They were able to approve me for a loan. I couldn't believe how fast it all happened. Thanks for being there for me at this time. I had my money the very next day. I really needed it at that time. Definitely will refer you to my friends and family.

I have a brand new card. I activated it and tried to use it at Amazon and it was declined. It is not worth having if every transaction is declined. I wanted to use it as a way to pay for supplies for my hobby and pay it back once I sold the items I built. This card is not for me.

Pissed off customer, I paid the balance on my card with Avant on September 11th 2025, as soon as I paid the remaining balance they hit me with late interest fees. I called and filed complaint, it fell on deaf ears. I will not recommend Avant to any one for any reason, Avant is shady when dealing with their customers. I shredded my card and closed account. Too bad they do not operate like Capital One!!!!

I was charged twice for a purchase which is affecting my available credit, and Avant refuses to remove the pending charge from my account. Also, no 24 hour customer service available and when you do get to speak with one, they are useless!

On Saturday, applied for a $6500 loan and was approved. At the end there was "sign and complete" which was done, only to meet with this error message "The loan is in an uncoverable state, which your browser version." After 3 days and 4 calls to them to resolve this issue, I told them, let me complete the process or cancel the loan because I was not calling back in an hour. They canceled the loan and said that I could apply again anytime. It is now the next day, and the "check loan options" does not even appear on my dashboard. I have never seen an organization try so hard not give money to someone that was already approved.

On August 1, I pay the balance due on my account. The next day when I checked my account, there was $15.99 placed on the account. When I called about it, she inquired that that was interest so I paid that balance and I asked the agent will there be any more charges she apply? "No, your balance is paid in full." The next day, I checked the account there was $4.99 added to the account. When I asked about it, the gentleman said "that was your monthly fee." I respond to him by telling him that the young lady told me there would be no other fees. He started reading off his paper what he had been practicing to read as long as he had been there that I agreed to pay. I was very upset that the young lady lied to me about these fees. False advertisement adding payments to people account is unacceptable.
I immediately tried to talk to a supervisor and she said she was not available. I asked the gentleman to close the account immediately and that I will definitely do a review on them for falsely telling me things that were not true. Even after making the payment of $15.99 within 24 hours, that amount was on my credit report, showing that I needed to pay it within five hours. My account is showing that I owe $20.98, making it difficult to understand what you really owe, even though I paid the full balance on the first.

I started with 1000 credit limit, they randomly lowered it to 700, it’s frustrating as I have worked hard on my credit and getting higher lines of credit. I’m seriously considering canceling my Avant card.

My card was stolen & used in June. I've placed numerous calls to follow up as the charges are still on my account. Customer service told me no report was made, put me through to a supervisor who tells me Customer service can help & puts my call back to them, 10 mins on hold & the call is dropped. Call back to find it has been reported but they have to connect me with the fraud department. I get through & no report! I give in and say I'd like to make a report, "Can I have your card no.?" No, because it was stolen! Put on hold & the call sounds as if it's being answered in someone's house. They can't help me if I don't have the card no. Seriously, I could scream. Been going on for a month. Reported them to the BBB. Stay away from this company; my goldfish could run a company better.

DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CREDIT CARD!! THEY ARE A SCAM!! I made a payment on my card and was told that the payment would post to my account right away since I was using a debit card. I called them back a few hours later to see why the payment has not posted and I was told that it would take 1 to 10 business days for the payment to post which is ridiculous. Why would it take that long for a payment to post. The customer service reps are not on the same page with their information probably because they are outsourced. I plan to cancel this card out and only deal with CC companies that do not outsource their customer service experience. STAY AWAY!!!

I used to hold it balance on the card then I paid it off then went to use the card online and it kept coming up fraud. Called them, they'll fix the card, went to use it again and kept coming up fraud. Called the fraud department, they asked me about a date which was 2 months ago, I forgot about it so they canceled my card, said they will send me a new one. I told them it was not to be canceled but they did it anyway. The product I was going to purchase is no longer in stock. They are a piece of shit. I was on the phone with them four times that day. I would not let anyone I know use my Avant. "Don't use them"

I normally carry a balance but pay just over my min each month. However immediately after paying my balance off, they locked my card for "security" reasons. I called them, and unlocked the card. Next transaction was declined again for "security" reasons so I went through this again. Third time.. Now I'm being told it's because the merchant I was trying to purchase from uses Square as their processor and they don't allow square because I "could" be using it to send money to someone... Obviously I am trying to send $ to someone isn't that the point of making a sale? You give $ in exchange for items... I am done trying to fight them to use this card and honestly the amount of $ they have already legally scammed in interest and monthly/annual fees I'm probably better off taking my business elsewhere.

