    The enrollment with GreenPath was easy and they took some information. They ran my credit report and they saw the debt I had. They gave me a representative to work with and they got me set up. They did mostly all of the legwork contacting the different companies and credit consumers. They were on top of it from that point. Customer service was patient and they want to make sure that whatever you need to get done, they do their job to make sure that your questions are being answered. I was really impressed during the COVID time. A lot of people, including myself, had tough times making those payments and they spoke on my behalf and reached out to my consumers in regards to pushing payments back, making sure it didn't affect my credit report, and worked with me when I was able to start making payments to get back caught up.

    GreenPath was associated with my credit union and I didn't pay a monthly cost to GreenPath directly. I have just recently paid off all debt that I had under GreenPath. That really helped streamline the monthly bills that I had coming in. It was able to consolidate some of those bills down to where I can actually not spend everything monthly on just bills and to where I can still see that they're being paid off but not going into debt paying the bills off.

    Initially, GreenPath did a good job trying to get the program set up. But through COVID, it was kind of a nightmare. There was zero help. There was no leeway. It was a tough program to stay true to during loss of jobs and not having what I needed in order to make sure that payment was still being made. If I had a change in job, I had to scrounge to get money from somewhere else in order to make sure the payment was done on time, otherwise, I would have been delinquent on the program. They could have people put 1% into a side account for when it's more of an emergency.

    I didn't miss a single payment but even when I completed the program, they tried to charge me an extra $30 at the end and made the last payment an incorrect amount, which was tacky after paying off $21,000 in five years. They also did not reach out very often. But I'm very appreciative that they helped me get the debt paid off. I'm glad that they were there to help drop the interest rates down and were trusted by those companies to make it something that was achievable.

    Thank you for sharing your frustrations. We understand it was difficult for so many during the pandemic. Please be assured that we reached out to creditors to see what hardships they were able to offer for clients on a DMP. Unfortunately we cannot make/require a creditor to change their policies. If a client needed to cancel/postpone payments, we always honored that request. With regards to putting money in a side account, we are unable to act as a savings account. If money is deposited to us, states have requirements of how quickly we have to send that money to a creditor.

    We tried to do everything we could to support our clients during the pandemic and I am sorry it did not feel that way for you.

    The reps were super nice and very informative. Every time I called them for certain things, they were super flexible and understanding, making different payments here, a little less here, a little more there. Their service was second to none.     GreenPath made the process pretty easy. I got a call from a gentleman and we did a little interview. We went over how much I had, what my goals were, and developed a plan from there. I was in the program for 48 months. The payments were affordable and the gentleman who helped me out was good. Also, any time I need anything else, I would do the online chat and everything would be taken care of that way. Instead of making the final payment, I just paid off Chase itself and they were able to help me close out the program that way. The online system was very helpful.

    They took care of the hard work. I just gave the money I needed to give them and they took care of the rest. I had to call customer service a few times whether it was to change my payment plan or hold off on the payments. They did a fine job. Even after I finished the program, my credit score has consistently gone up.     They were always informative. If I had a question, I was able to call. During the COVID, it's been a little harder to get ahold of people like anywhere else.     I was about to drown in finances, so I went to a lawyer and filed bankruptcy. We just bought a house, and she said that she could do it, but most likely, I would lose my house. I said, "Well, that ain't gonna happen," so she recommended something else. She said, "I can't recommend a specific one, but I'll give you a choice," and GreenPath was one of the choices. I checked them out online and checked reviews, and everything was favorable towards them more so than others. I contacted them, and I liked how they contact the credit agencies and got lower interest rates. Their fee is not very much as well.

    Enrollment was really simple, and they were good communicators. I talked to several reps and they were very friendly and went out of the way to help us out. I'm getting ready to pay my debt off, and one rep put me on hold while she checked with the credit card company to make sure that we paid the correct amount off, so we wouldn't have any discrepancies. She also kept checking back on me to make sure I was all right.

    Anytime I've been on the phone with Greenpath, it's always been professional and they've always gotten done what I had needed from them at that time. I would occasionally call in. If I had a change that I needed to make, or if I was trying to pay down anything faster, they walk me through what the options are, lay out that path and make sure that everything was clear and understood on my end on what those kind of changes would be.

    Greenpath has been pretty good, because they were able to negotiate down the interest rates for me to reduce the amount. Also, with their payment plan, they were able to get it to line up with the frequency of how we got paid, so we were able to do it on a schedule that was very consistent and predictable. They got us on track to pay down our debt. I was also able to accelerate the timeframe and hit that budget back from just debt to other things that we were looking forward to spend our budget on, to have more financial freedom.

