I am sharing a review on this site since Crate and Barrel moderated my review and would not post it. I purchased the Avondale sectional back in January with the expectation that it would be delivered in August. This was understandable at the time due to supply chain issues. August arrived, and a damaged sofa was delivered (cracked leg and tear in fabric). The sofa was put back on the delivery truck. The Crate and Barrel customer service rep I spoke with seemed to be on top of re-ordering the sofa for us. We got a new delivery date of September, which had to be rescheduled for October due to a hurricane. No one showed up on the October delivery date. I called the delivery company to inquire and they informed me that the sofa was damaged and the delivery had been canceled. I called a local Crate and Barrel store for a status update (which was helpful since every time I called Crate and Barrel customer service, they couldn't give me any info).
It turned out they were delivering a temporary sofa to us. This was a frustrating surprise. No one mentioned a temporary sofa to us. This seemed like a waste of time and resources if we didn't want or need a temporary sofa. It also turned out that the Crate and Barrel rep who originally helped me return the damaged sofa never placed the order for our replacement sofa!!! At this point in time (October), I was being told that our sofa would be delivered in February. After two damaged sofas, very disappointing customer service and communication, and having to wait over a year for a sofa, I decided to ask for a full refund, which they gave me.
I will say that the sales rep at one of the local stores was very transparent about what had happened, which I appreciated. The store rep told me they would send me a small Crate and Barrel gift card to all of this inconvenience, but I never received it! This has been extremely disappointing for someone who has shopped at Crate and Barrel for years.

Extremely long wait, longer than they say, and poor service. Bought two sleep sofas in May and was told up to 6 months for delivery. Bought because having company at Christmas. In these 6 months, they have no idea where your furniture is or when it might be finished (comes from China?), and they can't give you an update. I find this appalling - it's a furniture company - how can they not know the status of your furniture?
I finally get the call that my furniture is ready for delivery (after the full 6 months) - to their warehouse in the US (I'm in Canada, bought on the Canadian site). When they say "6 months delivery" they mean to them, not you. From there it's another 4 weeks to get to Canada (and another $700 per sleeper added on later for this privilege), and another 2 weeks to get a delivery company in my city to get to me. I won't get my furniture until earliest the end of the year. Too late.
I ordered May 28 for 6 month delivery, and their next projected date for delivery to me is Dec 27. I ended up going to Ikea and buying two sleeper sofas to accommodate Christmas guests - now I will be stuck with 2 overpriced sleeper sofas. There is of course NO WAY to cancel the 'bespoke' order no matter how bad their service. I don't know why someone would put up with that level of service. Oh - also - no way to leave a bad review on their site. In the meantime spoken to some designer friends and find that they don't buy from C&B for this very reason. Expensive lesson learned.

I'm posting this here because C&B "moderated" my review, meaning they refused to publish it on their website as written. C&B provided legal language as to the reason citing the review must be about the product and its use. This is ironic given I cannot use the product because it is damaged and I cannot get a new product to use because of their vendor and delivery issues.
The Calypso cabinet is beautiful. It arrived with broken glass and misaligned drawers and cabinet doors. This has resulted in 4 additional failed deliveries over the course of >3 weeks and several phone calls to C&B customer service. The delivery issues are ridiculous (2nd attempt-delivery company no showed, 3rd attempt-delivery company showed up but without enough movers to pick up damaged piece and drop off replacement, 4th attempt-no showed for the second time. I even called C&B on the delivery day to confirm it would arrive given the issues, and yet the delivery company still no showed again. I was told by the C&B customer service rep that on this delivery (unlike all others) they could not give me a window and I would need to be home all day. During this call, the rep was rude, antagonist, and unhelpful and hung up on me.
To note, all other customer service reps were great. C&B refunded the delivery fee after the 2nd failed delivery, which I appreciate, however this hardly compensates for the time and frustration of this experience. I have had to follow-up in every instance of failed deliveries versus C&B or the delivery company leading resolution. At time of writing this review, the damaged piece has not been picked up nor do I know when this will occur. I am requesting a refund and again requesting the damaged piece be picked up. I do not want to give my business to a company who operates this way, including "moderating" honest reviews.

I placed an order on Nov. 12, 2022 and was advised it would arrive between Nov. 16 -19. The next day showed arrival would be Nov. 19 - 21. The next day stated it would be Nov. 20 - 22. The next day it would be Nov. 24 -26. On Nov. 20 I received an email that the item had been shipped by FedEx along with a tracking #. The next day, Nov. 21 I entered the tracking # which showed the information was sent to FedEx but the item had not been receive by them. My Credit Card was charged the following day after the order was placed. As of this Date Nov. 21, 2022 (9 days later) I still don't know when or if I will receive my order. All they have done is lied about the order over & over. if there was a rating less than 1 they would get it from me.

Worst buying experience. I would not recommend this company. Bought Dresser and side tables. Put purchase on Credit Card for the rewards. A couple weeks after purchasing we were notified the order was delayed more than once. When the order was shipped, one side table was damaged and had another customers name on it. Dresser showed up damaged, loose handles, dust and dirt in the drawers. They sent out a new one, again damaged. Finally ended up with an acceptable product. The rewards program is terrible, not allowing you to have more time to use your rewards, especially given their supply chain issues. You have to move mountains to get them restored.
After literally hours on the phone, chat, email etc... they restored part of the rewards and issued a partial refund. Almost not worth it, considering the time wasted fighting for this. One agent (part of the leadership team) was rude and questioned me as if she didn't believe me when I said I decided to keep the side table, even though it was damaged (this was negotiated with a customer service agent). I have bought from Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn and haven't had an experience like this. For what they charge for their products, I expected higher quality products and service. Never again! I should add, this buying experience in the store was good, everything after went downhill. Quickly took my money and didn't end up with all pieces for a year.

