It had snowed a few inches and my wife was driving home from work. As she approached the slope leading to our house, the car started to slip. The car is rear wheel drive with a feature called traction control. Anyway, the feature kicked in and brought the car to a standstill. The car was not able to climb the hill. My wife backed it up to the bottom of the hill and tried again, this time at a higher speed. Well, it slipped all the way up and made it to the garage. Next morning as she was backing the car, there was transmission oil all over the garage floor.

When she climbed that hill, a ring that connects the hose must have burst and the oil started leaking out. The car is a 2005 c240 with 23k on it, in mint condition. I ended up paying $600 to get the problem fixed. They would not cover the cost. They told me it was a common problem and they have new improved o rings to replace the one o ring that was there before. After that, I decided I would never buy another Mercedes and have been encouraging others to stay away from the product as well. There is no way somebody should pay 45k for a car that can't climb a small slope in the winter time. My 1990 Chevy never had a problem and I had 180k on that thing. It was also rear wheel drive and I paid 12k for that.

When I went to crank the car the passenger air bag deployed. We have a 1995 Mercedes E320 wagon. It was known and recalled for this issue. Mercedes told me that my specific VIN was not one of the recalls. I have the same 10 numbers and letters but the ending of my VIN is a little different than the ones recalled. But the same issue happened. The air bag exploded into my face and stomach. It sounded like a loud shotgun. I couldn't hear anything but ringing for hours and couldn't see good and couldn't breathe good for a couple days. I felt as if I had asthma.

I have filed complaints with everything and waiting on reports to come. Mercedes, without even looking at my car has not offered to repair the damage due to malfunction even though its all over the internet and its happened to many, many people with the same model and style of Mercedes. I am having to wait to get reports and see what kind of conclusion has worked out with the Attorney General and other NHTSA and also Better Trade Corp.

This car was not even cranked, the key was just turned and, "Bam!", it exploded into me. Anyone would know that's a malfunction. You would think they would be happy to take care of this to keep you from putting this out there for everyone to know. But no, they are doing it the hard way. So, we will take every step we need to, to have Mercedes take responsibility and take care of this matter to repair.

We have no car to drive. They are not willing to accept and repair but warn me not to drive it because it could happen to the air bag in the steering wheel and cause fatality while driving. So where do you go with this? Warn me of bad things to happen but not offer to repair it knowing it's Mercedes' responsibility? It's kind of weird.

I leased a 2008 Mercedes Benz, and at the end of my lease, I decided to purchase the vehicle. I sent in a check with a downpayment and the first month payment ($3700.00). The check was cashed by Mercedes on 4/9/2010. On 4/18, I was woken up at 2am by two scary men at my door asking me for my car key because they were repossessing my car. They had already dragged my car onto a flat bed. My 10-month-old and 5-year-old son, along with my neighbors, were woken up by all the noise. I knew this had to be a mistake, but the repo men could care less. They were just "doing their job."

I started calling Mercedes Benz Financial at 9am the following day. The only answer that I got out of the numerous customer service reps there was that they made a mistake and that my payment must have been credited to someone else's account. I even faxed and emailed them a front and back copy of the cashed check at 9am!

I tried to speak to the manager or supervisor at least 4 times, and they were "unavailable" or "in a meeting." Finally at 6pm, I got a phone call from the repo company saying that they will be returning the car sometime that evening. They came knocking at my door at 1AM! So I finally got my car back. Next morning, I noticed that the whole bottom of my car is scratched and one of my fog lights is broken. I called Mercedes again. They told me that there's nothing they can do and that I have to take it up with the repo company.

I bought a Mercedes-Benz C200 Sports Coupe in 09/2003 for over 40.000 euros including extras. Among the extras, I paid for electrical side mirrors. Some months ago the left mirror wiring was cut. I contacted the local agent and after some discussion and pressure, they fixed it cost-free. They told me that the reason it happened was because of opening and closing the mirror for which I have paid extra and also because the wiring is very thin. Now the same has occurred to the right mirror.

To change the mirror it costs about 500euros. I tried to contact the official agent in Greece (Mercedes-Hellas) and I got no answer. They are very unfriendly when you try to pass your problem. The thing is that Mercedes is a myth and nothing more. To my belief the quality is so cheap and not worth the money you spend. Thanks again and I hope to receive an official answer.

I purchased a new 1998 C230 Mercedes Benz and planned to keep it for the rest of my life because they were suppose to be good, dependable cars. Well, I have had regular service done on this car since I purchased it and have take very good care of it. It only has 105,000 miles on it. My radio went out on it years ago and my seats stopped working and have had to take it in for several repairs over the years. I am 76 years old and did not plan on making car payments at this age, but now they tell me that the transmission is gone, the front ball joints gone, the seats have to have parts ordered for them and the tail lights have something wrong and causing melting of the covers.

They said it was time to decide about getting something else or putting more money into this one. I have no retirement and only draw Social Security and have no room for car payments but they said it would be $5,000.00 to repair this one and that is with a reconditioned transmission. Is there any recourse for me or am I just stuck with using what little money I have saved and still have a lemon and still no radio because that would run it up even more. Thank you for any help you can give me. I am single with no retirement. Have worked in a flower shop for 50+ yrs. Have very little money saved and am living on my social security. This will take what I have saved. Shouldn't I have been able to get more than a 100,000 miles from these very expensive cars that are suppose to be so good? This has put a really bad hardship on me.

Bought a new 2010 E350, had 2 flat tires in 6 weeks, tires continually losing air, and continuing to put air in tires. Now the front passenger seat is broken. They broke it when brought in for a car wash, are supposedly going to repair in 3 weeks or so. Brought the car in numerous times for the air sensor going off red on the tires prior to flat tires. Have had to take off work to have the car looked at. Also paid out of pocket for my own AAA, Mercedes would not respond to road side. I was stranded 2 different times. Had to leave the car 2 times for the tires to be ordered. There are complaints all over the internet in regards to these tires and wheels on the E350 dating back for years.

So many things went wrong with this car, which has only 50,000 miles. I have already changed the passenger side door. The passenger seat motor has been replaced for more than $1,000. 4 suspension springs have been changed for more than $1,000. 4 light bulbs are failing all the time. Now, I am having issues with the steering wheel. The last service agent (Carl) was arrogant and rude. I will never buy this car again. I have spent more than $10,000. I also own a Lexus E300-1996 model, and has had no problems at all, except normal wear and tear. This has now more than 100,000 miles. The physical damage is that I have been to the dealer, for more than 40 times.

I purchased a Mercedes Benz ML 350 from the Mercedes Benz of Ann Arbor in November 2009. I asked questions before, during and after test driving the vehicle. I discovered the answers given to me by the saleswoman were not factual. As I asked questions about the vehicle options and equipment, she answered the questions without checking or taking the time to see if she was indeed providing me with the accurate information. Simple things like if the rear side windows opened or not. She said they didn't when they actually do. I asked her about the CD based navigational system and she said oh it's great and works well.

Within days of purchasing the vehicle, I discovered the GPS system did not work. I returned to the dealer during the first week of December to have it inspected. I was told that the disc was scratched and that they would replace it. The sales manager told me that he would order the disc and that I could expect it in approximately one week. I returned to the dealership four times over the course of two months only to be told that he attempted to order the disc from corporate and they didn't have any.

Additionally, the sales manager said that I had to wait until a vehicle like mine came in for service so that they could copy the disc to replace the disc in my vehicle. I then felt that the sales manager was insulting my intelligence if he really wanted me to believe the information he had given me. I contacted Mercedes Benz corporate headquarters to alert them of this unpleasant experience. Within a few days of the call to corporate, I had a new disc, not copied but a new one. Moving forward Mercedes Benz of Ann Arbor had a free 23 point inspection with a complimentary interior & exterior carwash. I took my truck in for the event. After the inspection, I was told it would be ready as soon as they were done washing it.

After getting into the vehicle, I discovered that there was no interior or exterior service performed. So with that being the case, how I am to know that a 23 point inspection was really completed? Not to sound like it's the end of the world but if you say you’re going to do something, just do it. When I think of Mercedes Benz, I'm reminded of prestige, quality & class. One would think that when it comes to customer service, Mercedes Benz of Ann Arbor would serve at the pleasure of its customers being a leading example to other car companies showing them how it should be done. In the end, if their customer service is not extraordinary, they are no different than a company that is ordinary which makes them the same.

I bought a brand new 2005 Mercedes Benz C230. On 03/12/2010, I was driving down highway 380 at US101 in the afternoon. I was not speeding or driving in any way that would be considered anything but normal. I suddenly lost control of my vehicle. The steering wheel was no longer responsive to my input and the vehicle went into the a complete slide. In the next 10 seconds, the steering wheel jolted to the right and hit the highway retaining wall. The car impacted the retaining wall on the side of the road with such force I thought that I was going to die. The steering wheel suddenly and violently rotated and hit my hand and wrist so bad that I received severe lacerations. I also almost broke wrist. My car front end was totally damaged beyond repair. It was such a night mare. I am scared to death to drive another C230. Something is definitely wrong with this car. I am lucky to have survived such an ordeal.

This has happened several times on various road conditions. Many times when I drove the vehicle, the transmission slipped very hard and I would loss traction. The transmission slips very hard indicating that this power train definitely has problems. It also seems that the power steering on the vehicle does not operate correctly. My steering wheel was very very hard to turn feeling like it had no mechanical assistance at all. This made it extremely hard to maneuver the vehicle around a turn.

I almost died yesterday. I now know that I could lose my life in 10 seconds and I feel it is because of the faulty components used on the C230! I do not feel this car is safe. I am seeking legal right to protect my consumer rights to a safe car and to protect my life safety. If anybody wants to help, please let me know. The car is totally destroyed and not worth fixing. Even if the car was in a condition that was worth repairing, I would not do it because I am far too frightened to drive such a dangerous and out of control vehicle.

I brought a used MB clk 320 2003 in which I paid $30,000 for and when I left a week later, it was making a noise in the front on the drive's side which I was told that it had something to do with the brakes. They kept my car for approximately 3 weeks, in which they gave me a loaner to compensate until it was fixed. I have taken my car back to them five times since and they kept tell me that they fixed the problem. But as of today, the problem still exist.

