I had a car accident on 12/17/2021 and contacted Ally Financial to see if they received my insurance information and they tossed me from CSR to CSR and noted one of them told me they was from India that explains not understanding. So my insurance tells me they have check for them just waiting on letter of guarantee but guess what this company has no Total Loss Department. And I got tossed to Rep after Rep and no one knew anything. They did not even know what a 10 day pay off was. Nothing can be accomplished. So mean time I am waiting around with no transportation because they cannot get things accomplished and guess what number to their Total Loss Department is same number to Customer Service. This company suppose to have good rates. I do not see those good ratings. It's a hoax. A lie. My next step is FTC. They are misleading customers in that area.

I banked with Ally for almost 2 years. I had an interest checking and savings account with them. On Christmas Eve, my direct deposit was deposited into my account like normal and I paid some bills. A few hours later upon checking my account, I realized that my savings account was closed and that my debit card was locked. I called them immediately and spoke with a supervisor after an hour. Nothing was done to rectify the situation. Be warned if you choose to do business with them. You would be better off sticking your money under your mattress honestly.

My car was totaled on April 28, 2021. After countless phone calls to complete inept people who know nothing and all tell a different story, I finally filed a complaint against Ally for refusing to credit my account for over a month with refunds from extended warranty. They finally sent me that payment which I received in September. On Oct 1, Ally received an additional $600 payment from my GAP insurance. It was confirmed by 3 different people that it was received, but nobody could tell me when I would be refunded. I was told anywhere from 10 - 55 days.
I filed complaint with the CFPB again. Ally then closed it out stating that they didn't owe me the additional $600. I called and asked for a return call - you guessed it - no call back. A 3rd CFPB complaint was filed and their reply was that they were still working on the previous one after they had already closed it out. It has been over 2 months and they've still yet to refund my $600. I'd rather use a loan shark than deal with ALLY ever again.

Do NOT bank with this company if you want someone who will actually support you. I have referred so many people to bank with Ally over the last several years we have been with them. Unfortunately I’m now warning people to RUN the other direction. They are so nice and helpful over the phone… until money is involved, specifically their money. We had a fraud case, someone stole $1200 right out of our checking account. Ally did nothing. There was no case. They looked for no proof. After stringing it out for a couple months telling us to “trust their procedures” they simply told us from their point of view, we could have taken the money ourselves trying to cheat them. So much for fraud protection.

By far the worst company I had deal with; they were charging me fees to make early payments to the principal. One I paid $50 and the fee was $50 so I could just burn that money. I had to make another loaner to buy the loan. I won’t ever deal with this company again. TERRIBLE!

Ally Bank was overpaid on a car loan by our bank. The loan was paid off on October 25, 2021. We are told that we will not receive our $ 1033.00 overpayment refund until December 10. 2021. They blame covid for not being able to process the refund. In the meantime, they use our money to loan out, not paying us interest. Despite compounding Auto loan interest daily for over 4 years. Short and simple, I bought a vehicle from their predatory lending bank, when I became ill from Covid and got behind on my bill, they were heartless, had no plan in place to help people who got off track. And if you need assistance from them to get back on track you have to pay your bill upfront first. Now, what kind of help is that? If you had the money to pay upfront you wouldn’t need the help. How does that help the struggling customers? They finance easy at very high interest rates. I paid my previous vehicle off in full 29,000 and they still gave me a very high interest rate. If you are shopping for a loan, don’t get cheated by them like I did. Go find a loan somewhere else or I promise you will regret it.
They have no sympathy for their customers at all, no program to help, they call after 9:00pm and the calls are Very aggressive, the interest is tooooooo high. So I guess the ceo is living very good because he is bleeding the customers dry. They will call like they care because I told people the truth in my review and I’m refinancing with someone else. But I’m only telling the truth. Don’t buy from this company.

Please, no matter how desperate you are regarding your finances, don't get involved with this company. When I had a low credit score, they approved me with an astronomical 22% interest rate. I took it, have been paying for 2 years, and it's like throwing money in the garbage. Finally my credit score has risen to where I could try and trade the car in, but Ally has blocked every attempt for me to trade in my car by not accepting the terms. I then went to refinance with my credit union who gave me a 6% rate, and after my credit union sent them a huge check, Ally does not release the vehicle due to a $35.00 balance that was incurred because the payment took a few days to arrive. Now my new loan is going to have to wait because processing that new payment will take 10 days by Ally, then they take another 10 days to send the paid off letter and Title out. Once you are locked in with them, they will bleed you for every cent they can. Please find another way.

I opened a deposit account and an investment account. I funded both accounts using Ally’s internal debit initiation system, moving funds from another bank to Ally. Once the transfers were completed, Ally blocked both accounts without explanation or initiating any contact with me: no courtesy call, no e-mail, no letter. I telephoned and was asked to provide scanned copies of identification and a selfie of me holding the identification. I did so within minutes. Ally continued to block the account. I telephoned to confirm that the documents were in hand with Ally and was promised resolution within three days.
One week later, the accounts remained blocked. I telephoned to learn why and Ally was unable to verify my name, social security number, mother’s maiden name or security question. I was then asked five questions, all of which were completely unrelated to any logical information about me. I passed zero security checks. I was transferred to Victoria, the same haughty Ally employee, who asked for the identification and selfie. It was my third conversation with her and her haughty attitude was reconfirmed.
Miraculously, the identification was reviewed more than a week after originally submitted and the accounts were unblocked. She explained that: “it is not her job to review the documents, only attach them.” Not a word of apology from Ally until I requested one, when I was told: “if it makes you happy, I will give you one.” When I logged into the app to transfer money away from Ally, the accounts remained blocked. In a subsequent call, all security information magically worked again and the funds could be moved. Shocking.

I’ve had this bank for 3 years and I only have reported a fraud recently. The only one that I ever had. I had a transaction that I did not recognized and they told me they are going to need to investigate it and that it will take 10 days. And while I wait on their decision I didn’t have any card because they had to order me a new one and they won’t give me the money that was taken out due to fraud. So I have no way of getting my money out of this account and no way of spending it. It’s so sad because I never reported fraud until now and when I reported it they made me feel like I’m the fraud. They don’t care about their customers. Very sad and disappointed. To solve my problem with them I decided to get an account with a different bank. NEVER WILL I EVER USE ALLY EVER AGAIN.

I was out of town when my car was repossessed even though payments were all caught up and they did not bother to send me written or verbal notice. Now for 7 days straight I have been relentless in trying to get a hold of ANYONE at Ally via phone and email that can give me any information about not only where is my vehicle but how do I get my vehicle back and how to do a lease buy out. I’ve tried calling every single department possible and I keep getting transferred to different departments until someone eventually disconnects or hangs up on me because no knows the answer to my very basic questions.
There has to be someone in charge of my account and there has to be a way to get a hold of this person. It feel like I have a better shot of getting a hold of the wizard of oz. It has been a week now that I do not have a vehicle to get back and forth from work or transport my son to school or the hospital god forbid he has an allergy attack. No one has gotten back to my emails and I’ve sent one to every email on the website and it has been a week, no response. I’ve financed cars for several years. I had a 5 year agreement and have always paid on time. I only have about $3000 left. But Once covid hit, unfortunately I was laid off my job, financially struggling with many bills and still not working. They offered to work with me in the beginning reassuring me but in the end, that just was not the case. I was behind about 2 months, I had made payments but they were not the full amount. I got a bill saying I owed $1200+ which included late fees. The bill due date was for 7/31/21. On 7/29 the day before, without a verbal warning, or letter, I went out and my vehicle was repossessed. In a panic. I thought my car was possibly stolen or taken for a past ticket? Had no idea what happened.
After calling the local police they suggested I call my finance company. After 2 HOURS, and a runaround of calling, I was finally told yes it was repossessed for late payments. I had received a voicemail prior that day just telling me to give a call back with no indication of urgency or possible repossession. They took my car to Suffolk County LI, 35 minutes from where I live when there are actually 3 reputable companies near me. The company also is only there from 10-2 and closed on the weekend. How convenient! After getting on the phone again to verify the information, a robotic, blunt, foreign, cold voice told me, I had to pay the total amount which was almost double with the late fees and a $400 tow fee! Almost $2000 and cash only! Also, there is a key fee if you don’t hand in your key right away and additional storage fees for each day your car remains.. I was given to August 14, otherwise my car would be put up for auction..
I was hysterical, Penniless, and humiliated.. Thank God, I was able to borrow the money from a friend and family member. You would think during these times of the pandemic a small shred of human decency would be shown but no. No remorse, not helpful, not honest, and just want to take your money.. I’ve never encountered such a company like this in my entire life. And I’ve been in customer service for over 25 years.... Yes I was late, but that is not how you treat customers... I’m writing this to help others. Please Be aware.. Check your due date, and the day before your due date, or they will repo you without warning...