Purchased a set of dishes. When we unpacked the boxes, 2 plates had chips. Called within 2 hours of purchase and was advised we had to return the chipped plates before a refund would be issued. The company would not accept photo evidence. Plates cost $11. But mileage cost to return would be more. Thus, no refund. Beware of shopping at Crate & Barrel.

I have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Crate & Barrel throughout the years. I have continued to purchase due to the great quality. This is the first time I have had issues with a product. The issue is with our king sized bed frame, the supporting beam in the middle holding up the mattress broke after 3 years after purchase. We investigated why it happened & found that the post that supports the middle was loose and not glued in when installed by the company. It’s just a block that can spin & fall out at any moment while cleaning.
We are very upset after spending a lot of money on the bed frame we love. We contacted the company & they were happy to help & said, “we stand by our products.” After I explained what happened they told me there wasn’t much they could do for us since the bed was discontinued. Now we have a full bedroom set with our bed on the floor. We are very disappointed there wasn’t a solution to our problem. Please consider fixing bed frame structure to avoid this type of problem in the future.

So incredibly frustrated with Crate and Barrel as an order placed 1.5 months ago has been constantly pushed back again and again and is now showing mid-Nov availability in my order. However I can go to the website and it shows that it is available for immediate shipping. Customer service is useless as they parrot the line that orders are fulfilled as they come in and they don't seem to understand why it's weird that new orders are shipping now while old orders sit. Terrible experience, terrible service.

Extremely disappointed in Crate and Barrel's after sales “service”. Fully furnished my condo from Crate and Barrel - items indicated available are pulled from delivery last minute, delivery cancelled last minute, and some items actually delivered are damaged. Countless hours spent on the phone to customer “service” and still no resolutions. Recommend Crate and Barrel? A hard no for me.

Bought a couch in the beginning May. Standard sizes and Crate & Barrel proprietary fabric. They said it would take 16 weeks (which is ridiculous to begin with). Then they constantly push it back. Nothing one can do. 5 months later and they don’t have a clue when it will be shipped, which I’m told can take up to another two weeks beyond their “ready for delivery notification” and we are still without a couch. Never again!

We are pleased with the quality of our Crate and Barrel "Tate" bedroom pieces consisting of a queen bed, two different dressers, two nightstands, and a bench. The set is beautiful and well made. The finish, clean design, and precision operation of the drawers on this quality made furniture is fantastic. I would, without hesitation, give C&B a five star review had the delivery process been better and quicker. We ordered everything in January of this year. In June, they delivered the nightstands, one dresser that was damaged, and the bed with damaged side rails. The damaged dresser and bed rails were not accepted.
I contacted C&B and customer service seemed responsive and professional. They told me the missing and damaged items would be set up for a second delivery. Since the bed was not complete without side rails, we slept on a floor based mattress and had nothing but nightstands for storage while we made do without a complete bedroom until the second delivery, now scheduled for mid August. When the second delivery arrived, the rest of the items all arrived except the bedrails. The bedrails were initially listed on the delivery, but were removed from the list without notice on the date of this "final" delivery. Everything else arrived intact and nothing was damaged this time.
I called customer service as soon as the delivery truck departed our home; I was not pleased, since this meant we would have to continue sleeping on a floor based mattress without a complete bed. The customer service rep was great, had great people skills, was sympathetic and he immediately set up the soonest available date for a third and final delivery scheduled for only 12 days later. On August 31, over eight months from placing the order, everything had finally arrived without further incident.
To be fair, the customer service rep had told me that Crate and Barrel was catching up and improving the delayed delivery problems following worldwide shipping and supply issues, so maybe things are better now. We would like to purchase one more item for our bedroom; however, we are somewhat reluctant to purchase anymore furniture concerned that it will arrive late and damaged. If you are not in a hurry, willing to wait and make yourself available for numerous delivery dates, then Crate and Barrel is definitely an option for quality furniture.

All orders, at least in my experience are very slow to arrive. I've had two that I canceled since it was taking so long.. This round I ordered a KitchenAid 5 qt mixer and it's been 13 days - today it was to arrive, it was on the fed/ex truck since 7:25 this morning. At 7:00 tonight I call C&B and the rep called fed/ex and they said for sure tonight it will be here. As soon as we hung up, fed/ex changed the shipping to an exception, customer not home, when I'm here and they did not attempt the delivery. So this is really a complaint on C&B and Fed/EX. They use fed/ex home and they clearly are not honest. Again a gift not arrived on time, no more business from me with C&B.

Please take time to read the reviews here regarding furniture orders and refund your furniture before they can come up with reasons to delay your refund. This means do it as soon as possible before status becomes: "ready to ship" or "preparing." I was really really hoping the following... "This is a big company right? These reviews must be biased from a minority of angry client cases right?" I was wrong. The bad reviews here are very true. Do not expect to get your furniture on time. Even when it says "Out for delivery," (again read other reviews as well), you will not get your furniture.
When I call customer service, they are actually very professional but... sadly... "All talk no action" is what the result of all that is. All talk. No action. I called about my "Out for delivery" order several times. Was told all kinds of things that are nice to hear such as "I have talked to the dispatch team... I have contacted the delivery team... and they are going to bring your furniture today." Nope. You will be asked to reschedule. Please trust your gut instinct. I know it is a big company. I know that review sites can be biased by negative reviews. But... this is real. Refund when you still can!

