The Rent-A-Center located in El Cajon, CA has been contacting my references numerous times on the same day that I paid my payment that was due on the same day. Then when a few days later they showed up to my place and threatens and harassed my roommate who also has a major hear condition and demanded that he makes my payment for me or they were going to call the police on him. They've even called him number times and threatens him over the phone as well. This company and the El Cajon, CA rent a center location have been informed by me on multiple occasions to not contact my references and to not contact me while I'm at work.

They did not listen and still continue to do whatever they please to try and collect payment on this contract. They have also been informed that my roommate who is only a reference and not a cosigner has a heart condition and was informed to not contact him and that any stress could cause him to have another massive heart attack and could kill him. My roommate is looking to get an attorney and sue rent a center for harassment and unwanted threats. due to covid lockdowns and stay home order and my roommate being put out of work because of his condition thing have been tight.

I know I'm overdue on my payment and have tried to make arrangements with them and they still demand that I make my payment immediately even after informing them that I have lost hours at work due to this whole shutdown. His statement to me was that this was my problem and not theirs and that I have to pay them regardless or return the item I'm making payments on and have my contact cancelled even though I've paid more than half of the contract which is more than what the item was worth to begin with.

This company has been heartless and uncaring about their customers and endangering one of my reference's life to try and collect with making the statement "I will call whoever I want whenever and however I want or deem necessary". I would recommend to anyone looking to do business with rent a center to use your funds otherwise and buy your items somewhere worthy of your time and money and would appreciate your business. The reason I gave one stare is because there was no option for no stars or negative stars and I would not have even given one star, but had no choice in order to leave a review. Do not use this company for anything unless you're looking for grief, aggravation or heartache.

I have never been treated as badly as I was treated by Rent-A-Center. My whole story starts with having to wait 3 long hours for them to print out my contract to sign. It only took me 10 minutes to pick out what I wanted but they wanted to train someone new so they left that person alone with me for 3 hours while they learned on their own how to do their job?!? The manager was on the phone with her boyfriend or husband the whole time and even went as far as to say at one point during their conversation, "Oh that sucks. A couple just walked on that are looking at the couch you wanted."

I was patient and understanding during this entire process. When they arrived with my bedroom set of 6 pieces they had actually only brought the bed and mattress only and claimed they were told that is all I had picked out! I showed them my lease that says I have a 6 piece bedroom set and they shrugged and repeated their excuse to me again. They then decided to call their manager and have them straighten this out. The manager tried to tell me that they were right and I had to renegotiate a new contract???

I stood my ground and demanded my items. The manager wasn't happy with my stance and told her delivery boys to pack up my bed and return to the store. I didn't even get my bed delivered cause they screwed up then decided to screw me over again when I got upset. I had to call back and threaten their jobs and call corporate before they decided that I was right and they will honor the lease I signed with all 6 pieces and for the same price..

Well, a few days later pass.. I call and ask for 2 days extension on my first payment cause I just moved and I still had a phone bill and a car payment due this same week.. They initially told me cause I am an Uber driver with no real pay schedule like most people that the date it falls on isn't set it stone.. Well, just so you know it was set in stone.. So much so that apparently they claimed they could take my stuff if my first payment wasn't paid on time.. Then they went on today that if I don't sign up for auto pay that they will also take my stuff back which of course is a HUGE lie and bullying!

I'm a new customer barely a week in and I'm treated this way. I was never told sorry ever, not once by anyone. I was bullied several times and used to just so they could sweep their mistakes under the rug and also it seems like they like to make up rules and change what they say in a vain attempt to appear like they have all the control and you have to do what they say or else mentality and this psychological mind ** - B.S. has made me so angry. They have arrogant, simple-minded employees that they hire just cause they listen well and have no soul and the managers love that so they can do whatever they want without insubordination..

I recently needed an upgrade to my laptop due to my old one was just outdated and I couldn’t update it anymore. I chose RAC for a second time, the first left a very sour taste in my mouth. But I thought that since my circumstances were different and the payments were only going to be paid for a brief time and the it would be paid off early, no harm no foul, right? Wrong. First off it took me numerous times to get my autopay set up and the Area Manager was super helpful in assisting me with this. However shortly after this I had some fraudulent charges on my account and my card was turned off and I had to wait for a new one.

I called them to let them know what was going on and still I received phone calls asking when I would pay. Ok whatever, I get it, they were worried that I was getting behind. So I made my payment. Had the draft on my bank statement but I continue to get the calls. I tell them it’s paid. They needed proof. Well I work weird hours and my sleep schedule often prohibited me from making it into the store to show them. They then show up at my house! I explain what I had already explained at least 3 times to other employees. I was told by the one at my house that they went by my work and I don’t work there, haven’t worked there for months.

Well 1, I had only had the laptop for a little over a month and they call to verify employment before you can begin your contract, 2, my employer was helping me with the purchase since I did a lot of work from home. But she stood there on my porch and tried to tell me I didn’t work where I had clarified with her seconds before. I had my uniform on and was getting ready for work at the time. She didn’t apologize to me for lying about going to my work, well the correct one anyway. So in order to clear things up I make the payment again. Get caught up. I had a hard time switching my card on autopay to the new card number. COVID-19 had affected my employer’s business so yes the payment was totally late and it wasn’t paid until The next one was due. But BOTH payments were made all at once.

4-5 Hours after the payments were made they came knocking at my door saying to give them the laptop. I said the hell I will, it’s caught up. I had to provide the employees at my door with a receipt AND wait while they called the store manager to make sure I didn’t have to give it back. Ok they left, the very day my next payment is due I begin getting phone calls. I was actually under the impression that my employer had already paid it off. Even so that’s not what has me so upset. My payment was due on May 30, as I was experiencing some friction with my employer. I hadn’t had a chance to speak with him about payments and such. But on June 5 exactly one week past the payment at most. But on this day their employee used my contract and references from my FIRST contract and began calling them and telling them that I was 3 payments behind and they needed their laptop back.

That reference was my sister in law so it caused a bit of commotion that morning where everyone tried to know exactly what was the truth. The reason I am still so angry is because the contract that I was under only had my work references because it was strictly for work. I hadn’t put any family down on purpose because this purchase wasn’t for personal reasons and I had no interest in my family becoming involved if something went wrong. The RAC employee then tells my sister in law that I am 3 payments behind!!! It was only June 4 and. Payment was just made in the 15th of May and it was only due no weekly.

First off I know they can contact the references I have down but I am also fully aware that they can NOT reveal any personal information. They can simply ask them to get met to contact them. They revealed the exact date I began this contract and lied about when the payment was last made. All that was revealed to a reference from an old contract that had nothing to do with this new one. I addressed these issues and was told yes my sister in law was in this contract and I did owe 3 weeks worth of payments. And it was their job to collect it at any cost. The store manager actually had the nerve to tell us that people just don’t understand they are doing their job. No, no, no it is not their job to lie and make a situation look worse than it was because it was not their problem.

They called me a liar about not working at my job. I gave the laptop back and have contacted every newspaper in a 50 mile radius telling my story and have actually been contacted by one local TV channel to speak about the unscrupulous methods RAC does business. I was like most other people during this time and due to circumstances my payments were a little slower in coming but they received every penny that was owed for that payment. I didn’t make half payments and they didn’t give one care at all that COVID was making things a bit difficult. No they literally lied, manipulated and harassed me. The first time I had used RAC both my husband and I lost our jobs and I was just getting their merchandise ready to give back when they showed up at my house, threatened to call the police if I didn’t just hand it over. I was all I needed to do was finish getting my information off of it and was refused to be allowed to do so.

The store manager then looked at me and said if I would take care of my responsibilities then I wouldn’t have to be humiliated like this. I called the area manager and didn’t get a call back, I emailed and called RAC corporate and never even received a reply that time. So this time I can’t just sit back and not let people know what type of business they run and hopefully save someone else from making the mistake I did.

I went to rent band new things from the RAC in rocky mount NC on fairview rd 27801. I was already inform on how the RACs here in Rocky mount call and harass you. How they call uncontrollably about something you know you owe them. Not late but a friendly reminder I didn't ask for every time it becomes time to paid the bill. Although the prices and the product (online) looked awesome. I did my application online two days before I went into the store. The store workers could not find it. So they said, but yet called my phone number I had set up in on the very same application you said, "You couldn't find." So, not only am I dealing with people who try to belittle other people intelligence and will quickly lie to you. I were not pleased with the service I were getting from the start. It was very poor.

I later call back to tell them that, "Yes. You found my application because you called my cell phone." I was told to disregard the call. Then later had to redo my application all over again. So very unprofessional. But I'm doing business with RAC not their workers. After I completed the application It took me several days before I even got what I paid for. They wouldn't let me take my tv home nor did they have my game system. It was painful, mentally. I understand you have to ask some questions about a person life, but some things are not meant to be asked.

From the start of me applying for my TCL tv and switch. I didn't feel so conformable in even giving my money to them. Let alone my contact information or anyone else who knew me. I figured something was not going to be right. By the way I asked for my product to take home and they didn't want to give me it me. Other places do not mind you taking something that belongs to you. What made this place so special? You tell me... I was told my switch was not going to the store. It in fact were going to one of the workers homes. Wait, why is my product going there. You tell me. I couldn't go to the store that had it to get it. I was not allowed to at least get my television. Although, I could look at the store module. See how it works from the store module.

Now, I Own a SUV. So, indeed I have more than enough space to take my own product home. I was told they needed to bring it to my home so if anything go wrong they brought it. Well, damn... Excuse me... I wish Wal-mart, Target, K-mart etc. would do that. Now, to me; it became a hostage issue with something I paid for. How hard is it to load a box with a tv in it in my truck and drive home. Why do I have to or need you to bring anything to my home. Can't say you needed to know where it was going to be. I gave you my address. I didn't need for them to set up anything. I don't need you in my home. Its was a very Painful and unprofessional experience I every had over something I'm giving my money to.

