I purchased this vehicle thinking it would be a great family car, but the engine problem that it has should have never occurred at the mileage that it did. When I bought my journey, it had 23,000 miles. At 30,000, I had to have it towed into the dealership because it was undrivable! The lifters had to be replaced at 30,000. The engine never ran the same since. Recently, I brought it back in because of a ticking noise coming from the engine. The dealership then replaced the entire intake manifold and the rocker arms at 64,000 miles. I've owned many cars, new and used, and have never had these problems.

The car won't start. I have been in dealer for already 8 times. They can fixed this problem. The aircon turn on by yourself. I had a liking inside the mirror in front driver.

I bought a 2013 Journey in on Aug 5th 2013 with 43 miles on it and since Aug 8th 2013, it has been to two different dealerships and one independent front end shop for an alignment problem. And as of today it has been aligned 8 times, had the front cradle adjusted, tires and wheels replaced and it still pulls hard right. And all of them say it’s in prefect spec and it should drive straight as an arrow but it doesn't. In fact it now has 2000 miles on it and is now on its 3rd complete set of wheels and tires. The last set was installed on Aug 22nd 2013 by Dodge and when I took it back to a different dealer at the request of Chrysler on Sept. 3rd, that set was completely worn on the inside edge of the left front. I’m really fed up. I have owned it 35 days and 26 of them it’s been in the shop. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

I bought the Journey new (2010) - plus the extended warranty. Problems started with the brakes and rotors, key system, air conditioning and now motor mounts. Dodge says the motor mounts are not covered. Extended warranty is a costly joke. There is no reason for motor mounts to fail with 78000 miles of highway driving and seldom passing anyone (no tickets for over 30 years). Dealer wants over $500 to repair them. I'm sure Mopar will soon be a memory if they continue with these business practices. I am extremely dissatisfied. This is the last Mopar I will ever own!

From the bottom of my rear window to the ground, it is exactly 4ft. so when I back up, I can't see any children that may be under 48 inches or maybe riding a bike behind me. So I called Chrysler about this safety issue and they told me that they are not responsible, that I am, because I did not have them add the camera as a feature when I bought it. What can I do?

My 2010 Dodge Journey has 83,000 miles on it and still drives and runs like new. I haven't had any trouble with it. I have heard so many complaints against Journeys, but I have had none of the problems described by others. I find the 3.5 to be a very good engine in this vehicle; it has plenty of power and gets very decent gas mileage. My Journey has the AWD, which really helps in PA winters. I hope to upgrade to a 2013 Journey soon.

I can't believe all the complaints with regards to the 2011 Dodge Journey brakes. I too had pulsating and brought in to the dealer. They said my brakes were dirty. Back a few weeks later, I had to have new rotors and pads (15000 miles). At that time, I also pointed out that the tires seemed to be wearing out. They told me they were fine. A month later, my check engine light is on. I brought it in (and of course, the light goes off when I pulled in to the dealer). They say gas cap probably wasn't on tight. A week later, a light went on again. I made an appointment and brought it back in still complaining about tires stating I was leaving in 24 hours on vacation and needed my car safe. Tires were balding on left side.
Well, the check engine light was they need to replace cylinder head. It would take three days to get the part and two days to work on car. I can't drive it on vacation. Great. I bought this lemon a year ago brand new, and now I am stuck with no car and leaving to go on vacation in 24 hours. I asked the service department what they are going to do for me. They said there is nothing they can do. This is our only vehicle. I am very upset that I went and talked to the salesman who sold me this car. He talked with the service dept and they gave me a number for Chrysler to call. I called and they provided me with a rental. Why couldn't service tell me that right at the start?
I’m still trying to deal with the tires. These tires should get at least 40,000 miles on them. The whole time they had my car, they did absolutely nothing about the tires. Back when there were only 15000, I questioned them. Maybe they should have suggested an alignment. I have my tires rotated. I am 55 and have had many cars and have never gone through tires that fast. Since this has happened, I noticed myself checking the tires on all journeys I see in parking lots and guess what? They have tire wearing out also! I've told the dealer I want out of this car. They will only give me $15,000 for my car and I owe $24,000. What a joke. I am stuck with a lemon. What is going to go wrong next? I absolutely hate this car. I am afraid to take it anywhere.
Another problem I had was my passenger window would not go up. No power. I banged on door for a while and it did eventually go up. I brought it in to the dealer and of course, they couldn't find anything wrong. I’m just waiting for it to happen again. When it happened, we were driving down the turnpike. My poor passenger in backseat was getting blown away. Thank God, it went back up. Can you imagine leaving my car in Boston with the window down? All I ask from the dealer is to give me a trade in so I break even. Is that too much to ask for?

