Caliber Home Loans was the lender in a recent home purchase for us in Sevierville, TN. We found them to be very professional, and personable, in every aspect of business. They kept on top of everything, and then passed information on to us in a timely manner. We did the whole process online, which could have been complicated. They made it easy. They set a closing date, and we closed on that date in spite of some delays from outside persons. My husband and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to purchase a home.

Very helpful in guiding us throughout the entire process. We ended up with a very satisfactory deal and there were no surprises. We are in a new home and very happy. We are financially solid in our new mortgage - it was a very positive experience.

Katie and Lori guided us through our first home buying process seamlessly. They we available, helpful, knowledgeable, and overall KIND. Although never having met either face to face, we felt as though we had. During such a vulnerable situation that was EXTREMELY comforting. We appreciate them and we have already recommended them by word of mouth to friends. Thank you to them personally as well as Caliber Home Loans for getting us through the purchase of our first home.

The reps I talked to were nice. My main gripe with Caliber is that when they purchased my loan from HFC, they took all the payments that were to be paid at the end of the loan and put them at the beginning of the loan. When I took I took advantage of HFC's skip-a-month options, HFC tacked those payments at the end of the loan. I was current with HFC when Caliber purchased my mortgage. In fact, I paid an additional to HFC before I rec'd a letter from Caliber advising me not to send any more funds. No one appears to know where that $100 went. Instead of billing me my normal monthly payments, Caliber send me bills for thousands of dollars more than they should. (i.e. my monthly payment is less than $500 but they send me a bill for $3,600 etc.) I have verbally requested they correct their invoices by putting the deferred payments at the end of the loan where HFC had put them but the Caliber rep told me no.

My husband recently died on 1/27/17 and he managed the mortgage. I have faxed and mailed in court documents along with the death certificate on two separate times (2/21/17 & 3/6/17) so I can obtain and conduct transactions regarding the mortgage. I spoke with a supervisor and was told on Friday, 3/7/17 that he obtained my information and everything was uploaded into the system so I can get information and make arrangements to pay what is owed in addition to the monies for the uncollected fees in the amount $1,932.70 would be waived.

Great experience. This was my first time buying a home. Alicia was always very responsive to any and all of my questions. I felt things went smoothly and the Docusign made things easy. I would definitely recommend Caliber to friends and family.

I can't believe how quickly my loan (Va Home Loan) was processed and professionally. Gerry and the rest of the team amazing. Every time I had a doubt or question they quickly called me back or emailed. Wish I was offered an lower APR for my credit score but still can't complain. Definitely will recommend.

The people I dealt with was very professional with me even when I was losing it. They were patient and did their best to put me at ease when I was stressing. For the most part all my calls were returned in a timely manner and that was very helpful. Thank you.

One extremely grateful and very satisfied customer. My experience with Ken ** continued to be one with confidence and total reassurance I was getting the best rate available, but most importantly the best service second to none. During my loan process I entertained a few other options as I was contacted by a few lenders and by a couple contacts I initiated. Every single time I hung up the phone I knew CALIBER was who I was going to stay with. My situation was somewhat challenging due to my divorce and still Ken and Hollie ** eased my mind and kept my security in that they had my back. They always addressed my concerns and returned my calls in a very quick fashion, they truly care about their customers.

I have nothing but praise for the personnel that assisted me in successfully obtaining a mortgage in a timely manner. The communication and coordination efforts, as well as the financial issues were handled in a very professional manner. Your team is beyond reproach.

This guy Rod **... Awesome! Kept me updated throughout the entire process. Worked around figures to help me out. The folks at the East Lansing Branch were very effective and efficient. They were always there when I needed something and were quickly to respond. They did a great job closing on my home and would recommend them to anyone I know buying or refinancing their home. Glad I got to know them. Thank you team Lansing.

David ** and his team were incredibly easy to work with. On top of that, every turn of my experience with them was a demonstration of utmost professionalism - they were, kind, friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive. Because of these factors, we were able to secure our chosen property and close with ease and comfort.