That same night they repossessed my car. Making me pay $2,000 to take it out and they make me go through a ridiculous process just to get the car. And on top of that I had to make the payments. They refused to give me the car that following morning because it was too soon. They even made me pay for all the hours the car stayed there. They are not impeccable with their word and make you believe they’re on your side when in reality they only care about the money. I suggest you think twice about working with them. Ally financed my Auto Loan in 2016. When Covid lockdowns occurred in March 2020 and continued thru June 15th here in California I was bombarded with phone call after phone call regarding payment. There was nothing I could do to stay current but never fell more than 2 payments behind. Impressive considering no income. They offered deferred payment plans placing the payment on the loans backend. Not my best option but only option since the car was almost paid off. My car is my livelihood and didn’t want it reposed.
I answered the calls, spoke to so many service reps! I was a good consumer that found them very misleading and dishonest. They never truly moved those payments to the backend as promised, How do I know? Fast forward to now July 2021. My business is re opened and I decided to check my credit score to possibly relocate and it’s ruined ruined ruined by Ally Financial showing red late payments for almost the last year. The same period during the mandatory government lockdown. I’m going to fight for us little guys, and pursue a possible lawsuit! How can I be responsible for something the government decided? Absolutely no ability to deal with issues outside of a pre-fab model. Right hand does not know what left hand is doing leading to repetitive requests. No interest in client relationships just volume. The agents are strictly following the call scripts and are not able to comprehend the mess up they created and how the bank shall step up to correct its error and compensate a client for the inconvenience and extra cost associated with the issue. I used to work for a credit counseling service, and we dealt with a lot of different loan and credit card companies on behalf of our clients. One of the hardest to deal with was GMAC. Had I known that Ally used to be GMAC, I would have found another way to pay for the HVAC. But the finance charge wasn't bad, so I went along.
Since September 2020, I've made 10 payments, and even though my bank mails the checks 10 days to 2 weeks before the due date, 7 of those 10 payments have been posted late, and I've been charged late fees. But in every single case of those late payments, the check has cleared my bank on or before the due date. They are obviously posting payments on whatever date they finally get around to posting, not the date that the payment arrived, as per Federal Law. Every time this has happened, I've contacted Ally, and they have removed the late charge, but it's a pain to have to contact them every month. I even moved the payment mailing date up by several days, and the problem persists.
Then, the June payment was posted late... again. I contacted them and was told that they just couldn't waive the late fee since I was consistently late. And even though I pointed out that as per my bank, they had cashed the check two days before the due date, I was told that I'd have to pay the late fee. I will be visiting my bank this week to see if I can get a new loan to pay off the Ally loan. At least if the loan is with my bank, I know that the payment will be posted on time and accurately.

Despite paying just about every month besides 3. I asked for an extension once because of the pandemic, but after that they were unwilling to work with me. Without my knowing they were adding up late charges for every month despite making payments. So all in all I missed 3 months but basically got charged 12 months of late fees.
Ally only cares about money and they will do anything to screw over their customers. I feel should attempt to contact lawyers because how can this even be legal. Ally is an evil shameful company. DO NOT give them their business unless you wanna pay double on your loan. 16,000 car, put 7k down payment, by the time it's all over I'll have paid twice as much to ally. Terrible customer service, my father paid his account off with Ally on February 20, 2020. He has had auto financing with Ally since December of 2015. The first week of March, he received his title and the lien was released from the vehicle. He did not receive notification that for whatever reason the payment did not go through successfully until the very end of April. Since being financed with Ally Auto, he has never missed a payment, he resides In the same home for over 12 years and has had the same cellphone number for over 20+ years. Whenever we (my father & I) call to rectify this matter, we are explaining the situation to several different CSR (which is very frustrating due to the language barrier) and ask to be transferred to a supervisor. This is ruining his excellent credit!!
I am fully aware of the fact that we (the nation) are experiencing a pandemic but let that not be an excuse for terrible customer service and not promptly returning a customer calls. Today is March 17th and I’ve spoken to two customer service representatives already, the first one transferred me to a supervisor and the call was dropped, the second one transferred me to a supervisor when I was able to leave a message because the supervisor was unavailable, which seems to be common at this company. Someone at Ally Auto Corporate if you are available please give me a call at **. I have been added to his account.

I have a medical loan. My payment is due four days before my payday, so I set up autopayments to come out on payday and paid my first payment early. Unfortunately it was before the billing cycle was out (even though it was my first payment). I am a single mother and they refused to credit it to my upcoming bill, saying that I essentially have to double pay this month because I paid too early. I have never had a financial institution treat me with such callous disregard for circumstances. They refused to move my due date to my payday and would only move my schedule for me to pay three days after payday. I am having to dispute it with my bank in order to try and get a refund, which will not process until after I have to make the next payment.
I will never do business with this bank again. I am going to attempt to refinance my loan and let another bank have my interest payments. I am just floored at the lack of compassion and customer consideration. It would be different if I hadn't already made a payment, but to refuse to take into account the money I already gave them is ridiculous.

Had to take a job making 35000 less. So been making payment but with that much of a income loss $650 a month plus other bills drains your savings. They did allow us to defer payments with extra interest at the end. So we cashed out our 401k yesterday. Today we called. They are willing to accept a repo that’s going to cost them way more instead of working with us over $5000 that they completely got in the first 2 years of interest???♀️ Oh well I guess they can come get it and I’ll file bankruptcy so their loss in the end. I am old school and prefer a statement in the mail, write out my check and mail it in the same day. For some reason, Ally can't seem to get my statement to me on time, usually receive it two days before the payment due date, which means I have to go online and make the payment. Frustrating enough to make me want to pay off the vehicle and be done with them. Tried to call three times and discovered they have outsourced their customer service department to the Philippines, which means you will reach someone who doesn't speak English and will NOT understand you. I asked for someone in the United States, and was transferred to someone in Texas. Yah! Only to be told I CANNOT PAY OFF MY AUTO LOAN WITH THEM ONLINE.
I have to get a cashier's check from my bank and mail it to them. Which means I will end up getting a statement from them for finance charges still owed for the days between when the check was mailed and when they actually deposited it. Amazing for a bank that prides itself for being completely online vs a brick and mortar bank. They will NEVER get my business again.

I sold cryptocurrency on Gemini and transferred the money to my Ally account. The cash money was in my account for two months, and the cash money in their Bank was the asset I was going to use. Their underwriting team said since the money was sourced from a cryptocurrency exchange, they are unable to use them those funds in my checking/savings account to be put towards the closing costs and/or reserves for the home loan. When I returned my lease to Ally with fewer miles than allowed, the recovery department charged me $400 to replace two tires that still had 40,000 miles left on their warranty. According to their office clerk, they sold the car with those "unsafe tires" (which in itself is illegal), the $400 tires should have cost less than $200 (obnoxious price gouging), they could have used a tire warranty had they simply contacted me, and they charged me for tires that they didn't replace simply because they could. I addressed my concerns verbally and in writing, but I was ignored and the money taken from my account without permission. This is why large corporations are creating positions for ethics officers. Ally Financial is by far, the most incompetent and frustrating company I have ever dealt with and I am in my early 50's. My son leased a car with them in May 2017, got a few payments extended due to the pandemic in 2020, then was due to turn in the vehicle or purchase it in Dec. 2020. He decided to purchase it due to the excessive overage on miles and he was behind a few payments (his fault because he forgot all about them after he had them deferred). So we contacted Ally, made two back payments so he wouldn't get repossessed, then sent them a cashier's check for over $15,000. That was Jan. 22, 2021. Still waiting for the title almost two months later. Then he just received a letter in the mail last week thanking him for turning in his leased vehicle and that they needed an odometer statement.
They are such a horrible company to communicate with. I make call after call, get put in hold for hours at a time, only to find out that the number I called wasn't the right dept or whatever the excuse so I get transferred and put on hold again. I've requested supervisors to call me back and they never do. I've given up on this company and am currently seeking legal counsel to handle this. Since I sent the $15,000 to them, I have yet to have any acknowledgment that they received it. Then they informed the dealership that we sent the money incorrectly although they were the ones who told us to do so. I feel that we have been robbed of our $15,000 and I'm just curious with this company! Do not do business with Ally Financial! You will regret every minute of it!

My Ally experience kept me up for MONTHS!! Ally seems to be the bank to give out loans to customer with less than perfect credit. When I went to get a car, I had some negative equity that no bank wanted to finance. Ally offered a loan but the terms were less than ideal; I accepted and took the car home. Just over a year later I paid the loan off for my car. (March 2020) Due to human error, my payoff check was sent to the wrong department. I immediately called Ally and told them what happened. I was assured that they "made a note in the account".
The days went by, the check was delivered but no movement, I then called Ally to ask what is going on. They stated "oh we have it but It is going to take a few days." My 10 day grace period was up and there was a late charge on my account now, I called again asking where my payoff check was. I was assured that there was a note on the account and to "wait a few more days". When nothing happened, I had that check canceled and overnighted a new one to their payment processing center. I notified Ally of the new check number and provided the new tracking number. I explained that the original check was sent to a different department by mistake and that it was canceled. Ally assured me "everything will be okay and we will not cash the old check".
Almost a month later, I finally see that the payoff check cashed. BUT it was the old check that I was promised they would make a note not to cash it. Of course that check bounced and then I get all of these calls saying I am now a month behind. I explained to multiple agents and managers what is happening. One agent called me a liar and another threatened to take my car. A week later the payoff is processed. (5 weeks after the original one was sent) I called to get the other fees waived because the original check was there in time. The customer service agent said "no problem" and about 10 days later I get the title to my car. I also receive a notarized letter stating that the loan has been paid in full and the account is closed.
Six month later I get a letter from Ally stating that they will settle on the fees and they want me to pay them now. I called immediately and asked what late fees they were referring to. "According to our records, you are over 100 days past due." I explained to them that it was not possible because I have the title, and multiple records stating that the account was been paid in full. For 2 weeks I spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this resolved. I even sent a letter to the CEO of the company with every piece of proof that I had. When I was sent to the "collections" department, I sent them copies of the title, the notarized letter stating that the account has been satisfied, and another letter saying that the account is "paid in full".
The manager of that department told me "this doesn't prove anything and you owe us the money." I went ahead and reached out to an attorney because I was getting nowhere. One attorney suggested to request a copy of every payment ever made to Ally. December 2020 I finally received a letter from an "executive customer service agent" explaining that the account has been paid in full and "we do not believe that Ally did anything illegal." So those fees that I "owed", all of sudden disappeared. Ally caused me to lose sleep and had many nightmares always worrying if I was going to lose a car I held the title to. They never admitted fault for the error but they were more than happy to try to get even more money out of me.

