I purposely ordered an Emmons 6'3" Reclining Sofa so my feet wouldn't dangle and the head cushion would NOT be mid-neck, I'm 6' with back issues. Well, either fit the Sofa as my feet still dangle and the back cushion stops mid-neck. In addition, there is NO SUPPORT IN EITHER THE SEAT OR BACK CUSHION! I sink into the seat and there is a stabbing in the back, AND the armrest squeaks when I rest my arm. I ordered the Sofa, expensive, from a supposed QUALITY AMERICAN COMPANY. OUCH!

We ordered a couch, they delivered a model that was 4 years old that had been sitting in their warehouse. They wanted to charge us a restocking fee when their delivery person told us we should keep it till the new one comes. Then they tell us there would be an $1100 fee for their mistake. After using the couch for a few days till they picked it up, we discovered it was really uncomfortable the longer we sat on it. We wanted to cancel our order that is two months from being delivered. If we cancel, we have to pay $1600 for a “restocking fee” on something that has not even begun to be delivered. They are not the company they once were. There is better furniture out there, built far better than this stuff is. It’s not the company it once was. Run away from them and run away fast.

Order two identical chairs, fully loaded. One arrived damaged, not to mention they dropped the chair bringing into house. We had to talk to ‘warranty’ department. Told them I wanted new chair not to replace the side as the arms and material would not match. Said they couldn’t send new chair, have to handle as warranty. Received and replaced side (I wasn’t home) and it was 10 times worse than side replaced. Went to Ocala store and said I wanted new chair (they were not cheap and I should not have to deal with a ‘repair’ on a new chair). Talked to Chris, the manager, and a non-caring lady behind a glass window. Chris told me La Z Boy would never ship me a new chair. That is not their policy.

I send a letter and photos to Corporate, never heard a word from them. Received another ‘side replacement’ yesterday. Better than the last, but still not 100% matching of the other side. I have owned La z Boy chairs all my life as did my parents. It’s sad to see a company that has been so highly regarded turn into a company that doesn’t care how their product arrives and is not willing to do the right thing. Guess they have so many damaged items upon delivery that they would go out of business if that had to replace. Will have to live with this purchase, but will never do business with them again. Sad and disappointed, steer clear!

We went to the new store in Springfield, as we walked in, Michael greeted us. He listened to what I was looking for, reason for the need for a reclining chair. He did not try to oversell me, his primary focus was fit, comfortable and would the chair meet my needs. I got the perfect recliner and it is being delivered in a very timely fashion. Rob, the store manager, was great, very personable and polite. The young lady offered me a glass of water while I was waiting. I will return when I need additional furniture. Thank you. I am writing to express my formal dissatisfaction with a custom fabric manual swivel rocker recliner I recently purchased for approximately $1,800. Since delivery, the chair has made a loud banging noise whenever it is closed. I was not informed of this issue at the time of purchase, nor did the floor model in the store exhibit this sound. When I contacted support, a technician visited my home and claimed the noise is normal, referring to it as the "La-Z-Boy bang." I also visited the store to speak with the salesperson, but I received no assistance.

The subsequent explanation I received—that the noise is amplified by my wooden floors—is unacceptable. Had I been informed that this "bang" was a standard feature of your manual recliners, I would not have moved forward with the purchase. I am requesting a meaningful resolution to this matter, as the current noise level is intolerable for a premium product. I look forward to your prompt response. We bought a recliner lift chair from La-Z-Boy on October 30. On January 10 it malfunctioned including sparks when the item was unplugged with my 82 year old Parkinson's husband in it. Needed assistance to get him out. Called service and the salesman immediately. Service did not return the call Monday and when I got someone, we got the date of January 26th for service. The manager says he can't do anything - some manager! Serviceman said it was a factory error but may have the part in the shop and would get back to us. It's 2/2 and no response.

I call daily with NO response. BUYER, BEWARE! This is unsafe and I don't feel comfortable leaving him home alone in the chair. We bought it for comfort and ease, not to look at it laying open in the living room for a month. This is outrageous. Where's the pride in the products made by La-Z-Boy. There's only shame for lots of reasons. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE, ALL IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS. PROFITS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

I never thought I would be writing a poor La-Z-Boy review. I always thought they were supposed to be the gold standard. However, their poor business practices are indefensible. We needed a replacement bolt (the one that connects one sectional to another). If you know our model, there is only one possible bolt that would serve this purpose and can't cost more than 10 or 20 cents. Customer service happily offered to send us the bolt... After a month or two, we reached out to the Fairfield store to see where our part was, they said we needed to pay $75 for a tech to come out and $125 for labor just to identify the part. They would ship the part later.