UPDATE: Great customer service. They reached out immediately and helped us receive the remaining of our rewards. Thank you for that Crate and Barrel.

Don't be fooled by their marketing tricks! We were lured into getting their credit card for the 10% rewards. We spent more than $5000 and received $500 in rewards only to learn that we lost more than $250 of the rewards money because we didn't read the tiny print at the bottom. We were supposed to spend all the reward money at once and apparently forfeited the rest of the amount. I am so disappointed in the deceitful practices of Crate and Barrel's credit card.

I purchased the “Verge” sideboard in January, 2022. The item was back ordered so I patiently waited until July, 2022 for delivery. After scheduling the delivery and taking off work, the piece was badly damaged upon arrival to my home. I was told I could not use the item as a loaner because it was “hazardous” and had to be brought back to the warehouse. I contacted customer service to schedule delivery for a replacement and I was told I would have to wait at least until November when the item would be back in stock. The customer service agent had zero sympathy for the delay and for the fact that my tv would be sitting on the floor for the remainder of the year without the furniture I already paid for.
Her solution to the issue was “just order something else that’s already in stock”. She was very rude and argumentative. She also told me I wasn’t being “fair” to other customers by asking if I could have a replacement sent from the next batch of orders. I ended up canceling my order and I’m still waiting for my refund to be processed. I have since gone on the Crate and Barrel site to review the sideboard. I wrote “the item was poor quality construction and not worth the wait”. I gave the product one star. Crate and Barrel emailed me saying my review has been moderated and will not be make public because it doesn’t relate to the product or its use. Terrible experience overall and I would not recommend purchasing anything if you’d like it within the year.

All registries on the Crate and Barrel website automatically include Crate and Barrel gift cards as a registry item which says that the registrant welcomes gift cards, with no option to remove this item. My fiancee and I do not want gift cards and don't want our guests thinking we put them on our registry. We contacted the Crate and Barrel customer service email to remove this item and they refused, falsely claiming they were unable to do so because of "proprietary software." Only after I specifically requested it did they claim to have asked someone outside the customer service department, at which point the answer changed to them being unwilling to remove it as their policy.
They also refused to refund any gift cards bought from the registry, and were generally dismissive and passively insulting throughout the exchange, interleaving blunt refusals to help with corporate jargon like "It is not our intent to defraud you" and "We understand your disappointment and are happy to help." I would avoid them at all costs.

Back in March, I ordered a kitchen table online from C&B. The customer service indicated a delay of 8 weeks (understandable given the supply chain issues in the world at the time). After saying the table would arrive every day for 6 weeks when we called, when it finally arrived it was broken and not usable. The loading rep tried to not open the box to check the condition (box looked like it had been destroyed from outside and he/she knew it was damaged but didn't seem to care).
After not accepting the table, the company indicated they could deliver a replacement in September (3 months from now) and offered no compensation or support. Not only was it a horrible experience but the customer service team was not helpful, provided inaccurate information almost daily and gave no solutions/compensation for errors that were completely their fault. Safe to say we will never buy from C&B ever again and I hope others do not as well. Worst experience of all time from start to finish!

If you really don't want to receive your furniture in a timely manner and want to take the time to constantly reach out to Crate and Barrel customer service like it's a full time job, by all means purchase your furniture from here. Oh and if you want to get your stuff delivered, you might have to mention you want all of the pieces of the furniture at once.
Where to begin: I purchased a sectional and a rug from here in early July and was told an ETA delivery time of mid Nov. Then later I added an in stock table to my order and asked if they were able to deliver the in stock items to me and waive the delivery fee, and they said they could. How nice of them (they still charged me). Not only that, the first delivery attempt was for the rug and table in Mid December 2021 and only the rug showed up! I had to call Crate and Barrel and ask them what happened. Apparently the table didn't arrive to the warehouse in time from California (sadly it's still on its way according to them. It's 3/23/2022 as I'm writing this). I could have walked my table to here by now.
They told me to reschedule my delivery for the next available date, 3 weeks out in early January 2022, so I did! Turns out, the table still failed to arrive to the Seattle warehouse so delivery attempt # 2 failed. Once again, they said to schedule it out for the next possible date, another 3 weeks out (Late January 2022). Fortunately for me, my couch became available to book for delivery with the table for late January 2022, so I booked it too! When the delivery date came, I received 2/3 pieces of my couch and NO TABLE. I once again reached out to Crate and Barrel, and they said it didn't get to the warehouse, oh and the warehouse marked ALL the pieces of my couch delivered. Because of that, Crate and Barrel had to "return" my missing couch piece and reorder it, which booted me to the back of the line, for THEIR mistake.
The "estimated availability" date for my couch is showing up as Mid May (keep in mind this has been a rolling estimate date for months). Well, since all the items in my order was once available, I have gone from paying for a deposit to the full order amount, without receiving any full furniture pieces (except the rug). Well, at least I can get my Table scheduled for delivery AGAIN this time for early February (no 3 week wait, someone smart must have cancelled their order). Well, the delivery date rolls around and not to my surprise, its not available still. How funny, if you've lost count this is the fourth failed delivery attempt. I guess I'll call them again and get it scheduled again.
The next available date was 3 weeks out for early March 2022 and add it to the failed tally. So they scheduled me for another 3 weeks out, which brings me to this Friday 3/25 I ended up already rescheduling this delivery because they were planning on delivering only the base of the table. My current folding table is more useful than that. So now I've scheduled it for another 23 days out with the hopes that maybe, just maybe Crate and Barrel can deliver for once. If you've made it this far, thank you and I hope you've learned from my mistakes. I should also add, they try to charge me for these failed deliveries too, it's so sad. They also promise discounts on top of existing discounts, but don't actually do it. MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR A DETAILED INVOICE. So here I am 7k+ in the hole for parts of a couch and no table.
TLDR: I placed my order July 2021 and my stuff still isn't here. They've delivered parts of full furniture items and not even the full item. The logistics at this company is absolute trash, and I'm on delivery attempt number 7 and actual delivery attempts, like the warehouse calls me to confirm and everything. It's all just really sad.

