I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to Rent-A-Center. They are so very fraudulent is crazy weather one in Cincinnati Ohio On Colrain Ave. is 45239. I’m in court with them right now and still have to go to another court to Su Real for forging my signature on some paperwork that I never even seen before And they lie all the time up. Bound group is the mother of Rent-A-Center. I wouldn’t advise it do not mess with them. I went to court today and now still got a fail in another court for this other stuff. I have audio video and everything of them contradicting itself even to the internal general. The paperwork you signed it’s not the paperwork that they sent out to their insurance people or whoever they sent it to and you asked for a copy of your rental agreement. They won’t produce it. They say they sent it off. They don’t have it at the store because they switch your paperwork up. That’s why, but I’ll keep you posted.
I’m not done yet like I said I’m going to the court too. I’m going down tomorrow to file on that too for bound group Inc. the mother of Rent-A-Center and their lawyer is a joke. He called my phone last month. Tried to settle for $2000 and said that he wasn’t their attorney but negotiating but yet still he showed up in court today as the attorney for Sybil. I’m going down there tomorrow at the judge know that that’s the same man who called my phone and said that he was not representing them and I have him on tape. I’ll keep you posted.

If you want good friends, here they are. This Rent-a-Center has gone over and beyond any expectations every Rent a Center should be taught by them and I've dealt with several; none of them compare to them.

The extra Rent-A-Center insurance is a rip off. It’s a scam. Most insurance covered everything. Insurance cover things. Is not gonna happen. If you got rental insurance is way better than Rent-A-Center insurance. If something happened to your product on your end it’s not like Apple or any other company like that that has insurance to cover everything. It covers things. Does not happen to too many people so it’s not worth having.

I have been a customer of the Olney Philadelphia Pennsylvania store for 3 years now and I have had such a great experience with dealing with Kiara the store manager. She has been very helpful and makes me a repeat customer. I would recommend using her store. Definitely 5 star!!!

No stars should be an option. Wouldn’t recommend Thomasville location. Their website will give you your approval amount but they don’t go by that. What’s it there for if they are going to pick and choose what they want and don’t want to rent to someone. We had a washer and dryer set, Lee picked it up August 20th and told us he had another set at the store he could bring that was a little cheaper and still have yet to see it. Currently September 22nd. Story keeps changing. Not sure of the other lady or man’s name but when you call the store they are extremely rude and if they say they will call you back or she will get Lee to call back because he stepped out, don’t count on it. No one that works there is ever on the same page with each other, they’re all going to give you a different story because they don’t know how to communicate with each other undoubtedly.
If you have furniture/items from a different company they will also judge you and not let you rent anything from them. Reason I say that is September 22nd they were supposed to deliver a washer and dryer set between 1-3 pm, we were told that Saturday September 20th when we made the first payment. Today comes and I call Rent A Center and the lady answers and said that Lee stopped by and he knocked but no one came to the door. My husband calls Lee and Lee says that he never stopped by the house, he sat at a corner and watched another company that we have items from knock and no one came to the door. That’s understandable, I have 5 little kids 6 and under if I’m in the back of the house I’m not gonna hear the door. Until he kept talking.
Lee proceeds to talk with the other company and the other company proceeds to tell him they can’t disclose private information about customers. They undoubtedly didn’t like that answer so they proceed to call the other companies credit department and question them about our account with them, again they tell them they can’t disclose private information about a customer.
My husband then calls Lee and Lee tells my husband to call the store and talk with Melanie to arrange a time to pick it up from the store because he’s no longer in town and on the way to a conference. So I proceed to call the store, Melanie was no longer there, she had left for the day. So I talk to someone else, I didn’t catch his name. I tell him that my husband has talked to Lee and Lee told us to call and arrange with Melanie a time to pick it up from the store and asked if I could pick it up Wednesday since my husband would be off that day. And he says we came by today and knocked but no one answered, I say well my husband talked to Lee and Lee said y’all didn’t stop y’all sat at a corner and watched another company knock and no one come to the door.
Then the whole story changes. He starts asking about the other company and asks do we have furniture/items from them and says that we can’t get anything from them until we take care of that and show them proof of it when they don’t even know the reason they were here because the other company didn’t disclose anything. I ask him then why couldn’t they tell us this Saturday the 20th when we made a payment to get the washer and dryer, now we have to wait on a refund from them. I tell him everyone we talk to that works there has a different story and it’s like ya’ll don’t communicate with each other.
He proceeds to say well what I’m telling you right now is the actual story. But if you fall behind on a payment and they have to come to your house they’ll beat on your door like the police, ring the door bell if you have one consistently back to back and call your phone repeatedly all while being out front. But they want to preach that they understand things come up and they’ll work with anyone no matter what to get back on track. My advice would be to take your business elsewhere.

Rent-A-Center. I’ve been a customer for over 20 yrs and have never been so disappointed in any business in my life. Your manager Lexi at Rent-A-Center is a bold faced liar and actually called her employee the liar when confronted about her lying… She is definitely not management material and should be fired. She absolutely is not people friendly and unwilling to see any side except hers… This is extremely unacceptable and you have now lost a long time customer. The washer and dryer I was sold is JUNK!!!! And for the price I was paying is ridiculous. It will be sitting in my driveway for 2 weeks because I was REFUSED A REFUND FOR MY UNUSED PAYMENT. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS NOT THE WAY YOU HANDLE LONG TIME CUSTOMERS!!!!

I've paid $3400 for a laptop that I can buy in the store for $600, and they're STILL trying to run my card. They call me 5x a day, come by my house everyday leaving door hangers "Ooops looks like we've missed you". This company should be thoroughly investigated for bad & deceptive business practices along with harassment. I warn every consumer, this company sells cheap products at extremely inflated prices. I'm interested in filing a C.A.L.

So I went into the Rent A Center trying to get a new console. Me and my father went into there. We were talking to the lady at the front counter. One of the workers had their kid there running around. There was trash all over the floor. When we were talking to the employee at the front counter she tells us to stop talking but not in a respectful tone.

Washer and dryer not good and the washer had trash in it. This was my first set which I had for 1 months. The second set I just got the dryer which I picked out but they don't install the hose. You have to do that and the legs aren't on it. The dryer is setting on the floor and it's loud. It's been two days and my clothes are still wet. I sent picture of the back of the dryer because you can't connect the hose because the part that comes from the dryer is too short. The workers say nothing to you as to what to do. They just do what they want and leave without any questions. I have never been so disappointed.
Yes they work well for people in life situations but you don't treat people just any kind of way, I'm still paying my hard earned money out. It's been days well 3 now I have a dryer in my home that I can't get any peace with. And they will say that it's against their rules to connect the hose to the dryer but that's what they are suppose to do. No one mentioned that to me when I rented the first set. This second dryer needed an extension to come out of the dryer just to put the dryer clamp on for the hose the workers don't say anything. Very disappointed. This experience has been like being in a abusive relationship and you want the person out of your life.

I write this review for the management and staff at the Williamston, N.C. location. At this store the management and staff greet you at the door and make you feel good about spending your money with them. You have to hurry up and pay your bill and go because, they'll get you to buy something else. They're always professional and polite and try develop a good relationship with the customer. Overall, my experiences with them have been good and I know where to go when I need of an appliance moving forward.

I rent a generator from Lemoore CA RAC. Last week I paid my monthly payment and it broke the next day. I took it it to be fixed and they won't fix it, return it or give my last payment back. They told me they had no one to work on it and didn't have a loaner. The next day I was told a repair man had looked at it and it couldn't be fixed, but in the same conversation asked if I knew of anybody they could pay to come look at it. Now they are refusing to fix it, or replace it and keeping the payment I just made to them. They are ignoring their guarantee on their products. Plus getting rent for something I no longer have. They are rude and most of them don't know what they are doing. I would not ever rent from here again and I suggest you don't either.

I went to rent a center looking for a couch and love seat and the price is $1364.45 to own and while looking elsewhere that same couch and love seat is $588.99 huge difference and the queen size bed is also cheaper and clean, I rather buy my furniture and bed set new than used for a high price. I understand why business is slow at Rent A Center.

I’m writing this review to share a very disappointing and frustrating experience I had with Rent-A-Center (Woodbridge, Va.), specifically with their manager. As a professional TV technician, I received five big-screen televisions from RAC for repair. I performed diagnostic evaluations on all five units and provided detailed estimates as agreed upon. The diagnostic fee, previously communicated, was $35 per unit, totaling $175.
Unfortunately, they declined the repair estimates, which, I fully respect, is entirely within their rights. However, since then, they have refused to pay the diagnostic fees and have not returned to pick up their televisions. The last phone conversation we had was extremely unprofessional. Rather than working toward a solution, the conversation escalated into a heated argument. She (the manager) was disrespectful and dismissive, showing no intention of resolving the matter.
As a small business owner, I find it unacceptable to be treated this way — ignored, disrespected, and left with unpaid work and unclaimed equipment in my shop. In other words, she never had the intention to repair those TV sets. She planned to trash her property in my property and save money on paying for recycling electronics. Regardless of multiple attempts (30 times) to contact them, my calls have been ignored. The manager has now gone so far as to block my number entirely, preventing any further communication.
I’m sharing this review to warn other small business owners and technicians: proceed with extreme caution when doing business with RAC. She (the manager) just dug deeper into the bad reputation of Rent a Center. In my experience, they have shown a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic respect for the time and services of others.

I will never rent for Rent-A-Center again. There is a scam. They are hoax. They charge you more money than what everything‘s worth and if you miss payments, they wanna act like it’s the worst thing in the world. I literally have rented multiple things with them a TV PlayStation Couches everything paid off. Tablets paid off and I miss one 23 payments and now they want a red flag me and refuse to service me or do anything. The manager at the store manager at the Madison location refused service with me after I even returned a washer and dryer to them that wasn’t theirs.
Do a Semi because the apartment I moved into already had a washer and dryer, but I still get messages emails from them saying you’re approved for this. You’re approved for that. But they still red flag me. Rent-A-Center is nothing but a scam. Don’t rent from them anywhere in Tennessee or anywhere in where they are. They will charge you more money than what you pay for. You can go to Walmart or Target or any other electronic store and get it at a cheaper price because they’re gonna charge you double what it’s actually worth and like I said if you miss payments, they wanna block you totally for even rent from them.

The worse rent center ever. They take your money and don’t give you call back to keep you update about furniture. They deliver my couch and it came broken the ottoman and they still haven’t replace it. I will never rent from Rent-A-Center ever ever. I will be closing my account. This place suck. I been a loyal customer but and the furniture are not good especially for the price I am paying for. I purchased bedroom set 5 piece bed frame and the dresser already changing color. Do not shop at the Rent-A-Center on Pendleton Pike. Their customer service representatives are rude especially the women. There’s an ** woman who works there that is a straight coward. When my husband spoke to her and was calling her out on her bs, she kept throwing me into the conversation blaming me for everything. Unprofessional behavior and rude. I will be turning in this TV as soon as I can.

Got online to rent a portable air conditioner from Rent-A-Center. They did not tell us that it was not in the store. They did not tell us that it would take 3 to 4 weeks and they also did not tell us that it's not even guaranteed for us to get the portable AC when it says online that $25 can rent it for your first week. I paid the $25 come to find out if they were lying. The $25 only reserves it for you. It does not guarantee that you will get it. That's another thing that they do not tell you until you try to pick it up or wait for a delivery. They do not try to help with the problem. They'll take your money then tell you wait 5 to 10 business days to get a refund. The Lawton store is so trash. The customer service is trash. The store itself is trashy and all the appliances and furniture is trashy. Do not rent from Rent-A-Center. They are frauds!!!!

My wife had rented something from Rent A Center on Irvin Cobb Dr. in Paducah, ky and they had a bad situation. We moved out of that house and now our then minor daughter at the time now lives there. She’s trying to get her life started and the head manager at rent a center called other rental places and told them not to rent to my daughter; who has done nothing wrong. That manager needs to be fired and no one should rent him anything.

One man told me if I came up with $63 and some change that I would be okay with my payment, the next day another gentleman called me and told me, "No, I'm not going to let you have your contract anymore." Mind you, I've never been late, and paid almost $800 into two systems. These guys are a rip off and I'll never ever go through them ever again!! And they are very rude! One gentleman says one thing while the other says another, you can't go and do that! I should of listened to people when they told me to never go through you guys because you're trouble and a rip off, here soon you will be going out of business because of ripping people off and how rude your business manners are and you can't keep your word.

