I am unable to obtain the documentation from Chase that is required to put a license plate on my vehicle. This loan closed on March 3rd and it is now March 25th. I and my husband have made repeated calls to Chase trying to get this paperwork and receive a different story each time as to why we don't have possession of the paperwork yet.
We’re not able to drive the vehicle we purchased and not able to get another vehicle to drive because we have a legal obligation on the car loan with Chase. We are currently driving a car that has a major exhaust problem and other mechanical issues. This is the car we were replacing with the vehicle that we can't put a plate on because Chase Auto Finance hasn't sent us the documentation we need. They are also expecting the first payment on this loan in about two weeks.

I've been receiving phone calls from this company since about September 2009. I don't know who they are and have never had an account with them nor will I ever. I have confirmed I am not the person with an account they are looking for, and yet I am still receiving phone calls from them telling me I owe them money. I had once confirmed, stupidly, as I saw no other way, by giving them the last 4 numbers of my SSN and promptly was told, "No, you're right, this is not you, the last 4 don't add up." Well, today went differently. I was called by 8 am, like usual, for a loan I have no idea about and instead when I called them back to clarify again and have my name and number removed again, I received TeeAna or whatever her name was. This promptly asked me for my entire social number and name. I absolutely refused and told her there was no way I would give her my information (as she'd already made me mad at this time with her attitude of, "You owe us." I do not. I owe them nothing.
That's when they started hanging up on me. I called back several times, and each time, they hung up on. Each time they refused to give out any work information. Further letting me know something just isn’t right with this company. Upon using Google and pulling up business information, I called who I thought was their business head. I was informed by Chase that, "No, you don't have an account with us. We get these phone calls all day for these people. They are trying to get your SSN so they can rob you!“ Straight from the supervisor Jesse at Chase.
So I will be opening a criminal investigation towards their company today. I urge anyone getting a phone call from these people to not give them your SSN! These people are criminal frauds! Antagonizing via phone and answering machine all too often for someone without an account with them. They have elevated my frail health due to unnecessary harassment. I am suing!

I have bought two cars from this dealership and I have never had such a horrible experience. I bought a new car and we agreed that the payments, through Chase Bank, would start in February. They called me later saying that my credit report had a fraud alert. Chase and the dealership made me submit the paperwork to lift the fraud alert 5 times! It finally got lifted in February.
We called asking when our payments were due, about the payoff to our bank. They told us that the Chase representative dealing with our case had deleted all of our information by mistake. My bank called them, asking for the payoff. They told us and my bank: "We will get it done, call you with the details, and they will contact you regarding the first payment.” These people never contacted us or my bank and they were never in the office when we would call. They finally did today, March 24th, saying that we were overdue on our payment from February.
When I called and complained, this "Sammy" guy was incredibly condescending, pretty much insinuating that I didn’t want to pay my bill. These people totally messed up with the paperwork and then tried to blame it on us. I asked to speak to a manager and this guy told me that it would be of no help and literally said: "Come whenever you want. We'll be here waiting for you to tell you the same thing," in a very challenging tone of voice.
My husband went there and the general manager was as condescending. He made that payment and immediately refinanced with our bank (which is awesome by the way, FECCCU). I will never buy from Lou Bachrodt in Coconut Creek ever again or deal with Chase bank! You could think that as a repeat customer, they would treat you nicely. What happened with customer service? These people were totally arrogant and had absolutely no respect for me or my husband. I have worked in customer service and I would never even dare to talk to a customer like that! I have no idea how people like this are kept in the people business. Because they messed up, we had late payments in both my bank and Chase. We have never been late in any payments and this has damaged a perfect track of payments with my bank.

I am currently one payment behind and have been so for several months due to unemployment. Chase calls me 10+ times a day, everyday. No matter who I talk to, everyday I am harassed. They have also started calling my friends and family members trying to get in touch with me. Even though I talk to them!

Chase Bank repossessed our vehicle. Chase asked us to pay more than $2,000, then we could get our car back. After we paid the amount, Chase would not give our car back. Chase stated that they have sold our car, even after we paid them, to bring our account current. Is that legal? They took our car, and over $2,000.00.

I've been requesting a copy for my truck title since September of '09 because I need to register it to a Washington state. Until now, it's been 6 months but no copy has been received. I've been on time on my monthly payment but I can't even use my truck because I can't register it. They want a copy of my title and Chase doesn't send me a copy.

In February 2009 I have just started a new job recently after being on short term disability for 6 months and losing my job of 11 years. Chase would call my mom’s house 3-4 times a week several times a day even after talking to me and me setting up payment arrangements. I was never the same person that called each time. I gave them my new contact info and pay check schedule and explained that payment may be a day or 2 late sometimes due to pay dates. I was told that it would be ok.
The new job was at a huge pay cut to the one when I had taken out the car loan and I was having trouble getting caught up on things. I explained this to each person I would talk to. I had been sick and missed some work so my payment was a week late. Chase started calling my mom again and harassing her wanting my work number. She told them she could not give them the number because she didn’t know the number and that even if she did know the number, I would not be able to take phone calls at work. Chase got the number some other way.
Several times they called me at work and when my supervisor would tell them I could not come to the phone, they would hang up on him then call back within the minute. This happened again and after him telling them 5 times and them hanging up on him each time. On the 6th time he gave me the phone and told me to take 5 minutes to deal with them. The lady I talked to was very rude and refused my method of payment (money order) saying I had to go pay by Money Gram which was an additional $10. I explained to her I did not have the extra money to pay it that way. She continued to argue with me and get louder.
Since I was working in a public place customers were listening to me trying to tell her I would mail the payment that Friday over and over, but she still kept telling me I could not pay my payment that method. I had been told once that a creditor could not refuse a method of payment or amount with out good cause. I had paid all my payments through money order and never had a problem. I told her I had to get back to work that I would call her when I was off work and could she give me her contact info. She refused to give it to me saying it had to be taken care of right then.
My boss was needing me to get back to work, so finally after being bullied I told her I would try to pay the way she was wanting. But if I could not get the extra money for the money gram, I would be mailing the money order and hung up on her before she could say anything else. Three weeks after getting the payment and a week before the next payment was due two guys in uniform came into the place I work and asked for me. My supervisor told me to go outside to talk to them and see what they wanted. They were there to take my car. I asked them if they could follow me to where I was staying so I could take my belongings out of the car and they agreed. I told my supervisor what was going on and left.
After they took my car I called Chase to find out why they took it since I was not behind and still had another week to make the payment that was due and told them the payment would have been mailed the next day on payday. I was told that in order to get the car back I had to pay them almost half of what was still owed on the car. I asked them how it was legal for them to take the car since I had made the payment and they had it on record that the payment had cleared and another was not yet due. I was told that they could not help me and that the orders had been given and followed for repo. Then the person hung up.
Since the amount Chase wanted was more than I could come up with, I did not get my car back and also lost my job since I had no way back and forth. Plus since I lost my job I also lost my place to stay and was homeless. I had to stay with family and friends and lost the respect of some of my family because of losing the car. I am still trying to get back on my feet and had to move out of state with another relative to find work.

On Nov 27, 2009, we bought a used Cadillac Escalade, 2007 from a local Las Vegas dealership Courtesy Mazda. The finance guy from the dealership suggested Chase to finance the Escalade, the company that they do business with. I wasn't going to go with Chase, because my Credit Union offers me a better rate. Somehow, Chase matched my Credit Union offer which is 5.25. I told the car dealership that my registration will be filed in Alaska. I was then given a temporary permit, awaiting for my plated registration, when everything gets processed through. From the dealership, the title got sent to the lien holder, and from there, I will request to have it sent to Alaska for registration. The time I called Chase, I gave them a heads up that I am requesting a "state change" for an Alaskan registration.
I then gave the address where to send the title in AK, Fairbanks DMV. I was notified in the mail by Carla, who is in charge of car titles from the dealership, that she had sent the title to Chase, but every time I call Chase, they say that there was no title received. I gave them like another week to follow up. After again a negative response from Chase, I called Carla, and this time, she got an answer from Chase that it was mailed to my house address in Anchorage. I gave it another week, but nothing in the mail. I called Chase again. This time, customer rep said that it was mailed to Fairbanks DMV, but was rejected. I asked that if it was rejected, there has to be a reason why, but no one can tell me what.
All the customer reps I talked to said that they were just reading off of whatever information that's on the screen. I was very frustrated, because my temporary registration has been expired, and I cannot mobilize the car. The fact that no one can tell me the reason why the DMV in Fairbanks rejected, was a complete nonsense. I know the manager of the DMV. She said that they never rejected the title request, and if ever they reject any mail, she said that every mail handler will log it in.
This went on and on. I then asked where is the title, if it was rejected? No one can tell me. Just before the holidays, I spoke to another customer service rep that they now have the title, and it will be mailed on January 4, the earliest and best they can do, because of the holidays. I patiently waited and waited. The end of January came, but nothing happened. Meanwhile, even if I don't get the use and satisfaction driving the car, I sent in my monthly payment as my commitment. Another month has come and gone (Feb), I do not see any promising efforts from these so called customer representatives. They can not even assure of what plan of action they are taking to help me. Just before the end of February, I insisted to talk to a supervisor, and I remember talking to Ann. She said that she'll put in for an application for a duplicate title, and it may take up to the 7th of April. I just disregarded all cover up reasoning behind the delay. Instead, I gave them an ultimatum. If it is not received by March 5, you can pick up the car. Sure enough, 5th of March came, they still can not tell me anything. I told them their time is up. I am not paying for a vehicle that is parked in my garage, and not be able to drive it. The fact that Chase failed to execute and deliver their contract and service, I therefore demand them to refund my money paid to Chase, and my down payment. i lost my down payment, and monthly car and insurance payment.

