Started off ok. I thought I’ll give it a try after many letters offering preapproved loan. I signed in on computer and instead of the 1800 they said I qualify for 1000 which boils down to 940 or so after they take a cut. I’m ok with it so I start giving all my information and when I’m done they email me saying they need more and then more and then yet more! This dragged on for about 2 weeks and I called them twice. The calls were usually much better than the daily emails wanting more. I finally asked them to just submit this. I wasn’t going to send anything else. By this time I don’t really need the loan nor want to deal with them. It was a bad experience and too bad because I was considering also investing in the future. I’m sorry I wasted my time.

I applied for a loan with my brother. We have been made to resend documents to Lending Club over and over and over again. We have contacted them by phone and online to find out what they require which we deliver immediately. Whoever we talk to, including supervisors and staff from the loan cancellation department, lies to us about where the loan process is. We have been told that it has cleared the application process and has been sent to the lender for approval. Then today (July 12 - nearly a month after applying for the loan), we were told that was not true and that it had not gone past the initial process from the day we applied for it.

Further, whenever we have resent a document, we call to confirm it has gone through. The answer is always yes. THEN, either that day or the next day, we receive either a call or an email telling us we have to send the same document we just sent. After reviewing Lending Club's track record on payment "mistakes" and dealing with the whole loan application process, we are cancelling business with this company. WARNING: RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I was a personal banker before my current position and my boyfriend is a banker now. We know there are a lot of scams out there and had a meeting with my bank all scheduled, but I recently found out that, when applying for loans, you can apply to as many places you want within a 45 day period and it will only count as one hit on your credit score (you'll want to wait at least 3 months before applying for something new after you've accepted a loan).

The APR I received with Lending Club was less than what my bank (a credit union) currently offers and less than all the other places I got quotes from (4 others and I reviewed 15+ quotes through Credit Karma). I was very pleasantly surprised. The application process was very quick and easy to understand. When I had a question, the online chat agent was available within a few minutes. When I was approved for the loan, they automatically sent out the payments to my current credit cards and the extra to my bank account. They also offered to let me change the due date of my loan each month, which is helpful for budgeting. So far, I have no issues or concerns.

I just wanted to pay off a loan early from Lending Club. Nearly every company in the business of lending has figured out how to do this. Not Lending Club. There is no place on their website to pay off a loan early. If you try to make an extra payment based on the unpaid principal balance (UPB), it will be imprecise and therefore inadequate. I learned this later. When I double checked on upcoming payments, I noticed Lending Club through WEBBANK had incorrect duplicate payments. I called Lending Club to fix it from their side, but they were unable to stop unauthorized payments. They withdrew about $6,500 from my checking account, through I owed less than half of that amount.

I have never heard of a financial institution that is unable to develop a website to handle such basic functions, and incapable of cancelling a duplicate unauthorized payment. They swore up and down at the time that they had fixed the problem, but they had not. This company is not ready to be in business. They have no cash controls, no risk management, no management to speak of as it is difficult to elevate issues to higher levels. This was completely predictable, but they lied and said they had stopped it, or the refund of excess funds would be immediately rebatable. I thought FinTech was supposed to be somewhat sophisticated, but in this case they failed the most basic prohibition against a lender - withdrawing unauthorized funds from a customer.

Since then, 11 loans have been written off. $720 has been paid back, and if I add in the principal and interest due me one year from now, I will have made $812 total, or 1.5% total over a period of 3 years, or 0.5% a year. Wish I had put that money into the stock market or even bonds, would have made 10x as much.

I contacted Lending Club to alter my payment due date which they allegedly took care of. No problem. Unfortunately they didn't alter the payment and threw my finances into chaos. Although LC admitted to their error they were horrible in actually getting a solution. I was transferred to the "payment solutions" department and I am still trying to understand how the word "solution" got into the title of the department. I spoke with 6 different people in this department and each time the story I was told about why LC was so slow to help me despite admitting to fault changed.

I was told two days in a row that I would be contacted by a supervisor to discuss my situation; I'm still waiting to be contacted. I kept being told LC had a process and policies to follow. When I said that I'm sure that's the case but since LC didn't follow their own policies or procedures in messing up my account and finances they should be able to help me since I'm in a unique situation. At this point I was told my situation wasn't unique at all, it happened all the time. Which let me know LC didn't have an issue with me, they have systemic issues. If you need a loan seek an alternate option, you will regret choosing Lending Club.

My loan is for $503.03 which is due on the 18th of every month therefore for me it would be due on 5/18/2019. I called Lending Club on 5/10/2019 and requested the ACH draft to be pushed back to 5/30/2019 which is within the 15 day grace period. I spoke with a Representative and she set up everything and confirmed that my ACH would be drafted on 5/30/2019. On 5/18/2019 Lending Club attempted to draft the payment and it was returned by my bank at which point I incurred a $35 NSF fee.