Joe ** (from Caliber Home Loans) did exactly what he said he would do and was a pleasure to work with to get our refinance done. We would highly recommend him. But we were not happy with the service we received from the appraiser or the escrow company. The escrow company (Corinthian Title Co.) had to pay off credit card bills as part of the refinance. They sent out 2 of the 3 payments with incorrect information which took extra phone calls/emails to fix and an extra 3-4 weeks until it was all done. That being said, we would still highly recommend doing a refinance with Joe at Caliber Home Loans.

I found Caliber when I was searching for a company to help me refinance my house. The staff did an excellent job of helping me through the process in a timely manner. Thanks to them, I now have a new loan with a lower monthly payment and was still able to take some money out to fix up the house.

We had a great experience working with Caliber. Our mortgage adviser was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the whole process and has continued to offer support and advice as needed since our home has closed. I would absolutely recommend Caliber.

I had a good experience dealing with your representative, Lucy **, at Caliber Home Loans. She made it easier for me to understand everything that needed to be done to secure the loan, answered all my questions and made me feel that I was in capable hands being kind and congenial throughout the process.

I am a veteran that applied for a VA loan. The loan coordinator knew exactly what to do. I was told about, and signed up for, Iowa specific Veteran Home Loan benefits. I knew exactly where my loan stood at all times. A weekly status update was provided to me through email. The loan coordinator was always able to be reached. I could text her a question at 7 p.m. and get a response within minutes. I definitely recommend Caliber Home Loans to any veteran looking to buy a home.

We were treated excellent by Scott and his team. We were extremely pleased with the process and would definitely use Caliber again. I can honestly say we never felt like "just another client". Scott treated us like we were old friends.

I have to say this was a very pleasant experience. Efficient and on time closing. Very painless. Highly recommend. Minimal paperwork as mostly everything done online. When there was an issue, personnel helped to get it resolved so as not to delay the closing.

They said we had to call her every month to see what our payment would be that month. For 5 months it was different. After 9 months they tried to take our home on Christmas. Said we never made a payment but I was suspicious so I paid with bank certified check. Bank said they cashed them the day they received it. But we still had to hire a lawyer to fight them even though REGIONS BANK said they cashed the checks and we paid more than was supposed to be paid. Costing us thousands to fight them. They want our home.

Dante, was recommended by a friend and it was definitely a great recommendation. Through various offers, Dante stuck by me and never denied service. Even, when it wasn't in his interest, he gave me great advice and continually pointed me in the right direction. Choosing Caliber was the best decision I made in the home buying process.

Caliber was great to work with. It was a very easy process. Loved being able to sign initial docs by eSig. Was kept informed of the process. It was easy and very quick. The overall experience was good although there seemed to be a lack of communication between staff. Re-submitting information became frustration but overall it was a good experience for me and my wife. I plan to recommend this loan agency to friends and family.

Caliber did a fantastic job through every step of the mortgage process. Their staff, including John **, are outstanding. Last year my husband had surgery and we suffered a loss of income. Contacted Caliber Home Loans and it has been nothing but hell dealing with them. They are deceptive about what documents are needed and ask you for documents not listed on the document sheet. Even when you use their own system to upload a document they say it still takes the company 5 business days to review it. I have been dealing with them since last October. They take so long processing things that you end up having to send new updated documents constantly.

Wally and Charlie ** are a great team and helped us first time home buyers understand the process and walk us through each step of the way. I am very happy with my experience and don't have any complaints. I will definitely recommend friends in the future.

We decided to refinance to consolidate a loan and get a lower interest rate. We sent to Darin ** who was fantastic and was always on top of the process and kept us informed through every step of the refinance. Completely happy with the way everything went down and was completed.

After a few confusing and frustrating dead ends with other mortgage brokers and lenders, I connected with Missy ** at Caliber Home Loans. Everything went quickly and smoothly after that. I could not recommend anyone more highly. If you haven't applied for a mortgage loan for awhile, it can be a very disorienting process these days. We owned our last home for 16 years and did not expect such a minefield getting a loan for a new home. Missy was head-and-shoulders above anyone else we spoke to. She was prompt, communicative and professional. We never felt uninformed or confused. Talk to Missy before you waste your time anywhere else!

