The outcome turned out great! This took over 2 years, in which I still never received an explanation why. The communication over this time was not good. From what I heard after they accepted the offer from Optima was the money I owed was from a different year 2019 that I had a payment plan set up & there were no taxes owed for 22, 23, 24. I am grateful for the outcome.

I really enjoyed the call with Hector. He took the time to go over everything with me and made sure I understood everything. I didn't have to keep asking him to repeat himself everything was clear and understandable. I wish I could get him every time. I really felt comfortable talking with him!

Mr Frank was awesome. He explained clearly and made sure I was satisfied and understood everything before ending the call. As a side note I do have a major complaint about complaint about the agent spoke with before him. Please review and call back so we can have a conversation about her. Again, Frank was outstanding and should be used as an example.

Professional rep and very descriptive with answers. So far my dealing with this company have been all positive. I am awaiting next steps in the negotiations and are waiting to see what they really can do for me.

The young lady Tameka was very help and very nice. She was patient with me and answering my questions. Prior in to talking to Tameka the last 2 females I have talked to was very rude and hung up on me because they couldn’t answer my questions. Instead of getting someone else who could. Mr. ** and Carlos was also very helpful.

We started with Optima Tax Relief in December 2020. Paid them $8,000 up front. I mean we are trying to lower this tax debt! It's 5.11.2026 and between OTR and the loser IRS, they neither one can get their act together and finish the friggin job. They keep saying they didn't get documents, so does the loser IRS. Constantly uploading POA's and they would say they didn't get it. We mailed an amended tax document and they say they didn't get it. I documented when it was mailed. Both OTR and the IRS are utterly ridiculous. This has dragged out 6 years. OMG! My head is about to explode!

If I could leave negative 5 stars that would be more accurate of a description of this company. They not only will cost you 5000 to drag out over a year but you’ll end up with more of a tax bill to the IRS. It’s a complete scam of a company that ended up not saving a penny, end result cost 9000 more than if I just paid the IRS directly. Do not use these scammers, they will not do anything other than take 5k and leave you with more of a debt to the IRS.

2013 was the year we reached out to OPTIMA Tax Relief, big mistake. They started charging us in the month of April to October for consultations we never received. In October we received a letter from the IRS for a consultation about our tax situation that we never heard from OPTIMA TAX RELIEF. The IRS stated they could not converse with us as long as OPTIMA TAX RELIEF had power of attorney. Not hearing anything from Optima tax relief, we cancelled power of with them. Turns out OPTIMA TAC RELIEF charged us $10,000.00 and ended up paying the IRS $95,000.00. I did not file a complaint with BBB or consumer protection agency because they’re too big to fight. I’m not concerned about stating this now 13 years later because God has helped me through this and I still have all the documents to prove my case. God Bless you all and read the fine print.

We contacted Optima to help resolve an IRS demand for $19,000 from an audit they conducted (we were unaware of the audit) for our 2023 return. It made no sense to us so we contacted Optima. We were told they would accept our case and they would deal with the IRS directly on our behalf. We were led to believe they would investigate the allegations and come up with an amicable resolution with the IRS. We were told we would be working with a tax professional. In four months we haven’t spoken to the same person yet and several calls the representative didn’t seem familiar with our case. We eventually heard back from Optima and they said our obligation to the IRS is now $67,000 based on my wife’s previous returns before we were married. The IRS had them in uncollectable status. We had never had any contact from the IRS regarding any outstanding debt until the December 2025 letter requesting payment of the original $19,000.

So I called Optima about my issue and since I was below their helping tax amount, they referred me to finish line tax and finish line. Rip me off of $1200 and didn't do nothing for me. I ended up having to do it all by myself. And now I'm stuck with more money to pay the taxes. Because finish line didn't do their job and stop the interest from adding up. So be careful with Optima Tax Relief and don't use the finish line tax relief. You'll lie to you and rip you off.

I should have read all of the reviews before hiring Optima to help with my tax issues. I paid them over $6000 only to have to constantly bug them to get them to do anything with my case. It took almost 2 years to get a settlement that was not lowered at all by their promise to help with penalties and interest charges. Actually cost me extra for the amount of time it took to settle. In the end I would have been better off giving the IRS my $6000+ to go towards what I owed.

Paid 500 $ to these clowns. They came back and wanted 12000 more. Wanted to set up house payments. Never found out what I owed or if I owed 500 $ for shit.