Good Afternoon Crate and Barrel. I am writing this E-Mail to express my utter disappointment and regret regarding my Crate and Barrel sofa Order # - **. As this Email and those corresponding with it indicate, an part of a sectional sofa was erroneously delivered to my residence. Numerous inquiries by phone and Email were made however no explanation or admission of any findings were communicated to me. I was instructed to provide photos of order tags that were inside the incorrect couch to assist in this matter yet again, I’ve gotten no response.
I also received an additional E-mail requesting I take pictures of the packing labels to help one of the managers at the vendor stating “that if they see that they were labeled incorrectly by the vendor, they may be able to expedite the production” and that “They are still in the process of seeing if they can locate the correct sofa if in fact it was created and sent there.” These packing labels were taken away by the delivery team. I do not have them. Surely Crate and Barrel must have some documentation on file showing the packing labels. I cannot understand why the burden is placed on myself to provide documentation that should readily be on file? Surely some more information must have been gathered at this point and could have been communicated?
Once again, I have not gotten a response to that query. At this time it is my understanding that a new order had been placed (without my consent) with a new delivery date of August of 2022. That is approximately one year to the original order date of September of 2021. This is unequivocally unacceptable. In addition it does not resolve the question of the whereabouts of the original order. It is troubling that quality assurance and control measures were seemingly not in effect with this order. Although compensation has been mentioned, it has been vague and noncommittal and offered only after the delivery of the new couch has been made. This matter has already cost me the unexpected loss of time off from work and wages, plus precious time involved in email and telephone exchanges with various customer service representatives.
It has also taken away my confidence and trust in the integrity of the Crate and Barrel brand. This entire experience has failed to meet my expectations as promise by the company. At this time I am asking for an immediate full and complete refund on this order. I have already paid in full and I expect reimbursement for failure to live up to your end of the contract. I will be contacting the Crate and Barrel offices as well with regard to this matter. Robert **.

I ordered a bed frame from Crate & Barrel a few weeks ago. I was called to set up a delivery for 3/1/22 from 12:00-6:00. I waited 6 hours and nobody ever arrived. I contacted Customer Service at Crate & Barrel. I was advised because the vendor was delivering through a 3rd party they did not have much control over the delay. I requested the contact information for the vendor because the phone number I had for the vendor went to a recorded line. Crate & Barrel tell me they have limited information and will try to check into for me. I receive a call back stating I need to wait an additional 72 hours to find out the cause of the delay. I asked detailed questions as to what contributed to the delay, why was I not contacted there would not be a delay, and requested the 3rd party vendor information again so I could talk to them directly. I was only told I need to wait 72 hours and if I do not hear anything, then follow up with Crate & Barrel on Monday.
Nobody wanted to provide with a reason for the delay. I searched for a contact number for the 3rd party vendor myself, spoke with them, and found out there was a weather delay. I inquired why wasn't I notified of this. The customer should be notified and not have to do all of the guesswork. The vendor said it was due to their computer systems and other orders being backed up. I have a tracking number and still have to wait until Monday to see if things get moving to reschedule another delivery. The vendor said Crate & Barrel should have provided me their contact information. Crate & Barrel blamed the 3rd party vendor. All in all this has been a very bad experience. At this point, I just want my bed to arrive. Whether or not, I will every buy from Crate & Barrel remains to be seen. They have not lived up to solving this issue and should have available contact information for 3rd party vendors.

I paid cash for a product which was not used and returned in an unopened box 2 weeks later with the receipt. Since I paid cash, the store only gave me $100 of the $218.70 back and promised to mail the rest or I could get store credit. They claimed having no money. With mail fraud on the rise I asked the associate to ask the manager to override the policy one time as I also made a special trip to the store to return the item. The manager refused and didn't bother to speak to me. The associate held up 2 $50's and 1 $100 bill and said how would you like your $100 back? It was there they just wouldn't give it to me. They were closing for the night (another associate locking the doors) so the funds weren't needed for other customers. It's amazing to me that a company could hold a person's funds hostage like that especially when they paid cash. Last time I patronage this store.

I ordered 10k in furniture in May 2021. My custom order couch was ready as well as all my other furniture in November. I scheduled my entire order for delivery in January. I go to check on my delivery to make sure it is still scheduled and I find out that my custom couch is no longer being delivered. I called the company. They tell me that earlier in December, it got water damaged and I will have to wait all over again. This order already took me seven months to wait for (not including delivery) and now you are telling me that I have to wait (at the end of the line) all over again. I am so upset that they treat their customers like this.
They told me the vendor won't expedite the order. That seems asinine and a terrible way to conduct business considering my couch that was ready is now damaged and I pay the price. They have had the entire payment since May 2021 and now they want to hold onto it again for months and months again. I was calling for a defect item. I was transferred 4 times, and the line was disconnected twice, and I had been waiting online for more than 40 mins. Finally I was connected to this customer care. She was impatient and didn't listen to my concerns at all. My concern is that I spent $400 to install the light to the ceiling and I was reluctant to return it, because I will lose $400 for nothing. I was asking if there is other solutions. She said, "Because you already install it, you can't return it!!!" I said that I can't tell it is defect (the pendant is not symmetrical) until it was installed. I don't want to wait my time anymore, so I just said, "Ok whatever" and then I disconnect my call. Unbelievable, this woman called me back with her personal phone and yelled at me! Don't **. What a moron!

