I was looking for somebody who was gonna solve my tax problems. I went with Anthem and they've been great. They made the deal that I wanted with the IRS and everything's done. It took nine months because of COVID. The monthly payment was fine.

I was laid off and I had to go into my 401(k), so we had a big tax bill that we couldn't pay. The first person I talked to was the sales guy, Greg. During our first conversation, he said they could help me. He asked for some initial information and we've never done it before, so we didn't know if that was a comprehensive list of what he should be asking. We said, “Great. We'll send it with the service.” At the time, money was extremely tight, so he worked out a payment plan. He said, “Once we get the final payment, we'll start it.” They got the final payment on the first part of October, but we didn't hear anything. When we finally heard from someone, it was November or December and we got back to that person with information then we didn't hear anything.
We finally reached back out to Greg because we didn't have the name of anybody else. He said, “Oh, that person is no longer with the company. Let me get somebody else to contact you.” Shortly after that, we got a notice from the IRS that they were putting a lien on our property because they hadn't been contacted. I reached out again. I said, “Hey, this is getting serious. We need some help.” He added somebody to the email and said, “This person is going to be contacting you.” He didn’t contact us. It took me badgering them to get them. I finally made contact and got through some initial information. They said, “Hey. Well, you never did sign this document,” and I said, “Because it wasn't right. The first person who sent it to us left the company and it wasn’t correct. It was never corrected."
Alicia said, “I’m so sorry.” She was good about working with us and getting that documentation corrected. Somewhere along the way, COVID hit and it seemed like all sense of urgency was gone. They said, “Well, everything's on hold,” and I said, “You don’t understand. We’ve been dealing with this. This is frustrating. We paid you to do this, so get it done. I don’t care about COVID.” She worked with us and once she got everything documented, there was so much information that the sales guy had not asked us. I don't know if it was his job to or not, but we got it all done.
When Brie contacted us and we had a conversation with her, she started asking us about our 401(k). She explained, “Well, because these are 401(k), they're not going to reduce this amount you owe.” We were like, “You gotta be kidding me. That's what got us into this. Because we had to take money out of our 401(k).” Brie said, “No, that's how it is.” If the sales guy had told us that from day one, we would have just gone straight the IRS ourselves, worked out a payment plan and saved a whole lot of money. Everything we read about, apparently, we can do that on our own. Instead, we sent money. It was very frustrating and we kept getting emails saying, “Would you like to do a survey?” I’m like, “I don’t know if they really want us to.”
Before they take your money, they need to make things clear what's included if you have this much money and assets. I was just doing stuff. Our kids are getting ready for college. What's in our bank account is for financial aid, but all they want to know, "What's in your bank account?" They're like, “Exclude your cars, exclude your 401(k), exclude your house.” That would have been very helpful.

Anthem Tax Services got me out of a lot of trouble and arranged an agreement with the federal government to a point where I don't have to worry about it. I talked to Ben and he assured me that he would get our money back from the government which he did. He got a big chunk back that we really needed. He also guaranteed that we would be able to resolve the issue with them. It took a little time to do it but we were able to. I felt like he was on our side and that was really why I went with him. I was talking with another company and I didn't like the way they were handling it.
It's not something you kind of hire somebody and go stick to your chair and forget about it. It's something you got to watch, stay on top of, learn what they're doing and know what's happening. There was a huge mistake that didn't cost us anything but it took time to clear it up. If I were paying attention to the documents that they were sending, I would've noticed it. In the end, they came through with everything I wanted. I was perfectly happy with Anthem. There were days that I was out of my skin screaming and they calmed me down. They worked with me and took every phone call I've ever made.

Thank you for the great review, Edward! The team at Anthem is thrilled you're happy with your experience.

When I was reviewing the reviews, there were more positive reviews on Anthem so I choose them. It was awesome with their customer service. They took care of everything. All the follow-ups and communications were great. However, they change the case managers frequently. When I called them, they said, “I'm not doing this case." That's happened 3 times. That’s one thing that should have been handled better.

Thank you for sharing your story with us and the community. We are happy to hear you had a wonderful outcome, but we do apologize for the initial confusion. Anthem was able to give me something that I could pay monthly to pay my back taxes down. The people were wonderful when they called. But getting ahold of them and getting them to call me back took forever. I wanted a status and at one point, the guy said to me, "The IRS hasn't done it yet." I said, "They sent me a letter," then he got me to a specialist. She called and within two days, it was done.

We went online, trying to find somebody to help us out with our taxes. We liked Anthem's track record. We read a bunch of reviews on the Better Business Bureau. Talking with them and listening to their reviews on how they helped people, they thought of them as a person and not just a number. We used them to offer compromise settlement with the IRS. They stayed in contact with me through my whole thing. I've completed the program and it helped out a whole lot. We were struggling real bad. We had a lot of tax debts because of the situation I had, crushing my leg and being out of work for three years.
COVID slowed the process down because the government was shut down but Anthem handled all my paperwork. I got all my documents to them. They were real professional. They always called and talked to me about receiving letters from the IRS and all my information. I'd recommend them to anybody because with the debt we had and how well we came out in the end was amazing. They felt our pain. They knew what we were going through in struggling with how we accumulated our debt by an accident and work slowing down.

The reps were good. When things were due, they called me. It was a couple of different people, but they always kept in touch. Between the emails and phone calls, I was appreciative of that. I owed the IRS money, so I started doing research and looking at reviews. Anthem had one of the better reviews out there. They got my case resolved in than a year, which is good. It took forever to give me my paperwork for the first time, and last time when it finally got resolved, but I don't think that was them. The COVID had something to do with it, but they kept up on everything and kept asking me if I got any paper from the IRS. They did a good job. I’m happy with the progress and what happened.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you, Michael!

Where do I start? I first contacted Anthem in December 2019. I was told all sorts of things to begin with and to get me to sign up. Once I signed up I went months without hearing from anyone. Finally, I get ahold of someone and they pair me with a case worker of sorts and a tax attorney. Once I spoke to the tax attorney I was told the exact opposite of what I was told to get me to sign up. They can’t talk to the IRS to hold off on collections while we work something out, they can’t stop the IRS from levying any accounts, they won’t help with giving us advice on future tax years to make sure we are running and filing our small business correctly- all of which I was told by my first point of contact - he actually said to hurry and get the ball rolling so he could stop the collection efforts while they sort out what kind of deal we can pursue. LIES.
Literally the classic bait and switch. I’m appalled that this company would treat people this way. No one has done anything on our file AT ALL. My tax attorney specifically asked me to send her any IRS letters we receive. I did that and 2 weeks later I finally get a Response - she can’t do anything until after we reevaluate the 2020 tax year. Every time we’re told one thing it immediately becomes another and the employees are constantly passing the blame. I’m completely done with this tax service. I’ve been lied to enough. I want a refund and I will take my business to a company that is transparent, communicative and has morals.