I was told I were going to get my product when they first opened up 9 a.m. I told them I had to work that day. I had to be there at 1 p.m. They didn't bring it at the time I asked nor the time they said. I didn't get my product until the afternoon after 4. Really. Really. So, when they finally get to my home. I received the TV. It came with no box, he brought it in already together. There were no papers instructions about the TCL TV. The cable cord adapter on the back of the tv were broken. You can see where the paint is chipping on the stand. The Switch was pre-opened. It had a thin cell phone charger wire and cell phone adapter cube. It were missing the AUX cord. The controllers are slack and will not stay on connected when playing it in hand held mode. The box in which it sits on has a shortage in it. It has to be reconnected to a power source just so I can play it on the broken TCL TV I have.

My father just dead at the beginning of this week. I didn't tell/call them to tell them anything about my dad death. Frankly it's none of their business. So how did you know. Why are you calling my family at the time of us grieving. Why are you even calling in the first place. Behind a bill not even a week late. Harassment to the fullest. I thought the government put a hold on paying billing. Even though, I were still paying them. They went and harassed my love ones, to locate my where about. Like my parents. I'm away from town and get a phone call where they have called to now harass my mother. During this time you called to say you know about the death and call them before call the police.

Ok, I informing you all the that this is not the last step I'm taking about the over all experience I had with this place. I wanted everyone to know just what they're getting themselves into dealing with these people at this store. The harassment, threatening me and damaged product with the poor customer service is what I will be expressing my deepest concern. No one at this time in life with ever thing going on. Should deal with. I have the witness 5 that all saw how the Tv and switch came and the over tons of people who are willing to talk about how these people treat people. Trust me I will be calling the HR with your company and if need be I will be talking to my lawyer on Monday.

I think people are exaggerating on here. I've had nothing but good experiences with Rent A Center. They have even made it easier to make your payments with auto pay now. The people that are saying nothing but bad things have their own personal agenda or don't know how to pay their bills on time. Rent a center is very understanding and willing to help but you guys have to do your part in keeping in contact with them. Besides they still have a job to do. And they are essential because what if your appliance went out during this pandemic where are you going to go?

All in all you just gotta let them know what's going on so they can help you, I've witnessed it first hand. I've needed help plenty of times. And they are willing to help the people who want to keep and contact not the people who want to blow them off and take advantage of the pandemic. I'm sure most of the people complaining are still working. Just don't want to pay. Look at it this way if someone you knew personally owed you some money like a substantial amount are you going to let them blow you off? I don't think so, put yourself in their shoes. I'm sure they also have corporate breathing down their back trying not to go bankrupt. Prices are kind of high is the only bad thing I have to say about them but my store in Gladstone Missouri is great!

I live in Washington Pa and our Rent A Center that is located on West Chestnut St is the WORST rent a center ever. The manager talks to his customers like they are worthless. He has no compassion and he’s just rude. I rented a laptop and two cell phones and I didn’t know they rented me a laptop with no battery in it but yet they gave me a charger with it. I got home and realized that my laptop wouldn’t stay on because there was no battery and the only way it would work is if it was on the charger. I called rent a center and they said it would take a week for the battery to come in and that they would call me when it does, it NEVER came in I believe and they gave me runaround.

I called them today to see if they would give me an extension and I would pay them double on my paycheck because due to the coronavirus I was having it hard and he said, "No I’m not doing extensions and you gotta pay what you owe." He has no compassion as to what is going on because he isn’t the one who lost their job due to this. STEVE is the manager and he’s horrible. I am not the only one who thinks this. He needs to be fired. Now the other employee Mike, he treats me so nice and he’s so caring. He’s a great asset to that place. Remove Steve and have mike as the manager!! If I could get corporate's number to place my concerns I would call them.

I just recently moved into a new apartment and needed some furniture so I went on Rent-A-Center website and saw that they were running a special first week 1995. Well I found a love seat in the couch I happen to like. The payments would have came out to be like $80 a month so I went ahead and filled out the online contract. nobody even called me for two days then they call me to find out when my pay days were so they know where my rent was due and I told him to 10th and 25th. Well they told me they would deliver my furniture on the 21st which they did when they got here then for me that my rent will be due on the 25th since it's my payday.

Well mind you they brought the furniture on the 21st and my payment is due the 25th. If I recall right a week is 7 days not for so now every payment I make is late 'cause when you get paid on the 25th or 10th or whenever you have to have at least one day to cash it especially if you're working on that day or if the 25th falls on Sunday Rent-A-Center is not even open but they're going to charge you for that day of being late and on top of all that when they got here with my rental contract it was almost double what I had expected to pay. According to their ad on the internet it would have been $80 a month when everything was said and done I pay almost a hundred and fifty. That's not exactly a small difference but it's because they tack on all these fees that don't mention in their ad when they advertise a rental price.

And on the day they delivered my furniture the dude told me he had to wait for me to sign up for auto-pay before he could leave basically telling me that if I didn't sign up for auto-pay he couldn't rent me the furniture which rent-to-own has no policy about having to have auto-pay. It says you can sign up for it but you don't have to so basically this dude intimidated me to sign up for auto-pay so he can get some kind of bonusI find this to be so sad because at one time I used to rent from Rent-A-Center quite often I bought in a lot of stuff in them over the years but I would never buy another thing from them. This is the worst experience I've ever had and they are the biggest rip-off there is if you have to rent some rent from Aronson's I've rented from them before and yes they're expensive but they're honest when they advertise a rental price that's what you pay for it they don't slap a bunch of charges on and when they tell you a week they actually mean it you get the product for a week for the price they advertise it at.

The manager of Rent A Center Lisa, is very rude and mean. I am temp laid off due to the COVID-19 crisis and don't go back to work until April 21, my unemployment is behind due to everything happening in the world right now. I explained to her that I understand my payment is late but I never miss a payment, ever! She said, "Well mam, we need to schedule a pickup for your washer and dryer then!" "First off, I have made 21 payments, 1600, I am almost paid off, you are not taking the washer and dryer!"

I asked her how she would feel if she was laid off and I called her and wasn't understanding, she said, "Mam I pay my bills!" "WOW!! Well so do I!!! I told you I will make the payment of 96 dollars tonight." She giggled at me and I lost it. I admit, I flipped, I don't even know what came out of my mouth. I hung up on her! She has been blowing up my phone non stop leaving rude messages! I have contacted headquarters and am filing a complaint. I am so over them hounding me and having no compassion. If you're a day late, they show up at your house with their truck, bang on your doors, blow up your phone and call all your references. I guess that's what I get for renting with them.

Got a brand new double recliner, paid for six months up front, my next pay day was in December, got behind one week on payment, store employee called but I was out at the mall, my phone was low on batteries and the phone call got disconnected. The following day the employee called and we made an agreement to get all caught up on that Friday. After hanging up with employee, store manager called me and said the arrangement would not work due to I was rude and had hung up on another employee, I tried correcting her about her assumptions but she refused to listen, I asked to speak to a manager and she told me "I'm it, I'm the store manager for all stores in the Chesapeake area." I asked for her name and she stated "Charlie". I asked for her full name and she refused to give it to me.

She asked when I would be home to pick up furniture, I told her, "Not available until the weekend and I'm paying this Friday." "Charlie" stated, "No, Im not taking your payment, I'm scheduling a pick up." I reminded her that "this was my first time late and it was a WEEK late". On Friday I called and no one wanted to accept my payments, so I went online and paid for the whole month. The following day "Charlie" called and stated, "We can pick up the furniture today." I informed her, I had paid till the end of January, she went on to say, "I don't care, I'm calling for a pick up." At this time I was fed up with this woman and agreed to having the furniture picked up. That was January 4, I had paid till January 28. I got in contact with supervisor at headquarters, which told me "I couldn't get any refund and that I could use it as store credit on my next purchase." What makes this company think I would EVER deal with them again?! Rip off!!

At the beginning of my agreement around March of 2019 I had absolutely no issues at all! Loved the management team and everyone who worked there. If there was time where I would be late on a payment I could just let them know and they would make a note on the account and there would be no issue. Around November my store switched their whole management team. No big deal, until for some reason they decided to mess with my account. I switched jobs and the pay periods were off from my bi weekly schedule. I went into the store to have them switch my payments to bi weekly from a certain date. The girl was typing stuff on her computer and said everything was good to go. Little did I know she had not done anything to the account and my pay dates were still off and now I was recurring all these late fees.

I called the store and they said they now had fixed it. Fine. I go on my online account to pay and I see that I haves occurred late fees again and it wasn’t even my due date yet. It is now holiday season and I am management in retail in the mall. I’m working 13+ hours a day and am not allowed to have my phone on the sales floor. By the time I get off every day it’s well past 11pm and Rent-A-Center is closed. I’m 6 days “late” on my payment because I still haven’t had the time to call about all the late fees that shouldn’t be on my account. On the 6th day a guy by the name of Danny shows up at my house with a truck to pick up my furniture because I’m late on a payment. Mind you I have never had previous issues making payments.

Danny was extremely rude when he arrived and demanded that I pay him $52 now or he was entering my house and taking the furniture. I explain to him that they keep messing my account up and there were late fees on the account that shouldn’t have been there. He calls Deon and tells him that he (Danny) was looking on my account via the app and it states the account was due on the December 4th which was incorrect and that there needs to be a ticket opened on that. Deon still demands $52 saying that it will take me to the 28th of December which is when I said I would be able to pay the account. Danny stated that I should have answered my phone when he was calling. I explained to him that I work retail and it was the holiday season and I was working 13+ hours a day and am not allowed to be on my phone. I was not going to apologize for working and not answering a phone call.

Danny is still on the phone with Deon and Danny says “so if she pays the $52 now that will take her to the 28th correct?” And Deon says “correct”. Fine whatever. I pay 52 and ask him to leave my property. This happened on a Saturday. On Monday I get a call from rent-a-center on my way into work I answer because I’m confused on why they are calling me when the bill isn’t due until the 28th. Deon tells me that I am late on the payment because the $52 only took me to that day (Saturday). I told him since he misinformed me by lying because, he was on speakerphone when Danny asked if it would take me to the 28th and he said correct, that he would be paid on the 28th. He said that was not how this was going to work and I told him that it was 100% going to work like that. I am very upset and hung up with him.