I called Chase as they asked. Okay, I called them 3 times! Each time, I get a different story, not about missing a payment but it gets even more stupid as Chase can get. Two said I need to come up with $520.00. They said I was late and they had used. Now get this people. Feb payment applied to January, January applied to Dec. What the heck is that?!
I went to the bank. The bank people were very helpful and said they could not see I was late anything. Seems I need to come up with about $420.00 (approx) to make account good and not delinquent for any possible repo chance, hmm. I thought repo meant someone was behind at least 3 months or more and not just 1 payment.
I called again. I got another ** as all over the phone agents are and are trained to not help people in any way, they are there just so squeeze you and not give you any chance at all. This moron says, “Well sir, you missed 3 payments,” and told me the dates which kind of coincide with being laid off of work so I asked, “So then I am 3 months behind?” “No sir, you just need to come up with xxx amount for missing 1 month.” What?! Are you confused as I am?
In person, the bank said and called collections and collections said that I just need to come up with the approx $420.00. So the account is even since I had not made the normal payment. And for internet sake, let's say it was $450.00 a month I owed, okay then so if I only (and got letters saying to pay less but anyway) missed $50.00 a month for 3 months, that's only $150.00. How would they come up with 3 time or 4 times more!
Bank (in person) said I owed x amount so I gave them 100 bucks to lessen it and called Chase on the phone and of course that's where you get all messed up since it seems that neither the banks or over the phone records do not match each other on the screens. Why they should show everything that each person sees is right! Duh! They keep calling and I will not respond since they will not help, offer assistance and I keep getting various stories from each over the phone agent. How's that for a totally asinine company that does not offer in any way shape or form to truly/honestly help a person.
Confused? Yeah, I am. And so is the bank I go to so how's that. I missed 3 payments but not missing any. (What?) I am only late on one and even late fees don't match anything. In person and over the phone, computer records at Chase don’t match each other. It goes on and on. I try to do the best I can to tell anyone to not use Chase in any baking manner, go elsewhere and save yourself from them. Let them go broke as Obama should have let them!
I'll figure something out to stave them off. Told them I am out of work, vehicle is used for getting medication, errands for 2 disabled people but they don't even remotely listen, care or offer help which must mean you are talking to Chase bank. Does Chase even look online for all the horrible stories? Doubt it since they would try to get better in any way they can.
If you call them, tell them you are recording the conversation as they can and will do to you when you call them, see how fast they start to cry on the phone about that yet it is legal to do so if you tell them such! From Chase phone services, "Your call may be monitored at any time." Fair play is fair play chase! I am out of work. They say I cannot get any hardship until account is even but if I could do that then there would be no hardship case you morons, just another ploy by them as usual! Go to the bank, get a money manager person to talk to in person and be calm and state your matter and let them do some leg work for you then compare that with over the phone and see the various stories over the phone get's you! It's amazing how they change stories!
I feel for each of you current Chase Bank loan holders. I really do and say my mind of Chase on twitter when I am on twitter. Get the word out on any site you can but be legal in your wordings! Good luck people. You'll need it as I do! I may try to sell it off and get some extra cash to get some other vehicle no matter the shape! Funny thing, I am late or whatever the story of the day may be but when I go to the bank in drive up, they keep telling me I qualify for many Chase rewards and benefits. Yeah, I'm jumping all over that line.
Yes, I'd love to speak to a lawyer from here on this and what to do very soon. I'll look in my email later today, I hope I find someone! Please use Chase help in the subject heading so I read and open it or it will go to spam and never get read by me. I wish I had saved the 2 letters saying a payment that was less than normal payment is due. That’s how I got messed up in the 1st place by their letters!

Now this morning, 3/9/2010, I went to the Dodge Ram pick-up and it is gone. I called the police in Greenwich, CT and left a message to see if it was stolen, and I am continuing to call Chase Repo 1-888-519-6694 and no one will answer about what happened to my truck. Obtained new car loan in August 2009 for 2010 Mazda 3. Have now experienced repeated problems with payment "coupons" or billing statements. 1st billing one was received (postmark indicated it was mailed on 9/9/09 or the exact day the payment was due! ) after 1st payment was due, had arranged payment so it wasn't late. Now had have another statement that was made via phone, which they charged additional $10 fee for, which was waived due to problems with issuing a billing by mail. Was earlier told I had signed up for electronic statement-- which I had not.
Now again, I have yet to receive a statement. Today will be 3/4/10 in 45 minutes and payment is due on 3/9/10, which means by time I can check mail again, will have less than 5 days to get it to Chase for timely payment. Tried to access online account tonight without any success. First time used reset password from online account page, entered correct user ID and password (numbers sent by email), got message it was incorrect. Called Chase customer service, entered auto loan account number and # and followed menu.
"Banker" finally came on the phone and requested auto loan number again, walked me through my name, complete address and security questions about what company did I deal with in past (all 3 were bogus, correct) and an address I lived at 12 years ago, correct. Then sent new password number by email, which took several minutes. He hurriedly got off phone. I tried new number in email he sent, which arrived 3-4 minutes after "banker" hung up, got incorrect password again.
Called back again, through same lengthy process again until I was asked security question involving information on my adult daughter. I hung up. Enough is enough. She doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with my car loan, what is this, they investigate and databank all your children's information? This is extremely poor customer service I've experienced. Need to have statement timely issued and mailed so I can make payments timely (up to date except this month where I have yet to see a statement), avoid extra fees for automated payments. 2 emails with incorrect passwords-- no problem posting them here, they don't work! additional fees for other bill paying options when they don't issue coupon or statement, to avoid late payment (and likely even more fees).

I have made several attempts weeks before the charge off date on 1/27/10 to get a pay-off amount from Pamela ***. First I was told that it would be faxed, and then mailed, but neither happen. I made a call and faxed my request, and upon doing this I was told by their recovery person to stop contacting their client and they also left Erika *** a message on her phone telling her that what I was doing was against the law and was just going to make trouble for her. How trying to pay-off an account is making trouble, I don't know.
After all these attempts to get my pay-off from Pamela I finally received it from Mark ***, who told me that it had not charge off yet and after payment was supposed to fax a paid in full letter, which I never received and so I contacted him about this and he said he mailed it. It still has not been received to date. The account was paid in full on 1/29/10. Had Pamela *** done her job, we would have had this account paid off well before the charge off date and I am asking that this be removed. Mark claims that he took care of this, but it is being reported as a paid after charge off on mine and an unpaid charge off on Erika's. This is gravely hurting our credit and I don't feel we should have to pay for their mistakes.
As I stated before all I would like is for it to show paid, closed not as a charge off or remove the account from our credit. Erika also made attempts to contact the corporate office to handle this without filing a complaint and just got the runaround from Josephine ***, who I sent several pieces of information and have copies and phone records for that, who then gave my case to Sonya *** who Erika has a voice mail from and knows little to nothing of the issues I was having and made it seem as if she did not care to know.
She told Erika to call Andy *** who was very rude and made false claims that we were 120 days late and that's why it charged off. Though we were late it was only 90 days as of 1/25/10. I have payment receipts for every month since we bought the car. Erika and myself informed him that I would be filing a complaint, and he stated go ahead as they get complaints all the time. We are trying to buy a house and due to the nature of the account we lost to my points to purchase a home we paid the account off 100%. Now we are forced to rent until this account is fixed or a year or more old.

On Feb. 25 of 2010 Chase auto loan took 556.31 out of my banking account. I do not have an account with chase auto, I instantly called them to find out what was going on. I explained to the rep that my daughter has an account and they probably took it out of the wrong account. That's exactly what happened, I had a one time payment on my daughter's account when she was out of the country with school, that's how they had my account on file which was fine, however when my daughter called to make a car payment, they asked her do you want to use the bank of America account we have on file? She said yes, not knowing they still had my account on file and no one seem to mention it to her either.
Anyway the rep said she would return the money they took out of my account and take it out of the correct account. The money was in fact returned to my account, however 1 week later my daughter's car was repossessed, after a couple of days my daughter noticed the money had not been debited out of her account and she tried to pay online like she usually does, however her account was locked.
She then called a couple of times and got voice mail. Once her car was repossessed we called them and got a very rude response they said, "Well, you should have stayed current." My daughter was in tears, she was current until they failed to take her payment out of the appropriate account. She then called them to see what her options were, they informed her "You have no options. You pay the full amount of what is due on the loan or say goodbye to your car." She had the money in her account and made several attempts to pay them. We also called the company that towed her car and they said, they were under strict instructions not to give us any information regarding the vehicle. They would not even tell us how much the repo fee was going to be. They said, it varies depending on the bank.
Another thing that is odd about this situation is my daughter had been out of town and I was about 3 days late getting her info to make her payment but they had already contacted her dad which is the co signer. Also contacted my mother which is listed as a personal reference. Why didn't they do that this time, so this matter could have been handled immediately?
Chase has very rude customer service reps and are very she also asked them to take her work off of the contact list because she was not able to get personal calls there and yet they continued to call her only there. Well, this has created obviously economic damage. This will be on her credit for years as a repo. She now will have to use money, she had saved intended for the continuing of her education to try and somehow get another car. She needs a car for work, school and to get home for holidays and some weekends.

I, as a result of a loan default, have been harassed, threatened, and have been nearly killed.
As a result of their repossession agents, I have been hit with a brick and the police in the State of West Virginia have refused to render any assistance in the assault so I am now taking matters into my own hands and I am filing a 200,000,000 dollar lawsuit against the company for damages to my health. I called Chase because my payment was 15 days late. My husband and I have never been more than five days late on our payments to them. My husband lost his job on February 5. My salary is a third of what my husband made. I simply asked them to allow half payments from now, February 23 and July when my husband would start a new contract. The first gentleman I spoke with told me that they would not allow half payments, that I would either make the payment today or they would come and get my van. I stated that if I made the payment on the van, there was a chance that I would not be able to make my mortgage payment. He stated at this point that it wasn't his problem if I made my mortgage payment or not. He then asked what color the van was and if I lived in a gated community. I hung up with him and decided to see if I could get someone nicer and more respectful.
The second "gentleman", Marcus I believe, stated that Chase would not allow partial payments, even though my husband and I have had accounts with them for over 10 years and never been 30 days late. He stated that I either made a payment then with him on the phone, which cost me more money, or they would come get the van today. I had no choice but to make the payment.
I have three children and cannot be without a vehicle. How can a bank treat good customers in such a manner? I am so physically sick over this whole situation. We have always paid our bills on time. Why can't these big banks understand that people are going through hard times and need to be give a little assistance? Isn't Chase one of the main banks that received bail out? I may not be able to pay my mortgage next month because of this.

I purchased a 2002 Honda Accord in 2003 financed through Chase Auto Finance. My income was paid to me on the 1st and 15th of each month; my payment date with Chase was the 3rd of the month. When I was a few months into my payments to Chase I realized that a later payment date would be better for me and in order to stop the late fees I contacted Chase to change my payment date. They would not work with me. I paid off my vehicle after 5 years and if I was 5 days late, I received calls from very rude individuals asking when my payment would be received.
Then after my final payment they threatened me with the $600 owed in late fees. I explained to them that I felt it was their fault that I accumulated late fees because I begged them to change my payment date and they refused. Now they hold the title to my car and will not send to me unless I pay the $600 in late fees. Stay away from Chase Auto Finance. They are rude and will not work with their customers. I have purchased 5 new cars and financed with several other finance companies all of whom were more than happy to work with me through difficult times. Not Chase, they do not care about their customers. I will never do business with them again. My title is being held even though I paid off my 5-year car loan.

