Unreasonable Service and Disrespectful Treatment – Avoid Avant. I’m a 100% disabled veteran who served in three deployments, and I’ve never been treated with such disregard by a credit card company. Avant refuses to work with me on something as simple as adjusting a due date to line up with my pay schedule. Their customer service is difficult to communicate with, and I was treated rudely and without any understanding or flexibility. On top of that, their interest rates are extremely high – This company is a complete ripoff that preys on customers rather than helping them. I will be closing my account at the end of the month and would strongly advise others to stay far away from Avant.

I never thought of it but they are ruthless. During the covid 19, I was hospitalized for a month. During that time somehow I missed a payment. The first time ever. I paid it immediately when I found out. I don't know what happened. I had written a letter explaining I was in the hospital sick and asked for a goodwill removal of the late payment or report it as delinquent. They said in their response no. They were sorry for my circumstances. No compassion. My payment record was perfect until that horrible day. I tried a few times and even wrote to the CEO. He just sent it back to those horrible representatives.

If you read their statements, you are in good hands with them. They make you feel something horrible for one lousy mistake. But they never talk about their mistakes and got sued for lying to customers. So all customers are not bad especially with a medical situation. They don't want to hear it. Some good hands you are in. So, I thought the Cares Act kind of protected you. So, I am going to my attorney to are if they violated the Cares Act. If so I have a legal right to sue.

I am always surprised when these companies will not budge from their policies. They can if they want to. Nothing is written black and white. Policies are to guide the company but there are days you may have to get around it. Not Avant. Just no empathy for decision making. I am a good customer and a fighter. It's the principle. They act like they can't do it. They can. It's just disappointing when something like this happens all during the pandemic. They should be ashamed of themselves. So, I will try again with my attorney.

This is the worse credit card company I have ever dealt with, In one month I sent six payments. They only honor one and then charged me late fees at the end of the billing period. I only applied for this card to improve my credit score. It had a $2000.00 limit. In Feb I made a payment of 1000.00. They accepted it. After that they kept sending my payments back to my Bank and I don't know why they never said. The last payment I sent them was 1800.00 which was what I owed. I will never use that credit card again. Very bad experience.

Avant credit card, absolutely the worst customer service. I have had several issues with this credit card, such as charging late fees when the bill is paid early and not removing them. Last month I paid my account in full and I even called in to make sure there were no further charges which I was told there were none and would not be any not even interest and 4 days later I was charged interest and they refuse to remove it. Only apologized for their representative telling me the wrong information. This has been every single time I contact them. They put you on hold and before they actually put you on hold they start laughing, I have never dealt with a company that is so unprofessional. If you get a credit card offer from them do yourself a favor and shred it, because it's not worth the hassle.

This should be a last resort. These people are the bottom of the barrel. After talking to them for an hour and a half about a recent hardship and asking if I could just have a payment arrangement for a few weeks late they assured me they would turn off the auto pay. They did not. That snowballed into the following month in which they added a late fee and also an over the limit fee. It just snowballed into a lot of fees, an unfortunate situation had caused me to be late because they took the auto pay out that snowballed into the following month if that makes sense, causing all of those extra fees which caused a whole lot of other problems on the backend with other bills I had. I closed my account immediately. These people are the bottom of the barrel. Very unscrupulous.

I paid off this card on September 28, 2024, I followed by paying off the $15.38 service fee on October 17, 2024. Thus making my balance $0. I have not used it since due to their increasing the interest rate to 35%. On 1/11/25 I checked my app dashboard and saw there was a balance of $26.98. On 1/12/25 I called about this charge and when I asked for a supervisor, I was given the runaround and then told a supervisor would call me back by the end of the day. No one called. I locked the card. On 1/13/25 I called again and was again told supervisor wasn't available. I said I do not want a call back, we tried this yesterday, I'll hold. The supv finally answered 25 minutes later and said she could not see any charges either and will turn this into the complaints department and someone would get back to me.

I closed this account due to the terrible customer service I have received every time I've called since I got the card and I no longer trust this company. No one ever called. On 1/14/25 I checked the dashboard before I called again, balance was still there and transactions were there. They were charges from California and Hong Kong. I did not make these. So I called again and 45 minutes later got supervisor Casita who transferred me to card services after encouraging me to pay the fraudulent balance. Card services stated they couldn't help me because the account was closed, encouraged me to pay the balance and transferred me back to customer service.