However it was very difficult to input the correct information. They also had a mysterious phone number listed for me. After navigating the website and unsuccessfully trying to fix things on my own I called the bank directly. It was VERY challenging to get to a real person and the rep had the same challenges as I did to correct the information on my account. He wanted to take payment (though I already submitted online but it showed as pending).
At this point I was OK with making another payment as I thought it would just go to the next month but then it was going to cost me more money because it was "going through a third party". Anyway though it was only a couple of bucks I wasn't going to pay them more money for their bad system. Then I thought it might be a good idea to document my ordeal and conversation with REP via their "contact us/ email" feature; well even that failed! Spent two afternoons trying to get simple information. Contacted through social media--no response. Tried calling Ally headquarters--phone no. does not work. Not sure any real bankers work there--sounds like a bunch of inexperienced kids. There is NO quick payments or ways to transfer your own money to your accounts at other banks. Zelle 'quick payment' takes 3 business days! Other banks transfer it immediately. That is the point of Zelle--it is for quick payments.
The Ally website is a disaster. To transfer money--go to 'Manage Linked Accounts.' Page says no links--empty--though BOA is linked. Tried to add the account, error message says it is already linked! Cannot even get through to a rep who knows why, so they always have to go get answers and usually disconnect my call during this time. Three times in a row! Ridiculously long hold times on phone. Thoroughly frustrated with this bank that holds onto your money as long as possible--probably why accounts are free. Ally is amateur hour and I would never consider 'investing' with them. The attitude is that they just don't care. This cannot be blamed on the pandemic--other banks are managing fine.

I assume I mistakenly did not change a start date and the recurring payment was taken out of my account one day after the one-time payment. Luckily I had enough money in the account to cover it, and I have enough financial resources that the mistake would not devastate me, but there was a time when it would have. Ally provided no assistance, telling me they could neither return the payment nor move it to the next month. They suggested that I call my bank to try and get the payment returned somehow and my financial institution was appalled that they suggested it as they knew it would be impossible unless the money was stolen to get a return. Needless to say, not a great first impression. I canceled the auto-pay and will never use this company again.

Never will I ever lease through this bank again or ever use them. They do nothing but steal your money and good luck trying to speak to someone who knows what they are doing. The dealership had me lease through them in May of 2017. This July 2020 I extended my lease due to covid 19 and dealerships not being open. I am also over miles so I figured that could give us some time. Which luckily I had another vehicle so this sat parked since March 2020. What they didn’t tell me which they claimed they did was my buy out from July 2020 would freeze and all my payments from then on out didn’t matter! It was a way for them to make more money on the vehicle longer. It was their fee to have the vehicle longer. They said they sent me a letter I received nothing. I nearly lost it.
I’ve been paying $289 on time each month for nothing! Then a dealership is interested and they are charging them $4000 more than my buyout! I’ve never heard of such thing and I’ve never heard when extending your lease your payments wouldn’t go towards it! I’ve leased many other vehicles and extended and never have I’ve ever had such problems like this! Their customer service is downright rude too! These people are very unhelpful as you can see in many other posts and they lie. They will not negotiate buy out price either I’ve tried! Please stay away from them at all costs! Horrible bank!
Update I was finally able to get a dealership to buy the Jeep but I had to pay $3000 to the dealership because their buyout was much higher than what the car was worth. The dealership did give me $14,000 towards their buy out which was $17,175. I’m glad that headache is gone and a lot cheaper than buying it out myself for $15,253.60 or financing that out or turning it in and getting hit with .25 mileage overage and any ding or scratch.

Buying my first car was a big deal so I researched for months, both for my car itself and for the best loan offer. My credit was not the greatest (fair) so I did the best I could to clean it up in order to qualify for a loan. I learned that buying a car at the end of a quarter, or even better at the end of the year was the best way to get great deals so that's what I did.
I decided to get pre-qualified for a loan so I took the plunge into the 'no turning back' zone that puts the credit scare into all of us and allowed loan companies to start clicking into my credit for a loan. Several companies wanted my business and the loan amounts offered to me were all within the range I was looking for. The difference was that only one company, Ally, was willing to give me the best interest rate with my 'fair' credit score, and in fact, they also allowed me 3 months deferred payments on my first month. I easily set up direct deposit and voila' I am in my new car and my payment is $20 lower per month than I was planning on spending. And, I also wanted to say that I bought my car through Carmax and am really happy with both Ally and Carmax. I would recommend them both to anyone looking to buy a car, and being the end of the year you will get your best deal yet!

I've been with them for over a year and I'm soon going to be refinancing with a new bank because of awful experiences with them. They double charged several times, getting ahold of someone is difficult, a lot of the calls break in and out and are just super confusing. They can take money directly from your account for payments, but cannot deposit money into your account when they overcharged. Instead you have to wait over a month for a check to come in the mail (of course it never comes).

When it came to automatic payments, I was able to pay off my car easily. However, this company is the least trustworthy when it comes to getting your title. I had to call multiple times to get my title. At first, they said it was sent out and would be received in 7-10 business days. After three weeks of not receiving it, I finally called and was told that I should give it another week. I call a week later and they say they will send the title to me again. Again, I wait a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I start looking at new cars and am told I need the title for it to be completed, but they would hold the car since the title was on the way.
After another week, I call again and am told that the title will be sent out, but in the meantime, they can fax the release of lien to the car dealership so they have that on file. After a few days, I receive the release of lien via FedEx. I call again to ask why they did not send the Title via Fedex. They said that they do not send things out via FedEx (WHAT?!) and that because this is a second request, the title will take 30-45 days (This was never explained the first time around). I ask to speak to a manager and they magically find out that the first Title was sent back to Ally and that they will put in to have it sent again, this time via FedEx and that I can check in on the following Monday to get a tracking number.
I follow up on Monday and they said it was not sent out yet and that they will call ME once it is with the tracking number. I do not get any phone call, so I call again, this time they say that it was sent out the day I called and that it was sent regular mail and it cannot be tracked. I am at my wits end! I already lost out on the car I was supposed to get and now they do not know which was is up! I do not have my Title. I do not know where it is, nor do I have any way of tracking where it is. The means of actually being in full possession of my car is currently in limbo because this company has no idea what they are doing! What should have been an easy transaction has turned into almost TWO MONTHS of confusion and lies!

My account was deferred by my auto policy, Ally Financial, for being laid off from my job in March due to the Pandemic. When I started working again and paying my acct, and saw that there were finance charges being accumulated. On 09/10/2020 I had contacted my auto company, Ally financial, to discuss these finance charges being accumulated and the representative I spoke with told me to keep paying my acct on time and once I make my last payment the finance charges should come off. On 11/20/2020 I spoke with a supervisor named Adrian, Ref# **, and was told by the representative someone had given me misguided information. That he sent my case to the department of higher management for the consumer service team and to allow 1-2 business days and I have yet to hear from someone unless you call.
On 11/28/2020 I spoke with Gene that said there was no status/solution in regards to my case, and sent a follow up message. Still have yet to hear from someone. On 11/30/2020 I have been on the phone for 48 mins and 38 secs. Customer service transferred me to Randy that said the only person that can help me with the finance charges is the dept of customer service. I spoke to Lisa in that department, did not know I was being transferred from another department and apologized. Then proceeded to tell me that there was nothing she could do about the finance charges and I would need to be transferred back to the customer service department who can help. To please hold on the phone until she can get someone and is unable to get someone. I told her I was highly upset for being transferred around 'cause the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing!
In the end, I told Lisa that this whole process has been very disappointed. Because of the Pandemic I am not making the money like I was making so as many other working Americans. When I was laid off Ally was nice for deferring my account. It is unfair to accumulate charges knowing how many people have been laid off. If I knew this was going to happen I would have NEVER chosen to deferred my account.