I immediately called Lending Club and spoke with a very helpful and professional representative who looked at my account, the notes for the account and make the observation that previous representative forgot to delete the scheduled ACH on 5/18 but did in fact schedule a next one for 5/30 (which means I would have been drafted twice for the monthly payment). He stated that he was submitting a ticket to have my NSF fee refunded to me and that it would take between 3-5 business days and did confirm that my ACH draft is still scheduled for 5/30/2019.

I transferred money into my ACH account to clear my payment as I usually do with the expectation that the $35 NSF would also be deposited at which point more than enough would be drafted on 5/30/2019. Today on 5/30/2019 I see that an attempt to draft the $503.03 however the $35 NSF refund had not been given back (it has now been 8 business days) so there should have been no reason for it not to exist.

I saw this and immediately transferred more money into my account however knowing Lending Club they attempt ACH drafts around midnight or so. I called them today (5/30/2019) and was transferred to two representatives and the gist was that I was out of luck "because the back office was still making a decision". The first representative that I was transferred to kept replying as if scripted about "I can stop your automatic payments for June 18th" and not listening at all to what I was explaining.

I eventually got tired and said "no thank you" after asking if I could be transferred elsewhere for assistance as he stated "it's with the back office" about my NSF refund vs the state of my current payment for today (5/30/2019). I hung up and called a minute later and explained the entire situation to another representative who stated that if it's at the back office then she wouldn't know but then after stating "my ACH draft was scheduled today with the expectation of the promised NSF refund to be included in the same draft, what are my options?" She transferred me to a payments representative who essentially suggested that I contact my bank to see if they will honor the ACH draft. I am not sure how my bank is now in the mix when I purposely have only transferred the amounts needed to make payments and have never been late before.

I asked then "how does this affect the status of my account because I was told my refund would be deposited already and now this would technically be the second attempt albeit now on the correct day and it will be returned because at midnight there was not enough funds to cover and when I saw this I transferred more than enough"... The representative then stated that if it didn't clear today as it is the last day of my grace period that it would internally be marked as late and a late fee incurred as the next possible ACH draft would occur on 6/3.

If that happened then I could call back "after speaking with my bank" to try to see if the back office would do something about the late status and fee. After feeling as if I made a very bad decision with applying for Lending Club... To add insult to injury I was asked if my personal contact info and home address had changed. Thank you for devaluing someone who played by the rules and still ended up with the short end of the stick.

I did a little research and I read many of the reviews and decided to give it a try. I went to the link, put in my offer code and filled out the application. I applied for $8,000 to pay off a couple high interest credit cards. My income is W-2 at $72,000 per year and my credit score is about 680. I haven't made a single late payment on either of my car loans or credit cards in about 4 years. After filling out my application I got this message: "Unfortunately your application was not a match with the stringent credit criteria that we use to determine eligibility".

So I don't know what all these other reviews are saying that they approved them when others wouldn't and that it was so easy to get approved. If they're looking for better borrowers than me, they're looking for excellent credit. I can drive away with a new $35,000 car with no money down, but these guys denied my small loan request? So if your credit or income is even a little sketchy, I wouldn't even bother applying. I gave them 1 star because of the weekly harassment I've been receiving from them with their "You have already been pre-qualified", "Offer Expires on XX/XX/XX", "Suggested Loan amount up to $20,000", "We have the loan you want!". The most difficult thing was choosing a lender as there are many options and considerations to look at. Once that was done, Lending Club made the rest of the process easy and pretty straightforward. All was done online except for one phone call to confirm that my phone number was correct. They were able to collect most data needed from other sources, limiting my effort to little more than name and social, and eventually, choosing what other debts to pay off. I would probably give the website 8 of 10 stars as I did not find the steps to be completely obvious or intuitive, that is, there was a listing of "next steps" but not for me a clear way to complete them. Phone call confirmation was especially pleasant, an English speaking rep who was efficient and courteous, willing to answer questions, and clear about next steps to process and what else I needed to do.

Overall, so much more pleasant than dealing with a bank or even credit union, who always seem to have another form to fill out, and one more "little requirement" that needs copies of some form or something I did not even know existed. Final approval was delayed by two days, only because I did the application on a Friday late afternoon, go figure. I have not seen the repayment process yet, but if that goes so smoothly as the application procedure, I hope I don't start applying for more loans I don't need just because it is so easy and pleasant. I compare this to something like a real estate loan, where once done, you swear you will never move because you don't want to have to do that again, or a car loan, where it seems like nothing is ever final, a little tweak to a rate, a "fix" for price, an "adjustment" to term, somehow it is never really final.