I did business with the Rent-A-Center in BIG STONE GAP VA for years. That QUICKLY came to a screeching stop when I had some $ issues, job and health life. There were times when I have gotten behind but I always caught up a communicated via text so I would have a record of it but like most job markets they were going through employees like a revolving door. I do not mind for someone to call and leave a message asking for me to call them and file money however when a business calls entails friends or family members that you owe money, your ex far behind, they're going to do XYZ to you it's unprofessional I'm called for, not to mention privacy violations and other lines that they lines that they crossed.
I did leave a negative review on their website after this happening several times. I also contacted their corporate office who never contacted me back because their district manager was told one story and never spoke with the customer to see what the real deal is and again last week and today I had family in store where they continue to put out information about an alleged account. So as a loyal customer for years I'm a pulled by this behavior. As far as the merchandise it has been reliable but with any rental company the price is you're going to pay so if you have the option to use Lowe's or credit card so you can pay it off I would choose that.

I paid for a freezer at the Rent-A-Center located at 1380 S. Providence Center Drive Utah for delivery in the morning of 4/9/25. At 11.30 I called the store and was told that the driver would pick it up at 1.30 PM and it would arrive at my home by 2.30. At 2.30 I was told it was 20 minutes out. Again at 3.52, 4.00, 5.09, 5.29. Turns out it never left the store. As all my food for our trip was defrosting we had no choice but to go to Walmart and buy a freezer. This is not convenient since we are on vacation and now have to ship it home.

Everything was fine until I had to switch stores due to the hurricane. The girl Taylor helped me when I first purchased my couch, she was great. The movers made a mark on the couch when it was getting moved in, no biggie, said they’d get it fixed up, well after weeks to begin with of waiting to get a call back from this new manager Brandon I finally did, I asked him what we were going to do and explain the whole situation with the marks that happened on the couch getting moved in.
I was on the phone with this man for 45 minutes. Well we finally came to an agreement and he said that he would let me pay 300 to my couch and it would pay it off to him and we’d call it even well. I told him I would not have the money until taxes and he said that’s fine. Just keep making payments. Well I call when I got my taxes ready to pay the 300 and he has no idea what I was talking about and is blankly lying, telling me that he never said that. I called corporate and I’m still waiting on a phone call two weeks later. This is ridiculous. I will NEVER USE RENT A CENTER AGAIN.

Please don't rent from here, I made a mistake not knowing month is stress, the manager Charles is rude. He will lie to your face then change what he told you to cover himself, I have autopay and they always have an issue with their system and I end up paying because they can’t put my payment right… Well Charles will send employees to family houses and will tell private information …. I call to speak to a district manager. Nobody is there. Never. It's just horrible! Have multiple employees call me from different numbers laughing bullying me! I can’t wait to return the computer to deal with them anymore.

Rent a Center has been banging on my door for two weeks every day because of my roommate's nonpayment. As someone that works nights and has PTSD this affects me negatively. The manager was unwilling to help me by coming at a later time in the day. It’s so unprofessional as a business to be banging on someone’s door every single freaking day. This isn’t even my bill they are coming about, it’s my roommates.

I see that the company overall has a low rating. I want to start by saying that almost all of the local to your area RAC stores are franchised. I would like to speak specifically about store number 01660 in Ionia, Mi. From the Amazing Store Manager Beth, The First Assistant Jeremy, the Sales team and the delivery guys Lars and Marcus, all of my interactions have been awesome. When the TV I was renting had some minor issues Beth personally CSM to Deliver another TV and make sure it worked before they left my apartment. No one at this store is above making their customers happy which is a rare treat these days.
A competitor I rented from sold me a “Gaming Computer” that barely played Microsoft solitaire and told me not to put the games I play on it as it couldn’t handle it. When they had to refresh Windows on because it ran out of space and was trash so for those who think they charge too much keep in mind most of us are rebuilding our credit.
When I needed a queen bed Jeremy the assistant manager came with delivery guy Marcus and personally set up my bed! On the couple of times I needed an emergency flex on my payment the employees worked either me to get back on track and always go above my expectations. All of the employees are topnotch. All employees were hand picked by Beth for their experience and excellent customer service skills. I have bought multiple products here and honestly I needed to furnish my apartment I would recommend this store to anyone in the area.

Hopefully this will help them to improve and make different choices on training or so!!! If I could get RAC no stars or negative feedback I would have done. Terrible issues in the website as try to make payments glitch on the website but it gets pretty soon fix if I complain about it as I call them. Then the representative yells at me and hangs up on me on top of the process. That is unfairness plus last payment my son called and pay them, ten minutes later call from them to collect payment already been process. Seems like lack of coordination and communication and if was only technical issues. They could at least acknowledged and apologize for these issues but they frustrated on you and give this horrible energy and tones yelling to you????
I’m planning in pay early and NEVER NEVER EVER get another lease with them. Awful service this lease. I used this before to pay as cash. Never happened this horrific experience till now. Lesson learn. RAC is no longer in my list of favorites. They just lost a returning customer that has made completion on her lease three and six months average. If that was not enough to be treated as good client I see that would be great win to take my business somewhere else if I could needed in the future.

My husband and I had agreed on a time for them to come retrieve furniture today, they ended up showing up to the house three hours earlier than planned. We let them know it was too early. They called us harassing us about returning it and threatened to get the police involved to come get the furniture out of our house. A female manager who is on the clock today, 1/18/25 at around 12pm, was then put on the phone and proceeded to cuss my husband out. This was at the 5241 Walzem Rd Windcrest, TX 78218 Rent-A-Center location. She didn't give us her name, trust me it would've been in this review if I had it.

My daughter rents from Rent A Center in West Memphis. AR. She makes her payments on time however she might be a littler late. She calls and tells them when she can make her payment. Then the employees call her dad wants him to tell her. Talks very ugle. Next she called her mother - which they don't have my phone number. I don't know how they got my number. Everyday they do this - in which they know when she is going to pay. They have called another girl and ask about my daughter's account and then they call my daughter and ask her about the other girl's account. This is not right to talk with people about other accounts or call and harass her parents.

When they set a time they should stick to it. We all do have lives to live and things to do then wait around for service when they should have been at your location at a certain time. I hope that other customers have a better experience.

I previously purchased a large sectional sofa with the intention of paying it off 6 months same as cash, which put me way ahead on my payments. I then determined that I was moving and would not be able to accommodate such a large sofa. When I returned the sofa Rent-A-Center told me I had an $850 credit due to having paid so far ahead, which I was assured I could use toward purchasing a smaller sofa to accommodate my new apartment. When I attempted to have the credit applied to a new sofa, I was told that I could only use a portion (about $300) toward the new purchase. In other words, I'm just out the $850 unless I make multiple purchases of their overpriced merchandise.
Everything they sell is overpriced to begin with. For comparison, the same sofa off the Ashley website is $699.99 (cash price) compared to Rent-A-Center $1,172.07 (same as cash price). They completely take advantage of people who cannot otherwise purchase furniture outright. I will NEVER buy from them again and would urge anyone else not to either. I have no receipt to provide, as I did not complete the purchase of the new sofa.

The Rent a center store in Laurens SC is a joke. They came by my house today for a payment and we told them that no one contacted us prior to them showing up. Told the driver I get paid Wed or possibly Tuesday with the holiday. The person that the driver spoke with said no had to make 69.00 payment today. The store manager never had had attitude about it before. So told them to just take the merchandise and have a Great day. I will never do business with them again period.

Today being 12/21/2024, I received a call from the Saratoga NY Rent a Center. I have 2 items on my account currently. My Bf pays one. I pay the other. For over 8 or 9 years I've used this store. I've paid numerous items off. My payment is one day late. My Bf's was 6. I was asking that my bf pay his portion today, and for a extension for my payment until the 30th because of the holiday. Mind you, I have 4 biological children and 2 adopted children that I am providing Christmas for. NICK got on the phone, and proceeded to tell me he can't take partial payment (my bf's) and he can't allow me to bring my portion up to date on the 30th.
I'm on a biweekly payment...he wouldn't accept my bf's payment or give me a monthly option for this month. He then proceeded to threaten me that he would come take all of it today...before Christmas. Shaking me down like a wannabe loan shark. To the point telling me I have no standing with the store because it was my ex-husband's money that paid for the previous items I purchased. Referencing that it didn't count because I'm divorced now!! I have never, in my life spoken to a customer service associate that 1. Spoke to anyone like that, and 2. Stabbed their customers with personal information regarding their lives!! It's disgusting. And I don't ever recommend dealing with these people if this is how they conduct business and talk to their loyal customers.

He works with his customers to satisfy them the way a manager is supposed to. He does not judge his customers at all. ** is empathetic and shows empathy to his customers. He listens to your situation and assist you in making the right choices. ** talks to his customers and not at them. He understands. If I could give him a thousand likes I would. He goes above and beyond. Don’t take ** for granted because I personally knows he’s about sincere customers.

Hello, I wouldn’t recommend Rent-A-Center to anybody. They’re actually stealing from me right now that you owe me $500 they won’t pay me in cash, but the store manager at the RENT A CENTER I’m dealing with in Loveland Colorado says that I’m behind on my payments. Well, I’ve been currently the past four months and yet she’s saying that she cannot give me my $500 from the previous agreement until we start a new agreement, but she will not let me start a new agreement at all so technically they’re stealing $500 from me and this store manager's name is Bianca. The whole store in Loveland, Colorado do not go to because they will lie to you.
They harass you and then when it’s your turn, they actually get something from them. They don’t do anything about it. I called the hotline for service three different times. No one called back. I called back and they can’t find even the reference number that they gave me so I would not recommend RENT A CENTER to anybody and hopefully the store shuts down.

My experience could’ve been better if it was not because of that ** girl in that store in Norristown PA. I am a customer Service representative as well, but I’ve never heard of such thing “filing report for thief felony” for the last two payments. If an item is paid, formal language is “it will be reported to collection agency”. Never report it as “thief felony”. When I called to submit that final payment, I only heard her voice I got rattled. No matter the situation. Customer representative need to carry a positive attitude.

I bought a washer and dryer from them and have maintained the insurance. When I bought the washer and dryer the delivery men put a huge dent in the dryer. I have had it for seven months. I have requested for seven months for it to get fixed. They always tell me the manager will call back, he hasn’t. Still paying for insurance but not sure why if they won’t even fix what THEY broke.

The Guy that answered the phone at 10:26 AM at the Dover NJ warehouse needs to be fired. He was very unprofessional. When he was hanging up the phone he said, "Have a great night." WTH Bruh it's MORNING. I tried to pay a portion of my payment and he said he didn't know how to do it. He couldn't just go in to the account, type in what I wanted to pay, ask for the card number, CVV, and hit accept. That is it. Jennifer and Brian you guys need to let him go and you guys at least one of you need to be there 6 days a week. This experience was Terrible. Absolutely nuts. I was at a four way stop. It was my turn. I was hauling a trailer. Their box truck driver has no patience. As I was turning slow to make sure my trailer was on track their driver turned and drove on the opposing traffic lane and almost got hit by oncoming traffic. If this is how their delivery system is I'd hate to see how their staff is at their location in Kalispell.

I was accused of giving an attitude over the phone when I was speaking normally to the management. I had not checked my account all morning and thought I only had 20 left, but turns out I had $10 short of the amount owed. One of the employees was catching an attitude with me and the manager took the phone and I told them I had a stressful morning w/ trying to get in touch with my landlord. They were taking an attitude and tone with me and I was just questioning and just asking what is with the attitude. This is the last time I will be renting from the locations nearest me and will be going to Aaron's or another rental place nearby. I can not stand for this.

I have a washer and dryer set, through La Junta Colorado. First the washer wasn't working, I called and they set up appointment. I had to cancel, they said, "We will reschedule and call back." Never heard back for weeks so I fixed it myself. Now the dryer caught fire, dude at store didn't seemed surprised at the least. He said, "Oh yeah the block catches fire. It almost burnt down my house." He says, "We will get you a replacement, I'll call you back to set up delivery." It's been over a week and haven't heard a word from them. But if you are a day late on your payment they will be calling you and threatening to take it back if you didn't pay. DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

A RAC - rep confirmed over the phone my approval... I got a text message earlier today saying that the sofa has been delivered to the store and that it will be here in my living room by 3 pm today. I just got off the phone with them and they are asking for further information to determine my eligibility... such as 1. proof of income 2. request to speak to my landlord. 3. a 2nd 54.00 dollar fee... order placed over 1 month ago.

They then looked up our public record and saw I had recently been cited for a traffic violation and said “it would be in our best interest if police were not involved”. I’m getting a lawyer.

I was okay with Rent A Center until the 6th week of having their product. I pay auto pay and have paid on time if not later on in the day via internet payment when my merchandise was due payment. Today my auto payment did not go through so as soon as I woke up I paid it online. Within 15 of me paying, there was someone at my door saying I did not pay. How dare someone come to my door the same day that my payment is due and didn't give a customer until end of business day to pay their bill.
The manager was not accommodating at all when it came to at least pushing back one week of payment as a compromise for the inconvenience of someone basically showing up to my door before 12 in the afternoon that same day. I asked if they could confirm a pickup time for the product on the 25 of July because I will not do business with a company that treats their customers this way, especially when I have always paid on time. I don't need that headache and will go with another company as the equipment for work purposes.