    The application process went well. It was relatively easy and it was just a couple of days, if that. Their time to answer the phone was ridiculous though. They're obviously short-staffed and we'd be on hold forever, but whenever we finally got through, they were helpful and good. One other thing that bugged me about GreenPath was my scheduled day for them to take the money from our bank account was the 23rd, but they always took it out three or four days later. I found that to be a pain. With people who are struggling with making sure their bill's paid and everything's tight, they should take it out that first day. That's when the money's there.

    The program with GreenPath went well and I was able to finish it. It automatically came out of my check every pay period and every once in a while, I get an update or a call that they were changing something, or one account had closed out. The way they contact was nice and it was a good experience. When I started with them a few years ago, it was simple. They were able to take my mortgage credit report and then, they sent us all the forms that we needed to sign to give them clearance to pause the account or get whatever access they needed. There were a couple of times where I wished that as the accounts closed, maybe there was the option to keep the same timeline but reduce the amount being taken out each pay. But it made sense to keep it going and finish it out as soon as possible.

    The most beneficial thing about doing this process is letting things get paid off and not having to keep track of all the different payments. We had a number of different accounts go into it so instead of having to check on each one and figure out when we were supposed to pay, what and how much, it was all done for us. I've recommended GreenPath to some friends who are in the same boat. Any fees that are charged are negligible compared to missed payment fees or the interest.

    The enrolment process was easy and simple. Customer service told me everything. They let me know what my take would be and how long it was going to take for everything to be consolidated.     GreenPath was on top of my debt so I was happy with the service. Everything all the way 'til the end was great. They were able to work with my creditors. The online app was great but I wish the app would have if you want to pay it off. Because I had a call to pay off my debt. From the app, I could have just paid it.     I've had a really good experience with GreenPath. They helped me a lot. Just negotiating with the credit cards was a huge help for me, especially not to be paying as much interest rate as if I was paying regularly. I would, once in a while, go online and check my balance. But other than that, I trusted GreenPath. I paid my whole balance off already. The service was really good, and I’d definitely recommend it.     The debt consolidation program with GreenPath was great. It helped me pay off debts and close out the accounts. I've completed it. I paid that off early. There was one time that I met with the local agent in Brownsville but other than that, everything was done through online chat or their 1-800 number. My initial conversation with a local representative was to get me to sign the contract. The representatives were able to address or answer any questions that I had. If they couldn't, they'd call me back. They're knowledgeable. I loved the program. They had flexible options. Two years into starting my plan with GreenPath, I realized that my ex-husband had left an additional $8,000 in debt. I was able to add those into the loan and have them paid off as well.

    GreenPath's customer service reps were very friendly, very knowledgeable and always easy to deal with.     Their service was really good. I got into them for debt consolidation. I got a few credit cards. They went around, and they got the credit cards to come down on their interest. Some of them were 0%. Then we refinanced and then I just paid GreenPath. When you call GreenPath, you talk to people. It's not some out of country person. It's usually someone right there. I had some issues with the credit cards and GreenPath took care of it for me. I didn't have to do a lot. They're really good, straightforward people.

    It took 25 months to close seven accounts, and the payment plan was fabulous. The process was seamless, and it just worked. A couple weeks ago when I called as we were finishing things up, I told the gentleman I spoke with that GreenPath was fabulous and we would recommend to anyone. We wish we would have known about them a few years earlier so we could have gotten this taken care of even earlier. Now, we are planning on taking what we were paying to GreenPath each month and putting that on our truck payment to get rid of that. We're six years from retirement, so we're looking forward.

    The reps were very personable and knowledgeable and they alleviated the panic that I had.     I called GreenPath once or twice at the beginning of the program but they sent me their statements fairly regularly and I kept up with it, so I knew what was happening. I checked my statements every month, I saw what was going out, and I didn't have any questions. My debt was being paid off and I was happy. So, everything went so smoothly for me that I didn't need to call anymore. The settlement process was so slow at the beginning, but they said I just took it for granted that at the end of X amount of time, it would be done. In fact, my debt was paid off early. I also recommended them to our daughter but she did not qualify. So I was disappointed in that but there was really nothing I could do about it.     GreenPath paid each different creditor an agreed upon amount. However, they said I would be able to pay it off in three years but it took four or five years. I graduated in 2018 the first time and a couple months ago the second time. They set me up with an amount of money they would take out of my account every two weeks when I got my checks. Everything was great even when my job changed and I was not able to pay the amount that I was paying. One of their creditors dropped off, so they worked with me on changing the amount so they would be fitting for my income.

