TruGreen is not to be trusted. (If you can get them on the phone at all). I specifically asked for a shrub fertilizing service only. After confirming they offered this service, I opened an account and was scheduled for service on May 28, 2026 or roughly two weeks hence. On the day of the service, since I didn't receive a call or text as promised confirming their plan to service our shrubs, I called them to confirm. That's when I was told that they were coming out to spray for insects (which I did not want or request) and would not fertilize the shrubs and trees until the Fall of 2026, four or five months from now.

Tru-Green has the worst customer service people! They do a lousy job when fertilizing and weeding your lawn. The techs are lazy and do not do a thorough job. When scheduling, they give you a six-hour arrival time, which is ridiculous.

I am receiving the lawn service and the tree shrub package. I prepay to receive the discount. When the bill came, it had $44.91 in additional charges for the two services. I called and talked to them previously several times and it was never disclosed that they are now charging a temporary fuel surcharge. I feel that should have been disclosed up front. Plus, the way the bill is written, it says *plus tax where applicable. It looks like the charge is a tax. However, it is a fuel surcharge. This should have been disclosed upfront.

I had two service contracts on two investment properties. I was paying for full yard treatment on both but only received treatment on one third of the yard. When I called to inquire, they didn’t care. Made no effort to remedy, no effort to keep me as a customer. I did have to call multiple times to cancel the two service contracts and get my money back. After a year of servicing only one-third of the yard even though I was paying for the full yard something should have been done to keep me as a customer. Techs are not reachable. Not trustworthy. Not dependable. They just don’t care. I wish I would have read these reviews first.

Bought a package deal with them and was told that it would not continue after the last treatment (only way I was going to buy it). Had 2 people come out the beginning of the year and did a treatment. First time I got to see the people doing the treatment. Person spraying did not get the other side of tree line (which is also my property) and kindly asked them to do it. They did. I went back inside and a little bit later they left. Found out a couple days later that my neighbor saw they start on one of the side of my lawn and never finish it because they got called back to the truck and then left. I got a bill for the treatment a few weeks later. reached out to them and talked to Selese and explained everything to them. They apologized but continued to try to get me to continue my services with discounts and pricing tactics. Finally they told me that they would take care of the bill.

I was not told that my yard with fescue grass could not be sprayed for weeds because it would kill the grass until the technician told me when he showed up for the first treatment. I have already paid for 12 months and 8 treatments.

I hired Tru Green to aerate my lawn along with fertilizing and weed control. When they aerated my lawn and many areas where they turned a corner they chewed up the grass. I called and sent the attached pictures and was told that is just normal and the grass would grow back. I don't see how this is normal, and I feel the response is inappropriate. I will not be using them again.

We signed up for a year's worth of lawn care to see how it went, which was poorly. Different tech every time, asked the same questions every time as to where to treat, this was all done when we signed up, I do not think they ever treated our full lawn. They continued treatment after our one year of pay and then tried to get us to pay for a treatment we did not authorize. On top of all of this, our yard is no better, still full of weeds and actually looks terrible, a complete waste of money.

I canceled some services and then THEY started it up again and told me it was on an auto renewal. No Notice nothing. And when I got billed and complained they said tough, it didn't mean anything just because I canceled some services. just pay your bill. I searching for somebody else to take care of my lawn NOW!

I had landscaping done in my backyard that left me with no grass at all in mid January. I was afraid that the topsoil would be washing down the hill to my neighbor and I needed grass. A TruGreen salesman told me they had the solution to my problem. They would come out the end of February and plug the yard rather than overseed. He talked me into buying one year service in advance which would include getting rid of any weeds in my flowerbeds. I am disabled and this was an answer to prayer. They did not show up in February, but I figured it was just too cold. March came and someone came out for weed control. I asked him why he wasn’t planting grass. His answer was they don’t do that until October.

I'm sick and tired of getting advertising emails from this company every single day. I block and report them but it doesn't help and the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the emails just brings me to their webpage with no way to unsubscribe. Seems like a very deceptive company and I would never use them. I feel like I'm being harassed, and I didn't even subscribe to their emails to begin with.

I had TruGreen for several years now. Although the service up to this year was OK, not great, but they always tried to make things right. This year (2026) is different. They supposedly treated my lawn on 3/24/26. There are areas of my yard that look like they weren't treated and the growth and greening of the grass has been much less than other years. My understanding is a significant number of other customers have complained. Which leads me to wonder, did TruGreen, because of fertilizer cost (the Iran war) reduce the amount of nitrogen in their liquid solution.

If I could give TruGreen less than one star I would. Last Summer, one of their techs treated our grass and burned it. After much aggravation and unreturned calls, they slit seeded in October. We thought the grass would come back in Spring. Wrong. It didn't work at all. We have mud patches and brown patches all over our lawn.