Lending Club sends promotional materials and invitations by mail very frequently. They send "pre-approved" amounts along with codes so they are personalized offers based on the prospect's profile. However, when you log in to the website and you enter the amounts shown in the offer, invariably these are significantly higher. I have tested this three times already. Today, my wife received an offer and she immediately wanted to confirm the promotional rate she had received of a loan with offers for $5,000, $10,000 and $20,000 with options for 36 months at 6.95% APR with payments of $151.18, $302.37 and $604.73 respectively all for 36 months at an APR of 6.95%. She decided to check on the $10,000 loan to start.

First, the maximum she could now borrow was $16,000. No longer an offer for $20,000 as in the mailer. The offer for $10,000 was now $341.30 for 36 months at $13.90% rate with an APR of 18.31%. The "pre-approved" mailer showed proposed payments of $302.37 for 36 months at 6.95%. THIS IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! I am sure some fine print exonerates them in some way but this is a way to entice people with offers they will not honor. These are supposed to be personalized loans with an expiration date so they should be able to honor what they are promoting. This is the typical bait and switch.

Find another loan company if you can. Don't use Lending Club or you'll regret it. They take advantage of people's misfortunes and make a fortune doing so. First of all what kind of company lends you money and takes a cut off the top and charges you insane interest rates. Example if you borrow $1000 they give you $800 initially taking $200 off the original loan and then tax you so much you end up upside down from the start of the loan. I also became a victim of identity theft shortly after getting a loan with them. Coincidentally the 2 other companies which committed fraud and got loans using my identity are all under one main umbrella company which branches off into other loan companies with different names but are owned by one main company.

Someone within Lending Club used or sold my info fraudulently. Weeks after I got approved with them 2 other companies simultaneously got loans approved with my information. I recently was able to pay my loan off with them, but surprisingly after the payment was made they said that I still had an outstanding balance due to daily interest accrued at ridiculous rates. Note that you can never make a payment that goes through right away. Instead they schedule your payment for the next following day. All the while they charge you interest for the day you wait for your payment to be processed.

Insanity I tell you. It seems like you can't just easily pay off your loan just outright. These horrible practices should be illegal and not be allowed to happen, but they do. I explained my situation to their payment solutions people and they claimed that they could not waive any interest fees because they claim not to be a traditional bank and that their shareholders would not allow you to not pay the astronomical fees. Always read the small print before signing anything with Lending Club because they will exploit your struggles for extreme profit. Just say no to Lending Club or you will be sorry.

I filled out the info required to see loan and interest rates and I was in fact eligible for a lower rate on the cost of the loan. I DID NOT Pull the trigger though. The next day someone (loan dept) called and inquired about the search and I began a dialogue with him. He ensured me that there would be no fees associated (lie). They do take a processing fee $900.00 and to pay off the original loan at the higher rate - you not only pay the 'principal' but the adjustment fees.

When I inquired on the processing fee I was charged - they pulled up a recorded conversation - wherein the beginning of the call the agent mentioned a processing fee - not how much it would be and when I asked later in the call about fees associated - there was no mention of the processing fee. Totally slimy experience! There are many lenders out there that want your interest fees - don't give it to Lending Club.

Lending Club would like to have you believe that you can earn 8% by investing their notes. I can tell you from experience this is not the case. I invested in a broad portfolio of hundreds of notes which were mostly of a high grade. As it turns out Lending Club is a tool frequently used by frauds. Let me explain. People will take out a Lending Club loan and then shortly thereafter and sometimes immediately declare bankruptcy at which point your loan goes to 0 and recovery is prohibited by law. This isn't rare. It literally happened dozens of times. Even among those with 'A' and 'B' grade profiles.

Now I'm stuck slowing withdrawing my money over the course of three years earning a return of less than three percent. I could have invested in government treasuries of a shorter duration and earned a better return! Also yesterday I got an email informing me that the IRA I opened with LC is charging me a $100 annual fee which equates to 44% of the amount of interest I've earned since inception! I took out a loan from Lending Club on 11/17 for $35,000 from which they took $1500 off the top. Upon refinancing my house in November of 2018, I arranged to have the loan paid off through my escrow company. Lending Club claims they never received it even though we have a proof of delivery from FedEx signed for by one of their employees. They continued to charge me late fees and interest while promising to do an internal audit and search for the check. They said they would get back to me shortly. They never did.

Lending Club would not respond to the problem in writing via email and, instead, asked that I call. I called on numerous occasions only to learn that no investigation had been undertaken. Every call started the entire process over again with me sending all the supporting documents while investing another 30 minutes on the phone with no result. The agents are not helpful and become belligerent if you don't do exactly as they demand. When I asked to speak with a manager, they placed me on permanent hold. If you are going to pay off your loan early, insist on wire transferring the money so they can't "lose" your check. They do not want you paying off the loan early and will do everything possible to prevent it from happening.