    I was glad that I found GreenPath. At first, I was a skeptic.     The representative that I had during enrollment was extremely kind and very helpful. She did a lot of the legwork on my behalf when I couldn't find certain things. Also, the information she gave was exactly how things went and there were no promises that couldn't be kept. It was all really clear communication and I got a payment plan that worked out perfectly.     I had picked a different company and they were taking the money out but kept telling me, "We don't make any payments until we get a lot of money saved up, and then we start making payments for you." I walked into my bank and I saw the sign for GreenPath -- which was Suffolk Federal Credit Union. I looked it up, I called, and the person that answered was very helpful. I contacted that other company and they wound up reimbursing me the money that I had put into it. GreenPath set up an amount that I could afford. They started paying right away and then they did the withdrawals every week.

    Enrolling with GreenPath was easy and it didn't take very long. They did everything for us as far as payments. Anytime I had to call and question anything, they were able to answer my questions and help. We did a five-year and the program was done before that. We paid everything off in June and that wasn't with paying any extra on our side. While we've got no credit card debt, the only issue I have is that my debt still affects my credit report with it being a write off.

    Also, we just had a miscommunication because one of the cards ended up going to collections. I didn't know about that until I got something from an attorney saying nothing's been paid on it. So, I called GreenPath and the money is sitting there for that card but they never were able to get the correct account information. But that's all resolved now.

    During your initial counseling session, with permission, we obtained a copy of your credit report. I can see the credit cards were past due and it appears one had already charged off by the time the creditor received our proposal. We certainly try our best to see if we can get a payment plan accepted and avoid charge off. I also saw a note where a creditor had a different account number than what we had and that was cleared up in a telephone call. We would be happy to review that with you as well if you'd like!

    The process was fairly easy. They asked me questions, gauged where my debt was, and what I needed assistance on. They let me know what my payment plan was going to be and how often I was gonna have to pay. Then I had to sign some documents and send it back. I got my debt paid off and I'm satisfied. I needed to make it a little easier process to make one payment to them and they dispersed the funds amongst multiple accounts that I had. Also, I was able to add on accounts during the process and it was an easy thing to do. I appreciated that part.

    The only thing was that when GreenPath initially set up the program, some of the debtors didn't accept the agreement but there was never a follow up from GreenPath to try it again with the program. It seemed like they would do an annual review and see if they can get the debtors to at least take a cheaper interest rate or settle for a smaller amount. But that didn't happen after the program was initially set up.

    With regards to re-negotiation of better terms after a creditor has accepted a proposal, I would be happy to speak to that in more detail. We hear you, you want to know you are getting the best rate possible. Upon a proposal being accepted, the creditor has already lowered and reduced their terms to the lowest terms they have available, so there isn't a better term we can get.

    With regards to settling, we are not permitted to contact creditors and negotiate a settlement for our clients. If clients are interested in settling and have the funds to do so, we would have them contact the creditor for arrangements. I would be happy to review this in more detail as well, so you are welcomed to call us and ask for me.

    The process was simple and they were forthcoming with the information that they needed to know. The biggest benefit with GreenPath is the negotiated rate so, I utilized that with the credit cards I could utilize that with but not with my bank credit cards which they didn't have a negotiated rate with because I could manage that myself. Some people might not be able to manage that themselves and would need the assistance of GreenPath.

    I created my own payment plan with the credit cards I couldn’t utilize it with. The rep tried to explain to me but I didn't know the consequences of what he was saying until a month or two into the program. It would be helpful to know the first step and what the consequences are, that they’re gonna negotiate an arrangement with these companies so they don't want to blow it with this company which means that they’ll put me in the plan and they'll help me pay down the debt but it doesn't necessarily mean I'll get a better rate for this particular company. That part would help to be upfront with.

    The rep was not deliberately not giving me the information but I just didn't understand the consequences of what he was saying. I went faster than the timeline. It was a challenge initially getting that into the program to meet those financial goals as I started needing their help. I was under employed for so long so there were a lot of things I was trying to catch up on. But I was satisfied with the timeframe.

    They were extremely helpful. They met with me and the process was very simple. The hardest thing was coming up with a budget. I've never done that before and I wasn't used to doing it. I had to get organized enough to do that. But they were very helpful in how to do it. They gave me good and helpful feedback. So when I did have questions, they were there to answer. There was always somebody available. It might not be the same person, but it was somebody.

    GreenPath helped me get out of my debt and I love them. I was in the program for three years and I didn't have to worry about anything. Customer service was up on things. I made sure I had that money in every paycheck. I made it easier for them because they didn't have to worry about anything.     The enrollment process of GreenPath has been fairly easy. I talked to somebody and I sent him some information and some documents. They did everything, gave me a couple of options and I picked one. Any time I called, they were very helpful and nice. Any questions I've ever asked, they were always right there. Then I could go online and chat with them if I need something also. It was a wonderful experience to do. It never was a hassle. They never bothered me month after month. It was just peace of mind. There was one month that the payment due fell a few days before my paycheck came in and I called. They moved it up a few days or back where it would be right after my paycheck. They were excellent. I would definitely recommend GreenPath.