This is specifically for the W Tropicana Ave in Las Vegas. Don't even bother trying to talk to them because they will just talk on top of you. I have asked to go on a monthly system and was still refused to go on it even though I was caught up. Whenever I spoke to someone, they would just speak over me. They should not be allowed to be in business to be honest. If I knew they would harass my family and me every single time they don't get a payment after a day (maybe less), then it was bad of me to choose to place. WARNING. DO NOT COME HERE! You want a furniture? Go to Ashley Furniture or some other place. Spend your hard earn money somewhere else. I am going to fight for this but I'm not sure how many times they have been able to provide any sort of refund with the amount we've already paid for. I had been a happy customer at the Fremont, MI store for about 4 years, as of late they have a whole new staff, the whole new staff is trash..... Every time I make a payment I feel like I'm being lied to and charged extra. I always ask what my new balance is, and the next time I make a payment it's magically higher than it was previously. I applied for a tv on their website, was approved, paid the first weeks payment online, including any discounts provided and set up autopay. Then I get a call from a local store manager who says the online set up is only a deposit and they still need a copy of my driver's license, 1 referral and my bank information (Which I already entered online). My spouse and I get to the retail location and the store manager says they don't verify orders from the information entered online and hands me a blank application. Then he says there is $100 deposit required for all electronics, which is not mentioned anywhere on the website. He was borderline rude and had no customer service skills. The store was empty and he's walking back and forth while talking to me. This was the worse sales and service I have ever experienced.

I have bought items from a lot of places and did very well, but I have had a traumatizing experience with Rent a Center. Two of their staffs showed up at my mother house, didn’t park in front of her door park somewhere else. Wasn’t in a rent a center truck unmarked vehicle. One of the ladies put her hands over the doorbell camera beating on the door, I open the door there demanding money and I’m not leaving until I get money or product or I’m turning you in for theft of property. Which I told them I will return there item one item only on Monday morning. I had to give them money before they would even leave my mother door . They were really very unprofessional with attitude like they were handling me. So I hope anyone think very carefully before purchasing from them. They are literally worse than loan sharks. If you are late a single payment they will harass not only you, but everyone you know to get the payment up to date. They try to force you into an auto payment procedure. It's the most frustrating experience I have EVER had to deal with regarding a contract. I will never get from here again. Not only did they call all my family members, but right after I got caught up they began harassing me again attempting to sell me more stuff. I have been lied to. I have been cheated out of money because of this company. Rent-A-Center on Williamson Road in Roanoke VA is the worst place of all to try to get any type of items leased. Kyle and Kimberly will con you into anything, they will tell you prices of their items but then when you turn around the prices are jacked up sky high for no reason. If you're late on one payment they will harass you. Rent-A-Center has quoted me prices on items that were jacked up by almost $200 a month...it's sickening. Stay away from them! If you do go to them, be sure to have your contracts printed out right there in front of you, don't trust them enough to let them email them to you because they will change your initial quoted price(s). Decided to buy a washer dryer and couch from store off galloway in mesquite tx. Maria/Erin are so called managers. Mind you these were brand new out of the box front loader machines. Called around march stating dryer is taking a long time to dry clothes and washer won't drain properly - after calling every week for almost 2 months they send this creepy guy out who argued with some woman on the phone the entire time about a birthday party - he fixed nothing and left. Called again every day for about a week and I kept saying I would get a call back...NOTHING!! For weeks.
Finally get Erin - kept telling me she would call me back and call me back and call me back and again nothing. So I get mad and upset and call demanding to speak to someone because I'm paying 400 a month for things that aren't getting fixed - instead of listening to my frustrations she hangs up on me and won't answer when I call back. Fast forward to yesterday - I call to tell them to come pick them up and I hear. Ok sure no problem be there today.
Well that day comes and goes and guess what, they didn't. I GOT NO PHONE CALLS. So I called to have them picked up again no one answers. But I've had three calls this morning wondering when they can come by and pick them up. I'm renting well over 5k from these people and they can't take the time do give a call back and communicate???? They are super quick to call and get payment - but won't call you when something goes wrong --and SUPER QUICK to call you back when they wanna pick up their stuff. Make that make sense to me????

I have forwarded a complaint to the corporate office in Texas regarding the store manager and the behavior that is pure veiled hostility. This manager has power trip issues and stated many times that she is the only person that approved the contract and she can cancel it based on her own personal feelings. She felt as if she had been cut off when she actually interrupted the question I was asking and began answering it rigid and like mental problems live in her soul. She is a punisher and may abuse indiscriminately if unchecked. I am glad that I can tell someone and I won’t do business with a company that does not see they could be employing a subtle abuser. They probably sell your information and steal payment data as well she probably would have sent me dirty furniture and a crew of thieves to deliver the goods and come back and rob me later. I definitely got the feeling she believed she was the Griselda Blanco of rental furniture

I ordered a couch and a 65 in tv. Couch took 3 weeks to show up. Tv wasn't reset before delivery. Every week I have to unplug it. Sometimes it takes me an hour to get it to come on. That includes asking Google for help. And I'm up around 8. They are not open till 10 for me to call and ask for their help.

This is about of Driver, 345 pm Central time. Driver drove down Center Point Parkway swerving in and out, then driving so close to people's bumper that it was almost causing multiple wrecks, at 1 time the RAC truck was driving 71 mph in front of Jefferson County Courthouse in Center Point, then turned left in 2 sets of Apartments. 1 on left and 1 on right. All I know it looked like tall black man who was driving as he passed, couldn't get number on back, but I think the 1st 2 might have been 02... Someone needs to be aware and needs to have a talk with him..

I filled out a survey before I got my furniture and was frustrated because I got 3 different time frames from CS. Not really a big deal but the manager Called me and was kind of badgering me about the review I gave. I told him not to worry ...it's not that serious. My husband and I went into Rent-A-Center on Little Road in Port Richey Florida on a Wednesday. We were looking for a mattress. Absolutely requested that it be brand new. I've never requested any used items from Rent-A-Center. If I am paying to purchase an item I absolutely want it brand new especially a mattress. I would not want to be lying on a used mattress with somebody else's bodily fluids, dead skin cells, dust mites or whatever else it may be. The manager Jorge told my husband to lay on a few of the mattresses and see which ones he liked in the showroom. My husband proceeded to explain what mattress he liked. Again we requested a brand new mattress.
Today we received a delivery of the mattress not in plastic covered with stains not to mention the blood stain on the mattress and was told by the delivery men that there was just service dust on the mattress. I foolishly trusted these men and signed an agreement that stated we were receiving a used mattress. The agreement was signed before they brought the mattress up to me.
After they left I walked into my bedroom to see the mattress covered in stains, black marks, blood stains, dust and whatever else maybe on this used disgusting mattress. I proceeded to call the store and spoke with Jorge and said how absolutely disgusting infuriated I was that he delivered a used mattress to me when my husband and I specifically requested a brand new mattress. His reply to me was no, "I told you it was used and you said it was okay." Jorge is a complete liar and I called him out stating that he was a liar coz never have I ever in my history of renting from Rent-A-Center have I ever accepted a used item. If I'm paying for something I want my merchandise brand new. This man proceeded to call me a liar by saying I allowed for a used mattress which is absolutely ridiculous. My husband was there in the store as well and would never accept used merchandise especially a mattress.

Beware! If the appliance is paid off the protection insurance will not cover it! Oil is leaking from the washer bottom onto the belt on the floor. Dryer is clanging. I found a repair man and said to just buy a new washer, it would be too costly to fix, dryer repair was 160.00, I bought a service plan from Whirlpool directly before all this happened like the sticker on my appliances say, but now they said the appliances were refurbished and over a year old from being in the store. They did refund my 3 months of pay.. Never again will I buy from Rent-A-Center.

OVERVIEW: I ordered an electric bike online on Christmas Eve. I didn't get anything almost 6 weeks and when I got it home and unboxed it, it was the wrong bike. So I called to let them and I was disappointed with their response. The first time I called I was told that they ordered the bike that I ask for (suggesting maybe I gave them the wrong model number) but they would reorder the bike.
After a few days of not hearing back from them I decided to call again. But first I called a different Rent A Center in my area and ask if the bike I was wanting was available in stock and the guy looked it up in the system and said it was available. So I made the call. Jason, the store manager, answered the phone. He told me that the bike I requested and the bike I got instead had the same model number and that he was afraid that if they ordered the bike again, that they would get the same results. So I suggested ordering the bike until they did get the correct bike.
I feel like a simple phone call or a post it note on the order would've easily solved the problem of not getting the wrong bike a second time but what do I know. I'm sure it's so much more difficult than that. He ask if I would like a refund for my deposit and he offered me a different bike which I didn't want. I refused the refund as well. I just want the bike that I know is available for order without any issue. I called their customer service number and explained the situation and I'm now waiting to hear from a district manager but it's going on 3 days and no word yet.

Have made 120 dollar a month payments for a washer since May 24 2023. Was told I still owe over 700 dollars because my option to buy expired in November. I have been ill and was not notified or reminded of this by phone or mail and as a senior those are my modes of communication.

Had a rental agreement for Whirlpool washer and dryer set. Paid off early and within 30 days the dryer was not working. Now the store won't even give me a new dryer or a loaner to replace the broken dryer they sold me. I am a diamond customer and never had this experience. Please don't ever rent from Rent-A-Center or any of its affiliates, they are the worst customer service rental company around. All they want is your money and that's it. They don't care about the customers at all. After spending thousands of dollars with this company, I am no longer using their products and have sold them off and purchased new ones at an appliance store.

Don’t do business with these guys. If you’re a day late due to losing your credit card, they come to your house and bang on the door, ring the doorbell over 30 times, yelling. I was not home and have it all on the ring app. The dog sitter called the cops. This is not the way to treat your customers! HORRIBLE, horrible place! I would give them less than 1 star if I could.

I made my final weekly payment around december 29, 2023. I told them after that I would like to switch to monthly. This is the Rent A Center in elizabethtown nc. Shelby, billy and bridgette all knew I was going to switch to monthly. I made it clear around the 29th of december of 2023 that I wanted to switch to monthly. So just to make sure, I got an email on january 5 2024 that said my weekly payment was due. I called the store and talked to shelby who told me I am still on weekly payments. I said, "No, I'm supposed to be switched to monthly payments instead." She said I never mentioned switching to monthly and so I reported them to the nc doj on january 5 2024. I called them today on the 6th of january to pick up their stuff and close out my account and never contact me again.

I rent and paid off a few things over a 7year period and I asked if I could do a double payment in a week and a half which I had did a couple times before and they wouldn’t work with me, took all that money over a year on the products I had and refused to help. I’m a single mom. It’s Christmas and they were quick to come get their stuff. Do not go there. Overpriced products that don’t even last! I was dumb to ever rent or buy anything from them over 10,000 dollars to people who are heartless! Casa Grande AZ store located on Florence Blvd. by Urgent Care, stay away from them. They work with you a couple times but won’t after that.

I signed up online and received instant approval for a Sofa and Loveseat set. I followed the guidelines on the website as well as the emails sent. I signed an agreement and I scheduled my delivery. I was told if I had any questions, I should reach out to my local store. But since everything had been outlined in the agreement, I had no questions.
On the delivery day I decided to call to confirm the delivery because I was moving my old sofa out. Right away the woman said she could not find my order. Red flag #1. She then tells me she sees my order but doesn’t have the product but will call another store to see if they have it in stock. She was very helpful and kind. She said she would call me back in 20 minutes. I waited an hour figuring she was busy and called her. Her demeanor had changed. She casually told me that my agreement had been cancelled and my down payment had been refunded.
I ask why I was not informed and she said, “I have no idea ma’am, what do you want me to say” She then told me to come to the store with my info and paystubs and she would be able to do an agreement. I said I had done everything online already and she said she needed to redo it in person. I’m not sure but I assume this benefited her vs an online order. It was so disappointing as I expected my furniture that day and now I’m being told I have to start the process over again and I could probably get delivery within two weeks. On my agreement it was to be delivered within 2 days.
They just want to get you in the store to upsell you. I ended up buying the set from a furniture store ( my credit is bad so a family member helped me out with the credit). It was 1400. Had I rented it, I would have paid 2800. Double the retail cost. These types of businesses prey on people who have bad credit. Unfortunately due to divorce my credit took a big hit since I was left with a large amount of debt being a co-signer for my ex. Thankful for my family for helping me out and now I am paying 0% interest for 6 months. If you have bad credit, find any other way than using this business. I’m ashamed I didn’t know better. But lesson learned. Don’t trust this company.

