I have never used Old Spice deodorant before but I got it free so I thought why not. It was Old Spice Swagger. I really enjoyed the smell but after a few days of wearing it, my underarms were very painful. I have burns under both arms. The left armpit is worse but both have burns. It's been 6 days since I used any Old Spice and I haven't been able to wear any kind of deodorant for that matter. It is very painful to raise my arms or even wear a shirt or bra. I have been absolutely miserable for almost a week...

I am writing this note from Europe. After a decade or so, OLD SPICE brand has been introduced here again. After two weeks of using OLD SPICE DEODORANT, my skin is burned and is not healing well, not to say, it is healing very slow, rashes and aches. As it has never happened to me before, I was surprised when I saw all negative comments about OLD SPICE from the users in the States for at least a decade available on internet. Is P&G aware of this problem? How come FDA issued a Safety Sheet for this product?

My son used the Old Spice Aqua Reef. He developed painful sores and blisters on armpits. It burned really bad. He has a history of MRSA and I was concerned how it looked. I took him to the doctor and said it looked like some kind of burn. She put him on Bactrim and steroid cream as well as Silvadene. His armpits hurt so bad he can barely lift his arms. The skin is peeling in some areas. This is extremely painful. Do not use OLD SPICE!!!!

After 3 days of use, Old Spice High Endurance Pure Sport burnt my arm pits so bad I had to use prescribed burn cream for serious burns. This is the worst pain ever. Still several days later after using the medication the burns are still not healing. I'm a personal trainer and had to cancel my clients because I can't even put my arms down or wear a shirt because it rubs my already raw skin. All pictures shown are each a couple days apart... still not healing!!

Do not use this product. I have been using Old Spice deodorants for years. I recently switched to using the "after hours." I had never had issues with Old Spice deodorant before, until I use their "after hours" product. I have developed what I thought to be a rash, but it looks too bad to be just a rash. From the other reviews, it looks to be a burn. 2nd or 3rd I'm not sure. I'm thinking of going to the doctor, and consulting with a lawyer. I have stopped using this product, and I will never use their deodorants again. I have been in a lot of pain. I have had this rash for a week now. It hurts all the time and it burns. I am not happy with Old Spice at all.

I purchased Old Spice high endurance deodorant at the beginning of 2014 because I was working out of town and forgot to pack my regular deodorant. I never used this stuff before and this is all they had. Used it a few times only. Till I could find my regular stuff. Came back home and had ran out. Apparently on the hair is ok but direct contact with skin cause a burn equivalent to a 2nd degree burn with blisters. The pain is a constant 6 and in the shower when washing causes a 10 pain level to the point where my arm shakes uncontrollably for until I'm done cleaning it with cold water only.

Went to urgent care and paid $200 in antibiotics and corticosteroid lotion. This was 2 days ago with no improvement. I'm going back today for some pain medication cause this is really bad. Although the diagnosis was IRRITANT CONTACT DERMATITIS this is not "redness or a rash" this is a ** burn! Check out a google search and youtube and you'll see this is a bad batch. Tell everyone you know please, this is very painful and should be avoided at all costs. Old spice knows by now and still has not pulled it off the shelves.

After using Old Spice Swagger and Pure Sport deodorants on four different occasions, my son's armpits broke out in what appeared to be a deep burn. This is extremely painful and his arms could not be lifted even shoulder high. The last time he used this deodorant this happened within a minute of using the deodorant. This is deep red and takes weeks to go away and I am pretty sure that this has scarred my son's armpits. When this happens, he can not even use deodorant.

However, I recently tried the "Wolfthorne" scent in a travel size and, after two days use, have what appear to be chemical burns under both armpits. If they don't improved in a day or two, I will be seeing a doctor. Not sure if they have a bad batch or what, but I sure won't be using any of the new scents they have, and am seriously considering switching altogether.

I have been using OS for years. The original white kind anti-perspirant/deodorant. I recently bought an all red stick of OS with the blue clear gel. First day of use, felt extreme burning and itching under my arms. Second day same thing. Upon further inspection, the product actually made my skin peel off, similar to a sunburn. It has taken two days to get back to normal.

