I got out of the military a few years ago and quickly found that civilian jobs do not pay half as much as the military. I manage to pay my bills but there are those months when I come up a bit short and need to put gas in my car and buy groceries or get an unexpected bill that needs to be paid immediately. Getting a small loan online through Check 'n Go has always been simple and has proven a lifesaver for me more than once. They do charge fees but the fees are stated upfront when you sign the contract.
The important thing with any of these payday loan companies I think is to just take what you need and no more. Although I have been approved for a larger loan I always figure up what I need and take the least amount possible. These loans should only be taken in the event of an emergency when all other options have been exhausted. Although the fees are a bit high, as a single mom I'm glad these companies are around to help out in a pinch when needed. I've never really had a problem with customer service, doing everything completely online I've never even really dealt with customer service or anyone from Check 'n Go for that matter. The process is pretty simple and streamlined.
Harassed for a debt that I didn't even make. I got a call from an unknown number today. As I don't have any bill collectors banging down my door, I answer it. This gentleman asks when he can deliver a "legal notice" and I ask him what a legal notice is. He immediately transfers me to this woman saying a claim has been made from Check 'n Go. I explain that couldn't be the case. The banking information is wrong, the email is wrong, but everything else was my info. I asked her for more information and even stated I wasn't in the country at the time of this transaction and her words were "Well that is why you would get a payday loan".
She kept asking me for more and more info, pressuring me until I shut down and said, "This isn't me, I would rather know how to figure out who to contact" and she kept saying the "legal notice" would take care of that and hung up on me. My privacy was taken advantage of, I was accused of something wasn't me, as well as called a liar. I am extremely upset at this situation and since the number was unknown, I don't know who to call back.
I feel I have been mislead and taken advantage of by Ck N Go. I went to the location in Rio Rancho, NM and I qualified for a 5,000 payday loan with a payment of $353.00. I was told the loan was simple interest and I could pay off at any time or renew at a lower payment without paying it off. I did not want the 5,000 loan because the payments were too high but the sales person when I was told I could refinance the loan at a smaller payment I decided to do it.
I have had many payday loans and have never had the issues I have with Ck N Go. When I went in to refinance after the 6th payment I was told that I had to put down 1/3 of the balance to principal!!! I said, "That is not what I was told and there is nothing in my contract that states that." I have also learned since that this is not a simple interest loan. It is computed so they add the interest onto the principal, and almost nothing from my payments is going to the principal. I have been paying since last year and my balance is only 100.00 less. And now I can't find another company that will loan me the 4900 so I can pay this off!
They are a scam company and I have complained and given feedback to Corporate with no results. Also they are suppose to automatically debit my account for payment. Well they did not so I went in to pay cash and then sure enough the following week they charged me without notification. I will never do business with this company again and warn others to stay away.
They took copy of my checking account, driver license, social security card, pay stubs, w-2 forms and written application and had me print out forms. Whole process took over an hour. Undisclosed representative told me that my credit score was not a deciding factor and all I needed were pay stubs and my checking account information. Then, she denied me and refused to give me back copies of my personal information. Store # 1015 employee refused to tell me her named or employee identification. She then said after 20 days they will shred my information.
After the Denied application, she hands me a privacy statement, when I mentioned my concern that she wouldn't tell me an employee identification and she took all my personal checking account information etc., she told me it was secure and no worries. She gave me no proof that I even applied. After reviewing the long small print form, it states they "sell your phone number and personal info to telemarketers and unlimited marketing firms!"
I referred a friend who got a loan. I have not been able to get a answer as to how to get the refer a friend money. I have asked the employee at the branch several times about this. She says she sent an e-mail as how to redeem the refer a friend deal, I did not!! receive any e-mail from Check N Go.

I called to pay off my installment the loan. I was told after 12 installments... over $3000. I still owe $2100. Which is the amount I borrowed. Not one payment went towards paying off the loan. It all went to interests payments. I will never get another loan nor do I recommend anyone doing any type of business with this company.
I have occasionally used Check N Go to take out small loans over the last 2-3 years. Recently I needed to take out a larger loan but I knew I'd be able to pay it off quickly. The principal on the loan was $1800, in a month I had made $990 payments. I called to find out what my payoff amount was and I was told $1780! Yet the loan wasn't scheduled to be paid off for another 3 months. Apparently the interest doesn't accrue but they tack it on from the BEGINNING. This means even if you pay off early they still charge you full interest! I have never had a lender do this. Inequitable and subversive business practices. When I applied the first thing I asked was about the interest and whether or not an early payoff would result in reduced fees. I was told yes! Nothing in the original paperwork states that interest is added initially and not accrued. True scammers.
