It was easier to get started with GreenPath. Also, I can log in and look at my progress. But if it has been a year and we want to talk to somebody, they should just let us talk to someone and review things. We might wanna refresh over paying these creditors back and looking at the credit report again. Or just review credit and getting feedback on it. Other than that, it was affordable. So even though I made small payments, I was still able to get things paid off that I may not have paid if I didn't try to give them anything. It's still a good service. I'm happy.

There was absolutely no personal outreach. Every time I called, which was many times, I got a different person. Most of the phone operators were in a hurry to get things done, and not one of them ever followed up or reached out again! I don’t remember anyone’s name, including the very first person who picked up the phone on me. And she told me, five years ago, that she would be my “primary,” whatever that means. No information was ever provided, except what was absolutely necessary. AND info about my balances was always WRONG! You never check with the credit card companies; that was always up to me. The experience never exceeded whatever was required to get the job done!

My sister helped me with the process. We did a conference call and discussed my debt and it was real easy. It didn't take very long. We got it all signed up, and then they told us how much I was gonna pay a week and how long it was gonna take me to pay it off. Then the next week, I started making payments and it was awesome. I was able to get connected with Greenpath through the Bank of America card that I was trying to get that balance down. Greenpath helped me with that, and I was able to get another credit line down as well. When Greenpath came out with a combined payment with an interest rate for both of the accounts, it really helped out a lot. I was able to get that thing caught up and brought down good enough to where now I can take care of the rest of it on my own. Their communication was great. When I got into the position to pay off the rest of the credit card on my own, they helped me get that last payment. They told me, “Okay. Well, we'll go ahead and cancel the payment that normally comes out every month.” That way, I don't incur another charge, and it worked out. They made that transition easy for me.

I like the plan at GreenPath. They were charging 75 a month for their fees. Overall, it was gonna help me reach my goal, which was trying to get freed. They did all the heavy lifting. They reached out to all the creditors. They figured out what the APR was going to be for each one, tried to get them to negotiate down to what they thought was appropriate, and something that matched my budget. We were able to work something out and within four years, I was able to get out of all of that. They also have an app. They'll tell you all the past payments you've made on it and all the future payments that are coming up on it. When I would call them, the wait time was never more than a few minutes. They always answered and addressed everything I needed.

I asked for hardship relief and one of my creditors said they used GreenPath debt management. I had looked at some others on my own. Their fee seemed higher. I availed of GreenPath's program. It was very easy to get in touch with them, which was refreshing. They were somebody in America and I really appreciated that. I didn't have to try to understand, have them understand me, and me understand them. When you're talking about money and the person is not understanding you, and you're like, "Oh, let me speak to someone in America."

Customer service was helpful and readily available. They were knowledgeable and knew what to do. I only called them again when I was getting ready to pay everything off and close it up. I paid a weekly fee and they just chopped away at my debt. I didn't want to pay that weekly amount but it was easier than just watching myself go further and further into the hole and not be able to pay at all. I'm done with the program now.

GreenPath’s program was the most outstanding thing I have ever been through. It is super simple to set up and then just forget about it and let it run in the background. There's a website that keeps you informed of every single penny and wherever every single penny goes, you never have a question where a dollar is going and when something's not paid off. It is awesome. There was one rep who set it up but every time you call, anybody that you get is just as knowledgeable. The website is designed by somebody that's shockingly good at it because you hardly ever have questions. You can just watch what's happening. Over the years, I may have had to call three times with a question about terms, like one of the credit cards being paid off. You always get a thing that tells you to check and make sure it's 0 because if cents could be left, they can charge you late fees of cents.

You can run credit cards up and you're screwed forever without somebody on your side that can negotiate. But by working with GreenPath, most of them went to very low, like 1% and I finished the program in four and three months. It was a five-year program and I paid $600 every two weeks. I've recommended GreenPath. I know six people that went on the program because of me and they were just as shocked and amazed. Some people are just not able to handle it. You've got to stick with it. $1,200 a month is a lot of money but you know that if you do it, it will finally get paid off.

Somebody referred me to GreenPath to help take care of my credit card debt. I realized that I would have to not use the credit card anymore, but I was with it. I love GreenPath. I was with them for about four years and seven months. Everything was great because they never bothered me. They receive my message when something changes. When I called to ask for something, they would give me the right answer or explain to me what was what. I highly recommend GreenPath to anybody. The people that I talked to from GreenPath were really helpful and I ended up going with them right off the bat. I had a credit card that I was swimming in and they helped me get the interest charges almost down to zero. That way, what I was paying towards it was going towards the principal. We went over my income and the distribution of my income, which wasn't a lot at the time. They gave me advice on budgeting in addition to helping me set up the repayment as well. I don't think I would have that card paid off now if I hadn't done the program. I would fully recommend others to seek out GreenPath if that was a need that they had.

