I own over $20,000.00 of La-Z-Boy furniture and all is well until service is required! 8 years ago I needed a spring replaced and made 3 attempts going in to the the store and had no relay. Fast forward, and now I need service on the electrical components of my chair, it’s out of warranty, and still no communication from La-Z-Boy. NO SUPPORT.

Purchase a LaZBoy chair which cost a small fortune. Most uncomfortable chair ever. Poorly made, arrived dirty and the custom fabric is already showing signs of usage after a few weeks. This is not what we expected. The quality is not worth the exaggerated price. The brand has lost its quality focus. I won't not recommend to anyone at this point. Customer service is also very disappointing. Buy something else. If I could give a zero star review, I would.

I bought an over $4000 loveseat from them and it was delivered damaged. I didn’t notice the damage until 30 minutes later. The console is stripped coming off and the table holder is loose. But the worst thing is it has several bad scuffs on the very back of seat. I never sit on it but my wife does that’s why I didn’t notice it. Called them immediately and they refused to fix it unless I paid them an extra $1250. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I would never deal with them again. They promise the world until they have your money and then nothing.

I've been a LZB owner since 2004 and have been thrilled with their products. I've never needed customer service, so imagine my surprise when I did. May 2024, I purchase a new sofa, ottoman and leather chair. In that one year, my chair has had two attempted repairs at home and two repairs at the warehouse. They've replaced the entire mechanism and the problems persist. I've asked for a replacement but was informed that's not an option. They have now had the chair more than seven weeks and respond to about every fifth email I send, then the update is we are waiting on a part. This is ridiculous and I'm so disappointed. At what point do they decide the chair is a lemon?! Sadly, this will be my last LZB purchase. They are throwing away a customer of 22 years with extremely poor customer service.

I purchased a La-Z-Boy chair for around $1,200, expecting quality that would match the brand’s reputation. Within just six months of normal use, the fabric has already begun to fail. The threads constantly pull, and I am literally having to trim them with scissors regularly just to keep them from looking worse. On top of that, the footrest appears to be very poorly constructed, almost like a bad stitching job, which is shocking for a chair at this price point.

What makes this even more frustrating is being told that none of this is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Fabric durability and basic construction should not be considered optional or require a separate protection plan—especially this soon after purchase. Instead of standing behind their product, I was redirected to La-Z-Boy's "limitations & warranty info, along with the third-party company (which handles the extended warranty), adding more hassle for something that should be straightforward. That response alone says a lot.

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and it has absolutely made me question whether La-Z-Boy is worth the investment. If this is the level of quality and support customers can expect, this will likely be our last purchase. Buyers beware—make sure you fully understand what is (and isn’t) covered, because it may not be what you expect.

We purchased 2 recliners. Since they were ordered, we didn’t receive them for a couple of months. About a week after the purchase, we received a call that we missed signing the agreement for the 36 month interest free financing. Upon reading the paperwork, there was a nearly $200 charge for activating the interest free loan. That was the first scam! Then they wanted us to purchase a warranty for about $400. We never purchase warranties. We were told that if we didn’t use the warranty, we could use it on future purchases. We purchased the warranty. It wasn’t worth the money. I consider this a scam also. Once we received them, it didn’t take long before we started noticing the poor quality and workmanship. Probably why they want you to purchase the warranty.

I tried contacting customer service for over 3 weeks. When you call the number, you get a recorded message from Yolanda who stated she’d get back with you within 48 hours. Only after I called the store and complained that Yolanda finally called me. She was quite rude and acted as if I’d interrupted her day. They finally sent a repairman to our home who said it needed to be oiled. The chairs creak and squeak and sound as if they’re falling apart. The roller that leans the chairs back bump and pop, once again, sounds horrible.

After that failure, they sent the guy back out again. Another failure. They finally took one of the chairs to the shop twice, each time claiming there was nothing wrong. Also they were never in any hurry to send out a repairman or to take the chair into the shop. I had to wait 10-14 days each time. I might also add that I wrote the CEO of the company which was the only way they took the chair in for repair. While she responded to me the first time, she failed to respond to my second letter. La-Z-Boy is NOT the same company that it used to be. I have 20 year old La-Z-Boy recliners in better shape that the 2 we purchased to replace them last year. I am extremely disappointed in everything about this purchase and feel totally scammed by this entire process. I DO NOT RECOMMEND La-Z-Boy or their products. Total scam! Take your business elsewhere. A complete 0 stars for a rating.