I started researching on the internet and I found some information about Anthem. I called them and the people that helped me out were really nice. They said that I don't need to spend that much money in the beginning. I'd start out with something simple for $500 and they'd go in and research and see where I would be at. That was what I was looking for, somebody to break it down for me and tell me what I needed to do. That felt very personable and there was no rush.
They were trying to help me. They were upfront and honest with me. They weren't trying to get all my money. They said that we could start and go in and contact the IRS for me to do some research and find out where I truly stand. This was in the middle of COVID so the IRS was virtually impossible to get ahold of. I spent hours on the phone on hold to never get through to them. Anthem kept me informed and said that with the COVID thing, it could take us a while.
Anytime I emailed them, I got a fairly quick response back. They told me my standing and that there's no need for me to spend any more money. I owe $88 and as soon as I pay for that, I'll be good. I was under the impression I owed in the $40,000 or so. You hear on the commercials, and they use scare tactics, but with what I thought I owed, I was nervous when I went to the mailbox because I was afraid the IRS was gonna send me something saying they were going to levy my pay or garnish my wages, and it took a huge weight off of me.

I had a great experience with Anthem. They helped me get caught up on my taxes and set up a payment plan. They were available to speak with me by phone if I had any questions through every step of the process, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated that I had direct contact with the CPAs. The guy who did my taxes was great. He told me all the paperwork I needed to gather. He would then send me the link with all the paperwork that I needed to print and sign and then send to the IRS.
There was one part of the process that was a little misleading. In the beginning, I had to pay the upfront costs to get caught up for all the taxes that I was behind on. The next step was that Anthem negotiates with the IRS to see what plans I would qualify for. I was under the impression when I paid the first amount to them that it was going to cover me throughout the entire process. That was not the case. The cost ended up being double of what I had originally anticipated. I had to take out a 401(k) loan for that first installment that was due for them in order to even get started on my case.
So, it was a few months after that I'd gotten everything submitted that Anthem told me the next step. I would have to pay another $1500 to get the rest of the stuff done. They could have been a bit more forthcoming in saying there would be additional costs eventually. That kind of money can be hard to come up with. If I couldn’t pay it, then I'd be right back where I was. My taxes would have been filed but the piece that I needed help with would not have been taken care of.

We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. Thank you, Rebecca!

Anthem's program took more than what I thought it was gonna take. But I know it was a process. At the beginning, it was just getting all my information. In the last five months, they were with me and explaining step-by-step. Every time I had a concern, they walked me through it to help me understand the program I was in and how I was going to get the result I was looking for. Every time they ask me for my personal information or fax any paperwork, they took steps that they needed to take in order to help me feel comfortable with what they were doing. I was very confused with some of the steps and the terminology that I didn't understand.
When I first started going through the process, there was a government shutdown and that interfered. And then, there was COVID this year. It would have been nice for Anthem to reach out if things happen and say what they were not able to do. But, I was having to reach out to them and I wasn't getting the responses I needed. Once we got all that cleared up, the emails were constant and the communication got better. I am still waiting to see how much of the reduction there's going to be on what I owe. Until then, I will feel that there was some progress made on my behalf. I was very pleased with Anthem's services.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Mary. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us!

Anthem had a payment plan and that's what interested me. I didn't have to come up with a lump sum of money to get their services. The program was excellent. They got started right away. I called and talked to the financial people and they were telling me the option with the payment plan. Once we agreed upon something and I had to sign the papers in, they assigned a caseworker. I dealt with Catherine and she told me what she needed. I dealt with her the whole process over the several months.
Anthem is a great deal. I was kind of skeptical as I wasn't sure 'cause I haven't been in this situation before. But they know what they're doing. They were honest with what my options were and what could happen. I didn't have to ask stuff. They would call me from time to time or email, checking and letting me know. Everybody's really nice too. I'm extremely satisfied. There were no roadblocks and it played out just like they said it would.

It took Anthem four years to pay my taxes. They didn’t do much help. All they did was make an arrangement with the IRS for the payment but I called them myself. Every time there's a new tax to file, they're asking me if I need to include the tax that year and that year and the following year, and I have to add some money every time I said, “Yes, I wanna add it.” That’s the thing that I didn’t like. I still have to make my letter of abatement so they will remove the abatement tax on my tax. I had been asking them to help me out with the letter abut they haven't replied to me yet. Sometimes they're late to respond. I still don’t know if the letter of abatement is gonna be a successful one. But if that’s successful, then they should be able to help me out with about maybe $12,000 savings. I paid them over $3,000 for my fees.

The other company that I had took care of my federal problems. It seemed quick and I paid them. It was supposed to be for a set price and I paid it all, but they hounded me every month for more money until I finally kicked them to the curb and got Anthem. Anthem is okay. The other company lied to me all the time but these guys have not really lied to me at all. When I push, they take care of business. I like my attorney, Minji. She got me an extension where they can't bother me for six months. But I wanted it over because I'm 70 years old. Come January, I'm going to have her do that. I told her, "Let's let it go for a few months till after the holidays. I want you to go in there and try to get it squashed." Anthem talked to me and gave me all the stuff that they deal with. I just decided to go with them. The enrollment process was pretty simple. Just fill out some forms, they send them over to you, send them back via email or fax. The representative was pleasant. When I left messages, she called back immediately. There was some miscommunication at first, like notification about different things that were happening. They didn't notify me enough. But during the pandemic, a lot of stuff was shut down, so they couldn't get in touch with anybody with the IRS. But they straightened it all out and everything went fine. The program told me a lot about how the IRS works, and Anthem helped me out pretty much. Working with them got me out of a situation that I was owing a lot of money to the IRS. It was a pretty good service.

Anthem's rep charged me a fee to call the IRS to find out what my status was with them. When they did that, other expiring issues that I wasn't aware of were found. My transaction with Anthem took 14 months. They called me once a month and updated me on the 7th of each month. They were Johnny-on-the-spot calling me and I could anticipate their call would be coming in anytime. I paid them to represent me so that the IRS wouldn't be contacting me. That made me feel good that I had a buffer between me and the IRS. Working with Anthem changed my life unknowingly. I didn't realize that the expiring issues I had were there. At the time, I had already run across a phenomenal property and I couldn't purchase it because of IRS issues. Anthem was able to help me so I could purchase it. They shoot straight with customers.

I was a little skeptical about using a tax service thinking was was just some kind of scam and maybe some one that takes your money and you never hear from again. On the contrary... They were courteous and friendly and wanted to help. They worked with the finance for me, Anytime time there were any changes they let me know. My file went through 3 different people (you can't expect 1 person to do it all ) and it seemed like forever but it was only 2 months. In the end they called to tell me my debt with the IRS was wiped clean, I had no more debt after 10 yrs, with interest I owed a little over $100,000. The reviews for Anthem were a little bit better than some of the other ones. Plus, they're on a commercial a lot so I figured if they weren't good, they would be kicked off the commercials by now. I went with them but it's kinda hard to get answers on things from them sometimes. We have never finished with them yet. Nobody's called and told me where we're at with it. The whole COVID thing happened and it's kinda messed a lot of things up. They're working from home so it's probably a little bit harder but the communication's a little slow. It's the worst thing. They need to keep their customers informed a little bit more.
It might've been November when I started this but I don't even know what the result's gonna end up being. I don't know what the results are on a lot of things. I had to keep calling back to ask them. They'd call and say they needed something, and I'd send it to them. Then they'd call back a week or two later saying they haven't got it. I had proof I sent it and I send it again. I received a letter from the IRS through all this. I had to keep calling in and ask them what would I do with it. They told me to send it to them so I did. They said it was just a scare letter.
They did my 2019 taxes for me during this process. I had to keep calling back and asking them, "Have y'all filed them yet?" "No, we're gonna do them next week." I call back, "No, we're gonna do them next week." That was a long drawn-out procedure. I was trying to update my tax information on it so I can get a direct deposit and nobody could ever let me know if they'd sent them yet or if they've been filed yet. They finally got it done and I got my check later but nobody was letting me know when they were gonna get it sent in and when they got it sent it.

