They tell you that no matter how small or long ago your record is, any charges no matter how insignificant or not pertaining to any jobs they offer (which were little to none) that these would not bar you from employment that they are an equal opportunity employer. Well they lied! I had some low level charge from 20 years ago that I explained to them prior to the background check and they told me it was so long ago and so low level it wouldn't affect my employment. But as soon as the check came back I was denied even a second look or an opportunity to explain. I wasn't even given anything in writing nor the courtesy of a phone call. 1 in every 4 Americans have some encounter with the law per the Labor statistics, my charge isn't even illegal anymore but they denied me anyways. This company misrepresents as an equal opportunity employer and lies about not discriminating for prior charges. It violates the FCRA as well which I will be looking into.
I do not recommend Robert Half Accountants. They are extremely unprofessional and disingenuous, especially recruiters Lauren and Kyle in the Wash/Balt area offices. They con you into going on long distance interviews by saying they are increasing the hourly rate. Then within an hour of you calling the recruiter to let them know how the interview went, they call you back and tell you that you have the job with specific start date. When you don't hear from them prior to the start date that they gave you and you start calling or emailing them, they don't respond or if you get them on the phone they will continue to lie and say you still have the job, give you a new start date and then make up bogus excuses about the delays. They will tell you all kinds of lies to prevent you from talking with other recruiters and employers.
I declined several offers to interview for other opportunities because Robert Half Accountemps continued to lie for the next 4 weeks reassuring me that I had the job and giving me new start dates, before admitting their client had selected another candidate! DO NOT TRUST THEM about anything unless you get it in writing! They are nothing but scammers and con-artists!
Terrible. I applied to a few of their listings, never got any replies. Also applied through their website to have them help with the recruiting aspect also no reply. Finally called them and was transferred to voicemail... Don't waste your time with these clowns.
I don't recommend Robert Half to anyone looking for employment. They are unprofessional, young and I wouldn't waste my time ever again with them. Had problem with nobody responding to my emails about reimbursements they owed me. They don't care about your needs as a person. Punks is what I would say if the name Robert half comes up. THE WORST TEMP AGENCY EVER.
In hopes of finding a good office position, I reached out to Robert Half (office team). At first they seemed very welcoming and registered me quite quickly into their database. This happened a year ago and I still have not been able to find an opportunity through them. HOWEVER, what really surprises me is that there are so many positions being posted daily which match my skill set and when I call and try to discuss those positions, no one is ever available. I don’t understand if they have meetings ALL Day EVERY day but that is practically impossible. I have called at different times, different days - nothing works!
A receptionist answers the phone and puts you on a wait and that is about the most interaction I’ve been getting from them. No one listens to their voicemails either apparently. I have attempted to call at least 3 times every day and still no hope. I also updated my resume and sent it their way - no response. I would not recommend Robert Half/office team to anyone looking for an actual career. They do not invest time in their clients, they do not follow up and they never answer their phones.
Robert Half and their associated temp agency, Accountemps, aren't really trying to find people to fill jobs. What they actually do is get a wad of recent resumes in the file, then go to employers and tell them about the 200 resumes they got last week, in an attempt to get the employer to let them fill a position. Accountemps and Robert Half are simply wanting a huge pool of recent applications to draw from in case they do get an actual contract for a placement. In essence, they play an ugly numbers game, trying to convince employers that they have thousands of talented people in their rolodex, just waiting for the employer to sing an application.
Any ad you see is for a job that is already filled, or the "job" never existed at all. I remember a couple of years ago, I saw one of their ads for a seasonal tax person; I met or exceeded literally every stated qualification, including experience using the specific tax software. I applied, went in for their bogus interview, only to be told that the particular position had already been filled. Now, mind you, when I called them the afternoon preceding the day of the interview, I directly and specifically asked if (a) the position was still open, and (b) the employer was still open to considering new candidates for the position who might come in tomorrow to do the initial interview. The interviewer got mad when I called her a liar at the end of the interview. That all went down in early January. The SAME ad was still on their website in April.
My past and present experience with Robert Half has always been a successful one. Chloe ** has been professional, friendly and has kept me updated at every opportunity. All of the staff I have come into contact with from the Bristol office have been friendly, helpful and professional.
Updated on 07/31/2018: The manager Esme finally called me today after almost two weeks and that was only because I posted a negative review directly with their complaints team. She said she was a bit surprised about my review. I told her that I was surprised that she was surprised. She clearly said she would call me back and email a copy of the profile. She claims she emailed me. I told her I never received it and that she failed to call me back. She had the nerve to tell me that I am no longer being considered for the position. I thought that was hilarious. I said, “I didn’t think I would be since I filed a complaint."
Original review: I do not recommend This agency. I had an in person interview with Esme. She claims she was sent to the Chicago office to help boost business. Esme said that they were looking to hire experienced employees full time permanent and send them out on assignments where needed. She said that when you are in between jobs the company would continue to pay your salary until they can find other you positions. She told me the manager position was up to 75K but I would need to first complete a job profile. I was told I had until Sunday to complete it. Well I never received the email.
I called and they claimed she was out of the office. She called me and apologized and said she would call me and send the email with profile template and instructions. Guess what I never received the email. I call several times and left voicemails because they claim to always be in meetings. I see why this office is not performing like the others. They have dishonest people running it.
I concur with the other reviews, "don't waste your time". I have called about 7 times now and when I call in the morning they are in a meeting and when I call in the afternoon (after 1 pm) they are at lunch. Left 4 voice mails and an e-mail directly to a rep and NO reply or callbacks. Who's running this company anyway? Hope you've had better luck than the rest of us. God bless.
A guy name Gary ** blacklisted me for another job at RHMR by posing that he was helping me when he indeed was hindering me. Apparently Gary is too clueless to understand he committed a crime in Colorado, criminal and civil. And as many other reviews here, same old revolving door and meaningless meetings with their vanishing staff. This clown should be fired and I have emails and call logs to prove he tampered with my ability to gain employment. John ** too. So, do not waste your time with Robert Half! I will be letting every finance and accounting professional know about these individuals and how I would stay away from Robert Half, forever!
CO Rev Stat § 8-2-110 (2016): No corporation, company, or individual shall blacklist, or publish, or cause to be blacklisted or published any employee, mechanic, or laborer discharged by such corporation, company, or individual, with the intent and for the purpose of preventing such employee, mechanic, or laborer from engaging in or securing similar or other employment from any other corporation, company, or individual.
I had an interview @ 10 a.m. I went in, signed a form, added my references and was moved to the next room. I waited 40 minutes for the interviewer to arrive. He even stated during the process that he needed to answer his phone because his wife was calling. I have seen several positions posted for this company as I receive alerts. I contacted the office 4 times via phone call and 3 times via email and have not received a response at all. Please people don't waste your time. I wonder. Do they hold out positions for their families and friends?
First time working with Robert Half staffing. They was promising then they put me with a company called Innovel Solutions which is located in Romeoville IL. I only been there for 5 days and they was already starting to lie. And it was a lot of favoritism in the office also including an office snitch. Her name was Tracy **. She kept running the employees away. When someone snitched on her she lied about it. She doesn't like ** people and half of the office is filled with ** people. The supervisors and managers aren't professional. They curse a lot and also they would lie to the staffing agency Robert Half just to get you fired. Innovel Solutions and Robert Half staffing agency is a terrible place to work. Don't even waste your time with them.
I sent my resume to OfficeTeam and they responded to me within a day. I initially had an interview over Skype to register with them and then the next day they sent me some skills testing to complete - Microsoft Office and a typing speed test. I was interviewed by Laura ** - she is the Division Director. I was put out to work on temporary assignments immediately and, as I had just moved to Canada from Ireland, I was delighted with how fast they were to place me out to work and also how friendly and helpful Laura was. She always has a smile on her face and a great attitude. Even when I was placed on my assignment, she made sure I got my first paycheck the following week with no delay and I had her direct phone number to contact if I had any issues.
I recommended OfficeTeam and Robert Half in general to all of my friends and they had similarly positive experiences. Highly recommend registering with them for temporary or even contract/permanent positions too as they are so well connected in the Downtown Toronto area (and the GTA) and have some amazing clients. 10/10 candidate experience IMHO.
I was contacted for an interview. I quickly accepted and went into the office as soon as I could. I was early. I get there, I meet with staffing manager, she states that it'll take a couple of days for me to be placed. I completed onboarding paperwork, then nothing. I emailed her to follow up after a week with no answer. A recruiter from Park Ave office called and left no voicemail. I wish I didn't waste my time with this company. They obviously don't care for people. I wasted time and money commuting to them. Never again.
Every time I try to go through this agency the people never get back with me. They make it so hard to get a job and I do not think it is for **. I really think they save the jobs for their family. You are a freaking temp agency. I have went in and the clothing most people wear these days are not interview clothing. You apply, they call, send you these stupid assessment and then you never hear from them. And you call and they give you a script, "Oh you didn't score high enough." But Brandy ** told me that all they wanted to see if I knew anything about the computer. She said the scoring didn't matter. I am not satisfied. I think this company is fraudulent.
Being over qualified for most of the positions temp or perm...these folks are just lazy and unprofessional. They do not return calls; and do not investigate clients.... Hell they sent me out on a spot where I felt I was asking potential buyers to commit fraud....but I guess the hourly amount was more important than the ethics of the business.
I’ve worked with quite a few recruiters in the Philadelphia area, and Robert Half/The Creative Group is by far the worst. Being overqualified for positions and hearing nothing, an online system that is ancient and completely lacking, and myriad recruiters who never answer messages and never record a thing about you because every time you do eventually get a hold of them, they need to re-question you about everything. To be clear, this isn’t a negative review based on not landing a position. Many recruiters fall short in that regard, but The Creative Group is so inept in all forms of service, I assume they are staffed with those who used their service and realized it must be the easiest, non-responsibility job out there.
I recommend completely avoiding Robert Half Legal. In my experience working with these recruiters, specifically Tatianna **, they do not care about their candidates. Tatianna doesn't hear you nor listen. On about ten of our interactions, I noticed she would ask me questions I had already responded to but wouldn't answer nor address my questions or concerns. I have never worked with someone who cares so little about the person she is talking to. Avoid working with her because she's not really going to be any help to you. It'll be a very frustrating experience and you'll wish you hadn't given her the benefit of the doubt.
After seeing a RH posting for a job in my area, I interviewed via Skype with a personable recruiter and emailed my resume. Their office did not run into a lot of C-level administrative opportunities in my area, but that was fine - agencies are just one leg of job hunts I conduct on my own, regardless. Yet, except for submitting me to a company I was told was not interested in me (the posting for which I originally contacted RH) -- I was never submitted by RH to any other company. I got 2 calls in the next couple of weeks from other staff for positions not a fit for me or my resume (They did email a link to some free online training refreshers for MS Office, etc).
Fast forward 4 months later. I saw a job RH posted that was in my area and looked like an great match. I immediately emailed a short but detailed message to my recruiter. No reply after 4 days. No reply to my follow up phone call and voice mail. I called a 2nd time, and reached a different recruiter, who said my old recruiter was in the same office but had moved to the accounting side of the biz. No excuse offered as to why the old recruiter could not have still replied to me, regardless - or at least pass me on to someone who might help. Very poor, unprofessional communication. The new guy further said that the opportunity I was interested in, didn't exist anymore; his explanation was deliberately very vague and clearly, discussing it was verboten.
I expressed my concern for the lack of communication to my messages; the new guy "promised" he'd have another RH office reach out asap, as they might have opportunities near my area. He assured me that someone would be in touch that week. Three weeks later - nothing. Now I no longer care. Nobody I dealt with at RH was rude or unfriendly. But there is no excuse for a lack of courteous, professional communication. I'm not a newbie to such agencies and have worked through a few decent ones, with no problems. Others were a waste of my time, and RH turned out to be one of those. I'm also glad I read these other reviews, as it appears I've dodged a bullet in not working through them. I do not recommend Robert Half.
