So, I had a chat with a customer service rep online, she was rude and not helpful and in the end, ended up canceling my account. She did not fully communicate with me correctly and advised me what I needed to do and over 48 hours later, my card was cancelled just like that. I was the one that had to cancel it online not her and there you go. Cancelled. People have bad days and I respect all even if they are rude. I called today to see why this was done and ran into a customer service rep on the phone named Christine. RE: ** She and her manager helped me reinstate my cc. All it takes is one person that has empathy over another person who is driven for negative. If whomever from the company ever reads this, give this girl Christine kudos, she can direct you to the manager. I do not know who it was.

Hello. I had Old Navy cc for nearly 5 years, with no problems whatsoever. Recently and by the beginning of August, I received an email from Old Navy saying that they are promoting me to a new status (notice I didn’t ask for this) Then they informed me that I will receive my new card within 5-7 business days. After 10 days the card wasn’t there and I got worried, and I called the bank to let them know that the card didn’t make it to me yet. The person on the phone assured me that it’s late and she will issue another card. Then on the same day, I received the late card. I tried to call the bank and tell them no need for the new cc, but it was late. I also discovered that the person who helped me closed my card and she didn’t inform me. For over a week I had no card, and this was a huge inconvenience for me.

In the meantime I had paid the amount of $3700 online towards my card on August 7th. Three weeks from that day and I couldn’t see this amount reflected on my account. I called the bank to realize that they can see the amount but they don’t know where the money went!!! I let them know that the amount was taken out of my other account and it was cleared from my bank. I also provided the tracking numbers and all the information they asked for. I was assured that they had received the amount and it will reflect on my account. Three weeks later I receive a statement to say that my balance is -$3700!!!! I called the bank again and asked what is the reason for that, the answer was ‘’Oh! We owe you this money because we had taken it twice from your bank, and we will issue you a check with this amount”. I got the check and thought it will be over.

Three weeks after that I had another statement with the $3700 on it, and when I asked I was told to pay the amount I received via check because it was a mistake. I asked the person to connect me with another employee to confirm this and she hung up on me after being on the phone with the bank for 2 hours! Now I need you to know that I believe it’s a fraud and I need help, because I don’t know what is going on with the bank. PLEASE HELP. GUIDE ME. IT’S A NIGHTMARE AND I WANT IT TO BE OVER.

I do not usually write reviews, but my experience in dealing with Old Navy credit card fraud charges has change it. I reported back in June 5 fraud charges that appeared on my card. A representative was very helpful in opening an investigation for all of them. I ended up following up 2 more times since charges were not reversed in July or August, but each time was told that it takes time and not to worry about that. Still in September it was showing a balance. After talking to 3 representatives including two managers and spending almost two hours on the phone I was told that everything was credited back.

The frustration was that everyone spoke very confidently, but none really listened and wanted to look if they made a mistake including the last investigation manager, Angela. I explained in the fifth time how many fraud charges took place and was told that all of them were credited. She kept repeating the same thing instead of looking into each charge separately. She was too confident to start thinking and looking. I almost felt that I was incorrect. The end result was that they missed one fraud charge. What a surprise?! Despite my initial call when all fraud charges were listed one was missing. I do not think that Old Navy credit card is worth of 2 hours of arguments and 3 months of waiting to settle the fraud issue. Hire competent people and train them well.

I finally got an answer from one of their customer service agents. The site is migrating from the credit card company to the Old Navy Gap store account and should be completed by 9/3/2021.

    Original Review: Aug. 20, 2021

Old Navy changed their credit card to Gap and changed the rewards system which now is only available on their store website. Unfortunately, thousands and thousands of points are stuck in pending with no plans for them to fix it! I’m not sure why, but they may be denying points for certain purchases? At any rate currently there are nearly 100,000 of my points sitting in pending purgatory that they are not converting so I can use them! I will probably need to start using a different card. Beware! I also think their completely throttled their points returns so they are much less favorable. So where I was receiving $250 in value each month now it’s about $86. If you were relying on this card to help pay for your kids' clothes it’s changed dramatically. I’ll probably stop shopping at Old Navy and start spending more at Target and anywhere else.

For no reason, and no explanation, my available credit was dropped by $1000. This then put a ping on my perfect credit record. They need to place a statement on your credit report stating reason “why”. Eg: not spending enough, not using enough, late payment, etc. I have not used this card since Dec 2019.

I just opened the Old Navy credit card yesterday. I received 20% off my original order. It did take a couple of times to enter the discount code on their website only because I sent order to another address. Corrections had to be made on my part. That 20% is beneficial to me at this time.

Each month we pay our bill in full. The payment is taken, but the balance does not become available for as long at 2 weeks. After multiple call and hours wasted, no one in customer service could explain this. Ultimately, the response we finally got (which still didn’t make sense) was that the card company holds our payments for 10-14 days without opening the balance back up so the card can be used (for the first 6 months after opening the card). Why? No one could offer an explanation for that.

