What is Tax Defense Network?

Founded in 2007, Tax Defense Network helps with a wide variety of tax debt issues, pending tax problems and the prevention of tax liabilities. Its team of EAs, CPAs and tax attorneys allows clients to get tax relief, no matter how severe their tax problem is. Its website is also full of helpful resources such as forms, calculators and downloadable tax guides.

How does Tax Defense Network work?

After your initial free consultation, the tax professional will conduct a thorough analysis of your tax situation. The company will not give you a price quote until it has reviewed your case thoroughly. Based on the analysis, the tax professional will develop a strategy for resolving your tax problems. This may involve negotiating with the IRS or state tax authorities on your behalf, preparing tax returns or filing appeals.

Tax Defense Network FAQ

Can I resolve tax issues without a resolution company?

Yes, you can deal with the IRS directly. However, dealing with the IRS can be complicated and time-consuming, and you might not get the outcome you're hoping for. Even if you are unsure if you should hire a tax professional or do-it-yourself, a free consultation can be helpful.

How long does the tax resolution process take?

The process can vary depending on how complicated your tax situation is and how fast you get your paperwork in order. A few Tax Defense Network customer reviews said that the process took them between three and six months. The company says it takes on average from six to 12 months and its team can give a more definite timeline after your initial consultation.

Can Tax Defense Network guarantee results?

No, the Tax Defense Network does not guarantee that you will reduce your tax bill with the IRS. Additionally, it does not offer any refunds or money-back offers if you’re dissatisfied.

Does Tax Defense Network offer payment plans?

Yes. Tax Defense Network says most clients are eligible for affordable payment plans starting at $99.

Still have questions?

While I had another company, their communication was very poor. Tax Defense was good with their communication when I tried them. I didn't know what was going on and they helped me with the IRS taxes that I owe for a couple of years. The rep communicated well, which was what I was looking for. She informed me of some things, and dealing with her was great. But I filed for bankruptcy and my program has been stopped for now. So, no resolution has been made.

I had a great experience with Tax Defense Network. They helped me with a little of everything, tax preparation, and helping me review past taxes that I didn't know I missed. The enrollment process was very easy. It was just a matter of going through a phone interview, understanding what the process was gonna be. They eliminated fears of getting a lien against personal accounts or personal assets. So, it was a great, very easy, and straightforward process.

I owed taxes and got ahold of Tax Defense Network right away. I Googled, liked their name and called them. Most of the people I talked to were very nice. Some people are hard to get ahold of, but with the way the world is today, it's not surprising. I've been in sales forever and the lady that was in charge of my case was a little sharp, but she wasn't warm and fuzzy. When someone's in sales, they should be. People want to talk to somebody really nice. The men were great, but the lady could be warmer and fuzzier. Other than that, she did her job, even though she kept asking me for taxes that I've already done and sent her. I would go through so much stress worrying about it and of what's going to happen.

Tax Defense Network placed me on a non-collectible 'cause I'm on disability. I had to give them power of attorney, then they told me I had to do it again. I said, "I already did it." It got frustrating. Besides that, I've got them half paid off, and I hope to pay them off this week. Hopefully, what they did doesn't just dissolve and whatever they did sticks. I want to be clear from the IRS coming and taking my couch and my bed. I still get anxiety over that. Tax Defense Network took a lot of money off. I don't know if I could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else, but it was not so bad I didn't do it. I don't know if I would refer them though.

So far worthless. All they did was prolong the inevitable. Terrible follow up that took days if not weeks. If you want to throw away 6000 more dollars. Go for it. You might as well go your own. Good luck. Nobody has your back.

From 2018 forward, I had two years that was a mess of business and personal taxes, so we needed Tax Defense Network to go backwards as well to fix from 2015 forward. It was all straight. I had 38 people involved and they would ghost me for months because of turnover. I wouldn't get told that they were not working for them anymore, so I went back and did a tracking of who I communicated to and how and what we said and who was responsible for what. I got dropped too many times for several months at a time with no contact. I would have to call and get ahold of the highest ranking person that I possibly could, and I had to do that no less than five times to get put back on track.

We had to start back from square one because they said, “I have everything.” And they'd say, “Here. It's done.” “No, you don't have everything. You didn't go back through.” I had a nightmare and I am not exaggerating by one person, because I had 38 people working on the case that I had to go through to get 5 years. That's not the excuse. They had everything that they required, and I would work diligently. I have my master's in business, so I know what they need when they ask for it. And they were given that and more in great detail with itemized spreadsheets and all the attachments included. They would get a table of contents, then they would get each attachment individually, and I would give them an itemized explanation of everything that they asked for. It's not like there was disorganization that it was difficult, made it difficult for them to complete. That wasn't it.