Next I got Jenny the supervisor who stated I had to wait 10 business day to get a confirmation of the complaint being filed. I said meanwhile that balance is going to rack up charges that you will place on my credit. She also encouraged me to pay the fraudulent balance. So I told her No thanks, I will just file a complaint with CFPB, have a good day.

I have been with Avant Corporation for close to five years and have always made my payments on time. However, my debit card and bank account were compromised by fraud. My bank investigated and found that my account had indeed been compromised. The bank issued me a new debit card and put a fraud monitor on my account. Avant has always sent me payment confirmations to my email when my payment was made and posted in the past by e-mail. I was notified on December 26, 2024, that my account was delinquent to my surprise.

I immediately called AVANT to correct and explain the situation with my bank account to let them know I was unaware payment had not been made. By this time my credit score took a nosedive at – 70 points. When I called Avant and spoke to a customer representative and explained my situation to see if, by goodwill, they would lift this discrepancy from my credit report due to a banking error they told me they would conduct an investigation and notify me in 14 days. It's been well over 14 days for them to contact me even though I have contacted them multiple times very unprofessional.

At this point, I am going to pay off this credit card and freeze it in water in my freezer. I am not going to close the account which will hurt my credit even worse but will not use it again. And I highly recommend to any consumer not to use this credit card if you want your credit ruined. When I first got my Avant credit card, they were very responsive in sending me emails and correspondence about my account status it seems as though the customer service has dropped off dramatically when dealing with the customer. When I found out my account was delinquent from Credit Karma, I immediately made my account current. In the meantime, I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for resolution.

My credit when I signed up for this card was in the fair range. Granted I have done plenty of work on it since and never used this card for many purchases. I was given a $700 credit limit which I never came close to exceeding. I have excellent payment history and have 0 missed payments on any lines of credit. I was initially ok with the exorbitant annual fee and high interest rate 'cause that's the norm these days for a fair credit score. But recently was hit with an additional $9 monthly service charge on top of the $100 annual. I the application has no push notification alert option so I didn't even know that I had a payment because I haven't used the card in 6 months, so not only was there a surprise monthly fee I now had a late fee (which they did email me about).

The CS line when setting this card up was atrocious. It took 3 attempts and 2 months to get the card issued to the correct address due to an error in their data entry during set up, but Avant isn't even the servicer in charge of card issuing so it was a nightmare getting that handled. I'm not generally one to leave detailed reviews but I think everyone should know that this company is a total scam. There are better CC companies to do business with than this one. And Experian, you should be ashamed of yourself for offering this card to people.

As shows in the picture every time I had to cancel it and just pay the minimum or whatever amount you’re comfortable to pay as long as covers the min payment but this time they charged me the last statement balance, so I called them and asked to refund it but I was told I had to wait till it is posted then call us for the refund.

So I did that yesterday and was told there’s nothing else she could do and refused to connect me with the manager. You see every time I called the people on the line with a very heavy accent and poor English answer the phone. Reviewed July 19, 2024

Everything started when I was desperately looking for a loan for an emergency when every single lenders refused to offer me a loan. Lo and behold a loan officer from Avant personal loan sent me a contract for $5000 at 7% APR for 36 months. Sounds like a good deal which I accepted. The real hidden danger comes from their application which requires you to put down your personal bank login details for "So that reason we need your online mobile banking user id and password because when we deposit your loan amount into your bank account at that time we take a picture of the transaction and keep a “Digital Records” on your name. If you trying to run with loan amount or if you skip any installment so that time this “Digital Records” will help us to take a Legal Action against on you, you’re “Bank Account” and your “Social Security Number”. Because at that time we can proof yourself that we deposit your “Loan Amount” on this specific Date, Day and Time."

Although skeptical at first and talking with them, they assured me that they will only use it to verify my account and also send in a check for an amount between $300-$1000 for their so called verification process with the company money to make sure that your account is not a fake account or that you'll run away with the loan once deposited. Once that's done make sure you change your username and password to your online banking as they also advised as well. The real danger comes when you have to send the money back by either Apple gift cards or Cash App transfer. They say once the transaction department gets the information they would work on sending out your loan amount to the bank account.