Before I took it back in Dec, I took my car to get new tire and was told that the barrens on the right side were no good so they didn't give me a wheel alignment and stated that the noise I was hearing was that. So I called up MB and made a service appointment and stated what was told to me. The service advisory stated to me that my car was still under warranty so they took it and kept it for 21 days. I still have the same noise. I just would like someone to help me with this issue. I feel like they are not fixing properly waiting for the warranty to expire so they can try to get more money out of me! Please help me with this issue. Thanking you in advance.

I bought the "best car of my dreams", a 2004 C240 Mercedes-Benz. It is the most expensive car I've ever purchased and it is the car of my nightmares. In 2 years, I've had over 22 repairs (rockers, gas tank cap, door indicator, roof leak, computer data system, cracked wood trim, door handle fell off). Every time I get in the car, I wonder what will go wrong next. I do not trust the car for travel. It is the worst car I've ever owned and by comparison, I have a 92 190e so I know at one time Mercedes created a great car. Now I have no faith in Mercedes and to top it all off, the little package was supposedly everything we would need to change the tire. Nowhere in the neat little package were there additional "special" lug nuts that were supposed to be used with the spare tire.

I bought 2009 E350 and it has 3000 miles on it. When my wife was driving the vehicle, the wheel rim suddenly burst and lost air. I checked the tire and saw that it was not damaged from outside or didn't see any stress where rim was damaged. I believe that this is bad quality of AMG wheel, however, Dealers are not ready to accept.

Why MB always ask you to buy a Wheel and Tire warranty for AMG wheels? I have seen several post where people has described about the chip or crack in the wheel. They always deny warranty with outside force including pot holes. How many pot holes are in this country on the road and have you faced any rim damage by pot holes on a vehicle?

I am an IT person and this is simple logic that AMG low profile wheel are not designed properly to handle the impact of small outside force. We are paying a lot for a vehicle that prioritizes safety of family members. But if this happens while you drive, your family could get hurt. I have filed a complaint in NHTSA. I wanted to hear about your opinion or if you have faced this kind of issue in the past.

To my dismay, out all the air bags that this vehicle is equipped with, not one, I repeat not one deployed in which to provide safety or protection of my passenger or myself. I have been told that I wasn't traveling at enough speed for them to deploy which is insane. This accident could have been fatal. The following are clearly design or manufacturing defects and should be fixed by the Benz company under warranty. Besides the following pointed out by the Benz dealer in one of their inspections, the car has had and still has intermittent electronic problems, particularly the ones with the dashboard console. The radio will stop working momentarily when the car sometimes goes under concrete bridges. The car has to be stopped and restarted to fix it. This is just one of the issues. The following is what I sent to them in writing, sent through the survey from Benz on December 2, 2009:

"The dealer pointed out certain stuff that failed the inspection and this makes me very nervous about the quality of this car, which has only 48650 miles and it already has these major issues come up. We maintain this car in an immaculate condition and drive it very carefully. I cannot understand the dealer suggesting a change for replacing lower ball joints L2.3 and replacing rear main seal. I do not expect a car like this to have developed these issues so early when it is maintained so perfectly. I would like the Benz company to fix these problems as warranty issues. I know you will tell me that this is a 2003 model but that does not change the fact that this cannot and should not happen to vehicle of this nature at less than 50K miles. If the factory does not fix these problems ASAP, I will be terribly disappointed and disillusioned with the quality of this brand."

Please help! I purchased a 2003 C230 in April 2008, with 51,000 miles on it. I have experienced many mechanical issues with the vehicle, since taking ownership. The vehicle has been in the shop numerous times. Right now, the vehicle is at Mercedes of Bridgewater, NJ, and needs 4 new parts, due to what I have been told as a known common problem to Mercedes. The repairs are set to cost me over $7,000. The car is only worth around $12,000, and only has 82,000 miles.

The transmission and 3 other parts must be replaced, due to what I would call a defect in the design of the vehicle. Apparently a crack in the radiator will cause the coolant fluid to leak into the torque converter/trans, which has ruined the transmission. I feel that Mercedes should be liable for not recalling this issue. I am not financially well off. I purchased the car to commute to work to save gas and money (it has not worked out). I am at the mercy of fixing the car, since either way, I will be out thousands of dollars. Please, please help me.

I purchased a 2006 C-230 sport which is a pre-owned vehicle. The car has been well maintained, and has never been in an accident, or altered in any manner. Recently, the car just turned 50,000 miles, putting the car out of warranty by 147 miles, when the power steering pump went. Upon further review, the power steering pump failed due to a faulty hose installed by Mercedes Benz at the factory. The failure of this hose resulted in the plastic inner liner coming apart, and a piece of the plastic being forced into the rack and pinion steering of the car. This piece of plastic blocked the flow of power steering fluid to the car, causing the failure of not only the hose, but the power steering pump as well.

The financial damages to the car were in excess of $1,825.00 in repair costs. The dealership suggested I contact customer care for further assistance, and warranty coverage due to the failure of the hose causing such further damage. The dealership, I would add has more than 150 years of combined experience, and has never witnessed a failure of this nature in their years of business. It was the feeling of the dealership, that Mercedes Benz should cover the cost of repair as a result. After contacting customer care at Mercedes Benz, the runaround began. I was told they would look into the matter further, then only to be pushed off for another day.

I was then told the claim was denied, because the fluid found to be in the car, was not power steering fluid, but rather brake fluid. This was an unsupported argument for I still have the remaining portion of the fluid added to the car, which was in fact power steering fluid.

I further supported this by presenting a copy of the receipt time stamped and dated with the product clearly listed at time of purchase, to disprove their basis for the denial of the claim. Mercedes Benz became very angry when this information was presented there by removing any valid basis for their denial to the claim. I further asked that regardless of the warranty period passing, they, as a company, have an obligation to provide a product that is safe and suitable for long term use, and operation. In talking with the dealership, it was further discovered that the claims representative never saw the car, or the parts that failed, but rather was more interested in the fact that I declined to have further work performed on the car, at the time of service.

The power steering failure happened a result of faulty product built by, and installed by Mercedes Benz. The fact remains that they do build a good car, but the service provided by customer care is poor at best. The failure of the steering system happened in a "static condition", whereby the car was sitting in a driveway, and when started, the failure occurred. The situation could have been much worse, where the vehicle could have been under operation at highway speeds, and the failure would have caused loos to property, or worse, resulting in a catastrophic loss of life.

My experience with the car has been a great one, until I have had to deal with the rude, and rather "robotic" type thinking of the people in customer care. I intend to cover the cost out of pocket, at which time, I will retain the removed parts as my property. I plan to send the removed parts for testing, and if found to be faulty, feel very confident I can find 7 out of 12 to see the negligence on Mercedes Benz's part. I was not asking for the deed to the dealership here, and offered to cover the labor costs, and requested Mercedes Benz to cover the parts involved. To their credit, they can't even keep their lies straight. From one call to another, each story was different from the previous, which is surprising, because every time you call them, they inform you the call is being recorded for "training purposes". I would like to find someone to take this on. I mean really think about it, if someone can smoke all their life, and as a result end up with cancer, and sue the tobacco companies and win, I most certainly can beat these guys, and to think this could have been resolved for less than half of the original bill.

The damage include $1,825.00 worth of repair bills, as a result of the part failure. The potential for further damages could have been the loss of my 19 year old's life, had he been driving the car, when the failure occurred.

My 1998 Mercedes ML320 check engine light came on and started shutting down on me. The diagnostic, performed by a mechanic in San Bernardino county where the car broke down, said that 3 cylinders were malfunctioning and I replaced the spark plugs and wires but it did not help. I then changed 3 of the 6 distributors; this did not help either. I had the car towed back to Los Angeles where I live and took the car to Sopp’s Service Center. They told me that the head gasket blew and there was water mixed with the oil. The mechanic said they could replace the head gasket and flush the oil and put new oil in it but that they will not guarantee the work and it would cost $1300.00 or they could replace the engine for $2000.00 and guarantee the work for 3000 miles or 3 months. So for the guarantee, I had the engine replaced. When I picked up the car, I paid and left for home, which was less than 1 mile away. Before I got home, the same exact problem happened again and the check engine light came on, so I slowly drove it right back to the mechanic.

3 days later, I called them to find out what was going on with my car as they had not called me. They then told me that my Catalytic Converter on the driver side was bad and needed to be replaced for a cost of $350, but they would take 50% off and charge me only $175. I went into the shop and they agreed to replace the catalytic converter for $125. I agreed and they replaced the part. Another 3 days went by with no call, so I called them and went and picked up the car. I drove the car about 60 miles the next day when the car started to not switch gears, not get into first, and the check engine light came on. I parked and turned the car off. After some time I tried to start the car and it would not turn over, all lights came on but it wouldn't start. I had to get a ride home from Santa Monica.

The next morning I went to the car to see if hopefully it could be started, so I could drive it back to the mechanic. The car started, I reversed out of my parking spot, put the car in drive and nothing happened, the car would not go forward. So I had the car towed again to the mechanic. 3 days later, I again had to call him. The mechanic then told me that my transmission was bad and needed to be replaced. I was outraged; the transmission was fine when I took the car in the very first time. The transmission was never the issue. Every time I took it in, something else was wrong with it and all these parts just so happened to go bad within minutes or a few hours of leaving their shop. I find this hard to believe considering I have owned the car for 10 years, took good care of the car, and have never had this many problems with the car this quickly in such a very short period of time.

I had first brought it to Green Lane for routine service and as I was driving on the highway, it started to shake and the check engine light came on. I brought it in again ... while the check engine light did not come on again, a new problem occurred.

My car would occasionally shake vigorously upon starting it for the first time. I brought it in again and they tried to foot me with a $1500 bill to "fix" - what was later found out not to be necessary - their mistake. I asked myself, why am I paying for a mistake caused by these technicians? After threatening litigation, that $1500 bill disappeared. Yet I was still stuck with the problem. As a living person in this world, I work 7 days a week and do not have time to go in to have my car serviced. When I do so, I don't even get a rental (probably because of my pre-owned status).