I tried to stop the order but customer service could not get Fed Ex on the phone so they said they had to ship it to Hawaii but not to worry. I could send it back for free and get my money back. My mother tried to send one box and it was over $80.
I called customer service and got Janet E at 3:40pm on Dec 14. She said that Crate and Barrel would do me a favor and refund one box but not the other. I told her the other box was heavier and I if I shipped it it would be more than my products. Janet said that this was my fault and they would not help me with the 2nd box. I am looking for a total refund on my order. Order # **. I called back and the customer rep said she would help me but then she saw Janet’s name and said Janet was above her. Her supervisor also agreed with Janet. This service is ridiculous. Two days they couldn't resolve the problem with my order, which was placed two weeks ago. Tonight after one frustrating chat with their customer support online, she clearly disconnected me after getting my info. I decided to try one more time. Woah what a nasty experience. Started my chat, the gal on the other end was slow, ok, no big deal. Then I said I just got disconnected, I hope this doesn't happen again, she apologized, and said "I need to read the conversation". I told her I don't think there's any, this is a new chat. Does she need the order info. She came back after 3mins, telling me "I have to read the conversation, or you need to repeat it, your choice". My choice?? Sounds like she has an attitude. So I said I don't want to play any games, I need to get this resolved this time. Nothing.
After 3mins, came back, asked for order number, and address. (Thought she said "she needed to read the conversation to find those") Anyways, nothing after that. So I asked "verified?" She came back telling me "give me a moment. I'm helping another customer"...Hmm...so all this time she is probably multitasking and she's not very good at it. I feel that she definitely prioritizes the other customer than me. So I told her this is unprofessional and you are wasting my time. Nothing. After 3mins, she came back, said "replacement arranged, you will get an email later". Ok, thanked her, nothing, so she was probably so busy with the more important VIP customer. Oh well. They are holding three in-stock items for over three months while they wait on a back ordered item (that wasn't backordered when I placed my order). The reason I ordered in-stock items is because they are...in stock. Their customer service is terrible and they said they would send me my in-stock items if I paid them $150. -Destroyed my Hardwood floor in my house with "White Glove" delivery service on a table. Sent two kids to deliver a 450 lb table, they dragged it across my floor, 10ft gouge in the hardwood floor. No sign of any help from C&B forthcoming.-Delivered 3 damaged TV units so far, been waiting now 1 year for it. Expensive, very poor quality, service, products, and support. Tried to trick us into thinking they had delivered a good product in fact it had two left-hand doors. These people are genuinely evil.
-Beware of getting C&B (Synchrony card). They play a shell game between the 2 companies, charge you for products you don't have, late fees, and interest, when C&B can't deliver they are set up to con you.

But, one month turned into two, with no definite availability date in sight. They pushed back the arrival date every week till it became a regular and anticipated source of frustration. Customer service could offer no additional insight about the delay. It seems that C&B could care less about things like accountability or honor. I found the manufacturer of the piece and wrote to them, as well. Crickets. No reply. I ended up canceling the item which proved to be a difficult feat. When shopping for a couch we found many that we liked and one of those happened to be the Lounge 93" Sofa. Others were from various vendors. We ultimately decided to go with the Lounge Sofa in a Stock fabric because they told us it was in stock and would only be 3-4 weeks to deliver and the other companies told us it would be more likely 10 weeks and we wanted it sooner than that. We are at three months and still don't have our couch that was "in stock with stock fabric." What is the most frustrating part is that they constantly have the estimated delivery date and then two to three days before that date they push it back an additional three to seven days. It is almost like they got you on the hook but then slowly drag you along for weeks and months saying it should be there soon or in the next 7 days.
Totally fine if the couches are not in stock - I get it, supply chain is all messed up because of Covid. But PLEASE don't lie to your customers to get their money. Now I am stuck in a house with no furniture and C&B has my money to hold the couch that has likely not been made yet. I have a housewarming party in two weeks that I will likely have to cancel because I will not have my couch. Be aware that returning large pieces to Crate & Barrel is a long & tedious process. I bought 2 large Chairs from Crate & Barrel after going to the store to check their return policy and ease of returning, as I wasn't sure the color would work for me. The girl explained that I could either call and arrange a pick up but I would have to pay a restocking fee or I could return them myself to the warehouse which she confirmed was only 10 mins away. When the chairs arrived, I did not like them, so I immediately started the return process by attempting to call the number online. I was on hold for a long time (15mins?) and so took the suggestion of their 'recording' and decided to try texting.
I got a girl (I won't call her name), who was obviously too busy to be taking my case as she responded every 10 mins and then completely stopped responded. It was then picked up by someone else... I then texted back & forth for 1 hour & 15mins, trying to arrange to return them to the warehouse (an appointment is needed to do this and the first available was in 2 weeks)! So then I decided it to pay the restocking fee and have them pick them up. That was a 10 day wait. I assume, sensing my frustration, the young lady called me to discuss. She was very pleasant & we concluded that she would contact the warehouse and get back to me the next day (yesterday). That did not happen. I just picked up a beautiful fireplace screen in pewter. I had already read the reviews on the store website and was advised that this was very simple to assemble because it involved simply attaching the two feet at the bottom with two screws. Well, I got my lovely screen today. I went to put the two feet on with the two screws (one screw per foot) and discovered to my horror that this was one of the more complicated assemblies I have ever faced (and I put together a LOT of furniture.
The problems included: (1) the holes for the screws were not circular! There was metal material in one of the screw holes which did not permit the screw to turn in the hole. I had to "ream" the hole to fit the screw. (2) One of the screws was rusted, so I had to oil it in order for it to turn in the hole (once reamed). (3) The holes for the screws were so close to the body of the screen, it was almost impossible to turn the screws into the feet. Most significantly, (4) I was not provided an Allen wrench for the holes in the screws (why weren't they just phillips head screws???).
The instructions said that an Allen wrench was included, but the box with the two feet said that it only contained the two feet with two screws. No Allen wrench. Well, that's okay because I have a zillion Allen wrenches, so I assumed that this would not be a problem. Of course, not a single one fit the rather large opening. Either my Allen wrenches were too large or too small. So I ended up using a pliers to try to turn the screws. It was ridiculously difficult for two little screws. I still gave this screen a 3 rating because it really is beautiful, despite the fact that the feet are not tightly screwed in and are therefore a little bit wobbly and because of how difficult assembly turned out to be.