    It was interesting how GreenPath had its website layout and customer service set up. If there was a link I needed, I was able to find it without searching on their website, which is incredibly not a common thing. Also, the reps are very accommodating and they respond quickly. But setting up an alert system for whether a payment was missed or is coming up would help customers. An alert through SMS would be best, especially since there's an app that already connects to the phone. I'm sure there's a way they could program SMS notifications or enable push notifications or that kind of nature. Other than that, it was an overall simple, straightforward, and manageable experience.

    They told me what they can do, what the program was all about, and how it worked. It sounded like what I was looking for and it turned out that it was.     I completed what the program asked me to pay, and then I got out of it as quickly as I could. The reps were nice. But they said that they were going to do things that they didn't do. So being nice is one thing, but actually doing the thing that you said you're going to do is more important. Also, they told me that the program was completed, but it never linked up one of my accounts. It was never paying for that account. So I still have a debt there. It dinged my credit and hurt it pretty badly. Because I was in this program instead of independently paying things off, it impacted my ability to get a loan.

    I had a very good experience with GreenPath. I wish though that they would have done more as far as debt counseling while I was in the program. That would have been appreciated. Also, one service representative told me something that GreenPath could do but when I inquired about it, they said they couldn't do it. It was something about financial investing after you graduate from the program. But as far as the program went, they did what they were supposed to do. Everybody was really helpful and the program was everything that I needed it to be. They've been really wonderful.     The enrollment process was long. We were so broke and they were asking me questions and trying to break everything down off of my boyfriend's minimum-wage job. It was stressful because they were breaking apart all of our finances and bills according to the little money we had. But since working with GreenPath, there's the ease of not having to deal with creditors. I could just make that one payment to them. They focused on distributing the payments on their due dates and I just had to focus on one due date.

    The only flaw at the time was sometimes I waited forever on hold and the app took a while for it to kind of get up and going. Also, there were a couple of times in the beginning when I was late with GreenPath. I didn't realize for a while that I was behind on payments because they didn't tell me. I wish I knew about that in the beginning. Other than that, I was very satisfied overall. I was able to get out of my debt and not have to think that bankruptcy was the only option. Had it not been for GreenPath, I don't think I would have paid off any of this stuff. I would have waited the whole seven years for my credit.

    GreenPath's enrollment process was easy. The entire process was easy. When cards are done being paid, GreenPath just sends out notices saying, “Hey, just keep in mind that there's interest that accrues. So make sure you pay that once we're done with it.” Say you're consolidating 10 credit cards, and you're paying for it directly to one source, and two or three of them will close that out around the same time, it'd be nice to get a little more education on maybe how to clear those out just so they don’t hit your report. I had somebody hit my credit report like six months ago. It was 12 cents I owed, and it affected my credit. But outside of that, it’s a really seamless process.

    The portal is amazing. It allows me to be able to track my progress through the app and I was able to see where I was. It was cool because I got to reach different milestones in the credit card journey. I'm glad that I did go with GreenPath. My financial literacy has gone up, I’m a lot more conscious about my credit card spending and I feel like I'm a much more responsible credit card user.

    I signed up with GreenPath to regroup with bills and I went into their debt consolidation program. The rep I dealt with was really nice and she explained everything. Whenever I was going to add something on my account, she would tell me it was going to be this much a month and how long they were going to take to work on that. They divided up my payments over so many years then told me how much the monthly payment was going to be. And they told me that because I added more, it would be more. Working with them has been good for me because they were doing what they needed to do. So every now and then, I would call and check on things. I could also just go on the portal and see what was going on. Everything went smoothly.

    I had some personal loans with a credit union and I was having a very difficult time paying them off. The credit union suggested that I look into working with GreenPath. As it turns out, my mom had been in a GreenPath program too for debt management. Enrolling with them was good. The most difficult part was getting my own paperwork together but after that, you just hand it over then they do everything.

    GreenPath saved me. I had about 13,000 in unsecured debt and when it was all said and done, after I had to pay them their cut, I ended up paying around 16 grand. But it was the interest rates and they negotiated them. On some of my cards, it was like 25% so I wasn't making any headway. It was a five-year program and I was done in a little under three and a half years. I made a couple of extra payments here and there on things when I could. If one of my friends was in a similar situation, I would recommend GreenPath to them.

    My credit card companies wouldn't lower the interest rate and they wouldn't negotiate. GreenPath was able to bring the interest rates down to a reasonable amount. Every time I called, I always talked to a person instead of a machine. The representatives were always very helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me figure the lowest amount possible that I could pay to the credit card based on almost no income that I had as I was getting a little bit of unemployment. I paid it all off. It was a great experience. They're fantastic and they help people get back on their feet because when a person has no debt, so many other things can happen. Without them, I would have not been able to get to this point. I am surprised people don't know about them. This is my second time using them. The first time, I had a job, but I was in too much debt, and somebody from Citibank told me about them because the interest rate back then was 32% on a credit card.