After months of back and forth emails (16) and clear descriptions with several clear photographs from various angles and annotations to explain a quintessential piece of hardware that makes their furniture work (no ambiguity left), they still demanded a tech come out, and we cover the cost. I can afford the $200 and have moved on (I rigged up a DIY solution)... But this is a matter of principle and I won't sit silent and put up with businesses that don't have integrity. This approaches Trump-level-shit.

After looping in regional and corporate level slime, it has become clear that short-term revenue from nickel and diming -- would be lifetime customers -- is all a part of the business model. I mean, meeting next quarter's forecast is so much more appealing that long-term customer retention, right? La-Z-Boy has lost our family's business. I will evangelize this lesson from the highest mount and as loud as I can to all who are willing to listen till the day I die. All for ten cents... and so Taylor Luebke can hit target this quarter.

I am writing this review as I was a loyal La-Z-Boy customer. I still own 3 different sectionals. I purchased a sectional many years ago with a lifetime warranty on the fabric. Not knowing that the La-Z-Boy store I purchased this at, was a franchise owner store originally. La-Z-Boy then took over this store as a cooperation location now. They did not honor the paperwork that I had and unit underneath has our original order and name and we have the warranty. They need the original receipt paper work from original sale over 10 years ago. Even with all warranty documents and the warranty company is no longer in business will not help… from a reputable company and a loyal customer to this. I gave them the opportunity to correct this in anyway. They will not with a failing fabric and purchasing the warranty which they sold under a lifetime warranty is embarrassing..

We purchased a La-Z-Boy sectional for over $10,000, expecting premium quality and durability. Unfortunately, after just three months of normal use, the sofa is already falling apart. The fabric is showing significant wear and tearing, the piping has moved, and the overall structure does not reflect anything close to luxury craftsmanship. What’s even more frustrating is the response from the La-Z-Boy customer care department. We reached out promptly with photos and documentation, but the support we received was unhelpful and dismissive. There was no meaningful effort to resolve the issue, repair the product, or stand behind the price and brand. At this price point, basic durability and responsive customer service should be a given. Instead, we were left with a deteriorating sofa and no resolution. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I would strongly caution others before investing in a La-Z-Boy Boy product.

I always look to La-Z-Boy for quality products. That’s why I spend the extra money and get the big man chair so that I have a very dependable product. Started out, but I bought a power recliner rocker. When I was reclined, there’s a plastic pin that stopped it from rocking that kept breaking. They had no solution so they replaced the chair with a regular power wall hugger. It was working fine until it started doing a slight shift when it reclined. I called for repair and the local company was turning into a corporate office. So I waited and they came out looked at it ordered parts. A few brackets came and they put them in. The chair is totally unusable for about a month and a half now. After the repair, the chair is sitting tilted back like almost a semi reclined when it’s in a down position. There’s hardly any way to get out of the chair without climbing out of it. If I manually put the foot rest up and try to recline it hangs up pops freezes so basically it doesn’t recline.

They order part. The guy came out to fix it and the part had nothing to do with anything of the mechanics of the chair. It was basically the front wooden part nothing to deal with the mechanism. So he couldn’t do anything at that time he couldn’t adjust anything so they ordered more parts. Over the last week and a half. I’ve gotten two deliveries so I called for repair and now I’m waiting almost another three weeks before they can come out and fix it. So basically I’m going on 2 to 2 1/2 months of not being able to use the chair and I hurt my back getting out of it because I have no choice but to use it. The amount of money you spent on La-Z-Boy you’d expect their normal quality, but their standards have gone way down. I wouldn’t waste my money on a another La-Z-Boy I could probably save about $1000 by getting another brand.

Now it’s wait and see if these parts fix it or it can’t be fixed because of the damage that they’ve already caused it. Don’t waste your money. Get a regular care from another manufacturer. You’ll save a lot of money and probably do just as well if not better. Attached is the original receipt from the original purchase of the rocker recliner. The second receipt is the replacement because they could not fix the problems. The rocker recliner had.

First off I want to say,Shame on you La-z-boy! We spent a lot of money in your store for a couch, two recliners, coffee table, sofa table, two end tables, a rug and pillows. You were so accommodating when you were trying to make a sale and you succeeded and we were sold on your product. Especially with the life time guarantee pitch and lifting furniture up to show us how well your product was made. Ha My parents' furniture lasted a lifetime with five children raised on it. Of course we were taught to take care of our stuff. Anyway it’s just my husband and I. We purchased your product just two years ago and it’s already showing wear and tear. It took us several emails just to get a ticket #. Then the phone calls. Ridiculous!!! We were only needing a simple fix! Stuffing added to deflated parts on our item. Which is definitely a defect and should not have happened in such a short period of time.