Ally Bank! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I purchased my vehicle 3yrs ago this past October. Initially, the experience was amazing! Keeping in mind that I did not speak with Ally directly. My Auto Dealer selected Ally to finance the loan. I submitted $9000.00 (down payment) of my hard earned money to Ally for an automobile that I Desired. Don’t regret it. However, what I do regret is not researching Ally or reading their reviews prior to signing the dotted line.
Pre-COVID, I submitted 100% ON TIME PAYMENTS towards my auto loan WITHOUT FAILURE. Of course, like the other 100,000,000 people in America, my finances were affected by this Global Pandemic. Again, of course I went into deferral just like the other 100,000,000 people in America. My deferral period ended July 31, 2020 (End Care Act). Me being responsible, called Ally before that period ended to touch base. After speaking with a representative from Ally, I was granted an extension because we are still in the Midst of the Pandemic and I won’t return to my JOB until December of 2020. Since then, they’ve billed my account for the last 2 months. These actions were unbeknownst to me! I started receiving text messages from Ally on October 24, 2020 stating that my account was 27 days past due??? I’m OUTRAGED at this point!
Beyond all, I’m a true professional. I called Ally to speak with them on the matter and was not only greeted with attitude, but with incompetence. I was shocked. Everyone I encountered prior to this event was very pleasant! This time around there was no empathy, no sympathy and a clear lack of understanding. How could I be granted an extension just to be told that I did not get an extension and “I don’t know why he would have told you that” we don’t do extensions? If that’s the case, why was my account 2 months delinquent instead of 3 months? Do the math. INCOMPETENCE!!!
The end resolve was to submit a request for an extension, that “they don’t do” with no follow up and no results. INCOMPETENCE!!! All for me to get a series of phone calls HARASSING ME for the money that I NEVER KNEW I owed them!!! I had to remind them that I’m awaiting a response from a request that I submitted to their Supervisor for an extension. Along the way, asking me for money the whole time. Even suggested that I borrow money from a friend or family member??? TOTALLY LUDICROUS!!! UNPROFESSIONAL ON ALL LEVELS!!! Ironically, this is the same Institution that’s currently reaching out to me to refinance the loan for my House. The level of incompetence that Ally has shown me is incomprehensible! WHY ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH would I put any more trust in Ally Bank???
Ally Bank submitted my loan to the CREDIT BUREAU as DELINQUENT and caused my CREDIT SCORE to TANK!!! I’ve NEVER been delinquent from day 1. HOW DARE THEY!!! I addressed this issue. I got disappointed again! This representative was empathetic, but never stopped asking me for money??? Even suggested that if I don’t pay I’ll be submitted to the CREDIT BUREAU again this upcoming November 27, 2020. No worries. Ally will get their money, everything that’s coming to them and more. I ALWAYS pay my bills! I’m not deserving of treatment such as this. Especially considering the fact that I’ve made 100% ON TIME PAYMENTS SINCE DAY 1. Just so happens that ONE of my SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS has OVER 25K FOLLOWERS! IMAGINE HOW MANY FOLLOWERS THEY HAVE COLLECTIVELY????
In the end, Ally will suffer a tremendous loss! Ally might have had the opportunity to refinance my Home Loan had they not treated me in such a manner. You live and you learn. What I can tell you is that I KNOW 25k PEOPLE THAT WON’T EVEN CONSIDER ASSOCIATING with Ally???? Hopefully, together we can push these numbers to ASTRONOMICAL LEVELS???? I’ll be sure to post a review on all of my SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS increasing the odds of WARNING ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND THE ENTIRE WORLD that Ally Bank is NOT THE INSTITUTION THAT YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH! Why would anybody trust them??? Ally rates one ⭐️ according to the reviews???? Read them. They’re insightful! My fault for trusting them though. Done. They’ll get just what they asked for. Their MONEY & A WHOLE LOT MORE???? BET????

I am someone who reads a lot of reviews. But don't often actually write them unless something is horrendously terrible or absolutely amazing. Unfortunately in this case - I AM SO MAD that I can barely stand it. I have been trying to transfer my lease for close to a year. It started out where I could - but then the day they received the credit app from the lessor - they changed their policy from having to of made 3 months of payments - to needing 6 months of payments as a customer.
Well fast forward 6 months (March) - covid hit. I was not able to transfer. But more than that not able to get ahold of anyone unless I sat on hold for over an hour. Each conversation the person was extremely rude, unhelpful with no information to share with me about when things would change. I finally (come October) had a gal answer and said "ma'am after 17 calls and tries, I want to get my boss to approve you getting a transfer." (I had a pay cut and had another car available to me so wanted to get rid of my car). I was granted the switch.
I found a lessor and been going through the process which was been again horrible, slow, and no one answers. I received the paperwork in the mail finally after a few weeks and it's all for the original lessor that I had from January 2020 - 10 months later - not the new lessor that had already been approved and has spent 5 hours calling Ally herself - but the old old lessor information sent out.
Currently I sit on hold and up to 1 hour 16 minutes to tell them that the wrong paperwork was sent out - I don't know what the heck the disconnect is. They have been so horrible at communication and handling and every single thing - rest assured, I will never in my life ever again get a car that has to be auto financed through Ally Financial.
What a miserable horrible company. Of all the companies I use in life - they are the ones that did not help in any way to those affected in Covid. I will continue to sit on hold for the 19th time for over an hour as I hope someone will answer. Sadly most Chrysler uses Ally which means I'll never have Jeep again. Thanks for permanently losing a customer! I am in sales myself - and have never seen such chaos and pathetic business sense in my life.

I have been banking with Ally Bank for 3 years straight. With an impeccable record not to boast of myself, just being honest. They were a decent Bank the reason I went with Ally is because of their interest rate. One thing you cannot do with Ally Bank, is deposit cash. The only option you have is the mail in a money order. My complaint is simply this with an impeccable record. Over the last 3 years with Ally Bank. I woke up this morning sat at my table with my coffee to do my bills. I open up my app to Ally Bank. It said my account is closed and Big Red letters. I was absolutely shocked. I can see my direct deposit but they closed the account. My balance was zero. I'm thinking to myself what is this, has so I called bank done to my account.
Call customer service, they looked up my account, and they couldn't see anything. All he could tell me is that my account was closed, and they were mailing me a check to my home address. Now mind you, all my bills are due. I pay my bills on time. I don't play. Thank God I keep some cash in my safe. If I would not have done this I would be in a serious bind. I asked to speak with a supervisor she comes on the phone. Trying to find the excuse of the reason why they closed my account. She couldn't come up with anything after about 25 minutes on the phone. Absolutely nothing no warning no anything. This bank is dangerous.
Don't do any online banking unless you can walk into the bank that you're dealing with. I was told a bank close my account, but they could not give me any reason. And they did this without notifying me. I have never seen this done in my 54 years on Earth. nor have I heard of it being done. If they had a zero star to give Ally Bank, that's what I would give them. I'm not angry. They are just a horrible Bank. And that noticed they claimed they mailed me the supervisor tells me. That, "Oh we didn't mail you anything." So they just close my account for no reason. It's the truth. And wrote a check for the money they owe me with some letter I have to wait to receive. So today I went to BB&T and opened me up a new account. Got everything set up.
I recommend do not bank with Ally Bank, or for that matter, any online bank. If you cannot walk into the building and conduct your business. My recommendation to you all don't touch Ally Bank. And I don't say this with any anger, or malice in my heart. It's just the truth, they're horrible, with no empathy, nor anything for the customer. Your impeccable record with Ally Bank means nothing. God bless Pastor James!

I had a lease through this company. At the end of the lease they wanted to charge me money. I called the day after I received the notice in the mail. I was told to wait for a final bill that never came. Instead, a couple of weeks later I find a new credit line opened stating I owe Ally. I call them (second call) and ask about some of the taxes they claimed I owed (I had paid taxes they charged a month before the end of my lease, so I was wondering if they just double charged me). I am given a new number to call. I call (third call) and talk to them. They tell me to call back next week. I call back (fourth call). I am given a new number to call. At this point, Ally started sending me automated calls that, when I answer, would say "please hold" for a few minutes before hanging up. Daily. I finally talk to someone in one of these calls and they just say "I see you are talking to another department. Thank you."
Well, I start talking to the third number (fifth call) and am told to call back in a week (sixth call) (I still get these spam calls non-stop while waiting the week). I call back (seventh call). She says she still doesn't have the answer and will call me back in a few days. Half a week later, someone else calls, tells me that she resolved the issue several days ago and that I need to pay then. I say whatever, tell me how to pay. Apparently I can't pay online (despite having an account set up through ally) and get transferred again. They say I can pay by credit card but while reading the "small print", they mention I might get charged for cash advance. Well, they won't give me a call back number for after I talk to the bank, so I have to call Ally back and then get transferred again (haven't done this yet, but it is what will happen; this will be the eighth call I've made to them).
So, in total, I will have received more than a dozen calls from them, talked to at least 5 departments, 8 ally reps, and spent at least a full phone call (usually 2-3) a week for 5 weeks to get this runaround. If possible, avoid getting anything financed through ally, because they will harass you while you wait for them to do their jobs. They think they can charge whatever they'd like without actually explaining what they are charging for, and they think they can just bully you by being either incompetent or purposefully difficult in to just rolling over.