We left Colorado in 2020, meaning there were no taxes to be done and our business was closed in 2020. I was never told that the 2020 taxes were yet to be done until Heather found out in 2024 or 2025 that Tax Defense isn't licensed to do Colorado. That cost me massive fees and late fees etc. because unfortunately, I relied on Tax Defense Network to communicate with everybody this is what I'm told. $8,000 is what the debt should have owed. It's now over $36,000 and they have sent me to collections. That's just from a lack of communication.

I had one person in the final hours who was the only person who stuck with me to finish it out, and her name was Heather. She is the only reason that my accounts are complete. She is the only one that I will give an absolute positive 5 stars because she told me the same thing that everybody else had said prior. “I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to drop you.” She did not drop me and did not go anywhere. We finished it. We should have had it done in 2019 and it took until just a few months ago. We kept having to add years and add years, so 2019 to 2025. It was a nightmare, a lot of lost sleep, so I cannot give Tax Defense positive stars.

Hello, Mary. Our records indicate that our team has worked with you since 2018 on a variety of services, many of which were tax preparations. As filing compliance is needed to establish your chosen resolution, any delays in completing returns will ultimately push back our completion dates as well. This, of course, fails to include the additional time that any added services may take.

We are disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction with your service experience but are happy to hear that we were able to turn things around during your final contract with us.

Your feedback is important to us and will certainly be reviewed internally to determine how we can improve our processes in the future.

If you would like to discuss any additional information with our team, please feel free to contact us at tdncares@taxdefensenetwork.com for additional assistance.

I received a letter from the IRS that I had a couple years of returns that had not been filed, so they were trying to put liens and levies on me. I hired Tax Defense Network to help resolve the issue since they had good reviews. I got on the phone with them then they asked me for a credit card number, which I gave them. After that, I didn't hear from anybody for a long time and I had to reach out to them to ask what were they doing. In the meantime, I continued to receive letters from the IRS. I finally got assigned to an agent and her name was Jane. She was handling my case, but she really didn't do anything. Ultimately, the IRS ended up putting a lien on my bank account and they took all of the funds I had in my bank at the time.

During this time, I was going through a brief period of unemployment, so I didn't have any money at all. And it was because Jane was not doing what she was supposed to be doing. She said she was faxing a power of attorney and these different things to the IRS to let them know they were handling it, but the revenue officer at the IRS was telling me that they got nothing. So, even though Tax Defense Network told me not to talk to the IRS saying that it was better for them to handle all communications with the IRS, I had to speak directly with the revenue officer, and I was able to get him to release some of my funds back to me. But it was something I shouldn't have had to do if I was hiring Tax Defense Network to do all this for me.

So those positive reviews about them were not accurate because aside from my horrible experience, I later discovered that they had a lot of really bad reviews as well. Right now, I still have Tax Defense Network because I was already entangled with them with all of my stuff. I also asked them to file my taxes for last year, which I did with them and I continued paying them. Everything's okay with that, but I'm still dealing with the IRS. Other than that, my agent, Jane, eventually got fired because she wasn't helping her customers and the next person I worked with was Mabertine. So far, I haven't heard from the IRS in a while, so I don't know what she's doing.

But one of the things that they promised me before I signed up with them was that they would be able to negotiate a lower amount than what I owe. Then after I signed up with them, they kept telling me they couldn't do anything to reduce that amount and that I was going to have to pay the same amount to the IRS. I regret ever finding Tax Defense Network and I would tell my friends to stay away from them. They made everything worse for me. It seems like there are a lot of similar companies that are doing the same sort of thing and you'd be better off if you just do everything on your own.

Hello, Dominic. We take the concerns of our clients very seriously and have looked into your statements regarding delays in contact and have not found that your onboarding process or communications took more than the standard 1-2 business days. If an alternative timeline was provided to you, this is a matter we sincerely apologize for as we understand that awaiting a call that does not come can be frustrating.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the progression and status of your services, as it appears your last service contract ended with our company some time ago.

The IRS was about an inch away from coming in on me. My girlfriend did the research and sent me Tax Defense Network's number. Enrollment required a lot of paperwork, a lot of stuff I couldn't do because I was in a big truck driving around, then when I was home, everybody was closed. The rep, Dimitri, was very nice and professional, and she's been working hard. I sent her a bunch of stuff again and I get an email or a text from Dimitri. While I would appreciate a faster response, she's busy with a lot going on. I should have less money owed, but Tax Defense Network is only doing by law what they can. I'm still ineligible to pay status and then a three-and-a-half-year process, and it's been fun. I'm happy so far. I recommended someone and he's currently in the process of getting hooked up with them.
