I had a very good experience with Sherpa. Their ratings on the Better Business Bureau and the ConsumerAffairs' website made me decide to go with them. Plus, I couldn’t find any really bad, negative reviews of Sherpa online so that made me feel they were a safe bet. I had checked the company before them and when it came down to the pickup date, they had started giving me the runaround. I called Sherpa and they picked up a day earlier than they said they would. Everything was very straightforward. They gave me the quote, explained that the car needed to be fully cleaned out and I couldn’t have any personal items in there.
I live in a major city center and the carrier truck was not able to come to my location. But I was able to take an Uber 20 minutes away to meet the driver at his trucking facility and he gave me the keys. I looked over my car, signed the paperwork and he handed over two money orders. Everything was fine with my vehicle and I was very thankful that there was nothing wrong with my car. I got my car sooner than expected as well. I paid about $1500 total and for me that was fair. What they said was what it was and there were no surprises. The quality of their service was good and it was worth it.

When I spoke to a Sherpa rep, she gave me a little confidence on them. She explained to me what was going on when transporting a car. They provided me with a good quote and it was comparable. Then they got to the delivery quickly. The car got to my house intact and with no damage. However, there was a miscommunication between Sherpa’s rep and the actual driver. Since I work over an hour away from home, I needed a two-hour notice. I was anxious about getting the car and I wondered when it would be in my house so I called them to ask. They told me that they will check with the driver and will give me a callback. They called me about 11:30 and said that the car will arrive at 1:00. It was a little short notice as I was still working.
I got home three minutes before 1:00 and I waited for them to show up but they did not show up until about 6:00. Once the driver got to my house, I talked to him and he said that he always tries to give a four-hour window. He went from one big city to another and he was running through traffic lights. He told the rep who called him that it would be 1:00 to 5:00 and that in our vicinity, it would be closer to 5:00. It was a little aggravating and the driver was aggravated too and he apologized. He was a nice guy and super careful to get the car down because it was raining when he showed up. I was happy with what he did. The rep at Sherpa was probably telling me what I wanna hear, which is sooner than later, but they need to listen to the driver a little more. Other than that, everything went well.

When a customer chooses Sherpa Auto Transport, they are choosing to work with a company that isn’t content to simply take their money. Our representatives are well-versed on the ins-and-outs of the auto transport industry and work hard to make sure that customers feel not only confident working with us, but knowledgeable about how the car shipping process works in general.
We apologize for the miscommunication in your delivery time. As your driver explained to you, carriers often have multiple pickups and deliveries along their routes. These logistics combined with fluctuating and often unpredictable weather conditions often make it challenging to provide a specific delivery time. We work hard to be in sync with our drivers and as our reviews can attest, most of the time that is exactly what happens.

Sherpa had a personable rep and she made a good first impression on me so I sealed the deal with them. The quote that they provided me was very good and very competitive. In most cases, they were less and others have adjusted their price because they were following after the pricing that I received from Sherpa. I ended up paying close to the quote I originally got and the cost was in line with the quality of service I received from them. But, the initial pick-up was a problem because their people promised me that they would be there on a Saturday at a particular time and no one knew who was supposed to pick up the vehicle from my shipping point. I had trouble finding someone new so I had to make several calls to find out who was supposed to be here. But the delivery was good and it arrived on schedule. It took five days to ship my Volkswagen Beetle from Maryland to Texas and it was as it was when I shipped it.

Hi Walter. Thank you for sharing your experience. We are committed to improving our service and customer feedback is instrumental in making that happen. Carriers often have multiple pickups and drop-offs along their routes. These complex logistics, along with unpredictable weather and road conditions, can make it difficult to provide specific delivery and pickup times. While we push our drivers to provide us with the most accurate timelines as possible so that we can keep our customers informed, as we did with your on-time pickup, sometimes these complexities can present challenges. We appreciate your flexibility and patience and are grateful you trusted us to ship your Volkswagen.

I called five different transport companies and with the combination of reading reviews, positive follow-through and experience with talking to people, I decided to use Sherpa Auto Transport. Their staff remembered me from my first call and they had all the information. Then, when they found the driver for me, they let me know right away. I could also text a live person whenever I needed someone. The transport was for my daughter’s car and the timeframe met our expectations. It was all positive experience and I'd recommend them.

With all the options available in the marketplace, we appreciate you choosing Sherpa Auto Transport. We promise to treat each car we move like it’s our own - something you experienced first hand when you worked together to relocate your vehicle. I needed a transport service for the purchase of a vehicle in New York to move it to Georgia. I looked at a couple of transport companies and decided to go with Sherpa Auto Transport. They were very keen to do the business and got the car booked very quickly. Their reps were very good and very helpful. We had some issues because the car was in New York and the owner wasn’t actually with it. So, the rep went out of his way to get everything organized and was good at communicating that it was picked up and the car was actually days ahead of when they said it was gonna be, so the service and communications were very good.
The quote that I was provided was fair. For the service, it was right on it definitely. The vehicle was picked up late on Friday night and it was with me Monday morning. So, the delivery took about 48 hours. The driver was perfect. With the size of the vehicle, he couldn't get on the subdivision but he got very close and called me. We met, exchanged the cash and the vehicle was ready. Everything was perfect. The cost was very good and the value for money was great. Sherpa is a very professional company and my experience with them was extremely positive. I'd definitely recommend them.

I had to move and I looked into five transport companies where I entered online and requested a quote. The interactions with the Sherpa customer service reps were wonderful and so I went with them as they made it easy. The quote they gave me was accurate and although the cost was a little more, it was all-inclusive and that helped me make the decision to go with them too. Especially some other quotes were lower, but it could go up, so I went with the sure bet. I felt like tge reps at Sherpa were experts and they explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. They made sure everything was all covered and that there were no hidden fees. The reps at Sherpa calling me immediately and calling me a few days before just to remind me about their service was nice.
The delivery of my vehicle was good and was faster than I expected. It was also flexible 'cause we were split. My wife has moved already, so she was able to pick up the car, and I was able to drop it off, so the delivery worked out great. Also, the vehicle looked great when it arrived. The driver was also great and the communication we had was excellent. I felt great about moving since there are a lot of things all in play at once, and the car was the simplest part. The experience we had with Sherpa was excellent and I was impressed with their customer service in which I really value that.

I tried to get the pricing for another shipping company then I looked at the ConsumerAffairs and googled who Sherpa was. Back then, I had to relocate within two weeks, so I had no time to shop around and I decided to go with Sherpa. I had a good interaction with their reps. The quote they provided was higher than what the other company gave me and their justification was that it was hard to get somebody who was going to Napa because it was more remote than San Fran or downtown. I could understand that but it was at a couple of hundred dollars more than the cheapest rate that I found with the other company. But in the end, I paid the same amount as final cost.
Also, the timeframe for the delivery was good and really quick, which was nice. But I had them ship my Land Rover to an accredited dealer because I was to finally arrive in town after a week later. And when they dropped my car off, there was some miscommunication between the driver and the dealership service center. But they sorted that out.
When I got my car, it has a pen mark on my front seat that I know was not there when they picked it up. But other than that, I didn’t see anything else wrong with my vehicle. All in all, Sherpa's fee was expensive but that got the job done. They were also accommodating and the whole transaction was convenient. But if one were to ask me if Sherpa was good, I'd say that they could have done better.

There were five different transport companies that I looked into and decided to go with Sherpa due to their cost. Sherpa also got back to me right away and I used their service just for moving. The quote they provided seemed very reasonable and it was accurate. I interacted with their reps over the phone and they were very helpful. They picked up the phone right away and then called me back when they had questions. I got an email saying the truck had arrived but it hadn’t arrived. So, I contacted them and they got back to me right away.
The shipment took nine days from Washington to Seattle. My vehicle was picked up within walking distance of my house in D.C. and then the driver dropped it off within walking distance of my house in Seattle. That was different than a lot of trucking or shipping companies that had said that they would need me to leave the city or go somewhere far away just to deliver the vehicle. But Sherpa was able to do it right in the city so that was nice.