I spoke with five different agents about this matter and not one time did anyone admit that they had received a FedEx package from me with a check for the payoff. They would simply repeat that my loan was late and ask when I was going to bring it current. For payback, they reported this as a late payment to the credit bureaus while they were holding my payoff. This organization is as unethical as it gets and should be avoided at all costs by people looking for loans.

Lending Club is committing fraud in an attempt to harass and blackmail customers for paying off their loans early in retaliation to destroy their credit for losing out in hefty amounts of interest over years long period. I can prove this with screenshots. Lending Club records indicate whatever they want them to indicate and they will change the records after the fact to match what they want them to show is illegal. This is why I took screenshots the minute I tried to call them about their fraudulent activity and I recommend everybody frequently take screenshots of their accounts. They now claim my bank is the one committing the illegal activity and not them, even though I have screenshots of both accounts showing otherwise.

One screenshot shows Lending Club actually refunded the payment they illegally took out on a paid off loan in the amount of $510.68 on December 7, 2018 (listed as an external deposit from Lending Club) when I called them regarding this and not my bank taking the payment back as they claim. Another screenshot from my bank account shows they took this exact payment out on December 3, 2018 after the loan had already been paid off even though they repeatedly lie and state they did not (them lying can also be verified on the screenshot from my Lending Club account, they tried stating they took $0 out because $0 was due on a $0 loan balance... Also stated on their "recorded" line that they did in fact take the payment).

Again proving they are committing fraud and lying. They answered the BBB complaint only because the BBB can't take legal actions against them for their illegal activity, committing fraud, and abusing their customers by harassment and blackmail to destroy their customers' credit if they don't pay an undisclosed ransom at their random demands after a loan is already paid off in full. However they refuse to even acknowledge the FTC lawsuit or the CFPB complaints filed because of the fact they know they are committing fraud and would have to admit to this or be exposed with several customers.

The screenshots I have taken from my actual Lending Club loan account also verify they again are lying and committing fraud about extra payments being owed as there is $0 due even though again they fraudulently took out a full payment anyhow (payment taken out was shown in bank account screenshot and they show they took $0 out on my website but on their "recorded" line admitted they knew they took it out anyhow and would refund it, which they did). Then they make a generic verbatim threat on my BBB complaint of pursuing collection agencies on these fraudulent charges which is again threatening to destroy my credit based on a loan that has already been paid off but they demand ransom money again.

Also seen in this same screenshot are the payments made in November totaling $16,665.35 on a $16,175 loan principal amount and the interest for the 28 days was paid in the amount of $490.35 (over the loan amount) leaving a $0 balance and paying off the loan. Another screenshot of my actual Lending Club loan account shows a $0 balance, that $0 is overdue, and that there are 0 payments remaining. With this showing proof of them committing fraud during and after the fact, how does a $510.68 a month payment (which includes the interest) require over $1200 a month in interest alone to be paid within a 28 day period on a $0 balance? They refuse to correct it and close my account, instead threatening to destroy my credit if I don't pay their new ransom amount which started out over $300 (on top of the $490.35 already paid to them), now they added on over $500 and demand over $800 in total more on a paid off loan.

If you have great credit, and mine is not that bad, you are not offered a 38.99% APR! The Lending Club is taking advantage of people who really need the debt help, and I hope that when someone reads this they reconsider and look elsewhere. No one should ever pay this high of interest on anything! Check with other companies first! My highest current merchant credit card (Macy's) is at 28% and that was the one I wanted to pay off. Be smart and look elsewhere.

I recently paid off a $35000 loan from Lending Club early. Since then, my credit score is near 800, my credit utilization ratio is 15%, and I’ve had my own dental practice for 10 years earning $240000/year. After paying off my loan I responded to an email saying to apply again for better rates since I have been a great customer. I applied for their line of credit product and was immediately declined and told I need a guarantor. This is ridiculous. I don’t know what automated underwriting system they use now, but it’s clearly different than what they used a year ago. A year ago, my credit utilization was over 80%, I had other loans, my credit score was 720, my income was 200k, and I was approved instantly for 40k. Now, at 15% utilization, no loans, 799 credit score, and 40k more income I am declined for and simple line of credit. Lastly... THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE!

I’ve had a loan through Lending Club for almost 2 years and have been unable to get a hold of this company since my approval. I’ve never received a statement and when I call them it disconnects me after being told to enter my SS#. I’ve tried emailing them several times and receive the generic “A representative will be contacting you in a couple of days to resolve your issue”, only to never hear back from anyone. I have no clue how much I owe to pay off my loan, when my last payment date is, or even how much interest I’ve been paying. They just auto deduct my payment monthly. So they have all my personal info, including my banking info, but yet I can’t even get a hold of a real person or even the automated line to check my account status. I should have only a year or so left of payments but they could continue to deduct after that and I’d have no recourse since I can’t even check my account. Never again would I do business with them!