I work at a medical clinic in California and I am a customer of Chase Auto and Home Loan Finance. The payments have been late due to my hours being cut back at the clinic. I am a nurse at Kaiser Permanente and have been a good customer up until this time. I am being harassed. I cannot count the number of times they have called in the past week. The phone rings constantly. I cannot tell you what this is doing to my health. I have high blood pressure. I have explained my problem to them repeatedly and they just brush me off. I cannot live like this anymore. Please advise.

We purchased a 2005 Ford Mustang w/ Chase as the lender. We were never late with our payments until May 2009, when our hours were cut at work. We got behind by about 3 weeks, causing our payments to be 'late' all the time. We would call and ask if we could put this one payment at the end of the loan, standard practice, but the answer was always no. They called our phones 20 to 25 times a day. Most times, there wasn't even anyone on the line. When they were on the line, we were harassed. My husband was even told once that they would call just to harass us.
When I called this week to get a payoff amount so our bank could take over the loan, they first told me I had to make my late payment before they would give me an amount. We talked to about 4 different people, all of them with the same hateful attitude. Unbelievable. I called again and finally got an amount, was told it would be the same for 10 days. I informed them I would be calling back in the very next day to pay the car off. I was told there be a fee (of course)! When I called today, same rudeness plus the price had gone up by about $2.50, I said that was fine. I wanted it taken out of my account today. We'll see if it is. I have a sinking feeling that somehow the price will go up again. When I wrote my last letter to them, I stated that I might only be just one person and probably wouldn't make any difference to them, but I would tell anyone I could how horrible they are. And I do.

On Feb 13, 2005, I bought a car financed through Chase bank. I paid faithfully 4 days ahead of schedule for almost 4 yrs. I lost my job and cashed in my $401K to pay my bills. I'm still not getting behind on the car. I finally landed a new job and told her on a Monday in Nov 2009 that I would make the payment on Friday. She refused it and told me I had 2 choices; voluntary or involuntary repossession. She issued repossession on the car that same day. I have paid in over $21K on a car financed for $15K and still owed $11K. My interest rate was 21%. I tried to get the car refinanced 2 years ago to lower the rate which Chase in Texas was willing to do.
When they called to get the loan released to TX, Barb told them no. She did not have to release the loan for a lower interest rate. I am a single grandmother raising grandchildren. I also have cancer and for a bank to have no willingness to help out is unheard of. I feel they only wanted to repossess the car because it is more than paid for and they could resell it and still hit me with whatever they say the balance once sold. I know of by here, lots who don't charge that kind of interest, but I was trying to build my credit. What this bank has done to my family is appalling.

Chase sent an unknown person in a snow storm, who was driving a pickup truck to my door. The person never identified himself. He looked like a random person off of the street. He handed me an envelope with my name on it. I had just made a payment. They have me paying such a high interest rate, 23%. It is very difficult to make these high payments. I was told at the time I purchased the car that if I paid my payments on time, they would refinance the car. That never happened. Now I have a mortgage and a job that has given us a temporary salary reduction and furlough days. I was also told that if I could not afford the car, turn it in. I have been paying on it since 2006, and it seems the balance stays the same. Fortunately, one of their representatives that I use to deal with was very nice, but this new person had the nerve to send a random person to my door. My lawyer will be helping me resolve this matter.

Chase representatives hung up on us, when we try to negotiate a settlement after we agreed to pay off the delinquent balance. The account has been in default for four months, which is the amount of time we have tried to negotiate a payoff. Jovanny is a cancer patient trying to get back on track after a small recuperation. The account has been in default ever since his wife separated from him.
All they say is that they want to talk to him and no one else. When he verbally authorizes a third party to work through the situation, they screamed, insulted, and harassed us, saying they will take his only means of transportation. This has been very detrimental to his health and recuperation. He cannot use the vehicle, because he is afraid they will take it away and will not have enough money to catch up. Even if he comes up with the money to pay off the delinquent balance, his family does not have the full amount to pay off the loan but it is pretty close.

On January 22, 2010, I received a call from Lorenzo of Chase Auto Finance. He began to tell me that my payment was 26 days past due and I need to make a payment today. I told him that I am a little behind. However, I could make the payment on January 28th (next Thursday). He asked me the reason I was behind. I explained I am a realtor and business has not been good, but I am making every effort to keep up with my payments. Lorenzo started making suggestions on how I could get the money. He proceeded to tell me to borrow the money from friends and family, that maybe I should call my husband and tell him he needs to get a cash advance from his employer etc. I told him none of this was possible.
Then, he started to threaten me. He said he guaranteed me I will not have the car pass the weekend, it will be a very busy weekend, and I need to move quickly. He told me I have until 9pm tonight to make the payment. He was very rude. He told me I needed to get off the phone with him and start making calls to see how I can get them the money. The 28th was unacceptable and I am refusing to make payment.
I got really upset. I told him I was not refusing to make payment and I could make the payment on the 28th. This went on for 45 minutes. He belittled me on the phone. He told me that if I did not have the car, what would I do, and how would I get around? And if I don't make the payment today, he assured me I would regret it and again it is going to be a very busy weekend. And when I wake up in the morning and don't see my car outside, then I will know what he is talking about. On and on he went to the point that I did call my husband (who is not on the loan) to prove to him that I was making a call. But my husband could not give me the money today. We could pay it on the 28th. This went on and on, his talking down and belittling me and the threat of my car being gone in the morning.

Chase Auto finance has to be the worst finance company that I have ever dealt with. For three years, I have been paying on my car loan with them and I can only think of one or two times that a representative there was actually friendly. I recently called Chase after they called my cellphone six times in one day. I let them know that I would make my payment on the 29th of January and another one on the 1st of Feb. ( the 1st of Feb payment would be within the 10 day grace period).
Instead of working with me, I got verbally insulted and threatened. But this is a common thing with them. I try not to get upset but it's hard when you got a completely rude and aggressive person telling you how you should get a more "affordable" car payment. Nice. What kind of training do these people get? Are they trained to belittle and threaten people? I unfortunately have to continue with them. I do not have a choice but I have vowed to never let them get me down again. I will never, never finance through them again and will warn all that ask me about them. Horrible, horrible company.

Though I finally got home safe, I wasn't sure what happened so I was going to call the police and tell them my car was stolen. My daughter advised me to call the car company since I was a bit late on my payment. I did and sure enough, a very rude Chase representative told me they had picked it up. I never received a call. There was no need to because it was only 16 days past due. I had setup an auto pay through my bank the month before, and guess what, Chase (the creeps) never took that payment out, so they assumed I was over a month past due. After they took my car, they pulled both payments. By the time I had discovered what was going on, they had resold my car. I am livid and am looking for an attorney, whenever I can afford one. If they had only called me, it could have been taken care of immediately.

My vehicle 2006 Ford Taurus caught fire on my way to work 112 miles round trip, it was towed home. I couldn't get it fixed due to finances. This company is charging me late fees and finance charges that are more than the monthly payment of $452.32. On September, I spoke to Nicole, the supervisor for John, she proceeded to threaten me with the car being repossessed after I explained to her that the repairs for my car had been over $300 and the car still wasn't working, it kept having a burning smell and loss of power, the computer is lost, and she again told me that it sounded that I couldn't afford the vehicle and I could voluntarily give it back. I asked her how she expected me to get to work. After all, I was working in Rancho Cordova and there’s no public transportation for that route. I told her I had been staying in Sacramento and not returning home.
I explained that I was in a call center environment and needed to get off of my cell phone due to having to leave the floor and that I had a manager that was out for my blood. She again said if I didn't commit to giving her a payment by phone, that they would come and get it. So I finally lost it when a co-worker was gesturing to me that my boss was looking for me. I told her to come get it then and it would have been good for them not to have lied to me and after I borrowed money both months to get it repaired and to make the payments on a vehicle that doesn’t run.
She insisted on wanting to know why I was always late and some sort of episode was every month. I explained that furlough is known nationwide as state workers were given 1 day furlough in January 2009; in February 2 days furlough is imposed; in March, 3 days furlough; no prior notice, just taken. I explained I am still mandated to report to work on Furlough Fridays, drive pay the exorbitant gas prices, and with my car getting only 10 miles to gallon of fuel that I am paid salary whether there is 4 weeks or 5 weeks in the month, I am paid the same, the State was not processing even employees monthly on time, that my overtime check that I expect every month to be paid on the 15th had been paid to me 8 days late.
I authorized the payment, it bounced and several NSF fees at $35 that I would like to wait until I had the check due me in my hand. I asked her why when John told me I would be eligible to extend my payments to at least get back in status and not acquire all the fees they charge daily. She said we have given you extensions and you can't pay your bills after we do that. I was crying and I told her then take the car. Then I returned to my desk crying because my manager was standing there waving at me to get back to work and get off of my cell phone on State time. Well, then she started calling me back until I shut my phone off. Later I listened to her voicemails and returned her call.
She advised me that if I could get my payments current, she could waive all the late fees because I couldn’t understand how I was making the payments every months and owed $1500 over $900 in late and finance fees. Well, she told me if I could just increase my payments to $660.80 for September, October, November, then December’s payment would be extended to the end of the loan and the over $400 fees could be taken off. She had me promise to call her every month after I went into the branch to pay the payment direct something.
I hadn’t been told and was being charged $15 to phone my payment to them. They took the payment out of my joint account with my son and that overdrafted his account causing me to pay all the fees. Chase charged me an arm and leg in fees and finally agreed when I wanted to hear the tape because everything they tell you, the caution is being recorded.