We are the 2nd owners of a 2010 Journey. We purchased the vehicle having just over 36k miles on it. We thought we had gotten a pretty decent deal on the car. Not even a week after purchasing had passed, we were at the service dept. dealing with the brakes. We were getting a lot of pulsation when braking and the steering wheel was shaking from it. It was under their limited warranty so they turned the rotors, and that didn't help much. I took it in again and they replaced the rotors. Four months later, we were back to the pulsation from brakes and the rotors were turned. Now aside from the brakes being a pain, we had this weird low chirping sound coming from under the hood that cycled every 20s ecs or so. No one ever heard the sound when I would bring it in, so odd because my husband and I could clearly hear it.
We also were dealing with the problem that the car would randomly not start, battery was perfectly okay and no codes were available. The dealer again could not duplicate the problem. The no start problem just got worse until one day I just couldn't get it to start at all after 30 mins. of trying. I had it towed to the dealer, and then they just decided it needed a software update which our warranty did not cover (go figure!).
Well, three months later, here we are with with the same no start issue, brakes that have been changed twice in a single year and the chirping sound which turned out to be the water pump. After 3 attempts for Dodge to diagnose the chirping which has gotten worse over time, I decided that they needed to figure it out. Three and half days in service, they figured out it was the water pump. Thankfully, that was covered by the powertrain warranty, but honestly, 3.5 days to tell me that and they couldn't even give me a rental or loaner? Our car has less than 55k on it and it's incredible the amount of time it has spent in the Dodge service dept. and other shops for that matter. There are no recalls, no solutions, just bills. I will never be buying a Dodge again!

I am extremely disgusted with my Dodge 2009 Journey. It seems that there is a problem that Dodge can’t figure out. At random, the car will not start. I have had 2 new batteries put in the car, had to have it towed to the dealership 3 times and this problem still continues. I'm afraid to drive it because I never know when this problem will occur again! I have been stranded on the Boston turnpike and stuck at my work place numerous times. The car dealership can’t figure out why this continues to happen and Dodge has not had a recall. I'm not getting answers and in the meantime, I've got a vehicle that I'm afraid to drive!

I was doing maintenance on my car when a leak was found on radiator plastic coolant tank. The raised lettering had deteriorated to nothing. Where the letters were, the tank was now leaking antifreeze. The tank is discolored and very brittle. If the tank had cracked at the bottom, all coolant would have been lost. How can a plastic tank go bad in 3 years by holding a liquid it was supposed to hold? There had to be no material reports done on this product. I am through with this company. This vehicle has had brake problems and numerous defects. I'm so happy we bailed this company out instead of just letting it fail.

I purchased a 2011 Dodge Journey last summer from this dealership. When I bought this car brand new, I also purchased the bumper to bumper warranty. This is now the second issue I have had with this vehicle where I had to pay several hundred dollars out of pocket for issues that weren't covered. Really not covered?! What the ** does bumper to bumper mean?
First the battery goes bad and I have to pay out of pocket for that because I was told the battery was switched out after I bought it. Really?! Like I even know how to take a battery out! Now my key stopped communicating with my ignition so my car wouldn't start. How is that not covered? How do I make my battery stop working and switch itself with another car battery and how do I do something wrong to my key which is a computer chip stop working? Why aren't these things covered? Why do I buy a new car to have to pay out of pocket for these expenses? Why is the dealership allowed to operate ripping customers off left and right? Does everyone have extra hundreds lying around to pay for expenses on their new vehicles?

Have a 2010 Dodge Journey, has been in the shop and had the radio replaced after 6 months. Then had the brakes replaced after 38,000 km. Took it in again 2 weeks ago because there was no radio and flat battery, had to get a tow. Same thing happened again 1.5 weeks later, now it sits in the shop 3-4 days waiting for a new radio.
I called Chrysler customer service, basically told a don't have a leg to stand on, I didn't take out the extended warranty (its all ready warranted 3 years). I didnt think I would need one on a new vehicle, never taken one out before with GM. Well, customer service manager D.J. hung up on me said he couldn't do anything, and would't let me speak with anyone else! Way to go Chrysler! Do you think I will ever buy or recommend Chrysler? No.One very sad customer can't wait to get rid of this lemon and they wounder why they can't sell cars! Duh.

Dodge Journey brake issue not addressed, not recalled, not warrantied. I have a Dodge Journey with 32,000 miles, and this is the 2nd time I had to have the brakes replaced, for over $300 each time. The first time, I was reimbursed, less deductible expenses. These brakes are faulty, as indicated by research on the internet, and class action law suits. I want the brakes repaired, so they don't go bad again, or warrantied for the life of the vehicle, at no charge without a deductible. Moreover, I would like a reassurance that my vehicle is safe for my family. Dodge should recall this issue.

My 2009 Dodge Journey has died on me twice. It's been in the shop both times, and they can't figure out the problem. The first time, they replaced the TIPM (total integrated power module), it worked for a week and died again. Now they're returning it to me, and I'm afraid that it will die on me while I'm driving through a major intersection. Last time, I was pulling out of a parking lot, so no accident, this time. Another person wrote that it happened while she was driving down a hill.

2009 Dodge Journey has faulty brake system. Steering wheel shakes almost uncontrollably when braking over 40 mph. I changed front brakes pads twice; rotors and rears once. This is ridiculous and unsafe. I am unemployed and don’t have money to continue to deal with this issue. Chrysler knows about it because they have extended the brake warranty to 36000 miles with $100 deductible. It is not the consumer’s fault that this auto has a faulty braking system. There needs to be a total recall on this model ASAP. Pads are excessively worn and have them for display.

I am the owner of A 2010 Dodge Journey. On 3 occasions, the car has completely lost power while I was driving . It just suddenly goes dead. It loses all power including power steering and breaks The first time (September 17, 2010), I took it to be serviced. They said that they could not duplicate the event. It happened again 3 weeks ago as I was going over rail road tracks.
Today, was the last straw. I was driving on a down hill road when all of a sudden the car died completely again. I had no steering and no breaks. I had to use the emergency brake to stop the car.