Well that turned out to be a lie, because right before I hit “Place Order” I was warned that I'd be charged a 50% deposit. Uh, OK, whatever. I also asked for a coupon to be applied to the order that wasn't working for me, and, again, the rep reassured me it'd be done. Well, I contacted them 24 hours later, after it appeared the full amount was now being charged to my credit card.
Not only did they knowingly charge the FULL AMOUNT of the order despite what I agreed to on their website (50% deposit), I found out the 20% also wasn't applied. They tried to weasel out of applying the discount because they claimed it wasn't a valid coupon AND said that I would have to pay the full amount because it was a store pick-up versus having it shipped. That made no sense to me and certainly wasn't disclosed when I made the purchase, which means they are fraudulently charging people amounts they don't agree to. I will NOT recommend this store to anyone who work hard for the money they spent wanting a reliable customer service experience. Never again!

I just got off the phone with Crate and Barrel as I was inquiring about delivery of a new bed frame that doesn't use a boxspring and nightstand and wanted to know if they will remove the existing metal bed frame and box springs. Was told they will not move anything that is existing, therefore it is up to me to move my existing bed at my own expense prior to delivery of the new bed frame. They will only deliver and assemble to an empty space. Unless you do not already own a bed and sleep on the floor this is ridiculous!!

I'm disappointed to write this review and I LOVE the C & B and CB2 design but I can't say I'll ever order from any of their companies again. I've spent thousands of dollars there and only have bad experience after bad experience getting my items. The delivery and communication of said delivery is deplorable. They are SO glad to take your money but take their sweet time letting you enjoy the items you've worked so hard to purchase.
In this instance, I ordered the Tyson leather chair (custom) and the nesting coffee tables. I was quoted a 8-10 week delivery process to accommodate the customized piece (not sure if I buy that, but whatever) and now we are sitting at 10+ weeks with no furniture to show for it. Any updates on the status? Nope. Not a call, email, VM, nothing. I had to drive down to the store when I hit 10 weeks to ask someone to tell me what was going on (don't get me started on the fact that every salesperson in there pretended I was invisible). Only to find out, part of my order now is delayed.. Why wasn't that held for me when I wanted to have 1 delivery day... so I don't have to take off more than one day from my job that pays for these items...?? Hmmm... so now we'll be looking at about 15 total weeks for something that was supposedly available for delivery the day I purchased it. We'll see if it even makes it by that 15 week mark.
Just got off the phone with the customer service rep at the Dallas locations, by the way. He had no resolution to offer other than rescheduling for another day-- is that a joke!? Also persisted to talk over me the whole time. Wasn't patronizing which I appreciate, but good god- shut up when i'm talking. I'm really upset that I won't be able to spend anymore money here.. oh and I have the CC. No value in their customers. I will be telling everyone about this head-aching experience.

I ordered a mini Dash toaster oven on October 2, 2019. Was told it would be delivered on 10/24/19. Then I got a message that said it would be delivered on 11/4/19. I contacted them via Twitter. They said they would send me a new one and that I could keep the old one as well. They said they would expedite it and delivery should take one to two days. Well that was on 10/25 and UPS delivers on all days so now it's been 4 days. Contacted them again and they said they would email their warehouse to make sure that they get my order shipped out the next day with tracking updates. So yeah, that's my experience. I will never buy anything from them again. I regret this purchase so much. It's not the toaster oven itself but rather the lack of...service maybe.

Don’t order SASHA Arm Chairs! After 8 weeks of placing my order online for two of these chairs was informed after calling customer service that chairs were delayed one month. Two weeks later I was informed after calling for an update that chairs were now delayed another month and I CANNOT cancel the order. They will not allow it. So three months later no chairs yet. This is truly unacceptable service and Crate & Barrel should have provided information before order placement that these chair orders would take minimum of 8-10 weeks. If I had known this I certainly would not have ordered these chairs. Never buying from Crate & Barrel again, just not worth the headaches.

Ordered 2 sofas and chair, waited 10 weeks for delivery. Both sofas covered in dirty black marks and one had a hole in. We told them not to bother unwrapping the chair. These sofas were clearly wrapped like that from the manufacturer so clearly no quality control. Absolutely disgusting that not one but both sofas dirty and damaged. We asked delivery driver to take away. Crate and Barrel asked us to keep the furniture but we refused. We didn’t want dirty furniture in our house. So, so disappointing.