Paid 3600 dollars for a "James" recliner sofa at Pleasant Hill CA. Within a few months, we noticed the backs were flat and causing us shoulder and neck pain. The sofa was styled very differently from the showcase model at the store, which was fluffy and had a cushion shape like a smile. Reached out to corporate headquarters, and they sent a furniture handyman out to recushion one of the 3 back cushions, but said he was paid to do just one. The store manager reached out to me after a bad Yelp review and said she wanted to help, but then argued that comfort is "subjective" and said that our warranty only covers defective or broken items, so basically just contacted me to waste my time. Will a BBB complaint help? How do you deal with a dishonest business like La-Z-Boy?

When I walked into the store, Malcolm Dubose greeted me and asked what I was interested in. He found the perfect fabric for the chairs I wanted and then helped my autistic son pick out what he wanted for his space. He spent a lot of time having him try different cushion comforts. It is not everyday that you find someone willing to spend so much time helping an autistic person find furniture that he is really going to enjoy. I am so happy he was there and helped us find the perfect furniture for us. If I should need more furniture, I would go back to La-z-Boy and have Malcolm help us again.

David Hampl and I worked out a deal for another chair. I am satisfied with the outcome.

    Original Review: April 17, 2026

11 days ago I wanted to order an in stock recliner for the total price of $1122 (including tax, delivery and protection plan). But the sales manager talked me into an electric version with similar fabric for a total price of $2720 delivered in FOUR to 8 weeks. I knew I was paying too much but I figured I could count on the La-Z-Boy Company to treat their customers right. Boy was I wrong!

Today I get an email saying the fabric is out of stock and my delivery will be delayed by 4 months from today. I talk to the manager but they won’t let me have the $1100 dollar chair that I originally wanted unless I buy $1600 more furniture from them. NO REFUNDS. STORE CREDIT ONLY. Or I can go in and pick a different fabric and restart the 8 week process. Who knows if that fabric will be in stock. BUYER BEWARE! This place is run like an old fashioned used car dealer. The manager Rob had the nerve to tell me that the manufacture of my chair had already begun. Wow! Like they’re going to let a partially manufactured chair sit at the manufacturing plant for 4 months waiting for new fabric to come from China. One more thing! They won’t take away your 5 year old worn out La-Z-Boy recliner, so prepare to call Goodwill or the trash company.

I ordered and purchased my leather couch in 2005. I recently noticed that the leather is coming apart in the seams with noticeable cracks in the leather itself in those areas. I live alone and am the only one who ever uses the couch. I called the furniture store where I had purchased it and they said they would contact La-Z-Boy to see what could be done to remedy the situation. They called me today to inform me that while La-Z-Boy does have my leather in stock, they only guarantee the leather for one year and I would have to pay La-Z-Boy $900 to repair it. I’ve decided that I will not spend a further dollar on an inferior product, since there is no guarantee that the same thing won’t happen again. Instead, I will replace the couch with a quality product, NOT a La-Z-Boy, and either donate or throw the La-Z-Boy I have in the trash.

Was concerned about purchasing a couch and recliner from La-Z-Boy. The reviews are not great and it is definitely not the trusted company it used to be. We have had the furniture all of 4 months. Material on couch is shredding and fading already. The padding on the reclining part is not thick at all and you can feel the wood underneath. It's crap furniture. We have money and I should have gone with my gut and gone to a store with well built furniture. We tried to save a little money. The furniture is garbage, the company has truly degraded into a cheap expensive piece of furniture outlet. It's our fault, but I wanted to warn others. The furniture is cheap, not well made at and the fabric looks like shit after only 4 months.

I purchased a leather power recliner from LA-Z-BOY, Melbourne, FL for quite high price tag, but due to health issues I need something that will last and serve me well. I also added 5 year extended warranty to soothe my mind. Well, at 14 mos I noticed that there were serious defects. There were tears where leather joined the base of the chair under the arm rest, nicks in leather, Color wiped off back after rubbing against the wall Leather wearing away from front of armrest at front on BOTH sides. and a weird noise was coming from below. I was directed by them to call waranty company (ServeCo), Jonathan, the only person who can attest to all the issues we found....he's been out 3 times now has taken numerous pix and even video-taped the chair to capture that noise and was taking all this back to his boss. Their claims department decided they would NOT replace/repair anything more than 1 arm and I would have to pay for the rest.