    GreenPath was close to my house. I got with somebody and then they reached out to the credit card companies to see if we could get the interest rate lowered down to minimal, if anything. We consolidated three different accounts and then set a payment plan for about 52 months. They were very open and honest when going through my budget and how I wanted to keep one card for a little bit of money. The lady told me that it wasn't going to be enough to do any good so it was better to nip it all in the bud. There was no way I would be able to pay it off otherwise. GreenPath got me out of debt.     GreenPath worked out okay. The reps were all good. We did go in several times and see a different person but mostly, it was done by phone. They were always professional. They were taking 900 bucks almost a month out of my Social Security check. I also had an issue where I got scammed by a student loan organization. I let them do it. I was too excited about getting the interest rate lowered.

    Bank of America was one of my creditors and I would get a paper statement from them. The paper statement would always say Balance, Amount Past Due, and Amount Due. I called somebody early on. When I saw that, I thought, “Well, it’s not past due. You’re taking it out.” They said they would look into it but nothing changed. I just let it go and for the whole how many years I was on the program, those were how the statements were. Before the end, I called back. I talked to somebody different, and they changed this. It didn’t show up that way. It just showed up an amount due.

    With COVID, it’s been hard to get an answer. My credit rating is really low. In fact, I haven’t checked it. It just depresses me. I’m wondering if that past due every month could have affected my credit rating 'cause it showed up every month. They assured me it shouldn’t affect it but I don’t know. I had other issues that could have caused my credit rating to be down so that kinda confuses the situation. But I’m happy it’s all paid off. It took a long time but I’m done now.

    Prior to joining GreenPath, I was fresh out of school and going between job to job, which led me to falling behind on my payments on several of my credit cards as well as a loan. I just enrolled into a credit union called Freedom Credit Union here in Northeast Philadelphia and I asked them for help. There was this program that allowed me to take out a secured loan, pay that off and then a secured credit card, pay that off. Then, I asked for additional help. I wanted to tackle all my other existing debt that I had while being newly inducted into this credit union. So then, they referred me to GreenPath.

    Early on, I had discussed what my payments look like, what were the closed accounts that I had that I definitely needed to pay off. The rep walked me through the process, clear cut and concise. I paid the registration fee and then got going with setting up automatic payments every week to tackle all the debt that had accumulated.

    Moving forward, it was just what they had told me and coached me through was discipline. Make sure that I have money in my checking, that once I have it, I set it and forget it. Then, that's stuck with me throughout the three years. Then, it wasn't until mid-November when I got a call from GreenPath's office and they told me that I was done. But on my GreenPath portal, it said that I wouldn't be done paying everything off until January 2021.

    I was able to cut down every single one of my accounts that I have listed with GreenPath and then get a refund for whatever else was left in my account. For me, with all the hard work, the collaboration and their team being patient with me and whenever I had issues, they were always there to answer the call, I was able to successfully pay off all my closed accounts and get on a better path. I've already promoted GreenPath with a lot of my friends who, just like me, were in the same situation where they didn't know how to go forward with discussing closing options with credit card companies and with loan shareholders.

    GreenPath was recommended as an agency that could help you resolve your debt. It was community-based, so I went with them. I did their credit counseling program. The enrollment was very easy. The program helped me to eliminate my debt. I’ve completed it. Sometimes, it was confusing as to who my counselor really was or the person that I needed to talk to directly. Other than that, GreenPath's reps were honest with me and they encouraged me to keep in the plan. So, it was helpful. They showed me where I was making progress.

    As far as the payment plan, I had to draw up a budget and I had to give them all my outstanding debts. They showed me what I could bring down, how I could pay down all my debts, and still stay within my budget. They made it very affordable for me to pay off my debt. At first, it seemed like three years is going to be a long time. But then as I saw my debt going down, I was encouraged and I stayed with it. Surely enough, I reached a point where I'm totally paid off. I feel free in a sense because I would have never pay this debt off on my own. I would have really been struggling and not making very much progress. So working with GreenPath was a way to clear my debt, bring up my credit score, and I feel very good about that.     I was happy with GreenPath. They didn't bug you. They took the payment out. It was getting close to the end that I did need to cut the money down because I went back to my condo in Florida, and they cooperated with me and cut it down since I only had a year left and that really helped. But then, at the end here, I had to call and see how far I was and one of my plans got paid twice. So, they paid me back. It was a good plan. It was hard at first with that amount of money, but I felt very good as I knew it was getting paid down, and now that it's paid off, it gave me some peace of mind.     What led me to GreenPath was my daughter who was in NICU for eight months. We racked up a bunch of credit card debt and a bunch of other debt because after that, my wife went with renal failure. She had to have a kidney transplant and she had to quit her job. That just racked even more debt. It took us six years to get out of it. GreenPath was recommended by Bank of America. I was very delinquent on it, and their guy recommended GreenPath. The enrollment was very simple and easy. I called and I told GreenPath my situation. At first, I thought, "Is this going to be with Bank of America?" But I was able to put a bunch of other debt on there too. What I liked about it was they took care of it and called everywhere to see what kind of payment I could have. That was what I liked about it. I didn't have to do the dirty work. All I did was get the phone call and they told me how much they were going to withdraw out of my checking a month.

