out of their Longmont, Colorado store 5 years ago. We have consistently been disappointed about its performance since the beginning. Here are the issues:
1. The bed never got firm enough for our preferences despite the fact that we set both sides at 100 per the sales person's recommendations. We learned to live with that, believing it was unrealistic to get any firmer. This belief was undercut recently by the comments by two Sleep Number technicians who came to our house and said we had bought a more expensive bed that provided a less firm bed than the cheaper version because it relied on more foam than air cushioning. The in-store personnel never told us of this alternative when we first bought it.
2. The firmness of the mattress on my side frequently deteriorated if it didn't constantly bring it back to the 100 level. That was a pain to constantly check its level and adjust.
3. The heater on my wife's side frequently failed to work, but since it operated erratically and functioned correctly from time to time we never sought help. (Perhaps that was our fault....)
4. In the last 6 weeks, my wife's side has continuously lost firmness and now it is a shrunken shell. It took 2 weeks to get repair technicians out to the house to check it. When they finally came, they told us to give it a few days to see if reinflating the air mattress solved the problem because it may have been a faulty air pump. We waited two days and found the mattress had deflated again and called the technician on his line as he suggested. Together we concluded that the problem was a leak rather than an air pump and I asked for repair of the mattress. Told to buy a new air mattress, I agreed and provided a credit card for the purchase.
Now it's been 10 days since that inspection and not having heard from the company for a date to come out to replace the faulty mattress, I was told that there was no record of a request for a new mattress and that it would take another 10 days to schedule a tech to bring out the new air mattress. So, in sum, we have been without an acceptable mattress for nearly 1 month.
5. In short, shoddy product and even worse customer service! We will never buy another Sleep Number bed again!

Don't buy this garbage, I've had to replace chambers 7 times for no reason whatsoever. Sometimes it lasts a year, sometimes two or three years Max but I have to keep reordering the chambers. They used to give me a discount every time I reordered but now, Since I'm such a good customer, I have to pay full price? So now it's time for the one star reviews all over the Internet.. I hope they go out of business.

Please don't buy their products, it's all a lie, almost two years it broke. Now they don't care. If someone comes to fix it is $190.00 each time. Bed is fine so far. However, their customer service is so poor, I wish I had never purchased the bed. Their system changes the order if you make a change. As a result, it is easy to lose discounts for items that remain the same after a change. This happened to us and they refuse to make the full correction. Only a partial correction and that is unacceptable. Also, they are not transparent when it comes to the sale tax they use as well as to what is taxed and what is not. Also, very rude over the phone. When I explained that the invoice I was looking at appeared different that what the rep was looking at, the rep told me that I was wrong and refused to even receive a screenshot of the receipt I was looking at. They are rude and condescending and frankly, they have no reason to be as they are not exactly the leaders of our society.

I bought my bed at the Store in Maple Grove...They saw me coming! I was sold a bill of goods! My bed was delivered, it was not what I expected. I returned the box spring when my bed was delivered because I didn't need it. Three weeks later they don't even have the return in their system. Horrible store to work with!! Bed is no better than any other bed except MORE expensive!