Customer service is horrible. I'm trying increase my payments. Can't log on to the website, nobody returns emails, can't get a human to speak to, and I don't get my monthly statement via email. This is a VA loan. I'm a retired military veteran. Fix the simple issue, or I will find someone that can. I can't even speak to a real person when I call the company headquarters. I bet I would get human interaction if I missed a payment. I deserve human interaction NOW!!!

EVERY time you want to get an answer to a question you are put on a long hold and then sent to different people in different departments who can't solve your issue. We recast our loan and it took them several months instead of weeks to simply re-amortize the loan. They sent several contracts back and forth and you weren't allowed to talk to or have a representative for your loan. We went to their local office asking for help and they told us all they do there is take apps. Then they wouldn't take the PMI off even though their own contract states that will be done automatically. They have been impossible to work with since day one and I would never recommend them. If we were not retired I would refinance with a different company but we are stuck with Caliber.

We struggled for 2 months with another company only to be denied. They insisted we needed a much higher interest rate loan which made the guidelines strict. Found out later they listed our application with a bankruptcy which we've never had. I contacted Joe and Wendy from the Shelby Twp, Mi office. Explained our situation and in 3 weeks we were approved and closed. 3 weeks!!! And we got a regular conventional loan at half the interest rate. We're very glad we made the call.

The staff of Caliber was very responsive to our questions (which we had quite a few) and always made sure we were clear in their responses. As a first time buyer, the whole process was foreign and the only comment I have is that when at closing, knowing that the staff do these every day sometimes more than once, to remember that buyers don't! Go slow, make sure the client has it all clear. I would have loved a checklist on a single sheet to keep all the details in order! Thanks again for a great experience!

Excellent customer service. Easy application and quick underwriting. Obtained prequalification letter. We liked that they service their own loans. Nowadays, mortgage loans are sold and it is luck of the draw as they hear you get a competent services.

I have a home loan with Caliber Home Loans. Caliber Home Loans has failed to pay my property taxes even though I have an escrow. I called my county property tax collector and they have not received a payment yet. WHY SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT THIS WHEN YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY IT? I called customer care and I was told a check has been sent, But they CANNOT TRACK WHAT HAPPENED TO CHECK AND NEED 10 DAYS TO FIND IT. The due date to pay taxes is in few days so I had to pay first installment of taxes to avoid dues. Your customer service people are rude and your process is so lame. Why 10 days to find out what happened to the check you are supposed to send to county??? I will TELL EVERYONE I KNOW not to get a loan here. I will transfer my loan to some other bank soon. Very bad treatment!!

I sold my house over a month ago - not a short sale or foreclosure, outright sold it and funds issued to Caliber. I waited the appropriate amount of time and then called to ask about my Escrow Account which was about $1,000. I was told that was a 'cease and desist' issued by a lawyer and they sent my funds to them. I called that lawyer and they said they did not issue one nor did they receive a check and that there was no reason to issue a CaD so I called CHL again. They claimed it was an error. They would send my check out that day and now today I get a letter claiming there is a cease and desist against me. Now know one thing, I NEVER paid my account late, not even by one day and they cannot produce the cease and desist letter so that leaves me to conclude they are STEALING my money.

We just sold our house to a buyer with Caliber Home Loans as their lender. They tried to make numerous changes on the last day of closing. Completely unprofessional and should have had this done weeks ago.

Ann ** worked very hard at getting the loan arranged and was super at keeping us updated at all times. She responded immediately to any questions we had during the process. She and all the businesses coordinated smoothly through out the entire process and the whole house purchase finalized ahead of schedule. Like any else, we would have like a bit lower interest rate but happy to have it all done.

Caliber Home Loans and specifically Christy ** were amazing to work with. They were professional and personable. They understood our needs and helped us obtain a loan on our house. When others would give up, they kept working. We are so thankful, and appreciate all you do!