Needless to say, Green Lane was off my list, so I decided to go to the Service facility at the Thornhill dealership to try and get better service. I never had a problem (other than this mysterious shaking of my car, which was now every time I started my car). I made an appointment for Service A as I was instructed to do by my car. While waiting for my vehicle, the Service Tech brought me out a random car part and told me that this was why my check engine light was coming on and that this hose had lack of air/oxygen and that it needed to be replaced.

I was like, "Huh? Do you have the right car?!? (mind you, I had not had an issue since the first time regarding the check engine light)" and he proceeded, "Yes, and we have replaced it for you." Mind you, I wasn't asked about this. The part was already replaced and, of course, who do you think has to pay for it? Not MB. The hose was $54 on top of the $300 Service A performed.

We drove home (my mother was driving) and everything was fine, until I went to go to work the next day ... I noticed (and I notice everything on this car, believe me) a dent in the driver door speaker grill. I proceeded the leave a message for the service manager detailing the problem (which I later found out was going to come back to bite me) and as it was a Sunday, the dealership was closed. I requested I get called back asap. The next day, I did not receive a call and had to call them back. I spoke to the service manager who told me, "My guys would never do such a thing," and I told him, "Well, I didn't do it, so who will fix it?"

He told me nothing really. I told him that I would come in to show him and went in before work. When I got there, I didn't even speak to the man, as he was with another customer. I spoke to the original tech from the Saturday and the first thing he asked me was, "Did the check engine light come on?" I was like, "What?! I'm here for a separate issue altogether, did your manager not speak to you?" This was when I got irritated and a little pissed off after explaining again what happened to my speaker grill. He told me this; "That damage was there already and has been for a while. It's caused by the belt getting stuck in the door." I asked to see the work order which was written in pen. It reads "Interior: okay," which is seen to be crossed out and a new note is put in reading "driver door speaker grill dented." I looked at the person I was with and said, "This is not right."

As you can guess, I had given them plenty of time to manufacture the original work order (my mistake). He then told me that when I brought the car in, it was dirty, ha! Everyone knows that my car is clean and that has nothing to do with the exterior as it had been sitting there for 10 days due to me being out of town, another reason why I could not have caused the damage to the grill. I was made to come in for what? The service manager didn't even speak with me, nor did anyone look at the grill. I left, planning to pursue further action. I then went to get an estimate on the grill at a local auto body and found out the part cost a measly $30 which, in my opinion, MB should have fixed.

Here's the kicker. The next day I went to work as usual and at the end of the day, I went to start my car (the car shook as usual) and this usually stops as it runs. However every time I was stopped, the car would still shake as if it was about to cut out on me. I prayed the entire way home that I make it. When I got home, I popped the hood and found that the engine was shaking vigorously and that a sort of steam was emitting from it. I was so angry I couldn't even call the dealership myself, a sibling had to do so. The receptionist informed my sibling that everyone went home from the Service Dept (an hour before it's scheduled to close) and my sibling ended the conversation with, "We will be bringing in the car tomorrow."

So for those keeping track, I will be going in there for the third time! As I started the car the next day, the car was still shaking and the check engine light had come on (by Jove, that tech must have be psychic)! As I was making my way to the dealership, my car was struggling and shaking embarrassingly the whole way there. As I was one intersection away from turning into the dealership, my car stalled as I was making my left turn, in the intersection. That was unsafe!

I went in to speak with the tech from Saturday and what did I get? Attitude! Anyone would have guessed I was in a Hyundai dealership not Mercedes Benz. I then went to speak directly with the service manager and I got more attitude. I got told that the service done on the vehicle the previous Saturday was incomplete and that it would have to be completed at a later time. At no time was I told that a half job was done that Saturday. This in my opinion, concluded that when I left that day, my car was unsafe.

As I spoke to the service manager, he told me he had to investigate the check engine light and the cracked speaker. I showed him the speaker and got accused again that I caused it to crack. The service manager tried to demonstrate how that happened and failed to do so, as the belt buckle rolled right up and did not get caught in the door. If a customer can cause this, so can one of their technicians and with that, the manager offered to have the speaker fixed at no charge. However, the problem with the vehicle would require me to leave the car there indefinitely.

Mind you. it was Dec. 23, the next day being Xmas Eve, the dealership was only half staffed. The manager told me he would be leaving at 5 pm that day and would not be back until after the New Year! What do I do now?! No one would work on my car until after Christmas, the following Tuesday. That meant I would be out of a car for 6 days, and I was told I could not get a rental (btw, even Honda offers complimentary rental service if service or repairs run over the scheduled period). I was told that any problems that resulted after looking at the car would be at the owner's expense. Mind you, the first service facility did not fix their mistake and now a new problem occurred. What do I do now?!

When I'm at work, I got a call from the service manager telling me to authorize a diagnostic, and two hours of labor that would cost $255 plus tax and then probably even more once they figure out the problem. Why should I have to pay for that? I was told by the manager that the check engine light could come on for a variety of reasons and they wouldn't know until they diagnosed it. I was later told that the manager performed a mini-diagnostic and found that the cam shaft was causing the shaking. Looking into the past work history, the manager said that Green Lane quoted me a price on it and that I didn't get it fixed. Why in the world would I not get that fixed if I was told that was the problem in the first place?! Like seriously, why did it take over $2000 to fix that problem and yet a year later, here we are. The problem is not fixed and a random hose was replaced that I know caused that check engine light to come on.

I love my car and it ran fine until I brought it to these less than qualified individuals. I feel that I am being segregated because I bought this car pre-owned which regardless of the fact, I still bought a Benz and no matter what, I'm a customer and I bought a Benz and MB should stand by their product and not try to squeeze every dime out of its customers.

What happened to the customer is always right? Other customers and I expect to have someone like Mercedes Benz to stand by their name/product. Even Walmart has a better policy than Mercedes Benz!

I own a GL450 2007 model. My wife took the vehicle in because she smelled something burning. Turns out it is the driver seat. The seat had a burn mark that had burned all the way through the leather. The service lady came in and checked my wife to see if she had been burned. She was not burned, thank God. However, they played it off and said they called Mercedes-Benz and they were going to pay one third (Mercedes was going to pay one third) and that they would only charge me one third to get the seat replaced. I told them no and called Mercedes myself.

Today, the service department called and said that I would not be responsible for anything (go figure) and that the seat would be replaced. However, I had asked that they replace the passenger seat as well due to the fact that those same parts were in the passenger seat as well and given the fact that the leather would not match the other seat (because one is new and the other worn). She told me that the part numbers were different in the passenger seat and that they had not had any problems out of the passenger seats before. I asked her if they had had problems with the driver seats before and she said yes, that there was one brought in before me on the same morning. My question is, am I right to ask for the other seat to be replaced? Thanks.

Mercedes Benz and McConnel Automotive have made me pay for a vehicle prior to the subject vehicle arrival. The vehicle, when it was delivered to the dealership, was damaged and had more miles than that reported by Mercedes Benz; and failed to provide a clean and marketable title for nearly three years. The vehicle was not processed by the dealership and therefore the dealership refused a full refund. The dealership and Mercedes Benz filled out paperwork for title and registration, without having nor physically examining the vehicle (required by law in the State of Alabama). Mercedes Benz Financial also fraudulently created a bill of sale stating McConnell Automotive (Mercedes Benz dealership) as the leasee of the vehicle when in fact, the subject vehicle was leased by Century Design in Doylestown, PA.

The vehicle has been sitting for nearly three years untitled, unregistered and therefore loss of use. Mercedes Benz financial is still requiring full payment for the vehicle even in the setting of a bonafide dispute.

While driving on the freeway at 65 miles, one of the tires let the air out because of the dent in the rim, and blew off. He, luckily, controlled the G500 from rolling over since it is top-heavy. But he was pretty shaken up. He didn't know where he was, and luckily the Tele-Aid emergency road service person was able to calm him down. I'm buying the lifetime service of $1,500.00 so that I don't have to keep paying $350.00 per year! Thank goodness since they were able to know exactly where the location was. He learned that you need to avoid potholes and not to speed over bumps in the road, to avoid having the air-gap in the tires with these designer-type rims.

I am filing this complaint on behalf of my parents. They have challenges with the English language. They leased then purchased a 2006 MB E350 from MB of South Bay in 2005. It was my mom's dream to one day own a MB her whole life. But about a year ago, her dreams started coming to a crashing end when she started having major issues with the vehicle. The car has been in two different dealership locations for over 30 times during the past year, MB in Van Nuys and Cal Star in Glendale. The technicians and management staff have been unable to fix the power steering problem on this car for over one year. She is having a mental and physical meltdown because of the amount of times she has been going to these two dealerships and being ignored and laughed at (because of her language barrier!) by their staff. The warranty on the vehicle will expire in about 400 miles and now she's being forced to purchase an extended warranty for $3000 on a car that doesn't operate at all!

The dealerships keep calling her back to pick up her car without fixing it. And at one time, the car had over 230 miles on it while it was at the dealership for only two days. They claimed that they test drove the vehicle, but for 230 miles? We now know that the dealership employees want to make sure her warranty expires so she can either purchase the extended warranty after overhearing a conversation between two employees! This is completely unacceptable. The management at either location has been rude and unhelpful. I think MB should think about who they authorize to sell and represent their product because these two dealers are not good representation for MB.

We are planning to file a lawsuit if no action is taken by corporate MB in response to this complaint. As a news reporter for the Armenian channel in Southern California, my mom will take a camera crew to interview and record the responses from dealership staff regarding lack of customer service at MB these locations. Here are a few names of people that we have dealt with: Dwaine (supposedly in charge of our vehicle issue specifically) and Persian guy the manager (very rude and unprofessional) at the Van Nuys location and Emilio and Kelvin (the unknowledgeable technicians) at the Glendale location.

Maddening Mercedes - After 10 wonderful years with a BMW 528, a terrific car in any respect, I fell on a Mercedes E 320 SW. The car looks superb, has any possible optional, any possible electronic gimmick, well, electronics. Let's forget fuel consumption which is 40% higher than my previous BMW for sloppier performance, forget that. The electronic gimmicks are a nightmare. Have you ever seen a car with an instruction manual of more than 600 pages? Well, you may say, for such a complex artifact, it's normal. All products today have thick users' manuals. I would argue on the 600 pages.