I had my fiancé call the store to figure out what is going on because I was lied to. He asks to speak to the store manager and the SM says, "Okay since he misinformed you I will make the payment be due on the 28th." Awesome. The next day I get a call from Danny and he leaves a message saying that my account is past due. My fiancé again calls and says this is ridiculous as to him just speaking to the sm the precious day. There is 0 communication in that store.

The 28th comes and I go on my app to pay and guess what? There is reoccurring late fees that I am not paying because I am not late. I have had it with rent-a-center and their absolutely rude lying employees. I called them and told them to come pick their furniture up and I wanted nothing more to do with them. I am switching to Aaron’s. I also have a co worker who goes through the same rent-a-center and they are very unprofessional by calling the store phone by their personal phones. They call her and text her about her being late with their PERSONAL cell phone. So hell no I am not recommending this terrible place to anyone!!!!

So I gave a negative review of the store so tonight they called me upset about the review and want to know why I did that because it affects their money and their bonuses. So I said I’m coming in to pay my bill and the one lady Nicole wants to give me attitude so I said I would come back tomorrow and pay with someone else. Then she says have a nice day and I said I will and then some. If you are not concerned with me or my money. Then I will find someone else who is. Bad customer service.

In my line of work my guests are always right and even if there is a problem. My first thing to do is ask how can I make this right. Not give them attitude. If I can maybe I will pay online or so other way. Shame on the way I’m treated. If they don’t want my money someone else will. Last chance to rectify this problem before I move on.

Got that fix and weeks later the dryer started messing up and burned my family clothes. Again I had to call them again so my items can get fixed. Every time I called with an issue they never took full responsibility for their crappy equipment, they always blamed the customer for the equipment messing up.

After a couple of repair issues the service guy then told me if it happens again I’m responsible for paying for their repairs. Hello my lease wasn’t even up yet and they steady wanted to keep getting my money. Wanda has the worse attitude I have ever experienced and she talks to you on the phone like you’re stupid and you don’t know what you're talking about. Pat kept questioning me as to why my equipment kept messing up and what I was doing to them. Again you're not suppose to put the blame on your customers just so you can continue to make the company look good.

Here I am my lease is paid for and I still do not have my matching dryer. My lease has been paid for MONTHS AND MONTHS AGO and I’m still waiting. I called in. Wanda acts like I never had equipment there which is ** and she never returned my phone call so I guess I’m stuck now with a NON matching washer and dryer set at my home. I agree with many of the concerns posted here. Many are true. Yes they are doubling the price you pay off in 6 months for anything. Example the Nintendo Switch is $300 in any store. I needed two for this Xmas for my nephews whose dad is unemployed now and cannot afford two Nintendo Switches. Neither can I, can you? So instead of Santa letting the boys down and ruining their Xmas I went to Rent A Center and rented 2 Switches. Pay off on one is $600 and change, twice the amount from a Gamestop or Walmart's store who sell them for $265 to $299 each. But where else can you get what you need no credit check and yes you pay more for the item in the long run but it's either that or wait till you can afford that $900 living room set or even one Nintendo Switch. You probably won't get anything at all down the road because unless you're very well off and making pretty good money who can save $900 for a living room set hands down.

We pay high taxes in NYS here, fuel oil and gasoline prices are crazy, food prices, and don't get me started on Price Chopper they price gouge. And Rent a Center does offer you the option to return your rental anytime and pick up again on it when you can afford it paying only the remaining balance. I understand it is a rip off but it's an option to get what you need that you never save for and an unnecessary evil. But I know two kids that will be very happy this Xmas because they each have a Nintendo Switch from Santa thanks to Rent a Center. Maybe Santa will get me one. I feel the Automobile market is nuts. Personally I think you're nuts to pay $45.000 for an SUV or more for a PU truck. 2 yrs later you can never recoup that money either and your new car is now not worth the price you paid ever again. So don't knock rent to own businesses.

Absolute worst people I have EVER dealt with. Our bed broke and we aren’t really of the financial means to go and pay full price for a bed, so we contacted Rent a Center. From the get go, these people were awful. The bed I wanted was not in stock at the store in Orchard Park, NY that I wanted so I was advised they would have to get the bed from another store so they couldn’t deliver same day. No big deal, I was willing to wait for the bed I wanted. This was on a Saturday so I set up delivery for the following Saturday to ensure I was home to accept the delivery since I was told it would take 3-5 business days for them to get the bed. I was also told I would get a free week from the promotion they were running.

From this point on, NIGHTMARE. I paid $46 upfront when my weekly payment was only $25. Then they tried to make me pay for the week I didn’t have the bed. Sorry, but I wasn’t my fault you didn’t have the product in stock. But they claimed my free week was the week I had to wait for the bed. I’m sorry, but my “free” week can not be a week I don’t have the product. My weekly payment is due every Saturday and I make the payment every Thursday when I get my paycheck. I do this because otherwise I will start being hounded with phone calls from Thursday until I make the payment.

This past week my family was out of town at a hospital for an issue my son was having. I was stressed beyond max and forgot about the payment. I received 2 voicemails EVERY SINGLE DAY. I called the store and advised I would make the payment when I got home. I’m not even home for an hour when these people send someone knocking on my door to collect a payment of a whopping $25. These people are unbelievable over this little amount of money. I work in customer service and never would I ever treat my customers like this. I have spent more than a 1600 dollars with them and they want to keep harassing me and playing games. I am on a oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. We do not bring our wallets out. Just our ID and dive certs. I left a review last week that they deleted from their website. I am so sick and tired of this crap.

On top of that found out they charge almost double retail value on their stuff. I've never rent to own anything before and the only reason I did it this time was a time crunch to get a bigger couch for family that was coming in for Xmas. I've had enough. I'm going to the Better Business Bureau as well as the Consumer Affairs office and filing a lawsuit against them for my money back as I will be having them pick their ** up on Tues, when I return to San Diego since I will be flying into LAX and staying in LA till Tue. Would never go back nor recommend to anyone ever!!! Very unprofessional people who screwed up with me since the very beginning. They had my payments set for every week when I clearly told them in person I get paid every two weeks. We set up a date for delivery and I didn't see them all day that day. No calls or anything, FIRST TWO RED FLAGS! But I still gave them chance after chance because maybe I was just crazy. Hell no. Don't waste your money or your time.

I had a washer and dryer set from here, the dryer took 3 hours to dry the smallest load of clothes. They knew about this since the day they delivered to me. They will not refund me for a product I had that never worked when I got, it and I've had it for months. They claimed it might be the brand (Amana) and I went along with that ** knowing damn well that doesn't matter. They were supposed to bring me a new dryer, never did. So I decided I would no longer pay for a broken dryer because then they'll have no choice but to communicate. I'm completely right. They called me for a payment. I told them I'm not paying for this anymore while it's broken and to come get it. That's when they were like, "Do you want the new dryer." The new dryer that they were supposed to bring weeks ago and never did!! I'm mad asf and refuse to let this happen to anyone else. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!

However I told her clear as day that I needed mattresses as well she she said ok. So keep in mind I work 2 jobs and I am in school an I work two Jobs so my free time is limited. I went in an paid for my merchandise on 05/01/2019 I was told I would have next day delivery. Well the next day I left work early to be there an they didn't show up. So I call them they told me 04/05/2019 I would have it.

So I left work early again. It got to be around 5 pm. So I called corporate. Only after corporate called them did they bring out my merchandise. Other than the TV it was NOT what I ordered !!!! then they did not have a mattress. I asked them where it was then they told me it was not in my contract!! Then they LIED an said they would be back in an hour an never came so when I called the office the sales rep, tried to make it appear as if I told her I did not want a mattress. It wasn't that she clearly was not listening. As a customer service agent myself I know that active listening IS required skill.

now she is trying to say that they are going to have to redo my contract an I will have to pay 25.00$ extra for them to deliver it. NUMBER ONE I DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE FREE TIME TO SIT AT HOME AN WAIT WHEN THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF AT the first point of contact!!!! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with!!!!!

We called and told the store about it, an employee came out and took pictures and told us the manager would get back with us. We had to physically go to the store just to get an answer from them. Mind you this was 2 to 3 weeks later that we went to the store for answers. We were supposed to get a replacement stove but they never got half our replacement stove and now they just want to pick up their stove. Fine by me!!! They said and I quote "it's on your contract whether or not you were told". I told her that it's on the contract as "optional" and I DON'T AGREE TO OPTIONAL SERVICES. On the due date (yes the due date, not after) they start calling for their money by late morning if you didn’t get pay. If you don’t pay on that exact due date they come to your door! I was three days late for literally $12 and they came with their big truck beeping to back up to my door banged on my door for five minutes and finally left with a sign on my door handle that they came. Talk about embarrassing. I made every payment on time so one would think that would show them that I will be paying and they don’t need to come harass me for $12 darn dollars! Do yourself a favor... From the store in Searcy Arkansas all the way to the corporate department in Texas, they are all liars. I rented some furniture from the Searcy, Arkansas rent a center mid December 2018. First of all, they delivered the wrong tv and damaged 3 of my walls bringing the furniture in. Then when I got ready to make my first payment, out of nowhere the weekly price had doubled and all I was told is that I didn't read my contract correctly. Then I was told that some of the furniture was left off.

Of course, I read my contract correctly and it was the exact price that was agreed upon. If a mistake was made, how come no one informed me when it was caught??? I called corporate and eventually got to talk to the district manager who did nothing but spit one lie after another about what she would do. She stated she would make sure they rewrote the contract and give me the furniture for the price originally agreed upon. But mid January she stopped returning my calls. The store came under new management about the end of Jan. 2019 and the new manager did nothing but lie as well. I was constantly told that they would honor the original agreement but in the end, about mid February, I was told to either pay what they wanted me to pay or they could come and get the furniture.