This Chick is rude as hell. I got emails to prove it. She lies and she confuses potential candidates. Craziest experience ever. She is making Robert Half look real bad as a Company. Heather **. Recruiter - Robert Half Healthcare Practice. Los Angeles, CA | roberthalf.com/healthcare-staffing. T: **.
They've become a joke. I worked successfully with them from 2016 until 2018, when everything changed. They were no longer returning calls or emails. I wasted my time setting up a profile and resume on their RHI website, to receive no followup afterward. Called the local office about it and one of the staff told me 'nothing was going on' in spite me pointing out several current openings I had qualified for. Evidently the lazy recruiters didn't bother removing those ads, or lied about the dates. Later, another recruiter emailed me about a full-time position and I answered that I was interested, and then nothing. That's the game they play. Wasting your time sending you daily or weekly mass emails about phony Hot Jobs they claim they need filling and then ignoring your calls and emails. I finally had to Spam them so I no longer receive their junk.
I have worked with many agencies in 25 years of business. As a matter of fact 90 percent of my workforce is from temp to perm from agencies. Decided to give this firm a try. Extremely unprofessional, sent unqualified candidates and very rude with emails and transpiring from start to finish. They forget I am the client. Reported to management and same experience. I was hoping they would know better. AVOID this firm at all costs... If you look at reviews they are very bad. I am not alone!!!
I started working with Robert Half in late 2018, with a signed contract. I was in the office and met the staffing manager and all seemed promising. Of course, they cannot guarantee you will get hired but they do promise to work on your behalf to find employment. By March 2019, I had not once received a call or email from them. I actively searched their website and emailed my resume as required to the various contact names listed in the job posting. No responses. No one in this office picks up their phone if you call - all calls are screened. I would never recommend them for job seekers, it's a waste of time. My emails go unanswered and the one time I called and finally got through to someone, she REFUSED to put my name in the candidate field for a job that matched exactly what I had done previously. Job seekers beware! Find another agency and don't bother with this one. All talk and no action.
They push you to accept temporary contracts with promises of at least 3-6 months, and then it ends abruptly within a month. Completely unprofessional, Communication is non-existent when your contract is over. Never Again!!!
Temp to perm role would have actually been better to actually get hired by the assignment company SPS gives their clients a really expensive fee to hire them full time. This obviously is unknown to the employee who works the position and they are lied to saying that they expect to be hired within 6 months. And after 1.5 years luckily found full time employment elsewhere. Positive aspect is that they provide you with the connection to the position and company. Great experience to add new skills and industries to your resume. Allows you to get hired elsewhere even though your intent is to get hired by the company you temp for. (Why is it even considered temp when companies take full advantage by not needing a reason to fire them as you will be consistently at risk).
The benefits are a joke better off taking the hire rate as the Benny’s add sickly expensive really reducing your net pay. They lie to you and make it near impossible for the client to afford to hire you before 2 years. At least with contract to hire you have a better chance as the company will know your end date and the hiring fee is reduced and written in the contract. They really kept me from getting an offer for full time employment due to their astronomical prices to hire you full time, but if you find the right niche industry/company to work for it’s worth the 1.5 year “apprenticeship” to have the client train you to use these skills elsewhere.
Robert Half literally ignored me once I put my notice of resignation in and was so unprofessional on phone trying to solicit information about the job I accepted, company I’ll be working for and salary. Absolutely absurd. They never once reached out to me for my 1 year anniversary and there was not an annual review. I had to reach out to them 13 months in to have them give me a lousy $1/hr raise which the 5% I was told is never given (because they wouldn’t have giving me anything if I haven’t spoken up. I found this to be total greed and lack of care for the SPS employee. They dangle the carrot in front of your face telling you everything to be patient as the client really wants to hire you.
In my opinion after 1 year and no offer means your taken advantage of these temp workers giving RH no reason to treat you like a meaningful part of any team. Your just $ a number to them to make sure to keep you temp so the payments keep coming in. I still cannot believe they didn’t even offer an exit interview and they completely ignored my resignation email. Wow
I approached Robert Half both in New York City and Chicago. I am a legal records specialist with 14 years of solid corporate law and private firm experience in a wide assortment of fields. In short, their reps could not seem to understand what strengths were on offer, nor what their clients required. Over a 3 year period of associating with Robert Half, they were only able to land me 3 weeks of temporary work. 3 weeks.
Aside from this, they enticed me with a number of fictitious positions, so obviously invented as to be laughable. -- But since I'm not one to burn bridges, I approached them one last time in their Chicago office. Lots of paperwork, tests on Word/Excel using an interface so old you couldn't even recognize the icons, all the while speaking to people who had not a single clue what corporate legal teams do (and this was Robert Half LEGAL, mind you), all the while listening to their phony talk about what great things they had in mind for me.
At the close of the interview they informed me that I would have to submit to not one but two drug testing procedures in two different locations of the city. And this from a firm still had no assignment for me, and that commonly refuses to answer your follow-up calls. They never found me any appreciable work, are ignorant of corporate law procedure, and behave in a most unprofessional manner towards their vetted candidates. I asked them to never contact me again. Did they listen? Why no.
I have never had such a bad experience with how unprofessional this recruiting team is. From false promises to endless paperwork... I am an educated and experienced professional that was informed of specific jobs available. I followed up and was eager to learn more. Instead of telling me that I wasn’t qualified for the position, or that it wasn’t available, or for any reason the position wouldn’t be a fit... which would have been the right thing to do, they led me on with false promises. Then completely ignored any phone call or email I would send it then as a follow up on my part. A simple “We don’t have anything for you at this time, we will keep your resume on file” would have been just fine. Horrible horrible professionalism. Do not go through them, it’s all about money and their bottom line. FYI - I never write reviews for anything, my experience with them was that repulsive.
They will have you fill out their paperwork time and time again. Perhaps send you a link to one or two jobs. Which you will apply for, because that's why you're there! You will then never hear from them again. And once you've gotten fed up with waiting, you will call back and they will pretend they don't know you and want you to fill out their paperwork once more. This cycle repeats thusly. Never in all my days have I been so irritated by incompetence as I am with Robert Half. It really is a miracle that they stay in business.
My company used Robert Half back in 2016. The talent they sent was to be frank short of talent. This temp employee did more damage to the company than any of the worst employees we have had since its inception. After having ended this relationship more than a year ago, the company persits to contact me. I have on record, more than 20 times now (Repetitiously) told its representative to delete my information COMPLETELY from their directory. Yet, it never fails, I am still constantly harassed by them trying to push their candidates on us. Get the hint, Jack, we are not interested!
Recently used RHL for a clerk/assistant position. The employee they placed with my firm was completely incompetent and reckless to say the least. This individual spelled our firm name wrong on numerous notices sent to opposing counsel and also on multiple occasions sent the wrong attachment and case file to the wrong party thereby breaching confidentiality. The straw that broke the camel's back was when this individual called in and processed their own payroll with Paychex. They were paid hourly and accordingly without approval or notice decided to call Paychex and pay themselves on the first of the month. This was not customary or normal in the form and the issue with Paychex is something I'm dealing with separately. Shocking to say the least. NEVER AGAIN will I use Robert Half Legal and they wanted me to pay them 10K to hire them temp permanently. What a joke! I'd given them zero stars if I could.
I have worked for Robert Half for years off and on. My experience used to be much better with them. I relocated and needed to keep steady work. My work experience is over the top excellent. I contacted Robert Half, which I had worked with in another state. The jobs they gave me were all low paying. I found out, because I always said yes and needed to keep working, they were giving me the low paying jobs instead of higher paying jobs I actually qualified for. I was getting the ones less desperate people turned down for higher paying jobs. Even though they knew I was in trouble with my rent, etc. over and over, they gave me the riff raff extremely low paying jobs. Once I told them I can now only take higher paying jobs, there was no response to my email. I guess they felt they lost their fall guy.
Before I begin my review I'd just like to second all of the negative reviews about RH on this site, as sadly those reviews resonate with my experience using RH. I am a fresh accounting graduate. I decided not to do public accounting as it was not the right fit for me at all, so I figured I would go corporate. I lack the accounting work experience for most entry level corporate jobs in my area, so I struggled finding accounting jobs to apply to. Except on RH, where most of the jobs on RH's website seemed to fit my level- recent accounting grad looking for work. I applied to three jobs on RH's website where I felt I met the qualifications. I now suspect that those 3 jobs I applied to where false because when RH contacted me back no reference was made to those three jobs at all by the recruiters. Not even to say that those jobs were already filled.
After I applied to those three jobs on their website, I get a phone call from a RH recruiter approximately two weeks later after I applied. She calls at 10:15 in the morning saying she'd like to conduct an interview via FaceTime at 1:00 the same afternoon. I agree to the FaceTime interview, and the RH recruiter says she'll email me some skills tests to take, preferably before the interview. I agree to take those tests, so I take the tests and secure a quiet area where I can have the interview. The recruiter called me at 1:00 for the interview, which was more about finding out my qualifications than anything else. The skills tests never come up. I give them my desired pay and geographic area. The recruiter agrees that my desired pay and geographic area reasonable, and she assures me that she'll be "by my side" for the whole process.
After she says that though she passes me off to another recruiter, who I will call recruiter x. Recruiter x says she can get me working this week, and I express interest. Recruiter x tells me about the position, and says she'll arrange for a phone interview with the client for the next morning at 9:30 AM. Recruiter X will call back "as soon as she can" with more information, so I "need to keep my phone close." I keep my phone close for about 3 hours, and recruiter x finally calls back confirming my phone interview with the client at 9:30 the next morning. I am not supposed to bring up my accounting degree or even mention the word accounting at all during the client interview. I got a bad feeling, like I was being played, but I agreed not to mention anything accounting in the client interview.
After I finish the client interview I am supposed to call recruiter x back ASAP. Well when I have the phone interview with the client I am asked about why I chose accounting as my degree. I'm kind of confused about why the client is asking me this, but I give an answer that seems to satisfy the client. I got the impression that the client was desperate to fill the job, and after the client interview I call recruiter x like I am supposed with the goal of backing out of the job. Except recruiter x isn't at her desk and I have to go through the receptionist to leave a voicemail. Recruiter x gets back chides me for bringing up my accounting degree (even though the client ASKED me about it)! She then assures me that it's OK that I don't want the job after I tell that I don't want it, and she says she'll call me back as soon as can she can with another job.
Two hours later recruiter x calls with a job that isn't in my desired geographic area... so where did paying attention to my needs go? Where did the recruiter who is "supposed to be by my side" anyway? I'm confused and when I express hesitation at this new job recruiter x has, she gets confrontational and rude with me launching into a rant about how expressing some hesitation is bad and not appropriate. She then says that temping may not be good for me, and that she looks forward to me calling her back tomorrow with my answer as to if temping is good for me or not. After that call I'm stunned, hurt, and really upset. I don't know what to make of the situation. I consider my bridge burned with RH and move on trying to look for other opportunities.
A week after the recruiter x issues, the recruiter who was supposed to "be by my side" calls me with a potential job around 8:30 AM. I express mild interest and the recruiter says she'll call the client right after she's done with me and that she'll get back to me ASAP. I wait for about two hours with no response. I don't hear back until 2:15 PM and this time she tries to push a job on that me that is in a different location than the job mentioned in the 8:30 AM call. I tell the recruiter that I'm not interested and that I am currently pursuing other opportunities external to RH (which is true). The recruiter says she'll take me off the RH system, and we both verbally agree that if nothing pans out I'll come back to RH in a few months (this was in August).
Well less than 24 hours after that I get a "Summer Check In" email. The following day when running errands I get a phone call, but I'm driving and I can't get to my phone. When I park at my next destination I see a RH recruiter has left me a phone call, a voicemail, and a text all within one minute of each other. A little desperate much? The next week I get contacted by a pushy RH recruiter who tries to push a perm position on me (that I am not qualified for), which ended up being a waste of my time.
Starting in late September I now receive duplicate emails full of grammatical errors from RH every other week. I don't believe these jobs are real because often times the words are just changed around from a prior email I got. Here's the bottom line: If you choose to work with RH prepare to be given a runaround, deal with disorganization, and treated like dirt. Just don't waste your time. Find an employer that treats you with respect, even if it takes many months. You're better off looking on your own than using RH.