My credit is good and we keep no balance on there that isn’t paid off within a week or two (always before the due date). There is nothing indicating that I could be a risk of nonpayment. Also, my available balance/available credit changes almost daily, despite not having used the card or made payments for up to a week. None of this makes any sense. I will say that I enjoy the benefits of using the card (when I’m able to). I’ve already received $150 in rewards and have only had the card a few months. That’s why I’m giving it two stars. If it were up to the quality of their customer service however, I would give them zero.

I made a purchase on 10/14. It was "Prime Day" for Old Navy and a ton of other stores and they were having a huge sale. I went on Synchrony to make a payment on 10/17 (early like I always do) and noticed a charge for 10/16 that went through. I did not make this purchase so I contacted their fraud department. I've worked in fraud for several years and am ACAM certified so I am very familiar with how fraudulent activity occurs, however this seemed a bit odd to me. When I asked the fraud specialist how this transaction occurred with the card still in my possession, on a secure web browser (their website), and without the activity being available in my transaction history, I was told that I wasn't able to be given this information and that it would be available at a later time in a letter that would be sent out to me.

In the meantime, my current card would be shut down and they would be sending me out a new one. So after doing a bit of investigating, I am seeing that there are a ton of reviews about Synchrony shutting down credit accounts. Perhaps this is to cover up a huge data breech within their system and to avoid costs and fines associated with a breech. If you have a card, my suggestion would be to monitor your account activity and you bank account activity, because there is usually a domino affect. I've had my card since 2006 and never had an issue, perhaps Old Navy should look into using a different organization for their credit services.

I’ve had an Old Navy Card for a while now and never had an issue. I’ve never been late on a payment and I haven’t even had a balance on the card since January 'cause I always pay it off immediately. Then I just get notified by Credit Karma that Old Navy closed my account!? So I called them up to asked why and she says “they randomly do credit checks quarterly” and I said okay??? I have great credit and in fact my credit is better than when I first applied for the card???? Then I asked her if I could speak to someone because this is clearly a mistake and having them close it will absolutely negatively impact my credit score and she said “sorry, no, but they will send a letter in the mail”???‍♀️ Honestly, I don’t care enough about Old Navy to give this one more ounce of my time but I will say that I won’t be shopping there anymore. I'm already a big Old Navy fan so shopping there for the entire family is a no brainer. Plus, the points offered are usually really good as I can usually earn an average of $40 a billing cycle to use. The card is a Visa so it's offered pretty much everywhere and the customer service has always been really good.

I spent time ordering clothes for my granddaughter. When I went to check out, I received an offer to open a credit card and I would receive 30% off my purchase. I opened a credit card, received the temp card online with the code to use to get the 30% off. When I entered the code, it would not redeem. I did it several times and it would not redeem. I placed a gift card in and it did redeem. I tried calling the company- higher than normal calls, after an hour I hung up because no one would pick up. I called back hours later and this time the automated system said to call back later. By this time, my order disappeared. So now I have to order a new set of clothing -about an hour trying to remember what I ordered earlier.

Again, would not take my code when checking out. Tried calling and this time after about 15 min somebody picked up and then they hung up, never talking to me. I called back and asked for credit card. A young man picked up. I explained my issue and he said he would transfer me over to the same place I have had issues with all day-no answer or hanging up on me. I just told him I was done with Old Navy and to just cancel the card because I would never, ever shop there again-too frustrating. There are too many other stores to spend my money. Their credit card system is horrible and their customer service does not exist. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE-THEY ARE INADEQUATE!!!!

Why would they even do a credit review, my credit history with other businesses shouldn't play a part in their decision. My history with Old Navy should be what counts. I thought paying off my account was a positive thing and would help my credit. If I missed a payment or late with a payment, then a credit review would make sense. I noticed that many of these reviews are similar to mine. Old Navy isn't the one who made the decisions, Synchrony bank set the rules and guidelines. However Old Navy should reconsider what bank is contracted to handle the credit cards. They are really giving Old Navy a bad name and causing them to lose customers. Don't bother with this card. At first, the perks and rewards were great and seemed worth the risk of the card. I was wrong. The first 6 months I had this card, I had no troubles. Then when I would schedule my payment, they would accept, it would show on my account and then the next month send me literature saying I didn't pay, with a new bill. I would call, get it resolved and schedule a new payment. This happened four times. I was round and round on the phone with completely unhelpful, rude customer service people. Eventually, I got a manager on for it and they told me paying online is just a "promise to pay" and not a real payment, never mind that I had paid online several times before with no issue before the website changed.