I have a contract for three different furniture items. I pay every two weeks. I was told they're locally owned. There was no one to speak to other than one Manager when I needed receipts for my payments and information regarding my payments. I was behind in one payment a month ago and I already paid all the fees I mentioned if there was any sales on a laptop at that point I just made a payment. He said yes once he add all my payments. I ask, "Why so much?" He stated he will see if he can give me a lower price for my payments. He said he charged me for one week, gave me one week free. I made my payment, that same day I open my mailbox and saw a coupon for Rent a Center Halloween special, 3 weeks free on a contract. I call the store. I was told Vivian the manager would call me back. Havier is a driver as well and he wasn't there. I opened the contract with him.
I never received a callback and next time I went to make my payment on November 10 I was surprised when I mentioned the Halloween special and Havier told me I was behind in one of my items and that's why I paid last time, I already received the special for the other item. I was confused, that's not what he said and he hung up on me, said he doesn't argue with women. I was asking for receipts and trying to understand what happened. I also wanted him to pick up the item. I called back, Vivian the Manager was worse. I never experienced anything like this. I ask for the owner of the store name and information. I did not receive clear information regarding my payments and contract.
The Manager Vivian and Havier both did not allow me my right for information and truth regarding company owner. They continue saying they're locally owners, the owner is in another country. Finally called another Rent a Center. They advise me to open a online account even if they're locally owned. I was successful in opening a account. I had to call them back so they can correct some things on the account. I finally made my payment via link text he sent me. He said that was the only way.
I didn't understand once again but at least I had documented my payment and I had a online account. I'm horrified to know I have to continue conducting business after such disrespect Vivian told "She doesn't have time for this." She continue repeating that I'm still behind in my payments. I didn't get the chance to talk. She wouldn't listen. I was just asking for information, clear information so I can make a payment. It was insane. I was the one who called to pay like I always do. No one had time to explain or listen to me, never since they both didn't have the patience or respect to speak to me, I ask for someone else. According to them, there is no one. No consumer should ever experience this types of treatment. It was humiliating.

I am returning a fridge paid up for thirty days. I was like can I get my three weeks applied to other items I renting, they said no I take the loss. I don't believe that's contractual. If it's not they owe me and anyone else who has or already been through this. Up to this point they been good. I been with different ones over 30 yrs. Now the company literally is going downhill. So much competition out here that are what they use to be competitive no longer their motto. The new one by any means necessary is new one. I think this is tag team. I'm out. I know they have rules to follow for company. I like team but I like my money better. If you try to rip me off that's a problem

I rented a two piece living room set 2 PC Vacherie-Chocolate Reclining Sofa Loveseat in 2021 with an agreement that will end in 11/2023. I have a small hole in my couch that I told the about. I was told it is not under warranty however the next time I was told they were going to order me a new section of the couch because they come apart. The next call I was told he has the part in Kingston, and was waiting for a phone call from his guy. I have check with them now through email twice more and they are still waiting on a phone call. (Do you have new and used products available?) I don't know what to do. It is a lot of money that I have put out for this set and now it is ripping. I don't have children or animals. They are selling secondhand, low-grade furniture and will not repair it
On my account dashboard it states the following: "Are repairs included with my agreement? Yes! If an item breaks during normal use, we'll repair it quickly and at no additional cost. If offsite repairs are needed, we'll even give you a loaner while you wait. Contact your Rent-A-Center store to set up an appointment."

I have purchased an Ashley sectional. The quality is horrible to say the least. It cost over 3k. Have had less than 3 months. The fabric is flimsy and does not hold up. It won't stay hooked together. This only belongs in a land fill not someone's home. I will never buy an Ashley product again.

A partial payment was due on a window air conditioning unit. No calls, just showed up while I was asleep. He then decided to open the window, reach into my home to move a table and unplug the unit and then took said air conditioner. When did it become ok for someone, anyone to enter your home without your permission? When is it acceptable for a business to enter your home and partially climb through a window? I believe that would be called, "Breaking and Entering". All that they had to do was let me know to turn it back in, NOT perform self-help. They took their equipment along with my family's sense of safety and security. Best advice: don't deal with them. They are bullies and liars and use strong arm tactics and now they have added entering homes without permission.

Had my Credit Karma card hacked and had to deactivate it. Called 2 days prior to my bill being due to try to make arrangements until my card came in. Company does understand that life happens I guess. Because they are unwilling to wait for my new card and are now harassing me while I'm at work telling me my bill is due. I have the money on my account, I just don't have access to it except through Google Pay until the card comes in. And they don't accept Google Pay. What's a girl to do?

As the title says never again! I wasn’t even going to take it here with these people but clearly I don’t have a choice! The first incident was with an employee who had no home training and after clearing that up with the district manager which is know that this employee is not allowed nowhere near my apartment unless they want issues. Well today is Saturday and I’m currently waiting for my deposit to clear. Well tell me why this same rude employee shows up at my house (keep in mind the payment is not late it’s literally due today) asking for payment. Well, being that my payment is not late it’s actually still on time. You have no reason to come to my house. This time I was pleasant. Next time I can’t make any guarantees. Will never rent or recommend this place to anyone. Sidenote: Not everyone will accept the bullying and harassment. Consider that before coming to people’s houses.

On July 18 my work truck got hit by the Rent-A-Center truck in my front yard. Filed it on their insurance explaining that it was my work truck and I can’t make my living without it. First attempt I was reserved a rental car that wasn’t even available. Then told that I can just Uber or Lyft. Explaining if I didn’t live in the middle of nowhere it still did me no good. Fast forward 3 weeks of no income and their insurance stalling and ignoring. The manager at the store telling me once he filed the claim rent a center wipes their hands of it. So now a month later I’m offered a release letter to fix the truck but then not wanting to be liable for losing a month's worth of wages.

Stay away from Rent-A-Center in Troy, Al. They do nothing but lie when they have your item for repair. They have had my washer nearly 3 months. LIES, LIES, LIES is all I get. I am to the point of getting an attorney involved. They said it was fixed, brought it back and it had not been touched. They came and picked it back up and brought another loaner, and it wasn't hooked up right so my laundry room flooded. They now have it again, promised me it would be ready in 2 weeks, that was over a month ago.
The DM called when I made my first complaint and said that they would cover the payments until I got my washer back. I called this morning to check the status and was told it was going to be fixed this coming Monday and I would have it back Tuesday or Wednesday. Then this afternoon, they called and asked me for a payment. Hell no. You're not getting a payment until I get my washer back. These people at this particular store do nothing but lie. Do yourself a favor and don't go here!!

This company is God awful. I've been a customer since 2015 and dealt with two separate locations. ne back in 2015 and the other currently, 2022-2023. The first time I had a very similar experience and told myself I would never purchase anything from this place again. I guess time heals all wounds because I fell back renting a couch and tv from them. To be fair I didn't pay attention to the contract well at least the part of interest and how long I'd be paying on said items. (3 years was the length of my contract) for a couch and 50 inch tv. It's as dumb and impossible to believe as it sounds!
This last encounter with this company was absolute hell on my life. I literally stress less about my rent car note or any other bill WORTH STRESSING OVER, than I did this company. Personal affairs means nothing to this place no matter how long you've been a customer or how much you've already paid, they will harass you with house visits and phone calls literally the day of your payment and every single day after. "You may say oh well I just won't miss a payment". Well don't forget this is a 3 yr contract with biweekly payments.. They don't care if you are down to your last few payments they will harass and threaten you to insanity.
This company from the over pricing to the EXTREMELY ABSENT customer service, Is beyond awful! I cannot express it enough. I honestly don't believe anyone can because I looked at other reviews and every single one star review is spot on! I'm not an angry or vengeful person in a normal situation. I wouldn't waste the time trying to convince anyone that they shouldn't shop somewhere but, if this review can at least save a few innocent people from the headache this company is that's enough for me. Having this entire brand shut down would be a God send. This company is absolutely horrible and represents everything that is wrong with this country and how we treat each other as neighbors. I have purchased from Rent-a-Center for years and have paid off so much. The store owner even told me I was a green customer meaning I have good history. Well don’t know if he was just gaslighting or what. The company calls me as soon as they open their doors on the day I am due for payment. If I don’t answer they call and call and call back to back. I understand I have an agreement but give me time to get up and give me a chance to call you back. I can see if I am late but it’s the day I am due. Also every time I make a payment the amount seems to go up. I am supposed to pay biweekly and they switched my account to weekly and constantly harassed me for payment. I am over it.

I moved to a new apartment and Rent-A-Center moved my washer and dryer to the new apartment. The guys used my washer lid to move it around which broke the hinges. I tried contacting the store to have it replaced. My last payment was going to be processed within the next day or two. They wouldn’t answer the phone. Finally they answered and said they knew I was repeatedly calling all day and that I had to call back in a week because they were busy. I called back and they said they have someone come out to look at it. Never did. I called and they said there was never anyone scheduled to come out and no note. They forwarded my pictures to warranty services which got denied. It’s their fault my washer is broken. They need to fix it. The glass is popping out of the lid because of it.

The store has roaches. The manager is disgusting and makes inappropriate sexual comments about young girls that come there. He calls customers names behind their backs. He post things on pls accounts to get sales without their knowledge. I was there on day and the manager had his hands by his balls in his pants then smelled his hands and without washing started typing on computer to take a payment.

The store manager is rude and unpersonable! In the world we live in today there’s enough stress trying to make sure you make ends meet and he does not care about the customer at all! I had issues with him when we first purchased in which continued the whole year and a half we had the product. Lost my job last month in which my husband agreed to pay the bill but he refused the payment saying he doesn’t want to do business with us. Not to mention the reason the account was “past due” was because of their employee not taking the payment properly. Very disgusted with the manager at this location and will never spend money here again. Will be posting reviews across the board so everyone is aware of how he treats people in a time of need! Also threatened to report the equipment stolen and get me arrested even though we tried to give a $200 payment until my husband could come up with the rest in a couple days! DO BETTER.

My husband has rented from Rent-A-Center for years buying living room sets, appliances too many items to list individually. Except to point out they took my stainless steel refrigerator for repairs which was high priced and gave us a loaner. So we thought. Instead they switched out the refrigerator for a cheap white one and didn't inform us it ask if that was ok. While trying to get that taken care of we asked for repairs on a washer we purchased. Their repair man came in diagnosed the problem. RAC came in got the washer and sent it for repair. They brought it back still not working. Their guys came again and got it but didn't turn off the water when they removed the hose. Did about $3000 dollars worth of damage to my house and refused to accept responsibility for the damages.
I had just had brain surgery and was on restrictions and still had staples in my head and had to clean up the water they let run all over the place. It ruined my bathroom! And RAC's insurance company is refusing to pay. So I had to turn it in to my homeowners and they are going to sue RAC to get the money back. I have a $1500 Deductible so looks like I am going to take them to court as well.

I have rented a package deal from Rent-a-center. I bought my house 2 years ago and all was fine. We had an older washer and dryer in the home when we bought it. We wanted to upgrade and went through rent a center. They plugged in the new dryer and I was smelling a burning smell. They said it’s from the shipping and the oil from the shipping needed to burn off. I said ok and thought nothing of it. In October my husband went to restart the dryer and it wouldn’t turn on. I looked at the machine and then as I was looking to see if it had unplugged I see fire marks up my wall. I immediately had my husband pull the plug out. It was melted in the socket.
When I inspected the plug it was burnt and melted on 1 side only. I contacted Rent A Center and they sent someone out to get the dryer. I was told they would send me the insurance information. They never did I had to call repeatedly to get it. Then when I did get it the agent said it could take weeks to get someone out to inspect the damage. I called my own electrician out, got an estimate and waited for Sedgwick Rent A Center's insurance company to send out someone. They still haven’t. I called the electrician back out to repair the burned out socket $350 plus sending my clothes out to be washed $400 for a month.
Still no reply from the insurance company. I called Rent A Center and asked when I can get my dryer back. Mind you I was still paying on it even though I didn’t have it. They rent a center said I could stop paying on it but I would fall in to missed payments for the dryer and they would pick up the rest. So I have paid a monthly payment for an item I don’t have.
On 11-3 I called the store reported the wall and socket fixed by a licensed electrician. The store told me I had to talk to the manager. That she would be in the next day. So I waited until the next day. I had to call her she said let me get the store open I’ll call you back in a hour. Three hours later I called again. I was told the manager who was supposed to call me left. I talked to that person and was told that they were not going to bring my dryer back. That they were told to do nothing until the insurance company released it. The insurance company never came to my house never inspected nothing. I called the insurance company and the agent was out of town when I pressed 0 to talk to someone else the number is disconnected. This is an absolute nightmare.

Got a bed and a washer/dryer set. Was informed that the bed did not come with a mattress so I went for the $5 more and got a bed that definitely came with a mattress. Delivery day and no mattress. The drivers were professional and courteous and apparently the mattress wasn't put out for delivery. I called the store and after several calls not being picked up or going to voicemail, someone picked up. He saw that I was supposed to get a mattress and said the fastest they could get it to me would be the next day. It's 5:43 PM and not a peep out of RAC.
When I sent email I got an automated text message asking if I had time to chat. I answered yes. 15 minutes later the same automated text message, and I replied yes. Another 15 minutes and nobody has said a thing. I told them through the text and in the email feature that the text chat was useless fluff and I had blocked the number. Today I was supposed to have a mattress on the bed frame they delivered yesterday. How do they stay in business? Where is the representation here, or anywhere?