Ailene, thank you for allowing us to transport your vehicle. We pride ourselves on not only helping you move your vehicle but being with you every step of the way to answer any questions you may have about your move or how the auto transport process works in general.
We’re thrilled that the carrier we worked with to relocate your vehicle was able to deliver your car very close to your home. We are proud to offer door-to-door service so long as the driver can navigate the neighborhood streets safely. Thank you again and hopefully, we can work together again!

I needed to ship a vehicle to my daughter who goes to a university in the East Coast. Sherpa was definitely costlier but I still chose them. I got a huge comfort factor by talking to the person at Sherpa. The rep could answer all my questions, they were very confident and they were talking in more certain terms which suited well with what we wanted. I was always very satisfied with their reps. They were very, very responsive not only when I was talking to them before deciding but also once we had decided. They were keeping us in touch of the progress until we could find a driver. And then even later, whenever I wrote them an email, they always responded quickly.
The driver and I met at a common place because it was a huge rig which could not come closer to our home. So, we went to a huge parking lot and I saw the whole process of him loading the vehicle and there was this huge comfort factor. He even shared his phone number with us. If we had any concerns, we could call the him while he was on the journey. And when my relative received the car, they were happy. Although he could not bring the rig, he unloaded the car and drove it to the home of my relative. The delivery took about the same time that they projected which was five days. We paid around $1,400. I wished it was a little cheaper though. Nonetheless, I would recommend them. In fact, I already recommended them to two people.

Their reps were very helpful and really good about the dates as well as when I should go in the city based on cost. Also, I had to change our plans because of things and they were very reasonable and easy to work with. The quote they gave me was reasonable, too and it was the exact amount I paid as final cost. The delivery was very fast and took four days. I met the driver at the location and our interaction was easy and quick. Plus, the vehicle arrived in perfect condition.

I used Sherpa to ship my Hyundai Chevron on the last minute as I was relocating. I have looked at two more other transport companies but I liked Sherpa's price. The rep gave me a good rundown on what the procedure was and what they do. Then they told me that they found somebody who was gonna ship my car and I got a hold of the actual company. The driver and I had to meet at a bigger parking lot because of their vehicle. Other than that, they were good and everything looked okay with the car when it was delivered. Also, the cost of service was very accurate. The initial quote was exactly what I paid as the final cost. I was expecting the delivery to be a little bit later but when they got here, that was phenomenal. Sherpa did well and I was very happy with the service. If they just keep doing that great job they did for me to other customers, then that's good.

My son was moving cross-country and we needed to transport his SUV. I looked into two other transport companies but decided to go with Sherpa. The quote they provided was fair and it was comparable to what I've looked into. Also, the customer service was outstanding and the reps were super accommodating. They said they'd do whatever they can to make the move seamless as it was a big transition for me. They reassured me that the car would be there on time and I need not worry. They also told me that they could make changes, if there are any, without penalty.
It was stressful enough to have my son leave the nest and go to school back East but Sherpa made the transport super seamless and it was the easiest part of this whole moving thing. My son said the delivery went smoothly. The driver called when he was about an hour away and he and my son decided on a spot at a big-box store with a big parking lot because the driver couldn't deliver the car into his apartment. Sherpa was awesome and I would definitely use them again if I need to.

Janine, we understand how stressful relocating a loved one can be. That’s why we promise to be there every step of the way - from the first phone to the post-delivery follow-up - making your auto transport experience as stress-free as possible. We promise to always be upfront, honest and communicative - something you experienced first hand as we worked together.
While we proudly provide door-to-door service, our carriers often have big trailers which can make maneuvering narrow streets difficult. In situations like these, we defer to the judgment of the driver for safety reasons. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. Please let us know if your son decides to move back home so we can help you get his car shipped!

My daughter gave me her car because she bought a new one, so I had it transported from California to Glendale, Arizona. Sherpa seemed to be a smaller company and had good reviews, so I chose them right off the bat. I called them two months before I could actually transport the car because I had a Ford I need to sell. So when I called back, the young lady that I talked to even remembered talking to me and that was a plus. She was wonderful and a great customer service representative.
Right after I had called them, I got an e-mail that they had found a transport company. Everything was set up and it just went right on. And where I live, the driver couldn’t set a big transport truck, so he was just outside the gate and he called to let me know. Then I went out, got my car, and everything was fine. I couldn’t believe how smoothly it went. The final price was the same as the quote they gave me and the cost was excellent for the service. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

When you work with Sherpa Auto Transport it isn’t a run-of-the-mill experience. We promise to be with you every step of the way and not only provide fair prices based on real-time data, but also a highly personal experience. Hearing that you would refer us to others is the greatest form of compliment. Thank you for trusting us with your vehicle. We look forward to working with you again in the future!

We relocated from the West Coast to the East Coast with two vehicles, so we needed to use a transport service. Sherpa Auto Transport transported one from Mountain View, California to Boston and the second one was from Salt Lake City to Green Bay, Wisconsin. We were supposed to drive across the country, but our trip was interrupted by a death in the family. Sherpa arranged the transport in 24 hours and picked the car up in Salt Lake City at the hotel. We went to the funeral and the car met us in Green Bay a few days later.
I had originally booked with another company two months in advance, but on the day of the transport, they were nowhere to be found. We had already paid them and they had assigned a driver. The driver called me on the day of the pick up and said that he was not scheduled to be there for two more days. We were flying out to drop our son off at college, so we were stuck. They said not to worry and that they would take care of it. They notified us the next day that they had picked the vehicle up. We got home two days later and found that the car in the driveway had not been picked up. The driver told me that he was gonna pick it up first thing in the morning and when I called back the next morning, I said that the car was still on the driveway, but the driver reported that he picked it up an hour ago. That company was a disaster.
I called Sherpa because they had such a high review. They arranged the transport on the same day on an emergency basis, got a driver, and picked the car up and took it to Boston. That bailed us out of a bad situation and it went well. They kept us informed. We couldn’t even get the other company to answer the phone, but Sherpa always answered the phone and they always knew where the car was and gave us updates. I dealt with a different person for each of the transport. After we shipped the first car, we had a second car and we were driving that one across the country a week later. We got on the road, but five days into the trip, my wife’s mother died in Wisconsin, so we had to interrupt the trip and we dealt with another Sherpa person who picked the car up and arranged it all. They took the problem out of our hands and solved it. They bailed us out twice in a row, two weeks apart.
There were two separate women who did a phenomenal job and they did the moves on an emergency basis for the same price that was my original quote from the other company. They felt bad for my situation with my mother-in-law and they gave me a $50 discount. The cost was great and finding a driver on two occasions in a day was phenomenal. I had moved vehicles across the country before over my career and this was the easiest move that I have done. Everything happened flawlessly.

I was moving and there was a truck in Alabama that I wanted to move out here in Texas. I read the reviews for Sherpa and then, I was pleased with the website and how everything was laid out. All the information was answered and I didn’t get that from the other companies so much and there were some bad reviews on the other ones. Sherpa’s reps were very easy to work with. They ran into one problem and it was resolved quickly, so I was pleased with that. People always want a lower quote but I was satisfied and it was exactly what I was charged.
I had to put a date in for the pickup and I had to make it work since I thought it was around that day. I understand the logistics of it but it was frustrating. I drove 15 hours to get there at the pickup location and didn’t even sleep. By the time I got there, it was four in the morning but the driver got there at eight in the morning. Then, there was a communication barrier because the driver didn’t speak good English. My grandfather was there for the pickup but I'm glad I went because that would have been a little more challenging for my grandfather than it was for me. We got through it and even my wife while receiving the truck. There was no problem with the delivery and when the truck arrived, it was perfect.
There was a female there when I was getting my vehicle picked up who was asking questions about Sherpa. She was trying to get information from the driver who didn’t speak in English. So, I talked to her and gave her the number to contact Sherpa and the website. I also told her how I came up with the decision, so it was sort of a credible review to her and I think she was looking to get a vehicle moved as well.