Catherine, my attorney from Anthem Tax Services, was great. I was trying to get a garnishment by the State of Oregon lowered through them. However, their caseworkers were more of an interference rather than a help. I kept asking for help and I never heard from mine. So I started going straight to Catherine who was more than willing to talk to me. We emailed a lot and she always got on my emails when before, I would never hear from their caseworker. The State of Oregon never seemed to get all my paperwork and I constantly had to start over. I didn't know why they weren't getting all the information at one time 'cause I sent all of it to Anthem at the same time.
When I finally got a hold of Catherine, I was ready to give up. She calmed me down and told me that we could do this. She helped me and I did what she told me to do. She got right on things and I'm really thankful for her. She had to come in on all the stuff that I had already done which were not good anymore after a while. Overall, I would still recommend Anthem. If they give people a caseworker, they should just skip that person and talk to their attorney.

I did some research and Anthem's name kept popping up. At that point, I needed help and I felt comfortable speaking with their rep that answered the phone. The two ladies that worked on the case were pretty good. They worked pretty hard. They did a fair job. At that moment, I thought, "It’s the IRS." So you think you're getting snookered either way. I laid out my argument but it was just, nope, the IRS didn't wanna hear it. When you're on the losing end of that battle, you just have to take your lumps. However, the payment plan sufficed in everything else. It was stretching out for two and a half years but I paid it off in months. It started in December and I paid it off in March. So I basically killed myself to make sure that my debt was paid. But overall it was a good experience. I’ve overpaid and the IRS is still taking money out of my account. I'm now trying to go back to Anthem to answer my email to say, “Hey, tell your folks that you talk to to shut it off because you're still taking money.” So Anthem's post-payoff piece isn't that good. The main person overcharged me and I was trying to get in contact with him. He said he’ll get in contact back with me. He never did. I called a lot of times. He never got in contact with me. If I had to go back to Anthem, I would not. At the beginning, it was okay. But afterwards, it was not okay.
I've had their services so far for about two years and I've dished out over $2,000. They closed it out satisfactorily, and then they had to reopen it because some kind of lien was placed on me and it wasn't supposed to be placed on me. They had to go back and figure out another solution. Now, we’re going through that different solution where I'm making payments to the IRS. The thing I really didn’t like is they want you to post good comments about them before you even start the process. It was awful. I have emails back and forth between them and me and a whole lot of stuff that’s not good.

Anthem Tax Services had the highest rating at that time I went with them. The service was excellent. I talked to one of the partners first and then Katrina called me, and I went through the whole process with her getting my documentation. She asked me questions and then she took a backseat and let me speak to the lawyer. I've been dealing with him lately and he has been very receptive. If I have a question, and I would email him and he would answer me back within 24 hours.
The program worked very well. I don't have to pay what I owe because I can't afford to pay them. I had no problem with the fee. It was 10% of what I owe the IRS. I am very pleased with them. I like the reps' attentiveness to detail, their willingness to assure me that I was gonna get through just fine, they knew their stuff, and they knew what they were doing. Working with Anthem took that weight off my shoulder. I didn't have to worry about the IRS coming to take my house, my car, my IRA, take my vision, or take my back.

Thank you very much for such a great review, Janet! We work hard to offer the best outcome for our clients, so I am happy to see that reflected to your case.

It was fantastic working with Anthem Tax Services. In January, I was on Google, and they were one of the first ones that came up. I picked the top five and read about them and Anthem stood out. So I called them and they got my information. It was quick and painless. The situation of getting it resolved with the COVID might have taken a little bit time but the lawyer kept in touch with me and let me know what he was doing and what he was trying to get done and it ended up saving me about $6,000. I was very pleased with it.

We are so grateful for your kind words, Adam. Thanks for sharing your review with us and the community!

I read reviews for several companies, and Anthem Tax Services seemed to stand out. The last person I dealt with, Jacob, is exceptional. There was someone else in the middle that I dealt with that I thought was horrible. There was no follow-up. There was lack of communication. I had had a very unpleasant experience years prior with the company, and he was aware of that and he left me a little bit skeptical about going through this again. I didn't feel that I received anything that made me feel confident about dealing with the company prior to speaking with Jacob.
Jacob was able to assure me that things are being taken care of. He took his time to explain to me what was happening and followed through with everything. If I had a question, I had a response immediately. This is not an inexpensive process and it's a very emotional process to go through. Having somebody there to respond to you is very important and Jacob was, but the person that I dealt with prior was not. I was glad when things switched. The gentleman that I met when I went up to the office was great. I loved him. I just sort of hoped that the rest of the experience would be the same. When the second person came on, it wasn't good. But Jacob did turn the whole thing around. Kudos to him for doing that.
I would have difficulty recommending Anthem again because of the person in the middle that I dealt with. Unless they could go straight to someone directly, I would not recommend the company again. It's a shame because everything has worked out okay, but those interim months when I didn't hear anything back left a very bad taste in my mouth.

When I was looking for Tax Services online, I got two or three replies from companies and I liked Anthem Tax's the best. They were the most prompt too. I went with them and in the beginning, things were very good. However, I started with three people but Anthem had a massive turnover. The three people I was working with are now all gone. Someone picked up the slack but it was a little disconcerting to make a change all of a sudden. Still, Anthem handled the change beautifully.
I also got discouraged because there was a mistake that was made involving the IRS and the pandemic hit. Anthem helped me file an amended return. The IRS did not get into filing it and so far, the IRS has been closed. I'm dealing with a new person at Anthem named Craig who told me that they would get the amendment filed and that I should be hearing something this month and that their service would be done. That was disconcerting as their service is not done until I get my return and the issue is finished. Regardless, Craig was very professional. He jumped on things when there was a discrepancy with my state. He figured things out right away and gave me a very good explanation. I'd definitely recommend Anthem even with the changes they have had in-house.

I had tax problems and saw an ad. I researched Anthem on Better Business and they had really good reviews. So, I went ahead and gave them a shot. I had 3 reps and they were all excellent. They're overly friendly and honest. They keep you grounded on a realistic expectation of what they can do and what you should expect out of the program. They filed a bunch of back taxes for me and represented me with the IRS over that. They cleared all that up for me and they're doing this year's tax. I was pretty pleased with the results I got, which was basically I walked away owing them nothing. Since COVID happened, I also ended up getting almost $20,000 back.
I was so pleased with Anthem although you have to be patient with them. They don't call you every day. If you want somebody to call you every day and tell you, “We're working on it,” you're not gonna get that from them. They kind of leave you in the lurch. That frustrates people. I got that from the reviews that I read before I hired them. Sometimes people expect like an attorney is gonna call every day and check in on them but that's not what attorneys do. They file the paperwork then they call you and you got something to be told. They're not going to hold your hand because it's not necessary. They're gonna do what they're gonna do but the only thing I would like is a quick message saying, “Hey, we still got you."