I now own a bed that was purchased 12 months ago but the bed drawer has been defective for 10 months. I have placed 3 complaints and call the office every week for 10 months. The manager refuses to assist me and the corporate office does not return my calls at all. I am stuck with a bed that has jagged nails that have cause injury. Now I must go to Municipal Court about this matter.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I like Rent a center. The company allows people basically an opportunity to have things they would normally have to pay for in cash however since 2020 when I first started my first agreement at 71st and Jeffrey the entire staff minus delivery guys have been horrible experience. I called today to understand why my due date was offset by 4 weeks. When I started it was 10 to start. Mind you I paid off my first agreement with them and they tacked on an extra $10.0 I said then I would never work with this store again. So by the time I got my items It was 4 weeks later and it was time to pay again which made no sense since I was under the impression it took so long because they had to order the furniture and when I called a week prior to receiving my items to find out why it's taking so long they told me I would have to order it which is another 3 weeks and up to 2 months or they said, "You can get the used items."
I was thirsty so I said, "Sure. Do I get a discount on the items." They said, "Yea yea" real fast and placed the order and told me it would be able to be delivered in a week. So yes 4 freaking weeks later the bill is due as if I even had something that last 3 weeks. My first order took 2 days to place order and get delivered so this was retaliation from before because I don't play that period. My due dates do not align with my pay dates and I stated that $6 fee extra every month no one will explain nor have they taken off or asked if I wanted it. They are extremely unprofessional and should be evaluated for sure the way they answer the phones to the misleading statements. ATTENTION PLEASE. CLEAN HOUSE.
I called back after manager screamed at me and assistant manager hung up on me to obtain the Manager's name. He asked my name and I told him he deliberately said, "The manager will call you back Miss ** (as if I'm sorry Miss ** in the Song)." Rude. Unprofessional. Unacceptable and I demand for my account to be moved to another store and they be looked into. I can't imagine how many hopeless people this store has mislead for sales and to be able to stay open. I called corporate in hopes of a solution in 24-48 hours but this issue is far from dead and the harassing if you are even 1 day late everyday until you pay is absurd and shows poor and unethical business practices.

We got a couch and loveseat from this so called business. They are high for one thing. We pay monthly and have never got a full month behind. They are already calling my job and came to our home and parked in the woods so you couldn’t see his car from the house. Gets out and starts pacing up and down my driveway when my wife and babies were home and me at work. Never knocks on the door. Who does this?? Rent A Center in Hickory is a joke.

Was a customer for 13 years at Alcoa TN and Maryville TN stores. Zack was manager and John was DM. The first 8 yrs went great. Excellent service and quality merchandise, John even finished the payoff on a entertainment center if I rented a washer and both I still have 15 yrs later. But the del. service started getting bad got a refrigerator and they tore my door and dented the refrigerator instead of taking doors off fridge. Got a laptop for wife. 6 month and the screen got a huge green line going through. It it went to service like 5 times and still never got fixed.
Janet was at Alcoa TN store with Zack then your corporate office made good on that and for that wife was grateful. We have had a couple things that needed repairs following that and we had to complained to John and Zack a lot 'til they got repaired or replaced. I figured that if I have to pay a lot of money I always got new. Never previously rented but the one time I did it was a bunk bed for my handicap daughter. Your guys set up in my living room I was redoing my daughter's floor.
About a week maybe 10 days later she has a lot of small bites on her we removed the mattress. Didn’t seen nothing. It wasn’t until I unscrewed the wood slats when we saw the bed bugs. Your co. sent someone out to check and underneath all the box springboards was infested. Your company had to flip the bill for getting rid of them and replace ins things that got infested. To make a long story short I went into the Alcoa store before Zack left and John was there with him was going to rent something. Zack said I couldn’t rent anything else. I asked him why. He said I need to talk to John. He got John to come out and this is what John told me he wasn’t renting to me because I had cost the company to much money and that I went over his head to have things done that he wouldn’t. How is anything that happen my fault?
13 years I was a good customer and at least 18-20k of my money. Paid off a lot of stuff with no complaints, Dustin is managing store now I went in there to rent a new refrigerator and he told me he would have to call John. He went into office, came out and told me that John said no he has never forgot me going over his head. I asked Dustin about it. He just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry and he koans I was a good customer. I have brought a lot of referrals to RAC and would like to stay a customer what can we do to fix this? Something that wasn’t my fault I wound up going to conns home furnishings to get my refrigerator at less the price from RAC but I go ticking the people Janet, Zack, Dustin and other staff. It all falls to John using his muscle to pick who rents and who don’t. Please email me back a response or feel free to call, thanks for hearing me out.

I had tables once, now they're gone, why? I have paid the rent for RAC, turns out, they took my table.. And they even took my lamp, that's why I recommend Aarons, if not, then don't try this company, they will try to take what you have..

In 2019, I bought a furniture set from them. First three months were great. And then the fabric began fading and tearing. So I called and called and it wasn't until a year later on the last day of our warranty when my couch was absolutely crumbled and shredded that they came by, said they can't fix it or replace it and left. $2000 for this couch and it lasted less than 7 months. Today in 2022, after trying to keep the couch together with super glue and nails, I finally just threw it out to curb. Btw, the couch was made from plywood, thin cushions and staples. Very cheap quality. I sat in it today and the whole couch just crumbled. Literally. Never again.

I’ve been renting from Rent A Center for about a year now and I was late one time out of a year my payment is due on a Sat. I paid it on a Mon. I had emergency heart surgery on Friday so I couldn’t pay on Saturday. My outside camera show they came to my house 4 times and email me 3 times and texted me 3. My son called them, told them my payment would be 2 days late and the reason why. They hang up on my son.. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. My payment is due every two weeks. They started texting and emailing two days before for reminders then I get out the hospital they charged my card without my permission. I didn’t know. Then I get on the app to make my payment, it goes through then I’m over down in my bank. I called to tell them about it. They was rude and hung up on me.
The woman that answered said, "Now you don’t have to worry about a payment. Bye." I’ve tried to talk to someone else but got the same run around then my buy out was 545. I went to pay it and their Computer was down. The lady said, "I’ll put a note here saying you just paying it off." this was a Saturday morning when my payment was due so I went home around 550pm, rent a center was knocking on my door for payment. I told the story, come Monday, I go in to pay it off and I got all kinds of late fee and charges so my payment came to 680. I would never rent from them again. I know people that rented stuff never paid and nothing happen but the ones that pay they treat like **. This is in Toledo Ohio

Got this PC as a starter gaming computer and it was quick and easy to set up and I love it so far! I was able to get it online and then pick it up in the store and it took only a few short minutes for me to get it up and running.

I am contacting a Lawyer for Harassment and Mental Anguish, Rent-A-Center 23101 Merrick Blvd, Queens, NY I picked up a TV from these people and they have been terrorizing me ever since... They have been to my home twice (have it on Video Surveillance) First time was on December 20th right before Christmas, my wife open the door and they threaten her and my dog went crazy. They left notices on my gate with my name on them for the public to witness... They have texted me threatening to call the police and tell them that I stole the item (FALSE POLICE REPORT). This has cause me stress I have never experienced in my life before?

I had a pay out balance of $181 as of last night June 29,2022... I called and told them I would pay it on the app…When I went to the app..It didn’t have the payout balance of $181. It had $112 so I paid the $112 and then it says I owe 3 more notes but if I pay out early it will be $119.. I called the store I deal with and they told me if I had of come in and paid it in person I would’ve had a zero balance and by me paying on the app it was charging me more.. I said I don’t have an extra hundred dollars to give y’all when I had a payout for $181 and if I owe anything it’s $69…I’ve been dealing with them for years and I feel like they’re ripping people off through the app…It’s not the workers because they are wonderful people. It’s the app…I paid my last Aaron’s note on the app and it didn’t say I owe anything else..It was paid out like it said…Rent-A-Center please do something about that.

I was approved and they put my store in the bronx and I live in Allentown. I explained this to the corporate office and they told me to call the bronx store. Well this lady called me from Rent A Center, charged my card. Then when I called back she told me I was not in the system. I am done. I will purchase what I need with a credit card. Thanks rent a center. You save me a bill.

After doing some price comparison, the fact that for a "Maytag top loading washer" that was priced NO MORE than $656.00 all day long, on EVERY SITE I VISITED..... THEN I see that Rent A Center prices the exact same washer at almost $900.00 cash and almost $1900.00 with their all too easy to utilize weekly payment plans,... IS ALL I NEED TO RATE 1 STAR. IMO this is taking advantage of those who can't obtain a morally sound, low interest payment plan!! HOW IS THIS ALLOWED??

I do not get paid until Tuesdays, they knew this before bringing me the washer and dryer. Still they harass me, tell me their payday is on Saturdays, so I better pay a week in advance. No customer skills whatsoever. Call after call, and I would pay the fines and all. But yet they continue. Disabled daughter and myself disabled, but yet even though we make great money, they have no desire to even work with us, so I procured another set and when my husband comes home from work for the week, they can come tomorrow around 4pm and get her thier bs products!!!
I will never recommend this company to anyone. Unbelievable bad business. I am so happy to see them go and know I will never get another harassing phone call or drop by that they do to try to intimidate people...Well I am a legal assistant, too bad for them for their actions. Do not use them. Buy them out right, if you need help please try a business that will help you like Happy's. Stay away from Rent A Center, thieves and stalkers.

Rent-A-Center in Surprise, AZ on Grand Ave. Hedi store manager is a nightmare. She needs to be fired. She treated so badly almost thought it was a racist attack using her manager as a way to disrespect me in refusing my money for payment on tv. I will escalated my experience to corporate office and above until I am heard. I do not recommend this store. Thank you.

The store manager at the Westfield Store in MA, has been so rude. There has been times I've called and he's hung up. I've gone in the store and he's on his phone and his assistant helps me. He's not professional. He's not friendly at all, he's just extremely rude to work with. He's one of the worst managers I've seen in this store. I don't recommend working with him. Ask for his assistant or another coworker.

The manager and employee of this store are outright rude and highly unprofessional to paying customers. I purchased a bed online and on that same day I confirmed with the store delivery of bed to my home on 12/9/21. I called store on 12/8/21 to find out the time of delivery of my bed. The female employee was extremely rude arguing with me that there is nothing showing in their system about my order and rudely and loud voice told me I must have purchased from another store. I asked her what she needed from me to help her do her job and she spoke to me in a rude and condescending way. I told her to stop. I told her I’m a paying customer and her treatment is unprofessional and that it’s not my fault they don’t know how to resolve the issue. She began speaking to a male employee about me in a rude way and abruptly put me on hold.
Then the male manager got on the phone and continued the rudeness and was adamantly saying I must have purchased from somewhere else and he doesn’t appreciate me telling him how to do his job. I told him I’m a paying customer trying to get the bed I purchased delivered as I was told on the day I ordered it and that he should not be rude and unprofessional with paying customers. He elevated his voice at me the entire time trying to speak over me. He said they have nothing on my order and that’s that. I looked up my email confirmation of order and told him how much I paid and the date and the store number and phone number. That’s when he asked if I paid the full cash price? I repeated that I paid in full online.
Then all of a sudden he changed his tone and said to me that’s why they didn’t see the order and was trying to nicely refer to me as mam. He said my bed would be delivered on Friday 12/10 rather than 12/9. A delay because they didn’t know about my order. This experience was highly negative and abusive at best. There was no apology. I will absolutely never again purchase anything from this store and I will be giving it the negative review it deserves. The days of treating a paying customer in a professional manner are over in this particular store. They not only need retraining on how to navigate their own systems and do their job right but they would hopefully benefit in retraining on how to conduct themselves as decent human being and polish up on their interaction and communication skills. They sound like extremely low educated people who bring their home way of doing things into the marketplace. Absolutely disgusting and tacky.

At Rent A Center they are absolutely terrific. Their prices are absolutely affordable. The delivery men are extremely nice. I will recommend everyone to go there to rent anything. Just don't go to Aaron's. They are ripoff. I will give all of my business to Rent A Center from now on.

We have been reading some furniture and things from Rent A Center and we’ve gotten behind on our payments. We have some issues inside of our house and they are refusing to pick up merchandise that we cannot afford. Correlation and Pam have been very rude to us and refused to pick up merchandise from our home. This is in Lehigh Acres Florida.