You told us it would be another 500.00 to come repair a defect that should not have occurred in such little time. Our rug which we had you replace because the first one you delivered had picks all in it and the replacement continues to have picks coming out. We could have bought one from Lowe’s and not have this happen. Do better with first your product and second your customer service because it stinks. I would never recommend your product to anyone! Again shame on you!

AVOID!!! I purchased a chair and the padding was compressed after the 1 year warranty expired. I am a small person and paid for an extended warranty. I reported the issue and was told that I would have to pay for the new padding, which will be the same padding as what was original. If I pay this much for a chair I should be reasonably expect the padding to last longer than 1-1/2 years. Also, I bought another chair and it now needs the second repair within the 1 year mark.

Quality doesn’t seem to be a La-Z-Boy priority. I will NEVER purchase another La-Z-Boy item. The positive reviews must be from customers who haven’t had their furniture long. Perhaps if the customer service rep wasn’t so rude I wouldn’t be writing this but if the company doesn’t reverse its current mindset they deserve to go out of business.

We bought a leather recliner and fabric sectional about 8 weeks ago and we have been very disappointed in the quality. The back piece of the recliner was cut too large and would not securely attach to the back of the recliner. This should have been caught before it ever shipped as it was clearly an issue the quality control should have caught. One seat on the sectional sofa is “pilling” and looks bad. One of the USB ports was bad and had to be replaced. We paid about $12,000 for the two pieces and would not expect this quad from La-Z-Boy. They are fixing the issues but we don’t know how long we will be without the furniture. Very disappointed and not happy with our purchase.

My previous La-Z-Boy furniture lasted over 20 years due to good quality. When the design looked tired I replaced them with a La-Z-Boy Sleeper Sofa and Love Seat. Huge mistake. The sleeper sofa looks good, but makes a "farting" sound each time I sit on it. The Naples, FL store and Regional Customer Service were of no help as it was not a product defect. They may be correct, but it certainly is a DESIGN DEFECT. When I went back to the store the manager and I were able to replicate the sound on all sleeper sofas. Apparently the fabric rubs internally causing the disgusting sound when sitting. BEWARE!

A few months after my purchase, the seats on the sofa recliner starting to bulge. I immediately called the store to inform them what was happening to my sofa. The store sent out a representative to inspect the sofa. On 10/3/25, a representative from the store stopped by to inspect the sofa. He said he would order the necessary parts. I never heard from the rep again.

I have been calling to get updates, but no one can give me an update on the status of the parts. On 1/9/26, I personally went to the store since I was unable to get an update on the status of parts and repair of my sofa via phone. I spoke to the store rep and manager and they were no help at all. They said I had to call customer service, which was new to me because I have been dealing directly with the store rep, and they had not mentioned that to me before. And salesperson was nowhere in sight. They're only available for the sale and disappear after the sale.

Anyhow, I was informed the parts were ordered and should arrive next week. It has taken almost four months since my initial call and no one in the store seems to care. I was very unhappy and informed the store manager that they have poor customer service and there is no communication with the customers after the sale. I spent over $5,000 on the recliners and coffee tables. I will never buy anything from La-Z-Boy again! Poor furniture quality and horrible customer service! Beware and shop somewhere else.

Our experience with a custom kitchen table order from our local La-Z-Boy furniture store was so disappointing that we feel obligated to post this. Our order took 50% longer than promised. The documentation clearly said 6-8 weeks but it took 12 weeks before available and 9 days after that to be delivered. Almost all updates had to be pried out of store personnel, and even then, the information was inconsistent or vague. [NOTE: When I brought the 6-8 week custom order paperwork information to store personnel. They stated that applied to ‘…fabric upholstery and leather upholstery. That isn’t the eta for casegoods…’, however these differences aren’t defined in the paperwork.]

When final payment and delivery scheduled, they changed the scheduled time by four hours with a three-minute text notification, citing impending snow. The rushed delivery greatly inconvenienced my family as we had to adjust our plans to get back home. Of course, an item in the order was damaged and refused per the contract. With this refusal (on a Saturday), no one from La-Z-Boy contacted me. After five days (Wednesday). I had to call myself just to understand what was happening with the damaged item and the replacement process. You think this should have been done by EOB on Monday!