From there, they apologized for the inconvenience and they accepted my payment for the money I owed (Without the fees) in full over the phone, and I closed the card because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. This should have been the end, but lo and behold a couple months later, I get a bill from Midland collections who say I now owe over 500 dollars from the Synchrony Old Navy account that was sold to them. (FYI, I didn't even have 500 dollars on the card. I don't keep big credit limits.) I am just floored with how unprofessional this entire circumstance is. It's put a bad scar on my credit that I've disputed several times with TransUnion. I am never late with payments and was never late with this one. The representative are not helpful and will not budge on getting your account unlocked or reopened but will suggest you to just sign up for a new account. They push you to sign for a new account, but I would not recommend it. Especially, since you will be expecting the same problem with locked or closed accounts with the new card. 100% NOT WORTH GETTING, YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

I opened a Navy card and when I did in the store they said I could not even use it that day. I never did use it... I decided to close it as it is not necessary to have. The person kept asking me what my birthday was and I said I already told you. Three times they asked if I would reconsider keeping it open. I said no. They then said this will go on my credit report...

Old Navy begged me to apply for a credit card. I kept receiving email after email saying, "You’re pre-approved!" So I applied. They gave me a $300 credit limit, which was fine. I used it but didn't max it out. They lowered my credit limit to $200. No notice by mail, phone call, or email. I didn’t use the card again because with a credit limit that low, I didn’t want to have a high balance. I was paying it off. I made my last payment this month, which was $5. They closed my account. Again, no notice by mail, phone call or email. I never went over my limit and all my payments were made on time. I’ve never seen a company harass people to get a card and then drove them away and ruin their credit. I’m pretty sure this is why my Equifax dropped 24 points.

I went to use my Old Navy card this afternoon and it was declined, funny I just paid off the account in full. Get home to find a letter stating ‘after review’ they’ve closed my account for ‘derogatory accounts/open public judgement etc’. Um, nope don’t have any of those. So I called customer service, which was unhelpful and very aggravating. I was told they reviewed the account and it was accurate and the account had been closed. I asked when they reviewed the account and she told me on June 2nd.

I asked when was the previous review and she said April 2nd. Funny again... in April there was a $100 balance on the card and in May there was a $50 balance on the card. On June 1st I paid the account off, a measly $2.45. Apparently the practice is to close accounts ‘at random’ with $0 balances, I guarantee that if I hadn’t paid the account off I never would have received a letter and the account wouldn’t have been closed. This ‘bank’ is a sham and scam, I will never shop at Old Navy, Banana Republic or any affiliations again. I know it won’t mean anything to them, but it’s principle to me and that means everything. I have a both a car loan and a car lease with BMW with both perfectly paid on time, we own our home with no mortgage as we paid that in full also! I also have owned my own business since 2011 with my business credit in very good standing. Hmmm...but they felt the need to cancel my card because I am a credit risk? Really, with every single payment made on time every single month, both myself and my husband having very good incomes and always paying our finances on time every single month. I am very confused...maybe I should have been late so they could have made extra fees off of me.

I even ran all 3 of my annual credit reports just to make sure I was not missing something because I am that paranoid about making sure all my payments are made on time and all was great along with my credit score. Not a credit card company I would ever recommend and this is coming from a upper middle class homeowner and business owner with a very good credit standing.

This is a horrible way to conduct business.

This shouldn't surprise me because their customer service is TERRIBLE! If you opt for paper statements, you CANNOT view your account history or account statements online. The company they use to when you call customer service has very limited information and are not very helpful. Even before shutting my account on me, I really felt their customer service and the way they run their online portal is just HORRIBLE. It's extremely antiquated. The Old Navy store is a budget store, so they run their credit card in a way that treats everyone like poor, untrustworthy, no frills manner. Save your credit score... PASS on this Credit Card!

Just adding on to everyone else's horrid experiences with Old Navy and Synchrony Bank. I was given runaround by online chat representative for 25 minutes, I asked many, many times to speak to a supervisor, because they charged me a late fee for purchases last month even though this was the first bill I'd received. I always pay my bill in full when I receive it, and ONLY have the credit card because I'm supposed to get discounts/deals if I use it. With no questions or arguments, the first online chat rep said they would credit me the late fee of $25. I told him I didn't want a credit, because that means I only get my money back by buying more from Old Navy; if this is the way they do business (which it clearly is based on so many others' experiences), I will not spend any more money there.

Eventually he agreed to connect me via online chat with a "manager" whose name was "Peyton **" Peyton ** greeted me by name, I greeted him back, then I waited. After 7 minutes of being told I was connected to a representative, suddenly it said, "The session has ended," and indeed, I was disconnected. After that hour-plus of wasted time, I called the customer service number. I was denied contact with a supervisor for at least 20 minutes, told they could not give me any more information about the person I was speaking to at Synchrony Bank other than his first name, supposedly "Tennyson," and that he could not give me the name, or even a phone number or location for a supervisor, if he did ever connect me with one.