Bought a new car in April of 2006. I was approved for a loan through Chase Bank. I have been paying $412 a month and sometimes I am on time and sometimes I am not. I have never been 2 months behind. If I miss a month I make sure that I pay double the next month. Now I don't make a lot and during the economic times I do my best to make sure my car payment is made on time.
When I am late I have called Chase and told them that I was going to be late this month. They tell me that I have a 12-day grace period and that I will be fine. After my due date I get a phone call from Chase saying that I am late and that I need to make a payment now. There is one employee that works for Chase and he calls me all the time and his name is Tappoon or Typhoon. He sounds African American or from India. He has called me at work and one time my supervisor answered the phone. He asked for me and my supervisor said he is not here. Tappoon asked when is he working again and my supervisor said we are not allowed to give out that information. He then said that it was urgent that he talk to me and he asked my supervisor his name. My supervisor said," I don't have to give you my name, and what is your name?” Tappoon said that it was none of his business and that he would call back.
My supervisor was shocked on how rude Chase was to him on the phone. He discussed to me that he is late on his car payment sometimes too and his bank never does that. Tappoon called again and I picked up. He said this is Nick. I said please do not call me at work anymore, will you please contact me at my parent’s house? He said, "Mr. V. we have been contacting you at your home and left numerous messages and no one calls me back. Now Mr. V. you owe $612 and you need to pay this now or else it’s in my power to have someone take your car." I said," Look, I don't need your threats.
You guys have always gotten my money and I had a death in the family during Christmas and I told you guys that I was going to be late." He said, "Mr. V. this is a problem. You broke your contract. You need to pay the $612 now." I said I already sent a money order. He said he needed all the info now. I said I'm at work and I don't have all that info on me; please leave me alone and you guys will be getting your money. He said, "Mr. V. you may never get a car again because you’re going to mess up your credit. Now it’s in my hands now and I have the power to repo your car.”
After that I was so upset that I hung up. My supervisor was there and heard the whole conversation and he said, "Wow, Chase is a horrible bank." I always make sure they get my payment. Yes, I admit I have been late but for them to be mean to me? I am so upset with them that one time and I have proof I sent in a payment and they called me. They said that I was a liar and that I never sent a payment in. I had a money order. So I went to the bank and asked them. They said that Chase did cash in the money order. I called them back with all the paper work that the bank gave me. A week later I had a letter sent to me from Chase that was an apology letter.
I'm tired of this Typoon or Tapoon guy calling me and threatening to take my car and all. I try to explain to him and he is extremely rude and hostile to me. He was even rude to my supervisor and my parents. I'm about to go see an attorney. I can understand if I was 2 or three months behind on my payment, but when I'm like 16 days past and they call me. I reported I have mailed the check. I got asked to verify my info. I did. I immediately got another collection call. I waited and got to a live person. It's the same person I just spoke with. She said she cannot stop the calls.
Today, 1/9/10, I received another collection call. I waited and spoke to Bryan. I explained again, and he asked me again to verify everything again. He started asking me who my auto insurance is. I said, "That's enough. You know my address, my cell, my home, my mother's maiden name." I asked for a supervisor. She said I can complain to customer service.
I was told by Lennea that there is nothing they can do about the collection practices. I can write to Chase Auto Finance Executive Office in Garden City, N.Y. 11530. I asked for a phone number. They said they have no phone or email they can offer me. I called. It is the same customer service. I was told by Amareli and May that I can write to the same address. What would be the point?
So instead, I'm posting it here. My complaint is this: Had I been told by the collection department to call customer service to stop the calls, that would have been helpful. I wasn't told by collections, only until I called customer service. I can't complain about the collection department, because it's a different department. The other complaint is why the collection department needs to know my auto insurance carrier. And had I not stopped, it would have continued with the questions.

I did not even realize right away that the car was missing. Finally, I received a letter (no phone call whatsoever!) that my car was repossessed. I was expected to pay a $390 repo fee and another $465 fee to the place where the car was being stored (4 hours away) or I would be forced to pay for the car in full if I wanted it back. This car is not a lease and is on an automatic payment plan, so Chase has never not received a payment on this car - not even a late one!
Now I have a mark against my credit at all three credit bureaus showing a repossession. Not only does this kill me with any bank, it is embarrassing! However, we had to make a payment to get current (we are 24 days late as of this) and then they can grant an extension. I told them that if I could make the payment, I wouldn't need the extension, but that didn't make sense to the idiot on the phone who did a great job of making me feel like the biggest piece of crap ever born.
He went on to harass, belittle, and quite simply, reem me for missing 1 payment in 2 and a half years. He asked if I was getting unemployment and when I told him it hasn't been decided yet, he then insulted me further by saying that they can't grant an extension until I receive unemployment. I again questioned the fact that they won't grant an extension until I get some income; it makes no sense, because if I had an income ... I wouldn't need an extension.

I purchased a 2005 Dodge Stratus which was financed through Chase Auto Finance. The car was purchased in February 2008. I had no problems with payments of the car until I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2009. In September 2009, my granddaughter called Chase representative Angel (payment by phone number) who told her that $970 had been paid on the account and that nothing was due until December 23, 2009 which would be $105. My payments are usually $250. I had previously informed Chase that I had cancer and wanted to know if there was some type of insurance that would pay if I became incapacitated. The clerk I spoke with said she did not know. For this reason, I along with my granddaughter called again and I was also told that $970 had been posted to the account. I assumed that a company owned insurance had kicked in. I then asked Angel if some mistake had been made regarding the amount paid into the account and would my account be debited for the money. She said no. My granddaughter was on the phone at the time I was speaking to Angel.
Approximately in October 2009, Rachel, representative, began calling inquiring about my delinquent payment. I explained what had been told to me about a $970 payment. I was then told that there had been a mistake and the money applied to my account was money which should have been applied to a mortgage. The money was removed and applied to the mortgage note. I was told by a representative, Gloria ** (representative) and Marchetta ** (supervisor) that I should have set the money aside to which I replied since cancer co-payments for me are now $200 to $250 each time, not to mention the cost of medicine, etc., lost of my insurance company (which pulled out of Texas coverage) though I did eventually gain coverage with another, there was no set aside money.
Due to their rude manner, etc., I decided to return the car and informed them of this. They continued to harass me by phone and although I told them where the car would be located, they sent a man, Tommy ** (972/849-5956) to my home, whom I refused to open my door for. Since I am located in a senior gated community, I told Tommy the car would be located in Nacogdoches, TX with my granddaughter (who is in college there) at her apartment. When Gloria ** called about the location of the car, I also told her the exact location and told her I was unable to drive my granddaughter back to college therefore the car was with her; that she had cleaned the car out and was waiting for someone to pick it up. I asked them to let me know when the car was picked so that I could contact my insurance company and cancel.

I consider Chase's representative to have been rude, unprofessional bullies and feel that with this country (through taxes paid by the American public) having bailed them and other banks out with billions of dollars, the least their representatives could do is to be civil to customers. My husband and I have been with Chase Auto Finance for about a year now. We have had no trouble with the company, except for annoying phone calls if your payment was even 1 day late. Our payment of $292.09 is due on the 26th of each month. We have always paid. We have never paid outside the 10-day grace period until just recently. I called in advance to let them know that my Oct. 26, 2009 payment would be late, but not over 30 days late. I told them our hardship but of course, they asked me if we could not keep the vehicle. I told them we are keeping the vehicle, but we are making adjustments and we are paying. So I made an arrangement that I would pay online before the next billing cycle. I was then contacted on the week of Nov. 17, 2009 stating that I had not contacted anyone about this when in fact I did. He told me that I was accruing interest everyday it was late; that if I postdated a check, I would only be charged a late fee. Of course. Why didn't they tell me that before!
I also told him no one had told me that. So fine, I postdated a check for Nov. 20, 2009 for $321 that included the late fee and the convenience charge. Well later the following weekend, I went grocery shopping. My debit card says insufficient funds. I had to leave all my groceries in line with my 3-year old son! That was very embarrassing to say the least! I went home and checked online my checking account. Guess what? Chase Auto Finance took out $292.09 on Nov. 19, 2009 from my checking account without my permission! Mind you, I had already set up a check for $321 which they also took out! So now my account was already paid for a payment that wasn't even due yet! I called them that night, but they were closed. So then I called them on Saturday morning on November 28, 2009.
They said they could do nothing except for me to fax the research department, which you cannot contact by phone or speak to anyone else. So I asked to speak to his supervisor/manager. He was very rude to me and told me that my auto loan was just as important as any other bill - even more important than feeding my family! I told him that my payment wasn't even due yet when they took that other payment out. I explained myself over and over again. He just repeated himself over and over again like a broken record. So I took the fax number, faxed them my bank statement and information they needed so they could see what happened.

This is the bankruptcy division. I have never been late with a payment, but my payment was due on 8/22/09 and my check has not cleared the bank yet. I mailed the check on 8/13/09 and usually Chase Auto cashes it by now. I am very diligent about paying my bills on time, but when I call this number, they tell me their office is closed at this time. I called on a Tuesday, 8/25/09 at 1:15 pm. Why would they be closed? If I put a stop payment on this check, it will cost me $30, which I cannot afford. I wanted to talk to a banker to tell them this information, but they are closed. How does this help me?

Beware of Chase Auto Finance! Never use this company! "Warning." I financed a vehicle through Chase in 2005. I was never late with a payment until I was laid off in March of 2009. As soon as I was laid off, I contacted Chase to inform them I would be about 21 days late with my April payment. They said that was not acceptable and started asking "where the car was located, color, when they could pick it up?" Even more than what they were asking, it was the rudeness of the person/people I was speaking with. I have "never" dealt with anyone in business like these people! I was not trying to get an extension, miss a payment or even trying to avoid late fees. I just wanted them to know why I was late. What a mistake I made calling them. I made sure my car was always in the garage to avoid them taking it, and as soon as I returned to work, I obtained a loan through my credit union and paid them off! Do not even consider using this company!

I think my story takes the cake! My husband didn't work full time last year due to the fact that he was caring for his dying mother. I developed rheumatoid arthritis and had to retire. After two missed payments, Chase, who had refused to refinance us, threatened to repossess the car. Since my husband's mother had died, we were returning to NYC, so he could resume work. In NYC, a car is a liability. I called Chase, and told them I wanted to surrender the car. They said, fine, and took the car.
I was in the emergency room with my daughter. She is 12 and was chasing around a friend, and had fallen down a flight of stairs. She had a scalp wound that bled a lot. I was distracted when Mike from Chase called. He was very aggressive. He was very rude. He said we owed over nine grand on the car. I told him that I did not surrender the car in order to keep making payments. The nine grand reflected mostly interest. I said that I would consult with my attorney and call him next week. He started asking 20 questions about who my attorney was, etc. The doctor walked in to treat my daughter and I hung up the phone.
I had arranged for a loan from my pension fund. The money was to cover my daughter's tuition, and pay back all the friends who had loaned us money over the summer. We were really in bad financial shape (my hubby is an NYC teacher, and he did not accrue any summer pay this year, so we were relying on the kindness of friends). The money was also going to cover household expenses until hubby gets paid on September 15. The loan came in by direct deposit on Friday. Our bank account is with Chase. They seized the money. No judgement, no written notice, no further phone calls. They just debited the money from the account.
I called to try to get some of the money back and they wouldn't budge. They were rude, abusive, obstreperous. Horrible. Be careful. If these folks say you owe them money, get your money out of any banks they can get into. They will take your money and not even tell you. And then they will abuse you besides. My attorney told me to get a copy of the contract which specifies that they can seize the money. This Greg, the boss, was rude and awful and wouldn't send the contract.