    We completed the program a month ago. October was our last payment and it was to Bank of America. We had anywhere between five to seven different accounts, and we had been paying on it. At one point, we were paying $640 a month. Our credit score has gone up ever since we started with the program. It got really bad when we first started because everything was so delinquent. The advisor I had through GreenPath said, "This is what we're gonna do. We're gonna worry about the bills you absolutely need." That was all I paid for. It’s a good part of six months.

    When I first called GreenPath, I was a little bit embarrassed. But the rep reassured me it's not an embarrassing situation. It was something that they could help me deal with and it was taken care of. After I got off the phone, I felt pretty confident about it. They were very upfront. Everything was done in October. Then the month of November, they told me I had 13 days if I had anything else to put on my account. But after the 13 days, they were gonna close it. It didn't get closed right away. So when November came around, they took out the 300 and some dollars we we're getting taken out every month. They just had to reimburse us that money. That was the only thing out of the whole experience that happened. They were very friendly. I already recommended them to somebody else and they called GreenPath for advice.

    I was with Clarifi before and and I chose them because they had an office here in Philadelphia. There were in-person people that I could contact plus, they offered special classes. Then, they defaulted to GreenPath and when I switched over to them, I just got this letter and I had to kind of figure out everything for myself. I just received information in the mail and I followed the instructions instead of calling. If I did call and seek them out, everything was fine. But they didn't proactively contact me or let me know that my debt was with them already. The switch went pretty smoothly but it would have been nice if people have called me besides just getting a letter in the mail and knowing what was happening. Other than that, I'm all paid out now and everything was fine.

    I was paying almost $1,000 in minimum payments to my credit card debtors each month and it started becoming impossible. I never thought I would see my way out by just paying the minimum payments. My sister-in-law told us about the program with Clarifi. When I talked with them, the payments were cut in half and it was a five-year period. So it definitely made me feel a lot better. Then Clarifi merged with GreenPath. But once they introduced themselves and sent out how to log in, the process was easy. Everything that I established with Clarifi was merged on over.     The last transaction that I had with GreenPath went smoothly. I have finished paying off one card too, and I was able to roll over another card. Then there was overpayment, so they sent me the $10. They were very professional and very well-spoken. They were amazing and I had excellent communication with whoever picked up the phone. But to improve their process, they could reach out every couple of months or couple of weeks, just to see how everything's going. They could ask if we wanted to change the amount or if there was any new program or option that they would ant to share the information with.     When I started with the program, there was some confusion was relating to interest rates that might be gotten because I had balances on a number of credit cards. But also, for example, with three American Express cards, which two am I giving up. But once that was cleared up, which didn't take long, the experience was just fine. They still worked for some time with the staff in Philadelphia, who were always very responsive when I called. And once COVID hit and the calls are being taken out in the Upper Midwest, there was still good responsiveness in communication.

    I dealt with two individuals in particular in the Philadelphia group and things were going so well that I really didn't have much occasion to check in for over a year. Then the COVID hit and after that, it seemed to be whoever got the call. But everyone was very knowledgeable and punctual. I don't know if that would've been true if I had missed payments but we had established a baseline that I could meet and there was never any problem with my payments. So it all went very smoothly. Some folks met their obligations to me, which enabled me to pay off the whole debt a month or so ago.

    I have talked to groups that promise low interest rates and to two individuals who independently have negotiated to get some of the debt eliminated. But that was not my aim. We were at 12% when we negotiated the payments. I wasn't asking for any reduction in the principal. I was just wanting to schedule out the monthly payments at a rate that I was comfortable with and I had hoped that we would be able to negotiate a little lower interest rate.

    Terrible experience with Capital One and Green Path. They’re both crooked. They’re both coldhearted and scams that work together. Won’t lower anything.     Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your experience with GreenPath. GreenPath’s Compliance Department has reviewed your file and this is what we found.