I called Robert Half in Westwood, CA about my needs for a job in the software field. I was told to send my resume and that the recruiter would call me back. After four days I had not received a call back so I called the recruiter and asked that he call me back. I waited a week and called again. This time the receptionist recognized my voice and was rude and condescending acting bothered to do her job by transferring me to the recruiter. Again, I got a voicemail and left another message asking that the recruiter return my call.
I never got a callback after another week, so I called and asked to speak to the manager. I was told that there was not a manager to speak to. Coincidentally, the recruiter called me back. He said he would let me know if he saw anything that I qualified for. I never got any referrals from Robert Half during my two month job search. I found places to apply and got interviews on my own. I found a job without any response or help from them. Don't waste your time with this company. The recruiters are lazy.
I went the Akron/Canton, OH office twice. I was hesitant the second time because I had a few bad experiences with that location along with a few others. However, against my better judgement I went anyway. I explained to the recruiter my past experience, (never getting a callback, feedback or return email). She assured me this wouldn't happen with her and that she keep me in the loop. She even had the nerve to bring up a comment her pastor had made in church the previous Sunday to assure me. I never heard a word from her.
I realized that the majority of their listings are fake. They copy and paste ads from company websites and from job boards into their site. They cold call the company with your resume as a way into the company. If they don't get in, you never hear from them again. RH is very unprofessional and careless. I am a supervisor and often in the position where I need to hire staff. I would never use Robert Half knowing their tactics. Obviously they aren't sharp enough to realize they are shooting themselves in their own foot.
I had a face-to-face interview with them. They had sent me an email confirming the meeting details. When I arrived there on the given time, I was made to wait for 20-25 minutes and then a very junior employee of this company came to chit-chat with me. Later, the Senior Manager who was supposed to meet me arrived and interacted with me for less than 5 minutes. He was in a rush. It was awful. Later this manager promised me to provide the feedback after sharing my resume with one of their clients within a week (being it positive or negative). I tried calling them several times but he never returned my calls or replied to the emails. Please don't waste your time.
I had a phone interview with them. They are ridiculously terrible, awful. They couldn't care less about you. They just want to get their commission, or quota to fill that job. You initially hear from one recruiter, then another, and another, just giving you the runaround. Please don't waste your time. I don't know how this agency stayed in business this long. They are a joke.
Robert Half is the most unprofessional, laissez-faire, bunch of incompetent people I have ever had the displeasure of working with. I got a call back in February because I had decided I wanted to go back to California. They told me I had to be living in that area. One problem: Why do people move to a place like California? Because they have jobs, right? Does the word "Relocate" mean anything to Robert Half? No, it apparently doesn't. Like I said, I can't afford the rents, but that meant nothing to Robert Half.
Whatever you do, DON'T EVER question their fake arguments. Oh my God, don't. I told them that I had every intention of relocating with my mother and I got told that I had to have the place first (because it's easy to afford rents when you have about $100 a month to live on after rent in Nevada, cell phone bill and paying for your storage area, right?)
Go on an array of different boards and you'll see dozens of complaints about the day-to-day operations (the ones on Indeed are particularly virulent) and you'll find out that Robert Half is totally faking it. They get positive reviews from the 5-10% of people they actually care enough about to try to get a job for. The other 90-95% are left to die. The people in Ontario had me go through 14 different recruiters (yes really), one of which levied multiple criticisms against me including, wait for it that it would have been better if I had lost weight (this is illegal in California), and all-in-all, trying to work for this company is like that State Farm guy dangling a job in front of you then saying "Oh, you gotta be quicker than that! You almost had it!"
I started with the Robert Half Tucson office mid January of 2018. I was surprised with lack of professionalism shown by the Tucson office over and over again. From stating a salary level that I should be able to make with not one single job in that parameter. I had to settle for a position that was $40,000 less than what we talked about. The Tucson office did a very poor job communicating any new leads or other jobs outside of public accounting I might be qualified for. I even took my complaint to their corporate office in California and all I got was a lot of lip service. I would never recommend Robert Half to anyone who is looking for a recruiter as they did a very poor job representing me. I still look back at all my saved e-mails and laugh at the lack of follow through!
I originally worked for Robert Half as a data migration technician back in 2003. Me and another individual from Ohio worked together to migrate some 200 laptops for Citizens Bank. We completed the project on time and I received no complaints about how I dealt with the customer or my job performance that I am aware of. I also worked on another small project that involved connecting a server. I did this job on my own and although I made some mistakes, I realized it before I left the site and corrected them.
Over the past few years, I have sent about a dozen resumes for jobs I have seen posted by Robert Half. I never received a single response. I have now sent a dozen or so messages to their customer service "robot" asking if I have been blacklisted for some reason given the total lack of response by any of their recruiters. The only response I get is an invitation to have my resume critiqued.
I sent my resume and nobody responded. I tried twice to contact one of their recruiters out of their Paramus, NJ office about a Field Service position with one of their clients in Parsippany. I left a voicemail this morning that went un-returned. I called again at 11 this morning and was told he was in a meeting. If they're ignoring me, which obviously, they ARE!!! I would appreciate it if they would just tell me. Is it something I did or said? It's frustrating enough trying to find a job without being totally ignored by a headhunter who makes money by submitting you to their clients.
Working with the Akron/Canton offices started out great. I was a fresh graduate and needed help getting my first accounting job. I am a people person, and interview well, I just lack the work experience so far. They helped get me an interview at a place that ended up becoming my first accounting job. The boss who interviewed me loved me and told the accountant recruiter that they were excited to hire me.
After starting, making friends with as many people as I could at my new workplace, and working hard to become an asset to the company sooner, my boss came to me and complimented me profusely. I was told I am working hard, and quickly, and about how months down the line I'll learn this and that, and month ending stuff. My boss would tell the RH recruiter how much they are looking forward to hiring me on as a full time employee and not just a temp anymore.
My boss finishes complimenting me, I say I'll continue to work hard, and I get back to my work. Ten minutes later my boss returns, says my services are no longer required. I ask why and was told I don't need to know, it comes from higher up. I am escorted out, call my recruiter, and they tell me they just heard and are in talks with them about it. I later find out the job lied about me, saying I was demeaning and rude. RH recruiters say they must believe them over me, even though the recruiter who has been the liaison has been told by my boss at that job how wonderful I am, during the interview and on the job.
A week passes and I reach out, wondering if they will continue looking for a job for me. They assure me they will. Akron office contacts me, asks if I want to be a recruiter. I say I am more interested in being an accountant but I will listen and consider it. I wait for more information, or an interview, but nothing ever comes from that again. I am contacted by another for a Skype interview. After hours of waiting I get an email saying they had computer problems and if we could try tomorrow. I say tomorrow is great, anywhere between 10 AM-12 PM. I get no reply and wait from 10-12. I email them asking if they had more computer issues or if the time was bad for them. No response.
The last straw came when I was emailed by a Canton office recruiter for great accounting jobs I was really looking for. The issue is they were addressed to someone else. My name/email starts with a J. This persons name starts with a J and it was addressed to them. I reply and ask if the name entry or email entry was an accident, and that I would appreciate my resume being forwarded to these job opportunities which is what I've been promised when I signed up for RH. I attached my resume, which they asked me to do (or asked the other person to do), and have heard nothing from them. It seems to me they have ghosted me, are treating me poorly, and are accidentally sending me jobs I want but addressed to someone else. If it were just one person acting this way, one outlier, I could cope. This is multiple recruiters from multiple offices.
I've used Robert Half for ten or so years, both for temporary and permanent positions. I've always felt listened to and even if not placed by them, felt I could always go back for other placements.
They are extremely unhelpful, unprofessional and desperate. After a few ups and downs and thanks to Robert Half being disorganised I finally started a temp role which was below my level of experience. I then started applying for permanent roles that's more my level. The chap from Robert Half Southampton gave me a 30 min lecture on how I should stay at this temp role and pretty much how it's no point applying for the role I wanted to apply for. Two days after he phoned and emailed me on other opportunities?!! So he lectures me about not leaving the current role I was in then emailed me with other opportunities. He has not stopped hassling me for weeks and weeks now. Phone call upon phone call. Clogging up my inbox.
I've not worked for the company where I was a temp for 3 weeks now and he's still hassling me with regards to a timesheet there?? Does he not know I've left especially getting a replacement temp. I blocked his number and just had two phone calls from a mobile number and then two emails from two different people from this agency to call them urgently. I'm absolutely livid and wish I could complain to the CEO of this company. Just awful.
I have noticed that no one from SC has posted a review. I was interviewed via Skype by a Robert Half recruiter in Charleston, SC. It may had been two weeks when I got a call from RH to go to an in person interview with a company that is in the same town I live in. Which is about 20 minutes outside of Charleston. I didn't think they were going to have anything close to me so I was delighted when it worked out that they had a company here looking for someone. I went to the interview. I was told by the recruiter that I should know something by the next day and I did. They offered the position to me. I started working there through Robert Half in February of 2018 and the company hired me in April. It is a great company with sick leave, vacation days, 401K, insurance etc. Not to mention, they pay very well. I do go in at 6:30 in the mornings and don't get off until 5 or 6 but they don't mind paying the overtime and I am happy to accept it.
I would not have been able to work for such an employer had it not been for Robert Half. They got me in the door, I proved my worth and I got a permanent job. I am very appreciative to Robert Half and the staff at Faber Place in Charleston. I hope this review helps someone considering Robert Half in Charleston, SC as their agency.
I have worked temp with the company for over a year on at least three assignments of about three months each. It is not like the old days where a temp job could turn into full time. The interview and background check and interview was relatively painless but I feel like I must have as part of the process reviewed over 200 pages of online docs. I give them a total score of 20% simply because while the recruiters were relatively positive, I ran into problems with the timesheet, payroll and working conditions. On each job I was temping for an outsource agency like WL or DTI, within a law firm setting, but amazingly each position I ran into in my opinion an overall lack of training or software and at one place hostile and abrasive work environment. Sometimes a temp is given less than adequate training perhaps because they think you will only be there a few days, but such denial of training works against the smooth work output.
RH of course is just concerned with getting paid and could care less about working conditions but nevertheless, someone in this picture has a legal responsibility to assure a work environment free from harassment and discrimination. Training on each position I would put at 40% simply due to either lack of training, confusing communications, lack of software, or hostile work environment. To me lack of training creates a hostile work environment. Numerous times I had to fight to get the timesheet software to work and at least one time I was not paid on the regularly scheduled payday even though I turned in my time sheet a week before. I did have to threaten to file a labor complaint. Communications, teamwork, and accuracy was sorely lacking at all positions, I further give a low review when questions about work procedures are ignored.
At all positions I did the best I could but I felt hampered because they gave me limited duties or I did not get good training. One last thing: it seems agencies like to communicate by email and cellphone, which I may have little choice in the hiring process. But once you are on the assignment, I feel the RH should be able to communicate work issues like duties and payroll to you at the work site (client) and on their equipment; using your own time or personal cellphone means you should get paid for that time; one recruiter who placed me at a site said he did not know how to get in touch with me other than my personal email, but of course he had access to the work site email and phone. If I am placed on a site and have to use my own phone and my own time, and cannot use company equipment, then I should get paid for that time and my cellphone.
If I could give them no stars I would. They act like they are going to help you in the beginning but nothing ever comes of it. I was told to sit back, relax and they find you a job but you get no calls, no leads, or followups. It's a good thing I didn't listen to them and ended up finding a job on my own. It has been 6 months since I submitted my information to them to assist me in finding a job, and nothing. When I followed up with them they ignored emails and never got back to you. I feel like they are just there to collect a paycheck and forgetting just how important their Jobs are. I guess they feel once they have a job it doesn't matter who else around them doesn't have a job. Which defeats the whole purpose of their job. Do not use them and if you do keep looking for jobs on your own.