I applied to Citizens and in 18 hours after applying was approved and money was received today. No fee and lower interest. So I want to thank you for forcing me into a situation where I saved 900 fee, got lower interest rate and was treated nice. I have and will tell everyone I know about this great deal. This organization has enticed me to apply multiple times. I am vulnerable and need to build my credit so I have to take a consideration for credit seriously. One would expect the research and reasons for a rejected application to be accurate at the very least with a professional lending syndicate. The information relayed to me cited a wrong credit score, a ratio that was unlikely, and claimed delinquencies when there have been none for a normative amount of time.

Before I proceed, in the interest of accuracy... whatever my credit past, I was accepted for a Platinum Amex Card, and the three agencies peg me at 803, 711 and 690. Lending Club claimed my score was 690. Why is this group advertising as a reasonable loan alternative to people who are on the mend if they such sticklers? And why is their research off? Don't they have people who can read credit reports? Or call individuals who they may need more information on to process an application? Home Depot had the sense to call me and speak to me about an application. Under these conditions this is false advertising. They should be transparent and cater to, advertise to, the type of lender they want and research information accurately. They are ridiculous and a waste of time... She went through the same credit reporting company LendingClub uses, and once again... excellent! No delinquent no derogatory. So she emailed them back, they sent a copy and paste of the first email.

Last week I went to BBB to file a formal complaint on my mother’s behalf. First response back to me, they changed their story. Now it’s because her income and taxes do not match up... yeah right. Oh, they also claimed to call her and leave a message... no such thing happened. I sent them another message. Their second message back to me was (surprise surprise) a copy and paste of their first email. I replied a third time. Their third reply was issue had been resolved. Which, once again, is a lie. Either they have extremely lazy and unqualified people who work there or it’s ran all by computer programs. My mom applied for a loan at Quickie Loans, never an issue. I am a REAL person - I lend MY own money to people through Lending Club. It is NOT a scam, they do NOT ask you to buy gift cards or wire money. Seriously, doesn't anyone do their homework anymore? DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO! I don't care WHAT they say they have of your personal info. Lending Club is a legitimate business and I make legitimate money lending to people that pay interest on their loans. My only complaint is the amount of people that default on their loans... Meaning I lost my money. I am not happy with the rate of return at this time, but it is a risk that I chose to take.

Do I think they need to step up their screening process? HELL YES. Nobody wants to lose money. Regarding some of these other reviews where you think this is some kind of Indian scam... That's NOT LENDING CLUB. That is someone pretending to be them or some other well known company. Wake up and pay attention! If you went and purchased gift cards to give to someone you don't know because you think they are associated with a real company - then YOU are an IDIOT. Lending Club is a real company, a legitimate lending club if you will. I am one of the investors that lends MY money on these loans and hopefully I can make a little bit of extra money to help support me and my kids doing so. Good luck out there... But please pay attention to your personal information.

Recently, they have been calling several times a day every day. I tried to explain to them my payment plan which they refused while saying that I am refusing to pay and non-committal. I felt like I was being pressured and harassed to sign up for an automatic payment plan which I declined to do so. I felt she continued to harass me even though I explained several times what I was comfortably able to do.

I was approved for up to 30k. Applied for 18,000. Received message "Your loan has been approved and 100% funded". Next day "Your money is on its way". Then, "We made payments totaling $0 on your behalf to the accounts you listed. Keep in mind it can take up to four additional business days to receive..." So then it instructs me to click the Truth in Lending Disclosure, and GUESS WHAT? It goes to a link that says Adverse Action letter "We cannot approve your loan at this time" stating the reason as "Insufficient payments on current Lending Club account". I DON'T HAVE ONE.

So now on my online account profile it shows TWO application numbers, however still shows a Promissory Note and Loan Documents, and Still says my 18K loan has been ISSUED. Readers, I ASSURE YOU, nothing has been transferred to my account. I called customer service, and was told there is a "glitch in the system," and advised not to worry. Ha! The only thing I'm worried about at this point is my bank account being compromised. I will update if something changes in the next few days.

After receiving approximately 15 offers for a "pre-approved" personal loan, I applied for a loan on 11/18 to consolidate debt. I was sent an approval notice that day, and was asked for paystubs. Those were sent then I was asked for W-2. Then a few days later I was asked for my tax return. After providing all of the requested information, I was told that they could not verify the amount of income I claimed, though ALL of the documents proved the amount of income I claimed.