Apart from that, any product you may buy does not require reading much instructions, from PC to mobile phones to digital cameras, etc. We deal with complex electronics day and night. Starting and operating any new device is usually very intuitive. You read instructions only to deepen a few advanced features. With my Mercedes, it's the other way around. Two main features that exacerbate me: a) no control is intuitive as it should be, it's the Mercedes way, not consumers way things work on a Mercedes; b) the car arrogates to replace human decision-making privileges, so that you never really understand what's happening, why certain functions are inhibited, why certain controls are automatically inserted or disconnected.

Did it ever happen to you that two little babies remain trapped in the car because it (the car) has decided to protect them? Did it ever happen to you that you can't park the car in an automatic car park because it does not allow you to leave the gear box in the neutral position? Or to find the battery gone (I had to call the breakdown truck twice in a year) because when you parked the car the evening before, it decided that something was wrong and did not shut off the bloody equipment as you intended to do? You may think I am a technology illiterate. Well, I am an aerospace engineer. I could go into many more details which were pissed off by the Mercedes engineers, but I think you got the idea. Don't buy a Mercedes.

This is a very uncivilized and unprofessional manner that Mercedes has. This is not the first time it happened to me. Not to mention that whenever I took my car for fixing at a Mercedes garage, some other mishap takes place in the car. I think having the name Mercedes is not enough for your company to be good. Your dependence on royal people to own your car and not take care of other customers will make Mercedes' reputation tarnish especially if a letter about the service is published in the newspapers.

On 06/26/2009, our car broke down. It happened when my wife was returning home with our child and stopped in the driveway in front of the gate. She had difficulties opening the gate, so she decided to bring the car closer in order to get a better signal; but it still didn't work. Then, she decided to reverse and drive the car from a different angle. To her shock, after she put the car into reverse position, instead of going backward, it went forward pushing the gate. After that, she tried to do everything for the car to stop going forward (pressing the brakes, pressing the neutral and parking positions, trying reverse again), but the car would still go forward. The only time the car would stop going forward was when the ignition was turned off and the clutch of the parking brake was pushed.

Some neighbors and my self came to see what happened and tried to help, but no one could do anything. The car was unmovable. Our car is under full warranty, so we called Mercedes-Benz road side assistance. They sent their tow truck and towed our car to the nearest Mercedes dealership (which is Keyes European Mercedes-Benz in Van Nuys, CA) for inspection. When their driver came, he also saw that the car was unmovable. The car was in service for 5 days, and on 07/01/2009, they called and said that they could not find any problem with the car and we could come and pick it up. To our surprise, they charged us $175 for the tow truck service.

My first question is "Why, if there was nothing wrong with car, would everyone involved including the driver let the car be towed?" At the time, we all felt it was too dangerous to drive the car, especially with a small child, and felt lucky this happened in front of the house and not on a busy road. Secondly, the service company did not inform us about the possible charge and the actual price beforehand. Could you please advise us on what we should do in this situation? Many thanks.

I am writing this mail to bring certain issues to your notice. I had purchased a Mercedes C-180 in November 2006 from Gargash Enterprises Used Cars unit. At that time, this car had done about 55,000 km, and I was told that it is single owner-driven, has an accident-free history, and has a 100% service history with Gargash as well.

I had also taken a 2-year extended warranty at that point. At this point, the salesman involved was one Mr. Jay. Post the purchase in the past 2 years and 9 months, I have clocked less than 25,000 km and all servicing/repairs have been carried out at Gargash alone. This history is available with them. There has not been a single accident that the car has been involved in, major or minor, which can be verified with the insurance company / RTA / any other authority in Dubai. Further, the car has been sparingly used and well-maintained.

Recently, the car gave a couple of problems; and I had taken it to Gargash for check up and repair. At this point, I met the senior service advisor, Mr. Sanjay, who checked the car and told me that he would get back with the problems/estimate for repairs. I had left the car on July 14, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. At that point, after a brief review, Mr. Sanjay gave me a work sheet mentioning 3 things:

    1) Problem with air conditioner: For the air conditioner, gas was to be filled; and hence, it would cost around AED 250. I had though confirmed that there was a leakage as the cooling was not low but non-existent. Although he said that post this check, the refill after the repair was carried out and would be free (though the estimate that I have received today also has an added cost of AED 450 for refrigerant, which I assume is the gas). 2) Car does not start: AED 350 was the cost of diagnosing. And 3) Car starts and stops: AED 350 was the cost of diagnosing

I asked him to explain the logic for separately checking points 2 and 3 post, for which I was given a reprint of the work sheet with points 2 and 3 being clubbed and I have to pay approximately AED 600 only for diagnostics, which is fine. I received a complete estimate of the work required to be done today, which is July 20, 2009, once by fax and once by mail. The mail was sent later, and the figures in both the attachments varied a bit. And the approximate amount is AED 22,000.

I would also like to know as to how these figures were different. They were sent within 2 hours of each other, and I have not requested for any discount yet. Further, the composition of both of them is also slightly different. This is also one of the additional points, which make one feel that there might be no genuine need of repair required.

Considering all of the above (car being manufactured by Mercedes, sold and resold by Gargash, servicing / repairs only done by Gargash, no accident history), there are only the following three possibilities:

    1) Cars / parts used in the car are substandard. (The only reason one buys a Mercedes-Benz and pays a premium for it is because of the quality. In such scenarios, I feel that this car is probably of a much lower standard as compared to many other cheaper cars.) 2) There's an issue at Gargash's end with regards to refurbishing /servicing /repairing. (As I am sure, parts / car manufactured by Mercedes and built to last longer than 2-3 years and such multiple issues are not expected at such frequency.)

    3) Customer is being misled (by the dealer/workshop, etc., as there was only one dealer and no competition existed), as we have no clue as to what repair was needed or what the issue was with the car. And we were completely at your mercy, and this feeling was further strengthened, when I see 2 different quotes within a span of 2 hours. And when every time the car goes for servicing, critical parts like brake shoes, etc. always need a change. This is something nobody can refuse to.

These problems are not being faced by me alone. I can get at least 4-5 of my friends/colleagues who face exactly similar problems, and I am sure if such issues are highlighted, there will be 100s of others who would agree. The problem is that nobody has been complaining, and I will not hesitate to be the first one to do so. I was willing to do a trade-in of this car with a different Mercedes used car, but I am scared to do it now, as the other car might also turn out to be similar or at least maintaining it might be as difficult as I would still need to deal with Gargash.

One of my colleagues, who was planning to buy a Mercedes, has already dropped the idea post this episode; and I am sure Mr. ** from Used Car division would agree to this, as we had met him for trade-in of my car and purchase of a new one for my colleague. I had purchased a Mercedes and paid a premium for it initially to get better driving and personal experience/service. But over the years, I have been really disappointed, considering the frequent issues, maintenance, etc. I feel my colleagues/friends, who bought Audis/BMWs or even Honda/Mitsubishi for that matter, are much better off.

All this while, I have taken my car to Gargash for any servicing/repair just to make sure that the history is clean and to have a better resale value. But now, I realized that it was a completely wrong decision, as I have to pay 30-40% of the car's initial purchase value (50% of the current value) as minor repair cost. This whole episode and the experiences before this as well make me feel cheated. I too am a salesperson and know that everybody is in business to make profits, but this kind of reckless and unnecessary way to handle clients is just not right, especially in the long run.

I am definitely not getting the car repaired at this cost, and I would not be willing to trade in as well. I might as well get it repaired from outside and sell it off for what it's worth. I am writing this complaint to Mercedes/Gargash as of now and would request a response (if not a solution) at the earliest. As a next step, I will be forwarding this complaint to the relevant regulatory body in Dubai and media, so that at least the issue is highlighted, which might make life better for others in my situation.

Post the initial complaint, I had initially been sent two different estimates by you (one on fax and one on mail). I recently, on 25.07.09 at 11:28 am, received an SMS that my car is ready for collection, which I was asked to ignore. I also received a call from you yesterday wherein clearly I told you that I would have to wait till your Sales division gets back to me with an offer. Further, I received a call from your office at 10:41 am, and a lady told me that my car was ready for collection and you have asked her to call me. I told her of my discussion with you yesterday, after which, she transferred the line to you. Then you mentioned that due to shortage of parking space, I would need to decide immediately.

I have left my car at your workshop for over 2 weeks now, and I should be only asking you to hurry up. I received an estimate only on 20.07.09 and a reworked one on 23.07.09. I had visited your workshop/showroom on 25.07.09 to finalize a trade-in, but there was no suitable car available. I was asked if I was fine with waiting for another 7/10 days, and I agreed. So what is the point in pressurizing now.

This kind of unprofessional behavior is totally unacceptable. I am not willing to get the car repaired at such a high cost (even post the discounts) and will not buy just any car for a trade-in. As mentioned earlier, I would like to escalate my initial complaint with the recent issues.

On our 2008 Mercedes E320, it is impossible to bring the car to a smooth stop when braking. The braking reaction to the brake pedal pressure is not uniform, gripping harder at points in the stroke. The end of the braking always ends in a jolt no matter how hard we try to brake smoothly. The latter (full stop ends in a jolt) appears to be characteristic of other Mercedes automobiles, just more pronounced in our E320. We took this problem to our dealer. They offered no solution.

I took my car to a dealership in Ireland, and they put the car through the diagnostics and found nothing, yet they charged me 300 for the pleasure. They said that the door locks would have to be changed, but they said it was probably the electrics. Now my central locking does not work at all. I have to use the key physically to open the door and even that is getting stiff and does not want to work. How can Mercedes build great cars but have such huge problems as this. I feel angry with Mercedes. We cant find any manuals relating to the C180 04 model. Any advice?

However, the front airbags deployed in the face and hit the right eye of my daughter, age 14 years. She lost her vision. It was 96° and I had my 10-month old baby in the car. I was on my way to pick up my son from day care. Suddenly, my alternator light came on and the light was flashing for me to cut off my engine and turn off my coolant system, and to go to the nearest workshop. It was very hot outside and I had to ride with my baby without the AC on. My steering wheel suddenly lost all power steering and became completely stiff. I was heading towards a major intersection and could barely turn. It was one of the scariest moments of my life.