I heard good things about OfficeTeam from a friend so I thought I would try it. The staff was incredibly unhelpful. It took weeks to get even one job offer. I would have to constantly contact Office Team to get anything going and without me pestering them they would do nothing. In two months they managed to secure me two interviews. I managed to find a permanent position paying more than their temp to hire jobs would pay before they even bothered to call me with a third possibility. I said that I would still be interested in other positions, but have never heard back from them. Additionally having to do go through grueling interviews and waiting weeks for an extremely low paying temp job seems a bit out there. It takes more work than just going straight to a permanent position.
I just want to second all the negative reviews about Robert Half. Robert Half is a big chain --- think Appleby's of Temp agencies --- everything is centralized, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. My experience was with the Burlington, MA office. Incredibly rude and unprofessional people. They send emails filled with job listings screaming for you to respond quickly and tell everyone you know... yada, yada, yada... then they don't answer the phone... or act annoyed that you called... or the person whose name is on the email is nowhere to be found and no one else can help you. Everyone in the office goes to lunch at the same time. It's all smoke and mirrors. There are no jobs here... it's all an Orwellian illusion.
I was going to sign up with RH to assist me in my current career search. I'm under the impression they post jobs that they are representing just to get your CV on file when there are actually no jobs available. You then take time off work to meet with them, shake their hand and never hear back from them. I was also advised that if I sign up with another recruitment firm they will drop my file. In my opinion, if you see a job posting by RH there is probably a 10% chance they have a company that is looking for a candidate and a 90% chance RH is just trying to stockpile resumes. Be cautious! Lastly, Robert Half, in the future if I am in a position to employ a headhunting company your group will never be considered.
I have been working, and I use the term loosely with Robert Half Dallas (Downtown branch) for about 3 weeks now. I originally only had a short window of time before I would be unemployed and was candid about this from the start with both Amber and later Morgan. Originally they did not have anything suiting my criteria but after about 10 days called me regarding a position as an Admin near me for immediate hire with the salary I was seeking. Their client wanted to first speak to me during a phone interview, THEN meet me in person for an Admin position. A bit much don't you think? Anyway I obliged and when the initial phone conversation was supposed to take place the owner of the company called me to say that he was SO BUSY he had to reschedule for the next day and couldn't take only a few mere minutes to speak with me.
I agreed and we were scheduled for a phone interview for the following day. So I sat there at the designated time. And waited. And waited. He never called. After 15 minutes past, I called my recruiter, Amber (before she passed me off to Morgan) and let her know he never called me. She apologized for him and said she'd contact him. Another 15 minutes go by at this point and he's already 30 minutes late for the phone interview. He graced me with my call 30 minutes after the fact with some insincere apology that sounded more like a justification and said he was so glad my recruiter sent him an email because "time got away from him". I'm glad my time is so valuable to everyone. And an email? You were too inconsiderate to even pick up the phone and say call her for the phone interview? Wow you guys are just phenomenal at what you do.
The business owner and I proceed and FINALLY conduct the interview (I'd also just like to point out, isn't the entire point of a staffing agency to place you in a position NOT make you interview as if it's a direct hire?!). The phone interview proceeds for an unreal 45 minutes where he even tries to get information as to my recommendations for where he should source his potential candidates from and even repeatedly refers to people from his ZipRecruiter ad as "garbage". After giving a notable interview I knew I had the position. I had researched the company beforehand, made notes about specific questions he may answer and gave thorough and direct answers. He tells me he'll contact the agency that afternoon and let them know his thoughts. The recruiter finally calls me back and I can tell although it wasn't obvious from her tone that he chose to pursue someone else.
I asked her why and the only answer she could give me is he wanted someone who was more "aggressive" for the position that I'm frankly overqualified for. About another week passes and I get a call from another office in Irving from Shelby. Shelby informs me there is a position in Irving starting immediately that is exactly what I'm looking for, but they want me to come IN PERSON to interview for a 3 month contract position. (Again, aren't they supposed to place me?!) I told her I would be there. Prior to the interview I researched the company, brought a notepad with my notes and questions to ask to appear as though I was actually interested in the company and arrived 5 minutes early. Once the interview began it was not a one-on-one typical interview, no, no, no it was 3 INTERVIEWERS. One they claimed was the manager, one was "observing" and the other I'm not quite sure what she did.
Again I nailed the interview and they solidified my thinking when they made comments such as "good answer" "I like that question", etc. I walked out feeling very confident and called Brittney (who I was passed off to from Shelby at the Irving office). She sounded mildly enthused and said I would know something by the following afternoon. Of course they never called me so I had to call Shelby and get an answer from her myself. All she would tell me is they went with someone else they gave her very little information and she'd call me if she found something but the way she said it sounded more demeaning and like a blow off than anything. I was sick of this and decided to call back both Amber and Morgan to see what was going on. Both AVOIDED my calls! I called one of them twice leaving one voicemail and even emailed asking her to call me.
They never did. So now in 3 weeks I've been on 2 interviews, wasted time, gas and with nothing to show for it with them. Luckily I didn't fully trust them to find me something so I have been applying before, during and after my Robert Half experience. I will find something soon but I can guarantee you this it sure as hell isn't because of them!
I worked for Robert Half for close to two years as a contractor paralegal and/or legal assistant and never to get hired as a full-time employee. They always used me as a temp. The last assignment they sent me on was for an attorney in Family Law. She was extremely difficult to work for and the assistant's place I was taking was leaving because of her attitude and said she was awful to work for. I was there for only a week and was told not to come back because I was unprofessional. At the same time, the Recruiter that I was working with Robert Half was fired. I had no idea what was going on.
They never had any contact with me. I called, emailed and text and finally I got an email from the new Recruiter that said they would no longer be needing my services. I did absolutely nothing wrong and had always remained professional at every position. I told her do not defame my character or try and make it out that it had anything to do with me. Robert Half at the point is not worth your time. You are better off finding a position on your own. They are the worst!
Extremely rude, arrogant and they talk to you as if you are an imbecile that "needs" them. Seems like I am not the only one here that felt this way. Two recruiters approached me within couple of weeks. They did not care if you are working or whether you can talk freely. Their time is more important than yours. Plus they talked as if they are doing a favor by talking to me. I make far more than most of those recruiters there yet I was talked down as if I am nobody. They have no intention of working with you or working for you. They do not have your best interest at heart. They want you at their disposal like robots who won't complain or challenge them in any way. Seriously being the leader in consulting, I expected better from them!
They insist on you signing a contract even before telling you anything about the opportunity, the pay involved or the commute, benefits, etc. I chose not to sign and they basically shut me down. I quote "I’m reluctant to take an hour of unpaid work to interview you if you’re this unsure." "Unpaid work???" I wasn't unsure - I didn't agree with terms! There is a difference but bullies don't understand that, do they? I will not work with them. If I am ever in a position to hire (which will happen in near future) I will not hire them.
When I signed up with OfficeTeam, things went well for a while. I signed up with the Westwood office and got a few temporary long term jobs, although I didn't like dealing with Sheena **. But I moved to the valley and wanted to work in the area so I signed up with the Woodland Hills office. I dealt with Sabrina **. She offered me jobs that were like fantasy jobs with travel and great pay - jobs that seemed way above my skill level but being very hungry for a job I said yes to them all, to absolute no avail. I never got a call back or a follow through to any of the jobs that were offered. I thought it was very shoddy of them to do that.
I was contacted by Soojin **, a recruiter of RH (Philadelphia, PA). She was extremely aggressive, rude, and disorganized. I was caught off guard when she called me again about a 1-5 job, for 12.00/hr. She again harassed me about my resume, my work experience, and other petty issues. I called back to speak to a manager, and was put through to Jonea **, who it turns out is a lawyer. I don't want to go into a lot of detail, as I am planning a legal action, but she is horrible, and has no people skills. Do not do business with this company. They are deceptive, and treat people like dirt.
I went into work the other day only to find out that my contract had “expired”. Apparently someone from office team was supposed to reach out to me last week to let me know. I got zero notice and because this is a temp agency apparently I have no legal rights when it comes to getting severance or notice.
I signed up with them last year and was only called once for a inventory job for a clothing store. It was for 4 hrs. I had called them many times and was given the runaround. That's only if someone answer the phone. Most of the time I had to leave a message on a recording. No one called me back. The funny thing is I would see jobs listed on other sites from Robert Half (Office Team) needing clients to fill clerk positions which I am overqualified to do. I am retired and over 50 and ** so it could be ageism or racism or both. Not happy with the way I was treated.
The recruiters are very push and wants you to take the first job that you're offered. If you don't take the offer then they tend to back off a little and I wouldn't hear from them as often. I would email them to check in for jobs and they wouldn't email back. It gets very unprofessional on their side. When I didn't hear back after a few emails I would call the recruiter and she would speak to me as if I was her child (very rude). So I emailed her manager Kevin and the manager above him. After talking to him I thought he was going to help. He told me to contact him direct and he will work with me. So I did and he's never emailed or called me back. Super unprofessional... Very disappointing at Jacksonville office.
RH basically ruined my life! I was happy at my old job! This so call "Vice President/Account Operations of Toronto" call me pushing me to quit my job for a better opportunity! Ya I have to admit I believe in her!!! Big mistake! I follow her direction and quit my job to go work for a hell place of discrimination. After my third days at this new job suppose to be so great place, I had to quit that job! I got so sick, pulling over the Highway to vomit! I call that so call Vice President RH to inform the situation! Her respond was "ya I was aware how rude that company was!!!" First time I hear this!! She said, "You should never quit!" No one trained me. Left me there and I did not know how the system work, I was called bad name, discriminate, bully, been call stupid! I never experience a situation like that in my life!!!
RH care only for themself $$$ they don't do any investigating. She never call me back or try to replace my job. It's been 5 months now and I am still unemployed! I am about to lose my house. I email, call them and nothing in returned! Shame on you! I know it's my fault, I decide to quit my old job to go work for RH new position. However HOW DARE you telling people to quit your happy job and go for a better opportunity that you didn't take time to look at the office and lie to me!! I believe in Karma and I do wish to see you when it will hit you as much as damage you did to me and my family! STAY AWAY FROM ROBERT HALF!
I am so disappointed with a specific recruiter at Accountemps. I've had problems with them in the past, and I was so hesitant in using their service again. Once again, they abruptly ended my assignment without giving me any kind of feedback with my services to their clients. I do not understand why places like Accountemps would abruptly end assignments. Most of the time, clients would be the one to tell you that they are ending your assignments. The client has trusted me with the drawer keys, and when I returned the key the next morning, my recruiter got upset with me. She said that I did not follow her instructions to not go back to the location.
Apparently, she wanted to meet me privately. When I told another recruiter that I wish I would be given feedback after every assignment, she started accusing me of sending clients vendors with proprietary information, and that was supposed to be the client's feedback. Accountemps are not very professional people. You would go at their client's location the last minute, you will not get any kinds of training, but they expect me to train someone when you get to the job location. This particular person would yell at you like you work for them, when they actually work for us. I would never ever use Accountemps again.
My experience with Robert Half was very awful and unprofessional. I was verbally abused at the assignment they sent me to and when I reported it, they let me go. The supervisor told me I had to wear makeup and jewelry and wear a cardigan to cover myself when I was not wearing anything unprofessional. I took a picture of myself and a picture of the supervisor (who was wearing see through leggings). I have never been treated like that before and I don't want anybody to experience what I went through. They acted as if I was unprofessional and I have been in the professional field and I have a lot of experience. I am happy I am a paralegal now at a law firm that respects me as a woman.
I had bad experiences every time recruiters call me for job opportunities. First, I got phone interview and that went well. After that, the recruiter wanted to interview me over Skype which I provide my Skype ID through email. He never call me or send me an email. Don't bother getting job from this scam company. All they do is collect personal information and job history. They will waste your time.
My problem with this company is that they will call you three times in a row and not leave a message. When you call back there is no way to get a hold of the person that is calling or find out who it was. Very unprofessional, stay away.