I waited for 28 minutes on hold for a supervisor, and finally got "Clyde." He was rude, told me he didn't know anything about my complaint/call, that he couldn't see any notes on my account about what was going on, and couldn't even pull up the "reference number" given to me by the online chat rep. What became clear is that Old Navy makes it a practice of charging everyone late fees, and only reversing them if someone is willing to waste 2 hours disputing them.

The supervisor "Clyde" also started out by immediately saying I hadn't been speaking to anyone at Synchrony Bank in my online chat, but to Old Navy, so that was why he didn't know what my complaint was about. I read to him from the transcript of my online chat, and only then did he acknowledge that maybe I had spoken to Synchrony. AS soon as I get my late fee refunded, I am closing my account. DO NOT get a credit card from this company! I am lucky because we have really good credit, but I still have to check to see if this experience has affected my credit score.

I was reluctant but I'm only 20 and this is my first ever credit card. To be honest, if I had just read this review prior I would most likely have shown this site to her. I've paid most of my monthly payments on time or ahead of time, but I just find it a bit frustrating but there's these stupid interest charges of almost $6 every month, and to me $6 can be so crucial as a student.

I've been getting them on my statements even when I've been paying on time, and it just seems like I'm not even buying a lot but somehow my balance doesn't even feel like it's going down. To sum it up, I'm really considering cancelling this card once I pay it off. I think my mom might be mad if I do, but I've been the only one paying this card off with my work study money, which honestly does not reach very far, and I hate the idea that I sometimes struggle with paying other necessities or even saving money because I have to pay into this stupid card.

Synchrony Bank is holding erroneous "pending charges" for an indefinite amount of time which adversely affects your credit score. The customer service reps I spoke to today - Jasmine in the United States and Ryan in the Philippines - tried in earnest to play semantics with me, completely disregarding my concerns over the manner in which my credit score is being adversely affected because of Old Navy billing errors. Though the reps tried repeatedly to push the responsibility of the pending charges BACK onto Old Navy, as the card issuer Synchrony Bank has an obligation to address cardholder concerns and remove double charges or initiate the dispute charges as soon as Synchrony is notified that the amount reported on a statement is erroneous - regardless of whether or not the charge is pending or completed.

The fact that I had to waste over an hour of my time explaining this matter to three different people (recording each conversation in its entirety) and received semantic static from two of the three would be hilarious if not for the fact that wasted time is EXPENSIVE. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Synchrony Bank is required to report FACTUAL information to the credit reporting agencies that impacts cardholder's credit scores. That they allow cardholder's credit scores to be negatively impacted because of Old Navy billing errors and then try to dismiss cardholder's concerns about credit score adversity is nothing short of outrageous. As I was trying to argue my case I started to feel as though a scam was being perpetrated by Synchrony. And yes, they especially do not like it when you pay off your balance in FULL every billing cycle.

As you can see from the screenshots, the amount pending is dated April 8, 2017. The order in question shipped on April 9, 2017. I was overcharged for one transaction and then subsequently double billed. This adversely affected my credit score. Though Ryan and Jasmine tried in earnest to suggest the double charge would be removed by midnight tonight they still continued to exacerbate the issue by not offering to notify the credit reporting agencies that the double billing issue was the fault of Old Navy. Instead of hiring people who try in vain to condescend consumers and cardholders, Synchrony should hire US citizens who actually know the law (FCRA specifically) and address concerned without engaging in semantics and hypotheticals.

But almost every 6 to 8 weeks Synchrony Bank would decline her card, saying there appeared to be a suspicious charge, discussed it with her a while, then said her card will be activated anywhere from a few hours to a few days! Sometimes this would happen when shopping away from our city, which is not unusual in itself, but instead of having her verify her charges one by one they would just block the card and ask her to call them.

Now they say she does not have enough good credit and they want to see she has more accounts in her name. I spent an hour on the computer and downloaded all the accounts with her name, or mine combined. They also want her phone number to be activated as a secure contact source with only her name associated with the same phone number. We just switched to T-Mobile, and bought 2 lines. They used my name on both lines. I spent 5 minutes on the T-Mobile site and got her number associated with her name, no one else. This whole ordeal is bordering on harassment. She plans to finish paying off this card then cancel. Terrible service.

I had an Old Navy card.... Thought I STILL had an Old Navy, until I went to use in the store recently. I don't "make payments" on my credit cards, I pay them off - each and every month. Yet, for some unknown reason, my account had been closed. The clerk thought maybe it had been a while since I'd used it (it hadn't - less than 6 months). I went through the system at the counter to "re-activate" my card only to find out during refinancing my home a few weeks later, that what they had actually done was run my credit and open a new account. I've got an excellent credit score, but still took a hit because of this. Was it worth it? Nah...the % off and the $35 coupon weren't worth it. I'll keep it open for now (assuming they don't randomly close it again). But don't think I'll use it much as I get better cash back with my regular Visa card.