I contacted the service department and described what happened. They just told me to tow it in. I got in contact with my insurance company to make sure that I was covered under my mechanic's insurance. Later that day, I called to find out the results and I was informed not to worry about it, everything was free. The pulley for my alternator belt fell off and it was a recall. They paid my towing bill and fixed it free of charge. I guess I'm supposed to be grateful but I am flabbergasted! I had no idea it was a recall and my life and my daughter's life was put at risk because of this intense negligence on the part of the Mercedes dealership.

On April 8th 2007, it was Easter Sunday. I was driving down a main st. to visit the cemetery like I do every holiday. I lost my mother 10 years ago. I had just left my boyfriend’s house after having an Easter egg hunt that morning with his kids. I left approx 9ish. Now it was only 2 miles tops to where I was. I started to feel a little light-headed and I passed out. I woke up covered in blood, with a cracked windshield and a telephone pole completely out of the ground cracked in half. The car was totaled; I woke up to a woman yelling at me not to get out of the car because of the live wires. A police officer came over to me. I noticed the airbags did not go off. He asked for some phone numbers to call. I rattled off a few for him to call.

When they brought me in, they said my blood sugar had dropped real low, which hadn't happen to me in about 10 years. But since the airbags did not go off, and yes I had my seat belt on, I got a skull fracture, concussion, and 12 stitches to the head. I still have an awful scar there. They did a terrible job on the stitches. I had bruising, black eyes, you name it. I lost time at work then the PTSD came on. I found out this car had a lot of electrical problems I did not know about and that the SRS system had been worked on prior to me buying it. Why? I don't know. My car was totaled, it got hit dead on and the officer on the scene, who does reconstruction of accidents, said that the airbag should have gone off. I want to know of other situations. Since this had happened, I have heard of a lot of other similar issues, because I work with the public, and they have seen everything I have gone through, and have told me of other issues with Mercedes. I thought I was buying a strong reliable car.

A Neuro-psychologist did brain testing and found out I had mild brain injury from this accident. Still 2 years later, I have problems with memory, comprehension, and crying. It has been a nightmare! I am seeking counsel. I am just finding out there are many cases with problems with the airbag systems and wonder why they are not checked better to insure proper deployment. It is a real shame people have to go through this when they think they are buying a safe vehicle

Mercedes-Benz automobiles: expensive to buy, expensive to own, poorly made with life-threatening parts. According to the most recent Consumer Reports rating of the Best & Worst 2009 Cars, Mercedes-Benz is not included among its list of the Best-Made Cars, whereas makers such as Mazda are included. Mercedes also receives the lowest possible rating for annual cost to own. It also receives the lowest possible rating for predicted reliability on several of its models. Fifteen of its models, including several C-Class models, are listed in the category Used Cars to Avoid and in Consumer Reports list of Reliability by Brand, Mercedes ranks 27th out of the 34 brands rated.

Most disturbing, however, is the fact that Mercedes makes a product that may result, by failure of a part, in the death of the driver. Some years ago, the driver of a C-Class Mercedes Wagon leased from Mercedes of Smithtown had the following experience: While driving at expressway speed, the steering in this Mercedes locked-up. The car was not difficult to steer; it was impossible to steer. It took Mercedes of Smithtown three weeks to obtain a replacement part and it paid the driver $1,000 in hush money for her experience. No other automobile maker has ever used a part that caused a problem of this nature.

When arriving at the local Mercedes dealership last week (RAB in San Rafael), I was recognized by first name. I'd been in there a lot since purchasing an SL55 in 2004. The folks there are nice and it's not their fault that they are the middleman motivated to make money for the dealer’s service department on a product that no longer warrants the iconic Mercedes name. During the conversation, my advisor advised me that I really should have purchased an extended warranty. I sat there baffled that the car I purchased for a legacy of reliability was no more reliable than a US car maker, and therefore I should feel guilty that the car keeps breaking down and I didn't buy an extended warranty. Quite frankly, its reliability is the worst I've ever experienced in 35 years of driving. With a new ad campaign coming out highlighting how Mercedes won the world's first auto race in 1894 and the company is still in a race with itself for quality, consumers are advised that the reliability of this car is so poor that an extended warranty is a must. I was told that the problem (a defective shift module) is an unusual problem in this car. That is a lie.

I've spoken to five other Mercedes owners in the past week just in my local neighborhood. They all have had to have the shift module replaced for a supposed liquid must have seeped into it accident which none of us can recall. There are more common problems with this car, yet instead of recalling the non-functioning parts and technology that has been replaced in newer models, the pioneers of the early releases are treated like a mere guinea pig who is paying parts and labor after parts and labor for bringing Mercedes up the learning curve of their defective manufacturing and technology. A great car company would pay for their own mistakes by recalling the defectively engineered parts, thanking their customers for their patience with their learning curve mistakes, and doing the right thing. I'm not alone when voicing that I will never rely on Mercedes reliability and technology again.

Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty Consumer Fraud: Mercedes is engaged in deceptive business practices in violation of the Consumers Legal Remedies Act by representing that a transaction had certain benefits (warranty coverage) which it does not have. This practice should not be continued and must be stopped. They are intentionally concealing facts from the consumers in the sale contract. They state terms and conditions in the service contract offer which are different from what they sell to you as an extended warranty.

All Mercedes-Benz owners who purchased the extended warranties will be a part of this class action lawsuit. Every one of them paid about $2,000 to $3,000 for this service. They did not know the fact that their car could be out of warranty before 100,000 miles or 84 months as offered in the sale contract. I question the validity of the service contract offer for 84 months and 100,000 miles for a given price. Minutes after the service contract is offered, Mercedes changes the terms and the conditions of the offer by having you sign the Mercedes Care New Vehicle Extended Limited Warranty, which modifies or alters the terms and conditions of the original service contract. This is misleading and an unethical practice.

Here are some specific facts. During the final negotiations of the sale contract, Mercedes sales person offered us the option to purchase a Mercedes Care Service Contract for 84 months or 100,000 miles for $2,240.00. We opted to buy this service contract presented to us as an extended warranty that will cover our car for 84 months and 100,000 miles. Upon acceptance of the service contract, the Mercedes sales person asked my wife to sign the Mercedes Care Contract CC **. For the type of contract purchased, the sales person had checked 36 additional months (from expiration of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty or to a total of 100,000 accumulated miles, whichever comes first) of Premium Coverage.

Note: Nowhere on the sale contact or the Mercedes Care Contract: the terms and the conditions of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty are explained or defined (all car dealers have different new car warranties). By purchasing this warranty, we had peace of mind that any costly repairs would be covered till May 6, 2008 or 100,000 miles. According to Mercedes-Benz, my car warranty had expired on 10/07/2006, since my car went over 50,000 miles on 10/06/2003 (presumably the New Vehicle Limited Warranty is 48 months or 50,000 miles whichever comes first).

I also surveyed the local car dealers; none of them sell extended warranties like Mercedes. Toyota, Infinity, BMW, and Honda all sell you extended warranty and 84 months or 100,000 miles. This means that your vehicle will be covered for 84 months and 100,000 miles, no conditions applied. It is inclusive of the warranty that comes with the new car. If you would like to obtain further facts about the case, please email me at ** or call me at **. All Mercedes owners who purchased the extended warranty did not receive what they were offered. Their cost of $2,000 to $3,000 should be refunded. Also in my particular case, they denied the repair cost of over $7,200.00. My car still has less than 100,000 miles and could not be used for the last two years.

Mercedes Benz will take no responsibility, unlike Ford who after 15 years, has recalled a Capri due to electrical problems. I have had to replace the wiring loom at my own expense and possibly as a result of oil not being pumped to the head, the entire engine. The car was towed to a Mercedes Dealer who charged an outlandish amount to assess the problem. It was cheaper to replace the engine. Cost so far: rebuilt head, replace wiring harnesses, replace engine.

I strongly disagree with that statement as rims are not expected to be damaged. With only 11,000 miles on the car; all four rims were in need of replacement due to dangerous cracks and dents. The damages can be felt at all speeds but especially above 50MPH. As the problem got more serious, the tires became damaged. I had to replace three out of four tires on the car with less than 14,000 miles. Now, at 33,000 miles, I have spent thousands of dollars in repairs and countless hours dealing with the issues. I have spoken to the service manager and General Manager over at Mercedes of Manhattan as well as the corporate office in New Jersey dozens of times.

I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2004 S500 still under factory warranty and the complementary 12M/100,000 Certified warranty, and quickly told to purchase additional warranty, a jojack, paint sealer, paint protector, sound profing.
I asked if I was purchasing a Hundai or a Mercedes. Finally I was told the extended warranty offer is only good during the purchase, and if I wanted to return the next day, after thinking about it, they could not offer it to me. Where is salesman?, and they make no aopologies about it. Upset at being pressured to purchased additional warranty at the spot I canceled it a month later, to receive a refund 6 weeks later, The bookkeeper forgot to tear out the itemized disbursement refund tab and it indicated the additional 1 year extended warranty I paid $ 2,400 for had a commission to the salesman of $ 810.00, the actual cost of the warranty was like 1,300. Unbelievable to be that brazen, no wonder the peddle these warranties, they make more on them that the sale of the car. Fast forward, I'[ve been having problems with the Tire Monitoring System, and have taken the car several times without success. The system will trigger warnings that the tire pressure is 0, or 15, or 18 PSI, or sometimes I manually check and the pressure is 44,48 even 52 PSI. I've had two tire blow out during the last year without getting a nail or hitting anything. On the freeway I lost control and thank god it was late and only the car sustained damage. Since I am a very good driver I selected a $ 2,000 collission/comprehensive deductible; bad idea. II've paid $ 4,000 in deductibles for the to incidents, not accidents, bu the Insurance canceled my policy for having "multiple Accidents". On the weekend prior to 11/24/08 the car decided to have a system wide electronic breakdown. The perennial Tire Monitoring System Malfunctioned, Then a Message the Airmatic System was non-functional, then driving the car began to get stuck on a single gear and the tachometer was revving up to 4,000 RPM, a message from the console that the Pre-Safe was Offline. I made it home in what is know a "limp-home mode" the car can only travel no more than 30MPH. The Dealer contacted me the next day to informed me that I was out of warranty when in fact I had the complementary Pre-Owned Certified Warranty until May 2009. After researching they discovered the idiot who canceled my paid extended warranty also canceled the complementary Pre-Certified Warranty, and Mercedes of NA would now need to update the computers back with the warranty information. I am a system programer with a Master's in Information Technology and and update to the system should take no more that spitting out a shewing gum. Two days later and the car is not being worked on until thet Dealer sees the Warranty update. I was to travel for the Thanksgivings holiday to see my family with the car, and now have to decide to forgo, or incurr additional expense to rent a car. My family has owned Mercedes since the early 60's. My father stopped purchasing them in the late 80's due to service and reliability, my mother stopped purchasing them as well her last one was the money pit q 1994 500SL, and my sisters have also forgo the Mercedes "allure" one had an ML500 that she would use twice a month the rest of the time was at the shop, and my other sister loves her BMW 750, traded from a CL600. I think she cashed some stocks for repairs on that beauty. I am the last of the Mercedes "Mahican" but rest assured this will be my last one. These car's as they used to advertised are "engineered like no other car in the world"; poorly engennering would be a better slogan, and the car's value drop like a ton of brick due to the excessive amount of leased cars on the road. Mercedes dealerships used to be personal, independent, great customer service, even some with social manners, and a decent dress code. Now you walk in and there is are 20 in line to see the receptionist, dresses in skin tight pants and proudly showing her speckled make up, and the new breast implants, and their attitude a bit better than a hungry alligator. I think all this started with the advent of the car leasing explosion, but many manufacturers, and banks will no longer lease cars. That will cut down on the number of "wannabees" that are willing to pay more for a Mercedes lease than a mortgage. And maybe Mercedes will be forced to look at building betters cars not more volume at the expense of quality.