First off, if I could give a zero rating, I would have. I decided to use Ally Home Loans because I do online banking with Ally.com. I was initially approved for the loan by agreeing to pay off a couple of credit cards and an auto loan. I use credit cards to make purchases and then pay off the balance each month so I had no problem agreeing to pay them off. After paying off the two credit cards and the auto loan, I uploaded all documentation to prove that these items were paid. That was not good enough for Ally Home Loans. They asked me throughout the loan process to constantly supply this information, even though it had been supplied to them weeks earlier.
Secondly, the appraisal for the property came in lower than what I was paying for the property. I spoke with a supervisor and submitted documentation as to why I thought the appraisal was incorrect. I supplied various comps to show a higher value, and even pointed out discrepancies that I found throughout the appraisal. She agreed to speak to the Appraiser and get back to me. Well, that never happened! I emailed and called numerous times and never got a call back. I eventually contacted a supervisor. I was at first given the wrong email address (wasn't that convenient). He did respond to my emails but eventually stopped. Every time I would speak to someone, they said they would call me back and never did. The loan finally closed. I work for a major corporation that has enough funds and they are holding my paycheck for 11 days why? I could see holding it for a couple days, but 11? That's absurd! I have bills to pay and this has caused me a lot of problems. Want a solution? Good luck trying to get a supervisor with answers on the telephone!!! When I finally spoke to one, she told me there was nothing she could do and that an executive account manager would contact me in 1-2 business days. 1-2 business days???? These people are not to be trusted!!!! My deposit shows approved on the app but is still not in my account! These people are playing with my money that I work hard for and I do not appreciate it!

I spoke with a man about deferring my payments for two months in May due to COVID and being out of work. He said it would be no problem. We would skip the payment for May and June and my next payment would be due July 31st. I paid my next payment in July before it was due. Then they called and said they had no record of me calling to get the payments deferred and I was two months behind. They reported it to my credit also. I will NEVER finance anything through these liars again and I will make sure no one else I know does.

I paid off my loan on August 7th with a cashier's check. Ally confirmed receipt of the payment, and told me they mailed the lien release on the same day. I told them the dealership where I traded vehicles needed a lien release right away, so they told me they would FAX a lien release to the dealership on August 12th. On August 13th, I called them and said the FAX was not received. They said they would FAX it again that afternoon. On August 17th, I told them I had not received the mailed lien release. They told me I should receive the mailed lien release by 8-28-20.
On August 22nd, I called them and let them know the FAX still had not been received. The agent said she would send the request to another department and they would FAX the lien release in 1 to 2 days. On August 26th, the Faxed lien release still had not arrived. I called Ally and they said the FAX request was currently being processed and I should receive it by 4:00 p.m. the same day. On August 27th, the FAX still had not been received. I called Ally, and they told me they needed another 1 to 2 days to process yet another FAX request. I asked to speak to someone in the Consumer Relations Department.
They told me that either on the 27th or 28th, I would be able to obtain the lien release on their website. On the 28th, I called Ally’s Consumer Relations Department again. They told me I needed to wait another 1 to 2 days before I could access the lien release. In the meantime, the mailed original still has not arrived. Every time I speak to them, they tell me they must send my request to another department, and it will take another 1 to 2 days for the request to be processed. Over and over again, I have done this, to no avail. Here I am, three weeks after paying off my loan with a cashier’s check, and still no lien release.

Before paying off our auto loan, we contacted Ally to ensure we have everything in line to quickly receive a lien release and to obtain our title as we were selling said vehicle. We spoke to them on 8/2 and paid off the loan the following day. Their website says "It could take up to 4 days to process your title/lien release if you paid with certified funds like a cashier’s check or money order. For other forms of payment, it may take up to 10 days to process." They took out the final payment on 8/3 and posted it 8/5, so clearly no further verification was needed at that point. We followed up on 8/6 as to the status of our lien release and were told we have to wait the full 10 days for our funds to be verified (even though they had been removed from our account and posted the day prior). We requested that the lien release letter be emailed to us as soon as available and continued to wait.
I followed up again on 8/17 after no updates and was then told I would get this lien release on 8/19. 8/19 came and we still had not received this letter, so my husband then called and was told that the lien release was mailed to the State and they were printing and mailing the title to us. 8/20 we received the lien release, but as we were told it was already sent to the State and in fact the title was already placed in the mail - we decided to wait for its delivery. 8/28 contacted the State and found out that not only was our title not in the mail, but that ally had never contacted them and they still showed a lien on our vehicle. We are taking matters into our own hands at this point and working with the State to release our title. I don't know what Ally has to gain by holding us hostage in this process, but it has been a headache.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. This is a 36 year old company (and still not accredited, what does that tell you?). The fact that my loan has been paid off for 23 days and they have yet to have contact the State to release their lien is very concerning, especially given the amount of contact we've had with them this past month. Also unacceptable is the amount of times we've been bold faced lied to about the status of every step in this process. We won't ever use this company again and will warn all others against it as well. We were only introduced to this company as they were the loan servicing agent which the dealership used when we purchased this vehicle. I will be contacting that dealership to suggest they find another loan servicing company, like TD Auto Finance whom I've had great customer service with in the past. Their company is only 15 years old and hold accreditation.

We started our auto load with Ally in 2014. Not too many issues. Seemed pretty easy to deal with. Until we paid it off in May of 2020. I called and spoke to someone and got the exact payoff amount. I was told at that time since Covid they were working on a “skeleton crew” and getting the title may take longer than normal. So imagine my surprise when a repo truck shows up to get it.
I called Ally with the tow company there. Give them the VIN and SSN and surprise surprise no acct can be found. Well I would hope not since “WE PAID IT OFF”. So at the recommendation of the repo company I call and ask for the collateral dept and again give the VIN and SSN. Again I was told they have no orders for repo for this vehicle. However I am staring at the driver in the face. So long story short we had to let them take it since they had orders for it, so we are left holding the bag and playing catch up on proving this cuz at this point all I have is my word and my acct showing a payment in May. I will always research a company from this point on before signing on the dotted line.

The car was traded in and rolled over payment!!!
Finally stated they took care of the issue today I get a bill in the mail for $3000 late payments not having insurance on it late fees. Why would I have insurance on a car I traded in in February? Why do I still owe payments in August when the lease was up in April? When I called them they told me just wait for the collection agency to call because now I’m in collections. My experience with Ally bank has been fine up until the point where I paid off my vehicle. I have always used electronic fund transfers to make my car loan payment. When I decided to pay off my car loan I use the same process Electronic Funds Transfer, as you know this is the quickest way to pay off any company. After making my final payment I contacted Ally bank to inquire when I would receive my title. I was told that I needed to wait a period of 10 days for the funds to clear the bank. I advised the representative I had paid via electronic fund transfer and the funds had already been removed from my account and transferred to their account so there was no need for a waiting period. Nevertheless it did take the entire 10 days before they released the title to be mailed to me.
I paid this car loan off on July 28 and did not receive confirmation via email until August 11 that my title was in the mail. In the email it stated that my title would be delivered to me via USPS and would take seven business days. Today is August 22 and I still do not have my title. I contacted Ally Bank and spoke to the representative and now was told that it would take 10 business days and I should have the title on Tuesday, August 25. I warn anybody who needs a title within a reasonable amount of time not to use this bank. There is no reason why it should take a month to receive a vehicle title after the final payment is made.

They didn't give me any time to transfer my funds, and the amount was enough that no institution would cash such a large check as they said they'd send me. They also couldn't guarantee I would even receive that check and couldn't insure my money! There's no reason they should have canceled my accounts without my permission and without warning. I asked to speak to a manager and was in hold for over an hour! I'm now left to pray that my thousands of dollars arrive in the mail in time to pay bills and before I run out of groceries. When I didn't receive the lien release I called them. I learned they do not automatically issue lien releases and it must be requested. So I requested it and was told I would receive it in 10 business days. A month later, still no document. I contacted them via chat and learned my first request was never processed. They would expedite my request and I would receive the document in my secure mail in 2 business days and it would also be mailed.
3 business days later I still didn't have it. I contacted them again via live chat and asked for a supervisor. For over 2 hours, there was no supervisor available and the woman I was speaking to couldn't do anything else. I sent them an email instead. The email response was generic and it was clear the responder did not even read my request and details.
A week later I call and am told the same thing, 2 business days. I advised her that was not acceptable, so she transferred me to the Jacksonville department. The person I spoke to then advised that the people who work the chat lines do not have the ability to request or expedite lien releases. I asked the question, "so you are telling me the people I have been speaking to via email and chat have been lying to me?" He said yes! He then gave me the whole two business days again. At this point I am 36 minutes into the call. I asked for a supervisor. I was on hold for 2 hours and 45 minute before I had to hang up to attend a meeting. Still waiting for my lien release.

