We got our first home loan through Caliber Home Loans and the experience that we had was amazing and really smooth. The loan officer that we dealt with really knew his stuff and was in contact with us all the time to keep us updated on the entire process of us getting the loan.

Salesman was helpful, but didn't return my call and basically dropped me after making the sale. He seemed extremely busy, so I won't hold it against him. Not a big deal for me, but others may find it upsetting. Patricia and the notary were awesome.

I understand that this is a difficult and timely process, but I was kept abreast of each step in the process. If I had questions or concerns, they were answered in a timely manner.

We worked with James ** on the mortgage for our new house. James was great to work with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The closing was delayed numerous times due to construction problems and James accommodated each change. I highly recommend Caliber Home Loans!

My agent, Rob, worked well with me. On one or two occasions I felt as though my calls were not answered or I wasn't treated as a priority but he reassured me he was in a meeting and called or texted back. He made sure he found an option that worked for me. I was also disappointed that the interest rate at closing was higher than what was proposed, but I do understand the rates are variable until locked in. Overall great experience and I will recommend them.

One of the worst company to work with. I bought 3 houses in Texas with loans given by 3 different bank and by far CALIBER was the worst of all. Since three months, they have been going round and round and asking us for more and more documents. We provided all the documents to the first loan officer who quit after working with us for 2 months and now the new loan officer is the same. Asking us same documents what first loan officers asked, so basically our whole time was wasted. Don't you guys have computer/database to store the documents. Why can't you people have list of documents to ask for.? Why every time you need to ask new documents again and again and from past 3 months. Totally RIDICULOUS and UNPROFESSIONAL. Worst communications. I will make sure to voice my opinion in all the reviews and BBB. Don't want to give loan, that is just fine, don't harass people making them wait endlessly.

I opted for Caliber Home Loans because of preferred lender for the home I bought. I had great experience overall doing business with them. Team at Caliber home loans are great and know how important this step for any customer. Even though I had last minute hurdle because of some documentation and closing date got delayed. My Caliber Home Loan Consultant was on top of it to get it resolved and do best for me. She was always supportive and guided as and when needed through out the Loan Origination & Servicing process. I really thanks whole Caliber team for their good work and great customer service.

Marc ** is very professional and he will be my first call on any future loans. He always responded in a timely manner. He explained the loan details and requirements clearly. When we set a document to him he did not lose it, and consequently repeatedly request the same document to be sent again and again (this is a big deal, it's annoying, it happens with the big mortgage banks). The staff is very nice and friendly but the process took longer than I expected. But I must recognize that the loan for the house we wanted to buy was only of 60k and it was not easy to find a bank to loan us that amount. So my wife and I are grateful with Caliber and would recommend it without hesitation.

I am happy with the process but Caliber Homes rep is slow to respond to calls/questions. Sometimes I have to make multiple contact attempts to get a reply. I know they are busy but calls would be appreciated within 24 hour period during a work week. Friday calls on Monday -- I almost feel like I am nagging or begging for a reply.

Caliber bought our mortgage from Beneficial while we were in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy because my husband had lost his job and his unemployment ran out. Once that was done I was behind by two years on my taxes. They sent me a letter about it and I wrote back stating that I would be able to pay 2016 on time, I had already paid 2014 and I would be setting up a payment plan for 2015. I almost had 2016 paid off when our tax collector called me and said that they paid our taxes. So now I have to pay back Caliber.

This is the 4th home I have purchased, the first in Florida. My Loan Originator Bret **, was phenomenal!! Donna **, my loan processor was also absolutely on the ball and so kind! I truly had a dream team, if I ever buy more homes, there is no question, I will be coming right back to Caliber Home Loans. I will also be recommending them to every person I know! My husband and I worked with Joe ** through Caliber Home Loans to buy our first house. Joe was wonderful! He was always a phone call away to answer questions and thoroughly explained the whole process to us. He was flexible with our limitations (my husband was starting a new job after we were expected to close on the house) and he was able to work with us around this. I have been extremely disappointed with Caliber since my mortgage was transferred from Dovenmuehle. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get my escrow account squared away with the insurance payments I originally set up with Dovenmuehle. After believing everything was settled, I was later informed that my earthquake insurance was not considered "mandatory" and therefore would not be paid out from the escrow account with Caliber, like it had been with Dovenmuehle. I live in California, so earthquake insurance is very necessary.

Shawna, in my city: A high energy, very efficient, warm, professional who moves mountains and makes them look like anthills! She was able to connect all the dots between sellers who didn't want to do repairs needed for an FHA loan and also didn't both come to the closing, to 2 realtors (showing and listing), and an FHA inspector who got the final report in at the very last second, while I was putting pressure on everyone to close, since I was living in a motel for a week already. And she did it with grace!