When I called to ask how they arrived at their number ($5000 less than I earn), the supervisor Emily said that the loan agent Pallar would not give her that information. I asked to speak to Pallar and was told that he (?) refused to speak to me and would not say how they arrived at their lowered figure. I have used this company before and never had a problem, but the fact that they have employees who can't read a W-2, paystub or tax return is troubling. They are refusing to give me any information and this needs to be rectified.

Terrible. Do not lend! You will lose your money. The company promises great returns but unqualified borrowers will default on you. They do not actually screen borrowers, they just accept their stated qualifications and income. I was very foolish to believe their posted reviews and projected income, and my loans (I have made thousands of loans with them) are universally losing money. Instead of being at the projected 8%, I am minus 3% and it will only get worse. Try the stock market, for as crazy as it is, it is safer because it takes longer for companies to default than for unqualified individuals!

I made a payment error. Contacted the company, they told me there is nothing they can do, and to contact my bank. So I did. My bank got my funds back. I made a big error by adding a zero to my payment which made it a 10,000 payment instead of 1,000. This was an extra payment anyways. Now LC has me as delinquent and all of my payments will be going to the delinquent amount of 10,000 and not the remaining balance of 4800. So the 4800 will sit and collect late fees and penalties while my payments go to an amount that shouldn't be delinquent in the first place.

So we got a loan to improve our credit and now it is going to go down the drain again. Wondering if I should just let the whole darn thing go delinquent. What's the point. I should let it go to collections and settle later on since it's never going to be considered current until the 10 grand is paid off. One little mistake and all hell breaks loose. They tell me to contact my bank but I did not know the repercussions of doing so. Lending Club gets a F in my book and they aren't even willing to help me. First I was completely shocked to see my monthly payment was $1,350 per month... this is completely outrageous and it's a total budget buster. For reference I have another $25,000 loan through another lender and the payment is $250 per month. Okay it's bad enough, right? What else could go wrong?

Well today I had to reach out to them to ask for a deferment (Pretty standard stuff) due to a hardship, I won't go into detail but it's pretty serious personal situation that's going to require adjusting payments around and working through some troubling times for the next few months. I was told that they do not offer altered payment arrangements and that the only thing they could do is accept the payment up to 14 days late for the grace period. The next day I only had 100 dollars on me and I called them and another employer said that it's ok to put then 100 into another Apple iTunes card then once I get the amount I was trying to borrow just pay the remaining 100, so I said "ok that perfect." But then I had to wait them to call me. After a couple of hours I called back and they said the system was not letting them complete the transaction because I had remaining 100 and I had to pay that first but I was out of cash, so I told them to give me another day to put the remaining 100.

Then the next day I called back again and told them that I was ready to put the 100 into iTunes card, I got mad out of nowhere when they told me it was actually 150 because the 50 dollars was the late fees, meaning I have to pay 50 dollars every day until they finished. So I once they approved you that day then you have to do everything they need that day so you won't have to pay 50 dollars fee. It's 50 every late day until you pay everything and get the loan amount you want, but the good this is you get those money back with the amount you borrow! Anyway when I paid everything they told me to wait 45 min but it past so I called back and they said 10 more min then everything will be done. Past 10 min I called back again and nobody was answering the phone. It was Saturday then Sunday they closed so I have to wait till Monday but I don't know if that will be another 50 or not!

In other words, I need to take photos of my documents or scan them to my computer. I didn't have a printer so I couldn't scan the documents and I had never used my phone's camera. Because I am physically disabled, I couldn't take photos that meet their requirements. (All four corners of the page had to be in the photo and, of course, the photo couldn't be blurry.) Because I am physically disabled, I couldn't take the needed photos.

I talked with a Customer Service Representative and I was repeatedly told the same thing as if it was a recording that I couldn't mail the documents and all four corners of a page had to be in a photo. My local Mail Carrier would have come to my front door and picked up my mail, if I could have sent the documents to their mailing address. If I had known that I couldn't use the United States Postal Service to submit the loan documents, I would have never started the loan process. I was amazed that this company had no respect for a person with disabilities. It speaks to their integrity. It would be easy for people without disabilities to ignore my review but I hope this company isn't rewarded with business without making their business practices equal and available to all persons who otherwise qualify for a loan.

I signed up with Lending Club because my dentist offered it as a payment plan for an orthodontic treatment I got last year. I have had the WORST experience ever!!! I am someone who is extremely scrupulous about paying my bills on time and my credit score is a testament to the fact. But Lending Club seems to keep coming up with novel ways of charging me late fees. First they did not send me a statement in the mail for 2+ months after signing up for the payment plan. I called their customer service at around the 1 month mark and they assured me that they hadn't started billing yet. I'd receive my first bill in the mail soon and didn't need to do anything before then.