I hardly ever used my Old Navy credit card, maybe 3 times a year and always paid my balance off at the end of the month. Went to make a purchase today and my card was declined. I didn't take it too seriously. I called Old Navy credit card, and just assumed it was a mistake that could be quickly and easily corrected. To my surprise my account was closed in October. Wow! Zero advance notice. I was told it was due to my credit score. Funny how I was able to buy a car with zero money down and low interest, purchase a phone with zero deposits, and obtain additional revolving credit since October. Yet Old Navy has a problem with my score. The way they treat customers is disgusting. I will no longer shop at Old Navy or any affiliated stores and I will be informing everyone I know about my experience.

After a few months I will received a letter saying they were decreasing my limit, die to my credit score, they lowered it to 100. I continue to make on-time payments, paid it off then my account was closed. Again because my credit score, they never told me they were going to keep running my credit score, it was never mentioned that they would be making these inquiries on my credit. I called them, they said it was a requirement to have a certain score. I explained I was rebuilding. They didn't care, they said nothing they could do, it was up to their discretion. I think this CEO can go rot for treating card holders this way. Their clothes suck and are not even good quality. I've been having problems with my card Old Navy Credit Card since August 2016. My auto payments started being kicked back in August. I had auto payments set-up just in-case I forgot making a payment. So, in August I got a late payment and made a payment on my own over the computer and it went through. From then on our I was making payments every month on my own and they would go through but my auto was still getting denied. I didn't think it was that big of a deal and didn't understand what was going on. I called them and went over account info with them which was correct and they were a joke. They were still receiving hundreds of dollars in payments from me every month. They closed my acct due to lack of payment even though I made almost $500 payments in 2 months.

I called them back and they told me I had to prove my bank acct was correct. I had gone to the bank and got a letter saying clearly my acct hasn't changed and I've had the same one for years. I attached that to a letter from myself with whats going on and listed the payments that did go through. I didn't hear anything so 2 weeks later I called back and asked what was the update to my account and their response was, that's not enough info. I have to write a letter about what happened. I told them "I did that if you clearly look at all pages I sent." It's November and still not cleared up with about 5 phone calls to them and 2 stops to my bank. I paid them off in October and will never use them again! I dont want this to affect my credit card score more that it is and I want my Old Navy Cash of about $40!

After being on hold for what seemed like years I finally decided to use the chat online feature. I was told the check never arrived. After verifying with escrow the check was never cashed, I had the check canceled and a new one issued. I confirmed the address, got the new check and sent it that same day. Two weeks later the collection calls started again. Connected to chat and again was told the check never arrived. Unbelievable. They told me to fax over a request along with documentation. I won't hold my breath. After seeing all of the online complaints why is this company allowed to continue Operations?

I opened an Old Navy card, paid on-time, more than the minimum. Six months after opening this card, Old Navy did a soft inquiry on my credit (without my knowledge or authorization). Unfortunately, a medical bill appeared during that time on my credit report, which made my score drop and based on this... Old Navy decreased my balance from $300 to $200. At the time, I had $125 charged on the card, so because of the decrease... my credit utilization was impacted and caused my score to drop even more. I was advised by Old Navy customer (who are very rude, I might add), that they base their credit increases and decreases solely on credit score, regardless of payment history. I continued to pay on time, until the next incident, where one month I wanted to make a payment, using two separate accounts, registered in my online profile.

I made the first payment, which was under my minimum payment due and then followed immediately to make the second payment from the second account and was denied the option. I had to find out the hard way that Old Navy's system allows only one payment a day via, so my second payment had to be made the next day and I was charged a late fee. The late fee was reversed (so they claimed), but my minimum payment the following month was increased by Old Navy.

I was advised that it was due to the late fee being charged and once I made that payment - the balance should go back to the normal minimum fee. Well, that didn't happen and the minimum fee was even higher the following month. Needless to say, I made the decision to close the account. Mainly, to avoid another soft inquiry and any possible negative impact on my credit, because I didn't use the card as much. Secondly, the customer was horrible and the whole billing issue just left a bad taste in my mouth. I use to shop at Old Navy frequently, for my 8 year old and could care less if I EVER step foot in another Old Navy after dealing with this card. They lost a loyal customer!

I was hung up on. Within a half an hour I received an auto dial call from another department letting me know that my payment was returned and that my payment was now late. I was furious.

Finally, the payment information was taken without error. I thought this would be the end of the issue until I came home to find a letter from Old Navy letting me know that my account is suspended because of too many returned payments. (I am not even at half of my limit nor have I made more than 1 late payment to this account). This is a company that clearly has no idea what any other part of the company is doing. Do they not have a "note" section for each account? I may have been okay with the suspension if the returned payments were my fault. I think it is super when a company penalizes you for their employee's data entry errors. This card will be paid off today and cut up! When I called Synchrony to see why my payments never processed, they said "I don't know, but you owe $125". After arguing that I've tried to pay the entire balance each time I was billed, including the late charges, that I will pay what I owed originally, right now, over the phone, he said, "well you already tried to pay the full amount of $125 anyway so what's it matter". Today marks the end of my battle with the rude Old Navy Customer Service Lady, whom has been harassing me for months. I had Card Security Insurance on my card, and for the third, and final time they cancelled my balance due disability issues. I then cancelled the card after Card Security paid the balance in full. Card Security sometimes pays payments to Old Navy Visa late. This intern leaves a negative mark on the customer's credit report. I have tried for months to get past these vindictive telephone and credit analysts at Old Navy. I requested the one 30-day late on my report be removed. They said they only do that once as a courtesy, and refused to remove it.