I was extremely impressed with their new line of C-class and decided to see if I can get a good deal on it. If so, I would probably have purchased one on the spot.
After their first initial price offer and I told them I was looking for something much lower, their sales manager Bob approached me with a smile. He was fairly friendly at first but all that changed when he asked me how much I was willing to pay for it. The number I gave him was probably a bit low since I have not done any prior research but hit actions were uncalled for. I do not mind him telling me that the price is impossible but instead he spoke to me with overly exaggerated expressions and sarcasm. That along with his metaphors and offensive jokes made me felt like an total idiot. I normally do not get annoyed by stuff like this but this coming from a sales manager at a luxury dealership just shocks me. If I was trying to sale someone a product/service and they want it at a too low of a price, I am not going to make them feel like an idiot. Number one they are a customer so I will do everything I can to make them feel good about the purchase and number two I do not expect them to know the INs and OUTs of my product/service. I have taken my vehicle into the POMPANO BEACH MERCEDES BENZ dealership FIVE TIMES IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS for this noise. They send me away telling me to live with it because they cannot duplicate the noise. The bearings have been replaced twice already and once this is done the noise disappears. However, it seems that once the bearings are worn, the noise returns. Each time I take it in for service and am told there is nothing wrong, I leave and the sound becomes even louder. I demanded a technician come to my home and ride with me. JOE, the roadside service technician, heard the noise and said it was the shocks. I took the vehicle in for the fifth time only to be told that Joe was out sick the next day, they couldn't speak to him and to just come get the vehicle. I told them to keep it until they could speak with Joe. Joe told the advisor, Adam, I backed out of my driveway at 30 mph. Impossible and I was furious. Thank you for your concern on the deadline of the ordering date of the 2009 Mercedes Benz C300 Sport you mentioned in your letter. Its not my lack of knowledge of what your information packet stated that has delayed the order placement of the car that I won in the Hole-In-One contest for the Make a Wish Charity - Mercedes outing. Truth be told what has held up this order is the way your company has changed the winning prize after the prize was won by me and awarded to me at the awards ceremony, the new post win prize has been reduced to as you put in your letter base model?

C300 sport sedan, changing it drastically from the car presented to me as my prize on the day of the event. Clearly the car you now speak of is not the same car that was parked beside the tee box of the 17th hole par 3 on the day of the outing at Manhattan Woods. I am baffled as to how a company such as Mercedes can so un-shamefully change the grand prize after the fact. It is obviously poor sportsmanship as well as poor customer relations the way Mercedes has handled the outcome of my hole-in-one win. The car that your company proudly and prominently displayed was a C300 sport 4-matic with navigation, automatic transmission & premium packages. Possibly you were not aware of the grand prize that was displayed.

I was told after I won the car and the prize was changed that it was clearly stated in my invitation what the prize was.? In the invitation I received there was nothing mentioned about the car at all. I have enclosed a copy of the invitation that I received. Also, this being a celebration of a golfers dream, I have several pictures of myself and friends that were present at the 17th hole, they were also present at the award ceremony when the keys to my prize were presented to me. These photos clearly show that the car that was presented to me was not a C300 base model? as you now contend. It cannot be any clearer to me that whoever put this deal together did not plan on anyone winning. The sad part of this is I have been a Mercedes customer for years and have purchased several Mercedes Benzs and would not have expected the lack of integrity your company has displayed. I am looking for nothing more than the prize car I was awarded as well as presented with the day of the outing.

the difference in the car that was at the tee box as well as presented to me at the award ceremony is aproximately 15,000. different than the car that is being offered to me as my prize I have countless pictures of the car the day of the event as well as letters from mercedes as they have reduced the prize. I also have my oeriginal invitation that was emailed to me. There is NOTHING stated about the car on the invitation what so ever. Anybody knows the prize that sits on the tee box at a hole in one contest is the prize that is awarded.

I purchased a 2004 Mercedes Benz S500 in October 2004. This vehicle currently has 30,000 miles on it. Last week my car wouldnt start because it hasnt been driven in about a week. I contacted Beck Imports and they sent a technician to jump-start it for me. The technician said the vehicle was still under warranty. They had to tow the vehicle to Beck Imports. Beck Imports called me to inform me that the car has a drain and that leaves were blocking the drain where the rain/water had backed up and flooded out the padding of the carpet and damaged the electrical system. They told me that the warranty that I have wouldn't cover that.

I listened to what the Mercedes technician said and there is no way that leaves could have clogged this vent to allow water to overflow and damage the electrical system for this vehicle. I also video recorded what was "fixed" and there is no way leaves could have clogged the vent. The technician said when its clogged to take a coat hanger to release the water so the leaves can go through. Why would you train your technicians to tell a customer to use a coat hanger to unclog a drain? This is supposed to be one of the best cars on the market! I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the Mercedes Benz!

On top of this matter I had to pay $6,528.21 to Beck Imports to fix this. I know that something else caused electrical damage to my car however I feel like the dealership lied to me about it. I have done my own investigation I came to the conclusion that something else caused the damage. I am considering going to another mechanic and find out why this happened. I feel like this is a defect and Mercedes wont warranty it and due to the manufacturer not warranting it I paid for it!

I want the Mercedes Benz to be aware of this problem and I want more Mercedes Benz owners to be aware of this problem also. And to be honest I don't believe that leaves would clog a drain of this car to cause the water damage that I had on the floor. I had to pay for new electrical wiring for this vehicle due to structure damage that came from the manufacturer and this should be covered under warranty. Mercedes advertises a well built vehicle as well as prestige and I question that. I should have been told that I needed to build a garage and instead of using a car cover but it doesn't make any difference because I don't feel like the leaves cause the damage to my car. I would like someone from Mercedes Benz to contact me regarding this complaint and how we can resolve this issue.

I purchased a used 2002 C240 mercedes in 2005 from Buckhead Mercedes in Atanta. I had always been a Toyota owner before and I thought I was purchasing a vehicle that was superior. I had always been under the impression that Mercedes Benz was supposed to be a wonderfully engineered auto. Boy was I wrong. The day I drove my c240 off the lot, after paying over $25,000 including additional "GOLD" warranty and taxes, the check engine light went on. Mercedes Benz did not inform me at time of purchase that I would be paying $200.00 deductible every single time my car went into gthe shop (If the warranty co. approved repairs, that is!) The deal was a rip off from the start. From the Salesperson (Who refused to return my calls, to the lies she told me about the "valuable and worthwhile warranty") She told me that repairs were rare on MB and if I needed one it would cost me nothing. (Because of this additional $3600.00 I spent on a GOLD WARRANTY.

I moved to Florida shortly after that and all together my car has been in the shop for too many problems to mention. Everything from shaking, rattling, stalling, seat module control failure, door lock failure, door handle falling off, gasket leaks (which they refused to repair because warranty only okayed one side), Spark plug wires going bad, rotors, brakes, engine smells, AC failure, etc. All in all, this car has been a total NIGHTMARE. It has cost me THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs and that is WITH warranty. Now I just got it out of the shop and it took them 10 days! More rental car fees (Those have added up to hundreds if not a thousand dollars alone.)

When I got my car out of the dealership this time they charged me over $750.00 for service B and the deductible for Warranty work. 10 minutes after driving away, my engine light went on and my car started shaking, idling rough. I bring the car back and guess what? They tell me that the spark plug wires are bad and just the diagnostic alone to find that out cost me $199.00. I was shocked, since I just paid a load of money to have them check out and repair my C240. I find that C240 customers are treated like 2nd class citizens. Why does it take 2 days to find out what the problem is and 8 more days to get around to repairing it?

All I get from them is excuses and "I can't help you." Buying this car has been the worst financial mistake I have ever made in my life. I now have a piece of junk on wheels that I owe more than its worth. I honestly could not sleep at night if I sold it to some poor unsuspecting soul. Also, I changed a flat tire and it was dark, so I could not see the little extra bag of nuts that need to be used to change spare. You CANNOT use the ones from the real tire! Who would know that?

This resulted in the stripping on the wheel rotor. That is going to NOW cost me ANOTHER $1500! MB knows this is ridiculous design. They have a scam going and everytime I read another posting about something that has happened to my car, happening to other people, I know MB is guilty of designing lemons and forcing its customers into expensive repair situations to make even more money. The C240, I have found out, is not as good as a Nissan Sentra. Wait, I'm sorry, the Nissan would have never had any problems like this car has. Next time I'm going to stick with Toyota or one of the makers who actually put out a good product and treat their customers like they are humans, not cash ATMS.