This company was ok to deal with until I missed a payment. From that point forward they wished to exterminate me from earth. I've had several loans paid on time 100% and paid off within just a few months. This last time my circumstances turned far worse and I got behind. Instead of talking me through options, they told me there was nothing they could do to help me and told me to borrow from someone else. If I could do that I wouldn't have come here to them for a loan. The third time I called for a solution and said I could pay a small payment I asked if that would prevent my auto debit from coming out with the full amount. I was told my auto debit for the full amount would not go through if I made the payment. Then when I called back to make the payment and asked to verify that no additional money would be taken out of my account, they told me I made it up and no one would have given me that information. Well they absolutely did.
Then she started raising her voice that I owed them this money. I started crying and said it's five days before Christmas. She didn't sympathize and I hung up. A customer having problems shouldn't be disrespected like this. They treated me like I had been chronically late and a poor customer, which is not the situation. Then the incessant phone calls started and they called my Dad. After this conversation at Christmas I never wanted to speak to them again. I tried to call corporate and deal with them but no luck. I will never go to this company again. I am their core customer. And their core customer experiences issues where they will get behind and need help. It's inevitable. Take care of your core customer, and you'll keep their business. I'm paid off now- within a month of that conversation because I do have some resources and I'll never walk in there again. Their loss!
I will never mess with any of these companies ever again. Why? They are shady and give you the runaround. They won't give you information on when to pay back the loan at the lowest interest. They tell you that interest accrued daily yet is cheapest to pay back at the end of the money. So they lie. If you pay back your loan come the 2nd of the month then you're paying that month's interest. Pay back come the last day of the month, and you will pay only the principal and whatever daily interest is left for the month.
It's confusing as all hell and I had to talk to 3 people just to get that information because they give you the runaround. They treated me like I was asking for classified state secrets here. This company and others like it are NOT out to help you. They are strictly about making money and their customer service sucks and is shady. Everything I asked for today is information that I should have access to as the lendee. Do not do these bad credit loans. Ever. Deal with your financial instability and take the pain for a bit.
Check n Go is very good with getting all your information to approve you for a loan, however the moment you want to contact the store manager's supervisor you are given the runaround. This all started with me calling them to delay my next payment due to the fact that I was in the hospital and would not have money to cover the payment.
The store manager agreed to delay the payment and told me it would be tacked onto the end of the loan. Well come the due date, she took it out of my checking account even though she said she would not. I called her immediately and she apologized for the mistake and said she would reverse the payment... not the case. She told me she was told by her boss that she was not suppose to do that and they could not reverse the debt.
I am now overdrawn because of her mistake and no one wants to make it good. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told she could not give me his number. I searched for their corporate office, which is under Axcess Financial and was given the run around there. They did give me their dedicated ethics & fraud line, which answers, puts you on hold then disconnects you. SOME DEDICATED LINE! I then was given a district's manager phone number - who never responded. I was told to get online and log into their complaint line and someone would get back to me - GUESS WHAT - RIGHT no callback, just an email stated the complaint has been logged and will be reviewed.
I have always paid them yet they made me go through hoops just to wait for almost a month telling you your information couldn't be verified and threatening to give trade sale share all my information with anyone they choose. Then put me as a fraud. When I went to the store I've always paid and now if I was dying I'd not get a penny. My scores I've been working on are over 640 and Equifax 59 that appears the hardest to boost. So not only do payday advances loan you 5 times the limit knowing you have several loans exceeding the limit loan you anyway. I think they're at fault. Desperate women and men living below poverty and get trapped into their cycle.
I used this company for years. I was approved to borrow the full amount. Was constantly told I am a great customer... paying on time blah blah blah. I stopped using them almost a year ago. Just because my financial circumstances got better. Today, I found myself in need of a payday loan again. I took my proof of income, a check and filled out a application. Waited for over an hour because only one person was working behind the counter. Finally when my turn came I thought I was about done and could run to the bank and make my deposit. WRONG! I was told I could only borrow $179. When asked why all I was told is they have new underwriters. I was asked if I still wanted the loan and said no and asked for all my documents back.
I took them without looking them over and went back to my car. I looked at the documents and found the cashier had given me someone's income stub that was not mine. I looked at the application and it wasn't mine either! I went back into the store and was told "sorry my mistake" and was asked to wait so my application could be run again. Instead of cutting ahead of everyone I told the cashier to wait on them first. And I waited another 45 minutes. She ran my application again and the offer was $179 again. Was told again "sorry we have new underwriters" and I took the loan but returned later today to cancel it and return the check.