They claimed the first account I used was frozen. This too was a false statement, which was proven to be a false statement via a three way call with my banking institution. I have been told they are behind because of holidays or COVID-19. While, COVID-19 does play a small role in slow downs, it doesn't play a role in the customer service and the ability to keep up with the documents you are sent. Customer service has been horrible from day one of the claim.
It really seems that no one knows what they are doing, and no one knows from department to department what they should be handling. My best advice is to RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN AND AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS COMPANY WHEN IT COMES TO GAP INSURANCE. I am not normally one to go and review a product or service, but I just don't want anyone else in the headache that I am dealing with. It is stressful to say the least. If I could give them a negative 1000 I would do it. I am paying off my loan early. The bank will not take a wire or electronic funds transfer. Instead - in the middle of a pandemic - in order to get the payoff cleared as quickly as possible, they want me to go - in person - to a bank and obtain a certified check, and then go in person to a shipper to overnight the certified check.
My only other option to pay off the loan asap is to schedule payment in full online in my account. Of course, that is the only viable option in the age of Covid. However, if I do that, this horrific bank will not “clear“ the funds for 10 full business days after I pay. This, despite the actual clearing time between banks for funds, which is 3 to 5 days. The money will be out of my account and in theirs right away, as we all know.
All because they refuse to accept a wire or Electronic transfer. In 2020. In a pandemic. Then, after forcing me to wait ten business days after I pay to have my funds “deemed cleared” - despite their having my money within a day - then, and only then, will they provide a payoff letter and clear title! Adding insult to injury, there is no customer service representative that I have spoken to, in the two years I’ve been dealing with them, who is in America. Everything is outsourced across the globe. Sometimes the accents are impossible to understand.
And in case these aren’t enough reasons to stay far away from Ally Bank, here’s another example of their unwillingness to assist in any rational way: I asked them previously how much more I should pay to pay off my loan early, ie could they give me the amounts I should pay to be done with my loan on x date vs y date. Any lender bank usually has that right on their website so you can plug in the numbers yourself. Not Ally.
So when I asked them for the amounts I needed to pay to finish early, they refused to assist. I then Googled a loan amortization site and figured it out for myself. If you want solid, understandable, rational customer service, don’t look to Ally bank to provide that. If you want to pay off your loan early, don’t look to them to help you do that efficiently either. In fact, they are the worst bank on the planet. Stay far far away if humanly possible.

Have a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid that is financed by ALLY FINANCIAL. One day on the way to work I was trying and that white smoke started coming out of the engine and the car started losing power. I had towed to Firestone and they charged $60 diagnostic fee. They said that it was antifreeze in the spark plugs and all over the engine. It said that it was electrical but they now can't get the car started. They said to tow to dealership. Then went to Kia. It was $130 basic diagnostic. Same thing. They couldn't get it started so it would be $540 for full diagnostic to get started.
I've already put out money and I don't have that kind of money to get it diagnosed and fixed. So not happy and scared I decided to do a VOLUNTARY REPO and called ALLY FINANCIAL.. I started the process all the way back in In February so I thought! They took my information and took the information of where the car was. When I called back they had nothing in this system so once again I had to start the process. So that was twice in February I called and it wasn't started. I called twice in March. To my surprise once again it wasn't started and each time I called I had to continue to start the process over. Each month I called twice.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! Then this past month believe it or not we finally got someone Cristina ** That listened. Took the information once again. She had me wait on the phone while she called kia. She got back on the phone and said yes The car has been there since January. Mind you we are At the end of May. She also told me there's an $800 storage fee. She told me she would have to call a company to come and pick it up and pay for the storage fee upfront and Ally would reimburse the company. She said they had to do it that way because of the Corona epidemic. She told me to call her back that Friday to follow up. Called her twice Friday Saturday Monday. All with an urgent message.
Today is Saturday June 13th and still have not hurt from her. So Last week I spoke to and Amber I think it was the repossession team. She said "I don't think that they're going to pick the car up". She told me to hold on for a minute when she came back she told me that it is not cost efficient for Ally to get the car. I was FLOORED! As you probably already know I had to purchase a car to back-and-forth to work. Thinking that they were going to take the car. I can't pay for it to be repaired. It's too expensive and now I can't pay for the payments because I already have a car that I can barely pay for right now.
Now she says I have to work something out with here for the storage fees and what am I supposed to do with the car that doesn't run!? We already have 2 car payments I can't make a 3rd car payment on a car I don't have - I haven't had since January that doesn't run. This whole situation has been so stressful and has stressed me out even more because dealing with this pandemic and I fiance not working because of a Very compromise immune system due to dealing with cancer over the last 10 years. So I have just had bad dealings with a lie. This should have been handled back and February. Now that I have another car I am stuck!
I knew I would Have to pay something on the remaining balance after they sold the vehicle. They just really handled everything unprofessional and now I am really screwed. I don't know how I'm going to pay this car while we have 2 other car payments. If anyone can help please let me know. I will never have another car Financed through Ally Financial ever again and I will never have my friends finance their car with them. When they want money from you it's easy to get in touch with them. But if you need anything else you can't get in touch with them because this Amber person would not give me the corporate number. She gave me P.O. Box number in Bloomington. She Kept asking me is it for a complaint? It doesn't matter. I want to speak to someone in corporate so she gave me A PO Box number. She said you have to write the letter to that address. Really shady!
I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER CAR PAYMENT! Not just because of the. It's just I don't make that kind of money. I would even have the car towed to them and they were not OK with that! They said it's not cost efficient to them. It's not cost efficient to me when I don't have the car but they still want me to make payments on it and they won't repo It! They kept calling for me to make payments in February. I had already been trying to voluntary repo it. They knew I was trying to do that apparently because if I wasn't making payments on a regular basis they would have came to repo the car! Of course I didn't make a payment for the few months that I did not have the car. Ally is very shady and unprofessional! I have had several cars and never had an AWFUL experience like I am now.

The Ally account shows my trade went through at $35, which would be great if I wasn't shorting the stock. The stock did not trade anywhere near $35 that day, nor has it in months. Ally is awful. Well, Ally Bank has not been reporting my on time payments since Dec. 2019 to June 2020. When this was mentioned in my first call to them in May, they said they are aware that reporting has not been occurring and they are working on it; they will expedite the correction. Now this is June and my second call to them, their excuse is because they are limited on staff. This is a poor business model or practice and completely unfair to the consumer. We received horrible customer service and advise anyone who has to utilize this company to refinance immediately.

This company started out ok until the vehicle was totaled. My insurance company mailed them a check to pay off vehicle, they say they never received it. Started calling and harassing me for payment, I had to explain to them that the car was totaled. I called my insurance company, they issued them another check, 5 months ago. How in the heck do you lose not one but two checks? Then there is an issue with the GAP coverage. A couple people I spoke with said that they handle all of the paperwork, one girl even saying that they were putting the GAP paperwork together as we spoke...just to find out that they do not file nor even try to help you with the claim. GAP required a payment history with a running balance, had to request from 2 different people and about a month later before I got that.
Accident occurred 11/2019...it is now 5/2020 and they still say that they have received no payment. At least they have finally quit calling and harassing me but I am worried they are sending it to collections, even though the car was 100% covered but for some reason they just won't take the check from my insurance company. I sent Ally a letter, thinking maybe someone else would look at it and possibly contact my insurance for maybe a third check, but as of this date I have not heard from them nor have my insurance. So I asked to speak to someone within the states. Still the same runaround.
I was told that I need to get the title myself, but of course it costs me to do this, as my title is in another state. So I called the other state and they told me that Ally has to request my title. I have been back and forth with the incompetents working for Ally and am now ready to seek legal counsel. I even talked to a very rude and argumentative woman in Ally’s title department. I purchased my vehicle about 2.5 years ago, being financed through Ally. At the beginning it was frustrating because there was no option to make a principal only payment. In the last 6 months or so, they began offering a principal only payment option. However when you select this option and make your payment, they still deduct interest out of the payment.
I called them about it and they said that interest is accumulated on a daily basis and even though I select principal only, I am required to pay the interest. I told them that is not how principal only payments work and they refused to change it. Essentially they still do not have a principal only payment option and it prolongs your loan with them. My next scheduled payment is not due until Jan 2021 yet I have no options to pay down the principal even though I am that far ahead. It makes no sense at all. I have never had this experience with any other bank.