On August 18th, I wrote of my experience with Mr. ** and the threats about my car being repossessed. I have been paying for that car for two years, and on January 1, 2009, I was informed by an employee, Roger **, that I met the criteria to be offered a break in making the payments for two months! Does that sound like someone trying to avoid payments? Now, eight months later, I had a problem with July's payment. I am 62 years old and I get money once a month in my account. I live alone, have no family closer than 1500 miles away, have a steel heel on my right foot due to injury three years ago, and because of that, I have difficulty walking. I need my car.
I told him on the 18th I could make both July and August payments on the 29th, but that was not good enough. He left so many threatening messages that I left him a message stating that I told him what I could do, and there was nothing else I could do. I got no calls until today, and when I asked ** if he'd gotten my message that I had tried everything I could try to get money, but I couldn't, so I would make both payments on the day I stated. He told me that with my attitude that he wanted both payments today or he wanted the car back. My attitude?! This man was yelling on the phone. I told him I'd been paying for the car for two years, and that should tell him that I make my payments. I told him that July's payment was the first and only time my word was broken. I am trying to pay for my car. I need my car. He was still screaming when I hung up. He had the nerve to ask for September's payment, which is due on Sept. 5th.
Why am I being treated like this? I'm not driving a Lexus. It's a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo, the $15,000 model, and it's been paid for half the way, so I do not feel that I deserve the threats, the screaming, the personality bashing. What kind of people are these people? They are not professionals and as soon as I can, I will either sell that car or refinance somewhere else! I even explained that due to my injury, I am involved in a $500,000 lawsuit that is getting ready to settle. My plan was to pay the car off in full (to save the interest charges) and keep going. Now I will do whatever I have to get rid of Chase Auto Finance and David **.

They told me that was not acceptable. I had to make both payments (June and July) or not at all. They then threatened me in a roundabout manner, i.e. where is the vehicle parked, what color is it, what time is it at the residence, what time is it at my work.
I have not been late in three years until these past two months. I realize as the customer service representative stated that it is my fault I am in this situation, but really? We have been on one income for nearly eight months and there are not any options, not to even catch up in seven days. I am so upset that they can treat consumer this way. I guess a default is a default. I will be refinancing with my local bank this next week. I will never use this company again, and you can believe this is not the only place I will be complaining.
Consequences: there has not been any yet, unless they come and take the vehicle. But I am going through my bank and making a direct payment to them today for one month and then next week will do make the second payment through my bank. Hopefully, this will prevent them from actually being able to take our vehicle. But as I stated above, a default is a default and they probably have the right to be however they want.

I owned a vehicle that was financed through Chase. I had 3 accidents and 2 injuries that led to surgery all in 2006. When I had knee surgery, I decided I needed change. I couldn't go back to doing the kind of work that I had been doing. So, I started looking for new work. From October '06 to April '07, all of my payments were made. I was behind in May and June and they wanted my vehicle back. I kept telling them that I would be able to catch up with the payments. I was waiting on a settlement check from one of the injuries. Well, impatiently - they couldn't wait and wanted their vehicle back. My mom spoke to the lady because my parents at this point wanted to help out. They gave me a week when my dad got paid. Well, he had didn't get his check by their deadline and they wanted the car back. He offered to even throw in an additional month and they refused. I drove the car to a gas station in Columbia, SC (where they asked me to) and they picked up the car. And right afterwards, just within days, I got my settlement check.
Unfortunately, they said in order to get it back they wanted payment in full. Who has $10,000 to pay off a truck? Well, the following week the SUV was sold. They then harassed me to pay off the remainder balance. They did try to cut a deal with me. They offered me a pay off of $1500. I didn't have that kind of money. I was in school and had no car. What were they thinking? Then a year later they called, harassing me for $4,000, and said the deal was off. It's sad how some organizations treat people even when things go wrong in their lives. It wasn't like I never called and talked with them. I kept them updated, but they felt like they knew what was best. It's sad that they are already robbing us with high interest rates and along with that rude customer service. No one knows what people are going through and to have someone treat you like that is terrible. I am glad that part of my life is over. Mistake learned.

I got up on Friday morning to go pay two months payment and find the truck was gone. No letter saying they were going to take it. Then when I found out where they towed it to, I was told I had to pay in full to get it back. I could not just bring account up to date and cover towing and holding cost. They then sold it for half of the value and expect me to pay the rest.
I did let them know that I'm without a vehicle. I can't find work outside of walking distance, and no job means I can't send them any money. To be honest, they did not want my money when I had it, why should they get it now? I now owe Chase $6000+ and had no transportation to find work outside of my home town. Several attempts to Chase's Customer Service Department to explain my financial situation and to arrange some type of deferment or refinance at a lower interest rate for my auto loan. These contacts with Chase company representatives only caused me to become irritated due to their lack of concern.
While tempting this fate, I had the unfortunate experience of talking with many of Chase's belligerent representatives; one in particular who profoundly refused to let me speak to the manager in charge and who, in a smirking tone stated “You have had your vehicle for less than a year and you want to refinance your vehicle? This is not a manager’s problem.”
After this last conversation, it was evident that Chase Auto Finance was not willing to work with me and it was then that I decided to voluntarily return my vehicle to the company where I bought the vehicle. Chase is presently requesting that I be responsible for any expenses to sell the vehicle as well as any difference between what they resell the vehicle for and what is remaining on the loan.

The vehicle was financed in May 2004. Fast forward. With perfect payment history to March 2008 when my husband was laid off, we continued to pay on time until September of 2008. Then subsequently, we have been one month behind. I made numerous attempts to make arrangements with such an old loan to not incur so many fees, but the reps are rude, condescending, mean-spirited and apparently unable to read the specifics on an account to see the payment history even during a hardship, let alone be given the authorization to grant pay date extensions.
August, 11 2009, I owed the final $748.38 and I called them to inform that the final payment (completed loan) would be made in full as of Sept 10. Edna again, very rude, argumentative, uncompassionate, when I asked her for a supervisor, she refused 4 times before connecting me to a voicemail. I left a detailed VM for the supervisor. 3 minutes later, a new rep called my cell phone and I asked her to read me the notes from the previous phone call. She read me a botched version and proceeded to harass and belittle me as I was merely telling her that I just went through this and was waiting for Omar to return my call.
My credit will be slightly damaged, but at least I will be done with Chase. This company is ruthless even with the most integrity-oriented payment history. Unbelievable and very sad. Thank goodness we will be able to finally bring this loan to a close as some people can't these days.

I have been paying car payments on time like clockwork, not late. I have the highest credit for loans you can have. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she refused. I asked to speak to customer service and that girl Emily was okay, but couldn't help me with my issue. So, I ended up paying two months’ payments by phone which cost me $15.00 plus two $5.00 late fees, even though I never received June or July's bills. I’m not sure how things are supposed to work in the type of situation I'm in, but we were involved in an auto accident on April 26, 2009 and the car was badly damaged. Chase Auto Finance is the lien-holder on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed and was held at a local tow yard. I received a notice from Chase about 3 weeks later saying they had repossessed the vehicle, and it will included costs and fees due if I wanted to get the vehicle back. Keep in mind that it was involved in an accident. I had just made the April payment on the 20th and the next was due on May 20th. I come to find out they repossessed the vehicle after the May payment wasn't made by May 21st. They knew the vehicle was involved in an accident and I let them know that the other party who was at fault would have their insurance take care of things.
However, when the claims adjuster from the other person's insurance company wanted to see the vehicle to assess the damages, they were unable to gain entry at the tow yard. I called the tow yard and explained the situation and they urged me to call Chase for clearance to see the vehicle. I then called Chase and they said they cleared the vehicle, yet still the tow yard wasn't doing a thing. Chase said they could ask the tow yard to take pictures of the vehicle for a fee. Luckily, I had taken pictures of the damages at the scene of the accident and forwarded those to the insurance company. The vehicle has been deemed a total loss and they have been waiting on proper documentation from Chase to assess the value and cut a check. Chase has had them waiting since June and it is now August!
When I called, it seems nobody knows what's going on at Chase. They're still sending me payment due notices and they have the car and know it's totaled. The claims adjuster has said that they have never had this much hassle when trying to finalize a total loss. They're getting a lot of runaround and Chase is pretty unprofessional. This situation has been a nightmare. They told me before that regardless of an accident I should be making the payments and that's all they cared about - they didn't seem to care if anyone was injured or not. I, my wife and my 5-year-old and 15-year-old kids were in the vehicle when the accident occurred and everyone was injured - nothing major, but there were minor injuries. If I were to do this all over again, I wouldn't have Chase Auto Finance provide the loan on a vehicle for me.

I was not, but every time you talk to them their figures change. To make a long story short, I called to see what I needed to do to get my truck. They said I needed to pay $1,420.00 at a Chase bank. That was on 6/24/09. I called the capital recovery that had the truck immediately. They told me don't lag in paying because they send them to auction, right away.
When I called Chase to tell them I would be at the bank on the 26th of June to pay the amount they said, and asked about them selling it, they told me don't worry, it would not go to auction until 7/5/09. I went to bank and paid the $1,420.00. I called the recovery company and they told me to call Chase that the payment was made. I could not get through to them, till 12:30pm, they were all in a meeting.
When I got them, they said I had to call my insurance and fax all that over. I did. Once again not good enough, they needed to be put on policy even though they were named as lien holder. I did once again. Then, I called back and I had to fax them the policy. Then, I called again. Now 2:00pm they said I needed an additional $220.00. Finally, I went and met the tow company, gave him the additional money, and he told me I was lucky. It was going to auction, it was cleaned out.
Every time I make a payment, the payoff goes up instead of down. When this was all over, they said my next payment was due 9/24/09. Now I called and my payment is past due 7 days. I called again, they tell me a ** story that the money was applied as they said I requested! I requested nothing! And they can't show me where that money was applied! Meanwhile, all of a sudden, I am behind once again, and no one can give me a straight answer. They also said my truck was registered in Ohio. I’ve never been in Ohio in my life. They also are now claiming I only made a payment of $808.00. Consequences: almost lost my job!

Six years ago, I voluntarily returned a leased vehicle which had been financed through Chase. I had financial problems following my divorce and entered bankruptcy, realizing my credit would be affected for a few years. Wishing to rebuild my previously perfect credit record, I started monitoring my credit report and found that Chase had not only listed my terminated lease as a repossession, but they have 2 of the 3 reporting agencies stating that I owe over $9,000 balance. I didn't realize that the error of balance due was hurting my credit and spent two more years improving my report in all other ways.
Now that six years have passed and I've spent the past two years trying to clear Chase's problems from my report, I was told by Chase lease department that they only keep records for 5 years, so my account can't be accessed anymore. Bounced from department to department on the phone, no reply to letters or email, I'm at a loss for what else to do. My debt to income level is greatly hampered by an error of more than $9,000, not to mention 2 agencies still think I have a repo in my past, rather than just a cancelled lease.
When Chase bought Washington Mutual Bank this year, I immediately pulled all my accounts out of what had otherwise been a good bank for years. Unfortunately, I have a credit card through Chase now because of the bank takeover and it would harm my credit even more if I give up that card. No amount of friendly people in customer service telling me to resend my faxes and letters and emails or transferring my calls five times can fix this error. If they've destroyed my file from six years ago, I'm toast.