Sherpa seemed trustworthy and we had them transport our vehicle for roughly 2,000 miles to Los Angeles. Though their quote was a little bit higher than the other transport services, I felt like it was worth it to know upfront what the cost would be with no potential surprises. We had to go back and forth with their reps regarding some concerns about payment because they wanted specifically a certified check versus a cashier’s check. But they were very responsive and I was very pleased. The delivery was super quick. The new building where we live received it for us because we were still in Chicago. But from my understanding, it was seamless, smooth and very professional. It was a very positive experience and I would absolutely use them again.

I also looked at a review with Sherpa and it seems reliable and safe. I filled something out online and then I got a call. They asked me when I wanted my car there and how much I could afford. Then they emailed me a few times after that to confirm. My only concern was that I received my car a few days late. And because of that, I had to take out a rental car which added some cost to my trip. But it wasn’t that big of a deal on the grand scheme of things and the condition of the vehicle was perfect when it arrived. I also spoke to whoever was managing the driver and he seemed nice too. He let me know that the driver would be calling.

Amy, thank you for allowing us to transport your car. We empathize with the frustration of having your drop-off date delayed are grateful for your patience as your driver worked with you to deliver your car. I asked a lot of friends if they had ever moved a car across the country and Sherpa was the only one where I got at least a decent response. Everybody else said all the other ones were bad.
I had a good experience with the people at Sherpa. They were very responsive to any questions. We wanted to put things like brooms in the back of the car and they were very good about explaining that that would be based on the driver. That was our only question and other than that, it was all straightforward. Sherpa's quote was also what everybody else had quoted so it was reasonable. Also, I noticed that reviews on other transports said that when there was an issue getting a driver, the other companies bumped the quote. But Sherpa maintained the quote for us and took less of the broker's fee, which was very nice.
The driver was on time picking up the car but we had one hiccup with the drop-off. The transport company screwed up and made us panic for a minute. We were told the car was gonna be later than it was so we were expecting it a day later. But the driver brought it exactly when he said he was gonna do it. We must have been mixed us up with somebody else and apparently, they weren't talking to the driver. That aside, the driver was nice enough when we picked up the car. They couldn't bring it to the actual townhouse because there was no way they could've gotten into those narrow streets. So we met somewhere and that worked out fine. I knew to expect that it would be dirty, and that was basically what happened. It was fine. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd do it again with Sherpa. Sherpa Auto Transport had a really great price when I had them ship a Maserati and a Yukon XL. They were also able to do it right away and the time they were going to keep my vehicle is the shortest out of any company that I called. The cars were picked up on a Thursday and they were handed to us on a Saturday which blew my expectations out of the water. And the guy that dropped off my car was amazing. He moved the Maserati it like a pro and I told him that I’d never seen anybody get the car off of the trailer the way he did. I have seen guys use stacks and Styrofoam and it's a scary process. But the guy drove his back wheels upon the big blocks that flatten the trailer out and the car slid right off. Everything was perfect. We were very satisfied and I would recommend them.

My daughter is doing to do a semester in Los Angeles for college and we were shipping a Ford Escape 2015 to her from New Jersey. We looked on the internet and made a brief search. Then all of a sudden, our phone got crazy. It got a little annoying because all these different companies called three times a day. We only looked at two companies online and I didn't know where they all got our name from. It was a little overwhelming and my husband narrowed the choices down. Sherpa Auto Transport's quote was reasonable, although we were hoping that it would be a little less. But we needed the car there and we had to pay whatever the price was.
When the driver reached California, he called my daughter. We told him that she was not going to be in LA until Sunday night but he called her on Friday, said that he was there, and asked if he could deliver. My daughter said that she was still in New Jersey and hadn't left yet. We were specific that it was Monday that we needed a pick-up, but he tried to deliver earlier. Then he came back on Monday and everything was fine. My daughter was in a school apartment and they came there and met where it was specified. Upon the vehicle's arrival, it was filthy, but Sherpa offers a car wash service, so my daughter said that she absolutely needed the car wash.
The final cost was fine, but the it was a little confusing. We knew the dollar amount and it said, "Cash or certified check." I went to the bank and I said I needed a certified check, but they said that they no longer do certified checks and that they would give me a bank check instead. We were confused if a bank check was going to be good or not, so we got a little nervous. My daughter was out there and she had no access to cash at the time. We were also a little confused on who to make it out to. In the end, we gave the driver cash. He was very nice on pick-up. My husband said that he wanted to take a picture to give to my daughter, so she would know who she was picking up from at the other end and he was very willing to do that and gave a nice smile. All in all, I have no complaints about Sherpa's service and we are probably gonna do the same thing in bringing the vehicle back.

We were moving and we needed to have our car shipped. We looked at three other companies online and we ended up with Sherpa Auto Transport. The person on the phone was really helpful. Every time we called Sherpa, we spoke with somebody different. They were all very professional, helpful and courteous. It was good from there and we had a good feeling. We got all the information online, so we could read it and we were clear about it. And then, the driver called when they said he would, and it kept continuing to be consistently.
The driver stayed in communication with us about the car. He let us know when he was gonna be there. We all agreed on the spot, scouted it out, went there, and he was there exactly when he said he would. We met the driver somewhere because the trucks are big. We met him in a big parking lot area on a side street and it was perfect. We paid over seven for the car uncovered but it was fine. Though we would have preferred it being right around the 500 mark, which was going one state over, not across the country. But given that, it just went over to Arizona. It went 10 hours away for that. A couple of hundred dollars less would have been a little bit better, but the car got there safe and it got there in two days so everything was fine. We've also gotten a lot of emails from Sherpa, confirming the car was delivered. They don't just do the service, leave and then don't hear from them again. So, it was all good.

I went to some transportation website and Sherpa was recommended to me. They have very good customer service. The quote that was provided to me also matched the final cost of service. The vehicle was picked up at my house and then it was delivered to my brother in Arizona, and the time frame met my expectations. I would recommend Sherpa.

I was relocating and when I looked at some reviews of transport companies, Sherpa kept coming up as one of the top ones. It’s unfortunate that it is expensive to ship a car but the cost was fair. I did notice however, a couple of days after I got home, that there was a decent-sized scratch on one of the rear windshields. My brother handled the delivery and he didn’t notice it. I also didn’t notice it at first. Unfortunately, I didn’t really have time to address it because I had to go to Greece to get married. But whenever you ship a car there’s a possibility of something happening. I was pleased that it wasn’t more than that. The experience was great aside from that. They were really fast too. It was even much faster than expected.

We were moving from Washington to Arizona and we looked at two transport companies. When we spoke to Sherpa, they seemed knowledgeable and weren't pushy. ConsumerAffairs was also the deciding factor. The quote we got was competitive with the other ones that we've called. However, the delivery of the vehicle was a little strange. They told us that they would be at the house to pick up the car at a certain time and date, and gave us a timeframe. I asked if it was gonna be a big truck or a little truck because they can't get a big nine-passenger car trailer in our cul-de-sac. They weren't quite sure and were a little fuzzy on all that.
When it was getting to be near the end of the pickup time, we had to call and ask where the driver was. Sherpa said that they would call him. We were outside by the garage and there was the wild driver coming down the driveway, skidding across the cul-de-sac and screeching the brakes. It was a broken-down old SUV with one fender missing and airbags off. I went out to meet him and asked if he would be filling out to pick up our car. He said, "This is your car." He had that car on his small tow truck that can handle three vehicles. He called his office and they said he had dropped off the wrong car. He was supposed to drop that broken-down car off somewhere else and pick up the Mercedes at our house. Then, the driver said that he would be back.
He rearranged another vehicle on his truck and he picked up our Mercedes. The guy who was the original driver was sick, so he had his brother come in, however, his brother was a mechanic. They got off to a bumpy start with this, and all I could think of was that it was gonna be a miracle if the car would go down to Phoenix. It did and it was in one piece, the story came out well and it was timely. They picked up the car on the 15th of August and delivered it on the 22nd. The driver and the company needed to communicate a little better. They didn't tell us that they were picking up the vehicle here, taking it in a smaller truck down to Portland, loading it on a big carrier in Portland, and sending it. But they were pretty good overall.