I got this card in the mail and accepted the terms thinking I could use it to build my credit. I kept the balance low and made more than the minimum payment every month on time. In August of 2024 I discovered a fraudulent charge of 1700.00 on my account. I requested a fraudulent investigation and they sent a new card out to me. In January of 2025 I was informed that there was no fraudulent transaction detected and I would have to pay the debt.
After back and forth discussions Avant raised my interest rate from 21.9% to 35.99%. So the 1700.00 added to the 550.00 that I was carrying has me paying a minimum payment of 91.23 of which 78.00 goes directly to interest. I’ve tried repeatedly to get them to at least reduce the interest rate back to the 21.9% percent I originally had but I get nothing but excuses. What is a person to do? The 1700.00 charge was made in Burbank California. I live in Florida. How can I alleviate this problem other than to stop paying altogether.

TERRIBLE COMPANY!!! DO NOT SIGN UP!!! I ran my credit check, received my card, and within one month of not using the card, the company cancelled my card and closed out my account without any warning. Now my credit has taken a hit from the inquiry, the opening of the new credit line, and closing the account (ALL FOR THE SAME ACCOUNT IN THE SAME MONTH)...This is absolutely ridiculous and I will NEVER do business with this company again.

If I could rate this credit card service below a 1 I would. They are horrible. Was told I would not be charged any time of monthly fees paid my credit card off and guess what I’m being charged that I was unaware of until I kept getting calls from them. That’s right late fees. I called in to customer service requesting a supervisor and still have Never received a call back. Very unprofessional would not recommend this credit card to anyone and will be closing as soon as I get all this mess figured out.

False advertising, terrible support. They make you provide your banking info and ID photos before eventually saying no. Don't offer "debt consolidation" if you aren't willing to and don't don't say no "hard credit checks" followed by exactly that. They might as well be a health insurance company. Claiming one thing and screwing you over in the end.

Unreasonable Service and Disrespectful Treatment – Avoid Avant. I’m a 100% disabled veteran who served in three deployments, and I’ve never been treated with such disregard by a credit card company. Avant refuses to work with me on something as simple as adjusting a due date to line up with my pay schedule. Their customer service is difficult to communicate with, and I was treated rudely and without any understanding or flexibility. On top of that, their interest rates are extremely high – This company is a complete ripoff that preys on customers rather than helping them. I will be closing my account at the end of the month and would strongly advise others to stay far away from Avant.

I have never dealt with a rude & poor customer service rep. I called about a monthly fee they started charging me & it was more less sorry about your luck! How can only certain customers be charged??? I had to wait 20 minutes to speak to a supervisor & still poor service. I wouldn't recommend opening account.

Absolutely abhorrent. False advertising. Rate change after hard pull on my credit. Predatory.... to say the least. Speaking to someone with a thick accent 90% of the time and multiple calls to confirm information that was already supplied. HORRIBLE! HORRRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Rate went from 25% after application was submitted to 36% as though I wouldn't notice. From already high (but in range of high interest credit cards) to INSANELY high... loan shark high... payday loan... high. RUN! RUN FAR AWAY from this sleazy organization.

I never thought of it but they are ruthless. During the covid 19, I was hospitalized for a month. During that time somehow I missed a payment. The first time ever. I paid it immediately when I found out. I don't know what happened. I had written a letter explaining I was in the hospital sick and asked for a goodwill removal of the late payment or report it as delinquent. They said in their response no. They were sorry for my circumstances. No compassion. My payment record was perfect until that horrible day. I tried a few times and even wrote to the CEO. He just sent it back to those horrible representatives.
If you read their statements, you are in good hands with them. They make you feel something horrible for one lousy mistake. But they never talk about their mistakes and got sued for lying to customers. So all customers are not bad especially with a medical situation. They don't want to hear it. Some good hands you are in. So, I thought the Cares Act kind of protected you. So, I am going to my attorney to are if they violated the Cares Act. If so I have a legal right to sue.
I am always surprised when these companies will not budge from their policies. They can if they want to. Nothing is written black and white. Policies are to guide the company but there are days you may have to get around it. Not Avant. Just no empathy for decision making. I am a good customer and a fighter. It's the principle. They act like they can't do it. They can. It's just disappointing when something like this happens all during the pandemic. They should be ashamed of themselves. So, I will try again with my attorney.

This is the worse credit card company I have ever dealt with, In one month I sent six payments. They only honor one and then charged me late fees at the end of the billing period. I only applied for this card to improve my credit score. It had a $2000.00 limit. In Feb I made a payment of 1000.00. They accepted it. After that they kept sending my payments back to my Bank and I don't know why they never said. The last payment I sent them was 1800.00 which was what I owed. I will never use that credit card again. Very bad experience.

Avant credit card, absolutely the worst customer service. I have had several issues with this credit card, such as charging late fees when the bill is paid early and not removing them. Last month I paid my account in full and I even called in to make sure there were no further charges which I was told there were none and would not be any not even interest and 4 days later I was charged interest and they refuse to remove it. Only apologized for their representative telling me the wrong information. This has been every single time I contact them. They put you on hold and before they actually put you on hold they start laughing, I have never dealt with a company that is so unprofessional. If you get a credit card offer from them do yourself a favor and shred it, because it's not worth the hassle.