Of course, I let them come and pick up the furniture mid February. You can't scam me into paying twice as much than what was originally quoted!! The best part of the whole ordeal was that they didn't tear up my walls when they came to pick up the furniture. This was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. I will never rent from them again and will discourage all of my friends and family from renting there. Incompetent or just plain scam artist... I'm not even sure which one they are but I'm just happy to be rid of them. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Most of all I am thankful for Sean. He goes above and beyond. He personally handles my account, as I have been a customer for about 5-6 years now and invested $43,000 to date. In that time as we all know life hits unexpected snags and Sean has been through everything with me from big situations like my parent's death, and sister's suicide, to little situations like just not getting my pay on time.

No matter what the situation he has always put his faith and trust in me that if I couldn't make a payment (which at times I couldn't pay for weeks) he trusted I would pay. He worked through every situation with me as long as I communicated with him what was going on. He always assures me we will get through this. He does not just treat you like a customer that never has problems. He makes you feel like family. He helps you want to stay a customer forever. If any place to get all the furniture needs this is it. Yeah I can try other places closer to home but working with Sean and being greeted so nicely by the store employees is definitely worth the extra distance. I must say if Sean ever left, I honestly don't know if I would want to stay though, as he is what makes you feel like more than a customer. The most I have ever seen in my lifetime of stores.

I recently rented a few items from Rent-A-Center and after a few months I started to get behind due to pay decrease this time of year right now. I drove in on Friday, December 15, 2018 and asked if I could pay for the washer and dryer since I had $200 on my card. I was told it is all or nothing for $310. I said, "I cannot do that much. Schedule the pickup and I will work on paying the debt off of $310 that month."

It became 6 pm Sunday night; everything sitting in my living room all day but no one called or showed up. I call them at 6:03 pm and they said they cannot do it, Monday now. No call, no nothing of a heads up, I stayed close to home that day and from 2-6 I made sure to be home and re-scheduled a few things. Monday comes by and I am back at work. I call them and get told they cannot pick up again, but, when can I pay the $190? I said “I was told Friday that it had to be $310 only is the minimum”. Then, I get told to stay on hold. Credit manager now on phone. He said I can pay the $190 now and keep it all or just the washer and dryer – I told him if he told me that Friday when I drove in to their store I would have paid the $190 and we would all be better off and caught up. But since I was told otherwise I paid another bill and the money gone.

Now they tell me another week I have to wait to have it picked up since they are too busy. This place has NO COMMUNICATION between customers or employees. Someone is always sick so they cannot help or something else happened. And when I come to explain my story for the month I get told all or nothing (yes going on 3 weeks due on a bi-weekly pay schedule for RAC). It is like a game there whether you call in or come in.

I am so frustrated and will NEVER go to RAC and will tell everyone and social media about my experience to help others from being in this trap. I really need a washer and dryer and that is why I drove it to communicate this and see what we could do to save it and use my $200 I had – but again, no - there was no option, probably because everyone out sick since she was the only one there and looked and sounded all stressed out on that 15th day in December of 2018.

What can RAC do to help this cluster of a mess? I know and took ownership of being the 3 weeks late now, but was ready and tried to work it out 3 days before. Now they cannot pick up and try to pressure me into keeping it all??? Where is the customer centric obsessiveness for customer service? It is like I am making their lives harder by walking into the store.

Rent-A-Center is a blessing for people who don’t have good credit or a large amount of money to put down. The downside is you are paying triple what the item is worth. With the paperwork that they give I was able to look up the serial number to see how much my tv was worth. It sells online brand new for $900 and they were charging me almost $3000 for the tv if I didn’t pay it off within 90 days, on top of that the tv I got from them was used. People who don’t have good credit don’t need to be further ripped off if they’re already in a bad situation to begin with. So thanks but NO thanks.

Don't ever purchase anything from Rent-A-Center on Hesters Crossing. My son got a used black leather living room set from them which smells really badly of cigarette smoke. They sent some guy to treat it twice, and both times, all he did was use something to mask the odor. Some guy name Jason has been giving us the runaround for the last 2 weeks. Every single time we call, we are told that he's out sick, had to leave for a manager's meeting, or had a family emergency. It's funny how once they get money from you, you no longer matter to them. I think I will just give them their stuff back, and advise any and everyone looking for furniture or whatever not to ever go them! They don't care about their customers, and everyone working there is fake, and a liar! I know Jason was there each and every time we called, but had everyone lying for him.

This place is a joke, and I will never deal with them again. Oh, don't forget, they will still take money out of your account even if the what you're are renting from them is defective, so buyer beware. Never give them your card number if you're smart. You'll be lied to saying they will compensate you by taking off a payment, but that's a lie and a lot of b.s.!!! Don't believe anything anyone tells you up there. There's also some other guys by the name of Phil and Mike who are just as bad as Jason. Bottom line, save your money and go somewhere where you will be treated like a customer; not like a problem. Never go to Rent-A-Center; you will live to regret it!!!

Then the piece I needed to use it didn't fit, so I had to wait for them to get it. Before I got that piece I paid the used machine off which was stupid on my part. Wayne knocked 50$ off the price since I was complaining so much about laundromat prices. Got that piece it still wouldn't work. The mechanism keeps popping off. I saw that it would fit my shower hose and I finally was able to use it and wish I hadn't. IT'S BROKEN!!! THEY SAID IT JUST CAME FROM THE SERVICING DEPT. It made green slimy chunks all over my clothes. It stunk up my house. The drain hose was full of slime that got all over the shower when I drained the water. It didn't spin. THIS IS THE SECOND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I've had at RAC. I'm done.

The last one was a computer I paid off on a Friday and it fried the following Monday. I'm done. I want my money back from this washer. I refuse to wait for them to take it back and have it forever to do nothing and get it back still broken like my computer. RAC used to be a good place to purchase belongings. NO MORE. I was a good customer. NOT ONCE DID THEY HAVE TO TRACK ME DOWN TO PAY. I've bought entire households full of furniture from y'all, Your Huntingdon store needs emptied and all new employees. The last time you did that at that same store you hired worse people though. I want my money back or I'm going to the CFPB.

The employer said that it was because of "taxes", but I didn’t the math and it didn’t match up. the employee couldn’t explain the difference. Whatever, I'll pay the extra. But when it was all said and done they didn’t have that TV either. So I finally find one I want and get it ordered and scheduled for delivery. We wait all day on the scheduled day and come 4pm they haven’t shown up. I call to confirm and they assure me the TV is on the way. This is coming from the manager. They brought me out a loaner till mine got fixed. Well 6 weeks went by. I called them and asked when I would get my dryer back. Person that answered phone said, "Once we get them back, what you get is what you keep." I stated, "No. I am not. I am paying for a Maytag heavy duty dryer out of the box. Never used but by me. You delivered a loaner Amana to use till mine is fixed." I asked for manager of store, he tells me October 1st that Thursday of that week he will have me my dryer (Maytag) back to me. I waited till 11/9/2018. Called them to pick up the dryer that.

I will never use Rent-A-Center again. I was advised by assistant manager he will have picked up today (Saturday) but he was going to have area supervisor call me. Area supervisor rd, "I'd apologized from bottom of heart." Stated he was sorry that all this happened to me as I am one of the best customer they have had. He would do whatever I wanted him to do to stay with them. I said, "Just pick up dryer." Well today Saturday I get a reminder of my payment due. I became upset at this point cause not one of these men listened to what I said.

I purchased another dryer from Home Depot today. I found my Maytag for 548.00 and then I see the Amana I have for 348.00. Now just so everyone know I paid half of my Maytag dryer for the 800.00 they charged me for them to give me a loaner that has been used by other customers. If I could rate them lower than a 1 I would. I made the payment even when the furniture didn't arrive because I wanted to be on time with everything. When I called them, they asked me for information I already gave. I also signed my agreement. Why are they asking me for additional info? Shouldn't that have been discussed before I signed. They never call me to update me and I have to reach out to them multiple times. When I reach out I am on hold for a long time! It's just a horrible experience going back and forth with them and still not have my order delivered after I paid what I needed to plus more!

They kept giving me runarounds saying their truck was not working or they did not have someone to deliver. She even told me she did not have drills to put it furniture together! Are you serious. She even asked me to help her put stuff together when she arrives. Too bad they never arrived! They are unorganized and unprofessional. At first I read reviews and I thought it could not be that bad, but please listen and take heed of the reviews. They are accurate. Order from Aaron's if you are doing rent to own! Two months ago, I became a customer of Rent-A-Center. Since that time, I have been reading the online reviews, and am astonished at the negative reviews that they are getting. There have been at least three times that my payment was due on Saturday, and I did not pay until Monday. Of course they called me on Saturday to remind me that my payment was due. I don't have any issue with that. Recently, I had an issue with my paycheck, and am almost a week late with my payment. I made arrangements to make my payment this Friday, along with the next week's payment as well. The person I talked to was very understanding and helpful. He didn't send guys around my house nor did they call my place of employment or go there to try and harass me.

I think that what some of you do not understand is that they are renting to people with horrible credit. I consider myself lucky to be able to get a living room set or an Xbox on credit. Am I paying double for the items? Absolutely but, had I made better financial decisions, I would not be in the position to need to rent from this place.

I truly believe if you keep in constant contact with them, and explain your situation that they do work with you. I mean once you are three days late with your payment, they charge you a late fee per item so, they end up getting more money out of you. I think they come and harass you or back the truck into your drive to get their items when you ignore their phone calls and requests for payment. It's just like a car payment. If you ignore the bank or the finance company, they will end up sending the repo man.

As far as people saying that have gotten broken items or things that don't work, why when you contacted them, did you not say that you want a not previously rented item? I think it's definitely a risk to get a used bed or couch. Not everyone is as clean as you may be. They could have had bed bugs or roaches. How would Rent-A-Center know if the person has bugs? That being said, I am renting a used tv because it was way cheaper in the long run to rent a previously rented item. I have had no issues with it. No way in hell I would rent a used bed for my kids.

I think before you blame the company for their collection tactics that you take a look at yourself and how you are to them. Do you avoid their phone calls? Do you hide when they come to your house? If so, it's time to return the items and get them back when you have the money. They have that thing where you can return an item if you can't make the payment, and get it back and continue paying where you left off.

