There was fraud on my account. I called and spoke with two people. They were rude, spoke over me, and didn't take any time to listen to what happened. They seemed to be in a big hurry, and kept focusing on a form they wanted to complete. They lost my call, didn't call me back, and I had to call back and start all over with a different person. Overall, it was an aggressive and unpleasant experience.

Booked trip to Italy through Chase as it was the only way to use points. Return trip they accidentally CANCELLED 6 of our tickets. We confirmed flight with them that morning, arrived in Venice airport, and were told we were not booked on that flight. After hours on phone with both United and Chase from the airport, Chase admitted it was their error. We had to stay in a terrible hotel near the Venice airport, leave the next day. There were 7 of us so the hotel was almost 900 euros, transport back and forth, additional meals. After dozens of calls Chase travel has done NOTHING to compensate us for this. I am cancelling all of my Chase accounts (many plus credit cards) if they do not make this right. This has been the biggest travel hassle. DO NOT USE THIS CARD. DO NOT BOOK TRAVEL THROUGH CHASE.

I purchased a wedding dress from June bridal and used my Chase Sapphire card. I got the dress, it didn’t really look like what I ordered but I tried it on because I had my heart set on this and it was my first option. It didn’t fit so I reached out to the retailer per their policy of needing to do so within 14 days of receipt. They took 5 days to get back to me and they still didn’t give me the return form and a shipping address to send the dress, just said it would be a cost to me to send it back to China.

So I called Chase to dispute my purchase. The associate told me that I had apparently breached their return policy by trying it on!!!! I’ve worked in ecomm apparel for 9 years - this is ABSURD! Come to find out after doing digging that a LOT of customers have been having issues with this company in China. Apparently they rip off designs and product images and send people these crappy versions! I’m so insulted that chase didn’t back up my claim with a wedding dress, as if I wore it to the grocery store!!?? Was I supposed to open the package with latex gloves too?? Honestly this experience made me go straight to Capitol One for a new credit card. Last time I make any important purchases with chase.

Sapphire Preferred has a nice sign up bonus, and I have taken full advantage of the 15K referral bonus. I got the first Sapphire card in our family. I then referred my wife, who then referred our oldest daughter, who then referred our youngest daughter, who then referred her boyfriend. So just for referring our immediate family members, we earned 60K in referral bonuses. Since additional cards are free, we can effectively combine all of our CUR points.

While we love the Sapphire Preferred card, many people have learned the hard way that the Chase Travel Portal is a total rip-off. You may earn extra CUR points for booking through the portal, but these come at a cost. 1) You do not earn loyalty points for hotels and rent cars booked through Chase. 2) The prices for hotels and rent cars are consistently higher than booking directly with the hotel or rental company. 3) You do not receive discounted pricing for being members of AAA, AARP, or any other organization. 4) I bought an international ticket from Chase. We had to cancel due to an ebola outbreak in Uganda. Even though the confirmation indicated that the ticket was refundable, Chase would only give me a travel credit. But it gets worse.

The credit was only good for 6 months, and I must use the entire amount on one booking, with no residual value. Since we were not planning any international travel in the next few months, it would be very difficult to spend $1,300 on a domestic flight. Had we booked directly with United, we would have received a refund. Even if United did issue a credit, it would be good for at least a year, and it could be used to make multiple bookings. Also, Chase would not allow me to use the travel credit on their website. When we decided to try again for Uganda, I had to deal with a call center in India, where they kept passing me to different people with varying levels of English proficiency.

When we finally got around to selecting flights, they told me that the flights I wanted were not available. I was literally on their website viewing flights, and they were clearly available. From viewing the United site simultaneously, I could even verify that these flights are nearly empty! I will never again use Chase travel for cash bookings. Even when using CUR points, you are much better off transferring the points to an airline and dealing directly with the airline. On international travel awards, I can routinely score yields of 2.5-4 cents per point, which is much better than the 1.25 cents offered by Chase with the Sapphire Preferred card.

The last three times I've tried to book a hotel using my Chase points, the booking site will not find ANY hotel. Numerous calls to the booking help line in the Philippines is a frustrating experience and waste of time. For example, today tried to book a hotel in Canton OH, site would only list hotels in Acron OH, even though 58 different hotels in Canton were listed on Expedia. Called support, they could only pull up Acron hotels as well. Ended up booking with the Hyatt Place hotel in Canton directly. Of course, I could not use my Chase points, which is the only reason I have the card.

The problem was the airline did not process my payment until six months later now I’m trying to figure out. How is this My fault? The deal was if I spend up to $4000 in three months, I would get 60,000 points. I have yet to receive it. They denied me three times. This is not worth it. Don’t do it/don’t do it/don’t do it.

If you are consider obtaining a Chase Sapphire Credit Card, please do not. I purchased a Chase Sapphire Credit Card for the travel benefits. If I could rate Chase Travel negative stars, I would as I have had one of the absolute worst customer service experience possible with them. After saving up a large number of points, four months ago I purchased an airline flight for my four person family over the winter holiday season. I paid a premium to travel at the times and on the dates I selected.