Everybody was wonderful, and they listened to the whole story. Greenpath helped me because it was only one payment. They saved the money and made all the payments. I've had to do change the date a couple of times over the five years that I spent with them, and as long as I called with enough time, they were kind and changed it. All the representatives assisted me in my own language, which is Spanish, and they were very pleasant. I called a couple of times out of the office time for questions. One time, I tried to call on a Saturday, but then I realized that they have certain times. When I was trying to not forget the question, I just left a message on the website, and they usually responded to me 24 hours later.

At the beginning, I didn’t feel like going with Greenpath was a good decision because my credit score went down very bad than it already was and my accounts were closed. But now, I feel that it was the best, because I didn’t have to pay all those charges, APRs and late fees. The day when I made the last payment, I noticed my score went down and I got worried, but last night, I noticed that the score went up 35 points. Now, I’m on good standing with my credit score.

I know others may question if signing up with GreenPath may cause uncertainty and question if it was a good idea. In order to get concessions from creditors, the accounts are closed by the creditors, which can be uncomfortable at first. When creditor accounts are closed or if an account falls 30 days late while transitioning onto the DMP, a client may see a change in their credit score. GreenPath was fabulous. The application process didn't take long, as long as you had your information. It was just giving them the account numbers and phone numbers for the contacts. And if I had a statement, I could upload it. So, it was very easy and their reps were so helpful. It wasn't like I was talking to someone and they pushed me off on someone else. If I had a question, they immediately answered it and if I wanted to make extra payments, they didn't give me any hassle. Then, if I had one little debt that was only $50, I would pay it out. Then, I would ask for my overall payment to be reduced since that was paid off and they gave me no issue about that.

They reduced my payments in half, if not more, than what I was normally paying by myself. They were taking that one payment from me and handling the disbursement. Initial contract with James ** was excellent. I needed a letter for a reverse mortgage. My credit is perfect and it went through without a hitch. However since then I have been inundated with phone calls and emails to improve my credit. I have made numerous attempts to stop these to no avail. Today I called again and was treated rudely by an agent who demanded a passcode. I explained that I have cancer and I don't recall code and there must be another way. I offered name, phone, address, social to no avail. He hung up om me! I phoned again and held for 19 minutes. Reached Cathy who quickly resolved issue with my phone #. Previous agent needs to be educated and reprimanded. Highly competitive business but they won't get any more of mine or anyone I know. The enrollment with GreenPath was easy and they took some information. They ran my credit report and they saw the debt I had. They gave me a representative to work with and they got me set up. They did mostly all of the legwork contacting the different companies and credit consumers. They were on top of it from that point. Customer service was patient and they want to make sure that whatever you need to get done, they do their job to make sure that your questions are being answered. I was really impressed during the COVID time. A lot of people, including myself, had tough times making those payments and they spoke on my behalf and reached out to my consumers in regards to pushing payments back, making sure it didn't affect my credit report, and worked with me when I was able to start making payments to get back caught up.

GreenPath was associated with my credit union and I didn't pay a monthly cost to GreenPath directly. I have just recently paid off all debt that I had under GreenPath. That really helped streamline the monthly bills that I had coming in. Initially, GreenPath did a good job trying to get the program set up. But through COVID, it was kind of a nightmare. There was zero help. There was no leeway. It was a tough program to stay true to during loss of jobs and not having what I needed in order to make sure that payment was still being made. If I had a change in job, I had to scrounge to get money from somewhere else in order to make sure the payment was done on time, otherwise, I would have been delinquent on the program. They could have people put 1% into a side account for when it's more of an emergency.

I didn't miss a single payment but even when I completed the program, they tried to charge me an extra $30 at the end and made the last payment an incorrect amount, which was tacky after paying off $21,000 in five years. They also did not reach out very often. But I'm very appreciative that they helped me get the debt paid off. I'm glad that they were there to help drop the interest rates down and were trusted by those companies to make it something that was achievable.

If a client needed to cancel/postpone payments, we always honored that request. With regards to putting money in a side account, we are unable to act as a savings account. If money is deposited to us, states have requirements of how quickly we have to send that money to a creditor.

Anytime I've been on the phone with Greenpath, it's always been professional and they've always gotten done what I had needed from them at that time. I would occasionally call in. If I had a change that I needed to make, or if I was trying to pay down anything faster, they walk me through what the options are, lay out that path and make sure that everything was clear and understood on my end on what those kind of changes would be.

Greenpath has been pretty good, because they were able to negotiate down the interest rates for me to reduce the amount. They're obviously short-staffed and we'd be on hold forever, but whenever we finally got through, they were helpful and good. The program with GreenPath went well and I was able to finish it. It automatically came out of my check every pay period and every once in a while, I get an update or a call that they were changing something, or one account had closed out. The way they contact was nice and it was a good experience. When I started with them a few years ago, it was simple. They were able to take my mortgage credit report and then, they sent us all the forms that we needed to sign to give them clearance to pause the account or get whatever access they needed. There were a couple of times where I wished that as the accounts closed, maybe there was the option to keep the same timeline but reduce the amount being taken out each pay. But it made sense to keep it going and finish it out as soon as possible.