Little did I realize that the checks they login to my online bank account was very likely a fake check to which later caused a lot of problems with my bank that ultimately led to my account closure and ending my banking relationship sadly. Now by this point, you'd think I'd get my loan already, but nope. The transfer failed and they closed my case thinking I've received my loan amount.

By this point, I've already lost about $600 because the deposited "fake" checks were sent to both my checking and savings account and that they won't proceed without the full amount being paid back within a 24 hour window or else you'll have to do it again due to the transaction department timing. Because of work timing, that's difficult to do and sadly this resulted in an accumulated lost of $600 to which the loan officer said they will include that money back into the account with the loan transfer as they say "its your money that we are sending back." Later, the transfer failed and their payment gets returned.

After discovering it, I called them to clarify what happened. Apparently their ACH transfer failed, so now according to their transaction department, there's a $1200 transaction fee to which they will try to send that amount to you then you have to transfer back to them through a 3rd party banking transfer or Apple gift cards. So I successfully got a Zelle transfer of $1000, not the full amount due to the other party's transfer limit.

When they tried to send the remaining $200, it somehow failed and told me that I need to come up with the remaining amount so that they can send the loan amount with any additional money you put in. Keep in mind that this is a 20% transfer fee that the company is supposed to pay which is insane why I have to go through this multiple transfer craze just to get a simple loan. Also, they don't accept anything less than a $100 Apple gift card and I unknowingly due to store limitation got $50 cards amounting to $200. That didn't go well and now I have to get a card of $200. Even after repeated inquiries and assurance, I never got my money back or the loan. Once again, expressing my frustrations why they won't just direct deposit this, and so it's their company policy and transaction department that I need to pay the fees so that they can send my money and the loan back while not budging despite my precarious financial situation.

After so many rounds of failures and calling for clarifications, then they tell me I need to send another $400 for the transaction fee which by this point, all my banking relationships are in dead water due to this stunt. And they say once they have received the $400 that they will direct deposit the amount into my 3rd party banking app which thankfully still kept my account open while everyone else closed their doors on me. They say that they are just a click away from direct depositing the money into my Cash app account, but won't do it until I send the $400 which they will add back into my account. In the end no money means no saving grace for you. This whole situation left me devastated financially, emotionally, and mentally. Never trust this loan company otherwise you could be in this situation worst than you thought

This has happened several times for me including Discover card sending them a payoff balance transfer. They do this despite several calls. BEWARE!

I jumped through every hoop this company had. They did a hard inquiry on my credit, had the correct credit score and they still denied me. They kept wanting more and more information. It was very frustrating. Avoid, don't waste your time. Try anywhere else.

I can only support the other complaints here. I was referred through Credit Karma and, unfortunately I didn't check reviews first, I trusted Credit Karma. I've since submitted a complaint with this page address attached to Credit Karma. I haven't even gotten through the loan process and Avant has pulled all kinds of shady stuff.

-Like others have said, before the application is even done, they will hit your credit.
-They get all kinds of in depth information before they have any idea if they will approve, such as connect to your bank through Plaid, etc.
-Then they start the delay tactics that begin with giving a message that login fails.

-I called about this and was hung up on 2x, then on the third call was told to wait an hour and try again. This is absolutely unacceptable for a financial institution.

I will stop the process and send all this information to federal reporting agencies, as well as my bank. I recorded the last call and suggest anyone record any interactions with this very shady, deceitful company.

Poor Service and could not understand the rep as her English was poor. and Credit Damage: Avoid Avant. I recently had a terrible experience with Avant, and I feel compelled to share my story as a cautionary tale. I'm using a lot of info from another review as mine was similar As an Credit Karma member, I was enticed by Avant's claim of an "outstanding" approval rate. However, my experience turned out to be nothing short of a nightmare. Big nightmare.

First and foremost, Avant falsely assured me that a credit inquiry would not impact my credit score nor show up on my credit report. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a blatant lie. My credit score took a hit even before I completed the application process, which was disheartening and completely contrary to their claims. The entire application process was riddled with issues.