I chose to pay a late fee rather than the ridiculous service charge for the small loan they offered me. The cashier said these new underwriters have declined most of the frequent customers even those of us who have a great pay history. Today just proved to me this company doesn't care about its customers or loyalty. I was honest and brought back that other customer's info but I wonder how many times that has happened where the info was used illegally? As lightly as the cashier took it I find it to be very shady. No wonder they force you to agree not to sue them!
In 2005 my husband and I were divorcing. I took out a loan to get through til payday knowing I was working and the money would be there. My ex husband cleaned out the account leaving me to scramble to pay this off... which I did. I have the cancelled checks to prove it... here it is some 11 years later and I am being harassed into.paying this fee again and then some. The original loan was for 600.00 and 63.00 finance charge. Now this new fee is over 1100.00. I have agreed to pay this. I can't afford an attorney since my current husband is between jobs. I have asked repeatedly for the check numbers so that I may show them I have the cancelled checks paid. What a scam and rip off. If I could sue I would!!!
I will never go to this place again! First of all my payments are due on the first of each month. I had surgery and called and told them I needed an extra day... "Fine," they said... Well that night they put my check into my account making me over drafted. BUT, their check cleared! Well now it is the 14th of the month and I have been checking with them every day to see if I can come get another loan to make good on my bank and buy food for me and my dogs (I am on SSI so money doesn't go far) and they still say I cannot get another loan cause the check hasn't cleared!!
I have been evicted since this happened and have had nothing to eat, but yet they will not take a bank statement saying this check cleared November 2, 2016 so I can eat. What kind of people run this place??? I would not recommend this place to an enemy let alone a stranger or friend. This is the WORSE place I have ever gotten a loan from and do NOT know how to run a business or deal with customers!
Went in and got a $300 loan. When I went back yesterday to pay it the manager, nonetheless... Check the amount she was charging going to charge twice before she ran the card and come to find out today when it posted to my account she charged me an extra $225. Went in today after calling and them saying to come in and they would give me the difference, I just needed to bring in the statement. I brought it and was then told they can't give me the money for another 3 days because it is still showing as a pending transaction.
So now I'm screwed on my car payment which I was suppose to pay by tomorrow. Unless I go today at 4:30. Because I have to wait 24 hours to get another loan after I pay off one. And unfortunately the other loan place will only give me up to $170 at a time for some BS reason so I have to go back there now... I was 30 mins late to work because of this crap and I'm probably going to be at least 15 mins late coming back from lunch cause I have to drive 30 mins there and 30 back... They really screwed the pooch this time.
When my husband and I was trying to get a loan. She was very rude and arrogant. She wasn't polite at all to us. We were asking, "What kind of documents you were needing?" and she had rolled her eyes to us. When another customer came to the store to pay up and that's when she was very nice to that guy, laughing. I have a small loan from Check 'n Go and allow them to automatically deduct from my checking account monthly in the amount of $128.00. Yesterday they took out two payments instead of one. After contacting them, they said it was a computer error, but did not tell me how or when they were going to get me back my money. They said to go to my bank and see if they can help. I did that, and bank manager said they have nothing to do with that, and Check 'n Go has refused to help me get my funds back to my account. Is there anything that can be done to retrieve my funds? Please help.
When I agreed to a loan with check 'n go they agreed to withdrawal money from my account on my biweekly pay date. Well now my employer has changed payroll companies and it has gone to semiweekly. This is going to cause a negative effect on my credit all because they cannot change according to what my current pay dates are. This is extremely aggravating!!
People are waiting there for a long time and when you're next the clerk tells you, "She's next." I ask why. She said, "Because I was waiting for her to bring me the rest of her paperwork." I have been waiting for 1 hour and half and she can't help me. It's first come first serve there. Ain’t "Oh I forgot to bring my paperwork," go home and cut in front of everyone? Then when she helps you, gives you an attitude and the manager ain’t no help neither. They rude. Need new employees.
I applied for a short term $1000 dollar loan & automatically got approved! I was very happy because I needed to pay off an unexpected emergency occurrence that had befallen upon myself & children! I called to check if the loan was deposited into my account, it wasn't! I kept calling my financial institution until a representative connect me about the first payment! I had told them the loan never got deposited! The rep was very nice and so I gave him whatever information I could to help find out what had happened! After all I didn't want to pay off a loan I didn't get!
I finally got a loan from my own financial institution to pay off my emergency occurrence. I didn't have any credit so I needed a cosigner to get the loan from my bank which is why I tried Check 'n Go! I thank God Jesus Christ I found me a cosigner and got a loan! Then just yesterday I got a certified letter from Axcess Financial to file an identity theft report! I'm not sure how to go about doing that, because I don't know how it pertains to my situation!