My wife and I ordered a custom Axis II couch from Crate and Barrel at the end of June. It arrived today and the back of it was completely smashed. In the months between order and delivery we attempted to contact Crate and Barrel to alter the order because we thought the couch we chose might be too big for our living room. We were told that since it is a custom order and it is currently in production they could not change the order as it is all cut from the same cloth therefore they cannot simply re-sell the part in their stores that we didn't want. So, ok, we dealt with that, cause what could we do. Fast forward to today when it is delivered. Two guys carry each piece in and when unwrapping it we notice the damage. The top wood frame of the wedge section of the couch is completely cracked in half and the fabric is torn.
The delivery guys called Crate and Barrel for me and as I'm speaking with them they tell me "we'll have someone come out and fix it" -- this is beyond repair. Besides, we don't want a refurbished couch when we paid for a NEW couch. We paid for a brand NEW couch so we want a NEW couch. I tell them that and they say, "Ok we can order you a new piece." Well wait a minute...what about the whole "it's cut from the same fabric so we cant add or take away any pieces as it might not match?" When it's convenient for them I guess they can magically make a new piece from "different" fabric (even though it's a stock color). Ok so, fine, they'll replace it. I then say, "Well it needs to be expedited". They have the nerve to say "sorry we cannot do that".
So to review: We ordered a very expensive custom couch. It took almost 3 months for it to be manufactured and delivered. When it was finally delivered it's completely ruined and when I ask them to expedite a new piece (and all it is, is a wedge) they say no. On top of all of this none of the legs on the couch sit flush on the floor. Each one of them has at least one side that does not make contact with the floor. Kind of like those tables at restaurants that you need to rip up coasters and stuff them under so you can eat on the table without spilling your drink on yourself. Yea. That's what we get for over $3,000.
We will never buy another thing from Crate and Barrel. Oh and the icing on the cake. The woman on the phone told me that they make sure to take the best care of their custom order customers...oh really? This is the "best care" your company provides? Well, I'd hate to be someone who didn't order a custom piece. 'Cause we got less than nothing. Can't imagine how you treat people who order stock items. Totally atrocious. Worst company of all time. Do not waste your money or time at this dumpster fire of a place. Honestly you might be better off going to your local junk yard and dragging a couch out from under piles of used diapers and rusty nails than ordering anything from Crate and Barrel.

I ordered the Winnetka table and buffet and chairs and the first time they delivered items they forgot the base of the table. The driver didn’t even attempt to delivery the table top - he told us not to take the table without the base. After calling the store for 5 days straight I finally arranged to have the table delivered again. Never got a call the day before with a delivery window so I had to once again call the store to confirm the delivery was actually scheduled. Waited home all day Saturday only to have the driver tell us he only had a base - no table top. I am still waiting to get the table delivery rescheduled - after having paid for it over 6 weeks ago. The customer service has been dreadful. I don't think I will ever order anything from them again.

I received a gift for my wedding from Crate and Barrel (I wasn’t registered there). I tried to return it 4 months after my wedding, it’s still in the box, all the bowls still wrapped up and they wouldn’t take it. Their return policy is a strict 90 day return policy. For a high end furniture, pricey home store, they should have a better return policy. Nordstrom’s has a great return policy and that is a reason why they have loyal customers and people continue to shop there. If Crate and Barrel wants to grow their consumer base they should consider adjusting their return policy. I haven’t ever gravitated towards Crate and Barrel but now I never will. Why would I when I can get better service elsewhere.

Beware! Absolute WORST customer experience ever! Ordered the Ditto II sectional sofa and patiently awaited delivery. When it finally came, the order was wrong. They sent me two left arm sofas, versus a sofa and chaise. When the delivery men opened it in my apartment (scratching my hardwood floor in the process), and we realized it was wrong, they wouldn’t take it back and told me they weren’t permitted to do that, and that they had to leave it with me as a “loaner.” I explained I clearly didn’t need a loaner as still had a sofa in that space, but they still did not take it with them.
Then, I called CB2 that day (6/14/19) at 2:04 pm CT to tell them what happened and that I wanted it out of my apartment. I have a small one-bedroom space now occupied with three sofas! The customer service woman said the earliest they could come get it was on June 28! And, she sent me a $50 gift card assuming that would ease my frustration.
I never received a confirmation that they were picking it up, so I called back again today (6/21/19 at 11:56 am CT, and they called me back at 12:15 pm CT), spoke with Heidi in customer service who, after I asked to speak with a manager and she said the manager is out of the office, transferred me to Karen in problem resolution. I was told that they had NO RECORD of my phone call on 6/14!!! And, now the earliest they can come is in July!!
I explained to Karen that they are making me LOSE money since I often rent my space on Airbnb and cannot do that with my apartment in this state! And, CB2 still has my $2,000 that I want refunded after they pick up the sofas! So, essentially, they are making money while I am losing money and there’s absolutely nothing I can do. And, I am also expecting company as well and embarrassed at what my apartment looks like right now. I even offered to ship it myself to their freaking warehouse, but of course they won’t allow that to happen. This is UNACCEPTABLE! This was my first experience with CB2 and will certainly be my last once this is resolved. I will NEVER shop there again – EVER. I wish I saw their HORRENDOUS reviews before I made this purchase!