This should be a last resort. These people are the bottom of the barrel. After talking to them for an hour and a half about a recent hardship and asking if I could just have a payment arrangement for a few weeks late they assured me they would turn off the auto pay. They did not. That snowballed into the following month in which they added a late fee and also an over the limit fee. It just snowballed into a lot of fees, an unfortunate situation had caused me to be late because they took the auto pay out that snowballed into the following month if that makes sense, causing all of those extra fees which caused a whole lot of other problems on the backend with other bills I had. I closed my account immediately. These people are the bottom of the barrel. Very unscrupulous.

This credit card has a high annual fee for a low credit limit. I paid $175 for a $300 credit limit. I'm still trying to find a way to cancel it and get my annual fee refunded back to me. I have my card in the states but I'm overseas and I can't use it for googlepay or anything.

Jane took all my payment info aka my bank card number then didn’t pay my account. That was 3.00 and something cents so I want to know where my bank card info went!! No one told me then. My bank card info was taken by another person Diane. She said and Jane didn’t take my payment. Just took all my info! So the next lady Diane took all my bank info again!! So what happened to my info that Jane took???? Did Jane steal my bank card info then didn’t pay the payment!!! No one told me. I pd my card off before the date in Jan. Now in Feb and the lady couldn’t tell me what my balance was. How can I get interest on nothing on my card!?!? lol🤣😂

This card is unreliable. I have a high credit limit, but every other time I try to use it, I get declined. No past due balance. I can’t depend on it for example, in a roadside emergency. Paying it off, then I’m done.

I paid off this card on September 28, 2024, I followed by paying off the $15.38 service fee on October 17, 2024. Thus making my balance $0. I have not used it since due to their increasing the interest rate to 35%. On 1/11/25 I checked my app dashboard and saw there was a balance of $26.98. On 1/12/25 I called about this charge and when I asked for a supervisor, I was given the runaround and then told a supervisor would call me back by the end of the day. No one called. I locked the card. On 1/13/25 I called again and was again told supervisor wasn't available. I said I do not want a call back, we tried this yesterday, I'll hold. The supv finally answered 25 minutes later and said she could not see any charges either and will turn this into the complaints department and someone would get back to me.
I closed this account due to the terrible customer service I have received every time I've called since I got the card and I no longer trust this company. No one ever called. On 1/14/25 I checked the dashboard before I called again, balance was still there and transactions were there. They were charges from California and Hong Kong. I did not make these. So I called again and 45 minutes later got supervisor Casita who transferred me to card services after encouraging me to pay the fraudulent balance. Card services stated they couldn't help me because the account was closed, encouraged me to pay the balance and transferred me back to customer service.
Next I got Jenny the supervisor who stated I had to wait 10 business day to get a confirmation of the complaint being filed. I said meanwhile that balance is going to rack up charges that you will place on my credit. She also encouraged me to pay the fraudulent balance. So I told her No thanks, I will just file a complaint with CFPB, have a good day.

I have been with Avant Corporation for close to five years and have always made my payments on time. However, my debit card and bank account were compromised by fraud. My bank investigated and found that my account had indeed been compromised. The bank issued me a new debit card and put a fraud monitor on my account. Avant has always sent me payment confirmations to my email when my payment was made and posted in the past by e-mail. I was notified on December 26, 2024, that my account was delinquent to my surprise.
I immediately called AVANT to correct and explain the situation with my bank account to let them know I was unaware payment had not been made. By this time my credit score took a nosedive at – 70 points. When I called Avant and spoke to a customer representative and explained my situation to see if, by goodwill, they would lift this discrepancy from my credit report due to a banking error they told me they would conduct an investigation and notify me in 14 days. It's been well over 14 days for them to contact me even though I have contacted them multiple times very unprofessional.
At this point, I am going to pay off this credit card and freeze it in water in my freezer. I am not going to close the account which will hurt my credit even worse but will not use it again. And I highly recommend to any consumer not to use this credit card if you want your credit ruined. When I first got my Avant credit card, they were very responsive in sending me emails and correspondence about my account status it seems as though the customer service has dropped off dramatically when dealing with the customer. When I found out my account was delinquent from Credit Karma, I immediately made my account current. In the meantime, I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for resolution.

Was approved for a credit card but never received the card. I called and they offered to close the account but they still charged me for the initial fee of $75 plus interest. I told the customer service person that I wasn’t going to pay for something that I never had and she hung up on me.

Customer services do not speak English well, and they wanted my whole SS number repeated over the phone after he said he already had it, why? The whole time I could hear a tv in the background not in English, beeps and crashes, totally unprofessional. If this company wants better clients they should act like professionals because everything your representative did and say was not a good representation that I would want to project if this was mine.

Avant is an absolutely horrible option. Once when my payment was due on a Monday, which was a holiday they took it it out on that Friday. Even though their policy is to take it the following day after the holiday. Recently, I requested for my payment to be moved a week so I wouldn’t have overdraft fees. They moved it to the 25th, but took it out on the 22nd. When you write in and complain they replied they would look into it. They sent me back their policy (written) but they have a different policy that they go by. This is from their own representatives on the phone. Very shady company.