The most beneficial thing about doing this process is letting things get paid off and not having to keep track of all the different payments. We had a number of different accounts go into it so instead of having to check on each one and figure out when we were supposed to pay, what and how much, it was all done for us. I've recommended GreenPath to some friends who are in the same boat. Any fees that are charged are negligible compared to missed payment fees or the interest.

The debt consolidation program with GreenPath was great. It helped me pay off debts and close out the accounts. I've completed it. I paid that off early. There was one time that I met with the local agent in Brownsville but other than that, everything was done through online chat or their 1-800 number. My initial conversation with a local representative was to get me to sign the contract. The representatives were able to address or answer any questions that I had. If they couldn't, they'd call me back. They're knowledgeable. I loved the program. They had flexible options. Two years into starting my plan with GreenPath, I realized that my ex-husband had left an additional $8,000 in debt. I was able to add those into the loan and have them paid off as well.

I called GreenPath once or twice at the beginning of the program but they sent me their statements fairly regularly and I kept up with it, so I knew what was happening. I checked my statements every month, I saw what was going out, and I didn't have any questions. My debt was being paid off and I was happy. So, everything went so smoothly for me that I didn't need to call anymore. The settlement process was so slow at the beginning, but they said I just took it for granted that at the end of X amount of time, it would be done. In fact, my debt was paid off early. I also recommended them to our daughter but she did not qualify. So I was disappointed in that but there was really nothing I could do about it. GreenPath paid each different creditor an agreed upon amount. However, they said I would be able to pay it off in three years but it took four or five years. I graduated in 2018 the first time and a couple months ago the second time. They set me up with an amount of money they would take out of my account every two weeks when I got my checks. Everything was great even when my job changed and I was not able to pay the amount that I was paying. One of their creditors dropped off, so they worked with me on changing the amount so they would be fitting for my income.

I was glad that I found GreenPath. At first, I was a skeptic. But after receiving confirmations from the creditors that we had entered into agreement and what I needed to do going forward, I knew the program was something that was going to be very helpful. I had picked a different company and they were taking the money out but kept telling me, "We don't make any payments until we get a lot of money saved up, and then we start making payments for you." I walked into my bank and I saw the sign for GreenPath -- which was Suffolk Federal Credit Union. I looked it up, I called, and the person that answered was very helpful. Enrolling with GreenPath was easy and it didn't take very long. They did everything for us as far as payments. Anytime I had to call and question anything, they were able to answer my questions and help. We did a five-year and the program was done before that. We paid everything off in June and that wasn't with paying any extra on our side. While we've got no credit card debt, the only issue I have is that my debt still affects my credit report with it being a write off.

Also, we just had a miscommunication because one of the cards ended up going to collections. I didn't know about that until I got something from an attorney saying nothing's been paid on it. So, I called GreenPath and the money is sitting there for that card but they never were able to get the correct account information. But that's all resolved now.

During your initial counseling session, with permission, we obtained a copy of your credit report. I can see the credit cards were past due and it appears one had already charged off by the time the creditor received our proposal. We certainly try our best to see if we can get a payment plan accepted and avoid charge off. I also saw a note where a creditor had a different account number than what we had and that was cleared up in a telephone call. We would be happy to review that with you as well if you'd like!

The process was fairly easy. They asked me questions, gauged where my debt was, and what I needed assistance on. They let me know what my payment plan was going to be and how often I was gonna have to pay. Then I had to sign some documents and send it back. I got my debt paid off and I'm satisfied. I needed to make it a little easier process to make one payment to them and they dispersed the funds amongst multiple accounts that I had. Also, I was able to add on accounts during the process and it was an easy thing to do. I appreciated that part.

The only thing was that when GreenPath initially set up the program, some of the debtors didn't accept the agreement but there was never a follow up from GreenPath to try it again with the program. It seemed like they would do an annual review and see if they can get the debtors to at least take a cheaper interest rate or settle for a smaller amount. But that didn't happen after the program was initially set up.

I reviewed your DMP and I see that all the creditors accepted a proposal. One creditor requested a higher payment, however I see the proposal was accepted within 5 weeks of the debt being added. If you want to connect about this in more detail, please give us a call and ask for me.

With regards to re-negotiation of better terms after a creditor has accepted a proposal, I would be happy to speak to that in more detail. We hear you, you want to know you are getting the best rate possible. Upon a proposal being accepted, the creditor has already lowered and reduced their terms to the lowest terms they have available, so there isn't a better term we can get.

With regards to settling, we are not permitted to contact creditors and negotiate a settlement for our clients. If clients are interested in settling and have the funds to do so, we would have them contact the creditor for arrangements. I would be happy to review this in more detail as well, so you are welcomed to call us and ask for me.