His response "well you're gonna have to make a payment today" that leaded into an argument. He then told me I was lying about not being home. I told him that I have death in the family and had to leave with my parents. His response "I don't care anything about that. Either you make a payment or have somebody to meet us." We had a very bad storm here so I got behind on some of my bills... so the guy calls me and ask for my payment. I told him that I need more time to get caught up with everything because of the bad storm (which they knew about). He goes to say, "Well that'll be double payment next week and a late fee!!!" I asked if he could take the late fee off. Of course he say "no" so then of course they called me the next week asking for those two payments. I told him I still didn't have it.

I just needed a few more days (literally only needed 2 days). He placed his manager on the phone and he straight up told me "No" with no problem then he threatened to come pick it up... told me I had to make those two payments or else. They say they'll work with you but it's definitely a lie. THEY DON'T CARE!! I've heard bad things about these people but I like to see things for myself!! Never again. Then we had a family emergency so we didn't get our payment in on time. They called twice a day every day and filled our voicemails on both of our phones.

I tried to go into the app on that Thursday and pay the previous bill and there was an added payment due to the account. I called when we were back home to make the past due payment because you can't separate the payments online. He says to me "I'll be happy to take your payment that will be $44.98!" Our bill was $35.98 but for my convenience for him doing over the phone there's a $5.99 fee and another $3 fee for something else. I lost it and told him he was out of his mind and I was NOT paying an extra almost $10 for him to process my payment over the phone. Then I called and spoke to Eric who is I guess supposed to be the manager and he lies to me telling me he doesn't understand why they're calling since we're on the do not call list.

This is the kicker to his statement, it was Eric that called 8 out of 10 times! But he doesn't know why they're calling. So finally I told him we were done with them and we're bringing them back and he says "Oh no, we're not going to do that." I said "Yes we are because we're done being treated like crap by your staff!" He kept yelling over me when I was trying to tell him we were returning it so I said "Ok we're done. Goodbye". We returned them and will NEVER do business there again.

RAC is the worse to rent. They don't care about nothing but their payments, which I understand it's a business. They are horrible all around in all area. They brought me the wrong size headboard for my bed and when they did get the right size they bought it with bedbugs. I had no problems with my bed till I got the new/OLD headboard. My girls were getting bit up so bad I had to take them to the hospital till I finally figure what it was and where it was coming from. I SUGGEST YOU SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY IT ALL AT ONCE FROM ANOTHER SOURCE OR RENT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE. It's not worth it. Rent A Center sucks. Do not rent anything from RAC.

I filed complaints both here and with BBB (05/01/2018) which got the attention of Rent-A-Center Headquarters. Rent-A-Center headquarters has contacted me twice since the complaint was filed in order to rectify the situation. They have brought me a new TV, priced higher than the one I originally bought, and not charged me the difference. I am enjoying this new television and have no complaints whatsoever about it. I believe Rent-A-Center headquarters did rectify with professionalism, courtesy, and timeliness. They have promised me they will be working with the store to see this does not happen again. They will help you, you just have to "nudge" them.

    Original Review: May 1, 2018

Because I do not drive, I used Rent-A-Center which is a block away knowing I would pay double the normal price - $1,121 cash for a new 55" Samsung TV. They informed me there are no returns on cash purchases which is fine and delivered it that day. When it was delivered, it was out of the box, with a few scratches on it and would not work with any of the three remotes any of the three delivery men brought. They informed me to try purchasing a universal remote. They had tried to contact Samsung, who stated they would send me an email in order to send them a copy of my invoice, which never happened. I spent the next few days trying to contact Samsung myself, finally got the email, sent a copy of my receipt, just to find out (and notice) that the receipt only states "Miscellaneous Items" as sold. Samsung says that they cannot verify from the receipt that I purchased one of their televisions from this.

I purchased two universal remotes and neither worked with the TV. I believe, they gave me someone else's TV who could not pay their bill and was repossessed. I went to speak to them about exchanging for a different, working, TV, but they flatly stated, "No, there are no refunds or exchanges of any kind on cash purchases!" This does not seem right, they knew when they set it up, it was not working. I purchased a new TV, expected it to come into my home in a box. DO NOT USE RENT-A-CENTER!!!

This office lies and caught them on video and refused to do my agreement cause of the $3.17. They lied about not being able to verify my references after I recorded every reference saying they gave them my address and home number. WOW really. People I usually wouldn’t say this but wait until they have a sale. Get what you want for $3 a week then return it. Football game rent a big screen, then return it. Tell Alan Jennifer sent you right before you walk out. Thanksgiving and Christmas family coming over. Rent stuff then bring it back. It's all legal. That store is full of liars so find the loophole and use it.

Updated on 6/10/2018: With the recording in my hand I went back up there to confront Alan & Jennifer both for lying about not reaching my references. Anyway so the next day of course they wrote up my agreement and nothing was done to the 2 employees who lied just because of the special the store was running. And with proof in my hand that I get paid weekly they didn't even want to look at that, cause they wanted to put me on a monthly agreement cause of the price I would have to pay to get the item. But now they are calling after 2 months later and telling me to bring it up there. They will look at it now.

But anyway I'm writing because this Laurinburg store is so bad. If you have a payment 1 day late. I've been called by Phil with him saying "if I don't get a payment in from you today I'm gonna lose my job". I can't help but laugh cause dude really. 1 day late and your gonna lose your job. I will make the payment when I can cause I had to order a new debit card. Mine is so scratched up it wasn't working right. I ordered a whole new card with different numbers so I don't have that info yet. It will be 5-7 days and I will make the payment.

This was on a Thursday we had this talk. I said, "I should have my card Friday or Monday the latest, since I had already ordered it days ago." I was told, "Oh no. That is way too late. I can't do that." "Well okay, what are your choices, I'm not home so that means you're not getting in my house, plus if I was I'm not letting you in." Not when "I know the payment will be made Monday as soon as my new card arrives." So then I'm told, "Ok. I will go and start legal actions", go ahead you're gonna go to the court house, pay money to start legal actions, by the time you do all that on Monday (when I told you I'm making my payment) kind of a waste of time, huh. But knock yourself out.

This store is horrible. They lie about calls, say, "We have called you at this time and that time," when I have caller I.D and was home the times you are saying you called, then they love to say this, "I have it wrote down here." LIE. I don't care what you wrote down to look good, you never called. Bottom Line is this. They will call and say, "We need the payment now before the end of the day", I'm like or? Or what? Your store is gonna sink into a huge hole? They try to make sound like it is life or death if a payment's a couple days late just to pay more money. Wait until they file something at the courthouse, then make the payment. So I guess I pay money and you pay.

Here's the thing. I've had 3 agreements with these lying mf from another location, and paid all 3 off on time, several years ago. So if they call put them on speaker and hit record on your phone cause its funny. Plus if they come out to your house just record it. They don't like being recorded at all. But if they are in the wrong, you need proof of that.

I like to make my payments online, cause it doesn't go thru right then. The workers at this store just piss me off. They shouldn't be allowed to just lie to people like they do. Really they will get the payment when you give it to them, if its a couple days late. Not even that. Lets say you can't pay the payment that month. But can catch up next month 2 payments. But the time they go to the courthouse file paperwork, then you get a court date it has already been paid. So you go to court with a receipt and say, "It's caught up, here you go." If you had to do that, you could. If they actually worked with people, it would be better for them.

We rented to own a fridge when our old one was about to go out. We got it for less than $20 for the first month due to a special they were having, where we got 4 weeks free. Being a disabled veteran, with a disabled child as well, my income is limited. We actually got behind one month (before we signed up for autopay, which I highly recommend), and when it came time to pay, we were considering having them pick it up and just going and spending $300 on a new fridge and be done with it. It was less than $250 to get caught up. I told the guy at the desk what my thought process was, so instead of having us go elsewhere, he dropped late fees for one month, and added the one month we were behind, onto the end of our lease to own term. So we didn't end having to drop almost $250, right then.

We got to the end of our lease last month (1/2018), the amount was more than our normal monthly payment, and needed to be paid in the store. When my husband went up there, they let him pay part of it, and that left us with a balance of $65.81 to pay it off the next month (yesterday 2/2018). They give you this cute little certificate saying you are now the proud be owner of (insert property you rented to own). We had such a good experience with them, that we were considering renting to own a washer/dryer set, or mattress.

We live in a small trailer, they didn't carry any stackable washer/dryer sets. So we started looking at their mattresses, with the help of the salesman. He asked what kind of mattress firmness we were looking for, and showed us all our options. We picked the memory foam one because, my husband is often woke up by me moving around at night, and we both have back problems. It was only $5/week ($20/month) more expensive, than the softest spring mattress they had. The best part is it's only an 8 month lease, and since we paid off our fridge yesterday, we got our first month free (doesn't change the cost of the total for ownership). So we'll own it in September, if we pay it out, or the 90 day same as cash price is only $730+taxes and fees.

IDK that we'll be able to pay it off in 90 days but, they still have the early purchase option. You can purchase your item(s) for 50% of the remaining cost, plus the purchase payment, taxes and fees, at any time! Yes, you could get things cheaper, if you just put aside the money you'd be paying in rental fees, for a few months, but you have to wait till you have all the money, to have the item you want, doing it that way! Everyone I've dealt with at this Rent-A-Center (Leland, NC) has been absolutely the best!

I've rented to own a stackable washer/dryer set from Aaron's (Carolina Beach Rd in Wilmington NC) and getting behind once, there was no sympathy, courtesy, or professionalism. They were rude and there was just no reasoning with them! Didn't matter that I was going to pay two months plus, late fees, reinstatement fee, etc. I told them they had to wait to pick it up because, I wasn't home. They never showed up the day they said they would. They rescheduled when I called, after being so hell bent on getting their stuff back. I've rented to own from just about every company out there, in the past, and never had as good an experience as I did with this Rent-A-Center! It's also my first time paying anything off. They were always so professional, and courteous, I'll be buying stuff for years to come, from them. After the bed, a living room set will be next on my wish list!