Furious I returned to store and spoke to Manager who assured me he would reach out to them to straighten out problem and advise. After no contact back, I was so disgusted I called "Corporate Office". That was the real turning point. After a lengthy conversation explaining all the issues with this chair and that REAL leather does not behave this way.....so I would really appreciate they replace the entire chair. La-Z-Boy absolutely refused!! Finally decided they will replace right and left arms and 'investigate what the noise'. So this is my point to consumers - DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM LA-Z-BOY - they are making an inferior product at best and care not an iota about Customer Service.

We bought our leather, La-Z-Boy, motorized, swivel recliner two years ago. The model we wanted was not available at the time so we ordered it from the factory with a wait of six months before it could be delivered. That started off bad already. After only a year and four months of use the back started peeling so badly the so-called "leather" is way off the original color. We submitted pictures and videos as requested by the La-Z-Boy company. We bought the extended warranty which was very expensive. The bottom line is that La-Z-Boy declined/denied the warranty claim and would not fix the problem. We are stuck with an ugly, fast deteriorating chair for which, we paid nearly $3,000 on sale! We can't wait to get rid of it!

We purchased a La-Z-Boy sofa as we only purchased our furniture for our home and my daughter’s home from La-Z-Boy. The couch was delivered the end of November. We were then away. In January one of the cushions felt like it was sinking. We called up. They came and they said there was something wrong with the cushion. They ordered a new one. It was delivered. I had tried three times and left my phone number to have customer service call me. Today so far I’m on the phone 45 minutes and I even called another state to see if they could help me and I called the store where I purchased it in CarPlay, New York to see if they could help me. With a brand new couch they should be replacing it and when I asked if that could be done, I was told by customer service when I put in my first call that I would have to pay a percentage to get a new couch and delivery and it was a high percentage. Again this is a brand new couch.

This couch is in my den. The two people who sit on it are in their 70s and not heavy at all. We are horrified by the customer service. I am now hanging up again. Have to be on on hold another 10 minutes. And that’s just today’s call. The funny thing is each time I call they tell me I’m next in line and then 25 minutes later I’m still next in line. I’m guessing that nobody works in customer service anymore. This is a brand new couch that should be replaced because of that cushion had something wrong with it then it means the other stool will be going soon also because it must’ve come from the same lot. Order two identical chairs, fully loaded. One arrived damaged, not to mention they dropped the chair bringing into house. We had to talk to ‘warranty’ department. Told them I wanted new chair not to replace the side as the arms and material would not match. Said they couldn’t send new chair, have to handle as warranty. Received and replaced side (I wasn’t home) and it was 10 times worse than side replaced. Went to Ocala store and said I wanted new chair (they were not cheap and I should not have to deal with a ‘repair’ on a new chair). Talked to Chris, the manager, and a non-caring lady behind a glass window. Chris told me La Z Boy would never ship me a new chair. That is not their policy.

I send a letter and photos to Corporate, never heard a word from them. Received another ‘side replacement’ yesterday. Better than the last, but still not 100% matching of the other side. I have owned La z Boy chairs all my life as did my parents. It’s sad to see a company that has been so highly regarded turn into a company that doesn’t care how their product arrives and is not willing to do the right thing. Guess they have so many damaged items upon delivery that they would go out of business if that had to replace. Will have to live with this purchase, but will never do business with them again. I am writing to express my formal dissatisfaction with a custom fabric manual swivel rocker recliner I recently purchased for approximately $1,800. Since delivery, the chair has made a loud banging noise whenever it is closed. I was not informed of this issue at the time of purchase, nor did the floor model in the store exhibit this sound. When I contacted support, a technician visited my home and claimed the noise is normal, referring to it as the "La-Z-Boy bang." I also visited the store to speak with the salesperson, but I received no assistance.

The subsequent explanation I received—that the noise is amplified by my wooden floors—is unacceptable. Had I been informed that this "bang" was a standard feature of your manual recliners, I would not have moved forward with the purchase. I am requesting a meaningful resolution to this matter, as the current noise level is intolerable for a premium product. I look forward to your prompt response.