So decided on to do that I am on worker comp disability for a year now and it is barely half of what I made before I was injured so money is tight. They had a Customer Service Specialist call me March 31st and told me that yes hold are placed but they like every single other bank in the world can let some funds be available until the check clears. That if I do decide to deposit just call the support line and let them know of this conversation. Well 04/24/2020 comes around and I give them a shot. Biggest mistake ever!!
Wait about 4 hours after the deposit and call and explain the whole thing to be told by the supervisor, "Nope. Can't do anything. You have to wait until Tuesday." Total of 4 days until I can go buy food or cleaning supplies or protective equipment. It is Sunday 04/26/2020. Still have not eaten and have been calling ALLY non stop. Finally get the back office specialist who are the people that can release the hold and they say, "No you are not going to eat till Tuesday." I tell them, "Well I have no choice but to transfer my savings and my investments into my other bank so I can go get food." They say, "No. That will not help your case" and go and completely block me out of my accounts so I cannot transfer any money out. Then they hung up. I keep trying and just told the same no.
Now they are trying to say that the check from the my job's insurance company which I have been collecting for over a year now was flagged as fraud. Even though my other bank for the last year has had no such issue. This is just inhumane and shows why Ally stock is rising while others fall. SHADY BUSINESS lock people out so they won't transfer money to eat or buy medicine or cleaning supplies or protective equipment during a virus pandemic is just crazy. Ally's system was being repaired, so the online portal was down (it's usually correct). The dealership was told $667. In actuality the balance was almost $3,000, they had deducted my deductible and my mileage from the amount I still had to pay (which is not my remaining payments as asked), then they send me a bill for $1,200 which should have actually only been $600, because the other amount should have come from my deductible.
The customer service agent was rude, the supervisor never came to the telephone, and I was told that I had to call a different number to speak with someone (my dealership was on the telephone, they initiated the call to help me get some resolve), which I never received. I did however receive a $3 check from them for fees. I would have just kept my vehicle and paid the 4 months and owed only $600 for fees. Now I'm out of $1,200. Purchased a Ford SUV in 2016. Originally went to bank after calling and being pre approved through Capital One for anything up to $30,000. Was at dealership for over 10 hours as they went back and forth saying Capital One would not approve the loan for the SUV I wanted which they originally stated was $17,500, but they had a bank that would. Long story short I was so tired by the time it came to signing I really did not pay attention to want I was signing. They talked about their 3 insurance policies, one for dents and door dings, one for tire and wheel and the last was Gap...Well don't ever do that.
They do not tell you that they add the full costs of those policies to your loan balance and provide no real detailed info on them but they are worthless mainly because they do not cover pre existing so getting them on a used vehicle is ridiculous. I did not receive the policies until about 2 months later and that's when I discovered the in depth, they only cover up to 100,000 miles. My SUV already had 83,000 miles on it. Called and tried to cancel, was transferred 4 times then told to take it back to dealership where I bought it, because the amounts were not fully refundable. (I never used the insurance and was working 2 jobs so pretty impossible to get back to the dealership, so I got stuck with them.
On the third month the front brakes went out, insurance bought would not cover it so had to pay 583.00 out of pocket 5 month alternator went out, not covered paid 1800.00 to replace, 8 month fuel injector system went out over 2000.00 to fix it 13 month computer chip failed, almost 4000.00 I ended up being completely underwater in debt over repairs and by the end of 2017 I lost my job. Ally would not work with me on payments, so I told them I wanted to turn it back in voluntarily. They said fine but they would have to pick it up. I was not allowed to drive it to them. So now I began almost another year of them saying they were picking it up then they would call a few days later and accuse me of hiding the vehicle and set up another time to pick it up....This went on for months then they stopped calling altogether.
Well in 2019, my son filed bankruptcy, he was the co owner, this is when he discovers that Ally had filed a lawsuit almost 5 months prior to recover the vehicle but the address that they gave the courts for us, was not our address, had never been our address and the address they gave had never been associated with our loan. The address they gave them was to a house that no one had lived at for years. I was so mad, that I contacted the courts and a few days later I received a notice from the courts that their attorney had dropped the case, they still did not pick up the vehicle.
A few weeks later my daughter was pulled over and taken to jail and the vehicle was impounded. I called Ally and told them where it was, confirming my address again. They were forced to get it out of impound. But it doesn't end there. I have not even received one notice in the the mail about their intents to sell, my rights to cure the debt...absolutely nothing. But they report every two weeks or so on my credit reports about the repo and showing the full balance of the loan in default. I don't even know whether they sold it or not, but calling them is worthless I can not get any clear information, I just get transferred from dept to dept until I get tired and hang up. Do yourself a favor, just say no and walk out the door. This company is absolutely ridiculous to deal with!

I assumed/transferred a lease from an individual through Ally Bank. Payments were automated and all went well until I started calling on the end of lease process. Ally was very disorganized re: the end of lease process. I made several phone calls to understand how/where to drop the vehicle at lease end and if I needed to extend the lease for 30-90 days what the process would be. Somewhere in this process, Ally changed their computer systems and the process became even more complicated. The payment for the extension increased by $150 over the regular lease amount. This was never mentioned that the payment amount would change at all. I was told that the lease could be extended for 30-90 days and the vehicle could be dropped off anytime during that period. I would just need to call them with what dealership received the vehicle.
After extending the lease for up to 90 days, the vehicle was returned to the original dealer 30 days into the extension. Ally was called and I provided (email and fax) the odometer statement. After the lease vehicle was turned in, I was told that I was responsible for the vehicle until the vehicle was sold in an auction, even though I did not have possession of the vehicle. It took 7 weeks for the vehicle to be inspected. First inspection was incomplete, but no one could tell me why and they had no idea why the inspection was not rescheduled. My call prompted the 2nd and complete inspection. The letter that I received 2 months after the car was turned in said that the car had been driven by a smoker (I have never smoked and no one that ever drove the car, when I had it smoked). The letter also said only one remote key was turned in; we returned both to the dealer.
Finally the letter said that I owed over $1600 because I wanted the extension for 90 days even though every person that I spoke with said to turn it in anytime during that period. I am compiling a call record and numbers of Ally Bank reps that I have spoken with. In the 2 months prior to lease end and the 4 months after lease end, I have called 10 different departments at Ally and made over 30 phone calls. Policies have been random and like no other leasing contract we have worked with. The majority of staff have been polite but uninformed and rarely give complete or have access to correct information. I just got off a 4.75 hour chat to be in the same place I was 30 days ago. I’m adding this to the hours of calls and chat over the last 45 days or so. I was in an accident on January 27th and was finally able to get a Letter of Guarantee from them on February 25th even though my insurance company had been requesting the letter since February 8th. My insurance company sent the payment via overnight mail and it was received on February 27th.
Since Ally was not posting the payoff check on March 1st I paid a payment so I wouldn’t get a late payment on my credit. The check was acknowledged on March 3rd and then a late payment was assessed. After numerous hours trying to get an answer about getting a letter stating the truck was paid off I got the 10 business day line. It was longer than that before it showed in my account as paid but then there was the matter of the late fee. Keep in mind I have overpaid and am due a $553 refund at this point. I was told it would be 1-2 business days and all would be good. Now it shows a late fee $20 less than it did before and when I try to pay it, just so I can get this off my credit and get another truck, Ally cancels it. Tried that a few times and Ally cancels.
I am now 60 days after the accident and 30 days since Ally received payment and still no one can tell me why I can’t pay the payment or why they don’t take it out of the $553 overage. I was told the late fee will be waived now, to wait another 1-2 days and all will be great. Throughout this I have requested calls numerous times, including today, and have yet to receive one. The Loan was easy to get and I had no problems in the 3.5 years I had the loan but trying to get the loan closed out has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a bank. I am 60 after an accident and cannot purchase another truck until this loan shows paid. I will never use Ally again and my suggestion is to look elsewhere if you need to finance a vehicle.

Called to inquire about the process of doing a co-signer release for a vehicle- was given 10 different answers as to how to go about the process by people who barely speak English. Finally received the correct information after about the 11th attempt to acquire some clarity. Had all the documents ready to submit- called to confirm the fax number to send them to, “Oh you have to mail those.” Spoke to another person, “Ok here’s the fax number to send those to.”
Called the next day to confirm reception of the documents, “Here try this fax number instead. By the way, our department is back logged; we probably won’t review your application for one to two weeks.” They reviewed the application within a few days and denied the transfer. Mind you, the person we were trying to transfer to has prime credit with no history of missed payments, low debt and a good income. Thank you Ally financial for your excellent customer service! What a joke...

Our experience with Ally Homeloan has been terrible. We did the application online for a refinance, which was easy. Received a good rate and locked it. Paid $550 for the deposit and uploaded all documentation. Very confident in the process based on our very high income. When the loan was conditionally approved, the loan closing costs changed and tripled without our approval to go ahead with the process. At this point because of high closing costs, nonexistent customer support (4 days trying to get someone on the phone, and received only an email) we decided to not continue the refinance with them, and started the refinance with another company with the same terms but lower closing costs and no surprises.
Once we stopped we asked Ally for the $550 deposit back, which was denied. Not only we dealt with nonexistent customer support, but we also were defrauded by Ally for $550, for an appraisal that was never done and was never given to us. Shame on this company, I will also close the savings account I have with them. Cannot trust a fraud company.

We have been going through financial hardship for few years more in past few months than ever. I try to ask them to move the late payment to the end of the loan so we could be current on the payment and save our credit rating. Each time I was denied. Other creditors like Capital One or Tidewater Finance were so nice to do that and when the virus touched all of us they even postponed payments and gave us 0 rate for a month but the money hungry and profit only oriented Ally Bank has turned their back therefore I would highly NOT RECOMMEND for any one to do businesses with them. In the time when we are all in trouble we need banks that will help us go forward not care about their profit because all we wanted to pay was 9% instead 12% so save your money and have a better experience with a different bank at this point.

I would not advise going through this company for refinancing your vehicle. They are not willing to work with you should anything happen to your vehicle. They auto draft without your authorization. My vehicle totaled and I had to purchase a new vehicle or lose my job. I was unable to wrap in what was remaining on my Ally loan.
I called numerous times trying to make arrangements to pay the remaining loan, but in smaller payments since I couldn't afford two car loans. They refused to work with me. They would rather get nothing and ruin my credit than work with me. Then they auto drafted my account after I had been guaranteed the auto draft was canceled. When I called about it they said I had only made a request and it was denied. I wanted to pay what I owed, but they refused to accept anything less than the contracted amount. No cooperation what so ever. All or nothing. What a horrible way to do business. I've been purchasing and financing vehicles for 20 years and I would never recommend this company. I only gave them 1 star in order to leave this review. I had to close my bank account just to prevent them from continuing to auto draft from it. I wish I had gone through a different company.