I never received any paperwork due to the bk from Chase; however, I checked my credit report to see how things were looking since it has been two years and noticed that Chase had reported that this account was paid, never late and no money is owed on the car. I called Chase to ask for my title and guess what? They say I still owe about 9g's on the car. I disputed this information with Experian and they verified with Chase that I do not owe anything on the car, so I called back and they say I owe more than they told me before on the car and that Experian is putting bad information out. I called back and have been hung up on several times when asking for my title. They only said to pay so I said let's refinance to see how they treat me then; they do not hang up then. Wow, so I told them that I would like some documentation showing that I owe and they said I have to go into one of their banks that they can't send me anything and then guess what? They hang up on me again! Bottom line, Chase is a horrible and confused company with terrible service and wishy-washy reps. Stay clear of them!

Apparently, Chase has a policy of hiring the most ill-tempered and ignorant customer service reps. I financed a 2008 GM Pontiac through Chase in September 2008. I was laid off from a $47K (per year) position in the automotive industry back in November 2008. I am still unemployed but hopeful. I have been receiving unemployment checks and making my auto loan payments every month. It has not been easy, rather a hardship, since unemployment checks are only twice a month and nowhere near my previous salary income. I have paid after the due date but always before the next payment is due. I am doing my best. I also have a mortgage and other household bills.
I called Chase to get a payment deferred and had the unpleasant experience of speaking with Judy, a financial service rep. She told me I would not be able to get a payment deferred, and maybe, I could borrow money instead. It did not matter to Chase that I was now unemployed. I was then told that things could get worse for me, if I did not continue to make my payments. If I could purchase another vehicle and not have to converse with Chase ever again, I would be pleased. Right now, I need to have my car, and so, I just continue to make payments the best I can and hope I will soon be free of Chase Auto Finance. One would think that in today's economic climate, there would be more empathy forthcoming.

This email is about Chase Bank or Chase Auto Finance. Never before have I been so frustrated with someone I want to pay! My statement did not arrive and I missed a payment. In my mind, not a big deal. They called me and said I could make a payment on the phone. I told them I would go home after work and check it out to verify. Nowadays, you cannot just give account info over the phone if you did not initiate the call and know who you are talking to. I found that I did not receive the monthly statement, so I agreed I owe a payment. I went to the website and could find no address. You have to have a username and password to access the site. I don't have that and don't want that. I just wanted an address to send a check!
I found a number for them, talked with them and made my payment. A few other things happened that were annoying, like their attitudes, fast talk and constant interrupting while on the phone with them. It was like a script with them saying, "What is your routing number?" over and over while trying to talk with them. When I am asking for an address to send a check, they said they had address all over and needed payment now, like I was going to steal the car. I told her I had not received the statement for June and sill not for July. She said that was probably from a switch to quarterly statements, but should not have affected me! I just received a letter stating my account is past due. It has no address on it as I wanted to complain to Chase about their antics. I take that back, there is an address and it says under it - "Undeliverable mail only".
A company that will hassle you so harshly and not listen to why you missed a payment or give you a place to mail it is insane to me. Bad business. I, if I can get in touch with someone, will be moving my account elsewhere. I went online and wow, there are a lot of websites/forums that are saying the same thing about Chase Bank. I went easy on them too. I am way more upset with them than I sound. Please respond with good news and let me know that me and everyone else deserve at least half ** service! Please contact me if you want a copy of my statement that has no address and only a phone number that states day or night service, yeah right! It says press 1 for an address, but it is only for a payoff, not a payment. They said they would send out duplicate statements. I have no faith.

When I purchased my car in January 2004, I chose to accept financing from Chase bank because of the low interest rate offered to me. Little did I know that although the low interest was a bonus, the price I would pay would be in shoddy customer service and lax accounting.
The problem began in May of 2009. I paid the remainder of my car loan for the amount of $437.65. The payment was received on May 26, 2009. I was informed by the representative that I spoke to at the time that the automatic payments would stop, because my account was now closed. I took him at his word. On June 16, 2009, Chase withdrew an amount of $280.84 from my account.
I called the customer service number, and after several calls and an hour, I reached a human who informed me yet again that my account was closed and that the automatic payments would stop. A refund check was issued and arrived 2 weeks later, not the five business days as had been promised. I accepted this mistake, as I believed it to be a one-time error and that the payments, as I had been told twice now, would stop.
On July 16, 2009, an amount of $280.84 was again withdrawn from my account. This resulted in $300 coming from my overdraft account to cover this withdrawal. I called Chase bank, and after two hours and many transfers to supervisors and different departments, I was informed that I was the one who needed to stop the automatic payments.
I logged onto Chase.com and attempted to log in with my social security number and my account number. I was informed by the website that "We are unable to identify you in our records." Fortunately, after two hours, a woman, who was very helpful, assisted me in resetting the account and stopping the payments. However, I am displeased that it took the company two months to offer this assistance.

I made my last payment on my car financed through Chase and have not received my title. Chase is trying to pass this off as normal procedure when they have in actuality lost my title. They have sent me a lien satisfied note and expect me to go to the registry and get a new title. The supervisor told me that I would have to wait 3 months to get a new title. She then would not transfer me to another supervisor and hung up on me. Because of the poor management of Chase, I will not be able to drive my automobile and I am not getting any satisfaction from this sloppily ran company or its employees. I need a vehicle and I should not be penalized for their shortcomings. Can I pursue this through legal action?

I have a perfect payment history for 2 1/2 years on my car, I have been a couple of days late but never 30 days. I lost my job and had a baby a year ago but maintained my payments. The collections department calls everyday and I had my most recent encounter this month. The collector called me; his name is Manny. He said he was calling because at midnight, I would be 30 days late and he was putting in notice to repossess my car. I told him I would make a payment that day at the branch but he said that's not good enough.
Manny asked what was going on and I explained to him about my job loss a year ago, being a single father, and the state taking child support from me (although my son lives with me), a custody fight for my daughter (who was kidnapped by her mother and taken to Mexico), along with all other bills. He said okay, to make the payment and they would defer a payment so I would be current. He demanded I do a check by phone, which I explained I don't do with Chase anymore because in November of 2008 they messed it up. Again he demanded and said I had no choice. So I did it because I can't afford to lose my car which would affect my job. After a week, I realized they still had taken the money out of my account, which is what happened before.
Manny happened to call me the next day, and told me I gave them a bad check and it was returned for non-sufficient funds. I tried to explain that this happened last time and the money was there. He called me a liar and demanded 3 payments by the end of the day or I would have no car. The next business day, I went to a Chase branch and talked with a loan officer and had her call the collection department. I brought statements from my bank showing no check was ever run from my account, much less returned. So we faxed my paperwork to collections and they said I could come pay it the next day, since I didn't have the funds in my account that day due to the fact I had to rent a car to make sure I could go to work.
The next day when I got off work, I called Chase and asked to talk to the rep I made the agreement with, to make sure we were all on the same page. I was transferred to Manny again who then said that my arrangement to pay what I owed wasn't good enough and if I didn't pay $1353.00 that day, I wouldn't have a car in the morning. I told him I would call him back from the branch with the loan personnel there in 15 minutes. He said he didn't care if I wasn't paying the $1300.00, but I could call back. I went to the branch and I missed the loan officer by 10 minutes. I called back to tell him and he had left for the day.

I went into a branch to get pre-approved for an auto loan, they led me to believe that all I needed to do is find out what car I wanted, and to go back with the details and it would all be taken care of that day. I went back into the branch 2 days later, with all the information I needed. The information was not processed that day, and they over-promised, and did not deliver. I called the banker, who told me she would call me right back. After not hearing from her for an hour, I called up their loan department, they told me that they were waiting on more information from me. I sent them proof of income from a property management company in the form of a statement that showed income received. They told me this was not good enough, I waited over the weekend, and contacted the property management company, and told them the situation, and they forwarded them a lease agreement. Chase told me they would need a tax return from me. I faxed my tax return, and they could not put everything together.
I own 2 homes, I'm a financial adviser, with only $15k in student loans, and they would not finance $11k for me. My credit card limit on my Citi Card is $33k, and I haven't even come close to that.
Finally, after turning me down, my banker calls me 4 days later, and apologizes. Asked if she should dispute it, I told her not to bother, as I've already jumped through enough hoops. I took a personal loan from my parents, of $2,500, which they deposited in cash into my Chase account, and were then told that the funds, even though cash, would not be available until the following day.
I checked my account the following day, and made many phone calls, and no one seems to have any idea of when the funds should hit my account. I called WaMu, and Chase, they have no sign of my transaction, and all gave different reasons to why, and when the funds should hit my account. I made sure to ask each person I spoke with, if they thought the system was stupid, and they all responded yes. Very nice employees, with their hands tied, who believe the system they work in, is stupid. Worst thing is, I never asked to have a Chase account, when it was WaMu, the funds came straight in, and I had access to them. Globalization has a negative effect on the service we receive, and it's unacceptable. These organizations are monopolizing the industry, and should be broken back up.

Everything I read about Chase Auto Finance is all negative. I financed my car through them for 60 months and have never missed a payment or ever paid late. I have 12 more to go, and hopefully, they will all be on time. Even when I lost my job, I was still able to pay them. The rare times I called their main number, the people were very polite and helpful. I find it hard to believe that all these people have all had such bad experiences as they claim or that the these workers are that rude. I understand that times are hard, and some things are beyond our control; but credit debt, car debt, or any kind of debt is still our responsibility. So Chase Auto Finance, you're alright with me. We financed our car through chase in February 2008. We have had a perfect payment history. Our interest rate is 25.24%. I have spent several hours on the phone with various representatives who are rude and dismissing. I have been referred over to collections who, while more helpful because I am not delinquent, say that they can not help me with lowering this interest rate or car payment of over $300 because they are not licensed to deal with loans, rewrite contracts, lower interest, etc. They are completely unwilling to negotiate. The reason that this is so aggravating is because when we purchased the vehicle, we were told that we would be able to have our credit and payment history reviewed through Chase for a lower rate.
We have done everything that we can think of short of missing a payment and letting the car get reposed, which they have threatened because their system was down and not showing a payment a few months ago. With several weeks of calls and showing my bank statement, we were able to resolve that problem. When we purchased the vehicle, the company was requiring more income. The salesman, who knew my husband, was scrapping for a few extra dollars at the time; he told him to bring in the recycling receipts and the loan would go through as we were only short on our income by a little. The company was aware what our debt to income ratio was when financing was accepted and financed the vehicle anyway through shady means. In an attempt to recover from financial stress, we have since moved in with relatives so that we don't have the $850 a month in rent and the $250 PGE bill. But we are still struggling to make the payments.