TruGreen promised me to over-seed and aerate my lawn and stated that I needed to pay for their weed killing and other services first. After paying hundreds of dollars for “weed killing,” I called to see when they’d come out and seed my lawn, and they stated that they don’t “over-seed” in Texas SMH! I paid them for months just waiting to get my lawn seeded, and now I’m left with a muddy lawn and no REFUND!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Tru Green Chem Lawn is a waste of money and time, I wouldn’t recommend Them to anyone. We had Tru Green come out hopefully to enhance Our lawn, They sprayed Their pre emergent, fertilizers, pesticides, and post emergent now Our lawn is dead our back yard is completely dead, We tried getting a manager to come out and make an assessment but have not had a manager come out till yet, however They did send a tech out and told Us We had an insect problem, I said what good was spraying pesticides then, He didn’t answer that. We called to cancel service and They tried to say They would send out a branch manager to see the lawn and offer Us a solution, I doubt that will happen. Meantime our lawn is dead, the front yard still has some green but full of weeds and brown spots. I wouldn’t recommend Tru Green to anyone.

I used TruGreen for 3 years. Fortunately, my grass looked great and for the price, the service was pretty good. Until last year. I had called and reported two different occasions where their staff over-sprayed my lawn so badly that it got on my shed AND my neighbors shed. Even sent them pictures to show how high on the shed it for. One particular product they used (Dicambia) was sprayed all over my new dogwood tree (planted for my deceased mother in law) and killed the tree within a week. While I did receive calls from someone saying they would like to investigate it, no one ever came out to do anything UNTIL I cancelled services this year. A technician came out, reviewed tree, I sent 7 photos of the tree wilting and its ultimate rapid death.

I have been using TruGreen for a little over a year. I had high expectations for a lush lawn and healthy hedges. I achieved neither. My hibiscus has a fungus, my lawn has weeds and clover and it doesn’t look any better than the day I started. My neighbor (a widow)fertilizes her own lawn and it looks 10 times better than mine. I cancelled my service.

Do NOT use this company (Pensacola, FL). They failed to follow their own procedures (such as the initial lawn eval) and they don't Quality Check it. It is up to the CUSTOMER to find it, call them out on it and try to get it rescheduled. They also fail to keep you in the loop of any date changes, instead letting you flounder and wondering where they hell they are at. Go with ANY company other than this because even though they say "You are a valued customer", sure doesn't feel like both by their actions and lack of communication.

My grandmother hired TruGreen to kill the weeds and pests in her lawn. After spending $477.02 and several months half of the grass is dead alongside three of her bushes. Her lawn is now in a worse state than those of her neighbors who have spent nothing at all. Even worse we tried to reach out to the TruGreen employee, Steve, with whom she signed the contract and whose contact info we had but after promising to come around later that day he never showed up. He has given no explanation of his absence or offered to come around at a better time. We have heard nothing since and been unable to reach him by phone or text. No member of my family will ever be working with TruGreen again! And I will warn my friends and neighbors about them too.

Today was supposed to be my first service. While I was waiting for the specialist to arrive I received a text saying my service was complete. I walked outside and saw the truck leaving my neighbor's yard and saw the tracks in his yard where the treatment had been performed. I immediately called support and they apologized and said they would arrange for him to come back in 2-3 days. I said I wanted him back today and they said they would have him call me. So far no call.

First thing I keep on getting emails saying I have your services. I don't. Stop emailing me at **. I do my own lawn. If this doesn't stop I'm sending this nonsense to higher ups.

I have told them I'm no longer a customer. They seem to be deaf and illiterate to my attempts to communicate for this season. I ordered their workers off my property, yet they communicated that work was done even no work was done and the poor guy said he'd remind them. Then they sent a message saying service is completed. As nothing was done-I'd stopped it-how could it have been done? If I'd had doubts about making the right decision when I canceled, I no longer have any. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Don't waste your time or your money. They quoted me one price charged me another.. 3 weeks of phone calls for a refund of over charge.. finally got so aggravated I cancelled service..I did get my first service however... Thanks for the chemical burns the tech obviously had no clue... Now I have to fix multiple spots... NOT WORTH IT!!!

When I called Trugreen. I thought my neighbor had used them but it was growing green she used. She has a beautiful yard. TruGreen missed so many weeds that didn’t die then Trugreen missed so many spots with the aeration and seeding so they came back and the man said it was a different seed. I have onions growing all over my yard now that I’ve never had in 25 Yrs living here. I quickly learned they are hard to kill and digging them up is a nightmare. I so regret letting tru green do anything on my property! My yard is a nightmare. When I pay that kind of money I expect to get professional service but the guys that come out and people I’ve spoken to on the phone, seldom have they worked there over a year.

Do not use this company, they promise a lot and never follow thru, local management in Jacksonville a joke. I have spend more time on the phone trying to get a certain tech to service my yard (Fernando) who is fabulous and they refuse to honor my request.