Dealing with Avant's customer service was an awful and stressful experience. There was a significant language barrier, making effective communication nearly impossible. I found myself spending mega hours on the phone, constantly uploading documents, only to be met with confusion and repeated requests for the same information. It was an exercise in frustration, and I was turned down after being told what bank account did I want it in? Avant is a very deceptive company to deal with. Lenmark approved me in hours and provided the funds in 3 total hours. Avant asked for my log ons and passwords for my 2 bank accounts. I've reported this to the police and plan on reporting it to the government. Trust me don't believe anything from Avant.

Title: False Promises, Poor Service, and Credit Damage: Avoid Avant. I recently had a terrible experience with Avant, and I feel compelled to share my story as a cautionary tale. As an Credit Karma member, I was enticed by Avant's claim of an "outstanding" approval rate. However, my experience turned out to be nothing short of a nightmare.

I found myself spending days on the phone, constantly uploading documents, only to be met with confusion and repeated requests for the same information. It was an exercise in frustration, and I eventually had to abandon my application altogether.

To add insult to injury, Avant wasted my time by falsely boosting my hopes of approval, only to dash them in the end. They informed me that my chances were exceptional, but after going through the tedious process, they informed me that I did not qualify. This misleading behavior resulted in a loss of points on my credit score for merely attempting to secure a loan.

Moreover, the company's lack of transparency is deeply concerning. Avant appeared to collect a significant amount of personal information from me, including details about multiple bank accounts and two months' worth of pay stubs for both myself and my spouse. However, despite the extensive data they gathered, they failed to approve the loan and instead asked me to reapply after 30 days. This raises suspicions about their true motives and leaves customers feeling like their personal information is being exploited.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against using Avant. Their false promises, inadequate service, and credit-damaging practices are inexcusable. It's evident that they prioritize their own interests over the well-being of their customers. I am personally monitoring my credit and bank account information closely, as I'm uncertain about the true intentions behind Avant's excessive data collection. Save yourself the stress and potential harm, and seek out alternative lenders with more transparent and customer-friendly practices.

They say 24 hours to get a decision, and I’m at 72 hours with no decision as of yet. Called in 2 times, and on the second call, I asked to speak with a supervisor. One was not available. Beginning to feel like a scam to get bank information. I used the Credit Karma app to apply, since they suggested Avant, so if this goes awry, I will lose faith in both of these companies.

I applied for a loan and was preapproved and then denied. The whole loan process was less than what I expected. I regret ever filling out the application because it me very dissatisfied with the whole loan process and way below my expectations of a reputable company. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to get a personal loan.

Other credit card companies have an automated phone payment option where you can call 24/7 to make a payment and never be late. Other companies also answer their telephones when they claim they are there. They also have websites you can log into without trouble. Avant LLC does not. There are only two ways to pay, online or over the telephone to speak with a live person. If they do not answer their phones AND their website doesn't work, oh well, too bad. They charge you a late fee, like they did for my family.

So, the following month, since they have a habit of not picking up their phones and their website doesn't work well, I tried sending out a check, only to find out that they had moved and failed to inform people! They tried telling me I made a mistake, as if I cannot read and write well, which didn't go over very well. I then shared proof that what I said was true.

Instead of using that proof so I could get the late fee reversed, the supervisor, Demario Grant, instead did not tell me that he could do only one late fee reversal request. No, he did not. The call was being recorded, so I have proof. I thought we were processing December's late fee. Instead, he processed January's late fee with December's reason, that they did not answer their phones before Christmas. I cannot prove he did this on purpose, but either way, now I am forced to pay late fees I did not deserve paying.

You might save in other areas with this company, but they limit their pay options on purpose so if the payment fails for reasons beyond your control, they will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.... ever!... forgive the late fee. You can be in a coma for ten months, and they would blame that on you and insist you pay all the late fees.

So, I have had late fees levied on me that should not have been, and I'm being forced to pay them even though it was not my fault. It was theirs. They lag behind ALL of their competitors because they do not have the options that other companies afford you. In the end, don't expect to save a great deal of money with this company. They are worse than everyone else.

I received e-mail from Avant/webank saying I owed them yearly dues amount on credit card I knew nothing about, I never got a card and did not sign up for any card or credit of any kind. They want me to fill out a lot of fraud paperwork, all for some yearly fee & if not paid it goes to collections & a credit score hit for something I never ask for.
