My previous mortgage was also with Caliber. That experience led back to Caliber for obvious reasons... just great people with great knowledge of their field. If I have 10 more mortgages... they will all lead to Caliber. FYI... Elliot ** in your Chandler AZ office was the best!!!

My neighbor has a loan with Caliber. We are in the process of performing a boundary line adjustment where I will purchase a narrow strip of their land for the purpose of widening my driveway. This requires their lender Caliber to sign off on the partial release of that portion of the mortgaged property. Paperwork requested to complete the request took forever to arrive from Caliber. The completed documents were submitted 3 months ago and to-date the neighbor has received only an acknowledgment that paper was received. The neighbor was told by the local agent they'd worked with that. Supposedly Caliber was going to call the following week to arrange the necessary appraisal. That was over a month ago and still no contact from Caliber.

I have been dealing with Caliber Home Loans for several years and I have had a fight on my hands every month since I bought the house. They keep applying my payment to the escrow so they can charge me late fees. The local guy here was very nice but he doesn't deal with the payments and stuff. Their staff is very rude and unprofessional. They make it very clear that they don't care about you because they will screw you over every chance that they get. If you want a company that will actually make being a homeowner easy then go somewhere else!! I would not recommend Caliber Home Loans to anyone.

As a first time home buyer, the house buying process can be very intimidating, but Caliber made the whole process simple and worry free. They walked me through each step that I needed to take, and were always easy to get a hold of when needed. Great and fantastic experience, I would highly recommend.

I switched from Quicken Loans to Caliber in the middle of the mortgage approval process because I found Quicken to be "shady" and dishonest. They (specifically my contact person Devin **) could not have made the process any better. Mr. ** was responsive and took the time to answer all of my many questions (I am a lawyer so had a lot). They delivered on all of their promises. I hope all first time buyers are lucky enough to have an experience like this.

Caliber was able to close my home loan in 20 days without cutting any corners or leaving me in the dark. I appreciated their fast, clear communication and never felt like I didn't know the status of any work items. The people were friendly, took extra time to answer my questions, and helped me feel more confident in my decisions. I'd definitely work with them again.

Our application process was a nightmare. Took nearly 6 months to close the loan. We had to resubmit the documents more than three times because they kept losing them. We didn't even get a great rate. Then they've screwed up our mortgage payments and escrow account on multiple occasions misapplying payment funds, and also failed to pay our taxes and homeowners insurance which we got a notice of intent to cancel so we had to straighten it out. We've been praying for our mortgage to be bought out by another company. It hasn't happened so we're going to try to refinance with a VA loan through someone else. Don't use Caliber! Unless it is the absolute only option. Then refinance asap and get rid of them!

Absolutely the best home buying experience with a lender. Tammy shepherd the process and ensured success over some rough spots with the sellers. Kept everyone informed throughout the process, and on the time track. Local knowledge aided in obtaining insurance and other necessities from the best players. Ensured a lock-in on very competitive rates. Service was over and beyond expectations and requirements from a lender, which can't be matched by internet lenders. My highest recommendation!

Working with Ken ** was probably the best mortgage experience I've had. He was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout the entire process. I found Caliber a train wreck. They were very slow, quickly putting us out of contract compliance. The appraisal came in below list price and Caliber provided a form letter that asked for two more comparables. A small box was provided for any narrative. The problem was more complicated than that; it often is. The seller's loan officer, not me, had to make MY case, which he didn't do very well. And then the space was minuscule. That's how we do it here. The appraiser flatly rejected my request for an amended appraisal. So I asked Caliber Homes to make a second appraisal; I would pay; that's how convinced I was it was inappropriate. Caliber took the decision to lower level management, passed to mid level, then upper level; 10 days lost! No, they finally said. "NO, we won't do it." I was stuck with this incompetent appraisal that wasn't even added up correctly.

This is our first interaction with Caliber Home Loans, unbeknownst to me this company purchase my current lender's company a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, we are right in the middle of referencing our VA loan and things could not be any worse during this acquisition time. All of the loan document are incorrect and had to be redone (three times) and are still incorrect, so all of the documents now have to be sent to us via US mail for signatures, further delaying our loan process. So far I'm extremely sorry that we are using Caliber Home Loans at this point and would not recommend them to any one veteran.

The Slone – Cain Team came strongly recommended several years ago by our highly regarded realtor. Our family has opened three mortgages with them to date. This was my second refinance. This time around, I wanted to work with someone physically closer to me. I turned to the internet and began looking for professionals in my area. Joe had some of the highest reviews, so I decided to call him. The rest of the process was like a fairytale and was so painless. With my previous refi, I had to make several in-person trips to their office. This time around, everything was handled via the phone and all documents were dealt with electronically. This made things much easier for me. Joe and his team even managed to get my loan closed and funded in the same month I first called. I think all-in-all, it was a total of three weeks. I'd definitely work with him again in the future.