Thank you for providing such thorough feedback. We improve every time our customers provide us with important information about how our drivers perform. Apparently, this driver didn’t deliver on our high standards and because of the experience you had with him, we are going to remove him from our network of preferred carriers so that other customers won’t have a similar experience. Thank you for trusting us to move your car. We’re glad that in the end your vehicle was delivered safely and successfully.

I was moving from coast to coast and I was shipping a BMW. I chose Sherpa among the four companies I looked into because they had better ratings. But initially, I went with another company. Their price was significantly lower but when it came down to scheduling someone, they charged $400 more that they essentially had the same price as Sherpa. If they were not giving me the full price upfront, I might as well go with Sherpa, so that was what I did. Their reps were pretty good and they went through all of the information. They were able to address any of my concerns, so I felt comfortable working with them. Also, I paid exactly what they quoted.
The delivery and pickup went great as well. The vehicle of the pick-up folks that they subcontracted broke down so they came a day later. But I didn't mind that. Accidents happen. And they texted me to let me know when they got it fixed and when they were on their way. The communications was really good and I was very pleased with it. The people that picked up my car were the same people that delivered it and they were very nice. They were also very attentive to my car. They took pictures and took the time. I felt bad for them that they had broken down because I know how that is.
All in all, the entire time it took them to delivery my car very short. They picked it up on a Thursday night then I got on a plane on Saturday to get to Florida and they said the car was ready on Sunday. I couldn't even believe it. But I told them to deliver it on Monday. Also, the cost of their service was proportional to the quality of their service. It was summer at the time and I understand that it cost a little bit higher, with the air conditioning, gas, and everything else. They give you a $50 coupon, too. I still need to cash in mine by emailing them a copy of the bill of lading I got from the transport people.

I had a good experience with Sherpa Auto Transport. I needed somebody to get my 2008 Vette from Utah quickly, and they did it. They got it down to Florida for me. It’s 750 miles on the road, I didn't want to drive at all and get a lot of road wear on the car. They gave me a reasonable quote, considering the gas prices and everything else, in the nick of time. Though it was around $65 less than what I actually paid.
It took them about five days to deliver the car and they didn't scuff up its bottom like a transporter I had once before. In my experience with car transport, I've had three, they were hell to deal with. But it was quick and easy dealing with Sherpa. They called me at the last moment, telling me one of their drivers pulled out on them, but they managed to come back and they fixed that. I may drive back next time I had to move but if I gotta ship the car, I’ve got Sherpa’s number and I'll probably call them up to do it again. The guy that I worked with was nice and was knowledgeable with cars and he knew what he was doing. I trust him. I'd definitely recommend them.

We're a military family and we wanted to drive one car across. I looked at about five different transport companies, but I liked the Sherpa Auto Transport representative. She was very thorough, informative, very kind, and patient. She explained the whole process and how the transport works. She answered all my questions and didn't hesitate. She knew all the answers, so she was well-prepared. She did it many times and she explained the difference between the closed and the open transport. The only critique I have is that other people kept calling me because they can see that my car had not been assigned to a driver yet. They gave me a date for pick-up and we were approaching that date, but I still hadn't heard a confirmation from them.
I didn't get a confirmation until the day before and it was two days before I was scheduled. I got a confirmation that the car was getting picked up that evening. It was a really short and immediate notice. I had contacted a different carrier for my car, thinking I would need a back-up, and as soon as I called the other one, Sherpa sent me an email saying that my car was being picked up at 8 o'clock that night. So, I had to make arrangements. If Sherpa had better follow-through, it would be perfect. I had to stop my day to call somebody else and worry, and I tried to figure out and got the short notice of the pick-up. Also, I was car-less, so I had to rent a car and it was a bit of an inconvenience.
The quote that I received wasn't the lowest, but it wasn't the highest. It was right in the middle and Sherpa gave us a military discount. Also, there were customer reviews for Sherpa that showed me that the couple hundred dollars more I was paying was worth it. Our vehicle was transported from California to Ohio and it was great. Our driver was awesome and very professional. He took great care of the car. He told me the time of delivery and he was there at that time. The car was already unloaded because he got there a little earlier and he was ready to check it. I would use him again.

Maria, we’re so glad you had a great experience working with our representatives to get your vehicle shipped. Part of what sets Sherpa Auto Transport apart from our competition is that we won’t work with just any carrier. Finding an appropriate driver is our priority, an effort which can take time. As soon as we find the driver who best suits your needs (and meets our high standards) - we let you know. It’s wonderful to hear that our thorough vetting process worked and you had such a positive experience with the “awesome” driver we chose for you.

Their quote was competitive. The quote I originally received was $300 to the transport company and $1100 to the driver. It turned out to be $250 for the transport company and $1200 for the driver. It was within 50 bucks if I split the difference but it was nothing troublesome. I did an open transport and the car was filthy when it got here but Sherpa did the whole carwash thing which was a nice little perk. The drivers were very friendly and were able to accept PayPal which was very convenient. I didn’t have to worry about bringing $1200 in cash out to a parking lot somewhere.

The quote that was provided to me by Sherpa was reasonable. It was up to the par or quite equal to the other quotes. The customer service at Sherpa went as smoothly as it could. There were a couple of times when the driver was not picking up my calls. I called customer service and they were able to retrieve information from him, like where he was because the driver promised me around three times that he would be there. He may have been so close somewhere, but he didn't want to take my calls.
Also, the delivery was 14 days late and I started with my new company on the same day it came in. He said that he was going in two hours, but I was in an orientation that day and I was not able to get out, so I called up my brother who missed his office for half a day to pick that car up. The driver was very unreasonable. He said that he was going to Oregon the next day and if I didn't pick up that day, then I might have to pick it up the next week. The car was dirty at the time of delivery and my brother was trying to find many scratches, but the truck driver wanted to go as fast as he could. He said that it was time to go and that if my brother could get the car clean that day, then let him know if there were any scratches. Overall, there was no damage, so that was good. I found out that even though Sherpa didn't have as long as a history, they still had better star ratings. So I went with that. Sherpa's representatives were also really good on the phone. They were real nice and they did what they said they were gonna do. So I was happy.
The only problem I had was with the driver from JPF Trucking. He didn't go to the place that was indicated to meet me for the pickup. He came to the apartment even though I had told him I really couldn't have a driver there. So he met me on the side of the highway, which was dangerous. But that wasn't Sherpa's fault. Then for the delivery, he also brought it to a different address. We were trying to meet him in the parking lot of a store so we wouldn't have this big truck blocking this little tiny road in front of our house. I even called Sherpa and told them to make sure the guy would not come to the street. The spot was right around the corner. But he came here anyway. That aside, I had a good experience with Sherpa. We needed a transport service to transport my daughter's car to her college. Sherpa charged a couple hundred dollars more than the other place I checked but told me they can get the car there in time so that's why I went with them. But our experience with the driver was not the best. He couldn't locate our address to pick up the car and they said that the road that they found were only allowing cars, not trucks in it. I told him that the last time I got picked up, they came with a truck and I just drove the car down to the end of the road. Here, we had to drive about half an hour at night to where the Sherpa driver was with his truck to drop the car off. We also had to use two cars, so we could drive one off in Valhalla and then get a ride back to Colton Manor in the other car.
Then my wife's in Indiana and was there to get my daughter. The driver gave her a timeline that was gonna be three or four hours from where he actually called and said he'll pick the car by 9 o'clock. So my wife made plans to do other things and then around 7 o'clock the driver said he's at the location and my wife was an hour away. He never called her when things changed.
The adult in charge of the sorority house where my daughter lives called my wife and said there is a guy waiting with the car and asking her to pay him. Finally, when my wife got there an hour later, the guy told her she's supposed to pay in cash. My wife told him she had a certified bank check made out to Sherpa Auto and he took it. We thought it was strange that he'd be asking for cash when all the paperwork said a money order or a bank check. But other than that, setting up the appointment was fine. Also, I appreciate that Sherpa said they're sorry about what happened and asked what they can do to make it up to us.