Crate and Barrel is shipping wedding gifts to giver, not bride; they are saying $414 order was held up for 2 small items valued at $40; two Customer Service reps were rude; they will not put me through to a supervisor; and after many years of loving the place - shopping in person - I am very disappointed. They said my credit card was declined when my bank said there was no charge attempted, much less declined. Then, the gifts were late and being shipped to MY home! No offer to expedite shipping free since it was their fault.
Call center is in IL and I'm just so surprised at the reactions of these people. I won't do this again.... And today, two items on the LONG list of items with another order went down in price by $20 each. Cannot get through to ask them to reduce the price and wouldn't have had to "get through" before this very convenient computer age when one can set software to do anything. I'm frustrated. Very frustrated. There are other stores and this problem isn't just with me!

I received a product that was not at all like what was pictured on the Crate and Barrel website. I considered the product as not as represented and returned it with an explanation. Crate and Barrel does not refund shipping costs even when they are at fault. Other reputable companies like Amazon, accept responsibility for the quality of their products and include shipping fees in their refunds when they are at fault. This was my response to Crate and Barrel when I was informed that I had to bear the cost of their misrepresentation.
Thank you. I, of course, will no longer do business with your company. I believe the glasses were not as represented; therefore, I believe the shipping costs should also be refundable. Other reputable companies, like Amazon, accept responsibility for the integrity of their offerings and include a refund of shipping fees when they are at fault. I will reflect this opinion in my review of Crate and Barrel.

Only because of so many of my other pieces of furniture arriving with issues am I writing this. I bought the Marin Media/Bar & coffee table to match. My issue was with the condition of the bar. The color was perfect and was only slightly a different hue than the coffee table (understandably due to wood). However there were inflections I noticed when the sun hit the table. It looked as if someone had previously scratched the top of the surface and filled it in. This was very well done but still resulted in a visible scratch on the surface of our new bar/console. I also noticed a large diagonal mark which I believe was made from an X-Acto knife when being opened at the time of delivery. The mark crossed 3 of the slotted panels on the front doors. I called to have it replaced and was impressed with the customer service who immediately sent out a replacement a few weeks later. However, I waited all day on a Saturday to have them come after the delivery time and after waiting indoors the entire day.
They proceeded to move the console and replace it but the one they brought was more than 3 shades lighter and looked completely different than the one it was replacing not to mention the coffee table and this no longer looked like a set. Furthermore, the doors on this one did not close properly and upon pointing this out the movers proceeded to jam the doors closed creating a huge and very noticeable mark and indent on the cabinet. To say the least I was unimpressed and we sent the replacement back.
I did not proceed to have another replacement as I was frustrated with the service and did not want to waste additional time to wait around for what would seem to be a never-ending issue. The coffee table was in good condition but was very dirty in the slots upon arrival. My thought was I was given previously returned items in hopes to get rid of them in the warehouse instead of new items. I am not a person who has ever filled out a review and it took me a long time to do this but a little more than a year later it does bother me every time I see this piece in the light.

When I didn't hear any updates on my order for more than 10 days, I called customer service and they were very helpful and friendly. I used their callback option so I didn't have to wait on the phone for my turn. They called me back at my turn. About a week later, I noticed that my account was billed even though there was no indication of an update on my order. I contacted customer service through their chat option on their website. The representative was very helpful and let me know that my order was ready, and I should start the process of scheduling delivery. I did this, and everything went exactly as planned after that. The furniture is even more beautiful and well made than I expected. I think they need to get better at communicating with customers, but based on my experience I think they are a company that provides quality products.

Last fall, during a furniture sale, I ordered the Barrett Ottoman with tray and casters. This is a custom item, and I was told it would take a couple of months to receive it. In late November, as promised, I received an email notifying me that my ottoman was ready to be delivered. I went online to choose a delivery date. The room in which I'll use it was in the middle of being remodeled, so I chose a delivery date almost a month out.
A week before the scheduled delivery, I realized the workmen wouldn't be finished in time, so I called Crate and Barrel and rescheduled the delivery date, pushing it another week out. A couple of days prior to delivery, I received an automated phone call reminding me of the delivery date. That phone call also narrowed the time down to a 2 hour window, and asked me to confirm by pressing "1" on my phone, which I did.
On the actual delivery date, I again received an automated call, when the truck was approximately 10 minutes from my place. Long story short: the ottoman was exactly as ordered, and delivered as promised. The guys had to carry it to the second floor of my house, but I'd specified that when I ordered it, and there were NO problems. I've read so many negative reviews of Crate and Barrel on this site, that I wanted people to know that my experience with Crate and Barrel products and delivery has been excellent. I ordered the ottoman from the Crate and Barrel at Willow Bend in Plano, TX, and it was delivered to my condo in far North Dallas.

It took nearly 30 minutes to find my order in the stock room. By the way, the store was not busy at that time. Yesterday my plates arrived through FedEx. 7 out of 8 plates were shattered and I called customer services immediately around 2 pm. I was on hold for 45 minutes before a agent answered. This was just unacceptable for customer services. The excuse was because of high call volume due to holiday season.
A day after my first online order, I placed another online order for store pickup. After my first pickup experience, I called the store 30 minutes ahead, gave my name, order number and asked the associate to bring my purchase to the register for pickup. Lo and behold, my purchase was not at the register and took another 30 minutes to locate my bag. I was going to let Crate and Barrel know about my experiences. The only available information for feedback was the customer services number which I had to wait for 45 minutes for someone to answer or write a letter or fill out a survey on the online ordering software. Obviously the company does not want to hear from customers directly. If so, the company will make it more convenient to listen to customers’ feedback. C&B suggested we keep the sofa until they hear back from the manufactures "Shenandoah". That was 2 weeks ago and unacceptable. In hindsight we believe that C&B’s advise to us to keep the sofa until the issue is resolved was a ploy to not pressure Shenandoah to replace the sofa and thus forcing us to live with this uncertain situation.