BEWARE!! Scott ** of Clearwater, Florida with Caliber Home Loans is a fraud. He claims to be concerned and claims he will address your needs immediately. He takes all your paperwork and runs your credit, then never returns your calls, or texts, or emails. He drops off the grid, leaving you with your credit dinged and no responses. DO BUSINESS with him at your own risk!!

The team communicated well through most of the process until the end, when employment needed to be verified. Requiring employment verification (Again) only three days prior to closing was less than desirable. Better than some home purchases. Our real estate agent was a savior during this process.

Liberty Bank, who is managing our home loan sent us on a wild goose chase to get an apostille POA in Australia so that I could sign the loan docs on our new house while my wife was in Australia on holiday. We had to do this because my wife was not near an Embassy and was leaving for England in 48 hours from the time Liberty Bank informed us of this problem. So round and round we go, and 2 weeks and $500 later we are told by the Investors at Liberty Home Loan Inc. that they don't accept apostille POA, that my wife must sign docs at the embassy.

Refinance of an investment rental property - Great. Brandon ** was super, courteous and kind. Erica ** was nice. The mortgage connect people were efficient and very nice too. The process was fine, I am happy.

From the day I called him to get pre-approved, through settlement he worked with me and listened to my questions, issues, and concerns and did everything possible to make it go as smoothly and easy as possible. I am a Realtor and I represented a buyer in a transaction. The Sr Loan Officer waited 2-3 days to reply to emails and voicemails were rarely returned. The Loan Officer kept the seller's agent more informed with the process than my clients, the buyers. The Loan Officer felt it necessary to inform the seller's agent of the buyer's financial situation - the seller's agent knew more about the buyer's financial situation than I as a buyer's agent. Furthermore, the Branch Manager and Loan Officer continue to keep the seller's agent in the loop and updated on the buyer's financial situation, although I was in constant contact with the seller's agent regarding the closing process. The Loan Officer and the Branch Manager was more concerned about keeping the high-producing and referral client (seller's agent) than they were about their customer and my buyer.

Great company. Worked well and quick. Slowed down due to appraisal company but Caliber handled all great. Would work again and have referred friends to finance with Caliber. This was our second refinancing with Caliber and they handled all as expected.

Everyone I interacted with on the Caliber team was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I never had to worry about the funding get during the process of moving to a different state and dealing with everything else. I would use Caliber again if I could.

We were trying find and buy a house and we only had about 5 weeks to do so, we were having our first baby and didn't want to be in an apartment anymore. Rich was able to get us the loan we needed in time and Mat found us a great house in our price range.

Caliber Home Loans DOES NOT pay our property taxes. We can't get them to pay them. We have called 3 times. Once when we first got the bill in March. With Caliber Home Loans saying they will pay it by March 30th. Never happened. So now we got penalized and charged a fee from the state. They keep telling us 10 days and the payment will be there, then they say they will expedite the payment so it will be there in 5 days. Which is now going on month 2 of Caliber not paying and us getting another late fee again. Oh and they are making us pay the penalty fee for our account with the state. What a bunch of bull crap. I wish our loan was never sent to this company. The minute I can get away from this horrible company I will.

We worked with Gina mainly but also worked with others at Caliber Loans. They made our home buying experience very smooth. They kept us up to date and explained everything as the process went on. Very smooth closing also. They are very knowledgeable and professional.

I don't know how else to reach the company. The Customer Service email listed on the bill "customerservice@CaliberHomeLoans.com" is defunct/disabled. There is no history of content of messages sent to the company via the website "Contact Us" portal. Any message you send the automated-generic response is "IF a reply is NECESSARY, we will reply back to your message within 5 business days of receipt of your message." As IF your concerns are not important unless they feel NECESSARY. It's been over 120 days since my first unsuccessful contact request. I requested written correspondence because the Caliber Home Loans is litigation about phone calls so they cannot be trusted via phone. And this company does NOT have a BBB.org rating.

After months of back and forth we have finally been "re-approved" to give them money directly again. I understand it was not their fault, but this was a real pain to correct and was small issue to begin with...

On 3/15/17 my wife spoke to Ramona at ** and after a few minutes was advised that we will have to first sign an agreement then upon the move and inspection, we will receive a check for the agreed amount. Since that conversation, my wife has been trying to contact the agent that Caliber used from American Realty Group named Melvin **. This agent has been inconsistent with his stories, which the truth can be revealed as we have him on several recordings. Mr. ** is aware that contacting my wife on her phone records all calls, as he has been advised, yet he continues to state incorrect information when the truth is on record. Per the conversation with Ramona at Caliber Loans and my wife; the agent has the agreement and will set a date 30 days from the signing of the agreement, but all calls to Mr. ** have gone unanswered and unreturned.