Even though there were lots of hoops and repeats of necessary documents to be sent in, we would still highly recommend our loan officer for anyone who wants to work with someone willing to go the extra mile to figure out which program is a home buyer's best option.

I am forever grateful to Caliber for assisting me with buying my first home. It was not an easy decision to buy however they made it an easy process. This was perhaps the easiest financial process we have ever experienced. Mark ** was prompt and professional in all our interactions. He was recommended by the local people in our new neighborhood as the only "money man" to go to and it worked very well for us. He provided us with advice on how to work with our downpayment as well as getting us a good loan for our situation. If I had any complaint it was that we got so much documentation in so fast that sometimes we got a second request from Ashley for something that was already in. Regardless, all responses were quick and positive.

Frank and his team worked hard on my mortgage. Their communication was excellent and my mortgage was closed on time. Thanks again for getting my mortgage refinance done and my payment lowered. Getting a mortgage is not a fun process but Caliber's website and scan and upload process made it easier than expected.

I had a great experience getting a home loan through Caliber. Things went smoothly, and the communication was very good. A+ for that! On the other hand, I can't load my mortgage information into Mint.com. Mint is apparently blocked from logging in to a customer account. This is a known issue, and it's up to Caliber to fix this. Giving 4 stars because of this issue.

My cash out refinance through Caliber was quick and simple. Everyone I worked with was professional and responsive. My initial contact was with Craig **, he got the refi rolling, then Nupur ** processed the loan. Great team, highly recommend!!!

I am submitting this review to voice my objection and displeasure with the loss draft process of Caliber Home Loans. A tree fell into my house in July 2016. We live in the Northeast. My claim was not settled with the insurance company for payment until Nov. 2016. The check came in our name as well as Caliber's. We mailed them the check which they deposited. We are now subject to their burdensome reimbursement process. They require all sorts of contractor documentation. In order to disburse funds, their inspector has to view the property, they have to evaluate his report and release the funds. Each step of the process takes 5-7 business days. Small contractors cannot wait 3-4 weeks for payment. I have had to front all the repairs and wait for reimbursement.

Barbara was absolutely amazing. She was integral throughout the entire process. She walked me through each step and answered any questions I had, but the truly amazing part was her input in the whole process due to her past experience and knowledge. She was able to help my realtor at any step as well as guide me. I cannot thank her enough and thank Caliber for our beautiful new home!

Incompetent, slow, repetitious, lost all our personal information, in an electronic data age, after starting a loan 7 months in advance of needing to close. Management, unresponsive and inaccessible to help with problems created by Caliber. Save yourself time and money, not to mention the anger that is created with having any kind of relationship with this so called #2 business in mortgages. They're # 2 alright, if you catch my drift. My wife and I have excellent credit, so that's not the issue. It is my experience that this company has a high turn over rate. That speaks volumes in itself. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. If I could give them a zero... it would be a -0.

Dan did a fabulous job in guiding this financing. I would recommend Dan to anyone. He is a consummate professional and really knows his craft. He was attentive, responsive and timely with all information and deliverables. Great job, Dan!

Our experience with Josh and his team in the Rockledge office was outstanding!!! Complete survey with specifics submitted recently.... quick to respond, very professional, communication excellent using email, phone, us mail and 1x1 meetings in office, no surprises throughout the process. Closing costs almost to the exact penny.

Working with Brad and Kyle from Caliber Home Loans was awesome! They were great and made the process easier than I ever could have imagined! This was my first home purchasing experience, so I was a little nervous, but Brad and Kyle answered all my questions with ease and a bright attitude!

Terra ** was the most professional and thorough person I have ever known. She got our loan done in 3 weeks over the Christmas/New Years. I will highly recommend her. She followed through with everything and kept us informed all the way through the process.

Never and I repeat never use them. For starters you can never get through to a live person. It's all automated. They bought off my loan and were sending all my mail to complete wrong address. When I finally got through to them, they tell me that they are not responsible to get correct address. This so messed up and it ended up ruining my credit.