When I didn't get anything in the mail for another month, I called again and this time was told that my account was past due for the first month and was assessed a late fee. After a 30 min harrowing conversation where the customer service agent repeatedly told me to use the account number on my paper statement to sign up for online payments and I repeatedly clarified that the issue was that I had not received any paper statements, I was finally able to get set up online and pay. I had to ask to speak to a supervisor to get the late fees waived and she did so pretty reluctantly after another 20 mins worth of conversation.

Also, they do not offer any way of setting up recurring payments for the fixed monthly installments either online or over the phone. For a company whose marketing mantra is to "help people get out of debt" they seem to be working extra hard to keep you from making timely payments. Anyway, all of last year, I have been tracking the statement date on my calendar and going in and making my payments online when I get the reminder. This January I did make my payment a day after the due date because I had to travel out of the country unexpectedly due to a family member's death. I went online immediately on my return (unfortunately it was a day after the due date) and it did not occur to me to add the late fee to my payment because it was not showing on my account yet.

I also set up my Feb payment for the standard installment amount. At the end of Feb, I get a call from Lending Club saying my account is past due. I am surprised by this because I remembered having set up the Feb payment online. The agent confirms that a payment was made in Feb but it was for $5 less than the due amount. He is not able to explain why the amount dues is $5 more than normal. I go ahead and make the $5 payment plus the amount he tells me is due for March. I ask the agent repeatedly if there are any fees, fines, etc. due on my account and he assures me that I have not incurred any fees and after making the payment, my account is current.

Today, I went online to make my April payment and see that I have a $35 fine for Jan (which is legitimate) and another $35 fine for Feb and minimum charges for Feb & Mar when I have made early payments for both of those months. I call customer service to get an explanation for the fees I don't understand. They tell me that I was supposed to pay $5 more in Feb towards the late fee I incurred in Jan. I rationalize that I had no way of knowing I had to pay the $5 more for Feb since the extra charges did not reflect when I went in to make my Feb payment. I paid the $5 as soon as I received a call informing me they were due.

Also, charging me $35 for a payment being $5 seemed a bit unfair. I am given some circular explanation for how I am supposed to track my balances accurately. When I ask for the possibility of waiving the $35 for Feb since I wasn't in reality late, I am told that I'm not eligible since I already received a waiver last Feb (remember the $25 I was charged without ever receiving statements!).

I move on and ask about the additional minimum charges assessed in Feb & Mar. Am again told that I paid $5 less in Feb. I say I paid the $5 and exactly the additional amount the Lending Club agent told me was owed later in Feb. So, why another charge in March? A lot of fumbling in response and finally... you can guess by now... "You paid $5 less in March". At this point I give up and ask for a supervisor or a way to provide feedback. I am told there is no supervisor on call and they send out occasional customer feedback surveys. I should be getting one in my email in 3-6 months. At that point I hung up!

My opinion of Lending Club and how little they care about customers continues to get worse! I tried to look for places where I could leave feedback directly. Was giving them the benefit of doubt and thinking if they heard the details of my experience directly they'd try to fix things. I could find no way of providing my feedback directly to Lending Club online.

They do have a customer review page on their website (https://reviews.lendingclub.com/) but no way of adding a review on it. You can only publish a review if they deem you worthy enough that they request it from you. And people like me who merely want to pay their bill on time and not be charged fees are clearly not worthy! Anyway, they also seem to manipulate the reviews on their site. When I sorted the reviews by low to high rating, not a single 1 star review has negative comments to go with it. Instead 1 star ratings say things like "Outstanding... The loan will really help pay off most of my debt, furthermore it would be very helpful to anyone who is granted when no one else would. Thank You!!!" and "Great feature... I didn't have many issues but everyone I spoke with was helpful. Especially by setting expectations around payments and what was required of me. It was easy and did not require extra effort on my end to get the application complete. Not much else I can say here other than it made sense. The interest rates with Lending Club were on par with what I saw with Prosper for A+ credit members which I fall into. 6-9% from what I remember. The tools here again made sense and were online with what I expected them to be from a company of this caliber. The app was decent as well.

They were quick with all of my questions. I really appreciated their expertise with all of my questions. They are a model business for which others to follow. They did a great job explaining all of the questions that I had. I expected less and ended up with more. I had a lot of questions however on some of the paperwork. It did get confusing to be honest. I'm glad that I had help in order to get it down right the first time. I would say that I had a good experience overall. I think that the rates and terms were to standard and explained to me the right way the first time. I think that the online tools was very helpful. I think that the website was very helpful to get me ready. This is something that the company must keep as I think it is a great tool for consumers.