I would highly suggest just submitting a payment arrangement request yourself!!!! This company is not going to get anything you owe reduced!!!! Just got my bad news after waiting 8 months of just collecting more penalties. They simply give them your income and subtract your monthly expenses. Then come up with a payment amount. Nothing gets reduced. So don't fall for the scam.

They charged me over $8000 dollars and all they did was file a return and a payment plan. It was very hard to get in touch with anyone and no one explained anything about the plan so I’m now dealing with IRS myself. Biggest rip off ever and no one cared. Would never recommend these crooks to anyone.

I don't know where to start. Eight months, almost $7,000 spent. No results. Optima admitted that they have done nothing but refuse to refund me. The legal team only offered a 50% refund. This is insulting. Susan, Customer Retention Specialist stated that if I disputed the charge with my bank, "Optima will fight back with full force." It feels as if they waited until they knew it would be out the timeframe to dispute with my bank. Optima did not complete one single task for me, yet they are refusing to return my $6598!

In my opinion this company is a scam and a rip-off. I contacted them 2023 after hearing their radio ads about saving clients thousands on their taxes. The enrollment agent (i.e. salesperson) was extremely helpful. After making an initial down payment and going an installment plan, I suspended the program a few months later because of a divorce. I resumed 2024. None of my prior payments counted. I started all over. My total cost was just under $5,000.00 for them to file my back taxes and negotiate on my behalf. No one would discuss my case until it was paid in full. In the meantime, I was accruing interest and penalties on the back taxes. I could not get anyone to discuss my case until it was paid in full.

I signed up with Optima Tax last February 2025 until August 2025. I wanted them to get a lower payment for a 2019 tax issue. Optima tax claim that they could also file my 2024 taxes, during that time frame neither was done and I called them to ask for updates and it was always like I was getting nothing but excuses. The only thing this company can guarantee is taking your money with no results. I will advise anyone who is considering going to Optima ... Don't do it!!! I even told the representative that I was speaking to me that I was going to write a bad review and he told me "Do what you need to do" and said have a nice day!! This company is terrible that will not resolve anything but your bank account!!!

They took my money and did absolutely nothing, Run as far away as possible if you are thinking about using this lying agency that will take your money and not do anything for you. This company is a fraud and should be shunned at every turn.

Optima, a company I hired for $495 to represent me, has suddenly informed me that I owe a staggering $60,000 in taxes. To represent me, they require an additional $8,800 on top of $60000 I had to pay to the IRS, not sure how this will help me. This unexpected financial burden is compounded by the fact that I when I talked to Ray he did not or couldn’t provide accurate information.

Optima just takes your money and gets no results. I paid 8000 $ in the year 2025 hoping all year long that I would get the help I needed and all they did for me was what I could of done for free on the irs website. Optima never called me with any updates, the only call I ever received was from the billing dept trying to squeeze more money from me. When I called Optima it was like the representative had no clue what needed to be done with my case. This was such a bad experience. Don't go with Optima if you're looking for help. I think a better option would be precision tax relief. Save your money, don't choose Optima period.

I contacted them, paid a $500 fee for them to make a plan. They came back wanting to talk to me ahead of our scheduled appointment in some frantic aggressive manner and tried to demand I pay them a $13,000 fee to handle my case. My total tax Debt is close to $25,000. At first I didn't want to, but I want to handle my taxes, so I followed up to inquire about starting and never heard back from anyone. I've sent several emails requesting refund and no response to those. This is a scam.

This company does nothing to lessen you from IRS harassment. They don’t communicate where they are in the process nor do they provide any guidance as to how to navigate and communicate with the IRS. The audit department don’t talk with the protection department, leaving the customer in the middle and in the dark. I ended up resolving my case on my own and faster than Optima Tax Relief. Stay away from Optima.

I hired Optima Tax Relief to represent me for the IRS. They did a wonderful job and I would recommend anyone that need help with the IRS to choose Optima Tax Relief, I give them 5 stars for the great job they did for me.

Do not use Optima! They're nothing more than a money grab. They promised the world and 3 years later, after we said we were contacting a lawyer optima blocked us from accessing our account and canceled our power of attorney. Our wages were garnished after they promised they wouldn't be. They never made one appointment, and always had an excuse. It has been a complete nightmare.