I left a my position through Robert Half with Prime Therapeutics due to a death in my family. I took some time away and moved out of state to help my family recuperate after such a loss for my family. When I returned I called Robert Half and applied on Robert Half's website to seek employment. I've called the location in Irving on Decker Ct speaking to Diane, Brittney, and Amber and the location in Fort Worth on Summit Ave speaking to Yvonne, Matthew, and Priscilla. I left several voicemails and the recruiters (Brittney, Amber, Matthew and Priscilla) never returned my voicemail. When I say "never" I'm not over exaggerating. None of the 4 recruiters I just mentioned ever returned my voicemail. I had to call them several times in a day to get ahold of them after already leaving several voicemails.
I expressed to Amber and Brittney that I was becoming frustrated with the lack of communication and was feeling that maybe calling corporate would be the best route. After talking to Brittney I decided not to call corporate at that time. Robert Half still did not have a position to offer me. I called the Fort Worth office where I spoke to Matthew. He seemed sympathetic to my situation considering that I was not getting effective communication from the Irving office. I was glad I did not call corporate at that time. I spoke to Matt on a Thursday, he told me to give him a call directly on Monday. I called Matthew on Monday and Tuesday leaving voicemails both times and never received a callback.
Today on July 3rd after reaching out to Robert Half for a month has decided to call corporate. Unless you're willing to drive to each branch every time you have an inquiry or wish to have your resume submitted to a client I suggest you do not seek Robert Half for employment. The customer service I have received from this company makes me want to never work for a temp agency again. This temp agency made me feel very unimportant and just horrible to be honest. It's a horrible feeling trying to find work to take care of your kids and recruiters don't even have the decency to return your calls.
I was asked to come in for an interview for a potential employment opportunity with Robert Half by their manager. I did the interview and the manager seemed impressed with my working experience and interview skills but when I was asked if I had a Bachelor's degree I told them no but that I was currently in college for my Associate in Business I was automatically shut down!
First and foremost, this was something their hiring management team should have been aware of long before being called to an interview. I know they saw my resume online. The way I see it, you don't call someone for a job interview, don't even bother to research the resume and come to the conclusion that they don't fill the void because it doesn't meet their requirements even though it was plainly stated on the resume. It is a waste of both employer and applicant's time and money! If someone from Robert Half calls you for a job interview ask them what qualifications they need for the position and it requires a degree of some sort. Otherwise, you are simply wasting your time.
There have been a few VP and Director jobs listed that I have applied for and the recruiter's email has been attached to the job posting. I have asked (one recruiter 15 times) to at least acknowledge my email and that my resume was received. Yet no response at all. They don't seem to understand that if hired from their help, or at least a response, once hired I would be loyal to them. Now that I have a job, through another agency, if a Robert Half person comes knocking on my door, I will ignore them just as they did me. They are unprofessional.
I was contacted by Jose ** for a job opportunity. I returned his phone call and I even responded to his email. This place is not worth your time, they are unprofessional and very rude from the front desk to the recruiters. It was obvious he told the receptionist to screen his calls. I did not hear back from Mr. ** and he did not even have the decency to let me know if the job had been filled or not. This is common courtesy because for us job seekers it's important that they let us know so we are not waiting around. I understand that recruiters are busy all the time but do not contact potential candidates if you have no intention of returning their calls just because you found somebody else to fill it!!! A simple email would have suffice. I felt like an idiot calling this man when he had no intention of ever returning my calls. Please do yourself a favor and go with another staffing agency.
I've attempted to remove myself from the Robert Half email spam list they have me on for a month or two. They stupidly added me to a list advertising candidates for a city about 1500 miles from the one I'm based out of, so not only am I not interested in the candidates they supposedly want to send me, now they've annoyed me to the point that I've decided to block their entire network from sending email to anyone in my company. The most recent spam was just this afternoon, from address 204.75.127.192 which is part of their public 204.75.64.0/18 registered to them, so I know it was not a forgery. So, that will be the last one they send that anyone at my company receives. If you're a job seeker, I'd look for someone who markets you to relationships they've actually cultivated instead of harvesting email addresses they think might be someone hiring new staff.
Avoid Robert Half Technology. It's worse than a waste of your time, it's a waste of opportunity. Once they represent you (and I use that term VERY loosely) for a position, you can't very well do an end run around them and work with the employer on your own. Using my experience as an example, RHT in New Hampshire pursued me as a candidate on 6 separate occasions. I happened to be a somewhat passive job seeker looking for a position of greater scope and responsibility. Since I already had a job, I requested that Skype interviews and phone calls be scheduled so that could speak freely. This often required that I take time off work for these calls and interviews. I made these facts known each time to the RHT recruiter with whom I happened to be working at the time.
Never once have any of them shown up for the scheduled meeting. Emails I've sent to RHT recruiters go unanswered. Requests for status go unanswered. On a few occasions, the RHT recruiter who I initially spoke with to discuss my experience, background, skill sets, aspirations, etc. did not represent me to the prospective employer. They instead sent others who could not answer questions about my background and experience and resulting in a poor representation of me.
My time, and yours, is too precious – as are the opportunities – to be wasted by unprofessional amateurs playing a numbers game. Apply for the role directly. No one will do a better job representing you than you. Engaging RHT will only harm your professional brand and your chances of landing a good position. How many stars do I give them for that?
I replied to 2 ads the day they posted. I heard back from 2 different recruiters within minutes of sending my resume. Both recruiters wanted in person interviews at their office, only AFTER contact information was provided for my current employer. Both jobs were either filled or withdrawn, on the next set of contact emails from RHL. This is a poor way to prospect for new business contacts!! Do they really have any real jobs or are they just posting ads to get leads? Avoid at all cost! They also violate labor laws by screening for employers, in ways that violate the law.
Ms. ** (Pasadena Division Director of Office Team, a subsidiary of Robert Half): was not doing her job in vetting her clients, and did allow exchange of services without all parties first agreeing (i.e. Robert Half's client, RH, and prospective candidate). All tasks should have be vetted, cleared by all parties, and agreed upon before a candidate is put in front of a "stranger", a word Mr. Chris ** (Regional VP) openly used in saying, "all our candidates are faced with strangers in first meeting them". He completely diluted my horrible experience into a trivial encounter by phone today, and this is why I say I do not feel safe having my information with Robert Half.
This is also why OT should have vetted Win Pont and their representatives better. Candidates should not be put in a position where they face potentially unethical business conduct because of a lack of background verification and thus, are subjected to an unsafe environment. Ms. ** should have vetted her client, provided a job description and some background information on Win Pont and Co. in writing prior to my interview (ie. Mr. Eric **, Director of Strategy, Mr. Jason **, CEO of Win Pont). If she was not able to, then she should have hired a translator or had someone who was capable of doing the legwork. In a nutshell, not have left it solely to me to feel out what their client Win Pont, wanted or not wanted, a point totally missed by Mr. ** (RVP) today.
Had a skype interview and received a phone call a week later asking if I was interested in a Paralegal position. I was so excited and we discussed the details of the company and I waited. And waited. I left a message and waited. Nothing. Received a phone call from another recruiter a couple of weeks later asking if I was interested in another assignment. Again, I was eager and excited and made plans to return to work full time the following Monday, which I was told was when I was needed for this new assignment.
I called back the next day to inquire as to the status of the opening and was told it was no longer a full time position. What? Do these people not understand they're dealing with individual's lives? They don't have the time to call their clients back and keep them in the loop? Again, I'm crushed and saddened by a company that made promises to me regarding my future. How can a company allow their employees to treat hardworking individuals that trust them with their future so poorly? This company needs to be exposed for who they are.
I had applied with Robert Half at one time. Went through the interview with one person, then was told by another one "You don't have enough experience." Pretty harsh when you have been in the same field over 20 years.
I was sent to interview for a temporary assignment with a company, interview. After speaking with the company, I told them I would write up a contract. The contract was for a WordPress site custom design/development (no content writing). I wrote the contract for 56 hours site design and 24 hours site development. Total 80 hours. Sent this to the company. Company hired me. After 58 hours, the company stated that we had a verbal agreement for a total of 56 hours and I went over 2 hours. Also, I owed them content writing, which I did not write in the contract.
The company called Robert Half and myself in a meeting. Robert Half agreed with the company, even when seeing the contract, because of a verbal initial meeting they said we had. This was not true, because the contract clearly states 80 hours. However, was very disappointed with Robert Half that they allowed this company to cheat me 34 hours, (10 extra hours was for the content writing, which was not in the contract). This was Robert Half out of Houston, Texas off of the Katy freeway. Not a good place to get hired from. They will not stand by you. They will take the side of the company, even with a written contract. Hope this never happens to anyone. Also, I had three different recruiters, a lot of turnovers with recruiters in this office. Think the office is too young, lacks experience and needs older management.
I signed up with Office Team Tampa FL back in May 2016. Since then I was only offered one temp job that only lasted one day. This company lied to Office team about all of us that was selected to be at this one place that day. Since then, I have to keep emailing, calling every week, only to keep hearing the same old B.S. "Sorry we do not have anything" or "Sorry we never heard back." I was an excellent employee for almost 17 years, unfortunately I was let go. I have been trying to change careers and get started somewhere else since, but the recruiters seem like they DO NOT CARE about job seekers even though their lying mission statement says different. What is really sad, I could name at least 7 other lousy staffing agency that are just as insensitive.
I was hired through Robert Half Office Team in Nashua NH for a contract job. One of my coworkers also worked for the company so instead of ever checking in with me or returning my phone calls they spoke with her and relayed messages through her. When I did speak with someone concerning an issue within my office their directive was, "Talk to your boss on site" even though the lack of communication from him was the issue.
When I left the contract after a sudden loss in my family the office did not report that my belongings had come into their possession. When I heard through a rumor where it all ended up I went directly to the office only to find they had come in possession of my items and promptly lost them. I asked them over several weeks to check again in the office and received no response at all for a month. I felt disrespected and not listened to whatsoever. Their response, after a month of radio silence, was short, terse, and completely unapologetic. The least communicative hottest mess of a company I have every had the displeasure of working for.
The least professional and the most ignorant and non-performing headhunters which I have ever come in contact with. I have met with their agents face to face in a university career fair, I have sent them my CV and cover letter, I have tried to follow up with them via phone & e-mail but to no avail. They treat you as if you don't exist. I have a bachelor of accounting management degree and a few years of accounting work experience. I sent another CV to a different Robert Half location and met with a headhunter. He was quite rude with me and made me think twice whether I would really like to find a job through this company. I cannot imagine how they've managed to stay in the market so far. Don't they understand the importance of protocol, communication, or to the least having the minimum courtesy and respect for candidates? A total disappointment!!
Robert Half offices in downtown Orlando and Lake Mary seem generally uninterested in matching job seekers with jobs. They provide no responses to emails, and do not return phone calls. It appears they only work the easy matches, and if you don't fit a quick match (read: quick commission) you are ignored. Other job search sites are often not much better, but do communicate, and some even provide follow up and feedback. Working with Robert Half has been a waste of time.
The branch manager is absolutely careless about any of the employees, and she is very disrespectful. There was a safety issue at the job that I was assigned to, and when I tried to speak to her about it, she avoided my calls, allowed her very disrespectful receptionist to treat me like crap, and then dismissed me from the company because she couldn't be bothered with the issue that I felt should have been addressed. I don't know how people can hire such horrible people to manage their business, but obviously it is done. If it wasn't, I would've never encountered this woman.
Sadly, the poor reviews are the ones which should resonate. They continue to make false promises, poor communicators. I have informed them to never represent me. The Austin, TX office is just as bad as the Dallas, TX site. I did have a good experience with the Houston, TX office. RHI representatives are so arrogant, they arrange the interviews, some will fail, intentionally, other, who they have selected and who will demand a higher billable rate will always be given preference. I despise this firm, if I ever have a need to fill a position, this is one firm, I will NEVER use. They should be ashamed of themselves, predatory selecting processes, horrible firm.
They make money out of thin air! People work hard every day try to gain some work experience and RH takes the advantages. Companies like these should be brought in to government's attention in order to regulate them. They charge higher amount of money from the organization but pay a little portion to the people who work hard. This is totally unfair.