The most frustrating part of the experience is that Old Spice does not have a customer service line you can call. Sure there is a number on the product but it takes you to a recording with three options: coupons, where to find OS, and how to remove stains from clothing. Next, try the Proctor and Gamble website, who owns OS, and you get the same run around. No customer service line. I had to call the OS number find an option that led me to another recording, which finally allowed me to connect to an actual person. Told the individual my story. She sounded sincere, put me on hold, and was disconnected a few seconds later. Tried again three times - same result. Horrible company. Lost a long time customer. Spread the word. Word of mouth hurts their bottom line over time.

I have been using Old Spice Fiji deodorant for about 8 months now. But just around 4 days ago, I woke up around 3 a.m. with burning pain in my armpits. I had thought it was normal because Old Spice had always made my armpits tingle a little bit whenever I used it. Well, I get up out of bed around 5 a.m. and look in the mirrors to see why my armpits were burning so bad and I found that I had large and VERY raw patches of skin under my armpits. It hurts to even move my arms to get something out of the cabinet. It has been four days and the burns won't heal. They are raw and even sticky/gooey. I went online and even to my family doctor and found out that I had been left with second degree chemical burns. I won't be using Old Spice any longer.

Been using Old Spice high endurance dry cream for about 7 yrs now. It has a fresh smell that I just can't get enough of and I really like how it smells so minty w/out being too cloying. I've tried couple of deodorants like nivea, axe, dove etc., but they all seem to stain my undershirts and at times give me wet underarms. But lately I'm noticing that this brand is starting to give me wet underarms too. Even if I am doing no physical activity at all and just sitting down, after around 30 min sweat marks have gone through my shirt. It can be embarrassing at times and I get a little conscious about it. Idk, Perhaps it's just because of the change in climate. Does anybody know if there has been a change in formulation? Thanks!

This is my first experience using an Old Spice product. For roughly the previous 10-12 years, I've used A Gillette gel product with zero problems. For no reason in particular, I decided to try Old Spice Fresh. Well, if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Feeling a burn nearly from first contact, I naively thought it was supposed to burn, hence the name Old SPICE. After 3-4 days of feeling increasing discomfort, I looked at my pits in the mirror. To my shock, there were visible burn marks. Figuring I was just having an allergic reaction, I turned to Al Gore's internet to look for a remedy from the pain. That is when I discovered this thread.

Seems that my reaction isn't so much "allergic" as it is chemical. It blows my mind to think so many people are having rather serious reactions to these products, yet they continue to remain as is on the shelves. Even more shocking is the fact they keep unleashing new, more lethal, armpit torching products on the unsuspecting public. Unfortunately, people aren't likely to research a deodorant before they buy, so by the time they find this thread, they'll be suffering from a serious case of scorched armpit.

I have been using Old Spice for a few years now and never had a problem until recently. I bought Bearglove just to change things up a bit and after about a week I started getting a bad rash under my arms. I noticed it 4 days ago and it has gotten much worse. It's very red, irritated, and oozing a gross liquid. My girlfriend said it looked like a burn. We googled it and there have been a lot of complaints on this brand. I went to a walk in clinic connected to a hospital and they classified it as contact dermatitis and that was all they could confirm without running tests on me.

I'm currently on a steroid, an antibiotic (because it's infected), and an ointment. I'm going to my family doctor today to get a more thorough examination. If they classify it as a burn, I'll jump on board with a lawsuit, no problem. I can't lift my arms above my head and can barely turn my steering wheel. I can't lift anything heavy and it's a pain to sleep. My whole life is limited by this reaction. They need to fix their product.