I am just one of many people who have suffered, and continue to suffer the injustices of owning a MERCEDES BENZ. Never again! I would rather walk. Huge amounts of stress, loss of work days, THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs, headaches and the knowledge that I cannot depend on my so called "luxury" car to get me where I need to go.

The tire store changed all tires except the spare because the hub that the tire fits on was completely stripped out. That is when we found the instructions to the spare tire that it has special lugnuts. We wrote to the company in Germany and got an impertinent letter from one of their little minions at MBUSA named Lisa Tognetti. She told us that she was happy to deny our request for assistance and thanked us? for the opportunity our letter had afforded the little twit to confirm MBs corporate position. Ill ride a large dog before I buy another Mercedes. The design and quality of their post-1998 cars has declined appallingly. Anyone thinking of doing business with them should know that Daimler Benz and MB USA have the morals of opium dealers. Buy a Mercedes at your peril.

My wife was driving. Car ran very rough. Had to limp home. Took car to dealer for air vent hose recall. They replaced part and suggested a compression test for rough idle problems.

We declined and took car to our regular mechanic for diagnosis. He took car to Anaheim Mercedes for help with diagnosis. They said car has warped engine and needs new engine block at a cost of $6,500. I argue that car is only 4 years old with only 60k miles and even though out of warranty--car engine is defective and car is not driveable or safe. I did nothing to contribute to the problem. On May 21st 2007, I purchased a 2005 SL500 from EuroMotorcars. I paid full retail price of $60K and traded my 2005 E320 CDI(not too bright of a move)and received the wholesale price of $25K. This information is important to show that the dealer made plenty of money on this sale. On the drive home I noticed the wheels were out of balance. After returning from vacation on the 26th I noticed that the car was lopsided (Right side lower than Left), also noticed a message indicating scheduled maintenance B was due.

That day I took the car to my local dealer, it was raining and the wipers blades did not work. The dealer balanced the wheels, replaced the wiper blades, and did a short test & flushed the ABC system (Got the car back on the 29th). I sent the bill for the balancing & wiper blades to EuroMotorcars and they paid that bill. On the morning of the 30th I noticed the car was still lopsided(Right much lower than left). On Monday morning June 2nd, I scheduled the car for repair to be done on Wednesday the 4th.

That Monday afternoon at the dentist office the car would not start, called roadside assistance for a jump, and then drove to the dealership and had a new battery installed. My problem is that this was a CPO car, and should be free of these (should have known) problems. I don't know exactly what CPO entails but would hope that the above problems would be uncovered in the certification process. This car was sitting on the showroom floor when I purchased it, it's hard to believe no one noticed the car was lopsided. So far I have lost 9 hours of my time and 5 days use, and have owned the car for only 2 weeks. I have been driving Mercedes since 1976 (When it was not only a great car, but made financial sense to own one). I'm having a hard time making the switch from MB, but feel I have no other intelligent choice. (I still have fond memories of my first 1969 250). It's sad, but I am starting to understand why people might switch to Lexus or BMW.

I purchased ML350 06 brand new from New Country Motor Cars in Hartford. It was the first of this model if not the first car of this line. The very first day I drove it off the dealership, it was raining and I felt I was driving off the road. My husband drove the car a couple of weeks later on a trip from Massachusetts, but he couldn't complete the trip because he felt the car was too unsafe. I reported our experience to the service, department of the dealership and they suggested that the tires may need to be re-aligned -- which they did.

Then I started experiencing a strange occurrence while on the road and applying gas the car will slow down to a very low speed and the engine will be revving. I usually have to stop the car, turn of the ignition and start the car again and it will be fine. When road conditions are a little rough and there is a mild wind, the vehicle feels like it is being blown off the road and I will have to literally slow way below speed if I want to continue driving, neither to say that driving during the winter time was a nightmare.

The back hatch of the car will not close and sometimes when I press the button to close it, it will come down like it is closing then it will lift up again. I reported it to the dealership and they ordered a replacement part. In December of 07 I returned to my car from the gym and noticed that the fan was running while the engine was completely off. I wasn't sure what was wrong, so I drove the car home and made sure everything was turned off then went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning to go to work the car would not start. I called Mercedes Benz roadside assistance and had to take the car into the dealership. Prior to fan issue, there was a grinding noise whenever I made a right turn. The dealership kept the car for almost three weeks to figure out the problem. Then the car spent another 4-5 days for the hatch repair.

However, two days after I got the car back from the dealership, the Check Engine light came on. The dealership scheduled a time to have the car picked up and for the next 36 days the car was kept at the dealership while they tried figuring out how to fix the problem. They literally took the car apart including the dashboard -- At this point the dealership agreed that this was a mechanically faulty car, as I have been saying.

The general manager offered to give me a new car (08) with a similar package and transfer my existing extended warranty to the new car at a cost of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000). I told him that I will rather do it for between five and eight thousand dollars, but he refused. He offered me a loss of use payment of $623 and extended my warranty for 45 days. When I received the car back, they have put over 500 miles on it. They were unable to replace the dashboard as it was originally done in the factory, so there is a line showing where the dashboard was originally seated; then there was a tear in the driver seat and the mirror cover in the sun visor of the passenger side was broken.

Now the grinding noise is even louder and there is a buzzing noise coming out of the engine, when the steering wheel is turned 180 degrees and I'm backing out or pulling into a parking space. At this point I don't feel safe driving the car. I have reported the latest findings to the dealership and they have asked me to make yet another appointment to bring the car in. I have extensive service documentation (a book thick) for my twenty or so visits to the dealerships--this is becoming a full time job for me. I have called the Manufacturer (Mercedes Benz USA) three times and requested a buy back, as this is clearly a mechanically fault car and they have refused.

I don't know what else to do besides paying the 15k to have the car replace--this has been really an ML350 from hell and I'm looking for help and guidance. I paid cash for the car hoping not to be saddled with car payments and I chose a Mercedes Benz for quality and reliability, but now it looks like this is the biggest mistake I have ever made. I want the manufacturer to take responsibility and replace the car. Thousands of dollars in repair cost, prior to the dealership acknowledging that the car had problems and loss of use and time.

On the day of, I called in the morning to confirm the time. 25 minutes before arriving, I called again to confirm. Upon arrival, I was told that the sales associate had left for the day, and was given a new sales person. The price of the vehicle offered by the second sales associate was wildly different and was informed that a mistake must have been made as the price the original sales associate had provided was clearly 'too good to be true'. Additionally I was informed that the car had undergone a comprehensive inspection. Unfortunately, this is not possible as the car's trouble indicator lights began going off within 125 miles, and the car had over 60 trouble codes in it's computer. The car has had no servicing whatsoever and had pretty significant issues that any mechanic would have identified by the naked eye (completely non-functional thermostat, severely bent tire-rod, etc.). I believe that this dealership made false representations about the inspections they perform on these vehicles, and as well used unethical sales practices to get me to drive 50 miles to visit their dealership. Additionally, when discussing the price, the sales person manipulated the terms of the deal (price and interest rate changes while holding the payment constant) and represented this as the exact same thing, I presume on the assumption that the same thing to him meant that as long as the payments were the same it makes no difference to a buyer. Quite possibly he was gaming his own commission system, but in any event the terms of these deals (sales price to be taxed on, interest rate over time) do affect buyers and by stating that it is the exact same thing is a misrepresentation that will possibly mislead a less than savvy buyer. In short, unethical sales process, false representations of inspections or service performed on the vehicle, misleading financial term negotiations.

My 2003 C230K has been to the shop too many times for similar recurring problems, supposedly fixed under warranty. The four year warranty has expired and the last little bag of rubber gaskets and hoses cost me $1080. The car was in the shop for three days as parts were not in stock. One of the little hoses (crankcase ventilator hose) cost $15 and $460 to replace. Temperature sensor and thermostat cost about the same for labor to replace. The temperature sensor had been replaced under warranty about a year ago. I have many complaints about cheap plastic trim and accessories breaking and not repaired under warranty. From reading other complaints about this model, mine are quite similar. I doubt Mercedes will respond favorably to my note requesting the last bill to be refunded and covered by warranty. The problems were all pre-existing and not repaired or repaired with faulty parts prior to the warranty expiring. I am all for joining a class action suit.

The Mercedes brand was a valuable and impressive one and luckily for them, it does not die overnight, but I believe things are starting to catch up with current management. Mercedes refused to support me with a problem the local dealership was having in repairing my new Mercedes and was very clear in their hands off approach that they do not get involved at the dealership level. I was appalled at how little they cared and tried to call again just to see if it was a fluke and got the same response from a supervisor. I can't help you, was his closing line to me. Now I have a buyer who would like to take over one of my leased vehicles and has been approved and Mercedes wants to take 8 weeks to process as they do not deem this service as a priority to them. They get their money no matter what so why would they offer a service to a current and multi-car owner? I think the lack of support in multiple incidents with separate vehicles points to a serious problem that consumers must be made aware of. If the manufacturer is not going to support owners as they have clearly demonstrated, this should be public knowledge.

I immediately called my insurance company and faxed them this information. I haven't followed up with Mercedes Benz about this but I have been encouraged to do so because not only did I lose the car I loved, my insurance didn't cover the full cost of my vehicle, and I ended up paying $5000 to cover the rest of my car loan. The EPA sued MB and a recall was supposed to be performed; however, MB failed to notify the owners of the affected vehicles. MB tells me they did not send me a recall letter nor will they fix my vehicle under the recall since I'm not on their VMI list, even though my VIN is on the list of affected vehicles on the EPA documents and the MB service campaign documents.

The more research I do, the more I see that this is common complaint with ML owners. It appears that MB is doing all they can to avoid the issue. The dealer even told me, before I knew about the recall, to take it to a muffler shop to have them weld the faulty converter, prbably in hopes that I would do that and never find out about the recall. In addition, the emission control pump has failed om my vehicle (second time) that I suspect is being caused by the faulty converters. This is related to a critical safety issue on Mercedes-Benz vehicles manufactured approximately from 1993-1997. All these vehicles have an acknowledged and widely known problem with the engine wiring harness that has caused fires, vehicle sudden stalls on highways and other incidents. The harness will fail on all these vehicles as it is defectively constructed with an unsuitable insulation that prematurely disintegrates over time regardless of usage or mileage. The harness is a critical element of the vehicles operation as it directly affects ignition, fuel injection, timing, cooling, rpm, mixture and other critical functions of the engine. The manufacturer is aware of the problem, and, absent involvement from the NHTSA or civil action, has refused to address it in a proactive and responsible manner. It is of the utmost importance that the DOT gets actively involved before a very preventable ang regrettable fatal accident occurs as a result of this defect.