I did have a TRUGREEN service for 2025. When that service ended, I did not renew, however, the company continued to bill my Visa account. After I received a charge in January, 2026, I called and ask that my account be cancelled and not be renewed and I paid the Visa charge. By the way, I have a Trugreen case number (34678669) from my first call and they just ignored that on this call. Then in February, I was charged again, and then I was charged again in March. I just finished a long call to customer services and THEY WOULD NOT REFUND THOSE CHARGES (of course I had to pay my Visa bill anyway).

My experience with this company from August 2024 through the end of 2025 has been unacceptable and has caused significant frustration and inconvenience. After one complete year of service, I am wondering why I keep TruGreen. The pictures below is of from a fully treaded year even after the Fall aeration with overseed. What do you think? I have a fully paid service plan for next year. The personnel are great to work with, however either the products or technicians are disconnected. One or the other is correct for the amount of application. It is embarrassing to have an application sign on the lawn after service. The company's customer service center is not located in the same state as its service personnel, and there appears to be no coordination between them.

I paid to have my yard serviced. Call several times asking to speak to the local manager to come out to inspect my yard. I prepaid for the service. A month had went by. I dispute my credit card. So I received a callback months later saying I owed them money. One again I asked for local representative to come out and inspect my yard. No one called or showed up. They sent me to a collection agency. Unbelievable way to do business..

The worse lawn company ever, they have no idea how to treat different grasses, they just spray crap and kill your lawn, tried to speak to the 866 number, a bunch of idiots answering the phone. I asked for them to send me the list of applications 3 times, I am still waiting.

I called to get a quote from TRUGREEN. At first the girl was pleasant. Then as I was asking questions she got agitated. She told me I could only get discount if I order on the phone right now. I said ok, I will call you back. She proceeded to say, "Thanks for wasting my time". Rudest person ever. I will never recommend this company and needless to say I will not be calling back.

I have till Trugreen to cancel my account. Now been 2 weeks, still have not got my money back. I email them 6 times till they cancel my account, but I still have not heard back. I like to get my money back. I will not use TruGreen.

Ended up with 2 accounts... Did not get grass seed for fall winter. So my yard is worth more than I started... ruined all area. Now will hire pro to repair front, sides, and back. Called but wasn’t helped with service.

Customer service and the reps are clueless. Ignored bad reviews and should have believed them. I will try a local company or Lawn Doctor, as I’m guessing they’ll be more professional and knowledgeable.

So if you're thinking about using Trugreen don't. what they show you on TV is not what you get. Not even close. What they do is fertilize your existing lawn in hopes that it will grow back. They apply 6 treatment of fertilizer over 6 months. At the end of 6 months then they will apply grass. So in Iowa if you start in March that mean they will not spray any grass seed until August, it start to snow in October. which means you have to wait until the next spring to see if the grass seed they applied work. But here the thing. By the end of August the temperature is starting to cool down and things stop growing. So if you want to waste your time and money go ahead and call them. However you can do it yourself for a lots less and by the middle of the summer have a beautiful lawn. Their cost ($800 - $1000). If you do it yourself ($250- $300). That is for an area around 8 - 9 thousand sq, ft. You can find everything you need to know on Youtube!!!!!

I had been a longtime Trugreen customer for many years. Their service has fallen so much that I canceled service last Nov. They performed an unauthorized service on 3/5. I received no notice ahead of time like you usually do. They raised the charge to $459 from last year's $344 without calling me or notifying me. 5 days later they still haven't refunded my card after the supervisor said she would take care of it. This company is a complete mess. I recommend you run from this company! Still no refund!

I paid TruGreen $467 in June 2025 and by Feb 2026, my lawn is dead. I fully blame TruGreen for this. I reached out in November as a feedback to their application and they said it will get better. I reached out again in January and this time talked to an agent and she said she will personally talk to the regional manager. In March, when I reached out again, they said all I get in refund is $63 and nothing else. It's a shady business where everyone is trained well in pointing fingers at others and stealing money. I have attached pictures for anyone who needs more evidence. I even attached screenshot of the chat where the agent did a great job of convincing/deceiving.

This co. just wanted my money and did not provide the service that I requested. Even when I called and ask to have them return Mary said they don't do that and told me to wait 10 days to have them come back. Not acceptable.

The service man broke my fence by pushing it the wrong direction and then proceeded to leave left without saying a word. My wife and I called several times over the next few weeks and did not receive one call or email in return. I cancelled the service and would never use them again. This company proved they had no care for customer satisfaction or integrity and they lost a very valuable customer. I now use Turf Masters and we are very pleased with their honesty and lawn care is exceptional.

I’m very disappointed in the TruGreen service. Since they been spraying my yard it has been pretty much destroyed. Dead down to the roots. Was told it was fungus, now it’s frost, next it was watering issues. Even the techs who come have admitted the treatments have not been working.