Although my Resume reflects the proper experience, they will only place me in call centers. If I was Brown Haired and Blue Eyed and dumb as a rock, I would get placed in an accounting firm. This country is going down because of companies as such. No matter what you know. Employment is based on what you look like here at Robert Half/Office Team here in Florida. Shake my head, foreign countries taking over. I see why!!
Illegal business practice. Unprofessional. They charged my employer 35% of my hourly as a premium. They were very unprofessional in finding me a job in the accounting field, despite a stellar resume. They basically make you their commodity if you apply with them. Communication was nonexistant and the employees at the office looked tired and bored of the job. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! IT'S BAD BUSINESS!
This agency is so unprofessional. I have called and every time called speak to person upfront and when she transfer call it always go to answering machine. Even though, leave message never receive callback. I can not believe they still have a job because I receive updates where it shows position available. When ask about position by person that answer phone it is never available. I am so frustrated because if I did not need a job I would not call.
I have tried working with RHI on several occasions and their MO is always the same. I see a job posted on their website, I inquire about job, I am told to come in and fill out paperwork. They always require, upfront, your prior managers' names and contact information and will emphasize how important it is that you bring in those references. Then they always say "the job in question has been filled, but we'll keep in touch." What they are really doing is getting names of managers and their contact numbers (from the references you gave them). This is underhanded and sly and leaves poor job candidates scratching their heads. My advice - don't keep feeding them with your reference names. If they say they need those upfront, they are lying.
This division of Robert Half in Denver could not be more unprofessional, rude, arrogant, and discouraging to someone who is seeking a position in the legal arena. They do not return phone calls, emails, and the website is extremely difficult to navigate in terms of accessing information and specifics about positions. If someone does deign to call you, their tone is arrogant, condescending and impatient - as if they are doing you the hugest favor in the world by speaking with you. I would not recommend working with them at all; there are far better legal recruiting agencies in Denver which you can easily find and where you will not be treated in this incredibly unprofessional manner. Don't even waste your time.
I was put in touch with recruiters in the Stamford, CT office several months ago. I met with both of them and they were going to submit my resume for an administrative role I was a good fit for, however they never followed up with me, I had to chase them up. Months later I reached out to both of them again to reconnect regarding my job search and radio silence. No reply back at all from either of them. Then I have a RH recruiter from Chicago reach out to me about a local temp/contract role she thinks would be a good fit, well after trying to reach her and having left three voice mails I gave up. Now this past week I found a temp role posted on the New Haven office's site and applied online and followed up with two voice mails for the recruiter handling this role, again radio silence. How does this company stay in business when they do not even return inquiries from viable candidates? They suck, plain and simple.
I applied for a position on the Robert Half Legal website. The position was for an Entry Level Legal Secretary. I thought great, I'm enrolled in a Paralegal Studies program and need some experience in a Law office. The title said Entry Level. I read the job description and felt I met the qualifications so I applied. That very day I received a voicemail from a recruiter with Robert Half, Rhett was his name. I called him back and the woman that answered the phone was very short with me on the phone. Then I spoke to Rhett and he basically said that I should not apply to jobs there anymore because I live in Hanover, PA and that's too far of a drive to the Baltimore area. I thought I get to decide how far I will travel to a job? So I will not be dealing with Robert Half or Rhett the ignorant recruiter. I really wanted that job so I could get my foot in the door and really learn something. Rhett is basically a waste of sperm.
This agency is all talk and no action. They have jobs on their Website that are not available. They seem to leave them there to attract candidates, who get switched to other clients once they take the bait. I inquired about some tech jobs for which I am well qualified. The recruiter promised to check on those, then sent me to interview on a public sector job that was not posted and about which I was barely interested - unless they had a strong interest in my talent. The public employee who interviewed me was the most rude interviewer I've ever met. Read questions from a page without looking at me, then interrogated me like a detective sweating down a robbery suspect when I did not recite pages from technical documentation to prove my technical acumen.
I got the sense I was interviewed only because public employers have to interview a minimum number of candidates before they hire the person they already selected for the job. After that, the recruiter could not provide any feedback about the public agency's claims about why they wanted to interview me but did not like my talent or skills. Nor did the recruiter respond to my subsequent inquiries about another job. This agency is not so much a head hunter, but a paper hunter, selecting candidates who have the best paper credentials with no interest in finding out first person what skills and talents a candidate brings to the table. They waste candidates time bait-and-switching from non-existent jobs to jobs that don't really want private sector talent. Big waste of time and energy.
After reading reviews on Robert Half, and experiencing about a week or two of them, I can understand these reviews. I was initially given a connection and interview from a Robert Half Inc recruiter in Chicago, IL. They first contacted me via phone, and I told them they were using the wrong email, and gave the correct one. They never updated this and continued to email the wrong email. So, having continued to check that email semi-regularly, communication through the Chicago individual led to a phone interview for a possible temp to hire that would not begin until the end of August.
The phone interview was scheduled for 2 PM. At 1:50, a second individual contacted me. They were not from Chicago and apparently not directly with Robert Half (which was not clear at first). They spoke very quickly, and said there is another temporary assignment available immediately and they *know* I have a phone interview BUT would I be possibly interested in this six-week assignment? Do I have any appointments coming up in the next six weeks? Bombarding me with questions right before, and until 1:59 PM.
Don't cave in to the pressure when they do this to you. And they all employ some form of Valley Girl accent. After having agreed under duress that I would be interested, the Valley Girl said "Oops!" at 1:59 PM. My phone interview was scheduled at 2:00 PM. I received confirmation email for the *sudden* temp assignment 9:00 PM, expected to begin the next morning.
You can see where this is going. Even if I had been adequately dressed, the job manager informed me that they had not processed me into the system and that I could return for a full day of work the next day. The agency was nasty towards me and said something different. So, no. I will not be working for them, and they did not enroll me in payroll immediately either, and I was suspicious as to when or if I would be paid as there was no clear answer. Also – 40 mile drives for barely above minimum wage is not fair compensation for doing high volume call and data entry work which I can be paid more for locally.
I have been in contact with the Columbus, OH office for about a week. The sent me an email about a job, and I responded which lead to a FaceTime interview. The job that I was originally emailed about changed from a legal assistant to a receptionist, so I informed them that I was no longer interested in that job, but I would like to be considered for other opportunities. Fast forward a week - I was called at 9 am on a Friday morning and offered a job for the following Monday as a legal assistant.
I was employed at the time, which the case worker at Robert Half knew about, so I needed to quit. I immediately went and quit after being offered the position. Two and a half hours later, I was called again and informed that the position had changed and they had decided to go with a different candidate. Seriously?!? Two and a half hours for an entire job to change and a new candidate to be chosen. What a joke. If I wanted fake and insincere job offers, I could hire a kid to prank call me twice a week. No thanks!!!
The worst recruitment service I have ever encountered. From both the standpoint of employer, and candidate. My first encounters with RHT runs back to 2003 as a candidate. RHT in Dallas, TX has a number of open positions that I could be suited for and my resume matched. No response, callback, or contact back from RHT ever. Fast forward 2 years to 2005. My second encounter with RHT. I contacted them as a candidate again for a potential position in Houston, TX. I was lucky enough this time to connect with someone that was in good form and decided to do some recruiting that day.
I had a number of calls with recruiters and account managers who assured me they had a number of current open positions that my resume would match perfectly. I attend a RHT interview with the recruiter and two other senior members of staff. It is requested of me to take a lengthy aptitude test and additional screening, prior to being considered, or submitted for any positions. I spend the time and effort as requested and wait to hear from the recruiter in regards to potential positions. You guessed it, no more communication from RHT at all from that point till many years later.
Fast forward a year, 2006, working in the Greater NY area, as a C-Level executive I receive a number of emails from RHT as a potential customer in my corporate email/inbox. I did not have a current requirement at that time but I knew of at least one senior level role I would need to have filled in the coming months. I reach out to the recruiter in the email and to my surprise no response. Many voicemails and emails later still no response. So I close the door on the possibility of using RHT to find a good candidate. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but the bad taste in my mouth as a potential candidate myself, just came back with a vengeance.
If they treat their candidates like that how are they going to treat their customers? Are the candidates also not their customers? I do not think the lazy recruiters that RHT seems to employ see candidates as a bucket of potential food for customers to consume with no respect whatsoever for their time or efforts. A few years later, 2016, I again start to get telephone calls and emails from RHT. Someone must have lit a fire under one of the recruiters to drum up some business.
Many calls, voicemails, and emails ignored later I seemed it only fitting as a candidate, that seems to have been the approach taken with myself over the years, I decided to answer one of the emails. Once the situation and my experiences with RHT are communicated there were lots of promises that RHT of today is a different company, proud and willing to go to bat for clients, and candidates. I agree to a face to face meeting to possibly entertain using RHT to source future needs at the company.
Now, let's FF to the present day. RHT advertises a position that I would consider myself a pretty good match for. My resume reads almost identical to the job description. So, I feel brave, put the past behind me once more, and apply for the position online. I follow up with an email to the recruiter with no response. I call the recruiter and try to get some more information on the position advertised. You guessed it, not available, and only a voicemail at that end. I leave a voicemail, no call back. I speak to the receptionist to try to get to someone else who could possibly answer my questions. I leave a voicemail with that person, and again no callback.
I decide to take this to a senior manager/account manager at the branch in question and he apologizes for the lack of response. He then assures me that the recruiter responsible will call me back that same day. No email, no telephone calls, and no response of any kind. I must share this as I have heard many other similar stories with RHT, and they all come back, to not so much incompetence but more so just plain lazy.
As a C-level exec, I am sure I will share this at other conferences and events with other senior technology executives to see if RHT is really a company that we all should be doing business with. Please continue to post your review and comment either good or bad so everyone can decide for themselves. Heading to the bathroom for a mouthful of Listerine rinse to get this bad taste gone and out. Apologies... Typing this on iPhone.
I have been on an ongoing assignment since January 19th 2016, I keep receiving a change in my case recruiters without my knowledge, in depth, I never received valid information on the resignation and removal of my (then) recruiter. I've recently reached out to a member of Robert Half's office for temp affairs to completely understand the point of why my recruiter was removed as well as who had taken their place. The woman I spoke to about the issue was not only rude to me, but refused to answer my questions or retrieve the information necessary and have me hold, but also in the midst of speaking to her she hung up and never reconnected when I attempted to speak to her in the following minutes afterward.
In terms of the position itself, I haven't received word from the company or my recruiters to give a cohesive update on my time there at the job. Please remind yourself that I've been at this position for 6 months and counting and I was only supposed to be there for two weeks. WARNING: If you're looking for a temp to perm position this company is not the option you're looking for. Their only concern is making a profit off of your back and not appraising and complimenting your hard work and talents.
I received a cold call from RHI and a very persuasive and friendly young lady chatted with me for about 30 mins and I was ultimately invited to a meeting the next day in their corporate office downtown. Although I was initially skeptical, my meeting went very well! I met 4 individuals who all fawned over my resume and more or less told me I am very marketable and they would do everything in their power to set me up with something substantial and soon. They even said I was perfect for an open role they were working with a client on and was promised an email with additional information... and that's the last I ever heard from RHI. I've sent several emails and left several VMs to no avail. What a joke.
Nadine in the Miami office is very unprofessional and unethical! Doesn't return calls or emails about missing pay that was owed to me. She lacks professionalism and courtesy. I dont know where they find these people. The worst experience ever! Never again. I should have listened to the reviews about this place.
It was the worse experience of my life. The day I visited the office locate at 181 Bay Street Suite 820 I was excited. I was told that you will be working for Intact Insurance and will have an interview over the telephone within two days. I waited for the call; however, two weeks passed by no call. I call up Roberts Half office and find out. We gave that opportunity to someone else.
A week later, the agent name ** calls me up with the offer of a data entry position. I accepted it on such short notice. I started working the next day. She insults me through e-mail for going home. Even though the manager herself told me to go home once I was done work. I did not question **. I did not get pay for two weeks. I tried talking to ** she did not help. Even though she is making money through me. It is her job to find people job so she can get paid as well.