It took about six days to ship the Chrysler 200, and the pick-up and the delivery were really quick. The vehicle also arrived in the exact same condition. Hi Melissa. Thank you, and your husband, for your service to our country. We're glad that you experienced our professional and communicative representatives first hand as you relocated your vehicle. We take pride in not only keeping our customers informed on the status of their transport but educating them about how the process works so they can make informed decisions. Drivers often have multiple pickups and deliveries along their routes. These complex logistics often make it difficult at times for a carrier to pinpoint exact times and dates for drop off and pick up. Regardless, we completely understand your frustration and will continue to push our drivers to be as specific as possible about their arrival times - just as we have always done.

We were on an extended vacation. We drove to the location but wanted to fly back, so we needed a transport service to ship our Audi SUV. I looked at around four transport companies then it boiled down to two and we ended up with Sherpa Auto Transport. I liked their responsiveness and the accuracy in what they were telling me the process would be like. The quote they provided was also different by $50 or $100 compared to the other companies that I looked at. Their customer service rep was good in the beginning, but we had a bit of a hiccup in getting the driver. The first driver they booked for us bailed out and there was a little less clarity after that, but they fixed it and got it done.
The experience wasn't flawless, but it was good. The vehicle was transported from Maine to Texas and it took more than a day. It arrived a little later than we expected but within the range of what they told us. I dealt with the driver and his company and the condition of the vehicle was fine when it arrived. The price was good as well and, ultimately, Sherpa's performance was good.

I needed to transport a vehicle from New Jersey to Texas. I got quotes from around five companies but I liked the customer service from Sherpa's reps, so I went with them. They were personable, informative, and if I had any questions or problems, they sought to clarify and get the time to answer them. And of course, their price was reasonable. The quote they gave me was also accurate to the final cost I ended up paying. They got the car delivered in four days and during that time, I was able to talk to the driver. He was different from the one who picked up the car though. So somehow they switched drivers, but I was able to find out how things were going along the way.

I was shipping the 2004 Mazda I purchased online from Omaha, Nebraska to Oakland, California. Sherpa’s price was competitive originally and then the online ratings I found were as strong as the competitors. I found them through another company and the bid they sent me expired by the time I was gonna pay for it with a card to hire a shipper. So, I contacted them to tell them I wanna hire them because of that bid, but it had expired. They sent me another bid, except they didn’t do it for the other company.
While the car was being transported, some fluid spilled on the car that ruined the paint on every body panel of the car. So, when the car showed up with $6,000 of damage, I couldn’t go to the company that Sherpa used to have their insurance to help arrange some kind of settlement. I went to the other company because they’re an eBay company and I knew that they wanna protect their brand and they would have support if something went wrong. However, since Sherpa went outside that system, I could no longer turn to them to help me handle a situation with thousands of dollars of damage to a car I just bought.
I was disappointed because Sherpa was obviously acting as a broker and they didn’t make that clear about how they had limited responsibility. I contacted them wanting to handle this through insurance. They just passed me off to the firm that they subcontracted and that firm didn’t have any interest in making me happy as a customer or protecting their brand. Their subcontractor falsified documents and fixed us so that we couldn’t make a claim. I have the pictures for all this because it had to go with my insurance. When the truck driver picked up the car, he marked that the car was badly damaged, the paint had a lot of flaws, except we have photographs of the car from the same day it was picked up to document conditions.
The seller who sold the car knew that I hired Sherpa and so, when they peered at this document, they thought it was really odd and they took a photograph of it. The driver didn’t even give them a copy of the document. The seller on eBay took the liberty of taking a photograph of it when they signed it because they knew it was ridiculous to have no documentation. At this point, I had paid for the car. I had the car transported to my auto repair shop in the area because they could be available on business hours. Also, they were tasked with inspecting the car before I drove it to make sure it was safe and in an optimal condition. They never saw the car before. So, when the car was delivered, they saw paperwork that said it was a mess and they noticed that something was spilled all over it. The driver of the truck said that the car looked that way when he got it, which we know was an outright lie.
These are just auto repair guys who were given the paperwork to accept the car. They were told the car looked like that. They signed it and as soon as they did that, we couldn’t make any insurance claims because the driver had arranged for no documentation at the time documenting their damage. They did that using falsified paperwork and they lied to the people. We didn’t even have any paperwork about who dropped off the car. So, here’s a company that I hired, and somebody I didn’t hire drops it off damaged with paperwork. Fortunately, we have the photographs when I got the car, when I finally got to the pick-up place two days later and when it was put on the truck. There was a testimony from the auto guy who said that the stuff wasn’t on that before. They were not exposing the car to corrosive chemicals in their shop.
My insurance company could not prove that they did it because they had tactfully arranged for no documentation of damage, so I’m down with my $1,000 deductible because I had over $6,000 damage with paint. I have a damaged car and I gotta make arrangements to have it fixed. I don’t know how many weeks this is gonna take and when I called Sherpa, they said they would put me in touch with this subcontractor. I called the other company to tell them I took Sherpa because I know that they were gonna care about their brand and that they knew how to handle this. They said that I did this outside of their system and they couldn’t help me. It happened because Sherpa eventually sent me the bid outside the system. The whole reason I picked them was they were in the system and I didn’t wanna get caught with the exact situation that happened.
This was the first time I shipped a car and I have a strong opinion of the ethics of car shippers now. It would make a difference if Sherpa would at least give me $1,000 for my deductible and will let my insurance handle the rest of it. If they’re not willing to do that, the absolute minimum is 100% refund of every dollar I gave them to damage my car over $6,000. We have all the documentation, including photographs, five times stamped when they were taken. Their customer service was very helpful in helping me understand how their system worked as far as payment and arrangement but I am very disappointed that I hired Sherpa. I make sure to warn other people that their business practices were borderline unethical and not to use them.

We sincerely regret that this customer did not have a positive transport experience and Sherpa worked diligently to address his issues. The review below has numerous inaccuracies that the customer acknowledged. Unfortunately, he has declined to correct them. As can be seen in the myriad of positive responses that is typical of our transports, this situation was not only unfortunate but highly unusual.
We think it is important that we learn and improve from every interaction that is less than perfect. This particular driver did not live up to our exacting standards and has been flagged so that they cannot be used for any of our customers’ transports in the future. We had never had any previous issues with them, but will not use them again. It is also important for all of our customers to understand how important an accurate and complete Bill of Lading is. In the unlikely event of any damages to your vehicle in transit, you should document the situation comprehensively on the Bill of Lading upon delivery. The Bill of Lading is the document that the insurance companies rely on to assess the situation and process claims. We provide this guidance verbally to every customer and also via email. In light of this situation, we have even incorporated an additional email to each customer to reiterate the specific preparations that should be made in advance and upon delivery. While adhering to this advice wouldn’t have prevented the issue, this customer’s process and the outcome would likely have been different if he had done so.
Sherpa Auto Transport goes above and beyond to take care of each and every one of our customers, treating each vehicle transported as if it were our own. We encourage you to read all our reviews as the vast majority of our customers have outstanding experiences and many ship with us again.

