Optima Tax Relief’s advertising was a deciding factor for me in choosing them. Supposedly, they filed my income taxes for the last four years, and that went okay. But they came back and by the time it was all done with the IRS, I owed them over $85,000 with the penalties and taxes. They stopped them from sending me harassing letters so that part worked. But my last experience with Optima is the reason I decided to move to a different company. They charge a high fee of $12,000 for the service. I asked for a refund because they didn’t accomplish everything they told me they were going to do. My taxes were supposed to be non-collectible, which was what the IRS said, because my financial situation is dire. Instead, the IRS came back and said they were going to put a lien on my house for five years. They also said that if my situation changes, I would still have to pay my back taxes. They did stop some of the interest and penalties.

They talk a good game. Ultimately they charged me greater than $800/month for 5 months and did nothing. Expected me to do all the input of paperwork despite being told that they could help me find missing documents. When I asked for a refund they basically pushed it to another department and didn't offer any refund. I definitely would not recommend.

I am leaving a 3-star rating based on our overall experience, HOWEVER, Hector ** deserves 5 stars for stepping up when our assigned agent fell short! Hector wasn't even handling our case, yet he took full ownership of the problem. In the time of automated bots and outsourced helplines, his responsiveness and human effort was deeply appreciated. He is a massive asset to the team. He did everything possible to resolve our issue during a stressful time, and we are incredibly grateful for his outstanding effort.

Great customer service and very helpful with the questions I needed answered. I appreciate the time that was taken to give me a reasonable and thorough answer. Would recommend to family and friends. Optima have shown concern and support and as a customer and client that goes a long way to have a support team.

I looked around, did some research, looked at the reviews from the Better Business Bureau and decided to have a conversation with Optima Tax Relief and see what information they could provide. There was no cost to it and there was no pressure. The gentleman laid out to me what the situation was and what they could potentially do for me. They made no promises and I made a decision to give it a try.

I received nothing but help from Optima Tax Relief, and I appreciate that. It was a good service. I had a heart attack a while back, and I missed a couple years afterwards and they helped me get caught up. My wife was doing it, but she died in the process. So, it fell on me. I needed help. So, I called out to them. I took it up around March of last year. They were wonderful. When I first called them, I kept getting on to Philippines, and that was frustrating. When I finally got the team that was working on my file, they were top-notch. It was just getting to them was the frustrating part. They knew my wife passed away. They would continue to ask for her on the phone and ask for a permission from her to talk to me, and that was frustrating. I was still in grieving, and it bugged me that I needed to get ahold of them, and I had to go through the Philippines and talk to various people before they finally got me through them.

Very professional and courteous, exceptional customer service guiding me through a difficult and confusing process. George and whole team was truly exceptional and efficient. I needed detailed assistance and several steps/documents that the team assisted me with, making the process attainable.

I was very relaxed and comfortable in our conversation as to what was needed to complete my file. Julia has great qualities to represent your company and her professionalism is very superb. She gives explicit explanations to get you to understand what is actually needed in order to meet the necessary details to complete the job. I was very pleased to have her speak with me. I’m confident that I will get the best service.

The Optima Tax Relief reps were very nice. We were pretty much on the same page. They’d take me step by step through what was gonna happen next. The cost was expensive, but I did the monthly payment. They were easy to work with.

I was trying to get my taxes back up to where I could get them paid down some. I went with the services of Optima Tax Relief, and the initial consultation was great. They gave me all the information I needed. But I’m still trying to figure out exactly what I need to do to finish up. I'm waiting on the paperwork and the phone call from them. They could do better in making a contact for the next process. Given the quality of service I received, the cost could have been better as well. I’d tell others to use them but also to shop around.

During our calls he explains step by step things that was happening and why they was happening he returned calls in a timely manner and maintain professionalism throughout each and every call. Overall, I will raise his performance a B+ to an A.

I have been dealing with Optima since the spring of 2019. My tax situation was in collections, and I reached out to them. Someone called me back right away and got me signed in. I signed up and then they sent me the power of attorney and all the paperwork I needed to sign. I got my back taxes filed. They worked out a payment plan for me to pay my taxes for the years that I owed for. A

The Optima rep has been real nice and friendly. He seemed to be real helpful. The quality of service so far has been good. The price is pretty high. But according to what I could have owed versus what they're charging, it's not so high. But it's still pretty expensive. I'm still in the middle of things with them. They want me to send in information for all of my 2025 taxes, like W-2s and 1099s. But I haven't sent them any of that information yet. It doesn't look like we're close to the resolution point, and they told me up front that it was going to take several months. But so far, it's been a decent experience.

Although I was not planning on purchasing $29.99 package, Axl ** was so professional and knowledgeable about the service that it made sense. Optima really care about their customers. Monitoring account and preparing Federal and State taxes each year is what sold me.

It had been a great experience working Alan, he was always very thorough in explaining the info to me and making sure I didn't have any questions left unanswered before the step of the process. The process from Beginning to end was very easy and they did all the work.

I contacted another company before Optima. But Optima's rates were a little lower than the other company's. My interaction with the reps has been fine. It was a good experience.

My wife was very sick. She had a liver transplant and lung cancer, and I hadn't paid my taxes in four years. I saw Optima Tax Relief advertised on TV. and they sounded more interesting than other tax people, so I signed up with them for help. They're all very nice, friendly, and very helpful. The first guy I talked to was named Steve. He was in California and he was explaining that it could take up to six months for the four years of my taxes to get taken care of. I started it in April, so I'm only about two months in.

The team try to get me the best possible solution. Everybody was very professional. When they call they want you to verify to make sure it's you. And that makes you feel very secure. They explain why they're calling and what they're doing to try to resolve the issues. Every detail Yes, I would recommend anybody 2 Optima.

I initially did a consultation with Optima Tax Relief. They get your information, what your concerns are, and what you feel like you're facing into. Then they get back and say, “Well, we'll look into it. We'll work out a plan and work out the payment for the plan, and then we'll get on it.” It's a hard thing to give out your information to people. As of right now, I'm paying Optima to perform the tasks that I need to have fixed. I am hopeful that I can be confident that it can be resolved in my favor.

Hector has been extremely helpful, attentive, and detail-oriented throughout this process. He is very thorough and always takes the time to ensure that we fully understand all the information being provided. Optima was easy to sign up for and painless to exit the programs. They helped with my back taxes. Jessica helped a lot while I was exiting the programs as well as made the process painless. Signing up was made easy as I used a payment program due to my situation. Overall a good experience.

This review is about Hector ** only. He is a very understanding and personable employee who went out of his way to help me with an issue I've dealt with since December. He is by far THE best agent I have spoken with in a very long time. He stayed on the phone with me while I esigned 4 documents and made sure he received them as well. He answered several questions I've had since April - when I had sent an email asking for help. Your company needs more people like Hector **!

Omar was very helpful. He outlined what documents I needed to submit in the portal or via fax. He always asked if I needed additional clarifications or I needed additional assistance. He's very customer friendly and very knowledgeable.

The outcome turned out great! This took over 2 years, in which I still never received an explanation why. The communication over this time was not good. From what I heard after they accepted the offer from Optima was the money I owed was from a different year 2019 that I had a payment plan set up & there were no taxes owed for 22, 23, 24. I am grateful for the outcome.