I went to rent a center to see the pricing on dryers, while there we decided to buy one and make payments to extend the coverage. We filled out paperwork with all of our information (name, address, SSN, phone numbers, etc) the manager then entered it into their system. We were told our dryer would be delivered between 12 and 2 the next day, well 12 came then 1 then 2 and we were still waiting and no one had contacted us. We called and they said they would check with their delivery guy and call back, an hour later we called again and the manager said he was around the corner.

Keep in mind this is 2 hours late and we have been waiting all day! He gets to our place 30 minutes later and drops it in our driveway! So we remove our old one and install the new one. Well it doesn't work! So we call the manager again and she answers with "Oh you guys again." I was furious at this point. I told her it doesn't work and we had to move and connect it and she says "ok so?" I informed her the dryer didn't work and she said "fine" and sent the delivery guy back to our house, which took another hour. He told us the clothes have to be wet to make the dryer work (completely incorrect) but we tried it anyways. It still didn't work. So he said he would take that one back and replace it with another one that night. Well he never came back the manager used the excuse that he was not the regular delivery boy.

We finally get a functioning dryer and get it set up. 2 months later we forgot to call and make a payment (just slipped our minds) and my aunt in law calls saying that the manager has called her asking for money! Then my best friend calls me and says the same thing! I could not believe it, I called the manager and asked why this was happening. She said that this never happened. I told her my best friend and aunt in law have never met the only reason they would both be saying this is if it happened and they were the 2 people I listed as references! She continued to deny it until I said we had a recording since they called my aunt in law 3 times and even left a message.

So I asked them to check our phone numbers on the account, well she somehow didn't even put our numbers on the account! They were some random numbers neither of us knew! And we had stood in front of her and written our information down! I was so appalled at this point I asked for her name and said I was calling corporate. The manager then said "go ahead they won't do anything." I called and she was right they did nothing!

After another phone call with this 'Manager' and she called me a child on speaker with a car full of people. She is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across. I even went in the store to sort this all out and just pay the dryer off to be done with her and she continued to call after! I filed a complaint but doubt anything will be done. Do not go here the manager is horrible. I heard her yelling at another customer when I was in there trying to sort this mess she made out. The savings they offer is not worth being harassed, charged fees for their mistakes, having family members called for money, being called a child, or being yelled at by their 'management'.

The initial delivery was a week late, I started being billed from the point I signed the contract, not the delivery date. The refrigerator that was delivered was lightly dented and scuffed up. The stove was missing the oven racks and they were never delivered. I paid the company almost $1200 for a dinette set worth no more than $600, with still another $1000 to go when the set was returned. And, while I did fall behind ONE PAYMENT, the company hounded, harangued, and berated me as if I owed some exorbitant amount, not $65. In short, your price to own are ridiculous, unless it is removed from the packaging directly, you can't be sure that you're getting new equipment. And the billing should start upon delivery, not before.

Your Return Team came tearing down my alley like I was a fugitive to cut me off. I can only assume that they thought I was fleeing the scene of my defaulted $65 payment, and wanted to ensure the safety of the general public. As I was emptying my trash, I had two burly men jump out of a vehicle to confront me and question my whereabouts and insist upon coming into my home. Went and rented a (65 inch) tv on 11/24/2017. Requested that it be in a box which it was. Put item in my wife's van for transport. Got it home and took it out of box and placed it on my bed to get it set for viewing. Then placed it in location for viewing, got it all hooked up, turned it on and noticed a big crack from the corner of the back LCD panel all the way down the screen so I put it back in the box. Then the next day took it back to RAC and took it inside and the mngr took it in the office, took it out of the box, checked it, then came out to the front register and said the crack looked like an impact hit. Pretty much saying I dropped it or I hit it with my fist. He then said they would have to send it off for service in KC.

So I waited a week, called them back and was told it was unfixable and they were out 800.00 dollars. Told me I would have to pay it. Told him he was nuts. I was renting this tv. I didn't own it. Then ask him if I was getting the 49.95 amount of money back on the tv. He said no that I lost the money. So this place seems to be crooked 'cause you get a tv for 800.00 and rent it to some sucker for 3614.09. Seems ridiculous to me. They're so greedy. As of Saturday the tv is still on my account. Was told can't be removed until the end of this month because it was on the Black Friday promotion. I would like my money back if possible. Some of us work hard for their money. But I'm sure not going to pay for something I never ever watched. Wish some agency could make them accountable for misleading people on the pricing and the products.

I am renting a dryer currently and like it but when I pay it off I would request that Rent-A-Center take my name off of the mailing list and lose my phone number 'cause I don't want no more of your overpriced crap. In the day people were professional and did business to please customer but this place is only worried about money don't get behind or have an emergency cause they don't care they will be coming to pick up your items. This establishment is a joke roping people off. I have lost count of how many tv's I have rented from them cause they all had something wrong with them. No quality products just used stuff that has been returned to them then rented to people then rerenting to people who don't know any better cause they can't afford to buy the item outright. They think we're all suckers. Well Rent-A-Center we're not. At least I'm not going to be.

So it started with a corporate RAC and then shortly after changed to a "locally owned and operated" RAC. I never signed any new contracts, never gave them any problems until my couch broke 3 times in the same year. RAC says it looks like people have been jumping up and down on them. They used ply board to fix it first of all and told me he wouldn't fix them again.

I am paying a damage waiver fee. This repair is obviously a manufacture problem because 4 adults are not going to jump up and down on the couch. And a 25 lb 2 year old shouldnt be able to break a $2500 couch. I only went through RAC for the insurance purposes. Then my strapped down TV fell and broke (mention RAC has seen the set up and said nothing).

I called to report it and was told they only are responsible for manufacture defects. Okay? Well why do I pay a "Damage Waiver Fee"? So if it gets stolen? That's it? I even told him if they had it fixed I would be more than happy to pay for it and he said no that I had to continue paying for a broken TV and couch. (mention the 55in TV was well over $1000).

If I would have known RAC was so bad I would have just paid $300 in Walmart for a TV and got a couch that was worth it. The story continues to harassment. My SO and I share a phone as well as my cousin when he has my son. I work 50+ hours a week. I am not available during their work hours. They called my job and was asking for money. So the other day they caught me at my house and I told them they can take it. I dont care.

So the driver gets ahold of her boss and is being very ugly and unprofessional, with a disgusted look on her face. My other cousin went to go get the TV. It took a minute and she's asking several times again rude and ugly, "Are you going to get the TV" after we already told her. After that she goes to get in the RAC vehicle and is mumbling something under her breath, my cousin asked her what she said and she called him a "redneck piece of **".

My cousin replies with, "I'm proud to be a redneck". As I dont know what she said after that I was looking for the remote to the TV in my living room (they were outside) then I heard my cousin say, "No, you’re not welcome here, get!" and told her if she didnt go she would have the police called. She replied with, "Go ahead call them" and left the property without the couch but with the TV. YES the couch was outside. We moved it outside when I told them to come get them the first time. Regardless their opinion of us is irrelevant and none of that should have happened. They should have done their job and left. Not stand there and be rude and unprofessional.

I was once a customer of Rent-A-Center. A paying customer, who bragged about the personal service received... Until the day that they claimed I hadn't paid my rent. I'd paid over the phone, and my trust was such that I didn't get a confirmation number. BIG MISTAKE, BOYS AND GIRLS. Lesson One - Always, without fail, obtain and keep safe all receipts and confirmation numbers, and ensure any agreement modifications are IN WRITING. They began threatening me, and I stopped that by driving the thirty miles up to the store to pull up my debit card history that confirmed that they'd received their payment on time. I got no apology whatsoever for this. As time went on, my payments seemed to vary based upon the associate who took the payment. The general manager, a man reminiscent of Steve from the Jerry Springer show, was the only one I could trust to give me the proper amount.

Life happened, and I got behind. I called and spoke to the same general manager who professed a desire to work with me. Refer back to Lesson #1, section 2, about getting things in writing, because I didn't. For a short time, they did abide by our verbal agreement. I'll give them that. Then the salesperson who originally wrote our contract got promoted. This salesperson had expressed an interest in gaming, and as a result he had my cell number. As soon as he was promoted, he began using this knowledge to harass me about payment despite the agreement we had. LESSON TWO: The staff are not your friends. Ever. So don't give them additional information that they can later use to harass you further.

This gentleman (a euphemism I'll use for now; other words would be censored and unprofessional) began to insult my spouse and myself, threatening to personally throw us in jail for being deadbeats and all around horrible people... For being two weeks behind. Jail. For two weeks. Here's where we are probably in the wrong: we told him that if he came onto the property he'd be arrested for trespassing, and if he wanted the items he was welcome to take us to LESSON THREE: They can't throw you in jail. They can't call the cops and have them arrest you, or force you to give them their items back. Police are not debt collectors. They CAN, if corporate allows it, attempt to file criminal charges for theft of rental property, but corporate doesn't approve filing in the majority of cases.

They CAN take you to small claims court seeking a writ of replevin, which entitles them to bring a deputy out with the court order to search the area you habitually reside in for the property on the court order. They did take us to court, and we didn't make the hearing because I was laid up with a severe migraine that day. They called the afternoon of the court date asking us to schedule a pickup. I welcomed them to come with a deputy and a court order, informed them that the call was being recorded, and they hung up. The days went by. I kept expecting them to come out with a deputy. They never did. The day before Thanksgiving of 2016 came, and my spouse and I were at the local grocery store. As we walked in, the same employee who'd started this harassment stalked up to us and started yelling about how he was going to throw us in jail, that we didn't ever pay a dime, and over and over about us being criminals.

I was proud of myself - I told him only to get away from me before I felt forced to call the police for stalking and harassment. My spouse and I walked past him and he FOLLOWED us through the produce section, yelling his fool head off. I got an employee to get the store manager. The RAC employee was gone by the time the grocery store manager came, but he said he'd heard enough and that he'd throw the RAC employee out if he saw him. When we got home, I looked up the court case. RAC had won a default judgment for $100, not the replevin they'd tried to convince me they had.