I call her up she insults me through phone. Later, she sends me an e-mail to call her up. I call her she does not take my call. I left a message for her and sent her an e-mail. She did not call back or reply back. It just shows how much she values her customer's time. The agents at ROBERT HALF believe they are CEO of some big company. She is worse than an animal. She has no communication, time management, organization skills. My most unfortunate experience with Robert Half in Toronto, Ontario. They should close the branch located at 181 BAY STREET SUITE 820.
I've worked for RHI/Officeteam since 2005. It was great in the beginning, I had so many assignments. I could actually turn some down without missing a beat. I got more assignments. That was when a awesome young woman by the name of Sandra was there. She truly cared about getting you work. If an assignment didn't work out Sandra had no problem getting you another assignment in a timely manner. The past few years has been hell at Officeteam! I stayed ill for the duration of Sandra's time we worked together, but when I wasn't sick I was working. Sad to say Sandra left Officeteam about 5-6 years ago, and it's been hell ever since! They have called me to come in the main office 4-5 times seems like to meet new people that was coming into the Ca, Orange office to revamp everything. Let's just say it has been an epic fail!
The individual running things now is Keri, and she not a people person at all. Let's just say if you can't do anything for them and I do mean anything you're no good to the Orange office in Ca. I met with her, to get surprise I was an African American in my 50's, she got over it. They sent me on assignment to see if it's something I could do, I felt like it ain't something for me and I expressed it to her and one of her team members. They both called me and basically fussed at me not staying on a job I knew I would not be able to handle because the training was so unorganized. I didn't stay for the whole assignment. I went two days and I knew this is just not for me. I basically sealed my fate with Officeteam. Keri took it as a personal attack. So if there is a job next door to my house they will not call me. Don't waste your time and energy with the Orange, Ca. Officeteam. They do not value their employees.
I applied last year and I was going to get a job but they didn't help me. Honestly there is a lady works here called Ashley. She is the biggest liar and ** there. She doesn't know what she is doing. She refused to help me and tried to look for excuses in order to not to help me. Seriously she is more than a **. She suits to be a dancer in the strip club. She is just a stripper. She is probably selling her body in the street.
I work for Robert Half for a week and months late and I still havent been paid! This company is a joke. They don't have the jobs they post and clearly don't pay the workers.
I was offered multiple job opportunities and was contacted by one representative. This is the same representative I've talked to multiple times for the same position. I always asked about the previous position I had interest for, and they skip to a new one. It is like they don't want me to get hired or that job didn't want to pay them. The person never contacts me back and the last contact I had with her was 2 weeks ago, stating she will take care of the documentary for me. Isn't that what a cover letter is for?? They do not contact you back for the jobs. It is quite embarrassing for this company to exist and I have to continue my hunt on other career sites and avoid all Temp Agency recommendations because they do not contact you back.
I could go on and on about my most unfortunate experience with Robert Half, and Accountemps in Nashville, TN, but I'm just going to simply list the issues as follows: They SPAM you with emails and phone calls once they have your personal information. They ask you for names and phone numbers of people you know. They discriminate based on age! If you're above 30 years of age this is not the agency for you. If you are 18 to 29 you might find some luck here, if you are currently doing the exact same job they are trying to place for. Otherwise, these kids don't have the experience to understand the diverse and versatile nature of accounting/finance, etc.
They call you about a job opportunity, but not to ask if you are interested, to ask you if you 'know someone' who may be interested in the job. A job, every time, I was more than qualified to do. They don't work for you personally, like other headhunters, but file your resume digitally in the general network so any employee can, and will, contact you if an internal 'key word' search pulls you up. This wastes your time and causes you to get phone calls about jobs that aren't relevant to your current needs. They call you in for interviews and then tell you everything you discussed on the phone, which prompted the interview, is either not available or not relevant. What?
Your level of education and work experience means nothing to these kids, as all they want to know is if they can get a quick commission off of you right now. If not, they don't have any desire to work with you. They call you and leave a message requesting your immediate attention to a great job opportunity that just opened up, and then never answer their phone when you call them back, and they never return you calls. If your education is not all 'accounting' or all 'finance' they become confused and anxious, and totally incapable of processing you as a potential employee. In other words, you must fit a very particular work-mold or these kids, some adults, don't have the skill-set, experience or savvy to find you work.
The most disappointing aspect to this experience is I know for a fact that I am qualified to work in just about any position that comes across their desk, but due to the fact these are just 'kids' searching for their next commission running things you can't make any progress with them. My education? AAS -- Accounting; ADN -- Nursing; Bachelors -- Management; Masters -- Business Administration.
I responded to an online job board post about a specific position. Robert Half recruiter contacted me. Setup an interview. At the interview, I was told no jobs are available. I was also told the pay would be half of what I would normally expect. A huge waste of time. Why would I negotiate a pay scale and interview for a job that ended up not being there at all?
As a business and as a customer we enlisted Account Temps to fill an Admin/Accounting position. It became apparent to me quickly and my perception is that this company only cares about collecting money and not about customer service and needs. They have a lack of understanding of the marketplace and hire younger people as their sales force with no real world or business experience which can be very frustrating to deal with. They seem to also fail to gain the confidence and respect of the people they are placing and all the candidates they have sent to us have many complaints. I would strongly recommend not using them for accounting or other office temporary needs.
So, I was offered a job through Robert Half on the behalf of Hannaford Delhaize. I met with the recruiter Sean in Portsmouth to sign all the paperwork including the job offer. Well, they said everything was fine and all of a sudden I received an email from the Luke (another recruiter) to do my own background check on myself (they said it would be expense from my first pay check through them). Now, I'm no genius, but, I believe most people, before they offer you a job, would have all this done prior to giving you the job. Now, I'm getting the run around.
Luke said that their law office is in California and that they were waiting on them and it could take 1-3 weeks before they hear anything back. Now, this seems like a crock to me, as I was able to get my background check done in under 20 minutes and had sent it off to Luke. I haven't heard anything from them. Fortunately, I just didn't sit and wait for them to contact me back or I'd probably die of old age waiting for that call. I would seriously consider not dealing with Robert Half as when it comes down to business, they have no ethic or morals. I'm honestly not even sure how they stay in business.
I'd interviewed with the Uniondale New York office of accountemps RHI. Met with a Recruiter name Jack and "Location Manager" Melissa. He'd painted a nice outlook in all of the available positions abound. Weeks later he attempts to sell me into a one day/week, two or three week duration position. I'd declined. Suddenly, the rosy picture of available opportunities had darkened and my many emails and phone calls went unanswered. They are glorified commission ** with little or no concern for the candidate, sorry to say. Unprofessional, careless, untouched by a candidate's needs. Just filling slots with bodies for a commission billing. Stay far away.
I was laid off in Jan 2015 and I hustled all the online job sites, all of the placement firms that contacted me and mailed\emailed cold resumes to HR departments (I put 1000 miles on my vehicle in a week doing interviews and having meetings) and as a result I got my first Job offer in 72 hours. I declined for a number of reasons and in the next two weeks I have a number of other offers one being from Robert Half. All of this went down on a Friday-Monday because at the time I got the job offer for a temp to hire Job from Robert Half. I had told a number of other companies I would give them an answer by Monday. When asked if I would accept the Job I told Robert Half that I was uncomfortable with the abnormally long six month temp to hire period and that other offers I had would provide me and my family insurance from day one. The person I spoke to said they would raise those questions and get back to me.
A couple of hours later I got a call back from Robert Half and was told that not only did the monetary offer increase but that the client wanted me so badly they would cut the temp to hire period from six months to a more normal three months. The representative further told me that Robert Half offered comprehensive insurance and gave me an impressive number as to what my full-time salary would be after the contract period. I asked them to send me some information on their health care plan and I would let him know Monday. Late Friday I got a .pdf for a healthcare plan that while it was a little expensive would be good to go for three months. On Monday I accepted the offer. With the background checks and paper work I actually started the following Monday.
The first problem I ran into was the health plan I was shown was sent to me by accident. That plan is one for full time Robert Half employees (read recruiters and managers), the plan for contractors was quite different - ultimately for employee plus family you get to pay nearly $500 a month for the right to pay $12,000 out of pocket before the plan pays for anything. The second problem I ran into was the contract was never shortened and was in truth a full six months. Lastly not only was the transition salary not what they told me, but they had told the company I was working for that my onboarding salary would be less than what Robert Half was paying me (I have seen the letters and Emails) so while being on boarded I actually took a pay cut.
In closing Robert Half got very lucky in that once at my current job I really liked both it and the people or I would have explained to management exactly why and Left. In the end if you want to work for a company that treats you like property, will lie to you in order to get you to do what they want, and ultimately leaves you high and dry then Robert Half is a good fit. If that isnt for you please do yourself a favor and stay away.
I received a call from Stephanie ** about a job opportunity in the Wall Street area. We sat and spoke in her office for an hour. I noticed that she had my original application since 2009 and that there was my old email address. I gave her my new email address and thought, OK, let's see what happens. First of all, I find that I have to call them weekly to "check in". I then get a call from Jackie who tells me there is an opportunity (which I know I'm not qualified for) in Bedford Hills. Again, I explain that I rely on public transportation and she tells me to take Metro North - first off, this is the Harlem Line...I use the Hudson Line. They are so unorganized and stupid. I wouldn't recommend this agency to anyone. They are a total waste of time.
I was contacted by Stephanie from Robert Half who found my resume on Careerbuilder.com. I was told by her that she had a job opportunity for me. This happened to be during February vacation, so my young daughter was home from school and we had planned out our week together. To make a long story short, I had a hour-long intensive phone interview with the HR department of the company I was to work for. I then had an in-person interview, then a second interview, was shown my desk, told how much my salary was, and introduced to everyone in the business office.
However, everyone asked me how I found out about the job opening; NO ONE AT THE COMPANY HAD KNOWLEDGE THAT I WAS GOING THROUGH ROBERT HALF. Stephanie called me to let me know that the hiring company was very impressed with me and wanted to hire me. I was sent through the mill with a series of visits to Robert Half's office on the other side of the state to fill out paperwork and take tests, all of which I was told I passed with flying colors. I was also told that the reason I doing all of this driving and paperwork was because I had the job.
Robert Half called all of my references, of which they reported to me that they were very impressed by what my former employers had said about my work performance. I spent hours transcribing various production elements to show examples of my work, which the recruiter never sent the company. I never heard from the hiring company again. I was told by the recruiter that "Companies don't have time to follow up nowadays." I told Stephanie to take me off of their list. Robert Half gobbled up my entire February vacation with my child and I didn't get the job. Turns out, the fee they were asking was so high that the company ended up hiring from within. AVOID ROBERT HALF. THEY WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY!!!
My initial meeting with a recruiter seemed promising after about 30 minutes of talking about what type of job position/pay/location I was looking for. For about the first week I received a couple of possible job opportunities that looked hopeful. In all, I only went on ONE interview and the recruiter stopped all communication after about two weeks. Luckily, I was still employed and was just looking for better opportunities. But what if I hadn't had a job and been desperate? This company is a joke and a waste of time. The recruiter also sent me a few job leads in the Dallas area after countless times of me saying I was not interested in traveling that far.
I phoned for a temporary position and spoke with Nicholas ** - I emailed my resume and he set me up right away for an interview. I was told I would be meeting with Negin and Josh however only met with Negin. After my interview I immediately sent a thank you note and I was told that I would be receiving emails daily with listing for positions and to contact them right away if I was interested.
My interview was 2 weeks ago and even though I spent the time going back into their office for I.D. forms for the I-9 and emailed Nicholas ** for feedback on why I wasn't receiving email, and when I logged in there wasn't any positions listed for their office - I was perplexed and I was told that there is high demand right now - not the case as seen to date as I find their communication extremely below adequate. Not to mention wearing flip flops with dresses in a business office, not professional attire. I am extremely disappointed I wasted my time and don't appreciate being told one thing and it has never occurred. No emails ever sent to me with any type of listing. Wouldn't recommend this agency.