Anthem Tax Services got back to me and addressed stuff quickly. They evaluate my case and they told me the best method to approach it with the finances I'm in right now, and that was what we went forward with. Their specialist was professional. He was good. I'm not a tax professional, but they gave me a lot of knowledge of it and knowledge on how to maneuver a little bit. So, I'm definitely getting that advice. Working with them through this process was good. They answered the questions very directly and professionally. They did not beat around the bush. This company is also affordable. They are not like other tax companies that try to rip you off.

I feel a little bit leery with Anthem. But they've been in contact with me and they've been calling me back. We finally got everything settled that way. Everything was settled with my numbers. I made the payment, which was a little bit steep, but I made everything work. So far, it’s going pretty good. They call me back every time if we had questions. It was nice because they did get back with me in a timely manner. Also, they call me every time we need a document. So the communication was always back and forth. I got everything in and I’m still waiting to hear for the final outcome. They said it should take around by August or September. Maybe even longer than that because the way our situation is now with the coronavirus, the IRS is behind and everybody is playing catch up. But I know for sure that all this will be down to one payment by Christmas time. So somehow, that was good.

Defense Tax Group they didn't do anything for me and I left them. Then, I read the reviews for Anthem Tax Services and that made me sign up with them. But so far, their service has been piss poor. Every time I'd reach out to the person that I was told was in charge of my account, I would email them four times and never get a response. So, I'd always end up going back to this guy, Bryce, and he's been very helpful. In fact, I was gonna reach out to him today because the last time I heard from Anthem was on April 29th. And that was because I wanted to know who is in charge of my account. The person that they told me before left for other things but their people aren't picking up the ball and notifying the people that that person was helping. So, I went to Bryce on the 29th and asked who the new person is because nobody was responding to my email. He gave me Joe and Joe responded that he's overseeing my case moving forward.
Other than that, Anthem helped me when we had the pandemic. I couldn’t pay because I was told by my governor that I couldn’t work in my field. They helped me get it refinanced through a bank to lower my payment and that helps. But right now, I want to know where we are with my case because Anthem has my money. It's rude when I gave them $7,000 and they can't communicate with me. I know they have a lot of people that they're working with, so when I send an email, I give them the benefit of the doubt of a three-day grace period to answer. But when it goes to four weeks without a response, it's a different story.

Anthem's website seemed more legitimate than others and they went about helping us figure out our tax situation and how to resolve it. We're super happy with the service that they provided and we had several reps throughout the entire process. But we were not super comfortable with the process and we kinda felt out of the loop a lot of the times. When we had a concern, we'd contact them and a different representative would get back with us. Then it'd be weeks before we hear back and they had to go through a process. Also, we are still not sure what our status is with the government and we never received paperwork defining what our status was. We know they put a lien on our house after it was deemed that our situation was uncollectible but we don't know if the tax fees or penalties are still being accrued.
But we came to a conclusion and now that that had happened, all these other lawyers and services like Anthem started sending us letters saying that they can help us out with our taxes, just like Anthem did. They're saying that they could take away our lien and bargain with the IRS on what we owe. But I haven't really called them because I don't trust people and I think that they're gonna say they can do something then we'll just end up in the same phase, and I'm not ready to pay another $3,000. Plus, we already spent $3,500 to have a lien put on our house. All I wanted to do was set out to the IRS and ask if they could take the penalties off.
Besides that, Anthem stopped all the threats from the IRS and that lifted a huge stress from us. Still, I didn't mind paying what I owed and I could have the taxes paid in two years. But I was advised to let Anthem put a lien on my house and not pay them. And in nine years, Anthem told me that my tax problem would go away. But when I talked to my friend about it, she asked if I was sure about that. I never got that in writing and they just told me that it would go away after nine years.

The guy I talked to told me what Anthem Tax Services would do and how much. I said okay and we were excited because it was a relief. But then, it took a while before someone got back with me. No one returned my call and there was no email. So, we got worried. That took a while, until I got a call from Craig. He asked me more information, which I already gave before. He said that we have to do this as soon as possible so it became a rush. So, it was kinda frustrating at first but Craig handles the case now. There were different people who got in touch with me or I called a number of times and they told me the person who was handling the case but Craig was the last one. He was able to set up something with the IRS and the state but towards the end, my wife lost her job and my hours got cut.
When my wife was working, we agreed that we could pay $1,000 a month. She's working now but she has less pay. We were hoping the payments would change and they would settle for much less. Instead, because of how much we were making back then, Craig was just trying to get us payment arrangements. He said that for now, they're gonna hold it. But his service is finished because we made arrangements with the IRS and the state. The state agreed on taking out the payments but the IRS will review it again in September and see where we’re at.

Anthem Tax Services had good reviews and then it seemed like they are pretty upfront with their fees versus everyone else. Getting started was very easy. There were different steps. In the beginning, I chose the finance option to pay for the services. Then everything started immediately. They had me sent in, what they needed and we did a financial analysis. So, that was all within the first couple of days. Then it took a little bit longer to get my offer package together. Part of that was me, I switched off, so they had to redo it again.
I just got laid off but we already submitted it. That was in April and I got a new job already. So, when we hear from the IRS again and I think they said it might be in October, we might have to resubmit my financial. But that's fine. They were very communicative if I reached out to them. I reached out to them during the pandemic, they were very responsive as far as where we are and what's going on. Everything is working out okay but this with COVID, things are delayed with the IRS. But I'm sure they're doing the best that they can. I wish it was faster though.

They settled with the IRS as far as reducing the penalties and fees, and now, they're working on a payment plan, but that’s being delayed due to IRS issues. Having worked with the government, I understand. I don’t think it's an Anthem Tax problem. I think it's a government problem and we just gotta deal with those. Everything's worked out okay so far. They were specific as to what they could do and they did everything. I had another couple of issues that they weren’t able to address, but I understand that’s not their forte. I was single, self-employed. Money was up and down over the years. So, I contacted Anthem Tax Services and I talked to a guy named Eric. Sounded like he's a good guy and he knows what he’s doing. Then I got the ball rolling, but then nothing happened for six months. Then I called back and they were like, “He doesn’t work here anymore.” Then it just became this game of like, another person would call, Patricia. Then she wouldn’t be in that department anymore, and then there was another person, and then he left. I didn’t know why they couldn’t just delegate one person.
I must have talked to eight people over a year and a half. They would say they’d call me back and nobody would. So then, I’d have to call them back again two weeks later. It was that kind of a thing till the last guy who got it buttoned up, which was cool. He jumped in and he got it finalized. But it was a little bit of a pain. I overall wasn’t very satisfied.
There’s a resolution in place, and I wanna just do what I’m supposed to do according to them. They came to a resolution with the IRS on my behalf. But, I’m going off of what they told me. I’ve never spoken to them myself. I was like, “Okay. I hope you’re right.” They also filed my 2018 taxes for me too. I paid for it, and that worked out well. It was the first time I had a CPA do it. It seemed a lot better than me doing it on TurboTax. It was the first time in nine years I didn’t owe money. I was like, “What if I’m doing it wrong?” So, I found that interesting.