Rented a washer and dryer in February 2021 from the Prestonsburg Kentucky store. Called them on 7/02/2021 at 10:30am to pick up both the washer and dryer. I also told them that the washer was not working. Chris called me back and said they would bring me a new working washer, take my washer and fix it, then return to me. I told him no, just pick them both up. I still have the washer and dryer in my house. I've called every other day and am told the same lie. Also my credit card was charged for the month on 7/06/2021. The charges for the previous months were made on the 3rd and 4th of the month. Now they say they're looking into my refund. I will NEVER use them again or recommend them to anyone. Oh BTW, the guys in the truck are the best and they just picked up in the pouring rain.

Ok so my daughter rented a fridge and some lamps to use at our house from RAC, after a couple months she lost her job so I just continued paying, about 6 months later the compressor went out in the fridge, I immediately called rac and told them that I had another fridge I was going to use so was going to send this back and look for something else, they said fine. They come over weekend to pick it up, so I moved fridge to our porch/deck so all they had to do was back in and load it when they came, alas 14 days later they finally showed up and wouldn’t take it cause it now had bugs in it from sitting outside so long and pretty much told me I had to keep paying for a broke fridge that I was stuck with it. Anyways me and my family being 20 year customers were kind of shocked and will now be renting elsewhere.

My card was charged without my knowledge, ordered a gas dryer and on delivery day they say, "We don’t even carry gas dryers!" Still waiting on my refund 3 days later, absolutely the worst customer service ever, if you can understand what they are saying.

I bought some items there and at first everything was going good. Until I had to get another job and be forced to part-time. I informed the people at the Painesville, Ohio store and instead of helping me, they kept it as status quo. It's hard to conduct business with a company when that company does not know what is going on or even care.

Furniture I purchased on the rent to own was damaged after only a few short months. The inspector came and said it was damaged. The store and district manager are no help. They were supposed to order me a new couch and this was supposedly done October 7, 2020. They claimed it was on back order due to Covid, however upon speaking to the furniture manufacturer and the main store Ashley said numerous times they are not this backed up and it should only have taken 2-3 months maximum for my sectional to come in, it's been 4 months and nobody returns calls. I contacted the corporate office, and the district manager and the head operating manager has not returned my calls. So, I am left with damaged furniture and a store I refuse to contact because of how awful their attitudes and unprofessionalism is and the upper management team has done nothing.

After submitting a complaint (one of the almost 500 received in 2020) to the BBB the RAC legal team responded with a letter that has to be seen to be believed! This letter is packed with so much misinformation I almost feel bad for the “legal representative” writing it! According to her, in the past 2 years I purchased 5 mattresses and frames from RAC and tried to get out of paying each time a payment was due! Yet when I needed a 6th mattress and frame the “exceptional staff” took mercy upon on me and gave me a mattress and frame for a courtesy period! 6 mattresses and frames in 2 years, they know I’m a problem customer so they give me a 6th???? This letter speaks such volumes to their commitment to customer service and satisfaction! Sincerely, please take the time to read it and see what this part time laundry mat attendant and part time small town paralegal submits to the BBB on behalf of the RAC legal team!

I got double charged off the app, showed proof to the store and the corporate building, and 5 days later, still have not gotten anything resolved, other than them saying they will look into it?! Not a good time to be double charging and not correcting. Yet this company still called and asked where the payment was ?! Just very unprofessional. The workers at the Union Park store Alex, and Pedro are very nice and trying to help, but I guess corporate is not to concerned with helping resolve this! One dissatisfied customer.

I've been trying to reach this Rent-A-Center for 2 months well the manager anyway because of my voucher. I have a voucher for another product so I've been trying to get a manager on the phone since 2 months. Wait. What? This is the Rent-A-Center 1720 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard Charleston South Carolina 29407. The employees lie and say that the managers are out of the building or is busy. That location does not get a lot of business so I know they're lying and I'll set out the door in my car and saw that the manager was in the building while the employees told me that the manager was busy. I am sick of this Rent-A-Center. They have no business ethic and they are very sloppy! I don't even want to put a star rating but I can't move on to the next page until I do so. It's going to be a one of course!

So I have been with RAC since like August with no issues besides the annoying phone calls to me and my husband's phones every payment due date. If they don't reach you they will call over and over again! Anyways I recently switched to paying my payments online to not have to go into the store because they treat you like crap after you sign that contract. So I was paying online no problem then yesterday (Monday) which is my due date every week for the laptop. It is $31. So I work from home and I get off at 7pm, I had forgot to make my payment but they had already talked to my husband earlier that same day and he told them if not tonight then tomorrow morning for sure.
RENT A CENTER knocked on my door at 7:30pm while everyone in my house is eating asking me to make a payment now! He asked me if I wanted to use my card to make a payment now with him. I'm like, "I'm going to go inside when you leave and make my payment online. I am not handing you my card." After that I'm like, "What are you going to do if I don't make my payment? Are you going to come in my house and get my laptop?" I laughed (we have a house full of people 6 people). I then asked him to please get off my property! I went inside and come back out 10 minutes later. He is still standing by my front door like 2 ft away! I was yelling at this point get off my property now!
The manager was on the phone with him the entire time! He finally left after 30 minutes of going back and forth. I called rent a center the next morning and talked to the manager and he said, "Oh that was my fault. The guy is new and didn't know what to do!" I told him, "I make my payments online to not deal with you and the rude people who work for you every time I am in here. I am always leaving mad. How are you going to come to my house when technically my payment was not late!!"
I did make it after the guy left and then he argued with me, "Well it says here you paid it this morning." "So you're telling me I'm lying?" "No that's what it says and you didn't pay your club fees" which is a rip off anyway. My payment was $41 last night and I only made my payment not the extra crap you guys charge. I will never rent from rent a center ever again. Buddy's is the best place to go. They will work with you if you're late not show up to your house the same day the payment was due and harass you at home.

We rented a few items from them and our "new king size" bed from the sales floor had bed bugs. I looked it up and bed bugs are common evidently for RAC. I have pictures and have sent them to a lawyer. The manager made a verbal agreement with me then failed to follow through. I will never rent again and I will be sure to share my experience.

In the beginning of November I had put $15.00 down online for a Nintendo Switch and then a Pac Man arcade. I did receive a phone call saying they were out of the Switch but if I could come in to fill out the paperwork for the Pac Man arcade. I had went into the store, filled out portions, but I didn't have a few important information that was needed and never went back.
The next day I ended up having a family emergency where I was gone for 2 weeks with just returning to town yesterday. To my surprise I receive a rental agreement dated 11/19/2020 with my name on it. I never okayed and wanted this product that I am even more upset that someone signed and dated a contract without my permission. How can a company do this without the go ahead from the customer? Don't 2 people have to settle on a contract? Isn't that the way it works? Nowadays or when you don't hear back from a customer you just sign and date their name to a contract? I am definitely not interested in ever renting from a company that does business like this. Also I am not spending my off day seeing who to contact in regards to this.

Handle broke on my 2000 dollar couch. It got sent off to get fixed. Now 3 1/2 months later my couch coming back not even fixed. Not a good way to do business with someone who has been a loyal customer for 5 years. Well I can now say I'll never get anything from them again.

Just wanted to thank the guys at the Laconia NH Rent a Center. My hubby and I tried to fix our dryer when it broke...no luck. When the bearing broke it bent the drum severely. Three children and six weeks from Christmas I can't exactly afford 300.00 for a new one. I had the dryer within 3 hours of calling. After reading these reviews I hope they are different here. I can handle many phone calls (I get 28 calls a day from my own family members that I ignore with no stress). The guys at rent a center were thorough and even helped us load the dryer into our car. No complaints so far but I have no problem updating if there is an issue.

I have had the worst experience. I missed a payment after making 41 straight payments with no issues. They kicked and damaged my apartment door which I had to pay 575 dollars to replace but that was not the worst part. I called Whirlpool which asked for the serial number of my washer and dryer. It took forever for me to find it and when I did I was told it was a model that was five years old. It was also damaged which was the reason why Rent A Center got a hold to it. I am on the one on Stage rd in Bartlett TN. I will never do business with them ever again.

I was suppose to get my tv stand last week on Tuesday. When they arrived they couldn't get it through our front door. They tried and and scratched up the stand and the wall. They tried to bring it through the garage but couldn't due a few few inches cause some stuff was blocking their way. They didn't give me enough time to clean it and it wouldn't take long. One of workers said they couldn't lift the stand anymore. So they got frustrated with us and said they would deliver it on the Friday of last. But behold they couldn't 'cause their driver was sick. They said deliver it today early in the morning but they changed it till tonight. But I guess the manager had major bad attitude towards my fiance. It wasn't called for and after today I won't deal with them anymore.

Honest review input here. Wanda from Rent-A-Center in Fredericksburg Virginia is extremely rude and always has an attitude on the phone with me. She is unreasonable and I’ve been a bit late on 2/3 payments but made up the late fees the week after. But her customer service skills is not up to par for this company and not professional. She has called me 5+ times in one day and every call she is non negotiable and extremely rude. Please re-evaluate having her on your staff. She is a main reason I will not be a returning customer after this tv purchase.

I rented three items from them years ago. I paid the first two off with no problems. My third purchase was a TV. I had maybe 3 payments left when I ran into financial difficulty. I called them to request an extension and they wouldn't work with me. Mind you, I had paid off two other major items previously faithfully and with no issues. I believe I only needed a week or two extension. They harassed me, called me, came to my house every day! What a terrible way to treat a good customer!
To make a long story short, I did pay the TV off within the two weeks. I never ever used them again. I made a few more large purchases with Aaron's and was completely satisfied. I ran into one issue where I had to request an extension and I never had a problem. They worked with me, didn't harass me and everything got paid in full. In-fact, the GM helped me out and gave me a generous discount on the final payment for being such a good customer! I no longer need to use such places, but I am thankful for Aaron's being there when I needed them. Currently, my son and wife have a few rental items and was impacted by Covid and awaiting unemployment. Of course, Rent-A-Center harasses them constantly and call my phone after me telling them not to do so. They are rude, unprofessional and uncaring. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RENT-A-CENTER!

We got a Samsung washer and dry. Put money down. Called and said a salesman did not put a tag on it and another salesman sold it. Complained several times it was leaking. Repair came and got it, did not use appliance dolly to remove. Service 2 weeks later said nothing wrong. Still no appliance dolly. Hooked up and the washer jumped and leaked everywhere. Next time had it for 4 months. Service called finally and said our refrigerator was ready. Dont have a refrigerator with Rent A Center.

Donna called my son AGAIN today. He inquired on what happened to the paperwork he filed for the claim- to get help with payments. She basically called him a liar- said it wasn’t done right- and demanded a payment IMMEDIATELY. Mind you, she knows he has been laid off. Knows he is waiting on unemployment. 5 days late. He tried to explain about the Pandemic going on- she wasn’t having it. I took the phone and was not about to let her talk to my son that way- grown or not! She was screaming at me- telling me she was “not Rent a Center” and we were liars and basically “where’s the money!?”. What poor representation. I will NEVER buy anything from the Clute, Texas store as long as Donna is an employee there. The most disgusting and hateful behavior I have EVER encountered.

The Rent-A-Center located in El Cajon, CA has been contacting my references numerous times on the same day that I paid my payment that was due on the same day. Then when a few days later they showed up to my place and threatens and harassed my roommate who also has a major hear condition and demanded that he makes my payment for me or they were going to call the police on him. They've even called him number times and threatens him over the phone as well. This company and the El Cajon, CA rent a center location have been informed by me on multiple occasions to not contact my references and to not contact me while I'm at work.
They did not listen and still continue to do whatever they please to try and collect payment on this contract. They have also been informed that my roommate who is only a reference and not a cosigner has a heart condition and was informed to not contact him and that any stress could cause him to have another massive heart attack and could kill him. My roommate is looking to get an attorney and sue rent a center for harassment and unwanted threats. due to covid lockdowns and stay home order and my roommate being put out of work because of his condition thing have been tight.
I know I'm overdue on my payment and have tried to make arrangements with them and they still demand that I make my payment immediately even after informing them that I have lost hours at work due to this whole shutdown. His statement to me was that this was my problem and not theirs and that I have to pay them regardless or return the item I'm making payments on and have my contact cancelled even though I've paid more than half of the contract which is more than what the item was worth to begin with.
This company has been heartless and uncaring about their customers and endangering one of my reference's life to try and collect with making the statement "I will call whoever I want whenever and however I want or deem necessary". I would recommend to anyone looking to do business with rent a center to use your funds otherwise and buy your items somewhere worthy of your time and money and would appreciate your business. The reason I gave one stare is because there was no option for no stars or negative stars and I would not have even given one star, but had no choice in order to leave a review. Do not use this company for anything unless you're looking for grief, aggravation or heartache.