My husband and I have been with Caliber since 2013. We were able to refinance into a conventional loan. Caliber has excellent customer service and they are very quick to process documents. We were able to wrap up the entire process within a few short weeks. We finished so quickly that we were able to close on the last day of the month preventing us from having to make another mortgage payment. I have been a long-standing Caliber Home Loans Customer, and I recently refinance my 15-year mortgage, which was with Caliber, with a 30 year mortgage. The refinance was excellent and processed smoothly, but after closing on 26 Jun, my bank account was still charged for the July monthly payment on my old loan. When I contacted Caliber, I was simply informed since my previous mortgage was on autopay, it was too late to cancel it for the July payment. I thought that by a refi through the same loan company who held the previous mortgage, and since there would be a zero balance on the old after closing, there would not be a July payment, especially on the old mortgage. In fact the refi is advertised as not having a payment for up to 2 month, and in my case is was zero months. Completely unsatisfactory.

I had a very good experience with Caliber. I have gone through a number of loan approval processes and my experience with Caliber has been the best yet. I found their staff to be professional, and very knowledgeable. They went out of their way to give me advice when I needed it. I must admit, at first I was skeptical because I didn't know anything about Caliber but, I soon learned that they were very good at what they do. I don't think there was ever a moment that I was concerned about the process. I would recommend Caliber to anyone and, I must thank my Real Estate agent for recommending Caliber.

Happy first time home buyers - Kim ** was an excellent resource for us during the process of obtaining financing for our home. She was very clear in her communication and when requesting documents. What can I say about the staff of Caliber Home Loans? First and foremost, I've gone through a handful of lenders while searching for our perfect home! Once I spoke to Bob we automatically had a great connection! He made me feel comfortable and at ease because he knew what he was talking about. He was able to inform me about my options that the other lenders had never mentioned to me or they probably didn't even know about. In 2012, I filed Chapter 13 after my husband got sick and we got behind on payments. In 2013, HSBC sold my mortgage to Caliber Home Loans. Immediately they informed me that any payments I made would go into escrow and not applied to the balance. Then they ignored the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy that I had in place and paid off (actually overpaid by $3000) my RE tax and added it to the balance I already owed. This effectively canned the Chapter 13 because my Trustee continued to make payments on the already paid taxes. I was forced to let it get dismissed so that I could restructure, and Caliber moved to foreclose. When they sent me a Right To Cure, I called them to see if I could modify instead of yet another 13.

It was great working with David ** as our lender. And planning to keep him as our lender for years to come. When my husband and I decided to buy a home. We had no knowledge of how to even get started. And David ** was awesome to tell us what we needed to get started. We went into not knowing anything about purchasing a home to now knowing a lot. And now happily homeowners 2017.

My daughter has a house for sale, and the purchaser is using Caliber Home Loans to finance the property. The contract originally called for a closing date the end of May. Then it was delayed until mid-June, now it is the end of June and no closing in sight. My daughter moved in with me because the house was supposed to close June 20, 2017. The house is empty and ready for the purchasers to move in. The purchasers have all of their belongings in a rental truck, have vacated their prior home, and now are also in limbo, paying for the truck and unexpected living expenses. The loan was approved, had an approval to close, but Caliber required a 2nd review to close, it has not happened.

I refi'd my home just under a year ago with documents indicating I would pay approx $300 less per month. I had to fight Caliber to pay my city/Town taxes in April/May 2017 as they hadn't been paid since I refi'd. I then had to go through the same hoops for my Insurance payment as it was about to be cancelled. Both were finally paid. Thanks mostly to the deed company (taxes) and Insurance Company (USAA) working with Caliber.

For the last three months, my bank confirms sending timely payments. Caliber does not record those payment as received on time. In the most recent month, a payment was sent on June 1st and they recorded it as being received on June 21 resulting in late payment penalty.

I would highly recommend Jimmy and his team from Caliber. When we started the process Jimmy spent at least a half hour chatting with me about our goals for a home and explaining our options for loans. I told him responsiveness was key for me and his team delivered 100%. I was sent notification letters requesting that I sign papers I'd already signed, a month late. And I was never notified of the closing, the new account numbers or any information about setting up the new loan account.

Since doing business with Caliber starting a year ago, it has been a nightmare. They messed up submitting the first payment check and instead of waiting for me to get it straightened out, they kept on debiting my account resulting in late and nonsufficient fund charges and going to a collection firm. Numerous calls and letters followed and suggestion to seek guidance from HUD, who suggested filing formal complaint against caliber.

Loved working with Caliber and would recommend to anyone. Everything was smooth as silk... had no issues at all. Keith was a pleasure to deal with. His colleague Paul was as well. I closed and I actually never thought it would be that calm. I had not bought a house in over 20 years, so calm was very good.

Home loan — They were friendly and very helpful from beginning to the end. Settlement was as easy as signing your name and explanations of all document were answered without a problem. Without a doubt I would recommend them to anyone who is going to buy a house.