We initiated contact, paid our fees in full and completed everything Anthem requested in April/May 2019. My experience has been; phone calls and emails are not returned (after several attempts,) no updates on the status of anything unless we were finally able to make contact, several people appear to have been given our case (who knows? we aren't notified,) the status of our current issue remains unknown as we still have not received any returned emails, phone calls. If we have to call the IRS directly, why did we hire Anthem Tax?
I can honestly say I do not feel confident in the outcome or supported in any step of this process. When a company is hired to represent you, that means they should show up and do so. I also do not believe it is unrealistic to expect to receive an update once a month. Over a year has passed since initiating this process. Are we close to resolution? I don't have a clue - the company we hired to represent us hasn't returned recent emails or phone calls. If you want to feel supported, have knowledge of your case, or information related to your case, educate yourself and please consider my review.

I didn't wanna deal with anybody but Katherine because she was so nice. So at the end of our process before we closed with the IRS, she was great. Daniel should be at a Fortune 500 company. He is that good. I told him I managed an 80-million-dollar portfolio and his voicemail impressed me so much that I called him and let him know that his voicemail alone will get him so many clients. Anthem Tax Services out of Los Angeles is not gonna hold on to him very much longer and I already talked to the owners about him.

Anthem appeared to be the place of choice to resolve my taxes. However, after so many months had passed and the corona virus delayed lives somewhat but it was also explained to me by their representatives that now was a good time to settle. It keeps being delayed. They were requesting 2019 Taxes way before they are due and even though I explained I needed to get this resolved here we are nearly nine months later.
It sure seems like there have been a lot of excuses to date around all the delays. I pleaded with them months ago to make it happen. Seems like there are too many people in the mix and not enough personal attention to matters at hand. Nearly 9 months has passed and we are still going nowhere with this. They collected all of my money in the first 90 days. Now they hang up and refuse to respond to my calls and requests for a refund. Horrible experience to have to deal with when you owe the IRS and now that more time has passed Anthem Tax Services.

The representative I worked with at Anthem was Ron, and the service was really good up to three weeks ago. He told me that the state of Hawaii where I live had removed the penalty fee of my payments, around $9,000 of penalties, which was great, and I would be receiving a new bill. I've never received a new bill. All I've been receiving is more, and now they're threatening to attach my things. I might have to just go and pay that, or go down there myself and see what's going on.
I've called them and told them repeatedly. I haven’t gotten a return call back until yesterday. He apparently wasn’t there anymore. And they got a new phone system which is terrible. I've never gotten anybody when I've called them. I've gotten a recording that says that they're on the line or they're away from their phone and to leave a message, and press either pound or 2 or 3, and they don’t return it.
The tax keeps adding up and I said, “I paid $5,000 for your services, and if this is the way it is, I want some of that money back.” And I said, “Apparently, I'm not getting the relief of the $9,000 in penalties,” so then they called some more and talked to them some more. And the state says, now, they're gonna send them a new thing. I got an email back from a guy at Anthem who said that he called them again and they said they would send another email with its new tax to them. So, that’s it. I haven’t really heard anything and it was very frustrating. In order for me to get a call back from them, I called to threaten that I was gonna give them a bad rating.
On their recording it says, “We know how hard it is when you're dealing with the tax because it's very frustrating and it means a change in your life.” It was hard dealing with them. They wouldn’t call me back. It was even more frustrating because I paid $5,000 for their services. So, it was really good dealing with him, but then I haven’t been able to talk to him for three weeks, I don't know what's going on. All I want is an answer or a phone call back and for them to follow up. I offered to go down to the office myself, at the tax office and talk to them and say, “Hey, you guys said you were gonna remove the penalty.” And they told me not to.

My experience with Anthem is not the greatest. They ask me no question, there's no communication, and they need to give a little more clarity on what it is they actually do. Evidently, as it appears to me, what they do is simply to be more like an agent. "We just do your taxes and get them all together to make sure you're all filed and everything," is not what I was wanting to have done. I had to resubmit a lot of things I had submitted. We started something way back in 2017 and we're now getting it finished out this year. They weren't real responsive. I called to speak with someone and ask the questions and it would go to the voicemail, which might take a week, 2 weeks, or even more for them to get back to me. The rep might have had the explanations in the head when I enrolled but maybe they didn't listen to what I was really looking for and do. I had a different tax lawyer in previous years and they screwed me over. So, we were looking at some and asking people around. Anthem Tax Services had some pretty good reviews so we decided to go with them. The whole process was nerve-racking. They were better in communicating. If I would pick them up, they would get back to me at a decent time. It was a good overall experience, especially since the outcome was what it was, with them offering compromise expenses. Whenever I talked especially with Daniel, he wasn’t getting annoyed with my questions. I would be freaking out ‘cause I did something and when I called them, it would be kind of, “It’s okay, bro. This is just what it is here.” He’d be understanding and explained what was going on.
I've been going through this tax issue for almost 10 years and going through it is life-changing because you feel like less of a man because this thing is looming over your life. When that releases, I’m like you’re like, “Oh, yes! I don’t have to put this on nobody." There’s no burden for my wife or the family that we want to have. It was an amazing experience to have that.

Anthem Tax was recommended by Better Business Bureau that was why I looked into them and went with them. The first contact I had was Greg. He was very nice and easy going. I'm 74 years old and so, that was the reason I went with him. I was impressed with his knowledge. He put me at ease. We owed a considerable amount and had very little means, if any, to pay it. They explained how IRS goes through these accounts every so many years and that was how they reviewed things. So, that has taken a load off my shoulders especially after losing my husband so suddenly back in November. I'm very happy.
They were looking for some data from me right now. If I could have talked to someone at that time and ahold of anyone other than the person that the account was turned over to at the last, I could have gotten the data to them and I would have been in better shape. But this person said they would call me back and send me an email, their email but I never got it. I had to call and ask for them, and I never got ahold of them. So, I was not happy. Eventually, I got ahold of someone who was a CPA. And they went through everything with me and just told me to just chill and get the information to them. Right after that, I had a real bad spell of cellulitis in both legs and I've had to stay in bed, be propped up for almost over a month now. So, I've not been able to get some stuff to them.

When I was looking for help online, I found some statistics that rated Anthem above other well-known agencies. I had an issue that came up where I owed back taxes because of a W-2 that I didn’t know existed that I received a couple of years late and payment that I owed taxes from a few years ago. Had I been richer, I might’ve just paid it, but I’m not so I needed help with it. I didn’t know how to begin to address the problem. The people at Anthem answered every question and they were always completely open and fair. They did a really good job of explaining to me the process that would occur and what I needed to do about it. They gave me guidance in every way. My issue was satisfactorily resolved. It’s a huge relief to have Anthem behind me and to have things work out so well.