Matt ** and his team were great to work with. Liz and Karla helped keep me informed as well as Matt. The text messages were helpful too. Any questions I had were answered quickly and thoroughly. Overall a great experience. Will definitely be back if we ever move again (heaven forbid!!! Lol).

I am extremely happy with my experience with Caliber Home loans. I was already halfway through the process of financing my 3 home purchase with my VA benefits. A friend of mine, Trinette ** was completing her own home purchase and suggested I just talk to the VA lender she used, Kelly **. I was reluctant and felt that Navy Federal had done a good job so far, but I did want to make sure I was using the right lender. I wasn't! Between charging me for things they shouldn't have, requiring a significant closing cost and the fact that they had difficulty getting documents to my finance officer, I found Kelly's approach, MUCH better.

We had an amazing experience with our loan consultant Devin **, from start to finish we worked on our loan and what we needed to get my house closed. He worked so hard on mortgage. We have no words to express how happy we are. Uploading the docs was always a breeze and even the text notifications were very helpful. Caliber has top notch technology and we are very happy for that as well.

Truly a good experience, when I look back at the time it took and the amount of paperwork we were subjected to. Everyone was knowledgeable and experienced. Thank you all for your help in the navigation of the mortgage world. I'm sure we are going to enjoy the new digs.

From start to end of loan application and funding was very satisfactory. My loan officer was very professional and handle all my needs very excellent way. The loan processing people were very understanding and performed every step loan approval to funding.

Don made the whole process as quick and easy as possible! He responded anytime I had a question and was friendly and professional throughout the process. Most everything was handled electronically and I believe that made it possible for us to close escrow so quickly.

I had not had any problems with Caliber Home Loans as we always paid our mortgage on time and have always paid extra towards the principal monthly. Then October 9, 2016, Hurricane Matthew caused flooding to our home. We have USAA insurance and were told that they were the best and that we were in great hands. The insurance company has responded quickly and got us an advance of $13k to get started on our home. Our damages are around $60k. We received the check from USAA and sent it to Caliber and they signed and returned it. Because the insurance adjusters estimate was too low compared to the contractor quotes we received, we requested they re-work it and in the meantime send us more advancement so we could continue to get our home worked on. We have 6 children living in a house with no kitchen, laundry, or any functionality in the downstairs of our home.

I got a mortgage through Caliber a few months ago. Their web server is sometimes slow as heck to load pages... like, more than two minutes per page slow. Today it took me more than a half hour to set up recurring payments. Since probably 90% of the interaction I'll have with the company from here on is with their website, this is a pretty important thing to flop at.

I recently purchased an investment property and had my loan sold to Caliber Home Loans. I manage all of my financial accounts through a service called Mint.com. I have found out recently that Caliber updated their IT systems and now automatically blocks requests from Mint to populate my loan on their system. I have no issues with any other bank or lending institution so to me this is unacceptable. I do not want to have to regularly login to Calibers system when I login to Mint for everything else including but not limited to my checking/saving/credit cards/car loan/multiple home loans/investment accounts. I really hope they change their stance on preventing Mint from connecting and allow me as a user the convenience of using Mint for the services it provides.

We called Caliber 2 times. Both times they said they would call back. Then I call them back and they say, "Oh we are only rep." HELLO? I am very upset. Caliber has always been a great company but when you call in we want to talk to a person that can help, not call us back, something that never happens.

My loan officer was Sam **. Things started out pretty slow. I was told that at that time I would get a loan for 3.5%. But as time passed I was asked for some information that I could not get from the Federal Government and other pensions that I had coming to me. A breakdown of the current pension and annuities was required, but as I previously mentioned, the government and other agencies would not include deductions to these benefits because, according to the government, it is so easy to change deductions and their amounts. When we had questions regarding the home loan our loan officer was always annoyed or made us feel like we were dumb, or stupid. Caliber hides behind the curtain of HUD when they do not like you. I should know since I am disabled and at every turn they hammered us. We finally gave up; just too tired to continue and it is not worth it!