The rude telephone operator placed me on hold, and made me wait forever. I hung up and had to hide my identity just to get past her to Jonathan. I then spoke directly to the supervisor Jonathan; he said they would remove the negative mark due to disability complications. Old Navy must contract in home operators who are really lazy, and abusive to customers. I had Old Navy for almost a decade, six years at least, and never had a bad experience with them. Today, lo and behold, I was denied credit, because mysteriously the blemish is still on all my credit reports. I think this operator is in cahoots with the witches who analyze the credit reporting issues. Needless to say, I will never take out another card from Old Navy Visa, and will encourage others to opt out to their credit offers as well.

I have filed complaints with all three credit reporting agencies, because it's the only way to get past these whack jobs that have mysteriously taken over the customer service area. I really think that Old Navy must have started contracting in home help, this woman doesn't sound professional, and the service has just declined so horribly. I'm glad that the card has been cancelled. I could never do her job, and would never want it. If she is just a nice lady trying to make it the best she can then "I'm kind of sorry." Many people are not cut out to be customer service representatives, and in my opinion this particular agent is one of them. I could ask Old Navy to investigate the phone calls, and how she treated me, but what is the point? They are obviously desperate for customer service representatives. I will never have another credit line with them, and might never purchase from them in the future.

When I called them asking why they keep closing my account especially when it’s not even been 1 week since my payment bounced they said it was their computer system. So regardless whether it’s my fault or what since when do computer systems make decisions now. Its terminator style living. It’s horrible where big companies collect so much interest from consumers then let computer systems make decisions.

I can’t believe that my neighbor pays the minimum every month and I pay triple plus more weekly and I am penalized? So basically why not pay the minimum. Paying more doesn’t matter. I got both my cards shut down because my extra additional payments bounced not my monthly due date ones. I told Old Navy about this. All they say is sorry and nothing they can do about the computer system. It’s like they train out of all the same manuals. I can’t believe the government allows big credit companies to issue consumers credit cards give them credit limits with large finance charges then collect on just finance charges and close someone's account?

They reel us in by giving us incentives that later are not worth the heart ache. I can’t believe after thousands I paid towards Old Navy and Gap they close my account due to 2 extra payments that got returned. How can the government allow companies have computer systems that override human decisions? She said if it were in her power she would of reopened it but she could not change the computers decision? What the heck. I don't understand how this is fair? I was never told that Old Navy was ran by computer systems that had the ability to override a human’s decision when it comes to people and their money.

Totally stay away and government please help all these unhappy people. Listen to their complaints. You’re letting the citizens of America be at the mercy of these credit card companies and their decision making computers. I should of just paid the minimum. I always thought I was a good customer by showing them I pay more than minimum and that it would make my credit history much better than those who pay min. but never is this the case. They only look at the negative never the positive.

I told her look at all the years I paid on time and triple the min. plus hundreds in additional payments and charges and she just kept mentioning the two negative transactions like what I did for years never ever exists. Old Navy stop asking people to sign up. You don't care about them. You just want customers to rack up a high bill, reel them in with promotions, and then wait for the chance for them to mess up once so you can collect on another debt from the consumers. Horrible and dishonest. We all need to stop using and applying for these cards so they start really caring about their customers.

Today I had decided to request a new Old Navy for my wife of 47 years. We last used Old Navy in Nov 2004. After checking these issues out, I clearly remember why we stopped using this card. Poor communications from the company to the customer and late charges being unfairly accessed. I also remember the many times it took to correct issues with the company and GE Capital Finance.

I am so glad I decided to check this site out while on hold with Old Navy for 12 minutes. It all came rushing back to me the problems we had involving billing issues. We carry a credit score of over 800 and we plan to continue that target for ourselves; therefore, I cleared the phone call and made this statement on here for other customers.

This really should be zero considering that the card never showed up! I signed up for this card in December with an $8 charge. I ended up calling in January because I never received a card or a statement. They said they'd send another card and statement. Lo and behold, it's February and no card or statement. I called again and reaffirmed my address. They apologized, offered to get rid of the late fee and resend it all. Sounds good, right? Well, April comes along. I get a debt collection agency letter telling me I owe over $100 on an $8 charge when I haven't received a statement or a card. So I paid the minimum and they sent me over to GE Capital Finance. I'm told I have to wait three days because it’s referred to the credit agency.