I had some tax issues with multiple years of tax issues and finally got to where they contacted my employer who contacted me saying I'm gonna be garnished. And so, I went online and found Anthem Tax Services. They dropped the ball a little bit in that I was placed on the backburner a little bit. They were a little slow as far as on my end so that I got additional problems from the IRS. But it was a complicated thing dealing with the IRS. It was not a quick thing. My employer contacted me again saying, “Hey, look, you’re about to get garnished.” But as soon as I contacted Anthem, they got right in gear and we got everything done. I owed like a little more than twenty grand, and I would up getting about $3,000 back. So, it was a $23,000 difference, and it was multiple years. It was fantastic. I intend to use them to file my regular taxes this year.
Joe was the initial person who contacted me and had other people working under him that took care of various aspects of it. It went through several people, but they were all working together. I’m not super tech savvy, but I just had to email back and forth and be able to scan and attach stuff. That was all I was required to do. And then, I signed things. Also, they’re in Los Angeles and I'm in San Diego. It’s a couple of hours away, but I never had to leave my house dealing with them.

My brother told me about them Anthem and when I called them, I was freaking out. I was scared and I didn’t know what on earth was going on. But they were very calming and reassuring. The rep kept telling me, “We can take care of this. We’ve been through this. You’re gonna be okay, just breathe.” They kept telling me to breathe, “It’ll be okay. We’re gonna get through this, and I’m sure we can help you this far and possibly this far.” Sure enough, everything they said worked out. Their process was great. I wish I would have known my husband had a mess, but I didn’t know that. So, once I found out I was in a mess, these people were really good and very helpful. They always responded and were very self-explaining even to me who knew nothing about it. They did a great job and they've gotten most of the stress out. I was very impressed.

The gentleman who tried to help me with my taxes was great, but all of the sellers leading up to that was awful. And I don't think that I've gotten my money's worth. The primary reason that I contacted Anthem is because of support with a tax burden and I got no support whatsoever. They set me up with a tax accountant that was incredibly helpful and responsive. He was able to help me with what I needed. But there were some follow-up things that were required. They helped me with filing back taxes which I probably could have done with a software program. But the thousands of dollars that are owed based on just filling out a form is still a debt that I have to address. And I'm back at the position where, "Oh, don't call a tax service on your own." But now, I'm calling a tax service on my own. It's sad. I wouldn't let anybody use Anthem. I'm fortunate I had the upfront money to pay them, but the fee was astronomical.

Hi Jeffrey-
You had hired us to file your 2015-2018 tax returns which we had done for you. Because you had paid in 0 taxes to the IRS and State...you owed.
Unfortunately, when we file tax returns...we can't make a debt disappear. That would lead to an audit.
Please contact us directly so we can try and walk you through everything we filed.

This company actively engaged me when they wanted my money. I will say that everyone I had contact with at that time was courteous and friendly. Once I paid the 10K, I was met with stonewalls. The legal department has no sense of customer service. How can someone cough up 10k and not have a session with her attorney? NOT ONE! I have not once spoken to an attorney. I was sent 2 messages via her secretary. I don't know what's happening to my case. I know it's on hold at IRS but I did that bit myself before I contacted Anthem. I'm unaware of the ramification of that hold. No one has talked to me.
They promised that I wouldn't get a lien and that I could pay pennies on a dollar. Well, I don't know what to do or how to proceed because no one is updating me. If I had hired an independent attorney or even paid IRS 10k, I probably would be in better shape today. I sent an email in November and to date there has been no response. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. The Legal department sucks and the sales team overpromised.

The service they provided was exactly what they claimed. They did stop garnishment of my pay. The process did take longer than I expected and although the result was a cease of the garnishment, it seemed like immediately after my case was closed a tax lien was filed. I had an issue with my 2016 tax statement and the IRS had serviced me a notice saying that I should pay some additional amounts. I believed that the IRS was incorrect. It was misleading some of my filings. And part of the demand for the amount was incorrect and I wanted to have it resolved. I approached Anthem because they had a good rating on multiple sources.
I was asked to submit an amount for the service and file some papers. I was made to understand that it was immediate and I did that. After that, there was a very big gap before I heard back and I had to follow up multiple times. Also, my case was reassigned a couple of times. So, I felt like I had to restart the whole conversation, explain the same things twice to two of those who were assigned to handle the case with me. But eventually, it was assigned to one person and he was rather prompt. He also made a mistake because he was not very familiar with the details of my case and filed a response that was inaccurate. I had to kind of step through all the reasons why it was inaccurate and he filed another response. Eventually, the outcome that I wanted to achieve was achieved. I wish that had happened sooner with fewer interactions and a lower cost of time and effort for me. But overall, I’m happy because that was achieved.