They were planning to double dip. LESSON FOUR: Check your state laws regarding your rights in small claims courts concerning RTO transactions. Most states only allow recoupment of fair market value, not the hyperinflation that these companies charge. I AM NOT ADVOCATING NOT PAYING YOUR BILLS. One should meet obligations. That goes for companies, too. Don't let yourself get screwed over. Don't let them threaten you.

My girlfriend and I walked into Rent-A-Center in Jacksonville on Henderson Dr. for a laptop. I filled out the paperwork while my girlfriend looked for the computer. She found the one she wanted so we proceeded on talkin' to Rob. I got a call on my phone and while I was on the phone I noticed Rob drilling my girlfriend with questions, it pissed me off but I let it go at that moment. We left to get the electric bill and returned. As we carried on I made a call because one of my references did not pick up, as I told him what I was trying to purchase a laptop and I hear Rob drilling my girl again... This time I fire off like, why is it every time I get on the phone you're asking her questions? He responds, "I don’t know her and never seen her in my life." I say, "well don’t ask her ask me, I’m the one leasing not her."

He tells her she needs to call another store for an previous purchase that’s not related to my purchase. So she calls and at that moment Rob is still trying to ask her questions while she’s on the phone with the other store, so I basically tell Rob to shut TF up talkin' to my girl. At that point he refuses our business. I ask to see the manager Billy. I explained what happened with Rob, and Billy told me that my girlfriend had rented from another store and skipped out... HERE’S THE CATCH MY GIRLFRIEND'S NAME WASN'T ON ANY PAPERWORK IN THAT BUILDING. So how or why would they say that?

I'm a disabled veteran, 100%, I have fallen behind on my payments. I'm trying to catch up, the manager calls and threatens to have me arrested. I pay every 2 weeks, she calls every single week, payment not due for another week but still she harasses me for payment. I just paid her a few days before, well it has been 2 weeks and 2 days, so yes I'm late but I've been in hospital and can't pay yet. There is no talking to her. First you cannot get a word in as she is rude and threatening but also honestly her accent is so thick I cannot understand anything in my machine except have me arrested. If I had the means I would get furniture elsewhere but I just l lost everything. Having to move because the place we rented before was overtaken with roaches that we paid to try to exterminate as the owners really didn't care about anything but rent, wouldn't fix anything, only got worse as house next door that was abandoned was torn down.

I always catch up on late payment, been late a few times, I'm trying and tell her I will pay next week, but she just tells me I'm going to jail. Don't know what to do. Tired of it but needed to have a bed and couch as I can barely move so I'm at a loss. The threats of arrest scares me. I have never been in any trouble in my life. I felt admit I'm behind on my payment, but when she calls every single week and I pay every 2 weeks, I'm not behind, even then she threatens me, I and my family have saved every single recording... Although she talks so fast and with thick accent, you can clearly make out the that's at the end and sadly that's about all you can make it. I plan on paying as soon as my husband gets paid, also according to my receipts the amount she now claims I owe from my last payment don't add up, suddenly I owe more than I did a month ago? This makes no sense.

Threatening people instead of listening is a sad way to do business. She says she doesn't care if I'm in the hospital, doesn't care that because of me being there for many weeks my husband lost his job so he could stay be my side. When is it okay to treat customers the way we are treated? That survey you ask me to fill out, will I recommend rent a center to family and friends... NO NEVER IN MILLION YEARS WOULD I WANT ANYONE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH, it was bad enough losing everything, now the constant threats... It's too much, just too much!!!

He was very polite, gave me his name and asked for mine. What I loved the most Shane asked me what I was looking for and asked my budget which I thought was awesome. I was at 3 other stores earlier that day including Aaron's and they were very pushy and the way I was greeted by Shane was awesome and had a great smile, dressed very well. He was very knowledgeable and showed me what I was looking for and price. He explained that the items at their store have a worry free guarantee and after we talked he asked if the computer would be the best fit for my needs. I did the process to do rental of it.

The one thing I did see he did call and talk with my boss and my landlord right there and my mom in Wyoming even know I brought proof of my job and where I lived. I asked why, Shane explained that to finish the process before I could leave with it he had to make sure all was verified in case needed updated numbers he could get in touch with. After all was ready to go we sat down talked about extra benefits and coverages of the items they offered which was awesome. He explained the payments and went over my paydays made payment went thru paperwork and left happy.

But when I got home it was close to 730 and I could not get my computer online. I called and explained I just bought it. Asked for Shane, he said the store just closed but was almost finished up and asked when would be ok to stop by and get it going. I asked if tonight would be ok on his way home to get it going. He stopped by and got it working. Showed me how to hooked it up correctly for future use. He left me his card and said if there was anything else I needed the store would be opening tomorrow at 10am. I would recommend Rent-A-Center to anyone needing computers...

RAC Acceptance NOW is an organization that is extremely crooked and to put it honestly they are thieves. What are the laws that protect stupid customers, such as myself? We purchased a washer and dryer set and a television from our local furniture store with a RAC Acceptance NOW company inside. We have continued to pay on the items thinking we would pay it off early. Well here we are 2.5 years later and 3900.00 paid. We have requested that we be paid off as we have now paid 3 times what the merchandise is worth, 3 times what it would cost if we were to walk in to a store and pay for the exact same items brand new today. We have priced the exact washer and dryer set and television, actually a better one, and the price would be $1200.00 to 1300.00, give or take sales tax. What can we do? We feel like we have paid our dues to this company who is unwilling to help us.

The washer and dryer now do not work like they did when we first purchased them, as a matter of fact the washer has caused rips and tears in some of our towels. The television's picture quality comes and goes as well. All the company has said is they can send the television out to see if it needs repairs, leaving us without one and they also said they could possibly send someone out to check on the washer and dryer. All we want to know is, is there a cap on Rent-A-Center items and is there a 'reasonable' cost for such items? Paying 5,000 dollars is ridiculous and we understand that but do we have an argument? Thank you.

Folks, please read and review all of this review prior to using "Rent-A-Center" better known as "Rip-Off-Center". "Rent-A-Center" is all nice and welcoming at first but become late paying them you will regret you ever entered a business relationship with them. Last year I suffered 2 surgeries and it cost me a significant amount of money even after my health insurance policies paid their share. When I came from the hospital and the rehab centers I had to take a long absence from work (3 months) as I was unable to go back to my office to work. My company informed me take as long as you need and return to work when you are all better and I was relieved to hear that.

During the time I was hospitalized my bills got behind and my credit took a big hit and I did have a very good credit score before I became sick. But after not paying my monthly bills on time for months my credit score got so low I could not buy a bicycle or a postage stamp on time so there was no way I could finance anything on time. I really wanted to get a new computer and a new 4K HDTV however I did not have the resources to purchase them. I had a family gathering at my house as many relatives, friends and family came over to see me and see how I was doing.

During conversation one of my friends had mentioned he was in the same type of situation before and he found out how he could purchase items like TV's, furniture and all types of monthly items on time and it did not matter how good or bad your credit was. I said to him, "Are you serious? Where may I ask did you do this?" He replied, "Rent-A-Center" as they are the best and all I had to do was fill out an application, show my driver’s license, make the first monthly payment on what I wanted to buy and provide 3 verifiable references with phone numbers and addresses and I had all my stuff in a few days". It sounded really good and this was for sure something for me in my current situation, however I should have never listened to what I call him now, "A Walking-Talking Rectum" as he was so full of crap... that his eyes were brown.

I went online to "Rent-A-Center" and everything he said checked out and I completed the application and I was approved for a new computer, new 65 inch 4K HDTV and the TV stand to go with it for $186.99 a month for 18 months and after I pay everything for the full 18 months everything I own. A few hours later someone from "Rent-A-Center" called me and asked me what time can I come down to the store to complete everything and I told him tomorrow afternoon. He said fine and we will see you then. I went down the next day and signed and completed everything and 2 days later they delivered and set up everything for me and they seemed like really nice people to do business with and I was glad. For the first 6 months I paid my monthly payments on time without any problems or issues however the next month I forgot and overlooked the monthly payment to them and I simply forgot and did not realize I was late on the payment.

One night about 6:00 pm I hear someone banging on my front door so loud I thought someone was hitting it with a baseball bat and I opened the door and there is the 400 pound guy standing there with a clipboard and his "Rent-A-Center" shirt on and I asked, "What do you want and who might you be and if you did any damage to my door you will paying for it you got it...?" He says to me, "I am from Rent-A-Center and you are late on your monthly payment and I am here to take all your items back". I replied, "I am sorry however I forgot to make the payment and don't you people believe in making a phone call to the customer first to inform them that their monthly payment is overdue...?" He replied, "Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't, however I need to take back all your items immediately".

I replied, "Well I got news for you as you are not taking anything back and if you do not leave and get off my property you are going to be very sorry...!" He replied, "You need to give me all your items now or I will have to come into your house and take them all myself". I replied, "You go right ahead and attempt that as I want you to do that...!" He replied, "No problem as after I leave here I am going to contact law enforcement and file charges against you". I replied, "Go right ahead and I will wait for them to arrive" and he replied, "Sure thing and have a good night and as well go ** yourself...".

I immediately called the store and demanded to speak to the manager and he came on and I explained the situation and he said, "Yes our guy was there to pick up all your items as you are late on your monthly payment and if you do not surrender the items we will file charges against you". I was so angry, mad and upset I told him, "You know what have someone come out tomorrow afternoon and take all your items back as I would never do any type of business with you or your lousy outfit ever again...".

The next day some other guy came and I told him at the door, "Listen and listen up good you got 5 minutes to take your items out of my house and get off my property and not a second more...!". He knew I was serious and within 5 minutes he took everything and got in his van and was going down the street. I called the store and asked for the manager and when I got him on the phone I said, "You got all your items back and your ** will suck wind for the rest of the payments on all those items and if you or anyone else from your company every comes here again or on my property I will call law enforcement and press charges of trespassing on my private property...! And I hung up.