I called GE a week later. They gave me the same spiel. Now, finally, I get a statement (but still no card) in May saying I now owe $125! On top of that, they called me four times a day for two days but didn't even bother leaving a voicemail. This is all without still having the actual plastic in my hand, mind you. Then, in a crowning moment of chutzpah and shockingly bad customer service, they say the late fees are my fault and won't get rid of them. They did offer, for the third time, to send me a card. I told them not to bother and cancel the account, and I'd make sure to tell everyone I know about how terrible this card is. Bottom line, if they ask you if you want a card when you're just buying a shirt at Old Navy, tell them no.

I opened this in Dec. 2012. I got my first statement for $55 which was due on 1/19/13. I paid it on 12/29/2012. It did not post until 1/14/2013 after I called twice. I even asked the girl that day if that was my total balance and she said yes. Then, I got a bill on 2/24/12 with purchases that were returned. They didn't get charged back to me, but they stuck on another $25 late fee, showing the Dec. payment as being late. The next bill I got was due on 3/19/2013. I paid it on 2/11/ but again, it didn't post until 2/25, which incurred another $25 late fee.

Today, I got my new bill which is due 4/19 and there's another $25 late fee on it. Keep in mind that actually none of these was late. They just didn't post them in time and put a hold for over 2 weeks on almost all of them, a good way to get $25 per month. So I cancelled my card. I paid my balance on the card and asked them to cancel it. I don't think I will be shopping at Old Navy anymore with credit card or cash.

I have several complaints about this credit card. First of all, I signed up by accident. I was asked if I wanted an Old Navy card, and I specifically asked if it was a credit card and was told that it wasn't. Well, when I got it, I ended up using it which brings me to my second complaint; the interest on this card is outrageous!

My real complaint though is this: I was homeless and jobless for a few months and obviously because of that not able to keep up with payments. I called the company to explain my situation and see if something could be worked out. They were unsurprisingly unhelpful and uncaring. I recently received a settlement offer in the mail from GE. It was offering to pay 70% of my debt to them, if I paid the other 30%. Well I'm starting to get back on my feet. I have a job, and a place to stay, and I figured that sounded like an awesome deal. I got this letter on February 12th saying that this offer would expire on the 18th. I immediately called when I got this letter. I explained that I was definitely interested in the settlement offer, but wouldn't be able to pay by the 18th. I was transferred to a supposed "manager" (although you can never be too sure when you're speaking to out-sourced customer service people), who said that it would not be a problem to extend the offer until the 22nd, that as long as I made a payment by then, the settlement would still be relevant and I would be able to take advantage of it.

Well on the 20th, I called ready to make my payment and was told that the settlement offer was no longer valid and had expired on the 18th. I explained that I was told I could have an extension until the 22nd, but they said they had no record of it. I asked if I could review the tapes (because every time you call they say it's being recorded), and I was told that they aren't allowed to let the customers listen to the recordings. So I asked them to review it and they said they would. I called later that same day to ask if they'd reviewed the tapes and was told that they had, and that nothing was ever said about an extension. Obviously, that meant they had not reviewed my tapes, if there were even tapes to be reviewed.

I asked if there was anything else that could be done, because if this settlement couldn't be made, I simply wouldn't be able to pay. I was told there was nothing else they could do, and if I didn't want to pay, that was my decision and I would have to suffer the consequences. Not to mention throughout this entire phone conversation, I was treated very poorly and disrespectfully.

I no longer care about my credit as I am leaving the country in a few months, but I wanted to do the right thing and repay my debt while there was an offer making me able to do so. I can't afford to pay off the whole thing - thanks to GE's ridiculous interest, I've accrued enough of it, where if I only made a minimum payment every month (which is about all I can afford) I'd be paying it off for the next 20 years.

I will make sure I tell as many people as I possibly can to never open a credit card with GE again or really even shop at Old Navy. I know that I, myself, won't ever buy another thing from Old Navy nor will any of my family members and several of my friends who I've spoken with.

I constantly pay off my balance so that I keep my balance to zero; however, Old Navy Credit Card makes this very difficult. I don't know if this is legal, but here's my complaint:

They can take up to 15 days to post your payment (that's what the manager told me). However, I have one that took 20 days! So they take the money out of your bank account right away, but hold it against your credit balance. For instance, I have a credit line of just $2,500 and make weekly payments of about $500. So they take out about $2,000 from my bank account, but don't apply it to my credit card balance until the 15 days go by! 48-72 hours is the typical holding time just to make sure the money clears from you bank. This is criminal in my book since they have my money and are not posting it for 15-20 days. The manager couldn't explain why this is, "It's just a security issue" but when they have my money, I don't understand what security there is. I couldn't get an answer.

My best guess is that they don't want people to gain the rewards for using their card too easily, so they make it very stressful and difficult. I have yet to see what the late fees will be but after reading the complaints, it seems to be a common practice for Old Navy to apply these late fees regardless of when you paid.