I needed a loan so urgently but I wanted to pay it off in 6 payments (biweekly) and clear it off. For 1000 dollars, they explained that early payoff would be about 1800 if not it would 2900 if I did 12 payments. I have worked so hard to pay it off early now. After five payments I have paid 1210 already. I call in to clear my loan today and am told my balance is about 1100. That's not what I was told. So 1000 loan and paying back more than 1300 in three months. What a Rip off. It was my first time taking a loan, I regret it. Now I have learnt about other places and trust me it's a rip off. Spare yourself the pain. Go to World Finance or Security Finance or anywhere else.
I was nervous to take out a payday loan because I'd heard so many bad things, but it was an emergency and it was quick and easy for me to get a loan online through Check 'n Go. The terms of the loan were clearly explained, I knew exactly what was due and when it was due. I understood the interest rate and any fees, I never felt like the company was trying to trick me or take my money.
The day before my loan was due I realized that my paycheck would be a day late. Desperate to avoid fees and interest, I called Check 'n Go but didn't expect any leniency. To my surprise the representative I spoke to agreed to extend my due date from Tuesday to Friday. He didn't ask any questions or guilt me into anything, only assured me that no money would be taken out of my checking account until Friday and that I would not be charged any fees or interest. I was shocked, I had never been given a free extension period by a lender.
I would give Check 'n Go 5 stars but it was confusing to figure out who to contact. At first I went into my local store to ask for an extension but was told the stores cannot help online customers. I called the toll free number and was on hold for 20 minutes. I didn't realize the money would automatically come out of my account, I thought I would have to call or go online to pay it. I wish there was an option to pay early online.
Based on my experience, Check 'n Go does not deserve such terrible reviews. Yes, they will charge you fees and high interest, but that is all clearly explained to you before you agree to take out the loan. You should never take out a payday loan unless it's an emergency, but if you do have one and run into problems, just call them and ask what your options are. They were quick to help me.
Please oh please do not use this company! I had a loan all setup on July 9th approved and good to go. I called them that day to review a discrepancy in my banking info. The lady at first was very nice and cordial. She suggested we cancel the first loan, and put it thorough again, which I did. I was immediately told that I could not have a loan, and that more info was needed regarding SSDI paperwork. I searched frantically for anything I had, and found my initial one from 2014. I was told that this wasn't current enough, even though literally EVERYTHING on my bank statement and SSDI paperwork matched up. After talking to 3 employees, I asked to speak to a supervisor to get this straightened out. She not only did not straighten the situation out, she exacerbated it!
I asked to speak with her boss, and he was conveniently "Not taking phone calls." The lady thing I was told, was to show a updated SSDI award letter, and I updated that today, the 11th, and am still told that more info was needed! I've sent everything via online to these crooks! Bank statements, updated award letters, etc and still, it is not good enough for them! All of this discourse with workers, and supervisors, even though I was initially approved!?? Check 'n Go is extremely hard to deal with, argumentative with customers, and overall, seem dishonest in their practices. Save yourself the time, and headache, and DO NOT give them your business! Go with LendUp! Easy to deal with, and had my cash within 30 minutes. Check 'n Go, you should be ashamed of yourselves! This is one U. S. Army Veteran that will never deal with you again! I pray you retrain your staff.
I went into the store and asked about applying online and they said that people are usually approved by 11 am the next morning. When I looked online, the website stated that if I applied by 7 p.m. est. I would be verified the next business day. I applied on Wednesday at 5 p.m. est. I checked on Thursday morning and my app. was still pending verification. I called later that day at 5 p.m. and the rep tells me that it usually takes 24-48 hours to verify the online app. So I waited until Friday morning around 12 p.m. est and my app was still pending.
I called customer service again and this time they tell me it takes 24-48 business hours to approve an app. That means it takes 3-6 business days. I received three different answers by three different people at the same company. Not to mention that the website clearly states that your application would be verified by the next business day. If you are looking for quick cash, do not look here. Apply in the store for a quick approval.
I took out a loan, paying it back on time as agreed. I was out of town on last weekend, I contacted Check 'n Go store 251 on Cedar Ridge Rd; Duncanville, TX before the due date to inform workers I was out of town on Friday, June 24th but will return on the following Monday June 27th. I volunteered to pay the over the phone. I was told that paying over the phone was not possible. I also volunteered to pay it on Monday, June 27th when I returned back in town. I was told that I couldn't do that either by worker who lie and said her name was Nia whose real name was Bianca. No last name was ever given. I asked to speak with a manager several times, I was told that wasn't possible either. I was given his e-mail address nor his phone number to contact him regarding this issue. I was let with no recourse of action to resolve the matter. I was told that someone would call me but not one did about my concern.
