I invested $30,000.00 and saw the value was around $20,000.00 a year later and called to see what happened. Investment was in mostly silver and some Gold, silver had gone down a little but gold had gone up. Spoke with Todd and it got heated so I cashed out and invested in conventional IRA. In 2 months I gained most of loss back. Todd told me I was crazy. Never use Lear Capital.

With a $35000 investment my money was reduced to $24000 based on the coin purchase price. The process was moving at such a fast pace that it produced a poor decision on my part. If I could reverse the deal I would!

I am still trying to speak to my rep to find out how I was sold one-tenth ounce gold coins which is the most costly and far less bang for your buck when I set up an IRA. No phone call returned after promising to do so on May 1st, and emails not completely answered yet. Why would I agree to buy 107 tenth-ounce coins for $255.70 each which equates to a $2,557 per ounce gold price. That type of coin was never discussed or seen in brochures. I have no record of sending in an electronic signature of a shipping agreement via email and have doubts I could have sent it being that I left for the airport right after our recorded phone call which I have requested but have yet to hear it.

Ordered silver #**. Sent a check, got no confirmation that Lear received it, when I called and emailed to ask about it, I didn't get any response, so I ordered more silver from Blanchard and Co. I will never use Lear again. Customer service is horrible.

Silver Maple Leaf coin order. I placed my order online but this time it was required to send a check instead of the usual credit card process. As soon as the check cleared, the order was processed and I received a Fedex tracking number. Lear is in Santa Monica but I watched the package go to NJ and another place before arriving at my location. It was delivered in perfect condition even with the out of the way trip. The coins were nicely packaged and in beautiful condition. Made we wish I had purchased more. Seeing the coins on the website is nothing like seeing the shining silver in your hand. Next time I will save up for gold.

Great Experience. I have purchased coins from Lear multiple times. The ordering process is always easy and shipping was delivered in a discreet manner. I have always received freshly minter and well packaged coins.

My payment was received by you on March 13 and I was told it would ship out in no more than 17 days. I did not receive my package until April 21. I was sent tracking information two times. The first supposed shipment was never sent. I was not kept informed as to what was happening with my order and I started doubting wether I would even get it. Part of my problem is that I could not get through on the phone and was not getting response to my messages. I did finally receive my order and am relieved to finally get it.

Placing an order was pretty difficult after speaking to several people at Lear Capital. I made a purchase online, mailed the check the same day and was later told my check did not arrive quick enough. Due to high demand my order would be canceled and if I wanted to use a broker at $5000 minimum I could place a new order. I am a first time buyer and purchased a small amount to see how it all works. A few weeks later I received an email saying my order would be shipping soon. All in all, my first experience with Lear Capital was not all that pleasant.

As a novice, a first-time buyer of gold coins I didn’t have the slightest idea of how to go about it. I phoned Lear for information and to judge whether or not I would want to do business with the company. I spoke with Gary ** and after a long conversation knew I had lucked out, and placed my order. When a family member became very worried about the cost of my purchase, Gary had a long conversation with her, putting all her fears at rest. We have dealt with Terry four (4) times...Once from New Mexico and three (3) from AR. The last shipment went to a four-year-old address. He should have listened to the recording of the x-action. We eventually got our silver AFTER a few calls to confirm the correct address. All's well, but shouldn't have happened this way. The NM address must be erased, Terry. Pull your head out!

Buyer beware! Apparently Lear contracts are worthless. The reason given for Lear Capital canceling my order.."we can't sell below our cost". Sorry Lear! I contracted with you at a price you offered. I can't cancel an order when the value decreases. I suspect my order was canceled to fulfill another "larger client's" order. The little guy is screwed again!!

I can be here all day writing about the vague information this company gives you on the fees that they charge you to do business, most of which they told me after I transferred the money into their ira. Then when it came down to actually purchasing the gold they charged me like 300.00 more per coin than they were actually worth. I believe they call it an ask to cost fee of 15.44% for this transaction. They tell you to refer to a fee schedule for information on their fees, but didn't provide it until I called back and asked them to mail it to me. Also they tell you they will give you 2%free gold or silver on this transaction so when I never received it I called to ask where it was and they told me it didn't apply to bullion. I would never purchase anything from this company again. What a rip off.

Canada 10-oz silver orca (whale). Fairly painless process to order a single coin (except for the shipping charge). Have ordered once or twice in the past, and it was more of a hassle than this time. My other wish is that LC could take credit cards or PayPal in payment.

I purchased $ 56,000 dollars worth of Swiss Francs. Pre. 1950. Was told that because no more of these coins were available that they would be more valuable. The price was 430 plus dollars per coin so I asked what the size of the coin was. I was told they were quarter ounces .2500 so I agreed to purchase them even if they were over 200.00 above spot because they were the last of these coins.

When I decided to move some of my retirement to Precious metals I used Lear Capital. Within a week of the account setup I lost $30K and it's never recovered. I called Lear Capital and their response was "Well you still have your coins right?" I then was talked into transferring my silver into Gold coins and again I now have coins but lost another $8K but I still have my coins. Getting an IRA with precious metals to me it a joke and will not do it again.

In April of 2019 I placed 50k of an Ira to be placed in gold and silver with Lear Capital. Well they aggressively recommended silver coins and some gold since silver was looking so favorable, So like a fool I allowed them to do so. Well the day after the trades my portfolio of 50k invested was now worth 32k. They placed my account in silver collectible coins at $26 each with their silver market at 14.90. They also invested half in gold bars which went in at market price. When I questioned why they screwed me the reply was, "Just hang on. You’re going to be pleased in the future." The future never happened and then out of the blue I received a call from Lear stating that platinum was at a historic low and they could make the losses in my account look quite favorable by moving the $41k to platinum, and yes you guessed it I did.