If they ask you to purchase an iTunes card do not do it. They are scamming you and you cannot get your money back. They will tell you are approved but they want you to download money on iTunes cards which they scan and take, then when they tell you funds are available at Western Union by the time you get there to pick it up from lender they already collected it electronically in your name with your ID number so be aware of this. When ask for refund of course they want you to pay a fee to get your money back that you never get.

Good service for the most part. Service was fair and agents were a professional, although they could have been more detailed when explaining the costs. Application process if I had to explain it, was fairly straightforward. The application process was very comparable to other similar organizations and I didn't have to try very hard. The terms were a bit high for the quality of service we received. In the end, the terms and costs were probably too high and we would do more research before paying that much again. The online tools available were fairly standard and those you would come to expect from this type of company. I wish there were more customization features however.

Received a Pre-Approved Loan letter from Lending Club and, despite my reservations and encouragement to use the Pre-Approval from Prosper, I went ahead with Lending Club based on their tenure. Surprise! I was denied based on, according to them, my credit records. My thinking, and experience with all other lenders, was that a Pre-Approval was based on factors deemed favorable. So now, not only is my credit score dinged, I never got the fund. Same score that I used to obtain a mortgage approval. My grouse is that I wouldn't have bothered except that it was a Pre-Approval. The letter was clear in the statement saying "You have already been pre-approved for a loan up to $40,000." Don't let them get you with the same ruse.

Quick to answer when contacted, helpful and thorough, knowledgeable. When I contacted them I was presented with options I did not even think of. I was able to gather all documents before I began the application process. It was very clear, fairly simple, relatively quick, and I had an answer right away. As always I would like to have lower rates, wouldn't we all, but my credit had a large impact in that. Overall I would say my rate is fair. The online tools are easy to use and understand especially the calculator. I have used the online resource several times and never had an issue.

For those considering a loan from Lending Club, let this review serve as a testament to move forward. Although skeptical at first, I did some research and read review after review until my decision was made. If you take the emotion out of the review, either good or bad, it is easier to make an informed decision and decide if this is a viable alternative to credit unions, banks or other entities. The process was extremely easy and when I applied, I was told upfront that their platform for investors had a lot of applications and the process would take about 14 days. Here is the good part - The process took 14 days if you count just the business days.

The process - I applied online, then received my offer. I thought about it for a couple of days, called Lending Club and visited with what appeared to be an extremely knowledgeable representative that answered any and all of my questions concerning loan amount, interest rate, approval process and any other aspect of my application. I only had to verify my email address after the review of my application and the rest is history. I received my funds in my bank account without any additional requirements. I did not have to provide any additional income verification or banking information. This all happened in 14 days!!

There are many negative reviews on many sites, however my experience does not fit that genre, so I opted to write this review to relay my experience in this process from Lending Club. I would recommend giving them an opportunity to help you in whatever way is possible. If I had not been approved, the process was still very easy and I would have to be honest and understand the reasoning behind the denial, had I not received an approval. Thank you Lending Club for the opportunity to have a relationship with your company as a borrower and I may soon become an investor!!

I was spoken to in a polite tone and told all my concerns would be handled promptly. The application process took less than 5 minutes to complete. It was intuitive, interactive and helpful. I had no issues while performing this. I received the best rates and returns I could with no hassles or loose ends. The rates were not variable and it was locked in on the life of my loan. The online tools were simplified, easy to use and informative. I could use it for verification and to project my loan plan. It was simple and I had no tech issues.

Lending Club is good for the new initiated. It needs more simplicity and form, function as said. They need to get out there and make a move to make it accommodating. A better environment for up to the date interests and appliances. I find everything a lot smoother when it's here and now. I can take the hint that this is a better lending app center than the rest. It feels very personified and dignified.

This was the second place I applied for a small business loan. The application process was very easy to follow. I have friends that had recommended Lending Club as they had used them and gave them a great recommendation. I do have a great credit score, I believe this helped. I provided the information requested and was approved quickly. Their terms were clear and easy to understand. And their loan rates are lower than almost of the corporate banking/ lenders. I would recommend Lending Club without hesitation.

The auto payment process was good until I decided to make extra payments. Even though the agreement allows a client early repayment, in fact, they do NOT process larger payments within 2-4 biz days as they claim. It took my $1,000.00 payment over 15 days to get processed! My next regular payment of $338.71 took over 5 days to process. They also mess up your account information including remaining balance. The final last payment should be $468.04 incl interest, but for some reason they want me to pay over $550. My remaining balance doesn't changed at that. They change the numbers as they wish without changing the remaining balance!

According to them regardless of how much your recent payment is the remaining balance won't change meaning you will NEVER pay off your loan according to them. The responsiveness is poor too. They claim a client can address his/her issues either by email or phone - forget it! Neither works. I do not recommend this business to anybody. Stay away from trouble, folks.