I used Old Spice Deodorant for less than 5 days, approximately 3-4 applications when my wife noticed red and peeling skin under my armpits. I told her it was painful and irritated and felt like it was burning. I had already stopped using this deodorant the day before this when I noticed a burning feeling in this area and swelling and soreness. It has now been two weeks, I still have some swelling and redness. I wish I would have taken a picture right when it was first occurring. It is looking better, but it is still swollen and I am still unable to wear deodorant. My wife is suggesting if it is not looking better in a few days I need to see a doctor. I have advised my son to stop using this product as well and will be happy to be on a class action lawsuit if anyone is interested. This product should be off the shelves after seeing what it is doing to people. I thought it was my sensitive skin. I'm glad my wife googled it and am learning so much more. I'm pretty sure my armpits will be scarred from this.

I applied Old Spice "Champion" under each arm on the afternoon of May 3, 2014. Within a few hours, I had started to feel a burning sensation under each arm. I checked in a mirror and saw both armpits were real red. I figured my skin was sensitive or allergic to something in the deodorant, though I had never had any kind of reaction to any deodorant brand in the past. By that night, the area had reddened a great deal and was now real painful. The next day, we had a 16-hour car ride home and my arms were extremely painful, enough so that even driving made me miserable. It was not until we got home and I took off my shirt that we then saw just how much my arms had worsened.

Both armpits were flaming red, swollen, and were oozing a yellowish substance similar to pus. I immediately went to our local Emergency Room where I was seen by a Doctor. Before examining me, he stated that allergic reactions to deodorant was common and that the companies were always tinkering with their formulas, which might explain a reaction to this new product versus my not having any issues with Old Spice in the past. I then took off my gown and showed him each arm. He said it was "BAD!" Both arms had been affected enough to where they now had the equivalent of full-blown chemical burns on the skin. I was given two shots, had burn cream applied, and was given a prescription for steroid cream.

As I write this, it has been five days since I applied the single dose of Old Spice Champion under each arm. My left arm pit is still fire red, raw, and is still oozing a pus-like substance. I take about 3 showers a day to keep the area clean, and have been applying alternating doses of burn cream and steroid cream. The right arm is healing fairly well and all drainage has stopped. I really worry that the "burns" under the left arm will end up leaving permanent scarring. Something in the Old Spice Champion Deodorant is VERY DANGEROUS to those that might be sensitive or allergic to whatever the chemical is that has caused these burns to myself and others. This product needs to be removed from counters immediately. I find it hard to believe that I could possibly be permanently scarred by a single use of a well-known brand of deodorant, but unless my left arm pit improves a great deal, that is what I am afraid I will be left with...

I use Old Spice Belize and as far as I can remember, I never felt a burning sensation. I felt like I wasn't the only one with this problem so I search and I found this site, and I found that I wasn't the only. After reading some review, I went to check my armpit to check if I had severe burns like some of you. I notice I had dark and red spots under my armpit. Then I looked up the ingredients and I found most of the ingredient have an acidic property, but one that sticks out the most is propylene glycol. It has a high acidic content. It has acetic acid. It is classified as a weak acid, when concentrated it is corrosive and can attack the skin. Propionaldehyde is another potentially hazardous substance.

I usually use the Old Spice Fiji deodorant in the opaque white top, which is a solid-type and, unfortunately, rubs off on dark clothing. I tried the one in the red top (same brand and scent) that isn't supposed to leave residue. The first time using it I developed a burn on both underarms. Thinking it was a fluke, I tried it again a few days ago. Same result. Extremely painful and resembles a 2nd degree burn. Out of curiosity, I Googled this problem and noted multiple complaints of the same occurrence. I always buy deodorant when it is on sale and usually, I buy four at a time. I recently purchased four Old Spice deodorants from Albertsons for my son who is 18 years old. He showered and put on the deodorant and within an hour, my son had severe pain and burning in his armpits. After another shower, I looked in his armpits and they were very red. He did not reapply the deodorant; however, by morning, the whole top layer of his skin was burned off and it looked as if his armpit skin had literally peeled off in a round circle. It was awful. It took 2 weeks for his armpits to heal.

This deodorant should be taken off the market or the formula changed. I was telling my friend and the same thing had happened to her boyfriend. It would be nice if I had been reimbursed for the deodorant. I had to throw it in the trash. He can never use Old Spice deodorant again. The burns were severe. My guess is this happens to a lot more people. It is just not being reported.