I have never been treated as badly as I was treated by Rent-A-Center. My whole story starts with having to wait 3 long hours for them to print out my contract to sign. It only took me 10 minutes to pick out what I wanted but they wanted to train someone new so they left that person alone with me for 3 hours while they learned on their own how to do their job?!? The manager was on the phone with her boyfriend or husband the whole time and even went as far as to say at one point during their conversation, "Oh that sucks. A couple just walked on that are looking at the couch you wanted."
I was patient and understanding during this entire process. When they arrived with my bedroom set of 6 pieces they had actually only brought the bed and mattress only and claimed they were told that is all I had picked out! I showed them my lease that says I have a 6 piece bedroom set and they shrugged and repeated their excuse to me again. They then decided to call their manager and have them straighten this out. The manager tried to tell me that they were right and I had to renegotiate a new contract???
I stood my ground and demanded my items. The manager wasn't happy with my stance and told her delivery boys to pack up my bed and return to the store. I didn't even get my bed delivered cause they screwed up then decided to screw me over again when I got upset. I had to call back and threaten their jobs and call corporate before they decided that I was right and they will honor the lease I signed with all 6 pieces and for the same price..
Well, a few days later pass.. I call and ask for 2 days extension on my first payment cause I just moved and I still had a phone bill and a car payment due this same week.. They initially told me cause I am an Uber driver with no real pay schedule like most people that the date it falls on isn't set it stone.. Well, just so you know it was set in stone.. So much so that apparently they claimed they could take my stuff if my first payment wasn't paid on time.. Then they went on today that if I don't sign up for auto pay that they will also take my stuff back which of course is a HUGE lie and bullying!
I'm a new customer barely a week in and I'm treated this way. I was never told sorry ever, not once by anyone. I was bullied several times and used to just so they could sweep their mistakes under the rug and also it seems like they like to make up rules and change what they say in a vain attempt to appear like they have all the control and you have to do what they say or else mentality and this psychological mind ** - B.S. has made me so angry. They have arrogant, simple-minded employees that they hire just cause they listen well and have no soul and the managers love that so they can do whatever they want without insubordination..

I recently needed an upgrade to my laptop due to my old one was just outdated and I couldn’t update it anymore. I chose RAC for a second time, the first left a very sour taste in my mouth. But I thought that since my circumstances were different and the payments were only going to be paid for a brief time and the it would be paid off early, no harm no foul, right? Wrong. First off it took me numerous times to get my autopay set up and the Area Manager was super helpful in assisting me with this. However shortly after this I had some fraudulent charges on my account and my card was turned off and I had to wait for a new one.
I called them to let them know what was going on and still I received phone calls asking when I would pay. Ok whatever, I get it, they were worried that I was getting behind. So I made my payment. Had the draft on my bank statement but I continue to get the calls. I tell them it’s paid. They needed proof. Well I work weird hours and my sleep schedule often prohibited me from making it into the store to show them. They then show up at my house! I explain what I had already explained at least 3 times to other employees. I was told by the one at my house that they went by my work and I don’t work there, haven’t worked there for months.
Well 1, I had only had the laptop for a little over a month and they call to verify employment before you can begin your contract, 2, my employer was helping me with the purchase since I did a lot of work from home. But she stood there on my porch and tried to tell me I didn’t work where I had clarified with her seconds before. I had my uniform on and was getting ready for work at the time. She didn’t apologize to me for lying about going to my work, well the correct one anyway. So in order to clear things up I make the payment again. Get caught up. I had a hard time switching my card on autopay to the new card number. COVID-19 had affected my employer’s business so yes the payment was totally late and it wasn’t paid until The next one was due. But BOTH payments were made all at once.
4-5 Hours after the payments were made they came knocking at my door saying to give them the laptop. I said the hell I will, it’s caught up. I had to provide the employees at my door with a receipt AND wait while they called the store manager to make sure I didn’t have to give it back. Ok they left, the very day my next payment is due I begin getting phone calls. I was actually under the impression that my employer had already paid it off. Even so that’s not what has me so upset. My payment was due on May 30, as I was experiencing some friction with my employer. I hadn’t had a chance to speak with him about payments and such. But on June 5 exactly one week past the payment at most. But on this day their employee used my contract and references from my FIRST contract and began calling them and telling them that I was 3 payments behind and they needed their laptop back.
That reference was my sister in law so it caused a bit of commotion that morning where everyone tried to know exactly what was the truth. The reason I am still so angry is because the contract that I was under only had my work references because it was strictly for work. I hadn’t put any family down on purpose because this purchase wasn’t for personal reasons and I had no interest in my family becoming involved if something went wrong. The RAC employee then tells my sister in law that I am 3 payments behind!!! It was only June 4 and. Payment was just made in the 15th of May and it was only due no weekly.
First off I know they can contact the references I have down but I am also fully aware that they can NOT reveal any personal information. They can simply ask them to get met to contact them. They revealed the exact date I began this contract and lied about when the payment was last made. All that was revealed to a reference from an old contract that had nothing to do with this new one. I addressed these issues and was told yes my sister in law was in this contract and I did owe 3 weeks worth of payments. And it was their job to collect it at any cost. The store manager actually had the nerve to tell us that people just don’t understand they are doing their job. No, no, no it is not their job to lie and make a situation look worse than it was because it was not their problem.
They called me a liar about not working at my job. I gave the laptop back and have contacted every newspaper in a 50 mile radius telling my story and have actually been contacted by one local TV channel to speak about the unscrupulous methods RAC does business. I was like most other people during this time and due to circumstances my payments were a little slower in coming but they received every penny that was owed for that payment. I didn’t make half payments and they didn’t give one care at all that COVID was making things a bit difficult. No they literally lied, manipulated and harassed me. The first time I had used RAC both my husband and I lost our jobs and I was just getting their merchandise ready to give back when they showed up at my house, threatened to call the police if I didn’t just hand it over. I was all I needed to do was finish getting my information off of it and was refused to be allowed to do so.
The store manager then looked at me and said if I would take care of my responsibilities then I wouldn’t have to be humiliated like this. I called the area manager and didn’t get a call back, I emailed and called RAC corporate and never even received a reply that time. So this time I can’t just sit back and not let people know what type of business they run and hopefully save someone else from making the mistake I did.

I went to rent band new things from the RAC in rocky mount NC on fairview rd 27801. I was already inform on how the RACs here in Rocky mount call and harass you. How they call uncontrollably about something you know you owe them. Not late but a friendly reminder I didn't ask for every time it becomes time to paid the bill. Although the prices and the product (online) looked awesome. I did my application online two days before I went into the store. The store workers could not find it. So they said, but yet called my phone number I had set up in on the very same application you said, "You couldn't find." So, not only am I dealing with people who try to belittle other people intelligence and will quickly lie to you. I were not pleased with the service I were getting from the start. It was very poor.
I later call back to tell them that, "Yes. You found my application because you called my cell phone." I was told to disregard the call. Then later had to redo my application all over again. So very unprofessional. But I'm doing business with RAC not their workers. After I completed the application It took me several days before I even got what I paid for. They wouldn't let me take my tv home nor did they have my game system. It was painful, mentally. I understand you have to ask some questions about a person life, but some things are not meant to be asked.
From the start of me applying for my TCL tv and switch. I didn't feel so conformable in even giving my money to them. Let alone my contact information or anyone else who knew me. I figured something was not going to be right. By the way I asked for my product to take home and they didn't want to give me it me. Other places do not mind you taking something that belongs to you. What made this place so special? You tell me... I was told my switch was not going to the store. It in fact were going to one of the workers homes. Wait, why is my product going there. You tell me. I couldn't go to the store that had it to get it. I was not allowed to at least get my television. Although, I could look at the store module. See how it works from the store module.
Now, I Own a SUV. So, indeed I have more than enough space to take my own product home. I was told they needed to bring it to my home so if anything go wrong they brought it. Well, damn... Excuse me... I wish Wal-mart, Target, K-mart etc. would do that. Now, to me; it became a hostage issue with something I paid for. How hard is it to load a box with a tv in it in my truck and drive home. Why do I have to or need you to bring anything to my home. Can't say you needed to know where it was going to be. I gave you my address. I didn't need for them to set up anything. I don't need you in my home. Its was a very Painful and unprofessional experience I every had over something I'm giving my money to.
I was told I were going to get my product when they first opened up 9 a.m. I told them I had to work that day. I had to be there at 1 p.m. They didn't bring it at the time I asked nor the time they said. I didn't get my product until the afternoon after 4. Really. Really. So, when they finally get to my home. I received the TV. It came with no box, he brought it in already together. There were no papers instructions about the TCL TV. The cable cord adapter on the back of the tv were broken. You can see where the paint is chipping on the stand. The Switch was pre-opened. It had a thin cell phone charger wire and cell phone adapter cube. It were missing the AUX cord. The controllers are slack and will not stay on connected when playing it in hand held mode. The box in which it sits on has a shortage in it. It has to be reconnected to a power source just so I can play it on the broken TCL TV I have.
My father just dead at the beginning of this week. I didn't tell/call them to tell them anything about my dad death. Frankly it's none of their business. So how did you know. Why are you calling my family at the time of us grieving. Why are you even calling in the first place. Behind a bill not even a week late. Harassment to the fullest. I thought the government put a hold on paying billing. Even though, I were still paying them. They went and harassed my love ones, to locate my where about. Like my parents. I'm away from town and get a phone call where they have called to now harass my mother. During this time you called to say you know about the death and call them before call the police.
Ok, I informing you all the that this is not the last step I'm taking about the over all experience I had with this place. I wanted everyone to know just what they're getting themselves into dealing with these people at this store. The harassment, threatening me and damaged product with the poor customer service is what I will be expressing my deepest concern. No one at this time in life with ever thing going on. Should deal with. I have the witness 5 that all saw how the Tv and switch came and the over tons of people who are willing to talk about how these people treat people. Trust me I will be calling the HR with your company and if need be I will be talking to my lawyer on Monday.

I think people are exaggerating on here. I've had nothing but good experiences with Rent A Center. They have even made it easier to make your payments with auto pay now. The people that are saying nothing but bad things have their own personal agenda or don't know how to pay their bills on time. Rent a center is very understanding and willing to help but you guys have to do your part in keeping in contact with them. Besides they still have a job to do. And they are essential because what if your appliance went out during this pandemic where are you going to go?
All in all you just gotta let them know what's going on so they can help you, I've witnessed it first hand. I've needed help plenty of times. And they are willing to help the people who want to keep and contact not the people who want to blow them off and take advantage of the pandemic. I'm sure most of the people complaining are still working. Just don't want to pay. Look at it this way if someone you knew personally owed you some money like a substantial amount are you going to let them blow you off? I don't think so, put yourself in their shoes. I'm sure they also have corporate breathing down their back trying not to go bankrupt. Prices are kind of high is the only bad thing I have to say about them but my store in Gladstone Missouri is great!

I live in Washington Pa and our Rent A Center that is located on West Chestnut St is the WORST rent a center ever. The manager talks to his customers like they are worthless. He has no compassion and he’s just rude. I rented a laptop and two cell phones and I didn’t know they rented me a laptop with no battery in it but yet they gave me a charger with it. I got home and realized that my laptop wouldn’t stay on because there was no battery and the only way it would work is if it was on the charger. I called rent a center and they said it would take a week for the battery to come in and that they would call me when it does, it NEVER came in I believe and they gave me runaround.
I called them today to see if they would give me an extension and I would pay them double on my paycheck because due to the coronavirus I was having it hard and he said, "No I’m not doing extensions and you gotta pay what you owe." He has no compassion as to what is going on because he isn’t the one who lost their job due to this. STEVE is the manager and he’s horrible. I am not the only one who thinks this. He needs to be fired. Now the other employee Mike, he treats me so nice and he’s so caring. He’s a great asset to that place. Remove Steve and have mike as the manager!! If I could get corporate's number to place my concerns I would call them.

I just recently moved into a new apartment and needed some furniture so I went on Rent-A-Center website and saw that they were running a special first week 1995. Well I found a love seat in the couch I happen to like. The payments would have came out to be like $80 a month so I went ahead and filled out the online contract. nobody even called me for two days then they call me to find out when my pay days were so they know where my rent was due and I told him to 10th and 25th. Well they told me they would deliver my furniture on the 21st which they did when they got here then for me that my rent will be due on the 25th since it's my payday.
Well mind you they brought the furniture on the 21st and my payment is due the 25th. If I recall right a week is 7 days not for so now every payment I make is late 'cause when you get paid on the 25th or 10th or whenever you have to have at least one day to cash it especially if you're working on that day or if the 25th falls on Sunday Rent-A-Center is not even open but they're going to charge you for that day of being late and on top of all that when they got here with my rental contract it was almost double what I had expected to pay. According to their ad on the internet it would have been $80 a month when everything was said and done I pay almost a hundred and fifty. That's not exactly a small difference but it's because they tack on all these fees that don't mention in their ad when they advertise a rental price.
And on the day they delivered my furniture the dude told me he had to wait for me to sign up for auto-pay before he could leave basically telling me that if I didn't sign up for auto-pay he couldn't rent me the furniture which rent-to-own has no policy about having to have auto-pay. It says you can sign up for it but you don't have to so basically this dude intimidated me to sign up for auto-pay so he can get some kind of bonusI find this to be so sad because at one time I used to rent from Rent-A-Center quite often I bought in a lot of stuff in them over the years but I would never buy another thing from them. This is the worst experience I've ever had and they are the biggest rip-off there is if you have to rent some rent from Aronson's I've rented from them before and yes they're expensive but they're honest when they advertise a rental price that's what you pay for it they don't slap a bunch of charges on and when they tell you a week they actually mean it you get the product for a week for the price they advertise it at.