After what I just went through with Jake S. (I believe he is one of the 2 owners of Anthem Tax Services) I have to question his and his company's honesty and integrity. He lied to me numerous times deliberately. We hired Anthem Tax Services and after our case was closed we received an email from Jake Shulman promising a hefty $100 Visa gift card if we leave reviews on 4 sites, Yelp.com, bescompany.com, thecreditreview.com, consumeraffairs.com. Who wouldn't write a glowing review for $100? Unfortunately this whole thing turned into a nightmare with lies and lies and more lies from Jake Shulman. This man has no honesty, no integrity. And if he is not honest how can his company be? I also have to wonder, is he doing this very same thing what he did to me to other people? Maybe nobody says anything because they think $50 gift card is better than nothing. But it's not only about the money. A deal is a deal and a promise is a promise.
The deal was, I post reviews on 4 sites and in exchange for my work and time Anthem Tax Services sends me a $100 gift card. But it's not what happened. Here is the story: - On September 25, 2019 I've received an email from Anthem Tax Services, from Jake Shulman, promising a $100 VISA gift card if I post a review on 4 websites. - On Sept. 28 I've sent Jake an email letting him it was done. Some days later we received only $50 gift card instead of the promised $100. - On October 7th I wrote an email to Jake Shulman requesting the missing $50 gift card. No reply received. - On October 17th I wrote another email to Jake Shulman asking why did we receive only $50 Visa gift card? Jake wrote me back the same day saying "I’m so sorry! I don’t know why you were only sent $50. I will absolutely get you the other $50 sent out ASAP. Apologies!"
- On October 27th, after 10 days went by and no visa gift card came, I wrote Jake Shulman another email asking if Anthem Tax Services still intends to send the missing / promised $50 visa gift card? Again, I received a reply from Jake the same day, saying "Wow. Okay. I’m so sorry. I will be sending them out myself tomorrow. I apologize. This is not okay. I’ll get you a tracking number tomorrow." - On October 29th, two days later, still no tracking number received so another email followed to Jake now asking for the tracking number. - On October 30th I received a reply from Jake, "Hey Erika- Just got to the office. I was looking at the reviews and it appears the reason why you only got $50 was because you only wrote reviews on yelp and consumer affairs. In order to receive the $100 gift card you had to of written reviews on. If you wouldn’t mind writing reviews on those websites then we would be more than happy to send out the difference."
- I wrote him back right away letting him know that we posted the reviews, as Anthem Tax Services required, on all 4 sites and I included screen shots about all 4 websites with the reviews. - Same day Jake wrote me back saying "That’s so bizarre! I couldn’t find them when I went to go search for them. But, clearly there’s proof based on your email. Give me 20 minutes and I’ll have that tracking number for you!" By that time I was really tired of the back and forth writing and did not have a good feeling about this whole thing. If Jake Shulman would've looked at the review websites there is no way he would've missed them. Anyway, I am a nice person and still gave him the benefit of the doubt.
- On October 30th Jake gave me a tracking number for USPS. "Hey Erika- Here’s your tracking number for USPS: **. Thank you for your patience!" When I tried to track the Visa gift card the following day through USPS, it showed me that shipping label / tracking number was created but the item was not yet shipped. So I sent another email to Jake asking about the status of the Visa card. - Same day on October 31st Jake wrote me back saying "Hey Erika- I don’t know what the disconnect is. It shows that it’s our for delivery." What?? How could it be out for delivery when the tracking system still showing as of October 31st in the afternoon: Tracking History October 30, 2019, 9:36 pm Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item WOODLAND HILLS, CA 91367 A shipping label has been prepared for your item at 9:36 pm on October 30, 2019 in WOODLAND HILLS, CA 91367.
This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. October 30, 2019 Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item Also, even if Jake would've shipped the Visa card on October 30th as he said (lied) he did, how could it be out for delivery the very next day from California to New Mexico? Another red flag. After Jake wrote me that as per his information the Visa card is out for delivery on October 31th, I wrote him that as per USPS the item WAS NOT yet dropped off at the post office. I mean how hard can it be to read a simple tracking history? Jake wrote me back. "It is shipped out. I just provided you a picture of the details showing it being out for delivery/delivered to you today. I have no reason to not send it to you? Yes the tracking number was created yesterday. Remember. I said I would have it sent out yesterday. It was shipped out yesterday."
Jake even sent me a picture as "proof" that he sent out the visa card. His "proof" showed "October 30, 2019 Tracking number created", that's it. I've sent Jake another email asking him to enter the tracking number into USPS tracking system and send me a screenshot about what he sees. I even inserted the USPS tracking link into the email to make it easier for him. I've never heard back from Jake Shulman again. - Today is November 8th and, of course, I did not receive the missing $50 visa gift card. The tracking number was for someone else, whatever Anthem Tax Services shipped to someone to Chico, CA. I gave Jake our mailing address twice, I wrote him we live in NM. Tracking History November 2, 2019, 1:32 pm Delivered CHICO, CA 95926. If someone enters the tracking number Jake gave me into USPS's tracking system, it is clearly showing Jake lied when he said he shipped out the gift card on October 30th.
The item was actually dropped off at the Woodland Hills, CA post office on October 31st 7:44 pm. and two days later it was delivered to someone in Chico, CA. and not to NM. Tracking number ** October 31, 2019, 7:44 pm. Accepted at USPS Origin Facility WOODLAND HILLS, CA 91367. As I said earlier, Jake Shulman is one of the two owners of Anthem Tax Services. This is a company we've shared our bank account information with and also our social security numbers. Now I am concerned if our personal information is secure with them at all if they are willing to risk their reputation, their integrity for $50? I also have to wonder if all their reviews are legit or are most of them bought and paid for?

Ericka, we are happy we were able to help with your back taxes with the IRS. We are sorry to hear about the issues with the gift cards and the misunderstanding. There was a shipping issue and we are working on resolving the shipping issue promptly. Thank You

I had a tax issue and when I did a web search, Anthem was rated the highest. However, it was terrible. The only communications I got from them were at the very beginning with the emails, but after that, I had to do everything. They wouldn’t return my calls or emails. I would leave messages and they wouldn't answer my questions until I finally got ahold of somebody. They also switched the people who were handling my account four times and I wouldn’t find out until I would call to find out what the heck’s going on. I was getting letters from the IRS, and I thought they were taking care of it because I did a power of attorney.
The last person I got ahold of, she didn’t have everything I sent them. The left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. I chewed her out and told her I wanted my money back if they were not gonna do this. She got on the phone that day with the IRS and we took care of it in one day, but it took six months to get it done because of them not returning calls. It was very stressful.

Cynthia- We are sorry about your experience. Three things I did notice after looking into your case was that we were able to save you 85% of what you originally owed to the IRS. In regards to your case being switched to 4 different people, your case was only transferred one time and the other two people you spoke with were the case managers who assist the enrolled agent or attorney. You originally owed close to $10,000 to the IRS and after we were done we were able to get your debt down to a much more manageable amount of $1,900. We were also able to set up a realistic payment plan for you after that too. It also only took us 2 months to finish your case after you paid us off. Lastly, we can't close and finish a clients case until they've paid us off which that's stated in the agreement you signed with us.
We are very sorry for the experience you had, but on a positive note you save a little more then $8,000 and your case was finished within 2 months of paying us off.

I first spoke to Robert in November last year. Interactions with them has not been awesome but it has not been terrible per se too. It's been okay, but I had to pursue them.
They haven't finished the service yet. It's just a tax thing. They should have finished it already. I've spoken with other companies since and they said they would have it done in three months at the most. With Anthem Tax, we're going on 12. The payment was also too much. Also, what they're doing for me has nothing to do with my credit score, but my credit score has gone down since they've helped me. I would not recommend them.

At first, I was really frustrated with the original specialist that I spoke to. I got all the paperwork signed and sent to him and was waiting to hear from someone. Never heard from anybody. Then I got a correspondence from the IRS, and I called back and asked what was going on. No one seemed to know what was happening. But then I finally contacted Christine and she was out of Orlando. Once she contacted and worked with me, everything went smoothly and things got resolved. It was so amazing. Anthem Tax has taken a lot of stress off of me.

We had been using a tax guy for four years, but somebody let us know that they were shutting him down. We were a little concerned that maybe there were some problems. So we had a different tax guy and we had him look our tax documents over and he found some fairly major errors. I got Anthem involved since if we owed this money, we were gonna pay it and we were hoping we didn’t have to have a lot of penalties and interest on top of it. The guy that we talked to thought it was worthwhile looking into and that he would check into it. But we ended up being very disappointed. It was never given to anybody specific except for the guy that we talked to, and he never turned it over to anybody else. I realized that nobody was getting back to us.
After back and forth phone calls, I finally got to talk to somebody, but we got a runaround for a long time. We started getting letters from the IRS, and the first two were for the first two years of those four years. They said they were already out of the statute of limitation, and they couldn’t do anything about them. Anthem sent us the bills of what we owe them. I ended up talking with the agent again and told him what was going on. It was a lot of runaround and we didn’t seem to be getting any help. We had a deadline and we had to pay them. I decided we were gonna pay them and the agent said to try one more time. But nobody even got back to us to see if they were even trying one more time. The agent told us that they could pay me back, but I’m not even concerned about the money. I just wanted pay our bill right then. That was the last I heard of them. We’re very dissatisfied. We ended up paying our bills and got it all done.
The guy that we were dealing was really on top of it and he was gonna really help us, but he didn’t carry through. When I tried to get ahold of people, it took forever to be able to actually talk to a person. There were a lot of promises that were not getting through. One time, they said they were gonna get back to us in one or two hours. But they never got back to us at all. If they’re gonna process something, they should try to do their best to carry through on it. Or at least communicate and say that they’re not gonna carry through another. Communication goes a long way and there was a lot of lack in communication between us and Anthem. We gave them money and they didn’t provide the service. I won’t do that again.