I am very dissatisfied with Old Navy because my account was closed due to no activity without any prior communication. Instead, the representative stated that their policy was listed in their terms and conditions. However, I have not received any information from them, no letter, call or otherwise. While I understand and cannot disagree with their policy, I cannot agree with the administration of it. Their action can negatively impact my good credit history. Again, no communication stating they have noticed inactivity and would start the process if not contacted within a specified time.

I have only charged my card 3 or 4 times. Each time, I was contacted via phone about a past due statement and hit with late fees. I never received the statements in the mail or via email until after I had paid over the phone on a collection call. This is the only card I have ever had issues with, as I always pay on time. I was able to get them to refund the prior late fee but again this month I get another call and pay the late fee. Low and behold, 3 days after I pay over the phone, my statement appears in the mail! I closed the account today out of utter disgust with this practice.

I had confirmed on 4 separate calls that my address and email were correct in their system. I also had them switch from mail to email and back again as I never received either. If this isn't a complete scam, I don't know what one is. I would never let my bills go past due knowingly especially at the low amounts they were.

Today, I went to Old Navy to make a purchase. To my surprise, my card was declined. I said, well that can't be!

I called the customer service hotline and since I had made my payment early, they deactivated my card and said I did not make my July payment. I made my payment on June 30 therefore I never made the payment for July.

Well June 2 I made my June payment and June 30 was for my July payment. So for making my payment early, I was penalized and embarrassed in the store. I have cancelled my account and do not plan to visit any Old Navy ever again. I would not advise to get a credit card there. That is just ridiculous!

I applied for an Old Navy credit card on their Web site. I wanted to use the card for my purchase to avoid shipping charges (a promotion at that time). I was told to call an 800 number to verify information after submitting the credit card application. After about 10 minutes I was finally transferred to the correct department. The person I spoke with had a heavy accent and was hard to understand. She asked for all of my information again, which I provided.

After providing the information she said I would receive a letter in the mail within 7-10 days. Today I received a letter which stated my credit card was denied because they were unable to verify home phone number. I've checked my credit report and my home phone number (the same one I submitted on the application and gave to the representative) is listed on my credit report.

I was told I had to make a payment 26 days in advance to get it processed on time. I have been charged a late fee 3 times that my payment went out on time. I have never paid any other bills late in my life, so it goes to show you that they are purposely milking the consumer for all the money they can get. Either that or they need to hire competent people to process the payments. I cancelled my card because of this.

It will show up that I paid late on my credit card- which I did NOT. And I am out $75 or $100 because they charged me the late fees.

I recently received a phone call dealing with my Old Navy Credit Card account. I was informed that I had had not made a payment and I would receive another late fee. I later found out that I now have around $100's in late fees now on my account. I have not received a bill for my Old Navy account since 5/03/04, that is the last statement that I have received. I knew that I did not have much on my card so I figured that when I stopped receiving bills from you that it must have been paid off.

A while back my wife applied for an Old Navy Credit Card and purchased a few items of clothes with it. Like many Department store Cards there is a 10% discount on your first purchase. So My wife took advantage of this offer with no intention of ever really using the card again. We received the bill and we paid it on time. Then we recived a late charge indicating that we did not pay on time. However we did and our bill came back with just the 25 dollar late fee plus about 10 dollars that we had left to pay off the card (the bill included the deduction of our payment on time).

Then we called the Card company. They appoligized for their mistake and removed the fee. The Service rep then asked us if we wanted to pay off the rest of the card by phone. We figured since we were already on the phone that we might as well. But then she notified us about the 10 dollar pay by phone fee. Such a fee sounded absurd so we declined and said we would mail it in. But then the lady said, hold on let me check with my manager to see if I can get that waived. Sure enough a few seconds later she returned and assured us that we would not be charged. So we went ahead and payed by phone.

In next months bill we noticed $10 pay by phone fee. We didn't have time to call about this bill because we were leaving the country for three weeks. When we returned we recived another bill that charged a $10 late fee plus a $1 finance charge for the unpaid pay by phone fee. We called about it and told them what happened but they would not beleive us nor did they remove any of the charges. We were met with only with rudeness and lies. Then we asked them to do us a favor and remove it. They insisted that they already gave us a break last time for the 25 dollar late fee. But that fee was their mistake. They insisted that their computers said other wise.

There was no atempt to help just a mechanical and fake sorry sir, but is there anything else I can do for you? Needless to say we canclled the account and then recived another $10 late fee. We're forced to pay our $32 bill or face more fees and bad credit ratings. I am wondering if any other people are facing similar problems?

They said I would recieve my credit card in the mail with the bill. I never got the card in the mail and never got a statement. If I had I would have paid it like I do every month other cards. I moved to a new address a few months later and had the post office forward my mail. I recieved all my bills except old navy.