If I could give rent a center zero stars I would! Even when I paid on time the day I am due to pay I get numerous calls about my payment! It’s ** ridiculous! Now we are all going through this hardship with the COVID-19 they are still harassing me about my most recent payment which is only $56.00! I owe them $56.00 ** dollars and they keep calling me. They have to be the most insensitive company I have ever been involved with! The supervisor is very rude! And so is the ** other employees. Them ** need to count their days because I’m over them and this **! If I knew it would be this much to rent I would of just brought outright. Never rent from Rent A Center especially! The Rent A cCnter in Philadelphia at 6585 Roosevelt Blvd! Management sucks!!!!

I have to agree with every comment made about this company, they been harassing me on the phone everyday since this virus started its attack and I couldn't work due to all business closing down. I'm pinching pennies for my kids and we don't have a car, so I have to walk with caution to get our needs and the prices these stores are charging are crazy. I'm so disappointed in them after all these years and I mean years I have done purchased many items from them in different states and this is what they do!
Do they really think I'm gonna put them before my children's well being, now they done sent me a threatening letter saying their gonna prosecute me and send me to jail, but they say their customers are important! I wish the state officials would jump on them and reprimand them for such disrespect and inhumane acts towards their costumers and causing more stress on top of what everything else, us as a society are going through a very ruff time in our lives right now with this situation!

Today I had 10 calls, my husband 6 from Rent A Center. Our payment was due March 28, I had made mention to the store that a payment would be made tonight April 1, 2020 online in full. The manager of Rent A Center Lisa, is very rude and mean. I am temp laid off due to the COVID-19 crisis and don't go back to work until April 21, my unemployment is behind due to everything happening in the world right now. I explained to her that I understand my payment is late but I never miss a payment, ever! She said, "Well mam, we need to schedule a pickup for your washer and dryer then!" "First off, I have made 21 payments, 1600, I am almost paid off, you are not taking the washer and dryer!"
I asked her how she would feel if she was laid off and I called her and wasn't understanding, she said, "Mam I pay my bills!" "WOW!! Well so do I!!! I told you I will make the payment of 96 dollars tonight." She giggled at me and I lost it. I admit, I flipped, I don't even know what came out of my mouth. I hung up on her! She has been blowing up my phone non stop leaving rude messages! I have contacted headquarters and am filing a complaint. I am so over them hounding me and having no compassion. If you're a day late, they show up at your house with their truck, bang on your doors, blow up your phone and call all your references. I guess that's what I get for renting with them.

I have rented from RAC for years. Paid off numerous acts. I rented a sofa in 03/17 that I'm still paying on that was used. Keep in mind sofa in Rooms To Go was $999. I've paid $3,000 with interest on used sofa. Purchased tv in 07/18 & still paying on it. Not even name brand. I would had given sofa back but put so much $ into it. Moving on to the employees. I have seen many come & go. I have NEVER saw such nonsense as I have witnessed these past few months. The last Mgr Ira was very nice, thorough & worked with Customers. He went above & beyond for them. He was a businessman & knew how to run a store. If asked to order anything or get it fixed, it was done. If you was running late, he would help with a day or so.
I see nothing but greed & power hungry people in that store now. Not the same friendly Sales, staff use to smile lol before. I have contacted as other Customers stated Corporate because I know the rto game. The 1st thing that's being throw up: They're Franchised! But they have bosses too! Why should I be making extra payments for them to make bonus. They need to treat all customers the same. That store has really went to shame with employees not speaking to customers. Just today. My grandson had trouble putting sim in his phone from repair in store. The now acting Mgr stood there until I addressed the issue of "Where's the Customer service that you all stated your last Mgr did not provide!" Deliver guys rude & do not speak. That's not professional Customer Service as well. Investigation needs to done into their overpricing & fixing of paperwork.

I'm a maintenance supervisor at an apartment complex. Had my apartment check for bed bugs or roaches 'cause I don't want this **. Went in to bike to get me a new couch since I'm already renting the TV from them. Told them. I wanted a brand new one. Okay, I had it for about a month and I just and I told the lady I had very small quarters. The couch was insanely too big for my apartment. The guys had trouble getting it in. Well after having it for a month I decided I didn't want the couch no more. So I called Rent-A-Center and told him to come pick it up. While their guys come out and automatically flip it over, start turning it over, tearing it apart then proceeded to tell me I had bed bugs. I said, there's no No way. So they refused to take it. I had it treated for it. Just to be on the safe side the pest control guy came and checked the whole apartment, found no bed bugs, but on the couch.
To make a long story short then they stop refusing to take my money for my TV. So they said that instead of me paying 3,000 and something for tore up couch. I could have it for 700. Okay, I just want this ** done. So I go in they not only charged me a reinstatement fee for the TV which they refused to take payment, but also a reinstatement fee for the couch.
While I was in there and I took pictures. ** cockroach comes crawling across their counter. I told the lady I said, "You're infested with cockroaches." And I said, "And I bet you also got bed bugs." I said, "'Cause I don't." She says, "Oh a homeless man came in the other day. That's where it came from." And I said, "No ma'am." I said, "That's not where it came from." I took pictures 'cause I don't want anybody else going through the same situation I went through. I threw the couch in the trash. Please do not rent anything from this company. 'Cause it's not new stuff. While I'm standing in there. They're taking couches and stuff right off their store room floor.

I always have remarkable customer service experience with Calvin the manager! I have been dealing with him for 20 years and have no complaints! I recommend Rent-a-Center in Marquette Michigan! The staff there is also very friendly.

They sold me furniture and it was broke so I returned them and they gave me loaners. A floor model. Been asking for my new furniture and they failed to give it too. They also went into my bank account and took out payments that were not authorized.

I had previously purchased a mattress and box spring set from Rent-A-Center in CA that lasted my husband & I 10+yrs - So when we were looking to replace our bed & $$$ was tight we once again turned to Rent-A-Center. We have since moved to TX & this new experience w/ Rent-A-Center is NOTHING like our previous one. While the sales staff were pleasant & accommodating each time went in to make our payments. HOWEVER, when we had a problem with the new mattress we purchased from the Wichita Falls TX store (merely 13 months after) *mind you I had paid it off early too. Wherein a spring broke on one side of the bed and caused a dip/gap type hole - I contacted the store first & was told there was nothing they could do to fix the"problem".
So I call Corporate & they contacted the District Manager who in turn called me & told me to contact Ashley Furniture. When I called AF they said since it was purchased thru RAC I had to deal w/ RAC. So I called Corporate AGAIN - who in turn put me in contact w/ the DM who finally called me back after 3 days & said "well our warranty with Ashley Furniture products is 12 months from the time we purchase it from them. So there really isn't anything we can do for you now. It's too late". Are you ** KIDDING ME!!! YOU Sure As Hell took your time getting Back to me with this information & now "CONVENIENTLY" Time is Up!!!! HOW THE HELL CAN YOU TELL ME A MATTRESS ONLY LASTS A YEAR!!!! TOTAL B.S.

Got a brand new double recliner, paid for six months up front, my next pay day was in December, got behind one week on payment, store employee called but I was out at the mall, my phone was low on batteries and the phone call got disconnected. The following day the employee called and we made an agreement to get all caught up on that Friday. After hanging up with employee, store manager called me and said the arrangement would not work due to I was rude and had hung up on another employee, I tried correcting her about her assumptions but she refused to listen, I asked to speak to a manager and she told me "I'm it, I'm the store manager for all stores in the Chesapeake area." I asked for her name and she stated "Charlie". I asked for her full name and she refused to give it to me.
She asked when I would be home to pick up furniture, I told her, "Not available until the weekend and I'm paying this Friday." "Charlie" stated, "No, Im not taking your payment, I'm scheduling a pick up." I reminded her that "this was my first time late and it was a WEEK late". On Friday I called and no one wanted to accept my payments, so I went online and paid for the whole month. The following day "Charlie" called and stated, "We can pick up the furniture today." I informed her, I had paid till the end of January, she went on to say, "I don't care, I'm calling for a pick up." At this time I was fed up with this woman and agreed to having the furniture picked up. That was January 4, I had paid till January 28. I got in contact with supervisor at headquarters, which told me "I couldn't get any refund and that I could use it as store credit on my next purchase." What makes this company think I would EVER deal with them again?! Rip off!!

At the beginning of my agreement around March of 2019 I had absolutely no issues at all! Loved the management team and everyone who worked there. If there was time where I would be late on a payment I could just let them know and they would make a note on the account and there would be no issue. Around November my store switched their whole management team. No big deal, until for some reason they decided to mess with my account. I switched jobs and the pay periods were off from my bi weekly schedule. I went into the store to have them switch my payments to bi weekly from a certain date. The girl was typing stuff on her computer and said everything was good to go. Little did I know she had not done anything to the account and my pay dates were still off and now I was recurring all these late fees.
I called the store and they said they now had fixed it. Fine. I go on my online account to pay and I see that I haves occurred late fees again and it wasn’t even my due date yet. It is now holiday season and I am management in retail in the mall. I’m working 13+ hours a day and am not allowed to have my phone on the sales floor. By the time I get off every day it’s well past 11pm and Rent-A-Center is closed. I’m 6 days “late” on my payment because I still haven’t had the time to call about all the late fees that shouldn’t be on my account. On the 6th day a guy by the name of Danny shows up at my house with a truck to pick up my furniture because I’m late on a payment. Mind you I have never had previous issues making payments.
Danny was extremely rude when he arrived and demanded that I pay him $52 now or he was entering my house and taking the furniture. I explain to him that they keep messing my account up and there were late fees on the account that shouldn’t have been there. He calls Deon and tells him that he (Danny) was looking on my account via the app and it states the account was due on the December 4th which was incorrect and that there needs to be a ticket opened on that. Deon still demands $52 saying that it will take me to the 28th of December which is when I said I would be able to pay the account. Danny stated that I should have answered my phone when he was calling. I explained to him that I work retail and it was the holiday season and I was working 13+ hours a day and am not allowed to be on my phone. I was not going to apologize for working and not answering a phone call.
Danny is still on the phone with Deon and Danny says “so if she pays the $52 now that will take her to the 28th correct?” And Deon says “correct”. Fine whatever. I pay 52 and ask him to leave my property. This happened on a Saturday. On Monday I get a call from rent-a-center on my way into work I answer because I’m confused on why they are calling me when the bill isn’t due until the 28th. Deon tells me that I am late on the payment because the $52 only took me to that day (Saturday). I told him since he misinformed me by lying because, he was on speakerphone when Danny asked if it would take me to the 28th and he said correct, that he would be paid on the 28th. He said that was not how this was going to work and I told him that it was 100% going to work like that. I am very upset and hung up with him.
I had my fiancé call the store to figure out what is going on because I was lied to. He asks to speak to the store manager and the SM says, "Okay since he misinformed you I will make the payment be due on the 28th." Awesome. The next day I get a call from Danny and he leaves a message saying that my account is past due. My fiancé again calls and says this is ridiculous as to him just speaking to the sm the precious day. There is 0 communication in that store.
The 28th comes and I go on my app to pay and guess what? There is reoccurring late fees that I am not paying because I am not late. I have had it with rent-a-center and their absolutely rude lying employees. I called them and told them to come pick their furniture up and I wanted nothing more to do with them. I am switching to Aaron’s. I also have a co worker who goes through the same rent-a-center and they are very unprofessional by calling the store phone by their personal phones. They call her and text her about her being late with their PERSONAL cell phone. So hell no I am not recommending this terrible place to anyone!!!!

So I paid for a bedroom set that said mattress included. It didn’t come with it and when I went in to see why they tried to charge me for it after the ad clearly said it was included. Then when it’s time to make my payments they tried to tax me separately for each item. So I gave a negative review of the store so tonight they called me upset about the review and want to know why I did that because it affects their money and their bonuses. So I said I’m coming in to pay my bill and the one lady Nicole wants to give me attitude so I said I would come back tomorrow and pay with someone else. Then she says have a nice day and I said I will and then some. If you are not concerned with me or my money. Then I will find someone else who is. Bad customer service.
In my line of work my guests are always right and even if there is a problem. My first thing to do is ask how can I make this right. Not give them attitude. If I can maybe I will pay online or so other way. Shame on the way I’m treated. If they don’t want my money someone else will. Last chance to rectify this problem before I move on.