The next day I contacted my State Attorney General’s office and I filed multiple complaints against "Rip-Off-Center" and I am waiting to hear back from them on it. As I stated from the beginning of this review DO NOT USE OR CONDUCT ANY BUSINESS WITH "Rent-A-Center" as if your monthly payment gets behind they will try to "** you 6 ways from Sunday" any way they can. To add here I know a few other people who have rented from another lousy outfit called "Aaron's" and they are no better than "Rent-A-Center" as all they told me was nightmare stories as well. Best of luck to all of you out there...!

So, here's a complaint on the Rent-A-Center in Fruitland, MD. I'm usually not one to complain (my husband and I have been renting a couch set from this Rent-A-Center for months, no issue), but the experience we had today was pretty awful. First of all, Rent-A-Center was supposed to be dropping off a TV stand for us between 12 pm- 2 pm. They called at 2 pm to say that they would be late. Okay, that's fine. So, I put my dog in his kennel (he doesn't like strangers in the house until he gets to "greet" them, but I didn't want him to get in their way while they tried to deliver our TV stand). My dog is a very vocal dog, but wouldn't hurt a fly. He barks, but doesn't growl. He doesn't like to be kenneled when people come over, but the only fix for that is letting him greet the people coming in- which again, I didn't want him to get in their way, so I kenneled him to avoid all of that.

Fast forward to when Rent-A-Center (finally) showed up. Store Associate Ronald was the one helping me fill sign my papers. He continuously asked, "Is your dog put up?" I responded that yes, he was put up. He was secure, in his kennel, and all he could do was bark. Then, Ronald seemed to think it was okay for him and his associate to repeatedly state that he "sounds vicious." Excuse me, but in what world is it okay to say such a thing in your customer's presence? My dog is NOT vicious. He was barking because he wanted to come out and be in their way while they delivered the TV stand. That's how my dog is. He wants to be in the middle of everything.

Then, Ronald seemed to think it was appropriate to ask me if my apartment was cheap to rent. What kind of question is that? Had he and his co-worker not called my dog "vicious," I may have been able to look past that fact. But the entire ordeal was unprofessional. To top it all off, the TV stand (which is used- again, totally fine- I knew that beforehand) was incredibly dirty on the bottom shelf. It looked like some kind of wax had melted over it. Again, it's used- I don't expect perfection. But maybe wipe your used items down before delivering them? All in all, horrible experience.

I have been dealing with these folks for nearly two years and have mostly been pretty flawless. As of May 2017, I experienced an unexpected career change. This messed up my payment schedule for a couple of weeks and, honestly, money was tight. My mother and I agreed to go half in on some furniture that was needed for our living room. My mom stopped giving me money and made my situation worse. But, I still managed to make payments. I fell behind by a week and agreed to pay on SATURDAY because those are my due dates. I told the man (Jay) on the phone I would be in on Saturday - even had him read the info back to me. I hung up thinking it had been squared away.

Friday rolls around and I get four calls (no voicemails) from an unknown number - something I brought to the manager's attention with no resolution. (Don't call me from an unknown number and expect a response. You won't get it.) I called them, realizing this may have been them and I'm accused of making another late payment. I politely explained I would be in on Saturday as scheduled. Store manager says, "Nope, you're due today." I explained AGAIN that my payments are always due Saturday. He shoots back with, "Well, then you're seven days late. Six days late is better for us." Miss me with that, I don't really care what's better for YOU, considering I'm the one who had to make the arrangement.

He eventually gave in and moved the date to Saturday like it should have been all along, but he proceeds to grill me on my pay schedule (which was explained to him three times.) I understand they want their money, but the fact I've been a loyal customer almost two years apparently has no impact on them. This is my first time EVER being late and I honor my commitments.

I rented a 49 inch TV from RAC. First... They didn't deliver it in the day they said they would, called me 4 days later to reschedule. Then I get the TV, and miss one day and they're calling and threatening to take the TV AFTER ONE DAY. So I make my payment. Next month rolls around. THE DAY of my payment they tell me if I don't immediately pay over the phone they're coming to get it. I find out they charged my card TWO times, which I went ahead and said okay, it'll keep me paid up. So all of a sudden they start calling me again, I told them to come pick the TV up. When they were here trying to get the TV, they would stay for about an hour just yelling and banging on the door.

The Rent A Center on Glenwood in Raleigh NC has to be the worst yet. I never will go back there nor refer anyone to them. Have been a loyal customer for some time now. Even went back... But after today I will never ever go to them again. This was my first time being late. Was going to pay this payment as well as late fee as well as the next payment to keep me on track because I'm almost done paying my furniture off. When I explained to them my situation they had no remorse.

Mind you I have been a very loyal customer for some time now. They gave me no option other than picking the furniture up until a payment was made. So I then told them to keep it because you can clearly see no matter how long you been a customer with them or if you made every payment on time... They don't Care about anything... But that's water under the bridge now. I know to go to Aarons the next time I want to rent anything or just buy it right then and there because this all was very uncalled for and my money nor business will never be a Rent A Center again. Do NOT GO THERE. MANAGER NAME IS LEO.

So I seen their advertisement for the Samsung phone. I thought it was decent and I needed a phone so win-win (so I thought). I had the phone for a few months. When I turned my phone back on one day the phone wouldn't let me in. And this wasn't a forgotten password on my end either. So I figure it's a Samsung phone, I'll call the manufacturer, they'll walk me through resetting it. So I do that. Samsung workers tell me that they don't make that phone; say they have never heard of it. Now why would Rent-A-Center be selling knockoff smartphones with the Samsung brand on it and think no one would know? Another thing, it's funny how they have no problem taking your hard earned dollars but when it's their fault they think a store credit will do justice. Not cool.

I went to Rent-A-Center in Dublin, GA on April 28, 2017 and paid $40 down for a queen bed set with the rails and they promise to have it delivered to me on April 29, 2017 between 1-3 p.m. So 3:15 p.m. came they hadn't showed up yet so I called them and the man name Tony answered the phone and said they where in Ridgewood trailer park. They will be to my home by 4:15 p.m. I said okay. Next, 4:15 p.m came still no show. I called them again and Tray answered the phone and told me that he had to go and find some boats from Home Depot and they will be to my home by 5:15 p.m, which they close at 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. So final 5:15 p.m. comes Rent-A-Center still hadn't showed up. I called them one final time and they tell me they have to find the truck they will be to my home by 5:40 p.m. So 5:40 p.m. comes still no Rent-A-Center has showed up.

I called them one more time and they tell me they are loading up the truck now and are on their way to our house so 6:00 comes, 7:00 comes no Rent-A-Center so I get in my car and drive to Rent-A-Center on Veterans Blvd. and the ** are closed. I would recommend no one no dealing with Rent-A-Centers especially in Dublin, GA. Yes I am pissed off bad because no one gets my money and don't give me what I have paid for. It doesn't work that way. I am going to call them Monday morning May 1, 2017 and tell them they have 3 choices. Bring me my damn bed, give me my money back, or I will take a civil action out on them. The people at this Rent-A-Center is full of **. If I hadn't made a payment they would have been to my house.

This was the 2nd time I had deal with them. I paid for a air condition from them, but I had a tablet from them in the past and only missed 1 payment of $20 and I told them I would bring them the money by 6 p.m. and they was to my house within the next 15 mins and I gave them the tablet back because you don't run me down for $20 little damn dollars and when I need services you put me off. So I went to Walmart in Dublin, GA and buy me a 7 inch tablet for $63 cash and it works better than Rent-A-Center's did. Stay away from RENT-A-CENTER IN DUBLIN, GEORGIA. THEY ARE CROOKS! TAKE MY THOUGHTS. IF YOU GO TO THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT!

I first started shopping at Rent-A-Center in August 2016. From that time I got items that I needed for my apartment. Well first a tv. I had a great experience, but then I started getting stuff for my apartment that we actually needed like a bedroom set and a couch so we can have people over. Well my paydays were every other week, which started adding up to a lot. They told me that they can bundle things where you will be paying longer, but it will be in a comfortable price range. So it dropped from 576 to 320 every 2 weeks.

Well recent I went in there and there was a new manager, very rude by the way, didn't care, about anything just likes taking your money. He's met me before from the other manager, and was nice before but this time very disrespectful. He told me that the other manager will no longer be working here and I have to pay the 576. I looked at him and told him "y'all fitted a plan that will work with me and now you don't want to work with me." Then he said the person working on my account was a sketchy person and I told him that "if that was going on behind the scenes then y'all should of been watching. You don't take it out on the customers."

Well I had them pick up our bedroom set and living room set and then 3 days ago I told them I didn't want the tv because I should be pay 240 for a tv and a PS4 every 2 weeks when I still owe 2500 on the tv and 788 on the PS4. I'm frustrated, because the way they treated me and on top of that said it was my fault. The customer is always right and if you've never worked with me before don't blame me because I've always paid my stuff on time. So they never came to get the tv like they said. It's been 2 days now and if something happens to it it's their fault not mine cause they still haven't came for it.

I got a washing machine from a Rent A Center in Amarillo TX. The first one I got I had to send it back several times cause it stopped working. After the 3rd or 4th time sending it back I decided to switch it out thinking I just got a bad washer. So the new washer is not working after the 3rd or 4th time sending it in. I'm getting really frustrated that I'm paying all this money on washing machines that do not work correctly. They never tell me what's wrong with it. They just bring it back. It works for a few weeks and it's out again... On a good note the employees at this Rent A Center are awesome and very friendly.

After hurricane Mathew hit and I lost all my furnishings my funds were limited to refurnish my new apartment. I scanned the yard sale post for items and was pleased to see Rent A Center selling 32 inch T.V.'s for 100 cash. The manager Chad had 4 up for sell and when I arrived was pleased to get one. That was Dec 12th. I have receipt. Worked great for a month and a half and woke up one day to find huge white line going up middle of T.V. so I call store only to be told. "I don't know what to tell you and I can't do anything for you" so I had to swallow the loss of $100 after the loss of my belongings?? Really sucks this guys allowed to do side deals pocket money and screw you when it's worthless. So upset. That was our only T.V. I'm retired, disabled and on a tight budget. I've used Rent A Center many times back in the day, now they're just ripping people off with repoed stuff and pocketing cash. Shame on them.