But I went with Sherpa because the woman that I initially spoke with was very informative, helpful and made me feel comfortable with the process. The quote was fair and it was right in where everyone else was. Also, they originally said the timeframe is 7 to 10 days and the transport only took seven days.

We shipped two vehicles from Charlotte, North Carolina all the way to California. We looked at Sherpa and two other companies but the girl at Sherpa really gave me time and talked about the procedure. So, their communication made them the best choice for us. The quote they gave us was also very fair. For one of the cars, the transporter broke down, so it was really late getting here. But Sherpa's reps communicated every day and kept in touch with us. Also, their driver couldn’t have been nicer. But the driver of the other car was late and rude. When he got here, he wasn’t great to work with. But overall, it was a good experience.

I was moving from Wisconsin to California and I needed to transport a vehicle. I liked the reviews I read on Sherpa's website and based on what I looked at, they had the highest reviews compared to other companies. The processes of getting the quote, their set up, and getting the car were really easy. Also, the quotes from other places were comparable to what Sherpa gave me. Plus, their reps were quick to reach out when I inquired about the price, answered any questions I had right away, and didn’t have to hang up or wait a minute and try to get information. The driver delivered the vehicle in about six days which was really quick and the car came back fine. It was my first time dealing with these kinds of things and it worked out well. If I have to move across the country, I won't have hesitations doing it again.

I looked at three different transport companies as I had to transport my husband's BMW from Delaware to California. The customer service that I received from Sherpa was very good, reassuring and thorough so I went with them. Also, the quote that I was given was good since I thought it would be a lot more expensive than it was all together. Although it was slightly a few hundred more than the other places who quoted me, Sherpa seemed like a more professional operation than the others that I've spoken to. And because I wanted better quality of service, I was okay with that.
When I made the reservation, my absolute main stipulation was for the car not to arrive before I do. I was very clear about it and I repeated it many times. Yet, when the driver came to pick up the car, he said he would see me in five days which was before I was gonna arrive in Delaware. The driver never seemed to have gotten the message which was a little frustrating. I was not satisfied with the communication between the service center and the driver.
So, the driver ended up hanging on to the car for so many days that we had to get a rental car, spending an extra couple of hundred. It didn't work out absolutely perfectly, but it did work out. They transported the vehicle in an open trailer and we got the BMW in good condition. My car was also transported but at a different set of time and not on the same trailer. Sherpa messed up a bit with the scheduling on both vehicles but we got the cars in both cases.

When I was getting set up, their reps provided me with all the information I needed and they were really friendly. The quote that they gave me was good, too. I liked it.
I had a good communication with the driver. I didn't have a good address when I first shipped, but they made it very clear that I can contact them at any time to obtain my address. I talked to the driver when he was close, and everything went smoothly. And when my car got to me, it was in the same condition as when they took it. Sherpa is a great service. I wanted to transport a Mercedes down to a family member so I looked on the internet and checked out three transport companies. There was a website that popped up with Sherpa's name as a recommended company. I tried to see if there's anything written about Sherpa and looked at the Better Business results and I didn’t see anything bad about them.
I had good interactions with Sherpa's customer service reps. They called exactly when they said they would. Their driver picked up the car at exactly the time and date Sherpa said they would which was important to me because I live in Atlanta and I was shipping the car from Colorado Springs. I flew to Colorado to get the car shipped off specifically for that. Sherpa did exactly as I asked them to do and the car got delivered fine. The original quote given to me was fair and 100% accurate. The transport vehicle was an open carrier, so the Mercedes was expected to have a few bugs on the windshield. I was moving across the country for a new job and I was shipping a Hyundai Sonata, so I needed a transport service. The shipment must have been around 1,000 or 1,500 miles. The customer service reps at Sherpa Auto Transport were great and always responsive. They responded through phone and email quickly and gave me accurate information. The quote they provided was an appropriate amount and it was less than what I thought it was gonna be. It was equivalent or equal to how much other companies said they were gonna ship the vehicle for as well. Sherpa had to take $25 or $50 out of their broker’s fee, but the quote didn’t change.
My wife picked up the vehicle. I gave them a window of about a week for picking it up. When they did, they told me it was gonna be there three days later and it was there in two. However, the driver did not speak very good English so I couldn't understand a lot of what he said.
In general, they got the car on the day they said they would and they dropped it off on the day when they said they would as well. The car's condition was fine and it was just as I left it. Sherpa's rate was very similar to other companies that have quoted me and I had a very positive experience. Sherpa had good ratings and their reps were wonderful. I had a lot of bumps in the road but they worked with me so it was great. I had to delay a few times then I had an issue with the city busting up the sidewalk in front of my driveway. They were very flexible and they found a very good driver for me. He texted me almost everyday along the route to tell me when he was gonna be there. But he couldn’t bring his big truck into my neighborhood because there are a lot of oak trees and the branches reach over the street. The truck would not have fit. But we found a spot and I met him there. He was awesome. He picked my car up on a Monday night and I got it on a Saturday. It took about five days which was awesome. It was a long way from San Francisco to the New Orleans area. I also expected my car to be really dirty, which was what Sherpa said. A lot of people see their cars as sometimes dirty because they hit rain but my car was fine.

D, it was our pleasure in helping you ship your car to New Orleans. We frequently update our carrier database to ensure we use the best drivers. It’s wonderful to hear that the driver you worked with was great at keeping in touch as your car was being transported.
As we mentioned many times throughout the transport process the safety of your vehicle is our highest priority. While we happily provide door to door service, occasionally relocating the pickup to a larger area near your home is necessary so that your vehicle can be loaded safely onto the transportation truck. Thank you for the wonderful review. We hope to work with you again in the future!

I bought a Corvette car in Ohio and I had it shipped to California where I live. That was about 2,400 miles. Sherpa was the one that got to me first. The rep who I spoke to was fine. She said if I work with them, she would get me a driver pretty quick and she did. Also, the quotes given to me were okay. I asked for a cheaper rate and I ended up paying a little less. However, they didn’t get the car there when they said they would so I ended up losing some time off from work. The car should’ve been in Fresno and they got it to Sacramento and they were gonna have somebody else bring it to Fresno. That person was supposed to be there on Friday and they said they couldn’t get it there until Monday. So I ended up going there and getting it because I don’t want to miss any more days at work.
Also, I called the driver several times but he never answered the phone and the calls always went to messages. I was just trying to figure out when he was gonna be at Fresno, but I never talked to him. Then when he got to Sacramento, he told me he didn’t have a driver, but it turned out he was the only driver there and he was the one supposed to bring it to Fresno. It wasn't a pleasant experience.

Anthony, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Sherpa Auto Transport is committed to providing excellent service with our customers. The feedback you provided shined a helpful spotlight on how we can improve and ensure customer satisfaction.
Any carrier we work with must pass a stringent set of standards. Drivers often have multiple pickups and deliveries along their routes. These complex logistics make it difficult to predict precise delivery and pickup times. That being said, communication is one of the primary tenets of our outstanding customer service. We’re sorry that this carrier did not live up to our exacting standards. After hearing about your experience we have removed this driver from our preferred network so that other customers do not have similar issues.