The vehicle continued to rub but this time they diagnosed it as from the rear. They then replaced the springs and shocks in the rear. I had a rear tire go out and had a local tire shop tell me it was from the tire rubbing against the rear strut. Mercedes at first did not want to honor the tire but the service manager did after reviewing the history. Electrical problems started occurring such as the interior lights not functioning, the doors locks worked when they wanted to and the turn signals would not return to neutral. My 2005 C-230 Sports Sedan leased on January 7, 2005 showed Check Engine on November 4, 2005 and again on December 4, 2005. The first time, the service garage of Valley Motor corrected what they said was a computer problem and the second time they took 10-12 days to replace valve springs on exhaust valves, update control unit and perform SCN coding. Thereafter, on August 2, 2006, I complained about soft brake paddle and on October 10, about a foul order emission from the AC system. On October 30 last, the SRS malfunction light came on. They fixed it. When I wondered why a new Mecedes C-230 was not functioning satisfactorily, the service supervisor said all this was normal and even suggested that my expectations for a C class was unrealistic. I leased the vehicle at the price of $ 34,000.00 and I have never felt secure while driving it at night or long distance.

So far I have not incurred any economic or physical damage. But I am psychologically upset and even have become apprehensive of any sudden erratic behavior of the car's engine. It seems I am saddled with a lemon with a 48-month lease payment @$440.00 per month. I have never been so suspicious of a new car and this all the more galling and sad as this one happens to be a Mercedes!

My husband and I purchased a new Mercedes C240 in 2001 for $35,000.00 from the dealership. Like many other people we were so excited to own such a fun little car. Soon afterward, we started feeling the suck from our wallet to keep this fun little car running. The electrical system has been replace many times, the first time about 3 months after we purchased the car. When the car is repaired it runs for only a few weeks before it breaks down again. It has cost us over $15,000.00 in repairs and has been dealer maintained! Over the years we expressed our concern many times to the dealership and they said that we were the only customers who have expressed such a problem. One gentleman said that he understood our frustration but Mercedes would never do anything about it. For the past year it has sat in our driveway because every time we use it, the electrical system wipes out whether we were on a highway or at home. The car is now undrivable. The electrical system is frozen and we are afraid to sink anymore money into the car for fear that it will break down immediately again. I have never felt so frusterated & taken advantage of by a company before. We can't trade the car in and we can't sell it because it is undrivable so for right now it makes an expensive lawn ornament.

Thousands of dollars spent in good faith to maintain what we now feel was a lemon. Looking back we were taken advantage of by Mercedes Benz.

According to MB Certified program the car was to be in like new condition with very specific guidelines in order for a car to meet their certified criteria. It was not. When driving the car, it always would go towards the right. There was wind coming in from around the side frame when I drove. There was a hole in the carpet they tried to cover up with floor mats. Yellow began coming through the leather w/in a day. It needed tires badly. It had no spare keys nor any owners manuals. etc etc etc. Finally 3 days later I took off of work to return it to mb long beach. They were horrible! They said I couldn't get my S430 back, I couldn't return the ML320 that was in service just 3 days after purchasing it, but I could pay $5,000 more for a comporable vehicle.. When 2000 miles was reched it was attemped to be repaired by alignment. This failed and it was returned again for the same complaint. Mercedes repaired this time using an adapter kit which was said to be against Mercedes-Benz advice. The car is better but not perfect as it should be. This could cost me more than the price of a new automobile. The airbag along with the safety belt saved my son from serious injury. But the seatbelt alone had to work for me.

The dealer had fixed the problem but after a few months later the coolant light came on and they said that the wind shield wiper water levels was low so it triggered the coolant light to come on. Last month my car started to jerk while driving. They said that it was a faulty computer module so they changed it. When I drove the car home it still had the same problem so I took it in again. This time they said it was the transmission valve so they had it replaced.

While I was driving out of the driveway the car jerked so hard my daughter and I almost got into a car accident. Now they are saying that my car needs a new transmission. I thought Mercedes Benz is a reliable high quality vehicle. My car only has 14,000 miles and it needs a new transmission. I've never heard of such thing! I am really disappointed! When I took the vehicle for repairs, it was discovered that the front suspension on both sides had considerable wear on it. In addition, the auto body shops and the Allstate Insurance Adjuster are advising that this is a common problem with this vehicle make

How can the front suspension fall out of a vehicle in such a short period of time, particularly a Mercedes which is supposed to stand for superior quality and workmanship? How is it possible that a vehicle with this much potential to be dangerous to its passengers be certified by a prestigous company as Mercedes?

I put in a claim with my insurance company, which to them will be considered an at-fault claim. As a result, my premium is going to increase. I explained that I have had to rent a car for the past month costing approximately $800 and I will have to continue to do so until my vehicle is fixed. I don't make car parts and I could care less if they are having trouble with their part suppliers. This is totally unfair to the consumer which has to pay for a rent a car in addition to my regular car pmts.

I was told that an expedite request was put in about a month ago. I wonder how long it would take if it wasnt expedited. It affected the whole braking system that also needs to be replaced otherwise i'd be driving a car that would end up killing me because of brake system failure. It stalled me in the highway when the problem started and literally came to a full stop (in the middle of snow storm). I always brought this car to the dealer for all services that it needs, never found any problems with it until the warranty expired.

Anybody would think that this car would live up with it's "high end" expectations after paying such a high price for it would surely be disappointed. I am VERY disappointed and would never recommend this car to anyone. I truly think that it is not fair for consumers to pay a high price and expect to have a "disposable" car as soon as the warranty expires. In my opinion, this problem is even worse than any of the problems you can get from any cheapest car.

I called the custumer service and the dealership who both told me plainly that the warranty has expired and that i have to pay for any repairs that the damage incurs.

I initially tried to temporarily repair the tire with "fix-a-flat" so that I could drive it to my local tire shop for repair. When the "fix-a-flat" did not work, my boyfriend rolled up his sleeves and replaced the flat tire with the spare tire.
Stored along side the spare tire in a neat little package was supposedly everything we would need to change the tire (jack, white cotton gloves, etc.). Nowhere in the neat little package were there additional "special" lug nuts that were supposed to be used with the spare tire. In addition, the spare tire repair kit was completely devoid of any instructions or any warning regarding the use of "special" lug nuts when using the spare tire. Accordingly, my boyfried proceeded to change the tire and replace the lug nuts used with the original tire to secure the spare. Well, as it turns out, the original lug nuts (which have the same shape and head size as the mysterious "special" nuts) are too long to use with the spare tire and if used to affix the spare will result in severe damage to the wheel hub and other allegedly vital wheel accessories.

I have had a myriad of problems with my 2003 CLK 320A. The rain-sensing wipers have a mind of their own and continue constantly even after it has stopped raining. It drives me bonkers. They say there is no adjustment and the "PICKET FENCE EFFECT" causes this problem. Ever heard that one before?
The car also has a hesitation after it is warm and you let it rest for a while. Upon restarting and entering traffic, it hesitates and nearly stalls and after a few seconds begins to accelerate, nearely causing an accident because I am now in the road with no power. It's been in the shop three times and they tell me there are no codes and they find nothing wrong with the car. It occurs sporadically and I never know when this will happen.
I have no trust in this car now and wait until no one is in sight before I enter the roadway. Also, as anyone who owns a CLK can attest, they have the flimiest, most ill designed cupholder I've ever seen. It won't hold the cup securely and it often just slips out. Yesterday, it did slip out and some of my Pepsi apparently dripped down into the electronic transmission shifter. This made the transmission lock up in low gear and I couldn't get it out. I pulled over and it came out of Drive and went into Park. The entire car malfunctioned when I tried to restart it. It would not restart and all kinds of lights started flashing. I couldn't put up the windows or the convertible top. I could not get into my trunk to fetch my laptop or other work materials. The entire electrical system was haywire because of a poorly designed cupholder and transmission shifting unit. Shouldn't it be waterproof if they put the cupholder directly above the transmission shifter opening? Particulary a cupholder that won't hold a cup!
I tried to start it again and it finally did. It would not come out of Park and tons of lights and codes were flashing. Then the convertible top starting coming open and closed all by itself. Up and down it went. Time after time. Not too safe! The whole incident has left me more soured toward this car then ever. The SOS button was the only thing that worked correctly in the car! I was informed that I would have to pay the towing (this on a car that comes with life-time Roadside Assistance) because I put the Pepsi down in the elcectric shifter. They are the ones that designed and built this thing and I believe that they should stand behind it.
Now I really have no trust or feeling of safety with this car. With only 11,00 miles, it has already been in the shop more times them I can count on one hand! They did tell me that they would goodwill this problem once, but this towing and future problems are on me. Isn't this a design FLAW? I've never heard of this type of problem before. Why wouldn't they fix it in such a way that this would never happen again? When I first told Frank Basso what was happening, he immediately asked me if I had spilled something from the cupholder, which is directly above the opening of the shifter. This must be a significant problem with these cars, because he knew exactly what had happened. How do I get MB to take this beautiful but poorly designed car BACK? I just don't feel safe in this car anymore. This thing could put your eye out!
I missed the entire day of an insurance enrollment. All my materials were in the trunk and I tried everything to get it open. I waited a few hours for the tow truck and it had to be dragged onto the flatbed because it would not come out of Park. This can't be good for the tires, transmission and drivetrain. I paid $97 for the tow. Not to mention the emotional damage I feel when I think about how much I invested in this car which I now can't trust or feel safe driving. I am very disgusted with this car. I understand why Consumers Report rates it as the car line with the least initial QUALITY! What do I do to have Mercedes take this car BACK?

Thomas needs to brush up on the and then talk to an attorney.