They continued to harass me daily with phone calls every night. The people that called were thugs, threatening to repo the car, calling me a liar, telling me to sell whatever I could to make the payment. When I explained that I would pay it as soon as I got the check, less than 5 days, they continued to berate me and repeatedly asked me why I took the loan if I didn’t have any money. These people are vultures and once I get a job, I am going to pay the entire amount off and never ever deal with Chase again. The people who work for them are pure evil.
Good ideas for people: use a PO Box so they do not know where your car is. Move so that your prior address is the only address they have. Change your email and phone number and never allow them to link your bank account to their automated payment system. I logged onto my Chase Auto Finance account and paid my bill as I usually do. After paying, I was told that I could set up an auto payment. "An auto payment", I thought. "What an easy way to handle a bill!". Unfortunately, after setting up an auto payment, which was to begin the following month, my initial one time payment no longer appeared as a pending activity on their website. So I sent them a message asking if my initial payment was still pending. I was told by Christan ** that no payment was pending. And really, why would someone give out bad information on something like this? Acting on the pretense that I would have to resubmit a payment for the month, I put another one time payment in. This time, it showed up on the activity log, along with my repeating payment. Christian ** gave me bad information. I was charged nearly $1000 for my car payment that month. That might normally be okay, but this was during the holiday season and I was on a budget. I incurred $175 in overdraft fees because Chase Auto Finance, through Christian ** and Jaime ** (who later passed the buck) gave me some bad information.
Through the next two months, I was double billed twice more, but was ready for it. During that time, I tried to speak to someone who could set things straight for me as Chase was clearly in the wrong. The people I called on the phone told me a variety of conflicting stories as to how this came about, but I was never able to speak to the same person twice. Eventually, a service representative told me that my account described the double billing situation as being something that occurred because my bank initiated a payment through the online bill payment option on their website (which I haven't used). The person I spoke with at Chase agreed that if this information was incorrect, I would receive a refund of my money.
So I got my trusty Bank of America representative on a three-way phone call and she explained that the double billing was in fact initiated by Chase Auto Finance, and that this was documented. Seeing I was correct in my objections to a thrice double billing, the Chase representative told me to collect a claim for their claims department by getting this documentation, and attaching it to copies of prior correspondence. I did that minutes after receiving the documentation and I faxed it to Chase Auto Finance. In spite of receiving this documentation, which came straight from Bank of America, Chase refused to give me any of the money they'd cost me as a result of this. The reason? The double payments were authorized by my bank's online billing!
When I called about this, I was not allowed to speak to the claims representative, but I was offered a great deal on a credit card after the denial. I did nothing wrong through this process. I stayed with it, I trusted in their corporate claim system and I kept paying my bill (though I put a stop to the auto payments). Still, my money is gone and Chase Auto Finance offers only a disconnected string of poorly informed (though often pleasant, remarkably aware) phone representatives to help me start the whole process over again. All that can come out of this for me is that when the reader of this is thinking about getting a loan or opening a checking account, they remember my experience and refuse to give these frauds their money. I incurred $175 in overdraft fees.

I went online to pay my May payment and the minimum was listed as 0.00. I called to find out why and was told that due to the economy, I was being given the opportunity to skip the month's payment with no repercussions. This was on May 26, 2009 at approximately 1 am. On 6-4-09, I received a letter from Chase saying that my credit limit had been reduced by $2400. I have had this card since 2000 and one of the reasons listed was, "Too few accounts with time on file greater than 36 months." I also have an Amazon card with them that I've had since 2004.
I logged on today, 6-5-09, to make a payment to that card. I noticed that my minimum payment on my larger card had increased by over $150! This is more of an increase than I can pay. When I called, I was told that I had an over limit fee, that I had exceeded my limit due to new charges early in May. However, when those charges, approximately $500, were made I still had between $2000 and $3000 available credit. The limit was decreased after the charges were made, putting my balance at $84 in excess of my newly reduced limit. I was then charged over limit fees. The representative agreed to waive the over limit fees and told me to pay a new minimum payment instead.
My issue is not that the limit was reduced, it is that Chase reduced it to below what I had already charged and then penalized me for it. All this after deferring my previous payment "to help out during these difficult economic times," and saying there would be no repercussions. I have never missed a payment, always paid between $5 and $50 over the minimum and with one exception on the smaller limit card. I have never been late on a payment over at least nine years. I have been diligent about continuing to make my payments, even though I often feel that the interest rates are excessive and criminal. Yet, I distinctly feel that there were indeed repercussions for electing to defer my payment despite what I was told. I have also been in customer service for over 15 years and feel that from both business and human standpoints, such a practice is dishonest, fraudulent, and simply put, wrong.

I'm absolutely appalled by Chase. I was recently laid off from my job and I am a college student so times are pretty tough, as for most people these days. I decided to call Chase and explain the situation to them to see if we can work out some sort of arrangement. I wasn't even 30 days late on my car payment, nor have I ever been delinquent with my car payments until this one time. The woman I spoke to brought me to tears. The rudest, most evil woman I have ever talked to. She told me that I had more than enough time to come up with the money. I told her I was doing the best that I could and was out looking for jobs and even selling plasma for the time being. That wasn't good enough for her, apparently. She then proceeded to tell me that if I really wanted to keep my car, then I would find a way by any means necessary. She told me to sell stuff on eBay or just borrow the money. Seriously, who has the money to borrow these days? My friends and family are going through tough times themselves.
Thankfully, I was able to borrow money from a friend and paid the past due balance that very day. Again, I was not even 30 days late. My next payment was not due for another 20 days or so. However, the next week after making the past due payment a guy shows up at my door threatening to take my car away. I do not understand! I made the payment and I didn’t have one due! A few days later, I checked my bank account to find that Chase had taken out the next month’s payment (that wasn’t even due yet) without my authorization. I ended up getting a ton of overdraft fees and was negative $400 in my account. My bank told me I would have to contact Chase and have them pay for the overdraft fees and refund the amount they took out. Do you think I have seen that money? Nope! They didn't believe me and said they would have to look into it further. I'm still negative. Something has to be done.

On a regular basis, Chase is taking my monthly payments and applying them solely for interest and sending me notices that my account is delinquent. In the month of January, I sent Chase auto finance via Moneygram a total of $1166.68 which for November's payment, December's payment and January's payment. Chase then turned around and stated that my January payment was not received because they applied all that money to interest. So after telling them I was filing a complaint with Consumer Affairs, DMV, etc, my account manager, Fatima, submitted for me a deferred payment which I didn't agree to because my account was current.
However, with the deferred payment, they still tried to state that a payment was due for February. However, after continuing to complain, they stated the payment was due in March 26, 2009. So in March, I sent a payment in the amount of $350 which was short by $38 which is my regular car note. However, they forwarded all my money towards interest and then stated that owe $101 for April and my account is 30 days past due. The rep when I called on Sunday was extremely rude saying, "You're behind two months for April and May," just being extremely disrespectful. Now, I spoke to a rep today who then stated something about a bounced check in February which I didn't have an account in February. This is why I have to pay some interest payment. I only send my money either Moneygram or by mail. What is the law in regards to interest payments?

Calling the toll free number listed on the statement, I explained the situation to the customer service representative. The representative replied that a bill was sent out on time and that I was now late with my payment. I then told the representative that I had never received the bill in the mail, which was the case. The representative replied that if I were to send in the payment right away, the late charges would be dropped. I promptly sent in the payment.
Approximately two weeks later, I received another late charge notice for the next month's payment. Calling customer service again, I explained the situation. This time, the representative replied that I was sent a notice several months ago explaining that Chase Auto Finance was now going to discontinue sending monthly billing statements and would be changing to a quarterly ticket book payment arrangement (and that I was supposedly also mailed a book of payment tickets with this communication). I replied that I had never been sent such a notice or the book of payment tickets.
Instead of apologizing for any inconvenience and assuring me that an envelope with full information as well as ticket book would be promptly sent to me, and that the late charges would be dismissed in light of the situation (because I was always prompt with my previous payments), the representative became argumentative, continually repeating that I was sent the notice of policy change and ticket book, I am now late in my payment and that I must have received the notice in the mail but probably did not read it, etc. I then asked to be transferred to a supervisor but the representative continued to be argumentative. After a long wait (approximately 10 minutes), I was transferred to a supervisor. After explaining the matter to this supervisor, the supervisor, more calmly, repeated what the representative had said. Therefore, no real attempt was made by Chase Auto Finance to assist me.

I explained to her that they would be receiving a check from Canby Ford in the total of about $2100 to pay off the balance. She started arguing with me, accusing me of falsifying my application on the purchase of the Jeep and that I needed to pay the balance off today. She was very rude and unreasonable. I did not put anything on the credit app that was not true of the money I had coming in, but shortly after buying the Jeep, my husband filed for divorce and left me with no money coming in off our business that I own 50% of and had that money coming in until he left me. She told me that was of no concern to her, that I lied on my credit app. and she threatened to start garnishing my paycheck. My hours have been cut due to the economy and I barely can make ends meet, but all she cared about was accusing me of lying on my credit app.

I have an auto loan with Chase Auto Finance. In June of 2008, I started to fall behind on payments while being out of work on maternity leave but never got up to more than 2 payments past due. I explained my hardship to the reps at Chase and promised to make a serious effort to be on time in the future. I constantly get back to back phone calls from Chase reps on my home, cell and work phones. The calls come 3-4 times in a row, one after another, if I miss the calls. During a conversation with a rep from Chase, I was maybe 35 days past due and offered to pay partial at that time, and the remainder a few days later after getting paid.
The rep I was speaking to told me that I needed to make a decision now to either pay the total due immediately, or volunteer to surrender the car. I told the rep I needed to talk things over with my husband first to see if we could borrow the money, or consider surrendering the vehicle but couldn't make the decision at that very moment. The rep replied, “No, you need to either make the payment now, or I will make the decision easy for you and have the vehicle removed from your premises.” She then went on to verify the current location of the vehicle. This particular rep was extremely rude and unprofessional.
In the recent months, I am constantly harassed by a man named John ** from Chase. He calls my home, and if there’s no answer, he leaves a message and then calls my work cell phone. If I miss the call, he sends a numeric page to call him and immediately redials my cell 2-3 more times, and leaves messages such as “This is John ** from Chase Auto and I have made several attempts to reach you which are unsuccessful. You need to immediately return my call, or I will have to make a decision on your behalf. Do not hesitate; return my call immediately.” Then he hangs up and calls right back again.
I have explained numerous times to Mr. Harold that I am experiencing financial difficulties at the moment, and then he will begin to state that I get paid on a weekly basis so I should be able to make the payment the coming Friday at the latest. Or, if I state that I will call in on a particular day in the coming week to make my payment, he will badger me to set up an electronic payment right then. When I answer my work cell or office phone and advise him that I'm at work and can’t speak now, he continues to go into details about his failed attempts to reach me and threatens to make a decision on my behalf if I don’t speak with him.
I have explained that I work in transportation and can’t be contacted at work. My relatives are constantly called by him when he doesn't reach me, and all the while I’m not even 30 days behind yet! I cannot take the harassment from this company any longer! The reps are rude, pushy, persistent, and unprofessional. Even after I changed my cell number, somehow Chase lied to my family members I listed as references to get my new number.