I went in Mar 2015, for a permanent position. The person I met, didn't know till she handed me her card at the end was temporary. Told me to call back after a week and that I could only get $16-$17 an hour. I called many times and always sent to voice mail. Then they advertise for AP $50-$65 and the jobs are NEVER available. And the person who advertise the ad is never available and never returns calls. I have over 30 years of overall Accounting and they have nothing for me???
I applied to a posting and received an email request to speak with me. I called and left a voicemail. No response. I emailed to ask if there was a good time to call. No response. This is not the first time this has happened. I find them to be disorganized, careless, and unresponsive. I am not sure if they don't follow-up because they don't care about their reputation, they don't care about the candidates, they are disorganized, or a Combination of them all. I will NEVER refer anyone to them. And you can bet as an HR professional I will NEVER use them to source candidates. If you don't have the time or care for me as a candidate then I don't need you in either capacity.
Went there for permanent job, thought the guy I met was permanent, turns out it was just temp... They force that on you and don't care about permanent positions...
I signed up with the RH and Accountemps office in North Olmsted, OH. I mentioned to several recruiters I met with that I was let-go (no fault of my own) from my previous job. When I finally received my first job offer, after many interviews and several months later, they tell me that they have to rescind the job offer, and I can never seek a job through Robert Half or Accountemps again. Why? Because they found out that I was ineligible to be re-hired at my previous place of employment. Besides the fact that this type of policy filters out perfectly fine candidates, it is beyond me to figure out what logic, if any, was used in not figuring this out on day one.
I find the Robert Half/Account Temps Agency to be very misleading. I have been listed with them for the past 4 years. I feel their Black List is very unfair and misleading. I turned down assignment with them for personal reasons and the email response I received for Kenya ** in the Tampa Office was so unprofessional, I could hardly believe it. We continued to exchange emails and each time she nastier.
I am now on the black list and it is really unfair the way they treat people and are allowed to get away with it. I also was told on the QT that several jobs they have listed are either position that have been filled or that they just put out there to build their database with resumes. It so very sad that they are losing good candidates because of a unprofessional staff, maybe they need to take a really good hard look at their own employees and make some changes. Since all the reviews seem to be about the same topics and go back 70 plus months, just shows what bad ethics this company really does have.
Beware! The Robert Half Irvine office is a nightmare, they placed a senior Controller/IT person with my company, of which his resume was totally misleading and never reviewed by this office. They sold this person as a CPA, certified Public Accountant with major experience in IT software that I was using. After a month into the job, I quickly discovered that his certification was 10 years old, from another state and not active (never advised on resume). His IT experience was minimal and to make matters worst, the guy walks off the job in the second month after realizing he needed to be accountable for the project. Our company pays 22% of his annual salary as a fee upfront, and when asked for a replacement or refund, they told me to talk to their attorney.
Robert Half promotes doctored resumes to sell individuals to companies at a higher salary, only to get you to pay upfront. Now their attorneys will not accept calls from our legal council. Unbelievable!
I was contacted by an RH recruiter in San Ramon, CA in November 2014 about several jobs I had applied for they posted online, and she asked me to send her an updated resume and references. I did this within an hour, she replied she got the email, and I heard nothing for 2 weeks. I emailed her back to ask what happened, she apologized and arranged a short phone interview. We chatted 15 minutes, and she told me I was "perfect" for the positions. I had done recent job assessment tests and gave her my scores. She was impressed, and we agreed to meet in person the next day. On my resume I embed a 1" size professional business photo, and I look young for my age. I'm 59, but look 40, since I've always been a late bloomer, and have no wrinkles.
As soon as she met me in the lobby, she was very enthusiastic and we went to a private conference room to talk. I sat down with her and answered questions. Within 10 minutes, she gave me an I-9 form to complete (which includes DOB, SS number) and I knew from experience what would happen next. Once my age was obtained, the tone changed. The recruiter went from excited to cold as ice. I hear the "overqualified" comments, which is code for "too old." It doesn't matter if I already showed enthusiasm for the job, the lower salary and job duties given. Suddenly the attitude is borderline annoyed, the watch checking starts, and the meeting is cut short instantly.
I understand the high cost of my medical may be an issue, so I indicate I have my own medical, saving any employer significant money. So what's left to be concerned with now? She says, "I'll submit you for this job and let you know the results." I have not heard a word since, after 6 weeks. I sent a proper thank you after I left, and a polite email at week #3 to ask the status of the jobs, which was ignored. Now I'm on the Robert Half "Blacklist" as too old. Thus I can't apply to all the jobs RH posts that match my skills perfectly. I won't get the chance to interview with the companies, either.
This is the third time this scenario has happened dealing with this agency, between 2011 and 2014. Anyone over 50 is at the mercy of these younger (25-35) recruiters and their illegal judgement calls they make about job applicants. The pattern is always the same... I'm treated with excitement, until I complete the I-9 form, and their mood changes completely, as they try to get me out of the door.
I've had male recruiters from the other RH agency near me call when I apply for a job, and are very persistent for me to "come in and talk about the job. " They send me the skill assessment tests, which I complete and return, with high scores. I arrive for an interview, where the job I applied for is never mentioned. Once they hand that I-9 form to me, the subject gets changed and I never hear from them again.
I dress professionally, have excellent references, a list of accomplishments, and an outstanding resume with a great background. It becomes obvious when I meet these recruiters in person, and they obtain my I-9 info...I hear comments such as: "I think you may be overqualified for this job..." "You realize this is an entry level job, right?" "Are you sure you want this position?" "I think you wouldn't be very happy in this type of job."
I always answer, "I wouldn't have submitted my resume, or be here now if I was not interested in the job. You asked me to come here to discuss it, and I took the time to be here." They fumble and give the classic brushoff, "OK, I'll call you." I have indicated I have no kids, would work overtime, have flexibility, excellent attendance and more. Over 50 people don't have "Monday hangovers" or crying kids calling us all day! We won't get pregnant and go on maternity leave, have equal tech skills, better problem solving and writing skills, and don't play on Facebook all day... and can SPELL correctly!
From 2010 to 2014, I have experienced this blatant age discrimination firsthand at Robert Half International. I'm concerned my SS number is floating around with my DOB, which is prime ID theft material. I believe most of these jobs posted are not even real jobs, just a tactic to draw people into their database, to use to gain clients?
I was hired on a contingent basis as a Professional Staffing Consultant based on my background. I worked for a client of theirs and was favored by the client for 3 weeks. Then received a phone call two days ago telling me they had to terminate my employment based on my background check. I explained there was nothing on my background and this had to be a mistake. They even suggested it to be something criminal. I explained that I didn't even have a parking ticket so that it was a mistake. I also requested a copy to what the reason was and asked for a copy of my background report. I was told they could not provide that and they would need to contact legal department.
I contacted the legal department and was informed they had nothing to do with this and they would contact the branch to find out why they told me that. I received a second call telling me it was not my background but 2 bad references. I explained I have never received a bad reference and asked what employers were contacted. They would not supply this to me and said I should make sure to provide good references before supplying the names to Robert Half.
I contacted my previous employers and was informed they had not given a reference, that Robert Half left a message and that he would return the call to Robert Half and supply a reference today. So my question is how can they tell me the termination was due to my background check then retract and say it was references when they never spoke to my previous employers to get a reference. The only reason I can think of is that they did not want to pay me the salary they agreed to when they got another employee who had same experience to accept less money. I hope there is something I can do because this is extremely unethical. I am appalled to the way I was treated and have to fight for a right to clear my name.
Summary - I was offered yet denied employment due to the misrepresentation of a Robert Half Management Resources employee's unethical behavior. Search firm one - Robert Half Management Resources was never given consent verbally or otherwise to submit my resume over to employer: Rock Tenn. Search firm 2. Quest Financial was. An interview was scheduled, an offer was made and quickly rescinded.
April 17, 2013, I received an email from Michael ** at Robert Half advising me of two positions at Rock Tenn. He found my outdated resume on CareerBuilder.com. Michael stated if I was interested in either to forward my updated resume. I did not forward my updated resume. Unbeknownst to me his colleague Kim ** forwarded my resume to Rock Tenn. According to Kim on 4/18 the client, Rock Tenn, wanted to schedule an interview. Q: How? Why? I never sent my resume. Shocked and dismayed, I asked what resume did you send? I never sent a resume over to Michael and certainly didn't authorize you to.
April 18, 2013, Kimberly ** called stating Rock Tenn wanted to interview me for one of the above positions. I never consented verbal or written for Robert Half to represent me to Rock Tenn. Imagine my shock to receive this call after already sending an email at 10AM stating I will not be able to move forward. Kimberly falsely acted as my representative without my permission and sent an outdated resume from Career Builder to the client without my consent. As a result, the submission of my outdated resume to Rock Tenn by Robert Half Inc is null and void due to no verbal or written agreement by me. Although Kim acted prematurely a message was already sent to her colleague advising I was set to move to MI. Why would my resume be submitted without my consent? A separate email was sent to Michael several weeks later asking if the position was filled, he nor anyone from search firm one responded.
Week of July 9, 2013, while back in Atlanta I received a call from Nick ** at Quest Search regarding a contract position with Rock Tenn. After discussion with Nick, I agreed to have my updated resume submitted to Rock Tenn for the Sr. Accountant position and updated CareerBuilder with the most recent information as well. In doing so did not give Kimberly ** the go ahead to forward my most recent resume to Rock Tenn which she did (2nd offense). July 10, 2013, an interview was scheduled with Rock Tenn and me through Nick ** at Quest Search for Thursday, July 11, 2013. The day of the interview, Kimberly ** from Robert Half called me several times throughout the day as she had learned that I had an interview scheduled with both Mary ** and Hitesh ** at 2 pm arranged by Nick ** at Quest Search. She angrily shared her high level of displeasure that I had an interview with Rock Tenn and she had not been notified.
At this point Robert Half Inc.'s representatives behavior has become harassment of a candidate (myself) which I informed her of. Kimberly then stated that she went on CareerBuilder, uploaded my most recent resume and forwarded to Mary ** and the CAO at Rock Tenn, again without my verbal or written agreement. This submission of my resume from Robert Half is null and void due to no verbal or written agreement by me. I completed the interview with Mary ** and Hitesh ** which I felt went extremely well only to learn that a verbal offer was placed and rescinded due to Robert Half's misconduct. Robert Half put me and Quest Search in the middle of a war for business legally had nothing to do with me. There was nothing binding between us but the works of Kimberly **.
All in all, not only did I lose out on a potentially great opportunity, Robert Half's Management Resources, made my Brand (**) look unethical. Recruiters represent me in the market place. If they are acting unethical, you can bet that my name will be attached to that behavior as you engaged them as in this case. I am an individual of high work ethics, values, character and professional behavior throughout my career and overall life. I am confident that my teaming with Rock Tenn would have proven to be a successful partnership, one that would have led to the achievement of numerous departmental goals. However I will never be given this opportunity due to misrepresentation of me, falsification of emails and bullying. This is NOT okay!
I was offered a temp-to hire position in August 2010. Office Team told me what the salary was to work as a temp for this particular company and told me what the salary would be if the company hired me as a permanent employee. Well, after 8 months of hard work for little pay, I finally was made a permanent employee last week. I come to find out I was totally deceived and lied to. The job actually pays $5.00 an hour less than what I was told. I would have never taken the job if I hadn't been lied to. It seems as though they had a hard time filling this position in the past and just told me what I wanted to hear. They have done this to other employees who I work with as well.
Had I known that the job would continue to pay such low salary, I would have not wasted 8 months and continued to search for a better opportunity. It has been enormously difficult and stressful to keep up on all of my financial obligations, but I persisted and worked hard, believing that I would be rewarded at the end. Instead I am left feeling deceived and and very angry.
Interviewed by RHI on Friday; Chad offered employment (projected to start the following Monday morning). I completed W-2, I-9, divulging my SSN, DOB, etc. in preparation for Monday's assignment. No confirmation of Monday's assignment was received... End result: no employment and loss of sensitive data via outright deception.
Contacted RHI corporate office with complaint. Company agrees to return all forms and purge internal database. All actions currently pending.