Now, we have negotiated a payment arrangement. I’ve had payment arrangements with the IRS before, but Anthem told us that after five years of on time payment, the rest of the balance would be forgiven, but the documentation we got from the IRS did not say the same. I asked the woman who represented herself as an attorney from Anthem why they didn’t say the same thing, and she said, “No, it’s absolutely such.” I also asked if I file taxes and my husband was previously unemployed and now employed, if they would up the amount, and she said they would not. I have it all documented and we just made our first payment.
However, once we paid, they were not responsive. I was filling out paperwork and I sent them back. I didn’t hear back for a month, and then I called and said, “We had messages that didn’t get returned.” And then I sent emails and they responded and said, “We needed other documents.” Why didn’t someone return all of my messages? I thought they were already negotiating on our behalf. So, from an experience perspective, I wouldn’t recommend them. I’m leery with what they’ve given me but I’m cautiously optimistic.

The advisor was very professional but also came across as friendly and knowledgeable. And he was not afraid to tell me that certain other things needed to happen on my end before he could help me to the full extent I was seeking. I learned more in five minutes from this gentleman than I learned in over an hour of form filling and prevarication from two other companies who profess to be in the same field but with hindsight were at best unhelpful. Bravo Anthem Tax Services!

The guy who kicked off the process was really nice and the attorney that handled it was a sweetheart. They did right by me. The process was very long and there was not a lot of communication. Also, I would've appreciated follow-ups. Even when I said something about it, there was no communication or follow-ups. But when it was all said and done and resolved, I ended up not paying a dime, so I couldn't complain. It was a relief. Anthem Tax Services did their job. They didn't even go the direction I wanted them to. And had they done what I wanted, I would've actually ended up paying something.

Anthem Tax Services saved me only $10,000 which isn't very much in the scheme of what I had to pay and out of that was the $5,000 payment. My soon-to-be ex-husband set it up, so I ended up having to pay almost the entire amount. I did all the work and if Anthem Tax can do anything to make me a happy customer, that would be a smart move because I’m feeling ripped off.

The reviews about Anthem Tax Services seemed to be very good. I enrolled with them and it was easy. They were very specific and they told me what to expect so there wasn’t a problem. There were two representatives I worked with. They were both very efficient, professional and informative. One followed through ‘til the end of the service. Anthem was very patient and they got the job done. They helped me with my taxes. They took care of the problem and I’m very grateful.

I was googling different services and Anthem Tax Services was one of the top ones and they had an A++ with Better Business Bureau. I researched them, I looked at the Better Business Bureau website and it was correct. I read through countless bunch of reviews versus their reviews and a couple of other sites' reviews. And they seemed to be genuine, not like a bot created, and that was why I went with them. The rep I worked with was very professional. We had an efficient communication. The program they set me up with was good. The process was a little lengthy but it went very smoothly. So far, they've been responsive and I'm happy.

From what I had seen when I was reading to see who looked good, Anthem Tax Services had some positive feedback that they did what they said they were gonna do and people settled for pennies on the dollar. When I had spoken to another company and I didn't make my decision quickly they harassed me. Anthem Tax didn't so I went with them. They did what they said they were supposed to. They were very kind and answered my questions.
Anthem was able to make sure that the creditors were not gonna drain the bank accounts and then got the revenue officer to discuss the whole process. After speaking with the initial gentleman and they got things started, I paid their fee. I was given a case manager and then I had the attorney, but when I called up or emailed, I didn't get an answer. That was a little frustrating because I’m still getting letters and I thought that was not supposed to happen. If they say I have a case manager, then they shouldn't call me back about 48 hours later. There were times that it was an entire week, which was a very long time. If they have that much work, then they need to hire some other people because nobody should wait that long without an answer of some sort.
Some of their people were absolutely wonderful though. They asked what my problem was and they investigated and got me the information I had been calling about. But there was one individual that put me in the file drawer and disappeared so I’m now working directly with the attorney, which is not the way they normally do it, but at least it keeps things moving along.

It was fairly easy to sign up with Anthem Tax. They provided all the document for you to sign. They provided a payoff over a certain period of time, and we've completed the program. Everything worked out pretty good.

Any time I call Anthem Tax to email me, they get back to me. They don’t leave me hanging on the line. The communication is important because it's not like a live person I can put my hand on, but they get right back to me. The enrollment was pretty easy and pretty straightforward. So far, they're doing all right.

I hired Anthem in August. They did some work for me and in late August, they told me that they had a result, and it would take a month or two to get everything to me, and it’s now October. I haven’t seen anything. I called them and they told me everything is fine, but I don’t have anything in writing from them telling me that it’s fine. They told me they produced result, yet they haven’t given me anything to demonstrate that. As far as I know, they haven’t even contacted the government. They said they have, but I haven’t got any proof of anything.
One of the things they touted in their marketing was, that it’s very important to move quickly, and that they would immediately get a copy of my transcripts and then evaluate it, and advise me of what they felt should be done. And they haven’t done it. I said, “Send me copies of what you sent them.” I gave them a bunch of information, and they haven’t sent me anything that they’ve sent. I’ve demanded specifically that they give me copies of their contact with the IRS, and they haven’t. Surely, they’ve sent them my material if they’ve settled the case already and I’ve got nothing from the IRS, nothing from Social Security and nothing from Anthem, except when I call them. And they were very prompt up until this week. I intend to start raising hell. I just sent them a scorcher, meaning an angry letter. I corresponded with them for a month trying to get some answers and I’m not getting them, and I’m disgusted. So, I’m threatening to turn them in.
There’s just so much corruption and so much theft. You don’t know who to trust and I trusted Joe, the rep I worked with. He was telling me about how he was gonna stay on top of it, and now, he’s not returning my calls. It looks like a fraud. It looks like a scam. I intend to contact the Attorney General and the State Bar of California. I just hope they haven’t ripped me off from my money. I gave them until tomorrow and if they don’t respond, their problems with me have just begun. But if they’ve done what they said, I’m prepared to praise them.

Right away, Anthem Tax Services made me feel like I was not the only one in the world with a problem. When they told me how they were gonna do this, I was very relieved. The enrollment process for the individual tax service was a little hard to understand at first but once I got going, it went really well. Their rep was excellent. He checked with me, sent me a lot of emails, let me know what was going on, and kept me up to date on things that were happening. Whenever he needed anything, he would always send me an email or call me, and we would get it done as quick as we could. It was good.

Anthem helped file my taxes and help me deal with some back taxes. Their enrollment process was quick. The only thing I didn't really like was their reps didn't contact me as often as I would like to be. And they moved locations without even telling me. I couldn't get through on their old numbers so I had to look them up just to call them. They should have called me and told me at least. Also, the agent that I had before just quit so I had to talk to a bunch of different people but they moved faster from the other person that quit since they still had the same information. It worked out a bit better towards the end. I was just wondering what was going on because nobody called me. Their customer relations wasn't the worst but they could improve on it. I'm still on the process of completing their program. They're still working on trying to negotiate but they're finally getting it done. I just wish there would be more communications.