Approximately four months after buying the tickets thru CHASE TRAVEL, the airline cancelled the flights and changed the flight times. I reached out to Chase Travel to request that they work with me and pay the cost to get me on the flights times/dates (or as close as possible) to what I originally booked. Initially, Chase Travel blamed the airline and said that there was nothing they could do. I contacted the airline and they said that Chase Travel controls the ticketing and reservation.

I spent 3-4 hours on the phone with Chase Travel representatives and supervisors and they refused to take any responsibility for the travel booked thru them. To rebook the flights I originally booked now (3 weeks before travel) would cost me an additional several thousand dollars. Chase Travel offered me 20,000 points (about $200). Chase Travel is terrible, their customer service department has provided one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I would strongly recommend to anyone that is considering purchasing this credit card that they do not do so.

I have been using the Chase Sapphire Preferred and IHG Reward cards for a few years now and I'm cancelling both today despite taking a hit in the credit score. I had to make a total of 8 phone calls over the course of 3.5 months to get two airplane tickets canceled and refunded. The refund for the second ticket is still not done. These people WON'T do anything until you call and remind them of their job. Every time I called, someone always "forgot" to do something the last time. Also if you need to switch flights (happened to me TWICE), their prices are ALWAYS $100-$200 higher than the prices you see on Google Flights. Complete rip-off and sub-standard customer service.

I recently decided to move my banking from Bank of America to Chase due to a bad customer service experience with BOA. I opened 5 Sapphire accounts at a branch near me (for myself and my children), funded the accounts and set up all my payees, e-bills, auto-pay, etc. Everything seemed to work just fine. Shortly after that, I started receiving multiple calls and alerts from Chase Fraud Department, for regular payments and transfers that I made from my new accounts. This was annoying but I guess it had to do with the fact that the account was new, and I verified each transaction over the phone. Then, within a week, my son received an alert on his Chase app saying that his account was locked and that all accounts would be closed soon. Interestingly, I did not receive any alerts and my account continued to be accessible and unrestricted. His account was locked and inaccessible.

I called the number that I found on my son's alert the alert to ask what was happening. I called 4 times and each time, after a few minutes, the call dropped and I never received a call back. I then called the branch manager at the branch where I had opened the accounts to ask for more info, and after inquiring he called me back and confirmed that all accounts would be closed, without any further explanation. If I wanted, I could come in and open new accounts. Since this made no sense, I decided to move my banking back to BoA, and made a wire-transfer from Chase to my old BoA account that I had not yet closed. 3 days later, Chase Fraud called me and said that since the money had not been in the account for at least 3 days, the transfer would be cancelled and I had to redo it.

The money was available and I could pay or withdraw it or use it to pay bill, but not to transfer out to my BoA account. As a result of this delay, an outgoing payment from BoA caused my account to be overdrawn (for the first time in my life), and I incurred overdraft fees. I now closed all my new Chase accounts and will never do business with this bank again. Something is clearly wrong with Chase fraud prevention procedures, and the customer service experience was the worst I have ever experienced. For a bank that is rated as one of the best and largest, this was very disappointing.

I had booked a few tickets to Miami in Jan for April. Go to get on and 5 out of the 6 tickets were good. My Girlfriend who had never flown in her life before happened to be the ticket that didn't work. Called Chase Travel and after 2 hours and missed flight they told me to just buy new flights for me and her. They said they would refund me the tickets and give me 7,500 points for the inconvenience. That was a lie one. I sent all required information and was never refunded until I called back. And when I called back they said they could not honor the 7,500 points. Horrible experience and will never use their service again. Traveling is already stressful enough. Don't need added stress by using chase travel as a middleman that will mess up your order and then not stand by their word.

I’ve been a loyal Chase cc customer since college. Have the Reserve card (their most prestigious for travel with highest annual fee). Over the past year, they’ve messed up so many times with my travel and with cc holders I know. Eg. Multiple times where flight was booked with chase but chase didn’t actually book with the airline. Wrong name on ticket. Lost airline credits/records. Mess ups and overpayment due to language issues on the agent's side. Amex has 10x better service so if this continues I can’t justify the perks with wanting to throw my phone out the window every time I book with chase travel. They’ve become the absolute worst travel agency. Expect anything other than booking a new reservation to take a couple hours of your time.

I canceled a flight that I booked back in December through the Chase Loyalty card program and wanted to use the credit to rebook a flight two months later. When I logged on to view my canceled flights there was no information listed on my profile. I then called customer service to rebook. They told me that they were only able to rebook my flight via phone. So then I was on the phone for two hours waiting for the agent to confirm the flight. She was unable to confirm the flight so she transferred me to the operations team and while waiting the call was dropped.

No one called me back so I then proceeded to call again. Another customer service agent answered and proceeded to take another hour and was also unable to help book the flight. She transferred me to another group and they were supposedly able to book and said I should receive an email in 2 hours. I didn't receive an email and thus I called again to double-check. That loyalty agent told me that nothing was booked and then proceeded to transfer me again to another group and then that person was able to book but rebooked incorrectly (one-way vs. round trip).