I was in the construction industry for 20+ years and we all know what has happened to housing jobs there, a thing of the past right now. So I have taken another job to pay my bills and keep a roof over my head until housing comes back. And yes, I am working at a severely reduced income but I'm making it. But I have one big problem. I have a truck financed through Chase Financial. I got behind on this truck by 2 months and now have it almost caught up sending in a payment every two weeks when I get paid. I went through the nastiest phone call of my life today for being 6 days late.
It started months ago and they were without a doubt the nastiest people I have ever talked with (and I have talked to thousands of people on the phone; that's what I'm doing now myself). And when they told me they were going to repo the truck albeit with only $1,500 owed on it, I told them to go ahead just to get them off my phone so I did not have to hear their nastiness anymore. I was actually going to give them a truck I have paid over $23,000 on to never have to talk to them again. And I didn't answer their calls for 2 months until I got caught up on the payments. Well, they haven't repo'ed the truck and don't threaten with that any longer because I told them they did when they were humiliating me again and they could not figure out if they had or hadn’t (some bookkeeping system they got going on there). They think they have it that's why they don't threaten with that anymore. They think they have the truck.
That was the only headway I have made with these people. They think they have the truck so they don't threaten me with repo'ing it. But the calls for the remaining balance are relentless. I went through a major battle with this lady over the remaining $422 left owed on the truck because it is 6 days late. This is the last payment on a truck that they think they have! To say I won't be getting a title from Chase is a given so I guess I'm going to part the truck out after I pay it off. It's going to be heartbreaking to part out a beautiful truck (I’ve taken great care of it), because the finance company is so nasty. I'll never get the title because they think they have possession of the truck and there is no need to send me a title once I pay the loan off. This is an assumption I know but I'm almost positive I’ll be right. Time will tell.
I don't have the money for a lawyer so I guess this is just the way it’s going to be. I work for a collections agency now until housing comes back and I can go back to that line of work again. As a matter of a fact, I work for one of the largest in the country and in the past 2 months, we have been top performers in our field. And if I ever talked to a customer the way Chase talks to me, I would be looking for another job, pronto! I gave them a cease and desist order and they called me later that day (I know by guidelines they were not supposed to call for 10 days) and I ask the girl if she had ever heard of the FDCPA. She told me that she was familiar with it, but that did not apply to them and I owed them money and clarified to me that my next paycheck was their money! And when I got paid on Friday, she better have it by Saturday! And this is for the last payment! I know when our customers start to pay their way out of a delinquent account, we cheer them on and tell them how good they’re doing. It makes them pay faster and they usually reinstate the account.
I have never told Chase that I know they are making a mockery out of the FDCPA and that I do the same work as them. I figured it would only fuel the fire that they have with me. The company I work for got a bail out too and it’s being used to sponsor programs to help people pay their debt. I write these loans all day long and they are making a difference helping these people pay their debt off. Although I know a lot of you out there with problem don't believe that. I was never offered any kind of a program with Chase. Chase is using their bailout to train these people to be nasty like that (I know professional collectors do not act this way; it's in their training) and to take money from people after they think they have taken their vehicle they don't even know if they have or not (shows some very bad bookkeeping). They just want what they describe as their money! That's the same money I describe as my paycheck that I have to eat on and house myself for 2 weeks until I get another that I’m sure Chase will figure out a fee to take that too even after the loan is paid in full.
I'll post another complaint in a few weeks after I have paid this vehicle off and see how the rest of the Chase experience finishes out. And by the way, yes, I do ring people’s phone 10 times a day myself and I'm very pushy for payment. It’s my job but I have never degraded and humiliated people for a payment. The very large and successful agency I work for does not train us to use tactics like that. All that does is make people hate the fact that they are having to pay you. We have a very different set of tools that we use that is much more successful and people usually reinstate their accounts even after being in collections.

After reading all these complaints, I don't feel so alone in my feeling about Chase Auto Finance. I purchased a vehicle last summer through Chase (my first time). Shortly afterward, I lost my job. Chase was horrible to work with. They were unhelpful, rude and heartless. They called my home day and night (even after agreeing to payment arrangements). They called references and told them they were concerned because they could not locate me because they lost my contact information; although they had spoken to me just days prior and immediately afterward! They threatened me over and over to repossess my car and I wasn't even 30 days late. They refused to stop calling. They told me that they will keep calling because it was their right.
They even called my mother-in-law and discussed my account (at least twice). I complained to BBB and that went in circles. They reported to the BBB that I was 3 months behind (a total lie) and they were following the guidelines for the Fair Debt Collection Act, even though they were obviously abusing the interpretation of it. I eventually got a message from a vice president who passed me off to his assistant (who never returned my calls). I was so frustrated that the only thing I could do was request to BBB that they cease all communication (except for monthly statements). That angered them, so they shot off a letter stating that if I ever get behind on my payments again, they will repossess without notice. Oh, did I mention this all took place over the holidays? Nice! Merry Christmas Chase!

I financed a Jeep through Chase. Shortly after I purchased it, my husband filed for divorce which blindsided me and I did not have any money coming in to make payments. I kept calling them to come get the Jeep. Finally they did. 3 mos later, now I'm trying to resolve the deficiency amount. They were very rude when I was trying to find out if they received the canceled warranty reimbursement check and the canceled gap insurance check which would cover my balance plus refund me some money but, of course, they have not received it. And they told me that interest will keep accruing on the balance until paid. These people are very rude and not very helpful. I got hung up on 2 times this morning trying to call them and then got transferred to a voice mail box that was full and could not take any more messages.

As with many Americans, I lost my job, got behind on my car note. I'm now 1 month behind, and incurring late charges which change daily. What was a $560 payment is now $730. When I tried to discuss the issue with Chase, they have the most disrespectful employees. I also get on the average of one phone call every 45 minutes from Chase on my caller ID. Consequence: Mental anguish. When you do speak with them, they are belittling. Ask for a Supervisor and told no - I didn't have a significant reason.

I lived in Alabama when my husband left me. I have no family there. He took me to Alabama where I knew no one and left me there alone. I tried to do my best in paying my bills and raising my daughter and my son that had just started college. And I was just getting in a deeper and deeper hole. What my soon to be ex-husband only sent me an equivalent of about 100 a month. I got behind on my truck payment as a lot of other bills. I would get harassing calls by Terry at least 3 to 4 times a month. She left me a message that if I didn't call her back before the end of the day that I better believe that I will be sorry. When I got back late at night from work and heard the message I called her right away. By then she was gone for the day and I was so stressed I thought they were going to come take my truck. Every 20 min I would look outside to see if my truck was still there.
After that I has so much trouble sleeping. I got to a point where I just had to leave and go back to California where all my family was because I couldn't afford to support myself and my child. I had to start not paying other bills so I would be able to pay my truck (I would have given the truck up) but that was the only reliable mode of transportation to and from work. On top of that I had to overdraft my bank so I can be able to do the drive to California. Once I got to California. My brother took me in and the harassing calls started there. (I am one month behind on my payment) I was told that since I am with my brother and I don’t have to pay any bills, that there was no reason I can't pay my truck payment. How does she know I have no other bills to pay? And it took me a week after I came when I started working. I also have all the bills I left behind, that I have to pay.
Terry is a very mean lady. I feel she enjoys her job very much. This past month I have been making my payments still one month late but when I call to make a payment she always makes me cry and distressed. And when I ask to speak to her supervisor, he always defends her and yells at me then he hangs up on me. I know that I am at fault here for paying my bill late. But there are other ways of collecting money from people. And ways on not treating them like dogs. Terry constantly harasses me and yells at me over the phone. It has got to the point that I have had my sister call to make a payment for me. But she got it really bad too. So I can't do that anymore.
I come from a company that considers customer service their highest priority. It amazes me that such a big company can get away with this kind of harassment. I have tried to call and ask for the supervisors, supervisor but for some reason they say he has no voice mail and he is never in. I am making my payment today, so I can be caught up. After this I was going to do a direct withdrawal so they can take it out of my back account so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. But I think I was lead to this website and saw all the complaints.
Now I am scared to do a direct withdrawal with them... who know what will happen then. I don't know if there is a case for this, but this lady Terry and her supervisor have made me gone through so much stress with this truck that my hair has been falling. I guess I can thank them for losing 20 lbs. it never seems to fail that when I call to make a payment she always makes me cry and distraught. I am in constant fear that my only means of transportation will be taken from me.

I purchased a 2007 Subaru Forester last year. I was making good money at the time; however because of several medical problems and surgery, I got behind on my bills. Chase did help me with two payments by putting them at the end of my loan. However, when I asked them to please let me refinance, I was told that the loan was too new and that they could not help me but to ask again in six months. I need the help now, not in six months. Also, one of my payments that I sent on time was put towards the principal and not as my payment. So I received several calls on this before it was rectified. I receive calls at least six or seven times a day, and if I am not home sometimes some very rude messages are left on my machine. I am threatened with repo. When I call Chase, I never speak to the same person and no one seems to know what was done with any of the other reps. Why don't they have this information before them before they make harassing calls. I fully intend to make my payments and get my finances back in order but Chase will not listen.

I went to Mercedes Benz of Wilmington DE on 9/22/06. We went to hopes to trade my car in in which I only had 2 years left on my note. I traded into a 2007 GL450 that made my car note go from $800 with Mercedes Benz to $1628 with Chase. I called the very next day to say to Stephen of Mercedes that the note was extremely too high and he told me to call him back on the next day. Which by then went beyond my 3-day return. I am now 3 months behind in my car note. I tried to call Chase to get a refinance of the loan and they stated that my DTI was not good enough to fix this. This is the same income that was used to qualify initially. I have tried calling everywhere, I even tried on numerous occasions to call Mercedes back and go there as well because I still go there for service. Bad Credit and late payments entered on my credit report.