I moved and needed to have my Dodge Dakota transported for roughly 200 miles. I had about 10 companies that I looked at and given my experiences in the past with unsatisfactory service, I did some research on what was the best route. I wound up going to the consumer website I trusted and knowing that any company that has to be aligned with this process should have a good reputation and provide good service, I took a leap of faith with Sherpa Auto Transport and I was not disappointed. When I got a hold of them, I didn’t feel like I had someone who was trying to scam me, as often happens when anybody gets on the phone with one of these companies.
The rep walked me through the process and asked me what were my concerns, like if I had to rush. He then asked me to look over the estimate, told me the procedure for charging a car, the reason for asking for a car. Everything seemed very reputable and when they said they were gonna do something, everything went as they said. And so, I really appreciated that and I felt very comfortable moving forward with them. Also, the quote Sherpa provided was in line with what I had gathered. Often times, upon delivery, transport companies demand customers to pay more than what was quoted or they’ll damage the vehicle. But Sherpa was straightforward. Their price wasn't the cheapest but it’s money well spent. They were on point every step of the way.
Then, with the truck being in another state, I had to make arrangements with some folks where the truck was. I got contacted by the driver Sherpa got when he was about to pick up the truck and made sure I had his number. If I had any questions, I could contact him along the way. He wanted to let me know that he picked it up and he was headed on his way and he’d be there as quickly as possible. There were things that he needed to do so he gave me a window estimate for the delivery and I even received an update from him as well. He also called to double-check my address and ask very, very good questions. He asked if there was anything he should be concerned about the house, or if it was a business, and wanted to make sure that when he delivers the vehicle it was in an appropriate spot where I needed it to be. Also, because of the big rig, he was making sure there was no issue for him getting his truck in or out.
On the date of delivery, which was around 3 days after I began the process, he called me up to let me know about how long it would be that day. He also called when he was about five minutes away then he drove right up to my house. I met him outside and he stepped out, asked the person by name, shook my hand and then he introduced himself. He unloaded the truck and asked me to look it over, which I did and it was just how I left it, so I then made the payment. Every step of the way, the driver was very professional. He was a great guy and exceeded my expectations.
Sherpa earned every penny that I paid and I’d gladly do it again. I will also be telling all my friends to go this route. They treated me like they respected me. Everything was great; from the quality of the people who helped me, to taking delivery of the vehicle as well as the amount of time it took from the estimate to the delivery of the truck.

They explained the entire process as far as what my initial payment was covering and how long it would take for a truck driver or a dispatcher to be contacting me to establish the delivery date. It was all done online and the process went really well.
Additionally, the quote they gave me was fair considering what the other companies were quoting. I talked to some of my other friends who did some other longer move and they said that I got a good price. I paid exactly what Sherpa quoted initially. The delivery went well but I was still in Seattle when the vehicle got delivered. My daughter was moving back home from California and I didn’t want her to drive home. We were shipping a Honda Accord from California to Illinois and we looked at around three different transport companies. One was an indoor carrier only, so that ruled that one out. When I talked to a lady at Sherpa, she assured me that they use really good transporters and everything should go smoothly. However, I had a very horrible experience with them. My daughter was coming home on a Tuesday and I told Sherpa that I wanted the car to be picked up on Friday because I wanted to make sure that it was here and that she didn’t have any problems. She was leaving on Tuesday at 3:00 AM, so everything had to be done on Monday.
The plan was to pick it up on Friday, but my daughter didn’t hear at all from them. She called them on Friday, but the guy said that he was not picking it up because he doesn't drive on the weekend or his weekend will be taken off. He said that he will be there Monday. I then called Sherpa and I told them that I didn't understand because they said they were gonna pick it up on Friday. The rep told me that the drivers don’t drive on the weekend, but they'll pick it up Monday morning for sure.
We waited and my daughter called the driver Sunday to find out what time he was gonna be coming on Monday and he said he didn’t know yet. On Monday, when she called, because she didn’t hear from them, he said that he was in Reno, Nevada and he had to go from Reno to Sacramento, from Sacramento to Los Angeles, and Los Angeles down to Santa Rosa, and that he probably wouldn’t be able to make it on Monday because when he was going to one stop in Sacramento, they had a car that didn’t work. They had to wait for a lift to take off and he didn’t know if that lift person would be there in time.
My daughter was frantic and she called me crying. She had to leave at 3 o’clock in the morning and she was asking what she was gonna do. I called the Sherpa people again and they apologized for the time and they said that they will put pressure on the driver to get there. It was determined that he was gonna come between either 6:00 or 7:00 or 7:00 and 8:00. However, he didn’t show up until 11:30 at night. It was a good thing that my daughter had someone that could go with her because she had to drive the car quite a distance to meet the driver to pick it up, and then she had to take the Uber home.
I found out that the company that they used to transport it, when I read that person’s section, had all negative reviews. If I would have known that they were gonna go through that company, then I for sure wouldn’t have used that because it wouldn’t make any sense to do that. I couldn’t recommend them and I would never go through that again. It was a mess. In fact, I have decided that I would just go with somebody who owns their trailers. I would also tell others not to use Sherpa.

Carmella, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are committed to improving our service and customer feedback is crucial to our continued progress. It was wonderful to speak with you on the phone and work together to find a good solution as well as discuss what we could have done better. I needed to get a truck down to Florida and I didn’t wanna drive it. I looked at about three transport companies and Sherpa seemed to be the most reliable. I called them and got a quote, and they continued to follow up. I had some concerns and they addressed them. It was all done by email and was very convenient for me. The quote they gave me was high but in the end, the price was what they told me it was gonna be. And the delivery went without a hitch.

I moved cross-country and needed my Nissan Altima shipped. I looked at four companies and Sherpa was recommended on Consumer Reports when I looked them up. They called me and kept me apprised to what was going on. The transport took two days. They picked up the car and it was here when I arrived. Plus, it was in perfect condition when it arrived. They did everything they said and they kept their promise. Moreover, the quote they gave was accurate. I also had the driver's direct number. He let me know he was gonna be an hour late because he wanted to stop and get dinner. He asked if that was okay and I said it was fine. My experience with their customer service was just seamless and perfect. I was very happy. Sherpa is the best.

Hi Linda. Thank you for choosing to work with Sherpa Auto Transport. We know that there are many options available and are always grateful for the opportunity to help someone relocate their vehicle. When I moved, I needed to transport my vehicle and so I looked into several transport companies. I decided to go with Sherpa due to the assurance that they gave me, the insurance, and background checks for the driver. Their customer service reps were very informative and they made sure they stayed in touch with me and kept me updated as far as booking the driver. The transport took three days and everything was fine when they came. The car that was in the truck was secured and it was in good shape when it arrived. Also, their cost was fair. I would recommend them.

Sherpa's customer service team is topnotch. The rep that I spoke with made me feel assured that my car was going to be safe and that they vet the driver whereas the other people I called didn’t make me feel comfortable. But it took six days for my 2015 Cruze to be transported 2,349 miles so it was a day late and the driver didn't communicate with me. The Sherpa rep called the driver back though and made me feel comfortable that everything was going to be okay. The location where I met the driver also changed but the vehicle was in great condition. The cost of the service was fair too. Sherpa did a very good job. They followed up and corrected the issues I had so I was happy with that.

Hi, Elizabeth. In addition to fair pricing based on real-time data, we want to make sure that you feel well-informed about the auto transport process. It’s wonderful to hear that you experienced this first-hand when we shipped your 2015 Cruze.
Drivers often have multiple pickups and deliveries along the same route. These complex logistics can make it difficult to predict precise delivery and pickup times. We do our best to provide realistic timelines and apologize for any inconvenience your delayed drop off may have caused.
We hope that we can work together again in the future!

We were relocating from Los Angeles, California to Raleigh, North Carolina. We checked with about 10 transport companies and Sherpa had the better ratings. We called them up and they went over the move. It was very smooth. They gave us the quoted price over the phone so we knew what to expect. And it ended up being quite a bit higher than what they quoted. It would’ve been nicer if they came out and actually saw the house themselves. But overall, their quality of service was fair and the whole thing was very good.

But the driver was excellent and the car arrived in fine condition.