This company is a joke. I traded my vehicle back in December 2019. Pay off reflected my account January 22, then Ally reversed that payoff in March. I have spoken to 27 representatives who have either escalated this to be corrected, or found a resolution and stated it would reflect on my account 1 to 2 business days later. I am STILL fighting for answers and no one can give them. The one lady I spoke with reached out to the accounting department who stated it was an error on their end from their system update or whatever, and that the issue would be corrected and payoff would be reapplied and my account would reflect in a few days. Still no reflection and it’s been weeks now.
Now it has reached a “higher department”. JT has no idea what’s going on with the account (even though I have attached all conversations and documents to my account) and can’t help with more than “I’m working on it”. I have been harassed with phone calls and letters in the mail for a payment for a vehicle that has been paid off since January.

Re-financed in 2018 with Ally Bank. The process online and phone was great with all personnel with the application for loan. They paid off Bank of America and their other loan company immediately within 20 days. The process then went to Ally's Loan processing in Colorado, other than the NEW person handling the loan, didn't know how to process a Trust, everything was PERFECT! The new person, had to give the Trust I faxed to them, don't have text ability and told them that several times, his supervisor took the trust and in 1 day it was processed. Once thru the Loan Process, they ordered Appraisal on home here in Calif. Man and his son came and did thorough investigation. Home appraised at much more than thought it would. Funded. All done in 30 days.
My NEW LOAN is with Ally: their financial institute that takes the payments is SLS out of Colorado. Superb company I have dealt with before. I pay under $900 mo. for 15 yr loan. and can call and raise how much more I want to pay on principal anytime. SLS is a great company. Thanks to ALLY I got rid of B of A and their horrid company they sold the loan to no notice to me, was in BK! -

Up until this my experience with Ally was good. I paid my loan off early and have waited 13 calendar days and/or 10 business days to get the lien release document and still no document. The customer service lady Ice has been trying to help but nothing and I double checked on the website and it says 10 days not 10 business days. Beware anyone that thinks this is a quick turn around. Very frustrated because I have a buyer for the car who is growing impatient for the completely unnecessary delay. Ridiculous and very disappointing.

I will not be coming back AT ALL.. And get with me total loss department cause I know ya reading. A manager or something 'cause my issue is not complete.

Can anyone help and point me in the right direction, I got my car in 2013 and and in 2018 I was one day late on payment so they repoed my car in the middle of the night. I was told if I didn't get my car within 5 days I would be charged for them to make a key. I picked it up two days after repo. They tried to charge me 162$ for a new key, it's now 2020. I had two payments left and they repoed my car again because I never paid the 162$. In order to get it back I had to pay the 162$ plus my last two payments plus repo fees.
I went the next day and paid everything in full. My account even shows a zero balance. A few days later I got a letter stating I owed 162$ and they are holding my title until it's paid. But that's the reason they just repoed and I paid everything in full. Now they're holding my title hostage until I pay more which I already paid. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get help with this as I paid everything in full and refuse to pay any more than I have to. I just want my title. I been paying on it since 2013 and now enough is enough. Please help...

I have major issues with Ally Auto Loans. First, my car note date is for the 28th of each month. I went to the website to pay my 1st car payment on the 28th. Once there, it tells me my car note was due on the 27th. So I had no choice but to pay the $17 late fee. After I made my payment, I set up the account for auto pay for future payments. Today, I go to purchase something at the store and my card was declined. My bank showed 2 car payments taken out!! When I called Ally, I had to speak with a non English speaking woman who only repeated that I made a payment on the 28th and set up auto pay on the 28th. She could not get past any other explanations except that the computer shows that I set made a payment and set up auto pay. I asked to speak with someone else.
A customer care manager came on the line, non English speaking again, and said the same things the first person said. The only thing he could offer was that I contact my bank and ask them to not honor that 2nd payment. My bank cannot do that! How do you set up auto pay for future payments 1. after the car payment that is due is paid manually and 2. take out 2 payments in one day??? I am floored that the reason he gave me in not being able to take off that 2nd payment was that because I paid online, he cannot change anything. I am beyond confused by this whole situation!

If you value competent customer service do not choose Ally Financial Bank for your car loan needs. The customer service line takes forever to get through to speak to a live person. It does not matter the time of day be prepared to wait a long time. When you do finally make it to a live person you will then be disappointed that none of the service reps speak fluent English. So you will get to explain your issue multiple times and end the call still not knowing the answer to your question. The worst customer service EVER! Ally needs to stop outsourcing its customer service. Just sold my car so I am feeling grateful today was the last day I will ever have to endure dealing with this company!!!!

I recently had a Total Loss of our vehicle that we financed through Ally Bank. Our Insurance company took less than a week to process our claim and send Ally a $30,000 check. After 3 weeks Ally Bank has not posted the payment and I cannot even get Ally to tell me when they will post my payment. It is almost impossible to speak with an Actual Ally Employee, Ally bank uses offshore call centers with agents that cannot help. I have called, emailed and used Ally's chat trying to contact someone that can help, but No one at Ally can get my payment posted or tell me when the payment will post. I have asked for a call back from a supervisor, and I have not received a call after 3 days of waiting. I am 57 years old and I have used many different banks for auto financing, Ally bank has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Do not use Ally Bank for any auto financing!!!!

I logged into my account today and see a past due payment. I was completely baffled by this as I had Autopay. Since December 2017 my Autopay has come out of my checking each month. I used the chat and became frustrated as they wanted to charge me a late charge. I finally got an answer that they did an upgrade to their system in January and my Autopay must have been deleted. They then told me they would ask a manager to forego my late charge. I explained in no uncertain terms that I had no intention of paying a late charge for something they caused. I went ahead and made a payment to bring me up to date and requested someone call me so I can discuss the problem.

I have owned various cars and dealt with many banking institutions that finance autos (due to my husband being a car enthusiast) and have never experienced the unprofessionalism. Since the conception of the transfer of the lease, Ally has been unorganized and has given conflicting answers to both the applicant and I. We understand now why multiple car manufacturers/dealerships are steering away from Ally and going a different route for Auto Financing.
Due to me being pregnant, it was unrealistic for me to keep my Aston Martin DB11. I have someone taking over my lease with the swap a lease option. After waiting a month for Ally to eventually get their system up and running correctly (due to a system upgrade in Jan 2020). I then get another delay that the one person in charge of submitting the application information into their system in had the flu, and there would be an additional delay. Finally, after a month of waiting, I got the great news from the applicant that he got approved, and they would be sending the proper documentation out for both parties to sign. I always trust but verify, so I took it upon myself to call Ally right away. I was given the same news and also got detailed information from the representative that both packages would go out individually.
Both the applicant and I are incredibly busy business owners and do not have the time to waste. Dealing with Ally took a tremendous amount of time out of our lives and lost money due to having to call and get updates consistently. Something we could not have our assistance do. We are proactive and get things done expeditiously. I got another vehicle based on the basis that Ally let us know the applicant got approved. The applicant moved forward on getting the insurance for the car as well. We both delayed and accommodated our month of February to be available for the transfer of lease so we could both be present and get the documents notarized, be present to get the vehicle registered under the new applicant's name.
Surprisingly now Ally is saying we were given wrong information from the representative Neidra. I requested to speak with the supervisor who was unavailable at the time. I let the representative Neidra know I was demanding that the supervisor listens to the recorded audios of them, providing us the information that the applicant had gotten approved. I let her know I had to rearrange my day based on having to call the Jacksonville office who handles the transfer of the lease, and I needed a call back as soon as possible.
John **, the supervisor, of course, didn't call me back. When we called him he said he needed more time to review the information, that at the moment he did not have it all accessible. The applicant and I demanded time and that it be corrected, and we needed answers based on Supervisor John; he had said the end of day 2/6/2020 he would have an answer. Then he changed his response to he would need by the end of day 2/6 to 2/7 again another delay and change of stories. I encourage everyone not to use Ally. I will give an update on the outcome.

So I get my bill this month, February the amount due is $0. I call up to ask why, they say, "Your next bill is in March," not even what I asked. I said, "You did not answer my question, why is my bill $0?" She said, "You must have paid February," I replied, "No I did not, I literally just got the bill, plus I'm looking online on my bank, and Ally there is no record of payment, what should I do?" She replied, "You can either make it or not, it's up to you." HUH? So I asked, "Will I get a late fee if I don't pay it," she replied, "There's no late fees on here that I see," again not even what I asked. Anyways, I paid it. Just fyi, doesn't look like Ally has their head on straight, and I have a savings account through them, I'm gonna have to rethink that.

My car lease is through them (not by choice because that's what the dealer had at time of lease).
2. If on auto pay they keep collecting payments and because the account options are deleted there is no way to cancel payments.
3. Customer service is abysmal: called several times but was told constantly they are busy and can't take calls.
4. After 2 days finally talked to customer (dis)service. Was told to contact my Bank and put a stop on the payment. Why should I call my bank when Ally can cancel the payment with one click?
5. They told me they will keep the extra payment after the car is returned and after "Sold at Auction" I get my refund. This was never part of my lease agreement and I never signed anything on this. This is extortion and illegal.
Ally customer service believes "we the customers are here to provide a service to them." This business practice is predatory, extortionist, and simply illegal. I will absolutely stay away from Ally for my next car.

I wanted to put $250k into an Ally Savings Account. I don't owe anyone money. "Your credit score doesn't meet our standards." Well, Ally Bank totally sucks. Ally bank is condescending, rude, and nasty. They wasted my time with their stupid rules.
