American Express Travelers Cheques Reviews

On March 21st., 2006 I purchased $24,000 in American Express Travelers Cheques. On June 20th., 2006 there was an accidental house fire at my residence that burned the unspent travelers cheques of mine. The sum of cheques that were burnt was approximately $9,000. I filed a refund claim to American Express but the claim was denied for no given reason. I met all terms, rules, and, requirements to qualify for a refund. I would like American Express to subtract the total payouts from the original $24,000 travelers cheque purchase amount and issue a refund or replacement as soon as possible. I am in a dire financial situation and I need that money!

My wife and I lost one months rent in the amount of $300 due to American Expresses denial of refund. The approximate $10,000 was part of my 401(k)plan and I was usinf the money to support my wife and two 10 month old daughters. The repercussions have been significant.