I then asked to speak with a manager. That manager was finally able to book (it took about two hours in total). I waited until I received an email with my flights confirmed. Now two days before my trip I received a call from an agent telling me that they couldn't get me on my return flight and will need to push the flight time 12 hours. I have been a loyal Chase customer for many years now and always praised the brand but this is unacceptable customer service and technology issues.

My family’s original flight To Orlando Disneyland was canceled due to Covid. We had a credit of $2000. I went to rebook the flights to Orlando a year later with the credit. The prices that Chase rewards were quoting on the phone were more than double the price that was on the Chase travel rewards website. I decided to try going to Orlando through another airport. 12 calls later with over seven hours of phone time trying to rebook Orlando flight. Finally a rep called saying he booked the flight to Orlando for my family. I get the email about an hour later and the agent booked my family to Chicago instead. Very frustrating.

I called back explaining their error and they said they have to review the phone call and make a decision. They came back five days later saying that I agreed to fly to Chicago in the call. Total **. I asked for a copy of the call and they said it’s not company policy. They made the decision that I lost my $2000. The agents are all untrained and constantly put you on hold as if they’re asking for permission from a supervisor. Not to mention everyone that I spoke to was not proficient in English.

When I contacted Chase's claims center and filed a claim that Chase should have to pay the $50 in change fees from the airline, they completely misunderstood. It's now run by Expedia and service has plummeted. First, it's nearly impossible to find a phone number even when the instructions are to call them. Trips aren't showing up in my account, I have a flight credit was told "it won't show in your account but just call us", etc. It took me 3 calls, after I finally found the number, and over 1.5 hours to simply cancel a flight. Our extended family has 6 Chase Preferred Cards and we are all contemplating not renewing because of repeated poor service. It's really too bad; it use to be great.

I like Chase Ultimate Rewards for the transfers to airline partners, and the “pay yourself back” for dining and groceries. So why the one-star review? I used their “Chase Travel” (powered by Expedia) for two recent trips. Their agents are untrained and sadly incompetent to do even the smallest task. Anything they touch turns to crap. Be prepared to be kept on hold while they check with a supervisor for EVERY issue. So many mistakes. Your chats and phone calls will be disconnected and you’ll have to start over. Over and over. Aggravating.

If you can find and book, and keep a reservation all within their website, you should be fine. But it’s risky! Because of COVID, flights were cancelled or changed, and hotels were affected... It took WEEKS of painful interaction with their agents by chat and phone to resolve rebooking or cancellation. I have one $480 flight refund that is STILL in dispute more than a month after it was cancelled by the airline. All you get is a canned reply “We are working on it.” So, if Chase Travel is an appealing part of collecting Ultimate Rewards, think again. I used travel points to book my trip on American Airlines. I selected the upgrade feature to move from "Basic Economy" to "Main cabin Economy." This was a higher fee and allows full mileage with the airline and seat selection. Once booked and points plus money paid, American Airlines only has me down for "Basic Economy" per my email acknowledgement from them. When I called to straighten this out I spent over an hour on the phone getting the run around from Chase where they conveniently don't see any record of me making this upgrade. My receipt after booking also doesn't show that I selected an upgrade, just the cost and flight information. No distinction on the taxes and "fees". So if you book airfare with them using points, expect to get ripped off. I'm out a lot of money paying for the upgraded economy. First they denied receiving my claim, and when they were called out on that dishonesty, they demanded I produce the original receipt, even though I provided a duplicate receipt from Best Buy. When I escalated that issue, they dropped that demand, and then refused to accept the warranty info that I forwarded to them from the TV manufacturer, requiring instead that I provide them with the 140 page user manual.

They are now insisting in more documentation, and when I asked a supervisor why I wasn't told at the beginning why the info I provided was insufficient, I was met with hostility and derision. It's clear that their tactics are designed to force you to give up on your claim,. When I spoke with Chase about the behavior of their warranty adjusters, I was told there was nothing they could do. My husband and I booked international flights through Chase Travel, which I will not be doing again. One leg of the flight got cancelled, so we had to work with Chase Travel to get on another flight. I was told that because Japan Air cancelled the flight, they will reimburse us for another hotel night because the flight wouldn't be leaving until the following morning. When I called Japan Air, they told me that they do not reimburse people for a hotel. I then called Chase back, and after about 3 hours on the phone, they said they would reimburse me for the night at a hotel. I was advised to call back again with my hotel information. I called the 4th time and had to explain my story. The woman told me that they did not have any record of a supervisor approving reimbursement for a night in a hotel. This woman then submitted a complaint to upper management, which was all she could do.

I know it is absurd that I spent all that time on the phone for a measly $120, but I was told by 2 different reps that Chase would cover the cost. I also understand that if I have the means to pay for a nice international vacation, one should not complain about travel mishaps, but again, I was told that I would be reimbursed for my extended hotel stay. Also, for an exorbitantly high annual fee, I expected that the customer service would be more efficient, but I did not experience that firsthand. I am currently awaiting a call/email from a supervisor, so hopefully it will get resolved.