    You contacted us on July 14, 2020 looking for a hardship for your Capital One account. We received a signed Debt Management Program (DMP) agreement from you and through the (DMP) Capital One lowered your annual percentage rate to 1.9%. From reading your review and the notes from when you called us on August 10, 2020, we understand it was upsetting that your Capital One bill did not show the new payment DMP payment of $36 on the August bill statement. On August 10, 2020 the GreenPath employee conference called Capital One with you. The Capital One employee stated they generated your August bill on August 2, 2020 and you were enrolled in the DMP on August 6, 2020. Therefore, the August payment due had not updated to the DMP terms. This means, the difference of the two payments is still due.

    Our DMP agreement states that in order to stay current, clients should pay the difference between the regular monthly payment and the new DMP payment until the creditor updates the terms on the statement. The agreement indicates:

    “What you'll need to know... Until your creditor accepts our proposal, it is suggested that you pay the difference between your minimum payment and the proposed program payment. This is usually suggested if your accounts are current or if you would prefer not to fall further behind.”

    We understand it can be upsetting there is a difference due. We hope that comparing when they generated your bill statement in relationship to when they accepted the proposal, that helps to illustrate why your August payment due is higher than the DMP payment. Please note, it can take creditors 1-3 months to fully enroll the DMP terms once a proposal is accepted. We are confident you have a good program with an amazing interest rate. Should you want to discuss in more detail, please contact us.

    I had a few things I wanted to consolidate and pay off and GreenPath was there when I first started. One of my clients I work with mentioned it, and then I went and inquired about it. They did a phenomenal job. They called me and I got the information and I decided to go ahead. Everything was very professional, informative and helpful.     I was thrilled to use Greenpath but when I completed my payments, I was horrified to find that on my credit report, payments on 2 of the credit cards they were paying were paid AFTER THE DUE DATE for the entire length of my plan. I called Greenpath to ask/report this, and they told me it was not their problem. I find that inexcusable. I am currently disputing this with the credit bureaus myself but I will not be recommending Greenpath to anyone...and to say I am disappointed is a gross understatement.

    We certainly can understand it is upsetting when accounts are reported delinquent and we are happy to provide details as to how and why that happens. If an account is charged off by the creditor before enrolling with GreenPath, we can set up a payment plan to try and prevent further collection activity, however the debt still remains in charge off status. If a debt is not charged off, we need consistent deposits from the client to ensure the creditor payments are made on time.

    If you would like to review your concerns in more detail, please call us at 866-476-7284 with a credit report and we can compare the status of the account before the DMP and then the deposit history to GreenPath. If you do not have a credit report, we can conference call creditors with you and compare the delinquencies in relationship to the deposits to GreenPath. You may also log into your GreenPath portal to view your GreenPath statements to ensure all deposit dollars are accounted for and reconcile it with your creditor statements.

    GreenPath is committed to providing an explanation to better understand the delinquencies should you want to review each account individually.

    It's been wonderful with GreenPath. Once I talked to them, it was no gimmick. It was like, “This is how it is.” I liked how easy they were to work with. They allowed us to pick if there was a card or two that we wanted to keep. That was a huge decision maker also. The enrollment process was good. The most painful part was when they asked all the questions about my income and outgoings but it was necessary. It helped set up the program that was really tailor made to us. I couldn't pay $10 a month and get out of it, but it was doable. Since 2017, we've never missed a payment. It hasn't always been easy, but because I believed in the program, I made sure that the payment was there.

    Their service was good. It was easier once I learned and put in the effort myself to learn the website. The documents were right there. The upgrade they did a little bit ago was also there. What I really liked about it too was if I had extra money up to $500, I could verbally ask them to pull that out and put it on a certain card. I did that on multiple times and realizing if it was over 500 that I would have to send an email. The flexibility in the program was really big for me also.

    For some companies, you call and talk to one representative and they tell you something. Then you call again and another one tells you something else. It wasn't like that with GreenPath when I would call in, no matter who I got, to do a transaction or ask a question. Something else that I really liked, especially towards the end was when I was trying trying to pay everything off quicker. They reached out to that card company. Even though I would do it online, they would call them right there and get that balance. That was really nice and helpful.

    I’m debt free now and I feel really good. GreenPath really enabled me to even learn how to manage better. I was married 29 years and I wasn't gonna take all of the burden. Even though I took 3/4, GreenPath was able to split it in the middle of the program. That was huge for me, and it was not painful at all. It was rather amazing and I was shocked. The way the society is now, you can't really trust a lot of people let alone companies because there are certain companies that are out to take your money. They're hurtful. They're not really out to help you. But I can truly say that GreenPath really helped me and I think that that's their goal - to really help people, not to get over on them.