Nice communication - acknowledgement of order, shipping notice. Response time seemed a bit long from acknowledgement of payment to notice of shipping. I see that you offer faster shipping when paying with credit card, so I'll try that next time.

My husband paid $20,000 for 520 coins that are only worth approximately the spot price of $13,400. The salesman told my husband that there is a semi-numismatic value of over $6,000. That was a lie. The semi-numismatic value is zero. My husband believed he could cancel the order within seven days if he was dissatisfied. He found out he had that option only if he paid with a credit card. The salesman made sure my husband paid with a check so he would not have that option. I filed a complaint to the Office of the Texas Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division. I will also file a complaint to the Attorney General of the City of Santa Monica, CA. I will plead that my 76 years old husband is a victim of elder abuse. He is naive, trusting, and forgetful.

I thought the lines of communication were open and broker was helpful before our purchase of metals. We were walked through all the paperwork and procedures. However after the purchase and set up of our IRA I had a hard time getting a response to a question I had. I had the feeling that once sale was made we just are not important anymore.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone I know. Lied to about Markup and later was told that was Premium. Told it would weigh about 400 pounds, ended up being about 225 pounds. Told I was buying in at $15.54, net at $15.22 when factoring in promotional coins. Reality was closer to $39. Two weeks later silver was up to $17.22 but my $100k investment was now worth $67k. Totally lied to over and over again. Played a game of semantics. Thinking of buying precious metals IRA up to a million but won’t invest another penny.

I opened an IRA with Lear Capital in April of 2019. I funded the account with a check for $6,500.00 and then spoke with an agent from Lear to purchase silver with the funds in the account. On the date of the invoice Lear sent to me, 4/30/2019 the spot price for silver was approximately $14.96 per oz. The person who sold me the silver spoke to me on the phone and said that I would be buying 1 oz. rounds (not coins) and I would pay just over the spot price for it.

I was very satisfied with the level of assistance I received during the roll over from my 401k. All persons involved were helpful, and kind. I was a bit overwhelmed in the whole experience. But with the level of concern expressed by your people that it made me at ease once the process was taken care of. Thanks.

Every one at Lear Capital was very efficient, attentive, knowledgeable and polite. However, the FedEx delivery person delivered the silver to the wrong address and the wrong person signed for it. I notified Lear Capital by email over the weekend by Monday when I called my agent, he had already reported the issue to FedEx. The delivery error, of course, was not the fault of Lear Capital and I was happy with the speed at which they reported it to FedEx and then got in touch with me. I was also very pleased with the donated extra coins in the shipment.

I decided to take my Referral Rewards for two referrals. I selected the 1/10 oz gold walking liberty coin. After not hearing from anyone after a week, I called and was advised that the coin would go out the next day. I received 3 1/2 oz Artic Fox silver coins instead on July 31. I called and talked with Jason about that I had ordered the 1/10th oz gold coin. He said that Lear doesn't do that anymore. I explained that it's still on the website. So, he said that he would honor it and would send a mailer to return the silver coins with the gold one. After a week I called Jason and asked when I could expect it to be shipped. He said that it would go out that afternoon or the next day and that I would recieve a tracking number. This was a week ago and I still haven't got a tracking number. I do not think that the Lear agent gave me enough information about the Canadian coin they recommended and for which they are the sole distributors. I believe they sold my coins to a wholesaler and then bought them back at at a small premium from the wholesaler to resell retail. The huge profit from such transactions explain how Lear can spend so much on ads to attract retail buyers like me. I would have been much better off if I had bought Morgan silver dollars.

Your staff is helpful and courteous. I enjoy working with them. The FedEx requires that I have to be available on the delivery date from noon until 8pm. Can that be narrowed down a little? 8 hours is a pretty big window. And last time they were late.

Lear has always treated us with respect and a high amount of knowledge to draw upon. This time Dan called to introduce himself and to advise us how we could improve our account. His advice was sound and very timely. He seemed like a caring guardian which is greatly appreciated.

I was purchasing gold and silver by weight. I repeatedly told the salesman Alex ** I did not care about the form of the gold, I did not want to pay for a coin's value as well as the gold. I am not a coin collector. It was very plainly stated during the sale. I even told him why I did not want coin value. That I had contacted Roselin Capital prior to Lear and did not want to buy coins that were supposedly worth more than the price of the gold. I did not buy from them for that very reason.

This was my first time investing in precious metals, after hearing great reviews from a podcast I listen to I decided to go with Lear Capital. I have no regrets! The process was made very simple and I felt like all my questions were answered. Thanks again!

Gary ** was my original contact and we finalized a transfer from my 401k investing in gold and silver coin. The first time I received a statement from the custodian I almost had a stroke. My initial investment had already lost nearly 30 percent of its value. Mr. ** assured me that the custodian's value is based on spot, or bullion price and I had nothing to worry about. Well that did not pan out. Three years into it my account value is down 55 percent. I have a new account representative and he recommended we convert to platinum. I guess we will see. All I do know is if I had left that money in the original account I would have a 9 percent gain. I do not recommend this group to any one. Do your home work and buyer beware!

They are polite. Understanding and very happy work with you and the way they talk very nice people. I always buy coins from Lear Capital. They're great people. I enjoy talking to them. If I get more money I will invest lear capital.

Yes, I recently purchased gold & silver coins. And I don't appreciate the "huge" mark-up I was charged. I paid approx. 530$ per gold coin, that was only worth 328$ at current prices. Not a good deal! My coins would "have" to increase 50: percent just to break even!