The worst part is that at no point did the store offer any meaningful customer service relief—not an apology, not a discount, not even acknowledgment of the inconvenience. For a place that advertises premium service and quality, this experience was anything but. I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere if you value reliability, communication, or basic respect for your time and money.

We bought a La-Z-Boy sofa from Van Drie Furniture store in Traverse City, Michigan. The in-store model was soft and comfortable. We ordered the same La-Z-Boy sofa, which is so hard and uncomfortable to sit on. Such a disappointment. We contacted both Van Drie Store and La-Z-Boy. Their suggestion put a bowling ball on the seat to break it in! They said the sofa had been on the store floor for 5 years and that is why it was comfortable, just give our new sofa time... unbelievable! We have now owned the sofa for about one year now and it is still hard and uncomfortable! We will never buy anything La-Z-Boy again!

Contacted the headquarters for a mechanical replacement part for my sofa guaranteed for the life of the furniture. Gave them photos and all the information I could find on and beneath the sofa. They have ghosted me even though I’ve called several times now. I am very disappointed with their follow-up. Calling and waiting on the line close to an hour is ridiculous! Calling the local store is useless, they tell you to call the headquarters and they can’t help you. I even offered to buy the part on Amazon as long as they reimbursed me to no avail. I’ve owned 4 recliners and a sectional (very overpriced), but no more. They offer great products, but are impossible to deal with. There is a complete lack of customer support. They will not accommodate or entertain my BBB complaint.

Fabric on both love seat and sofa is fraying. At purchase was advised that warranty covered all issues for 5 years. Now being advised fabric only covered for 1 year. I have to question the quality of fabric if only covered for 1 year.

I recently purchased a La-Z-Boy swivel rocker recliner (Trooper). It was used by a 200 lb senior citizen for about 6 months. It then began to disintegrate, at least 6 screws fell out, wood chips everywhere under the chair. I spent 2900 for a chair that lasted 6 months. I called the store I purchased from, they told me to call customer care. I schedule a service call. The technician told me that it had major components broken and appeared to be a factory quality control issue, the wrong screws were used for the left arm assembly and were completely stripped and that 1/3 of the chair had to be reconstructed including the entire rocker swivel base.

I refused repair and asked that the chair be replaced because it is under warranty and has failed within 6 months. I called the store back and the sales person told me that the chairs "are made to be repaired" which I thought was outrageous. They refused to replace the chair and will only repair it Bottom line the quality stinks. I will never buy another La-Z-Boy product. It is garbage.

Just the worst customer service you could ever hope for.... Never buy one and expect any service if it breaks, we have been dealing with this a year. We waited weeks to get our chair fixed and it was not fixed. Instead, they returned it in worse shape than it went out to them and the person over their customer service, her name is Valerie, she is the worst!!!! In fact, she is a do nothing. Joke!

3 month old VERY EXPENSIVE sofa with pilling and nap wear. Nap wear is covered under their 1 year warranty. Customer service told me to use a fabric shaver, and claimed that it would not harm the fabric. No other resolution offered. Repeated shaving over time can thin out the fibers or change the texture of the fabric. On high-friction areas (like seat cushions) repeated shaving may cause uneven wear or expose the backing fabric.

I purchased the La-Z-Boy Brookstone couch and recliner and when I received it on Saturday, the couch was hard. It was not the same as the showroom floor couch. It was a custom order. I paid 4500 for it and they’re telling me to give it some time to break it in. While I am only one person so what am I supposed to do to break this in? They said they do not take the furniture back. They don’t give you store credit toward something else. I thought La-Z-Boy was supposed to be a reputable company even the mattress stores let you try mattresses out for a length of time and you can return a mattress. I just don’t understand it and they’re not willing to do anything about it. Very, very disappointed in them.

Astor power recliner+ and 5 year warranty purchased on June 27, 2024. In February 2025 the seat began to sag to the point I could not use it due to backache and difficulty to exit from the chair. Service person arrived and placed 1” (soft) foam between the springs and bottom of seat’s foam. In August 2025 the seat sagged again. I was told it would cost $$ to repair as seat was only under warranty for 1 year. I explained a number of times it was repaired earlier but still will cost $$$! Technician returned on October 29, 2025. Realizing he already repaired the sagging seat problem which did not work and suggested I have him remove the soft seat foam and replace it with a higher density foam. I have received an estimate of $311.13 plus tax. For a chair costing just under $3000 I would expect decent quality. I cannot afford to RISK spending any more $$ to Lazboy and will put this one into storage.