I didn't have a problem with paying as agreed. In fact, I never was late on this loan. Instead Bianca who lie about her name sent the entire check through my bank account without my knowledge causing a hardship. The loan was not in default neither have I been late on this loan, I've paid as agreed. This Monday, I went in to that location as I said trying to resolve the matter but could not get anything resolved. Still today no one from the organization has contacted me regarding in this matter.
I have had numerous loans through Check 'n Go. There's a new girl working at the Crystal Lake office. Not only did she wasn't here on time but then she said that I didn't have enough to pay the loan off. I need 165.00 to pay it off but she said I needed 200 which was ridiculous. She had no manners whatsoever and she told my mother who is 70 yrs old to shut up..."You're not allowed to talk to customers." I gave her 140 dollars towards paying off the loan and she came up with a ridiculous amount I still owed. She has no business working for you. She's a embarrassment to your Crystal Lake office and needs to be terminated. She showed up at 11:00 AM with a Dunkin' Donuts ice coffee. She's doing a very poor job representing you guys. They took $177 from my bank account without notifying me. I called them and I have to say, I have never had customer service so horrible in my life. These people have no hearts and are completely unwilling to work with you. As I was explaining my situation, Jo says, "Well okay, bye bye." Seriously, what a bunch of disrespectful and unprofessional people. I hope my $177 was worth it because now I will be homeless for about 2 months. Thanks a lot.

My ex-wife needed to cash a Government check on the 26th of April 2016 (spousal support which has my name referenced on the check). Check 'n Go needed my identification in order to cash the check. I was told that I was required to fill out a 'membership/create an account' and my personal information was required (Driver's License, Social Security Number, etc.). I felt at the time that my SSN was not required, and my valid California driver's license should be sufficient (as it is anywhere else that I cash a check/do business with). The check was cashed on the 26th of April, 2016.
I had an uneasy feeling in having provided my social security number, fearing that with both SSN and Driver's License Number, I could easily be set up for identity theft. On Saturday, April 30, 2016, I performed a web search on Check 'n Go. In reading the complaints/reviews associated with Check 'n Go, I drafted a letter requesting that my membership/account be closed and all personal information deleted, with a signature line on the document that they had received my request. I informed Ryan, who I assume is the manager, that after doing a web search and reading reviews regarding Check 'n GO, I had qualms with them having my personal information.
Originally, Ryan (the one that took all of my personal information) said that he couldn't/wouldn't provide a signature on my request for my co-signer account cancellation. After stating "Let me go talk to the sheriff's department", he became more willing to talk. He stated that Check 'n Go did not maintain personal information, and that was handled by a third party that they use, Chexar. When pressed for information on how to contact Chexar in order to have my information removed from their files, he stated he did not have that information. At one point, he denied that a check cashing transaction had ever occurred at that business, up until the point that my ex-wife pulled out the paperwork from Check 'n Go relating to the transaction.
In the end, he assured me that neither Check 'n Go nor their 3rd party affiliate Chexar had a copy of my personal information (although from the runaround and untruthfulness encountered, as well as his refusal to sign/acknowledge my copy of a request to terminate my account/membership for the reasons stated, I have serious doubts that my personal information is in safe hands). I NEVER again wish to do ANY type of business with this establishment (as well as cautioning my ex-wife in regards to any future use) and in reading the numerous reviews/complaints relating to this business, I'll join the chorus of other individuals who have/had less than stellar experiences with this business model. I strongly caution all who might anticipate using Check 'n Go to use all due diligence in any transactions with them.
I needed a few dollars for some unexpected bills and Check 'n Go was quick to help me out, so I thought "Wow, this is great and how quick and helpful." Right... I wasn't exactly sure how I was to pay the money back so I read through but apparently couldn't find the answer, they were suppose to take the money on the 4th. I called on April 1 because I was paid early to pay the loan back but the agent told me "no, we will take it out automatically on the 4th like it states on the contract". I was okay with that although I would of rather paid it when I called. The money is in the bank, I was told not to do anything, it's all automatic.
I bring up my Check n Go account today to make sure it's been paid and surprise, there is a non payment notice for me, the money is in the bank and they did NOT take it out as I was told they would do, now it's fallen on me although I even tried to pay loan back early. Is this just a ploy to get me to pay more by saying I'm late??? I need answers, unless your leg has fallen off and you need medical attention and you're broke, don't use this company. This is my first loan, last loan!