Hi, Dan. We know how frustrating it can be when the auto transport broker you hired doesn’t answer your phone calls. This happened to our company’s founder when he shipped a car. His bad experience is why we got into this business - to disrupt the auto transport industry by always putting our customers first. Our promise is to communicate, constantly and clearly, with you, our customer.. It’s wonderful to hear that you experienced this first hand when you shipped your car. I bought a classic 1950 Chevrolet Convertible from a gentleman in Pennsylvania. I couldn’t drive the car all the way across the country I was apprehensive about using a transport service for the first time. ConsumerAffairs had good reviews on Sherpa. I called the number that I found on the website and spoke to their rep. I had other quotes that were quite a little bit lower than Sherpa, and the rep explained to me that they are a broker and that they have to sell the load to a trucking company. So if I go way low, they will have trouble selling that load to a carrier and I’ll never get my car delivered. She knew what she was talking about. She also projected confidence and didn’t pull any punches. She then got the information out right away. It was on a weekend and by that Sunday, I had an email that the load had been sold to a transporter.
The transport called my wife 24 hours before and they also told her that they could deliver it a couple of days early. Then the driver was there when he said he was gonna be and he even pulled the car into my garage for my wife. He was very nice and totally professional. And the equipment they were driving looked really nice too. The transport took four days and it exceeded my expectations. They did a really good job. Also, the quote that was given to me was spot on. I went with an enclosed transport which was a little bit more expensive and the total cost is a lot of money for someone who works for a living all day long, but the car got to the house in perfect shape. I’ve saved their number and I’ll be using them again if another occasion arises.

I was moving and I looked around for transport companies. I did for about 10 minutes before I decided to go to Consumer Reports because it was insanity. And when I went to Consumer Reports, it was a slam dunk. Sherpa had a very high rating and their customer service was excellent. It proved out to be that both parties had to call and respond to each other so setting things up was definitely a joint effort. I also loved their quoting process. It was industry comparative and they were clear that it wasn’t going to climb. They also did everything they could to encourage a driver to take the deal and I felt comfortable that there wasn’t gonna be any negotiation because that wouldn’t have been comfortable for me.
There was some miscommunication about whether I was at the top of a list and maybe the employees didn't really chat with each other about certain customers such that they would all say the same thing. Communicating is a big deal and that will always be the case but it's also something that people get better at over time. Also, I didn't know if I was supposed to tip the driver. I had gone online to see if you're supposed to but it wasn’t clear. The website said not to because it's not required. But it was confusing. Sherpa told me they were including the gratuity but I didn’t know if the driver was getting a fair shake and if the $900 was his to keep. I wanted to know so that I can be fair to that person ‘cause what they're doing is hard work. The move was about 10+ hours and the driver was responsive. I'd use him again for sure.

Their quote was on the higher side though. Their competitors were giving a low quote, as much as $250 less. Nonetheless, I was able to reach out to Sherpa when I needed to and their representatives helped me out. They also gave me a heads up for the pickup. The driver couldn’t move his truck inside my apartment complex but I was able to meet him right outside. It was okay. The guys were friendly too. They were able to explain everything to me regarding the state of the car and they were good.

Thanks for a great review! We are able to get our customers’ cars delivered in accordance with their preferred timelines because we use real-time data to determine our pricing. That means that the quote we provide you is based on the pricing of similar recent shipments in your area. By using this process to determine cost we not only ensure that your car will get moved, but that the quote we provide is the actual amount you will pay for the transport. There are no hidden fees, no gotcha costs. Just data-driven quotes that we know will work.
While we happily provide door to door service, occasionally relocating the pickup to a larger area near your home is necessary so that your vehicle can be loaded safely onto the transportation truck.

If you want to entrust your vehicle in good hands, let Sherpa take care of it for you. I shipped a Subaru Impreza from Fredericksburg, Virginia to Twentynine Palms, California and on the ninth day, it arrived just like it was when I gave it to them. Most transport companies are brokers, including Sherpa, where they farm out the work and the ratings that I found said Sherpa was the best. They also gave me one of the best quotes out of the several I had gotten. I dealt with one lady almost all the time and it was very good working with her. And although the driver ended up charging more, Sherpa didn’t charge me anymore so they evidently gave up some of their percentage to pay that.

Hi David. It’s wonderful to hear you had such a positive experience shipping your car with Sherpa Auto Transport. We treat each car entrusted to our care as if it were our own. With this mentality at the forefront of our minds, we strive to make sure that every customer we have the privilege of working with feels comfortable, well-informed and happy throughout the auto transport process. In your case, because it cost a bit more than we initially quoted to incent a driver to take your transport, we subsidized your move by paying that incremental amount directly, rather than asking you to pay more. Thanks for the great review! We look forward to working together again in the future.

And although Sherpa was the most expensive, I decided to go with them because of their rep that was more knowledgeable than anybody else. I wanted it there on the 13th and everybody else told me I had to have it picked up by the 6th but she said I could have it picked up on the 11th and it will get there on the 13th. And that was what I wanted but I didn't think it was possible. She just seemed like she knew what she was talking about and so, I believed her and she was right. Also, their initial quote was accurate.
The driver didn't speak very good English. He had parked down the street but it was my first time living here and I didn't know exactly where it was. It caused back and forth and it took a lot longer than it would have if he could have just spoken in English. But he wasn't very far and I just didn't know that. Then the driver said he was gonna drive all night. He delivered the car to me in Virginia the next day on the 4th of July, which is a holiday. He was a little flaky in that they seemed to have a bill of lading but I trusted him and all seemed to work out fine. I paid 700 bucks which was exactly the same as the quote. Sherpa wasn't terribly reasonable, price-wise, but I was suspicious of the people who were charging so much less. The first time I looked into transporting a car, I had quotes as low as $300 but those were all Florida people and I wasn't willing to trust them.

Thank you for your understanding when your car was delivered on the July 4th holiday. We appreciate how this was not optimal, but are grateful for your flexibility and regret any inconvenience the timing may have caused you. It’s great you recognized that extremely low quotes aren’t always the most trustworthy. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we use real-time data to determine our pricing. Our goal isn’t to “sell” (or even worse “upsell” you), it’s to ship your car to your desired location using a high-quality driver at a price we know we will get the job done. We do this by providing our customers with a realistic quote from the get-go to match you with a trusted driver that can perform the transport for the price we quoted.

When I submitted a quote request to Sherpa online, a rep called me in less than 24 hours to obtain additional information and to explain their process for selecting the transporter, the cost, and the options available to me relative to the delivery point.
I received a confirmation that they had found the driver that met their criteria and they informed me on when my vehicle would be picked up and the estimated time of delivery. And I got an email talking about after they make a delivery, I can go to the car wash, send the receipt, and get reimbursement from the car wash. I sent my request for shipping and their reps called me back in an hour. In the very first call we had, I explained my situation and the server said that since I was making an emergency request, they had to charge me 120 bucks for a service fee. But I understood and that was fine because initially they provided the cheapest price among the transport companies I had talked to. The reps said that they were gonna arrange the whole transport and find a driver for me, and they'd call me as soon as possible. The transport was a little rushed since I only gave Sherpa 48 hours to do the transport and the reps said they would try their best. They made it so it was perfect.
The location put in was accurate, but the driver used a huge truck so he couldn't park and take the vehicle off my apartment. So, he found a plaza near to my place and we met there. They were good and the way they answered my questions made me feel comfortable. The rep's knowledge and expertise on the service they offered were very good and these were enough for me to wanna pay $1300 for the service. Sherpa was $200 more expensive than other transport companies, but they told me how the process works when they bid, so I understood a lot of things that made me be okay with their price.
The driver who picked up my car and the one who delivered it were nice. I got multiple calls from them and their time estimation for arrival was accurate. I was assuming that the driver would drop my car off in front of my house, but I learned that was not so when I asked why the day of the pickup was a day before, making sure I would be in a certain spot at the time. I didn’t know beforehand what to expect and that on the tail-end I would have to go to a supermarket or an open sale, but once again they explained the reason to me and now I understand what was going on. But they could have communicated that to me in the beginning so I would have known more on what to expect. The driver picked my car up on Wednesday afternoon and I got it on Monday by lunchtime. I thought the transport was gonna take at least a week, or at least till the next weekend, and I didn’t know that I'd have a car by the time I started work on Monday.