    Three years ago, my husband and I contracted pneumonia. While we were in the hospital, somebody hit me and charged up our Amazon card to the max. I tried to get to the bottom of it when we got out of the hospital. There was total lack of cooperation and the card itself said they would only deal with their own bank. They assigned GreenPath to help me make payments on it monthly and I just paid it all off two months ago with my first stimulus check, but GreenPath kept taking money out of the bank. The bank notified me that they were still doing that and the bank put a stop on it.

    GreenPath called me and I told them what was happening. They know the account was closed so they sent me paperwork that it was. But the bank that the card is through has not reimbursed me for the two payments it took. They put it on the card which is supposed to be canceled so that this couldn't happen again. But they won't cancel the card so somebody could do it again. They said they would look into it but I haven't heard anymore. It's terrifying and I don't know what to do. I am wondering if I need to get a lawyer.

    I've been going through the process with GreenPath for 3 years. That's quite too long. The rep was very polite over the phone, but nothing got done except that I did get a paper that said it was paid in full. That came from GreenPath, not from the bank that issued the card. I don't know if they're connected and she didn't know either. She said she would check into it. They must be connected somehow or how could GreenPath make the payments to that bank or at the card? That's where I’m a little disturbed that something isn't right.

    Thank you for posting a review with your concerns. We are sorry to hear that the debt was used/charged when you and your husband were sick. First and foremost, if you feel the charges were fraudulent, please pursue your rights as a card holder.

    The Compliance Team researched your file, listened to a call, called Amazon, and called you in response to your review. Our records show that you called the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and were referred to GreenPath. You chose to enroll in a Debt Management Program to obtain more favorable terms on your Amazon card. The review states you have been with us for 3 years, our records show the agreement was signed on 7/9/2018.

    On 7/3/2020 GreenPath initiated a scheduled withdrawal from your bank account and it was returned for “payment stopped” on 7/9/1010. An employee called on 7/10/2020 to review the returned deposit to GreenPath and you explained you stopped it because you paid off Amazon with your stimulus check. The employee stated creditors do not give us balance updates and thanked you for the update as we had an estimated balance on file of $1003.59. She then explained we need to close your program, congratulated you, and encouraged you to obtain a paid in full letter from Amazon. In the call you mentioned we need to check who we are working with as you tried to call and the phone number was no longer in service. The employee offered to give our phone number and it was declined.

    In response to your review, on 8/10/2020 GreenPath called Amazon (Synchrony) and they advised the account was paid in full with a credit balance of $60 and indicated they will refund the $60 after 2 billing cycles. An employee of our Compliance Department called you on 8/10/2020 called you to review your concerns and explained the $60 would be sent after 2 billing cycles. She offered to conference call Synchrony and the offer was not accepted. She offered the Synchrony customer service phone number twice and that was not accepted. The conversation was not finished as the call was disconnected. The review states that you have not received a paid in full letter from Synchrony. This is something that can be requested from Synchrony. You did state in your call on 7/10/2020 the debt is showing paid in full. We know it is upsetting to think we may have intentionally overpaid Amazon. Your GreenPath agreement specifically states, “contact an AMC prior to directly paying a creditor. Paying creditors directly will affect any concessions or arrangements made by an AMC on your behalf”.

    With regards to the account being closed, generally speaking a creditor will close an account when a proposal is accepted through the debt management program. This prevents a cardholder from making additional charges. With regards to your GreenPath account, that account was closed when we called you to discuss the return deposit to GreenPath on 7/10/2020.

    GreenPath sent you a message via your GreenPath portal on 8/10/2020 offering to conference call Synchrony should you choose to accept our offer.

    GreenPath made it possible for us to pay off $50,000 of credit card debt in 4.5 years!! It was very hard, and there were times we felt we may have committed to a higher payment plan than we could afford but we wanted to be free of this debt as quickly as possible. We also knew that if we needed to make adjustments to our payment GreenPath would have been able to do that. We will be using them for our student loan debt as well!! I've recommended GreenPath to scores of people as debt is a massive and growing problem in our country.     A few years ago, I was drowning in credit card debt and I had tried credit counseling and even an financial consultant. None of their advice was tenable. I work long hours and have a long commute as it is, so a second job was not an option. Then a friend told me that he and his wife used Green Path and I called to see if they could help me.

    Not only was the representative extremely friendly but she was also understanding and helpful. Eventually I gave her my information and after a while GP gave me a plan. I will say that the monthly payment they negotiated was higher than I had expected or wanted, but the only alternative was to go with an agency that settles for a payoff with the banks and the only hit that is worse to your credit than that is bankruptcy.

    It did require that I struggle with the payment for a few years. I had to stop traveling and curtail expenditures and it wasn't easy. But I maintained a decent credit rating and finally got the payment completed. I would recommend Green Path to anyone. They are helpful, concerned and their staff is among the nicest such people I've encountered.
